Latest / The Jon and Marc Podcast / Five Mass Tort Trials at Once? Live Updates from NTL Miami
Transcript
- 0:09We are live from National Trial Lawyers in Miami, we are live
- 0:15streaming this and we are live in person for Tor Talks Day 2
- 0:20Miami. We have John, Mark and the
- 0:23wonderful Joe Fantini. Thanks for being here.
- 0:26Thanks for having me guys. Excited to do another live
- 0:29edition of Tort Talk. So unfortunately we were unable
- 0:32to do an episode of Pillow talk because we couldn't get a bed
- 0:35here inside the Conference Center at the Loews Hotel.
- 0:39But maybe at the next mass tort may perfect, we'll bring back
- 0:42pillow talk, but we have a lot of updates to go through a very,
- 0:46very busy week in the mass tort world.
- 0:50So let's hop into some of the different trials that are going
- 0:52on. I.
- 0:52I, I want to talk about social media addiction because I was
- 0:55really tries to see the Snapchat settlement.
- 0:58So they're out of the trial. The trial starts actually today,
- 1:01the 27th in California. Lanier is handling the trial.
- 1:07I know Bergman is out there from Social Media Victims Law Center.
- 1:10Give us like the current state of that trial and what you
- 1:13think's going to happen. Yeah, I, I was surprised that
- 1:16it's still going on at this point.
- 1:18Honestly, right after Snap settled, I thought the other
- 1:21ones would settle as well. We talked a little bit off
- 1:25camera about Meadow being worth more than a trillion dollars and
- 1:29they're going to let, you know, Zuckerberg testify.
- 1:32It just doesn't, you know, make business sense from my
- 1:37perspective for that to happen. So I, I think we're going to
- 1:40have a settlement probably at some point during the trial.
- 1:45I don't think it's going to go all the way through.
- 1:47I don't think it's going to go to verdict.
- 1:49You know, the longer it goes on that the more they're going to
- 1:52have to pay during the trial. But it doesn't seem like it's
- 1:55positioned right now for a global settlement in that
- 1:58litigation. So I think this one case
- 2:00settles. And then coming up behind it, we
- 2:03have in the NBL, it's the school district bellwether trial next
- 2:07month. So maybe the defendants are
- 2:09trying to get a feeling on the value of the individual
- 2:13plaintiffs versus school districts.
- 2:15They just lost a motion to dismiss and that MDL so that
- 2:19trials on as well. But I haven't heard any real
- 2:22substantive talks of global right now, but I think that
- 2:26could happen this year in 26th. So we're talking about is it
- 2:29just Meta that's left or is Google in it too?
- 2:31TikTok. Yeah, there's other defendants,
- 2:33Google, TikTok, and then even in different cases, you know,
- 2:37there's a lot of different defendants as well.
- 2:39So this trial that's going on, you know, I think it's doesn't
- 2:44make sense for Mehta to have. Zuckerberg on the trial.
- 2:47Yeah. You think they'll settle out
- 2:48before he testifies? That that's what I would
- 2:51envision, right. You know, I, I think that would
- 2:53happen. We still have to go through jury
- 2:55selection. We have to, you know, get the
- 2:57trial underway, the opening so there there's some time, but I
- 3:01haven't heard a specific date when he's going to be called
- 3:05yet. Maybe that's out there, but I I
- 3:07don't see this case going to verdict.
- 3:09I heard it's impossible to get in the courtroom.
- 3:12They're not going to be live streaming it.
- 3:14It'll be interesting to see how much mainstream media coverage
- 3:17this winds up getting. But this is going to set the
- 3:20table for the future of this litigation.
- 3:22Snapchat settling out with a very positive sign for
- 3:25plaintiffs. The 230 stuff I think is
- 3:28somewhat in the rearview mirror, right?
- 3:30And now we're just dealing with like, how is each of these
- 3:32companies going to kind of set the table for the future of what
- 3:35they're going to do with each of these, each of these bellwether
- 3:38trials? And then, you know, is a global
- 3:40going to come? We hope so, right?
