  I am absurdly heroic pilled. I only am missing a belt from

  all of my gear, so I'm I guess everyone else has all full

  heroic gears. Maybe not that heroic pill,

  maybe I'm actually just a scrub, but that's OK.

  We're having a good time. I am so ready to get into Mythic
• 1:21
  Plus, and I know I have to wait another week for that, but I'm

  so ready. When it comes, it's going to be

  incredible. And I'm bopping, I'm bopping,

  I'm vibing, I'm living my dreams.

  Sean, same question to you. What have you been doing in the

  World of Warcraft? How are things?

  Well Manny, since last week I have been doing a lot of
• 1:47
  professions, a lot of world quests, a lot of world events.

  I got my beam out, I have been having a good time and today I
• 1:57
  get to watch a video that made my heart sing.

  Manny, it made my heart sing. OK, that could be one of many
• 2:08
  videos that came out today. Strangely enough, I I got to ask
• 2:13
  Sean, you do the profession stuff as have you been gearing
• 2:17
  up in, in terms of like getting ready for next week or you still
• 2:22
  fairly casual about your play right now?
• 2:27
  I mean, I've been 580 geared since the second day that
• 2:32
  heroics were available, so so. Fairly casual for you.
• 2:36
  Fairly casual I guess. Yeah, No, I'm we're in pre
• 2:41
  season right now, so right now my character is as geared as he
• 2:45
  you know, could be I have some stuff to drop to push him up to
• 2:48
  close to 590 with the crafting 'cause you can craft 590 gear if
• 2:54
  you 5 star it. It's a little bit expensive, but
• 2:56
  it's a good boost up or you can use your crests and your valor
• 3:00
  stones to get 593. It's Crest efficient to buy the
• 3:05
  gear because it's only 30 crests to craft it as opposed to 45 to
• 3:10
  level it from 571. But if you're talking the valor
• 3:13
  gear or the other renowned gear, then it's better to craft to to
• 3:17
  upgrade it because it's only 30 crests and you don't have to
• 3:20
  spend the gold. So that being said, yeah, I'm
• 3:23
  all set to go. We, our raid leader is amazing.
• 3:26
  She broke down all of the professions for the raid team.
• 3:29
  This was entirely volunteer base.
• 3:30
  So people, she asked if you want to get assigned a task for your
• 3:35
  chosen profession. We'll break them down so that we
• 3:37
  can make sure that we can Max rank every item we might need
• 3:41
  for week 1 of the raid. I think our whole raid team
• 3:44
  signed up for it, including people with multiple alts, and
• 3:48
  everybody was assigned a different branch of a tree to
• 3:51
  Max out. And I think definitely by raid
• 3:55
  launch we will have all of them done.
• 3:57
  And I think we actually have, in most cases, most of most things
• 4:01
  available right now to Max rank in our Guild.
• 4:04
  We're on a small server, so it's important that we maximize our
• 4:07
  crafting ability because we can't cross server crafting
• 4:11
  order yet. So I was assigned, I have two
• 4:15
  alts that are blood elves that are enchanters.
• 4:17
  I was assigned a Rathi rings and armor, and then my other blood
• 4:22
  elf was assigned Nerubian, just rings and they're both maxed
• 4:25
  out. I can three star all of those
• 4:27
  enchants and I have all of the recipes thanks to a friend for
• 4:32
  those enchants as well. So I am as ready to go as I am.
• 4:36
  It's now it's just like maintenance mode for
• 4:37
  professions. Throwing some points in the old
• 4:40
  ingenuity box. And yeah, anyway, I feel like
• 4:43
  there was a long answer to say I'm excited for the raid and I'm
• 4:46
  all set. So with all that done or like,
• 4:50
  do you feel like this preseason has been too long for you?

  Would you have rather like gone into the raid starting Heroic
• 5:00
  week this week? Because of the exact position
• 5:06
  I'm currently in in my life, I think it is perfect.

  We're renovating our kitchen. There's some other things going
• 5:14
  on that I can't talk about. And yeah, it's been a a busy
• 5:20
  summer. So right now for me, it's
• 5:24
  perfect that, you know, six months from now, ask me again,
• 5:29
  I'll probably want a week less. Six months ago, ask me, I
• 5:32
  probably want a week less. But right now, in this moment,
• 5:35
  the two weeks is beautiful and I love it.

