- 1:16Speaker 3: so expect a Husker.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Loss, expecting the l Are you doing any incite scene
- 1:23Speaker 4: away there.
- 1:24Speaker 3: We will be.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Just your first time to the DC area.
- 1:29Speaker 3: No, when when I was a kid, okay, young, young kid.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Not the eighth grade d C trip that a lot
- 1:34Speaker 3: of people go on. It was the my aunt and
- 1:38Speaker 3: uncle's wedding, who both still live out there. Yeah, when
- 1:42Speaker 3: I was probably I don't even know, eight, maybe ten.
- 1:46Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:48Speaker 4: Enough to appreciate.
- 1:50Speaker 5: Uh huh.
- 1:52Speaker 6: Well, so far as College Park from.
- 1:53Speaker 3: DC, it's all right there. I think it's fall within
- 1:57Speaker 3: an hour forty five minutes. I mean I would. College
- 2:00Speaker 3: Park's a suburb, as we would call it, of of DC,
- 2:04Speaker 3: you know, East coast. People probably would say, no, it's
- 2:07Speaker 3: a separate town. It's its own. Yeah, well it's a suburb.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Does Nebraska people out here.
- 2:15Speaker 6: Everywhere in DC?
- 2:19Speaker 3: I'm not expecting that by any means, not expecting a bunch.
- 2:24Speaker 3: We got a little bit of a special addition here.
- 2:28Speaker 3: At the end of the podcast, we're gonna clip in
- 2:32Speaker 3: Dak and his brother Connor as they're heading down to
- 2:37Speaker 3: the Red River shootout in Texas at the Texas State Fair.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Dak a former Oklahoma fan and Connor a claimed Texas fan.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Although if you don't know the free tags. Their their
- 2:57Speaker 3: brains work very weekly and very similarly. So the podcast
- 3:03Speaker 3: goes in a bunch of different places, so be prepared
- 3:06Speaker 3: for that. There's a lot of Nebraska talk in there
- 3:09Speaker 3: as well, so you can give that a listen here
- 3:12Speaker 3: at the end, Daky, you're ready for your big trip.
- 3:16Speaker 6: I'm ready. I've been begging and pleading to go to
- 3:19Speaker 6: this game. My brother doesn't want to go anymore now,
- 3:21Speaker 6: which which I know why he doesn't go. He says, oh,
- 3:24Speaker 6: it's too expensive. I know why he doesn't want to
- 3:25Speaker 6: go because.
- 3:26Speaker 4: Texas, Texas, Texas get killed.
- 3:28Speaker 6: But yeah, yeah, that that's why he doesn't want to go.
- 3:31Speaker 6: So now he doesn't want to go miraculously because they
- 3:34Speaker 6: because they lost to Florida. So all they've been begging
- 3:36Speaker 6: and pleating. Honestly, if it comes down to it, I'll
- 3:38Speaker 6: go solo, like I don't. I don't believe going to
- 3:42Speaker 6: the game, Willie, Yeah, I actually will yep.
- 3:46Speaker 3: How much your tickets stay now?
- 3:48Speaker 4: Yeah, it's importunately in his ticket.
- 3:50Speaker 6: No, we haven't bottom yet. We've been waiting the two
- 3:52Speaker 6: seventy five buckscause two hundred dollars is mass. I'll pay.
- 3:58Speaker 6: I'll pay this you know what, Connor, you'rena listening tomorrow,
- 3:59Speaker 6: I'll pay seventy seventy five bucks for you. I'll tell
- 4:01Speaker 6: you tonight that too.
- 4:04Speaker 4: Wow, what was gonna get down there? And the price
- 4:06Speaker 4: is tone drop?
- 4:08Speaker 6: I see. I think right now is the time to
- 4:11Speaker 6: buy it because the news keeps coming out more and
- 4:14Speaker 6: more than a tear is gonna play. So I think
- 4:16Speaker 6: the tickets are gonna go up from here. But we'll see.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Here's what's wild, Dak. It is his bachelor party, he's
- 4:25Speaker 3: getting married. Normally, the best man, the brother of the
- 4:29Speaker 3: groom usually you know, pays for things for their brother,
- 4:34Speaker 3: for the room on a bachelor party.
- 4:37Speaker 6: You know what, maybe I'll just buy the full ticket.
- 4:41Speaker 6: Well that's what.
- 4:44Speaker 5: You know.
- 4:44Speaker 6: That's and that's going to happen. I'm gonna a few
- 4:45Speaker 6: drinks and me find I'm just getting that buying his ticket.
- 4:47Speaker 6: That's what's gonna happen. We all know the story here.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I have no insight on that game. I think
- 5:00Speaker 3: EXAs favor by one right now.
- 5:01Speaker 6: No, now it's Oklahoma one and a half, so it's
- 5:05Speaker 6: leaning towards my tears gonna play.
- 5:08Speaker 4: But is that a good thing? Yes, he's coming off
- 5:13Speaker 4: with broken hand from two weeks ago, and.
- 5:16Speaker 6: You know, Texas gonna be dirty as ship like it's
- 5:18Speaker 6: gonna be. They're gonna play so dirty. And the scary
- 5:22Speaker 6: part is about this. The scary part about this game
- 5:24Speaker 6: is it's a rivalry game. It does not matter how
- 5:27Speaker 6: good these teams are. And I'm not saying Texas awful.
- 5:29Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 5:30Speaker 6: My brother thinks they are, but they think Nebraska. You
- 5:35Speaker 6: think they would, yes, I do not.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Okay, Anyways, are you done? Are you done blobbering about
- 5:45Speaker 3: texta Oklahoma?
- 5:46Speaker 5: Yep?
- 5:46Speaker 6: I'm done. Okay, That's that's enough talk.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Appreciate it, Rasca, Maryland.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Turps.
- 5:56Speaker 3: I I think this is game is getting a little
- 6:00Speaker 3: bit overlooked just from a general conversation standpoint. It's a
- 6:04Speaker 3: big game. I think Nebraska wins against Michigan State in
- 6:11Speaker 3: the way that they did, and things feel okay again.
- 6:16Speaker 3: This is our first road game for this team, and
- 6:20Speaker 3: that usually true road game. Cincinnati was closest, the farthest
- 6:26Speaker 3: thing from a road game. I also don't know what
- 6:31Speaker 3: kind of atmosphere we're going to get at Maryland. It
- 6:34Speaker 3: is going to be a road game. I don't have
- 6:38Speaker 3: a good feel for anything about Maryland, their stadium, their
- 6:42Speaker 3: their location, even how the.
- 6:44Speaker 4: Nebraska played at Maryland. Didn't look this up.
- 6:47Speaker 3: I don't know. It can't be that many and if
- 6:51Speaker 3: any yet.
- 6:53Speaker 6: I feel like once in the Big Ten since they've joined.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Them, maybe once. I think I do remember as playing
- 7:00Speaker 3: or a few years ago and maybe winning.
- 7:03Speaker 4: But we've played there a few years ago where we
- 7:05Speaker 4: won with Mickey Joseph right was that there when we
- 7:09Speaker 4: were could have been that game thirteen to eleven or
- 7:12Speaker 4: something we went on a field goal.
- 7:15Speaker 3: So I'm not sure what the crowd or the atmosphere
- 7:18Speaker 3: is going to be like. It will be hard to
- 7:20Speaker 3: tell from a just a pure color standpoint on the
- 7:23Speaker 3: television and at the game because Maryland is also red.
- 7:28Speaker 3: But I anticipate there being a lot of Husker fans
- 7:30Speaker 3: here as an ormal on a road game. So it
- 7:35Speaker 3: is a road game. I wouldn't say it's the scariest
- 7:37Speaker 3: road game, But at the same time, I just don't
- 7:39Speaker 3: know a lot about Maryland and football. I guess in
- 7:42Speaker 3: general what it's like in the DC area, So I
- 7:46Speaker 3: don't know what to think there as far as a
- 7:48Speaker 3: challenge that it's going to face or pose for us
- 7:51Speaker 3: on the road.
- 7:56Speaker 4: I feel like there's gonna be a goodoun Nebraska fans
- 7:59Speaker 4: because I just don't think there's a lot of opportunities
- 8:01Speaker 4: because there's a fair amount of Nebraska fans on the
- 8:03Speaker 4: East Coast just from the nineties, and then natives who
- 8:07Speaker 4: have moved out there, and there's just not a lot
- 8:09Speaker 4: of opportunities to witness Nebraska anything when you're It's kind
- 8:13Speaker 4: of like the Rutgers game for volleyball. It was definitely
- 8:15Speaker 4: a home game. It was a record Wreckers crowd, and
- 8:17Speaker 4: that's because it was Nebraska fans that we're just excited
- 8:20Speaker 4: to go watch Nebraska is something. The fact that you're
- 8:28Speaker 4: going to this game makes me more worried about the game.
- 8:33Speaker 4: I was already I'm on my street. We got the
- 8:35Speaker 4: Cincinnati win. Uh what, Yeah, it was a road game.
- 8:44Speaker 4: I don't know. I yeah, I don't know anything about Maryland,
- 8:47Speaker 4: to be honest, I know I've done the research on
- 8:49Speaker 4: this team, and I've watched a few I should say,
- 8:52Speaker 4: maybe a couple quarters of Big Ten play this year
- 8:55Speaker 4: just from happenstance. But Maryland is not a team I
- 9:01Speaker 4: care about in any manner, and am I excited to
- 9:04Speaker 4: play Maryland. No, but it'll be a good game.
- 9:09Speaker 6: So the first question I got is, you're kind of
- 9:12Speaker 6: you're kind of Cincinnati's road game hunter, Cincinnati game.
- 9:16Speaker 3: I count anything away from Mortals Stadium to my record.
- 9:19Speaker 6: Yes, okay, So if Nebraska wins at Maryland, is the
- 9:22Speaker 6: curse over?
- 9:24Speaker 3: Could argue the curse is already over? Oh, because the
- 9:28Speaker 3: Cincinnati game could be that all all of the neutral
- 9:33Speaker 3: site Big twelve Championship type of games I've counted towards
- 9:37Speaker 3: my two and now three and sixteen record. So we're climbing.
- 9:44Speaker 3: We're climbing back.
- 9:45Speaker 6: Hey, heyb be at twenty five percent they win this.
- 9:48Speaker 6: The I feel like you can say this every single
- 9:50Speaker 6: year about Maryland. After five games they will be four
- 9:53Speaker 6: and one. Now is that because they always have an
- 9:57Speaker 6: easy non conference? Yes, but I don't get it with Maryland.
