- 0:00Speaker 1: Hi, guys. What's up, dude? I guess I should use
- 0:03Speaker 1: this opportunity to tell the people I have to come
- 0:08Speaker 1: clean about something.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Okay.
- 0:11Speaker 1: I am in the United Kingdom. Ah.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Oh, is that why your background is different?
- 0:16Speaker 2: No, it's nothing.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Wait, what?
- 0:20Speaker 3: Wait, you mean you're not in America right now?
- 0:23Speaker 1: No, no. You guys know. I didn't want to be
- 0:26Speaker 1: dishonest to our listeners. My girlfriend has a sick older
- 0:31Speaker 1: relative and needed to come back and be by his bedside.
- 0:35Speaker 1: And I wanted to be by her side because no one,
- 0:41Speaker 1: as Donald could attest, was a more loving human being
- 0:45Speaker 1: in the world when our friend Nick was sick than
- 0:48Speaker 1: my girlfriends. And so she rushed here, and then I
- 0:52Speaker 1: rushed here. We both had to quarantine for two weeks.
- 0:56Speaker 1: And so the last couple shows, I didn't want to
- 0:58Speaker 1: talk about it on the show because I didn't want to...
- 1:00Speaker 1: I just didn't want to get into it. But I
- 1:03Speaker 1: just want... In case it got out that I happened
- 1:05Speaker 1: to be here, I didn't want to be dishonest to
- 1:07Speaker 1: our listeners that I'm in London.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Do you have to wear masks in London?
- 1:13Speaker 1: Yes. Well, I'll tell you, it's weird. It's sort of
- 1:17Speaker 1: a weird hybrid. They're... they're largely open. Everything's kind of open.
- 1:24Speaker 1: But you wear masks when you go inside a place
- 1:28Speaker 1: like a restaurant or a store. There's always hand sanitizer
- 1:32Speaker 1: when you first walk in. When you go in a restaurant,
- 1:34Speaker 1: they take your temperature. They have a very interesting system
- 1:38Speaker 1: that I wish the United States would one day be
- 1:40Speaker 1: smart enough to adopt. And that is when you go
- 1:42Speaker 1: in a restaurant, you scan a QR code. And then
- 1:48Speaker 1: it knows who was in the restaurant at all times.
- 1:51Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:52Speaker 1: So it's easy to contact trace. If there were to
- 1:54Speaker 1: be an outbreak, yeah, they can contact trace and say, hey,
- 1:57Speaker 1: you were here at this time. That's really smart. Walking
- 2:01Speaker 1: around the streets, there's not a lot of mask wearing.
- 2:05Speaker 1: I wear it and Florence wears it, but it's not
- 2:09Speaker 1: nearly as prevalent as it is, obviously, where we are
- 2:13Speaker 1: in Los Angeles. You know, there's spacing in restaurants. The
- 2:18Speaker 1: few times we've eaten, we've eaten outside. But they do
- 2:21Speaker 1: like they skip every other table. And then sometimes in
- 2:24Speaker 1: a restaurant, they'll have like a plexiglass screen between tables.
- 2:29Speaker 1: That's sort of, you know, some company quickly put something
- 2:33Speaker 1: into production because it's like it looks like some company
- 2:36Speaker 1: is manufacturing them.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Dude, I miss you, man. I'm not going to lie, man.
- 2:39Speaker 3: I wish you were here. I made fried chicken the
- 2:41Speaker 3: other night. It was delicious.
- 2:42Speaker 1: It looked so good. I saw that on your Instagram.
- 2:45Speaker 1: What's your secret?
- 2:46Speaker 3: So here's the thing.
- 2:47Speaker 4: I have buddies that I grew up with that now
- 2:50Speaker 4: own restaurants and went to culinary school and now are
- 2:55Speaker 4: chefs in restaurants and stuff like that.
- 2:57Speaker 3: A lot of them.
- 2:58Speaker 4: My brother did the same thing. And some of them
- 3:01Speaker 4: have developed niches. And one of my buddies makes pizza
- 3:05Speaker 4: for a living. Brick oven pizza for a living.
- 3:08Speaker 3: And I.
- 3:10Speaker 4: my brother Olamide, whose music we had on the podcast,
- 3:14Speaker 4: he sent me a uni for my birthday. Somehow he
- 3:20Speaker 4: bought it and sent it to me. He was like,
- 3:21Speaker 4: you know, I hope you have fun. And I was like, well,
- 3:24Speaker 4: you know, and he also works at the restaurant as
- 3:26Speaker 4: a bartender that my buddy that I grew up with owns.
- 3:30Speaker 4: And I was like, yo, so maybe he could send
- 3:33Speaker 4: me that pizza dough recipe.
- 3:35Speaker 3: And he sent it.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Wow.
- 3:37Speaker 3: I was like, oh, okay. So I started... Making pizza
- 3:40Speaker 3: in the uni.
- 3:41Speaker 4: Then my boy, who has this restaurant in Dallas, saw
- 3:48Speaker 4: the love that my boy got when I posted on
- 3:51Speaker 4: Instagram the pizza, and he sent me the recipe for
- 3:57Speaker 4: his famous fried chicken that he has in Dallas.
- 4:01Speaker 3: And let me tell you, first of all, the pizza's phenomenal.
- 4:03Speaker 3: It was amazing. And I now know how to make
- 4:06Speaker 3: pizza for days. The fried chicken. Oh, my God. First
- 4:14Speaker 3: of all, I love fried chicken anyway. You know what
- 4:16Speaker 3: I mean?
- 4:17Speaker 4: I've always loved fried chicken. And my wife is a huge,
- 4:20Speaker 4: like fried chicken, on fried chicken Monday, there's this restaurant
- 4:23Speaker 4: around the way that has fried chicken Mondays. We would
- 4:25Speaker 4: go every Monday because she loves fried chicken so much.
- 4:28Speaker 4: When she was pregnant with Wilder, that's all she would
- 4:30Speaker 4: want was fried chicken, right? Fried chicken and mashed potatoes.
- 4:34Speaker 1: So do you need a deep fryer?
- 4:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:37Speaker 4: Now, problem is the deep fryer I had only can
- 4:39Speaker 4: accommodate two pieces of chicken.
- 4:41Speaker 3: So it took me up to two and a half hours.
- 4:43Speaker 1: To make all of that chicken.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Oh, my God. Oh, my God. So that's the dilemma.
- 4:49Speaker 3: So I got to figure out a way to.
- 4:51Speaker 1: What about an air fryer? Someone told me about an
- 4:53Speaker 1: air fryer. Have you tried that?
- 4:55Speaker 4: Not what you do with this chicken. You don't want
- 4:57Speaker 4: to air fry it, man. You want to fry that
- 4:59Speaker 4: bad boy in some oil.
- 5:00Speaker 3: That's good.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Listen, air frying is great for health. and for cholesterol
- 5:05Speaker 4: purposes and stuff like that.
- 5:08Speaker 1: But it's an insult to your buddy's recipe.
- 5:10Speaker 4: It's an insult to chicken, period. A chicken's like, you're
- 5:13Speaker 4: going to air fry me? You're not going to fry
- 5:16Speaker 4: me in some grease?
- 5:20Speaker 1: By the way, we don't have to say what we
- 5:21Speaker 1: were talking about, but Donald was having a disagreement with
- 5:25Speaker 1: his spouse, and I texted him in quotes what I
- 5:28Speaker 1: thought he should say to her, and I wondered if
- 5:31Speaker 1: you tried out what I wrote.
- 5:33Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, no. It's not a good day
- 5:36Speaker 4: to do that. It's not a good day to do that.
- 5:39Speaker 1: I thought it was kind of funny. I was kind
- 5:41Speaker 1: of trying to be like your Cyrano, where I was saying,
- 5:43Speaker 1: say this.
- 5:44Speaker 3: I appreciate that.
- 5:45Speaker 4: But no, you know, this whole homeschooling, Zoom schooling that
- 5:53Speaker 4: the schools.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Are doing right now with all the students.
- 5:57Speaker 4: It really does put a lot of pressure on the
- 5:58Speaker 4: parents to make sure the kids are doing their job and,
- 6:01Speaker 4: you know, are sitting in front of the zoom and
- 6:03Speaker 4: are doing their lessons and stuff like that. And, you know,
- 6:07Speaker 4: we're in our second day and she is, you know,
- 6:10Speaker 4: she's not happy about the fact that she, her day
- 6:13Speaker 4: is she's, she's a teacher also, you know what I mean?
- 6:16Speaker 4: We have, we have teachers at school and then, you know,
- 6:21Speaker 4: you're supposed to send your kid to school for school
- 6:25Speaker 4: and not have to worry about it. But, It's not
- 6:28Speaker 4: like that with this whole Zoom school thing going on.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I have to say, it made me a bit sad
- 6:32Speaker 1: when I saw your kids in their adorable school uniforms.
- 6:37Speaker 1: And then in my brain, I was like, oh, they're
- 6:40Speaker 1: not going to school, so they wear the uniforms when
- 6:43Speaker 1: they sit in front of the computer?
- 6:45Speaker 3: Yeah, the school prefers that.
- 6:48Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know. As someone who's not a
- 6:51Speaker 1: parent and just witnessing it, that just kind of made
- 6:53Speaker 1: me sad.
- 6:54Speaker 4: Well, I would prefer that than them being in their
- 6:56Speaker 4: pajamas all day.
- 6:57Speaker 1: No, no, I know. I understand the idea behind it.
- 7:00Speaker 1: It's just these poor kids are all, I don't know,
- 7:05Speaker 1: not to be Debbie Downer, but I don't know what
- 7:07Speaker 1: this does to these kids that are in such crucial
- 7:10Speaker 1: times of their lives where they should be socializing. I
- 7:15Speaker 1: don't know. I just put a little bit of a
- 7:17Speaker 1: lump in my throat. I got to be honest.
- 7:19Speaker 3: I will say this.
- 7:20Speaker 4: My kids right now are into it. Because they spent
- 7:24Speaker 4: a whole summer social distancing from everyone.
- 7:28Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 7:30Speaker 4: There were very few playdates this summer because of COVID.
- 7:36Speaker 4: Not to say we didn't meet up with friends and
- 7:39Speaker 4: do outside activities where the kids weren't all up on
- 7:44Speaker 4: each other. But social distancing has thrown a monkey wrench in,
- 7:51Speaker 4: if you're a kid, it's fucked up. you know, to
- 7:54Speaker 4: be a kid right now when you're supposed to go
- 7:56Speaker 4: out in the summer and run around with your friends
- 7:58Speaker 4: and explore and everything like that. And you guys can't
- 8:01Speaker 4: get close to each other or, you know what I mean?
- 8:04Speaker 4: So with this whole Zoom thing, it's really interesting to watch,
- 8:07Speaker 4: but my kids are into it. They have their own space.
- 8:10Speaker 4: Like my son goes into his room and he, you know,
- 8:13Speaker 4: gets to chit chat with his friends on Zoom and learn.
- 8:17Speaker 1: How does that work though? Like during the class, so
- 8:19Speaker 1: like the teacher is leading a class, but then like,
- 8:21Speaker 1: do they have time where they can, I don't know.
- 8:25Speaker 1: How does this work when they socialize? I know there's
- 8:27Speaker 1: a lot of parents listening to this being like, oh,
- 8:29Speaker 1: this guy's clueless. But I don't have kids, so I
- 8:31Speaker 1: have no idea how it works. Do they have time
- 8:33Speaker 1: where they can chit-chat with their friends?
- 8:35Speaker 3: Oh, absolutely.
- 8:37Speaker 4: And the great thing about it is that they also
- 8:39Speaker 4: have times where the teachers are like, all right, go
- 8:41Speaker 4: outside or go, if you don't have a backyard, go
- 8:45Speaker 4: someplace and just clear your mind and let's not think
- 8:47Speaker 4: about school for 30 minutes.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Go.
- 8:50Speaker 4: And my son will come downstairs and he'll either go
- 8:52Speaker 4: outside and shoot hoops or He'll stay inside and be like,
- 8:55Speaker 4: can I watch the rest of Teen Titans?
- 8:57Speaker 3: Go. And I'm like, yeah, sure. No problem.
- 8:59Speaker 4: Like, there's breaks in between where the kids can, you know,
- 9:03Speaker 4: get away. And then at lunchtime, they eat together in
- 9:07Speaker 4: front of the thing.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Really? In front of the Zoom so they can.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Talk to each other. But how do they all talk
- 9:10Speaker 1: at the same time? Aren't they all, like, interrupting each other?
- 9:13Speaker 3: Yeah, sure.
- 9:14Speaker 4: But they get to, you know, you get to at
- 9:17Speaker 4: least see people while you eat.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Yeah, you know.
- 9:20Speaker 4: And if you have enough charisma... Like most kids do.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Like most phasons.
- 9:26Speaker 4: Like most phasons do. You can command Zoom and be like, yo,
- 9:30Speaker 4: everybody shut the fuck up.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Listen, listen, listen.
- 9:35Speaker 1: And then fart. Just like his dad. Just like his dad.
- 9:39Speaker 3: His dad loves a fart joke.
- 9:41Speaker 1: That kid has no shortage of personality, I can tell you.
- 9:44Speaker 3: He has a lot of personality.
- 9:45Speaker 1: He's going to be an actor. You know they're both
- 9:47Speaker 1: going to be actors.
- 9:48Speaker 4: I hope that whatever they do... I just hope that
- 9:51Speaker 4: they're happy when they're older and they find what it
- 9:53Speaker 4: is that they want to do. That's all I can
- 9:56Speaker 4: ask for. Me as an actor and knowing... going through
- 10:00Speaker 4: all of the things that I go through and the
- 10:02Speaker 4: anxiety I have about jobs and not having jobs, I
- 10:06Speaker 4: wouldn't wish that on anyone.
- 10:08Speaker 1: I wouldn't want my kid to be an actor either.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:11Speaker 4: When you think about it, and people are like, fucking,
- 10:13Speaker 4: I could do that job. I get this a lot
- 10:16Speaker 4: from so many people. Are you an actor?
- 10:19Speaker 3: I could do it. I could be that. That's easy, man.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Anybody can be an actor. Yeah, you're right.
- 10:23Speaker 4: Anybody can be an actor. But do you have the
- 10:25Speaker 4: stamina to keep it up, dude? You can act all
- 10:27Speaker 4: you want, but do you have the stamina? Do you
- 10:30Speaker 4: truly have the stamina to hear no more than you've
- 10:32Speaker 4: ever heard it in your life? And then when you
- 10:34Speaker 4: do hear yes, to be able to do what's necessary
- 10:40Speaker 4: to maintain.
