- 0:05Speaker 1: Come on in and join us. It's time once again
- 0:07to catch up with Country Weekly, where we dive into
- 0:10news and gossip from the world of country music. I'm
- 0:14your host, Ken Dawkins, and I will be reading from
- 0:17various sources found online now. As a reminder, Radio Eye
- 0:21is a reading surface intended for people who are blind
- 0:24or have other disabilities that make it difficult to read
- 0:27printed material. We'll begin with the first article day of
- 0:30June fifteenth from allcountrynews dot Com. First up, Peyton Smith
- 0:36bets on love's unexpected road in heartfelt new release. Some
- 0:41songs tell a story, others hold a mirror up to
- 0:44life itself. With his latest release, to Hearts, Peyton Smith
- 0:49delivers a poignant reminder that the most meaningful chapters of
- 0:52our lives are often the ones we never saw coming.
- 0:55Country music is long thrived on stories of love, loss,
- 0:59and the winding room in between. Smith taps into that
- 1:02timeless tradition here, crafting a deeply personal anthem about taking
- 1:06a leap of faith and discovering at life's greatest rewards
- 1:09often lie beyond the plans we carefully map out for ourselves.
- 1:14Two Hearts traces the evolution of young love. What begins
- 1:17is a simple connection gradually unfolds into something far bigger,
- 1:21a family, a home, and a future built on trust
- 1:23in the unknown. Rather than focusing on grand gestures of
- 1:27fairy tale romance, Smith shines a light on the quiet
- 1:30beauty of commitment and the courage it takes to embrace uncertainty.
- 1:34The song's emotional weight comes from its authenticity. Inspired by
- 1:38real life experiences, Smith explores the universal feeling of stepping
- 1:42into a future without guarantees and choosing love anyway. It's
- 1:46a sentiment that resonates deeply, especially in a world where
- 1:49certainty often feels elusive. Instead of dwelling on what could
- 1:52have been, Smith celebrates the unexpected turns that ultimately shape
- 1:56our lives for the better. The track acknowledges that the
- 2:00best things often have arrived unannounced, showing up in forms
- 2:04we never anticipated and leading us down roads we never
- 2:07intended to travel. In many ways, Two Hearts serves as
- 2:11a love letter to life's unpredictability. It's about trusting the process,
- 2:15embracing the unknown, and recognizing that the hand you're dealt
- 2:18may turn out far better than the one you thought
- 2:20you wanted. For Peyton Smith. The song marks another compelling
- 2:24entry in a growing catalog built on honesty and emotional connection.
- 2:27For listeners, it's a reminder that while life rarely unfolds
- 2:30according to plan, the detours often lead exactly where we're
- 2:34meant to be, and that's the magic of two hearts.
- 2:37It's not just a song about falling in love. It's
- 2:39about having the faith to follow where love leads, even
- 2:42when the destination is impossible to see. While we're on
- 2:46the subject of love, Brett Eldridge secretly got married. Country
- 2:50star shocks fans with surprise announcement. For years, Brett Eldridge
- 2:55held the unofficial title as one of country music's most
- 2:57eligible bachelors. With a smooth vocals, charming personality, and heart
- 3:01throb status, fans often wondered when or if the Don't
- 3:05You hit maker would ever settle down. Well, wonder no more.
- 3:09In a move that caught nearly everyone off guard, Brett
- 3:12Eldridge revealed that he has officially been or become a
- 3:15married man. The country star took to social media with
- 3:18a heartfelt and deeply personal message, sharing that his life
- 3:22has changed dramatically over the last several years and revealing
- 3:25that he found love with a woman who loves him
- 3:27the way beyond a fella with a microphone along the
- 3:31way we got married, Eldridge wrote an emotional post, stunning
- 3:33fans who had no idea the singer had even been
- 3:35in a serious relationship. Rather than making a splashy announcement
- 3:39or sharing exclusive wedding details, Eldridge chose a much more
- 3:43intimate approach. The singer offered only a sweet note reflecting
- 3:47on love, growth and gratitude, alongside a black and white
- 3:50wedding photo that showed the couple walking hand in hand.
