- 0:02Speaker 1: All right, welcome everybody.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Foul Territory here another player's only addition with Todd Frazier
- 0:08Speaker 2: Aeric Kratz. Before we get into the day and everything
- 0:11Speaker 2: that happened last night, don't forget to check out our
- 0:13Speaker 2: merch our new merch at foul territorieshot dot com. New
- 0:18Speaker 2: t shirts, new of all kinds of players gear available
- 0:22Speaker 2: on there. Sarah's done a great job designing a bunch
- 0:24Speaker 2: of this, so check it out, buy your shirt. Your
- 0:28Speaker 2: friends might look at you and say where did you
- 0:30Speaker 2: get that, And the answer is simple. It's foul Territory
- 0:32Speaker 2: shop dot com. And here we are boys. Hope you
- 0:37Speaker 2: all had a good time. Todd, it's been a while
- 0:39Speaker 2: since I've seen you.
- 0:39Speaker 1: But Eric, what are you? Because it looks like you're
- 0:42Speaker 1: somewhere we need to know.
- 0:43Speaker 3: I'm in AJ's land. The press box they were like, oh,
- 0:47Speaker 3: we thought AJ would show up because he's better looking,
- 0:49Speaker 3: and I'm like, all right, well that's fine, but now
- 0:51Speaker 3: I'm in Milwaukee. We got a Legends game here at
- 0:54Speaker 3: American I gotta I gotta look at the name of it,
- 0:57Speaker 3: American Family Field. I mean, maybe I can, maybe I
- 1:00Speaker 3: can turn my shot around. So everybody can see the
- 1:02Speaker 3: pre game workout for all the players here. But uh yeah,
- 1:06Speaker 3: we got Legends game post game, so we'll see how
- 1:08Speaker 3: that goes for me.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Well, will you catch though? Will you catch it? Will
- 1:13Speaker 1: you get in it? Bat? What are you gonna do?
- 1:15Speaker 3: I was honestly looking at our roster and unfortunately, I
- 1:19Speaker 3: think we have two outfielders. So I'm really really fearful
- 1:22Speaker 3: that they're gonna put Luke Roy behind a dish and
- 1:25Speaker 3: they're gonna make me go in the outfield. And I'm
- 1:26Speaker 3: looking at the outfield right now and I'm like, I'll
- 1:30Speaker 3: go get the ball when it stops rolling, that's pretty
- 1:32Speaker 3: much mine. But yeah, I'll catch. I think we're playing
- 1:35Speaker 3: three innings if I hope I get an ab pictures
- 1:38Speaker 3: are throwing. The thing I'm really worried about, more than
- 1:40Speaker 3: running after the ball in the outfield is the fact
- 1:43Speaker 3: that we're not having helmets. So this is like a
- 1:46Speaker 3: Legends game kind of thing, and they don't have helmets.
- 1:48Speaker 3: So I'm like, if Ben sheets who's here? If he
- 1:51Speaker 3: drops a curveball on me, I'm definitely gonna flinch. If
- 1:54Speaker 3: he throws three curveballs in a row, I'm flinching all
- 1:57Speaker 3: three of them. No way, I'm hanging in there without
- 1:59Speaker 3: a helmet on. So like, I don't I just don't
- 2:02Speaker 3: think I can. I don't think I can do it. Todd,
- 2:04Speaker 3: have you ever done one of these? Have you ever
- 2:06Speaker 3: done one of these?
- 2:07Speaker 4: I'm doing.
- 2:08Speaker 5: I'm doing my first Old Timers game for the Yankees
- 2:11Speaker 5: coming up August State.
- 2:12Speaker 3: So wait, wait, wait, wait wait you got invited to that?
- 2:15Speaker 4: I did. It was my first year. I got you
- 2:17Speaker 4: gotta you gotta wait a certain.
- 2:19Speaker 5: Amount of time out and me and uh I think
- 2:23Speaker 5: Otto Vino got invited to so we're both call into
- 2:26Speaker 5: the old I hate it. It's his old Timers game.
- 2:28Speaker 5: But that's just that, that's just it is what it is.
- 2:32Speaker 5: But yeah, yeah, I think you get one at bat
- 2:34Speaker 5: and you played two or three innings, So I'm I'm
- 2:36Speaker 5: pretty excited trying hopefully uh Andy pettit's on the mound
- 2:40Speaker 5: or somebody so I can try and go deep.
- 2:42Speaker 4: I need a lefty on the mound. That's that's the
- 2:44Speaker 4: that's the problem.
- 2:46Speaker 3: This is trash. This is trash. How have I not
- 2:48Speaker 3: been invited to the old Timers game? I'm actually old like,
- 2:52Speaker 3: It's not like it's not like you're old Todd, Like
- 2:54Speaker 3: I'm actually old, Like I want to go there. I
- 2:56Speaker 3: think it. With all the teams I played on, I
- 2:58Speaker 3: always felt like I could make like a living. I
- 3:00Speaker 3: could make a living out of just going to all
- 3:02Speaker 3: these legends games and alumni games and people were like,
- 3:05Speaker 3: who's that guy, and I'm like, pay me my money?
- 3:07Speaker 3: I showed up.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Oh god, yeah, it'd be fun. It'd be a lot
- 3:12Speaker 4: of fun look forward to.
- 3:13Speaker 1: I got we got to hear about that. We gotta
- 3:15Speaker 1: get some video of that.
- 3:15Speaker 2: If both of you guys trying to play and and hit,
- 3:19Speaker 2: and then how sore you are the next day, that's
- 3:22Speaker 2: the key. I remember when I did a couple of
- 3:24Speaker 2: a few years ago. The next day was a little
- 3:26Speaker 2: bit different than waking up on a normal Saturday or
- 3:29Speaker 2: Sunday whatever that whatever day of the games were so
- 3:31Speaker 2: because as much as you guys will try not to
- 3:34Speaker 2: go as hard as you can, you still wake up
- 3:37Speaker 2: and you're like, man, I went a little bit harder
- 3:38Speaker 2: than I thought I was. So I remember Samanna Bananas
- 3:41Speaker 2: that was it last year or whenever that was. I
- 3:43Speaker 2: woke up and I was like the next day, I
- 3:44Speaker 2: was like, ah, I feel pretty good, but ah, the
- 3:47Speaker 2: old obleaque still a little bit sore because that's a
- 3:49Speaker 2: little bit more swings than I've taken the last I
- 3:51Speaker 2: don't know, seven years or anything.
- 3:53Speaker 1: So there'll be fun. You guys enjoy it.
- 3:55Speaker 3: We had we had a reception last night. Everyone's hanging
- 3:58Speaker 3: out telling stories. There are some dudes that are like, like,
- 4:01Speaker 3: Bill Hall's here. I'm like, you look like you can
- 4:05Speaker 3: still play, Like he hasn't played since fourteen. He's like, yeah,
- 4:09Speaker 3: you know, I hit. Some guys are like, oh, you
- 4:12Speaker 3: hit all the time. Like these dudes are like, I mean,
- 4:16Speaker 3: who else is here? Eric Sogart he just was playing
- 4:19Speaker 3: for the with the Czech team and a WBC getting
- 4:22Speaker 3: ready for that. Like Eric Dames looks like he looks
- 4:26Speaker 3: like he just got done working out with Yondi Diez.
- 4:29Speaker 3: I'm not sure who's bigger right now. They are two
- 4:32Speaker 3: absolute monsters.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Well let's seehere, you're righting all right, Let's charge Let's
- 4:37Speaker 2: charge them out, guys, let's charge out. Is it gonna happen?
- 4:43Speaker 2: That's the question, is it really gonna happen? Jeff Fletcher
- 4:46Speaker 2: from the Orange County Register wrote the Angels have several
- 4:50Speaker 2: assets most notably Redeptmers and Jose Soriana, who could be
- 4:54Speaker 2: active trade chips to help replenish the young talent in
- 4:57Speaker 2: the system. New GM John mose Look in charge of
- 5:00Speaker 2: the baseball ups. Can he get through to Artie Morino
- 5:03Speaker 2: and actually say we have chips to trade, We're gonna
- 5:06Speaker 2: actually do it and help them make this team worth
- 5:09Speaker 2: the crap because they haven't been worth the crap basically
- 5:11Speaker 2: since Mike Trout has been there, right, they haven't won
- 5:13Speaker 2: a playoff game with Mike Trout. Mike Trout, I think
- 5:15Speaker 2: he has eleven playoff at bats or something crazy like
- 5:18Speaker 2: that in his entire career. So, Todd, do you think
- 5:21Speaker 2: this will actually be the year where the Angels say
- 5:23Speaker 2: we're gonna sell our best players and actually try to
- 5:26Speaker 2: win in the future.
- 5:28Speaker 5: I mean they they should, They definitely should. I was
- 5:32Speaker 5: a big component when Sho heeo Tani was still on
- 5:35Speaker 5: the team that had an opportunity to get anything they
- 5:38Speaker 5: really wanted for him. I think that was mistake number one.
- 5:40Speaker 5: This could be mistake number two. They do. They have
- 5:43Speaker 5: some really good assets here that they can get rid of.
- 5:48Speaker 5: I mean Zach Netto, I mean, talk talk about a
- 5:50Speaker 5: guy that's a good fit in some teams. He's absolutely incredible.
- 5:54Speaker 5: I know the Red Sox view him as a strong fit.
