- 0:08Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another exciting episode of Two
- 0:12Shot Tuesday. And not just any episode,
- 0:14because if there's a man who likes to call out a holiday when
- 0:18we're recording, but is in the past when our audience is
- 0:21consuming, it's Barry T Nixon. Barry, what holiday are you
- 0:24calling out today? Well, if it's not obvious, I'll
- 0:28give you one more shot. Today is Saint Patrick's Day at
- 0:31the time of this record, Jay, a very important global holiday,
- 0:36if you will. It's only, I think, an actual
- 0:38day off in Ireland. It's, it's not a day off here in
- 0:40Canada. However, it is celebrated around
- 0:43the world, and with good reason. Yeah.
- 0:45Because we're celebrating the Irish, you know, with.
- 0:48We should fill in that reason. Yeah, the Irish, they've done a
- 0:51lot. I'm part of the Irish community.
- 0:53Are you part of the Irish community, Barry?
- 0:55In a manner of Speaking of my wife and she's half Irish.
- 0:59So I've, I guess you could say I've married into it.
- 1:02But you're married into it. My, my roots are all from the
- 1:04UK. As I told you before I did the
- 1:0623andMe and I'm 73% from that island.
- 1:09So what do you know? Got to be some Irish in there
- 1:11somewhere. Well, I've got some Irish in me
- 1:13as well, as, you know, it shows up right in my last name, Ryan.
- 1:17Does. The Hungarian half hides hides
- 1:20in the background, but the Irish part is on full display,
- 1:23especially on this day. I want us to do a shot.
- 1:26And then I want you to think back to maybe a fun Saint
- 1:31Patrick's Day that you had. And we'll start the show talking
- 1:33about that. All right, so let's let's
- 1:35consume what have you got for your first shot?
- 1:37As you know, we have a format on the show.
- 1:38Yeah, I'm over the moon excited. I couldn't help but share this
- 1:42with you mere moments ago. As you know, my local has been a
- 1:46desert for Jameson Black Barrel. Well my friend, that has ended
- 1:51today. I walked in and there was 3/3
- 1:54facings I think is how you call it.
- 1:57Yeah, facings of Black Barrel. I would just like, where am I is
- 2:01this is this heaven? I fell to my knees, Jay.
- 2:04I reached up. I grabbed a bottle.
- 2:05I hightailed it to the cash. And I even said to the guy at
- 2:08long last, look what's back. He's like, oh, you like this is
- 2:11like. Yeah.
- 2:12And I've been wanting it to be back here forever.
- 2:14Anyway, it's finally here. Jameson Black Barrel.
- 2:17What have you got? Fantastic.
- 2:18And I also, I stopped not at my local, but at the one that was
- 2:21down the street from my office on my way back from our morning
- 2:25meeting. Yeah.
- 2:25And I swung in there and I picked up one that's never at my
- 2:28but was certainly there. St.
- 2:30Kevin helping us ring in Saint Patrick's Day with a fresh
- 2:34bottle of Glendale. So there's to you.
- 2:36And our loyal audience, we love you on Saint Patrick's Day.
- 2:40Cheers. Happy week after.
- 2:45Oh, first time. The system's really had a shot
- 2:47of that in a while, isn't it? Oh, man.
- 2:49But you know what it remembers, Jay?
- 2:51The system remembers how good it was.
- 2:53It doesn't take long. You're right.
- 2:55Oh, my goodness gracious. Mine too.
- 2:58So before we got to get into our favorite Saint Patrick's Day, I
- 3:00think it's worth noting that Saint Patrick is credited with
- 3:04driving the snakes out of Ireland back in the 1600s.
- 3:09Now, do we know whether snakes existed on the island before his
- 3:12arrival? We don't know.
- 3:13You think we don't? Need to know just to clear them
- 3:15out. He might have.
- 3:16It might have been like that episode of Simpsons with the
- 3:18Whacking Day. Like a Charlotte?
- 3:20I don't know. Well, that's a either way to
- 3:22start. St.
- 3:23Patricks Day. He's pretty cool.
- 3:24Snakes to clear them out. Well, that's your interpretive,
- 3:28that's your surmise. I would say that it's kind of a
- 3:32cool story. He's also credited with bringing
- 3:35Christ to the island as well because prior to that time a lot
- 3:39of people who lived there were pagans, so he's credited with
- 3:42that as well. So he brought Christ, cleared
- 3:44the snakes. That's nice.
