- 0:00Speaker 1: It's the Mark Simon Show, Live from the wor Life
- 0:04Speaker 1: Back studios. Well, hey, it's gonna be a rainy day today.
- 0:11Speaker 1: That could be heavier times later. Today it's Thursday. I
- 0:14Speaker 1: got one more day. Tomorrow'll be a nice day, and
- 0:16Speaker 1: then you got the weekend. We're gonna rain again. This
- 0:18Speaker 1: has been one lousy summer weather wise. Hey, it's National
- 0:22Speaker 1: Radio Today today. I don't know what the hell that means.
- 0:26Speaker 1: National Radio Day. They've got a day for everything else,
- 0:29Speaker 1: might as well be a National radio to day. You
- 0:31Speaker 1: know how many people listen to the radio in nineteen
- 0:34Speaker 1: seventy six, ninety two percent of America ninety two percent.
- 0:41Speaker 1: You know how many people listen to radio today, ninety
- 0:44Speaker 1: two percent. It didn't change, same amount of people listen
- 0:48Speaker 1: to the radio today that listen years ago. How many
- 0:51Speaker 1: people listen to the radio every day, one hundred and
- 0:53Speaker 1: fifty nine million. Actually it's one hundred and sixty three million.
- 0:58Speaker 1: You got about six million that listened to talk radio
- 1:01Speaker 1: every day. So it's doing pretty well. National Radio Day today.
- 1:05Speaker 1: In fact, we're having a big iHeart event tonight actually
- 1:09Speaker 1: this afternoon and this evening at two Park Avenue. That's
- 1:13Speaker 1: a beautiful rooftop venue high above Park Avenue, all our
- 1:17Speaker 1: big sponsors, advertisers, and there we will have all the
- 1:21Speaker 1: top radio hosts in New York will all be there
- 1:25Speaker 1: to meet them and should be pretty interesting. So this
- 1:30Speaker 1: El Sayad in Michigan, this creepy, anti Semitic, awful guy,
- 1:35Speaker 1: this socialist El Sayad, now he's talking about go even
- 1:39Speaker 1: further than Bernie Sanders, that there should be a public
- 1:44Speaker 1: ownership of major US industries. You see, they always trying
- 1:47Speaker 1: to make it sound like they're not communists, that they're socialists,
- 1:51Speaker 1: but they're talking about seizing the company's, seizing control of industry,
- 1:56Speaker 1: seizing control of the means of production. And he just
- 1:59Speaker 1: came right out, said he came right out and said it.
- 2:02Speaker 1: He said the government. He said, well, he's saying the
- 2:05Speaker 1: government should not take ownership of but they should have
- 2:08Speaker 1: seats on the board. They should have public control of
- 2:12Speaker 1: the companies. Now you're talking out and out communism. This
- 2:17Speaker 1: is all going to fizzle out at some point. It's
- 2:19Speaker 1: going to be the end of Democrats. It's great to
- 2:22Speaker 1: see the civil war taking place in the Democratic Party.
- 2:26Speaker 1: But and I know in Florida, the socialist, crazy one
- 2:31Speaker 1: her primary in one of those districts. But that's only
- 2:33Speaker 1: because she was up against the creepiest guy in the world,
- 2:36Speaker 1: Alexander Vinman, that rotten little worm that he was part
- 2:41Speaker 1: of the worst impeachment hoax ever perpetrated, and he was
- 2:45Speaker 1: so repulsive to the public they couldn't vote against this
- 2:48Speaker 1: guy fast enough. That's the only reason that Socialist one Hey.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Crypto is doing very well today because the President had
- 2:56Speaker 1: this big crypto meeting yesterday. People talking about regulating crypto
- 3:02Speaker 1: and he's talking about they've got to pass just the
- 3:06Speaker 1: right regulation that allows it to grow. So it caused
- 3:09Speaker 1: crypto to go way up today. Now the President, in
- 3:13Speaker 1: some ways, he's like a kid. He's like a crypto guy.
- 3:16Speaker 1: He's a texting and tweeting. And they had a meeting
- 3:19Speaker 1: of all these big crypto guys, even the Winklevoss twins.
- 3:24Speaker 1: You remember the Winklevoss twins from Connecticut, These two rowing
- 3:28Speaker 1: team looking idiots. There they were there. Here's the President.
- 3:32Speaker 1: It's taking a lot of pressure off the dollar. It's
- 3:35Speaker 1: been very very good for the dollar. And I think
- 3:37Speaker 1: if you came in with recommendations two of you, if
- 3:40Speaker 1: you came in with some recommendations I would certainly listen. Yeah,
- 3:43Speaker 1: so very friendly with the crypto community. Now some will
- 3:46Speaker 1: yell and screamaalle, he's profiting off the crypto market himself,
- 3:49Speaker 1: his family, they're making fortune off crypto. Well good if
- 3:53Speaker 1: you can figure out that crypto market, I can't. Well
- 3:56Speaker 1: good for you. Hey, you know what a big day Maderna.
