- 4:17Speaker 3: Everything the Scotchie Bourbon Boys.
- 4:19Speaker 3: We're going to be doing some upgrading.
- 4:21Speaker 3: It's just like the podcast and the Facebook and the youtube have all been doing so good, a lot of time goes into this and I'm hoping to have more time.
- 4:30Speaker 3: I keep doing it, but, uh, I just wanted to give a shout out to the spirit of french lick for what they they're, that they just released that Psych Gin on the Eclipse and Justin is there now.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Can't wait to go down there and see him as the head distiller.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Hopefully that's what it's going to be.
- 4:53Speaker 3: I think that's what it's going to be.
- 4:55Speaker 3: The Spirit of French Lick has been with us for the beginning and I'm hoping to keep going forward, promoting that fantastic whiskey and bourbon that they make down there, along with their gins and their absinthe and their uh, there's a they make they.
- 5:12Speaker 3: They distill a lot at that distillery.
- 5:14Speaker 3: And then also, um, we gotta mention rosewood bourbon.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Uh, canexian-style bourbon.
- 5:22Speaker 3: It's really kind of a cool thing what Jason Giles is doing there as we go forward.
- 5:30Speaker 3: They are now our sponsor and I will be putting up and doing some voiceovers coming up, but in the meantime we'll mention them and, if you see it, I will quick for everybody.
- 5:44Speaker 3: If you see Rosewood Bourbon on the shelf, I strongly suggest you get it.
- 5:49Speaker 3: The reason why we took Jason and Rosewood on is because what I was able to taste was fantastic and I look forward to their sponsorship.
- 6:01Speaker 3: And then also, we are on all the major podcast formats iHeartRadio, we're on Apple Podcasts and then also Spotify Podcasts.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Whatever you listen to, ask Alexa, ask Siri, you know, to play us, they'll play us.
- 6:15Speaker 3: We're there, check it out.
- 6:17Speaker 3: It's been really kind of interesting lately.
- 6:20Speaker 3: We've been being approached by an awful lot of sponsorship opportunities, and the one that I just took advantage of is the Cigador right here.
- 6:30Speaker 3: It's your personal single cigar humidor.
- 6:34Speaker 3: This works out great.
- 6:36Speaker 3: This worked out great for me for the Eclipse.
- 6:39Speaker 3: It keeps it 70 degrees in there.
- 6:41Speaker 3: It keeps it 70% humidity.
- 6:44Speaker 3: You basically drop a drop of water, hit it to 70.
- 6:49Speaker 3: The top screws off, you drop your cigar in, close it back up and for up to two weeks it's going to keep this.
- 6:57Speaker 3: So if you're going golfing or on a golfing trip and it's TSA approved, so that's really kind of cool.
- 7:05Speaker 3: The Sigador this is something that I've got a hold of and I've already used and enjoyed it, so you can use the SB10 code at Sigadorcom.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Check it out, I can throw up.
- 7:22Speaker 3: I believe I actually have.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Let's see where my I'm looking.
- 7:29Speaker 3: I'm looking real quick, I'm pretty sure.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Is that it?
- 7:33Speaker 3: No, there should be an OHLQ one.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Oh, I don't even know what I'm doing anymore.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Yep, that's it.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Oh, safari, okay here we go that is right there so let's get that up OHLQ and I'm pretty sure it's right.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Nope, that's not it.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Not it there it is.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Look at how awesome that particular that is.
- 8:00Speaker 3: I mean I've got Tactical Series which comes in all different colors, but I've got a tactical series which comes in all different colors, but they've got those wood series.
- 8:07Speaker 3: I mean it is a really kind of cool thing.
- 8:11Speaker 3: So and I am at the sigadorcom, so check them out and, um, used, uh, use the code sb10 to it and you get 10% off.
- 8:26Speaker 3: That's kind of like what I was hoping for.
- 8:31Speaker 3: So, with that said, it's time to get going.
- 8:35Speaker 3: So what should we do?
- 8:37Speaker 3: All right, so one of the topics tonight is OHLQ is having their bottle lottery and once again, there's an aspect of this that I wanted to talk about with everybody, especially if you're on Facebook, if you're from the state of Ohio, you can enter the state of Ohio, for their high-end bottles all have some really cool um, uh, every one is a really like the antique collection for buffalo trice will be in it, and the wellers and the and the barrel proof tailor sometimes, and sometimes, um, all different things are in it.