- 5:57Speaker 5: I know, you know, even Mike Trout. Guys, listen, I
- 6:01Speaker 5: understand about the money. But there's a possibility that some
- 6:05Speaker 5: teams do want him and bring him to a team
- 6:07Speaker 5: where he can actually get into the playoffs. Yeah, this
- 6:11Speaker 5: should be the team where if I'm sitting there and
- 6:14Speaker 5: I'm Angels and I'm the brass, like, hey, come to
- 6:16Speaker 5: me with whatever you got, I'm waiting right now, tell
- 6:19Speaker 5: me talk to me. I'm gonna I'm gonna sit there
- 6:22Speaker 5: and ponder about every little thing you guys are talking about.
- 6:25Speaker 5: They have a bunch of chips, and guess what, they're
- 6:29Speaker 5: easily in the right move, they can make a really
- 6:32Speaker 5: big dent into their system.
- 6:34Speaker 4: In a good way and maybe even get.
- 6:37Speaker 5: A couple veteran guys back if possible. You know, that
- 6:39Speaker 5: can help them down the line.
- 6:41Speaker 1: All right, But why this year, Todd, That's the question
- 6:43Speaker 1: for me.
- 6:44Speaker 2: It's we've been talking about this since show Hey was there, right,
- 6:47Speaker 2: and he's been in the Dodgers now for three This
- 6:48Speaker 2: is his third year with the Dodgers. Mike Trout has
- 6:51Speaker 2: been Hey, Mike Trout should be traded, right, They've had
- 6:53Speaker 2: pieces before that they could trade. Why would it be
- 6:56Speaker 2: different this year? Is it just because was Aylock's there?
- 6:59Speaker 2: But Zaylock does Moze Loac have Arty Morino's ear because
- 7:02Speaker 2: in the past, Arty Morinos put the kaibosh on all
- 7:05Speaker 2: of this. So let's sell our best players. So why
- 7:08Speaker 2: this year? It doesn't make sense that all of a sudden,
- 7:10Speaker 2: other than John mose.
- 7:11Speaker 5: Look, yeah, I mean because they've made the mistake of
- 7:14Speaker 5: not doing it. I mean, they got to understand this
- 7:17Speaker 5: team is not making the playoffs anytime soon.
- 7:19Speaker 4: They have. I mean, Jose Soriano started off really well.
- 7:23Speaker 5: You know, he's teetered a little bit, but at the
- 7:25Speaker 5: same time, he would be a great fit in some
- 7:28Speaker 5: organizations that are trying to move forward and get to
- 7:30Speaker 5: the playoffs with guys that are injured. Yeah, I think
- 7:34Speaker 5: it's a different person. I think it's a different kind
- 7:36Speaker 5: of atmosphere there. And they've been holding back for a
- 7:41Speaker 5: long time. Man, Oh, you never know, we can't do this,
- 7:43Speaker 5: can't do that. It's time to open up the books
- 7:46Speaker 5: and say, who's got something for me? Let's talk and
- 7:50Speaker 5: if it works out, it works out. You gotta make
- 7:52Speaker 5: a change there because nothing is working over there for
- 7:55Speaker 5: a long time.
- 7:55Speaker 6: Now, if you're watching us, you already know we're wearing
- 8:01Speaker 6: mack Weldon right now as we talk about a great
- 8:04Speaker 6: brand that makes things so comfortable and easy to wear.
- 8:07Speaker 6: But if you're listening to the show, let me tell
- 8:09Speaker 6: you a little bit more about mac Weldon with my
- 8:11Speaker 6: friend Aer Kratz.
- 8:13Speaker 3: Yeah, it's comfortable, it's light, it's summertime right now. For
- 8:17Speaker 3: me though, they cater to what I need tall clothes. Normally,
- 8:22Speaker 3: when I buy tall clothes it's like something that's cumbersome
- 8:26Speaker 3: and boxy. It still fits incredibly well, super light, perfect
- 8:31Speaker 3: for the summertime. They got me all covered.
- 8:34Speaker 6: Comfortable performance material can be yours. Mac Weldon is the spot.
- 8:41Speaker 6: Don't sweat the heat this summer. Feel as effortlessly cool
- 8:45Speaker 6: as you look. With mac Weldon. Go to macweldon dot
- 8:47Speaker 6: com and get twenty percent off your first order of
- 8:49Speaker 6: one hundred and twenty five bucks or more with promo
- 8:51Speaker 6: code foul that's m ackw eld o n dot com code.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Fo u l Okay.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Well, let's say they don't they aren't able to find
- 8:59Speaker 2: a trade partner or Zach no no, and they're not
- 9:01Speaker 2: able to trade to find a trade partner for Jose
- 9:04Speaker 2: Soriano and Read Devers, and maybe Grayson Rodriguez is also
- 9:07Speaker 2: if you bitches well tonight, maybe he's also on the block.
- 9:10Speaker 2: But let's say they don't. Then what do the Angels
- 9:13Speaker 2: do if they don't make these trades? Because if they
- 9:14Speaker 2: don't make these trades, then you just say, oh, it's
- 9:17Speaker 2: the same old Angels. It's the same old Angels again, right,
- 9:20Speaker 2: So how much pressure is there to actually make these
- 9:22Speaker 2: trades because Ardy Reino doesn't seem like he cares about
- 9:24Speaker 2: the pressure.
- 9:26Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I think now more than ever there's pressure.
- 9:31Speaker 5: And I'm not gonna say it's a make or breag pressure,
- 9:34Speaker 5: but it's go time. I know the Angels fans have
- 9:37Speaker 5: been very critical about some of the things we've said
- 9:39Speaker 5: on the show, but they got to understand you're gonna
- 9:42Speaker 5: sit there and keep watching the same old Angels team
- 9:45Speaker 5: a year in and year out.
- 9:47Speaker 4: I mean, it's been going on for a lot of years.
- 9:49Speaker 5: Now, what's the difference If you get a bunch of
- 9:51Speaker 5: prospects and you got to wait three or four more years.
- 9:54Speaker 5: It's gonna be the same old progress that. Oh yeah, look,
- 9:57Speaker 5: in the beginning of the year they're doing pretty good.
- 9:59Speaker 5: Then it falls off. They need guys to come in
- 10:02Speaker 5: that are gritty, that are grinders that can help a team,
- 10:04Speaker 5: and they need that team atmosphere where hey, listen, we
- 10:08Speaker 5: don't want to play this Angels team anymore. They figured
- 10:10Speaker 5: out a way to get the right team, a board,
- 10:13Speaker 5: and the right guys to make this team great.
- 10:15Speaker 4: Listen, I love Mike Troudy.
- 10:16Speaker 5: He's not getting any younger, Okay, So who's going to
- 10:20Speaker 5: be that next guy that they're going to look to
- 10:23Speaker 5: be the leader of this team as they move forward
- 10:26Speaker 5: in the next four to six years. Nobody knows every
- 10:29Speaker 5: team wants to go younger. The veteran guys there. I mean,
- 10:32Speaker 5: it's like an anomaly right now. Nobody has time or
- 10:36Speaker 5: nobody is there to help these young guys out. You
- 10:38Speaker 5: need a couple veteran guys, and you need some young
- 10:41Speaker 5: core group that can come up and say, guess what,
- 10:44Speaker 5: I'm ready to play the big leagues and we're ready
- 10:46Speaker 5: to take the Angels by storm.
- 10:47Speaker 4: Here.
- 10:48Speaker 1: I agree.
- 10:49Speaker 2: And by the way, if it was me and I
- 10:51Speaker 2: was Jean Mozilla everybody's on the table.
- 10:53Speaker 3: There's not one.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Guy, including Mike Trout, that I will not make it all.
- 10:56Speaker 2: I will not receive an offer for and think about
- 10:59Speaker 2: trading because there's not one guy on this team that
- 11:01Speaker 2: when these guys are good again, is gonna help them. Right,
- 11:04Speaker 2: it's gonna be four or five years. So if I'm
- 11:05Speaker 2: Joe mose like, I am like every listen, guys, we're
- 11:07Speaker 2: olding for business. But there's a piece y'all want. Let's
- 11:10Speaker 2: start over.
- 11:10Speaker 4: And I don't think he can make a mistake here.
- 11:13Speaker 5: Listen, if you get rid of a guy and all
- 11:15Speaker 5: of a sudden, oh man, I can't believe you got
- 11:16Speaker 5: you got these guys back.
- 11:17Speaker 4: But what's the darn difference? What's the difference? I mean,
- 11:20Speaker 4: they're winning, is not there?
- 11:22Speaker 5: So guess what, maybe in two or three or four years,
- 11:24Speaker 5: all of a sudden you're like, oh, that was a
- 11:26Speaker 5: good trader. Maybe it wasn't. But it's gonna be the
- 11:28Speaker 5: same old team as they move forward. And guess what.
- 11:30Speaker 5: That's the nature of the beast.
- 11:32Speaker 4: It is over there.
- 11:32Speaker 5: They're gonna win games, but they're gonna lose a lot
- 11:34Speaker 5: more games as time goes on here, So why not
- 11:37Speaker 5: take a chance.
- 11:39Speaker 4: Why not make it, make.
- 11:40Speaker 5: A move where everybody's like, I don't think so, and
- 11:43Speaker 5: maybe it works, maybe it doesn't, but it'll be in
- 11:45Speaker 5: the same They'll be in the same here.