- 10:01Speaker 6: They always dropped this hot and just fall off the
- 10:03Speaker 6: map like they struggle make a ball game after form one,
- 10:05Speaker 6: and I don't know what it is. I listened to
- 10:08Speaker 6: Daily turps Pot or whatever on the way here, which
- 10:11Speaker 6: that guy, that guy, if you wanna fall asleep, listen
- 10:13Speaker 6: to him, because because he was. It was about when
- 10:19Speaker 6: they lost after Washington and he was just all over
- 10:22Speaker 6: the team like kind of this coach sucks up from
- 10:24Speaker 6: mary by sound like he was kind of ready to
- 10:29Speaker 6: get rid of the coach too. So I don't know.
- 10:31Speaker 4: And is the fourth longest tenured Big Ten coach something
- 10:35Speaker 4: like that, typer fourth. Yeah, I mean a one time.
- 10:39Speaker 6: If you're a Maryland fan, you gotta be happy with
- 10:41Speaker 6: where they're at right now like this, Yeah, even four
- 10:45Speaker 6: one from in the year's past coming into like at
- 10:48Speaker 6: five games. I feel like this is a different team though,
- 10:50Speaker 6: Like I don't know, I feel like Maryland's actually pretty
- 10:54Speaker 6: damn good.
- 10:56Speaker 3: So that's what's weird about the whole thing is I
- 11:01Speaker 3: still feel like it's the same Maryland team that they
- 11:04Speaker 3: have been in the past several years. And I know,
- 11:07Speaker 3: Dak you said that had this week about Maryland and
- 11:10Speaker 3: some people have the take that Maryland's a good team
- 11:12Speaker 3: and other people are just like, no, it's still it's
- 11:15Speaker 3: just Maryland. I I just I they haven't played anybody
- 11:21Speaker 3: this year at all.
- 11:22Speaker 4: The Cony was Washington and they lost, but.
- 11:25Speaker 3: They were up twenty nine things, so people are like,
- 11:28Speaker 3: maybe they're better. They still have a true freshman at quarterback,
- 11:32Speaker 3: which we'll get to here in a little bit. They
- 11:35Speaker 3: beat in the past some of these better teams, but
- 11:39Speaker 3: this this year's non conference, they haven't played anybody, So
- 11:42Speaker 3: I don't I don't know what to think yet, truly,
- 11:45Speaker 3: because it's hard to look at opponents, and you know what,
- 11:47Speaker 3: Maryland's probably looking at us a little bit and saying
- 11:49Speaker 3: a little bit of the same thing. Yes, we've played
- 11:53Speaker 3: Michigan and Cincinnati. Who's looking better now, it's just still
- 11:58Speaker 3: so early to tell. And in a twelve game season
- 12:03Speaker 3: where a team like Maryland actually sits. So I think
- 12:07Speaker 3: the line is about what I thought it would be.
- 12:08Speaker 3: It's at six and a half now, it's you know,
- 12:10Speaker 3: fluttered a point or two up and down. I think
- 12:14Speaker 3: that's about what I thought it would be, And coming
- 12:15Speaker 3: into the year, that's probably about what I thought it
- 12:19Speaker 3: would be too. Maryland is is Maryland that you mentioned
- 12:24Speaker 3: Mike Cloxley, He there's the top before the year that
- 12:29Speaker 3: he could be fired coming into this game, like or
- 12:32Speaker 3: close to it, on the hot seat, just because of
- 12:35Speaker 3: the way Maryland's gone the past few years. It is
- 12:37Speaker 3: the same old Maryland. Some people do also like him
- 12:40Speaker 3: as a coach a lot too, so again, they don't
- 12:42Speaker 3: feel like a Big ten team. That's maybe why we're
- 12:44Speaker 3: a little bit all over the board on him because
- 12:45Speaker 3: they just they no one knows a whole lot about him.
- 12:50Speaker 3: But it feels like a team that we should be
- 12:53Speaker 3: better than, and which is why we're favored by a
- 12:55Speaker 3: touchdown on the road, even though it's our first road game.
- 12:59Speaker 3: It just feels like a game that we should win. Now,
- 13:02Speaker 3: we obviously know that because we should win a game
- 13:04Speaker 3: doesn't mean we win the game.
- 13:08Speaker 4: The line has moved, according to ESPN, to five and
- 13:11Speaker 4: a half.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Okay, so we're fluttered. We're we're fluttering points there. I
- 13:16Speaker 3: anticipate will be favored by something around that.
- 13:20Speaker 4: And as far as I can tell, I think we've
- 13:23Speaker 4: only played Maryland three times, and they've all been in
- 13:26Speaker 4: the last ten years, and we won two of the three.
- 13:29Speaker 4: One of them we won by forty seven, one we lost,
- 13:32Speaker 4: and the one that we lost we lost by three.
- 13:37Speaker 4: And that was the air that Mickey Joseph lost that
- 13:39Speaker 4: game three right, So it's right, it's a school. It's
- 13:47Speaker 4: also weird because you don't mean a ton of Maryland
- 13:48Speaker 4: fans out there. I work with one Maryland fan. It's
- 13:50Speaker 4: the only Maryland fans I know.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I can't say no one. I can't.
- 13:54Speaker 6: I can't name another one.
- 13:57Speaker 3: No, what are you looking for in this game? What
- 14:00Speaker 3: are you what's some key matchups, key things you're gonna
- 14:04Speaker 3: be watching for Saturday. Well, you won't be watching specifically
- 14:07Speaker 3: because you'll be having fun on your own.
- 14:09Speaker 6: But I'll be watching it Sunday. I'll read, so Sunday
- 14:11Speaker 6: when I watch this what i'mna be looking for? They'll
- 14:14Speaker 6: So there's there's one really great part for Nebraska, and
- 14:18Speaker 6: there is a just horrendous part for Nebraska. Maryland loves
- 14:22Speaker 6: to pass the ball. That is why they give that
- 14:24Speaker 6: twenty nothing leaves because they will they refuse to run
- 14:27Speaker 6: the ball. That top out of the running game is
- 14:28Speaker 6: like they will not even try to run the ball.
- 14:31Speaker 6: Their quarterback can move a little bit, which is a
- 14:34Speaker 6: little scary. I guess he doesn't. They don't really do
- 14:38Speaker 6: design runs on least on the goal lines what I heard.
- 14:41Speaker 6: But you can move around in the pocket a little
- 14:42Speaker 6: bit and scramble. Now, the worst part for Nebraska is
- 14:47Speaker 6: they have nineteen saxlone the season. That is that is
- 14:51Speaker 6: scary because the tackle position is horrendous for Nebraska, so
- 14:56Speaker 6: I don't and I don't know which one is better
- 14:59Speaker 6: or wor for Nebraska. Is the secondary that much better
- 15:02Speaker 6: than the tackles are worse.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Let's let's start with Maryland's offense here, and specifically they're passing,
- 15:10Speaker 3: and so the league Washington's they're true freshman quarterback and
- 15:15Speaker 3: you nailed it. He's not mobile, but he's elusive. Maybe
- 15:20Speaker 3: is the right way of putting it in the pocket.
- 15:23Speaker 3: It sounds like he's a real deal. Again, I haven't
- 15:26Speaker 3: watched him. Watched just a couple of highlights, like you said, Austin,
- 15:28Speaker 3: but I don't know a whole lot. They have some
- 15:30Speaker 3: talented receivers on the outside, Jalil Farruk and Shlik Knots,
- 15:37Speaker 3: Dorian Flemings, their tight end, some of his favorite targets there.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Like it's a passing offense. I think that's good for
- 15:45Speaker 3: Nebraska because our secondary is strong. I want someone to
- 15:48Speaker 3: really stress our secondary and see what they're made of, right,
- 15:55Speaker 3: and if our secondary continues to hold up, it's a
- 15:58Speaker 3: lot of good things. But we really haven't been tested
- 16:00Speaker 3: a whole lot, And maybe that's because people just assume
- 16:02Speaker 3: that we're very strong upfront. Or they assume the other
- 16:06Speaker 3: and think that we're weak upfront and strong in the background,
- 16:09Speaker 3: so they attack us running the ball. Maryland so far
- 16:14Speaker 3: has not shown they want to do that. I anticipate
- 16:17Speaker 3: them trying to do that more considering that's the weak
- 16:20Speaker 3: point of our defense. But I think our front seven
- 16:25Speaker 3: showed significant signs of progress against Michigan State. I think
- 16:29Speaker 3: I heard we had twenty hurries or pressures on the
- 16:32Speaker 3: quarterback on Aiden Giles last week, and that was a
- 16:36Speaker 3: season high for this group. So I'm curious how Maryland
- 16:41Speaker 3: will try to attack us. I anticipated very much of
- 16:43Speaker 3: an air raid, but I want to see if our secondary,
- 16:47Speaker 3: you know, I want to see us get challenged a
- 16:49Speaker 3: little bit and it happens the result in a couple
- 16:51Speaker 3: of big plays for Maryland. I think that's good learning
- 16:54Speaker 3: lessons as long as we still win, because I do
- 16:56Speaker 3: think we're going to still see some better teams well
- 16:58Speaker 3: maybe down the rest of our schedule. So yeah, I agree,
- 17:02Speaker 3: that's a big thing to watch. Big thing to key
- 17:05Speaker 3: in on is how Maryland's passing game will do against
- 17:08Speaker 3: our strong secondary, which by a lot of the stats
- 17:11Speaker 3: which we know to put those in asterisks a little bit.
- 17:15Speaker 3: But the number one pass defense in the country right now.
- 17:17Speaker 6: Yeah, but but by now, couldn't you I mean we're
- 17:21Speaker 6: five games in, Like you got to start believing the
- 17:23Speaker 6: stats by now.
- 17:24Speaker 3: No, not want to do Amergan's high school teams.
- 17:29Speaker 5: I don't know some more teams.
- 17:32Speaker 4: I think it's fair to say that we're good. I
- 17:34Speaker 4: do I Well, I go out, they were the best
- 17:36Speaker 4: pass defense in the country.
- 17:37Speaker 3: I'm not gonna go that.
- 17:38Speaker 6: Well, no, I'm I'm not saying best, but like top ten,
- 17:40Speaker 6: I would say probably top ten.
- 17:41Speaker 3: It's proven that it's it's a strength of our team,
- 17:44Speaker 3: if not the strength like it has and the stats
- 17:46Speaker 3: are backing that up, even though it might some games
- 17:50Speaker 3: might not be against the best opponents.
- 17:51Speaker 4: But yeah, so they're only Maryland. So if we stick
- 17:56Speaker 4: to the offensive stuff of what we're looking at our
- 17:58Speaker 4: defense against their offense, they're putting up thirty points a game.
- 18:01Speaker 4: But like you said, they haven't played anyone. But they're
- 18:03Speaker 4: only averaging one rushing touchdown a game, so that means
- 18:06Speaker 4: they're averaging, you know, between three and four passing touchdowns.
- 18:10Speaker 4: So you're not is it a product if that's what
- 18:14Speaker 4: they do better, or is it you know, that's who
- 18:17Speaker 4: they've played.