- 3:42And like you said, it's going to set set the table for this
- 3:44litigation. But then this is video game
- 3:46addiction. This is online gambling
- 3:49gambling, you know, this is going to be the road map for the
- 3:52Roblox cases. It's going to be for the ChatGPT
- 3:56suicide cases. This is really laying it all
- 3:59out. So like we've talked time and
- 4:01time again, it's, it's this new age of mass torts, right?
- 4:04When's the last time you heard somebody talk about a product, a
- 4:07medical device in mass torts? It's it's not talked about.
- 4:11It's all on these digital platforms.
- 4:13So we're going to be focusing on that for the next 3, five years.
- 4:17Make sure you follow along for Tort Talk, the most important 10
- 4:21minutes of mass tort each week on the John and Mark podcast.
- 4:25With Joe Fantini, I was. Trying to think the last like
- 4:28major drug that like got any attention was Ozempic.
- 4:31Yeah, and that was a couple years ago.
- 4:32Right. And then and that was just also
- 4:35like, that's was like one of the most widespread new medical
- 4:39products of the decade. Yeah, it was a huge product.
- 4:42A lot of people using it, but we really haven't had a drug or a
- 4:46device case. If you remember 1012 years ago,
- 4:49the hips, like where are the hip implants?
- 4:51Yeah. Or any of those that have over
- 4:5210,000 like claimants as part of the MDL.
- 4:55There is some small ones. Right.
- 4:57Yeah. You know, we have the Paragard
- 5:00IUD going on some of the the power ports, right, But they're
- 5:04all under 5000. So the numerosity, it's all in
- 5:07the digital right now. Another case that settled out
- 5:11recently was the, the, the paraquat case during the
- 5:13bellwether or I guess it was before the bellwether, right?
- 5:15This the trial hadn't started yet, correct.
- 5:17For the audience that doesn't know about that, can you give an
- 5:20update and kind of how that went down and what that means next
- 5:22for that litigation? Yeah.
- 5:23So in the paraquat litigation, we have an MDL with about 6500
- 5:28cases. Then in Philadelphia Court of
- 5:31Common Pleas, that's the next biggest docket, about 1600
- 5:34cases. So this was the third bellwether
- 5:37trial scheduled in Philadelphia. It was a defense pick and it was
- 5:41scheduled to kick off yesterday. We had a snow day, but it's
- 5:44settled. So they're they're settling.
- 5:46That works out. They're settling defense picks
- 5:49right now. That's that's where we're at in
- 5:51this litigation. So, right, the EPA says they're
- 5:54really looking into whether or not paragraph should be banned
- 5:58all together. Probably should.
- 6:00We, we heard, you know, about an MDL settlement for some cases.
- 6:04So there's not much more left in that litigation it seems like
- 6:08besides coming up on a number. So I'd say the windows really
- 6:12short to get more paraquat cases.
- 6:15I I don't see how we have anything but a global settlement
- 6:18or could be inventory, but all the cases will be settled this
- 6:21year. So that's another, you know,
- 6:24good development, but not a huge, huge mass tort, but big
- 6:27numbers on those cases. Serious injuries, obviously,
- 6:30with Parkinson's disease. How long do you think people
- 6:34have left to get new cases? It's tight, three months maybe
- 6:38Max, but you know these cases are hard to get right like
- 6:42they're. Expensive.
- 6:43They're rare. We've been doing the marketing
- 6:45for those cases for years and they're people expected to come
- 6:48in at round out cost and they are not.
- 6:50Or volume. Or volume.
- 6:51The cost is higher, the volume is much lower.
- 6:53Yeah, I think, you know, dozens of cases would be a lot at this
- 6:58point coming in each week. So it's wrapping up.
- 7:01But like I said it it's rare we get a a settlement on defense
- 7:05pick. But being in Philadelphia, it's
- 7:07a great venue for the plaintiffs.
- 7:10They know Joe is there. Yes.
- 7:12Joe Fantiti is in Philly and they don't want to mess it to
- 7:15you. Yes, and you know, everybody
- 7:17else is there now too. We, I think the word's out.