  And I think it's, it's really important to have that two weeks
• 5:39
  at the start of the expansion. I'm gonna sound just like Ian
• 5:42
  has Acosta's here 'cause this is the reason they gave the start
• 5:45
  of the expansion. There's so much to do, so much
• 5:46
  to see. You have professions to do,
• 5:49
  story quests to go through, local stories to go through.
• 5:53
  You're learning a new rotation, you're trying out your
• 5:55
  character, you're leveling characters, which takes up time.
• 5:58
  And you really want to immerse yourself with that and you don't
• 5:59
  want to feel rushed with that. And so that is why having the
• 6:02
  heroic week makes so much sense at the start of an expansion.
• 6:08
  As they have stated, going into 10.1, sorry, 11.111 point 2,
• 6:13
  there will not be a heroic week, but I don't think we need one.
• 6:15
  Then we get a few chapters open up of the quest that are that
• 6:19
  don't take as long to do as full zone quests.
• 6:21
  We'll have some new dungeons and a new raid, but you won't be
• 6:25
  learning a full new tier. You're not going to be fully
• 6:27
  gearing up from just from scratch.
• 6:28
  You'll be gearing. You'll be starting off at
• 6:30
  whatever platform you start off at.
• 6:32
  You know, like if you're a heroic raid, you'll be going in
• 6:34
  heroic raid geared probably higher because of Mythic Plus.
• 6:37
  So you're gonna be already above where you are now.
• 6:39
  So you don't need it. But it does feel real nice in
• 6:43
  this moment. Lex, in your playthrough, are
• 6:49
  you liking where you're at right now?

  Have you been enjoying the fact that it's like, hey, you haven't

  had to dive into like Mythic Zeros or Mythic Mythic Plus and

  you've been able to like get these dungeons under your belt

  and heroic because you've been hitting it pretty hard?

  How has it been for you in terms of like this week and this

  timing? So I am actually a little bit of

  an odd one out. I asked this on the discord too

  how people were feeling about heroic week and it was pretty

  universally. Everyone's like, this is

  incredible, this is so great. I love that I'm able to do the

  story. I love that I'm able to relax.

  I am bored. And I know that like that is
• 7:23
  like, as we always say, not everything in an MO is for
• 7:27
  everyone. And it also is very funny

  because if this had been any other expansion when I was doing
• 7:34
  my Holy Priest, I would be like, Nope.

  I like I was always the one complaining that I was so
• 7:38
  stressed and I never had time to play through things.
• 7:41
  And everyone is like go, go, go, go, go.
• 7:42
  And it was always push. And you know, when I wanted to
• 7:44
  play through the story was when everyone else is going, going as
• 7:47
  fast as they could. The fact that I'm really
• 7:49
  enjoying Demon Hunter on in heroics and in dungeons in a way
• 7:53
  that I'm not used to enjoying playing the game, I think has
• 7:56
  meant that I am just chomping at the bit to do higher level
• 8:00
  content. I really want to get into mythic
• 8:01
  plots. I want to feel how that feels.
• 8:04
  I want to do higher level delves.
• 8:05
  I've wanted to do higher level delves since day one, honestly.
• 8:08
  Like I just want to see how far I can get those up.
• 8:12
  And so personally, I am feeling a little frustrated that we are
• 8:18
  not able to do anything else. Now the other thing that I'm
• 8:23
  feeling, I do not like that they are opening raid the same week
• 8:29
  they're opening Mythic plus. And also the same week they're
• 8:31
  increasing heroic gear that we were like when we were planning
• 8:36
  item level and thing. I don't know if that's usually
• 8:38
  what happens. Maybe I just missed it.
• 8:40
  Maybe it like I I feel like there's usually a period of time
• 8:43
  that you can do mythics and kind of start gearing up and then get
• 8:45
  into raid. So go.

  Crazy Sean. Can I just clarify for you so

  it's accurate info? Normally in this period of time

  we would have access to mythic zero.

  We don't because of the scaling changed.

  Mythic plus does not open the same week as the raid.

  Next week is when the raid opens.

  Mythic plus doesn't open until the mythic raid opens the week

  You have just mythic 0 next week.

  Oh, Mythic 0 is on a different lockout than it used to be.

  Used to be mythic zeros where you could do it once in the

  week. In previous expansions we've had
• 9:24
  multiple weeks where Mythic 0 was available but none of the
• 9:29
  other stuff was. And then there would be a week
• 9:30
  where Mythic Plus would be available, but the loot would
• 9:34
  cap out earlier than normal. And then when Mythic, the mythic
• 9:39
  raid opened up, then Mythic Plus would become uncapped.

  So this is slightly different again, because they've made
• 9:45
  those changes to the, the keystone system, Mythic plus
• 9:50
  really starting at what we used to know as a, as A10 Plus.

  So what they've done is said, OK, you know what Mythic zeros
• 9:55
  are available. You can do that during the
• 9:58
  heroic week, and then Mythic Plus is now kind of a cleaner
• 10:02
  break of like it's open and everybody gets to go out at the
• 10:06
  exact same time. There is no cap on gear, but
• 10:08
  it's opening a week later than we would normally see it.

  I really because mythics pluses were never my thing.