- 3:53The surprise announcement was accompanied by an original new song,
- 3:56seemingly serving as the soundtrack to this newly revealed.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Chapter of his life.
- 4:00Speaker 1: While many celebrities document every relationship milestone publicly, Eldridge explained
- 4:05that he and his wife intentionally chose a different path.
- 4:08Some of the best things in life are the ones
- 4:10you plant and grow quietly in your sacred space, away
- 4:13from the noise, he shared. The message painted a picture
- 4:16of a relationship built far from the spotlight, one filled
- 4:20with laughter, late night conversations, shared adventures.
- 4:23Speaker 2: And unwavering support.
- 4:25Speaker 1: For many, the announcement marked the end of an era
- 4:27for a singer who had long been viewed as one
- 4:29of Nashville's most sought after bachelor's. Yet, for Eldridge, it
- 4:32appears this new season is less about public attention and
- 4:35more about personal fulfillment. There's so many amazing things ahead,
- 4:39he wrote, and after all this time, I'm so grateful
- 4:41I have such a beautiful soul to share it oil
- 4:43all with. Though he kept many details private, one thing
- 4:47is clear. Eldridge's biggest love song may have just become
- 4:50his real life story. And judging by the joy pouring
- 4:53through his words, the country star couldn't be happier. Well,
- 4:57and now we go in a different direction, going over
- 4:59to the Associatedpress dot Com with the story that Jellyroll
- 5:03files for divorce after ten year marriage citing irreconcilable differences.
- 5:09Country music star Jelly Roll as filed for divorce from
- 5:12his wife of ten years, according to court filings. The complaint,
- 5:15filed in Franklin, Tennessee, by the hard fought Hallelujah singer,
- 5:19lists the reason for divorce as irreconcilable differences. The couple
- 5:23were married in Las Vegas on twenty sixteen. The filing
- 5:28lists the date of separation is May ninth. Jellyroll, whose
- 5:31given name is Jason de Ford, won three Grammys as
- 5:34We Know earlier this year, including Best Contemporary Country Album
- 5:37for Beautifully Broken, and his acceptance speech for the album award,
- 5:41Jellyroll thanked his wife, Alyssa de Ford, who goes by
- 5:45Bunny XO, saying I would never have changed my life
- 5:48without you. I would have ended up dead or in jail.
- 5:52The national Native songs often explore overcoming adversity and its
- 5:55long road back from drugs in prison, and he speaks
- 5:58about his redemption narcs to diverse audiences, from people serving
- 6:02time and correctional centers to concert crowds, and even in
- 6:05testimony before Congress. In December, Tennessee's Republican Governor Bill Lee
- 6:10issued a pardon for jelly Roll after friends and civic
- 6:13leaders joined in an outpouring of support. In a memoir
- 6:17released in February, Xo wrote the jelly Roll as her
- 6:20soulmate and staid a true connection kept a couple together
- 6:23through ups and downs. A message to her attorneys seeking
- 6:26comment was not immediately returned. On Tuesday. A representative for
- 6:30jelly Roll also did not immediately respond to messages. We
- 6:34keep moving down the road. Now we're at USAToday dot com,
- 6:38where country star Justin Moore stops touring with Riley Green
- 6:42amid health concerns. Country singer Justin Moore has taken a
- 6:46step back from touring to address some new health concerns.
- 6:49The You, Me and Whiskey singer forty two announced June
- 6:52eighth on Instagram that he will pause performing on Riley
- 6:55Green's Cowboy as It gets to Her to take some
- 6:58time to focus on my health. Moore, who dropped his
- 7:01latest album This Is My Dirt in October of twenty
- 7:04twenty four, did not specify the length of the hiatus.