- 11:47Speaker 4: There's they're not going above anything right now.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Agreed. Agreed.
- 11:52Speaker 2: If you want more Halo Talk, more Angels talk, more
- 11:54Speaker 2: big A Talk, more Los Angeles Angels, listen to Mark,
- 11:57Speaker 2: Mike Di Giovanna and Mark on Halo Territory on YouTube
- 12:02Speaker 2: and wherever you get your podcasts. All right, Todd, let's
- 12:12Speaker 2: get into this. We're getting close to the trade deadline.
- 12:16Speaker 2: You were traded, You've been traded during the season. I
- 12:19Speaker 2: was never traded during the season. I was DFAD and
- 12:21Speaker 2: had to move and sign with a different team. So
- 12:23Speaker 2: it's a little bit different than one day you wake
- 12:25Speaker 2: up and the next day you're in a different city.
- 12:27Speaker 2: So what's it like from the player's perspective, Because again,
- 12:30Speaker 2: I've never been through it. I've had to say goodbye
- 12:32Speaker 2: to people, I've had to say hello to new teammates.
- 12:34Speaker 2: But as someone that's been through it, explain what it's
- 12:36Speaker 2: like for you and your family to get that call
- 12:38Speaker 2: or that text or that handshake or whatever you want.
- 12:41Speaker 2: To call when they say, hey, Todd, you're going from
- 12:43Speaker 2: teammate a team B.
- 12:45Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, listen for me. Two things.
- 12:49Speaker 5: It's tough to leave your teammates, especially if you've been
- 12:52Speaker 5: around them for a lot of years. When I was
- 12:54Speaker 5: in Cincinnati for five six years and then eventually got
- 12:57Speaker 5: traded in the office season crazy times. I got traded, uh,
- 13:04Speaker 5: four days before my wife gave birth to our second child.
- 13:07Speaker 5: It was it was wacky. But during the year, it's
- 13:11Speaker 5: easy for me. All I gotta do. I mean, it's
- 13:13Speaker 5: said you got to say about everybody, But all I
- 13:16Speaker 5: got to do is get my stuff packed up and
- 13:18Speaker 5: get on the plane. Now, my wife, who's the backbone,
- 13:21Speaker 5: who's been absolutely incredible, you know, going from one city.
- 13:24Speaker 4: I went from Chicago to New York. And it's hard.
- 13:29Speaker 4: It's hard.
- 13:29Speaker 5: We have furniture, we got the kids, we got cars,
- 13:33Speaker 5: we got everything you can name, from kids stuff to
- 13:37Speaker 5: her stuff too. Oh man, it is a workload and
- 13:41Speaker 5: she was an absolute beast with it. But I gave
- 13:43Speaker 5: her all the credit in the world. She did it
- 13:45Speaker 5: in a couple of days. Found moving company that ships
- 13:49Speaker 5: stuff from Chicago to New York or New Jersey wherever.
- 13:51Speaker 5: We were going. But for me, yeah, the personal stuff
- 13:55Speaker 5: like knowing everybody from the clubhouse guys to the management,
- 13:58Speaker 5: to the player to the fans. That's the tough part
- 14:03Speaker 5: you're leaving. But ultimately my job was easy. Just find
- 14:06Speaker 5: a way to get on the next plane, get to
- 14:08Speaker 5: the next city and play and do your job and
- 14:10Speaker 5: play baseball.
- 14:11Speaker 4: But I have to give credit to my wife.
- 14:13Speaker 5: She's been absolutely She's had to do it three times
- 14:16Speaker 5: and for her it was hard, but she never complain
- 14:19Speaker 5: one time.
- 14:20Speaker 4: So you've got to have a good helper.
- 14:22Speaker 5: Now you don't even have to be your wife, with
- 14:23Speaker 5: your girlfriend, your mom, your dad, you're a friend.
- 14:26Speaker 4: But yeah, I get her credit.
- 14:28Speaker 5: And then my buddies actually put everything together in my
- 14:31Speaker 5: new apartment.
- 14:32Speaker 4: So got to have a good backbone, for sure.
- 14:36Speaker 2: God did to make it easier that you were going
- 14:38Speaker 2: to New York, a place it was close to your
- 14:40Speaker 2: home right New Jersey. So it's not how far is
- 14:43Speaker 2: I don't know how far Tom's River is from the Bronx, but.
- 14:46Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, about an hour and twenty minutes. It's not
- 14:49Speaker 5: that far, but I I stayed closer. I was in
- 14:52Speaker 5: the town called Fort Lee, which was right before the
- 14:54Speaker 5: GW the bridge and it would take me about twelve
- 14:59Speaker 5: minutes to get to the stadium and stuff, so depending
- 15:01Speaker 5: on when I left. I didn't want to take that
- 15:04Speaker 5: track every day. So we had an apartment there and
- 15:07Speaker 5: it was it was a good thing. You know, not
- 15:09Speaker 5: many people some people move across the country. So but yeah,
- 15:14Speaker 5: it's hard to fin it's hard. It's uh, it's an
- 15:17Speaker 5: adjustment you have to really figure out. So for me, lucky,
- 15:20Speaker 5: I had you know, my wife doing all the jobs.
- 15:23Speaker 5: I wouldn't trust anybody else.
- 15:25Speaker 1: That's perfect.
- 15:26Speaker 2: People don't realize how much the wives do for people
- 15:28Speaker 2: and players behind the scenes, right, So it's a crazy time.
- 15:32Speaker 2: I know. When I, like I said, when I was
- 15:34Speaker 2: DFA and I went from Boston, I had a two
- 15:36Speaker 2: week break in between. Then I had to go to
- 15:38Speaker 2: Saint Louis try to find an apartment. Luckily, Mack Carboner
- 15:41Speaker 2: was moving out of his apartment. He had just gotten
- 15:43Speaker 2: rich and bought a house, so he gave me his
- 15:44Speaker 2: lease and it was fully furnished. So for me, it
- 15:47Speaker 2: was like simple. I got to Saint Louis, I met
- 15:49Speaker 2: him on the road. I got to Saint Louis, I
- 15:50Speaker 2: just slid right into mac Carbenter's.
- 15:52Speaker 1: He just gave me the keys.
- 15:53Speaker 2: I had to clean the sheets a little bit and
- 15:55Speaker 2: some of the couches from where he had set around
- 15:57Speaker 2: his beard had fallen into the into the stuff. But
- 16:00Speaker 2: after that, man, it was simple. So Kratzy, did you
- 16:02Speaker 2: ever have you ever get traded.
- 16:03Speaker 1: In the middle of the season.
- 16:04Speaker 4: Oh?
- 16:05Speaker 3: Yeah, twenty fourteen. I was the big move for the Royals.
- 16:08Speaker 3: They figured they'd bring me in and take like twenty
- 16:11Speaker 3: four at bats for the rest of the season, including
- 16:14Speaker 3: the playoffs. Yeah, in fourteen, I got traded at the break.
- 16:18Speaker 3: At seventeen, I got traded. I mean when I say
- 16:21Speaker 3: at the break, I'm sorry at the trade deadline, it's seventeen.
- 16:23Speaker 3: I got traded to the Yankees August thirtieth. Yeah, August thirtieth,
- 16:30Speaker 3: they called. So it was when they used to have
- 16:32Speaker 3: the second trade deadline. I was in TRIPAA with Columbus
- 16:36Speaker 3: and el Gary and Boston Roman both got in a
- 16:41Speaker 3: fight with Miguel Cabrera in Detroit and they ended up
- 16:48Speaker 3: both getting suspended. So they're like, well, we need a
- 16:50Speaker 3: third guy. In September and KYLEI Goshioka was hurt, so
- 16:53Speaker 3: they traded for me from Columbus, so I got to
- 16:56Speaker 3: go to New York at two at bats that year.
- 16:58Speaker 3: It was a huge, huge piece of that playoff team.
- 17:02Speaker 3: And then in eighteen I got traded not to trade deadline,
- 17:06Speaker 3: but in May to this you know here in Milwaukee,
- 17:09Speaker 3: and so I got to got to play there. So yeah,
- 17:12Speaker 3: I got traded a lot of times, only at trade deadline,
- 17:15Speaker 3: only in fourteen and seventeen.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Grats you, by the way, before I have a quick
- 17:20Speaker 2: comment the guy behind you, can you used to say hi
- 17:22Speaker 2: to him?
- 17:22Speaker 1: For me?
- 17:22Speaker 2: Can you just wave to the guy behind you over
- 17:24Speaker 2: your shoulder see him say you're on TV. They wanted
- 17:26Speaker 2: me to say hi, said AJ says hi, tell me
- 17:31Speaker 2: a J. Perzinski says hi. He said he he said
- 17:34Speaker 2: he knows you. He said he doesn't hate you, but
- 17:36Speaker 2: he knows you. No, yess not true because I bring
- 17:39Speaker 2: him great food every time every time I come into
- 17:41Speaker 2: the Fox game. We have a huge spread, so I
- 17:44Speaker 2: know that's not true. He said, he said he brings
- 17:46Speaker 2: you great food every time. Right, They say, he said,
- 17:51Speaker 2: it's it. He said, you know, guy, he knows. By
- 17:54Speaker 2: the way, the story that I always tell in fourteen
- 17:56Speaker 2: when I switched teams, I actually sold my house in
- 17:58Speaker 2: Orlando and I had to move into a rental. And
- 18:00Speaker 2: when I got home after the season thought I was
- 18:03Speaker 2: driving in an Uber from the hotel the season was
- 18:06Speaker 2: over to my new house, which was a rental, and
- 18:08Speaker 2: I didn't know where it was, and the Uber driver goes,
- 18:10Speaker 2: where are we going?
