- 0:02Speaker 1: What it do, baby? We're back again. The Grounded Show,
- 0:08Speaker 1: episode 159.
- 0:10Speaker 2: You heard me. Yes, sir.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Yeah, man. Got a nice little event coming up.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Yep.
- 0:21Speaker 1: We got Halloween weekend. So we definitely adding the Halloween
- 0:25Speaker 1: vibes to the event on Thursday.
- 0:27Speaker 3: I'm going to have a little Halloween vibes on the
- 0:31Speaker 3: DJ deck, too. Maybe play a little Halloween track, something
- 0:34Speaker 3: spicy to set the mood.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Costumes are welcome, not required.
- 0:40Speaker 3: So if anybody wants to come through and dress up
- 0:43Speaker 3: and start kicking the weekend off early, we're here for you.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Yo, something dope I'm doing for Halloween this weekend, like
- 0:50Speaker 1: I was telling you earlier, is in our neighborhood... They
- 0:54Speaker 1: get pretty festive, which is dope because our old neighborhood
- 0:57Speaker 1: was like that too. When we moved, we kind of
- 1:02Speaker 1: thought about that. Like, dang, our neighborhood was so dope.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:05Speaker 1: But this neighborhood ended up being dope with the Halloween
- 1:08Speaker 1: stuff and everything too. One of the houses would be
- 1:10Speaker 1: having a cotton candy machine every year. One of them
- 1:13Speaker 1: would be having kind of like a haunted house type thing. Yeah.
- 1:17Speaker 1: um people always giving out like jello shots and like
- 1:20Speaker 1: drinks and stuff like all the parents for like the
- 1:22Speaker 1: parents walking around and stuff so like you know we'd
- 1:25Speaker 1: walk around and get lit and actually have like a
- 1:28Speaker 1: good time you know what i mean but this year
- 1:30Speaker 1: since the kids are like a little older we're just
- 1:32Speaker 1: gonna let them do their thing and we're gonna be
- 1:35Speaker 1: one of.
- 1:35Speaker 2: The houses that has the you.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Know shots and handing out stuff so i'm pretty excited
- 1:40Speaker 1: man we bought a whole bunch of candy That's.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Also because getting the neighborhood together like that and everybody
- 1:46Speaker 3: knowing each other, it's also a little protective, I think.
- 1:49Speaker 2: That helps out.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Yeah. I think with my neighborhood, too, and I bet
- 1:52Speaker 1: you it happens with a lot of neighborhoods that is
- 1:55Speaker 1: brand new construction. Everybody that moves in there a lot
- 1:59Speaker 1: of times is a family. A lot of times it's
- 2:04Speaker 1: their first home, or it's a place that people are
- 2:08Speaker 1: going to plant their roots.
- 2:09Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 2:10Speaker 1: So like the neighborhood kind of like grows up together,
- 2:12Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying? Yeah.
- 2:14Speaker 3: When we got our first crib like that, a neighborhood
- 2:16Speaker 3: like that, we were like the 13th lot. And then
- 2:19Speaker 3: I became boys with all the dudes in the neighborhood.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Like right on my street. Everybody on my street, I
- 2:23Speaker 3: became boys with.
- 2:24Speaker 1: It's like a shared experience and like you become community
- 2:27Speaker 1: off that, you know what I'm saying? But we got
- 2:29Speaker 1: the stuff for the Jell-O shots. So I'm excited, man.
- 2:32Speaker 1: It's going to be a nice vibe, so. We got
- 2:34Speaker 1: two cool things coming up. I know you got a
- 2:37Speaker 1: few things this weekend also, so you're going to be vibing.
- 2:41Speaker 1: It's nice, man. We've been able to chill and do
- 2:44Speaker 1: some fun stuff. We hit the Food & Wine at Epcot.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Yeah, that's dope, man. I haven't done it yet, and
- 2:50Speaker 2: I told Whitefield, I was like, we need to do it.
- 2:52Speaker 1: We just need to keep up and do it. The
- 2:55Speaker 1: Food & Wine is.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Heard about everything y'all was eating, all the countries y'all
- 3:00Speaker 3: stopped at.
- 3:01Speaker 1: This is actually the first time we went just for that.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Usually when we go, we go for either a concert
- 3:07Speaker 1: or just to go. And then we might stop at
- 3:10Speaker 1: one of the places, but we don't get involved in it.
- 3:13Speaker 1: This was literally the first time that we were like,
- 3:15Speaker 1: all right, we're going and we're going to share at
- 3:18Speaker 1: every spot so that we have the stomach to keep going. Exactly, yeah.
- 3:21Speaker 1: And one thing that really surprised me, it being Disney,
- 3:25Speaker 1: is like, Like I said, me and wifey were sharing
- 3:29Speaker 1: everything so that we had room to try everything. It
- 3:32Speaker 1: wasn't even that expensive. Every little plate was like $ 6, $ 7.
- 3:36Speaker 1: The premium ones were like $ 10. You know what I'm saying?
- 3:39Speaker 1: And they gave you a good portion. The drinks, same thing,
- 3:42Speaker 1: like $ 7 or so for a regular drink. If you're
- 3:45Speaker 1: getting a premium one, $ 10 to $ 12. So, you know,
- 3:49Speaker 1: I think we ended up spending like a hundred bucks
- 3:51Speaker 1: or something and then we called it quits cause we
- 3:53Speaker 1: were just already lit and we were already full.
- 3:55Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? That's all you needed.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Yeah. No, it's definitely, it's definitely a vibe, man. Well,
- 4:01Speaker 1: definitely got to go cause it's cool. Yeah.
- 4:04Speaker 3: That's one thing we haven't done together and I think
- 4:06Speaker 3: we need to add that to the list.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Facts. And then, um, we had horror nights as well, man. Um,
- 4:11Speaker 1: shout out to, um, Angel and Quincy. They pulled up
- 4:14Speaker 1: for that one. That was dope, man. That was the
- 4:16Speaker 1: first time that, both my kids went yeah so like.