- 7:08I'll be stepping away from touring for a short period
- 7:11and will be unable to perform some upcoming shows. This
- 7:14is the right decision for me and my family, and
- 7:16I appreciate everyone's understanding and support. He wrote this and
- 7:20a statement shared on Instagram. I'll look forward to getting
- 7:23back out there later this summer and doing what I
- 7:25love most the Arkansas Natives. Announcement came ahead of two
- 7:28concerts in Dewey Beach, Delaware, initially set for June eleventh
- 7:32and twelfth. He was also set to perform additional shows
- 7:36through the fall, with his last scheduled show in November
- 7:39in Montgomery, Alabama. Moore as the latest artist to announce
- 7:43a pause in performing this year. Other country music acts,
- 7:46from Meghan Patrick to Chase Rice have confirmed they will
- 7:49no longer tour this year due to various reasons, including
- 7:52exhaustion or to spend time with family. Last month, Taylor
- 7:56Holder twenty eight apologized to fans for canceling his upcoming
- 7:59when no one is a round tour to prioritize his
- 8:02mental health amid recent struggles in May. On May twelfth,
- 8:06in Instagram post, he said he can no longer ignore
- 8:09the toll touring has taken on his mental health. I've
- 8:12tried for a while now to put my head down
- 8:14and just push through this and give everything I have
- 8:16to the music and the people who support me. But truthfully,
- 8:20I've reached my limit right now and I need to
- 8:22take a step back and focus on getting healthy.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Older wrote that in a post.
- 8:27Speaker 1: On to a June fifteenth article in Men's Journal dot
- 8:30com where another country singer is hospitalized forced to cancel
- 8:34festival performance. Forty two year old country singer Tyler Farr
- 8:38had to cancel his performance at the Goshen Stampede after
- 8:41being hospitalized. The Redneck Crazy singer sustained a head injury
- 8:45in farming accidents ahead of Saturday's scheduled performance. Festival organizers
- 8:50said due to a motor vehicle incident on his farm,
- 8:53Tyler Farr was taken to a local hospital and diagnosed
- 8:56with a severe concussion. The organizers of the Etiquette Festival
- 9:00announced the update on Instagram.
- 9:02Speaker 2: They wrote, Tyler Farr.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Will no longer be able to perform at Goshen Stampede
- 9:06on June thirteenth. We appreciate everyone's understanding and will share
- 9:10additional event information as becomes available. We wish Tyler a
- 9:13speedy recovery. Although Farr shared the post on his own
- 9:17Instagram story, he did not provide any further updates. The
- 9:21venue confirmed that David Foster and All Stars would be
- 9:24taking over and filling in for Far. The post said,
- 9:27with numerous memorable performances, including appearances at Munhagen Sun Casino,
- 9:32the All Stars are a legendary New England group of
- 9:34musicians led by Doctor David Lefty Foster, performing legendary classic rock,
- 9:38country and R and B hits. Far a trained opera singer,
- 9:42released the EP called QUITB and Country in twenty twenty five.
- 9:46The country singer first rose to fame over a decade
- 9:49ago with his first single, Hot Mess, and later the
- 9:52album Redneck Crazy. His second album, Suffering Peace, made the
- 9:56top five on Billboard's two hundred All Genre chart, solidified
- 10:00his success. Far's most recent performance was on June ninth
- 10:04and Nashville. He is still scheduled to perform on June
- 10:07twentieth at the Boots and Brus Country Music Festival in California.
- 10:12Now we ease on over to Saving Country Music with
- 10:15the first article dated June sixteenth, kind of a follow
- 10:18up to something we spoke about last week. Taylor Swift
- 10:21disrupts country charts radio with new song YEP. It's out Now.
- 10:26The new big thing on country radio is an old
- 10:28big thing, says Saving Country Music. Taylor Swift, the global superstar,
- 10:34released a new song called I Knew It I Knew
- 10:36You on June fifth as part of the Toy Story
- 10:39five soundtrack, with the metadata and marketing claiming it's a
- 10:42country song. In the film, it's sung by cowgirl character Jesse.
