- 0:00Speaker 1: Mister New York Mark Simone.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Wr Well, we a lot to get to this hour.
- 0:09Speaker 2: It was a pretty bad weekend weatherwise. I mean it
- 0:11Speaker 2: was probably the worst weekend of the winter, even worse
- 0:13Speaker 2: than those big snowfall weekends. I mean, it was so cold.
- 0:19Speaker 2: You just Saturday, just people just hibernated all day Friday night,
- 0:23Speaker 2: Saturday Saturday. Although I talked to people that went out,
- 0:26Speaker 2: there were people out. There were people in restaurants and
- 0:29Speaker 2: comedy clubs, in Broadway theaters and it wasn't easy though.
- 0:33Speaker 2: You know, it was actually colder on Saturday in New York.
- 0:36Speaker 2: It was colder than in Antarctica. That's absolutely true. It
- 0:41Speaker 2: was colder here than it was there for the probably
- 0:45Speaker 2: the first time ever. It was like fifteen below here
- 0:49Speaker 2: and something like five degrees Antarctica. So super Bowl last night,
- 0:54Speaker 2: a lot of people not coming to work today. They
- 0:57Speaker 2: call it miswork Monday, twenty six millillion people either take
- 1:01Speaker 2: the day off or call in sick because of the
- 1:04Speaker 2: Super Bowl. There's been talk of making it an actual holiday,
- 1:07Speaker 2: a three day weekend, making it the Monday a holiday.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Here's the problem, though, if you did it, your super
- 1:15Speaker 2: Bowl is you know, right now in February. If you
- 1:18Speaker 2: made this a holiday, this upcoming weekend, you got another holiday,
- 1:22Speaker 2: you got President's Day. Don't forget this weekend. You got
- 1:25Speaker 2: a three day weekend, so you don't want to do
- 1:27Speaker 2: two of those in a row. The simple answer would be,
- 1:30Speaker 2: moved the super Bowl to Saturday. It's just traditional on Sunday,
- 1:38Speaker 2: but move it to Saturday night. That's really the solution
- 1:41Speaker 2: to that. Restaurants would hate it. A lot of restaurants
- 1:44Speaker 2: lose a lot of money because people stay home super
- 1:46Speaker 2: Bowl parties, that sort of stuff, or if they go out,
- 1:49Speaker 2: it's usually to a sports place, not a regular restaurant.
- 1:52Speaker 2: But that's I mean, well, now it's better on Sunday.
- 1:58Speaker 2: It's got to be super Bowl Sunday. Football's on Sunday.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Super Bowl should be on Sunday. So Bad Bunny was
- 2:06Speaker 2: the halftime performer. Now at the so many people did
- 2:09Speaker 2: not want Bad Bunny, or they thought he might get political,
- 2:12Speaker 2: or they were, for one reason or another offended by
- 2:14Speaker 2: his choice of Bad Bunny. That the alternative was Kid Rock.
- 2:19Speaker 2: You could watch him online. He did the alternative half
- 2:22Speaker 2: point show, Turning Point USA ran it with Kid Rock.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Many people turned off the Super Bowl with bad Bunny
- 2:30Speaker 2: to go over and watch Kid Rock. Well, it turns
- 2:32Speaker 2: out it was about six million. Numbers still coming in
- 2:35Speaker 2: might hit seven million, but six million. You got to
- 2:39Speaker 2: figure out how many people watch the Super Bowl, Big
- 2:41Speaker 2: super Bowl sixty million. Maybe ten percent of the audience
- 2:43Speaker 2: turned it off and went over to watch Kid Rock.
- 2:46Speaker 2: It was otherwise a dull game, a mismatch Seattle. I
- 2:51Speaker 2: can't stay in Seattle, but the best defense in football.
- 2:54Speaker 2: I like the Patriots, but this team is too new.
- 2:57Speaker 2: They weren't ready for the Super Bowl. It was a low,
- 3:00Speaker 2: sluggish game, not a lot of scoring. Thank god it
- 3:03Speaker 2: finally ended.