- 10:42Speaker 1: We've been so blessed and lucky, and not that we
- 10:45Speaker 1: didn't hustle our asses off our whole lives, but in
- 10:48Speaker 1: addition to hustling our asses off and working at it
- 10:50Speaker 1: and working at it and not giving up, we then
- 10:53Speaker 1: had a beautiful roll of the dice and have had
- 10:56Speaker 1: successful careers thus far. I know, and you know, so
- 11:01Speaker 1: many people that are fucking brilliant actors, and you just
- 11:05Speaker 1: don't know their name. And their number didn't come up.
- 11:10Speaker 1: And that's just, I learned that early on as a kid.
- 11:12Speaker 1: I would do stuff in the city and do like
- 11:14Speaker 1: free play readings. You know, a play reading is, you know,
- 11:19Speaker 1: the playwright wants to hear the play out loud and
- 11:22Speaker 1: the cast writer gets a few actors to come together
- 11:24Speaker 1: and read the play and no one's getting paid. And
- 11:26Speaker 1: I remember being a child in some of these things
- 11:29Speaker 1: and I would look, watching some genius New York theater
- 11:32Speaker 1: actor do a scene and I'd be like, my jaw's
- 11:35Speaker 1: on the floor. This person's like, I've never seen them before.
- 11:39Speaker 1: I've never seen them in a movie, never seen them
- 11:41Speaker 1: on a TV show. And they're the fucking best doctor
- 11:43Speaker 1: I've ever seen. And they're here in the basement of
- 11:45Speaker 1: a church doing this free play reading with me. And
- 11:48Speaker 1: I remember even a very, very young age being like,
- 11:50Speaker 1: this is crazy. This is scary. Like, and so, so
- 11:52Speaker 1: from me, my whole career, I always was searching for
- 11:58Speaker 1: other ways to make a living. If my number didn't
- 12:00Speaker 1: come up, you know, I knew I'd be a cinematographer
- 12:02Speaker 1: or obviously I'd be a filmmaker or I'd be on
- 12:04Speaker 1: the camera crew. I'd be a first assistant director. I
- 12:07Speaker 1: had all sorts of other plans if I wasn't lucky
- 12:10Speaker 1: enough to have my number come up because I saw,
- 12:13Speaker 1: oh my God, these people are living hand to mouth
- 12:15Speaker 1: and look how good they are. They're better than almost
- 12:17Speaker 1: everyone on TV, you know?
- 12:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I never lived that way. That's incredible, man. I
- 12:24Speaker 4: said to myself, if I'm going to do this, I
- 12:25Speaker 4: got to go all in. And from an early age,
- 12:28Speaker 4: that's all I thought about was being an actor. If
- 12:31Speaker 4: I had an opportunity to read something, I would go
- 12:34Speaker 4: and do it. And You know, I was very lucky
- 12:37Speaker 4: to have parents who supported me up until I was
- 12:39Speaker 4: 23 years old.
- 12:41Speaker 3: I lived at home.
- 12:42Speaker 4: And even after my big break, when shit, you know,
- 12:46Speaker 4: still stalled and wasn't really going, my parents were there
- 12:49Speaker 4: to support me until I was able to support myself. And,
- 12:56Speaker 4: you know, my jobs, if I hadn't become an actor,
- 13:00Speaker 4: I would have been so fucked because I chose not
- 13:02Speaker 4: to go to college. I chose not to, you know...
- 13:06Speaker 4: get a conventional job. I went all in with the
- 13:09Speaker 4: acting and, you know, I've been lucky. Like you said, I,
- 13:13Speaker 4: like you said, I was very, very lucky. We were
- 13:15Speaker 4: both very, very lucky to have our numbers called.
- 13:17Speaker 1: I advise people who, if you really, if it is
- 13:20Speaker 1: your passion and it really needs to be like the
- 13:23Speaker 1: only thing you want to do with your, your life
- 13:25Speaker 1: because it isn't, you know, when you see a successful actor,
- 13:32Speaker 1: you might think they made it look easy, but it's not,
- 13:34Speaker 1: it's not easy by any such imagination. So, But if
- 13:37Speaker 1: you're committed to it and it's your passion, like my
- 13:38Speaker 1: nephew right now is going to school for it. It's
- 13:40Speaker 1: his passion. My advice is to study other things within
- 13:45Speaker 1: the field where you could make a living. Your side
- 13:48Speaker 1: hustle doesn't need to be doing something that has nothing
- 13:52Speaker 1: to do with the industry. So study other crew positions
- 13:56Speaker 1: if production interests you that might interest you. Become a writer.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Learn producing. Learn all sorts of skills. That would at
- 14:05Speaker 1: least allow you to stay within the industry that you
- 14:07Speaker 1: might love. But becoming a successful actor is just such
- 14:12Speaker 1: a crazy lottery. I always say if you're a really,
- 14:17Speaker 1: really good actor, you've bought a lot of lottery tickets.
- 14:22Speaker 1: If you're great looking... like Donald's favorite doc partner, then
- 14:26Speaker 1: you've bought more lottery tickets. If you're both, you have
- 14:30Speaker 1: a shit ton of lottery tickets, but it's still a
- 14:33Speaker 1: fucking lottery. Right.
- 14:34Speaker 3: That doesn't necessarily mean your number's going to get caught.
- 14:36Speaker 1: No.
- 14:37Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 14:38Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, and since I've become an actor, I
- 14:40Speaker 4: have figured out ways to get other skill sets, like
- 14:47Speaker 4: stop motion animation. So now if, let's say, it dried up,
- 14:52Speaker 4: I know I'm good enough now as of a stop
- 14:54Speaker 4: motion animator to get a job in the stop motion industry.
- 14:58Speaker 3: At least I think I am. You know what I mean?
- 15:00Speaker 1: I think you are. But what do I know? But
- 15:02Speaker 1: I think you are.
- 15:03Speaker 5: Right.
- 15:03Speaker 1: You could also be a line chef and make fried chicken.
- 15:06Speaker 4: Dude, I could make some fried chicken for you. I
- 15:08Speaker 4: could call up my boy and be like, listen, it
- 15:10Speaker 4: ain't going well.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Let me work the kitchen.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:14Speaker 4: And if he says I don't have room in the
- 15:15Speaker 4: kitchen for you, I'll be like, well, I got your recipe.
- 15:19Speaker 4: And I'm going to make that shit myself.
- 15:22Speaker 1: And you know what I know about you?
- 15:23Speaker 2: Bam!
- 15:23Speaker 3: I'm going to make money selling chicken.
- 15:25Speaker 1: The thing about you is that you're a hustler. And
- 15:27Speaker 1: if shit hit the fan and you had to go.
- 15:30Speaker 4: I work at McDonald's. If shit hit the fan, I
- 15:33Speaker 4: would work at McDonald's, dog. I don't give a fuck, man.
- 15:36Speaker 3: You know what?
- 15:36Speaker 1: In a couple months, you'd be the manager of the place,
- 15:38Speaker 1: and then maybe in a couple years, you'd own one
- 15:40Speaker 1: because you fucking hustle.
- 15:42Speaker 3: That's right.
- 15:42Speaker 1: You gotta hustle, Donald.
- 15:44Speaker 3: That's what we do.
- 15:45Speaker 4: And on that note, 5, 6, 7, 8.
- 15:51Speaker 1: About a bunch of docs and nurses. And a janitor
- 15:55Speaker 1: who loved to hate.
- 15:56Speaker 3: I said he's got stories.
- 15:58Speaker 1: That we all should know. So gather round to hear our...
- 16:03Speaker 1: Gather round.
- 16:04Speaker 2: To hear our.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Scrubs Rewatch Show with Zach and Donald. We're back!
- 16:12Speaker 3: We're back with my own private practice. Jay Moore, our
- 16:16Speaker 3: guest star.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Jay Moore. Yeah, very funny.
- 16:18Speaker 3: Directed by... One of our favorite directors, Mark Buckland.
- 16:23Speaker 1: I got to say, Jay Moore, I haven't seen in
- 16:25Speaker 1: a bit. I knew he was a famous, he was
- 16:27Speaker 1: a stand-up, right? And I think he may have been
- 16:30Speaker 1: on SNL for a season or two.
- 16:33Speaker 3: Maybe.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Will you look that up for me?
- 16:35Speaker 4: I know that Anthony Michael Hall was on SNL for
- 16:37Speaker 4: a season or two, and they kind of look alike.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Right. But he's really good in this episode.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Dude, he's very good in this episode.
- 16:45Speaker 1: He's the perfect example of a guest star that comes
- 16:46Speaker 1: on And I've said this before. It's intimidating. You're coming
- 16:49Speaker 1: into a well-oiled machine. All these people know each other.
- 16:51Speaker 1: They've got a zillion inside jokes. Everybody knows it. And
- 16:54Speaker 1: you're the only person. And you've got to get out
- 16:57Speaker 1: of your head and just show up and be funny
- 17:00Speaker 1: because you're the guest star. And it's not time to
- 17:02Speaker 1: be like, oh, I'm insecure. It's like you can be
- 17:04Speaker 1: insecure all you want in your fucking dressing room. But
- 17:07Speaker 1: when you come to set, you've got to come to play.
- 17:09Speaker 1: And this guy's riffing. He's confident. You know he made
- 17:12Speaker 1: up a lot of that shit. I could just tell
- 17:13Speaker 1: from his vibe he was just kind of making it his.
- 17:16Speaker 1: And it's just really, really impressive. It's a great lesson, again,
- 17:20Speaker 1: in the spirit of giving actors advice, that you've got
- 17:24Speaker 1: to hit the ground running if you're a guest star
- 17:25Speaker 1: on a show like this. And he does that.
- 17:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I remember when we were shooting and thinking, oh,
- 17:29Speaker 4: this guy's so fucking annoying.
- 17:31Speaker 3: He's always on. He's always on. He's always on. And
- 17:34Speaker 3: then you watch the episode, and it's perfect. Look, I
- 17:37Speaker 3: get it. You know what I mean?
- 17:38Speaker 4: And then that became kind of my thing when I'm
- 17:40Speaker 4: on set now.
- 17:41Speaker 3: You know what I mean? If it's a comedy... And
- 17:43Speaker 3: I need to keep the comedy going. I'm going to
- 17:45Speaker 3: be on for a bit. You know what I mean?
- 17:47Speaker 3: I'm going to be on the whole time we're working.
- 17:50Speaker 1: I don't think I've ever seen you off unless you're woozy.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Unless I'm woozy. Right.
- 17:54Speaker 4: Unless I'm woozy, I'm always on.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Yeah. Other than being woozy.
- 17:57Speaker 4: But this is one of those lessons right there where
- 17:59Speaker 4: it was like, all right. Like even when we cut,
- 18:01Speaker 4: he's joking around with crew. He's joking around with actors. He's,
- 18:05Speaker 4: you know, he didn't shut down. You know, at the
- 18:07Speaker 4: time I was like, this is so crazy.
- 18:09Speaker 3: This is annoying me.
- 18:10Speaker 4: Because it's a joke after a joke after a joke
- 18:12Speaker 4: after a joke after a joke.
- 18:13Speaker 3: And then you watch the episode and he's so good.
- 18:17Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 18:18Speaker 1: He's really good at playing that. Yeah, Joel said he
- 18:19Speaker 1: was on for two years, 93 and 95. He's so
- 18:22Speaker 1: good at playing that cocky, confident guy. And we learned
- 18:26Speaker 1: that he slept with Krista.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Yeah, with Jordan. Well, not with Krista.
- 18:30Speaker 1: We should say Jordan. We should say Jordan, not Krista. Now,
- 18:34Speaker 1: he may have slept with Krista. I have no idea.
- 18:36Speaker 1: It's none of my business. but he definitely slept with Jordan.
- 18:40Speaker 4: Bill just turned to Crystal like, did you guys?
- 18:43Speaker 1: Wait, what?
- 18:44Speaker 4: Should we get into the recap real quick before we
- 18:49Speaker 4: start talking about it?
- 18:50Speaker 1: Let's do your recap. I don't have my phone because
- 18:52Speaker 1: it died. So, Daniel, you're going to have to time Donald.
- 18:57Speaker 1: I hope you put a smidgen more effort into this.
- 18:59Speaker 3: One than you did last time. I put some effort
- 19:00Speaker 3: into it. This is a tricky episode also, but I
- 19:04Speaker 3: did put some effort into it. Ready?
- 19:05Speaker 1: Ready, and Go.
- 19:08Speaker 4: Elliot's on top of the world for the first time
- 19:10Speaker 4: in our series. Carla's down in the dumps because she's
- 19:13Speaker 4: not feeling sexy. Turk needs competition to get his confidence up.
- 19:17Speaker 4: JD has a new friend who's teaching him how to
- 19:20Speaker 4: combat his anxieties with cocks. The lessons are effective, but
- 19:23Speaker 4: come with a price. Being comfortable with who you are
- 19:26Speaker 4: is very important in life. If you can find a
- 19:29Speaker 4: way to access said comfortability, you stick with it as
- 19:32Speaker 4: long as you don't disrespect and hurt others.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Wow.
- 19:36Speaker 1: How many seconds, Daniel? Not bad. 25. 25. So wait,
- 19:40Speaker 1: say one part again, you said, about finding a way
- 19:43Speaker 1: to be yourself without disrespect. Right before you said disrespecting others,
- 19:46Speaker 1: what did you say?
- 19:48Speaker 4: Being comfortable with who you are is very important in life.
- 19:51Speaker 4: If you can find a way to access said comfortability,
- 19:55Speaker 4: you stick with it, right? So Carla found a way
- 20:00Speaker 4: to be comfortable again. You know what I mean? The
- 20:03Speaker 4: whole episode, she feels like she's not sexy. Part of
- 20:06Speaker 4: it's because she's wearing an engagement ring. Unfortunately for ladies
- 20:10Speaker 4: and men out there, once you tell everyone in the
- 20:13Speaker 4: world I'm spoken for via engagement ring, people kind of
- 20:18Speaker 4: back off.
- 20:18Speaker 3: You know what I mean? And the ones that don't
- 20:20Speaker 3: back off, those are the sleazy scumbags.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Do you notice that some women wear engagement rings? Has
- 20:26Speaker 1: this ever happened to you when you were single and
- 20:32Speaker 1: you see a woman that is wearing an engagement ring
- 20:35Speaker 1: and you sort of make some effort offhanded comment like
- 20:38Speaker 1: oh um how long you been engaged and they go
- 20:40Speaker 1: oh i'm not engaged i just i just wear this
- 20:42Speaker 1: on this finger and sometimes it's because they don't want
- 20:45Speaker 1: to be bothered or hit.