- 4:00Speaker 1: There's a new cancer vaccine that will prevent the worst
- 4:03Speaker 1: form of skin cancer. But this new cancer vaccine did
- 4:07Speaker 1: very well in these clinical trials, and these initial data
- 4:11Speaker 1: studies looks like I mean just early trials. Well actually
- 4:15Speaker 1: it's late stage trials, but it looks like it's working.
- 4:18Speaker 1: That would be a big thing, that cancer vaccine. So
- 4:21Speaker 1: Maderna stock yesterday up one hundred and seventy seven percent,
- 4:26Speaker 1: one hundred and seventy seven percent. As we mentioned before,
- 4:29Speaker 1: Fauci's chief guy, doctor David Morenz. This is the guy
- 4:34Speaker 1: Fauci was in cahoots with and we didn't. He was
- 4:38Speaker 1: asked to testify publicly a few years ago about this.
- 4:42Speaker 1: David Morenz and Fauci publicly in the hearing under oath
- 4:45Speaker 1: the time. I don't know the guy, I'm not aware
- 4:49Speaker 1: of him. I don't communicate with him. No, I don't
- 4:52Speaker 1: know who he is. And well, the diary comes out
- 4:55Speaker 1: and he's communicating with him day and night. They're texting
- 4:58Speaker 1: back and forth, they're send an email back and forth.
- 5:01Speaker 1: The reason is David Morenz was the guy involved in
- 5:04Speaker 1: covering up where the virus came from. It leaked out
- 5:08Speaker 1: of that lab and Morenz was busy covering it up.
- 5:11Speaker 1: So that's why Fauci denied knowing the guy. But if
- 5:13Speaker 1: you look through the diary stuff, it's clear that he
- 5:17Speaker 1: and this guy are busy covering up that it came
- 5:20Speaker 1: out of the lab that they funded. They're doing everything
- 5:23Speaker 1: to cover this up. So the two of them in cahoots. Well,
- 5:26Speaker 1: this David Morenz was convicted. He actually pled guilty because
- 5:32Speaker 1: they had him, they had him covering up the origins
- 5:35Speaker 1: of the virus. He was convicted. He's scheduled to be
- 5:39Speaker 1: sentenced by November twelfth, and he's facing five years in prison.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Now it'll be interesting will he talk for a lesser sentence? Now?
- 5:49Speaker 1: The problem is Fauci was given a pardon by Joe Biden,
- 5:53Speaker 1: which covers the activity during that period back then. So
- 5:59Speaker 1: I don't know, I mean they could try to Usually,
- 6:02Speaker 1: if you got dirt on Fauci or somebody, you try
- 6:05Speaker 1: to trade it to get a lesser sentence. I don't
- 6:08Speaker 1: know what's going to happen with that. Also, it's the
- 6:11Speaker 1: US district judge in Maryland. I know, you get these
- 6:13Speaker 1: left wing judges. They don't want to have any dirt
- 6:16Speaker 1: on Fauci. They want to preserve the false reputation of
- 6:20Speaker 1: this awful Fauci. Mayor Mondanni. You know he loves to
- 6:24Speaker 1: ride a bike. He's always zipping around New York on
- 6:27Speaker 1: his city bike with a suit and tie on and
- 6:30Speaker 1: no helmet. They're always yelling at him he's not wearing
- 6:32Speaker 1: a helmet. Well, he made a big deal out of
- 6:34Speaker 1: getting a bike helmet. He doesn't accomplish much, but he
- 6:39Speaker 1: accomplished this. He actually got himself a bike helmet. And
- 6:42Speaker 1: of course it's mom Donnie. So what did he do.
- 6:44Speaker 1: He made a video He tiktoked about it, and there's
- 6:48Speaker 1: a video going viral TikTok Instagram of Mom Donnie and
- 6:53Speaker 1: his new bike helmet, still wearing a suit and tie
- 6:56Speaker 1: when he rides a bike around, though only about these
- 7:00Speaker 1: Bagel places. All of a sudden they're everywhere. Like Utopia
- 7:03Speaker 1: Bagel that was in Queen's Best Bagels in New York,
- 7:08Speaker 1: most critics agreed, and now they're everywhere. There's two in Manhattan,
- 7:12Speaker 1: there's three in Manhattan. They're opening here, they're opening there,
- 7:15Speaker 1: and you see this all the time. Now the new
- 7:16Speaker 1: one is pop up bagels. What happens is and it was
- 7:20Speaker 1: created by a couple of kids in Connecticut. Pop up bagels.
