- 0:02Speaker 1: Coming to you from fabulous Las Vegas. The right side
- 0:07Speaker 1: is the winning side. The late move is the correct move.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Sports betting capital of the world. We all know when
- 0:14Speaker 1: a sharp like me weighs in the lines move, it's
- 0:17Speaker 1: a party for your ears. This is the Buffet with
- 0:26Speaker 1: Chad and Scooch. I want to buy that guy at buffet.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Buffet with Chad and Scooch. I
- 0:34Speaker 1: am Chad Millman's of the Action Network. Scooch is, as
- 0:39Speaker 1: you all know, elusive and a man who operates of
- 0:46Speaker 1: his own volition, time and rules, and he's just not available.
- 0:51Speaker 1: You know, he's probably summering it is Italian Villa, but
- 0:54Speaker 1: he's not gonna be in the podcast today. It doesn't
- 0:57Speaker 1: matter because today's episode is so chock full of epic nous.
- 1:04Speaker 1: It honestly captures everything that we are trying to do
- 1:08Speaker 1: at the Action Network, which is our nascent company focused
- 1:13Speaker 1: on sports betting, and all of the attendant joys that
- 1:18Speaker 1: come with it. The conversation, the risk taking nature of
- 1:23Speaker 1: betting itself, the community that has evolved over the years
- 1:27Speaker 1: um of people who have longed for places to talk
- 1:31Speaker 1: about this kind of stuff and connect with other people
- 1:33Speaker 1: who talk about this kind of stuff. Uh. And there
- 1:37Speaker 1: is an event going on that was created by three
- 1:41Speaker 1: guys in our universe um Adam Levitan, Peter Jennings Jonathan Bales,
- 1:49Speaker 1: the latter two founders of Fantasy Labs, which is part
- 1:52Speaker 1: of the Action Network. Uh. They created an event called
- 1:55Speaker 1: the Gambling Olympics, which, for anybody who likes to at
- 2:00Speaker 1: on anything, is kind of like, um, it is like
- 2:06Speaker 1: Nirvana because they are doing all the things that everybody
- 2:09Speaker 1: wishes they could do, and they're doing it over three
- 2:11Speaker 1: days in Las Vegas, sponsored by the Action Network. Bowloads
- 2:16Speaker 1: of content you can find at Action network dot com
- 2:20Speaker 1: slash Gambling hyphen Olympics. Uh. Fellas, I have all three
- 2:26Speaker 1: of them on the call today. Levitan, I'm gonna start
- 2:30Speaker 1: with you break down for me how the Gambling Olympics
- 2:35Speaker 1: came to be. It's so funny. You know, I told
- 2:40Speaker 1: my family I have to go to Vegas for work,
- 2:42Speaker 1: and they're like, they understand. You know, It's like, oh,
- 2:44Speaker 1: Adams going to Vegas for work. That's fine. And then
- 2:46Speaker 1: slowly it's come out what I'm actually doing out there,
- 2:50Speaker 1: and um, it's a little bit off the rails. But
- 2:52Speaker 1: but here's here's what we're doing. Basically, just had the
- 2:54Speaker 1: idea to get a bunch of guys who loved to gamble,
- 2:57Speaker 1: who loved it bet on stuff, get them all in
- 2:59Speaker 1: a house um and kind of see what happens and
- 3:02Speaker 1: see what happens around this twelve event Gambling Olympics. Twelve
- 3:05Speaker 1: events that we came up with that we think are
- 3:09Speaker 1: um skill based in at least some sense. So games
- 3:12Speaker 1: like yacht sie and Connect four and DFS and poker
- 3:17Speaker 1: are for examples of four of the events. You'll get
- 3:20Speaker 1: points for each event that you win, place, show, et cetera.
- 3:23Speaker 1: And then we'll crown a gold medal winner at the
- 3:26Speaker 1: end of the Gambling Olympics. So it's pretty similar and
- 3:29Speaker 1: we're pretty confident that one day it will be bigger
- 3:30Speaker 1: than the real Olympics. I have no doubt. Like this
- 3:33Speaker 1: is all generational, right, you know, if you look back,
- 3:36Speaker 1: like you know, it took the NFL fifty years from
- 3:39Speaker 1: the time that was founded until like it really became
- 3:42Speaker 1: America's most popular sport e sports like started really in
- 3:46Speaker 1: the nineteen seventies and evolved into something today that is
- 3:50Speaker 1: a massive industry. The Gambling Olympics you know, by the
- 3:54Speaker 1: time we reach uh, what is this year, By the
- 3:59Speaker 1: time we my prediction, I'd like to hear Levitan, Jonathan Bales,
- 4:06Speaker 1: and Peter Jennings uh weigh in on this. My prediction
- 4:10Speaker 1: gambling Olympics is a serious thing that has national television coverage.
- 4:18Speaker 1: I'll take the under on in terms of when this
- 4:22Speaker 1: becomes a nationally televised massive event. I think the way
- 4:27Speaker 1: the future is gonna look as events like this are
- 4:30Speaker 1: gonna be very prominent. And let's face it, this is
- 4:33Speaker 1: something that literally anyone can compete in, and I think
- 4:36Speaker 1: everyone would want to be involved in something like this.
