- 0:37Chris Baroche. When spring flowers bloom and grass starts to grow,
- 0:44and the warm sun has melted the old winter snow,
- 0:47Passover is on its way when we see from the
- 0:52window a robin or wren and squirrels play high up
- 0:56in the trees once again. Passover is on is when
- 1:01everyone scurries from room to room with a bucket and
- 1:05mop or a long handled broom. Passover is on its
- 1:09way when all of the windows and floors start to shine,
- 1:15and our whole house smells clean and looks extra fine.
- 1:19Passover is on its way when our fanciest dishes come
- 1:24out of the drawer and Elijah's cup sparkles like diamonds galore.
- 1:29Passover is on its way when Our house smells of
- 1:35coogle and sweet motzo cake and cinnamon for the carol
- 1:40set will make. Passover is on its way. When the
- 1:44sun's getting low and the doorbell stops ringing and everyone's
- 1:49ready for stories and singing, when the satyr is ready
- 1:53and candles are lit and Nina's showing everyone just where
- 1:57to sit, pass is here here. Our next book is
- 2:05titled My First Passover and it was published by Godwin
- 2:11Books Henry Houghton Company, reister trademark of McMillan Publishing Group.
- 2:19It has a copyright ear of twenty twenty six. The
- 2:22author is Karen Katz. Passover, Hooray, Hooray. Passover is about
- 2:29to begin. Every spring, we remember how our Jewish ancestors
- 2:33left slavery in Egypt and were led to freedom. Mommy
- 2:37and I set the table with special plays in our
- 2:39best tablecloth. Satyr. Here come Grandma and Grandpa. We gather
- 2:45with friends and family, share special meal, drink wine, say
- 2:49prayers and sing songs we called the Satyr that means
- 2:54order ky dish. First, Mommy lights the candles and says
- 2:58a blessing. Then we begin the satyr with the first
- 3:02prayer of kadush. Everyone drinks a sip of wine. I
- 3:05get to drink grape juice. Her cuts. Grandma washes her
- 3:11hands just like the priest did three thousand years ago.
- 3:14We all have a Hagadab, the book that tells the
- 3:17passover story. Everyone will take a turn reading. Grandpa al
- 3:22goes first. Carpus. We take the green parsley and dip
- 3:28it in the saltwater. This reminds us of the tears
- 3:31the Jews shed when they were slaves in Egypt. Carpus
- 3:37or parsley or other vegetable yachts. There are three mantus's
- 3:44on the table is spread made with only flour and water.
- 3:48That is why it is so flat. Daddy breaks one
- 3:51of them in half. He will hide the larger piece
- 3:53somewhere in the house. Later all the children will look
- 3:57for it. If you find it, you get a dollar magged.
- 4:02Now it's time for my special part. I get to
- 4:04read the four questions from the Haggadah because I am
- 4:09the youngest. This is my first year doing it. The
- 4:12first question is why is this night different from all
- 4:15other nights? It is different because once we were slaves,
- 4:19but now we are free, and we remember the story.
- 4:23A long time ago, there was a wicked Pharaoh. He
- 4:26wanted to keep all the Jews slaves. God chose a
- 4:29great man named Moses to lead the Jewish people to freedom.
- 4:34Moses repeatedly went to Pharaoh and demanded, let my people go,
- 4:39but Pharaoh said no, again and again. Each time. A
- 4:43terrible plague was sent down on the Egymptis. Water turned
- 4:49to blood. Frogs leaped into their beds, Lies crawled in
- 4:52their hair, Flies swarmed all around, Livestock became sick, boils
- 4:57covered their skin. Hall rained it, Locus jumped everywhere. Darkness descended,
- 5:03and firstborn sons were struck down. At last, Pharaoh said
- 5:09the Jews could go, But as they were running, Pharaoh
- 5:13changed his mind. Oh no, He sent the army after them.
- 5:16When the Jews got to the Red Sea, there was
- 5:19a miracle. Moses part of the waters and they escaped
- 5:22to freedom. Just as the Egyptian army stormed into the sea,
- 5:26it closed up on them and they all drowned. We
- 5:29all seen, Daniel, it would have been enough. Chakan LaRue.
