Latest / The Slippery Slope / The Ever Changing Goal Posts of Brett Sutton and the "Fact Checkers"

- 0:04Hi. I'm Jay felon, and thank you for
- 0:06listening to the slippery slope. So I have to talk about this.
- 0:09This article that came through from.
- 0:11Well it's Checkmate. So these are the people who are,
- 0:16you know, they keep a track of what's true?
- 0:18And what's not. Apparently, they check the
- 0:20misinformation. There, the fact Checkers, they
- 0:23come out here in Australia. So this headline here says
- 0:26conspiracists have published a Frank admission Bye, bye.
- 0:30Bret Sutton about boosters, but here's what he really said, this
- 0:35is what they say, on comes out, on ABC News.
- 0:38So Checkmate, it is a Weekly Newsletter from rmit fact, lab,
- 0:44which Recaps the latest in the world of fact, checking and
- 0:48misinformation drawing on the work of deck back lab and its
- 0:52sister organization. Rmit are Mighty ABC, fact, check
- 0:58now, If you live here in Australia, you'll know that
- 1:02there's, you know, ABC aren't always the best at checking the
- 1:07facts. They have a very skewed point of
- 1:10view. Sometimes very left-leaning
- 1:13anyway. So this this article that, well,
- 1:17this fact check that they're going to go through this week.
- 1:20They supposedly debunk social media posts, suggesting
- 1:24Victoria's Chief Health officer spilled the beans by admitting
- 1:29covid-19 in vaccines were never effective.
- 1:34So they go on to say that their claim is this no Britt Sutton,
- 1:38did not admit. That covid-19 vaccines never
- 1:43worked. So he didn't admit it, that's
- 1:46not say that it's not true, he just didn't admit it.
- 1:48So posts quoting Victoria's Chief Health officer, Brent
- 1:53sudden are being shared widely on social media.
- 1:56With users, suggesting they prove what was long suspected
- 2:00that covid-19 vaccines never? It on Instagram and anti lock
- 2:06down group juxtaposed to videos of the senior bureaucrat
- 2:10delivering. Seemingly contradictory
- 2:12messages, alongside a caption that said how can anyone believe
- 2:17these Hypocrites, who's paying them to lie to us in the first
- 2:21clip taken from a YouTube video published on in April, 20 22.
- 2:26Professor Sutton says getting that third dose is protection
- 2:31against getting in. Affected in the first place
- 2:35though. These are his words.
- 2:37Getting the third dose is protection against getting
- 2:40protect getting infected in the first place.
- 2:44But in the second which was taken from an August 1 media
- 2:49conference August 1 2022. Again, Professor Sutton says,
- 2:53despite two three, four doses of the vaccine.
- 2:58It's not so good at preventing infection in the first place.
- 3:03He's not really admitting that covid-19 vaccines never worked
- 3:07in the first place but he is, he is saying that if it's not going
- 3:11to protect you against in getting infected in the first
- 3:15place, that is what he's saying. Okay, so the goes on inside
- 3:20equal to say that that quote has been splashed across telegram,
- 3:24Twitter, and various conspiracy news sites where it has been
- 3:28framed as a direct contradiction of the lies.
- 3:33As he told earlier and a Frank admission That vaccine simply do
- 3:39not work. But in a statement to Checkmate,
- 3:43a spokesman for the Victorian Department of Health labeled the
- 3:47sharing of historical statements without context as active
- 3:53disinformation. So goes on in here to say that
- 3:56data and evidence around covid-19 changes as the virus
- 4:01changes, and we have always, Flick did those changes in
- 4:05messaging and advice? This is what the spokesman for
- 4:08the Victorian Department of Health has said.
- 4:10So what did Professor Sutton actually say the chief Health
- 4:15officers? April advice was delivered when
- 4:18the dominant strain of SARS covid to was the Omicron variant
- 4:23be a to and before Australia had recorded and record any cases of
- 4:30be a 4 and B, A 5, which were the dominant.
- 4:33Eminent strains in Victoria by the time of his August media
- 4:38conference. So during that more recent
- 4:40conference, Professor Sutton said, the VAC switched, the
- 4:44vaccines were not so good. Those were his word, not so good
- 4:50at preventing infection with the be a 4 and B, A 5 strains, but
- 4:55that they still in. This is quoting him produce a
- 5:00bit of downward pressure on Issue aren't you glad that we
- 5:05are all in lockdowns and that we all face all these strict and
- 5:09harsh rules regulations facing fines.
- 5:14You know, so that they could enforce and and mandates for
- 5:18vaccines, that produce a bit of downward pressure on
- 5:21transmission, a bit of downward pressure.
- 5:24Okay, I'll continue on most critically he said, booster
- 5:29shots offered protection against severe outcomes.
- 5:32Amongst Rebel groups such as the elderly who stood to benefit
- 5:36from a four-fold reduction, in your risk of dying or being
- 5:40hospitalized. So Amino then zelman who heads
- 5:45the allergy and clinical Immunology laboratory at Monash
- 5:50Health. Told Checkmate that the science
- 5:52on vaccine Effectiveness was a moving playing field that was
- 5:59always catching up and this like I said, this is the problem
- 6:02ammu. The playing field and yet they
- 6:05brought in regulations mandates that made it seem like the
- 6:11facts. All the facts were in this
- 6:13wasn't a moving playing field that they knew everything and
- 6:16they made they brought in regulations mandates, created
- 6:20laws handed out fines, even through people in jail and yet,
- 6:26then they come along and say, well you can't miss quota, so
- 6:29you can't, you can't try and ties down to this information
- 6:32because some move Even playing field.
