Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_02: Down in Mayberry, things are just grand.
- 0:04SPEAKER_02: It's the friendliest little podcast in the land.
- 0:09SPEAKER_02: Nip It in the bud.
- 0:17SPEAKER_03: Hi everybody.
- 0:18SPEAKER_03: Welcome back to our Andy Griffith retrospective podcast, Nip It in the Bud.
- 0:24SPEAKER_03: I'm Paul.
- 0:26SPEAKER_03: And I'm Tim.
- 0:28SPEAKER_03: And this week we're all the way up to episode three, Tim the guitar player.
- 0:33SPEAKER_03: And uh before we talk about that episode, one thing, I don't know if I pointed this out.
- 0:38SPEAKER_03: That you know, in the credits, when the uh the announcer says starring Andy Griffith, it's Ronnie Howard, you know, not Ron.
- 0:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it went by Ronnie back in those early days.
- 0:52SPEAKER_03: So just weird to hear it now, after all these years, Ronnie.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, because the adult Ron Howard has really carved out a space for himself as a director, producer.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: Uh it's almost like a different career, but same same person, hard to believe.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: It is.
- 1:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:16SPEAKER_03: So what are your thoughts on the guitar player?
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: Well, I I mean, first of all, I love the title.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: They they make it pretty straightforward what the episode's gonna be about, right?
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: They do.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: But uh, yeah, as always, love this episode.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Uh there are some good side players in it, and uh a lot of recognizable faces there too, between uh James Best as Jim Lindsay, uh best known to me anyway, as Roscoe P.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Coltrane from The Dukes of Hazard.
- 1:58SPEAKER_03: Me too.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's funny to see the the young uh James Best and uh and also Dub Taylor.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: Uh it was it took a minute when I first saw him to recognize him because his hair was cut short.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: And so many of his later roles, he's usually got bushy hair out to here and uh just looked a little different, all cleaned up like that.
- 2:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and even the under, you know, we don't see a mortuarian undertaker.
- 2:35SPEAKER_03: I can't remember seeing that uh business that often uh or ever again on Andy Griffith.
- 2:43SPEAKER_03: But the Undertaker uh is uh a famous character actor too, not maybe by the name of Jonathan, Jonathan Hole, but his career is incredible.
- 2:55SPEAKER_03: With uh once you look at his is he's always kind of irritated.
- 3:00SPEAKER_03: He always plays that role as someone who's just whether he's a waiter or a maider D or whatever, he's always kind of irked.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: Right, right.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, uh, I don't remember him much from the Andy Griffiths show, but yeah, he certainly got around, no doubt about it.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: Um kind of an interesting uh group were the musicians who were part of Bobby Fleet's band with the beat.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: That uh, well, of course, Bobby Fleet was played by uh character actor Henry Slate, and he himself is quite a player in this role, obviously, because he's he's part of the action, but he's he's really a card or kind of a wisecracker through the whole thing.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: Uh got a lot of good lines in this one.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: Um but then the musicians uh that play or the actors in this case who play the music musicians and are part of his band when they come through town were actual studio musicians.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: And it was kind of neat to run across some info about them that uh they were asked if they would be willing to appear on screen, and they agreed.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: And so it made it actually a lot easier for them to cast this episode because those guys were already a known quantity, they were around, they didn't have that much to do in terms of speaking, but they did uh join in and actually play a number with the guitar player uh at the end of the episode.
- 4:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I thought what this episode is just so different since you know we went from the new housekeeper to the manhunt, and and of course the pilot.
- 5:02SPEAKER_03: A lot of that emphasizing kind of um you know some what Andy's job.
- 5:08SPEAKER_03: And this one is just so different in the you know, with all the music and uh just you know, really uh you know, really uh yeah, you don't even think of what he does for, even though it it does he plays that Justice of the Peace role again.
- 5:25SPEAKER_03: He's uh he uh you know Barney's involved and there's some law and order stuff, but overall it's I thought for this early in a series, it's really different.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and it really kind of leads into a lot more of the musical aspects of the show that come later on.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: Uh it I I think that was probably really uh driving or driven by Andy Griffith with his background in music and actually coming from the theater, too.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: That uh yeah, I think he just loved having music on the show.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: And this was one of the first times we really see it very much.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: Um, but what did you think about uh similarities between this episode and the pilot as far as um the way Andy treated the outer towners and ultimately uh arrested them?