- 3:04Speaker 1: That will do it, Seattle rains above them all. Give
- 3:10Speaker 1: the NFL the Seahawks super Bowl chickens for the second time.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Here you go. Now here's the other thing, Seattle Seahawks.
- 3:21Speaker 2: They may not exist next year. The Seahawks may have
- 3:23Speaker 2: to move. You know, Seattle, Washington. It's a crazy left
- 3:27Speaker 2: wing state with a woke government. And they want to
- 3:31Speaker 2: impose a tax on the football player, so big tax.
- 3:35Speaker 2: They want to tax them like crazy, not just the
- 3:39Speaker 2: team and the Seattle players, but any visiting team. So
- 3:44Speaker 2: if a team comes to play in Seattle, which of course,
- 3:47Speaker 2: will happen all the time. The players will get taxed.
- 3:51Speaker 2: They're going to hit them with this big, like ten
- 3:53Speaker 2: percent tax. Now, remember these guys are getting tens of
- 3:56Speaker 2: millions of dollars, so it's going to be a pretty
- 3:58Speaker 2: big tax. If they go through with this stupid tax,
- 4:01Speaker 2: I would imagine the Seahawks will have to move to
- 4:04Speaker 2: another city. It's ridiculous. Normally, in the past, if you
- 4:08Speaker 2: want to get a football team, you give them a
- 4:10Speaker 2: tax break because they bring in a ton of business revenue,
- 4:14Speaker 2: all sorts of glory and help your city. This crazy
- 4:20Speaker 2: left wing today's Democrats, and the old Democrats knew better.
- 4:23Speaker 2: But today's crazy Democrats think billionaires. Let's just tax them businesses.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Let's tax them, and they just move, they leave, they flee.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Your economy suffers, everything suffers, you lose jobs, you'll lose everything.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Then you get states like Florida and Texas. If you're
- 4:39Speaker 2: in Texas, they'll give you nothing but tax breaks if
- 4:41Speaker 2: you're a business. So every major business in the world
- 4:45Speaker 2: moves to Texas and the economy is absolutely booming. Same
- 4:49Speaker 2: thing with Florida. And this is tradition, this is the
- 4:52Speaker 2: way they used to do everything. You know, these rundown
- 4:56Speaker 2: Democrat cities, they're in shambles. If you just call up
- 5:00Speaker 2: every business in the world say if you open up here,
- 5:01Speaker 2: we'll give you, We'll make your tax free for ten years,
- 5:05Speaker 2: every business in the world would rush to open there. Now,
- 5:07Speaker 2: of course, you got mom Donnie here, who may may
- 5:10Speaker 2: do this to New York. He's talking about imposing new
- 5:12Speaker 2: taxes on businesses. Hey, by the way, remember when Donald
- 5:15Speaker 2: Trump tried to putting tariffs on and the left wing
- 5:19Speaker 2: went crazy, How tariffs is going to ruin everything? Well,
- 5:23Speaker 2: these are tariffs. Nobody puts on more tariffs than the Democrats.
- 5:27Speaker 2: They call it corporate tax, but it's tariffs. And if
- 5:31Speaker 2: you got heavy, we have the highest corporate tax in
- 5:33Speaker 2: the world right now. If you say I'm gonna increase
- 5:36Speaker 2: it ten percent, well that's a tariff. That's a ten
- 5:38Speaker 2: percent tariff. Here's Mom Donnie.
- 5:40Speaker 3: So the way that this tax works is it applies
- 5:42Speaker 3: to any business doing business here. They could be located
- 5:45Speaker 3: in Miami, but if they're doing business in New York,
- 5:47Speaker 3: it applies to them. And the reason I believe everyone
- 5:49Speaker 3: will keep doing business here is our economy is so
- 5:52Speaker 3: large that if it was a country, it would rival
- 5:54Speaker 3: the top countries in the world.