- 20:46Speaker 4: On they don't want the attention well that right there
- 20:48Speaker 4: is the cue for you to be like oh so
- 20:50Speaker 4: what's up.
- 20:51Speaker 1: And then other times though they've been like oh i
- 20:53Speaker 1: just like wearing a ring on that finger and i
- 20:54Speaker 1: i always thought when that happened like why are you
- 20:57Speaker 1: doing that like you you you your dream husband might
- 21:00Speaker 1: be walking by and think you're cute and then not
- 21:03Speaker 1: even talk to you because he sees your ring.
- 21:05Speaker 3: If a girl's wearing it, she don't want to be bothered.
- 21:06Speaker 3: She don't want to be bothered. Thank you.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Thank you, Joelle.
- 21:08Speaker 3: I'll run to my dream husband later.
- 21:10Speaker 1: I'm tired.
- 21:11Speaker 5: Right.
- 21:11Speaker 3: Thank you, Joelle.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Oh, guys. Oh, shit.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Wait, something's happening.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 21:15Speaker 2: What happened?
- 21:16Speaker 6: Interrupting Bill.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Oh, God.
- 21:19Speaker 5: Here we go.
- 21:19Speaker 1: I don't really have a song.
- 21:21Speaker 6: Interrupting Bill.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. He needs a better song.
- 21:26Speaker 1: He needs a much better song.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Donald, oh, yeah, dig that. It'll be perfect. Oh, yeah.
- 21:33Speaker 6: It was a little annoying to hear that my first
- 21:34Speaker 6: interrupting Bill segment was deemed too long. Not that Donald
- 21:39Speaker 6: said he was cool with it.
- 21:40Speaker 3: Zach, you said it was too long.
- 21:40Speaker 6: It was like a five-minute monologue.
- 21:43Speaker 3: Oh, no, did I get in the way of you.
- 21:45Speaker 6: All talking about Silver Spoons and Star Wars?
- 21:47Speaker 3: I feel horrible. And by the way.
- 21:51Speaker 6: The name of the Jason Bateman spinoff was It's Your Move.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Anyways, I got a question.
- 21:57Speaker 6: One of the things we did on– I'll be quick.
- 22:02Speaker 3: One of the things we often.
- 22:04Speaker 6: Did on Scrubs, when we were in later seasons, we
- 22:06Speaker 6: would look back at the earlier seasons to see if
- 22:08Speaker 6: we could kind of continue jokes. And we did a
- 22:12Speaker 6: joke with Carla that no one saw her as attractive
- 22:17Speaker 6: in this episode now that she had an engagement ring on.
- 22:20Speaker 6: And later on, when we brought a guest star on
- 22:23Speaker 6: the show to be a love interest of J.D. 's,
- 22:27Speaker 6: we wanted to imply that she had always been at
- 22:29Speaker 6: the hospital, but J.D. had just never noticed her. Do
- 22:32Speaker 6: you know who that guest star was and how this
- 22:34Speaker 6: joke with Carla relates?
- 22:36Speaker 3: We set it up here. I know who it was.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Donald, who was it?
- 22:39Speaker 4: It was Elizabeth Banks' character who J.D. wound up having
- 22:43Speaker 4: a baby with later on, if I'm correct.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Right, yes.
- 22:46Speaker 4: And I guess she wore an engagement ring the whole time,
- 22:49Speaker 4: so nobody paid attention to her, is my guess.
- 22:51Speaker 3: How timely.
- 22:53Speaker 1: That sounds good. Wow, you really timed this out well, Dan.
- 22:56Speaker 1: You must be good at what you do. All right,
- 22:58Speaker 1: go ahead. What does Bill say?
- 23:01Speaker 3: Yeah, Zach, I'm guessing you got it.
- 23:03Speaker 6: It was Elizabeth Banks.
- 23:04Speaker 1: No, no, that's fucked up.
- 23:06Speaker 3: Because she was wearing a wedding ring.
- 23:08Speaker 2: I hope that was quick enough.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Whatever.
- 23:11Speaker 6: I miss you guys.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Now I feel bad.
- 23:15Speaker 3: I miss you.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Now I feel bad. I think we hurt his feelings
- 23:19Speaker 1: by saying he was.
- 23:20Speaker 3: Going on to her. Dude, you totally hurt Bill Lawrence's feelings, man.
- 23:22Speaker 3: I don't want to hurt Bill's feelings.
- 23:24Speaker 1: I love him.
- 23:25Speaker 4: I'm fine with Bill going on and on and on
- 23:27Speaker 4: and on.
- 23:27Speaker 3: It's all right with me.
- 23:29Speaker 1: And I know the fans love it, so we'll just
- 23:31Speaker 1: let him go long.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Yeah, just let him go. Bill, you can go long.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Bill, I'm sorry.
- 23:34Speaker 4: You can even do the 5, 6, 7, 8. Let
- 23:36Speaker 4: me tell you something right now. That was probably the sneakiest.
- 23:40Speaker 2: 5, 6, 7, 8. 5, 6.
- 23:43Speaker 1: I'm not doing it.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Okay.
- 23:45Speaker 2: I'm not doing it anymore.
- 23:46Speaker 6: I'm not somebody to amuse you that just comes and
- 23:51Speaker 6: does the numbers. So we'll think of a new gag.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Thank you, Bill.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Today it's just 5, 6. Seven, eight.
- 24:01Speaker 1: Seven. Oh, my God. Come on.
- 24:08Speaker 6: Now people are like, he's definitely doing it, but the
- 24:10Speaker 6: joke is going to be that I'm not.
- 24:11Speaker 3: Oh.
- 24:15Speaker 1: I don't believe it. I somehow don't believe it. Is
- 24:17Speaker 1: there more tape? 8.
- 24:18Speaker 3: 5, 6, 7, 8. 5, 6, 7, 8. 5, 6, 7, 8.
- 24:21Speaker 3: Don't scream. Music riffs, Daniel.
- 24:23Speaker 5: Don't stop it.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Make it a long one.
- 24:24Speaker 3: It's the last one ever, I promise.
- 24:27Speaker 5: Turn it off.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Turn it off, Daniel.
- 24:30Speaker 3: No, don't turn it off. Let it play. Let it
- 24:32Speaker 3: play for the whole thing.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Let it play. That was the whole thing.
- 24:34Speaker 3: Let it play.
- 24:35Speaker 5: All right.
- 24:35Speaker 1: All right, listen. I got to say something. Bill is
- 24:40Speaker 1: experiencing something as a writer he's never experienced, and that
- 24:43Speaker 1: is that he has a hit catchphrase, and he doesn't
- 24:46Speaker 1: want to give it up.
- 24:48Speaker 3: I don't think he should give it up. As long
- 24:50Speaker 3: as it's sneaky and.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Funny, it works. He finally, in his career as a writer,
- 24:55Speaker 1: probably never imagined he'd have his own What You Talking
- 24:58Speaker 1: About Willis. And he finally has one, and he keeps
- 25:04Speaker 1: trying to be a cool guy about it, being like, nah,
- 25:05Speaker 1: I'm not going to do it anymore. I'm over it.
- 25:08Speaker 1: but he can't give it up. It's like crack rock.
- 25:10Speaker 3: Why would, right?
- 25:11Speaker 4: Well, shit, I've never tried crack, but I hear that's
- 25:15Speaker 4: one of the most addicting things in the world. Do
- 25:17Speaker 4: you know, do you know what else is addicting? Having
- 25:20Speaker 4: a catchphrase.
- 25:23Speaker 1: It's almost as addicting.
- 25:26Speaker 4: Dude, listen, that's what I'm talking about has traveled with
- 25:29Speaker 4: me from scrubs to pretty much everything else that I've
- 25:32Speaker 4: done in life. Once I heard that people like that's
- 25:35Speaker 4: what I'm talking about, I.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Said that shit over and over again. Eagle, another one.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Eagle's gone on forever and ever and ever. You can't
- 25:43Speaker 3: not post Eagle.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Once a year. I'll bet Jaleel White is not saying,
- 25:47Speaker 1: did I do that to anybody these days?
- 25:49Speaker 3: If they pay his ass a lot of money, I
- 25:51Speaker 3: bet you he'd be like, did I do that?
- 25:54Speaker 1: He'd be like, how much did I do that?
- 25:55Speaker 3: How much for that?
- 25:56Speaker 2: Right.
- 25:57Speaker 1: I told you, when what's-his-name was on Good Times, J.J. Walker,
- 26:02Speaker 1: he was like, I'll do the show, but Dynamite costs more.
- 26:05Speaker 1: A lot more.
- 26:07Speaker 3: And I understand that. He's like, it's my catchphrase. I'm
- 26:10Speaker 3: going to run with it.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:11Speaker 4: I bet you if Gary Coleman, if somebody said, when
- 26:13Speaker 4: God rest his soul, to the late, great Gary Coleman.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Rest in peace.
- 26:17Speaker 3: Rest in peace, baby.
- 26:18Speaker 4: If somebody said, Gary, we need what you're talking about, Willis,
- 26:23Speaker 4: at this point, or what you're talking about somebody at
- 26:25Speaker 4: this point, he'd be like, that's going to cost extra.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Of course. Of course. Get that money. Make that money.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Make that money.
- 26:31Speaker 3: Uh-huh.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Uh-huh. Uh-huh.
- 26:33Speaker 4: I bet you, Mike, if you had Mike Jackson on
- 26:35Speaker 4: a song, rest his soul. If you had, rest in peace,
- 26:39Speaker 4: if you had Mike Jackson on a song, Michael Jackson
- 26:41Speaker 4: on a song, and he said, or Shimon, I bet
- 26:44Speaker 4: you that costs more money.
- 26:45Speaker 3: I gave you a Shimon. I gave you a Shimon.
- 26:48Speaker 3: You don't have to pay another $ 10, 000.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I bet a lot of producers, I mean,
- 26:53Speaker 1: I'm not saying DJ Khaled or Puffy, because they're obviously
- 26:56Speaker 1: very successful, but I bet there's other producers who have
- 26:58Speaker 1: little catchphrases who, like, really didn't do anything else, but
- 27:02Speaker 1: come on and be like, it's me, I'm the producer.
- 27:06Speaker 1: You know, their little catchphrase. Whatever their catchphrase is. Whatever
- 27:11Speaker 1: their equivalent of another one is.
- 27:13Speaker 5: Right.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Or, uh-huh, uh-huh, take that, take that.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Uh-huh, take it, take it.
- 27:19Speaker 4: Puffy for the longest was like, yeah, major key. Puffy
- 27:22Speaker 4: for the longest was like, can't stop, won't stop.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Can't stop, won't stop.
- 27:26Speaker 3: I thought I told you that we won't stop.
- 27:30Speaker 1: I thought I told you that we won't stop. I
- 27:31Speaker 1: thought I told you that we won't stop.
- 27:35Speaker 3: The fact that Zach knows that, people.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Is a big deal.
- 27:38Speaker 3: Ask him how he knows it. Ask him how he
- 27:40Speaker 3: knows it.
- 27:41Speaker 1: I know it because I was PA-ing on all those
- 27:43Speaker 1: music videos. I PA-ed on a lot of rap videos
- 27:45Speaker 1: in 90... In like, let's say, 95 to 99.
- 27:53Speaker 4: Wow.
- 27:54Speaker 1: When all that shit was going down. I don't think
- 27:56Speaker 1: I ever worked on a Hype Williams video, but I
- 27:58Speaker 1: worked on a lot of videos. I wanted to work
- 28:00Speaker 1: on a Hype Williams video because he was the cool guy.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Well, Hype, come on, man.
- 28:05Speaker 4: Whoever was a cinematographer for Hype Williams videos, it was.
- 28:10Speaker 3: One of the reasons why Hype was so dope.
- 28:12Speaker 1: I wonder why Hype disappeared. Hype had like a monopoly.
- 28:17Speaker 1: Along with a woman named, you know who I worked on?
- 28:19Speaker 1: A woman who did a lot of them too. Her
- 28:22Speaker 1: name is Diane Martell. And I worked on a bunch
- 28:25Speaker 1: of her videos. She did a lot of videos.
- 28:28Speaker 3: Well, they don't make music videos anymore.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Well, they do, but not like they used to.
- 28:32Speaker 3: Come on, man.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Not like they used to.
- 28:33Speaker 4: They did the Drunken Love music video on the beach
- 28:36Speaker 4: with Beyonce and Jay.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Who did that? That was hype?
- 28:38Speaker 4: That was hype Williams. But that ain't a hype Williams video, though.
- 28:41Speaker 4: That's like somebody was like, hype, we don't have that budget.
- 28:45Speaker 4: Just take the video camera and let's go.
- 28:47Speaker 1: No, the Hype Williams signature was the wide-angle lens in
- 28:50Speaker 1: the tunnel with the fluorescent tubes going down the whole
- 28:53Speaker 1: tunnel and everyone coming up into the wide-angle lens.
- 28:57Speaker 3: And being in the face. Did you ever see Belly?
- 29:02Speaker 1: No.
- 29:03Speaker 4: Belly is a Hype Williams-directed movie. Visually, that shit is amazing. Visually,
- 29:09Speaker 4: holy shit, Belly is a classic.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Visually.
- 29:13Speaker 1: I bet he directed, is it worth it? Let me
- 29:16Speaker 1: work it. I'll put your thing down, maybe you can
- 29:18Speaker 1: reverse it. It's a year for the name of the movie.
- 29:20Speaker 5: Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure.
- 29:22Speaker 5: Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Yeah, sure.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure.
- 29:23Speaker 3: Yeah, sure.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Yeah, sure.
- 29:24Speaker 5: Yeah, sure.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Yeah, sure.
- 29:24Speaker 5: Yeah, sure.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Yeah, sure.
- 29:25Speaker 5: Yeah, sure.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Yeah, sure.
- 29:25Speaker 5: Yeah, sure.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure.
- 29:27Speaker 5: Yeah, sure.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Yeah, sure.
- 29:30Speaker 5: Yeah, sure.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Yeah, sure.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure.
- 29:37Speaker 4: Yeah, If you ever get the chance, if you ever
- 29:32Speaker 4: get the chance, go watch Belly, okay? That shit visually
- 29:37Speaker 4: is one of the dopest movies, especially hood movies, that
- 29:41Speaker 4: you will ever see.
- 29:43Speaker 3: Hood movies, that shit is fire.
- 29:46Speaker 4: And when I say hood movies, I mean urban, I
- 29:48Speaker 4: mean black, I mean fucking about drugs and fucking, that's
- 29:52Speaker 4: what I mean.