- 7:20So that, that's one that, you know, I, I feel more confident
- 7:25that the paraquat will resolve this year compared to say,
- 7:27social media. What do we got next?
- 7:30Let's see, we have. Let's pivot to roundup.
- 7:33Yeah, so you know, Roundup, we we talked about how the case was
- 7:37taken up right by the Supreme Court.
- 7:39We're going to have a decision before the end of June.
- 7:44Basically what's happening, there is no cases are really
- 7:47going to trial in between now and the Supreme Court decision.
- 7:50You know, the courts are a little reluctant to have a case
- 7:53get all the way worked up, tried on this failure to warrant issue
- 7:57and then the Supreme Court on appeal says it it shouldn't have
- 8:00happened. So they're settling one off
- 8:02cases and if any gets that far, but most of the judges are kind
- 8:07of just slowpoing it to see what happens with this decision.
- 8:11But then after that, right, we're we're going to know what
- 8:14causes of action we can proceed with.
- 8:16There's definitely a lot of fronts.
- 8:18There's the New Jersey State court, there's the MDL with
- 8:21about 4500 cases. Missouri has the center of
- 8:25everything with 40,000 plus cases, Philadelphia.
- 8:29So there's a lot of pressure, but it's kind of on standby.
- 8:33So I don't know if I can call that litigation resolving 100%
- 8:38this year. That was your prediction.
- 8:40I know. So I think we'll have
- 8:42inventories definitely and Bear, you know, they've been saying
- 8:46for years their CEO like we're going to resolve this litigation
- 8:50in 26. So we'll see.
- 8:52But there, there will be some settlements this year.
- 8:55I don't know if it's everybody, but we'll have to really be in a
- 8:58holding pattern for the next 6 months.
- 9:00But time to get cases still. Path to resolution is at least
- 9:04in front of us, right? It's coming.
- 9:06Yeah. You know, Paraquat and Roundup
- 9:08have been just sort of around for a while and people have been
- 9:13interested in it and I think it has led to a lot of the other
- 9:16environmental related litigations that have kind of
- 9:18sprouted up over the past few years.
- 9:21Are there any other environmental type mass torts
- 9:24that are starting to peak your interest?
- 9:26Have you heard like any rumblings?
- 9:28Well, right, we had, you know, like the pee Foss cases.
- 9:32So that's kind of wrapped up a little bit at this point.
- 9:36You know, what I think happens bold prediction in a couple
- 9:39years, what we'll be going back on those cases with different
- 9:41injuries. So right now it's like top six
- 9:44injuries that we're really focused on.
- 9:46But as the science evolves and more comes out, I I think we
- 9:49could have a, you know, a pee Foss round two or something like
- 9:53that, because we're only learning how harmful these
- 9:56chemicals are and they're everywhere, everywhere and all
- 9:59of us in this room, everybody we talked to everywhere we go,
- 10:03they're there. So that and then I, I think some
- 10:07maybe like enzyme cases people are into it's, it's not really a
- 10:12mass tort. It might be.
- 10:14Is that another chemical that's in the water?
- 10:16Yeah, that that's another chemical.
- 10:17It's kind of almost similar to like this asbestos litigation.
- 10:21So there's some firms that are kind of like really focusing
- 10:23that the injuries would be like AML, which is like another rare
- 10:27type of cancer in Philadelphia. We have some cases there, but I,
- 10:31I haven't heard much of other, you know, big kind of
- 10:36environmental mass torch right now, but I think we could have
- 10:39some pockets popping up of these P Foss a triple F cases.
- 10:43What about talc? Right, We talked about talc
- 10:46starting to. We've talked about talc.
- 10:48For years we have talked about talc for years, but I think
- 10:52we're moving forward towards resolution in in talc.
- 10:55What are you hearing right now? Yeah.
- 10:57Well, we we have a trial going on right now in Philadelphia.
- 11:00We had two snow days this week in Philadelphia, Monday and
- 11:02Tuesday. So that's ongoing.
- 11:05I mean, just our past experience with Philadelphia, it's we're
- 11:09probably looking at a very big number coming out of there,
- 11:12right? J&J, they've dug in, they're
- 11:14fighting every turn. But I think it's time, right?