- 10:47Now the song is cresting the Billboard Hot one hundred
- 10:50and setting records on country radio for its meteoric rise.
- 10:54Last week, Swift and I Knew I Knew It I
- 10:57Knew You made headlines by debuting at number eight eight
- 11:00on Billboard's Country Airplay chart, the first time a single
- 11:03from a woman has debuted in the top ten on
- 11:05that chart since it was first published in nineteen ninety,
- 11:08and only the second single toever do so, behind More
- 11:11Than a Memory from Garth Brooks to debuted at number
- 11:14one in two thousand and seven. The adoption of a
- 11:17song by country radio has been massive, even historic, necessitating
- 11:21a mea culpa from Saving Country Music, which said initially
- 11:25they might try to service I Knew I Knew You
- 11:28to country radio as a single. They tried that with
- 11:31Betty from Folklore, but the best it could do was
- 11:33number thirty two. Then the murder ballad Nobody No Crime
- 11:37from Evermore stalled at number fifty four. It's hard to
- 11:40see I Knew It, I Knew You doing any better
- 11:43or competing for CMAACM, Grammy Country Awards. Boy, that was
- 11:48a misunderestimate. The single has not only blown past all
- 11:52of Swift's previous post country benchmarks. It now is almost
- 11:55guaranteed CMAACM, Grammy consideration, if only because these awards will
- 12:01likely want to entice the superstar into a televised performance.
- 12:05It's important to point out that country radio actually has
- 12:08two major charts, and there's currently a major discrepancy between
- 12:11the two via I Knew It, I Knew You. Though
- 12:15Billboard's Luminant Radio panel put the song in the top ten,
- 12:19its first week, media base had it debuting at number
- 12:22twenty five, and this week still only has it at
- 12:25number seventeen. These are still massive numbers, for sure, and
- 12:29for Swift out of a shoot, but that discrepancy is
- 12:32quite significant. Saving country music might have underestimated the resonance
- 12:36of I Knew It, I Knew You, as much as
- 12:38the appetite by Swift, Disney and everyone else involved to
- 12:42push it to country radio as a way to advertise
- 12:45the Toy Story franchise. Really, this feels just as much
- 12:48a lesson of how country radio will adopt almost anything
- 12:51they're told to do, as opposed to truly having a
- 12:54finger on the pulse of American country music consumer and
- 12:58serving them what they want. It's not that America doesn't
- 13:01want I Knew It, I Knew You, But it's fair
- 13:03to ask how many of those listeners are country fans
- 13:06and just how country this song really is. Now, that
- 13:09doesn't mean Taylor Swift and I Knew It I Knew
- 13:11You isn't having major implications on country music. The song
- 13:15has broken Ella Langley's most recent streak at the top
- 13:18of the Billboard Hot one hundred with Choosing Texas, which
- 13:21comes in at number two this week thanks to Swift.
- 13:24It's indentally. Ella Langley's be Her, that's also been on
- 13:28a big winning streak, sits at number four on the
- 13:30Hot one hundred, but number one on the Billboard Country
- 13:33Airplay chart, where it's been for weeks. Swift's I Knew
- 13:36It I Knew You is set to depose Langley on
- 13:38radio soon, sitting at number four this week at Billboard Airplay.
- 13:43Langley is also enjoying another rare feat where she has
- 13:45three songs simultaneously in the Billboard Country Airplay Top five,
- 13:50Choosing Texas, be Her and her duet with Morgan Wallen
- 13:54I Can't Love You Anymore for the record. On the
- 13:57media based charts, Choosing Texas has already been late as recurrent,
- 14:01meaning it's not charting at the top anymore, even though
- 14:04it's receiving plenty of radio play. Could Taylor Swift and
- 14:08I Knew It I Knew You disrupt the Ella Langley
- 14:10moment in some respects it already has, But Langley is
- 14:13also disrupting Langley with Choosing Texas, keeping be her from
- 14:17hitting number one on the Billboard Hot one hundred, and
- 14:20Langley has proven her resonance is deep enough that it
- 14:23doesn't matter who else is nipping at her heels or
- 14:26deposing her from the top spot for a few weeks.