- 9:16Speaker 3: But this bottle lottery right here that we're dealing with and I'm going to go back to the Sigador one because I know that's where the bottle lottery is and let's pick up the bottle lottery.
- 9:29Speaker 3: I think it was not there, not there, sigador.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Wait, that makes no sense.
- 9:38Speaker 3: I had that up there.
- 9:40Speaker 3: It is OHLQ Bottle Lottery.
- 9:42Speaker 3: So this bottle lottery this time.
- 9:45Speaker 3: That just came out the last drop for fourth.
- 9:50Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, I don't Listen.
- 9:56Speaker 3: There's a lot of cool things that came out on this, okay, and I'm going to go through them and you get to pick and choose what you want.
- 10:02Speaker 3: And, as a bourbon collector, there's a heaven hill heritage collection, second edition, 289.99.
- 10:09Speaker 3: Now see this lottery.
- 10:11Speaker 3: If you win it, you get the right to buy the bottle.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Lots of people in the state of ohio I know people actually nate nate came over with his bottle of the antique collection.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Thomas Handy collection.
- 10:28Speaker 3: And he, no matter what.
- 10:31Speaker 3: My family just doesn't understand.
- 10:32Speaker 3: I consistently, especially my son.
- 10:36Speaker 3: He knows that I go Tuesday at 8.30 and Thursday at at 830, live unless I'm out of town.
- 10:45Speaker 3: And they notoriously just right in the middle of it.
- 10:48Speaker 3: I want to.
- 10:50Speaker 3: It's kind of torture.
- 10:51Speaker 3: I want to talk to my grandson.
- 10:53Speaker 3: He is just nine months old or eight months old and it's sad to me that I can't answer because I'm podcasting, but it's like, don that I can't answer because I'm podcasting, but it's like, don't torture me, my son anyways.
- 11:06Speaker 3: And then there's the king of kentucky 299.99.
- 11:10Speaker 3: That's there.
- 11:11Speaker 3: Uh, mictors, 25 year kentucky straight bourbon 14, basically 1500, 1499.99.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Now, just for the hell of it, 1499.99.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Now, just for the hell of it, $1499.99.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Seriously, $1,500, but that's 25-year Michter's.
- 11:29Speaker 3: I'm going to be in for that bottle.
- 11:30Speaker 3: There also is a Michter's single barrel, a 20-year, for $1,149.99.
- 11:37Speaker 3: So now you're talking about $1,150.
- 11:40Speaker 3: I'm in for that.
- 11:41Speaker 3: Now there's the Mr Sam Tribute Whiskey $2.99.99.
- 11:47Speaker 3: I don't even know what that is.
- 11:50Speaker 3: I'm clicking it, I don't know.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Okay.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Old Fitzgerald, bottled and Bond, 10-year Decanter $1.3998.
- 11:59Speaker 3: That's a 10-year, that's good.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Old Fitzgerald 19-year bottled in bond decanter 239.97.
- 12:06Speaker 3: It's going to be more than that at the distillery.
- 12:08Speaker 3: I'm in for that.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Old Forrester birthday bourbon 179.99.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Signing up for that Parker's Heritage Collection 17th edition, 10-year rye, 184.98.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Of course, who wouldn't do it?
- 12:20Speaker 3: The last drop signature no, van Winkle Family Reserve 13 year rye $170.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Right now comes what Jamie just was talking about.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Old Sam is Sazerac, I think.
- 12:37Speaker 3: Okay, thanks for that, jamie.
- 12:38Speaker 3: The last drop signature blend by drew mayville.
- 12:42Speaker 3: Okay, so jamie has introduced me to drew and I'm talking with drew to go back and forth.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Um, he out.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Greg schneider has mentioned drew.
- 12:52Speaker 3: Um, harlan wheatley is the master distiller at buffalo trace, but Drew Mayville is the master blender and Drew hasn't had much notoriety.
- 13:07Speaker 3: I mean, it's not like it's a common name when you're talking about it.
- 13:13Speaker 3: So the last drop signature blend by Drew Mayville $4,000.
- 13:20Speaker 3: Now, this is a dilemma.
- 13:22Speaker 3: I mean, honestly, it's a dilemma.
- 13:25Speaker 3: $4,000.