- 5:55Speaker 2: It don't count on it. You see that. Look at
- 5:57Speaker 2: the logic of this big, big tax. If you come
- 5:59Speaker 2: to New York and opening business. Now, if you're somewhere
- 6:03Speaker 2: else and you sell anything here, you're gonna get this big,
- 6:05Speaker 2: big tech. I mean, it's absolutely insane, Mom Donnie. It
- 6:09Speaker 2: turns out when it comes to the snow removal, it's
- 6:12Speaker 2: getting better. That might be the weather more than anything,
- 6:15Speaker 2: but it's a and he has picked up the garbage.
- 6:18Speaker 2: It was a little late, but most of the garbage
- 6:20Speaker 2: has gotten picked up. But you still got those snow banks.
- 6:23Speaker 2: But what happened for two weeks that all that snow
- 6:26Speaker 2: was piled up and it was ridiculous. Well, it turns out,
- 6:30Speaker 2: Mam Donnie failed to recruit enough emergency snow shovelers. This
- 6:34Speaker 2: is what you do in a storm like this. You
- 6:36Speaker 2: got a certain amount of shovelers, but when you're gonna
- 6:39Speaker 2: get a blizzard like that, you need more. So as
- 6:42Speaker 2: a Tuesday, all he had were nineteen or eighteen hundred,
- 6:45Speaker 2: eighteen hundred shovelers. In comparison in previous administration when they
- 6:51Speaker 2: had this, what they do is they go out and
- 6:53Speaker 2: they hire shovelers. They put out ads, they blitze the
- 6:56Speaker 2: community with ads. In the past, for instance, twenty and fifty,
- 7:00Speaker 2: we had sixty five hundred shovelers. Yeah, in fact, the
- 7:07Speaker 2: remember the blizzard back then, they had a big blizzard
- 7:09Speaker 2: thirty three inches. They had thirty five hundred shovelers at
- 7:13Speaker 2: one time, working sixty five hundred total. So we only
- 7:17Speaker 2: got eighteen hundred right now. Again, you got to go
- 7:20Speaker 2: out and you got massive advertising to hire these shovelers,
- 7:24Speaker 2: these laborers. According to the report's mom, Donnie, made a
- 7:29Speaker 2: half hearted outreach effort too late, didn't do enough and
- 7:33Speaker 2: didn't get enough shovelers. And that was the main problem
- 7:36Speaker 2: with all of that. So, hey, the Washington Post, this
- 7:40Speaker 2: is a fascinating story. They're laying off hundreds and hundreds
- 7:45Speaker 2: and hundreds of people. They laid off about a couple
- 7:47Speaker 2: hundred before, now three hundred this past week. The paper
- 7:51Speaker 2: is losing a fortune. It's own by Jeff Bezos. Of course,
- 7:54Speaker 2: everybody is up in arms yelling and screaming about these layoffs.
- 7:59Speaker 2: But but it was the staff of the Washington Post
- 8:05Speaker 2: and the people running it that caused the layoffs. They
- 8:07Speaker 2: went crazy left wing woke, Trump bashing like crazy. Trump
- 8:13Speaker 2: derangement syndrome was way out. It was so far to
- 8:15Speaker 2: the left. There is an audience for that. But you're
- 8:18Speaker 2: going to lose half the normal people. Half of America
- 8:20Speaker 2: will stop reading. So they basically got rid of half
- 8:23Speaker 2: their readers. And then when you get rid of half
- 8:27Speaker 2: your readers, you get rid of half your revenue, half
- 8:29Speaker 2: your income from the subscriptions and all that, and you
- 8:33Speaker 2: got to start laying off people. So they caused the layoffs.
- 8:35Speaker 2: They're yelling and screaming about it. Now, this paper is
- 8:39Speaker 2: such a mess that it loses one hundred million a year.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Do you know that it loses two million dollars a week.
- 8:47Speaker 2: At the end of every week, they're two million dollars
- 8:49Speaker 2: in debt. Jeff Bezos owns it. So at the end
- 8:53Speaker 2: of every week, Jeff Bezos has to write a check
- 8:56Speaker 2: for two million dollars just to keep this thing going.
