- 0:00Speaker 1: Wow. Happy birthday, Carla. Have a great rest of your day.
- 0:05Speaker 1: And thank you to our listeners.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:07Speaker 1: For always, always listening to us. Steve Harvey Nation. We
- 0:10Speaker 1: appreciate you, Steve.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Hey, my closing remarks today is because Shirley told me
- 0:16Speaker 2: earlier in the show that I had gone viral and
- 0:20Speaker 2: I went for what? And she said your stance on
- 0:24Speaker 2: talking to young men about.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Women shouldn't bring something to them. What are women bringing
- 0:30Speaker 1: to the table?
- 0:31Speaker 2: Because, you know, I see that online a lot. You know,
- 0:34Speaker 2: what does a woman bring to the table? That's a
- 0:36Speaker 2: fair question to ask. What does a woman bring to
- 0:40Speaker 2: the table? That's a very, very fair question to ask
- 0:43Speaker 2: young men. But I want you to hear where I'm
- 0:46Speaker 2: coming from. So for all of you that say Steve
- 0:49Speaker 2: coming with that old fashioned line of thinking and all
- 0:52Speaker 2: like that. Yes, it's old fashioned. It's the way manhood
- 0:56Speaker 2: was defined and shaped. It will always be the same way. Look, man,
- 1:01Speaker 2: I'm sorry that nobody didn't tell it to you, but
- 1:05Speaker 2: that don't change the truth. My father always told me,
- 1:08Speaker 2: he says, son, if you tell somebody the truth and
- 1:11Speaker 2: they don't believe you, that ain't your fault. See, and
- 1:16Speaker 2: it's just brothers. I'm not coming at you with no disrespect.
- 1:20Speaker 2: But I'm coming at you with what the requirements of
- 1:24Speaker 2: manhood are. This is not Steve Harvey making them up.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I didn't make this up, man. And I'm not saying
- 1:33Speaker 2: if you don't do this, you ain't. I'm just telling
- 1:35Speaker 2: you what the rules of manhood are. We have two
- 1:39Speaker 2: major components. That is the responsibility of a man. To
- 1:44Speaker 2: protect and to provide. Those two things are non-negotiables. You
- 1:51Speaker 2: don't get to debate that, man. It's just not, brothers.
- 1:55Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Your job is to protect and provide. Those
- 2:00Speaker 2: two things must happen. Now, if you're a great communicator,
- 2:03Speaker 2: that's a bonus. You know, if you're extra loving and
- 2:07Speaker 2: extra kind, that's a bonus. Now, of course, you know,
- 2:11Speaker 2: we want to be polite. We want to be courteous.
- 2:13Speaker 2: We want to be kind to our people, our family,
- 2:16Speaker 2: our children, our girls, our wives.
- 2:18Speaker 1: I got all that.
- 2:20Speaker 2: But your two obligations you have to do is protect
- 2:23Speaker 2: and provide. Now, the fact that you haven't heard that,
- 2:26Speaker 2: that don't make it not so. And brothers, you you
- 2:31Speaker 2: cannot move the goalposts just because it's something you've decided
- 2:36Speaker 2: in 2026 moving into 2027 that you don't want to do.
- 2:41Speaker 2: It will never be OK for a man not to
- 2:45Speaker 2: protect and provide.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I'm sorry. That ain't Steve. I'm just telling you, man.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Unc, you old.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Yeah, man.
- 2:53Speaker 2: And hopefully one day you'll get old too. Old is
- 2:56Speaker 2: the goal. Stop criticizing people for being old. The whole
- 3:01Speaker 2: goal is to get old. See, man, y'all be saying
- 3:05Speaker 2: some real shallow sugar honey iced tea without no thought
- 3:09Speaker 2: behind it. And then you get mad at us, man,
- 3:12Speaker 2: because we live a certain way or we have a
- 3:14Speaker 2: certain belief. Because the goalpost was not allowed to be
- 3:18Speaker 2: moved when I kicked. When I stepped up to the
- 3:22Speaker 2: plate to have a family, when I stepped up to
- 3:24Speaker 2: the plate to have children, when I stepped up to
- 3:27Speaker 2: the wedding vows, all that, they didn't move the goalpost.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Now, I didn't do it right, but they didn't move
- 3:34Speaker 1: the goalpost.
- 3:36Speaker 2: So when I say you keep asking all these women
- 3:39Speaker 2: what they bring to.
- 3:39Speaker 1: The table, You got to have a table.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Dog, women are looking for men who make them feel safe.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Women want a man to make them feel protected. Women
- 3:57Speaker 2: would love to have a man that would make.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Them feel honored, loved, cherished. Women want that. What's wrong
- 4:06Speaker 1: with that? Why wouldn't that get to be old fashioned?
- 4:10Speaker 2: Come on, young homies. Quit moving the goalposts, man. So
- 4:15Speaker 2: it can be easy for you. This sugar honey iced
- 4:19Speaker 2: tea ain't easy.
- 4:22Speaker 1: It's not.
- 4:23Speaker 2: It's called manhood. That's what it is, man. It don't
- 4:28Speaker 2: come with a whole lot of thank yous. Father's Day
- 4:32Speaker 2: ain't the same as Mother's Day. There's a reason for that.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Get over it. Quit tripping. So now you want to
- 4:40Speaker 1: go 50-50 and everything. Okay, cool, go ahead.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Okay, that's the way a woman, I make $ 100, 000, a
- 4:46Speaker 2: woman need to make $ 100, 000. That's foolishness, but okay. That's
- 4:50Speaker 2: what you want to live by.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Go ahead. You make $ 100, 000, she make $ 100, 000. Okay, cool.
- 4:55Speaker 1: You pay half the bills, she pay half the bills. Okay, cool.
- 4:59Speaker 1: This is your money when you get paid, that's her
- 5:01Speaker 1: money when she get paid. Okay, cool.
- 5:03Speaker 2: That way y'all want to try to live, go ahead.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Let me know how that works out for you. And
- 5:09Speaker 2: y'all have joined a union to be as one. Y'all
- 5:12Speaker 2: trying to have a family. Y'all trying to go somewhere.
- 5:15Speaker 2: I want to see how y'all go in the same
- 5:17Speaker 2: direction with all them separate ways. I want to see
- 5:20Speaker 2: how that works. Just show me how that work, man.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Because I ain't seen it work yet. Now, you decide, hey,
- 5:27Speaker 2: let's raise a family. I want a little boy look
- 5:31Speaker 2: just like me. I'm going to name him after me.
- 5:33Speaker 2: And I want you to take my name.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Well, guess what?
- 5:36Speaker 2: When she get pregnant, I don't know if you've been
- 5:39Speaker 2: paying attention, man, but it gets real big for her.
- 5:42Speaker 2: It's a daunting accomplishment, man, to go out and have
- 5:46Speaker 2: a child. Where the 50-50 at on that? When it's
- 5:52Speaker 2: time to bring this child into the world, where is the.
- 5:54Speaker 1: 50-50 at then? Because it looked like 90-10 to me.
- 5:59Speaker 2: So I'm sorry, man. It ain't 50-50. You got to
- 6:03Speaker 2: have a table. And your obligation is to protect and provide.
- 6:07Speaker 2: That will never change, man. And I'm sorry Uncle Steve
- 6:09Speaker 2: had to tell it to you. That's just the way
- 6:12Speaker 2: it is, brothers.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Period.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Stand up because it ain't finna change. Those are my
- 6:17Speaker 2: closing remarks. Y'all have a great day.