- 11:18And just if you look at the bankruptcy, they were offering 8
- 11:21or 9 billion. So there's been a lot of cases
- 11:24have gotten filed since that bankruptcy stay got lifted.
- 11:27But ultimately we'll probably end up with 80,000 cases.
- 11:31And I think we first start seeing some inventory
- 11:34settlements in that case. I don't think they want to do a
- 11:38global just because it might make the company look weak a
- 11:42little bit. I think that's how some
- 11:44defendants perceive the Globals. And so we'll see some inventory,
- 11:47some of the top firms get knocked off and then eventually
- 11:52this year, that litigation probably winding down too.
- 11:55Hopefully, yes, we would love to see that.
- 11:58So, so if we can get all four of these litigations wind up, you
- 12:01know, everybody would be very. Happy.
- 12:03Yes, there's another trial that's going on right now.
- 12:07We're dealing with the Uber sex abuse.
- 12:08The first trial in the actual MDL is taking place right now.
- 12:12Where where are we currently at in that?
- 12:14I know that there's been a bunch of motions that have happened
- 12:16during the trial. I heard there's some.
- 12:17Crazy stuff that happened last week and we're us following
- 12:19around with the news so. Yeah.
- 12:21So we're, you know, about two weeks into it, I guess there was
- 12:25an issue about a, a prior complaint being made about the
- 12:28driver at issue here. So the, the judge wasn't pleased
- 12:33with maybe that being brought up.
- 12:35So that was certainly an issue, but that trial should be
- 12:38wrapping up here shortly if it's not the end of this week,
- 12:41certainly by the end of next week.
- 12:43And again, if you remember in the state court proceeding, they
- 12:47they found that Uber was negligent, but there wasn't that
- 12:51causal connection with the injury of the plaintiff.
- 12:54So are we going to be able to prove that in this case that's
- 12:57going to be decided by the jury. You know, the facts are a little
- 12:59bit stronger. We have the road map, but it
- 13:03doesn't look like Uber's interested in in a global right
- 13:06now. So I could see regardless of the
- 13:08outcome, even if we win, Uber digs in and and tries to come
- 13:12back for another trial, win that one to knock down, knock down
- 13:16the value of those cases. But right, is there a lift
- 13:19litigation that's picking? Up.
- 13:20They're consolidating that, right?
- 13:22They did. Did they actually announce that?
- 13:24They are? I know it was up.
- 13:26They. Apply for a consolidation.
- 13:27Yeah. I'm, I'm not 100% sure if it's
- 13:29been consolidated yet. I think is there a hearing maybe
- 13:34this month or next month on that?
- 13:36We're live. We're going to Google it.
- 13:39Let's say. As of January 2026, petition
- 13:41remains before the JPML seeking to to centralized federal.
- 13:46It has not been consolidated. Yes, yes, there's a it says 100
- 13:49cases are in a California JCCP. Yeah, so you know it, it's the
- 13:54same road map with Uber, right? We'll have it in California
- 13:58State court. We probably want to go to
- 14:00California federal court. You know they're not going to
- 14:04want to go there. The defendants and then they'll
- 14:07kind of streamline but the the road maps there right with with
- 14:10Uber, we we know what's happened in these cases they're really
- 14:13bad cases, but the issue is whether or not that negligence
- 14:17is what you know, caused these plaintiffs injuries so.
- 14:20Is this a plaintiff bellwether? This case I I believe it is yes.
- 14:24So I mean, we, we need to win this one, right?
- 14:28We have to have a good result. What else do we have going on?
- 14:31There's, I mean, that's, that's a lot of activity for a week.
- 14:35Like that was like more than all the 2025 is going on right now.
- 14:38I think those are all the trials we, you know, we have right now,
- 14:41other litigations people are involved with, right?
- 14:43We have weight loss. We've talked about that hair
- 14:46relaxer, which you know, I really like.
- 14:48Bear Hugger is another one, you know, And then the video game
- 14:53addiction. So just basically 5 trials kind
- 14:56of only going at once. Unheard of.
