- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Welcome back to Almost Famous. It's been I'm here and
- 0:09Speaker 2: I have an incredible co host today and we have
- 0:12Speaker 2: a lot to break down. Bachelor in Paradise is happening.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Episode four of Paradise has just aired a few minutes ago,
- 0:19Speaker 2: and we're here right now to talk about everything we saw, experience,
- 0:23Speaker 2: think and feel. And we have not only a former
- 0:28Speaker 2: paradiser but one of America's favorite bachelorettes along with Now,
- 0:35Speaker 2: I think I'm gonna call a reality star because I
- 0:38Speaker 2: don't think we can just consume this within the Bachelor world.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Rachel Rekia, thank you for co hosting with me today.
- 0:46Speaker 3: Hi Ben, thank you for having me. I'm so excited.
- 0:49Speaker 3: I have so many thoughts. Oh, lot to go over.
- 0:52Speaker 2: I have zero doubt when Rachel comes on that she's
- 0:55Speaker 2: gonna have thoughts.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Oh, I'm prepared with my notes. Always so much to say.
- 1:00Speaker 2: And I ask for a co host. Rachel's my top choice.
- 1:02Speaker 2: But Rachel, before we jump into this together, because we're
- 1:05Speaker 2: on the same team today, I do have to interview
- 1:10Speaker 2: you for a second.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Of course, I expect nothing less.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Now it has just come out that on August first,
- 1:19Speaker 2: there's a new Netflix show called The Perfect Match that
- 1:24Speaker 2: you're going to be on along with Clayton Eckerd.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Who would have thought those two names? I went back
- 1:30Speaker 3: in the same sentence you did.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Yeah, somebody's gonna try to bring that back. If somebody's
- 1:35Speaker 2: gonna try to make that happen, Rachel, I know you
- 1:40Speaker 2: well enough, but I'm not gonna claim to know your
- 1:43Speaker 2: ins and outs in dating and your lifestyle choices. I
- 1:46Speaker 2: know you well enough to know that I like you,
- 1:49Speaker 2: and I appreciate you, and I respect you, and I
- 1:52Speaker 2: get excited anytime we're going to be on the same
- 1:54Speaker 2: trip together because I know you're a good time. I
- 1:57Speaker 2: watched the trailer for The Perfect Match. It looks what's
- 2:03Speaker 2: the I'm going to say the word sexy, promiscuous.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Yes, very out of my element. Netflix is very sexy.
- 2:11Speaker 3: It's like too hot to handle, Temptation Island, and then
- 2:15Speaker 3: randomly like there's Bachelor people there. But I like to,
- 2:20Speaker 3: you know, I try to step out of my comfort
- 2:22Speaker 3: zone a little. I think I did that. So, yes,
- 2:25Speaker 3: the show is very different I think from what the
- 2:28Speaker 3: Bachelor audience is used to.
- 2:29Speaker 2: I don't we're not going to spend a ton of
- 2:31Speaker 2: time on this. I think it's gonna be a great show.
- 2:33Speaker 2: I'm very excited to watch it. We're gonna be breaking
- 2:34Speaker 2: it down. Actually right here, I'm almost.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Oh god, god, Yeah, okay, So I can't wait to
- 2:40Speaker 3: hear your thoughts. I'm actually kind of scared.
- 2:43Speaker 2: But yeah, I mean, I'm going to say it, like
- 2:47Speaker 2: I feel it. We're going to protect you.
- 2:50Speaker 3: I was gonna say, you better say nothing bad about me.
- 2:52Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 2:52Speaker 3: I was an angel the whole time I was an angel.
- 2:55Speaker 3: It did nothing wrong.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Did you feel I mean, I feel like I would
- 2:58Speaker 2: have felt this way, But you know, being the lead
- 3:01Speaker 2: on such a huge franchise like The Bachelorette, do you
- 3:05Speaker 2: feel more hesitant kind of going on these other shows
- 3:09Speaker 2: when somebody's like, hey, get in a bikini and let
- 3:11Speaker 2: somebody take a body shot off of you. Which I
- 3:13Speaker 2: only say that because we just saw that during this
- 3:15Speaker 2: episode of Paradise. Yeah, Like, would you feel a little
- 3:19Speaker 2: bit more reserved than others or do you feel like
- 3:24Speaker 2: you just still.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Dove in Well, I definitely dove into the best of
- 3:28Speaker 3: my ability. I don't think The Bachelorette is something that
- 3:32Speaker 3: ever held me back, but I still do have a
- 3:34Speaker 3: job as a pilot and a teacher, so I definitely
- 3:37Speaker 3: keep that in the back of my mind. I never
- 3:38Speaker 3: did anything really that the audience hasn't seen me do.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Like if I kiss a bunch of people, they've already
- 3:44Speaker 3: seen me kiss thirty two So nothing too bad. But no,
- 3:49Speaker 3: I was really excited to like jump in and I
- 3:51Speaker 3: hope you guys enjoy it, and I can't wait to
- 3:53Speaker 3: hear the thoughts.
- 3:54Speaker 2: I can't wait to watch it. Last question, I only
- 3:57Speaker 2: know you and I won't even say who it was
- 3:59Speaker 2: to date one person post bachelorette or have any type
- 4:03Speaker 2: of fling with them. Is this show about finding love?
- 4:07Speaker 2: Like you go on to it hoping that you find
- 4:09Speaker 2: your perfect match or is it more of a it's
- 4:11Speaker 2: a good time, let's just do it.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Well, I think for the most part, like a lot
- 4:17Speaker 3: of people just go on for it's like paradise, kind
- 4:19Speaker 3: of like the Vibes. But our season actually we have
- 4:23Speaker 3: an engagement and a baby, multiple engagements, so it's like
- 4:28Speaker 3: this season was supposed to be a fling, and when
- 4:30Speaker 3: you go into it like that, I think that's when
- 4:32Speaker 3: serious things happen.
- 4:33Speaker 2: So you could be engaged right now, you could be child.
- 4:39Speaker 2: I don't know you anymore.
- 4:41Speaker 3: I know you do you do?
- 4:43Speaker 2: I don't know?
- 4:44Speaker 3: But yeah, No, this is definitely their most serious season.
- 4:47Speaker 3: That's why I think they brought in Bachelor people and
- 4:49Speaker 3: people from more serious shows, because they wanted that kind
- 4:52Speaker 3: of vibe and they got it. But still sexy.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Well, we're gonna be excited watching in August first on Netflix,
- 4:59Speaker 2: perfect match with our girl Rachel and Clayton. Who knows
- 5:04Speaker 2: there could be a new a rekindled fling happened, which
- 5:08Speaker 2: would be even more mind bowing, which I'd have so
- 5:10Speaker 2: much to say, and I probably wouldn't protect Rachel at
- 5:13Speaker 2: that point, but Rachel, let's dive into.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Yeah, enough about that. So many thoughts. I want to
- 5:21Speaker 3: know your opinion on this season two, and that's.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Where I want to start. I want to start with
- 5:26Speaker 2: kind of the overarching let's like regroup, catch up. It's
- 5:30Speaker 2: episode four. The Goldens are now on the beach. We're
- 5:33Speaker 2: seeing relationships deepen, We're also seeing relationships start to dwindle
- 5:38Speaker 2: and fray. Overall you've been in Paradise, You've watched yourself
- 5:43Speaker 2: in paradise. My thoughts have always been this. I don't
- 5:48Speaker 2: hate the modernization. I do. I do not like the location.
- 5:52Speaker 2: I will say that it's very confusing for me. Compared
- 5:56Speaker 2: even four episodes in, It's hard for me to track
- 5:58Speaker 2: where people are at what they're doing. I miss people
- 6:01Speaker 2: just being on the beach, lounging, swimming, chasing whatever they
- 6:05Speaker 2: were chasing. I miss the bugs. I miss seeing like,
- 6:08Speaker 2: really beautiful people smack bugs off their faces in the
- 6:11Speaker 2: middle of the night. I love that. I think it's
- 6:13Speaker 2: a great element of the show that people enjoyed. I
- 6:16Speaker 2: don't now. I'm getting used to the like kind of
- 6:19Speaker 2: the filming and how it's edited and the modernization of that.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I don't hate it as much as I used to,
- 6:25Speaker 2: But I will say this, I am still four episodes
- 6:29Speaker 2: in discombobulated while watching the show because I don't feel
- 6:34Speaker 2: like I understand what's happening and where people are kind
- 6:37Speaker 2: of like mingling, and as a result, I lose touch.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Because I used to love it when somebody would watch
- 6:44Speaker 2: walk down the stairs of like the cabana room, and
- 6:48Speaker 2: I would know that, like, hey, there's significant others making
- 6:50Speaker 2: out with somebody in the pool, and they're gonna walk
- 6:52Speaker 2: right up on them. I miss that part of it.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I don't know what this resort looks like right.
- 6:58Speaker 3: It's almost like, as a viewer, you could walk around
- 7:01Speaker 3: the old villa and know exactly where everything was. Yes,
- 7:04Speaker 3: I'm so happy I was on Paradise before this, Like
- 7:07Speaker 3: no shade, Well, I'm gonna probably shade a little bit.
- 7:10Speaker 3: But I like you said, everything has to be updated right.
- 7:14Speaker 3: The way we were doing stuff was a little bit behind.
- 7:17Speaker 3: I think we could have still done an update in
- 7:21Speaker 3: a Bachelor way. What I don't like is it feels
- 7:24Speaker 3: like it's trying to be not the Bachelor anymore. And
- 7:26Speaker 3: that's where I feel like it's just not like doing
- 7:29Speaker 3: well for me. I don't like the dream sequence thing
- 7:33Speaker 3: that they're doing this little like I don't know. I
- 7:37Speaker 3: like the editing. I like that they get to have
- 7:39Speaker 3: you know, Ac, that's great for them. I like that
- 7:40Speaker 3: they're eating on camera. Amazing. But it's just a lot
- 7:44Speaker 3: of change at once, and a lot of change with
- 7:47Speaker 3: the Goldens coming in and with the cast. I feel
- 7:49Speaker 3: like getting the short end of the stick of six
- 7:52Speaker 3: couples total, Like how do you find options in that?
- 7:56Speaker 3: And now the couples are all locked in because there's
- 7:58Speaker 3: no one there. I don't know.
- 8:01Speaker 2: No, I'm with you, I'm tracking. I agree with everything.
