Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:03
Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. Yo, you know what I'm absolutely sick of hearing?
• 0:08
Speaker 1: That Jeffrey Epstein is a hoax. Look, not every rumor
• 0:12
Speaker 1: about Jeffrey Epstein is true. Not that every person photographed
• 0:16
Speaker 1: with Jeffrey Epstein committed a crime. Not that every name
• 0:19
Speaker 1: in an address book belongs in an indictment. Those are
• 0:23
Speaker 1: reasonable distinctions, and anybody who has spent serious time with
• 0:27
Speaker 1: the case understands them. I'm talking about the much bigger,
• 0:31
Speaker 1: much stupider claim that the Epstein scandal itself was somehow manufactured,
• 0:36
Speaker 1: that the public was duped, that the outrage was fake,
• 0:40
Speaker 1: that the entire thing was inflated by political operatives, conspiracy theorists,
• 0:45
Speaker 1: internet lunatics, or whoever happens to be useful as a
• 0:48
Speaker 1: punching bag that particular afternoon. Fine. Then explain the banks.
• 0:53
Speaker 1: Explain the money. Explain why the supposed hoax keeps producing
• 0:57
Speaker 1: very real settlements written in very real dollars to the
• 1:01
Speaker 1: very real women who said that they were abused by
• 1:04
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein. Because as of this week, that argument has
• 1:08
Speaker 1: become even more ridiculous. JPMorgan Chase agreed to pay approximately
• 1:13
Speaker 1: $ 290 million to settle claims brought on behalf of Epstein survivors.
• 1:18
Speaker 1: Deutsche Bank agreed to pay $ 75 million to settle claims
• 1:22
Speaker 1: brought by Epstein survivors. And now Bank of America has
• 1:26
Speaker 1: received final court approval for another $ 72. 5 million settlement involving
• 1:33
Speaker 1: Epstein accusers. And that's roughly $ 437. 5 million from those three
• 1:40
Speaker 1: survivor settlements alone. No internet points, no podcast downloads, no
• 1:44
Speaker 1: political talking points. $ 437. 5 million. And that still does not
• 1:51
Speaker 1: tell the whole story. JPMorgan says, separately agreed to a
• 1:55
Speaker 1: $ 75 million settlement with the U.S. Virgin Islands over claims
• 1:59
Speaker 1: connected to its relationship with Epstein. Deutsche Bank was hit
• 2:03
Speaker 1: with a $ 150 million penalty by New York's Department of
• 2:07
Speaker 1: Financial Services after regulators examined its relationship with Epstein along
• 2:12
Speaker 1: with other compliance failures. New York regulators specifically found that
• 2:17
Speaker 1: Deutsche Bank failed to properly monitor Epstein's account activity despite
• 2:21
Speaker 1: his criminal history and process transactions that should have raised
• 2:26
Speaker 1: obvious concerns. So, I have a question. What the fuck
• 2:30
Speaker 1: are we even talking about when we call this a hoax?
• 2:34
Speaker 1: Because apparently Jeffrey Epstein operated under two entirely different systems
• 2:38
Speaker 1: of reality. There's the Jeffrey Epstein in political discourse, where
• 2:43
Speaker 1: suddenly everybody develops amnesia, everybody demands an impossible evidentiary threshold
• 2:49
Speaker 1: before they'll even tolerate a question, And everybody who asks
• 2:52
Speaker 1: how this man operated for decades is treated like they
• 2:55
Speaker 1: just wandered out of the woods wearing a tinfoil hat. Then,
• 2:59
Speaker 1: of course, there is Jeffrey Epstein inside a federal courthouse.
• 3:03
Speaker 1: And holy shit, does everybody sober up quickly in there.
• 3:07
Speaker 1: Inside the courthouse, that swagger, it disappears. Inside that courthouse,
• 3:12
Speaker 1: nobody's posting memes about conspiracy theories. Inside the courthouse, corporations
• 3:16
Speaker 1: represented by some of the most sophisticated lawyers in America...
• 3:20
Speaker 1: start calculating exposure. Discovery starts moving. Internal communications start becoming relevant.
• 3:28
Speaker 1: Compliance decisions start becoming relevant. So do transactions. Executives start
• 3:34
Speaker 1: facing depositions. Records start getting dragged into daylight. Suddenly, the
• 3:39
Speaker 1: scandal that supposedly deserves nothing but mockery starts costing financial
• 3:44
Speaker 1: institutions hundreds of millions of dollars. Interesting how that works.
• 3:49
Speaker 1: Apparently Epstein is a hoax right up until somebody has
• 3:52
Speaker 1: to testify under oath. Then the fucking checkbook comes out.