- 3:46Not bad, not bad. Tied things.
- 3:48They're huge. And the snake obviously is a big
- 3:50thing in the Bible. It was in the Garden of Eden
- 3:52according to legend, so it all ties up.
- 3:55It really does. I'm satisfied.
- 3:58If he would have had some revelation, because that's the
- 3:59snakes, Old Testament, Christ is New Testament, he could have got
- 4:02some revelation in there. Maybe he brought the rapture as
- 4:04well. Maybe at some point, maybe that
- 4:05was undocumented, we could have got some revelations.
- 4:08And my mom listening to this podcast right now, we'll be
- 4:11smiling because I know my Bible stories.
- 4:13Barry, let's talk about a fun Saint Patrick's Day.
- 4:16I think we might have talked about this on a past episode of
- 4:18the show, but I think not on our YouTube episodes.
- 4:21They haven't seen us talk about a fun Patrick's Day member,
- 4:24Saint Patrick's. Boy, well, we got, you have to
- 4:28kind of give me a second here for the hard drive to warm up
- 4:32because you know, there's been many of the thing about Saint
- 4:34Patrick's Day, as much fun as it is, often moments are missed and
- 4:38they're not missed because you weren't there.
- 4:40They're missed because you might have been stewed to the gills
- 4:43and we've all been there. But anyway, I would say maybe
- 4:47about 5 or 6 years ago, Linda and I went to the Steam Whistle
- 4:50Roundhouse and they have a truly legendary Saint Patrick's Day
- 4:53party. It's where it's like completely
- 4:56packed. The only downside for us now, I
- 4:58mean back then we loved it, but they're kind of only serve Steam
- 5:01Whistle beer, so you got to like Steam Whistle to go to the
- 5:03party. But when we went, we loved it
- 5:05and it was really a great time. People were dressed up, that
- 5:08there was a live band playing, you know, Irish traditional
- 5:11music was really great. I had a blast.
- 5:14Nice. Yeah, we've done that a couple
- 5:15of times, but not, like I said, not in really recent memory.
- 5:18What about you? Would that other one question,
- 5:20would that be happening this year like today, would that be?
- 5:23I think it's happening. It might have probably happened
- 5:24on the weekend. At the time of this recording,
- 5:26we're on our usual Tuesday schedule, so I think the party
- 5:29would have been on Saturday. Right.
- 5:30Mine goes back a long time. I was still living in my condo
- 5:34at the time and my friend Ryan and I went and we spent like a
- 5:37weekend or so in Fort Lauderdale.
- 5:40And so we went down there. But here's the thing, we flew
- 5:43back. This is back when I could do
- 5:44this. We flew back on Saint Patrick's
- 5:46Day, landed and I'm thinking of this day because it's so cold
- 5:50outside here in Toronto right now.
- 5:51We got an Arctic wind came in. Well, that Saint Patrick's Day
- 5:54was so warm. We were sitting.
- 5:56We found ourselves landed, got home, changed, came back out and
- 6:00met on a patio. I think it must have been a
- 6:02Saturday night and we enjoyed that.
- 6:04So that was our Saint Patrick's Day from Fort Lauderdale.
- 6:08A weekend of drinking or whatever weeks, whatever days it
- 6:10was landed, changed and we were on a patio on Saint Patrick's
- 6:14Day. You know, why couldn't I have
- 6:16known that Jason Riley, the guy who gets off an aircraft and
- 6:20goes immediately to a bar to continue his good times?
- 6:23Jay? I mean, I'm happy, but I'm also
- 6:25a little sad that I never knew that Jason Riley.
- 6:27Well, just it's. Not about me though.
- 6:29It's about the holiday. It's about the holiday.
- 6:31We enjoyed some time together this past weekend at the Wheat
- 6:34Chief, Toronto's oldest Tavern. Yeah, we.
- 6:36Sure did. It was also apparently was
- 6:38Saturday prior to Saint Patrick's Day, one of their most
- 6:41popular days. She was saying yeah.
- 6:43We were there on the Friday night.
- 6:44Yeah, exactly right. And she was teeing it up, saying
- 6:47Saturday was going to be the big night.
- 6:48But it was a kind of a big night Friday, too.