- 4:19Speaker 3: I was uh the sinner's house i've been wondering like
- 4:22Speaker 3: what is it no no no spill the.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Beans right i'm glad you asked that we weren't even
- 4:29Speaker 1: planning on talking about this dog but for those of
- 4:33Speaker 1: you that went to horror nights and went to the
- 4:35Speaker 1: sinner's house y'all gotta agree that it was trashed oh
- 4:41Speaker 1: damn because check this out like So the thing with
- 4:45Speaker 1: sinners is, like, the vampires, you know what I'm saying?
- 4:48Speaker 1: So there was just, like, a whole bunch of, like,
- 4:52Speaker 1: very fragile-looking pale guys with, like, vampire teeth and just
- 4:58Speaker 1: popping around the corner, like, just kind of giving, like,
- 5:01Speaker 1: a sassy neck, you know what I'm saying? Like, they
- 5:04Speaker 1: just come around the corner and just, like, a sassy neck,
- 5:07Speaker 1: and then they go back, you know what I'm saying?
- 5:09Speaker 1: So it was, like, bro, these little, like, vampire-looking dudes. Like,
- 5:14Speaker 1: it wasn't hitting, I'll tell you that much. Okay, all right. That,
- 5:17Speaker 1: to me, bro, that was probably the worst house. For real? Yeah, facts.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Because the, like, it had the same vibe as, like,
- 5:25Speaker 1: the movie and everything, which was dope, but as far as, like,
- 5:28Speaker 1: a haunted house.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Yeah, it wasn't scary.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Like, little skinny pale guys going like this, like, nah, bro,
- 5:34Speaker 1: it didn't hit, bro, it didn't hit. But, um, overall, bro,
- 5:38Speaker 1: it was dope.
- 5:39Speaker 2: What was the best house then? Man, um, Y'all kept
- 5:43Speaker 2: talking about that side clown house.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Everybody was saying that Jack the Clown house, they had
- 5:48Speaker 1: a lot of clowns in it.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Jack the Clown? What's that from?
- 5:51Speaker 1: That's like the clown that's like the Halloween Horror Nights clown.
- 5:55Speaker 1: You know what I mean? The one that always would
- 5:57Speaker 1: be in the advertising back in the day and stuff.
- 6:00Speaker 1: That's like their own thing. That was in there last year,
- 6:04Speaker 1: so that's crazy. The Stranger Things one was fire, bro.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Oh, damn.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Fire.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Was it the upside down the whole way through, pretty much?
- 6:11Speaker 1: It was like, it took you through different places. Like,
- 6:14Speaker 1: you literally went through, like, bro, like, it was like
- 6:18Speaker 1: all of season five, basically, from what my daughter was
- 6:22Speaker 1: telling me. Like, it was like a lot of all
- 6:23Speaker 1: the elements of season five. Because you haven't watched it.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Because I haven't caught up on season five yet. But, bro,
- 6:30Speaker 1: it was fire. Fire. Fire. That one was really good, too.
- 6:34Speaker 1: That might have been one of the best ones, also.
- 6:36Speaker 2: They had a.
- 6:38Speaker 1: the Hellraiser one was really good. We did that one
- 6:41Speaker 1: last and that one was really good. Honestly, it was
- 6:45Speaker 1: a vibe, bro.
- 6:45Speaker 2: They were all good.
- 6:47Speaker 1: It was the whole.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Except for Sinner's.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Except for the Sinner's one, bro. That one I did
- 6:51Speaker 1: not like, bro.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Well, that's good that you didn't hate on everything. So,
- 6:56Speaker 3: you know, there was definitely some good haunted houses.
- 6:59Speaker 1: And then even with the Sinner's one, like I said,
- 7:01Speaker 1: it's like, it's not even that it was like a
- 7:06Speaker 1: whack house.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Like, they could have done better.
- 7:09Speaker 1: The experience was dope like and the way that they
- 7:11Speaker 1: set it up and everything and then towards the end
- 7:13Speaker 1: they had some different stuff that was better but just
- 7:16Speaker 1: in general most of the whole thing was just the
- 7:18Speaker 1: vampires like you know i'm saying and it just didn't
- 7:21Speaker 1: hit bro and they weren't even like made up so
- 7:24Speaker 1: much so it was literally just like a pale dude
- 7:27Speaker 1: with the fangs just shaking like wearing like a like
- 7:30Speaker 1: a like a dress shirt you know i'm saying and
- 7:33Speaker 1: i'm telling you he was just like they would just
- 7:35Speaker 1: come around the corner like you know i'm saying like
- 7:38Speaker 1: they were just like hey yo like like that you
- 7:41Speaker 1: know and you look and then but he's smaller than
- 7:44Speaker 1: you too you know so i was like oh okay
- 7:47Speaker 1: you got me like you know so that yeah that
- 7:50Speaker 1: one that one what.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Kind of person are you walking through the haunted house
- 7:53Speaker 3: like what what is your kind of reaction what is
- 7:55Speaker 3: your stance.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I like i like to get scared and i like
- 7:58Speaker 1: to feel that like scaredness and then like the adrenaline
- 8:02Speaker 1: of like okay what's good like i like to get
- 8:04Speaker 1: into it yeah you know i'm saying like i'll be
- 8:06Speaker 1: like oh oh oh like sometimes you'll walk through and
- 8:10Speaker 1: you'll hear people like in the line and like certain
- 8:13Speaker 1: people be like like somebody pops up and they'll be
- 8:15Speaker 1: like oh this is so fake i'm like bro shut
- 8:18Speaker 1: why are you here like we're in here vibing why
- 8:22Speaker 1: are you saying stuff like that like you know i'm
- 8:24Speaker 1: saying it's so corny bro i hate that it's like
- 8:27Speaker 1: you're I don't know if you're trying to prove that
- 8:29Speaker 1: you're cool and you're not getting scared or you just
- 8:32Speaker 1: don't like it and you can't help but say it. Like, bro,
- 8:34Speaker 1: just keep it to yourself. Let everybody vibe.