- 8:04Speaker 2: They've slowly eliminated the dream sequence more and more. I
- 8:09Speaker 2: can tell yeah to the audience, being like, this is
- 8:12Speaker 2: just distracting from the show. I personally, Rachel, you might
- 8:20Speaker 2: hate this. I loved watching you have bugs like I
- 8:25Speaker 2: loved watching have crabs while they're trying to use their
- 8:30Speaker 2: morning constitutional. I loved seeing like the most put together
- 8:35Speaker 2: social media influencer who's always like looking clean and nice,
- 8:41Speaker 2: sweat through their bikini and no, I agree, like I
- 8:46Speaker 2: loved it. I thought that was the best thing.
- 8:48Speaker 3: I miss seeing the people on the beach looking so
- 8:51Speaker 3: to shovel and then the new fresh person coming down.
- 8:54Speaker 3: You could tell who's been there the longest. Now everyone
- 8:56Speaker 3: looks fresh. Yeah, this isn't fair, Like you need to
- 8:59Speaker 3: look at their and you need to have bugweites on
- 9:01Speaker 3: your face and sand in your bed. Yeah, that's paradise.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Eating French fries, like surviving off round fried food. It's
- 9:10Speaker 3: just definitely not paradise.
- 9:11Speaker 2: No, And I think from a viewers standpoint, one of
- 9:14Speaker 2: the things, you know, as the show became more influencer
- 9:17Speaker 2: focused and as people came off The Bachelor and Bachelorette
- 9:20Speaker 2: and made their own name for themselves by doing whatever
- 9:23Speaker 2: they'd on social media, and as everybody comes back home
- 9:27Speaker 2: and they are beautiful people who you know, can take
- 9:30Speaker 2: a beautiful picture and mark it up. I think it
- 9:33Speaker 2: was the thing saving the show for those same people
- 9:36Speaker 2: to have to go to the beach and for the
- 9:38Speaker 2: viewer to go, yeah, you're still pretty, you still look great,
- 9:42Speaker 2: but you're also very human. And like Sam's story last
- 9:47Speaker 2: year or two years ago was so good, Like she
- 9:49Speaker 2: didn't poop for what ten days? That's amazing. That's so
- 9:52Speaker 2: good for the show.
- 9:54Speaker 3: That's what I was saying. And I think the reason
- 9:56Speaker 3: last year I feel like I got so much hate
- 9:57Speaker 3: was because it was in tandem with the goal in
- 10:00Speaker 3: the first Golden season, so people were like, this is
- 10:03Speaker 3: so stupid compared to the Golden I'm like, that's the point.
- 10:06Speaker 3: It's been stupid every single season. You guys are just
- 10:08Speaker 3: forgetting it. And now I'm like, it's kind of not
- 10:11Speaker 3: as stupid anymore. It's kind of just like I'm watching
- 10:14Speaker 3: couples lock in day one, and now I feel like
- 10:16Speaker 3: everyone kind of knows how to play the game. M
- 10:19Speaker 3: h I feel like that's what I'm watching, watching people
- 10:21Speaker 3: try to produce themselves. Yeah, some things did surprise me,
- 10:25Speaker 3: like the Jeremy and the SUSI. That was wild. I
- 10:28Speaker 3: loved that. But some of it is just like, Okay,
- 10:31Speaker 3: you guys know how to do this, and I'm watching
- 10:34Speaker 3: you play a game.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Yeah, let's dive in. Let's dive into this episode. We
- 10:39Speaker 2: have all the couples, all the people on the beach.
- 10:42Speaker 2: We had the same introu that we've had as the
- 10:44Speaker 2: last episode, with a lot of winking. It's cute, it's great,
- 10:48Speaker 2: it's fine, it's fun. Everything looks awesome. It's a cool
- 10:52Speaker 2: way to do it. I we kind of started this episode.
- 10:55Speaker 2: We started out slow with the water aerobics and oh
- 10:59Speaker 2: you missed.
- 10:59Speaker 3: The whole Jonathan and April in purry.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, go ahead and talk about that. I do think, actually,
- 11:06Speaker 2: you're right, that does play into kind of the big
- 11:09Speaker 2: Row ceremony moment. So I do think this is a
- 11:11Speaker 2: foreshadowing of what is to come.
- 11:14Speaker 3: I mean just kind of crazy, Like I think Paradise
- 11:18Speaker 3: is like even for me. I feel like I when
- 11:21Speaker 3: I was there, I had a lot of connections, Like whatever,
- 11:23Speaker 3: I wasn't the most solid. But I hate this constant
- 11:29Speaker 3: pushing of this golden and young narrative. I feel like
- 11:32Speaker 3: we're seeing the peak of it right now, Like I
- 11:34Speaker 3: feel like this is where it's coming from, and I'm
- 11:36Speaker 3: just not into it. I don't like it.
- 11:39Speaker 2: I don't like it. I mean I don't I've never
- 11:41Speaker 2: liked it. I won't say that I wouldn't be interested.
- 11:45Speaker 2: If April and Jonathan actually made out, I would be like, Wow,
- 11:48Speaker 2: that's crazy, not a great Like I don't want to.
- 11:52Speaker 3: See it, like we can make TV in so many
- 11:54Speaker 3: other ways.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Like I don't know it does. It does make me uncomfortable.
- 11:59Speaker 2: And one of the reasons is, and you've been around
- 12:01Speaker 2: them with me. We know so many of these Golden Ladies.
- 12:05Speaker 2: I don't know as much of the Golden Men because
- 12:08Speaker 2: there's season happened and we haven't done as many things together.
- 12:11Speaker 2: But I know so many of the Golden Ladies. Well.
- 12:13Speaker 2: I respect them so much, and they are such motherly figures,
- 12:17Speaker 2: like they they sent Winnie my daughter, like a huge
- 12:23Speaker 2: gift when she was born, you know that, and it's
- 12:26Speaker 2: an incredible gift that she still plays with so sweet,
- 12:29Speaker 2: like when we're together they're so like encouraging and such
- 12:33Speaker 2: good listeners. To see those same women on the beach
- 12:36Speaker 2: and to know just in my mind that they're going
- 12:40Speaker 2: to be pursued by somebody my age or younger makes
- 12:43Speaker 2: me uncomfortable in so many ways, and I don't think
- 12:48Speaker 2: viewers want to see it. Now Again, I'm a hypocrite
- 12:52Speaker 2: because I did say at some point during this episode,
- 12:55Speaker 2: I think April would be really down to make out Jonathan,
- 13:00Speaker 2: and it would honestly feel a little different for me
- 13:02Speaker 2: because I know April as well, and I know she'd
- 13:05Speaker 2: be really down to like probably make out with Jonathan literally,
- 13:08Speaker 2: so like that doesn't feel as weird to me, but
- 13:11Speaker 2: that's a one off scenario.
- 13:13Speaker 3: I love April having her like share a moment like
- 13:16Speaker 3: I do, but I also am like, Okay, if you
- 13:19Speaker 3: had rules reversed and this was kat Is Oh and
- 13:23Speaker 3: Captain whatever, this would be not okay. So like I'm
- 13:31Speaker 3: trying to put it in that perspective where, like I
- 13:34Speaker 3: do get age gap relationships, no problem with them, but like,
- 13:37Speaker 3: I don't want to view the Goldens in this light.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Like I thought they were there for advice and I
- 13:44Speaker 3: love that they're like being crazy and doing body shops
- 13:47Speaker 3: like I love that, but it's making me look at
- 13:49Speaker 3: them different, and I don't want to. I want to
- 13:52Speaker 3: keep this image like Santa Claus in my head of them,
- 13:55Speaker 3: like you're perfect.
- 13:56Speaker 2: You're like my wife. She watches The Golden Show because
- 14:00Speaker 2: there's a purity to it that she loves, and she
- 14:03Speaker 2: can like invest into these people and be like, I
- 14:05Speaker 2: just want to see you thrive and find your everlasting love.
- 14:10Speaker 2: But the switch would be like she doesn't I think
- 14:14Speaker 2: view them in the way of you just want to
- 14:16Speaker 2: hook up, like you just need to get laid again.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Interesting thing though, April, you could tell me if I'm wrong.
- 14:22Speaker 2: April's like strutting around into bikini. She's looking good, She's carrying.
- 14:26Speaker 3: It well, like yes, she has shook great.
- 14:29Speaker 2: She's showing it off like she is there too. She's
- 14:32Speaker 2: definitely the one with the youngest energy. Now we do
- 14:36Speaker 2: have other relationships, obviously you did the water aerobics were
- 14:41Speaker 2: just was just a good filler, nice and fun. We're
- 14:45Speaker 2: gonna kind of skip through this episode. You stop me,
- 14:47Speaker 2: Rachel wherever you think. Hey, there's a big moment. I'm
- 14:51Speaker 2: really bummed and I hate when the show does this
- 14:53Speaker 2: and I feel like they've done this more over the
- 14:55Speaker 2: last five years than ever before. I feel like they
- 14:59Speaker 2: haven't completed story I and so I invest into a
- 15:02Speaker 2: story and then there's like a twist that I don't
- 15:05Speaker 2: even see coming or understand that's a twist. It just
- 15:08Speaker 2: feels like I missed out on something. And I felt
- 15:10Speaker 2: like that with the RJ Natasha scenario. I know that
- 15:13Speaker 2: maybe she had mentioned hey, like he's funny or whatever,
- 15:16Speaker 2: and it didn't feel like the connection was as strong
- 15:18Speaker 2: as maybe he since it was, But in my mind,
- 15:21Speaker 2: watching this episode and watching everything so far, they had
- 15:26Speaker 2: something good enough to continue on with this potentially you know,
- 15:30Speaker 2: leave this beach together and so well spoiler alert, like
- 15:35Speaker 2: she doesn't give RJ the rose he goes home. What happened?
- 15:39Speaker 3: I know? I want to say. I do think Natasha
- 15:42Speaker 3: was very openly interested in Gary. And the thing about
- 15:46Speaker 3: the Goldens is I feel like they're not like I
- 15:50Speaker 3: need to get a rose. They're like, I'm interested in
- 15:52Speaker 3: this one person, like kind of tunnel vision, and they
- 15:55Speaker 3: don't really want to get him. Am I wrong? Like
- 15:58Speaker 3: I kind of felt that way watching Leslie, and I'm like,
- 16:02Speaker 3: I feel like, once they like something they kind of
- 16:04Speaker 3: just go all in, which is respectable. I feel like Natasha,
- 16:07Speaker 3: which is more gary. You No, I liked Margin more,
- 16:11Speaker 3: but there was more potential there.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it felt like there was actually something there.