• 3:57
Speaker 1: And I'm supposed to believe that nobody sees the contradiction?
• 4:01
Speaker 1: I'm supposed to believe that some of the largest banks
• 4:03
Speaker 1: on the planet, institution staff with compliance departments, outside counsel,
• 4:08
Speaker 1: risk managers, forensic specialists and lawyers billing more per hour
• 4:12
Speaker 1: than most Americans make in a week, looked at completely
• 4:15
Speaker 1: imaginary allegations and and collectively decided that hundreds of millions
• 4:19
Speaker 1: of dollars was the appropriate price to make him disappear?
• 4:23
Speaker 1: Come on. And spare me the freshman year legal lecture
• 4:26
Speaker 1: that settlements are not admissions of liability. No shit. Nobody
• 4:31
Speaker 1: serious is claiming that a civil settlement is identical to
• 4:34
Speaker 1: a criminal conviction. JP Morgan did not admit wrongdoing in
• 4:39
Speaker 1: its survivor settlement. Deutsche Bank did not admit wrongdoing in its.
• 4:43
Speaker 1: Bank of America denied that it facilitated Epstein's trafficking. and
• 4:47
Speaker 1: those distinctions matter. But the no admission language does not
• 4:50
Speaker 1: magically transform $ 437. 5 million into monopoly money. A bank does
• 4:57
Speaker 1: not need to confess to a crime for you to
• 4:59
Speaker 1: examine what the litigation exposed. A settlement does not prove
• 5:03
Speaker 1: every allegation, but neither does it erase the documents, the
• 5:06
Speaker 1: internal warnings, the compliance failures, the transaction histories, or the
• 5:11
Speaker 1: institutional decisions that had made these cases possible in the
• 5:14
Speaker 1: first place. And Deutsche Bank is where it becomes particularly obscene.
• 5:20
Speaker 1: This wasn't some institution innocently discovering in 2019 that Jeffrey
• 5:25
Speaker 1: Epstein had a questionable reputation. Deutsche Bank took Epstein on
• 5:29
Speaker 1: as a client in 2013. Read that year again. 2013.
• 5:35
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein had already pleaded guilty in Florida years earlier.
• 5:38
Speaker 1: His status wasn't hidden. His criminal history wasn't locked in
• 5:42
Speaker 1: a vault underneath Area 51. It was public. and yet
• 5:46
Speaker 1: Deutsche Bank onboarded him anyway. New York regulators later said
• 5:50
Speaker 1: that the bank failed to properly monitor his activity despite
• 5:54
Speaker 1: ample information about his criminal misconduct. Regulators identified payments to
• 5:59
Speaker 1: people publicly alleged to have been his co-conspirators. Millions in
• 6:03
Speaker 1: settlement payments, payments to Russian models, tuition payments for women,
• 6:08
Speaker 1: hotel and rent expenses, and more than $ 800, 000 in suspicious
• 6:12
Speaker 1: cash withdrawals over roughly four years. That's not Bobby on
• 6:17
Speaker 1: the internet speculating. It's not Reddit. It's not some YouTube
• 6:21
Speaker 1: channel with red circles around photographs. That was the New
• 6:24
Speaker 1: York State Department of Financial Services. The fucking banking regulator.
• 6:30
Speaker 1: And their language was devastating. They said that Deutsche Bank
• 6:34
Speaker 1: knew that Epstein's terrible criminal history and nevertheless failed to
• 6:37
Speaker 1: detect or prevent millions of dollars in suspicious transactions. So
• 6:43
Speaker 1: where exactly does the hoax begin? Was the New York
• 6:47
Speaker 1: regulator in on it too? Were Deutsche Bank's own records
• 6:50
Speaker 1: part of the conspiracy? Were the transactions imaginary? Were the
• 6:54
Speaker 1: compliance failures staged? Did somebody photoshop the bank accounts? At
• 6:59
Speaker 1: what point does this ridiculous argument collapse under the weight
• 7:03
Speaker 1: of its own stupidity? And then there's J.P. Morgan. Epstein
• 7:07
Speaker 1: remained a client there until 2013, years after his 2008 conviction. Years,
• 7:12
Speaker 1: not days, not weeks, years. And when JP Morgan eventually
• 7:17
Speaker 1: faced litigation brought by Survivors, the bank agreed to approximately
• 7:22
Speaker 1: a $ 290 million settlement so that those claims would go away.
