Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to JFK Book Reviews. My name is
- 0:05Speaker 1: Joe BURRELLI and I am joined by Rob Clark. We
- 0:08Speaker 1: are the co hosts of the Lone Gunman podcast on YouTube,
- 0:12Speaker 1: and today we will be reviewing the book Judith very
- 0:18Speaker 1: Baker in her own words by doctor Walter Brown. And
- 0:23Speaker 1: I think this might be one of our first finner boys, Rob,
- 0:26Speaker 1: I mean, don't smack it too hard, you don't want
- 0:29Speaker 1: to break it.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Well, it helps you actually smacked it. There you go,
- 0:38Speaker 2: it's a boy. It didn't break good, good well.
- 0:42Speaker 3: It is one of our dinner ones that we've done recently.
- 0:46Speaker 3: It is deceptively decent in length at two hundred and
- 0:50Speaker 3: forty six pages. This book was published in the year
- 0:54Speaker 3: twenty nineteen Joe by Cleaning Publishing and Companion Brothers Publishing.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Shout out Mike Swanson, Wallstreet Window dot Com for all
- 1:06Speaker 3: your stock trading and money needs no friend of the show.
- 1:13Speaker 3: And Walt Brown has authored several books on the JFK assassination,
- 1:19Speaker 3: including this one again on Amazon. For this book, I
- 1:29Speaker 3: have it on Kindle. I think it's two ninety nine.
- 1:33Speaker 3: You can buy a copy like Joe has for about
- 1:35Speaker 3: twenty two bucks, and there's a copy on there for
- 1:37Speaker 3: four hundred and thirty three dollars and ninety eight cents
- 1:44Speaker 3: if you really really want to spend a lot of money.
- 1:48Speaker 3: I don't know why. I mean, hopefully Walt Brown blessed
- 1:52Speaker 3: that with his own body. Maybe it's written in his
- 1:56Speaker 3: own blood or something. I don't know.
- 1:59Speaker 1: We're the first one printed here.
- 2:01Speaker 4: Yeah. Of course this book deals with a conspiracy lean
- 2:08Speaker 4: because the because Judith very Baker herself has conspiracy claims.
- 2:15Speaker 4: So while it is a technically a conspiracy leaning book,
- 2:18Speaker 4: it is more of a myth busting.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Truth telling, setting the record straight kind of book. But
- 2:25Speaker 3: that means, said, Joe, take us into some of the
- 2:27Speaker 3: meat and taters of this book.
- 2:31Speaker 1: All right, Well, what was the author's goal in writing
- 2:36Speaker 1: this book? Well, that is very obvious, and it was
- 2:39Speaker 1: to show how ridiculous Judith Ferry Baker's claims about her
- 2:44Speaker 1: relationship with Lee Harvey Oswalt are. So. Judith Fry Baker,
- 2:48Speaker 1: in her own words, critically examines Baker's claims, primarily from
- 2:54Speaker 1: her book Me and Lee, How I Came to Know,
- 2:57Speaker 1: Love and Lose Lee Harvey Oswalt. Baker search she was
- 3:00Speaker 1: Lee Harvey Oswald's lover in nineteen fifty three in New
- 3:03Speaker 1: Orleans and involved in a plot to develop a cancer
- 3:06Speaker 1: inducing bioweapon to kill Fidel Castro. She also claims Oswald
- 3:11Speaker 1: confided in her about the events tied to the JPA assassination,
- 3:14Speaker 1: portraying him as a big trade figure trying to save
- 3:19Speaker 1: President Kennedy. Doctor Brown's book analyzes Baker's narrative, quoting her
- 3:24Speaker 1: extensively and juxtaposing her statements with his research to highlight
- 3:28Speaker 1: inconsistencies and question their validity. So let me read you
- 3:33Speaker 1: one passage, and this is Judith Barry Baker's in her
- 3:38Speaker 1: own words, a description of Jack Ruby's killing of Lee
- 3:45Speaker 1: Harvey Oswald. Jack Ruby was an emotional man, no doubt.
- 3:49Speaker 1: He wished he did not have to take this task
- 3:51Speaker 1: upon his own shoulders, and I think he almost backed out,
- 3:54Speaker 1: but he loved quote the boy, as he called Lee
- 3:58Speaker 1: too much. Ruby was sterile and can never have a son.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Lee was so close. Lee was as close to a
- 4:07Speaker 1: son as Jack Ruby ever had. So Jack went through
- 4:09Speaker 1: with it, though apparently he took his time. Jack might
- 4:12Speaker 1: have been the man who called the police and warned
- 4:15Speaker 1: them that someone might kill Lee Harvey Oswald. But I
- 4:18Speaker 1: believe that soon after he made this call, he probably
- 4:21Speaker 1: decided to do the job himself Ruby, instead of having
- 4:25Speaker 1: Lee die at the hands of a stranger.
- 4:28Speaker 3: So he wasn't shooting blanks that day, was he, Joe?