- 8:36Speaker 2: No, I give the reaction. These people are working hard, man.
- 8:39Speaker 3: And, like, to work in a haunted house like that
- 8:42Speaker 3: and do the same routine over and over and over again.
- 8:44Speaker 2: For the people. Like, bro, you got to give these
- 8:46Speaker 2: people some respect.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's like something like that, you just got
- 8:50Speaker 1: to go with the mindset of, like, what I'm pulling
- 8:54Speaker 1: up to is, like, something I have to get like
- 8:57Speaker 1: into that vibe too you know i'm saying yeah and
- 9:00Speaker 1: i always get a kick out of my fan brother
- 9:02Speaker 1: they they'd be going crazy my wife and my daughter
- 9:04Speaker 1: last year was going crazy it was so funny and
- 9:06Speaker 1: then now um you know my wife my daughter and
- 9:09Speaker 1: my son went and they were all just tripping over
- 9:12Speaker 1: it was so funny man it was so funny i
- 9:14Speaker 1: love it it's a vibe man i really like horror
- 9:17Speaker 1: nights man some people don't like they can't get past
- 9:20Speaker 1: like the scariness of it yeah And it's like, bro, like,
- 9:23Speaker 1: you know what it is. You know, you're at a
- 9:26Speaker 1: theme park. It's theme park employees, you know, like.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Just a little jump scare stuff that you don't really
- 9:31Speaker 3: regularly have.
- 9:32Speaker 2: So exactly. Enjoy it.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Exactly. That's how I look at it, you know. And
- 9:37Speaker 1: that's funny, man. Like, I got like so much mixed
- 9:41Speaker 1: reactions like this year. I don't know if I just
- 9:44Speaker 1: never really noticed it or what, but this year when
- 9:46Speaker 1: I told people I went, a lot of people were like,
- 9:48Speaker 1: oh man, I'll never go to that. You know what
- 9:49Speaker 1: I'm saying? I'm like, damn, for real? Why? It's just
- 9:52Speaker 1: interesting hearing that stuff.
- 9:54Speaker 2: The reasoning behind it.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Yeah, the reasoning. Why you wouldn't go? I don't know.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Would you be so scared? Yeah.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Are you scared? Little Andy is scared.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Andy's afraid. Yo, I've been seeing a lot of niche
- 10:10Speaker 1: Halloween costumes. One of them I keep seeing is Jan
- 10:14Speaker 1: in the dinner party episode. where she was playing Hunter's music,
- 10:20Speaker 1: and she's like.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 10:23Speaker 1: I took you by the hand. Yo. People dressed like
- 10:28Speaker 1: how she was dressed and, like, doing the dance and everything.
- 10:30Speaker 1: You know, yo, it's so funny, bro.
- 10:32Speaker 2: You know, it was Crazy Wifey.
- 10:34Speaker 3: He's not an Office fan, but at night when, like,
- 10:36Speaker 3: she's doing that little night routine, I'll play, like, random
- 10:39Speaker 3: Office clips, and I catch her watching them. Like, yeah, man.
- 10:42Speaker 2: And one of them was that when they had the
- 10:44Speaker 2: dinner party night.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Yeah, that one's funny. I feel like with the Office,
- 10:48Speaker 1: you got to, like, get yourself into the lore of it,
- 10:51Speaker 1: like between the cast. And then once you understand the
- 10:55Speaker 1: lore of them between them, that's what makes everything so funny.
- 10:58Speaker 3: Like Michael Scott is not funny to you until you
- 11:00Speaker 3: know exactly who Michael Scott is.
- 11:02Speaker 1: You know what's another funny thing about The Office is
- 11:05Speaker 1: like when I, I was late to it, but on
- 11:08Speaker 1: my first rewatch, I had just started smoking weed, like
- 11:11Speaker 1: on my first rewatch. So I had seen it before,
- 11:13Speaker 1: but it's my first rewatch.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Bruh.
- 11:17Speaker 1: I will get high and watch The Office, and I
- 11:19Speaker 1: will watch it like Michael Scott is really doing these things.
- 11:23Speaker 1: And I look at my wife like, yo, this guy's tripping.
- 11:26Speaker 2: You see what he's doing?
- 11:28Speaker 1: I used to get so into it, bro, because you
- 11:30Speaker 1: just get so immersed into like, bro, this guy is
- 11:33Speaker 1: so cringe, yo. What is wrong with.
- 11:35Speaker 2: This dude, yo?
- 11:36Speaker 3: I think they did an excellent job of making him
- 11:39Speaker 3: really think he was the person who he thought he was.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Yeah, no, they did.
- 11:42Speaker 3: I think that's what makes his personality. He's so sure
- 11:46Speaker 3: of himself.
- 11:47Speaker 1: I forgot who said it. I feel like I've seen
- 11:50Speaker 1: it on comedians in cars, but somebody was basically like,
- 11:54Speaker 1: the fact that somebody's filming him so that explains who
- 12:00Speaker 1: he's putting the show on for it like it makes
- 12:04Speaker 1: everything make.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Sense you know what I mean.
- 12:07Speaker 1: And it's like that's the funny detail like he's showing
- 12:10Speaker 1: off and that makes him even cornier because he thinks
- 12:13Speaker 1: that the way he's acting is making him look.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Cool you know what I'm saying it's.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Funny man.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Give me your top three Michael Scott clips I can
- 12:23Speaker 3: name mine right now Prison Mike Okay.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Number one, Mr. Butt Licker phone call.
- 12:32Speaker 1: William H.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Butt Licker? Yeah, William H. Bill Butt Licker. And when
- 12:35Speaker 2: he had to fire Dwight, he's like, it's a million
- 12:38Speaker 2: dollar deal. And then.