- 6:50As you may recall, we were asked to vacate the table that we had
- 6:54it occupied originally because of a reservation.
- 6:56But they bounced us to a high top.
- 6:58And I got to tell you, Jay, once you go to a high top, you can't
- 7:01go back. I like the high top.
- 7:03It's great. You got a beautiful view of the
- 7:05bar. It's perfect.
- 7:06The only issue for me, of course, is you know, when I
- 7:08first sat down was my chair was missing a place to hang put my
- 7:11legs. It was missing that little peg
- 7:13across the front to put my feet on.
- 7:15And so they were dangling. And I'm a tall man.
- 7:17I'm not used to have my feet dangling.
- 7:19Luckily I spotted it was a defect in the chair.
- 7:22We moved it around, we got a correct chair.
- 7:24And I'm glad I got that story out, because that's something
- 7:27that will likely light up the Internet.
- 7:29Yeah, Oh, for sure. And you did say, hey, can you
- 7:31pass from that chair? And I was just not moving.
- 7:33And so I I should have been more attentive.
- 7:36I should have helped you. I did hold your jacket, though,
- 7:38while you made the swap. So I feel like I contributed
- 7:40something. But you shouldn't have gone
- 7:43through all that asshole Jay. I really, I was just asking for
- 7:46a little help, but you did give a little, hey, a little.
- 7:49You've you've got a huge Saint Patrick's Day update in terms of
- 7:53your 4K universe. I'm setting you up.
- 7:56I'm setting you up so that you'll remember this.
- 7:57Thank you. Thank you.
- 7:58Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I just got, first of all,
- 8:00I've got to give a shout out to Rough Cut Video in Calgary, AB I
- 8:05think it's sort of a family run shop.
- 8:08That's the impression that I get anyway.
- 8:09It doesn't seem to be a chain. It's certainly not Amazon and we
- 8:13love those guys. I do.
- 8:15I've given them a good amount of business now and I that's sort
- 8:18of where I go now for for case, because they truly do have the
- 8:22best selection of the limited editions.
- 8:24They have no shortage of steel books.
- 8:26If that's what you like, that's what I like.
- 8:28That's what you like, Jay. Our preferred format.
- 8:31Our preferred format yeah and and all the arrow releases that
- 8:34have that are loaded with the non disk swag.
- 8:36You know I need that in my life. You do so I got.
- 8:39You need a booklet with them coming.
- 8:40Yeah, you need a booklet with type that's far too small for
- 8:44the human eye to. Yeah, it's it's essential.
- 8:46Tell me about the four that are coming from Rough Cut Video.
- 8:49What's that website again? Rough Cut.
- 8:51Dot com CA yeah, right, yeah.ca. So they're in Calgary, AB Check
- 8:56them out. Rough cut video.
- 8:58And man, like I said, I've had nothing but a good experience
- 9:01with them. Everything that I've ordered has
- 9:03always arrived nicely on time. No issues, no defects on the
- 9:07disks to report. Never had to return anything.
- 9:10As you know, Jay, I, I, you know, I'm kind of being your
- 9:13tester for some of your Seinfeld episodes and I'm happy to report
- 9:17I've not encountered anything. So thank you.
- 9:19Anyway. Before the four that I got #1
- 9:22Red Sonya. And you said this is going to be
- 9:25unwatchable. By the way, I read the, I read
- 9:27the review today. It came out.
- 9:29It's holding steady at 2 point out of five.
- 9:33This is the original red Sonya this.
- 9:34Is the original one with? Yeah, with Brigitte Nielsen from
- 9:371985. Good luck.
- 9:39So yeah, but did I mention the non disc swag?
- 9:42I know you're. Going to.
- 9:44Love it. Yeah.
- 9:46Salem's Locked is another one and you also said that's going
- 9:50to be a 7 hour slog I think so who knows.
- 9:53It includes the mini series as well as the theatrical version.
- 9:58I didn't know the fully restored will be Hooper, the guy who
- 10:02directed the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
- 10:03He did this. We did.
- 10:05I didn't know. Yeah.
- 10:06So I have high hopes. I don't remember seeing.
- 10:09I haven't seen it in years. Yeah, I wouldn't have high hopes
- 10:12but have some hopes. But I have some hope #3. #3
- 10:15Spaceballs that is. You can't go wrong.