- 16:15Speaker 2: I never saw the gary thing coming. You mentioned that
- 16:28Speaker 2: it feels like people nowadays are playing the game more
- 16:31Speaker 2: than they used to it. It sounds like what you're
- 16:34Speaker 2: saying too, is the Goldens just haven't played the game,
- 16:37Speaker 2: Like they don't know how to play the game, so
- 16:38Speaker 2: they don't know to stay open and to kind of
- 16:40Speaker 2: date around.
- 16:42Speaker 3: It could also be because they know what they want. Yeah,
- 16:45Speaker 3: Like maybe it's like it could be either, but yeah,
- 16:47Speaker 3: we're watching game players versus like newbies, Like we've never
- 16:52Speaker 3: seen anything like that before.
- 16:54Speaker 2: It's like the old school paradise back in the day
- 16:57Speaker 2: where it just started and you had that's where you
- 17:00Speaker 2: had a lot of the like like weddings coming from
- 17:03Speaker 2: because people would invest right away. And that was one
- 17:06Speaker 2: of the things the show struggled with. It got boring
- 17:08Speaker 2: because all these couples would couple up and they'd be like, no,
- 17:11Speaker 2: you and I to the end and it was beautiful,
- 17:15Speaker 2: but it was kind of like the middle of the
- 17:17Speaker 2: season got so boring because everybody was just like enjoying
- 17:20Speaker 2: each other's company on you know, the beach, right, and
- 17:24Speaker 2: it seems like the stage the Goldens are in. Well
- 17:28Speaker 2: you mentioned this, you know Gary showing up. Gary Levinson
- 17:31Speaker 2: shows up. He's a big personality. He's full of a
- 17:34Speaker 2: ton of joy. He's from Jones season obviously of the
- 17:38Speaker 2: Golden Bachelorette. You know, those big personalities will always stand
- 17:43Speaker 2: out on the beach. He seems in very he comes
- 17:46Speaker 2: in very confident. I did not see the Leslie relationship happening.
- 17:51Speaker 3: I didn't either. I was gonna say that, I wrote,
- 17:54Speaker 3: no chemistry. She likes to dance. Leslie could love anyone
- 17:58Speaker 3: when she's dancing like that. I got.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Yeah, it just felt like it missed it the whole time. Now,
- 18:05Speaker 2: the show did a good job, like with the rain
- 18:08Speaker 2: and the dancing and the you know dips and the toils.
- 18:11Speaker 2: It made it look beautiful, but it just never felt
- 18:14Speaker 2: like the whole time I watched, and I said, is this,
- 18:16Speaker 2: it feels like I'm not watching what they're trying to
- 18:18Speaker 2: communicate to me. It feels like it misses it. Even
- 18:24Speaker 2: you know they like usually you can tell they're in
- 18:26Speaker 2: the conversation. The dancing part like it is what it is,
- 18:29Speaker 2: but during the conversation you can usually tell if there's
- 18:31Speaker 2: chemistry or not. And I watched this and it did.
- 18:35Speaker 2: It felt like two people on a first day that
- 18:38Speaker 2: would leave being like, hey, I think you're great.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Yeah, like two friends set them up. They're both hopeless romantics.
- 18:44Speaker 3: I feel like they're similar in some sense, but I,
- 18:46Speaker 3: just like you said, I did not get any sort
- 18:50Speaker 3: of chemistry with them.
- 18:51Speaker 2: I want to keep on Gary for a second, Rachel.
- 18:54Speaker 2: You know, he's a huge personality. I think Bachelor Nation
- 18:58Speaker 2: has always known him as this bubbly figure, and I
- 19:00Speaker 2: think he is. I'm not gonna say I don't know him.
- 19:02Speaker 2: I'm assuming he is. We saw Gary after the rose ceremony,
- 19:07Speaker 2: after Natasha gave him the rose. We saw this, I
- 19:11Speaker 2: would say, an other side of him, not the bubbly, welcoming,
- 19:14Speaker 2: like come give me a hug, good morning type of person.
- 19:17Speaker 2: He is either really into Leslie and really nervous about
- 19:22Speaker 2: ruining whatever is happening there, or he is really not
- 19:26Speaker 2: into Natasha and giving hold her the cold shoulder. So
- 19:29Speaker 2: I say all this for you to comment on it,
- 19:31Speaker 2: and also for me to ask the question because you've
- 19:33Speaker 2: been to Paradise. I haven't. Why would he say yes
- 19:36Speaker 2: to her rose if he wasn't at all into it?
- 19:40Speaker 3: And it's so hard to watch them again, like you said,
- 19:43Speaker 3: because they are not playing a game. And even when
- 19:45Speaker 3: he accepted Natasha's rose, he was like dancing up there,
- 19:49Speaker 3: and like you said, the first thing I thought was, Okay,
- 19:51Speaker 3: well we missed something, like they're clearly getting on so
- 19:54Speaker 3: much better if like Leslie was like, okay, well we
- 19:57Speaker 3: had the date, so it's the right thing to do
- 19:58Speaker 3: to give him the rose, like she's thinking in that way.
- 20:01Speaker 3: But the morning after Natasha comes up, she's like, oh,
- 20:04Speaker 3: you guys had like a chance to talk. And he
- 20:07Speaker 3: definitely was disappointed that he was matched with Natasha, and
- 20:11Speaker 3: you could see it. And I think Leslie was disappointed
- 20:15Speaker 3: as well with her day. So I'll be interested to
- 20:16Speaker 3: see what happens with them.
- 20:18Speaker 2: It seems like I expected Gary to either decline the
- 20:23Speaker 2: rose and hope that Leslie gave it to him, or
- 20:27Speaker 2: if he did accept the rose the next morning to
- 20:28Speaker 2: be very brutally honest with Natasha and say, hey, I
- 20:33Speaker 2: know last night I played out the way it did
- 20:34Speaker 2: I just want to be honest with you. We don't
- 20:37Speaker 2: have something here. I'm very interested in Leslie and kind
- 20:39Speaker 2: of free her up to not stand there and do
- 20:43Speaker 2: the thing that I've been stuck doing so many times,
- 20:46Speaker 2: which is, you know, you stand by their side and
- 20:48Speaker 2: be like, uh so what are you having for breakfast?
- 20:52Speaker 2: What are you? What are you into? And then ignoring
- 20:55Speaker 2: you and you feeling about as you know, an inch
- 20:57Speaker 2: big that's such a terrible feeling.
- 21:00Speaker 3: I think we could say the same thing for Leslie though,
- 21:03Speaker 3: because Kim wrote that amazing like no or the poem.
- 21:07Speaker 3: The ending was weird because he said I think you're
- 21:09Speaker 3: my number one until something changes, which was not romantic.
- 21:13Speaker 3: But she still sat there and was like, oh thank you,
- 21:15Speaker 3: Like why didn't she say something and kind of cut
- 21:19Speaker 3: it off. So I think it'll be definitely interesting because
- 21:22Speaker 3: we're watching definitely two people who I don't see have
- 21:27Speaker 3: chemistry find their way back to each other. Maybe I
- 21:30Speaker 3: don't know.
- 21:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it'll be interesting. It's the storyline to follow, other
- 21:34Speaker 2: storylines to follow. Some quick hits here, Kathy's you know
- 21:38Speaker 2: body shot, big deal. Love Kathy. She's amazing, She's amazing,
- 21:42Speaker 2: and she's so good on TV. Mm hmm, definitely didn't
- 21:46Speaker 2: know how to do a body shot.
- 21:48Speaker 3: I loved the way she did it, and I love
- 21:50Speaker 3: the way she got like right on top of him
- 21:52Speaker 3: and everyone else there being like, oh, the young people
- 21:55Speaker 3: would never do that because they're so cautious of like image,
- 21:58Speaker 3: and but they like. I love Kathy. She's bringing something
- 22:02Speaker 3: to the beach that I will be so disappointed if
- 22:05Speaker 3: we do not get her for the whole season.
- 22:07Speaker 2: I'm with you, Kathy would be the one to get
- 22:09Speaker 2: me into trouble if I was on the beach with her,
- 22:11Speaker 2: Like she would be the one to be like, hey, Ben,
- 22:13Speaker 2: let's go rip shot to the bar, even though she
- 22:15Speaker 2: supposedly has never taken a shot in her life.
- 22:18Speaker 3: I looks like that one pretty easy.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Yeah. I have a hard time believing that she has
- 22:24Speaker 2: not tipped them back her with.
- 22:26Speaker 3: This champagne in the hot up like. I love her.
- 22:30Speaker 3: I love her so much.
- 22:31Speaker 2: She's great in g The only thing that could have
- 22:33Speaker 2: made it better was Susan being there alongside of her,
- 22:36Speaker 2: because the two of them are absolute clown show and
- 22:40Speaker 2: the sweetest, most carrying, great women. And I'm so glad
- 22:44Speaker 2: so far that we have not seen Kathy with a
- 22:47Speaker 2: younger man, because that would have broke my heart in
- 22:49Speaker 2: so many ways.
- 22:50Speaker 3: I just don't think she would. No, I think I
- 22:53Speaker 3: really don't.
- 22:54Speaker 2: No, she's too she she still sees her. I mean
- 22:57Speaker 2: she is, she's a mom, she has kids, our age
- 23:01Speaker 2: like she just could never go there. We've talked about
- 23:05Speaker 2: the Leslie and Gary day, We've talked about Natasha and Gary.
- 23:08Speaker 2: I think it's time, if you're okay with it, Rachel,
- 23:11Speaker 2: to dig into what I find to be the most
- 23:15Speaker 2: non shocking I guess part of the show, which is
- 23:20Speaker 2: this Cat and Dale blow up.
- 23:22Speaker 3: I wanted to talk to you about that.
- 23:24Speaker 2: It's not shocking to me. I don't know where we
- 23:28Speaker 2: have forgotten things along the way. I don't know where
- 23:33Speaker 2: we thought things would be different now than it was.
- 23:37Speaker 2: But there's so many parts of this that I had
- 23:40Speaker 2: to write in my notes. Don't be too judgmental, because
- 23:46Speaker 2: there's so many elements to this dynamic that just makes
- 23:50Speaker 2: me cringe and go, what are you thinking?