- 6:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's funny you say that because it reminded me exactly of the pilot where he kind of was doing the same changing the the fine, increasing it.
- 6:40SPEAKER_03: Just uh he wanted to punish them.
- 6:43SPEAKER_03: Uh we wanted to keep them, obviously, so that they would hear end up hearing Jim play the guitar, but um yeah, reminded me exactly uh the same and and then uh sort of uh uh Bobby Fleet is sort of like Danny Thomas, just kind of the big shot come in this hick town, and uh you know, and just being railroaded.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, it was that was really funny to to see, and just he played it to the hilt, too, the actor who played Bobby Fleet.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: But the whole uh premise was that uh this young guy, Jim Lindsay, played by James Best, is sort of a street musician around Mayberry.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: And Andy has to arrest him for disturbing the peace in front of the funeral parlor that's just a couple doors down from the courthouse.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: Um and then uh Andy thinks Jim has a lot of talent, but he Jim seems to be wary or or too timid, I guess, maybe to try and go out and get a job with a band.
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: But this is an opportunity for Andy to push and get him involved, and and it just so happens that Bobby Fleet and his band with a beat roll through town just at the right time.
- 8:16SPEAKER_03: You know what's what's uh kind of uh a similarity between many other episodes is well, I've never seen the the the funeral parlor before, and that's what was called a funeral parlor.
- 8:30SPEAKER_03: But uh the fact that the the angry shop owner who always wants somebody arrested, um, even though this time it was Orville, the undertaker, I thought uh boy, I my first thought was these shopkeepers don't they don't like you know anybody hanging around and uh and you know the other thing that's neat when you think of the future of the show is that right next to the funeral parlor is the barber shop, and we have not yet met the barber Floyd yet.
- 9:07SPEAKER_03: So it's kind of exciting to look at that barbershop and think, you know, right now in this episode, it's like just background, but in the future, Floyd's gonna be around for a long time.
- 9:21SPEAKER_03: Right, right.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, when when we see Andy strolling up at the beginning of the episode, I'm kind of looking for Floyd being in the crowd of people out on the sidewalk in front of the funeral parlor, but he's not.
- 9:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: Uh Floyd is yet to come.
- 9:39SPEAKER_03: You know, Andy did a really nice job of breaking up all of the people outside the funeral parlor just by asking, you know, to letting them know that the, you know, the owner of the uh you know the business uh feels you're you know, doesn't want people congregating out here.
- 9:58SPEAKER_03: So if you could please break this up.
- 10:02SPEAKER_03: Just you know, I just thought, what a nice, you know, just a what a great style uh that he handled that situation.
- 10:11SPEAKER_03: And um, you know, then he you know it's so friendly, and then next thing you know, he's arresting Jim.
- 10:19unknown: Right.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: That's that was fabulous the way he handled that whole situation.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: And uh same thing with arresting Jim.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: He's doing his duty by the owner of the shop, and but there's no resistance from Jim.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: He just walks practically arm in arm down the street with Andy.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: Um, but Andy even softens the blow by saying, Well, Aunt B's got fried chicken and mashed potatoes cooking today.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: And Jim looks like he hasn't had a whole lot of meals lately, so I think that was a kind of a draw for him.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: No problem, right?
- 11:03SPEAKER_03: Oh that and when he was in the cell, Aunt B comes in with that chicken and dumplings, and it looked what a meal that was.
- 11:12SPEAKER_03: I mean, that was lunch.
- 11:13SPEAKER_03: I thought that's like about two nights worth of dinners, you know.
- 11:17SPEAKER_03: Poor Jim, he's just I mean, I think that really triggered what you were saying about Andy, you know, wanting to help because he and push him because he could see how Jim was starved.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: Oh man, he was really tearing into that.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: And that's that's where the initial push comes, where he said Andy says something like, Jim, what are you gonna do with yourself?
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: That's that's what really provides a lot of the push or the impetus for the rest of the episode.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: That uh yeah, he wants to see Jim do something with himself and not just be wandering around as a street musician.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: He thinks he's got a lot more talent than he gives himself credit for.
- 12:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and Jim, a little um kind of an early uh preview of Back to the Future reminded me where Marty and Back to the Future would, and and you look at Jim, Jim doesn't, he's he's kind of talking like Marty's dad, like, you know, if I uh you know, what if I fail?