- 18:18Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 18:21Speaker 4: I'm not super worried about their offense. I'm worried worried
- 18:25Speaker 4: about their defense, which statistically I think seems more signicant.
- 18:29Speaker 4: But again, they haven't played anyone. I don't Their strength
- 18:33Speaker 4: of schedule is one hundred and twelve out of one
- 18:36Speaker 4: hundred and thirty six, so.
- 18:38Speaker 6: They really haven't played anybody.
- 18:40Speaker 4: Yeah, they have not played anyone. So I would like
- 18:47Speaker 4: to see our passing defense get stressed, but I really don't,
- 18:50Speaker 4: because that means that there's something else's Maybe I do,
- 18:55Speaker 4: maybe that we forced them up front to pass the ball,
- 18:57Speaker 4: and now our defense has to work. I'd rather have
- 19:00Speaker 4: it stay all up front and keep their passing game. Yeah,
- 19:04Speaker 4: it is gonna be interesting the counter and then the
- 19:07Speaker 4: counter to the counter.
- 19:08Speaker 3: Who's gonna who's gonna adjust? Right? Like, are we gonna
- 19:11Speaker 3: put extra guys in the secondary, even though we haven't
- 19:13Speaker 3: really shown that we need to, which.
- 19:17Speaker 4: Mitain Hart will be back in this game?
- 19:19Speaker 3: He was not.
- 19:19Speaker 4: He didn't play last game correct.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Correct, So that might open up more things up front
- 19:24Speaker 3: for Maryland, which is our weak spot, which we've always said.
- 19:27Speaker 3: We've been saying, like keep adding people to the box
- 19:30Speaker 3: because our secondary is fine. It'll just be interested to
- 19:32Speaker 3: see what counters or what Going into the game, both
- 19:37Speaker 3: teams think of the other team's unit on that side
- 19:41Speaker 3: of the ball. On the our offensive side of the ball,
- 19:47Speaker 3: they got some athletes on the line. Again, they I
- 19:54Speaker 3: don't think they're Michigan though I've heard they're talented and
- 19:58Speaker 3: they you're right off, and their defense is probably their
- 20:01Speaker 3: strong suit. Being looking at the stats and numbers, it
- 20:04Speaker 3: looks like they're probably better defensively than most people think
- 20:08Speaker 3: they probably are. But at the same time, I don't
- 20:12Speaker 3: think they're the athlete for athlete that we saw against Michigan.
- 20:16Speaker 3: I would say they're probably comparable to Michigan State, probably
- 20:19Speaker 3: comparable to Cincinnati. I don't think they have a Godfather
- 20:23Speaker 3: at de tackle, but they're going to be able to
- 20:27Speaker 3: get pressure assuming our offensive line is what it has
- 20:32Speaker 3: been this year so far. And I do think, yes,
- 20:36Speaker 3: there's probably some things schematically and personnel wise that you
- 20:42Speaker 3: can change, but it sounds like we're kind of sticking
- 20:44Speaker 3: now to the tackles where they landed this last week
- 20:47Speaker 3: and was everything fixed. No, I just don't know how
- 20:51Speaker 3: great we are up front. And by seeing that, the
- 20:57Speaker 3: question is how it's Dana in this offense and Dylan
- 21:01Speaker 3: and how are we going to scheme around that? Continue
- 21:05Speaker 3: to scheme around that now that we've kind of the
- 21:07Speaker 3: writings on the wall a little bit, not saying we
- 21:09Speaker 3: can't get better, but that's going to be a big
- 21:11Speaker 3: thing to watch, is that can our offensive line see
- 21:15Speaker 3: a little bit of progress against a team that's got
- 21:18Speaker 3: some athletes there on the defensive line.
- 21:21Speaker 4: I mean, it looks like their linebackers are kind of
- 21:23Speaker 4: their strength, so it's not it is upfront. But again,
- 21:27Speaker 4: they have nineteen sacks.
- 21:30Speaker 3: But just to I believe they lead the big ten.
- 21:33Speaker 3: I think I heard that it's actually.
- 21:34Speaker 4: Ten in sacks. And then they're points per game. I
- 21:37Speaker 4: believe they're like fourth or something because they only give
- 21:39Speaker 4: up ten points a game. Something like that. I finally
- 21:42Speaker 4: played Florida Atlantic, Northern Illinois, Towson, Towson, I don't know
- 21:48Speaker 4: how to pronounce it, in Wisconsin, and then Washington. So yeah,
- 21:54Speaker 4: if we played those first four opponents there, we might
- 21:57Speaker 4: have I mean, I don't even know how I said
- 22:00Speaker 4: we have. I guess.
- 22:02Speaker 3: We have the.
- 22:06Speaker 4: Ten. We played two two cupcakes.
- 22:14Speaker 6: I I thought which looks up Austin. I think I
- 22:17Speaker 6: read the Nebraskian Maryland given with the thing exact nine
- 22:20Speaker 6: point sixteen point two a game on the defense. That's
- 22:24Speaker 6: what I thought.
- 22:25Speaker 4: But they're definitely not giving up sixteen point two for defense.
- 22:30Speaker 4: Well maybe they are with Washington in there.
- 22:33Speaker 6: Well last week's like you said, I just don't know.
- 22:37Speaker 6: It's so hard to read Maryland. I don't know how
- 22:38Speaker 6: much faith you can put in those nineteen sacks, Like
- 22:42Speaker 6: when you're playing nobody, how how can you say that
- 22:48Speaker 6: their defense is this good. Now, I'm gonna go a
- 22:50Speaker 6: lot and lamb and agree with you that they're not
- 22:52Speaker 6: better Michigan. But maybe they are, who knows.
- 22:55Speaker 5: That's why.
- 22:55Speaker 3: I just I'm not a big especially early on, like
- 23:00Speaker 3: I'll look at it late in the year. I'm just
- 23:02Speaker 3: not a big like comparing numbers and rankings and it
- 23:05Speaker 3: doesn't tell me a whole lot. I mean, Dak, I
- 23:10Speaker 3: don't know. I just think this Maryland team and maybe
- 23:13Speaker 3: I'm not. I'm not trying to say Nebraska is really good.
- 23:17Speaker 3: I just don't know that Maryland is that much better
- 23:21Speaker 3: than any other Maryland team. And I mean I think
- 23:25Speaker 3: that I usually they're very comparable to Michigan State. Now
- 23:28Speaker 3: do I think that that means we're gonna win? No,
- 23:31Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't think we've proven to be
- 23:33Speaker 3: above that tier yet we're getting there. A win against
- 23:36Speaker 3: Michigan State helps, And the way that game went doesn't
- 23:41Speaker 3: really help because at times we look like the worst
- 23:43Speaker 3: team in the Big Ten. But bottom line was we won.
- 23:46Speaker 3: So this is another one of those that I really
- 23:49Speaker 3: don't care how it looks. I don't. We just need
- 23:52Speaker 3: to start chalking up wins against a team that I
- 23:55Speaker 3: think we're better than. If things are moving the way
- 23:59Speaker 3: we want to with rule, we should win a game
- 24:01Speaker 3: like this.
- 24:02Speaker 5: We should.
- 24:04Speaker 3: If we don't, I'm sure we will find everything that
- 24:08Speaker 3: was a problem with it. But I don't think the
- 24:10Speaker 3: things that are going to be problems are going to
- 24:11Speaker 3: be things that we don't know our problems already. That
- 24:15Speaker 3: makes sense. I don't think Dylan is going to go
- 24:18Speaker 3: out and throw four innerception or three or four interceptions
- 24:20Speaker 3: and lose the game. I don't think that's going to happen.
- 24:23Speaker 4: So I think the yep, I think we're probably going
- 24:27Speaker 4: to have three sacks, you know, given give up three
- 24:30Speaker 4: sacks three to four sacks, you know, because that's just
- 24:34Speaker 4: what we do.
- 24:35Speaker 3: But don't expect our special teams to go out this
- 24:38Speaker 3: year and have three or four mistakes that cost us
- 24:43Speaker 3: the game. That's not what I think is going to
- 24:45Speaker 3: lose this game. If it does, we're going to be
- 24:47Speaker 3: talking a whole other language come come Monday morning. So
- 24:53Speaker 3: I think it's going to be the stuff that we've mentioned,
- 24:55Speaker 3: the concern, the area, concern the offensive line, that the
- 24:59Speaker 3: is stopping their run on a team that hasn't been
- 25:01Speaker 3: able to run the ball. Look, guess what Maryland had
- 25:03Speaker 3: their best rushing game because our front seven isn't. I
- 25:06Speaker 3: think that's how they're going to beat us. If they're
- 25:08Speaker 3: going to beat us, I don't anticipate them to throw
- 25:11Speaker 3: for four hundred yards on us. Now, if the game
- 25:14Speaker 3: script goes where we're ahead the whole game, maybe that
- 25:16Speaker 3: will get close to that number. But like I just
- 25:19Speaker 3: I just think that we're not going to be surprised
- 25:20Speaker 3: if we lose this game because I think everybody kind
- 25:23Speaker 3: of sees where our flaws are. The question is is
- 25:25Speaker 3: Maryland good enough to capitalize on that and beat us.
- 25:31Speaker 3: That's a lot of faith I just put.
- 25:33Speaker 4: Yeah, that was Dylain. I mean, that was a pretty
- 25:37Speaker 4: pro Husker win. Take there, Hunter, that was a that
- 25:41Speaker 4: was a it's our game to lose mentality right there.
- 25:44Speaker 3: I think I'll tell you what Maryland, Mike Eckler has
- 25:49Speaker 3: been a guy that I just I've I've rode with
- 25:52Speaker 3: it so far that it has proven to be a
- 25:55Speaker 3: good call. And so I'm a little bit juiced up
- 26:00Speaker 3: about that. And i think special teams again, it is
- 26:01Speaker 3: gonna it can be difference in the game, as we've
- 26:04Speaker 3: seen in a lot of Big Ten games, for the
- 26:07Speaker 3: good and the bad.
- 26:07Speaker 5: Now, Like.
- 26:10Speaker 4: I mean, I made a living off the special teams.
- 26:13Speaker 3: And they still do right. Like as we've just seen,
- 26:17Speaker 3: we've seen more bad, right, but we finally saw a
- 26:20Speaker 3: good which I don't know if you guys saw the
- 26:24Speaker 3: was it PFF or some metric on on Twitter that
- 26:28Speaker 3: had Michigan State special teams like thirty five points higher
- 26:32Speaker 3: than ours And someone just said, someone explained that to
- 26:36Speaker 3: me just looking at the.
- 26:40Speaker 6: Game again, crack of shit, all those numbers, I don't believe.
- 26:44Speaker 6: The thing is that I don't believe those those greats
- 26:46Speaker 6: cannot be real. I don't know who does those all.