- 23:53Speaker 3: Okay, I'm interested. I feel like we might have different
- 23:56Speaker 3: opinions on this.
- 23:57Speaker 2: Okay one, I'm with Kat. This dead thing, this debbit
- 24:02Speaker 2: thing is very confusing. It's it's very odd to me.
- 24:05Speaker 3: Ben, I had to chat GBT debtit. I had to
- 24:10Speaker 3: look it up.
- 24:10Speaker 2: My question to you, because I'm typically less likely to
- 24:14Speaker 2: be in the know on cool new things happening in
- 24:17Speaker 2: this world. I've always been slow when it happens with that,
- 24:21Speaker 2: and so this debit, I'd never heard of it. I'd
- 24:23Speaker 2: never like thought of it. I think I knew what
- 24:26Speaker 2: it means, meaning like it's over, move on. However, if
- 24:33Speaker 2: that's is that what it means, let me be clear.
- 24:35Speaker 3: I actually I guess it kind of means like we
- 24:39Speaker 3: took care of that, like it's over. It's like early
- 24:41Speaker 3: two thousands slang is what it says, Like when has
- 24:45Speaker 3: anyone ever used that? And so many times, not only
- 24:50Speaker 3: with Kat he did it in the bedroom, he did
- 24:52Speaker 3: it in his interview. Like I mean, I didn't get
- 24:56Speaker 3: to see enough of Dale and clar season obviously because
- 24:58Speaker 3: he was gone in a day. But now I'm seeing
- 25:01Speaker 3: del like what is wrong with you?
- 25:03Speaker 2: Kind of one hundred percent? Well that was my point
- 25:06Speaker 2: it Okay, so let's sit on the debt it because
- 25:10Speaker 2: he does kiss somebody else, I don't even have a
- 25:13Speaker 2: problem with that. It's paradise. It happens, it's part of it.
- 25:17Speaker 2: You do what you gotta do.
- 25:19Speaker 3: I think they should kiss more people with you.
- 25:22Speaker 2: Stay open, go kiss, go have fun, see what fits,
- 25:25Speaker 2: see what doesn't. And then at some point in the
- 25:27Speaker 2: season it feels like a natch. Always a natural transition
- 25:30Speaker 2: to be like, hey, you know what, I don't want
- 25:32Speaker 2: us to leave alone. I want you to be here
- 25:35Speaker 2: with me. But at the start, I'm always confused at
- 25:39Speaker 2: the relationships that are like, nope, you and I only.
- 25:43Speaker 2: I think it's very fair. However, by saying that, I
- 25:47Speaker 2: also will say that I think both sides need to
- 25:50Speaker 2: be very open and honest about that. That they're kissing
- 25:54Speaker 2: other people, that they're dating other people, that they're still
- 25:56Speaker 2: into each other. It's a very weird dynamic. It felt
- 25:59Speaker 2: like to me the course of this argument that Dale
- 26:03Speaker 2: was wanting to end it or thought they had ended
- 26:06Speaker 2: it without actually asking if the other person involved was
- 26:10Speaker 2: okay ending this conversation and moving forward. It felt like
- 26:14Speaker 2: he was almost forcing it, being like, hey, it happened,
- 26:17Speaker 2: it's over. You gotta be okay with this. Move on.
- 26:20Speaker 2: When Cat's sitting there, and I will say my criticism
- 26:23Speaker 2: the Cat is she gets very upset very quickly, and
- 26:27Speaker 2: she doesn't clearly communicate that, Hey, I don't want to
- 26:30Speaker 2: move on from this because I am hurt by this.
- 26:33Speaker 2: I thought we had something more than special and I'm hurt.
- 26:37Speaker 2: So she didn't. I won't say she did that perfectly,
- 26:41Speaker 2: but it felt I don't want to use the word
- 26:44Speaker 2: manipulative because I know that, but I've already used it.
- 26:47Speaker 2: It felt like a forced closure to a scenario that
- 26:53Speaker 2: the other person had not signed off on closing.
- 26:56Speaker 3: I agree, And to be fair, I was on Bachelor
- 27:01Speaker 3: Comparadise with Kat the way Catherine Izzo would blow up
- 27:06Speaker 3: on a drop of a dime. I'm seeing such a
- 27:09Speaker 3: mature cat. I'm so proud of her. I messaged her.
- 27:11Speaker 3: I was like, I just watched the episode and I
- 27:14Speaker 3: was I didn't know who I was watching. She was
- 27:16Speaker 3: like so clearly telling him that she's upset not because
- 27:19Speaker 3: of the kiss, but because he wasn't honest and she
- 27:22Speaker 3: wanted this open communication. And I think he was upset
- 27:26Speaker 3: I guess because of the timing, Like they kept arguing
- 27:29Speaker 3: about the timing and that in his world they keep
- 27:33Speaker 3: things so close and they don't say their relationship problems
- 27:37Speaker 3: and like First of all, Dale, you lied on camera
- 27:40Speaker 3: because you said you guys kissed once. Lie, she's gonna
- 27:44Speaker 3: see this back, Like do you not think there are
- 27:46Speaker 3: cameras here? And second, it was kind of giving, like
- 27:49Speaker 3: you said, not manipulation, but I think when people tell
- 27:54Speaker 3: their partner we need to keep this between us. We're
- 27:58Speaker 3: not supposed to be talking about this. It's given, like
- 28:00Speaker 3: you know you're wrong, and you just don't want her
- 28:02Speaker 3: to go ask other people because they'll tell her you're wrong,
- 28:06Speaker 3: Like he wants to kind of just never have this
- 28:08Speaker 3: discussion again.
- 28:09Speaker 2: It's not fair to cat And that's why I was
- 28:13Speaker 2: hesit to use the word manipulation. I don't exactly know
- 28:16Speaker 2: what it was more than just it felt like he
- 28:18Speaker 2: tried to control the narrative that at this point should
- 28:23Speaker 2: not have been controlled. It didn't need to be. It
- 28:25Speaker 2: didn't need to be an issue. I think if the
- 28:27Speaker 2: two of him sat there and said, hey, I'm hurt
- 28:29Speaker 2: by this, and he said, I did this, but I'm
- 28:33Speaker 2: still very interested in you, and what that kiss led
- 28:36Speaker 2: me to was to know that I still want to
- 28:38Speaker 2: come back to you, I think this gets a lot easier.
- 28:43Speaker 3: He could have just been like, listen, it was day two, Like,
- 28:46Speaker 3: I'm sure if someone else wrote your name down that
- 28:48Speaker 3: you would have also done it. If not, that's okay.
- 28:51Speaker 3: But I chose you. This is what I did, like
- 28:55Speaker 3: I'm only interested in you. And then maybe you have
- 28:57Speaker 3: the conversation of we're keeping this closed now, not going
- 29:00Speaker 3: to see other people. It's a perfect time for it.
- 29:03Speaker 3: But like you said, he got angry. He told the
- 29:07Speaker 3: boys about it. He got mad at her because of
- 29:09Speaker 3: the timing of it, and then it carried on into
- 29:13Speaker 3: the next day and that night after the.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Ropes, it felt like he was trying to say the
- 29:17Speaker 2: same thing. If he came up with a better argument,
- 29:19Speaker 2: I think I get more on his side, But felt
- 29:22Speaker 2: like he was saying the same thing the whole time.
- 29:23Speaker 2: It felt like, even when he was talking to Gary
- 29:26Speaker 2: at the bar, he was doing this thing where it's
- 29:28Speaker 2: like and we just come from different places, and I'm
- 29:32Speaker 2: wanting to ask him, or I wish Gary would have
- 29:34Speaker 2: asked him, what do you exactly mean by that? Because
- 29:37Speaker 2: coming from different places doesn't change the fact that somebody
- 29:41Speaker 2: you care about his hurt. When somebody care about his hurt,
- 29:44Speaker 2: if you care about them, you spend a little more
- 29:47Speaker 2: time listening and trying to figure that out and coming
- 29:50Speaker 2: up with some solution or at least walking through it.
- 29:53Speaker 3: Or an apology or ownership to some degree, he took.
- 29:57Speaker 2: None, none, none.
- 30:00Speaker 3: I think yeah, like he wasn't even meaning like. I
- 30:04Speaker 3: think we come from different backgrounds. I think he kept
- 30:07Speaker 3: using that word. What I think he meant is, in
- 30:09Speaker 3: my family, we don't talk about our relationship problems with
- 30:13Speaker 3: other people. And you did this in front of a camera,
- 30:18Speaker 3: and you're doing this before a Rose ceremony. And I
- 30:20Speaker 3: think that's what he was saying. That's what I got,
- 30:22Speaker 3: and that's what I wrote down.
- 30:24Speaker 2: I'm confused. I will I will say this whole thing
- 30:27Speaker 2: that mostly Dale's reaction. Now, I do think Kat, from
- 30:32Speaker 2: your time on Paradise to now, like just there's a
- 30:35Speaker 2: big difference in how the response looks. And I will
- 30:39Speaker 2: say also, she didn't perfectly communicate that she was hurt
- 30:43Speaker 2: and say how she was hurt. But Dale's response to
- 30:49Speaker 2: her is at this point, and I think we'll get
- 30:52Speaker 2: more clarity as the season goes on. At this point,
- 30:55Speaker 2: it's nothing short of confusing to me. And also it
- 31:00Speaker 2: feels like he's protecting something like defending himself. In a
- 31:05Speaker 2: way that doesn't it doesn't fit. It doesn't feel like
- 31:09Speaker 2: he's properly or intelligently defending himself so that she has clarity.
- 31:15Speaker 2: It just feels like he's like, no, stop talking about it,
- 31:18Speaker 2: you're hurt, it's over. We'll all move on.
- 31:20Speaker 3: But then she tried to move on, like right after rose,
- 31:23Speaker 3: she was like he haha, he was like no, no,
- 31:26Speaker 3: like he got mad about it again. Like we're missing
- 31:29Speaker 3: something with Dale. He's not being honest to the camera
- 31:32Speaker 3: with how he feels. And I think that's why interviews
- 31:34Speaker 3: are so important, like to be honest if you don't
- 31:37Speaker 3: want to be honest with Kat. But like now we're
- 31:38Speaker 3: all confused.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Like you said, we haven't seen obviously, the episode just
- 31:43Speaker 2: came out. It's always interesting to see the viewer's response.