• 7:26
Speaker 1: Reuters has reported that litigation revealed internal warnings and red
• 7:30
Speaker 1: flags involving a client that the bank continued servicing. JP
• 7:35
Speaker 1: Morgan itself has since said its association with Epstein was
• 7:38
Speaker 1: a mistake that it regrets. The bank can pay $ 290
• 7:43
Speaker 1: million to settle Survivor claims. But you sitting at home
• 7:47
Speaker 1: are supposed to conclude that asking how the hell this
• 7:49
Speaker 1: happened is conspiratorial. And that is fucking absurd. The entire
• 7:55
Speaker 1: Epstein story is filled with this bizarre inversion where the
• 7:58
Speaker 1: people demanding answers are treated as irrational while the institutions
• 8:02
Speaker 1: paying enormous amounts of money because of the underlying facts
• 8:05
Speaker 1: are treated like background noise. Yo, think about that for
• 8:09
Speaker 1: a minute. We're told not to infer too much from
• 8:12
Speaker 1: the money. Fine. Then let us infer something from the behavior.
• 8:16
Speaker 1: Epstein was convicted in Florida in 2008. J.P. Morgan continued
• 8:20
Speaker 1: banking him for years. Deutsche picked him up afterwards. Then
• 8:24
Speaker 1: itself now acknowledges that onboarding him was an error. New
• 8:28
Speaker 1: York regulators identified significant compliance failures. Survivors sued. The banks fought.
• 8:35
Speaker 1: Discovery produced embarrassing-ass material. Hundreds of millions of dollars changed hands.
• 8:40
Speaker 1: And somehow the lesson some people extracted from all of
• 8:43
Speaker 1: this was, nothing to see here. Are you fucking kidding me?
• 8:48
Speaker 1: The intellectually serious conclusion is not that every allegation connected
• 8:52
Speaker 1: to Epstein must therefore be true. The intellectually serious conclusion
• 8:57
Speaker 1: is that the scandal was enormous, institutional, financially embedded, and
• 9:02
Speaker 1: worthy of ruthless scrutiny. Those are different things. And people
• 9:07
Speaker 1: deliberately pretend they're the same because it gives them an
• 9:11
Speaker 1: escape hatch. They say, well, you can't prove every rich
• 9:14
Speaker 1: guy in Epstein's phone book abused somebody. Correct. And completely irrelevant.
• 9:20
Speaker 1: Because nobody has to prove that proposition to establish that
• 9:23
Speaker 1: major institutions failed spectacularly around Jeffrey Epstein. You don't have
• 9:29
Speaker 1: to establish that every famous person committed a crime before
• 9:32
Speaker 1: asking why banks were processing his money. You don't have
• 9:36
Speaker 1: to prove that every rumor is true before asking why
• 9:39
Speaker 1: a convicted sex offender remained a valued financial client. You
• 9:43
Speaker 1: don't have to believe every intelligence theory, every blackmail theory,
• 9:47
Speaker 1: every online allegation or every anonymous claim before recognizing the
• 9:51
Speaker 1: documented institutional failures staring you directly in the face. That
• 9:56
Speaker 1: rhetorical trick has poisoned this entire conversation. Take the wildest
• 10:02
Speaker 1: claim anybody has ever made about Epstein, hold it up
• 10:05
Speaker 1: as a representative of everybody asking questions, knock it down,
• 10:09
Speaker 1: and then declare the entire scandal discredited. Talk about laundering
• 10:13
Speaker 1: bullshit through a straw man. The documented Epstein story is
• 10:18
Speaker 1: already grotesque enough. You don't need embellishment. You have a
• 10:22
Speaker 1: man who received one of the most controversial non-prosecution agreements
• 10:26
Speaker 1: in modern American criminal justice. You have a man who
• 10:30
Speaker 1: served an extraordinary lenient sentence with extensive work release. You
• 10:35
Speaker 1: have survivors who have spent years fighting through courts to
• 10:38
Speaker 1: be heard. You have financial institutions continuing to maintain relationships
• 10:43
Speaker 1: with him after his criminal conduct was publicly known. You
• 10:47
Speaker 1: have regulators documenting failures You have civil litigation on covering
• 10:51
Speaker 1: internal communications and financial relationships. You have hundreds of millions
• 10:56
Speaker 1: of dollars being paid to survivors. You have the bipedal serpent,
• 11:01
Speaker 1: Ghislaine Maxwell, convicted by a federal jury and sentenced to
• 11:04
Speaker 1: 20 years in prison for helping facilitate the sexual abuse
• 11:08
Speaker 1: of minors. And you have people standing in the middle
• 11:11
Speaker 1: of all that, telling you the scandal was a hoax? Yo,
• 11:15
Speaker 1: at some point, you have to ask whether the word
• 11:17
Speaker 1: hoax is being used because the evidence supports it, or
• 11:21
Speaker 1: because the word itself is useful. Because hoax is wonderfully convenient.