- 26:49Speaker 6: I'm saying for this game is Husker fans, if they
- 26:52Speaker 6: get down fourteen nothing, which fourteen plus points early, which
- 26:55Speaker 6: you're in, you're in your new pair of shorts in
- 26:57Speaker 6: the stands higher. If this happens, don't don't worry because
- 27:02Speaker 6: Maryland I think has completely just gave up on their
- 27:05Speaker 6: own game. Like they will, they will let you, let
- 27:08Speaker 6: Nebraska have playing opportunities come back if they getn't really
- 27:13Speaker 6: lead on them like it's I think they just refuse
- 27:16Speaker 6: to round the ball. Even that, if there's stats are
- 27:18Speaker 6: this bad against nobody, then that that tells you a
- 27:21Speaker 6: lot right there.
- 27:26Speaker 3: Yeah, that makes me feel better. Who does? I mean
- 27:28Speaker 3: just knowing how they apparently blew a twenty to nothing
- 27:31Speaker 3: lead against Washington. I mean that makes you feel like
- 27:35Speaker 3: if you're down and maybe you can still come back
- 27:37Speaker 3: and win. I guess my last thing that I'm anticipating,
- 27:43Speaker 3: even though I was just very positive, I think there
- 27:46Speaker 3: we're gonna hit some adversity just because we're on the
- 27:49Speaker 3: road a little bit. Even though like we said before,
- 27:51Speaker 3: it's not a scary scary away environment, but there is.
- 27:57Speaker 3: We're gonna be on the road.
- 27:58Speaker 4: And basically, sorry, did they play at Washington like did
- 28:02Speaker 4: they at home? They're at home?
- 28:05Speaker 3: Okay, Like, how will we how will we respond to that?
- 28:09Speaker 3: And so far we've had some guys step up and
- 28:13Speaker 3: make plays. Michigan State, and if you listen to the
- 28:16Speaker 3: coaches press conferences, like Dana Dana, I love Dana. I
- 28:21Speaker 3: love listening to him. He's great.
- 28:23Speaker 5: He just like I.
- 28:24Speaker 3: I haven't been here in the past ten years. So
- 28:26Speaker 3: I'm not even gonna comment and talk about that stuff.
- 28:28Speaker 3: But you could feel it on the sideline go but
- 28:30Speaker 3: here we go. And then we went out and made
- 28:32Speaker 3: a play. So it was one of those things though,
- 28:35Speaker 3: like we don't usually respond to those situations in the past,
- 28:40Speaker 3: and maybe this team is figuring out how to do that,
- 28:44Speaker 3: and I think we're gonna need to do that again.
- 28:46Speaker 3: It's gonna be harder to do that. Maybe maybe harder
- 28:49Speaker 3: to do that on the road in an opposing environment. Now,
- 28:53Speaker 3: some people might argue and say it's harder to do
- 28:55Speaker 3: it at home because there's more pressure with your fan
- 28:58Speaker 3: base going like State. If Penn State comes out against
- 29:02Speaker 3: Northwestern this week.
- 29:04Speaker 4: And Northwestern scores the first touchdown, oh my god, yeah,
- 29:09Speaker 4: they're gonna get.
- 29:10Speaker 6: James Franklin might be fired right there, Like, so maybe
- 29:13Speaker 6: there is.
- 29:14Speaker 3: A little bit of element on the road that's easier.
- 29:16Speaker 5: I don't know, but it is.
- 29:18Speaker 3: This is the first road game, and there's gonna be adversity.
- 29:21Speaker 3: I have a feeling. So how are we gonna respond
- 29:22Speaker 3: to Is.
- 29:23Speaker 6: This really our first road game unless you count Cincinnati?
- 29:28Speaker 3: Oh yeah, we we had the longest I heard this.
- 29:31Speaker 3: We had the longest stretch of days. There was like
- 29:33Speaker 3: forty three or forty six days in a row at home.
- 29:39Speaker 4: It would have been nice if we got that Michigan win. Man.
- 29:41Speaker 4: What a great way to start the year. M hm,
- 29:44Speaker 4: stay home and get it figured out.
- 29:47Speaker 6: Speaking, Oh, go for it, Deak speaking niversity. There's there's
- 29:50Speaker 6: one more point Island saying this game and it'll be
- 29:52Speaker 6: interest to see Maryland has their university. They just blew
- 29:56Speaker 6: twenty point lead. You like we said, Well they respond
- 29:59Speaker 6: all pissed off and ready to hit somebody or are
- 30:02Speaker 6: they just gonna fold?
- 30:03Speaker 5: Like?
- 30:03Speaker 3: What what are boring?
- 30:05Speaker 6: Maryland podcast buddies say, Uh, he sounds like he's just
- 30:09Speaker 6: ready to fold, Like he's done. He's gonnaletely down with
- 30:15Speaker 6: the team. So so that's their mentality. Then Oscar is
- 30:19Speaker 6: just gonna roll them, But I think I think they've
- 30:21Speaker 6: had a week of hell at practice, had to ba
- 30:23Speaker 6: in that lead, and they're gonna I think they're gonna
- 30:25Speaker 6: come out a little fired up strough aout the game.
- 30:28Speaker 4: Yeah, but that could be one of those things where
- 30:30Speaker 4: you come out fired up and then you get down.
- 30:33Speaker 4: You know, like if you come out fired up and
- 30:34Speaker 4: then you fall, you falter at the beginning, you kind
- 30:37Speaker 4: of lose your your step pretty quick, it's like, oh,
- 30:41Speaker 4: what was all that for?
- 30:44Speaker 3: Maybe I'm hoping this is a team that if we
- 30:47Speaker 3: can get them down early, that we can step on
- 30:50Speaker 3: them and keep them there and not have any life.
- 30:54Speaker 3: I don't feel like Maryland can do that to us
- 30:56Speaker 3: right now. I don't feel like if we get stomped on,
- 30:59Speaker 3: we're gonna go, oh, well, we lost this game. I
- 31:01Speaker 3: don't think we're there. I think Marylyn could get there,
- 31:04Speaker 3: like if we come out and play well. I think
- 31:07Speaker 3: they know that they're the underdog by a touchdown in
- 31:10Speaker 3: this game, probably like they were against Washington as well.
- 31:14Speaker 3: So I'm hoping and not saying that we're gonna blow
- 31:17Speaker 3: them out. I don't think that's going to happen, but
- 31:20Speaker 3: I'm hoping that if we play well, we can kind
- 31:23Speaker 3: of be in the back of their minds saying, no,
- 31:25Speaker 3: all right, this Nebraska team, the Nebraska's getting better. They
- 31:28Speaker 3: are probably a little better than us. It's gonna be
- 31:31Speaker 3: tough because their past defense is so good for us
- 31:33Speaker 3: to crawl back and we can just win that way.
- 31:36Speaker 3: I don't we don't need to win by twenty. Just
- 31:38Speaker 3: win the game. I don't care how that is, but
- 31:40Speaker 3: I'm hoping that's the case.
- 31:43Speaker 4: So positive look at it.
- 31:44Speaker 5: Well, I just I'm just.
- 31:47Speaker 3: I'm jacked up because I'm leaving at four thirty tomorrow
- 31:49Speaker 3: morning and it's it's going.
- 31:51Speaker 4: To the game. I see the little site, so you're
- 31:53Speaker 4: gonna watch a little Mike Eckler on the sideline.
- 31:56Speaker 3: And I just can't wait for Sunday to just tear
- 32:00Speaker 3: my heart apart again.
- 32:03Speaker 5: You and me both.
- 32:05Speaker 3: Score predictions.
- 32:09Speaker 4: I've been chewing on this because all of our games
- 32:12Speaker 4: have been pretty high and like I said, I just
- 32:16Speaker 4: don't know about the Terrapins. But I settled on thirty
- 32:23Speaker 4: four Nebraska thirty one Maryland taking Maryland to cover high
- 32:33Speaker 4: scoring game.
- 32:35Speaker 6: I yeah, I kind of feel like it's going to
- 32:36Speaker 6: be a closer game too. I I thirty one twenty
- 32:39Speaker 6: four Nebraska.
- 32:41Speaker 2: I do.
- 32:41Speaker 6: I think Maryland's actually pretty decent this year, and I
- 32:45Speaker 6: do think that the line is going to be a problem.
- 32:49Speaker 6: I guess this kind of prove a game from Maryland
- 32:51Speaker 6: to see how good they are. But that's I think.
- 32:53Speaker 6: I think it's gonna be a battle for four quarters
- 32:56Speaker 6: and Nebraska's at the end.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Twenty seven to fourteen Nebraska. Maryland gets down early, they
- 33:12Speaker 3: can't get back in it.
- 33:14Speaker 6: You gonna make the quarterback quit again back to back weeks.
- 33:18Speaker 3: That's the goal. And remember he is a true freshman,
- 33:21Speaker 3: even though people are saying he doesn't play like one,
- 33:23Speaker 3: he's still a true freshman.
- 33:26Speaker 5: Yeah, how'd that go?
- 33:27Speaker 4: First? Last time?
- 33:32Speaker 3: Well? Bryce under Rood?
- 33:33Speaker 5: Yeah yeah.
- 33:35Speaker 3: I was like, I'm trying to think who we're talking about.
- 33:37Speaker 6: Yeah, I was like, I didn't know you're talking about either.
- 33:39Speaker 4: Lost. He looked like a true freshman. We still lost.
- 33:44Speaker 4: Better team though Michigan's better than Maryland. I can confidently
- 33:47Speaker 4: say that. I just I don't know. I think Washington's
- 33:50Speaker 4: a good team, and they got up to twenty nothing
- 33:52Speaker 4: on Washington. They still lost. But I do think Washington's
- 33:54Speaker 4: a good team.
- 33:56Speaker 3: I don't, but I don't know where Washington's at either,
- 33:58Speaker 3: Like I feel like either. I feel like we're app
- 34:02Speaker 3: could be as good as.
- 34:03Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 34:04Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 34:05Speaker 6: Now now ne Nebraska lose days, we're all flying in Maryland.
- 34:07Speaker 6: We're gonna pour beer on Hunter.
- 34:10Speaker 4: No, we're not letting him fly back. I'm not playing Maryland.
- 34:14Speaker 6: Yes, suddenly there's no flights back from Maryland.
- 34:19Speaker 3: Yeah, well, we'll transition here to Dak and his brother
- 34:24Speaker 3: here to talk about everything all of the world's problems.
- 34:30Speaker 6: With with with a little with a little, a little

- 35:21Speaker 7: you Sooner'll be sooner dead. Rockklahoma, Rocklahoma, Rock Oklahoma.
- 35:25Speaker 5: Okay, you.
- 35:27Speaker 6: We got a very special guest today, my brother. We
- 35:32Speaker 6: are going down to Texas, Oklahoma for the Red River
- 35:34Speaker 6: Rivalry for his bachelor party. Welcome on, Thank you. All right,
- 35:43Speaker 6: So let's jump to it. Okay, female or male? What
- 35:49Speaker 6: are you marrying?