- 13:29Speaker 3: I get it, it's great, I would love to have this bottle, but I don't even think I can enter it because spending $4,000, $4,000, half a barrel of bourbon, if you buy a barrel, $4,000.
- 13:47Speaker 3: Now Jamie said it's really good, but $4,000, I don't know if I can actually.
- 13:54Speaker 3: I imagine myself winning that bottle and maybe having the pass on it because one I just don't have $4,000 cash laying around for a single bottle.
- 14:07Speaker 3: I would have to buy that bottle and not buy bourbon for like a year.
- 14:13Speaker 3: I could do it, but at the same time I don't know if I could open it.
- 14:20Speaker 3: I don't know if I could drink it.
- 14:21Speaker 3: I paid $5,000 for my first car.
- 14:26Speaker 3: The whole car was $5,000.
- 14:29Speaker 3: One bottle of bourbon $4,000.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Now, yeah, jamie, yes, but I mean from a standpoint of what people do with these type bottles.
- 14:43Speaker 3: I'm sure if you got this and won this, there would be somebody out there that would want to take it off your hands and that's the reason why some people do this.
- 14:54Speaker 3: So it's.
- 14:55Speaker 3: I understand this is to.
- 14:57Speaker 3: It undermines the secondary market by making it already a secondary price.
- 15:03Speaker 3: But I disagree with that thought process.
- 15:08Speaker 3: I guarantee you it's not undermining the secondary market.
- 15:12Speaker 3: They're trying I mean, it's something you know that they put out and they whatever.
- 15:17Speaker 3: And then people are buying.
- 15:18Speaker 3: You know, pappy van winkles for 2 500 or 3 000 or 4 000.
- 15:23Speaker 3: I've seen a 23 for 8 98 999 dollars in florida, so where they can do that at a liquor store, so, but this bottle here is really really a dilemma for me because it's Drew Mayville.
- 15:42Speaker 3: I mean, he is responsible for a lot of what Buffalo Trace puts out, and the taste and picking those barrels and the maturation and all that with a long.
- 15:53Speaker 3: You know it's bizarre.
- 15:55Speaker 3: They just released Harlan Wheatley's first bottle on the Traveler with Chris Stapleton and Harlan got a $40 bottle and now they're releasing the last drop signature blend by Drew Mayville and he gets a $4,000 bottle.
- 16:10Speaker 3: It's very confusing to me.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Now OHLQ has all these out and I understand it's not their fault that Buffalo Trace is putting it there and they're doing such a good job.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Buffalo Trace is feeding this up to us.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like I would love to try it with Drew and if we get on, you're coming with me, jamie, because I've been talking to him, tried to see him this weekend and that wasn't going to happen.
- 16:39Speaker 3: So anyways, so there you go.
- 16:42Speaker 3: That's our bottle lottery.
- 16:44Speaker 3: I signed up for everything except the $4,000 one.
- 16:47Speaker 3: If you're listening to this or you see this later, let me know.
- 16:51Speaker 3: Make a comment, tell me whether you're going to do the $4,000 one.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Would you do the $4,000 one.
- 16:57Speaker 3: Are you doing the $4,000 one?
- 16:58Speaker 3: Are you in it for fourth, can you?
- 17:01Speaker 3: I mean, what kind of a person can afford $4,000 on one bottle of bourbon?
- 17:06Speaker 3: It's a certain type of person.
- 17:08Speaker 3: I don't know if I'm that person, but I know when I signed up I skipped that one.
- 17:12Speaker 3: I think $1,500 for that Michter's 25-year was kind of my cutoff and it's still.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Jamie was talking about his wife.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Lacey would kill him.
- 17:24Speaker 3: Well, my wife would kill me.
- 17:25Speaker 3: On the $1,500 bottle one, we would have to have a discussion.
- 17:29Speaker 3: That hurts, but not as much as a $4,000 bottle, and she'd be like she knows me, I just put it someplace and it would be here.
- 17:37Speaker 3: It'd be part of the collection.
- 17:39Speaker 3: And, yeah, it's a great investment.
- 17:41Speaker 3: But it's also an investment, you know, you can invest in a diamond or something like that, or a swimming pool, I don't know.
- 17:50Speaker 3: So that I was very curious about this.
- 17:53Speaker 3: This.
- 17:53Speaker 3: That is a very curious bottle lottery.
- 17:55Speaker 3: I'm excited about it.
