- ariel: did you guys see our new ghosty video? Yes. I I mean I saw it obviously. I'm pretty freaking happy with it. They were fun. It was literally yeah, usually we had last year. And we almost did it last year and then it was just too hard to achieve because we would have to go get on a ferry that's further away from where we were. Mm-hmm. And then it was like trying to figure out would we have our friend Amanda shaves her grandma's cat take the photo. Like how are we gonna do it? And she could be busy shaving her grandma's cat. She she has a lot of there's a lot of things that she could be doing like lots of cats to be shaven. There you have no idea. Yeah. So many. So many. And it yeah, what worked out again that we were going up to Orcas Island to visit my kids, which we've talked about before and Yeah, just we were like, all right, we're on the five forty five AM ferry. So Sunrise Ferry, it was empty. There's like nobody there, thank God, because I said to that one person that was taking pictures. Yeah, someone did take a picture of us. So if you ever see someone to took pictures of ghosts on a ferry, that was it was us. But you know, anyways, but it was like the we're like sitting in line for the ferry and Meg and I do not sleep well before we travel. Like that, like it's so hard to sleep. And so we're And we had to leave at two o'clock in the morning. Yeah, like literally two o'clock in the morning. And I said to I was Did you sleep? She's No. I was Yeah, me either. I just was laying and I was like, and then when I was laying there, I started thinking, like, but what if people think that we're like trying to do the KKK? And she and then like, God damn it, Raina. And then and then I saw a comment. Did you see my response? I did. Someone literally said this is so too close to the KKK or something. First of all, nothing's pointy. Okay. And I also said just shut the fuck up. What did I say? I said something like find s why stop trying to be mad about everything. Stop finding the bad in everything. Yeah. This is like this is a normal trend. like literally l we're ghosts. It we are ghosts. We are not And it's something people do every year. Come on. Freaking Brussels sprout. And I feel if you listen to us, you know where we lay about things, and we do not support anything like that. No. And if I actually thought even remotely That the ghost photos looked like the KKK, we would never even do them. No. What I was worried about was us on the fairy putting sheets over ourselves and people being like, What that was what I was concerned about. Not the actual final product. Because the final product is clearly a fucking ghost. It's a ghost, guys. And this has been a trend. This is our fourth year doing it. Yeah, which I'm gonna upload all the other ones. Like our first year was pretty goddamn good. I think our first year was it may have been. I think it was my favorite. I really like the fairy, though. The fairy was really good. It was good. We had a good time. And we poor Mr. Booboo was our photographer and her daughter Lucy was our behind the scenes capturer of and we even went up to Mount Constitution on Oracle Island and got some. That was the one I really wish we had was a video of us at the top. And I don't think we have I don't think we do. Because we were at the top of this huge lookout tower and goes it would have been so funny to start it off like where it like zoomed in. Yeah. And then all of a sudden it would have been so good. That's why I was asking. I mean the one with the heart. I mean, there's always next year. And us going, yeah, we could do it next year. And and when I was up on the tower, obviously I yelled down at Tex, Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt like elderberry. Yes, you did. They were quoting quoting quoting things constantly. I have quotes morons. You would hate it if we didn't. No, I would hate it if we didn't. It is my favorite. We also hosted a cocktail podcast for like my cocktail situation, like right before we left or soon before we left. And We're literally in the middle of the class, or like the class is just getting started, and Meg's on one side and Texas on the other, and they're fucking bickering. And I like look at the people in the class, I'm like, does anybody else's husband and best friend just fight like brother and sister? And everyone was just d dying laughing. It was like those two morons. That's it. That's it. I mean, whatever. We have a joke. I'm ready for it. And this is also leads back to I think it was on Orcas Island when we discussed it. I can't remember. But What do you call a redneck on fire? What? A firecracker. that was that was a good one. That was that was what we discussed. We discussed the word calling someone a cracker that Yeah, and I had the th the god guys, there's more to this story. There is. I don't remember how we even got on it, but I'm like, Do you know where that came from? It's actually a really terrible thing. It's a a a cracker is a white person, like not a good white person. Like it's a bad sling. And it's 'cause what I was taught the internet's gonna come for me because they do that. What I was taught was that it was from like a slave owner like cracking a whip. Which makes complete fucking sense. Right. Here I am thinking they were calling us like a Ritz cracker. But then after I I can't I don't know if we told the story yet. We talked about the trip, but I don't think we did. No, and we were on the way home. Forty five no, it was like 45 minutes later because we were driving. That's right. And we got to the ferry landing, got out to go get wine, shocker. And I get a text message from my little sister on like in our group thread being like, wait, you guys, I just found out what crack being a cracker actually means. It's not like being a Ritz cracker or salting cracker. And I so I had to call her and be like, the fuck, we just had this conversation. It was one of those weird, trippy like, how the fuck? Like, cause we were having a ours wasn't a social media related no conversation. It was completely I don't even remember how it came up. I think we were just I don't even remember how we got on it. I don't even remember. But anyways Anyway, so I saw that one. saltine. You're not. You're it's bad. You're salty. How about an oyster cracker? An oyster cracker. man. Well, hello and welcome to Lunatic Soup, the podcast where we go into all things wild, weird, and unknown. We're your host, Meg. And I'm Raina, ready to rip some Lunatic Soup. Let's go. So sorry about last week, you guys. Yeah. one of us got COVID. Just didn't realize it was a thing anymore. I mean, I did, but my kids, I Pretty positive, brought it home from summer camp. They both had really bad colds. I was thinking that they got they got home and they both had little coughs and colds, whatever. I didn't think anything of it. I have a a autoimmune situation. So whenever I get sick, I get sick tenfold compared to what they do. And I it was bad. It was bad. I I still am okay. Even today, I'm still like ten days. Yeah. It's fucking rocked my socks. It was not fun. And then in bed, dying, couldn't get out of bed. The brain fog was horrific. The migraines this time have been the worst. That's been because you know, every time you have it, it's like diff different symptoms. Yeah. I've had it more mild than this. This one was probably worse than the first time I got it, I want to say. really? yeah, it was Yeah, I am one of those, I'm you're gonna hate me. I'm one of those lame ass people who don't get symptoms. Yeah, and which I think is a but good for you. I just I get sick with everything. So I die. And then today, you guys I was at total line and more. It's not funny, I'm sorry. Well, it is kind of funny. And I was filming a vlog for my social media for myself of just like all the alcohol I was buying. And I was buying this beer, a six-pack of beer, and I go to pick up the six-pack and it's like up above me. And it the bottom of it falls out and a beer falls. And I try and like catch it with my foot. Like try so I like kick my foot out and it slams into the side of my ankle, falls on the ground, and breaks anyways. You guys are fucked up my ankle. I can barely fucking walk. It's huge and swollen and She literally just got to the point of getting out of bed. Literally have just been able to be alive and now I can't fucking move. It's just me. So that's cool. I was talking to my friend Jenna. I was she was like, It would be you. I was she's like, I was like, this wasn't even me being clumsy. It wasn't even my fault. I'm just like I might have to. I mean, but if it was, like, what were they gonna do? Put a boot on and well that they might do yeah, I'd probably have to be booted. Just boo. And it's my right foot, so the driving is like Either way, the driving's not good. It hurts so bad. I like nauseous and