- 12:27SPEAKER_03: What if they they'll tell me don't call us, we'll call you, you know, all those things that um he was just talking himself out of uh success.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: Oh, what a great connection, Paul.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: I hadn't thought about that, but but that mimics what we see later years uh in Back to the Future.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: And that that was a movie very close to my heart because that was the movie that my wife and I saw for our second date.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: Nice back when.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so that's that one's got a soft spark spot for me.
- 13:10SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's awesome.
- 13:12SPEAKER_03: And you you know, a really nice um guitar medley there between Andy and Jim in that jail cell with Barney even uh you know, because remember in future episodes, Barney kind of they want him to just move his lips at the choir.
- 13:30SPEAKER_03: But he uh he did a nice job there joining in uh with some singing and he sure did.
- 13:38SPEAKER_03: And I thought, what a different how many shows of that time had an episode like this where there are two, you know, somebody's in a jail cell, the sheriff on the other side of it, Aunt B brings in the chicken and dumplings, just the door isn't even locked, just brings it right in.
- 13:57SPEAKER_03: And I think there's even uh really nice water picture.
- 14:00SPEAKER_03: Do you notice that?
- 14:02SPEAKER_03: It kind of has a yeah.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: Um I didn't I now that you say it, I remember that being there, but it didn't didn't impress me at the time.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: But yeah, you think, wow, that's a pretty good service, right?
- 14:17SPEAKER_03: It's like an apartment or a hotel room.
- 14:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 14:22SPEAKER_03: No wonder why Otis loves it there so much.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: Really, really.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: Well, uh a little interesting tidbit too about James Best and playing the guitar.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: I'm glad you brought that up because I came across a little bit of uh how James Best got plucked for this episode that his agent called one day and said, you know, would you like to do the Andy Griffiths show?
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: And he said, Sure, I'd love to.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: And uh the casting woman, who was a woman named Ruth Birch, uh asked him then uh, Jimmy, do you play the guitar?
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: And he said, I have two guitars.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: And so when he got on his set, uh they handed him some music and said, Here you go.
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: And he he's like, Music for what?
- 15:19SPEAKER_00: He said Rock and Roll Rosie from Raleigh, I think was the uh tune that he plays later on towards the end of the episode.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: And uh they give him that and he says, Wait a minute, I can't read music, I just play by ear.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: That's when they said, You said you could play the guitar.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: They said, I have two guitars.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's great.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: That kind of cracked me up when I read that a little bit.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: Um, and interestingly though, he uh he is a cousin of the Everly brothers, who did know their way around a few guitars, I guess.
- 16:02SPEAKER_03: He really has an amazing extended family, and and you know, I like the camera work too that it you know it zoomed in on a close-up of both Andy and and and James hands when they're playing the guitar too.
- 16:19SPEAKER_03: So there was a lot of you know uh pointing out the you know the you know kind of the the guitar playing.
- 16:28SPEAKER_03: Dub Taylor is the postmaster, so I don't know that I've never really seen a postmaster in the uh show before, but that was his debut as a postmaster, and and I and he's fighting with Barty because he wants Barty has a bunch of wanted posters, and I guess Dub's a little bit jealous that Barty has so many, and Dub doesn't have anything new to put up.
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, that is just a great bit between those two.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: They're getting a little hot under the collar about it, but uh Andy handles that pretty good.
- 17:05SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 17:07SPEAKER_03: Kind of tells Dub you don't have quantity, but you have quality.
- 17:11SPEAKER_03: You have the murderers and the bank robbers, and we don't have that level of criminal.
- 17:18SPEAKER_03: And then Barney gets a little jealous of Dub.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it completely turns around there, and and then all of a sudden Barney wants to trade him uh a couple of his criminals for a couple of dub's criminals.
- 17:34SPEAKER_00: It's like kids with their baseball cards.
- 17:37SPEAKER_03: It was it was really a funny moment there.
- 17:41SPEAKER_03: When Bobby Fleet shows up, and you know, there's that little discussion Andy and Barney have that they haven't had any musicians come through town.
- 17:52SPEAKER_03: They had, I guess, a one-man band come.
- 17:55SPEAKER_03: Did you hear where that one-man band was from?
- 17:58SPEAKER_03: Altoona.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: Oh, Altoona.