- 17:56Speaker 3: All the ones, uh, the old fitzgerald, uh, you know, 19 year, that's awesome.
- 18:02Speaker 3: And the and the pappy family reserve rye, 13 year, 170, that I think is a still and I would definitely, um, that has the label, the Pappy Van Winkle label that I always, uh, attribute to wanting, so that that would be awesome to be able to get that that bottle too.
- 18:22Speaker 3: All right, so good job, ohlq, I can't wait.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Um, I myself have entered and I'm trying to get other people in my family to enter and we'll see where we go from there.
- 18:33Speaker 3: All right, so that brings us to the next part.
- 18:36Speaker 3: All right, let's take down the OHLQ, put me back on, let's go there we go, I'm back up we're going to be doing the Jefferson's Oceans I'm wearing you all can see I'm wearing a nice Jefferson's Oceans.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Uh, I'm wearing, you all can see, I'm wearing a nice Jefferson's Oceans.
- 18:53Speaker 3: I'm wearing a nice Jefferson's Oceans t-shirt and I've got Voyage 29,.
- 18:58Speaker 3: And I believe the other Voyage I have is I'm sure it's when I got this up.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Let's see aged it.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Let's see that is 29,.
- 19:12Speaker 3: There it is, it is 25.
- 19:16Speaker 3: I got 25 and 29.
- 19:17Speaker 3: Now I don't know if everybody knows about Jefferson's Ocean.
- 19:21Speaker 3: So that's one thing.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Again, on the share screen, I can bring this up real quick.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Let's do it.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Share screen, hit that and I will take us to the ocean.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Sigador, simple as shoe.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Yep, there it is Voyage 29.
- 19:44Speaker 3: So Jefferson Oceans, if you really want the story is and I'll bring it up first, let's go.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Jefferson Oceans, founder Trey Zeller, plus bourbon pursuit, reflect on the past 25.
- 20:02Speaker 3: They do that with that.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Visit us.
- 20:05Speaker 3: The Kentucky.
- 20:06Speaker 3: No, come on About us.
- 20:08Speaker 3: Founded in 1997, jefferson's is the brainchild of Trey Zoller and his father Chet, a famed bourbon historian.
- 20:18Speaker 3: They were continuing a family whiskey tradition that goes back to the Trey's eighth generation grandmother, who was arrested in 1799 for the production and sales of spiritist liquors.
- 20:30Speaker 3: His curious and experimental mindset has allowed him to push the boundaries of bourbon whiskey, upholding tradition yet always discovering new possibilities.
- 20:40Speaker 3: They do this at the Kentucky Artesian Distillery in Kentucky.
- 20:45Speaker 3: We stopped by one of our good friends, ben Eves, works there and we like to do that.
- 20:53Speaker 3: They are constantly making bourbon there, but they're making the Jeffersons, but this particular let's go there, you go, voyage.
- 21:07Speaker 3: So what they did is they took hard to put events like this for people in Ohio yeah, trey and Chet Ocean Killer Whale Tagging Company.
- 21:45Speaker 3: He would go around and he took one of the barrels on one time he asked him to take a barrel with and the results were quite fascinating.
- 21:55Speaker 3: And you know the history of putting bourbon and whiskey on the water is constantly throughout the history.
- 22:03Speaker 3: I mean, the ships would bring rum in barrels and whiskey in barrels in the 16th 1700s and it would definitely give good results.
- 22:15Speaker 3: What happens with that sloshing around, sometimes the seawater hitting that barrel in rough times on the ocean, that makes all the difference in doing something like this.
- 22:30Speaker 3: It changes the flavor plus the sloshing, opposed to sitting in heat.
- 22:36Speaker 3: And when you're out on the ocean, like they are now and right now, they send them out in containers on the vessels and send the vessels around.
- 22:47Speaker 3: So those ocean containers go out for eight, nine months and they bring that container back.
- 22:52Speaker 3: It's got to be shipped to the port from Kentucky Artisan Distillery, then it's got to go on its voyage and then it's got to be shipped back for bottling.
- 23:03Speaker 3: So it's a really, really cool, what would you say thing.
- 23:08Speaker 3: And now this I had voyage 29 up.
- 23:12Speaker 3: I'm going to bring it up right here.
- 23:13Speaker 3: This is what I'm tasting tonight.