- 10:19That's that has endless repeatability and again, stuffed
- 10:23with non disc swag. Jay, I need this.
- 10:27And the final thing again, this is another one that has endless
- 10:30repeatability, just like the first two I mentioned.
- 10:32Endless. The usual suspects.
- 10:34Endless for sure. Endless.
- 10:35That is it. Greater percent non disc swag
- 10:38with the usual suspects. A little bit it's the thinner
- 10:41release. You know, some of them are a
- 10:42little thicker, more book like, more biblical in you know the
- 10:47the heft of the packaging. This one is not so much.
- 10:49This one is more like your Spawn special edition.
- 10:52Very little in terms of maybe like a fold out poster, but.
- 10:55Which I think that's what I get here.
- 10:57Yeah, I'm happy with the fold out poster that'll never be
- 11:00folded out, but that's OK. Doesn't matter.
- 11:02It's nice to know it's there. It's nice to know it's there.
- 11:06You know what else is here? Yeah.
- 11:07Our second shot, All right, you just can team me up.
- 11:10You're throwing me lobs. This is the most fun episode
- 11:14we've ever done. OK, Jay, going back to the well
- 11:17with. I'm so happy that it's back.
- 11:20I can't even express. I'm choking on my own tongue
- 11:22here trying to trying to get it out.
- 11:24Yeah. Yeah.
- 11:25Jameson Black Barrel. Who you did it St.
- 11:28Kevin Glenda Locke. Happy Saint Patrick's Day to you
- 11:31and yours, Barry. Same to.
- 11:32You, Jay. Cheers.
- 11:33Cheers. Oh, my goodness.
- 11:37That is just. There's something real special
- 11:38going on there. That really is.
- 11:41Should we do? We do a Saint Patrick's Day
- 11:44ripped from the headlines. Yeah, if we have one, sure, of
- 11:47course we do. You send me, I don't know if
- 11:49it's Saint Patrick's Day, but you did send me some headlines.
- 11:51I'm going to, as usual, just scroll through them and pick one
- 11:55at random. Here's one.
- 11:57I think we're gonna both enjoy this one.
- 11:59OK, good. This.
- 12:00In our case, just happened this past weekend.
- 12:02Michael B Jordan marks Oscars win with In and Out Burger.
- 12:07I love this. Tell me.
- 12:07Yeah. Have you seen the video?
- 12:09I have seen the video circulating, yeah.
- 12:11Yeah, I saw still and I thought that was AI generated and then I
- 12:14you sent me the video. Yeah.
- 12:16And it was real. He did.
- 12:17What do you think of? That I think that's amazing.
- 12:20That is a true man of the people move to and he was still wearing
- 12:24like his probably Armani black tux.
- 12:27He like, he looked great, but he just went and he wanted an
- 12:30American cheeseburger. And having tried In and Out
- 12:33Burger, I can tell you that was definitely a good move.
- 12:36The place went crazy as well. And he was signing autographs
- 12:39for all the staff that worked there, and he was taking photos.
- 12:43Yeah. And then he sat there at a booth
- 12:44by himself. Well, not by himself.
- 12:46He was surrounded by people, but it was like him at the booth.
- 12:49He had his burger and he had his statue on the table.
- 12:51And I was like, fuck, that's really cool, man.
- 12:53Like my respect for him has gone up even more that he would think
- 12:56to. Now.
- 12:57He's not the first person to get a burger after an Academy Award.
- 13:01Hilary Swank did it, but she didn't do it within and out.
- 13:03I was reading a little bit about this today.
- 13:05She did it when she won $4 million, baby.
- 13:06But she went to another burger place.
- 13:08OK, doesn't matter. It's still pretty cool.
- 13:10But this is the first time in a while that, you know, like the
- 13:15winner of the best actor category decided to pop into in
- 13:18and out with, you know, fresh from the show and to get a
- 13:23online. I read.
- 13:23I don't know whether this is true.
- 13:25He got himself a triple burger and I have even more respect for
- 13:28that if that's what he ended up getting.
- 13:30I could totally disagree. He's a big guy, he's working out
- 13:33all the time. Absolutely.
- 13:35So I thought that was super cool.