- 35:55Speaker 5: Email?
- 35:56Speaker 6: Okay? Good, all right. So Connor's awful known for being
- 36:01Speaker 6: probably the biggest arch manning fan on this planet. No,
- 36:06Speaker 6: all right, dive into it.
- 36:07Speaker 5: What if you if you want to start already with this,
- 36:10Speaker 5: this is not gonna go well, I told you from
- 36:13Speaker 5: the start of the season that he was not going
- 36:15Speaker 5: to be what everyone had him out to be.
- 36:19Speaker 6: And you're saying that now, you're saying that now?
- 36:23Speaker 5: No, yeah, I told you. I told you. Why do
- 36:27Speaker 5: you think he didn't ever play in the last two
- 36:29Speaker 5: years when quinn Ears was either not doing well in
- 36:32Speaker 5: the playoffs or even during the regular season when he
- 36:36Speaker 5: was hurt. You could just tell that quen Ears was
- 36:38Speaker 5: hurt and they would not put Arch in for any reason.
- 36:43Speaker 6: They didn't. They didn't play him because twen Ears was
- 36:46Speaker 6: a two year, three or four year starter even I
- 36:48Speaker 6: don't know how long he get he played there, that's
- 36:51Speaker 6: why he didn't play there. But then, but then he
- 36:54Speaker 6: comes in one game against who wasn't Sansai State something
- 36:57Speaker 6: like that, and he runs for like and you and
- 37:01Speaker 6: everybody else like, oh, he's the best quarterback ever.
- 37:03Speaker 5: No, no, I never said that. You're putting words into
- 37:06Speaker 5: my mouth. I told you coming into this year that
- 37:09Speaker 5: he would not be what you guys thought, well what
- 37:13Speaker 5: everyone else thought. Honestly, I didn't ever hear a Texas
- 37:16Speaker 5: fan say that Archer is going to be this amazing
- 37:19Speaker 5: player A lot a couples. Yeah, but I listened to
- 37:27Speaker 5: many podcasts actually for Texas this year. Now, Nebraska fans,
- 37:36Speaker 5: on their hand, no matter what happens in the offseason,
- 37:39Speaker 5: they are hold on.
- 37:41Speaker 6: Go back about five seconds? You cut out there? What
- 37:43Speaker 6: read onund about five seconds? What'd you say?
- 37:46Speaker 5: Oh no, my internet's unstable? Can you hear me? Yep,
- 37:48Speaker 5: we're good, all right, keep going, I said. Nown Nebraska
- 37:51Speaker 5: fans any offseason, they just think they're going to be
- 37:57Speaker 5: just amazing every year.
- 38:00Speaker 6: Well, aren't they aren't they better in Texas?
- 38:02Speaker 5: No, they're not better than Texas, not even close. They
- 38:05Speaker 5: don't have one singular real football game this year. That's
- 38:09Speaker 5: a hot take right now.
- 38:12Speaker 6: Not a real football game. No, So so all these,
- 38:14Speaker 6: all these games they played have been fake.
- 38:17Speaker 5: I mean, Michigan, I'm telling you now, is not a
- 38:21Speaker 5: team not should not be in the top twenty five.
- 38:24Speaker 6: I would tell you right now, Michigan while the doors
- 38:26Speaker 6: off of Texas.
- 38:27Speaker 5: And okay, since no, no, there's only one thing that
- 38:32Speaker 5: Texas is missing, and it's the quarterback. And if you
- 38:35Speaker 5: want me to dive in on Arch, I guess let's
- 38:38Speaker 5: just go for it.
- 38:40Speaker 6: Yeah, let it rip, let's hear it.
- 38:42Speaker 5: So the problem I'm having with Arch is that he's
- 38:47Speaker 5: doing okay when he has no pressure. Now he looks
- 38:53Speaker 5: a lot like whenever he gets pressure. If you get
- 38:56Speaker 5: any sort of pressure on him, he loses all body mechanics.
- 39:00Speaker 5: You can just tell, like his upper body, lower body
- 39:04Speaker 5: moving just goes out the window. And then he just
- 39:08Speaker 5: throws the ball, overthrows it, throws it in the dirt
- 39:10Speaker 5: every time. Are wide receivers. Every time he's thrown it
- 39:14Speaker 5: to the right person, but they're always open yeah, but
- 39:19Speaker 5: he missed them by like two miles. Yeah, I mean
- 39:24Speaker 5: that's what I'm saying. He it's the quarterbacks problem.
- 39:28Speaker 6: Yeah, that's what I've been saying, Like he sucks.
- 39:31Speaker 5: But our defense, oh, I mean honestly against Florida, like
- 39:35Speaker 5: credits to them, they came out and exploded our defense
- 39:38Speaker 5: right in the first half, and then we settled in
- 39:40Speaker 5: the second half. But I don't know, it might be
- 39:45Speaker 5: a rough go this season.
- 39:46Speaker 6: Not gonna lie so soesn't I your dog on Nebraska?
- 39:49Speaker 6: What was Florida's record going in that Texas game.
- 39:53Speaker 5: One and three? Yeah? But who do they play?
- 39:57Speaker 6: That doesn't matter.
- 39:59Speaker 5: Who did Nebraska play?
- 40:01Speaker 4: Cincinnati?
- 40:02Speaker 6: Cincinnati's good Michigan's good Michigan defense.
- 40:06Speaker 5: Like everyone says the first game doesn't matter. I've heard
- 40:08Speaker 5: from plenty of people say, oh, Ohio State wasn't ready
- 40:12Speaker 5: because it's the first game of the season. Well, Cincinnati
- 40:14Speaker 5: wasn't ready. If Cincinnati played Nebraska now, they would kick
- 40:17Speaker 5: their ass. Really, oh, one hundred percent. Nebraska has not improved.
- 40:22Speaker 5: They have gone downhill. There's no improvement.
- 40:27Speaker 6: You think you think that they are worse this year
- 40:29Speaker 6: than last year.
- 40:31Speaker 5: And this is my hot take that whatever his name,
- 40:34Speaker 5: Rayola's the offensive line coach has gotta go.
- 40:38Speaker 6: Okay, I mean that's not that's not not hot. Take
- 40:39Speaker 6: the offensive line's bad. But hey, we're still talking about
- 40:42Speaker 6: Texas here. Let's so your only problem is the quarterback?
- 40:48Speaker 5: Yes, our defense? Ohio, So did your.
- 40:51Speaker 6: Quarterback give up twenty nine points to Florida last week?
- 40:54Speaker 5: I told you in the first half, Florida came in
- 40:57Speaker 5: with the game plan to exploit our defense. In the
- 41:00Speaker 5: second half, I'm pretty sure Florida, if I remember right,
- 41:02Speaker 5: only scored one touchdown. That might be wrong, but I'm
- 41:07Speaker 5: pretty sure.
- 41:10Speaker 8: So do you think.
- 41:13Speaker 6: I just think he's Steve Turkeysian might be one of
- 41:16Speaker 6: the worst quarterback coach in the nation. Queens sucked, Art sucks.
- 41:21Speaker 6: You know, they haven't had a good quarterback since he's
- 41:23Speaker 6: been there.
- 41:24Speaker 5: I'm gonna stay humble here and I'm gonna say yeah,
- 41:26Speaker 5: I mean I'm considering Steve's gotta go.
- 41:31Speaker 6: You your complete county, He's gone.
- 41:35Speaker 5: We have Okay, Like I talked to somebody this week,
- 41:40Speaker 5: We're like, and I hate the Dallas Cowboys. I hate him,
- 41:44Speaker 5: but we are literally the Dallas Cowboys of college football.
- 41:48Speaker 6: Why did you clean your bachelor party for Dallas. Then no,
- 41:52Speaker 6: it's because it's Oklahoma Texas there, Uh huh, I keep going.
- 41:58Speaker 5: I mean, let's be on. Texas has plenty of money
- 42:05Speaker 5: and we can't seven and five. If we go seven
- 42:10Speaker 5: and five this year, Steve's gone. I don't care how
- 42:12Speaker 5: much any more. Years like we are giving the best
- 42:18Speaker 5: players every year, not given. I mean, we recruit them
- 42:22Speaker 5: with some money.
- 42:23Speaker 6: So if they have all that money, why don't they
- 42:26Speaker 6: do what Texas Tech didn't just buy their team.
- 42:30Speaker 5: I mean, our team's good. I'm telling you our team
- 42:33Speaker 5: good except for the quarterback. We bought our quarterback and
- 42:37Speaker 5: obviously it's not a good choice there right now?
- 42:41Speaker 6: All right, well, bench him Benjamin Bringing, who's the backup?
- 42:44Speaker 4: Is he good?
- 42:45Speaker 5: I mean you, you and Hunter both know that. I
- 42:49Speaker 5: texted you many times during games and I said we
- 42:51Speaker 5: need to bench him.
- 42:53Speaker 3: So you're ready.
- 42:54Speaker 5: You're just ready for cal Well or something is the backup.
- 42:58Speaker 6: I'm pretty sure last week you texted the game like,
- 43:00Speaker 6: I absolutely love arch Manning. He is bowling out right now,
- 43:03Speaker 6: like you guys need to start stop talking shit on him.
- 43:05Speaker 5: He's my guy. No, not even I didn't even answer.
- 43:10Speaker 5: I don't even answer to text him anyone during the
- 43:12Speaker 5: Texas games. Yeah, so just a shout out to Jared
- 43:16Speaker 5: Carson's He did text me and he asked how it
- 43:19Speaker 5: was going, and I said, rough.
- 43:22Speaker 6: You guys, you guys been snapping or what? No, just
- 43:25Speaker 6: randomly texted me, huh, that's kind of cute. All right,
- 43:29Speaker 6: let's uh so what and And I don't know. There's
- 43:35Speaker 6: no way you believe this, do you? One hundred percent?
- 43:37Speaker 6: You've said this many times. You dent believe that Jah
- 43:40Speaker 6: my teer is worse than arch Manning.
- 43:45Speaker 5: One hundred percent believe it. We'll see this week.
- 43:50Speaker 6: I think I think he's gonna play, don't you think.
- 43:54Speaker 5: I I think he wants to. Is it is throwing here?
- 44:00Speaker 5: I honestly don't. Yeah it is.
- 44:02Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 44:02Speaker 5: I try not to pay attention to Oklahoma because I
- 44:05Speaker 5: will give it to him. They're having a good year.
- 44:06Speaker 5: But like we've talked about, every year, one team could
- 44:10Speaker 5: be having the worst year possible and it's always going
- 44:12Speaker 5: to be a toss up, except for the one year
- 44:14Speaker 5: Texas beat them forty nine to zero.
- 44:16Speaker 6: I must have missed that season.