- 29:53Speaker 3: I'm saying that shit was straight for the hood. You
- 29:56Speaker 3: know what I mean? I've been in a couple. Hood classics,
- 29:59Speaker 3: I've been in a bunch of them.
- 30:00Speaker 1: By the way, I just was remembering, Joelle, you were
- 30:02Speaker 1: saying that there was a lot of women out there
- 30:05Speaker 1: who were like the early precursors to songs like the
- 30:09Speaker 1: WAP song. And it just made me think of that song.
- 30:11Speaker 1: She's like, if you've got a bit, I mean, a
- 30:13Speaker 1: lot of it's bleeped, but she's like, she's saying a
- 30:15Speaker 1: lot of crazy shit.
- 30:17Speaker 3: That WAP song, that WAP song is fire, dude. I'm sorry, man.
- 30:21Speaker 3: And that video, I love it. You keep listening to it?
- 30:22Speaker 3: It's not that I keep listening. It's not that I
- 30:24Speaker 3: keep listening to it.
- 30:26Speaker 4: It's just that I keep visualizing the video from that shit, dude.
- 30:29Speaker 3: That shit is... Really?
- 30:31Speaker 1: Oh, you like the visuals.
- 30:33Speaker 3: Dude, come on. Come on, man. Name one person that
- 30:37Speaker 3: doesn't like the visuals. I don't look at things like that.
- 30:38Speaker 4: Other than all the Republicans that are out there fucking
- 30:41Speaker 4: saying that this shit is not.
- 30:43Speaker 3: Good for kids. Was she really.
- 30:45Speaker 4: I gotta ask this. And then we'll get back to
- 30:47Speaker 4: the show. But did they really mention freaking Cardi B
- 30:51Speaker 4: at the Republic National Convention? Did her name really come up?
- 30:56Speaker 3: Cardi. Cardi.
- 30:58Speaker 4: Oh, that's what I'm talking about. That's what I'm talking about. Yo,
- 31:04Speaker 4: my catchphrase is in effect for that. That's what I'm
- 31:07Speaker 4: talking about.
- 31:07Speaker 1: She ruffled some feathers. Good. All right. Let's talk about basketball.
- 31:13Speaker 1: The show opens with us playing 137. I go, how
- 31:17Speaker 1: the hell do we lose? We have Chet and Chet's
- 31:19Speaker 1: like eight feet tall. And he's like, sorry, man. And
- 31:22Speaker 1: I'm like, Chad, you suck.
- 31:24Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Now, I don't know there's that many times. Only a
- 31:26Speaker 1: handful of times JD is playing basketball. I don't think
- 31:29Speaker 1: it's implied. We play a lot, actually.
- 31:31Speaker 5: Really?
- 31:31Speaker 3: We play a lot, actually. Yeah, because we always need
- 31:34Speaker 3: a fourth.
- 31:35Speaker 1: Okay, sorry. Dave Myers was also... I don't mean to
- 31:38Speaker 1: minimize Dave Myers' contribution. He was also a huge music
- 31:41Speaker 1: video director. He directed Work It, which if you haven't seen,
- 31:45Speaker 1: you should go check out. It's a really cool video
- 31:47Speaker 1: for a Missy Elliott song, Work It.
- 31:49Speaker 3: Missy had some great videos.
- 31:51Speaker 1: Now, Aloma... Gets into dunking. I think I remember there
- 31:56Speaker 1: being a stunt double because I know Aloma wasn't doing
- 31:57Speaker 1: all that.
- 31:58Speaker 5: Right.
- 32:00Speaker 1: And she's like doing some crazy- Well, she's definitely doing
- 32:02Speaker 1: the dribbling part. For a second. But then there's a
- 32:04Speaker 1: cut to her legs and some woman's doing like through
- 32:07Speaker 1: the legs stuff. And then some woman hits a trampoline
- 32:10Speaker 1: and does like a major dunk. That's not Aloma.
- 32:14Speaker 3: It could be.
- 32:15Speaker 1: And then she lands and she goes, y'all got hockey. Yeah.
- 32:19Speaker 3: You know, I'm going to be honest with you.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 32:24Speaker 3: There aren't a lot of black people who play hockey
- 32:26Speaker 3: in the NHL right now.
- 32:28Speaker 1: It's growing, but- Are there more than two?
- 32:33Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely more than two. There's more than a handful.
- 32:36Speaker 4: There's more than 10.
- 32:38Speaker 1: Joel's on it.
- 32:40Speaker 4: My brother played hockey. We grew up in Hell's Kitchen,
- 32:42Speaker 4: New York, and that's a big hockey part of Manhattan.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Would he play street hockey, like on rollerblades?
- 32:49Speaker 4: He would play on rollerblades and he would play ice hockey.
- 32:52Speaker 4: Shout out to all the cats from 52nd Street. You know,
- 32:56Speaker 4: the cats that live in 747, Clinton, that whole area.
- 33:01Speaker 4: These cats all played hockey. A lot of them were white,
- 33:04Speaker 4: but there were a lot of black kids that played
- 33:07Speaker 4: hockey too because of our neighborhood.
- 33:09Speaker 1: You know, rollerblades would have been a really horrible stock
- 33:12Speaker 1: to be involved with because they've just completely disappeared from
- 33:17Speaker 1: the world.
- 33:18Speaker 3: They're making a comeback.
- 33:19Speaker 1: They did?
- 33:21Speaker 5: They're currently making a comeback. You see a lot of
- 33:23Speaker 5: the IG roller girls and a lot of, it's a
- 33:27Speaker 5: lot of like girls at skate parks pulling mad cool
- 33:29Speaker 5: stunts or looking fly as hell.
- 33:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I was about to say, I think skateboarding really
- 33:34Speaker 4: took a, you know, skateboarding was popular and then it
- 33:38Speaker 4: died down and now it's made such a huge comeback.
- 33:41Speaker 3: Like, Skateboarding is so huge now.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Yeah, but not rollerblading, dude. Remember, rollerblades were everywhere.
- 33:47Speaker 3: Everyone had rollerblades.
- 33:49Speaker 1: Now you can't find anybody.
- 33:50Speaker 3: Right.
- 33:50Speaker 4: I think when people took a break from skateboarding, they
- 33:53Speaker 4: got into rollerblades. And then that kind of went away
- 33:56Speaker 4: also because it was like, all right, I don't know, man.
- 33:59Speaker 4: I feel like you could be in such good shape
- 34:01Speaker 4: if you're a good rollerblader.
- 34:02Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 34:03Speaker 4: And maybe they were getting hit by cars or something
- 34:05Speaker 4: like that. I don't know what it is.
- 34:07Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 34:07Speaker 1: That's not it. That's not it.
- 34:09Speaker 4: I'm looking at it like this. I grew up in
- 34:12Speaker 4: a city in Manhattan, right? And everybody in the early
- 34:17Speaker 4: 90s was rollerblading.
- 34:19Speaker 3: Everybody.
- 34:19Speaker 4: They made a movie about it. A dude I went
- 34:22Speaker 4: to high school with was the star of the movie.
- 34:24Speaker 4: Seth Green and Jack Black, they.
- 34:26Speaker 3: Were in the movie.
- 34:27Speaker 1: What's the movie called? Rollerblade the movie?
- 34:30Speaker 3: Maybe. Some shit like that. Roller buddies. Some shit like that.
- 34:33Speaker 1: Blades. Right.
- 34:35Speaker 3: Something.
- 34:35Speaker 1: You're not talking about Brink, are you?
- 34:39Speaker 3: It's Jack Black and Brink?
- 34:40Speaker 1: Well, no, but it's like the most famous rollerblading movie.
- 34:43Speaker 1: The major TV Disney movie.
- 34:45Speaker 3: It's the one at the end. Airborne, that's what it is.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Airborne.
- 34:48Speaker 4: Yeah, it's the one at the end of the movie
- 34:50Speaker 4: they go down a hill as a rollerblade race or some.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Shit like that. Rollerblades became so popular they made a
- 34:55Speaker 1: rollerblading movie.
- 34:57Speaker 4: I went to high school with the star of that movie, dude.
- 35:00Speaker 4: And he would rollerblade all around from school.
- 35:03Speaker 3: Like, when the.
- 35:04Speaker 4: Movie came out, I was like, it's only perfect that
- 35:06Speaker 4: Shane's in this movie. Because this dude used to rollerblade
- 35:09Speaker 4: all the time when we were in school.
- 35:10Speaker 3: That's all he did. You know what I mean?
- 35:12Speaker 4: Anyway, my point is, it got really hot. And then
- 35:17Speaker 4: all of a sudden, I think skateboarding made a comeback, man. Like,
- 35:21Speaker 4: Tony Hawk and the Jackass guys and all that shit.
- 35:24Speaker 4: I think that became way more popular again. And rollerblading
- 35:28Speaker 4: had to take a backseat.
- 35:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Well, I just am surprised that they're completely gone. Like
- 35:33Speaker 1: if you walk down the street, you just will not
- 35:34Speaker 1: see anyone. And it was so, and I went, when
- 35:37Speaker 1: I went to Northwestern, it was, there were so many
- 35:39Speaker 1: on the campus, so many people doing it.
- 35:41Speaker 3: And they probably all had great legs too. Like their
- 35:44Speaker 3: calves were probably like, wow.
- 35:45Speaker 1: And now you'd do a double take. Now you would
- 35:48Speaker 1: do a double take if you saw someone, you know? Yeah.
- 35:51Speaker 1: I just think it's bizarre when something comes that popular.
- 35:54Speaker 1: And then for no reason, it's not like it became
- 35:56Speaker 1: like no longer a good mode of transportation anymore. no
- 35:59Speaker 1: longer good exercise. It just disappeared entirely.
- 36:03Speaker 4: But here's the thing about the hockey thing. Some of
- 36:06Speaker 4: the best hockey players obviously have always been white, right?
- 36:11Speaker 4: Some of the best basketball players in the history of
- 36:14Speaker 4: basketball were white also.
- 36:17Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 36:18Speaker 4: So to say y'all have hockey is kind of bullshit
- 36:21Speaker 4: because the NBA, regardless of how you may look at it,
- 36:23Speaker 4: like for an African-American male to get out of the hood,
- 36:27Speaker 4: you got to And.
- 36:29Speaker 3: If it's not through education, it's through sports.
- 36:31Speaker 4: And so football and basketball, yes, are a very good
- 36:35Speaker 4: way to make it.
- 36:37Speaker 5: Right.
- 36:37Speaker 3: But there's a bunch of people that don't make it.
- 36:40Speaker 5: Right.
- 36:41Speaker 3: White dudes play basketball, too.
- 36:44Speaker 4: One of the best basketball players in the league right
- 36:47Speaker 4: now is Luka Doncic. And he's not even from America.
- 36:51Speaker 3: You know what I mean? And he's white.
- 36:53Speaker 4: I can't say that about hockey. I can't say, oh,
- 36:56Speaker 4: one of the top five hockey players in the league
- 36:59Speaker 4: is black. You can't say that shit because it's not true.
- 37:02Speaker 1: Well, I can tell you from my own personal knowledge,
- 37:05Speaker 1: not reading Joel's message, that 3% of NHL is non-white
- 37:12Speaker 1: and there are 26 black players in the NHL. I
- 37:15Speaker 1: wouldn't have thought it was that high. So you were right, Donald.
- 37:19Speaker 1: It's increasing at least.
- 37:20Speaker 3: Let's move on.
- 37:22Speaker 1: Okay, let's talk about how Sarah is unable to talk
- 37:26Speaker 1: about her poos in front of her boyfriend, Nurse Flowers.
- 37:32Speaker 1: She says that she calls it a twosie in front
- 37:35Speaker 1: of him. And in front of patients, when I admonish
- 37:39Speaker 1: her for being a doctor, she says that she says dookie. Right.
- 37:44Speaker 3: Let me ask you a question.
- 37:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:46Speaker 4: How long did it take before your girlfriend was willing
- 37:50Speaker 4: to dookie?
- 37:51Speaker 3: In the same house. I mean, in the same area.
- 37:54Speaker 1: I don't like to not just, just, just not talk
- 37:57Speaker 1: about it. You know, I don't, I mean, it's a
- 38:00Speaker 1: don't ask, don't tell situation. It's implied sometimes. It's like,
- 38:03Speaker 1: I'm going to go have some private time.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Right.
- 38:08Speaker 1: Now I know you're married. So you're like, she's like
- 38:10Speaker 1: brushing her teeth and you're taking a dump.
- 38:12Speaker 3: Well, I'm brushing my teeth and she's taking a dump.
- 38:15Speaker 1: Do you remember that in that scrubs episode that actually
- 38:18Speaker 1: is funny? And I think this was my joke. is
- 38:21Speaker 1: that you and Judy are in the bathtub taking a
- 38:24Speaker 1: romantic bath. And then the camera pulls back to reveal
- 38:28Speaker 1: that I'm on the toilet pooing. And I'm like, sorry
- 38:30Speaker 1: about the twosie, guys. And I spray the spray.
- 38:36Speaker 3: I have no recollection of that, but that's hilarious.
- 38:40Speaker 1: The joke was somehow that we have to all live
- 38:42Speaker 1: together and you guys are getting over it. And the
- 38:44Speaker 1: music shows candles lit and shit. And then the camera
- 38:48Speaker 1: dollies back to reveal me in the foreground just flushing, going,
- 38:52Speaker 1: sorry about the twosie, guys.
- 38:53Speaker 4: That is hilarious, dude. Let's talk about how Elliot is
- 38:59Speaker 4: on top of the world. This is the first time
- 39:01Speaker 4: we've ever seen her character.
- 39:03Speaker 3: So happy, man.
- 39:04Speaker 1: She's feeling happy.
- 39:05Speaker 3: She's never this happy.
- 39:07Speaker 4: And she has a moment where she falls back into
- 39:10Speaker 4: it where Carla says something about not being sexy and
- 39:14Speaker 4: Elliot thinks she's talking about herself, talking about her.
- 39:17Speaker 3: But it's a refreshing moment. You know what I mean?
- 39:21Speaker 4: It's really good to see Elliot having sex having a
- 39:25Speaker 4: good time in life. Her patients love her. She's happily
- 39:29Speaker 4: in her life.
- 39:30Speaker 3: Relationship.
- 39:30Speaker 4: The one thing that she has a problem with is
- 39:33Speaker 4: taking a crap and pissing when he's around.
- 39:37Speaker 1: She can't pee in front of him? I thought it
- 39:38Speaker 1: was just pooping.
- 39:39Speaker 4: Well, she makes him turn up the music when she's
- 39:41Speaker 4: going pee because she doesn't want him to hear the
- 39:44Speaker 4: urine splashing in the toilet.