- 31:48Speaker 2: I'm assuming the viewer's response is going to be very
- 31:50Speaker 2: much in kind of feeling like we're feeling where it's Hey,
- 31:54Speaker 2: this felt unhealthy, it felt weird. It didn't feel like
- 31:57Speaker 2: the start of a good relationship. Which we'll skip forward,
- 32:01Speaker 2: like we have all episode here. Why would she give
- 32:04Speaker 2: him the rose? And then that's a part that confuses me.
- 32:09Speaker 3: I think Kat has grown so much like truly, but
- 32:12Speaker 3: I think at the end of the day, like Dale
- 32:15Speaker 3: is probably the only one that she really is like
- 32:17Speaker 3: sexually attracted to and interested in, and she in her mind,
- 32:22Speaker 3: like I think, kind of likes a little bit of
- 32:25Speaker 3: like the drama and toxicity, like not to a full extent,
- 32:28Speaker 3: but I think there are some couples that kind of
- 32:31Speaker 3: like that a little bit, and I think Kat could
- 32:34Speaker 3: be one. Not trying to speak for her, but I
- 32:37Speaker 3: know couples that love to fight and then get like
- 32:39Speaker 3: be fine.
- 32:40Speaker 2: After yeah, fight and then because.
- 32:43Speaker 3: Yeah, literally, I think Kat has a little bit of
- 32:46Speaker 3: that vibe.
- 32:47Speaker 2: Yeah that makes sense, I mean it does. It, Just
- 32:50Speaker 2: it's it's unfamiliar to me, Like, yeah, you know, I
- 32:55Speaker 2: walk a very safe line. I'm like, I don't want
- 32:57Speaker 2: to fight and I don't want to have to figure
- 33:00Speaker 2: out how to make up if we do fight. So
- 33:03Speaker 2: I watched this and I feel uncomfortable. And that's why
- 33:05Speaker 2: I had a lot of shock, honestly, when she gave
- 33:08Speaker 2: him the rose. It also feels like a decision now
- 33:12Speaker 2: watching the previews for future episodes that she will I
- 33:15Speaker 2: don't regret, but that probably wasn't a great decision. It's
- 33:18Speaker 2: just going to cause more drama and turmoil in her life.
- 33:25Speaker 2: A couple couples that have no drama in turmoil. Alex
- 33:28Speaker 2: and Andrews seem to be clicking around really good.
- 33:31Speaker 3: I love them. I love Andrew personally. I love Alex.
- 33:34Speaker 3: I think she's so different than like a lot of
- 33:37Speaker 3: people we see on reality TV. She's very refreshing. I
- 33:41Speaker 3: see this as a couple.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Now. I just want to bring something up. Okay, you
- 33:55Speaker 2: can disagree with me, please, do you feel it. I
- 33:58Speaker 2: think she's a lot more in him than he is
- 34:00Speaker 2: into her.
- 34:01Speaker 3: I think Andrew is very nonchalot like I've seen him
- 34:05Speaker 3: like be, not like personally, but like I know him,
- 34:08Speaker 3: I feel like and I think when he's into people,
- 34:10Speaker 3: he's not very like, I don't know, super forward. I
- 34:16Speaker 3: feel like he likes to like hang back a little.
- 34:18Speaker 3: I think he's also a little bit burned from his
- 34:21Speaker 3: time with Teddy in Paradise, and I think he's trying
- 34:24Speaker 3: to like not seem all into soon because he did
- 34:27Speaker 3: get that edit of like he couldn't get over Teddy
- 34:30Speaker 3: and they met so fast. So I think he also
- 34:33Speaker 3: has been here enough where he knows what he's doing
- 34:35Speaker 3: and thinking about that and thinking about things.
- 34:38Speaker 2: He's more hesitant.
- 34:40Speaker 3: Yeah, justin as well. I think you see with like
- 34:42Speaker 3: these seasoned you know, Paradise people, like they're kind of
- 34:46Speaker 3: a little bit more hesitant to like make a big move.
- 34:51Speaker 2: That's that's fair, and that that would answer a lot
- 34:55Speaker 2: of my questions. I just see her kind of like
- 34:58Speaker 2: saying things like I go to bed at nights, I
- 35:00Speaker 2: see you next day. He goes, that's sweet, and I'm like, dude,
- 35:03Speaker 2: like it's a big comment.
- 35:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I think he's just playing it a little sake.
- 35:08Speaker 3: I do think he'sn't her, but we will see.
- 35:11Speaker 2: I hope he is. I love the couple if it works. Yes,
- 35:15Speaker 2: Jeremy and Bailey, we barely see them.
- 35:17Speaker 3: I don't like I love her not any fact that
- 35:22Speaker 3: he still hasn't told her what he did that is
- 35:24Speaker 3: grounds for absolutely never talking to him again. And she's
- 35:30Speaker 3: watching this now for the first time.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Do you think she will ever know until she watched
- 35:34Speaker 2: it back.
- 35:35Speaker 3: I don't know. And I'm just a little bit also
- 35:39Speaker 3: upset with Alex because isn't that your best friend? Like
- 35:42Speaker 3: I would be sprinting to Joe's room to tell her
- 35:45Speaker 3: like that is an insane thing to know and not
- 35:50Speaker 3: tell her.
- 35:51Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right. We don't see a lot of in
- 35:53Speaker 2: this episode. We do see them swapping gum.
- 35:57Speaker 3: In sunburn and just talking.
- 35:59Speaker 2: No, the iHeart team really wants us to talk about
- 36:03Speaker 2: the idea of them swapping gum, sharing gum, making out
- 36:05Speaker 2: gum goes another person's mouth. I have never experienced that.
- 36:10Speaker 2: It's honestly something I would not do with my wife.
- 36:14Speaker 2: If I mean, if her gum fell in my mouth,
- 36:16Speaker 2: I'd be like, hey, this is yours, or I'm throwing
- 36:18Speaker 2: it away. It's not something I particularly am going to enjoy.
- 36:22Speaker 2: It's not something I'm going to be cool about, or
- 36:24Speaker 2: would I give it back to them or share it
- 36:26Speaker 2: with them any longer? My wife and I would not
- 36:30Speaker 2: be That's just gum is a bacteria ridden substance that
- 36:35Speaker 2: is meant to do clean up whatever it is that's
- 36:38Speaker 2: going on in your funky mouth at that time, truly,
- 36:41Speaker 2: And the.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Way they passed it like it wasn't even like a
- 36:44Speaker 3: They were like mouth to mouth. And then she goes,
- 36:48Speaker 3: there's no flavor to it, So you're just chewing this
- 36:51Speaker 3: piece of gum that has all the food he just
- 36:53Speaker 3: ate stuck to it with no flavor and then passed
- 36:58Speaker 3: it back.
- 36:59Speaker 2: You're not into it either, No, I think.
- 37:01Speaker 3: It's absolutely repulsive. And I also I'm just so mad
- 37:03Speaker 3: at him that anything he does right now is making
- 37:05Speaker 3: me pissed.
- 37:05Speaker 2: Oh so he's like, he's your villain number one right now?
- 37:08Speaker 3: Ye us? Are you the way he just did her
- 37:12Speaker 3: so dirty? Like you went on a date? You almost
- 37:15Speaker 3: gave your ross, Susie. She goes on a date and
- 37:17Speaker 3: you have when he's talking to Shabby in the corner
- 37:20Speaker 3: call her up right now, I was like, you're nuts,
- 37:24Speaker 3: you're crazy? Shoot or shoot? Come on. I'm sorry. I
- 37:28Speaker 3: know we haven't talked about last episode together, but I'm just.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Like, no, please keep going.
- 37:32Speaker 3: This is good over it? Like I'm sorry, Jeremy, Like
- 37:35Speaker 3: I met him once, like seem like a good guy,
- 37:37Speaker 3: but that was just crazy. And then to be cuddling
- 37:40Speaker 3: with her on the couch sleeping, passing gumback like no,
- 37:45Speaker 3: and then you still haven't told her?
- 37:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, so let's play this out, listeners. I
- 37:50Speaker 2: think would appreciate this. He never tells her. Let's just
- 37:55Speaker 2: let's just play it out that she doesn't ever know
- 37:57Speaker 2: that he said the things he did. And then also
- 37:59Speaker 2: went after easy the way he did. She they're still together,
- 38:03Speaker 2: let's say at the end, happily they better not be.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Do you get upset?
- 38:08Speaker 3: Like I love her, she's an angel baby, like she's
- 38:11Speaker 3: like the queen of the beach, like all the boys
- 38:13Speaker 3: love her, Like I hate that for her, Like I
- 38:17Speaker 3: don't know, I just think it's so disrespectful.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I it's weird too, because it's not. I mean,
- 38:24Speaker 2: I think you come at it from this place of
- 38:26Speaker 2: protection because you love some of these women, you know
- 38:28Speaker 2: some of them, You care about him, You've been there.
- 38:32Speaker 2: The show isn't making it as big of a storyline
- 38:35Speaker 2: as I think they could, meaning it doesn't feel like
- 38:40Speaker 2: they're lighting the switch to blow this thing up, like
- 38:43Speaker 2: they're kind of just secretly being like, yeah, Jeremy did
- 38:45Speaker 2: what he did, and I do feel like it's a
- 38:48Speaker 2: big deal at least, as we said at the beginning,
- 38:50Speaker 2: if he wanted to date other people, fine, but I
- 38:54Speaker 2: think Paradise has always been best served when communication is
- 38:58Speaker 2: honest and open, and he should we should hear him
- 39:02Speaker 2: have to tell Bailey, I'm still into you, and Susie's
- 39:05Speaker 2: out of my mind and I don't want to pursue
- 39:09Speaker 2: her any longer, or we need him to tell her. Hey,
- 39:12Speaker 2: I haven't stopped talking about thinking about Susie since the
- 39:14Speaker 2: moment she left, and you and I are not going
- 39:16Speaker 2: to make it, but we should see that conversation have
- 39:18Speaker 2: to happen.
- 39:18Speaker 3: I think he said it at the Rose ceremony. I
- 39:21Speaker 3: think to Jonathan, he goes, I'm second guessing my decision. Now.
- 39:24Speaker 3: I hope that Susie stays and takes this rose. And
- 39:28Speaker 3: and on top of like you calling her right after that,
- 39:32Speaker 3: like this is a huge story, and you do make
- 39:35Speaker 3: a good point. The fact that they are not blowing
- 39:37Speaker 3: it up does make me maybe think that they're together,
- 39:41Speaker 3: because when they protect a couple, lets together.