- 44:18Speaker 5: I don't know what happened.
- 44:20Speaker 6: Yeah, you have fun because last year what what was
- 44:23Speaker 6: last year? Forty you guys, you guys were like one
- 44:27Speaker 6: of our losses, one of our two losses. Oh last
- 44:31Speaker 6: year was really yeah, no, last year was thirty five
- 44:36Speaker 6: to three Texas won.
- 44:39Speaker 5: That was the last year.
- 44:40Speaker 3: Yes?
- 44:42Speaker 6: Oh what?
- 44:44Speaker 5: Oh? Yes, yes, because you guys hackets played Jackson are
- 44:48Speaker 5: only Michael Hawk? Yeah?
- 44:49Speaker 6: Yeah? So some And this this is what I've said
- 44:53Speaker 6: about Venables all the time at Oklahoma. He has the
- 44:56Speaker 6: defense figured out, which is what what Oklahoma need a
- 45:00Speaker 6: big time and they finally got the quarterback and out
- 45:04Speaker 6: Now look who they are. I think if Mitt tears
- 45:06Speaker 6: there easily top five team, they could be one of
- 45:11Speaker 6: the best. They could be the best team nation. I
- 45:13Speaker 6: don't know. Ohio State's fret freaking good. In Oregon's good,
- 45:16Speaker 6: I don't know about that, but they need a solid
- 45:21Speaker 6: quarterback and they finally.
- 45:22Speaker 5: Got it in Miami.
- 45:24Speaker 6: Miami's so so they finally got the quarterback Invenable.
- 45:30Speaker 5: Still you got me.
- 45:31Speaker 6: Oklahoma's defense is pre damn good this year too.
- 45:35Speaker 5: I Mean, honestly, I've not watched games because I just
- 45:40Speaker 5: hate that they're winning, but I've watched them on game
- 45:42Speaker 5: cast and just seeing that they're winning, well.
- 45:48Speaker 6: Yeah, but what a you gon say? They haven't play
- 45:49Speaker 6: anybody either. They haven't played a real football game yet.
- 45:55Speaker 5: Who have they played? I mean Michigan. We don't know
- 45:59Speaker 5: what Michigan's like.
- 46:01Speaker 6: So you're giving them the Michigan game, but you're not
- 46:03Speaker 6: giving Nebraska the Michigan game.
- 46:05Speaker 5: I'm not giving either of them Michigan, I said, I
- 46:07Speaker 5: don't know what Michigan's like. I don't think they're that good.
- 46:10Speaker 6: I Auburn. They played Auburn.
- 46:12Speaker 5: Okay, Auburn was a very close game. Texas just arnold
- 46:17Speaker 5: almost be guess.
- 46:19Speaker 6: Texas just lost. Yeah, but they also hurt drame Tier
- 46:22Speaker 6: there is there's some investigation needs to be done that
- 46:24Speaker 6: because they purposely had bounties on all right. Ye again,
- 46:33Speaker 6: Texas just lost to a won in three Florida team
- 46:36Speaker 6: that got their doors blown up by Miami the week before.
- 46:39Speaker 5: No blown off. What was the score of that, I
- 46:43Speaker 5: don't know, like twenty nine to six something like that. Okay,
- 46:46Speaker 5: Miami's a solid football team. This is I'm not saying
- 46:49Speaker 5: we are top ten right now. I don't think we
- 46:52Speaker 5: should have been in the top ten.
- 46:53Speaker 6: Do you still think they should be ranked?
- 46:58Speaker 5: Yes, I'd argue if we're having a bad first half,
- 47:07Speaker 5: like Arch can't complete the pass, he throws an interception
- 47:10Speaker 5: or two, he's done. Take him out for the for
- 47:14Speaker 5: this game, yes, or for the rest of the season.
- 47:18Speaker 5: If the backup does Okay, I mean, if he's just
- 47:21Speaker 5: completely terrible, then oh we're not winning another game.
- 47:26Speaker 6: I'd argue Texas just played their first real football game
- 47:29Speaker 6: and they had lost. That is that's the only team
- 47:31Speaker 6: they played that's been good. Okay, we played Ohio State,
- 47:35Speaker 6: number one team in the nation. Yeah, he said before,
- 47:38Speaker 6: this is the first game in the season. Doesn't count.
- 47:41Speaker 5: Well, that's according to every Nebraska fan, every other fan.
- 47:46Speaker 6: All right, So let's you know what, not for this game.
- 47:49Speaker 6: You've been holding this back. You've been talking all this
- 47:50Speaker 6: shit on Nebraska all year. Let's just let it rimp.
- 47:53Speaker 6: What's your problem with Nebraska football and their fans?
- 47:57Speaker 5: First of all, do you think Nebraska is meeting Tony
- 48:00Speaker 5: missing Tony White? I mean he's looking pretty good. No,
- 48:06Speaker 5: you don't think so. No, they have the number one
- 48:08Speaker 5: pass defense in the nation. Okay, but what kind of
- 48:12Speaker 5: past offense have they played. Obviously, Michigan's quarterback is not
- 48:16Speaker 5: a good passer.
- 48:19Speaker 6: Yards a game have you saw that Sowarsby has done
- 48:21Speaker 6: at Cincinnati since they played Nebraska?
- 48:24Speaker 5: Okay, first game of the season, we go back to
- 48:26Speaker 5: that first game of the season, doesn't matter.
- 48:28Speaker 6: Rest podcast was cut. The first game of season, doesn't matter.
- 48:30Speaker 5: First the season doesn't matter.
- 48:33Speaker 6: Okay, So so the only real game Texas played they've lost.
- 48:37Speaker 6: So there we go, all right, all right, now, I mean,
- 48:41Speaker 6: what's Oklahoma played? Well, if we cut the first game
- 48:45Speaker 6: of season it was?
- 48:47Speaker 5: Is Auburn ranked anymore? Are they ranked? Or No?
- 48:50Speaker 6: If they are, it's in the twenties. I don't think so.
- 48:52Speaker 5: I don't think they're ranked. No. My question to you is,
- 48:58Speaker 5: how how can you go from a top tier Oklahoma
- 49:02Speaker 5: fan too now cheering on the Nebraska shitty corn Huskers?
- 49:10Speaker 6: Well, you see, I was kind of a closet Husker
- 49:13Speaker 6: fan the whole time. I just never admit it, kind
- 49:17Speaker 6: of like kind of your kind of close something else.
- 49:19Speaker 6: But we won't get into that. But I was a
- 49:24Speaker 6: closet Husker fan the whole time. And finally, I after
- 49:29Speaker 6: this poduc Dunes podcast for a couple of years, I
- 49:32Speaker 6: started cheering for him and everyone noticed it, and I
- 49:34Speaker 6: was starting to watch him more and more because because
- 49:36Speaker 6: I didn't watch him as much when I I was
- 49:39Speaker 6: an on on fan, I guess, and I I finally
- 49:46Speaker 6: just had admitted that I'm a Husker fan. Yes, but
- 49:53Speaker 6: me and you both have admitted we are Husker basketball fans.
- 49:57Speaker 5: I'll be a Husker basketball fan and obviously Husker volleyball fan.
- 50:03Speaker 5: Shout out to Jaden's aunt what's her name, Lindsay Wishmeyer.
- 50:09Speaker 5: There you go, all right, shout out. But this is
- 50:13Speaker 5: what I also wanted to say. I wanted to say.
- 50:14Speaker 5: I want to thank Dakota and Hunter for making me
- 50:16Speaker 5: more of a Texas fan and hate Nebraska even more.
- 50:20Speaker 5: And why is that, let's just say, every week when
- 50:25Speaker 5: Nebraska doesn't have a real football game, I'm getting texts
- 50:27Speaker 5: upon text from Dakota and Hunter saying that Texas isn't
- 50:32Speaker 5: a real football team.
- 50:36Speaker 6: Okay, so.
- 50:41Speaker 5: I'm annoyed that every Nebraska fan thinks that they're a
- 50:46Speaker 5: real football team. This year, do you think do you
- 50:49Speaker 5: think they should be in the top twenty five?
- 50:51Speaker 4: Yes?
- 50:52Speaker 5: Whatever, I actually do. Yeah, why.
- 50:57Speaker 6: They've only lost the Michigan look up good. Since we
- 51:01Speaker 6: can't talk about first game, so look what after we're
- 51:06Speaker 6: gonna talking first game. Look what Cincinnati has been like
- 51:08Speaker 6: since they played Nebraska. They've been blowing the doors sores
- 51:13Speaker 6: be thrown for like three hundred plus yards every game
- 51:15Speaker 6: since they played Nebraska. So that that's a great quality win. Michigan,
- 51:22Speaker 6: they hung with, probably should have won that game. And
- 51:25Speaker 6: I think Nebraskating docks for those two really really bad
- 51:30Speaker 6: teams they played. And I don't know why they're getting
- 51:32Speaker 6: docs in back because everybody plays bad team. I mean,
- 51:34Speaker 6: that was a probably two of the worst teams in
- 51:35Speaker 6: nation anybody's played.
- 51:36Speaker 5: But oh they were definitely.
- 51:41Speaker 6: You went to that acring game. They're not good.
- 51:44Speaker 5: I do I do want to say one thing about Akron.
- 51:46Speaker 5: That quarterback is dang good, and I'll stare him by that.
- 51:51Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, I I still watch any of a
- 51:53Speaker 6: second of that game, but all these other so you
- 52:00Speaker 6: can't down me that Texas has presume right now the Nebraska.
- 52:12Speaker 5: You think about Texas and Nebraska, we would kill Nebraska.
- 52:16Speaker 5: You think, so Nebraska, we have the athletes, we have
- 52:21Speaker 5: way more strength. I mean, you look at Nebraska, they
- 52:24Speaker 5: just look tiny, they don't You look at those top
- 52:27Speaker 5: ten teams and you're like, wow, those are those are athletes.
- 52:32Speaker 5: Those are men out there. Nebraska. I mean, I don't
- 52:39Speaker 5: think they can be a top twenty team. Huh, well,
- 52:46Speaker 5: don't have the athleticism. They're too small. I mean they
- 52:50Speaker 5: need to to get some dogs on the offensive line
- 52:53Speaker 5: and defensive line, that's for sure. And that's they aren't
- 52:55Speaker 5: gonna win a game when they don't have that.
- 52:57Speaker 6: Well, I agree with the expression of Big Ten, like
- 52:59Speaker 6: the D line lines where you need to get built
- 53:01Speaker 6: because the Big Tens, that's what it's built on, running
- 53:04Speaker 6: the ball and holding your defensive offensive lines holding the position.
- 53:14Speaker 6: Like Okay, how am I trying to say it? The
- 53:17Speaker 6: Big ten is built on the run game and your
- 53:20Speaker 6: D line is how is how I feel like it is? Yeah,
- 53:24Speaker 6: and so they need to.