- 23:15Speaker 3: It's really kind of cool.
- 23:16Speaker 3: They tell you what it was, where it goes, but you can quick, you know, in this little video part let's scroll up as high as I can so everybody, everybody can see it.
- 23:29Speaker 3: That voyage went um, started, uh, started on the east coast, went down through the panama canal into the pacific, around to hawaii, around australia, then back up onto the eastern coast by japan and then came back around northern I don't, it wasn't as north as Canada, but Tacoma, washington.
- 23:59Speaker 3: So let's see, started out Savannah, georgia, then it was moderate seas, down to Manzanillo, panama, then to to, then they had rough seas, and then Tahiti, then it was nice weather conditions, auckland, new Zealand, sydney, australia, sydney, yep, and then Melbourne.
- 25:16Speaker 3: Then the sea conditions encountered mild sea.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Then they went back up to Fermentile, australia.
- 25:24Speaker 3: Then they came up to come on, why does it keep doing that?
- 25:28Speaker 3: They had rough seas and then they hit Singapore, and then they hit Shanghai, china, mass in South Korea, yokohama, japan.
- 25:42Speaker 3: Then they had experience, smooth sailing to Tacoma, washington, then Long Beach, california, and then that was once they were in Long Beach they finished up voyage, entered the Panama Canal, again moderate seas, and then back to Georgia.
- 26:13Speaker 3: So that's the voyage, and this voyage was pretty calm for this 29.
- 26:21Speaker 3: Now I'm going to take us off here.
- 26:23Speaker 3: Go back.
- 26:24Speaker 3: Yep, there we go.
- 26:24Speaker 3: So this voyage is a weeded voyage and out of all the Jeffersons.
- 26:29Speaker 3: They are very different.
- 26:31Speaker 3: So the first one I'm going to do is taste the 25.
- 26:34Speaker 3: This one, and when I look at this it seems a little bit lighter.
- 26:37Speaker 3: Five, this one, and when I look at this it seems a little bit lighter.
- 26:43Speaker 3: This voyage, um, what I don't?
- 26:44Speaker 3: I don't know much about it, but I picked up this one and this is a very, a straight bourbon whiskey, very small batch.
- 26:50Speaker 3: So I'm gonna have that and this is a rye and I'm gonna have a taste of that, and this has been sitting for a while now.
- 26:58Speaker 3: The one thing I I want to say is some people like to say that this is a gimmick.
- 27:02Speaker 3: That's one thing that they say over and over.
- 27:05Speaker 3: Gimmick, gimmick, gimmick, gimmick that's all I hear is gimmick, gimmick, gimmick.
- 27:09Speaker 3: And the history once again, throughout time it's been on seaword ships because they brought it for the crew.
- 27:20Speaker 3: This isn't now, when you're sending it out in a container on the high seas and it's a shipping container and the barrels are in there.
- 27:29Speaker 3: When it's on the ocean and it's calm, that sun beats down, even in the wintertime and it heats that up in there.
- 27:39Speaker 3: So those barrels get hot and then they get cold and then they hit those northern parts, and so there's a lot of in and out and sloshing around inside that barrel on these trips.
- 27:50Speaker 3: I wouldn't be surprised if, uh, based off of storms and everything that you lose some.
- 27:56Speaker 3: Now one of the Voyages I believe it was 17 or 18, had very rough waters and you could take the salt water that penetrated those barrels.
- 28:06Speaker 3: But this 25, I always look for a little calmer and if there's anything now, see, I like that's a really good one, very nice, very nice.
- 28:24Speaker 3: So the 25 Super, it's been sitting for a little bit.
- 28:31Speaker 3: It's been a while since that's been out.
- 28:33Speaker 3: But that voyage I remember reading about it.
- 28:36Speaker 3: There was a little bit of something.
- 28:38Speaker 3: You know, some storms here, storms there, and they kind of tell you about it and it started out in cold in the winter and then dropped to the south and it was in the Atlantic and then came back after eight months and it's a pretty good batch, I do agree.
- 28:54Speaker 3: Now the state of Ohio did a barrel pick of this and it tasted like French toast.
- 29:03Speaker 3: It was one of my favorite bottles ever.
- 29:05Speaker 3: So they do sell off single barrels and that's what we're going to cover right now.
- 29:11Speaker 3: As far as there is this part of the 29, which my wife loves.