- 39:46Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 39:46Speaker 1: I understand that. I understand that too. I do worry
- 39:51Speaker 1: when everyone's around if my poo can be heard. So
- 39:55Speaker 1: I'll go on my phone and play some Taylor Swift
- 39:58Speaker 1: or something just to blast it out so no one
- 40:01Speaker 1: can hear any action in the toilet.
- 40:04Speaker 3: I don't mind a healthy stream. I'm going to be
- 40:06Speaker 3: honest with you.
- 40:07Speaker 4: If I'm going pee and it's a healthy stream, I
- 40:10Speaker 4: want everybody to hear it.
- 40:11Speaker 1: I'm not talking about stream.
- 40:13Speaker 3: I'm talking about plops.
- 40:14Speaker 1: I'm talking about kerplumps. Like, Dan, put a kerplump sound
- 40:18Speaker 1: effect here. I'm talking about that.
- 40:19Speaker 5: No, no, no, no.
- 40:19Speaker 3: Please, Dan, no. Please, Dan, no.
- 40:22Speaker 1: No, just a kerplump.
- 40:22Speaker 3: No. Fuck you, Zach. No way, dude. No. Why not?
- 40:25Speaker 3: That's gross, man.
- 40:27Speaker 1: Turn your key.
- 40:28Speaker 3: No, I will not turn my.
- 40:30Speaker 1: I'm not talking about a fart noise. I'm talking about
- 40:33Speaker 1: the kerplump into the water.
- 40:36Speaker 3: That is disgusting. Let's move on.
- 40:38Speaker 1: All right. I'm sorry, fans. You'll just have to imagine
- 40:41Speaker 1: your own kerplump sound effect, I guess.
- 40:45Speaker 3: Gross.
- 40:47Speaker 1: What's your favorite expression for pooping?
- 40:51Speaker 3: Taking a shit.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Mine's growing a tail.
- 40:53Speaker 3: So unfortunate. I don't like that at all. Oh, wow.
- 41:07Speaker 1: You're welcome, America. I've never heard that one either. Wow.
- 41:11Speaker 1: You're welcome.
- 41:11Speaker 3: That is so fucking gross.
- 41:13Speaker 1: That was worth the price of admission.
- 41:16Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Now, Sarah does a very sexy dance. Sorry to spin
- 41:22Speaker 1: things 180 degrees. A transition. Yeah, what a transition. That's
- 41:25Speaker 1: how you know I'm a professional broadcaster, Joelle.
- 41:27Speaker 4: From growing a tail to a sexy dance, Zach Braff's
- 41:31Speaker 4: transitions rock.
- 41:32Speaker 1: So this man has narcolepsy, and it's triggered by being
- 41:35Speaker 1: turned on, which I have to believe must be a
- 41:37Speaker 1: real thing. And Sarah wants to prove that she can
- 41:41Speaker 1: turn him on. And she goes in there and she's
- 41:44Speaker 1: really flirting with him. And then she goes all out
- 41:48Speaker 1: and bends over and sticks her tush in his face.
- 41:52Speaker 4: That was something that we used to play, though. We
- 41:54Speaker 4: used to do that on set. Oops, I dropped something.
- 41:58Speaker 4: And Sarah obviously was the queen of oops, I dropped something.
- 42:02Speaker 4: And this was oops, I dropped something in the show.
- 42:04Speaker 1: Yes. I think it's safe to say that Sarah is
- 42:06Speaker 1: skilled at playing oops, I dropped something.
- 42:09Speaker 4: Oops, I Dropped Something is one of my favorite games
- 42:12Speaker 4: ever that we've ever come up with while making the show.
- 42:15Speaker 3: Because dudes could do it too.
- 42:17Speaker 4: I would do Oops, I Dropped Something also.
- 42:19Speaker 1: Oops, I Dropped Something.
- 42:20Speaker 3: With my ass? Are you kidding me? Oops, I Dropped
- 42:23Speaker 3: Something is amazing.
- 42:25Speaker 1: People got to get out of the way when you Oops,
- 42:27Speaker 1: I Dropped Something. Because they're like, look out. When Donald
- 42:31Speaker 1: plays Oops, I Dropped Something, you hear beep, beep.
- 42:35Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like a freaking.
- 42:36Speaker 1: Because that shit's coming in the air.
- 42:37Speaker 3: It's like a Mack truck backing up.
- 42:39Speaker 1: Oops, I dropped something. People have to get out of
- 42:41Speaker 1: the way.
- 42:42Speaker 4: Speaking of Cardi B and Oops, I Dropped Something, that
- 42:46Speaker 4: WAP video is amazing.
- 42:48Speaker 1: Again, you're bringing up the WAP video.
- 42:50Speaker 5: Wow.
- 42:51Speaker 3: There's a lot of Oops, I Dropped Something in that video, dude.
- 42:54Speaker 1: I only watched it once. I didn't want to get
- 42:55Speaker 1: caught watching it multiple times.
- 42:58Speaker 3: I can't get in trouble for watching a fucking video, dude.
- 43:00Speaker 3: Get out of here, dude. I'm married. Look, if you're
- 43:03Speaker 3: married and you're in a relationship.
- 43:06Speaker 4: Anybody out there, everyone out there, and I want to
- 43:08Speaker 4: take a poll on this.
- 43:09Speaker 3: Is it wrong to watch.
- 43:11Speaker 4: A music video of a bunch of women dancing provocatively
- 43:14Speaker 4: if you're married?
- 43:16Speaker 3: Is that wrong?
- 43:16Speaker 1: I think not once, and I think the second time
- 43:19Speaker 1: you can go, baby, how crazy is this? But I
- 43:23Speaker 1: think if she comes in the room and you're like,
- 43:25Speaker 1: and she sees that you're on your 20th time, some
- 43:28Speaker 1: women might be like, bro, chill with the fucking WAP video.
- 43:32Speaker 3: But it's not like any of these dudes can get
- 43:35Speaker 3: with Cardi B or Meg Thee Stallion.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Hold up.
- 43:37Speaker 3: It's not like Meg Thee Stallion and Cardi B are
- 43:40Speaker 3: giving back. You know what I mean?
- 43:41Speaker 4: If I'm looking at Cardi B and Meg Thee Stallion
- 43:45Speaker 4: and the other fine young ladies in this music video,
- 43:49Speaker 4: it's not like they're looking at me saying, oh yeah,
- 43:53Speaker 4: I want me some Donald Faison.
- 43:54Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 43:55Speaker 4: And my wife knows that shit. I told you guys this.
- 43:58Speaker 4: My wife tells me all the time, motherfucker, they.
- 44:00Speaker 3: Don't want you. They don't want you.
- 44:04Speaker 4: Even when I'm looking my best. Even when I've worked
- 44:08Speaker 4: out for six months straight and the abs are on fleek.
- 44:12Speaker 3: My wife's like, they don't want you.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Oh, she's just trying to get in your head. By
- 44:17Speaker 1: the way, I have to say.
- 44:17Speaker 3: No, it's true though. They don't want me. They don't
- 44:19Speaker 3: want me. I'm married.
- 44:22Speaker 1: If I was Cardi B, I would put my WAP
- 44:24Speaker 1: all over you.
- 44:25Speaker 3: Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my goodness gracious.
- 44:32Speaker 3: You would be.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Covered in WAP. It would be raining WAP.
- 44:39Speaker 3: Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. I need to take
- 44:45Speaker 3: a shower now.
- 44:45Speaker 1: Let's go to break.
- 44:46Speaker 3: We'll be right back.
- 44:47Speaker 1: I do declare.
- 44:56Speaker 3: I do, right. Then I do declare.
- 45:01Speaker 1: You know when a newborn calf comes out and it's
- 45:05Speaker 1: all wet and the mom has to lick it up?
- 45:08Speaker 1: That's what you'd look like.
- 45:09Speaker 3: That's that whop. That's that whop.
- 45:13Speaker 1: That's what you'd look like after I was done with you.
- 45:23Speaker 4: And we are back with James Pogres.
- 45:29Speaker 3: How do you say your last name, dude?
- 45:30Speaker 2: Pogres.
- 45:32Speaker 3: With James Pogres. We are back with James Pogres.
- 45:37Speaker 1: You kind of mess up the Oprah intro if you
- 45:39Speaker 1: have to. Oprah never paused and said, how do you
- 45:41Speaker 1: say your last name? And he's like, it's Cruz.
- 45:42Speaker 3: It's Cruz. Tom Cruz. Well, I mean, James Pogres. Pogris
- 45:49Speaker 3: is not Tom Cruise.
- 45:51Speaker 1: Yet, James. James, yet.
- 45:54Speaker 3: You will be one day, we believe. What's that on
- 45:56Speaker 3: your shirt, dude? That's a dope shirt. What is that?
- 45:59Speaker 2: It says Pink Freud. It's Sigmund Freud.
- 46:02Speaker 1: Nice.
- 46:03Speaker 3: That's dope. Nice.
- 46:04Speaker 1: And I see you have something related to my face
- 46:06Speaker 1: on behind you. What's that about?
- 46:09Speaker 2: It's your Dr. Acula photo.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Oh, nice. I'm glad it's not like... To-do list, kill. James,
- 46:24Speaker 1: where are you calling from, sir?
- 46:26Speaker 2: Cleveland, Ohio.
- 46:28Speaker 1: Well, welcome to the show.
- 46:29Speaker 3: One of my favorite cities, Cleveland, Ohio.
- 46:31Speaker 1: I love the food, Cleveland, Ohio. Donald's going to ask
- 46:33Speaker 1: you about restaurants. He's going to ask you about restaurants.
- 46:35Speaker 4: I'm not going to ask about restaurants. We've already had
- 46:37Speaker 4: conversations about the restaurants.
- 46:38Speaker 3: But dude, have you been to Slimans?
- 46:43Speaker 5: No, no.
- 46:44Speaker 3: You've never been to Slimans? And you're from Cleveland?
- 46:47Speaker 1: Maybe you're saying it wrong, Donald. Maybe it's something else.
- 46:52Speaker 1: Did we lose James?
- 46:53Speaker 3: Jaime, are you still there? Uh-oh.
- 46:58Speaker 1: By the way, while he works out his tech problems,
- 47:00Speaker 1: we skip something that's very crucial in this episode when
- 47:03Speaker 1: I say thanks a latte to Jay Moore.
- 47:06Speaker 3: Thanks a latte.
- 47:08Speaker 1: Thanks a latte.
- 47:09Speaker 3: And then you didn't get the joke.
- 47:12Speaker 1: My character didn't get the joke. And also, we spoke
- 47:14Speaker 1: about how poorly some people hold coffee cups when they're
- 47:18Speaker 1: supposed to be full in television shows. And I want
- 47:21Speaker 1: to apologize. This was horrible. I'm holding it with two fingers,
- 47:25Speaker 1: and it looks like there's nothing in there at all.
- 47:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 47:28Speaker 1: So I apologize to the fans for horrible coffee acting.
- 47:32Speaker 3: James, are you back?
- 47:33Speaker 2: I'm back.
- 47:34Speaker 3: Right on.
- 47:34Speaker 1: Oh, good. We got you.
- 47:35Speaker 3: So you're in Cleveland, and you haven't had slimings?
- 47:39Speaker 2: Well, you were saying Simon's before.
- 47:41Speaker 3: No, I said slime with an L.
- 47:43Speaker 2: I didn't hear the L. I thought you were saying Simon's.
- 47:46Speaker 3: Have you had Simon's before?
- 47:48Speaker 5: I haven't gone there. My wife has gone there and
- 47:51Speaker 5: brought me food from there.
- 47:53Speaker 3: That's the biggest sandwich I've ever had in my life.
- 47:55Speaker 3: It's so delicious.
- 47:56Speaker 1: You're kind of like Homer Simpson, Donald. You dream of
- 47:59Speaker 1: old sandwiches you had.
- 48:02Speaker 4: Not only do I dream of old sandwiches I have,
- 48:04Speaker 4: I love donuts. Speaking of donuts, everybody keeps asking me
- 48:07Speaker 4: about the donut machine.
- 48:08Speaker 1: Yeah, you returned the machine?
- 48:09Speaker 3: I returned it.
- 48:10Speaker 4: I returned the donut machine because that shit was way
- 48:13Speaker 4: too big and that would have taken a lot of oil, one,
- 48:16Speaker 4: to freaking make these donuts. So I apologize to everybody
- 48:19Speaker 4: who had dreams of me doing Donnie's donuts and stuff
- 48:22Speaker 4: like that.
- 48:22Speaker 1: One guy even made you like a branding situation.
- 48:26Speaker 3: I could not do it. I'm sorry. I apologize to everyone. James,
- 48:31Speaker 3: I am sorry. I apologize.
- 48:33Speaker 1: Could you have put your new hobby of fried chicken,
- 48:37Speaker 1: could you have put that in the donut machine? Maybe
- 48:39Speaker 1: that would have helped you make all the chicken you
- 48:41Speaker 1: want to make.
- 48:42Speaker 4: When I look back at it now, that probably would
- 48:44Speaker 4: have been a great idea.
- 48:46Speaker 3: But I don't know how long.
- 48:47Speaker 4: It's like the Krispy Kreme conveyor belt. So it goes
- 48:50Speaker 4: through and it's all timed out perfectly.
- 48:53Speaker 3: So no... I probably could have, but I don't know
- 48:56Speaker 3: how cooked the chicken would have been.
- 48:57Speaker 1: Be honest.
- 48:57Speaker 3: It's not about the donut machine. It's not about the
- 48:59Speaker 3: donut machine. Watch out.
- 49:01Speaker 1: Have you gone on the internet and looked up how
- 49:03Speaker 1: much a commercial deep fryer is yet? Be honest.
- 49:07Speaker 3: I'm going to be honest with you because that chicken
- 49:08Speaker 3: was so good. Yes, I have.
- 49:13Speaker 5: I knew it.
- 49:14Speaker 3: I knew you.
- 49:14Speaker 1: Not only that, not only that, but Ooni.
- 49:17Speaker 3: Reached out to me.
- 49:18Speaker 4: Shut up. Yeah, they did after they saw the pizza
- 49:22Speaker 4: that I posted. And we're in conversation right now. So
- 49:26Speaker 4: shout out to Ooni Pizza Ovens. We're going to talk
- 49:30Speaker 4: about you guys for a hot second because yes, absolutely.
- 49:34Speaker 3: I want the pro.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Yeah, by the way, I'm going to shout out Ooni myself.
- 49:39Speaker 1: And they are not sponsored by us. We get no kickback.