- 53:26Speaker 5: Well, I mean obviously against somewhat decent they've they've been
- 53:32Speaker 5: exposed on the run game every game so far.
- 53:34Speaker 6: I mean, well, yeah, I'm not saying their D line
- 53:36Speaker 6: is great, No one has.
- 53:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:38Speaker 5: So the thing about it is, that's what I'm saying,
- 53:40Speaker 5: Texas would beat him. Texas offensive line is so much
- 53:43Speaker 5: bigger than their D line and we're just gonna run
- 53:45Speaker 5: all over.
- 53:47Speaker 6: Yeah, what happens doing the basketco is ten the box
- 53:49Speaker 6: and you gotta have your your favorite quarterback throw the ball.
- 53:53Speaker 5: Uh depends if you get to If you get pressure
- 53:56Speaker 5: on him, he's probably not gonna throw it well. But
- 53:59Speaker 5: if you don't get any pressure on him, he's gonna complete.
- 54:03Speaker 4: The passes.
- 54:05Speaker 6: And all comes out correct.
- 54:06Speaker 3: Play.
- 54:07Speaker 6: So you think you think Ryola can't outplay their arch Maining, then.
- 54:15Speaker 5: You know. I had a Nebraska fan asked him this
- 54:17Speaker 5: week if I'd rather want Dylan Rayola or Arch on
- 54:22Speaker 5: the Texas team, And you know I told him straight up,
- 54:27Speaker 5: I said Dylan.
- 54:28Speaker 3: Wow.
- 54:30Speaker 5: But then this Michigan State game came on and happened,
- 54:38Speaker 5: and they called me and they're like, you know, I
- 54:43Speaker 5: dogged in you for saying Arch and all. This is
- 54:45Speaker 5: good and everything, but you know, I don't know if
- 54:49Speaker 5: I take Dylan. If I were you, I don't think
- 54:55Speaker 5: every Do you really think Dylan's gonna take them to
- 55:00Speaker 5: a national championship?
- 55:02Speaker 6: No, I'm not saying that. No, Well, Connor, you got
- 55:07Speaker 6: to think that they just Nebraska just made their first
- 55:09Speaker 6: bowl game in six years. Like we're not all saying
- 55:13Speaker 6: they need to win a national title. Now, I'm saying
- 55:16Speaker 6: nine or last wins this year then there's a problem
- 55:18Speaker 6: behind him or behind the brass.
- 55:20Speaker 5: Well, he acted like he's the man, the miss legend,
- 55:23Speaker 5: and he acted like he's heiseman right off the bat.
- 55:26Speaker 5: He wanted to be the arch manning in the offseason.
- 55:30Speaker 5: He wanted all the fame and everything, but he didn't
- 55:31Speaker 5: get it. And now is he proving it? I don't
- 55:34Speaker 5: think so. I don't, Like you guys said in the
- 55:41Speaker 5: podcast this week, if he gets a minor touch, he's
- 55:44Speaker 5: going down. He makes stupids once again. His pocketwareness and
- 55:50Speaker 5: taking No. One win to run is not great right now?
- 55:53Speaker 5: Like that, that's that's the only problem. He's a hell
- 55:56Speaker 5: of a passer. Well, that's what you guys said last year.
- 55:58Speaker 5: I mean, you guys said the same exact thing last year. Nothing,
- 56:03Speaker 5: nothing with Nebraska football.
- 56:05Speaker 6: To me, is improving. They have improved at all.
- 56:11Speaker 5: They haven't been made great leagues. They they aren't playing
- 56:19Speaker 5: teams that we can tell. That's the problem. So is
- 56:22Speaker 5: this Basicekly given a brask credit. They win against Maryland? Yeah,
- 56:27Speaker 5: I did hear that their second in sacks or something.
- 56:31Speaker 6: Yeah, Malon is yet I think they have like nineteen
- 56:35Speaker 6: or something like that.
- 56:36Speaker 5: I don't know. What Maryland's record is. I haven't looked
- 56:39Speaker 5: at anything they've done. They're usually an okay team, though,
- 56:42Speaker 5: But no, they're They're four and.
- 56:44Speaker 6: One and they're one lost against Washington when they were
- 56:46Speaker 6: at twenty nothing. Last week.
- 56:48Speaker 5: They were up twenty nothing and they came back. Washington
- 56:51Speaker 5: came back and lost. Yes, when I mean.
- 56:54Speaker 6: So mary they've won the better Maryland teams in a while?
- 57:02Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 57:03Speaker 6: Or or is this another fake football game? Is this
- 57:06Speaker 6: a real football game or a fake football game? This week?
- 57:10Speaker 5: I don't even know if you have a real football
- 57:11Speaker 5: game for the rest of the year. Penn State just
- 57:13Speaker 5: lost to u C l A. Okay, Texas doesn't have
- 57:20Speaker 5: a real football game because you'd be dogging on Oklahoma
- 57:23Speaker 5: in Texas, A and M and Georgia.
- 57:30Speaker 6: Wait, well, Texas also dodges every hard SEC team possible.
- 57:36Speaker 6: Nice to play every season.
- 57:39Speaker 5: Well, I think Oklahoma's is in the top five. We
- 57:41Speaker 5: aren't dodging them. We ain't God. In Texas, Oklahoma, they're
- 57:45Speaker 5: in the top ten.
- 57:46Speaker 6: You also can't dodge them. You play them every year.
- 57:49Speaker 5: We ain't God. In Georgia, they're five.
- 57:50Speaker 6: Okay one one harm team.
- 57:54Speaker 5: Try try Oklahoma's Missourian. What about Van He's kept the
- 58:01Speaker 5: doors blowing off. Yeah, and you're gonna say that, but
- 58:04Speaker 5: that's just a revenge game. That's in Tuscaluska Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
- 58:11Speaker 5: I don't know what kicked in. But they are looking
- 58:13Speaker 5: good now.
- 58:15Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, that is surprising actually.
- 58:17Speaker 5: Which I mean they started off bad and now they're yeah,
- 58:22Speaker 5: they're playing well, that's all I think.
- 58:24Speaker 6: I think they got embarrassed that first game and now
- 58:26Speaker 6: they're like, all right, let's actually take this ship serious now,
- 58:29Speaker 6: and they are. Yeah, they're they're looking scary. And Oklahoma
- 58:34Speaker 6: goes two Tuscalos this year. That will be awful.
- 58:38Speaker 5: I still think that Bandy is a good tea and
- 58:42Speaker 5: I told everyone that coming into the season.
- 58:46Speaker 6: All right, well, there's there's one more thing.
- 58:49Speaker 5: We don't have Kentucky. We have Kentucky Mississippi State, and
- 58:52Speaker 5: that's easy games. I bet you guys have more easy games.
- 58:57Speaker 5: They don't play another top twenty five team. Oklahoma, No, Nebraska, Oh, Nebraska, No.
- 59:06Speaker 5: No one's ranked right now? Is usc ranked or did
- 59:08Speaker 5: they go out?
- 59:09Speaker 6: No, they're out. I think they might have got ranked
- 59:12Speaker 6: this week. I'm not I'm saying sure, but yeah, I
- 59:14Speaker 6: don't think there's any one question.
- 59:17Speaker 5: Then if they went out, do they deserve playoff contention?
- 59:21Speaker 3: Yes?
- 59:25Speaker 6: I don't care. If you're eleven in one year.
- 59:27Speaker 5: Okay, wait, if they went out and every team stays
- 59:31Speaker 5: unranked and they only win some of these games, most
- 59:34Speaker 5: of these games.
- 59:34Speaker 6: By one score, like they are, yes, you're eleven to
- 59:37Speaker 6: one the Big Ten.
- 59:41Speaker 5: Yeah, but the Big Ten, I think they're out an
- 59:43Speaker 5: all time low. Wow, except for Oregon and Ohio State,
- 59:49Speaker 5: like they're always good.
- 59:51Speaker 6: So so no, no other big No, other Big Ten
- 59:53Speaker 6: teams are real football teams. I mean, you tell me
- 59:57Speaker 6: who I actually. I think Michigan's pretty good.
- 1:00:02Speaker 5: No, Bryce Underwood's not good. He can't pass the ball.
- 1:00:06Speaker 6: Yeah, but he can run like a freaking he can
- 1:00:09Speaker 6: run like a freaking cheetah.
- 1:00:11Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean soa can arc.
- 1:00:15Speaker 6: Okay, why doesn't he do it?
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: Then?
- 1:00:18Speaker 5: Because he plays real defense against real defenses.
- 1:00:24Speaker 6: Yeah, I forgot, I forgot. All the other teams are
- 1:00:26Speaker 6: fake all right, So so let's have you there's one
- 1:00:29Speaker 6: more thing I want you to go off on, and
- 1:00:30Speaker 6: then we'll get your gears score prediction. I'm gonna have
- 1:00:32Speaker 6: you do two score predictions because Okay, there's a little
- 1:00:35Speaker 6: ring folding up. Plowma game Mahomes Ryola, Oh gosh, you've
- 1:00:43Speaker 6: been telling me how that he can went go off
- 1:00:44Speaker 6: about it, So let's let it rip. What do you
- 1:00:47Speaker 6: want to say about it?
- 1:00:48Speaker 5: So I got one problem. You guys all say like.
- 1:00:54Speaker 6: Oh, why are you guys being mean to him?
- 1:00:56Speaker 5: Why are you doing this? You guys came in when
- 1:00:59Speaker 5: he he came to college in the last year. You
- 1:01:02Speaker 5: guys always said, oh, he's just like Mahomes, He's going
- 1:01:05Speaker 5: to be so good, He's just like Mahomes. And now
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: you're hating everyone that's saying he acts too much like Mahomes.
- 1:01:11Speaker 6: Like, I don't think I've said that.
- 1:01:15Speaker 5: That's whatever. I've heard that from many social or not many,
- 1:01:19Speaker 5: many sports shows, podcasts, and multiple Nebraska fans.
- 1:01:31Speaker 6: Yeah, okay, keep going. Are you done?
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: I mean, I don't have too much more to say.
- 1:01:39Speaker 5: I just don't know why they are mad, because do
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: you think it's really weird? Oh, it's one hundred percent weird. Like, yeah,
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: I've said it's a little weird too.
- 1:01:48Speaker 6: There's there's some people that that we know are saying
- 1:01:52Speaker 6: like he's he's not trying to be like Mahomes. I
- 1:01:57Speaker 6: don't know how you can say he's not. Literally everything
- 1:01:59Speaker 6: he does, like pregame is even throwing motion sometimes like
- 1:02:07Speaker 6: his headband, his number. He's trying to be like my owns,
- 1:02:09Speaker 6: which I guess that childhood. I don't like. Why would
- 1:02:12Speaker 6: you not? Why'd you not trying to make your game? Ram?