- 14:58Ms. Torts, we'd be lucky to get 2 trials a year.
- 15:01Where is Roblox at right now? There's been a little bit of a
- 15:04buzz about it at the conference. Yeah.
- 15:06So that just got consolidated. The initial case management
- 15:11conference was supposed to be this week.
- 15:13I know a lot of the the firms that are going for leadership
- 15:16have trials, whether it's Lanier or the firms involved in Uber.
- 15:20So basically we're in that initial six months phase of an
- 15:24MDL where they meet with the judge, they applied for
- 15:27leadership, they come to an agreement, so on ediscovery,
- 15:31kind of the framework for some of the case management orders.
- 15:34And then after that is when it will really pick up.
- 15:36So you know, it's going to be a little bit of time on that one,
- 15:39but I don't think that's going to be this 10,000 plus MDL,
- 15:43right? And then one other case we're
- 15:44going to talk about is Depo, right?
- 15:46That's another one that is on this kind of rocket docket.
- 15:50We've never seen a mass tour really move this fast.
- 15:53So we could have a trial here later in 26, which would really
- 15:57be unheard of. So just you know, think how long
- 16:00it took us to get to trial in in some of these other cases like a
- 16:04Paragard it, but we actually have that trial going on too
- 16:08now. But it took us six years to get
- 16:11the trial in Paragard, where in Depo it's going to be about two
- 16:14years. What's the reasoning?
- 16:16It's the judge is a main component of it.
- 16:19So, right, it was Judge Rogers that we had in three M who
- 16:24learned a lot, right, 300,000 case docket one of the biggest
- 16:28ever. So becoming efficient with that.
- 16:31And then we did kind of this initial test group right off the
- 16:35bat. And so that got these individual
- 16:37cases worked up like bellwethers.
- 16:39So we, the plaintiffs want to use that as a road map going
- 16:43forward. You know said these cases can
- 16:46get to trial in two to three years after the MDL's formed
- 16:50instead of 5-6 years like we're saying in Paragard right now,
- 16:53all. Right, Well, that's a lot going
- 16:55on in the world of mass torts. Real quick updates.
- 16:57What's the buzz at the conference right now?
- 17:00You're usually a man of the people.
- 17:01You get to know, listen in and hear what's going on.
- 17:03You get all the hot gossip. What's going on at NTL?
- 17:06Yeah, I, I think people are excited about talc, right?
- 17:09People think that's going to settle there.
- 17:11There's some momentum, the numbers.
- 17:13Finally getting that money back out.
- 17:15Yeah, and, and numbers should be, you know, decent hopefully
- 17:19to compensate some of these victims that are really hurt.
- 17:22And then I think the, you know, the next biggest buzz is, is
- 17:25going to be on the social media, right.
- 17:27Everybody wants to hear how that turns out and how to get
- 17:30involved. Yeah, that one, I'm, I'm very
- 17:32much looking forward to seeing what happens there this week,
- 17:36kicking off in California. I think we might even be going
- 17:38out to California. Yeah.
- 17:40We might cover it live from the courtroom.
- 17:43We're we're working on it. Or outside the outside the
- 17:45courthouse, not the courtroom. OK, as close as we could
- 17:48possibly get. We'll see.
- 17:49We're texting with our connections.
- 17:51All right, good. Well, I'll TuneIn.
- 17:53I'll TuneIn for sure. So outside of mass torts, right,
- 17:56What was Joe Fantini's dinner selection last night?
- 18:00You were you were hyping up Miami food scene.
- 18:02Yeah, well, I went to this Italian place, I think it's
- 18:06called Mercada, and it was on this really awesome street where
- 18:10there are a lot of restaurants and you can kind of like walk
- 18:13down the without any cars. So that was good.
- 18:16And then I went to this other place the night before it called
- 18:19A Stubborn Seed, which is a Michelin star place, and it was
- 18:24amazing. It was one of the best I've
- 18:26seen. So yeah, the food's really good.