- 4:38Speaker 1: So I agree with you. It's gonna take some time, certainly,
- 4:42Speaker 1: you know, I think we have a good start here,
- 4:44Speaker 1: but long term, I could see athletes, I could see celebrities,
- 4:48Speaker 1: I could see a variety of characters competing in something
- 4:52Speaker 1: like this. So I'll take the under. But I'm glad
- 4:55Speaker 1: you have confidence, Chad, A lot of confidence, my friend. Uh, Levitan,
- 4:59Speaker 1: where are you thing? I actually think that this is
- 5:02Speaker 1: going to be really huge and because of just what
- 5:04Speaker 1: I've seen from the reaction from our audience in the past, right,
- 5:08Speaker 1: like we have done all kinds of things with football
- 5:10Speaker 1: and with dfs. You know, Peter has been on Sports
- 5:13Speaker 1: Center and we have these podcasts and everything, and they're
- 5:15Speaker 1: popular for sure. I don't get any type of reaction
- 5:19Speaker 1: like I get when I play a guy with a
- 5:21Speaker 1: frying pan and people watch. Um, I don't get the
- 5:24Speaker 1: same reaction. Me and Bales run a one mile race
- 5:26Speaker 1: against each other in Florida. That's what really got people talking.
- 5:30Speaker 1: That got everybody excited. Everywhere I go, people are asking
- 5:33Speaker 1: me about these props and my strategy and all that.
- 5:36Speaker 1: So yeah, while everybody is doing you know, football content
- 5:39Speaker 1: and stuff like that, Um, this is I think unique
- 5:41Speaker 1: and and I think you're right. It speaks to people
- 5:44Speaker 1: from a generational basis where this is what people are
- 5:46Speaker 1: gonna be interested in the future. So so yeah, you know,
- 5:49Speaker 1: I think is reasonable. And maybe the under is a
- 5:53Speaker 1: is a good bet as well. Yeah, I think, uh
- 5:56Speaker 1: that's uh so. So I think we're all gonna be
- 6:00Speaker 1: dead by then. I don't think we'll will see it happen.
- 6:03Speaker 1: But I think the general trend of like, um, people
- 6:08Speaker 1: sort of having like downside on their beliefs or actions
- 6:12Speaker 1: or things that they want to do is is uh
- 6:15Speaker 1: is something that's happening. That's why we do a lot
- 6:17Speaker 1: of these bets. We do a lot of ridiculous bets,
- 6:20Speaker 1: but we also do UM bets that are good for us.
- 6:23Speaker 1: We have like a no car bet right now, we
- 6:25Speaker 1: have a beer bet. We do a lot of fitness props.
- 6:30Speaker 1: And the reason is because we have downside and we
- 6:32Speaker 1: want to improve our lives. And I think that that
- 6:34Speaker 1: trend of UM implementing downside uh to whatever it is
- 6:41Speaker 1: you are accomplishing your life is something that will happen
- 6:43Speaker 1: more and more, um, you know, over over the next
- 6:47Speaker 1: couple of decades. So UM, that's a very earnest answer
- 6:52Speaker 1: about how you guys approach all of these all of
- 6:56Speaker 1: these bets in take me through through each of the
- 7:02Speaker 1: events you talked about. For the events that I just
- 7:04Speaker 1: want to frame this for people, like gambling, Olympics, twelve participants,
- 7:10Speaker 1: each person is paying, is buying in at Bucks. There's
- 7:15Speaker 1: gonna be twelve of you living in a house for
- 7:18Speaker 1: three days. You're gonna compete in twelve different events. Levitan,
- 7:22Speaker 1: like you said points for win place or show. Give
- 7:25Speaker 1: me the twelve events that you're competing and you've named
- 7:28Speaker 1: for them. Give me the rest of them really bails
- 7:31Speaker 1: is the one. He's the one who did them all
- 7:32Speaker 1: to make sure that he is the big favorite and
- 7:34Speaker 1: all of them. So all right, here we have we
- 7:36Speaker 1: have w NBA buddy. All right, Yes I named the four.
- 7:42Speaker 1: They name four that I named where Sports where, DFS,
- 7:45Speaker 1: Poker Connect four and yachtsie all I think pretty skill based.
- 7:48Speaker 1: We're also gonna do a crypto portfolio. Everybody's gonna buy
- 7:51Speaker 1: one cryptocurrency. Whose ever goes up the most over twenty
- 7:55Speaker 1: four hour period will win. We will also do sports betting,
- 7:58Speaker 1: which I think is extremely skill based, as we've shown
- 8:01Speaker 1: on the Action Network. Um. We are also going to
- 8:04Speaker 1: do a black jack term in which I actually think
- 8:06Speaker 1: if everybody going to play, the optimal blackjack strategy probably
- 8:09Speaker 1: has the least amount, but there will be strategy, and um,
- 8:12Speaker 1: how much you've been on a hand and kind of
- 8:14Speaker 1: overarching strategy. I think pretty much everybody going though, is
- 8:17Speaker 1: well aware of optimal uh blackjack strategy. The one that
- 8:20Speaker 1: I'm the biggest underdog in for sure is beer pong.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I don't know how these meat heads wrote me into
- 8:26Speaker 1: doing beer pong, but that that is an event. A
- 8:28Speaker 1: C d C is one of my favorite games. If
- 8:30Speaker 1: you guys like to gamble, a c doc with your
- 8:32Speaker 1: friends is one of the most fun games you can play.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Also called posts or between the sheets rock paper scissors.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Bails put that in because he considers himself a world
- 8:41Speaker 1: class rock paper scissors player. I've been battling Bails a
- 8:45Speaker 1: lot and that recently and have been getting some wins.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I'm coming in with confidence there. Uh, the second to
- 8:50Speaker 1: last event will be a lot and thinks if you
- 8:52Speaker 1: listen to the Three Donkeys podcast, you know what A
- 8:53Speaker 1: lot of things has started in live poker, basically just
- 8:56Speaker 1: about thinking about how our opponents think instead of like
- 8:59Speaker 1: the what the right answer is to a question? And
- 9:02Speaker 1: then one that came up with that I think it's
- 9:04Speaker 1: interesting is standings predictions. So at the beginning we will
- 9:08Speaker 1: everyone will project what they think the final standings will
- 9:11Speaker 1: be of the gambling Olympics. So there's certainly some DFS
- 9:15Speaker 1: strategy there in terms of be contrarian, whether you want
- 9:17Speaker 1: to bet on yourself, which I would assume you want
- 9:20Speaker 1: to try to get double points. But but yeah, there's
- 9:22Speaker 1: a lot of strategy that goes into that as well.