- 6:35Anyway goes on to say. So this is this Menino, venzon
- 6:40says in April we had Omicron but most data that we had were from
- 6:46Delta he explained that explains it all.
- 6:49So indeed, the then most recent advice from the Australian
- 6:54technical Advisory Group on immunization which is a Targhee
- 6:59was that the evidence on boosters and Omicron was
- 7:02evolved. It's all evolving.
- 7:06That's lovely. Have the government is allowed
- 7:08to talk about things evolving? No one else.
- 7:10No one else can give that excuse, but the government can
- 7:14goes on, but it suggests that despite gradual waning of
- 7:18immunity over the months, after receiving a booster, a third do,
- 7:23still offered some protection against symptomatic infection.
- 7:29So, it offered some protection. That's all, and it's worth
- 7:32remembering. In that early independent
- 7:35studies show that two doses of moderna and Pfizer's mRNA
- 7:38vaccines. For example, were highly
- 7:41effective at preventing infection.
- 7:44By some estimates, they initially offered 85 to 95%
- 7:48protection against the original Wuhan strain and upwards of 85
- 7:53percent against the alpha variance.
- 7:55A target has since written that a booster dose augmented
- 8:00protection against infection from the more severe Variant and
- 8:04provided a substantial increase in the protective Effectiveness
- 8:08Effectiveness against symptomatic disease, and
- 8:11infection from, the more infectious Omicron Professor
- 8:15than ZEM explained that the evidence showed vaccines did
- 8:19protect against infection, especially in the first month
- 8:24after vaccination. I'm good.
- 8:27I'm glad I'm protected for a month.
- 8:29Here you go. You get a month's a every
- 8:31anyway. So, however, He said that
- 8:34protection was never 100% in the first place.
- 8:38Well, gee, that's not the way they sold it.
- 8:40That's not the way they're sold at.
- 8:42What was the ads saying? You have to get, you have to
- 8:45get, you have to get vaccinated for for your own protection, for
- 8:49the protection of your neighbors.
- 8:51Apparently, when you walked out of the house, you had this
- 8:54awesome protection around you and you you protected, everyone
- 8:58else around you because you were well maybe for the first week or
- 9:02two and And it gradually very quickly just whines, he also
- 9:07says that in the variance and much better in escaping immune
- 9:12response, he added. So Delta is very well recognized
- 9:16by the body, immune system Omicron is not and now,
- 9:20especially with the VA to be a 45.
- 9:23The immune recognition is even lower of.
- 9:26Wow, these are one smart, cookie variants.
- 9:30Still, Professor then Zim said that Doesn't mean the vaccines
- 9:34and boosters often no protection against infection, it just
- 9:38offers less than it once did and this drops away faster but
- 9:45echoing, the advice of a Targhee, the European CDC and
- 9:49others. He told Checkmate the important
- 9:52part is that it protects especially vulnerable risk
- 9:55groups from severe covid. This is what I see.
- 9:59Okay, they've gone from everyone has to get vaccinated because
- 10:02it's giving you Take action to now.
- 10:04Well, it's really the elderly, it's the vulnerable by.
- 10:08They really need to do it and still not going to protect them
- 10:11100%. I have to constantly get
- 10:13boosters because it only gives you you know after about a
- 10:16month. It whines considerably
- 10:19considerably to getting back to w.
- 10:21A professor Sutton has said his quotes that all, you know, they
- 10:29issue is that saying that Brett Sutton did not admit that
- 10:33Covid-19 vaccines never worked. Okay, he didn't say that they
- 10:37never worked but the issue is that governments have been
- 10:41pushing this mandate that you know, everyone needs to get
- 10:45vaccinated. You're protecting everyone else.
- 10:47You're protecting yourself where the facts seem to be that the
- 10:51the virus itself was mutating that quickly.
- 10:55It wasn't offering the protection that the government
- 10:59was selling people like this Sutton were out there spruik.
- 11:03The vaccine and the benefits of the vaccine and yet they didn't
- 11:08know all the facts and even his very words, they can try and mix
- 11:12it all up and sell it that no, the fact Checkers with the fact
- 11:16Checkers, we're right. And everyone else got it wrong.
- 11:19Well, no, he was, he's constantly moving the goalposts.
- 11:24That's what all of these bureaucrats.
- 11:26That's what the government is constantly done.
- 11:28Moving the goalposts saying, well, yeah, these are the facts
- 11:31at the time but now we know even more.
- 11:33So we have to get another booster.
- 11:35We have to have a different kind of vaccine, this is it's a new
- 11:38variant. So the facts, the facts that we,
- 11:41what we called fax back in April, they're no longer facts
- 11:46but these are the new facts in August but what we're saying you
- 11:50know, come December, they'll be a wall.
- 11:52What? We thought were facts in August,
- 11:54they're no longer facts. Then, we've got a new lot of
- 11:56facts. They keep changing the
- 11:58goalposts. They keep making excuses for
- 12:00their own bungles for their own. Inability to lead to make
- 12:05sausage decisions for their own inability to control this virus.
- 12:12All they want to do is bring in mandates, bringing regulations,
- 12:16bringing laws control the people as I've always said this is
- 12:20always being about control. It's always been about how much
- 12:24we can push the people to control them, to bring them to
- 12:28into conforming to how we want things to go.
- 12:31This is about Informing our society so that they get used to
- 12:36being highly govern to be highly restricted.
- 12:40That's what they want. Eventually, they will bring in a
- 12:43one world government. This is about gaining control
- 12:46over the masses. That's my opinion.
- 12:51Thank you for listening to the slippery slope.