  I think I just like I just did whatever my team was like, hey,

  we're all doing this. I'm like, I guess I have to if I

  not paying attention to any of that.

  Yeah, I am not in love with that.

  I think also as a Raider, it stresses me out like to not be

  able to be, you know, like when we were trying to set gear

  levels and stuff for the first week of rating, we actually we

  started at 580 because we're like, oh, that's LFR wing one.

  And like like I think we based that off of heroic dungeons.

  We didn't do enough reading and we didn't realize that the
• 10:53
  heroic level changed between pre between heroic weekend raid
• 10:58
  opening. So we had to do a whole walk

  back. We're like, we're actually doing
• 11:01
  71571. But also just come with whatever
• 11:05
  you have. It's OK.

  We're all having fun. We don't expect you to be, you

  know, grinding right now. I say as I'm, you know, queuing

  for my random dungeons every two seconds, like I want to go

  So I'm hoarding. So first of all, I'm sweaty for

  me, which is like I play two to three hours a day ish, right?

  So I know that's not sweaty for most people.

  This is like no. No, no, sorry, sorry, sorry.

  I'll, I'll stop you there. Like sweaty for most people is

  such a weird term because you do a podcast about this game you

  play 3 hours a day that is by default above what I what, like

  the median, the average regardless, right.

  So a lot of people are probably going to be like, but she's

  supposed to be the casual 1. You were supposed to be one of
• 12:08
  us, not turn against us from that alone, Lex.

  Play Demon Hunter. Play Demon Hunter, you'll get

  it, you'll understand. It's so fun.

  You go everywhere, you're just and then and then you do your
• 12:19
  i-beam and like there's your entire screen is just numbers

  like just I don't, I don't know if they're good numbers, but
• 12:24
  they're just all going up and it's amazing.

  And then your tank is like I'm only going to pull like 1 pack
• 12:28
  of trash and I'm like no pull more.

  I need bumper numbers. I know that my numbers fall off

  after 5, but I don't care. I want them all pulled.

  This is beautiful. This is this is beautiful that

  this is like where you're at and like I feel like you found your

  home in Demon Hunter. It's like this is this is the

  enthusiasm that like I have when I'm just like, yeah, like let me

  go in. I don't care.

  Pull everything. Let's do the big, big pulls.

  This is when Sean's just like, yeah, I don't have a fail say so

  I'm just pull everything and get it done.

  Like this is this is it? It's I what I'm realizing is I

  really love raid healing, right? I, I don't want it to seem like

  I did not actually enjoy my time healing.

  I loved raid healing. I hated, I hated shadow.

  So I hated leveling. I mean, I did like I didn't hate

  leveling, but like, you know, it was more of a like, I guess I

  have to do this thing to play the story and, and to go through

  this dungeon healing stressed me out.

  I hate being the only healer because then everything is my
• 13:28
  fault. I like I was in my zone when I
• 13:32
  was raid healing and everything else was like things that I have
• 13:36
  to do so I can get to raid healing.

  Demon Hunter is the first time that I exactly, exactly.

  Demon Hunter is the first time that I feel like everything I do
• 13:46
  is so fun, right? I'm having so much fun
• 13:48
  questioning. I'm having so much fun doing
• 13:50
  dungeons. I'm actually a little bit
• 13:52
  nervous that I'm going to not like raiding as much as I'm used
• 13:55
  to, because one of the things I like about Demon Hunter is how
• 13:57
  fast it is. And like, raids are much more of
• 14:01
  like you do the trash, but then you stop and you think and you
• 14:03
  work and you figure it out. So we'll see where I land on
• 14:07
  that. But I mean, I think I'm going to
• 14:09
  still have a good time, right? Like Demon Hunter is just fun.
• 14:10
  You backflip away from your enemies and it hurts them and
• 14:13
  then you zoom back in and it hurts them again.

  It's so. Cool.

  And this show is officially called Zoom.

  I'm so glad I picked that title. I just.

  This was like thinking. And Zoom, there's no chance.

  I'm not talking about it. No, because it's it's been the

  last wild that you like. I remember when you were like

  back at the end of season 3 and like looking to season 4, you're

  like, yeah, maybe I'm going to try this Demon Hunter and I want

  to tank and like, oh, I guess I'm with the Demon Hunter now.

  You weren't you weren't like jazzed and I love that you've
• 14:48
  picked it up. But yeah, like, I think there

  are You're not the only person who is like looking to dive in
• 14:57
  into like more of the meat of the actual season, Season 1.

  That's a concern that Sean you had expressed early where you're
• 15:06
  like, hey, they can't have too long before we get into it.

  I'm I'm I'm not there guys. I am so in love with the open
• 15:17
  world right now. And I know as soon as that
• 15:20
  instant content comes out like, like I will disappear from the
• 15:26
  greater span of the War Within and it'll just be queuing into
• 15:29
  stuff and running the Mythic Plus.