- 9:24Speaker 1: And so Jennings, uh give us a rundown of the
- 9:28Speaker 1: participants and who they are and sort of how this
- 9:31Speaker 1: community comes together and how it speaks to the pool
- 9:37Speaker 1: of betters that exists that have been yearning for something
- 9:40Speaker 1: like this. Absolutely, I think we have a great cast
- 9:44Speaker 1: and certainly the right types of degenerates and skillful gamblers
- 9:49Speaker 1: involved in the Gambling Olympics. I'll start with my team.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Brandon Adams was one of my first picks, or my
- 9:55Speaker 1: first pick, and Brandon is ex Harvard professor, professional poker player,
- 10:01Speaker 1: professional DFS player, just a brilliant gambler and I think
- 10:05Speaker 1: is one of the favorites in the Gambling Olympics. Also,
- 10:08Speaker 1: Paula Duke of the Action Network might also remember him
- 10:11Speaker 1: from playing Major League Baseball. Got the best athlete in
- 10:14Speaker 1: the field by far on my team. And then black
- 10:17Speaker 1: Track Fletcher, also of the Action Network, who I think
- 10:20Speaker 1: just is totally the exact kind of person that you
- 10:24Speaker 1: think of when you think of the Gambling Olympics. On
- 10:27Speaker 1: Baal's team, Bales has, uh, did you do with Joey Bills? No,
- 10:33Speaker 1: Joey's on my team, He's on your team. Well, Bales
- 10:36Speaker 1: has the oddsmaker filling in. He also has UM tell
- 10:42Speaker 1: people who the oddsmaker is, Shawn Corner. He's the official
- 10:45Speaker 1: oddsmaker for the Action Network number one. But his sort
- 10:49Speaker 1: of what is it like? His predictive lineups the last
- 10:52Speaker 1: three years and the best in fantasy sports? Is that
- 10:54Speaker 1: what it is? Yeah? So Sean originally was a linesmaker
- 10:58Speaker 1: and then transition to working at Stats Inc. And is
- 11:01Speaker 1: really focused on projecting players and fantasy sports, in particular football.
- 11:06Speaker 1: And he's been the most accurate predictor of fantasy football
- 11:09Speaker 1: and Fantasy pros the last three years and I believe
- 11:12Speaker 1: four out of the last five. So he is incredible
- 11:14Speaker 1: at setting odds. He's done things like set odds on
- 11:17Speaker 1: DFS Live Finals. Uh. He is a late addition and
- 11:21Speaker 1: I think he is right there as the favorite. I
- 11:24Speaker 1: also saw on the Twitter machine that he and his
- 11:27Speaker 1: wife are playing YACHTSI so he is training. He is
- 11:31Speaker 1: certainly working hard UM and I think that that was
- 11:35Speaker 1: a great addition for Bales team UM. In addition to
- 11:39Speaker 1: that for the Action Networks since he is an officially
- 11:41Speaker 1: employee now the best addition to the Action Network. I
- 11:45Speaker 1: don't love that he is. He is incredible. I should
- 11:48Speaker 1: pull this up to some I have your team left
- 11:50Speaker 1: and you have Mooney, you have Joey, and you have
- 11:53Speaker 1: Man's Right. Yeah, you didn't mention Matt Brown and Scott Blumstein.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Bales also has Scott Blumstein, who won the World Series
- 12:00Speaker 1: of Poker last year. Pretty nice hit. He's also an
- 12:03Speaker 1: avid DFS player, and a very good DFS player at that.