shaky. That's the only reason I'm worried I'd like did something because of how much like I have a pretty good scale of pain tolerance of like things when things are very injured versus like I'm used I hurt myself all the time. I don't know. I can't well this one I actually can't tell. It's not funny. I'm very clumsy. But the video. yeah. I caught it on video. Uhhuh. I mean I didn't catch the actual ankle hit 'cause I was trying to catch. Mm-hmm. It didn't work. It was all over. It was Travis Kelsey's brand, so you know. That's right. And the in the comments. In the the text I said stay away from beer. Yeah. Stay away from Travis Kelsey. Clearly. Clearly. It's not even like it's fucking like four percent beer. It's water. It's water. I just got it 'cause I like trying to I'm trying to lean into like we're tailgate season. Yeah. You know, it's like football season for my content. Like I'm going there. Some foos ball. I'm thinking like I think the Kelsey brothers would think balls of beer are hilarious. Th they would think balls of beer were hilarious. So And then what you gotta do is like put it together like you know what I went through to give you guys I'm going to. Don't worry, I'm gonna show photo evidence of my fucked up ankle. Anyways all right. Well today it going through all of that, we're not even drinking cider because one, we didn't fucking feel like it. Let's just be honest. It we didn't fucking feel like it. Yeah. I don't want a cider right now. No, I and after today I needed a goddamn drink. Like a fucking proper drink. So I We were gonna go with wine and then and then we I only have red wine. I forgot to bring a bottle of wine. I was also going to b buy Kim K at My favorite, our favorite, at the store when I was there, but I was in so much pain I've left my shopping list behind and got the fuck out. So I hear that Travis. Literally ruined my night. That is a big deal. It is a big deal. Huge. Anyway, so we're drinking a dark and stormy. Because it's actually dark and stormy today. Is that did I use that right? Did I use it right? That's right. Okay. It's very on brand for us because it's dark and stormy. The first dark and stormy day. Uhhuh. And then And then we use the crack and rum and it's like spicy. Crack and rum is spicy in the back of your throat. It feels so good. Mm. I love it. There was one Christmas that I ordered my husband a d I mean, I have a really hard time when I see like this is how many liters or ounces or whatever that I remember them. And so I ordered one. I got the big one. And then I I got it and then The UPS man came the next day with another one and I'm like, Huh. My husband and I both got each other one. So we have a lot of rum because they always get me every Christmas because they do the free shipping and then the Kraken Rum puts in like little glasses, like they're like fun, like little tentacle things. They're really fun. If you ever need rum, I got you, boo. I love it. I have so much rum. So much rum. Because I'm almost out now. Well I know where to get some more. You want spiced rum? You want dark rum? You white rum? See, my problem is I go through it too fast. Mm. I go through it very fast. It's well, I go through a lot of output. I feel like this is rum season now. It is rum season. It's rum season. I mean, I guess it depends. People some people like tropical rum thinks. And mm, that's not me. Because I don't like tropical drinks. See, I love tropical d I think rum is rum is fine any time of year. So how come we haven't gone to the beach and done the didn't? I know I took you send me that videoing. Yeah. I I told you I was gonna do it for going to Lake Powell and I was like, I'm gonna do something like that if I can walk. We should just go down to the Puget Sound and just And just run. I'm in. you had another thought. No, go. No, I'm I don't shall we? she Good Lord. She just burped. I'm not I'm not I would never do that. Who's editing? I'm editing. are you editing? Well, I assume so. I guess. This has to air tomorrow. my god, I didn't know it was Wednesday. Four fifty PM. So I assume it's gonna be me. All right. You might get an unedited version of this because who wants to set up editing? No, not me. I'm not gonna set up editing. So don't fuck it up. Yeah, Reina. All right, today We are gonna talk about the Ariel School UFO incident. I'm very excited about it. This is a good one. Do you know anything about it? I just know that it di some aliens came down at a school in Africa and it was documented. Yes, that it happened very well documented, and that the aliens came down and I've seen videos on it, but I I'll be honest, you know, don't over here. I can't remember anything. So you're gonna jog all my memories. See, I wanted to watch a few documentaries on it, but you know. Time got away from me. You mean you single parenting all week? Okay, I'm not gonna complain because I know there are actual single parents. My husband's been gone and I have four children. It's the first week of school and it's been a lot, you guys. Mm-hmm. It's yeah, I don't blame her. No. You n you didn't actually text me and say, God, he actually does a lot around here. Shut up. Also, by the way, I was just never mind. No. Continue your. I was about I'm just it's about the NFL and about how pissed off I am because I couldn't find the Seahawks on this thing that I was I'm trying to order pizza for my kids for dinner. And I found it. But because getting the best pizza, you guys are gonna think I'm so disgusting. My favorite pizza is Little Caesars. I love I actually think Little Caesars is delicious. Of all like I don't think it's bad. I I mean it's not real pizza, right? It's not r like like real pe like real pizza. Like but what is Pizza Hut and Domino is not real pizza. Exactly. So there's a difference. There's a difference between like real pizza and then like fast food pizza. And as far as the fast food pizza goes, give me I told you before, give me a little Caesars on a Friday night, extra mostbestis sausage. Yeah. A glass of rose, nice and crispy, cool glass of rose. Put me on my couch. Put something spooky on the TV, and I'm I'm I'm gonna be close to that, but on my couch with probably a cocktail. Let's be honest. Or actually, I'm gonna do a glass of red wine. But I just I don't give a fuck. My house cleaner was here today. I don't want to get my kitchen dirty. Nope. I can't fucking walk. My husband's gonna have a late meeting. I'm fucking ordering goddamn dominoes, okay? Do it. I'm doing Caesars. that's what I meant. I hate fucking hate dominoes. I meant little Caesars. Just shut me up. Anyways, start telling me a story. We are gonna be. This takes place in Rua, Zimbabwe in 1994. So You I was six, you were significantly older than me. Seven. You shut the fuck up. So Rua was a small agricultural town about twenty two kilometers southeast of Harar, which was Zimbabwe's capital. Okay. I'm gonna say all these wrong. Probably but I'm doing my best. it it wasn't really even a town. It was more like crossroads and they had a school. Okay. So it was very, very tiny. Aerial school is was an expensive school for the area. It was a private school serving mostly children from affluent, largely white families of Harar. So wow, okay. It was kind of like an international type school. Okay. The school had playing fields and beyond the playground there were rocks, trees, and different ground that people could hide. Animals could be like anything could kind of hide back there, which I think is important when you're talking about a story like this. Yes is, yes. the kids were from there was some kids from Zimbabwe, there were some kids from South Africa. There were some British kids. There were kids from all over. And they were it was a very well known school for its science, like like global media, its science education. It was a it was a really good school and they they had kids from all over. So a couple days before, so two days before the incident, on September 14th, 1994, a bright fireball was seen across parts of South Africa at night. People called Zimbabwe's national radio to report it. So everybody saw this fireball from all over Zimbabwe. Okay. From this town, from the capital, from the south, from all over. So a rocket reentry. Some people think that maybe it was a rocket re-entry. Okay. because the Zenit two rocket was coming around at that time and sometimes when that, you know, re re enters it'll cause burning streaks and stuff like that. But a lot of people didn't know that, so they see this thing up in the sky and and it's not really conclusive as that if that was the right location either. So it's not for sure it was that's not for speculation that it could have been that. Okay. Yeah. There are some other sort s there are some other sightings by people in the area saying that they saw streaks going across the sky during the day