- 49:42Speaker 1: But we can both tell you that this is a
- 49:44Speaker 1: really cool thing. By the way, you can't get one
- 49:46Speaker 1: right now because they're so back ordered. But you could
- 49:49Speaker 1: probably get one by Christmas. It's a great present. They're
- 49:51Speaker 1: not that crazy expensive for what it is. I think
- 49:54Speaker 1: they might be like $ 300, $ 400. But it's an outdoor
- 49:58Speaker 1: pizza oven. It either connects to a propane tank or
- 50:01Speaker 1: you can do it with wood and charcoal if you want.
- 50:04Speaker 1: But this is like, this is like made me and
- 50:07Speaker 1: Flo's summer. I mean, she just started getting so into it.
- 50:10Speaker 1: And then we got all our friends into it and
- 50:12Speaker 1: we like Donald's now obsessed. So, uh, Definitely, it's a
- 50:16Speaker 1: great Christmas present if you can get in now before
- 50:19Speaker 1: they're all sold out.
- 50:21Speaker 3: I imagine it'll be impossible to get one for Christmas,
- 50:23Speaker 3: but if you can get.
- 50:24Speaker 1: One, do what you got to do. Well, then, good
- 50:25Speaker 1: friends at Uni, we're not going to keep giving you
- 50:26Speaker 1: free promotion unless you step up production. I think they're
- 50:31Speaker 1: made in Sweden or Switzerland or something.
- 50:34Speaker 4: I don't know, but it was delicious. Look, man, it's
- 50:37Speaker 4: one of the best home cooking products that I have.
- 50:40Speaker 4: But we're not talking about all of that stuff right now.
- 50:42Speaker 4: We're here with James.
- 50:44Speaker 1: Yes, James. James, if the good people at Ooni really
- 50:47Speaker 1: would step it up, we could be doing shit like,
- 50:48Speaker 1: and James, for being a great caller, we're sending you
- 50:51Speaker 1: an Ooni pizza oven for your backyard.
- 50:54Speaker 2: I'm just happy to be on the podcast with you guys.
- 50:56Speaker 2: I did not think this was going to happen for me.
- 50:59Speaker 3: You didn't think it was going to happen?
- 51:00Speaker 2: You didn't secret the shit?
- 51:02Speaker 3: You don't got a whiteboard?
- 51:04Speaker 2: Jamie has written in every.
- 51:05Speaker 3: Single day for, I want to say, like three months.
- 51:09Speaker 1: Wow.
- 51:09Speaker 3: You've been persistent.
- 51:12Speaker 5: I started July 1st is when I caught up to
- 51:15Speaker 5: the most current podcast. And that's when I started. And
- 51:17Speaker 5: it was just one email for the first two days.
- 51:19Speaker 5: And then it turned into two emails a day. And
- 51:21Speaker 5: then it just kind of got out of control. I
- 51:23Speaker 5: went back and counted. It's total. It's 166 emails since
- 51:27Speaker 5: July 1st.
- 51:28Speaker 3: Wow.
- 51:28Speaker 4: What was the bad guy's name in romancing the stone
- 51:32Speaker 4: that was chasing after Joan Wilder and Michael Douglas, his character.
- 51:36Speaker 3: I'm looking it up.
- 51:38Speaker 4: I crack up every time because the he was so
- 51:42Speaker 4: persistent right and even the even the dude who has
- 51:46Speaker 4: the mule the drug dealer who has the mule and
- 51:49Speaker 4: is driving the uh the mule jefe the car it's
- 51:52Speaker 4: like a bronco or some shit like that and he
- 51:55Speaker 4: looks back he goes wow this guy is very persistent
- 51:58Speaker 4: that's you jamie that's.
- 52:00Speaker 5: You i even um i i I tweeted all three
- 52:03Speaker 5: of you a video where I do a J.D.
- 52:06Speaker 2: Thinking in his head thing about me never getting on
- 52:08Speaker 2: the podcast.
- 52:10Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh.
- 52:12Speaker 1: Wow.
- 52:12Speaker 3: Well, you know what?
- 52:13Speaker 4: Listen, to all our listeners out there who have aspirations
- 52:17Speaker 4: of dreams and dreams of being on Fake Doctors, Real Friends.
- 52:21Speaker 3: Take Jamie's— Oh, poor Joel.
- 52:24Speaker 1: Take Jamie's advice.
- 52:28Speaker 3: Go hard.
- 52:29Speaker 4: Go hard at Joelle, and she might let something slip through.
- 52:34Speaker 3: That's all I'm saying.
- 52:35Speaker 1: You know, the real lesson is however hard you thought
- 52:38Speaker 1: you were going at something, somebody else was going harder, Donald.
- 52:43Speaker 3: There it is. There it is. There it is.
- 52:45Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying?
- 52:46Speaker 3: That person is James.
- 52:47Speaker 1: Yes.
- 52:48Speaker 3: Oh, grass!
- 52:49Speaker 1: Okay, James, that is quite an intro. What is your question?
- 52:53Speaker 1: You've been very persistent. I hope that you have one
- 52:56Speaker 1: after all this time.
- 52:57Speaker 2: I do.
- 52:57Speaker 5: I actually, I wanted to try and get the Turk
- 53:00Speaker 5: to my JD on here. His name is Ben, but
- 53:03Speaker 5: he's at work. He couldn't show up. So I have
- 53:05Speaker 5: a question from me and one from him. But I
- 53:07Speaker 5: wanted to ask if you guys could do a quick
- 53:10Speaker 5: shout out to my brother-in-law, Mike, and my best friend, Ben.
- 53:12Speaker 2: Because they would have also loved to have been on here.
- 53:16Speaker 3: Mike, Ben, Ben.
- 53:19Speaker 4: Jamie wanted us to shout you out, so we're going
- 53:21Speaker 4: to do it.
- 53:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:22Speaker 3: I don't know your last name.
- 53:23Speaker 1: Don't worry about it.
- 53:26Speaker 4: So any Mike and Ben out there can take this
- 53:28Speaker 4: as a shout out, obviously.
- 53:30Speaker 1: This is to all the Mikes and Bens out there. Listen,
- 53:34Speaker 1: if your name is Mike or Ben, I love you.
- 53:37Speaker 1: I love you more.
- 53:39Speaker 3: No, wait, wait. Zach, I love them more.
- 53:41Speaker 2: Whoa.
- 53:42Speaker 1: Okay. So this could be your own personal ringtone. Mike, Ben,
- 53:47Speaker 1: I love you.
- 53:49Speaker 3: I love you more.
- 53:49Speaker 5: Okay.
- 53:51Speaker 1: All right, now go ahead, James. Can I ask us
- 53:53Speaker 1: a question?
- 53:53Speaker 2: The one that I had was every time I watched
- 53:56Speaker 2: the point where J.D.
- 53:58Speaker 5: Finally admits that he put the quarter in the door,
- 54:00Speaker 5: at the end of that exchange, I feel like that
- 54:03Speaker 5: there was at the beginnings of a friendship between him
- 54:06Speaker 5: and the janitor rather than them still being enemies. And
- 54:09Speaker 5: I wondered if Neil Flynn was up to it, if
- 54:14Speaker 5: you guys would actually record just sometime after that point,
- 54:19Speaker 5: JD and the janitor just getting along and getting into
- 54:21Speaker 5: trouble together. Because I feel like rather than trying to
- 54:25Speaker 5: get JD in trouble, the janitor would still do his
- 54:26Speaker 5: crazy stuff, but now he would invite him along for it.
- 54:29Speaker 3: Well, here's the thing.
- 54:30Speaker 4: After season eight, Neil got another show and went on
- 54:36Speaker 4: to do a television, a very big popular television show
- 54:39Speaker 4: called The Middle. And there was a moment in season nine,
- 54:44Speaker 4: the first episode, Where he came back for one episode
- 54:49Speaker 4: to end the whole J.D. janitor thing where he's like,
- 54:56Speaker 4: he comes to work and he's like, so where's J.D.?
- 55:00Speaker 4: And I'm like, he's gone. He doesn't work here anymore.
- 55:03Speaker 4: And the janitor's like, well, you know what? then I'm
- 55:05Speaker 4: not working here anymore.
- 55:06Speaker 3: That's pretty much the joke. And he leaves.
- 55:09Speaker 4: And so there was closure. I like to think that
- 55:11Speaker 4: that would have happened too. I think the janitor and
- 55:14Speaker 4: JD do become friends.
- 55:15Speaker 1: I have something for you, James, that's going to help
- 55:18Speaker 1: you out with your fantasy. And that is that when
- 55:21Speaker 1: I was promoting Alex Inc., one of the most popular
- 55:24Speaker 1: shows to ever go, only 10 episodes ever, Neil was
- 55:28Speaker 1: kind enough.
- 55:29Speaker 3: Did you guys get 10?
- 55:31Speaker 1: Yeah, we did 10.
- 55:32Speaker 5: Nice.
- 55:32Speaker 1: 10 magical episodes.
- 55:34Speaker 4: One of the most popular shows ever to get 10.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it is. If you look at the
- 55:39Speaker 1: Guinness Book of World Records, it's the show that only
- 55:42Speaker 1: went 10 episodes that was the most popular in the
- 55:45Speaker 1: most amount of people's hearts.
- 55:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:48Speaker 1: Those people didn't necessarily watch the show, but they were
- 55:53Speaker 1: rooting for it in their hearts.
- 55:55Speaker 4: Well, you know what the most popular show to ever
- 55:58Speaker 4: get 12 episodes was, right?
- 56:01Speaker 1: That thing he did in Jersey.
- 56:02Speaker 3: Emergence.
- 56:03Speaker 4: Emergence was one of those shows that, I'm going to
- 56:06Speaker 4: tell you something right now, ABC knew they had gold.
- 56:10Speaker 4: It's just the people didn't.
- 56:13Speaker 1: A lot of shows get canceled that are good. I'm
- 56:14Speaker 1: not saying, I'm joking about Alex Inc. I don't think
- 56:17Speaker 1: that it was fully working, but there's plenty of shows
- 56:21Speaker 1: I like, and I'm sure lots of listeners that are like,
- 56:23Speaker 1: why did you cancel that? I mean, and I'm not
- 56:25Speaker 1: saying scrubs because we did nine years, depending on what
- 56:29Speaker 1: you believe. But I'm talking about shows that go like
- 56:30Speaker 1: two or three seasons and they're done. But I wanted
- 56:33Speaker 1: to say that when I was promoting the show, James,
- 56:37Speaker 1: Neil was kind enough to do some promotional stuff for
- 56:40Speaker 1: me because we knew the fans would love it. And
- 56:42Speaker 1: we did one of those things where we tell dad
- 56:44Speaker 1: jokes to each other and we try and make each
- 56:46Speaker 1: other laugh. So it's on YouTube. You can go check
- 56:49Speaker 1: it out. It's like Neil and I sitting across from
- 56:52Speaker 1: each other. obviously not in character as JD and the janitor.
- 56:57Speaker 1: And we're trading dad jokes. And the idea is like,
- 57:00Speaker 1: they're so bad. Sometimes you just have to laugh because
- 57:02Speaker 1: you're so stupid. And we're trying, like you're trying not
- 57:05Speaker 1: to laugh at the dad joke.
- 57:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 57:07Speaker 2: I've seen a bunch of those. I don't know how
- 57:09Speaker 2: I missed the one with you.
- 57:10Speaker 1: Well, you go check it out. If you, yeah, if
- 57:12Speaker 1: you go look up that he was nice enough to
- 57:14Speaker 1: do that with me. So that's sort of like the
- 57:16Speaker 1: one example I can think of right now of like,
- 57:19Speaker 1: Me and Neil being friends in real life. I really
- 57:21Speaker 1: like Neil a lot. He's such a wonderful, funny man.
- 57:26Speaker 1: Just our paths don't cross a ton in IRL, as
- 57:29Speaker 1: the kids say.
- 57:31Speaker 5: I also wanted to tell you about a year and
- 57:34Speaker 5: a half ago, I was going to the doctor's office.
- 57:36Speaker 5: I had to go into the hospital to get some papers.
- 57:40Speaker 5: And on my way in, there happened to be a
- 57:42Speaker 5: janitor working there. And he was pulling rocks out of
- 57:45Speaker 5: the track for the door because it had gotten stuck.
- 57:49Speaker 5: And I just, I couldn't help myself. At first, I
- 57:53Speaker 5: went inside and I said, if he's still going to
- 57:55Speaker 5: come out, I'm going to do it. He was still there.
- 57:56Speaker 5: And so I went ahead and said, maybe somebody put
- 57:58Speaker 5: a penny in there. And I don't know that he
- 58:01Speaker 5: got the reference, but he did look at me like
- 58:03Speaker 5: he wanted to kill me. And I felt like that
- 58:05Speaker 5: was still the perfect response because it was just like
- 58:07Speaker 5: the hand that hurt.
- 58:09Speaker 1: I'm so bummed that that guy didn't know the door joke.
- 58:12Speaker 1: How could you be a janitor at a hospital fixing
- 58:15Speaker 1: the track of an electric door and not know that joke?
- 58:19Speaker 1: I mean, I just feel like that should come with
- 58:20Speaker 1: the job.
- 58:22Speaker 5: I did it because when I was in college, my
- 58:26Speaker 5: teacher stopped class early and said someone had to go
- 58:29Speaker 5: to a coronation. And in my head, I thought I
- 58:31Speaker 5: should stand up and sing the song from Frozen where
- 58:34Speaker 5: she gets the.
- 58:35Speaker 2: She gets up and says, it's Coronation Day. And I
- 58:37Speaker 2: didn't do it.
- 58:38Speaker 5: And my wife has never forgiven me for not taking
- 58:40Speaker 5: that opportunity because I'll never get it again.
- 58:42Speaker 2: So now every time I get a chance.
- 58:43Speaker 3: That would have been amazing.
- 58:44Speaker 2: Every time I get a chance to reference a show,
- 58:46Speaker 2: whether or.
- 58:47Speaker 3: Not I do it. Who would know me on 2,000 plates?
- 58:53Speaker 2: But I failed.
- 58:54Speaker 1: All right.
- 58:54Speaker 2: All right.
- 58:56Speaker 1: James, do you have another question for us?
- 58:59Speaker 5: Yeah, my best friend Ben asked why Dr. Acula wasn't
- 59:03Speaker 5: more fleshed out because he thought it was really awesome
- 59:07Speaker 5: and he would have loved to see more episodes centered
- 59:09Speaker 5: around that, because Dr. Cox actually kind of liked it,
- 59:12Speaker 5: and the janitor knew about it and stuff.