- 18:11Speaker 1: And I was like, I don't know.
- 18:12Speaker 2: I think it's his house right here, and he goes,
- 18:14Speaker 2: have you never been to your own house?
- 18:16Speaker 1: And I said, actually nope, because we moved out.
- 18:19Speaker 2: My wife had to move us out, put us in
- 18:21Speaker 2: a new house, kids included. And when I got home,
- 18:23Speaker 2: I had never been there. I've never even seen it,
- 18:25Speaker 2: but we lived in it for a year until our
- 18:27Speaker 2: new house was done. So yeah, that's my that's my
- 18:30Speaker 2: almost trade in the middle of the season story right there.
- 18:32Speaker 3: That's the reality. That's the reality that there is so much.
- 18:37Speaker 3: I mean, usually when you're traded, you're rarely traded as
- 18:39Speaker 3: like an older guy. You rarely traded to a trash team.
- 18:43Speaker 3: They're not like picking some dude up to finish under
- 18:46Speaker 3: five hundred. So you're an older guy, you get traded
- 18:48Speaker 3: to a playoff team, and it's awesome. There's so many
- 18:50Speaker 3: like great things like you were on the A's and
- 18:53Speaker 3: now you're on the Brewers. Whatever it is like you
- 18:57Speaker 3: sit there and you go, this is great for my career.
- 19:00Speaker 3: There is so many things. I moved ninety four times
- 19:05Speaker 3: in my almost twenty five years of marriage now, and
- 19:11Speaker 3: it was all because of baseball spring training, to double
- 19:14Speaker 3: A to Triple A, to the big leagues, back to
- 19:17Speaker 3: triple A. Like those moves are great. You get sent down,
- 19:21Speaker 3: that sucks. You get called up, it's awesome. But like
- 19:24Speaker 3: Todd said, the wife's the one that carries a lot
- 19:28Speaker 3: of the load. And it's more than just trying to
- 19:32Speaker 3: find your house in an uber when you get back home.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Like it's a lot of things that make it very
- 19:39Speaker 3: You have to be very intentional in your marriage and
- 19:41Speaker 3: relationship because they're going through a lot while you're going
- 19:44Speaker 3: through a lot of massages and big league flights.
- 19:50Speaker 4: True.
- 19:50Speaker 2: True, And by the way, in twenty fourteen, a good
- 19:55Speaker 2: thing I signed with the Cardinals because I was about
- 19:58Speaker 2: just far from signing with the Royals. That never would
- 20:00Speaker 2: have happened for you, Crawtsey, if I would ended up
- 20:02Speaker 2: what time.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Time, what time of year was that that you were
- 20:05Speaker 3: because the Royals would have never picked you up. They
- 20:07Speaker 3: didn't like your kinds.
- 20:08Speaker 2: That's weird because I had about a two hour conversation
- 20:11Speaker 2: with Dayton Moore on the phone and I was I
- 20:13Speaker 2: was supposed to call him back, and that was when
- 20:15Speaker 2: the Cardinals called me because Yachtie got hurt. So it
- 20:18Speaker 2: was about July, right after the whatever the All Star whenever,
- 20:22Speaker 2: the All Star break was right after the All Star breaks,
- 20:24Speaker 2: so it was in Cooperstown for the induction for Frank
- 20:30Speaker 2: Thomas's Hall of Fame induction. So it was around July twentieth.
- 20:33Speaker 2: It was about this time.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Of year, so it was right before the trade deal line.
- 20:36Speaker 2: And so he called. Dayton Moore called me and said, hey,
- 20:38Speaker 2: we want you to come to the Royals. And I
- 20:40Speaker 2: was like, okay, let's do this. The Royals were pretty
- 20:42Speaker 2: good that year. And I talked to him for I
- 20:44Speaker 2: don't know, an hour on the phone or so, and
- 20:45Speaker 2: we had a whole conversation.
- 20:47Speaker 1: He's like all right. I said, all right, let me
- 20:48Speaker 1: call my agent.
- 20:49Speaker 2: In between me me having that conversation with Dayton Moore
- 20:52Speaker 2: and calling my agent, the Cardinals called and said, hey,
- 20:54Speaker 2: yacht he's heard we need you to get here. Tomorrow,
- 20:56Speaker 2: and I was like, oh, Cardinals, Royals, And at the time,
- 20:58Speaker 2: the Cardinals were I think we're in first place, so
- 21:00Speaker 2: I obviously jumped on the Cardinals. I mean we lost
- 21:03Speaker 2: in the NLCS, the Royals lost in the playoffs. It's
- 21:05Speaker 2: crazy how little things happen like that, and it works
- 21:08Speaker 2: out for some, it works out for and sometimes it
- 21:10Speaker 2: works out for both, like it did for you and
- 21:12Speaker 2: I Crossy. All right, here we go, seek geek. Pick
- 21:20Speaker 2: your match up. Boys, you get to pick your matchup
- 21:22Speaker 2: who you want to see? Who you want to see tonight? Tall,
- 21:26Speaker 2: where are you going? And you can't say in New
- 21:28Speaker 2: York because you don't need to see you get seats
- 21:30Speaker 2: in New York, So pick somewhere other than New York.
- 21:33Speaker 4: Oh, Man, I don't know.
- 21:35Speaker 5: I think the Red Sox have been fascinating these past
- 21:38Speaker 5: couple of weeks. Man, I would like to see them
- 21:40Speaker 5: in person, even though they finally did lose a game,
- 21:43Speaker 5: going fifteen in a row. Blue Jay's of Red Sox.
- 21:46Speaker 5: I the Blue Jays, I don't know what is going on.
- 21:49Speaker 5: So you know they got your savage on the mound
- 21:53Speaker 5: versus sand the ball. Forget about the matchups. This is
- 21:55Speaker 5: This is a big time for the Red Sox to
- 21:57Speaker 5: make that push, to keep staying alive in the wild
- 22:00Speaker 5: Card and making a push to the al least.
- 22:02Speaker 4: So I want to see this Red Sox team in person,
- 22:04Speaker 4: for sure.
- 22:05Speaker 2: I'm going to Fenway, Nice Crattea, No Milwaukee. I know
- 22:08Speaker 2: you're in Milwaukee and and and you know we get
- 22:11Speaker 2: to watch you.
- 22:11Speaker 1: I can't.
- 22:12Speaker 2: I hope they they show your game after the alumni
- 22:16Speaker 2: game after on the on the channel. I'm gonna have
- 22:18Speaker 2: to tune in and watch a hamstring or two blowout
- 22:20Speaker 2: when you're some of these guys are trying to run
- 22:22Speaker 2: like fantasy camp.
- 22:23Speaker 1: What's your what's your picking? You can't pick the Brewers.
- 22:26Speaker 3: I mean I feel like I work for seat Keeek.
- 22:28Speaker 3: I could tell you exactly what seat is not in
- 22:30Speaker 3: the sun soaping right now. Like actually in Milwaukee, there's
- 22:35Speaker 3: no bad seats because the stadium anyway, it's it's all right,
- 22:38Speaker 3: you're all right on top of the field. I mean,
- 22:40Speaker 3: my pick is my pick is the Phillies Yankees, and
- 22:44Speaker 3: I think it's at Citizens Bank Park, and I think
- 22:48Speaker 3: it's Cam Schlitzler versus jyesus Lizardo. Our notes say, will Warren,
- 22:53Speaker 3: but I think it's Cam Schlitler. I'm wanna see the
- 22:56Speaker 3: Phillies lineup can make an adjustment against a leading, say
- 23:01Speaker 3: young candidate in the American League and not just give
- 23:05Speaker 3: away at bats for a majority of the game and
- 23:07Speaker 3: hope you get somebody in the bullpen that you know
- 23:09Speaker 3: they're able to do some damage against.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Anyways, of course, I got a code for you, Like
- 23:14Speaker 2: Kratzy said, you can all use the code Territory ten
- 23:17Speaker 2: for ten percent off your next set of MLB tickets,
- 23:19Speaker 2: as Seki does ten percent off MLB tickets with promo
- 23:22Speaker 2: code Territory ten. Make sure you click the link in
- 23:25Speaker 2: the description to download the app and have the code
- 23:27Speaker 2: automatically added to your account so you can use it later.
- 23:36Speaker 1: All right, here we go. Jason Stark recently.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Released his case for Hall of Fame players active and
- 23:43Speaker 2: who helped their case and who has hurt their case
- 23:46Speaker 2: this year. And I find this list pretty fascinating because
- 23:49Speaker 2: there's tiers to this and he kind of made it
- 23:51Speaker 2: a little bit football, ye, even though we're still in
- 23:53Speaker 2: baseball season. But if we can pull up the first list,
- 23:57Speaker 2: it's like in right now, in the list, there's a
- 23:59Speaker 2: couple on you here that I'm not. Well, there's one
- 24:02Speaker 2: guy in here that I'm not one hundred percent sure
- 24:04Speaker 2: is in, but I think he's in, and I want
- 24:06Speaker 2: to get your guys opinion. I mean, Verlander check Surezer check,
- 24:10Speaker 2: Trout check, Freeman check, Butts check, Judge check, Altuve check,
- 24:15Speaker 2: Otani check.