  And I'm going to enjoy that. But I'm glad that I had this
• 15:34
  experience. So I'm really, I'm really glad

  for it. To the point where I'm hoping, I

  know Sean, you're saying like they won't need it in future

  patches, but I'm hoping that they put the exploration, the
• 15:47
  story and that sort of stuff in future patches.

  I said, I've said before when we were discussing Dragonflight,

  like it's such a it was a strong opening, but they failed to like
• 15:58
  actually like hit that landing and and conclude it.

  Well, I think part of what can really help is if we get the

  same sort of story exploration, the same sort of like local
• 16:08
  stories as we move into the next zone.

  Like, OK, we're going into the Zeralek Caverns, let's have
• 16:13
  local stories in in there that we can explore.

  Let's have like a great pacing of these stories that have come
• 16:20
  out. But that might require a little
• 16:24
  bit more time before the raid. I don't know, depending on like
• 16:28
  what they put through. But I could also see it be
• 16:30
  something where it's like, hey, maybe I don't need to get the
• 16:34
  local stories up front. I can raid and such and then go
• 16:39
  back and do the local story. So I don't know more of this.

  This is I'm still in honeymoon honeymoon mode is what I want to
• 16:48
  say right now. Yeah, I want to touch on that.

  I think when they announced that the, you know, the war was
• 16:54
  coming out and they had all the quests and everything available
• 16:56
  for everybody. We were testing on the beta and
• 16:57
  it was pointed out that the campaign is shorter than normal
• 17:02
  and that the reason is not everybody likes to quest to
• 17:06
  level. So they wanted to make the
• 17:07
  required content less so that they were able to get through it
• 17:13
  fairly quick and then get to what they enjoyed.
• 17:15
  Some people had some issue with that.
• 17:17
  They were like, oh, why are you we adjusting the story for
• 17:20
  people who don't even like the story?
• 17:21
  Give us the story that we want. We the, you know, those people
• 17:24
  who like the story want those campaigns to be longer.

  I They're a successful game company for a reason.
• 17:32
  Moving the required questing off of the campaign and into the
• 17:37
  local stories was such a massive win because it doesn't feel like
• 17:43
  a chore. It doesn't feel like it drags on
• 17:47
  like what I'm like. My rambling about the questing
• 17:50
  might feel like it's it, it the story, the campaign is succinct.
• 17:56
  They wrap it up and it's so powerful because of that.
• 17:59
  So if you want to just play the campaign or not at all, I'm
• 18:02
  looking at you Lex. Then you don't, you know, you
• 18:04
  can, you know, if you just want to grind dungeons, you can get
• 18:08
  through as much as you need to. But then and then I think if
• 18:13
  they go into 10.1 with that same mentality, hey, here's our new
• 18:18
  zone we're going to get in 10.1. I think we get a new zone every
• 18:20
  .1 patch. Here's our new zone.
• 18:23
  Here's the new campaign for it. Yes, it's truncated.
• 18:26
  Yes, it's shorter, but the story itself hits harder, It's
• 18:29
  tighter. And on top of that, here's your
• 18:32
  local stories. And because we won't have this
• 18:34
  two week period plus a four day early access, we're just going
• 18:37
  to have our one week and then the raid will launch the next
• 18:40
  week. You can those locals.
• 18:42
  The good thing about those local stories is they're sort of
• 18:44
  Evergreen. You get through the campaign
• 18:46
  question that week prep, right? And you're prepping for the
• 18:48
  raid, you're prepping for the plus, get through the campaign
• 18:50
  quest and that. And then you can go back through
• 18:53
  on your days off from raid on your breaks and pick up at those
• 18:56
  local stories. And it will, it'll, it'll
• 18:58
  elongate, it'll stretch out your enjoyment of the story.

  So right now we're getting it all jammed in.

  You know, it's like, here's two weeks of just pure unadulterated
• 19:07
  lore bliss, but in 10.1 they're going to flip that switch again

  and it's going to be like a drip feed of lore over the course of

  the patch. And I'm here for it.

  believe 50 in order to get your heritage armor. 1st 1st Allied

  First Allied race that you don't need to do that, which means if

  you've got a boost lying around from buying, buying the War

  Within or you want to buy 1, you could immediately do that or you

  could do a race change and you will get that fact, that faction

  Rep. I've seen some people struggling

  with Rep and not quite reaching level 8 yet.

  Even without the Dark Moon Fair, you can get pretty high.

  I think my highest right now is like 13 or 14 for for a renown.

  So it is possible to to push through that sort of stuff.

  Make sure you are using the Dartmouth Fair to help you you

  with your renown or as John had said last week, use a contract

  that means that every world quest will give you some renown