- 12:06Speaker 1: I think he's really really smart and certainly one of
- 12:09Speaker 1: the favorites in the Gambling Olympic as well. And then
- 12:11Speaker 1: Matt Brown, who has lived in Vegas and done a
- 12:14Speaker 1: lot of content around gambling, has experienced in all of
- 12:17Speaker 1: these events. Is it really strong contestant as well? On
- 12:21Speaker 1: Adam Levittan's team is Michael Mooney, who is doing a
- 12:24Speaker 1: story on this. I think Michael is going to be
- 12:27Speaker 1: a really really good contestant. He's played poker professionally in
- 12:31Speaker 1: the past. Uh. He's a great guy and I think
- 12:34Speaker 1: he'll do extremely well. He has Pete Mansonelli, a k
- 12:37Speaker 1: the man's who's training probably harder than anyone. He is
- 12:41Speaker 1: the inventor of a physical cryptocurrency. He is a runner
- 12:45Speaker 1: up finisher in the first ever bro Athalon, and I
- 12:48Speaker 1: think he might be the biggest grinder in the field
- 12:51Speaker 1: and finally has Joey Ingram, famous podcaster and poker player
- 12:56Speaker 1: who is no stranger to prop bets and certainly should
- 12:59Speaker 1: be a really fun gay uh in, a really fun
- 13:01Speaker 1: contestant in this event. Alright, So, UM, I have so
- 13:07Speaker 1: many questions from this. Let's go back to bails for
- 13:10Speaker 1: a second, because you said something that was really interesting
- 13:14Speaker 1: me and like, to me, this thing could all could
- 13:16Speaker 1: all be folly right, Like you can make this whole
- 13:18Speaker 1: thing funny, and I'm sure we will. We're gonna have
- 13:20Speaker 1: Matthew Freedman from the Action Network who's on site, like
- 13:24Speaker 1: doing a live blog. You guys are all gonna be
- 13:26Speaker 1: tweeting NonStop, not just you guys, but like everybody there
- 13:30Speaker 1: is gonna be tweeting NonStop and sort of sharing the
- 13:32Speaker 1: highlights of it. But he said something really interesting like
- 13:37Speaker 1: betting up, like having downside in these things. And you
- 13:41Speaker 1: guys do a podcast called Three Donkeys, and um, you
- 13:45Speaker 1: guys have really in depth conversations about the psychology and
- 13:52Speaker 1: management of risk in betting. So why do you think
- 13:56Speaker 1: that is becoming bails more and more popular for people
- 14:00Speaker 1: to talk about and want to invest in personally? Um? Yeah,
- 14:07Speaker 1: I think it's uh be something more popular because it's
- 14:10Speaker 1: the greatest possible motivator for you to do things that
- 14:15Speaker 1: you want in your life. I've seen a lot of uh,
- 14:18Speaker 1: like weight loss sites pop up that sort of like
- 14:22Speaker 1: pit you against someone else and you need to track
- 14:24Speaker 1: your weight and you can bet actual money on it. Um.
- 14:28Speaker 1: And I think I saw a study where if you
- 14:31Speaker 1: post something online, like on social media about something you're
- 14:34Speaker 1: going to do, you're like almost infinitely more likely to
- 14:38Speaker 1: do that thing, um, whether it's lose weight or eat
- 14:41Speaker 1: better or whatever it is. Um. And so I think
- 14:44Speaker 1: that uh, in general, people are becoming more aware of
- 14:49Speaker 1: uh yeah, just general psychology around what motivates them and
- 14:54Speaker 1: uh and trying to sort of leverage that to make
- 14:58Speaker 1: their lives better. And what do you expect to happen
- 15:03Speaker 1: when you get out there? Like if you're predicting right now, Levitan,
- 15:08Speaker 1: who is going to be Like, who's going to be
- 15:13Speaker 1: the one who's doing so much worse than you could
- 15:15Speaker 1: have possibly imagined? Uh? You know, one of the things
- 15:19Speaker 1: I thought about when I was making my team was
- 15:21Speaker 1: guys who are gonna take it super serious? Right? So
- 15:23Speaker 1: I could see some guys going out there. Maybe I
- 15:25Speaker 1: shouldn't name names, but they're gonna be drinking, they're gonna
- 15:27Speaker 1: be partying there in Vegas. We have this ridiculous house.
- 15:30Speaker 1: I wanted all heart on my team, right, so, uh,
- 15:34Speaker 1: to that end, I think that the man's is gonna
- 15:36Speaker 1: be all hard. I think Joe Ingraham has a very
- 15:39Speaker 1: good record in prop betting, he's all hard. And then
- 15:41Speaker 1: Michael Mooney, who wrote the American Sniper book, and then
- 15:44Speaker 1: it's following it up by writing about this, which you
- 15:47Speaker 1: know is obviously questionable. But that said, I think he's
- 15:50Speaker 1: gonna be all hard too. So I like that a
- 15:52Speaker 1: lot from my team. I didn't want anybody who's gonna
- 15:55Speaker 1: be you know, drunk and partying. We're in it to
- 15:57Speaker 1: win it, baby, So so yeah, there's a decent amount
- 15:59Speaker 1: of money in the line, and uh, I think that's
- 16:01Speaker 1: gonna be a deciding factors motivation. What what is the
- 16:06Speaker 1: total amount that's going to be in the pool a man?
- 16:10Speaker 1: So thirty K total prize pool and how is the
- 16:13Speaker 1: price pool broken up for the individual? It is ten k,
- 16:17Speaker 1: the first six k, a second, four K to third,
- 16:20Speaker 1: and then the winning team will get tank to be
- 16:22Speaker 1: divided amongst themselves. That's why you have the team. That's
- 16:26Speaker 1: what I was gonna ask, Like, what's the purpose of
- 16:28Speaker 1: having the teams? Yeah, I think having a team component,
- 16:32Speaker 1: just like you would in the real Olympics. You know, Yeah,
- 16:34Speaker 1: the Olympians compete for the United States on the stage
- 16:37Speaker 1: for themselves, but also they're competing for their country, and
- 16:40Speaker 1: in this case, their country is Team Levitan, Team bails In,
- 16:43Speaker 1: Team Team Gettings, And it's a lot of pride. There's
- 16:46Speaker 1: pride on the line here. Yeah, I mean a lot
- 16:49Speaker 1: of these guys in it are super rich, right, you
- 16:52Speaker 1: know hashtag how rich that that's not a lot, But
- 16:54Speaker 1: I think pride is going to motivate certain guys to
- 16:57Speaker 1: to bigger degrees than others. Though, for sure Jennings, who
- 17:01Speaker 1: is the richest person competing in the gambling Olympics. Wow,
- 17:05Speaker 1: that's a really tough question, um right, my deests. Actually,
- 17:11Speaker 1: it's it's a hard thing. I think the person who
- 17:13Speaker 1: definitely is going to be willing to invest the most
- 17:16Speaker 1: on different props and maybe side action is Brandon Adams.