- 4:32Speaker 1: He wasn't. And you know his his murder of Lee
- 4:37Speaker 1: Harvey Asswalt was, according to Baker, an act of mercy,
- 4:41Speaker 1: which kind of highlights some of the ridiculous claims that
- 4:45Speaker 1: she has. And I won't spoil it to give doctor
- 4:48Speaker 1: Brown's commentary on that. But and it's interesting because Baker's
- 4:53Speaker 1: statements like mix some truth in with her lies and
- 4:59Speaker 1: execut right. So Ruby was, for instance, a very emotional
- 5:03Speaker 1: man and indeed did wait until the last second when
- 5:06Speaker 1: he had other opportunities to shoot Lee, like for example,
- 5:10Speaker 1: the midnight press conference. And in my experience, some of
- 5:13Speaker 1: the best liars mixed in truth with their exaggerations. But
- 5:18Speaker 1: back to the book, it is very well written and
- 5:22Speaker 1: extremely in my opinion, and very easy to read and follow.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Along with the author's analysis of Judith Baker's claims. He
- 5:29Speaker 1: takes their claims one by one chronologically and systematically debunks them. However,
- 5:36Speaker 1: it is probably not a book for people just getting
- 5:38Speaker 1: into the JFK assassination, as the author assumes the reader
- 5:43Speaker 1: has a fair amount of knowledge and background in the
- 5:45Speaker 1: assassination and the characters involved. The book does not have
- 5:49Speaker 1: an EndNote or index section, but it does provide sourcing
- 5:55Speaker 1: within the book as the timeline goes on, and he
- 5:58Speaker 1: provides evidence against Baker's claim, like quoting testimonies and depositions,
- 6:02Speaker 1: but a lot of the debunking comes from his point
- 6:06Speaker 1: of view and based on common sense accepted facts in
- 6:09Speaker 1: the assassination. I would have personally liked a little more
- 6:12Speaker 1: sourcing in some areas, but but still really great. So
- 6:19Speaker 1: I'm going to throw it back to you for your
- 6:21Speaker 1: thoughts and reading, sir.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Thank you. Joe. So, I understand why Walt Brown wrote
- 6:28Speaker 3: this book in the style that he did. Again, there's
- 6:34Speaker 3: a fine line between libel and slander when you're just
- 6:40Speaker 3: writing a book that basically is calling somebody in their
- 6:46Speaker 3: entire life a liar. So he was very clever in
- 6:50Speaker 3: the way that he did this by using her own
- 6:52Speaker 3: words against her. It's very hard to argue that as
- 6:57Speaker 3: being libel or slander. And bravo to the publishing companies
- 7:03Speaker 3: for publishing this book. For those of those of us
- 7:08Speaker 3: in the JFK research community who understand people of the
- 7:14Speaker 3: ilk of Judith Barry Baker and the damage that they
- 7:19Speaker 3: do to the conspiracy side of things when they tried
- 7:25Speaker 3: to integrate themselves into the story and basically try to
- 7:32Speaker 3: lie and pull the wool over everyone's eyes that they
- 7:36Speaker 3: were somehow involved in the story or a part of something,
- 7:40Speaker 3: or have intimate knowledge of the case. You know, if
- 7:47Speaker 3: if true, it's the most fantastical story that you've ever
- 7:54Speaker 3: heard about the assassination, which is why she probably should
- 7:59Speaker 3: have her book as a straight up fictional novel, because
- 8:03Speaker 3: that's what it was, instead of trying to pass it
- 8:06Speaker 3: off as a true non fiction historical event alongside her claims.
- 8:16Speaker 3: For those of us who have looked into her past
- 8:19Speaker 3: and can understand where it is that she came from,
- 8:22Speaker 3: why she inserted herself into the story, and her previous
- 8:26Speaker 3: claims prior to even writing a book, you know, you
- 8:32Speaker 3: have to kind of know all that to understand the
- 8:35Speaker 3: damage that she has done to this community. And I think, well,
- 8:40Speaker 3: I know what, like I said, I know why I didn't,
- 8:41Speaker 3: But to understand the reason behind this book being written
- 8:47Speaker 3: you have to understand all of that as well. With
- 8:50Speaker 3: that being said, I did enjoy the book. I thought
- 8:54Speaker 3: it was very clever the way he did it. I
- 8:56Speaker 3: love his writing style, I love his humor. And with
- 9:02Speaker 3: that being said, Joe, I'm going to give this book
- 9:05Speaker 3: an eight out of ten guns up, baby.
- 9:14Speaker 1: It's very solid, sir, And I'm kind of right there
- 9:17Speaker 1: with you. And you know, my did Judith very Baker
- 9:24Speaker 1: work at Riley Coffee Company with Oswalt for a brief
- 9:28Speaker 1: amount of time? Yes? Did they have any contact? Maybe,
- 9:34Speaker 1: but you can't tell because she lies so much, so
- 9:38Speaker 1: you can't take any of her claims seriously. But back
- 9:42Speaker 1: to what the author was trying to achieve, I think
- 9:45Speaker 1: he achieved exactly what he wanted to in this book
- 9:48Speaker 1: was to point out how ridiculous and insane her story
- 9:53Speaker 1: and is about Lee Harvey Oswalt. So that being said,
- 9:57Speaker 1: I'm going to give it a very solid seven point
- 10:03Speaker 1: five guns up, sir, and for three dollars on Kindle,
- 10:07Speaker 1: it's definitely worth the read. If you have any questions
- 10:10Speaker 1: on due to very Baker's claims.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Very good advice, Joe. So with that, folks, if you