- 12:42Speaker 3: Where Jim got him with the, smells like up dog
- 12:47Speaker 3: in here, and he was trying so hard to get
- 12:50Speaker 3: everybody in the office.
- 12:52Speaker 1: And the one he got, he forgot to say the line, bro.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, Dwight. Dwight. He's like, got him. And he's like, ah.
- 12:59Speaker 2: And then he gets pissed, and he looks at the camera,
- 13:01Speaker 2: and he walks. And that's why it's so funny.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Nah, it is, bro.
- 13:04Speaker 2: All right, give me yours.
- 13:06Speaker 1: So I always, I don't know why I thought of
- 13:10Speaker 1: this one, but it's so funny to me when Pam
- 13:13Speaker 1: puts it together that.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Mike was with his mom.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Oh, his mom. I mean, with her mom.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Yeah, her mom.
- 13:19Speaker 1: When Pam realizes, damn.
- 13:22Speaker 2: She's like, no.
- 13:23Speaker 1: The girl Michael's talking about is my mom, bruh. She's like, no.
- 13:27Speaker 1: That whole episode is so funny.
- 13:28Speaker 2: And he's giving her the.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Yeah. Then, like, the next episode, they go, like, on
- 13:34Speaker 1: a double date. And he's trying to act like a
- 13:36Speaker 1: father figured her. Oh, my gosh, yo. They get both together.
- 13:41Speaker 2: He's like, my girls. And then he breaks up with her.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Yo, he be tripping, man.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Get number three?
- 13:48Speaker 1: That one is funny. Man. I don't know. Specifically, Michael.
- 13:55Speaker 1: There's so many. There's just so many, bro. There's so many. Definitely,
- 13:59Speaker 1: that one sticks out to me. I always like the
- 14:03Speaker 1: Holly arc. Not a specific part of it, but the
- 14:07Speaker 1: way he acted with her. It was always funny seeing
- 14:12Speaker 1: him like, When he actually, like, really fell in love. Yeah.
- 14:15Speaker 2: When they were talking like Yoda to each other. Yeah.
- 14:19Speaker 1: But, yeah, man. I can't even think of him off
- 14:22Speaker 1: the top of my head, bro. But I know, like,
- 14:24Speaker 1: the gags, like, especially, like, the cold opens that they
- 14:28Speaker 1: would have, bro. Like, those were so epic, bro.
- 14:31Speaker 2: So epic.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Well, yo, honestly, man, like, kind of like a hot take, like,
- 14:36Speaker 1: to me. Parks and Rec is better, bro, than The Office.
- 14:40Speaker 1: That's what wifey says. The jokes in Parks and Rec
- 14:43Speaker 1: are just so funny. I don't know. They're just more funny.
- 14:47Speaker 2: You know what I think it is, too? They have
- 14:49Speaker 2: more diverse characters.
- 14:50Speaker 3: I think they took The Office concept, but The Office
- 14:53Speaker 3: were like side stars.
- 14:55Speaker 1: You know, it was supposed to be a spinoff originally,
- 14:58Speaker 1: and then it ended up being a spinoff, but only
- 15:01Speaker 1: because supposedly the thing that connected it was like, The
- 15:04Speaker 1: old copy machine from Dr. Riffling got refurbished and ended
- 15:08Speaker 1: up in Pawnee, Indiana at Parks and Rec.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I think their cast was so diverse. There was no.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Way they couldn't include them as main characters.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Aziz as Tom Haverford, Nick Offerman as Ron Swanson. Chris
- 15:26Speaker 1: Pratt as Andy Dwyer.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and then what's her name? Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Audrey Plaza.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Audrey Plaza, yeah.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Like, they just, they made such a good chemistry together
- 15:38Speaker 3: as characters, and they all had their own storyline. Like,
- 15:41Speaker 3: you could build episodes off just each of them, you know?
- 15:45Speaker 1: Yo, going down this, like, rabbit hole of, like, shows
- 15:48Speaker 1: like that, like I said, like, for me overall, I
- 15:51Speaker 1: like Parks and Rec better than, um, The Office. The Office,
- 15:55Speaker 1: but they're still both up there. You know what I'm saying?
- 15:58Speaker 1: I enjoy both of them a lot, a lot. But
- 16:00Speaker 1: I enjoy Parks and Rec more. But the show to me, bro,
- 16:06Speaker 1: that genuinely has the most laughs, just straight laughs, is
- 16:11Speaker 1: New Girl, bro, because of Schmidt, dog.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:13Speaker 1: The dude Schmidt from New Girl, dog. Yeah.
- 16:18Speaker 3: His delivery and the way he'll hit you with five
- 16:24Speaker 3: jokes in a row, bro.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. To me, it's super outlandish, so some
- 16:32Speaker 1: people don't like it because they still want it to
- 16:34Speaker 1: feel a little realistic. But, bro, to me, that's the funniest.
- 16:38Speaker 1: His little lines and the little things he says, bro,
- 16:42Speaker 1: that's the A1 character in a sitcom.
- 16:45Speaker 2: No, he was a... Nick, too. Nick was funny to me, too. Yeah,
- 16:48Speaker 2: Nick was super funny, too.
- 16:50Speaker 3: I think it was good. Like I said, I never
- 16:53Speaker 3: started watching it on my own. Wifey loved it. We
- 16:56Speaker 3: kind of started from the beginning. I didn't catch every episode,
- 16:58Speaker 3: but I caught most of them. I was like, nah,
- 17:00Speaker 3: this is a good show. And I still tell it
- 17:01Speaker 3: to this day. I want to catch it from the beginning.
- 17:04Speaker 3: Those are also good character bases.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Yeah. And then what's that game they played on the chairs, President?
- 17:09Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, yeah. I think it's something about President. Yeah.