- 17:19Speaker 1: I mean, that's a clear cut favorite. He just played
- 17:22Speaker 1: a three thousand dollar poker tournament about a month ago.
- 17:26Speaker 1: He's played extremely high stakes tennis, plays as high stakes
- 17:29Speaker 1: as anyone in DFS. But Paul Duca is also in
- 17:33Speaker 1: the major leagues for a long time, and if you
- 17:35Speaker 1: you can look up the salary that he made, so um,
- 17:38Speaker 1: those would be my my two leaders. And then also
- 17:41Speaker 1: I guess Scott he just won seven or eight million
- 17:43Speaker 1: dollars in the World Series of Poker as well. So, uh,
- 17:46Speaker 1: there's some affluent people in this. Uh. In the gambling
- 17:49Speaker 1: Olympics here, all right, so let me go down the line, Bails,
- 17:52Speaker 1: I'll start with you. What is your threshold for the
- 17:56Speaker 1: highest limit you would bet on side action in at
- 18:01Speaker 1: the Gambling Olympics. Um. It would depend on what I
- 18:06Speaker 1: think my edges. So if I think I got some
- 18:09Speaker 1: like really good ridiculous that, um it's I would bet
- 18:17Speaker 1: a lot. I think interla. If it's something that's sort
- 18:21Speaker 1: of random R like rock paper sisters or something, UM,
- 18:26Speaker 1: I don't know, I would play. I would play anyone
- 18:27Speaker 1: if the if the sample are big enough, if we
- 18:29Speaker 1: were throwing like a hundred, like best of a hundred
- 18:32Speaker 1: one or something, I might do like I don't know,
- 18:37Speaker 1: K or fifty K or something like that. You would
- 18:40Speaker 1: do fifty k on a side action bet at the
- 18:42Speaker 1: Gambling Olympics. Yeah, that's actually an offer if anyone wants it.
- 18:47Speaker 1: That's of a hundred one though, that's of a hundred one.
- 18:51Speaker 1: What is the first rock papers rock paper scissions? Okay
- 18:58Speaker 1: you would do? Oh my god? Is it? Levitaner Jennings?
- 19:02Speaker 1: Are either of you taking Bails up on his best
- 19:07Speaker 1: of a hundred wins rock paper scissors for fifty grand?
- 19:13Speaker 1: This is like Bail's specialty, Like you're you're underselling how
- 19:17Speaker 1: good he thinks he is in this. I'm not sure
- 19:19Speaker 1: that he is that big of a favorite against competent
- 19:22Speaker 1: rock paper scissors like myself and Peter. But to his point,
- 19:26Speaker 1: I think, you know, like if somebody wanted to play
- 19:27Speaker 1: me and Connect four who hadn't played since they were
- 19:30Speaker 1: four years older, so you know that there would be
- 19:33Speaker 1: I would be such a big favorite that I would
- 19:34Speaker 1: also be want to play for a lot of money.
- 19:37Speaker 1: We've been in the lab on unconnect for running sims
- 19:39Speaker 1: and stuff like that. We're ready to go there, and
- 19:41Speaker 1: I think there's actually a lot of strategy in that game.
- 19:43Speaker 1: So to me, Connect four I think is the one
- 19:45Speaker 1: where you can actually generate the biggest edge against somebody,
- 19:47Speaker 1: so there be some some side action there for sure
- 19:51Speaker 1: to be had if I thought that the person hadn't
- 19:53Speaker 1: really played since they were a kid. All right. You
- 19:55Speaker 1: didn't answer the question though, Uh, which is are you
- 19:59Speaker 1: willing to take bails fifty k side action bet on
- 20:04Speaker 1: rock paper scissors? No? Thank you? Even if it was
- 20:07Speaker 1: fifty you know, I wouldn't. I wouldn't go even if
- 20:10Speaker 1: I thought I was a chance against bales. You know,
- 20:12Speaker 1: fift K wouldn't be smart in obviously. And what is
- 20:16Speaker 1: the most you'd be willing to do side action on
- 20:19Speaker 1: for connect four? Uh? If I had it down for
- 20:24Speaker 1: sure that the person had in plate since they were
- 20:25Speaker 1: four years old, yeah, you know, I don't know thirty
- 20:29Speaker 1: k something like that. I mean it's really a simple
- 20:32Speaker 1: like math problem, like you know, how much money do
- 20:35Speaker 1: you have? How big is your edge? And then just
- 20:37Speaker 1: go from there, all right, Jennings two questions, then three questions.
- 20:43Speaker 1: One are you willing to take bails on for fifty
- 20:49Speaker 1: k in Rock paper scissors for side action at the
- 20:52Speaker 1: Gambling Olympics starting July nine? Find coverage on Action network
- 20:56Speaker 1: dot com. I would not take at that bet with
- 21:00Speaker 1: bails unless I was given a price. If I was
- 21:03Speaker 1: given say plus one ten or one fifteen, meaning that
- 21:06Speaker 1: he'd have to risk his fifty five thousand to my fifty,
- 21:10Speaker 1: I would be interested in that bet. Although one thing
- 21:12Speaker 1: that I think is is very important to think about
- 21:14Speaker 1: in general with my friends, I try to keep the
- 21:18Speaker 1: units a lot lower than I would in something that
- 21:21Speaker 1: I'm really trying to make money, and like, for example,
- 21:23Speaker 1: in DFS, I'd be happy to risk fifty thousand UM
- 21:27Speaker 1: if I thought I had a solid r O. I first,
- 21:30Speaker 1: my friends would be much more hesitant just because of
- 21:31Speaker 1: the figure with good with good buddies. Alright, so would
- 21:36Speaker 1: you do thirt k with Levitan and connect four? I
- 21:42Speaker 1: think we've both been in the lab, so it's a
- 21:44Speaker 1: it's a solved game ultimately. I don't want to give
- 21:49Speaker 1: away too much, but it sounds like Levitan is really grinding.