- 59:15Speaker 1: You know, it really is a fan favorite, James. It's
- 59:17Speaker 1: something that Donald and I get asked all the time.
- 59:20Speaker 1: When are you guys going to make Dr. Acula? I
- 59:22Speaker 1: one day... I don't know if I had had jazz
- 59:24Speaker 1: lettuce or what, but I wrote like an elaborate paragraph
- 59:27Speaker 1: to Bill Lawrence about like a funny take on what
- 59:30Speaker 1: a Scrubs movie would be. And it included a section
- 59:33Speaker 1: on incorporating Donald and I making Dr. Dracula. I can
- 59:38Speaker 1: tell you that... People really loved it. So if we
- 59:42Speaker 1: ever do a Scrubs movie or thing, I think we
- 59:45Speaker 1: have to find a way that it's a part of it. Right, Donald?
- 59:47Speaker 4: I truly believe that the Scrubs movie should just be Dr. Acula,
- 59:52Speaker 4: where it has all of the characters from Scrubs portraying
- 59:56Speaker 4: characters in Dr.
- 59:59Speaker 3: Acula. Obviously, I think that would be amazing. The question is,
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: who's Dr. Acula? Is it going to be JD or
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: is it going to be Turk?
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: Speaking of retro shows... James, Zach, Joel, Danil. Have you
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: guys watched Cobra Kai?
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: No, that's the Karate Kid show. Danil, I'm surprised that you.
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: Danil, you haven't watched Cobra Kai?
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Danil, you seem like a retro kind of fella. Oh,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: thank you. I was too busy playing video games.
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: I did watch Dave, though.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: Did you like Dave? I loved Dave. Dave is so good,
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: you guys.
- 1:00:32Speaker 4: If you get a chance and you want to feel nostalgia...
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: Cobra Kai is so much fun. It's just as fun
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: as the Karate Kid, the original Karate Kid. If you
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: get a chance, all of the stars are in.
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: It, too.
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: Please check out Cobra Kai. They're teasing that she might
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: show up for season three.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: Not only did she go to my high school, but
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: she was one of my early crushes.
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: My wife looks like Elizabeth Shue, dude. She was everybody's crush.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: Well, then I had a crush on Casey Cobb when
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: I was a child.
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: Do you know who else was my crush when I
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: was a kid? Do you know who else was my crush?
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: Whatchamacallit's sister. The one that's married to Ryan Reynolds.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: Blake Lively. Her older sister. What, she's an actress?
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: Yes. When I was a kid, that was one of
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: my biggest crushes.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: We're going to need her name because I don't know
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: that I know her work.
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: Is it Inez or Betty? The redhead. Oh, boy. Hold on.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: Well, now she's got to go look for what she
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: looked like when she was young. Come on, Donald. You're
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: making Joelle do all the work.
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: I don't know her name. All I knew her was...
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: What show was she on?
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: How did you know her?
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: She was, like, in a bunch of things. She was always, like,
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: the guest star on things. Never really the star of it,
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: but she was my... Oh, my God. Like, I would
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: have dreams about her.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: Speaking of Ryan Reynolds, we're trying to get Ryan Reynolds
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: to come on for the finale. I know people have
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: asked for it. Donald and I love him, but we're
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: not day-to-day friends with him. So if anyone's listening and
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: knows Ryan Reynolds, tell him to come on the podcast.
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: I have a really embarrassing Ryan Reynolds story, too.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: Oh, God. Maybe he's not going to come on because
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: you did something embarrassing because you're bad with celebrities.
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: Dude, I'm so bad with celebrities. Oh, no.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: What did you do to Ryan Reynolds?
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: Do you want to hear this story, James?
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: Yes, of course James wants to hear it.
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: So one night, Zach takes me out to this swanky
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: Hollywood party, right? It was Jeffrey Katzenberg's party, as a
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: matter of fact. And I remember we get there, and
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: George Clooney makes a joke to Zach.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: He goes.
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: I don't bring Noah Wiley to these parties. Why are
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: you bringing Donald Faison?
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: That's a good joke.
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: And I was like... And I remember thinking.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: You're like, I'm no Noah Wiley, sir.
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: No, I love Noah Wiley. Noah Wiley is a very
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: good actor. But I remember thinking, that was kind of rude. Anyway,
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: we're in a party and I managed to.
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: By the way, Noah Wiley is a great actor. I
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: didn't mean to... I was just doing a joke. I
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: think he's a fantastic actor.
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: I remember getting so fucking drunk at this party. Oh, boy.
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: I felt like somebody might have even slipped me something.
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: So that's my excuse.
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: Yeah, right. You fucking slipped yourself something.
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: So that's my excuse.
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: I think somebody was trying to get at me and
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: trying to do something with me that night.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: What did you do to Ryan Reynolds? This is crucial
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: if he'll come on the.
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: Show or not.
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: He's talking to a bunch of people, right? He's talking
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: to like three other people. And I come up to
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: him and I'm.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: Like, Ryan!
- 1:03:38Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: And he looks at me. He goes, oh, God, Donald.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: And I go, Ryan!
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: Give me a hug.
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: Oh, no. Oh, no.
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: He's like, I don't want to hug Donald. No, I'm
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: not going to give you a hug. I was like, Ryan,
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: give me a fucking hug.
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: He's like, no, I'm not going to hug you. I
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: was like, then I'm going to take it.
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: And I grab Ryan Reynolds and I start humping his
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: leg like a dog.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: Oh, my God. He's not coming on the fucking show.
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: He'll never come on the show, dude. He's not going
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: to come on the show.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: You did the thing that dogs do to people.
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: I started hopping on his leg and then I pushed
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: him away and I was.
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: Like, I'm through. And I walk away.
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: Oh my God. Why didn't you tell me this?
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: And then he looks at the people that he's talking to, like,
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: you know, sorry. Oh God.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: Oh my God.
- 1:04:20Speaker 4: And then I realized in my drunken stupor at that moment,
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: I'm like, oh shit. I just made an ass out
- 1:04:25Speaker 4: of myself. And I walked away and stuff like that.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: You really got to pace yourself when you're at parties, Donald.
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: I can't help it. I get excited when I see
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: people who I admire. Ryan, you're one of them. And
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: also because I've known you for a really long time.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: All right, listen, Ryan, I don't know that you're listening
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: or maybe you're Ryan's best friend from high school and
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: you love the podcast. Tell him that Donald is sorry
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: for drunkenly humping his leg at a party.
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: I'm so apologizing. I apologize.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: And the fans would love it if you'd come on
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: for the season finale of season two, which is coming
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: upon us another season soon, Joel.
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: James, do you want to say something to get Ryan
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: on here, James?
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: Yeah, James, is there anything you could say? I imagine
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: you're a Ryan fan. Anything you have that could maybe
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: lure him back into the fold?
- 1:05:13Speaker 5: I was surprised when I caught him doing, I can't
- 1:05:16Speaker 5: remember the name of the game, but it's similar to
- 1:05:18Speaker 5: Candy Crush.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: That's an app.
- 1:05:20Speaker 5: Just a simple game you can play. You don't have
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: to pay for it to play it. And I thought,
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: what's he doing? doing little app commercials like this i
- 1:05:28Speaker 5: feel like if he can do that then uh why
- 1:05:30Speaker 5: he could do the podcast because that's way below what
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: you guys are it's just a little it's it's like
- 1:05:35Speaker 5: a candy crush yeah.
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: But yeah but he probably paid him so much money see.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: They're probably paying him silly money we we can't pay
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: him silly money we can just pay him with love.
- 1:05:44Speaker 5: But you don't know if you're silly james i don't
- 1:05:46Speaker 5: like james i don't know maybe that would work.
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: Out james i don't know if you know this but
- 1:05:50Speaker 4: Ryan Reynolds just made a crap ton of money selling booze.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: Yes, he made a lot of money selling booze. But
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: I'll tell you what, we can promise you, Ryan, a
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: signed Turk Funko Pop.
- 1:06:02Speaker 4: Yeah, and if you are nostalgic and want to go
- 1:06:06Speaker 4: back and remember that moment when I humped your leg,
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: you could use the Turk Funko Pop as me.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: Or we could buy a Deadpool Funko Pop and then
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: take the Turk Funko Pop and make it hump it.
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: Just saying.
- 1:06:22Speaker 5: I'll dedicate to watching every single one of his movies
- 1:06:24Speaker 5: from this point forward.
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: Oh, there you go. There you go, Ryan.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: I think that's pretty good. There it is. Ryan, thunderous applause, Dan.
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: Thunderous applause.
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: There it is. James is going to watch every one
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: of your movies, even Green Lantern.
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: Ryan, James has promised to watch every movie you've ever done.
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: And if you come on the podcast. And Donald is
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: sorry for the leg situation.
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: I'm sorry for humping your leg.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: You didn't finish. You didn't finish, did you, Donald?
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: No, I did. Well, I did say after, I'm finished
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: with you and pushed him away.
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: Oh, no. Oh, this is not going well. I wish
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: you would have told me the story because I've been
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: trying through back channels, through agents and publicists to no avail.
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: And for all I know, he's going, Donald Faison, the
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: guy who tried to bump my knee at a party? No.
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: Oh, God. So embarrassed.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: All right. Well, James, we're going to segue with this
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: theme song that Daniel's going to play to a new
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: segment called Fix Your Life. And I hope you have
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: something where Donald and I can fix your life because
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: we're very good at this. It's America's favorite segment on
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: any podcast ever. I just read that online.
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: James, it's time to fix your life.
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: All right, James, what do you got for us?
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: Um, I was trying to think of it last night
- 1:07:44Speaker 5: because I forgot all about it until I was in
- 1:07:46Speaker 5: bed and unable to sleep because I got the email
- 1:07:48Speaker 5: and was freaking out. But I guess I'll bring up
- 1:07:52Speaker 5: the fact that my three-year-old son has decided that pooping
- 1:07:57Speaker 5: is just not for him anymore.
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: And so he's just not going to do it.
- 1:08:00Speaker 5: And so it's literally every three days we have to
- 1:08:04Speaker 5: have him on like a laxative regimen. And then the
- 1:08:07Speaker 5: doctors have told us to give him these little baby enemas, which.
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: Is a very uh, horrible, uh, experience for, for everyone involved.
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: And I wondered if you guys had any, uh, advice
- 1:08:20Speaker 5: that you could give on a better way to try
- 1:08:22Speaker 5: and encourage him.
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: I will say this, uh, you know, as a father
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: who has experienced moments like this, where a child has decided,
- 1:08:33Speaker 4: you know what? I don't want to poo anymore. Uh,
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: you gotta make it exciting. OK, and figure out a
- 1:08:40Speaker 4: way to make going to the bathroom not a chore,
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: but something fun. Like when I was a kid, I
- 1:08:48Speaker 4: hated to brush my teeth. And my parents figured out
- 1:08:52Speaker 4: a way to make it so that I would want
- 1:08:56Speaker 4: to brush my teeth. And they got me an electric
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: toothbrush and it was, you know. Darth Vader toothbrush, so
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: now I'm brushing my teeth pretending I'm Darth Vader and
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: stuff like that. My advice to you is to figure
- 1:09:09Speaker 4: out a way to make going to the bathroom a game,
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: whether it be, and I'm sure your pediatrician probably told
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: you this, Maybe there's rewards.
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: For every time. I used to, I would do anything
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: for stickers when I was a kid.
- 1:09:22Speaker 4: Right. Maybe there's a reward for every time you go
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: to the bathroom and poo.
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: Like you get his favorite.
- 1:09:29Speaker 4: But I totally, I totally, I totally understand because kids
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: get crazy like that. And all kidding aside, they do
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: get crazy like that. And there's a moment in time
- 1:09:38Speaker 4: when they're like, I don't want to do this anymore.
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: But if you can figure out a way to make
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: it so that it's a game and that it's fun
- 1:09:45Speaker 4: and And that it only works when they're in the bathroom.
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: The only time you can play the game is when
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: you're in the bathroom and you're sitting on the toilet.
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: Maybe things will turn around.
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: I gotta tell you that I loved stickers. And if you...
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: When I was a kid... And I still love stickers,
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: by the way. But when I was a kid, if
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: you got... If you find out whatever his favorite thing
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: to watch is, you can probably get a sticker for
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: that on the interwebs. And just be like... Every time
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: you poop, you get one of these. Oh, and look
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: at this amazing one. I know you want, you don't
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: get it until you poop. And then you, um, and then,
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: and you put the stickers on a chart.
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: Also, if it adds, and it's crazy because nobody wants
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: to ever be like, you know, I have to bribe
- 1:10:22Speaker 4: my kid to go to the bathroom, but if it
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: adds up to something, you know what I mean?
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: Like a certain amount.
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: Of stickers equals an ice cream trip or a certain
- 1:10:31Speaker 4: amount of stickers equals whatever it is, uh, he likes, uh,
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: I think you might find a little bit of success
- 1:10:39Speaker 4: in that.
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: Take it from me. I've had plenty of children.
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: And a few of them have had this dilemma.
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: There you go. So you're not alone, James. Donald's many
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: children have refused to poop over the years. And we
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: have a new term for it that I'm not sure
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: you were on the call for.
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: It's also very natural. So don't think of it as,
- 1:11:03Speaker 4: you know, this is a... you know, this is a
- 1:11:08Speaker 4: problem because eventually you won't have to deal with this anymore.
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: Yes, and we have a new term for it too, James.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: It's called growing a tail. So you can tell him,
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: come on, buddy, time to grow a tail.
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: Anyway, James, you're welcome. We just fixed your life.
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: Yeah, you're welcome. Thunders applause.
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: I'm going to try those. I didn't even think about them.
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: Well, that's why we're here.
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: Sincerely, in all honesty, that is a real... That is
- 1:11:36Speaker 4: a real thing that you can try.
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: Make it a game.
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: Make it an experience that is fun because it's stressful
- 1:11:47Speaker 4: to have to poo, especially when you're a child. And
- 1:11:50Speaker 4: he could be afraid of the toilet. He could be
- 1:11:52Speaker 4: afraid of what comes out of the toilet.
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm not a doctor in real life.
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: I'm a fake doctor.
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: I'd like to have it's stressful to poo Donald Faison
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: on a mug.
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: Well, adults know this too. Any adult knows this. It's
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: stressful to poo. If you don't poo.
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: I don't think it's stressful to poo. It's nice to poo.
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: Absolutely. Dude, if you don't poo in one or two days,
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: you're fucking stressed out. Like, why am I not pooing?
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: How come I'm not pooing? It's a stressful situation.