• 11:26
Speaker 1: It ends conversations. It delegitimizes questions. It embarrasses people into silence.
• 11:32
Speaker 1: It allows politicians to avoid answering. It allows institutions to
• 11:37
Speaker 1: change the subject. It allows partisan hacks to pretend the
• 11:40
Speaker 1: only two choices are either believing every rumor ever posted
• 11:44
Speaker 1: about Epstein, or believing there was nothing meaningful to investigate. Yo,
• 11:49
Speaker 1: fuck that choice. I reject it completely. There's a third option.
• 11:54
Speaker 1: Read the record. Read the lawsuits. Read the regulatory findings,
• 11:58
Speaker 1: the depositions, the bank communications, what financial compliance personnel were discussing.
• 12:04
Speaker 1: Read about the transactions, what the survivors alleged, what the
• 12:08
Speaker 1: institutions eventually paid, and then make up your own mind.
• 12:13
Speaker 1: And when you do that, the simplistic hoax narrative starts
• 12:16
Speaker 1: looking less like skepticism and more like an insult to
• 12:19
Speaker 1: anyone who bothered to study the case. Because here's the
• 12:23
Speaker 1: question that I can't get past. If these women were
• 12:27
Speaker 1: chasing an imaginary scandal, why did sophisticated defendants keep paying them?
• 12:32
Speaker 1: Not one institution, multiple institutions, JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank, Bank
• 12:37
Speaker 1: of America, and the number attached to those survivor settlements
• 12:41
Speaker 1: now approach half a billion dollars. I think that matters. Now,
• 12:45
Speaker 1: it doesn't prove every individual allegation. It doesn't establish criminal
• 12:49
Speaker 1: liability against every banker. But it sure as hell means
• 12:53
Speaker 1: this was not some meaningless internet fantasy. And even more important,
• 12:57
Speaker 1: remember that civil litigations exist to do what criminal process
• 13:01
Speaker 1: often failed to do in the Epstein saga. It forces answers.
• 13:05
Speaker 1: A prosecutor can decline a case, make a deal, can
• 13:09
Speaker 1: narrow an investigation, a defendant can die. A criminal prosecution
• 13:13
Speaker 1: can end. But civil litigants can continue digging. They can
• 13:17
Speaker 1: demand records, seek depositions, subpoena documents, trace financial relationships. They
• 13:23
Speaker 1: can ask executives what they knew. And that's exactly why
• 13:27
Speaker 1: the civil side of the Epstein case has been so revealing.
• 13:31
Speaker 1: It wandered into rooms. The criminal justice system never seemed
• 13:34
Speaker 1: terribly interested in entering. Then it started turning on the lights.
• 13:38
Speaker 1: And what happened? Well, the money started moving. That's the
• 13:42
Speaker 1: fucking story. Not that settlements equal convictions. Not that everybody
• 13:46
Speaker 1: who crossed Epstein's path was guilty. Not that every conspiracy
• 13:50
Speaker 1: theory was validated. The story is that when survivors finally
• 13:54
Speaker 1: gained legal mechanisms capable of forcing powerful institutions to answer
• 13:59
Speaker 1: uncomfortable questions, those institutions suddenly discovered that Epstein was not
• 14:04
Speaker 1: nearly as fictional as his political defenders would like you
• 14:07
Speaker 1: to believe. And now we have reached peak absurdity. Bank
• 14:11
  Speaker 1: of America's $ 72. 5 million settlement received final approval on August 27, 2026, yesterday.