- 21:51Speaker 1: So I would be very hesitant to do thirty thousand
- 21:54Speaker 1: verst Levitan and connect for all, right, what is your
- 21:58Speaker 1: max side action at? And then what event that you're
- 22:02Speaker 1: willing to proposition your fellow gambling Olympics participants in So
- 22:09Speaker 1: I like DFS and sports betting a lot. I think
- 22:12Speaker 1: those would be the two events that I think I
- 22:14Speaker 1: have a pretty decent edge, especially for some of the
- 22:16Speaker 1: opponents in the field. And yeah, I mean if I,
- 22:20Speaker 1: if there's the right person, I would be approaching a
- 22:22Speaker 1: six figure beat for sure. That's that that would be
- 22:24Speaker 1: kind of my threshold if I thought I had the
- 22:26Speaker 1: right r O I. And again Levitan broke it down
- 22:29Speaker 1: really well. It comes down to what you're expected, our
- 22:31Speaker 1: oy is and then basically taking what percentage your bankroll
- 22:34Speaker 1: you're willing to risk UH in that scenario. So I
- 22:37Speaker 1: think in in DFS in particular, if we're talking like
- 22:40Speaker 1: obviously going to be baseball in w n b A,
- 22:44Speaker 1: my edge is smaller than it would be saying like
- 22:45Speaker 1: the NBA, but there's still certain opponents where I would
- 22:48Speaker 1: be willing to make a really big bet in that game.
- 22:50Speaker 1: So you do. So this is great. In the span
- 22:53Speaker 1: at ten minutes, we now have close to two grand
- 22:55Speaker 1: on the table inside action bets alone. Forget about the
- 22:59Speaker 1: thirty that you guys are that the group is collective,
- 23:02Speaker 1: we're putting in you'll do almost six figures in sort
- 23:04Speaker 1: of DFS or sports betting. Levitan will do thirty k
- 23:08Speaker 1: in connect four and Bales will do fifty k and
- 23:12Speaker 1: rock paper scissors. I feel like we need to collect
- 23:15Speaker 1: all this information, create more content out of it and
- 23:17Speaker 1: post it as like the side action bets that are
- 23:21Speaker 1: already underway or are offered um in the gambling Olympics.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Oh yeah, and Brandon Adams again, he is the king
- 23:30Speaker 1: of side bets, so I think that could be someone
- 23:33Speaker 1: to to really monitor in terms of throwing down some
- 23:36Speaker 1: some interesting action. There's there's actually already already articles on
- 23:40Speaker 1: Action Network about some of the side action. There's the
- 23:43Speaker 1: one about my double bagel tennis bet against Brandon. Peter
- 23:46Speaker 1: and Baal's have the pull up bet. There's an article
- 23:50Speaker 1: about the Burro athlon up on Action Network. So we
- 23:53Speaker 1: have we have Peter over under fifty and a half
- 23:56Speaker 1: made three pointers, so we already have some some good
- 23:58Speaker 1: side action going. For sure? Did we list the money
- 24:00Speaker 1: amounts in those? Like I'm on the site and I
- 24:02Speaker 1: remember going through those, and I don't remember the money.
- 24:06Speaker 1: I don't believe we did, but it's fine by me
- 24:09Speaker 1: if we do. I think we need to what what
- 24:12Speaker 1: what are the money? What are the money totals? People
- 24:13Speaker 1: want to know the money, That's what makes the betting interesting. Uh,
- 24:19Speaker 1: it's not that big. So the double bagel against Brandon Adams,
- 24:22Speaker 1: I have fifteen hundred. Uh, the bro Athlon, I believe
- 24:27Speaker 1: it's two k to the winner. The fifty nine and
- 24:32Speaker 1: a half three pointers for Peter, I have a thousand.
- 24:35Speaker 1: I believe Peter may have given a couple of a
- 24:37Speaker 1: couple of other people some action on that as well.
- 24:39Speaker 1: And then I'm not sure what Peter and Bales have
- 24:41Speaker 1: on the pull up. That if two thousand on the
- 24:43Speaker 1: pull up, that between Bales and I I'm getting plus
- 24:46Speaker 1: seventeen and a half and Chad. One thing, if you
- 24:48Speaker 1: ever get involved in this stuff, I'd be very cautious
- 24:51Speaker 1: to do any sort of physical, uh, anything that would
- 24:55Speaker 1: involve strength with Jonathan Bales. He is nicknamed the Hulk.
- 25:00Speaker 1: And you say that as if I've never seen Jonathan
- 25:04Speaker 1: Bale spoken, Jonathan Bale spoken to Jonathan Bales or shaking
- 25:07Speaker 1: his hand like the guy can barely lift his shoulders
- 25:11Speaker 1: because his arms are so big. Yeah, it's pretty easy
- 25:14Speaker 1: to tell. The thing that we're kind of glossing over
- 25:17Speaker 1: here is it's all about opponents, right, Like a lot
- 25:19Speaker 1: of these side bets are against really sharp people like
- 25:21Speaker 1: I would never bet thirty k against Brandon or Peter
- 25:24Speaker 1: and or Bales and anything, because I know they're super
- 25:27Speaker 1: sharpen and they were they were going to bet that much,
- 25:29Speaker 1: they would be extremely prepared. When you say how much
- 25:31Speaker 1: would I play CONNECT for against somebody for it's all
- 25:34Speaker 1: about the opponent. That's just like everything in gambling. You know,
- 25:36Speaker 1: you're only as good as the person you're playing against.