- 14:29Langley's new album Dandelion is still at number two this week,
- 14:32behind Drake. Also, Tellerswift singles have a pretty notorious track
- 14:37record of burning bright and then fading away quickly. She'll
- 14:41go through an entire album's worth of number one singles
- 14:43in a matter of months. While a song like Choosing
- 14:46Texas stays at the top for what feels like an eternity,
- 14:49It's possible I Knew It, I Knew You suffers a
- 14:51similar fate. After all, it still doesn't feel like I
- 14:55Knew It, I Knew You as that resonent of a
- 14:57track name recognition and stands support might be most of
- 15:01what is propping the song up. Elements of its melody
- 15:04are reminiscent of even the nights are better from air supply,
- 15:08and not in a good ways as saving country music,
- 15:10and the song just lacks the twang that is so
- 15:12president today's country. But clearly the lesson from the first
- 15:16few weeks of it I Knew You is not too underestimated.
- 15:19This is not some third or fourth single from a
- 15:21Swift record they're testing at country radio. It's an all
- 15:25out blitz. But the song's success might say more about
- 15:28the country radio format's permissiveness than it does the residence
- 15:32of long term impact the song will have on country
- 15:34radio or country music. Well, Taylor Swift used the wild
- 15:39success if I Knew It I Knew You to springboard
- 15:41back into country. Now that Ella Langley has shattered all
- 15:44glass ceilings and country remains hot, we'll have to see.
- 15:48But again, the rather wild, unexpected adoption and success of
- 15:51a song from a movie soundtrack is resetting the possibilities
- 15:55of women in country music and all of a sudden
- 15:58injecting Taylor Swift as a player in country once again,
- 16:01for better or for worse, Whether it's for better or
- 16:05for worse, We'll just have to wait and see next.
- 16:08It's an album review of Midland's new album Stages. Oh Midland,
- 16:14where are we and.
- 16:15Speaker 2: What are we to do with you?
- 16:16Speaker 1: As soon as we want to cast you off as
- 16:18the monkeys of country music with your embellished backstory of
- 16:22an Austin Barr band that made it big, you put
- 16:24out songs that make the mainstream of country so much
- 16:27better where you kind of don't care about all the
- 16:30marketing behind it. Then, as you become one of the
- 16:33sparks to light the current neo traditionalist revolution in country,
- 16:36you release a rather muted and disappointing album in twenty
- 16:39twenty four, is Barely Blue, Thinking you could be the
- 16:42primary songwriters and Dave Cobb's production could cover for the
- 16:46thin material. Where to land on Midland might have just
- 16:49as much to do with your mood that day as
- 16:52it does with the band and the music itself. But
- 16:55it's hard to stay mad about them when listening to
- 16:57their new album, Stages says saving country Music. Everything they
- 17:01got wrong on Barley Blue, they get right on this one.
