- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Is it possible that applause could be our downfall?
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: Is it possible that we've been so good at what we've done in the past that the applause that we've received from others actually have us stagnated?
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: Where we're so locked into the applause that we actually don't believe that we can do it again.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Is that possible?
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: Do you ever wake up and have that feeling that although the future seems uncertain, the concept of starting again or doing something new creates even more uncertainty?
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: It actually invokes a sense of fear.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: If that's the case, I want to challenge you that the second half of life, it actually requires reinvention.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: It's going to require that we become someone that we've never been before.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: You know, in reality, people are afraid of failure.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: That is a real fear.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: Some people are actually immobilized by the concept of failing.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: But that concept, fear of failure, actually keeps people from beginning.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: They don't want to be a beginner.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: You know, there's a thing, uh being an expert, having achieved something and realized success in the past, and then you have to go back to being a beginner again.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: You have to count on someone else again.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: You have to learn again.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: You have to reimagine, redefine, reestablish again.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: Yes, those are muscles.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: And you've got the muscles, and we've got to use those muscles, right?
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Sometimes being in a rut, people think of a rut as a dark, dingy, dirty place.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: There are people that are successfully caught in a rut where they have the trappings of success, but yet they're in a rut.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: They can't move to another chapter in life because they're stuck here.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: They're locked in this identity, they're locked in this role, or they're locked in this level of success that's rutted them.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: I would challenge you today, especially because we have no time to waste.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: In this quarter that we're in right now, the best version of you is actually waiting on your willingness to re-up, to do it one more time, to re-engage.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: I would challenge you with the thought that there's more in the tank.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: It's not empty.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: There's more in there.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: And it's just sitting, waiting to be activated.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: And the only person that can come forth, the only one that can bring out the you that's been trapped inside of sameness, can only be released by the you that you are today.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: I want to challenge you to just believe one more time that just possibly there's something out there.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: Just grab a piece of paper and just write down some thoughts and ideas regarding the future.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: What exactly do you want your future to look like?
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: What do you want it to look like?
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: Is this it?
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: And if you just think about the way the days are unfolding, if it continues at this pace, where does it end?
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: I believe that nothing happens by accident.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: The reason that you're listening right now is that there's more, and it's calling you.