- 25:38Speaker 1: You know, it's like, uh, certain people are really good
- 25:41Speaker 1: at high school basketball or something, and then all of
- 25:43Speaker 1: a sudden they go to college and they can't play.
- 25:45Speaker 1: You know, It's just all about opponents, just like a
- 25:46Speaker 1: lot of things in life. What do you mean you've
- 25:48Speaker 1: been in the lab? Would Connect four? So I don't
- 25:52Speaker 1: want to give too much away, but there has been
- 25:54Speaker 1: a lot written about optimal connect for strategy. There's an
- 25:57Speaker 1: M I T paper out there. I know some people
- 25:59Speaker 1: have read. And then there's some apps you can run
- 26:01Speaker 1: UM and play the computer and stuff like that and
- 26:03Speaker 1: kind of see what you should be doing and where
- 26:06Speaker 1: you should be going in certain situations, and you know,
- 26:08Speaker 1: setting up traps and just having a strategy just like
- 26:10Speaker 1: you would with any other strategy game. And people think
- 26:13Speaker 1: connect for is super simple. It's not. Um, it's actually
- 26:16Speaker 1: pretty deep and you do have to think a few
- 26:17Speaker 1: moves ahead. I'm pausing because the level of depth and uh,
- 26:28Speaker 1: some would say insanity that this has gotten to where
- 26:32Speaker 1: you're in the lab practicing connect for and willing to
- 26:35Speaker 1: bet someone thirty k on your connect for ability. A
- 26:39Speaker 1: lot of people listening to this would think, oh my god,
- 26:42Speaker 1: that's crazy, or they think, oh my god, these guys
- 26:44Speaker 1: are the coolest guys in the world. Um, but honestly
- 26:49Speaker 1: speaks to everything that we're trying to do, right, like Bails,
- 26:52Speaker 1: Is this not everything that sort of is interesting about
- 26:56Speaker 1: starting a company like the Action Network and then doing
- 26:58Speaker 1: the gambling Olympics. Yeah, of course it is. The This
- 27:03Speaker 1: is obviously the best part in the accent. It's just insanity.
- 27:08Speaker 1: So all in Bales, Levitan and Jennings Bales will start
- 27:15Speaker 1: with you. Um, other than what is the total amount
- 27:22Speaker 1: of action you will have at stake at the gambling Olympics. Um,
- 27:28Speaker 1: it's so tough to tell. I think that most of
- 27:30Speaker 1: it will um uh go down one way there, Peter
- 27:35Speaker 1: b a brand Adam but focus going to found a
- 27:38Speaker 1: lot of the side action I know I'm very confident
- 27:42Speaker 1: I'll have a lot more side action than the buy
- 27:45Speaker 1: in for the gambling Olympics. Um. I already have a
- 27:50Speaker 1: bunch of other side best side bets, which Levital and Munson.
- 27:54Speaker 1: But um, it's so tough to tell it really kind
- 27:57Speaker 1: of like Levitan put it, sounds on the opponent. I'm
- 28:00Speaker 1: not gonna um that a huge amount of money again,
- 28:03Speaker 1: someone that I think is like equal to me and
- 28:06Speaker 1: something I wouldn't bet Levitan and Connect for something. But
- 28:10Speaker 1: you know, like you said, I if uh, if I
- 28:12Speaker 1: could get action against someone who has a plate connect floor,
- 28:15Speaker 1: then uh, it could potentially be a huge bet. Another
- 28:19Speaker 1: thing to consider is um getting paid. So we know
- 28:24Speaker 1: each other, we trust each other. Um. You know, you
- 28:26Speaker 1: put a lot of plates in the offensive of the
- 28:31Speaker 1: of the person of people that you're betting against to
- 28:33Speaker 1: get paid. So that's that's a huge factor. So sometimes
- 28:36Speaker 1: getting action um where you think you have an edge
- 28:39Speaker 1: but you also trust the person to pay can be
- 28:42Speaker 1: the biggest limiting factor. And getting and getting some of
- 28:45Speaker 1: these side best downe Alright, Levitan, how much side action
- 28:49Speaker 1: are you gonna have an addition to your buying Yeah,
- 28:51Speaker 1: I'm looking at my sheet right now, looks like I
- 28:53Speaker 1: have ninety three hundred inside action going into the going
- 28:57Speaker 1: into the event, and maybe I'll get some more while
- 29:00Speaker 1: him out there. But we'll see. We got we got
- 29:01Speaker 1: a full plate, we have it. We got a full
- 29:03Speaker 1: full schedule out there, so we'll see what's going on.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Plus you've got thirty grand that you're willing to take
- 29:07Speaker 1: and connect four Bales has fifty grand, he's willing to
- 29:10Speaker 1: take on Rock paper scissors. Uh. Jennings, who's gonna go next,
- 29:15Speaker 1: has close to a hundred grand he's willing to take
- 29:18Speaker 1: in sports betting or DFS. What else is your side action? Uh?