- 17:13Speaker 2: And it's funny because I even looked at that game
- 17:15Speaker 2: and I was like, oh, what game is this? No,
- 17:18Speaker 2: that was a good one. Yeah, bro.
- 17:20Speaker 1: That was, like, a good, like, early 2000s to, like, mid-2000s.
- 17:24Speaker 1: I mean, to, like, the 2010s, bro.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:27Speaker 1: That was, like, a goaded era for, like, those kind of, like, sitcoms.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Are there not shows like that no more?
- 17:32Speaker 1: I mean, it's, like, things are so different, like, entertainment-wise now, bro. Like,
- 17:39Speaker 1: stuff like that don't even last. Like, they don't even give, like,
- 17:42Speaker 1: things a chance to, like, really grow, like. You know
- 17:45Speaker 1: what I mean?
- 17:46Speaker 2: Yeah, every show gets canceled all the time.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Everything is analytics. You know what I mean?
- 17:50Speaker 3: And everything has to be for a streaming service, so
- 17:52Speaker 3: it's not that easy to drop it for a network.
- 17:54Speaker 1: It's just everything is produced so differently now, man. People
- 17:59Speaker 1: are starting to really give a lot of emphasis to long-form,
- 18:03Speaker 1: real content. I don't know if you've seen that. So
- 18:06Speaker 1: even with the podcast, we can start uploading the whole episode.
- 18:08Speaker 3: Yeah, they sent 90-minute videos on Instagram.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Yeah, bro, and it's crazy. Now everything is like, transitioning
- 18:16Speaker 1: to that like long form like on your phone type
- 18:18Speaker 1: stuff and it's funny man like maybe just cause I'm
- 18:21Speaker 1: older too but like I was gonna say yeah I've
- 18:24Speaker 1: kinda just been going the other way yeah.
- 18:26Speaker 3: I'm not like that I don't like anything that takes
- 18:28Speaker 3: longer than a minute is too.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Long and even what's it called the other day you
- 18:34Speaker 1: blessed me with that Xbox bro like I just been
- 18:37Speaker 1: back pulling out DVDs you know what I'm saying like
- 18:40Speaker 1: going over like the movies that I love the shows
- 18:42Speaker 1: that I got box sets of and stuff like And just, like,
- 18:46Speaker 1: kind of pulling things up that way because even, like,
- 18:49Speaker 1: the stuff you watch, when it's just created for the
- 18:54Speaker 1: type of viewing that you're doing, it kind of, like,
- 18:57Speaker 1: defeats the purpose because, like, you're kind of, like, for example, like,
- 19:03Speaker 1: when we was binging shows in the beginning, like, when
- 19:05Speaker 1: that even became a thing, like, you're doing that because it's, like,
- 19:11Speaker 1: a highly anticipated show, or you already know the show's fire.
- 19:14Speaker 1: You want to be part of the conversation. So you're like, okay,
- 19:18Speaker 1: now that it's out, I'm going to peep it. Now
- 19:21Speaker 1: they're giving you the whole show, and you don't even
- 19:25Speaker 1: know if you like it. It's designed for you to binge,
- 19:28Speaker 1: but you don't even know if you want to binge. Before,
- 19:30Speaker 1: you would go into something to binge. Now it's like
- 19:34Speaker 1: you're just looking and you're like, okay.
- 19:36Speaker 3: How long am I going to be watching this for?
- 19:38Speaker 3: And that's exactly how I watch shows. And wifey knows it.
- 19:41Speaker 3: We'll pick a show and watch the first episode and
- 19:45Speaker 3: we're like, well, we heard this is a really good show.
- 19:48Speaker 3: The first episode on Cat like all right maybe we
- 19:51Speaker 3: just have to invest a little more and watch a
- 19:52Speaker 3: couple more but it.
- 19:54Speaker 1: See i'm against that bro yeah i'm the first episode
- 19:58Speaker 1: gotta be good bro This whole power through the first
- 20:00Speaker 1: season stuff. Oh, yeah. That is.
- 20:02Speaker 2: That is.
- 20:03Speaker 1: That's what they say. Power through. Oh, no. You got
- 20:05Speaker 1: to do this.
- 20:05Speaker 2: No, but there's been plenty of shows where I haven't
- 20:07Speaker 2: done that. Yeah, facts.
- 20:08Speaker 3: But I give it the second episode grace.
- 20:11Speaker 1: My version of power through is if they had some
- 20:16Speaker 1: kind of detail in the first episode that I'm very
- 20:18Speaker 1: interested in finding out how they resolve it. Yeah. You
- 20:21Speaker 1: know what I'm saying? But if it's whack and they
- 20:23Speaker 1: leave me on a cliffhanger, I'll be like, all right, cool.
- 20:26Speaker 2: I'm cool. Yeah.
- 20:27Speaker 1: My wife is the opposite. If she starts something, she
- 20:28Speaker 1: got to finish it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like we
- 20:31Speaker 1: started watching Star Wars and she's like, yo, either way,
- 20:35Speaker 1: if I like it or not, we finish this.
- 20:36Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?
- 20:37Speaker 1: We're going all the way through.
- 20:38Speaker 2: I don't care.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Even if I think it's whack 30 minutes in, I
- 20:41Speaker 1: need to know what happens. You know what I'm saying?
- 20:44Speaker 1: So we almost done catching the Star Wars movies, man.
- 20:47Speaker 2: I'm hyped.
- 20:47Speaker 1: I got to get back on that.
- 20:49Speaker 2: All right.
- 20:49Speaker 3: So to tie it in, let's bring our last two
- 20:53Speaker 3: topics in because I think they relate. Kind of what
- 20:56Speaker 3: you were talking about. Kanye and Jay-Z.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Millennials.
- 21:02Speaker 3: The new era. Jay-Z doing the Super Bowl. I mean,
- 21:06Speaker 3: not Kanye. I'm going to bring that up.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Drake.