- 9:00Speaker 2: I know he's a zillionaire, he's worth hundreds of billions,
- 9:02Speaker 2: but every week, at the end of the week he's
- 9:05Speaker 2: got to write a check for two million dollars just
- 9:07Speaker 2: to keep it going. How many years do you think
- 9:10Speaker 2: he's going to keep that up. He's a business guy,
- 9:12Speaker 2: he's a logical business guy. At some point he's going
- 9:15Speaker 2: to wonder why he used to keep writing a check
- 9:16Speaker 2: for two million every week to get it to keep
- 9:20Speaker 2: it going. So that's why all the layoffs. Now you
- 9:24Speaker 2: heard that the big CEO of the paper stepped down
- 9:27Speaker 2: over the weekend. Apparently he was told to get out.
- 9:32Speaker 2: He was in the middle of these layoffs. Last week,
- 9:34Speaker 2: they laid off three hundred people. In the middle of that,
- 9:37Speaker 2: the CEO was out at the Super Bowl, walking around
- 9:39Speaker 2: the red carpet, going to all the parties. Bezos said,
- 9:43Speaker 2: that's the final straw. He just can't take this guy.
- 9:46Speaker 2: He said, that's the last straw with this guy. And
- 9:49Speaker 2: he was basically told to get the hell out. He
- 9:51Speaker 2: lost patience with him. Middle of all these layoffs. He's
- 9:53Speaker 2: out there at the super Bowl. Absolutely ridiculous. The CEO
- 9:58Speaker 2: claims he decided to and you know, put out one
- 10:01Speaker 2: of those I want to spend more time with my family.
- 10:05Speaker 2: And if you've seen his family, nobody wants to spend
- 10:07Speaker 2: more time with them. So that's it. Now. I don't
- 10:10Speaker 2: know what what Bezos will do with this Washington Post.
- 10:14Speaker 2: It's pretty much hopeless. He could try to sell it,
- 10:17Speaker 2: but nobody wants These people don't read newspapers anymore. Twenty
- 10:24Speaker 2: two million people read newspapers in America now twenty two million.
- 10:29Speaker 2: One hundred and fifty nine million listen to the radio
- 10:32Speaker 2: sixty three million listen to AM radio. Newspapers twenty two million,
- 10:36Speaker 2: So it's not much. I don't know how you could
- 10:39Speaker 2: really sell it. The only possible buyers there is some
- 10:44Speaker 2: hint that Bloomberg might want to buy it. In fact,
- 10:48Speaker 2: a couple of years ago Bloomberg was there kicking the
- 10:50Speaker 2: tires on it, So Bloomberg a possible buyer. It's not
- 10:55Speaker 2: a good business, there's no logical reason to buy it,
- 10:57Speaker 2: but you know, Bloomberg is always trying to create some
- 10:59Speaker 2: sort of a media presence, more of a Washington presence,
- 11:02Speaker 2: so that's a possibility. The other thing is the Wall
- 11:05Speaker 2: Street Journal might buy it. The Wall Street Journal just
- 11:09Speaker 2: looking to expand there, or Washington DC coverage, they might
- 11:12Speaker 2: buy it. Murdoch is about the only guy who's still
- 11:16Speaker 2: really interested in newspapers, so that's a slight, slight possibility.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Nancy Guthrie, It's day nine. Now you know she needs
- 11:25Speaker 2: all kinds of medicine, heart medicine, blood pressure medicine. She
- 11:28Speaker 2: got cardiac problems. I've asked doctors if they kidnap her,
- 11:32Speaker 2: she has no medicine. If you're on all these medicines,
- 11:35Speaker 2: how long could you go. It's nine days without her medicine. Well,
- 11:39Speaker 2: they say it it's not good, but you could. You
- 11:42Speaker 2: could last a couple of weeks without the medicine. You know,
- 11:45Speaker 2: they found a lot of blood, trail of blood. One
- 11:49Speaker 2: of the things she was probably taking for the heart
- 11:51Speaker 2: problems was a blood thinner, So that's why all the blood.