- 24:17Speaker 1: The one guy that surprised me on this was Ronado.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Gosh and there.
- 24:22Speaker 2: He's new to this cheer, as it says, But I
- 24:24Speaker 2: didn't realize until you look at Nolan Arnado's numbers. He's
- 24:28Speaker 2: gonna get into the Hall of Fame. Might not be
- 24:30Speaker 2: first ballot, but he's definitely getting in. So now it
- 24:33Speaker 2: was like wow, when I saw this, I didn't realize it.
- 24:35Speaker 2: But the rest of these guys are pretty much locks
- 24:38Speaker 2: for me.
- 24:40Speaker 4: Todd, Yeah, I.
- 24:44Speaker 5: Want to say something, but I don't know the numbers
- 24:46Speaker 5: because I don't want to sound like an idiot. I
- 24:49Speaker 5: should have looked him up a little bit closely. But
- 24:51Speaker 5: I agree with you on everything. Now talk to me
- 24:54Speaker 5: about hose that Altuve here a little bit. I don't
- 24:57Speaker 5: think he's a definite in my opinion.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Three thousand he's gonna have three thousand hits he's gonna
- 25:04Speaker 2: got thready.
- 25:05Speaker 1: He did he want a m VP? I forget did
- 25:08Speaker 1: all too?
- 25:08Speaker 3: Yeah, seventeen he beat seventeen, he beat Judge And that's
- 25:12Speaker 3: what That's what Todd. Todd's a little but heard about
- 25:14Speaker 3: that now.
- 25:15Speaker 1: That's why Todd doesn't want to talk about it.
- 25:17Speaker 4: It's here are we talking? Seven?
- 25:21Speaker 5: Hey, listen, I can laugh about it now, you know
- 25:23Speaker 5: time as a but I'm still arked about it, Yeah
- 25:27Speaker 5: for sure. But you know, listen, it's in the past.
- 25:30Speaker 5: That's I mean, are some writers gonna think about that?
- 25:34Speaker 4: Maybe? Maybe? You know? I I mean, listen, some people
- 25:37Speaker 4: have talked about it.
- 25:38Speaker 5: How you know it's it was one of those years
- 25:43Speaker 5: where the dude knew what was coming. I mean, honestly,
- 25:45Speaker 5: a lot of the guys did so take away seventeen.
- 25:49Speaker 4: What do you guys think?
- 25:51Speaker 1: Yes? Yes, no, yes, because he's gonna get three thousand hits.
- 25:54Speaker 2: But anyways, in the League is presented by MLB Rivals
- 25:58Speaker 2: nine innings Rivals twenty six. Thank you, sorry about that.
- 26:01Speaker 2: I forgot I messed up my read before we got
- 26:03Speaker 2: into it. But Crossey, do you agree with this list.
- 26:05Speaker 1: That are all in?
- 26:07Speaker 3: I do agree with the list I heard it on
- 26:10Speaker 3: the telecast just the other day when Nolan got his
- 26:14Speaker 3: two thousandth hit, and I guess we're kind of shifting
- 26:20Speaker 3: the bar now. I get it. All the gold gloves,
- 26:23Speaker 3: the platinum, the fact that he has, the fact that
- 26:28Speaker 3: he has, I gotta go back to the list to you,
- 26:29Speaker 3: the fact he is two thousand hits. It's cool. He's
- 26:33Speaker 3: a ten time goal glover, six time platinum in the
- 26:37Speaker 3: history of the game. We're gonna we're watching, We're watching
- 26:40Speaker 3: Andrew Jones go in. Andrew Jones had four hundred and
- 26:44Speaker 3: thirty four homers and ten gold gloves, so I think
- 26:50Speaker 3: the other four outfielders with ten gold gloves or more.
- 26:53Speaker 3: It was like Willie Mays, Ken, Griffy Junior, Aaron Jones,
- 26:58Speaker 3: I mean, Andrew Jones and Mike It So when you
- 27:01Speaker 3: talk about ten gold gloves, in fact he had six platinum.
- 27:04Speaker 3: They didn't have platinum for all those older guys. But
- 27:08Speaker 3: I guess he's a Hall of Famer. The two thousand hits,
- 27:11Speaker 3: everybody's gonna want to hate on it, and he won't
- 27:13Speaker 3: get the votes because it's Colorado. As I'm watching the
- 27:17Speaker 3: Rockies haul kick a soccer ball around here. Yes, I
- 27:22Speaker 3: get it. I get that they're gonna hate on his numbers.
- 27:24Speaker 3: But man, three hundred and sixty seven home runs, I
- 27:32Speaker 3: don't care where you played. Three hundred and sixty seven
- 27:34Speaker 3: home runs is a lot. Two thousand hits is a lot.
- 27:37Speaker 3: And I think with the fact that it's two thousand
- 27:40Speaker 3: is a bigger number, and people are going to look
- 27:42Speaker 3: at it and go, Okay, we need to revisit anybody
- 27:45Speaker 3: that has two thousand hits. Aja, But well, I think
- 27:50Speaker 3: and you knew it, you honestly, you knew it, Aja.
- 27:53Speaker 3: You knew two thousand hits was a huge milestone in
- 27:56Speaker 3: your career.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Correct, Yeah, But it was different for me because I
- 27:59Speaker 2: was catcher, So that that was probably why it was
- 28:02Speaker 2: a bigger difference than because the position players honestly have
- 28:05Speaker 2: a better opportunity other than catchers to pack to load
- 28:09Speaker 2: up on the counting numbers, right, because you get to
- 28:11Speaker 2: play more, and especially in today's game where you only
- 28:14Speaker 2: have you know, catchers, Oh, you can only catch one
- 28:17Speaker 2: hundred games because he's gonna be so tired, right, So
- 28:20Speaker 2: that's why catchers, I don't know. We'll get to it
- 28:22Speaker 2: here later. Kratzy in different tiers because when we get
- 28:25Speaker 2: in Jason Starks, we get really weedy and we get
- 28:28Speaker 2: into like the deep weeds, like the knee deep weeds,
- 28:30Speaker 2: and that's where he has like a catcher's a catcher
- 28:33Speaker 2: centric category. We're gonna dig into this a little bit more,
- 28:35Speaker 2: but let's go while we have a chance. Let's go
- 28:37Speaker 2: to the next tier, and it's in the red zone
- 28:40Speaker 2: and across the fifty in the Bryce Harper's in for me,
- 28:43Speaker 2: Machado's gonna be in gold. I mean, these four to
- 28:45Speaker 2: me are in. I don't know what else these guys
- 28:47Speaker 2: can do. Chris Sales Cy Young World Series great numbers,
- 28:50Speaker 2: Bryce Harper's in with the m VPS. Pachado's numbers are
- 28:53Speaker 2: gonna put him in by the time because he's got like,
- 28:55Speaker 2: by the way, y' all forget man Nay Machado has
- 28:57Speaker 2: like ten more years left on his on his deal.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Means he's gonna keep playing, and he plays even though
- 29:03Speaker 2: he's not playing very well. But he's just going to
- 29:05Speaker 2: keep adding numbers. And to me, if you haven't looked
- 29:07Speaker 2: at Paul Goldschmit numbers, they're sneaky good. Okay, So look
- 29:11Speaker 2: at Paul Goldschman and say, I don't know if he's in.
- 29:13Speaker 2: He's going to get in, and then if you go
- 29:15Speaker 2: to the next one, which is what across the fifty,
- 29:17Speaker 2: to me, Jose Ramirez is going to get in one
- 29:20Speaker 2: one organization the whole time. And to me, Salvador Prez
- 29:23Speaker 2: is going to be in because of his home run Totals,
- 29:25Speaker 2: World Series, All Star Games, Gold Gloves. He's got to
- 29:27Speaker 2: he checks all the boxes, and again he should only
- 29:30Speaker 2: be with one organization his entire career.
- 29:32Speaker 1: The one on for me is Francisco Lindor.
- 29:36Speaker 2: I don't know if he's there yet. For me, he's
- 29:38Speaker 2: done a lot, but he hasn't won. He doesn't have
- 29:40Speaker 2: an MVP. He doesn't He's got All Star Games, he
- 29:42Speaker 2: got Gold Gloves and all that, but I think he's
- 29:45Speaker 2: got to do a couple more years. Do you guys
- 29:47Speaker 2: disagree with me, Kras Do you disagree that friend Frankie
- 29:50Speaker 2: has to do just a little bit more.
- 29:52Speaker 3: He does have to do a little bit more. We're
- 29:54Speaker 3: at seventeen hundred hits. We're at two eighty five on
- 29:58Speaker 3: Homer if that number is way higher than and I
- 30:00Speaker 3: thought two eighty five is impressive, Like that is a
- 30:03Speaker 3: big time number, the fact that he's got a Platinum Glove,
- 30:06Speaker 3: five All Stars for him to do it, he's gonna
- 30:09Speaker 3: get up in the seven to nine All Star range.