- 18:28Miami's great. I think the West hotels an
- 18:31upgrade over Fountain Blue. No disrespect to Fountain Blue.
- 18:34I personally hated the fountain blue.
- 18:35I thought it was a dump. Well, that's Mark, not Joe.
- 18:38Joe says. It's nice if you guys want to
- 18:40invite me back, but they they have a very nice bar at the.
- 18:44Fountain blue they do. The lobby bar was excellent.
- 18:47I will say Fab Blue live bar was much better but the rooms were
- 18:52way louder and not as nice. My room was well, actually they
- 18:57sold out of rooms here at the Lowe's, so we're staying across
- 18:59the street at the Hyatt. Who's who's kind of loud over at
- 19:01the Hyatt last night? But it's nice here, and I think
- 19:05this is a good conference. It was busy, right?
- 19:07A lot of people here. Surprisingly so, right?
- 19:09Like with Snowpocalypse going on, you made it out early.
- 19:13I've talked to a lot of people who either made it out early or
- 19:15showed up late last night or early this morning.
- 19:18Very well attended. I mean, even yesterday during
- 19:20the day we were walking around. There were a ton of people at
- 19:23the opening event last night for a couple hours.
- 19:26The whole thing was packed. This is one of our favorite
- 19:28conferences of the year. Let's say this one PILMA is
- 19:31pretty good and then the MTM PS are like the big circuit where
- 19:36where we just see a lot of good attendance.
- 19:38Yeah, we'll see. Hopefully MTP in the spring is
- 19:40well attended, has some good energy.
- 19:41The Fall 1 was a little YEAH muted this year.
- 19:44And, and I, I think it will, right, like a lot of firms might
- 19:49be coming into some money this year with some cases settling,
- 19:53whether you know, people are getting C pap or some Zantac or
- 19:57some hernia mesh money, there's going to be a lot of momentum
- 20:00building. And then if we can score some
- 20:01victories and 7580% of these trials, I think mass toward in
- 20:06the spring is going to be really busy, complete opposite of what
- 20:10we saw at the end of the year last year because it was slow,
- 20:12people were scared. We're a little tight.
- 20:14Yeah, yeah. Do do you think any of like the
- 20:17the macro issues going on in the country right now, like
- 20:20politically at all, are going to affect what we're doing on the
- 20:23plaintiff side? Well, I mean, they, it impacts,
- 20:26right, the Supreme Court like that case getting taken up
- 20:28originally when they're appealed with the prior administration,
- 20:32with Biden, the minute solicitor general said don't take up the
- 20:35case and the Supreme Court decided not to this time around,
- 20:39the ministration said, yeah, dude, take it up.
- 20:41And, and they did usually they follow 7080% what the solicitor
- 20:45general recommends. And then also the huge one that
- 20:48we didn't talk about Tylenol like is that, is that, is that
- 20:52case going to come back? We, we could have a decision
- 20:55likely before mass tort made perfect.
- 20:57So if that case is back, it's going to be a lot of excitement,
- 21:01a lot of people that were trying to help.
- 21:04Did the administration seems to favor that trial starting up
- 21:07again? Yeah.
- 21:08So that's that's that's what's kind of unique is right.
- 21:11It's they seem against us a roundup.
- 21:13They seem so for us in Tylenol. So that that's a maybe how the
- 21:18politics I play into it. But I think with any
- 21:21administration, some are going to be in our favor, some
- 21:24against. I'm hoping for some momentum.
- 21:26Like I said in the spring, I think Master Made Perfect will
- 21:29be good and what we'll get a lot of excitement.
- 21:32Another one is Masterworks Puerto Rico.
- 21:34I think could be we heard a lot of people talking about that
- 21:37one. This year, yeah, I've attended a
- 21:39couple times, little more intimate, little smaller.
- 21:43Definitely the the top, top tier firms are there that that's
- 21:47usually who's been attended. You know, I would say more focus
- 21:51on leadership firms, not so much getting that education like you
- 21:56do in mass tort made perfect on how to get involved in mass
- 22:00torts, how to work a case. It's it's really the the top
- 22:03tier guys. It's great.