- 7:23Speaker 1: They're really good. But what happens is you become really hot,
- 7:26Speaker 1: you open in Manhattan, you become very successful, and then
- 7:30Speaker 1: hedge fund guys show up, and hedge fund guys will
- 7:33Speaker 1: pump in whatever you know, we go to you need
- 7:34Speaker 1: two hundred million, we'll open them all over the country.
- 7:37Speaker 1: And this is happening with a lot of these bagel places.
- 7:40Speaker 1: This is gonna be the new thing. Normally outside of
- 7:42Speaker 1: New York, they've never seen a bagel, but now they're everywhere.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Pop up bagels. They're going to open a couple of
- 7:47Speaker 1: hundred of these, and again hedge fund guys pumping money in.
- 7:50Speaker 1: They're starting to spread all over the place. If you're
- 7:52Speaker 1: in Long Island. You got one in Rosalind, but you're
- 7:55Speaker 1: getting more there's one coming to Garden City, there's one
- 7:59Speaker 1: coming to Huntington's Station and huntings In Station. Hey, you
- 8:04Speaker 1: hedge fund guys, you should switch that to Huntington a
- 8:06Speaker 1: little little better. But you're going to see these all
- 8:10Speaker 1: over the place, and it's going to happen chained by chain.
- 8:12Speaker 1: These hedge fund guys now hunting around for a chain
- 8:15Speaker 1: that can pump a few hundred million into open all
- 8:18Speaker 1: over the place. Hey, those crazy gen zers, Well, it's
- 8:24Speaker 1: mostly the men, though apparently it's a new trend among
- 8:27Speaker 1: gen zers to not work. They are dropping out of
- 8:31Speaker 1: the job market. The male gen zers, the lowest percentage
- 8:36Speaker 1: ever are now working. These are people between eighteen and
- 8:38Speaker 1: thirty four. They don't believe in working anymore. It's too hard.
- 8:43Speaker 1: You got to go to work, you have to, it's
- 8:46Speaker 1: too much trouble. They can't be body. So they're basically
- 8:50Speaker 1: sitting at home, many of them living with their parents.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Why is this a sociologist studying this thing. They're the
- 8:56Speaker 1: most pessimistic generation ever and they're skeptical of capitalism. They're
- 9:03Speaker 1: skeptical of capitalism. They don't really believe in it. They'd
- 9:06Speaker 1: rather sit at home and they like socialism. That's why
- 9:10Speaker 1: they like socialism. They don't want to work. They'd like
- 9:12Speaker 1: to sit at home. Thank you to all of you
- 9:15Speaker 1: college professors who drilled this into these kids, said, thank you,
- 9:18Speaker 1: Harvard Columbia, all you Ivy League schools who were turned
- 9:22Speaker 1: out from your indoctrination camp. Millions have screwed up gen
- 9:27Speaker 1: zers who can't work, who vote for mom Donnie Hey.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Out in the Hamptons, they had a the Southampton Playhouse.
- 9:38Speaker 1: You know, you got there to these things. You always
- 9:40Speaker 1: hear about the glamorous Hampton's. Ooh, the Southampton Playhouse, the
- 9:44Speaker 1: Hampton's this, the Hampton's Galley. You know, when you get
- 9:46Speaker 1: out there to these things, they're pretty glitzy fancy. But
- 9:49Speaker 1: everybody's eighty five. They're all old. They're all sixty five,
- 9:54Speaker 1: seventy seventy five. If you're sixty year kid out in
- 9:57Speaker 1: the Hamptons, they're all old, and every one of them,
- 10:00Speaker 1: howie you, and they got nothing to do most of
- 10:05Speaker 1: the time. You know, all these these Hampton's people, they
- 10:08Speaker 1: don't ever go to the beach, they don't play golf.
- 10:11Speaker 1: They just go to restaurants, they go to parties, they
- 10:14Speaker 1: go to gallas, if this is not a joke. One
- 10:18Speaker 1: of them who lived in a big, fabulous house in Southampton,
- 10:21Speaker 1: I said something about it. I was at the beach
- 10:23Speaker 1: and she said, what beach? I said, there's a beach.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Where's there a beach? I said, down at the end
- 10:28Speaker 1: of your street, down at Dune Road. I mean you
- 10:31Speaker 1: have to go through the trees. But there's a what beach.
- 10:33Speaker 1: They hadn't living there twenty years, had no idea there's
- 10:36Speaker 1: a beach there. But the other thing they do is
- 10:38Speaker 1: they have movies they go to It's like movie night.
- 10:41Speaker 1: This is like going to camp where you have movie night.
