- 0:00Speaker 1: Josh, what's up.
- 0:00Speaker 2: You're on the air. Hey, what's up? All right? So
- 0:04Speaker 2: I have a crazy story about my job.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Okay, just out of the blue, just call him for
- 0:08Speaker 1: no reason.
- 0:09Speaker 2: I love it, just just no reason, just just because, Okay,
- 0:12Speaker 2: do it. What do you got? Okay? So I'm an
- 0:15Speaker 2: EMT right empt student in Mesa and we do what's
- 0:19Speaker 2: called a ride along. So it's basically just like getting
- 0:22Speaker 2: experienced before you get stuck on an ambulance and you
- 0:25Speaker 2: have to like do stuff. So we get a call
- 0:28Speaker 2: it's like you know, late forties mail sprained ankle and
- 0:33Speaker 2: we're like okay, whatever, easy call. We go, and this
- 0:37Speaker 2: guy is just difficult from the get go, like he
- 0:40Speaker 2: is he is like crazy about going to this one
- 0:43Speaker 2: specific doctor and he's like this is an emergency, like
- 0:47Speaker 2: I'm gonna die. I need to go, and we're like, okay,
- 0:50Speaker 2: just calm down. And he sees on our patient care
- 0:54Speaker 2: report that we marked him as a green that's a
- 0:57Speaker 2: priory level, and so it's basically just saying like, you know,
- 0:59Speaker 2: he's okay, he's not gonna die, he's a stable patient.
- 1:03Speaker 2: We can like treat him and then take and he
- 1:06Speaker 2: flips when we find out that he's a green. When
- 1:08Speaker 2: he finds out that he's a green, and so he's
- 1:11Speaker 2: freaking out, he's getting so upset, and all of a sudden,
- 1:14Speaker 2: he just he just like he grabbed his chest and
- 1:16Speaker 2: he goes ooh and he falls and I'm like, what
- 1:20Speaker 2: is going on? And it turns out, like you know,
- 1:23Speaker 2: it's like all like chaos breaks loose. Come to find
- 1:27Speaker 2: out he got so worked up and so upset about this,
- 1:31Speaker 2: like about going to a specific doctor that he had
- 1:35Speaker 2: a heart attack. And he just like just like mid flipout,
- 1:41Speaker 2: had a heart attack. And we just all freak out,
- 1:45Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, activate cardiaculart. You know. We're like, we
- 1:47Speaker 2: gotta get this guy on the ambulance. Go, go go.
- 1:49Speaker 2: And it is just like I'm just standing there in
- 1:51Speaker 2: shock because this is like one of my very first
- 1:54Speaker 2: ride alongs ever, and it's just like out of the
- 1:57Speaker 2: blue heart attack.
- 1:59Speaker 1: See that you gets so worked up. That's why anxiety
- 2:02Speaker 1: is such a bad deal.
- 2:03Speaker 2: You're not agreed anymore. You're not agreed.
- 2:05Speaker 1: I was about to.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Say, seriously, are you the guy not real quick ready read?
- 2:13Speaker 2: It was? Yeah, it was ridiculous. I'm like, gosh, like
- 2:17Speaker 2: it was probably a good thing that that happened, because
- 2:19Speaker 2: he was like a ticking time bond at that point.
- 2:21Speaker 2: If it didn't happen, then it would have happened soon.
- 2:24Speaker 2: So now where are you in your career?
- 2:26Speaker 1: Is this day two? Is this?
- 2:28Speaker 2: Are you in? Are you? Are you? Like?
- 2:29Speaker 1: Forget it? I'm not gonna be a e MT.
- 2:32Speaker 2: It's like, you know, I'm I'm a few months in
- 2:34Speaker 2: to ride along. I'm still getting experienced. I'm about to
- 2:38Speaker 2: take my national registry. Super stoked. It's been a ton
- 2:43Speaker 2: tons of fun. Nothing like that recently.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Or isn't that that craziest thing you've seen? You haven't
- 2:48Speaker 1: have you gone anywhere else? And and there have been
- 2:50Speaker 1: dead people or car accidents.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Or oh yeah, dead people, dead people galore.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Yeah, what part of town? Yeah, what the town has?
- 3:02Speaker 2: I would think something mostly meysa. We do transports between hospitals,
- 3:06Speaker 2: but we don't see dead people doing those. But yeah,
- 3:13Speaker 2: oh it was it was a motorcycle accident. It was, Yeah,
- 3:20Speaker 2: it was a motorcyclist and he he got sideswiped into
- 3:24Speaker 2: the barrier and he fell off the bike onto the
- 3:28Speaker 2: side and was rolling along the barrier because he got
- 3:31Speaker 2: pulled along with his bike and it just it chopped
- 3:35Speaker 2: his legs clean off.
- 3:36Speaker 1: My is that a red Is that a red mark?
- 3:39Speaker 1: Or is that Since you can't take him, that's what's
- 3:40Speaker 1: called a.

- 3:45Speaker 2: have to It sucks, but we kind of have to
- 3:47Speaker 2: play god when we're like on these scenes and decide
- 3:50Speaker 2: if you're like realistically gonna make it. And I mean, yeah,
- 3:54Speaker 2: we showed up and he had already had irreversible shot.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Oh yeah, it was.
- 4:02Speaker 1: If anything like that ever happens to us, you're the