too. Okay. so everybody's kind of on edge at this point in the town. Mm-hmm. And then we move on to what happened. So on September sixteenth, nineteen ninety four, it was around ten to ten fifteen AM during the mid morning break, there was about a Ten to fifteen minute time frame where the kids went outside. Most teachers were inside at the time. There was a staff meeting. So they say, and this isn't all the reports, that all the kids were outside. Most of the kids were outside, but there wasn't any adult supervision. Which for as someone who works in the school district, that would never happen. Yeah. That's a but I mean different country in nineteen ninety four. Nineteen ninety four. Different country. They they They do things and it's not just a different country because this this school had like all these different influences with it. So maybe that's just how they're Just how they did it and just let the kids run wild. Yeah. so the children were playing on the sports field and playground when they began pointing towards the sky. And kind of off in the distance where we talked about like those rocks and stuff beyond the schoolyard, the kids kind of all stopped and started playing. pointing at it. So the accounts kind of vary in deep detail, but there was a few core details that all the kids had. Mm-hmm. So children described a disc shape or oval craft roughly 10 to 15 meters in diameter. That's pretty freaking big. That's huge. What's that, like 45 feet? Yeah. Like 30 to 45 feet? Yeah. Because a meter is about three feet, right? Yes. That's so So that's big. That's huge. That's really big. Somebody some say it was like metallic grey and with a dome. Some people say it had a dome on it. Some people say it was more like a disc. Okay. Which is some say that there were windows or port holes around it. Some say there weren't. Which I guess if the lighting's right, you could kind of see or sometimes you couldn't. It depends how really far away. I guess yeah, and it depends on what yeah, w where the light's hitting it, where you're standing, maybe. So they say that there was one large silver disk descending behind the trees and rocks. There were several smaller objects moving rapidly across the sky and there was a craft resting on or just above the ground. So there's were multiple crafts. Okay. Not every child reported seeing a craft. Some only saw figures, others only saw lights or movement. And that makes me wonder, does it have to do one, were the was the craft or the beings like deciding who gets to see? Yeah. Were kids just don't pay attention sometimes. That very tweak all the time. Yes. Or was it like an ability thing? Ooh. Like people who are more sensitive could see. Interesting. I don't know. But I thought that was interesting. That is interesting. But that's like that it could be like s yeah, kids with abilities or kids with like certain Yeah. Wow. Okay. so after they s all these kids stopped. All these kids looked at it. And I think it's interesting to point out that these were kids from all over the world because everybody has different stories and different backgrounds and different lore and it's a different legend. And they all still described the same thing. Okay. You know what I mean? Which always we always say in these kinds of things, like when someone else sees it and it's like a consistent like everyone saw the same thing. Right. We're gonna believe it. And you're not just going to, well This was my upbringing, this was my lord. Right. This is my yeah, what I was taught. Right. Because that's what your brain does. It tries to equate it to what you know. Right. But they all were describing the same thing. And they were from all over. And they were from all over. So after watching these crafts for a little bit, the children described small humanoid beings coming toward them. Mm-hmm. They were dressed in tight fitting black or dark blue suits. They had very large black eyes and elongated heads. They were described as moving in strange kind of gliding or floating. Some described them kind of jumping from one place to another. It wasn't normal step movement. But it like, okay. Yeah. Levitating. Some children reported one one figure, others reported two or more. The children were asked to draw the craft and draw what they saw. And I'm gonna show you the pictures. So these were from different children, kind of all describing the same I pulled up a stupid Facebook article. That's not what I w Anyway, you can see. yeah. So these are obvious kids' drawings, but they all describe the same thing. Get a bunch of kids together and you know, you'd have to really coach them to all draw the same thing. Thousand percent. Especially yeah. I do art with kids all the time. You teach your sh it fucking Even when you really coach them to all do the same thing. You literally coach them and tell them to do exactly this and then they're all fucking someone is like, What does that mean? How do you do that? What does that look like? Sometimes they eat the stuff that you're trying to use. So often. So often. And I'm like, how old are you? Then these are I'm not talking about the babies. No. I'm talking about like the fifth graders. Like the idiots. Mm-hmm. Okay. All right. So that's interesting. That is interesting. They all kind of have like these dark figures, elongated heads, slanted eyes. the the crafts are all very similar. Like I said before, some of them have windows, some of them don't. How's that pizza order coming? That's great. Except for why does it want to tell me the calories on it? I don't fucking know that. I mean not I'm gonna eat a whole thing. that kind of negativity and you gotta get the Italian cheese bread. That's my favorite. Which one is that? I don't know, it's like five bucks or something. Italian cheese not the crazy bread? you get both. So you get cheap No no no no no. right there the Italian cheese. Italian cheese bread. It is but if I get that then my kids need a cheese pizza if we have that too. You know? What's wrong with cheese bread and cheese pizza? Well nothing. They just won't eat all of it. I just don't want a shit ton of leftover pizza. Well then you just eat it for the following day. Well I know though that's true. I never worry about leftover pizza in my house. It will get eaten. I mean us too. We're big I'm big. Pizza's like my favorite food. I freaking love pizza. Freaking love a pizza. I'm bringing my daughter to New York and I cannot wait to get a good slice. A good slice. A good slice. That was my when I got we got snowed in New York City and we got a good pizza. We got Pizza and it started snowing outside and we are stuck in our hotel room and we turned on Grey's Anatomy and I like there's there are worse places to be stuck when you gotta warm hotel room, endless wine, pizza right around the corner. I mean I yeah, it was it was it could be could have been worse. Could have been worse. We were very happy. So then the children started talking about telec telepathic communication. Damn. their telepathy came claim said that they communicated With their minds, not their words. Okay. Like these messages just came to their mind. And well, what was the message? The children all said that it was warnings about environmental destruction. And then they all said that these images would flash through their mind about pollution, technology going wrong, and the earth being harmed. Technology going wrong. I mean I feel like we're in the middle of that right now. I feel like I feel like we're I feel like it's just getting started. I'm terrified of what is just getting started, to be honest. Several children reported feeling sorry, I went and took a sip. I needed a sip of my dark and stormy. It's so delicious. It's one of those when we were trying to decide what to drink and then I was like, I ginger beer. So I said Moscow mule and she goes, What about a dark and stormy? And I'm like, why the fuck didn't I think of that? I know. I was surprised, honestly. I was surprised. And then it was dark and stormy. And then we had yeah, we we've already been through this before. I know, me too. so the children then described what they said was just this fear response. Mm-hmm. They started crying, they started running away. Like what the message that these beings gave to the children came with intense fear. Which makes sense because one, these are children. Mm-hmm. I i if I do feel like if aliens are trying to get this message out, why would they do that? But then again, you think if they do it to them when they're young and terrify them, maybe they'll grow up to like help I don't know. Didn't work. Well, true. Like tell you know, scare the younger generation so then as many of them and then as they grow up they'll be they'll have the fear because they're the ones who saw instead of like people who are already set in their ways. Our generation