- 21:10Speaker 1: That's some foreshadowing.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I let that slip. Drake, Jay-Z, millennialism.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Is that a word?
- 21:21Speaker 2: We're going to say it's a word.
- 21:22Speaker 1: I think it is. Yeah.
- 21:24Speaker 2: So it's like.
- 21:25Speaker 3: Are things that were trendy starting to appeal to the masses?
- 21:30Speaker 1: So I think something that we've even seen it with
- 21:35Speaker 1: the Y2K trend coming back a couple years ago. It's
- 21:39Speaker 1: like we kind of feel like we came up in
- 21:43Speaker 1: a dope era before. So stuff is coming back around
- 21:47Speaker 1: from there to give you that feeling. You know what
- 21:49Speaker 1: I'm saying? And then the way.
- 21:55Speaker 1: And kind of like what kind of got us to
- 21:56Speaker 1: the millennial topic is like I sent you a little
- 21:59Speaker 1: clip of Drake having the Backstreet Boys at his birthday
- 22:03Speaker 1: party and he was performing with them.
- 22:05Speaker 2: And Bow Wow.
- 22:06Speaker 1: And Bow Wow. And he gave Bow Wow his flowers
- 22:09Speaker 1: for being influential to him, which is a big move
- 22:12Speaker 1: because a lot of people like to shit on Bow
- 22:15Speaker 1: Wow now. That's the cool thing now, but it's like, bro.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Bow Wow had us in a chokehold back in the day.
- 22:21Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying?
- 22:22Speaker 2: He was the culture.
- 22:23Speaker 1: He was the man back in the day. And when
- 22:25Speaker 1: you're a kid and you're seeing.
- 22:26Speaker 2: A kid doing it big like that.
- 22:27Speaker 3: After his music career and then 106 and Park, he
- 22:31Speaker 3: had a run.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Nah, facts. He had a crazy run. Maybe if you
- 22:36Speaker 1: weren't older, maybe it didn't hit. But if you were younger,
- 22:38Speaker 1: it hit. You know what I'm saying? And one of
- 22:42Speaker 1: the things that somebody commented. I'm going to give her
- 22:46Speaker 1: a shout-out, too, just in case this comes across their timeline.
- 22:50Speaker 1: The commenter was Nana. She said, Drake is a true millennial,
- 22:55Speaker 1: and that's why he's loved. And it got me kind
- 22:58Speaker 1: of thinking, like, man, when I look at a lot
- 23:03Speaker 1: of the things that Drake does and has done, that
- 23:08Speaker 1: clicks so well now because he's literally, like, It's kind
- 23:13Speaker 1: of like the millennial aesthetic. And he's living it in
- 23:17Speaker 1: a way where people wish they were living it that way.
- 23:21Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? So it really clicked why
- 23:25Speaker 1: outside of the music, Drake has that chokehold. And the
- 23:30Speaker 1: idea of... I never watched Degrassi. Same concept. Millennials love Degrassi.
- 23:37Speaker 1: That was like the.
- 23:42Speaker 1: The like grown up kids show.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:44Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? So people love to watch
- 23:45Speaker 1: it and be on some like, yeah, I'm watching like,
- 23:47Speaker 1: so you watching cartoons. That was like the Saved by
- 23:50Speaker 1: the Bell of the old era. Exactly. It was like
- 23:52Speaker 1: the new edgy Saved by the Bell. You know what
- 23:54Speaker 1: I'm saying? So it's like when you kind of factor
- 23:57Speaker 1: that all together, it's like, oh yeah, Drake really makes
- 24:00Speaker 1: sense as like the face of this generation because he
- 24:04Speaker 1: literally encapsulates like that whole, he's 40 bro. Like that,
- 24:08Speaker 1: that rate, like, you know, 30 to 40 people. Yeah. He,
- 24:12Speaker 1: Got them down to a T. You know what I'm saying?
- 24:14Speaker 3: That's why I feel like the same thing about Bron.
- 24:19Speaker 3: People think he's so much older, but he's literally the
- 24:21Speaker 3: same age as me. You know what I mean? And
- 24:25Speaker 3: so the way he acts sometimes, I'm like, I'm still
- 24:27Speaker 3: a young kid at heart.
- 24:29Speaker 2: You know what I mean? I still act out.
- 24:31Speaker 1: And he in the NBA, so he didn't have to
- 24:33Speaker 1: grow up in the way other people did. So he
- 24:35Speaker 1: still has that.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Tradition in him.
- 24:37Speaker 3: So when I see the way he acts and I
- 24:39Speaker 3: see the things that Drake does and bringing out the
- 24:42Speaker 3: Backstreet Boys, I'm like, yo, these dudes, we grew up
- 24:45Speaker 3: at the same time. And the way I feel now
- 24:48Speaker 3: relates so much to what he does. And that's why
- 24:51Speaker 3: I give so much props when he does random ass
- 24:53Speaker 3: samples or random ass songs. I'm like, this guy knows
- 24:56Speaker 3: what the people in our generation want to hear.
- 24:58Speaker 2: And that shit's going to go off. And he always.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Gives them such a boost in their payouts when he
- 25:03Speaker 1: does that. You know what I'm saying? Which is like
- 25:05Speaker 1: one of the things that every artist that Drake samples
- 25:07Speaker 1: always says that he's fair with the splits and they
- 25:11Speaker 1: always see a big boost after. So they love working
- 25:13Speaker 1: with him. You know what I'm saying? Shout out to
- 25:16Speaker 1: Drake though, man. That detail and when I really thought
- 25:20Speaker 1: about that, I was like, yeah, man. That's how he
- 25:23Speaker 1: really also has really got a lock on that generation.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Speaking of generation.
- 25:29Speaker 1: The generation right before that Drake generation, man, the Jay-Z generation,
- 25:34Speaker 1: they're ecstatic about this Jay-Z Super Bowl, boy.