- 39:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that's and so the great part will
- 39:48Speaker 2: be the after show if we have one.
- 39:50Speaker 3: I know, because I genuinely don't know. I only know
- 39:52Speaker 3: Jill's like little worlds like that. So I hope they
- 39:57Speaker 3: have a reaion. I'll be front row.
- 39:59Speaker 2: Let's talk about your girl, Jill. Let's give her a moment. Ear. Obviously,
- 40:02Speaker 2: Jill and Ashley are good friends. You love Jill, and uh,
- 40:08Speaker 2: Jill is one of those people that I think if
- 40:11Speaker 2: I was on the beach with her, she would be
- 40:13Speaker 2: like a safe, fun just like one of those people
- 40:16Speaker 2: that light up a room and bring positive moments to
- 40:21Speaker 2: any situation she's in. I want her so badly to
- 40:24Speaker 2: find love on this beach. It does. It feels like
- 40:28Speaker 2: she gets pushed aside. I don't know why. It feels
- 40:32Speaker 2: like these guys don't. I've done some live events with Jill.
- 40:37Speaker 2: She's gorgeous, she's funny, she's witty, she's smart, smart, she's engaging.
- 40:43Speaker 2: I don't get why some one of these guys is like,
- 40:45Speaker 2: that's my girl, Like that's it.
- 40:47Speaker 3: Genuinely. It's funny because watching back I told her, I'm like,
- 40:50Speaker 3: I feel like she would have hit it off with
- 40:51Speaker 3: Kyle from the very beginning of the season, the one
- 40:55Speaker 3: who everyone was like, who is Kyle. I'm like, he
- 40:57Speaker 3: just seems so like smart and mature and to earth,
- 41:01Speaker 3: and I feel like Jill needs like an intellectual guy.
- 41:04Speaker 3: That's funny, And I think a lot of these guys
- 41:07Speaker 3: on the beach, I would say Justin would have that too,
- 41:10Speaker 3: but they're also such good friends. Jill knows two guys
- 41:13Speaker 3: that are on the beach currently. Yeah, I don't think
- 41:16Speaker 3: they gave them a recipe for success with only having
- 41:19Speaker 3: six couples.
- 41:20Speaker 2: It's too little, too little, But it's still even with that.
- 41:24Speaker 2: I mean, I'm with you, I even with that. When
- 41:27Speaker 2: Ashley told me that Jill was coming back to Paradise,
- 41:30Speaker 2: my first thought was, goodness, I hope this one works well.
- 41:33Speaker 3: I thought she was engaged when she was there. I'm like, oh,
- 41:35Speaker 3: she's engaged. I had a feeling. I had a feeling.
- 41:39Speaker 2: I hate it. I hate it. But her story isn't finished.
- 41:43Speaker 3: No, but she's with Sean. Yeah, so I already know her,
- 41:46Speaker 3: like I without knowing. If I watch that happen, I'd
- 41:49Speaker 3: be like, all right, So she's in a dark place
- 41:51Speaker 3: right now. Love you Sean. He knows I love him.
- 41:54Speaker 3: But she even took her rose and said, I love
- 41:58Speaker 3: the opportunity to be here next week.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Oh yeah, brutal.
- 42:02Speaker 3: You're pissing off.
- 42:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that's brutal. And so we'll follow her along. We're
- 42:07Speaker 2: gonna pause here on the breakdown of the show. We
- 42:09Speaker 2: still have a few things to get to. The rose ceremony.
- 42:12Speaker 2: Jonathan's moment trying to figure out if he's gonna stick
- 42:16Speaker 2: around or not. Our girl, Hannah Brown, she's a Bachelorette,
- 42:21Speaker 2: just like you were. She was announced to be in Paradise,
- 42:24Speaker 2: she was given a title. Really before this whole competition
- 42:29Speaker 2: thing starts with this season, I thought we'd see a
- 42:32Speaker 2: lot of her. It to me, it feels like they
- 42:35Speaker 2: hired her on for a position that they don't know
- 42:38Speaker 2: what she was gonna do, and they're trying to throw
- 42:40Speaker 2: her into most random scenarios and it just doesn't fit.
- 42:44Speaker 2: It's weird to see Hannah Brown in the background of Paradise,
- 42:48Speaker 2: passing out champagne and making like doing some like random interview.
- 42:55Speaker 3: We're not even seeing interviews of her. I'm seeing so
- 42:57Speaker 3: much of Wells, which I love. While was his interviews
- 42:59Speaker 3: are incredible, Like I think he's such a crucial part
- 43:02Speaker 3: of Paradise. But Hannah is known for being outspoken and
- 43:07Speaker 3: funny and crazy, and we're getting none of that, like
- 43:11Speaker 3: not even an interview clip, not even her going up
- 43:13Speaker 3: and like laughing with the girls. Like I feel like
- 43:16Speaker 3: they're not utilizing her at all. She's so funny.
- 43:20Speaker 2: It's it's very odd to me. It's felt odd when
- 43:24Speaker 2: they announced it, because I mean, I love Wells, I
- 43:27Speaker 2: love Hannah. I think she's great, But I was like, hey,
- 43:31Speaker 2: Wells is enough here? Like this beach doesn't have room,
- 43:34Speaker 2: there's only six couples for everybody. What is Hannah going
- 43:37Speaker 2: to be doing? And the show, you know, had some
- 43:40Speaker 2: fancy title like Champagne Hostess or whatever it was, or
- 43:43Speaker 2: Bubbly Hostess, And then we watched this season and my
- 43:46Speaker 2: thought is why is she there? And that's not because
- 43:50Speaker 2: it's the diss on Hannah, it's just what is she
- 43:52Speaker 2: doing there?
- 43:53Speaker 3: Is? Yeah, I think there could have been like so
- 43:56Speaker 3: much utilized because I think we needed some feminine energy.
- 43:59Speaker 3: We have Jess, we have Wells. Wells gives the best advice,
- 44:02Speaker 3: but I think Hannah in a girl chat, Hannah leading
- 44:05Speaker 3: dates or or meeting them on dates, I think there
- 44:07Speaker 3: could have been so much more. And she's so funny
- 44:10Speaker 3: and chaotic. Yeah, they're definitely just I think fumbling with
- 44:15Speaker 3: Hannah a little bit. For sure.
- 44:16Speaker 2: We should see Hannah on every day. We should see
- 44:18Speaker 2: her in every day, at least stopping by the table
- 44:21Speaker 2: and you know, doing the random funny here's your two champagnes.
- 44:25Speaker 2: How are you guys doing right? Saying something ridiculous and leaving.
- 44:29Speaker 2: We should at least see that we're getting none of it.
- 44:33Speaker 2: It's very odd.
- 44:34Speaker 3: I think the audience sees it as well. I've seen
- 44:36Speaker 3: a couple tiktoks about it, and like everyone was so
- 44:39Speaker 3: excited and now it's like, I want to see my girl,
- 44:42Speaker 3: and I see her teaching Leslie how to use a megaphone.
- 44:46Speaker 3: Like that's all I saw. I think, yeah, passing out
- 44:49Speaker 3: maybe one champagne so sad, you know, I want to
- 44:52Speaker 3: see more, all right?
- 44:53Speaker 2: And closing here, Rachel, I should ask you first, any
- 44:57Speaker 2: thoughts that we haven't covered before we get into to
- 45:00Speaker 2: the Jonathan Rose ceremony scenarios, anything that you felt that
- 45:06Speaker 2: stood out to you.
- 45:08Speaker 3: Nothing really, I feel like I kind of went over
- 45:10Speaker 3: the most of it. I do love going into the ceremony.
- 45:13Speaker 3: I do love the footage from the rooms of everyone talking,
- 45:18Speaker 3: kind of like the hitting camera. I think it's giving
- 45:21Speaker 3: a lot of insight that normally, like when you're in
- 45:23Speaker 3: front of a big camera, you don't get so before
- 45:25Speaker 3: the row ceremony, like Cat crying and having that moment,
- 45:28Speaker 3: and I did like to see that.
- 45:30Speaker 2: So that's good. It's true. I mean, yeah, and you
- 45:34Speaker 2: see it even with the guys when Nancy comes in
- 45:37Speaker 2: and Gary's talking about you know how well endowed she is.
- 45:42Speaker 2: And I don't think they know they're being filmed.
- 45:45Speaker 3: And I love that because you genuinely forget. I experienced
- 45:48Speaker 3: this for the first time, and I'm like, oh my gosh,
- 45:51Speaker 3: like you literally just like you're filming so much you
- 45:53Speaker 3: forget that there's something in the corner.
- 45:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it's good to have this moment. It's really good
- 45:59Speaker 2: because you're gonna get the more like authentic, like very loose. Hey,
- 46:05Speaker 2: there's six guys in a room talking about what girls
- 46:08Speaker 2: they're into conversation and not so put together. To put
- 46:11Speaker 2: together gets old. I want to see Gary be like
- 46:14Speaker 2: I noticed something about Nancy and all the guys are like,
- 46:17Speaker 2: I didn't do. I think it's funny. I think it's
- 46:20Speaker 2: you know what, not like it. I think it's it
- 46:23Speaker 2: feels a lot more like my real life than anything
- 46:26Speaker 2: else that's happening.
- 46:27Speaker 3: Agreed. Now the Rose ceremony.
- 46:40Speaker 2: Okay, so we're in the Rose ceremony. Now, we obviously
- 46:43Speaker 2: have to mention. The easiest Rows of the whole season
- 46:47Speaker 2: so far is the Spencer and Jesse Rose. They seem
- 46:52Speaker 2: to be never shown because I think they're just one
- 46:54Speaker 2: of those quiet, steady couples. They are one of those
- 46:58Speaker 2: couples to go back and talking about the beginning that
- 47:01Speaker 2: maybe would have the conversation of like, hey, I'm so
- 47:04Speaker 2: into you that it would crush me if you date
- 47:06Speaker 2: anybody else, And they both reciprocated those feelings, and they
- 47:09Speaker 2: could like be the the Jade and the Tanners, the
- 47:12Speaker 2: Ashley and the Jared's, like those couples that just work forever,
- 47:18Speaker 2: which is fun to watch. I have always been in
- 47:21Speaker 2: the camp of I know they might be boring, I
- 47:24Speaker 2: know they might not have drama. I want to see
- 47:27Speaker 2: more of them because honestly, I watch this show not
- 47:32Speaker 2: only to see people make fools in themselves and to
- 47:34Speaker 2: say things like debt it, but also to see love
- 47:38Speaker 2: come out, like to see love actually work from the show.