Yeah, it would have been our children. Yeah. Honestly would be a good tactic if they did it a ton of times to a bunch of people. Just one little school doesn't make that big of a difference, I guess. I mean, we're talking about it thirty later. But people generally don't believe it children. That's true. Like mm hmm. So mm hmm. Anyways. Look at Greta Thornburg. Well, she's not a child anymore. No, but I hate it when people talked like say that kid. She's not a kid. She's a full grown woman. No, yeah, literally. Shut the fuck up. Whatever. People are such jerks. Mm-hmm. So the kids ran back inside. Recess was over. They ran back inside. They were scre crying. They were sobbing. They were terrified. And they told the teachers what had happened. The teachers dismissed them. They said this was an imaginatory story. They were all left outside while the teachers were in a meeting and they were completely dismissed. Sent the kids home. That evening the children went home and they told their parents and the parents came to the school the next day, said something serious is going on because the parents start talking to each other. And you know, you know, I mean, they didn't have text message back then but you know how that works. a thousand percent. Yeah. Yeah, the school actually gets really upset about that and I think it's gonna say hilarious. I think it's hilarious. Like I had said something to a teacher and they go, it was about like school starting and whose teachers were what and I said, they're starting, you know, so and so this and so and so has this and they're so excited to be together. the t the parents are starting early this year. I'm like, We're excited. I mean we it was always the thing to go Figure out who your teacher was and be excited about who's in your class and who's not like. I know. It was just it was said in such a negative way, and I'm like, whatever. Shut up. What like let people like you said earlier, always finding the bad in something like Yeah, well, because people do, they just look for people just want a reason to be miserable. I don't want to be miserable. Me either. I'm literally happy, happy, happy, happy, happy. I'm listening to an audiobook right now from this neurosurgeon about how it's like the power of positive thought on your brain and negative thoughts. And it's like literally he calls it like doing your own y like brain surgery on yourself is like what he calls it. But he's like an actual like neurosurgeon and all this stuff and so I felt like tell me the name of the book. Yeah, I'm listening to it now and it's it's very interesting. And it's very like you wanna argue. I can't argue with you. You mad. You have no idea what I'm talking about. Nope. You can't argue with me. What what is it? What is my god, I'm happy. Leave me alone. No jog my memory. Are you kidding me? I I'll probably know what when you say. Hey, hang on. Okay, I found it. Choo. Look at you, you man. Look at you, you big. Fucking idea what that is. Never seen that in my life. So it's like a social media salary. Yeah. I wonder what it's from originally. I don't know, but I love it. No fucking idea. I thought it was a movie and I was gonna be like, I'm actually shocked. I don't if it's a social media thing, I'm shocked, I don't know. I love it. Makes me so happy. Like relentlessly on there. Okay, so this the teachers came in and or the st parents came in, sorry, and were like, something happened here and you need to take this seriously. And figure it out. Our kids are terrifying. The teacher said that they never saw a craft or a beans and they were very skeptical of what the children said that they saw. Which I fucking tell you it's Just thinking about when they all come in from recess, like even if they're a full of them and they'll start saying stuff and you're like, Okay. And you know which kids are full of shit. Yeah, because there's a lot of full of shit kids and you're just like, Yeah, tell me the fucking story again. Right. so Cynthia Hind was a local UFO researcher and she was a prominent Zimbabwean researcher. She heard about the incident via the radio and like went right to the school. Yeah. She did interviews that week and she interviewed the children within days of the event as soon as she heard about it. And she did in small cro small groups. She collected the drawings. She published accounts in the UFO literature and noted that the children's drawings and stories were sh very consistent despite being produced separately. So she talked, she had them do the drawings and then she talked to them. Okay. It's like when you like discover a robbery or something and they ask you to do drawings separately. Like they give you the little thing with the body on it and you have to like try to figure out who what he looked like sort of thing like that. her early documentation was crucial because it predates another person we're gonna talk to, who has a lot of kind of controversy about it. But this shows the story and what it looked like initially. Okay. So that's where we get our initial story. Tim Leach, who was BBC's Zimbabwean correspondent, visited the school on September 19th. So that's three days later. He filmed interviews with the children's staff and captured fresh recollections. And then the BBC coverage presented the case as a publ puzzling mass sighting. And they thought it was gonna be dismissed, but the public was like, mmm, that's kinda weird. Yeah. And the public did not want to dismiss it right away. Good. But it also didn't confirm that there were extraterrestrials. Right. you will see this this this footage still used today in like UFO compilations on YouTube all the time. Mm-hmm. Then John Mack came into the picture. He was a professor at Harvard Medical School, a psychiatrist and a professor. He was a Pulitzer Prize winning author, known for his controversial work on alien abduction experiences. Yes, he was a Pulitzer Prize winning author. Yes, he was a Harvard Harvard Medical School psychiatrist and professor, but he was already in hot water because of what he was documenting, talking about, researching. Okay. People, I think it's actually probably more okay now, but 30 years ago, people who who were into UFOs, all that stuff, they were ostracized. Didn't matter how smart you were, it doesn't and I think to a to an extent when you get high enough now it still is, but I do think it's a lot more like, Okay. yeah now. But it is we know this because w we watch documentaries where they tell us that they they purposely made anybody who was researching it like made crazy the public say that they're fucking crazy. Mm-hmm. Okay, so he was kind of already on the outskirts of everything. Yeah. which kind of doesn't go good for a story like this. Like when you get like a unreliable narrator. Right. Well that But how was he unreliable? Was he unreliable because people thought he was crazy because he believed in aliens and UFOs. Yeah. Yeah. So about two months after the incident, Mac traveled to Zimbabwe and spent days interviewing the children. He interviewed them individually at first and then in small group interviews, asking children to describe what they saw and felt and encouraging them to draw and elaborate. Which I'm not a child psychologist, but that sounds pretty reasonable. Right. Right? To interview them. Sorry, I'm burping a lot, you guys. It's a it's very bubbly ginger beer. I was struggling over here too, fighting for my life. And I'm the one that has to read. I don't, I just to sit here and listen. but But yeah, that sounds pretty reasonable on how you would do. You want to talk to them individually, you want to talk to them together. I do feel like talking to them together would be like, yeah, then this. yeah, yeah, yeah, and then this. You know, like not that the kids are doing this intentionally, not that they're trying to make things up, but that's kind of just human nature, right? Yeah. he concluded that the children were sincere and not fabricating a story. He believed that they had experienced something anomalous, I love that word, outside normal explanation. But he did not definitively label it as extraterrestrial. Okay. He filmed interviews that show the children visibly emotional, describing beings with large eyes and messages about the environment. These clips are heavily featured in later documentaries. Critics say that Mac in these interviews was asking leading questions. His interest in alien contact and spiritual themes may have shaped the way that he questioned the children and enforced certain narratives like telepathy, environmental warnings, things like that. But that's why it's important that we had this Zimbabwean uFologist before because she got very similar stories. Yeah. Maybe his were more concise, but she had kind of the same thing. Yep. because Mac was already known as taking UFO experiences