- 25:37Speaker 2: So you saw the commercial?
- 25:39Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:39Speaker 2: And he has all the goats.
- 25:42Speaker 3: So I hear there's, I gave it away a little earlier,
- 25:47Speaker 3: they're like, is this the time for Kanye's redemption to
- 25:50Speaker 3: come through and does he bring Kanye out?
- 25:53Speaker 1: I don't know. My gut says no because I feel
- 25:55Speaker 1: like Kanye would have to do a media... circuit.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Before by everybody in.
- 26:02Speaker 1: You know i'm saying but he still got time though
- 26:04Speaker 1: you know i'm saying now that i think about it
- 26:06Speaker 1: wait wait wait he got a lot of time so
- 26:08Speaker 1: yeah it depends.
- 26:09Speaker 3: But you know but does you think it would matter
- 26:12Speaker 3: do you think he like.
- 26:14Speaker 2: That would set off the super pool if they did
- 26:16Speaker 2: paris track i just think or we're in this town
- 26:20Speaker 2: i just think um You think Kanye's redeemed himself, though,
- 26:24Speaker 2: to be on that stage with him?
- 26:25Speaker 1: I don't even think it matters because the people that
- 26:27Speaker 1: Kanye offended, like, they don't... Like, the people that he
- 26:32Speaker 1: offended really take it to heart. You know what I'm saying? And, like,
- 26:36Speaker 1: a lot of the stuff he said was... Bro, remember
- 26:38Speaker 1: the other day I sent.
- 26:39Speaker 3: Y'all a clip?
- 26:41Speaker 1: I had never seen that clip. And I was like, bro,
- 26:45Speaker 1: this guy's insane, dog. Insane. And I'm like, bro... There's
- 26:50Speaker 1: so much footage that is out there of him saying
- 26:52Speaker 1: such insane things that, like, he has to go on
- 26:55Speaker 1: an apology tour beforehand. Unless Jay-Z is on something, like,
- 26:58Speaker 1: y'all don't even care. Like, you know what I'm saying?
- 27:01Speaker 1: He's not going to bring no Kanye out, bro.
- 27:03Speaker 3: But you think for Jay-Z's first and probably final Super
- 27:07Speaker 3: Bowl performance, would it just set it off if Kanye
- 27:13Speaker 3: was there?
- 27:15Speaker 1: I don't know, man. I think just overall it's, like,
- 27:17Speaker 1: tough just to think about, like, what he's going to
- 27:20Speaker 1: do because him just rapping, I don't see that captivating
- 27:26Speaker 1: the whole show. For somebody like me, yeah.
- 27:29Speaker 3: But if he brings Rihanna and Kanye to run this
- 27:33Speaker 3: town for the first time in 15 years.
- 27:34Speaker 2: That'd be crazy.
- 27:36Speaker 1: I don't think it's going to happen though, man. I
- 27:38Speaker 1: don't think so, dog.
- 27:39Speaker 2: How do you feel about just Jay-Z doing it anyway?
- 27:42Speaker 1: I get it a thousand percent and I'm going to
- 27:46Speaker 1: enjoy it, but When it was announced, I said what
- 27:50Speaker 1: I felt like people were going to say is they're
- 27:52Speaker 1: trying to see somebody dancing, jumping around.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Energy.
- 27:56Speaker 1: They're trying to see a big choreography. You're not going
- 27:58Speaker 1: to get that from Jay-Z, so we'll see what happens.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:01Speaker 3: I don't think he's going to do any beat cuts,
- 28:03Speaker 3: any album joints.
- 28:04Speaker 2: I think he's just going to do all his hits. Yeah.
- 28:08Speaker 3: If the kind of like the Bad Bunny did and
- 28:12Speaker 3: Weekend did and Kendrick did, they do all their hits.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Yeah, facts. And nothing on the side.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know, man. I don't know if we
- 28:22Speaker 1: see Kanye, bro. The political part of it, and I'm
- 28:26Speaker 1: not even saying political in the sense.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Of Democrats and Republicans.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Just the politics behind how many people he offended, so
- 28:37Speaker 1: many different groups. He's so outside the bubble when it
- 28:42Speaker 1: comes to in with the corporations and stuff like that.
- 28:45Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't see it.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Here's a good topic.
- 28:48Speaker 3: If we want to wrap it up with one more topic,
- 28:52Speaker 3: he has to give Kanye the benefit of the doubt
- 28:55Speaker 3: that he's not going to wild out.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 28:58Speaker 2: And how hard is that?
- 28:59Speaker 1: Exactly, bro. It's just such a big thing that he
- 29:06Speaker 1: would have to, and what we were talking about earlier,
- 29:08Speaker 1: we can kind of wrap it up with this.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:10Speaker 1: He would have to vouch for Kanye. And is he
- 29:12Speaker 1: willing to stake that reputation with this situation with Kanye, bro?
- 29:18Speaker 1: And it's like, we were talking about that earlier, like,
- 29:20Speaker 1: just about separate things. Like, that's why, like, bro, it's
- 29:24Speaker 1: very hard for me to, like, really vouch for somebody
- 29:26Speaker 1: or really side with somebody automatically because so many people
- 29:30Speaker 1: burn you with that. You know what I'm saying? That
- 29:33Speaker 1: you get to a point where you're like, bro, the
- 29:34Speaker 1: only person I can truly vouch for is myself. So, like,
- 29:38Speaker 1: outside of me, like.
- 29:41Speaker 2: I wouldn't recommend.
- 29:42Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. It's like, there's certain things that, like, people
- 29:46Speaker 1: are like... To me, bro, a lot of people are
- 29:49Speaker 1: just too willy-nilly with their endorsements, bro. And it don't
- 29:53Speaker 1: mean nothing. Like, there's certain people, bro, that they endorse
- 29:56Speaker 1: so many different people and things, like... That you know
- 30:00Speaker 1: they're not even using those people. You know what I'm saying?