• 14:20
Speaker 1: So while people are still running around in 2026 telling
• 14:23
Speaker 1: Americans that Epstein is some exhausted hoax that everybody should
• 14:26
Speaker 1: stop talking about, another federal court just approved another multi-million
• 14:31
Speaker 1: dollar settlement for women who accused a major bank of
• 14:35
Speaker 1: facilitating the environment surrounding his abuse. You cannot write the
• 14:40
Speaker 1: satire better than reality has written it. The Epstein hoax
• 14:44
Speaker 1: is over, everybody. Please ignore the new $ 72. 5 million Epstein
• 14:48
Speaker 1: settlement behind the curtain. Nothing happened. Please ignore JP Morgan's
• 14:52
Speaker 1: $ 290 million settlement. Nothing to see. Please ignore Deutsche Bank's
• 14:57
Speaker 1: $ 75 million survivor settlement. Definitely don't look at New York
• 15:01
Speaker 1: regulator findings. And whatever you do, do not add those
• 15:04
Speaker 1: numbers together. Because then the supposed hoax starts getting awfully
• 15:09
Speaker 1: fucking expensive. The survivors were forced to fight for recognition
• 15:12
Speaker 1: for years. They fought Jeffrey Epstein. They fought institutional indifference,
• 15:17
Speaker 1: legal obstacles, armies of lawyers. They fought public skepticism. Some
• 15:22
Speaker 1: have now watched their abuse become a political football, where
• 15:25
Speaker 1: people who barely read a single court filing announce confidently
• 15:29
Speaker 1: that the entire scandal is fabricated because the truth happens
• 15:32
Speaker 1: to be inconvenient for their preferred political tribe. Meanwhile, the
• 15:37
Speaker 1: people who actually lived through it have been sitting in courtrooms,
• 15:40
Speaker 1: giving depositions, signing declarations, submitting evidence, facing cross-examination, and extracting
• 15:47
Speaker 1: hundreds of millions of dollars through the civil justice system.
• 15:52
Speaker 1: Who exactly are we supposed to believe took this more seriously?
• 15:56
Speaker 1: The anonymous jackass typing hoax under a Twitter post? Or
• 16:00
Speaker 1: the bank that wired $ 290 million into a settlement fund?
• 16:04
Speaker 1: I'll let you decide. But there is one final question
• 16:07
Speaker 1: worth asking. Maybe Epstein was not a hoax in criminal
• 16:11
Speaker 1: court and real in civil court. Maybe the criminal system
• 16:14
Speaker 1: simply never finished the fucking job. Maybe when Epstein died
• 16:18
Speaker 1: before trial, one of the most consequential federal sex trafficking
• 16:21
Speaker 1: prosecutions in modern American history died with him. Maybe prosecutorial
• 16:27
Speaker 1: decisions made years earlier had already narrowed the path to accountability.
• 16:33
Speaker 1: Maybe civil litigation became the only remaining weapon powerful enough
• 16:36
Speaker 1: to pry open institutions that would have otherwise preferred silence.
• 16:42
Speaker 1: And maybe that's so much of what we now understand
• 16:45
Speaker 1: about Epstein's financial ecosystem came from lawsuits rather than indictments.
• 16:50
Speaker 1: And maybe, just maybe, the people screaming hoax understand exactly
• 16:55
Speaker 1: how useful that word is. Because calling something a hoax
• 16:59
Speaker 1: is much easier... than explaining the 437.5 million. It's easier
• 17:04
Speaker 1: than explaining why Deutsche Bank onboarded a convicted sex offender,
• 17:08
Speaker 1: or why J.P. Morgan kept Epstein for years after his conviction,
• 17:12
Speaker 1: or why the regulatory findings were so horrible, or the
• 17:16
Speaker 1: red flags, or the settlements. And it's certainly easier than
• 17:20
Speaker 1: looking the survivors in the face and telling them that
• 17:23
Speaker 1: the institutions writing the checks apparently believed their allegations deserved
• 17:27
Speaker 1: hundreds of millions of dollars More consideration than the people
• 17:31
Speaker 1: calling their entire ordeal fake. So no, I'm not accepting
• 17:35
Speaker 1: that premise. You want to call Epstein a hoax? Bring receipts.
• 17:39
Speaker 1: Because the survivors already have theirs. JP Morgan, roughly $ 290 million.
• 17:45
Speaker 1: Deutsche Bank, $ 75 million. Bank of America, $ 72. 5 million. And
• 17:50
Speaker 1: behind those numbers sit decades of abuse, institutional cowardice, regulatory failure,
• 17:56
Speaker 1: legal maneuvering, shattered lives, and questions that still have not
• 18:00
Speaker 1: been adequately answered. That's one hell of an expensive hoax.
• 18:04
Speaker 1: Or maybe it was never a hoax at all. Maybe
• 18:08
Speaker 1: the hoax was convincing millions of people that asking who
• 18:11
Speaker 1: enabled Jeffrey Epstein was somehow crazier than the documented fact
• 18:15
Speaker 1: that some of the most sophisticated financial institutions on Earth
• 18:19
Speaker 1: kept doing business within his orbit and eventually paid fortunes
• 18:23
Speaker 1: to resolve what followed. And if somebody still wants to
• 18:26
Speaker 1: look at that record and tell you there is nothing there, fine.
• 18:29
Speaker 1: Let them. Just make them explain the fucking checks. All
• 18:35
Speaker 1: the information that goes with this episode can be found
• 18:38
Speaker 1: in the description box.