seriously, skeptics say he was pre dis di predispositioned to interpret everything that went on as alien. Cause we hadn't heard alien at that point, but you know, if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, like it's probably a fucking duck. It might be a duck. It sounds like it's a fucking duck that's an alien. The children's drawings and chorus story were consistent throughout. The drawings that he had them make were the same ones that they had already made. Mm-hmm. The story that he had that he didn't have them told, the story that they told him were the same stories that they were telling the teachers, the parents, the Right, like the ufologists like. And what is the biggest thing in like a murder thing or whatever? When people's stories are consistent, when things don't change. That's when like when they jump around and they change all the time, that's when you're like, I mean and people are Notoriously unreliable narrators and children even more so because they have more of an imagination. They're still they're trying to make sense of a world that they don't understand, right? Literally, and they'll come out with some crazy shit, and you're like, I saw a comment thread the other day and it was kindergarten teachers saying the crazy shit that they're kids come to school and say, and it's just the things that you're like, you just wonder what your kids say about your house, like to teachers that you're like, please know that please don't to please know that that's not what actually goes on. I had a teacher one time say I won't believe everything they say about you. You don't believe everything they say about me. So valid. No, it's so true though. I had one of my kids tell a teacher that I make special rice crispy treats that they're not allowed to eat. No, the wine wine rice crispy treats. That's what it was. The teacher demands fields. Yeah, the teacher messaged you was like wine rice crispy treats. She goes, I need I want some and I was like, Yeah, not wine. It's not wine. It's not wine. It is legal though. It it is But it's not wine. Not wine. That is so funny. my gosh. So all these people who interviewed this the students from Hind, Leach, Mac, parents, teachers, news news broadcast scenes, me they saw the same thing. Yeah. In the daylight, close to in close range. It wasn't like two football fields away. It was it was relatively close range where they could clearly see what they saw. They all had the same fear. They all said that they were scared. They thought they were going to take us. And some of the students said, quote, I wa it was like nothing I'd ever seen before. Like it was mesmerizing. Mm-hmm. They were described looking at each other, realizing that they were all seeing the same thing and then watching it together before the fear took over and they went back into the school. Damn. you can see a lot of the clips from this actual event in the UAP press case filed in a documentary called Aerial Phenomenon, which is very interesting. I did watch some of the clips. It it is like you know, when your kid is experienced something, it they show it on their face. a thousand percent. You what after it's something. Something terrifying something. Yeah. I not only terrifying, but I think it was also mesmerizing because they knew what they were seeing was unexplainable. Well, and to have someone speak. To you through your head, like through your brain, like telepathically, is like that would fuck you up. Yeah because like that it makes no sense. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. they still stand by their story because a lot of them are adults now and a lot of these children will s go on do interviews now and they still stand by their story today, thirty years later. Damn. They talk about the same craft, the same beings, and the same emotional tone. And that's the the theme throughout. Craft, beings, emotions. And it has to do with the environment. some say the experience shaped their views on the environment, spirituality, or the possibility of non human intelligence. Yeah. But the kids are still very it it they're not still say they're not saying that this was an alien. Right. They're not saying that this was a UFO. Maybe because that was what have bastardized so much? Yeah. Could it be that that they don't want to go with that, but they saw something? But like Or maybe it's just like how it felt didn't feel to them what they would think seeing an alien felt like. Does that make sense? Like the feeling of it. They didn't it yeah it scared them what they were saying, but they felt peace with them. Like felt like not afraid of them, I guess. I don't know. And in the in the documentary Ari Ariel Phenomenon, they interview the a Adults and they show them themselves as children giving these accounts and getting a reaction out of the adults. And you can see the reaction in the adults is not, I made that up. yeah. It's like I'm they they they like go back to it almost. Like I want to watch damn. Yeah. Okay. Now there's a lot of skeptics. Of course. There's a lot of skeptics. So that's this that's the story. Yeah. That's what happened. And we're still talking about it today. Like thirty years later, we're still talking about it. So a lot of people frame this as a case of children's suggestibility. Because they are highly highly influenced by the world around them. And maybe one or two said little men were running around and then they all adopted that. I don't think that's the case when you see how these adults are talking. Right. But that's one of them. Yeah. with no adults outside, the children were free to build a shared narrative. So basically they're saying this was a mass hysteria. Okay. I can see it it does happen. Yeah. It does happen, but the details are very interesting. They had ten or fifteen minutes. You couldn't get a schoolyard full of children to all agree on something in ten or fifteen minutes. That's it. A day? Yes. Ten or fifteen minutes? Yeah. No way. I mean, I could see I could see even a a classroom full of kindergartners coming together with a couple of hours, which they wouldn't be unsupervised for a couple of hours, so that kinda throws this out. But coming together after a long period of time, we're gonna prank people. But then ultimately one of them is gonna crack. One of 'em's gonna crack. Someone is gonna say, I didn't actually see it. There's there's always the kid who's, you know, was tells the truth, tells nothing but the truth, so help ye God. You know, whatever. The the teacher's pet who wants to Right. No, but there always is. There always is. And now there's also there was that prior UFO buzz because of that fireball that streaked across the street. Right. The whole country saw it, surrounding countries saw it, everybody was talking about it. So that could have planted a seed to where but then all these kids would have had to know what UFOs were. And they didn't necessarily say that a fireball was a UFO or was an alien or was a thing also it's nineteen ninety four, like what If they're children, it depends on where they're raised, but like do they know what UFOs and aliens even are yet? Telepathy is. Well that's what I don't even call it telepathy. They said they didn't speak with words. Yeah. I just heard it in my head. So how would they even know that? How would they even know? You ask my youngest, my six year old, what is telepathy, she's not gonna know. No. I don't even know if my my eleven year old would know the w she knows what telepathy is, but I don't know if she would know that word. I don't know if she would know that. I also don't even know if my kids at like a younger age even knew fully what aliens are. Like besides like maybe from okay, 'cause we have cartoons nowadays that have a bunch of But like in the nineties I mean, I would know what an alien was in the nineties. Like when you're seven, six, seven? shut the fuck up. My God. Earlier today we're driving home and my daughter's uncle, my husband's younger brother sent her a Snapchat and he's like up in his apartment building zooming in on this car, and there was a six seven on the top of the car. And I'm like, I maybe he thinks you're younger than you are. Yeah. So what my freaking daughter does is she Turns the camera at me as I'm driving and just starts zooming in. My oldest. yeah. Sends it to my brother-in-law. He has the wrong age bracket. He should be sending that to the the younger one. Or the youngest. The youngest. No, it's the youngest. that's the For sure. Yeah, definitely not the high schooler. The high schooler is like six-seven, she goes, I don't get it. I'm like, Really, Mia? You don't get it? You get it. I said it was just the wrong age. Wrong wrong one. Bruh. So that's one of the the angles. Another say it could have been a person wearing unusual clothing. There's not enough to back that up. There's not enough