- 17:04Everything you want from a Midland album they deliver on
- 17:07This is the Midland you know and love if and
- 17:09when you love them, as opposed to pretending they're anything
- 17:13more than hit or miss songwriters who might be good
- 17:16for a song or two. On each album, they put
- 17:18out a call for good country songs, regardless of who
- 17:21wrote them, and pull in quality stuff from names like
- 17:24Dean Dylon, Josh Thompson, Carlson Chamberlain, and Chris Stapleton. Instead
- 17:29of trying to be overstylized and make some bold artistic
- 17:32expression that's above their abilities, they solicit Trent Wilmanot's producer
- 17:37known for making killer, straight ahead country records from pokes
- 17:40like Cody Johnson and Drake Milligan. The result is a
- 17:44neo traditional classic country record with killer hooks, twangy and
- 17:48tasty instrumentation, and the emphasis in all the right places
- 17:52mainly Midland's easy, breezy coolness, and help make actual country
- 17:56music cool again to the masses, even if they did
- 17:59it in kind of an un cool way. Make no
- 18:01mistake about it, Though Midland seated the appetite for ours
- 18:04like Zach Top and Ella Langley, they were stepping stones
- 18:07to the widespread success traditional country enjoys today. Worthy praise
- 18:12aside stages is full of still full of country cliches,
- 18:16worn out drinking themes, rehashed storylines, and easy tropes. It
- 18:20never even attempts to venture beneath the surface and express
- 18:23something deeper. And even though they came into country as
- 18:26sort of the California Cocaine Cowboys in twenty seventeen slinging coolness,
- 18:32nine years on their kind of a version of dad country,
- 18:34with younger guys like Zach Top, Kenny Whitmeyer, Mac Geiger,
- 18:38Spencer Hatcher, called Goodwin, and so on and so forth,
- 18:41taking the reins of younger audiences. But this thirty three
- 18:45minute ten track album just breezes by in the best
- 18:48of ways. It's not just a great album of great songs.
- 18:51It's a good listening album of good songs with no skips,
- 18:54that you play on the porch or the dock on
- 18:55a summer afternoon and nobody complains. Yes, the songs licks
- 19:00or cliche, but that's inherent in old school country music,
- 19:04and being willing to embrace that and sell it with
- 19:06passion is part of the magic and potency of country songs.
- 19:10That might be the greatest compliment to pay, but it's
- 19:12a very apt one for this album, Shooting Memories with
- 19:16Tequila and Walk a Mile had those lyrical hooks that
- 19:20are just so satisfying and backed by the right sounds.
- 19:23It's pretty ironic up in texas As being sung by
- 19:26guys from California, Oregon, and Arizona respectively, with an appearance
- 19:30by Clint Black. We already reached capacity for these Texas
- 19:34As Heaven songs many years back, but that doesn't mean
- 19:37the song still doesn't work. Vaco might be where the
- 19:40cheesy writing goes too far, but Drinkin Dark Whiskey co
- 19:43written by Chris Stapleton, feels like a heater, even if
- 19:46it's another damn whisky country song. All you can ask
- 19:50for is an artist to be the best version of themselves.
- 19:52Midland was never going to bring the meaningful lyricism imbued
- 19:55with honky tonk authenticity like Silverada Moonpies, or the involved
- 20:00in reverberate moments of early Tyler Childers or the rabid
- 20:03coolness of Ella Langley. But they can be who they are,
- 20:06which is a mid career, mid level band who can
- 20:09fill an amphitheater with cool vibes and Midland coming back
- 20:12to earth in their career and putting out music that's
- 20:15hard to hate might just give them a bit more
- 20:17of the street.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Cred they've always desired.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Either way, it doesn't seem useful to cause of saving
- 20:22country music to get in the way of Midland at
- 20:24this moment. Stages is a good old country music album
- 20:28that makes you not want to hate Midland all over again.
- 20:31Now we do a couple of jumping jacks over to
- 20:34the book dot com. With the first article published June seventeenth,
- 20:38Tucker Wetmore's move to Nashville was an epic road trip
- 20:41with his mom. When it comes to country music, you
- 20:44pretty much need to be in Nashville to start your career,
- 20:47as it is the home of country music. Tucker Wetmore
- 20:51knew this, and that's why he and his mom decided
- 20:53to drive from Oregon, his home state, across America to
- 20:56begin his country career in music City. Or detailed the
- 21:00three day road trip he and his mom took it
- 21:02around twenty twenty that led him to achieving all of
- 21:05his country music dreams. Wetmore told Taste of Country Nights
- 21:09that it was in twenty twenty somewhere in the middle
- 21:12of COVID and I was like, Mom, I really want
- 21:14to do this, and she goes, I just go do it.