- 30:12Speaker 3: And I think Lindor's superpower as a player may hurt
- 30:17Speaker 3: him later in his career. Is the fact that he
- 30:20Speaker 3: is mister consistency. They call him mister smile, but he
- 30:23Speaker 3: is mister consistency. He is always his ops is always
- 30:27Speaker 3: at one twenty, his OPS plus I'm trying to look
- 30:31Speaker 3: here what it was for quite a few years. It's
- 30:33Speaker 3: like he is so consistent that I think he might
- 30:37Speaker 3: have a tough time getting votes without having the big numbers,
- 30:40Speaker 3: without having the three thousand or the twenty nine hundred
- 30:43Speaker 3: hits or the four hundred homers. I'm not saying he
- 30:46Speaker 3: can't make it. I'm saying he's never gonna People are
- 30:49Speaker 3: never gonna say got dude was one of the most
- 30:53Speaker 3: dominant players of his generation. Like I'm looking at MVP
- 30:57Speaker 3: voting twenty four with the Mets, he was set, that's
- 31:00Speaker 3: his highest MVP. Then he had a five, then he
- 31:04Speaker 3: had a six. He's been in the category, But is
- 31:08Speaker 3: he one of the top five most dominant players of
- 31:11Speaker 3: his generation to be getting those votes, and that's going
- 31:15Speaker 3: to be the part where I look at him and
- 31:17Speaker 3: I look at Bryce Harper. His two MVPs are going
- 31:22Speaker 3: to push him over. If you if you're trying to
- 31:24Speaker 3: compare Apple sapples, totally different players, different positions, all that stuff.
- 31:28Speaker 3: I just I just think it might be a little
- 31:30Speaker 3: bit tougher for Frankie without getting those big numbers together.
- 31:35Speaker 4: Todd thoughts, Yeah, yeah, no, I'm with I'm with both
- 31:38Speaker 4: of you guys on this.
- 31:39Speaker 5: I think a really really good ballplayer, I don't think
- 31:42Speaker 5: Hall of Fame worthy yet. Okay, all of a sudden
- 31:47Speaker 5: comes out and is healthy for a whole nother year
- 31:49Speaker 5: and just takes off. Hey, then we can start talking.
- 31:52Speaker 5: I'm not taking away from every anything from Lindor. I
- 31:55Speaker 5: think he's a fantastic ballplayer. But when I think a
- 31:58Speaker 5: Hall of Fame, I'm thinking of guys that are gonna
- 32:00Speaker 5: be my first pick when I'm doing something. When there
- 32:03Speaker 5: asking me who's your first pick at this position? You
- 32:06Speaker 5: know who's the guy that you fear the most. I'm
- 32:08Speaker 5: not saying I don't fear him, but not in the
- 32:10Speaker 5: top categories just yet.
- 32:12Speaker 2: All right, that's fair, agreed, agreed. All right, let's go
- 32:15Speaker 2: to the next Let's go to the next couple. Couple tiers,
- 32:18Speaker 2: moving the chains and drive stall. These are the where
- 32:20Speaker 2: it gets interesting for me because this is the ones
- 32:23Speaker 2: that are really on the bubble. And somebody's got like,
- 32:26Speaker 2: okay Wan Soto, he's gonna get in because he's gonna
- 32:28Speaker 2: have the numbers. He's gonna have the Kyle Schwarver is
- 32:31Speaker 2: gonna hit five hundred home runs. He's gonna get in.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Bobby Witt right now, for me, the way he's played,
- 32:37Speaker 2: if he stays healthy, he's going to get in. But
- 32:39Speaker 2: then you go to the middle as yord Don Alvarez
- 32:41Speaker 2: done enough, has Matt Olsen done enough? Trey Turner, he's
- 32:45Speaker 2: a real interesting one. And then if you go to
- 32:46Speaker 2: drive stall, and these are the guys who aren't having
- 32:48Speaker 2: a great year. I think Garrett Cole will eventually get in.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Vlad but then you go to Stanton, He's gonna hit
- 32:54Speaker 2: five hundred homers. Is the auto law right. Correa has
- 32:57Speaker 2: gotten hurt the last few years, Bregman Seeger. These guys
- 33:00Speaker 2: have heard of Kuna. If you take away the injuries,
- 33:02Speaker 2: these are the guys. This is where we could argue
- 33:05Speaker 2: back and forth on this. Is there one guy Todd
- 33:08Speaker 2: that you pick out and says, this is my argument
- 33:10Speaker 2: I want to make for or against them.
- 33:13Speaker 5: Yeah, Like, listen, this is where the rubber meets the
- 33:15Speaker 5: road here with Stanton, like his last couple of years
- 33:17Speaker 5: with injuries, is that's gonna stall him from not getting in?
- 33:21Speaker 5: Is he eventually going to get that five hundred home run?
- 33:24Speaker 5: I hope so, Yeah, I think he should. Yeah, just
- 33:26Speaker 5: staying healthy might be his biggest concern. I think that's
- 33:30Speaker 5: gonna be the tough one. I think there's an opportunity
- 33:32Speaker 5: for him to be in the Hall of Fame. Yes,
- 33:37Speaker 5: I don't see it in Alvarez, Olsen, and Turner like
- 33:39Speaker 5: you talked about. I think the drive stalled for most
- 33:43Speaker 5: of those guys really good ball players. But you and
- 33:47Speaker 5: me are right on the same page, Garrett call. I
- 33:48Speaker 5: think we'll eventually get in too. But I think one
- 33:51Speaker 5: hundred per Stanton is the one that I'm I'm really like,
- 33:57Speaker 5: this could go either way. I'm leaning more towards end,
- 34:00Speaker 5: But everybody else in that drive stall besides Cole, I
- 34:03Speaker 5: don't see.
- 34:03Speaker 1: It perfect perfect Cratsy. What about you?
- 34:06Speaker 2: Is there someone that stands out on these two lists
- 34:08Speaker 2: you want to fight for or against.
- 34:12Speaker 3: I mean, man, there's some players that has some really
- 34:14Speaker 3: really good seasons. It just depends, obviously how the end goes,
- 34:20Speaker 3: if you're gonna if you're gonna put your money on something.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Garrett Cole doing what Scherzer did, what Verlander did at
- 34:27Speaker 3: the end of their career. You rarely see that from
- 34:30Speaker 3: position players. So when I look at position players, when
- 34:33Speaker 3: I look at Yelly, he would have to just be
- 34:35Speaker 3: elite at you know, even after he's done the done
- 34:39Speaker 3: his contract with the Brewers, like, he would have to
- 34:42Speaker 3: really continue to put up numbers, and it's so much
- 34:45Speaker 3: tougher for position players. So that's who I would look at.
- 34:49Speaker 3: I don't think corn Burns is gonna have enough, have
- 34:52Speaker 3: enough time to do it. To me. The one on
- 34:55Speaker 3: this list, I'm gonna say, Jordan Alvarez. I don't know
- 34:59Speaker 3: how they're gonna look at Kyle Schwarber. The fact that
- 35:02Speaker 3: you know, if he gets to I think he needs
- 35:03Speaker 3: like thing he needs right at like one hundred and
- 35:08Speaker 3: forty homers, one hundred and twenty I forget how many
- 35:11Speaker 3: to get to five hundred. I think he'll do it.
- 35:13Speaker 3: In his time with the Phillies. In his five year contract,
- 35:16Speaker 3: he's got four more left. But Jordan Alvarez and I
- 35:19Speaker 3: have him higher on the list. I think he he
- 35:21Speaker 3: wins a triple crown this year he ends up winning
- 35:24Speaker 3: the MVP. I think that puts his numbers more in
- 35:28Speaker 3: the limelight for a lot of people to start looking
- 35:30Speaker 3: at it and go exactly what I talked about, Lindor,
- 35:33Speaker 3: this dude is one of the best hitters in the game.
- 35:36Speaker 3: I get it, the only dhs, But are we gonna
- 35:39Speaker 3: start getting more dhs in the game when you're talking
- 35:42Speaker 3: about a guy who does stuff that is elite nowadays,
- 35:47Speaker 3: a three hundred hitter who puts out thirty five plus
- 35:51Speaker 3: drives in one hundred and twenty. We don't see that now.
- 35:54Speaker 3: We don't see that in the game, And I think
- 35:57Speaker 3: that gives him the best shot out of that list
- 36:00Speaker 3: to guys that we're talking about here.

- 37:04Speaker 1: All right, that's fair, all right. Last one that we're
- 37:06Speaker 1: going to the corners.
- 37:07Speaker 2: These are kind of specific places and specific things right now. Again,
- 37:12Speaker 2: it just keeps getting harder and harder because these are
- 37:14Speaker 2: some names. Right We're gonna start Starter's Corner. Jacob de Grohm.
- 37:18Speaker 2: He's had great years when he's healthy. He's got the
- 37:21Speaker 2: Cy Youngs. Not a lot of wins, not a lot
- 37:23Speaker 2: of bulk, right, Zach Wheeler, to me, we can make
- 37:26Speaker 2: this argument in Paul Skemes has so much of his
- 37:29Speaker 2: career left. Yes, Trek Schoolboy is an interesting because he
- 37:32Speaker 2: was hurt, but he's had the great years. Miserowski's too
- 37:34Speaker 2: young to even get into this, right, it's too early.
- 37:38Speaker 1: Right.