to back that up. So they were saying that it could have been a person in unusual c clothing, a vehicle or piece of equipment partially obscured by the trees. That doesn't make sense because they were some above the trees. They were so like they were in different places. Yeah. It said it and a disc. There what cars that look like discs? Yeah. I I mean even like I'm trying to think of a car back then that would have looked like a disc. a Volkswagen buck? Maybe. But that would be I'm thinking E. T. Kate was out too, so I guess kids would know what fucking aliens are, now that I'm saying not like the nineties. Yeah, because that would have been in the seventies. But it also just depends on what you're being introduced to from at home with your family. Like if you're not that these these structures were what'd we say, forty five feet? It's fucking huge. Like that's not a Volkswagen bug. No, that's not. That's by any means. But what yeah. So I don't know about that. And they they said maybe it could have been animals or shadows. Misperceived as figures. Okay. That float and I I mean, I yes, it's all a possibility that it could be that, but like what it just remember it was daytime. Right. So it wasn't like the Dover Demon where it's a night, the cover of night and do but all of them with a telepathy with them talking about how they walk. Mm-hmm. And they all said the same thing. Again, try to get a group of kids to agree on anything. Yeah. In fifteen minutes. So yeah, right? So and other people are skeptical because there's no photograph or video of the craft or beans and there was no traces documented. So like there was no burn marks, there was no landing marks, there was nothing like that. But that's typical. But that's fucking aliens. They're not gonna leave a trace. No stupid. And it's and a lot of people think that it is the lack of adult witnesses that put a a kind of do we believe this on it. Yeah. In here. And But even if there were adults, people would still be doing the same thing. Right. No one ever believes this stuff. Nobody ever believes this stuff. so skeptics also say that the children were interviewed after discussing they could have been interviewed after discussing it among themselves, which we know they were because they went to the teachers first and then they went home to the parents. Yes. So that is true. I still think getting everybody to tell the same story is gonna be really hard when you have six year olds to twelve year olds And the ones they and they are everywhere. Who are the teacher's pet, who are the I'm not gonna lie, I don't lie. There there are ones that will there some kids are just they're not. Yeah. If everybody's in on it, there's gonna be one that's gonna be like absolutely and especially in a whole school, there's gonna be a couple of them that are like, fuck no. So if everyone is saying the same thing, that to me tells me that it actually happened because And none of the kids disagreed. See that they were all telling the same thing. There's no way there's not a teacher's pet. There's not a you know, the the firstborn Who has to tell the truth who the rules the this like there's always No, that was fake. Yeah. Like, no, we got together into Somebody, somebody would have cracked. Somebody Somebody would have cracked, for sure. Would have been one of mine. Wouldn't have been mine. Mine would have gone along with it. Mine would be like, What? You saw an alien? Yes, you did. Yes. I did too. And I saw that alien. And I shook its hand and we're best friends now. And it came in and we had harvest of cookies. We made pancakes. Flat ones. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. What was what was his name? Joe's Joe's Pancakes. Was it Joe? Joe's Alien Pancakes? I can't remember. I don't remember either. I don't remember. I just remember Alien Pancakes. It was one of our episodes we did. Early, early, early one. Was that the one I was drunk on? Is that where the donut came into play? I think it was. Glazed Donut. The glazed donut. And I had gone out for mimosa's with Michelle and come back, and you guys were horse feeding me pizza because I was drunk. That was a very unhinged episode. I wasn't unhinged. I'd like to listen to that, I feel like, but it affects the audio. I don't I don't know. I did I think that one was very unhinged, is my memory. This is not telling don't go back and listen, guys. The audio is terrible. We've come a long way. We have. I mean, unless you really feel like listening with terrible audio. Who knows what happened? So even with all the skepticism skepticism, that was a hard word. The aerial phenomenon is considered one of the most striking close encounters cases. Yeah. Especially of of the time of the 90s. So how many children do you think were on that schoolyard? Fifty. There were 60 to 62 children between the ages of six and twelve all reported seeing something. That's impossible to get them all to agree. It just improves me of thinking of our children all out at recess. Yeah and something happens which been there in when I was a kid, whatever, where something's going on and everyone's like, What the hell is that? And everyone like goes to see what's going on, but except for this just presented itself. And they separated the kids and asked them to each draw what they saw without them prior Prior talking about it. But like the kids aren't all gonna then meet up later at school and be like, okay, make sure when they talk to us, we tell them we we draw like didn't if they ask us to draw something, everybody draw this. That is not how kids fucking work. No. They're they're not all like That's not even how adults work. No. Like that's ridiculous. some people say that the psych psychological impact on the kids, the showing fear and distress and all of that. made them hunker down more on it because they were getting more attention from it. Some say that that c and I could see that. I could see that being something. But they still all agree. They saw something. Yeah, and the people that interviewed them said said that they didn't seem to be in like they were in distress at the time, but that fear had passed. They were just recounting the fear. I feel like ask a child psychologist, someone who works with children all the time, and the any they will tell you that kids will not Like they're not gonna all stick to this lie. No. They've come up bullshit. No. That's not gonna happen. Something that has developed over time from when they were kids, again, because they didn't have the terminology, is now that they are adults, they talk about the they. They have kind of come to the conclusion now as adults that they were non-human intelligence. They were otherworldly beings, and they call them they. Interesting. They were warning us. They were trying to give us a message. They're trying to help us, sort of thing. So even though they felt that fear, it wasn't a fear of the creature of the being. No, it's a fear of It was a fear of ourselves. Yeah, like what they were doing. Like a warning. And now that these children are now adults, because this was thirty years ago, they're understanding that message. So it took a whole lifetime for them to understand that message, but they are understanding that message. I feel like I'm understanding it. Listening to I mean just I saw this video of this guy literally sending in h in his application for the aliens to come and take him. Let's go. And I was like dying because it's like er in the comments, everyone's like, We are definitely to the point where it's time for us to start applying to the aliens to come take us away from this. And I'm like, my god. Come on, let's do this. I mean, let's just take my whole family and make sure we live a nice, peaceful rest of our life. Just that's all I want. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Stop with the madness. So there were some social consequences. These adults, now adults, say report that they are still mocked, they are still disbelieved, but some have found communities that have embraced their stories, and I think that's pretty typical. You're gonna have people that just their community, their group of people just will not accept it. A thousand percent. And you're gonna and then you're gonna find people who break away from that and find community that does. Right. And let me tell you, the community that does is a lot more fun. Way more fun. Are you kidding? Way more fun. Way more fun. She has her daughter calling her trying to figure out like rides to and from school. And she just like it's happened a few times that we've had to pause. And just then she's telling her daughter, she's like, Now, do you want this left in the podcast? And her daughter's like, Yes. And then she's like, wait, but can you blur out the names? And I'm like, No, it's too much effort. Too much effort. Sorry. Too much effort. Too much effort. The whole thing's getting cut. You're cut. So What do you think? Like, so we have What do you think? What do you we we know what I think? Multiple consistent testimonies, consistent drawings, consistent video interviews, right? We we don't have is physical evidence, adult eyewitnesses, and we don't have any instrumental data. We don't have radar, we don't have anything like that. Photos, nothing like that. But given what we know now about UAPs. think there's something. I think there's something that I mean. Yeah, I I fully believe there's I just I can't get past that all the kids would say the same thing. There there's just no way in fucking hell. Personally I have more disbelief in the people that came and interviewed them. Yeah. Than I do in the children. A thousand percent because like this Mac guy, he has he's pretty ostracized in the community. I don't know enough about him to make that assessment, but I'm cool with that. Like I can be okay with not believing him. It doesn't mean I don't believe these kids because it was multiple people. That is I it's the kids all saying the same thing. No one's cracked and said, If our children, we have seven children. If our children all came to us Yeah and all said, Mom, Mom, Mom, Dad, Dad, Dad, look, this is this just happened. And they're all talking to us and they're all chattering. And they're all saying the same thing. I would believe them one thousand percent. Just with our seven just with ours. Ages from six to fifteen. Yeah. They wouldn't be able to coordinate a story to come and tell us. And one of them would find it. In fifteen minutes. In fifteen minutes. There's no fucking way. There's no way. And these kids have all had the same story for thirty two years. Well, I fucking believe it. I believe it too. I totally believe it. And now what we know because I mean I guess they could have had their your typical UFO, but you you mentioned E. T. Yeah. E. T. is not like one of the little green men type UFO type alien. Right. I mean, did that exist? Yes. Could there have been influence of that? Yes. But not with what was popular at the time. But like the floating too, like E. T. doesn't didn't cover that. No, E. T. didn't float. He kind of barely could walk, man. And was there like over his feet? I don't know. He was kind of like a tank. He was like a tank. Right? Yeah, he was a tank. Mm-hmm. He was like a blob. Mm-hmm. Hmm. E. T. Phone home. I haven't seen that movie for so long. It scared the shit out of me too. my god, I couldn't watch it. but are there alien crafts in that? Yeah, because they don't they come down and grab him in the woods and lights everywhere. You know? But there was that the alien or is that the CIA F B I probably haven't seen the movie in over thirty years. I mean, same. I have no fucking idea what happens. And then there's Close Encounter of the Third Kind. Okay. Yeah. But I mean, I guess there's also things like Star Wars, Star Trek, where all the Muppets from Space. Muppets from Space. Excellent one. That's a good one. I mean, yeah. But either way, it's for me, that could all be play a part, but the part that obviously is the kicker is all the kids saying the same thing. That that it no planet Sixty children. It's fuck it fucking happened. Saying the same thing. There's literally you could not convince me otherwise. If they're all saying the same thing, it happened. If there was okay, at the school last last year, on the last day of school, somebody's miniature donkey got out in the neighborhood and it was right around the parking lot. And a wonderful music teacher had to go catch it. Yes, I recall. but if all the kids out there were out there, they'd still all have a different story. Yeah. On something like a donkey running through the parking lot. Like Yep. Uhhuh. So this is just and I don't think it was just the the the witnessing it. I think it was the interact interaction and the feeling. Yeah. If they didn't have that feeling, I think the kids would have been quicker to abandon the whole story. A thousand Especially once now we have this person coming. Are we in trouble? You know, like all this stuff. Yeah. I mean, damn. I think it happened. I agree. I don't know what happened, but I think something happened. I mean I think aliens came down and talked to them. UF UFOs. UFOs. They use their ESPN. They're EFP and UFOs. I do think that is what it is. I personally think yes. That made me cough. Don't choke and die. You choke on your own saliva. I that's what I was. There was nothing in my mouth. I was choking on my own saliva. Did you give me COVID? I mean probably. We did share drinks like literally the day before I tested positive two days. Mm-hmm. It's fine. That was a delicious dark and stormy. Yeah, let's have five more. Okay. Just kidding. I got this. I did buy this new stuff today at Total Wine and more that I've been seeing everywhere. It's a pre biotic. Yeah, for drinking. So I wanna try it and just see. So I gotta get drunk to test it out. Mm-hmm. For science. There was that stuff. Do you remember the night of the election when we were drinking at my dining room table and we're like, no, it's fine. It's not no, it's still o No, it's gonna be f And then we drank two bottles of wine that night. It's weird 'cause I don't remember it. Like I believe you. Actually I do remember. Yes, because I came over and we were. Yes. That stuff works really well. They at Total Wine right too. They have that there. Mm-hmm. This one is just more expensive. So I'm just ki I'm always curious to try. I I think the plug one works. There's just another one that I've gotten off Amazon that I think works the best out of all of them that I've used. It's just expensive as fuck. this one I think is expensive too. I didn't even know how much it was. When I bought it, I to look at my receipt. Right off, you guys. It literally is. Because it's all for whatever. And I make a video about it and say, does it actually fucking work? Well, that plug stuff, I can tell you guys, it does she loves it. I already look at your birthday. Yeah. For me. For me, and I think everybody's different, right? Because everybody's body is different. Yeah. And it depends on what you're drinking and w what you're doing. But for your birthday, it worked great. Yeah. I need you to figure out a way because I was thinking about doing a series on this of like hangover cures or hangover. remedies or like whatever and do a series on it of like what works and what doesn't. But then it all I feel like then for clients you have to personal. It is personal and you also have to be consistent about like for me, my hangover that I get on like tick like drinking tequila all night versus like drinking vodka versus drinking white wine or red wine. Like it's all a different hangover or a different like if I'm mixing everything. So I'd have to be consistent. I'd have to be consistent about what I was drinking for all of these tests. Only drinking tequila tonight. You're well not now. You're only drinking rum tonight because why is the rum gone? It's Raina. I mean it is me. Nothing to do with me. But then I have to have red wine. It's raining outside. That's like a rule. Is it? I think so. I don't know. I made it up. It's my rule. We're in Seattle. It's raining all the time. Did you order your pizza? No, yeah, it's ordered. It's been ordered. Done ordered. Are they are they delivering it? They're supposed to. we'll see if that happens. But it didn't realize that it goes through DoorDash. yeah, driver on the way. Okay. Pizza's coming. It was cheap. Did you get the extra most bestis? I did. I got I got exactly what you told me to get. See see, that's why I like it because I can feed my whole family for like under fifty bucks. I was shocked how cheap it was 'cause I was expect usually nowadays to get pizza's like between seventy five and a hundred dollars at least, depending on at least. This was I got a classic cheese, extra most best Italian sausage. That's the best one, you guys. I got the extra most bestis pepperoni. Uhhuh. Italian cheese bread and then a crazy bread. Yeah. And it was And with tip was fifty five dollars. Isn't that great? You guys. Delivery from DoorDash. We used to get our typical this will never ever happen again because of how cheap it was. But we used to have our standard little Caesar ordered. Yeah. And you wanna know the price? Yeah. Twenty three nineteen. We've got a twenty three nineteen over here with Monsters Inc. Remember. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's what I was going for. I mean, I love it. But like, pre COVID. Yeah, remember 'cause you used to be able to get a pizza for like five bucks. It was yeah, it was their five dollar pizza. Because we would get those sometimes too, 'cause we a little Caesars down the street that Tex would just go pick it up. Yeah. Because you couldn't get delivery. We still have it right down the street. No, sorry. When I was living in Federal Way. My bad. My bad. Like a long time. Like my my brain was going to when I remember Yeah. Buying it all the time was when we were living love. You guys I love trash pizza. Stop calling it trash pizza, just pizza. You're gonna have people in the mean you pizza. I understand it's a different category. We're not in fucking Italy. No, we're not. So where there's a fucking pizza. And I will tell you I had pizza in Italy and they put fucking hot dogs on it and French fries. So I was it called something that's not that fucking great. Yes it was. And it wasn't just at one place. It was all over Sicily. And I was like, What the fuck is going on? So there's a lot of stuff when I was in Europe, like American style, and it was like a fried egg on top. And I'm like, What? Like, we don't do that. That's a thing in Australia. They put fried eggs eggs on burgers all the time. They got us confused. They did Americans and the Australians. They both start with an A. Assholes. What? Which one? All of us. No. Australians are way better than we are. Way better. Your our your friend our friend Naomi sent us a message last weekend. She was with her kids in the park and there was a bunch of freaking kangaroos everywhere. She was walking f across the street to the footy club. That's what it was. I she has to walk to get from her house to the football club, which is like basically where everyone has to I read that as she was with her kids doing sports. She was drunk walking. 'Cause she even says in the thing I saw that later that she but you know sometimes sometimes we have our water bottles and there's a little She said I tried there. No, this is where the football club is. Everyone goes over there and drinks and then you the amount of times I've walked back from that football club to her house, even my children remember the last time we visited that we walked across the golf course to the to their house and 'cause someone stole a cone or something. I can't remember. My kids remember this too. Yeah. No. That's It's a drunken it's a lovely little I can walk across Was like soccer club. No, it's just like a like like you bring your kids. Like your kids are practicing. That's what I thought. They probably were. There's a bar. There's a Australian culture is fucking fantastic. Apparently. It is. You just need to have a bar open at the football club. Your kids are practicing. They just live life. And they enjoy a good drink all the time. That's why Aussies are my favorite people. Good day for it. Great day for it. That's what he says. All the time. He meaning Mr. Boo Boo. Mm-hmm. Great. Yeah. No. And it but it is the best. It's like that it was my favorite thing because we had this, they were in a small town. This is not all over Australia, but most places you have a football club, like smaller towns, like on the outskirts, and that is like your community. But footy is not football or soccer. It's like a combination. It's Australian. It's Australian rules football. It's not rugby. It's not soccer. It's like it's like a mixture. Yeah. They like hit the ball with their fist and then they like will kick it. And they all run and then they tackle the shit out of each other with no pads and very short shorts. It's crazy. There's a lot of blood. Sounds like rugby. no. No. They do have the shorts. They the short shorts. They Very muscle. Rugby, they like get in a pack of them and like do this like weird. I don't fucking know. I don't know. This is like this is it's such a fast moving game. It's like as fast moving as soccer. Okay. But it's completely it's n it's fucking It's a weird Well, go sports. Yay sports. I actually love footy. I just didn't like watching Yay bowls. Yay balls. But it was fantastic. You just go there and you you have sh you get a drink and the bar is open and everyone has drinks and you're there and I like I like it. You you do chips with gravy actually. Chips it's not like poutine. It well not well, yeah, it's like poutine. But chips are fries. Chips are fries, and but they don't do cheese on top. There's no cheese, unfortunately but with the gravy, I mean I'm it's chicken. But she's had our leaf. the chicken salt. Chicken salt. Yeah. One that your your second child always gets brought over from Australia. Yes. Because she loves her chicken salt. Addicted to her chicken salt, yes. But no, it's one of the things that I miss the most about Australia is like that culture of like the footy club and like everyone hanging out there and it's I think it's just the hanging out. Well, it's just yeah. It's just the hanging out that's beautiful. I think everyone's there and you just go there and see everybody. And it's kind of like when we go back to visit, I like wanna go during football season because I wanna go to the footy club. Because I mean there's pe things going on there year round, like cricket there or what the fuck is the there's a sport. Netball. Not my favorite sport. Sorry, Elise. is it's weird. It's like broomball. Basketball, but you don't move. Huh. You stay stationary and like pivot and throw I don't know. But it's not basketball. I'm gonna try curling. Yeah, Godspeed. Tex played broomball for the For for for Australia. He came to Minnesota. Minnesota. And played. Okay. Pretty big deal. Yeah. Kind of a big deal. Kind of a big deal. Not fabulous. well she that was the aerial school phenomenon. So it was a short little thing that happened. There's not a lot of details to it, but the impact, I mean, was huge. I'm ready for them to come down and talk to me telepathically and I'll be like, fuck that. Yeah, like, can I Can I come with you? Can I come with you? Can I come with you? Please. Please. Or can you like take some people away and send them to I don't know. There we go. A lot at this point. A lot of people need to go. That was my other goal today was buy to buy a new bottle of champagne to put in the fridge because I just feel like it I feel like it might be soon. I has to be. Like we're hanging on by a thread. There people are dying at eighty years old. Not the right ones. You guys Dolly Parton and Tim Curry. Tim Curry. I I know you're not big Dolly Parton. I fucking love Dart. I I love Dolly Parton. Dolly Parton's wonderful, but Tim Curry. I mean Tim Curry is yeah. Mop at Treasure Island. I've got cabin fever. I've got it too. I've got it too. nothing like it. And obviously. He was he was Nigel Thornberry from the Nut Royal. I didn't know that. I when I was watching a tribute to him, I didn't realize that he was his voice. That's those ones sucked. That all sucked. And then it's been the funniest thing. Everyone's like, I said Donnie, not Dolly. And then the other one that I saw was like, you know, he's he's like 80 years old. Yeah, he was in Home Alone 2. Yeah, he's kind of a dick. yeah, all these things and then they're like, got it, got it, got it gonna get it. No He made it into heaven? What? Yeah No! Not Kim Curry! It's gonna be rough watching Home Alone this year. I'm not gonna lie. yeah, with Catherine Hair too. And the dad died a few years ago. Shit. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Well, in in brighter news, this has nothing. You won't care. I can't care. I just found out that my childhood Favorite band ever, one of the Hansen. Yep. Taylor Hansen is on Dancing with the Stars this season. And that made my day. I love it. That actually made my my aunt text me and she was like, I don't know if you're still a big Hansen fan. And I was like, I will be a Hanson fan till I die. Somebody asking me if I still love Steven. Yeah. I just got bullied all like as a kid for being a Hansen fan. I yeah, I knew what you meant. Well sure Tex has a brother named Steven, that's why she had declared. Just just you know, and just it's Steven Tyler, okay? He's my favorite human. Deceased. yeah, Hansen will like I used to get made fun of so hard for being so obsessed with Hanson. everyone would make fun of us. And we're still known to this day. Like people have known me since elementary. They're like, Are you still a Hanson fan? I'm like, Fuck yes I am. You once a fan, always a fan. Always a fan. Always a fan. Unless they do something nice. I will say there's been a few questionable things from the youngest one who was the one I had a crush on, but I don't really know. Alright, well, we've bullshitted enough. Have we? All right. Well, you guys, why don't you make sure you go and get yourself some lunatic soup? And remember, in this crazy world. It is goddamn good to be a fucking lunatic. It is, because we need more joy in this world, you guys. We really do. So let's just live it. Live it. Be a lunatic. It's much more fun. It is much more fun. And go check out our ghosty video. Yeah, go do and make yourself a dark and stormy. On a dark and stormy day, too. Bye.