- 21:17The Brunette singer said that was the moment he dropped everything,
- 21:20packed his stuff to go to Nashville. We came in
- 21:24a car. I had a sub Ru Legacy, and me
- 21:26and my mom drove around the country and I had COVID.
- 21:29Speaker 2: At the time.
- 21:29Speaker 1: I was getting over COVID, he says. So I just
- 21:32beat at the time for three days and were driving.
- 21:34All of those three days. She drove most of it.
- 21:36Speaker 2: God bless her.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Just crazy to think that one of country music's most
- 21:40promising up and comers would likely have ever started his
- 21:43career in country music had it not been for a wing,
- 21:46a prayer, COVID, his mom, and a Subaru. Next long
- 21:51lost patriotic Charlie Daniels band anthem My Home now available
- 21:56after a decade. A stirring patriotic anthem from the legendary
- 22:00Charlie Daniels band is now available for the first time
- 22:04in a decade. Taste of Country readers are the first
- 22:07ones to find out about it. A lost track from
- 22:10the archives titled My Home drops commercially for the first
- 22:13time in this past Wednesday. More than a decade after
- 22:16at first debuted. The Charlie Daniels Band first recorded My
- 22:20Home back in twenty fourteen from Macy's Fourth of July
- 22:24television special, but the song never saw commercial release at
- 22:27that time. The recording late dormant over the years as
- 22:31the Country Music Hall of Famer and his band focused
- 22:34on touring and new recording projects. Following Daniel's death in
- 22:38twenty twenty, the track was largely forgotten until last year,
- 22:42when Daniel's son, Charlie Daniels Junior, rediscovered My Home and
- 22:46started to look into releasing it. As he relates in
- 22:49a Soapbox column, it took extensive research, conversations with songwriter
- 22:53Bill Schmerenhorn, and a long search for the master recording
- 22:57of the track to move the release forward, and it
- 23:00couldn't have happened without help from Sheerhorn and co writer
- 23:03Doug Castero's. The result is an uptempo track that balances
- 23:07country and rock elements, topped off by scorching, fleet fingered
- 23:11fiddle runs from Daniels. The song's unabashedly flagwaving lyrics are
- 23:16especially appropriate as America prepares to celebrate its two hundred
- 23:19and fiftieth birthday on July fourth. The archival release of
- 23:24My Home is part of a busy slate of projects
- 23:26that Daniel's estate is focused on. In twenty twenty six,
- 23:30Daniels would have turned ninety in October, leading into what
- 23:33his family terms the tenth decade of Charlie Daniels. Other
- 23:37special events include the Legend of Charlie Daniels Show at
- 23:40Fort Campbell, Kentucky that'll be on July fourth, featuring performances
- 23:44from a CDB hologram, the Frontmen, Aaron Tippin and Eric
- 23:49Lee Beddingfield. There's also an upcoming Best of the Charlie's
- 23:52Band Volunteer Jam compilation that's an album due in August.
- 23:57My Home is currently available via all major digit services.
- 24:02The Boots got a new list this week, the Top
- 24:04ten Tim McGraw's Songs. Tim McGraw's had a spectacularly long
- 24:08and successful career that landed him in the Country Music
- 24:11Hall of Fame, and that's what makes him one of
- 24:13country music's top modern artists. Launch's recording career with the
- 24:17release of a self titled album back in nineteen ninety three.
- 24:21Though none of the poor singles from the project were successful,
- 24:25His career caught fire with the release of his second album,
- 24:27Not a Moment Too Soon in nineteen ninety four. That
- 24:30album scored McGraw his first hit single with Indian Outlaw,
- 24:34as well as two number one hits with Don't Take
- 24:36the Girl and the title song. McGraw has gone on
- 24:40to a career that's landed him thirty number one hits,
- 24:42and he's maintained a high profile marriage to fellow country
- 24:45superstar Faith Hill, as well as high powered acting career
- 24:49in films and on television. McGraw's built one of the
- 24:52biggest careers in country music by making unusually bold and
- 24:55diverse song choices. Top songs included powerful anthems like Please
- 25:00Remember Me and Live Like You Were Dying, Humble and Kind,
- 25:03and more, but he's also been mindful of sheer entertainment
- 25:06value of lighter fare, including I Like It, Love It,
- 25:08and more. Though the Louisiana native launched in nineteen ninety
- 25:12with his self titled debut record, it wasn't until the
- 25:15release of his sophomore project four years later that McGraw
- 25:18got the adoration of both country professionals and fans alike.