- 18:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah, for the those lists that we're uh Tim and I are in Pennsylvania, and just to hear our uh local uh little local city, Altoona, mentioned, I went back to double-check that to think.
- 18:16SPEAKER_03: Did I hear Altoona?
- 18:18SPEAKER_03: And uh sure was.
- 18:20SPEAKER_03: You know, wasn't Bobby Fleet though not what you'd expect?
- 18:24SPEAKER_03: He was really uh insulting of everything from the waitress that they're in the diner to Andy himself, you name it.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: Uh I mean there were some great lines flying around, but uh they were pretty insulting about the hick town and the hick sheriff and that no but if they had a beauty contest in this town, nobody would win.
- 18:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that was a rough one.
- 18:56SPEAKER_03: Uh and and Barney uh had a couple of uh commentary with Andy afterward calling Bobby a smart alecky and a joke cracker.
- 19:08SPEAKER_03: I don't I don't know that I heard anybody quite say I would agree with them on both, but uh never really heard those terms.
- 19:16SPEAKER_03: I like that joke cracker.
- 19:17SPEAKER_03: I thought that's the truth.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: I mean he was firing off the one-liners at everybody.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: Um, I think my my favorite was when he uh turned Andy's badge over and said, What do you got on the flip side?
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: Oh, it found return to Wyatt ERP.
- 19:39SPEAKER_03: Andy really didn't know what to say to him.
- 19:42SPEAKER_03: And but you know, once you do that to Andy, you know the wheels are gonna turn, and and that's when he he knew that they they didn't have any interest in listening to Jim play the guitar, but if he could find a way to keep him there overnight, yeah.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: That that would do it.
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: That then he'd be forced to listen to him.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: And that was an interesting part for me, is that uh once Andy did have the band and Bobby Fleet in the jailhouse, uh he sends Barney out to bring Jim in.
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: Again, on kind of a trumped-up situation to try and bring them together.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: Uh, but Jim didn't want to come and he didn't want to be there, and he wasn't gonna play for anybody who was in a cell and forced to listen to him.
- 20:39SPEAKER_03: By the the insults from uh Bobby that uh uh he's he starts playing and wow, what a nice set that was with uh all the cellmates uh joining in, and yeah, and uh that was like a really nice uh piece of music.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: It was.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: It was pretty jazzy, I thought they really got going there once everybody joined in.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: First the drummer started tapping his sticks on the cell bars, and uh then the other guys picked up their instruments and started to play.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: And man, they were they were really rocking it for the Andy Griffiths show.
- 21:22SPEAKER_03: You know, something I forgot to mention, Tim, was um when when Bobby was upset about being jailed and he bad miles Andy in front of Opie.
- 21:35SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 21:37SPEAKER_03: And Opie kicks him.
- 21:41SPEAKER_03: A nice way of weaving in Opie didn't have a big part this week and a big role, and either did Aunt B, but their presence was felt, and she's even after she dropped off that food to uh Jim, she was worried about what time Andy's coming home for dinner.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and and Barney uh Barney I think uh alludes to some of his future character by saying, Yeah, I'm uh because Andy says, Aren't you gonna go and get some food too?
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: I'll stay here with the prisoner, kind of thing.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: And Barney said, Yeah, I'm famished.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: I'm about to faint.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: That's that's uh pure Barney that we see later.
- 22:29SPEAKER_00: He for such a uh slight kind of guy, he uh was reported to really pack it away.
- 22:38SPEAKER_03: And that but his blood sugar, he would often give those.
- 22:43SPEAKER_03: If his blood sugar level isn't right, he's no good to anybody, he used to say.
- 22:49SPEAKER_03: But I thought that's funny you point that out because I I I noticed that too.
- 22:54SPEAKER_03: I was surprised that Aunt B didn't invite Barney over.
- 22:58SPEAKER_03: It seemed like Barney was going his own way to eat.
- 23:01SPEAKER_00: Right, right.
- 23:02SPEAKER_00: He was probably going to the the over to the diner where and met up with Bobby Fleet.
- 23:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: That reminds me, I forgot I wanted to mention that.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: Uh I was gonna ask you whether you had ever remembered uh a scene like that in the in the diner, because you could actually the way they shot that part of the episode, you could actually see through the front window of the diner over to the courthouse.