- 1:02:17Speaker 5: Okay, he can member his game, but the pocket presence
- 1:02:21Speaker 5: is not the same, and then he throws tries to
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: throw it like him. But like I'm I'm tired of
- 1:02:27Speaker 5: him not stepping into a throw or not. He's a
- 1:02:30Speaker 5: freaking college quarterback that has improved himself, step into a
- 1:02:33Speaker 5: throw quick, trying to be cocky out there and play
- 1:02:35Speaker 5: a game of football.
- 1:02:40Speaker 6: Huh, all right, so throw for your life. Here we go,
- 1:02:46Speaker 6: Arch Main, Dean Ryler or drameteer.
- 1:02:49Speaker 5: Throw from my life? Like who they? What are they
- 1:02:52Speaker 5: throwing to? Or what are they doing?
- 1:02:54Speaker 6: They missed it?
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: Throw?
- 1:02:55Speaker 6: You're dead?
- 1:02:57Speaker 5: They miss a throw? Yeah, well, I'm gonna have to say,
- 1:03:02Speaker 5: and this makes me want to throw up. But probably
- 1:03:05Speaker 5: John post surgery or before.
- 1:03:08Speaker 6: Serbously obviously fully healthy. We're not We're not saying broken hand.
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: Well, I mean, I don't know what he's gonna be
- 1:03:16Speaker 5: like this week. If he comes back, he's still probably.
- 1:03:19Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, And I'm sure Texas going for the hand
- 1:03:22Speaker 6: because there are some dirty I'm not gonna say it.
- 1:03:24Speaker 5: Oh oh man, here we go. Their excuses already started.
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: Here we go.
- 1:03:30Speaker 6: I don't think it matters if he plays or not.
- 1:03:32Speaker 6: I think Hawkins will still beat the doors off Texas.
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: You think, so, how'd that go last year?
- 1:03:37Speaker 6: It's totally different this year, is it? Yeah? Our defense
- 1:03:41Speaker 6: about the same as last year. I think like thirty
- 1:03:47Speaker 6: thirty one, no, thirty two. Well, I thought, according to you,
- 1:03:51Speaker 6: they won last year.
- 1:03:53Speaker 5: It's hard to remember. I didn't think we've won five years.
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: Now.
- 1:04:00Speaker 6: I really do think if Hawkins, Hawkins looks better. I
- 1:04:03Speaker 6: know they played. Can't state last week he looked a
- 1:04:06Speaker 6: lot better throwing the ball. Now, last year he can
- 1:04:10Speaker 6: he might have been bottom ten quarterback of throwing in
- 1:04:13Speaker 6: the nation.
- 1:04:14Speaker 5: Like he can run the ball somewhat, Yeah, he can
- 1:04:18Speaker 5: run a lot. All we need is still a tooth
- 1:04:20Speaker 5: pick out there or what did he gain?
- 1:04:22Speaker 6: It looks like he's put on a little bit of muscle.
- 1:04:24Speaker 6: But you gotta think all you need in arch Manda
- 1:04:26Speaker 6: this year is maybe three points like he's that bad.
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: I can't disagree.
- 1:04:34Speaker 6: I could hummer San see arch Man game, bantach this game,
- 1:04:36Speaker 6: like I could.
- 1:04:38Speaker 5: Oh, if you if we come out and throws an
- 1:04:41Speaker 5: interception first quarter and can't completely pass, he's done first quarter, Yeah,
- 1:04:47Speaker 5: he asked me. Otherwise Steve's gone.
- 1:04:50Speaker 6: But yeah, I think I think he's pretty much outdoor already.
- 1:04:54Speaker 5: I don't know what's honestly left on his contract or anything,
- 1:04:57Speaker 5: but like the Penn State coach has like eight years left,
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: but are they going to pay him out?
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:05:03Speaker 5: You don't have to buy this. Yeah, I don't know either.
- 1:05:06Speaker 5: I would, but then I don't know. But if you
- 1:05:10Speaker 5: do that, like you're just like Nebraska. They were going
- 1:05:14Speaker 5: nine and three with bo Pliny, they fired James Franklin.
- 1:05:17Speaker 5: They could be going man also for the next eight years.
- 1:05:21Speaker 6: All thought I was saying Steve Star, Steve Stark sucks.
- 1:05:24Speaker 6: I really don't think he's that good a coach. But
- 1:05:26Speaker 6: look what Texas had before him, Like they were they
- 1:05:30Speaker 6: were toil Bowl with Nebraska for about five years.
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: We were, we were, but this these last two years,
- 1:05:37Speaker 5: I don't know. Steve just has been making some crazy calls,
- 1:05:40Speaker 5: like against Ohio State. I'm telling you, I know first
- 1:05:43Speaker 5: game doesn't count, but we would have won that game
- 1:05:45Speaker 5: if we didn't go for it on fourth down freaking
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: four times or whatever and leave it short and then
- 1:05:51Speaker 5: they started on the fifty yard line or four.
- 1:05:52Speaker 6: Okay, you want to talk about act like they're all
- 1:05:56Speaker 6: hot shitting stuff like Ryola. What was Archie on that
- 1:06:00Speaker 6: fourth and six trying to just get a wide up
- 1:06:03Speaker 6: and guy and he tries to go sidearm it? What's
- 1:06:04Speaker 6: he doing? In what game? I don't know, I guess
- 1:06:08Speaker 6: Ohio State. I guess I don't remember that on one
- 1:06:13Speaker 6: of the last like the last play of the game
- 1:06:15Speaker 6: to end it.
- 1:06:16Speaker 5: Oh oh yeah, he's just when he's pressured, all body
- 1:06:21Speaker 5: mechanics go. I'm saying that now. And the bad thing
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: is in high school. And I don't mean this or
- 1:06:29Speaker 5: any rude towards any class football, but he played Class
- 1:06:33Speaker 5: C football.
- 1:06:34Speaker 6: Well, yeah, they're they're in everybody that listens. Its just
- 1:06:38Speaker 6: in Fairbay.
- 1:06:39Speaker 5: I mean you have Fairbury play against Millard South and
- 1:06:45Speaker 5: you see how that goes. They just have more people
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: to choose from. It's just a given.
- 1:06:50Speaker 6: And this was the guy that you were saying in
- 1:06:51Speaker 6: the beginning of year, is gonna win the Heisman. I
- 1:06:54Speaker 6: didn't say it, not once, all right, So let's gets
- 1:07:00Speaker 6: score prediction. There's two of on one here. If Hawkins
- 1:07:03Speaker 6: is the quarterback, what's corprediction?
- 1:07:05Speaker 5: If Hawkins is the quarterback, obviously we aren't gonna score much.
- 1:07:11Speaker 5: But I think we're gonna hold you guys to only
- 1:07:13Speaker 5: like seven. So I'm gonna say we're gonna score twenty
- 1:07:18Speaker 5: one seven Texas wins one seven? Yepkay?
- 1:07:24Speaker 6: Now my Tier is the quarterback.
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: That could be more of a shootout twenty one, twenty one,
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: twenty eight Texas.
- 1:07:41Speaker 6: Okap I have if Hawkins plays, I have Oklahoma thirty
- 1:07:47Speaker 6: one to fourteen. If John my Tier plays, I have
- 1:07:52Speaker 6: Oklahoma forty five to zero.
- 1:07:54Speaker 5: Forty five to zero. Yes, and yeah, like they are
- 1:07:58Speaker 5: gonna What makes a difference between him playing and us
- 1:08:02Speaker 5: scoring fourteen?
- 1:08:03Speaker 6: You know, Hockins do has a pick six every now
- 1:08:05Speaker 6: and then John my Teer is gonna throw six touchdowns that.
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: Do you think our defense is gonna score two times? Yeah?
- 1:08:11Speaker 6: I think Archpanning is that bad that he will not
- 1:08:14Speaker 6: score once.
- 1:08:15Speaker 5: But what happens if our backup comes in? He came
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: in in the fourth quarter against Florida, threw one pass,
- 1:08:20Speaker 5: didn't even warm up or anything for twenty six yards.
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: Then they pulled him in. I don't know what was happening,
- 1:08:25Speaker 5: but what what was?
- 1:08:26Speaker 6: What's for his record?
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: Again?
- 1:08:30Speaker 5: Well? Two and three?
- 1:08:32Speaker 6: Yep? Okay, I just need to make that clear.
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:08:36Speaker 6: Well, let's have fun the bachelor party. Yep, wish us
- 1:08:43Speaker 6: luck yep. Hopefully don't kill each other, go big rad
- 1:08:48Speaker 6: Boomer sooner. Look, come, some are going to this game.
- 1:08:55Speaker 6: Let's put a freaking beat down in this game. Yeah,
- 1:09:00Speaker 6: but what kind of what kind of money?
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: Whatever?
- 1:09:03Speaker 6: You'll put down on it. I'll do whatever in Oklahoma,
- 1:09:08Speaker 6: and I don't. I'm not going to change if it's
- 1:09:10Speaker 6: material or my clockings. I will do whatever.
- 1:09:13Speaker 5: Money or do we want to do a different thing?
- 1:09:16Speaker 6: I said, I'll do whatever?
- 1:09:18Speaker 5: Well I don't. I don't know. What do you guys usually?
- 1:09:21Speaker 6: Do you make up? You make up the bat? Let's
- 1:09:25Speaker 6: do it, or we just do money. It's all right,
- 1:09:27Speaker 6: I'm giving you a minute.
- 1:09:30Speaker 5: Let's do shots of tequila after the game.
- 1:09:37Speaker 6: Okay, I'll do that. How about this, Okay, the loser
- 1:09:47Speaker 6: has to drink whatever the winner buys them five drinks
- 1:09:50Speaker 6: after the game five five drinks. Has to drink whatever
- 1:09:56Speaker 6: the winner buys them. Has to finish all five heavy shots.
- 1:10:00Speaker 6: It could be liquor, could be anything. Deal all right, deal,
- 1:10:14Speaker 6: goburg grad boomer, honey hook them.
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: It's two thirty in college Park.
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: Turps bring the noise, black Shirts right in, no room
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: for putts, rail in the pocket, handles, rushing heat, old
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: lines testing. Maryland's front is elite, stewing matthes crashed, he
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: edges fast but leak.
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: Watching this routs at your lack of blast.
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: Nebraska's counts pulled schemes, quick passes. If the line holds firm,
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: they'll crack their masks.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: Can the corn Huskins protect right?
- 1:10:41Speaker 6: Yola's don't.
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: If shacks Podler dreams will wrong, special seams matter, black
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: returns still ghost tight, brus hope, kicklers and punk you
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: in its fight.
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: Say if you feel the pride, We're big.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: Brad Fries.
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: Tonight we stand tall, We rise a bus, Beverlynn, we
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: bring the shot, all this.
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: All the time, Record Huskers. We survived all the push,
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: all the night until thirty.
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: We ignite that night, that night, that night, that night,