- 25:22So according to the Boot and Taste of Country. The
- 25:25number ten song Down on the Farm, this barnstorming honky
- 25:28Tonkin' tune was the third single from McGraw's sophomore effort,
- 25:32Not a Moment too Soon. Here McGraw beams with redneck
- 25:35pride as he invites listeners to embrace their inner hillbilly
- 25:38side get down on the Far. Number nine says the
- 25:42boot Better Than I Used to Be, Written by Ashley
- 25:45Gore and Brian, McGraw's twenty ten single, is a powerful
- 25:48song that's anchored by a heartfelt proclamation, I ain't as
- 25:51good as I'm gonna get, but I'm better than I
- 25:54used to be. The number eight song Felt Good on
- 25:57My Lips. This effervescent uptemp track finds McGraw casually recounting
- 26:02his interactions with a girl at the bar and verses
- 26:05before erupting in euphoria about a kissy snag that sure
- 26:09felt good on my lips. Something Like That is the
- 26:12number seven song, serving as the second single off McGraw's
- 26:16nineteen ninety nine of Place in the Sun album. This
- 26:19bright love song chronicles the all American love story of
- 26:22a young man being completely smitten by a woman he
- 26:24meets in passing. Number six goes to Humble and Kind.
- 26:29If there was a country song guidebook on how to
- 26:32live life, McGraw's Humble and Kind would be it. Written
- 26:35by Laurie McKenna, the ernest tune finds McGraw offering words
- 26:40of wisdom on how to live a life that at
- 26:42its core reflects a humble and kind character. The twenty
- 26:45sixteen track nabbed multiple accolades, including a Grammy for Best
- 26:50Country Song. The following year, Indian Outlaw comes in at
- 26:54number five, Undoubtedly the breakthrough single four Tim McGraw. Indian
- 26:58Outlaw was released as the lead sayingle off his sophomore
- 27:01album nineteen ninety four is not a moment too soon Here.
- 27:04McGraw's playful proclamations as a half Cherokee and chuckdaw Man
- 27:08make the song an exuberant and barnstorming country anthem. Number four,
- 27:14Don't Take the Girl. This gut punch of a ballad
- 27:17finds McGraw narrating the life of Johnny as he pleads
- 27:20with his father, a robber, and God not to take
- 27:23the girl. The nineteen ninety four country love story focuses
- 27:27on three pillars of Johnny's life and the depth of
- 27:30his selfless love for the girl. It really cuts deep,
- 27:33but it's one of McGraw's best songs ever. The number
- 27:37three song from Tim McGraw according to The Boot and
- 27:39Taste of Country, I Like It, I Love It. This
- 27:42epic country sing along jam puts listeners in an instant
- 27:45feel good mood. Released in nineteen ninety five's the lead
- 27:48single off McGraw's All I Want album number two, Please
- 27:52Remember Me. On this soaring heartbreak number, McGrath plaintively implores
- 27:55his ex to not forget him and all the times
- 27:58they spent together. And the number one song of Tim
- 28:02mc graw according to The Boot, Live Like You Were
- 28:04Dying his biggest song to date. Live Like You Were
- 28:07Dying one multiple Grammy, c M A and A c
- 28:09M Awards. At the heart of it, the powerful two
- 28:12thousand four songs speaks to every one from all walks
- 28:15of life and serves as a poignant reminder to live
- 28:17life to its fullest. Well. This concludes the reading of