- 47:41Speaker 2: That's what makes this show so great is there has
- 47:43Speaker 2: been real relationships happen and new humans being born, and
- 47:48Speaker 2: we don't see enough of them.
- 47:49Speaker 3: I don't think, no, they completely kind of It reminds
- 47:51Speaker 3: you of like Brandon and Serene and those couples that like,
- 47:55Speaker 3: do you genuinely make it at least for like some
- 47:58Speaker 3: like portion, but yeah, it's like the only time you
- 48:00Speaker 3: see them is when they're doing, like their couple advice
- 48:03Speaker 3: for people like you never genuinely see them talking, and
- 48:06Speaker 3: we know, like being on the show, you have so
- 48:09Speaker 3: many conversations that don't get like shown. And I would
- 48:12Speaker 3: love to see them having like deep conversations about like
- 48:15Speaker 3: family and what they're looking for, even if it's for
- 48:17Speaker 3: a second. I agree. I would like to see more.
- 48:20Speaker 2: Want a cheer for them and root for them, but
- 48:21Speaker 2: it's hard to and you don't see them. Here's the
- 48:24Speaker 2: rundown of the Roses this episode. Chrisa gives her rose
- 48:28Speaker 2: to Brian. That's not a shocker at all. At this point,
- 48:31Speaker 2: it seems like they're a very steady couple. Bailey gives
- 48:34Speaker 2: her rose to Jeremy, Alex gives her rose to Andrew.
- 48:37Speaker 2: Natasha gives her rose to Gary. We've spoken about how
- 48:39Speaker 2: big of a moment that was and kind of confusing
- 48:42Speaker 2: and what that led into. Leslie then gives her rose
- 48:45Speaker 2: to Kim. We'll stop here to talk about Kim for
- 48:49Speaker 2: a second. Captain Kim. At first, April thinks Captain Kim
- 48:53Speaker 2: is very into her and that was missing the mark
- 48:57Speaker 2: he is. He's perfect for the show, he's not made
- 49:02Speaker 2: for ally television. No, he's such a good so serious
- 49:05Speaker 2: and so direct that I love to watch him because
- 49:09Speaker 2: he makes every moment a little awkward and.
- 49:12Speaker 3: He's so confident about it, even if.
- 49:14Speaker 2: He's so wrong, like he didn't have Leslie's rose. If
- 49:17Speaker 2: Natasha doesn't give her rose to Gary, Gary has Leslie's rose.
- 49:21Speaker 2: So when he said I'm going to be getting Leslie's
- 49:23Speaker 2: rose and I'm not going to be pursuing anything with April,
- 49:27Speaker 2: he was so wrong. He got lucky.
- 49:29Speaker 3: And then he wrote it in his little poem again
- 49:32Speaker 3: that he was so confident and he knew, like, oh
- 49:35Speaker 3: my goodness, yeah, no, he definitely is not meant for TV.
- 49:38Speaker 3: But you know, we need all kinds of characters.
- 49:42Speaker 2: Oh, I think he has nothing. He has nothing wrong
- 49:45Speaker 2: about him. He's not hurting anybody in the process. I
- 49:48Speaker 2: respect his honesty, but goodness gracious, he just has a
- 49:52Speaker 2: way to make things a little bit weird. Yes, agreed,
- 49:55Speaker 2: And I appreciate it because I am right in that camp.
- 50:00Speaker 2: I think gives her rose to Keith. It feels like
- 50:02Speaker 2: a friendship is forming between Kathy and Keith. Jess gives
- 50:06Speaker 2: her rose to Spencer. Not a shock there. Jill gives
- 50:10Speaker 2: her rose to Sean. Is she happy to give her
- 50:13Speaker 2: rose to Sean in this moment or is this a
- 50:15Speaker 2: but grudgingly like I have nothing else to give.
- 50:19Speaker 3: I feel like at this point Jill is so mad
- 50:21Speaker 3: at Jonathan that anything that you know can work. Besides that,
- 50:27Speaker 3: she's kind of just like, all right, I'm gonna give
- 50:29Speaker 3: this a chance and pray for men tomorrow. Like that's
- 50:31Speaker 3: a bybe I got. I think she was definitely invested
- 50:34Speaker 3: in Jonathan, and that did confuse me. So I think
- 50:36Speaker 3: this is more of a we both know, we're just
- 50:39Speaker 3: like waiting for something better to come along.
- 50:43Speaker 2: Fair enough, Kat gives her rose to Dale. We've talked
- 50:45Speaker 2: about it. It's very still up in the air in
- 50:50Speaker 2: that relationship. It's a good relationship to have in Paradise
- 50:53Speaker 2: because it does bring drama. I don't love the path
- 50:59Speaker 2: that the preview you seem to put this relationship on.
- 51:02Speaker 2: It feels like it just gets more hurtful and more sad,
- 51:05Speaker 2: and I don't want it for either of them. But
- 51:07Speaker 2: after Kat's last time in Paradise and how she publicly
- 51:13Speaker 2: said how much it hurt her, I don't want more
- 51:17Speaker 2: pain to come. Paradise should be kind of that like
- 51:20Speaker 2: Resurrection show where you reinvent yourself, you give yourself a
- 51:25Speaker 2: better light. You come out of the ashes and you say, hey,
- 51:28Speaker 2: I know what you think I am. I'm somebody different.
- 51:30Speaker 2: And it feels like pat or Kat is on a
- 51:32Speaker 2: path kind of walk down a similar lane that she
- 51:36Speaker 2: did two seasons ago.
- 51:38Speaker 3: I think she is, from what I've seen, getting like
- 51:40Speaker 3: a redemption arc and she has it, but it is crazy,
- 51:42Speaker 3: like you guys have. Kat was wild on my season
- 51:45Speaker 3: and so I again don't wish her pain with this
- 51:49Speaker 3: Dale situation, but if it keeps going down this path,
- 51:52Speaker 3: I do think she kind of might be the victim
- 51:55Speaker 3: in it. But again we'll wait and see.
- 51:57Speaker 2: April gives her rose to Jonathan. Jonathan is sticking around.
- 52:01Speaker 2: Based on the generosity of April, there was no romantic
- 52:06Speaker 2: communication for this rose being given. She just really likes
- 52:09Speaker 2: this guy and thinks he's the best and has straight
- 52:13Speaker 2: up told him, hey, if you if I was younger,
- 52:15Speaker 2: I'd jump your bones. And I think what she's really
- 52:18Speaker 2: saying there is you deserve your chance. And so he's
- 52:22Speaker 2: sticking around for another week, which is good for the
- 52:24Speaker 2: show because he kind of has that Andrew Spencer first
- 52:29Speaker 2: season of Paradise vibe where you're like, he's a nice guy,
- 52:32Speaker 2: he's attractive. It feels like he's gonna friend zone a
- 52:34Speaker 2: lot of people.
- 52:35Speaker 3: Well, so with Jonathan, it's like, Okay, I think there
- 52:38Speaker 3: all comes a time where everyone needs to be like
- 52:40Speaker 3: all right, like maybe this isn't for me. It feels
- 52:43Speaker 3: like Jonathan is not giving anyone a chance. Yeah, just
- 52:46Speaker 3: like Alex and then like no one else for the
- 52:49Speaker 3: rest of the time, and then take a rose from
- 52:52Speaker 3: a guy, and like all the Golden Women were saying,
- 52:55Speaker 3: now we're down a guy. We have three men. So
- 52:58Speaker 3: you took that rose and you're still not open to
- 53:00Speaker 3: giving people a chance. I hope we see more next episode.
- 53:04Speaker 3: Hopefully he goes on a date and it opens up,
- 53:06Speaker 3: but I'm not seeing it.
- 53:08Speaker 2: Yeah, this the Golden Men that go home? R j
- 53:11Speaker 2: C K Jack go home. It is the question I
- 53:15Speaker 2: want to I mean, it does seem like the show is
- 53:17Speaker 2: now in a weird position. It just doesn't feel like
- 53:20Speaker 2: the show wanted to be in this position. It seems
- 53:24Speaker 2: from a production side to be a very unbalanced moment
- 53:28Speaker 2: where there is so few golden Men when when you
- 53:31Speaker 2: have so many people women and men going, we need
- 53:34Speaker 2: more men here, Like this isn't looking like we wanted
- 53:38Speaker 2: it to. There has to be more Golden men coming,
- 53:41Speaker 2: I would expect, right.
- 53:43Speaker 3: Hopefully, I mean, but we've already gotten two Golden women arrival.
- 53:48Speaker 3: Like it's truly not fair I think for them or
- 53:50Speaker 3: the young cast, Like how small this is, Like it
- 53:54Speaker 3: feels like they all got the short end of the stick.
- 53:57Speaker 2: I actually wonder and this could be a real price
- 54:00Speaker 2: problem if the show had a hard time get convincing
- 54:05Speaker 2: men from the Goldens to come on, and they had
- 54:08Speaker 2: their like group and they had pictured out, Hey, this
- 54:11Speaker 2: is how we're going to make it through and then
- 54:13Speaker 2: the Jonathan scenario threw them off and they don't have
- 54:15Speaker 2: a like anybody else hanging out the hotel.
- 54:18Speaker 3: Why didn't they like send a young person down, Like
- 54:20Speaker 3: why didn't they send leya down with the road?
- 54:23Speaker 2: It's a great that could have been.
- 54:26Speaker 3: Like an incredible like, oh my god, like Leah knows
- 54:28Speaker 3: what she wants or I mean, she's the only one
- 54:30Speaker 3: we've seen that's coming in like this week. But it
- 54:35Speaker 3: just seems like an easy thing to do instead of putting.
- 54:38Speaker 3: But they wanted that age gap grows.
- 54:40Speaker 2: They it's what it was. I think they did. I
- 54:42Speaker 2: think the show knew it would cause enough of an
- 54:45Speaker 2: upstir to make the press and the headlines and to
- 54:49Speaker 2: make people possibly tune in and go, what kind of
- 54:52Speaker 2: chaos is happening on this show?
- 54:54Speaker 3: I agreed.
- 54:55Speaker 2: You know, obviously they bring it Nancy. So Nancy's one
- 54:58Speaker 2: more golden woman. She's a hot commodity. We see every
- 55:03Speaker 2: man on the beach kind of go. I'm into that.