- 13:37I still have not been to an in and out, even though in Phoenix
- 13:40we drove right past and in and out and our Uber driver, she
- 13:44told us as she was driving us from the airport to the hotel,
- 13:47she said The number of people that ask for an in and out stop
- 13:50from the airport, she said I can't even count it.
- 13:53It's such a big thing when you go to the southwestern portion
- 13:57of the United. States and to which you didn't
- 14:00pick up on that and say can you bring us there right now please?
- 14:03I was excited to get to the hotel.
- 14:06Jay. I'm sorry I didn't do it, but my
- 14:08brother Jordan did it for all of us.
- 14:10He did all right. One more, one more, and then
- 14:13we're going to wrap. All right, let's do this one
- 14:15here. An end to hay fever.
- 14:18The new wave of effective cures for seasonal allergies,
- 14:22important as we get to spring Berry.
- 14:23Absolutely. And I suffer from allergies, as
- 14:25you know, during the month of May.
- 14:26I don't know whether that's true, though.
- 14:28I hope it is. Hope it's not fake news because
- 14:30I would love it if one day I, you know I could be off reacting
- 14:34for the entire month of May. You don't have any allergies
- 14:36though yourself, do you? I.
- 14:37Totally do. I used to have hay fever bad as
- 14:40a kid. I used to like be rubbing my
- 14:41eyes. They'd stick closed like it was
- 14:44terrible. It was a.
- 14:45Kid. As a kid and then it got better
- 14:48and then it got worse again as I got as I'm getting older so I
- 14:51but I carry on maybe a little bit longer, but much more mild
- 14:55than you like you're I can't even talk to you.
- 14:57I can't even look at you in the no like I just.
- 14:59Want a little test? It's disgusting.
- 15:01I'm pussing and it's just, it's not good.
- 15:03It's not. This is the first year, it's the
- 15:06first year that you're going to be featured on YouTube for the
- 15:08month of May. So you're going to want to get
- 15:09yourself some React and Plus or something because.
- 15:12An eye patch. An eye patch for sure.
- 15:14Two eye patches maybe like like a sleep mask.
- 15:16You should probably be a great. Idea.
- 15:18I have one. That's what I want you to wear
- 15:20for the month of May. Just wear a sleep mask.
- 15:23We won't even address it. We'll just we pretend like it's
- 15:25not even. Happening.
- 15:26Yeah, he's just visually impaired.
- 15:28Deal with. It now because of the sleep
- 15:30mask. Why doesn't he take the mask
- 15:32off? Really could, but that's just
- 15:34too logical. Yeah, anyway.
- 15:36Barry, how would you rate our Saint Patrick's Day?
- 15:39I'm having a great time. I don't know about you, I I feel
- 15:41like you are having fun, but it is a little bit like herding
- 15:44cats and you're like. I am bringing you along.
- 15:48Yeah, you are. I do feel that.
- 15:49You feel it. You do?
- 15:50Yeah. I feel it because I feel like
- 15:52I'm perhaps a little further down the road of the drunkenness
- 15:55than you are. So really.
- 15:56You've been here. For the show, I appreciate
- 15:58everything that you do, Jay, and thanks.
- 16:00Now I know. I appreciate Saint Patrick's
- 16:03Day. Yeah.
- 16:03Yeah, I know. After we hung out on Friday.
- 16:05I mean, just before you got in the cab, I told you I loved you.
- 16:08And then what did you do? You just started laughing.
- 16:10I did. Just just laughed your ass off
- 16:12and walked away. Said nothing.
- 16:13I was like, that is Jay and that's straight out of a movie.
- 16:16By the way. He's not calling again.
- 16:19But. That's what that is.
- 16:20By the way, we have a short that talks about you talking about
- 16:24love and the need for love in 2026 that has been viewed over
- 16:277000 times. This is our most popular short.
- 16:30I encourage you to check out our channel If you're watching this
- 16:32episode, go to the two Shot Tuesday channel.
- 16:34Scroll down to shorts. This one's been watched 7000
- 16:37times, Barry, which is a lot for you and I like it's a lot.
- 16:41Keep it. Also, doesn't that speak to
- 16:43people needing love, Jay? It's obviously a hot topic.
- 16:47Obviously, and I think you are going to be the guru of love for
- 16:50the rest of 2026. That's a lot to live up to, it
- 16:53really is. I'll do my best.
- 16:54All right, well, bring us home. Bring us home on this episode