- 29:20Speaker 3: This is the regular batch 29.
- 29:23Speaker 3: This voyage, this is very delicious.
- 29:28Speaker 3: I'm just going to have a little bit.
- 29:31Speaker 3: It's one of her favorites and the actual batch is fantastic.
- 29:38Speaker 3: If anybody you run across it not the barrel pick I'm telling you the batch and this batch, the weeded batch, way more sugar, caramel.
- 29:50Speaker 3: It's got like a maple syrup, like a pancake.
- 29:57Speaker 3: I mean it's like so good.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Now I've opened up.
- 30:04Speaker 3: So, thanks to walker.
- 30:08Speaker 3: Yes, hey, walker, good to see that you're watching.
- 30:12Speaker 3: Uh, the 29, we have a couple barrel picks at the party store and I want to say I also have an OHLQ pick for this, thanks to whiskey.
- 30:29Speaker 3: So I had two of barrel 35.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Barrel 35 was the better of the two barrels in the state.
- 30:37Speaker 3: I was able to get two of them, but let's see what happened now that.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Hey, let's see what happened to this one.
- 30:52Speaker 3: Uh, here we are.
- 30:53Speaker 3: I want to see what that 35 done now that it's been open a little bit.
- 30:57Speaker 3: Sometimes, when you're talking about a barrel pick, I want to say let's see what the proof was.
- 31:07Speaker 3: That didn't help me, it would be nice, but I'll put that out.
- 31:13Speaker 3: Yeah, let's see if putting on the glasses will help me see in the dark.
- 31:15Speaker 3: It does the 90 proof on the glasses will help me see in the dark.
- 31:18Speaker 3: It does the 90 proof on the barrel proof too.
- 31:21Speaker 3: Is it 90 proof on this barrel?
- 31:25Speaker 3: Yep, so if you're going to do a barrel pick of Jefferson's Oceans, it's going to be 90 proof.
- 31:35Speaker 3: So here we go.
- 31:36Speaker 3: The 25 was good, the 29 is great.
- 31:41Speaker 3: I want to see what the barrel pick was.
- 31:43Speaker 3: A little bit more oak, but this is.
- 31:55Speaker 3: This has aged nicely.
- 31:57Speaker 3: Still, that particular barrel is good, but not as good as the original batch.
- 32:06Speaker 3: The original batch has been fantastic.
- 32:09Speaker 3: Now we're going to try the party source batch the party store.
- 32:15Speaker 3: It's been open a while.
- 32:17Speaker 3: I want to see what.
- 32:19Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 32:26Speaker 3: Thank you, we got that going too.
- 32:31Speaker 3: Let's see what happens.
- 32:34Speaker 3: That's a good one.
- 32:43Speaker 3: That's right up there.
- 32:50Speaker 1: That's right up there.
- 32:51Speaker 3: That's right up there.
- 32:51Speaker 3: So what I'm saying is, with each voyage they throw out batches.
- 32:57Speaker 3: Now I found that the weeded batches have been fantastic.
- 33:01Speaker 3: The weeded bourbon batches, I don't know what, but like, once again, is it a gimmick?
- 33:09Speaker 3: I don't know what, but like, once again, is it a gimmick?
- 33:10Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 33:10Speaker 3: I mean, honestly, bourbon was made by putting it in a charred oak barrel and then shipping it down the Mississippi to New Orleans.
- 33:21Speaker 3: And when you think about that, it's like that, sloshing around on the river, aged, that it wasn't being shoved in rickhouses, or if it was in rickhouses, it was sitting there for two, three years maybe and then put on a boat and shipped down, or a barge and shipped down the Mississippi River, and that was not a short ride.
- 33:45Speaker 3: So every day, every night, if there was bad weather, it's not like the barrels came off the barge or the boat or whatever they were shipping it on.
- 33:53Speaker 3: They sat there and sloshed around, picked up the rainwater, picked up the elements, did all that, and then when they got there, people were so excited about it because it tasted so good.
- 34:07Speaker 3: So that char that was in there and everything.
- 34:10Speaker 3: I'm sure you had to filter a little bit more with all the.
- 34:12Speaker 3: It's kind of violent inside the barrel, but it's something how the beginning roots of bourbon happened, so to put it out on the sea, let it slosh around, pick up heat on that open water and then some of the storms and in some cases, pick up other stuff.
- 34:35Speaker 3: So, who knows?