- 37:38Speaker 2: But then the closers, Okay, Kenley Jansen should be in,
- 37:41Speaker 2: Chatman's gonna get in, Kimberll should get in if you
- 37:44Speaker 2: just look at bulk numbers. But then a rold As Chapman,
- 37:46Speaker 2: if you go with those three e rold As Chapman
- 37:48Speaker 2: should be in because he's had an unbelievable career, and
- 37:50Speaker 2: Edwin Diaz has to do more. For me Catchers, I
- 37:53Speaker 2: think all three of these guys have to do more
- 37:55Speaker 2: if we just look at bulk numbers and guys that
- 37:57Speaker 2: have gotten in. When a Buster Posey gets it, although
- 38:00Speaker 2: his numbers are going to be less, but he has
- 38:01Speaker 2: the MVP in the World series, right, I think these
- 38:04Speaker 2: three guys have work to do. Uh Krassy, any thoughts
- 38:07Speaker 2: on any of these specialized corners about.
- 38:10Speaker 3: Guys that we get in. We can't put Miseroski in
- 38:13Speaker 3: this list like, I'm sorry the mis like is that's unfair.
- 38:17Speaker 4: I get it.
- 38:17Speaker 3: It's you know, it's the big name and with schemes,
- 38:21Speaker 3: too much has to happen yet for us to even
- 38:24Speaker 3: talk about it. Could he absolutely, But to me, this
- 38:28Speaker 3: list is contingent on when and if Degram is done
- 38:35Speaker 3: after this year or next year. Whenever's Wheeler and de Grom.
- 38:38Speaker 3: They could both blaze a trail for each other. Ironic
- 38:42Speaker 3: they were teammates. And then you're gonna have to compare
- 38:45Speaker 3: their numbers. Wheeler, a guy who never was thought of
- 38:48Speaker 3: as dominant, never won the cy Young could have won
- 38:52Speaker 3: it three or four times, I think, I think three times.
- 38:56Speaker 3: But Jacob de Gram has won it. So if de
- 39:00Speaker 3: Gram gets in with the lesser numbers didn't stay healthy,
- 39:03Speaker 3: you would say, man, that dude was dominant when he
- 39:06Speaker 3: was out on the field. And if he moves the
- 39:08Speaker 3: goalpost for starters, I think eventually they would look at
- 39:12Speaker 3: the numbers of Zach Wheeler and go, yo, why is
- 39:17Speaker 3: de Gram in and not Wheeler? Type of thing?
- 39:19Speaker 1: I think the.
- 39:20Speaker 3: Closer argument and if you could say how many closers
- 39:23Speaker 3: are in are in the hall of fame right now,
- 39:26Speaker 3: in my mind, I can only think of three, and
- 39:30Speaker 3: you're talking about elite of the elite. It's Lee Smith,
- 39:34Speaker 3: Mario Rivera, and Trevor Hoffman. And to say there's three
- 39:39Speaker 3: from our generation, I think is conceited of our generation.
- 39:44Speaker 3: I think they're elite pitchers, But to say three of
- 39:47Speaker 3: them just based on history, I have a tough time.
- 39:51Speaker 3: I know we're in more of a closer's market now,
- 39:54Speaker 3: or closers game. I think they have. You know, we
- 39:58Speaker 3: had starter that were throwing so many innings, so it
- 40:01Speaker 3: will change, But I don't see how those guys stay out.
- 40:04Speaker 3: But I also don't see how our generation can get
- 40:08Speaker 3: three in when the history of baseball had only three.
- 40:14Speaker 4: I think there was a couple more there with.
- 40:18Speaker 5: Yeah, either way, I'm gonna be real brief here. If
- 40:23Speaker 5: you could put that screen back up, my computer's acting
- 40:26Speaker 5: up here for me.
- 40:29Speaker 4: Chapman's a definite, Kenlee Jansen definite. Everybody else.
- 40:34Speaker 5: I'm not sure it's the elite of the elite. If
- 40:36Speaker 5: the Grom gets in, Wheeler's got to get in. My opinion.
- 40:38Speaker 5: If Wheeler gets into, Grom's gotta get in. These two
- 40:41Speaker 5: were like twins when they played, So that was my
- 40:43Speaker 5: biggest thing. Skiing school boy Misowski still needs time to go.
- 40:48Speaker 5: If you're looking at the elite of the elite, the
- 40:50Speaker 5: three catchers, I don't think so as of right now.
- 40:55Speaker 5: But yeah, that's my take on those three.
- 40:59Speaker 1: All right, that's fair. We all have opinions.
- 41:01Speaker 2: And the thing is, closers I think are going to
- 41:03Speaker 2: start getting in more because people are realizing the value of.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Closers in today's gain.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Right, So there's no before it wasn't Oh you had
- 41:11Speaker 2: to be Goose Gossage and you had to be rolly
- 41:13Speaker 2: fingers and throw three inning saves. People are now realizing
- 41:15Speaker 2: how special it is to be able to pitch the
- 41:17Speaker 2: ninth inning.
- 41:18Speaker 1: And I think that's good.
- 41:19Speaker 3: So I don't know.
- 41:20Speaker 2: We can argue about this until the cows come home,
- 41:22Speaker 2: but instead now we get to argue with Katie wou
- 41:24Speaker 2: next from Dodgers Territory. I can't wait to hear her
- 41:26Speaker 2: tell us how good the Dodgers are. After In the
- 41:29Speaker 2: Weeds was presented by MLB nine Innings and Rivals twenty six.
- 41:33Speaker 2: You can meet some of the all time greats on there.
- 41:35Speaker 2: You can download MLB Rivals in your phone's app store
- 41:38Speaker 2: to get in on the action. The game now features
- 41:41Speaker 2: baseball legends from the National Baseball Hall of Fame, available
- 41:44Speaker 2: as brand new cards. We'll be right back after a
- 41:46Speaker 2: word from Bryce Harper. Oh my goodness, what did Harper
- 41:55Speaker 2: do to that chicken?
- 41:56Speaker 3: That is not how you draw it up? Nice.
- 41:59Speaker 1: Harper is on fire, you red velvet guy.
- 42:07Speaker 3: From the first stap to the last stout, MLB nine
- 42:13Speaker 3: innings rivals always greens Baseball to light.
- 42:22Speaker 1: Uh, this is near and dear to my heart.
- 42:24Speaker 2: Guys Fox one, I mean as a Fox employee, I
- 42:27Speaker 2: love Fox.
- 42:27Speaker 1: I love Fox one. So please get your seven day
- 42:30Speaker 1: free trial. We can.
- 42:31Speaker 2: We'll start with the Little Fellows game. Ken Rosenthal he
- 42:35Speaker 2: has the Dodgers and the Mets tomorrow. He mentioned the
- 42:37Speaker 2: pitching out matchup Yamamoto versus McClain. Mets are eleven games
- 42:41Speaker 2: out of a wildcard spot and they're talking about getting
- 42:44Speaker 2: rid of Freddy Peralta and Francisco Lindor Todd As our
- 42:47Speaker 2: resident met Ex player, are the Mets done?
- 42:52Speaker 1: And what do you think about this game tomorrow?
- 42:55Speaker 4: Yeah? I think, honestly, yeah I do. I do think
- 42:59Speaker 4: they're done.
- 42:59Speaker 5: I'm you never could say never, But the way the
- 43:02Speaker 5: things have been going, it's gonna be very hard for
- 43:05Speaker 5: them to get back to where they need to be.
- 43:09Speaker 5: I mean, they got really good pitching coming up today tomorrow.
- 43:12Speaker 5: I love Nolan MacLean. I gotta be honest with you.
- 43:14Speaker 5: I do love him. He does have a good opportunity
- 43:17Speaker 5: to be Rookie of the Year. But Sazaki and Yamamoto
- 43:21Speaker 5: back to back, and then tomorrow, oh wee wi Yamamoto.
- 43:24Speaker 5: It's it's gonna be It's gonna be hard. I mean,
- 43:27Speaker 5: it just seems like the Mets are behind the eight
- 43:29Speaker 5: ball every game they play, so very hard for them
- 43:32Speaker 5: to get back to.
- 43:33Speaker 4: Where they need to be.
- 43:34Speaker 5: Listen at the end of the day, and I'll say
- 43:36Speaker 5: this all the time, say to everybody, talk to you,
- 43:38Speaker 5: it's great for the Mets to be in the playoffs
- 43:40Speaker 5: in the Northeast. This would be great. I root for
- 43:42Speaker 5: them to be in the playoffs every year, but it's
- 43:46Speaker 5: just not the year.
- 43:47Speaker 4: It looks like.
- 43:48Speaker 1: That's fair, that's fair, that's interested all right.
- 43:50Speaker 3: Now.
- 43:51Speaker 2: The other game is the Mariners against the Rangers. I
- 43:56Speaker 2: can't I'm not I'm gonna go Kirk kurb Street. I'm
- 43:58Speaker 2: not gonna comment on this game because I have to
- 44:00Speaker 2: work it.
- 44:01Speaker 4: You know.
- 44:01Speaker 1: That's how That's how they get away with our college
- 44:03Speaker 1: game day.
- 44:04Speaker 3: Kirk Curve for you.
- 44:05Speaker 1: You know, it's the biggest game of the year with
- 44:06Speaker 1: Kirk you're calling it, so you can't talk about it.
- 44:08Speaker 1: So crap.