- 22:04I've been a couple times. Maybe I'll go this year.
- 22:07We'll see. I think we're going this year.
- 22:09Well, maybe, maybe I'll go. I know we are looking for a
- 22:13sponsor of the Tortox yacht in Puerto Rico for whoever would
- 22:17like sponsor it. Yeah, maybe I'll, I'll look into
- 22:21that. Here at at NTL, one of the
- 22:25things that Mark was talking about is we took a stroll around
- 22:27the vendor hall was the changing face of the vendors that attend
- 22:32these conferences. And historically it was a lot of
- 22:34service based businesses. You saw a lot of like call
- 22:37centers, medical record retrieval.
- 22:39Some marketing. A bunch of marketing.
- 22:40Agencies. It's all software and AI now.
- 22:45Right. Oh yeah, definitely.
- 22:46And even like to pick up on that five years ago was all about the
- 22:51VAS, right? Oh yeah, it was the.
- 22:53Service based and also who's who's missing a little bit from
- 22:56these conferences is is the the funders right.
- 22:59Their presence at Mass Tort made perfect five years ago, before
- 23:02Camp Lejeune, it was like. Oh yeah, there were humongous
- 23:06booths of like funders, that was, I remember.
- 23:08That and I don't. See any recently?
- 23:10Yeah. So maybe this isn't, you know,
- 23:12the demographic of the firms are looking get involved with, but
- 23:16yeah, it's definitely technology software are are really driving
- 23:20it. Although a lot of the
- 23:21conversations, the good conversations happen outside of
- 23:24that vendor hall, right? It's like, you know, the right
- 23:27people, you connect to the right people.
- 23:28And we were talking to a funder last night.
- 23:30We were talking to, there's a lot that happens outside of of
- 23:35the vendor space. So we've got to record some
- 23:38great podcasts. We just filmed with James Helen
- 23:42from Top Dog we had let go on yesterday.
- 23:46We had Michael Sale from Cordisco and Sale yesterday
- 23:48talking about AI companies. We've got Today Foundation.
- 23:52We've got Eve. Yep, and we're trying to book
- 23:55even up. Yep, if you're watching this, I
- 23:57know you're recording stuff across the hall, but if someone
- 23:59from even up is watching this, feel free to reach out to Emily.
- 24:02We're trying to get somebody books so we can talk about all
- 24:04the great AI solutions. We had some great feedback when
- 24:07we interviewed Jerry Joe from Supio and would love to just
- 24:12kind of continue understanding how the different service
- 24:16providers in our industry are leveraging all the new
- 24:19technology that comes out on like an almost daily basis at
- 24:23this point. This morning, actually, we sat
- 24:25down for coffee at 7:00 AM and Mark brought to coffee and I
- 24:30brought to coffee. Each of us had an idea of
- 24:32something that we wanted to build today.
- 24:34We were just playing around with AI, and that just happens
- 24:37constantly. Like, we'll either build stuff
- 24:38ourselves, we'll kick it to our team, yeah.
- 24:40Yeah, I, I think 2:00 to three years, you know, the legal
- 24:43industry is going to be a lot, a lot different.
- 24:45It's going to be really efficient.
- 24:47It's going to be better for the clients, but the technology's a
- 24:51huge part of it. What else do you want to cover?
- 24:55I think it's a wrap. It's the best 10 minutes in mass
- 24:58torts each week. Has now been the best 24 minutes
- 25:01in mass torts each week. Yep.
- 25:03Joe, thanks so much. As always.
- 25:05I this is great. I think we should do more live
- 25:07stuff. We'll see what the the audience.
- 25:09Says I know you think that we should do more live stuff.
- 25:11I I I enjoy it. I enjoy it too.
- 25:14You can't. Censor me when we do live stuff.
- 25:16That's the reason I get nervous. Cool.
- 25:20All right. Thanks everybody for watching.
- 25:22If you're watching this on the recap, enjoy.
- 25:24And if you're here at the conference, feel free to reach
- 25:27out. Mark and myself, Joe, we're
- 25:29around for the rest of the day. That's a wrap.