- 55:06Speaker 3: Heads are turned for Nancy.
- 55:08Speaker 2: You know, I've said on the podcast before, Nancy's from
- 55:10Speaker 2: the same place I am in Indiana. She grew up
- 55:12Speaker 2: in the same lake, and I know in Nancy's family
- 55:16Speaker 2: really well. I know Nancy. I love watching Nancy and
- 55:20Speaker 2: Paradise because these men are trying to flirt and be
- 55:23Speaker 2: like is it breakfast in ben She's like, we're not
- 55:24Speaker 2: sleeping together, and I'm like, that is very on.
- 55:27Speaker 3: Par I love her. I'm excited to see who she
- 55:31Speaker 3: hits it off with.
- 55:33Speaker 2: It's tough. I think it's going to be hard in
- 55:34Speaker 2: Paradise for Nancy, especially with only three men left. Now.
- 55:41Speaker 2: You mentioned Leah coming to the beach, you mentioned Nancy
- 55:44Speaker 2: coming to the beach, we have really towards the end
- 55:48Speaker 2: of the episode, for me, it was a lot of
- 55:52Speaker 2: filler space to kind of figure out who's going to
- 55:56Speaker 2: stay together and who's not. And obviously the Dale in
- 55:59Speaker 2: the cat scenario, so is the overarching storyline to the
- 56:03Speaker 2: end of this episode, because they kind of split ways
- 56:06Speaker 2: once again after the rose ceremony to say this isn't working.
- 56:10Speaker 2: We see Gary kind of turn down Natasha, and Natasha's
- 56:13Speaker 2: kind of out on her own looking to see who
- 56:14Speaker 2: she could possibly connect with, which is just brutal. I
- 56:18Speaker 2: think to watch any of these Goldens feel lost, I know, I.
- 56:23Speaker 3: Don't want to watch them be sad, Like that's why
- 56:25Speaker 3: I love The Golden Bachelor.
- 56:27Speaker 2: I don't want to seem and they do seem sad.
- 56:31Speaker 3: It's hurtful no matter what age, especially if they're not
- 56:34Speaker 3: dating as much as like we are, Like this is
- 56:37Speaker 3: their one chance to really go down and meet people
- 56:39Speaker 3: who are willing to like date and like to see
- 56:43Speaker 3: anyone get hurt. It's so sad.
- 56:45Speaker 2: If I was them, I'd almost be in the mindset
- 56:47Speaker 2: at this point too, like, hey, we have like four
- 56:49Speaker 2: more days together here, Like, doesn't look like any of
- 56:52Speaker 2: us are get in roses. Do you girls just want
- 56:54Speaker 2: to party, like, let's just go have.
- 56:56Speaker 3: Far genuinely, And I would like to watch the I'd
- 56:59Speaker 3: like to watch them have to do rose ceremony and
- 57:02Speaker 3: then be in the champagne lounge with Hannah Brown and
- 57:04Speaker 3: having fun. Well the kids have the drama, and then
- 57:07Speaker 3: we just get like glimpses of them partying like that's.
- 57:09Speaker 2: What we want, and having the most like beautiful judgmental
- 57:13Speaker 2: conversations about everybody dating, like they kind of commentate it.
- 57:17Speaker 3: That's what we need.
- 57:18Speaker 2: It'd be amazing because we get Kathy just you know, unveiled,
- 57:24Speaker 2: with enough champagne in her to loosen her lips, Natasha
- 57:27Speaker 2: saying what she says, Hannah Brown guiding the way that's ivy.
- 57:32Speaker 3: Yes, it should be completely separated and they just don't
- 57:36Speaker 3: have to worry about going home and they can make
- 57:37Speaker 3: their connections organically, and then at the end we'll see
- 57:40Speaker 3: if there's couples.
- 57:41Speaker 2: I love it. Faith Martin also arrives at the beach
- 57:44Speaker 2: One more Golden Girls, six Golden Women, three Golden Men,
- 57:48Speaker 2: which leads us to the previews for the next episode. Uh,
- 57:54Speaker 2: previews don't tell me much, but Rachel, really I think
- 57:56Speaker 2: the most interesting part of this and where I think
- 57:59Speaker 2: I've always your opinion on is this money element added
- 58:03Speaker 2: to Paradise? First question, do you like it or not?
- 58:09Speaker 3: I think again, going back, like it's too much, too
- 58:12Speaker 3: soon for me, like it is, And maybe it's because
- 58:15Speaker 3: I've been there and I just hold this show in
- 58:18Speaker 3: such a high regard. It feels like they're like, all right,
- 58:21Speaker 3: let's change every single thing and see what sticks. And
- 58:25Speaker 3: I just don't like it. I don't like that they're
- 58:27Speaker 3: changing to try to be other shows.
- 58:29Speaker 2: I'm with you, it does. I think we talked about
- 58:32Speaker 2: it a few weeks ago. It does feel like they're
- 58:34Speaker 2: like there to too late. One. It's not revolutionary. What
- 58:38Speaker 2: the Bachelor always had was this kind of upstanding above
- 58:43Speaker 2: reproach exactly, content that made us all go love is possible,
- 58:48Speaker 2: even in the wildest ways. I really now. I'm four
- 58:52Speaker 2: episodes in, I really hate I don't like the money element.
- 58:55Speaker 2: I think it. I think it ruins this show to me.
- 58:58Speaker 2: It is distracting me. It also makes me question everybody's motives, which,
- 59:03Speaker 2: going back, the beauty beautiful part about Paradise was it
- 59:07Speaker 2: was relatable because we knew your motives have to be
- 59:10Speaker 2: pretty pure to stick around in a place that is
- 59:13Speaker 2: so uncomfortable only with the hope of finding love. Now
- 59:18Speaker 2: you have air conditioning and money.
- 59:20Speaker 3: No, genuinely, and I think it's okay whatever, Like it said,
- 59:24Speaker 3: it's going back to the OG bachelor pad days. Then
- 59:27Speaker 3: I want to see every single person knowing that when
- 59:29Speaker 3: they walk in, I want to see how they act
- 59:32Speaker 3: different knowing that. But now I have like, I don't know,
- 59:36Speaker 3: it's just too much, too soon. I don't like it.
- 59:39Speaker 3: I think it's so unnecessary bachelor's fantasy. Like you said,
- 59:43Speaker 3: it's this love, and it's this it's OG. It's the
- 59:46Speaker 3: first that it's a first dating show, and now it
- 59:48Speaker 3: feels like you're trying to be like everyone else. Now
- 59:50Speaker 3: we're like lost everything that we've had. And then Paradise
- 59:53Speaker 3: was our one, like funny, humorous, like got to have
- 59:57Speaker 3: the cheesy intros and we don't have even now nothing
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: is the same. There's no bachelor to it.
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: It was an escape to laugh with and at people
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: and then go, I like you like at the end
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: of Paradise, get married. Yeah, it's amazing, Like it had
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: so many good elements. The money to me, Rachel distracts
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: from all of it. I also, I don't know. I
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: don't know the why, because if the why was to
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: intrigue viewers one, they saved it for way too long
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: in the season. You've lost all the viewers. If money
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: was going to be your big you know, catch them
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: all and and kind of like you said, people, we
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: don't know how people are going to respond. It could
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: break up really beautiful relationships. Half million dollars is not
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: nothing like. It could definitely change the dynamics of the
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: Spencers and Jesse's if all of a sudden, a half
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: million dollars is on the table and they have to
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: decide between each other after a few weeks of knowing
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: each other. I just don't know the why it hasn't
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: been clearly communicated to me and why this money exists
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: and what it's for. I would I would be less
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: upset with this season, and I still am watching it
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: and I'm still intrigued. I'd be less upset with this
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: season if I didn't have this kind of cloud over
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: the whole thing so far, being like, but when is
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: the money going to be introduced and what's that going
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: to do? Because it feels like a whole different season than.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: Me, and people are not going to be coming down
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: to the beach anymore, Like that's the point of periodise.
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: I want to see bombshells. I want to see people
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: like breaking out and breaking up or staying together, like Okay,
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: now there's no more bombshells. And we have all these
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: instable like or whatever couples like Jail and Cat. Yeah,
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: they're going to be competing. They're fighting, like Jill and Sean,
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: who are not Like, how did we get to this
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: point where we don't have solid couples. Jeremy hasn't even
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: told Bailey, and now we're going to play for.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: Half a million dollars doesn't make it.
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: I don't like it. And are the Goldens doing these games?
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: I have no idea, Like I said, we have not
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: that we have not gotten any communication on what this
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: many means. We're four episodes in, uh what episode five?
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: They're going to drop the bomb and be like, oh,
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: by the way, you've been here the whole time and
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: it hasn't been ideal, but you're here for a half
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: million dollars. It feels so odd to me. It feels
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: like they wanted to do this and they were trying
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: to land a sponsorship, and they finally landed a sponsorship
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: last week. They had some sponsored date by the movie
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: and they're like, Okay, now we can offer a half
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: million dollars without it, we didn't have it, but now
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: we got a half million to offer these people.
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like, yeah, it's just too much. It's
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: too much change for me. It feels like they're trying
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: to be Love Island in a way. But the challenges
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: from the preview didn't even look like Love Island challenges,
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: where it's like let's test chemistry and get drama going.
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: It was like they were like doing these survivor challenges,
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: like why am I watching tribal console and like a
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: Love Island end, where's the engagement's? Like where is Neil
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: Lane in this preview? Like this is not the Bachelor.
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: I don't like it.
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: I don't want to see Rachel Rekia stand on one
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: leg for thirty minutes and see if she survives it.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: I don't want to see it. It's not interesting to me.
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: Let's switch out Jesse and Jeff probes, like I too
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: much at once, too much once, and maybe I'm coming
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: from like being old in the franchise, like I want
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: things to be the same, but no, no, no, I
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: don't like it.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: That's the best part about having a podcast is if
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: you are wrong and people don't agree with you, they'll
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: tell you, but they they also I think we're speaking
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: to most listeners and watchers right now. From most of
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: the polls and the comments and the feedback that we've received,
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: people are feeling very similar to to how we are
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: right now about this season, Rachel, as we close up here,
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: any final thoughts based on the preview, based on what
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: we've talked about that we did not cover.
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: Oh, I'm glad we got a chance to talk. I'm
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: glad we're on the same page. This has been great.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: Okay. I love to do this with anybody that has
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: a big moment. First Off, congratulations. Anytime you're asked to