- 10:43Speaker 1: So movie night last week was the Southampton Playhouse. Guess
- 10:46Speaker 1: what movie they showed, Sweet Charity. Yeah, that's that nineteen
- 10:52Speaker 1: sixty nine movie. That's how old this crowd is. They
- 10:54Speaker 1: show an old musical from nineteen sixty nine, but to
- 10:57Speaker 1: this crowd it's good enough for them. That starred Shirley McLain.
- 11:02Speaker 1: So they got Shirley McClain to do a video before
- 11:06Speaker 1: the movie starts. They would show a video of her
- 11:08Speaker 1: welcoming the audience. She's ninety two now and you can
- 11:12Speaker 1: find the video online. But you'll get upset, don't look
- 11:16Speaker 1: at it. Oh my god, what she looks like now
- 11:20Speaker 1: ninety two. She looks one hundred and fifty in this video.
- 11:22Speaker 1: It's just not you would never recognize you. You never know
- 11:25Speaker 1: who it is. So they got her, it says, they
- 11:28Speaker 1: got her to do it. She's ninety two, sitting at
- 11:30Speaker 1: home with nothing to do, probably couldn't believe anybody was
- 11:32Speaker 1: asking her for anything. But she said, I want you
- 11:36Speaker 1: to see Sweet Charity again now while you're watching it.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Remember how hard we worked. And she said, between you
- 11:42Speaker 1: and me, it didn't do very well. So I hope
- 11:45Speaker 1: you guys like it. So that's what they do in
- 11:48Speaker 1: the Hampton's on movie night. They see an old film
- 11:51Speaker 1: that bombed in nineteen sixty nine, but for them good enough.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Why not? So hey, legionnaire's disease. You haven't been hearing
- 12:00Speaker 1: about that much. It disappeared from the news, but that
- 12:02Speaker 1: legionnaire's disease is still popping up. In fact, I hate
- 12:07Speaker 1: to say it, but there's been a couple of problems
- 12:09Speaker 1: in midtown Manhattan. There's won a fifty ninth and seventh
- 12:13Speaker 1: legionnaire's disease popping up a little here and there. Now
- 12:16Speaker 1: you got West Nile virus to worry about. The first
- 12:20Speaker 1: case is turned up in New York. Nationally, two hundred
- 12:25Speaker 1: and twenty two cases of West Nile virus, it's mostly Arizona, California,
- 12:30Speaker 1: and Texas, but the first case showed up in New York. Now,
- 12:32Speaker 1: it could be that they didn't get it here, that
- 12:35Speaker 1: they got it somewhere else and came here. You get
- 12:37Speaker 1: it from Mosquitos, so be very careful of that. Now,
- 12:44Speaker 1: the CDC says it's easily preventable, very easily where insect
- 12:50Speaker 1: repellent cover up during dawn and dusk. Well, that doesn't
- 12:55Speaker 1: sound I got a fun spraying yourself with insect repellent
- 12:58Speaker 1: covering up everything in the middle of the hot summer.
- 13:01Speaker 1: That doesn't sound that easy to get. And it says
- 13:03Speaker 1: also get rid of standing water around your home. Yeah,
- 13:06Speaker 1: that's very important. That's how you get that legionnaire's disease too.
- 13:10Speaker 1: It's standing water in those cooling tanks up there, and
- 13:14Speaker 1: you get it when it's very very very very hot,
- 13:18Speaker 1: standing water. And remember we had a couple of heat waves.
- 13:20Speaker 1: That's why all of a sudden we got it here. Hey,
- 13:23Speaker 1: President Trump says he'll meet with Kim jung un, and
- 13:28Speaker 1: he'll visit him, meet with him. I don't just say
- 13:30Speaker 1: the White House. He may go there, but he's you know,
- 13:35Speaker 1: there's always a rumors about how many nuclear weapons North
- 13:41Speaker 1: Korea has. How many nuclear weapons does Kim Jung un have? Well,
- 13:46Speaker 1: intelligence assessment said fifty and sixty, but Trump, when he
- 13:50Speaker 1: was speaking, let the numbers slip out. I don't know
- 13:51Speaker 1: if you were supposed to say it, but he said
- 13:53Speaker 1: he has fifty seven very powerful nuclear weapons. So the
- 13:57Speaker 1: intelligence reports were once, we're pretty accurate, fifty seven nuclear weapons.
- 14:02Speaker 1: But Trump has figured out how to appease this guy,
- 14:05Speaker 1: this Kim Jong un, keep him quiet, keep them peaceful.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Now the problem is you'll get another president. We'll rile
- 14:12Speaker 1: this nutjob up again. So you never know. Hey, we'll
- 14:15Speaker 1: take some calls. Next. Eight hundred three two one zero
- 14:19Speaker 1: seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three two one
- 14:23Speaker 1: zero seven ten