- 5:36We come to the end of the story. Now we
- 5:38wash our hands, bless the monsta, and eat a sandwich
- 5:42of Monza and charl sit. At last, it is time
- 5:46to eat. Everyone has brought something to share. We have fish,
- 5:51roasted chicken, monza, ball, soup, potato google and noodle pudding. Yum.
- 6:01The fun. Now it's time to look for the broken matsa.
- 6:05My sister Elena found it the af comen. She gets
- 6:09a dollar from Grandpa out We all get to break
- 6:13off a little piece of it and taste it the rooke.
- 6:20My friend Ashley opens the door for the prophet Elijah
- 6:23to come visit. Everyone sing songs. We all raise our
- 6:27glasses and wish for freedom for everyone in the world.
- 6:30Happy pass Over. Our next set of stories are about Easter,
- 6:37and the first one is titled The Story of the
- 6:39Easter Bunny. It was published by Harper Collins Publishers as
- 6:44a copyright year of two thousand and five and the
- 6:47author is Catherine Tagan. On a snowcode day, in a
- 6:52snug little house, a round old couple we're making Easter eggs.
- 6:59The round man blew the insights out. The round old
- 7:02woman painted designs on some of the eggs. The rest
- 7:05they died in glass cups while their little rabbit watched.
- 7:09There were eggs, the color of daffodils and soft new leaves,
- 7:13and of robin's eggs, and of violets. On the day
- 7:17when the winter wind blew outside, the round old couple
- 7:20made baskets out of straw. They wove and twisted and
- 7:24braided the straw together, while their little rabbit watched. On
- 7:29an early spring day, when the snow was melting and
- 7:31water trickled down the eaves, the round old couple made
- 7:35chocolate eggs. The round old woman melted the chocolate and
- 7:38the sugar and the butter on the stove. The round
- 7:42old man poured the chocolate into tiny moats, and their
- 7:45little rabbit watched. One day, when the sky was blue
- 7:49and the church bells rang and the world seemed new,
- 7:53everyone in the village said Happy Easter. The round old
- 7:57couple brought every child a straw basket filled with the
- 7:59Easter eggs, as they did every year, and their little
- 8:04rabbit watched. A year when buying Easter came again, the
- 8:08straw baskets were on the table, the Easter eggs were
- 8:11in a big bow, the chocolate eggs were carefully wrapped
- 8:14and fell, and the round old couple were fast asleep
- 8:18but there was still work to be done. The little
- 8:22rabbit twitched his nose. Then he hopped up on the
- 8:24table and put the eggs into the basket. It was magic.
- 8:30The little rabbit scooped up the baskets and hopped down
- 8:32the lane. He left one for every child in the village.
- 8:36He didn't think anyone saw him. The next year, the
- 8:39little rabbit colored the eggs and cooked the chocolate, and
- 8:42wove the baskets and delivered them on Easter morning. The
- 8:47little rabbit made more baskets every year. The round old
- 8:50couple helped him. The little rabbit hopped all over the countryside,
- 8:55and the children knew the Easter bunny came year. The
- 9:00round old couple could not help the little rabbit anymore.
- 9:04They were so very, very old, and the rabbit knew
- 9:06he could not stay in their snug little house anymore.
- 9:10Too many children were discovering his secrets. So the little
- 9:14rabbit found the perfect place to make his baskets, in
- 9:17a shadow filled wood nearby, Only a rabbit could find
- 9:21the entrance. The rabbit set up one room for making
- 9:25chocolate eggs, one room for coloring eggs, and one room
- 9:29for weaving baskets. The little rabbit's friends came to help him.
- 9:33Now every year, on Easter morning, when the sky is
- 9:36blue and the church bells ring and the world seems new,
- 9:40the Easter Bunny delivers his baskets. Perhaps he has left
- 9:44one for you. Happy Easter. Our next book is titled

- 12:36hid the eggs. Pikaboo says squirrel, What are you doing
- 12:42down here? Fox? Nothing much, replies Fox. Paus off, Fox,
- 12:48says squirrel. Fox turns away from the tree and runs
- 12:51off to find Bunny. Around the corner, Bunny is hiding
- 12:55the final easttrag Pickkaboo says Fox, what are you I'm doing? Bunny,
- 13:01I am hiding eggs for an Easter egg hunt for chick,
- 13:04replies Bunny. Fox watches Bunny hiding the last egg. When