- 30:03Speaker 1: They're just saying, oh, that's my homie, so I'm going
- 30:05Speaker 1: to recommend them. That don't mean nothing. That don't hold
- 30:09Speaker 1: no weight, bro. You know what I'm saying? You recommended
- 30:13Speaker 1: me to your insurance dude because you've been using him
- 30:15Speaker 1: and you vouched for him. And when I used him,
- 30:18Speaker 1: he was legit and did his thing. You know what
- 30:21Speaker 1: I'm saying?
- 30:23Speaker 2: Shout out to Mitch.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Shout out to Mitch, yo.
- 30:27Speaker 2: My guy.
- 30:28Speaker 1: The magic insurer. But, yeah, man.
- 30:32Speaker 2: It's hard, though, bro. It's hard.
- 30:33Speaker 3: Like I said, the benefit of the doubt, and there's
- 30:36Speaker 3: the people who are closest to you, feel the closest
- 30:38Speaker 3: to you, and you believe them, and you trust them,
- 30:42Speaker 3: and you vouch for them, and then later on you.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Figure it out. Now you boo-boo the fool.
- 30:47Speaker 1: No, facts.
- 30:48Speaker 3: For believing it, and everybody else was like, yo, you're
- 30:51Speaker 3: not believing the real shit.
- 30:52Speaker 2: And then it hits. And it sucks.
- 30:54Speaker 3: And that makes it hard to trust just anybody, even
- 30:57Speaker 3: someone who's super close to you.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Yeah. And it's like, that's why, like, bro, people can't
- 31:02Speaker 1: take that kind of stuff personal, bro. Everybody's responsible for
- 31:04Speaker 1: their own stuff. So, like, expecting people to, even expecting
- 31:09Speaker 1: people to vouch or expecting these, you know, things where, like,
- 31:13Speaker 1: you rely on somebody else to lift you up. Like, nah, man,
- 31:16Speaker 1: just do your own thing and then you won't even
- 31:18Speaker 1: be in the situation where you have to have somebody.
- 31:20Speaker 2: Vouch for you. Dependency is something that will bring you down,
- 31:24Speaker 2: in my opinion.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Nah, facts, 100%. Yeah. When you get people together to
- 31:29Speaker 1: do stuff, you want to get people that, like, they
- 31:33Speaker 1: can do the stuff on their own.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:35Speaker 1: So when they get together, it just makes it easier
- 31:37Speaker 1: for everybody. You don't want it to be a thing where, like,
- 31:39Speaker 1: you're getting together with people just because you want to
- 31:41Speaker 1: do it with people, but people ain't really holding their weight.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Like getting together with people who do a cheers without me.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Yo, the world-famous cheers, dog. The world-famous cheers. It's funny, dog, because, like,
- 31:54Speaker 1: you know... I was smacked too, you know what I'm saying? So,
- 32:00Speaker 1: you know, I got to throw my excuses on the table,
- 32:04Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying? But it's like, just like
- 32:07Speaker 1: the way my mind was working, it's like, we had beers,
- 32:10Speaker 1: you had a tumbler. So it's like, what am I
- 32:12Speaker 1: supposed to do?
- 32:13Speaker 2: Had a beer in my tumbler.
- 32:15Speaker 1: You're supposed to do like the same drink, you know
- 32:17Speaker 1: what I'm saying? Yeah. It just threw me off. And
- 32:19Speaker 1: then when I thought about it.
- 32:20Speaker 2: No, but we should mention that. It was dope. We
- 32:22Speaker 2: finally got the chat together.
- 32:23Speaker 1: For the first time. Finally got the group chat together, man.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Me and Quincy touched on it a little tiny bit.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Did you? But barely. We just mentioned it. But yeah,
- 32:31Speaker 1: it was dope, man. The first time we actually was
- 32:34Speaker 1: all hanging. Because we had linked up before, but it
- 32:37Speaker 1: was like.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Somebody was always missing.
- 32:39Speaker 1: Yeah, somebody was always missing. So it was like. The
- 32:42Speaker 1: one time we were all together, it was kind of
- 32:44Speaker 1: the same. Somebody was always hanging out. It was like
- 32:47Speaker 1: at a tailgate, right?
- 32:48Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 32:48Speaker 1: So everybody wasn't all hanging out together. So it was like,
- 32:51Speaker 1: this was the first time we actually all kicked it,
- 32:54Speaker 1: watched some football, had some- Some pizza and wings. Some
- 32:58Speaker 1: pizza and wings. Hanged out, had some drinks and vibes, man.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Got some dope little Polaroids that night, man. I've been
- 33:06Speaker 1: loving bringing that Polaroid around.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Yeah, that's dope, bro. That is dope.
- 33:09Speaker 1: It's been fun, man.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Same thing.
- 33:10Speaker 3: We're bringing that Millennials- trends back bro it's a trend
- 33:14Speaker 3: right now.
- 33:15Speaker 1: We need them bro we don't need to be disconnected
- 33:17Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying we need to be a
- 33:19Speaker 1: little connected that's the millennial way.
- 33:21Speaker 3: Like digital cams are coming back the Polaroids are coming
- 33:24Speaker 3: back like all that is amazing to me bro it
- 33:27Speaker 3: just takes me back to when things were simple facts.
- 33:30Speaker 1: Man we better bring that vibe at the event this
- 33:34Speaker 1: Thursday and make sure y'all stay tuned for the events
- 33:37Speaker 1: coming up we gonna switch it up for the holiday
- 33:40Speaker 1: season you know what I'm saying Because our events fall
- 33:45Speaker 1: on Thanksgiving and Christmas. So, obviously, nobody's pulling up for those. So,
- 33:50Speaker 1: we're going to switch it up, man. But I appreciate y'all.
- 33:53Speaker 1: And you already know. Stay buttered.
- 34:18Speaker 2: Thank you.