- 29:24Speaker 1: Budget look like Yeah, I think I'm around the same
- 29:27Speaker 1: number as Levitan, just a little bit less and and
- 29:30Speaker 1: booked action already. And again we we've emphasized a lot.
- 29:33Speaker 1: It's gonna come down to the opponent. Um. There's there's
- 29:36Speaker 1: certain people I absolutely would not play in DFS um
- 29:39Speaker 1: for a large amount of money, but there's certain people
- 29:41Speaker 1: that I am interested to do that. We talked about
- 29:44Speaker 1: playing some ping pong. There's always golf props, So I
- 29:48Speaker 1: imagine I'll end up having a lot more action than
- 29:50Speaker 1: what I currently do have. But it's gonna come down to,
- 29:53Speaker 1: uh kind of what's offered. And that's the joy of
- 29:55Speaker 1: this entire process is getting you know, twelve grade guys.
- 29:59Speaker 1: I think we're all uh, there's a high trust factor
- 30:02Speaker 1: amongst everyone. And over the three days, with all the
- 30:05Speaker 1: different events and the wins and losses that people experience,
- 30:08Speaker 1: I imagine the action will really be flowing. So I
- 30:10Speaker 1: have to be strategic and really try to find the
- 30:13Speaker 1: best spots and have as much fun as possible. Alright,
- 30:16Speaker 1: So I love the Gambling Olympics. Follow it all. July
- 30:19Speaker 1: nine to eleven, the boys will be in Vegas with
- 30:22Speaker 1: nine other guys, all of whom whom have been mentioned
- 30:25Speaker 1: in the podcast. Also listen to the Three Donkeys podcast.
- 30:28Speaker 1: It's crazy, fun, crazy, smart um and it speaks to
- 30:33Speaker 1: like everything that that is interesting about people who bet
- 30:36Speaker 1: on sports and the psychology of betting on sports and
- 30:38Speaker 1: betting on life generally. Uh. In honor of the Three
- 30:42Speaker 1: Donkeys podcast, I want to play one game of a
- 30:45Speaker 1: lot and things which Levitan you refer to when it's
- 30:48Speaker 1: basically this game where you throw out a proposition and
- 30:52Speaker 1: you ask people to give you the answer of what
- 30:57Speaker 1: they believe the total number of this proposition is there
- 31:00Speaker 1: is no right answer. It's entirely based on um, how
- 31:05Speaker 1: you think I would be thinking about this particular proposition. So, like,
- 31:12Speaker 1: I remember once we played this game and it was
- 31:15Speaker 1: how many insects do you think there are in the
- 31:17Speaker 1: state of Kansas? And I think we put the total
- 31:19Speaker 1: at like a million or something like that. So here's
- 31:24Speaker 1: what I'm gonna ask. Uh, Lebron James signed with the
- 31:28Speaker 1: Los Angeles Lakers yesterday. Uh, how many people in the
- 31:32Speaker 1: world today hate Lebron James for signing with the Los
- 31:39Speaker 1: Angeles Lakers? Now, do I need to give you a
- 31:42Speaker 1: number so you can you can ask it to yourself, Chad.
- 31:45Speaker 1: We can have you be the person we're trying to guess,
- 31:47Speaker 1: so you can write down the number and then Levitan
- 31:50Speaker 1: and I can try to guess what you think. All right,
- 31:53Speaker 1: I got a number in my head. Can we define hate, Chad?
- 31:56Speaker 1: Because you know there could be dislike there could be
- 31:59Speaker 1: there could be a lot of fact is here visceral hatred?
- 32:02Speaker 1: They would go on to Twitter and say, I think
- 32:05Speaker 1: he's a bum. How many people would go on to
- 32:07Speaker 1: Twitter and say if they all had access to Twitter
- 32:11Speaker 1: or we're all on Twitter. I think he's a bum
- 32:14Speaker 1: and I hate him. And this is all the people
- 32:17Speaker 1: on Earth, Chad that know of Lebron James, all the
- 32:20Speaker 1: people on Earth. Bales go first. I'm going to say, um, uh,
- 32:29Speaker 1: twenty million. Interesting. Interesting. I can go next, So I'll
- 32:35Speaker 1: let you go last, Levy, I will. I will say
- 32:39Speaker 1: a hundred and fifteen million. Wow. Yeah. The object of
- 32:46Speaker 1: this game is to get into the person's head who's
- 32:48Speaker 1: answering the question. Obviously, I think Chad hasn't in his
- 32:51Speaker 1: head that a lot of people hate Lebron, so I
- 32:53Speaker 1: said ninety million, which I actually think is higher than
- 32:56Speaker 1: the real answer. But I said ninety million. That was
- 32:58Speaker 1: my thing. I think Chad thinks a lot of people
- 32:59Speaker 1: hate I would say that the winner is Jonathan Bales.
- 33:04Speaker 1: I said it at fifteen million. Yeah, that's not a
- 33:09Speaker 1: lot of people, considering how people there are in the world.
- 33:11Speaker 1: I know, but I don't think that many people hate
- 33:13Speaker 1: him anymore. That's my point. Yeah, that was exactly. Listen, everybody,
- 33:24Speaker 1: keep track of the gambling Olympics. UM follow it all
- 33:28Speaker 1: on Action Network dot com. Keep track of what these
- 33:31Speaker 1: guys are doing at Bales Football at CSU RAM right, Jennings.

- 33:42Speaker 1: Twitter handle because I can't look it up fast enough.
- 33:45Speaker 1: Adam Levitan, just my name, all one word, all of
- 33:48Speaker 1: you can find them uh on the Action Network Action