- 34:37Speaker 3: I don't think it's a gimmick, I actually like it.
- 34:40Speaker 3: I have some of the Jefferson stuff that doesn't go out there and one of the things that let me just quick grab the one bottle I have.
- 34:58Speaker 3: It's the Pritchard's.
- 34:59Speaker 3: I actually love this brand's packaging.
- 35:03Speaker 3: I do this was the twin oak, the Jefferson's Reserve Twin Oak single barrel, and it was an OHLQ exclusive from 2022.
- 35:17Speaker 3: Now I'm going to put this in there.
- 35:25Speaker 3: Flavor you actually in a rickhouse?
- 35:28Speaker 3: You're going to need to do more aging at those rickhouse.
- 35:35Speaker 3: Yeah, hey, matt, good that you're watching.
- 35:39Speaker 3: Nice, thanks for watching.
- 35:40Speaker 3: So I'm picking up just a little bit more oak.
- 35:50Speaker 3: That's it.
- 35:51Speaker 2: It's pretty similar, that's nice, it's a nice pour.
- 35:56Speaker 2: So what?
- 35:56Speaker 3: they're doing at the kentucky artesian distillery with the jeffersons and the jefferson oceans, and what, uh, they're doing is fantastic.
- 36:04Speaker 3: I'm not going to say that it's not so that's pretty a pretty cool thing that they're doing.
- 36:11Speaker 3: So I think we covered it pretty well.
- 36:14Speaker 3: I hope so.
- 36:15Speaker 3: Uh, if anybody has any questions, ask away.
- 36:18Speaker 3: Um, but I do have one more thing to cover, because we got a little bit of time here.
- 36:24Speaker 3: That's not always the case.
- 36:26Speaker 3: Bourbon Plus is out.
- 36:30Speaker 3: That's really kind of cool.
- 36:32Speaker 3: I thought that was a cool thing and one of the things that was in here and I'm pretty sure is oh, let's see, I'm going to find it.
- 36:46Speaker 3: I didn't mark it off, I just saw it today.
- 36:48Speaker 3: I love this magazine because it's everything whiskey and bourbon that I want and there's.
- 36:59Speaker 3: You know, the articles are so interesting and you know science of proofing whiskey.
- 37:07Speaker 3: I mean that in itself there's so much that you can do to proof the whiskey.
- 37:11Speaker 3: And then the Bourbon Trail and Bourbon Tourism.
- 37:16Speaker 3: They've got the mint julep experiences and you know there's lots of different things we do the Kentucky Bourbon Boys.
- 37:25Speaker 3: All right, let's see if I can find what I want.
- 37:29Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure it was in here.
- 37:34Speaker 3: Oh, I saw it today.
- 37:35Speaker 3: Oh, it's risky.
- 37:38Speaker 3: Lessons learned in the bourbon business Make a beeline to the beeline.
- 37:43Speaker 1: That's what it was.
- 37:45Speaker 3: So.
- 37:45Speaker 3: The beeline is the Northern Kentucky curated collection of 25 bourbon experiences and one of the cool bourbon experiences on the beeline that kicks it off.
- 37:59Speaker 3: 100% is where is it it should be?
- 38:05Speaker 3: Oh, come on.
- 38:06Speaker 3: I saw the picture of it.
- 38:08Speaker 3: All right, come on.
- 38:10Speaker 3: Did mine not cover it?
- 38:14Speaker 3: Why is that not in there?
- 38:22Speaker 3: All right, the beeline.
- 38:23Speaker 3: Did I miss it?
- 38:24Speaker 3: I must must, oh, come on.
- 38:28Speaker 3: But Revival Spirits is part of the Beeline and it's really kind of cool.
- 38:38Speaker 3: That's one of my favorite places.
- 38:40Speaker 3: We've had Brad Bonds on twice because we've gone down there and podcasted from down there.
- 38:47Speaker 3: But do I really have to look harder in the magazine?
- 38:54Speaker 3: Uh, you know?

- 43:14Speaker 3: Oh man, I really wanted to go there but we had the day off.

- 44:40Speaker 3: So that has been something that I'm pushing.
- 44:44Speaker 3: I've been pushing the YouTube and the Facebook and it's been working, but now I've got to go back to pushing the youtube and the facebook, and it's been working, but now I gotta go back to pushing the audio.