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: We should probably get off poo because there's probably some
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: people eating a salad right now. James, we got to go,
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: but thank you so much. I'm glad you finally broke
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: Joelle down and got on the show.
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: Can I tell you one more thing before we go?
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 1:12:30Speaker 5: Because this is the big thing that the, uh, the
- 1:12:32Speaker 5: email that was responded to that got me on here. Um, uh,
- 1:12:35Speaker 5: first of all, I owe it to my wife that
- 1:12:36Speaker 5: I even ever watched scrubs. Cause I didn't, uh, I
- 1:12:39Speaker 5: was younger when it came out. So I didn't watch
- 1:12:42Speaker 5: it as it came out and she watched it when
- 1:12:43Speaker 5: I was at work. And, um, she showed me the
- 1:12:45Speaker 5: guy love song one day. And so it was me
- 1:12:47Speaker 5: and my best friend. And that's what hooked me onto it.
- 1:12:49Speaker 5: And then I, I've been watching it on repeat ever since. Um,
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: but my, my, uh, my father passed away in 2017
- 1:12:55Speaker 5: from stomach cancer. Oh, And, um, I, at that point
- 1:12:59Speaker 5: I had seen the series through once and I'd watched
- 1:13:02Speaker 5: it halfway through, but then when his complications got worse,
- 1:13:05Speaker 5: I stopped watching TV and I stopped.
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: Doing anything fun. I just was trying to pay attention
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: to what was going on with him and hope that
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: it was going to get better.
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: And it was like, um, around six months after he passed,
- 1:13:16Speaker 5: I started watching the show again to try and feel
- 1:13:18Speaker 5: normal again.
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: I was having a really bad day. Uh, when I
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: got to the last episode, um, I considered.
- 1:13:24Speaker 5: The, uh, Zach watching the last, uh, fantasy, the last
- 1:13:27Speaker 5: episode and whatever happens after that it's just a weird
- 1:13:30Speaker 5: fever dream of some sort but um uh he i
- 1:13:33Speaker 5: was watching that and for some reason um i i
- 1:13:36Speaker 5: was i was really depressed i couldn't get myself to
- 1:13:38Speaker 5: just do what i had to do you know for
- 1:13:40Speaker 5: my my family my kids i i just kept thinking
- 1:13:42Speaker 5: about him and i didn't want to to um function
- 1:13:46Speaker 5: like i didn't i didn't even want that feeling and
- 1:13:49Speaker 5: um for some reason as soon as jd said it's
- 1:13:52Speaker 5: never good to live in the past too long it
- 1:13:55Speaker 5: hit me a.
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: Started to break me out of it. And then when
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: I listened.
- 1:14:00Speaker 5: To the book of love and watch that scene, I
- 1:14:02Speaker 5: just thought like my dad had told me before he
- 1:14:04Speaker 5: passed to live my life and to find a way
- 1:14:07Speaker 5: to be okay with what's.
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: Happening and then let him go and all that stuff.
- 1:14:11Speaker 5: And that was the moment I was able to do
- 1:14:12Speaker 5: that because it was like, I've always been a dreamer
- 1:14:15Speaker 5: like that, where I would kind of imagine what my
- 1:14:17Speaker 5: life would be. And so watching that scene again, brought.
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: Me back to that part of me.
- 1:14:22Speaker 5: And I was able to, pull myself out of that
- 1:14:24Speaker 5: depression and and i owe it to that show because
- 1:14:27Speaker 5: of that especially that moment really just became so much
- 1:14:30Speaker 5: more powerful and ever since then i've just kept watching
- 1:14:32Speaker 5: it on repeat over and over again just like getting
- 1:14:34Speaker 5: ready for that moment again and it feels better every
- 1:14:37Speaker 5: time i i see it um like i love it
- 1:14:40Speaker 5: so much i i dedicated all three of my kids
- 1:14:42Speaker 5: have a song dedicated specifically to them and my son
- 1:14:45Speaker 5: got the book of love as his song as a result.
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: I love you guys. You guys are great. I love
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: you too.
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: James, we love you for saying that. You gave me
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: full body goosebumps, James.
- 1:14:59Speaker 5: I'm still waiting to wake up yesterday morning and realize, no,
- 1:15:02Speaker 5: this is real.
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: Oh, no, this is real, dude.
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: But in all seriousness, James, that means a lot to us.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: Whenever we do anything, Donald and I, our hope is
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: that whether it's Scrubs, which we're talking about now, or
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: any other project we do, your hope is that you
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: will somehow um, make someone laugh or move someone in
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: some way. We could not have fathomed the, the, um,
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: the difference that, that this show would make in some
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: people's lives. And to hear that right from you, it
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: is very meaningful to us. Please don't think for a
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: second that that doesn't really, really make us feel good. Um, uh, it,
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: it gave me full body goosebumps when you said that.
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: So thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: Thank you very much. I love you, James. I love you, brother.
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: I love you. Stay safe. And, um, And we'll see
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: you when we see you.
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:15:52Speaker 3: Bye, buddy.
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: Bye. What a sweet guy.
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: What a sweet guy. Wow. Let's take a break.
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: We'll be right back after these fine words. Let's segue
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: into something a little more chipper.
- 1:16:13Speaker 3: Elliot meets the janitor.
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: Elliot finally meets the janitor. which is thrilling. And he
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: pretends he's a very nice guy.
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: He does not want Elliot to know. Now his crush
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: hasn't really developed yet. He develops a bit of a
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: thing for her.
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: I think this, this is the beginning of it.
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: This is the beginning. Um, and she doesn't call him
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: janitor yet.
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: Not yet.
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: That's so funny when she calls him janitor. Um, now I,
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: on scrubs wiki, they said there's some misinformation about Ms. Pac-Man, um,
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: in this game. Um, First of all, someone claims that,
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: I think it was Kelso claims he got 41 million points.
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: That's not possible. The top score ever on Ms. Pac-Man
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: was 999,990. I believe it was done by an AI
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: Microsoft computer.
- 1:17:03Speaker 4: And then it turns over after that. It goes back
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: to zero after that.
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: And then also Ms. Pac-Man does not store initials. So
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: you could never have known that it was Dr. K.
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: Hmm. Well, it's Pac-Man. It's not Ms. Pac-Man.
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: It is Ms. Pac-Man.
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: Oh, is it?
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: Yeah, Rob talks about doing something.
- 1:17:21Speaker 3: Yeah, how crazy is it that Todd wants to fuck Ms. Pac-Man?
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: Yeah, Todd is turned on by anything and everything, including Ms. Pac-Man. Yeah.
- 1:17:31Speaker 3: The one thing that doesn't turn Todd on is a
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: married woman, though.
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: He says, eat those dots, you naughty girl. Oh, my God.
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: That's what Rob says to.
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: That's what the Todd says. Rob doesn't say that shit.
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: Well, Rob probably does too, but that's what the Todd says.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: That is a funny bit, though, when Carla's got her
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: engagement ring finger on, and every time she puts it on,
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: he's like, just talking, he goes, he's just, you know,
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: doctor business, takes it off, and he starts being totally inappropriate.
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: Being totally inappropriate, yeah.
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: And then he, like, he literally, she has it off,
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: and he goes, boobies, and she puts it on, and
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: he goes, charts.
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: Once again... Rob Macchio. Very funny.
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: Yeah, Rob's funny in this. There's a moment at 1415
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: when the elevator, Kelso's banging on the elevator door in
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: a flashback, and when it opens, that's a lot of
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: our crew. John Inwood, our cinematographer, is in there. Andy,
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: our gaffer, Sean, our key grip, Paul Padrera, our first AD,
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: and Bobby Forrester, our dolly grip. I don't know if
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: no one called for background performers that day, but our
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: crew filled the elevator.
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: That's awesome.
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: This wasn't my first time on a golf course, but
- 1:18:42Speaker 4: this was my first time hitting a golf ball and
- 1:18:46Speaker 4: doing what I wanted it to do in real life.
- 1:18:49Speaker 4: And this isn't where I got bit by the bug,
- 1:18:52Speaker 4: but I remember thinking when you and I and Josh
- 1:18:55Speaker 4: went to play golf that one time at Bill's birthday
- 1:18:57Speaker 4: party in the snow, which was freaking amazing. I remember thinking, oh,
- 1:19:03Speaker 4: I know how to hit a golf ball because I
- 1:19:04Speaker 4: did it once. And this was the episode that I
- 1:19:08Speaker 4: did it. And I remember when watching this thinking, wow,
- 1:19:12Speaker 4: that's really cool. Second, why did security want to kick
- 1:19:18Speaker 4: me off of the golf course? Like, why am I
- 1:19:20Speaker 4: all of a sudden a riffraff? Why did the black
- 1:19:23Speaker 4: security guard come up to the other black person and
- 1:19:26Speaker 4: be like, hold up now. You're not supposed to be here.
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: The black security guy rolls up to the only black
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: guy on the course and is like, are you supposed
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: to be here? And then Kelso to fuck with you
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: is like, no. And then he tackles you.
- 1:19:38Speaker 3: And then he tackles me. Him and his other cohort
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: tackle me.
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: Where was that course? Was that Whitsitt?
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: That was not Whitsitt. I don't know what course that was.
- 1:19:47Speaker 4: That would be great if Scrubs Wiki knew, but you know.
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: Scrubs Wiki didn't have that.
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: He don't want to do it.
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: No, don't diss him. He's a nice guy.
- 1:19:56Speaker 3: He doesn't know.
- 1:19:59Speaker 4: Judy is sexy as fuck in this episode when she's
- 1:20:02Speaker 4: standing over a dude and.
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: Is trying to put the- Very sexual. Yeah, trying to put.
- 1:20:07Speaker 4: The energy out there for him to pass out.
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: So he'll pass out.
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:20:13Speaker 4: So his narcolepsy will kick in. She's very sexy in
- 1:20:16Speaker 4: that moment. And the fact that he's like, you remind
- 1:20:19Speaker 4: me of my sister.
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: Yeah. Is hilarious. And then her thing is, I'm not
- 1:20:24Speaker 3: your sister. And then he passes out.
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: And then he passes out.
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: And then she uses Turk's- She uses Turk's catchphrase. Now
- 1:20:29Speaker 3: that's what I'm talking about.
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: Yeah, that was funny. And then at the end, it
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: ends with the janitor claiming that the boy next to
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: him is his son. And that I've embarrassed him in
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: front of his son. We quickly learn that that's not
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: his son. It's a random child standing in the hallway.
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: But so begins the janitor pretending to be a nice
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: person in front of Elliot. The lie that he's a
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: nice man.
- 1:20:57Speaker 3: Just so he could maybe one day in hopes marry her.
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: That would have been a better ending to me. She
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: should have ended up with the janitor.
- 1:21:04Speaker 3: That would be hilarious.
- 1:21:07Speaker 5: No.
- 1:21:07Speaker 4: That would have been, oh my God. First of all,
- 1:21:10Speaker 4: all the fans of the show would be like, what
- 1:21:12Speaker 4: the fuck?
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: What the fuck?
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: Well, fans want two things. They want to be surprised,
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: but they also want what they want.
- 1:21:23Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: That's always the thing with the, With the will they
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: or won't they thing. People are like, don't do that.
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: Everyone does that. And then they're like, why didn't you
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: do that? Right.
- 1:21:32Speaker 4: I'm going to just put it out there. And it's
- 1:21:35Speaker 4: a Star Wars reference. But that's the whole thing that
- 1:21:37Speaker 4: happened with the last three movies. Everybody was like, I'm
- 1:21:41Speaker 4: so sick of the traditional Star Wars. Why are we
- 1:21:44Speaker 4: having the traditional Star Wars? And then Rian Johnson... puts
- 1:21:49Speaker 4: out The Last Jedi, and everybody's like, wait a second, man.
- 1:21:53Speaker 3: You've gone off course. Why aren't you doing the traditional
- 1:21:56Speaker 3: Star Wars? And then J.J.
- 1:21:59Speaker 4: Comes back and tries to give everybody a traditional Star
- 1:22:02Speaker 4: Wars type, and everybody's.
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: Like, oh my God, you ruined it. Why didn't you
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: stick to what it was? Why didn't we stick to
- 1:22:08Speaker 3: what we established? And so just putting it out there.
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: It's hard to please everybody, Donald.
- 1:22:13Speaker 3: It is impossible to please everyone.
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: If you're out there listening, just know something. It's very
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: hard to please everyone.
- 1:22:20Speaker 3: Dan?
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: All right, everybody. I think that's the show. The answer
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: to your trivia about Blake Lively's sister is Robin Lively, Donald.
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: That's a woman you had a crush on.
- 1:22:35Speaker 3: I had the biggest crush on Robin Lively. Oh, my God.
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: Robin, if you're listening, could you ask your brother-in-law to
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: please forgive Donald?
- 1:22:43Speaker 3: Yeah, forgive me.
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: Come on the podcast. I'm pumping his leg.
- 1:22:46Speaker 4: If anything, look, your husband, Robin, he and I, we
- 1:22:51Speaker 4: did Clueless, the television show together back in the day.
- 1:22:54Speaker 4: I believe he played a foreign exchange student. It would
- 1:22:57Speaker 4: be great to reconnect with him. And the only way
- 1:23:00Speaker 4: that could happen is if Ryan does the podcast.
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: And we'll plug his gin. Not that he needs our
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: help because he sold it for a billion dollars, but
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: we'll still plug it.
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: We'll talk about it. We'll talk about it on the show.
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: Don't say it yet. Don't say it yet. We're not
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: plugging it until we get on it.
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: Right, yeah. He's got to agree.
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: All right, guys. Thank you so much for listening as always.
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: Don't forget to subscribe. Follow Daniel and Joelle on the socials.
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: Please follow Donald. He really, really needs the self-esteem boost.
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: Listen, there's been a low. There's been a.
- 1:23:35Speaker 4: It's going a little bit too slow right now. I
- 1:23:37Speaker 4: need everybody to pick up the pace. Let's pick up
- 1:23:39Speaker 4: the pace. And follow me.
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: Tell your friends.
- 1:23:42Speaker 4: You know who needs help on Instagram? Donald Faison. His
- 1:23:46Speaker 4: numbers aren't where they should be.
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: From sunny California.
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: I was in Clueless, damn it!
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: Oh, my God. On that note, from sunny California and
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: from rainy-ass London, count us in, Donald.
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: Five, six, seven, eight.
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: About a bunch of docs and nurses in a Canada

- 1:24:09Speaker 4: I said he's got stories that we all should know.
- 1:24:15Speaker 5: So gather round to hear our, gather round to hear
- 1:24:19Speaker 5: our Scrubs Rewatch Show with
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: Zach and Donald.