- 11:55Speaker 2: It might not have been that much of an injury,
- 11:57Speaker 2: but the slightest little cut you can bleed a lot
- 11:59Speaker 2: when you're on those blood thinners. So we'll we'll see.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Today at five o'clock is a deadline, big deadline. Five
- 12:07Speaker 2: o'clock today, I supposed to deliver the six million dollar
- 12:13Speaker 2: ransom and bitcoin. You know, the old days, you had
- 12:15Speaker 2: to take the money, put it in a suitcase, They
- 12:17Speaker 2: give you a location, you drop it off, which meant
- 12:20Speaker 2: the kidnappers had to come pick up the money physically,
- 12:23Speaker 2: come pick it up somewhere. So that was a way
- 12:25Speaker 2: to catch them with the bitcoin. I don't know how
- 12:28Speaker 2: you catch them. I don't know how you ever traced them.
- 12:30Speaker 2: They could already be long gone out of the country.
- 12:32Speaker 2: But we'll see what happens later today. So mayor, Mom, Donnie,
- 12:38Speaker 2: and you're saying, why doesn't he do something, Why doesn't
- 12:43Speaker 2: he act? Why doesn't he Well, he's busy with this
- 12:46Speaker 2: is what he was busy with this weekend.
- 12:48Speaker 4: The story of the Hidra reminds us the prophet Muhammad
- 12:52Speaker 4: so the ala Ali who was seldom was a stranger too,
- 12:55Speaker 4: who fled Mecca and was welcomed in Medina. Sura Nahal
- 12:59Speaker 4: sixteen already two tells us as for those who immigrated
- 13:02Speaker 4: in the cause of a law after being persecuted, we
- 13:05Speaker 4: will surely bless them with a good home in this world. Or,
- 13:09Speaker 4: as the prophet Muhammed Salila Aleh was seldom said, Islam
- 13:13Speaker 4: began as something strange and will go back to being strange.
- 13:17Speaker 4: So glad tidings to the strangers.
- 13:19Speaker 2: What the hell are you talking about? Just pick up
- 13:21Speaker 2: the snow, What the hell are you talking about? Pick
- 13:23Speaker 2: up the garbage? What on earth are you saying this? Hey,
- 13:30Speaker 2: you gotta blame I hate to say, you gotta blame
- 13:33Speaker 2: Democratic voters. How the hell did you elect this guy?
- 13:36Speaker 2: What on earth were you thinking? What is wrong with you?
- 13:40Speaker 2: The real problem was Andrew Cuomo got in a race,
- 13:42Speaker 2: and everybody hates this guy. Nobody hates Andrew Culomo more
- 13:45Speaker 2: than the Democrats. So he got in the primary. It
- 13:47Speaker 2: was it was how it was how Mom Donnie won.
- 13:51Speaker 2: They just it was a lot of voting against Cuomo,
- 13:54Speaker 2: and they say, you know here, when you win the
- 13:57Speaker 2: Democrat primary, you win the election. Hey, by the way, way,
- 14:00Speaker 2: Cuomo is now doing a radio show. You should listen
- 14:02Speaker 2: to this. This guy is so far to the left.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Cuomo is so left wing. If you're thinking, yeeres, Mam
- 14:09Speaker 2: Donni is terrible, I wish we had Cuomo listen to
- 14:10Speaker 2: his radio show. Sometimes he is to the left of
- 14:14Speaker 2: Mam Donnie on most issues. This week talking about how
- 14:18Speaker 2: awful Ice is. Ice is so terrible. Ice a bunch
- 14:21Speaker 2: of fascists. There are a bunch of thugs. I mean,
- 14:23Speaker 2: you can use that language, but that's basically what he
- 14:25Speaker 2: was saying. Hey, we'll take some calls next, Scott Shannon.
- 14:28Speaker 2: In a few minutes, we'll talk about the super Bowl,
- 14:30Speaker 2: but we'll take some calls. Next eight hundred three two
- 14:33Speaker 2: one zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three
- 14:37Speaker 2: two one zero seven ten