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: And uh anytime I ever remembered seeing it, it was like, no, I think you just saw them in a booth or at the counter or something, but you really which probably was a lot easier for them to shoot than having all that activity, people walking out on the sidewalks and driving through the streets um that you see in the background of that part of the episode where they are in the diner.
- 24:08SPEAKER_03: Yes, that's true, that's very different.
- 24:12SPEAKER_03: And even the diner with the waitress and you know, nobody familiar, you know, as as the diner would become, um, you know, with Juanita, uh Barney's uh uh mystery uh uh girlfriend.
- 24:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I uh I don't remember Juanita ever actually appearing, uh, but she was certainly a character by phone because Barney would call her up from the uh courthouse and be um uh wooing her on the phone or Nandy would always catch him in the in the moment, which made it even so make Barney so angry.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: When uh Andy is is sort of negotiating for Jim at the end of the episode uh where Jim and the the band and Bobby Fleet they they've all been playing together and uh did that nice number that uh Andy starts in with so if Jim were available and blah blah blah, if if if and then Jim interrupts him and Andy said, Not now, Jim.
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: I you interrupted me right during all of my ifin.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: I love that little bit.
- 25:37SPEAKER_00: That that was probably one of my favorite little tidbits there.
- 25:42SPEAKER_03: Andy did a great job of you know, not only of helping Jim's career by trying to talk him into you know being more ambitious.
- 25:53SPEAKER_03: He he didn't bite on that.
- 25:55SPEAKER_03: But then when Bobby came to town, I mean it Andy really arranged all of that uh all for the benefit of Jim.
- 26:03SPEAKER_03: It really wasn't for himself, it was to help a fellow townsman out, somebody with talent, and he gets some more money.
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, that's right.
- 26:15SPEAKER_00: Bobby Fleet first offers him like$75 to$100 a week, and Andy's like, well, I guess this isn't gonna work out because you can't, you know, like he's talking up how Jim has all these other opportunities around Mayberry, which he doesn't, but Bobby Fleet doesn't know any of that.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: And uh and it's kind of shades of something we see in a later episode, uh where Andy's a pretty good salesman when he's working uh plying his trade there and trying to, like you said, trying to uh help out one of the other folks in the community who he thinks has talent or or could use a boost.
- 27:00SPEAKER_00: It's really great to see.
- 27:02SPEAKER_03: And a and a little nod to the 60s, uh Bobby, even though Bobby looks like an older man in that uh episode, he likes to use the word dig a lot, like that he digs something, and he and that just confuses Andy because uh his his knowledge of the word dig isn't the same as Bobby's and it sets up some some uh pretty funny uh mentions of and especially when Andy says uh uh you dig something.
- 27:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, doesn't he say something to Jim like uh now Bobby said he digs you, so you gotta go and dig him right back.
- 27:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's right.
- 27:46SPEAKER_03: And and even when you know they're leaving town, Barney starts talking about a harmonica player that is really talented.
- 27:57SPEAKER_03: And and Jim and uh Bobby was willing to to listen to the harmonica player until it became Barney.
- 28:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Barney pulls out a harmonica and he was really bad.
- 28:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's playing jingle bells, I think.
- 28:18SPEAKER_03: They they drive away, and then Andy kind of ends it by telling Barney that Bobby doesn't dig him.
- 28:27SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he doesn't.
- 28:30SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, so uh great, great way to bring it all back together there at the end.
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: Uh I always I always love those little epilogues that they toss in at the end.
- 28:43SPEAKER_00: Uh they they are worth uh the price of admission right there.
- 28:47SPEAKER_03: And those are the pieces that when I believe it was when TBS first came along many years ago, they they they bought the Indy Griffith reruns and did not show those.
- 29:00SPEAKER_03: So I remember that being um you know, I noticed that something was missing from watching them on other, but never really, you know, watched it enough to notice anything.
- 29:10SPEAKER_03: But I remember that becoming like sort of a story about you know the people complaining that these were it was all for time, that was the only reason they did it, they had more commercials, but uh then they uh they they righted that ship and and uh to this day we get the because you're right, those those are just a nice way of wrapping up the episode.
- 29:35SPEAKER_03: Do you notice all the applause again?
- 29:37SPEAKER_03: Like there's this audience watching, um, who uh really doesn't exist, but they applaud the music, they applaud the ending, they um they're really into it.