- 44:09Speaker 2: It is supposed to be WU first, Nasty Nay Deivaldi,
- 44:13Speaker 2: and then it's the Rangers are actually in first place,
- 44:15Speaker 2: which at fifty one and fifty one going into tonight,
- 44:18Speaker 2: they have a four game series. It's gonna be the
- 44:20Speaker 2: second game of a four game series. What are you
- 44:23Speaker 2: looking forward to in the Rangers and the Mariners.
- 44:26Speaker 3: Well, I love the fact that Fox is covering it
- 44:28Speaker 3: because I know you guys will do a great job. Sorry,
- 44:30Speaker 3: the music got a little louder, but I know you're
- 44:32Speaker 3: gonna do a great job covering this pillow fight. Reality
- 44:36Speaker 3: is we're watching two teams that, in my opinion, should
- 44:40Speaker 3: be better. I think the Mariners record should be better.
- 44:44Speaker 3: I think they haven't had guys step up where they
- 44:46Speaker 3: need to. I think they've had guys like you know,
- 44:49Speaker 3: it's inconceivable that Cal Rowley's doing what he's doing, and
- 44:53Speaker 3: they were leaning on that offense and he just hasn't
- 44:57Speaker 3: been able to do it, so maybe he starts capturing
- 44:59Speaker 3: it in this AO West matchup. But reality, like, let's
- 45:04Speaker 3: just call a spade a spade. We're one hundred plus
- 45:07Speaker 3: games into the season. Fox is covering a pillow fight.
- 45:11Speaker 3: Fortunately both teams are fighting with the same pillows for
- 45:14Speaker 3: the American League West, and one team could step up
- 45:17Speaker 3: here and take a quote stranglehold on this division through
- 45:24Speaker 3: this series. But reality is, it'll probably be a two
- 45:28Speaker 3: games split. Here'll be two and two, and we'll just
- 45:31Speaker 3: continue to do unless these teams make the adjustment that
- 45:34Speaker 3: I'm not even sure exactly which team needs to make
- 45:37Speaker 3: what adjustments.
- 45:39Speaker 1: True.
- 45:40Speaker 2: True, And by the way, every time I do a
- 45:42Speaker 2: Mariner's game, I want to call them the semen, and
- 45:44Speaker 2: I just get shot down by my Fox bosses.
- 45:46Speaker 1: I don't know why because Hawlck Carroll said that.
- 45:49Speaker 2: Because Hawk Harrelson once said when the Mariners were playing
- 45:53Speaker 2: the White Sox, the sacks are packed with semen, and he.
- 45:56Speaker 3: Got in trouble.
- 45:57Speaker 2: So I don't know why they won't allow me to
- 45:59Speaker 2: say that line, but thought it was a great line
- 46:00Speaker 2: from Hawk.
- 46:01Speaker 3: Now you got it out here, now you got it
- 46:03Speaker 3: out here Todd was on New Jersey. People hear it
- 46:06Speaker 3: and they'll be like, yo, I kind of like that
- 46:08Speaker 3: a j prosis. Yet I didn't like him when he
- 46:10Speaker 3: was a player, but yo, I kind of like him now.
- 46:14Speaker 2: Yeah, the bag was he when you say the sacks
- 46:16Speaker 2: are full of seamen or the sacks are packed with seemen.
- 46:18Speaker 4: It was.
- 46:19Speaker 1: He got in trouble for that one. But it's Hawk.
- 46:21Speaker 1: He could do Todd. You're around Hawk, you know he
- 46:23Speaker 1: could get away with whatever he wanted. So it was great,
- 46:26Speaker 1: great line.
- 46:27Speaker 2: I've asked every time I do a Mariners game, I
- 46:28Speaker 2: get shot down, So I gotta be careful with that one.
- 46:31Speaker 2: But anyways, tune in on Saturday Fox one. MLB on
- 46:33Speaker 2: Fox is streaming on Fox one. The Race October starts.
- 46:36Speaker 2: Now we have your front row seats to the wildest walkoffs,
- 46:40Speaker 2: lights out pitching, and clutch plays all season. Follow every
- 46:42Speaker 2: campus matchup as team's battle for a spot in the postseason.
- 46:45Speaker 2: Then stream the twenty twenty six World Series live on
- 46:48Speaker 2: Fox one at home, run the Go live or on demand.
- 46:51Speaker 2: Never miss a moment. Stream Now we'll be right back,
- 46:54Speaker 2: and hopefully we're not talking about pillow fights.
- 47:07Speaker 1: Oh we're back for slap fans.
- 47:09Speaker 2: I mean, we don't even do we even have to
- 47:10Speaker 2: ask about what hat crotches wearing today. I mean, Todd,
- 47:12Speaker 2: I won't even make these zero guesses to figure it out.
- 47:15Speaker 5: Plus here, yeah, I'm yeah, it has to be l
- 47:21Speaker 5: Brew Crew.
- 47:21Speaker 4: Go ahead, Cratzy.
- 47:23Speaker 3: Well, actually, I'm not gonna turn it around because I
- 47:25Speaker 3: sent the picture. I think Claude should have the picture.
- 47:28Speaker 3: If she has it, Uh, that would be the hat
- 47:31Speaker 3: that Yeah, so we'll go ahead and show the picture
- 47:34Speaker 3: of the hat that Shaugar sent to me because I
- 47:36Speaker 3: talked trash about him one time on the show. So
- 47:39Speaker 3: this is the hat that he said I was supposed
- 47:40Speaker 3: to wear for the show because he said I got
- 47:45Speaker 3: a bucket. I got a buck ahead, so it was
- 47:48Speaker 3: the only one that was gonna fit. So yeah, of
- 47:51Speaker 3: course that looks normal. How could I not wear? How
- 47:55Speaker 3: could I not wear the Brew Crew hat. I'm on
- 47:59Speaker 3: team whist Oats for the Legends game, so maybe I'll
- 48:04Speaker 3: get the the Wisco hat. I'm not even sure. I
- 48:08Speaker 3: don't know that I one hundred percent agree with the
- 48:10Speaker 3: Wisco name. Nobody really calls it Wisco. They said some
- 48:14Speaker 3: outsiders that weren't even from Wisconsin call it Whisco. So
- 48:19Speaker 3: either way, the park is starting to fill up. I'm
- 48:23Speaker 3: watching the Rockies take BP and I'm definitely going the
- 48:27Speaker 3: under on home runs. It's set ato point five, the
- 48:32Speaker 3: ball's not traveling, the roof's open. Something's gonna have to change.
- 48:35Speaker 3: But legends game, I'm taking the under old amount of
- 48:38Speaker 3: home runs for the whole game.
- 48:40Speaker 1: Crads.
- 48:41Speaker 2: Before we let you go, Todd, I got to ask
- 48:43Speaker 2: Kratzis there's two things. First of all, did Schager come
- 48:46Speaker 2: up to you and say do you know who I am?
- 48:48Speaker 2: Because he did that to me at the winter meetings
- 48:50Speaker 2: and I'm like, yes, I know who you are, so
- 48:51Speaker 2: don't have her ask me that again. He does it
- 48:53Speaker 2: every time he sees me. Now he comes he's an
- 48:55Speaker 2: equipment guy.
- 48:56Speaker 1: For the Brudge.
- 48:56Speaker 2: He's like, do you know who I am? I'm like, yes,
- 48:57Speaker 2: I know who you are, so stop bothering me.
- 48:59Speaker 3: You're weird.
- 49:00Speaker 1: And then, second of all, Krats, can you get Vasalo
- 49:04Speaker 1: or somebody in the Brewers organization to let you slide
- 49:08Speaker 1: down the slide and run in the sausage race.
- 49:14Speaker 3: Well, I don't want to run in the sausage race. Yes, so,
- 49:18Speaker 3: because the last time foul territory was allowed on the
- 49:20Speaker 3: sausage race, you cheated and he brought disgrace to the
- 49:24Speaker 3: sausage race and disgrace to the foul territory network. The slide.
- 49:29Speaker 3: I'm telling you, like, there's some things that are in
- 49:32Speaker 3: Milwaukee here that are great experiences. Sliding down the slide
- 49:36Speaker 3: was intimidating and so much fun. But it's also like
- 49:41Speaker 3: getting into Fort Knox like to be allowed to do
- 49:44Speaker 3: it. It might be easier now that I'm not a player.
- 49:47Speaker 3: I almost broke my ankle sliding all the way through.
- 49:50Speaker 3: It's a short landing spot and I hit the wall.
- 49:52Speaker 3: So I don't think I can do it, but I
- 49:54Speaker 3: will definitely ask somebody. But during the game, that's like
- 49:57Speaker 3: sacred ground. You can't. You can't just go up there.
- 50:00Speaker 2: Got during the game, after the game, before the game,
- 50:01Speaker 2: if you hit a home run in the alumni game,
- 50:03Speaker 2: when you're in second base, you should just run right
- 50:05Speaker 2: out there and climb up to Bernie Chalet and slide
- 50:08Speaker 2: down by yourself. But we cannot wait. We cannot wait
- 50:11Speaker 2: to hear about this. Next week, Scott's back sadly to
- 50:14Speaker 2: say no more players only show Scott's gonna tell us
- 50:17Speaker 2: about his tanning and his music listening.
- 50:19Speaker 1: We'll see everybody next week. Have a great weekend.
- 50:22Speaker 4: Crack.
