- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30Today, I want to talk to you about taking ownership of
- 0:34yourself. I'm talking a hundred percent
- 0:36ownership of yourself. Your thoughts, your feelings,
- 0:38and your actions. And you may think this is what I
- 0:42do every day and I will challenge you.
- 0:45That you're probably not doing that every day because most of
- 0:48us, don't think about it. And we just are stuck in our
- 0:52little worlds and we operate in our little bubble and we tend to
- 0:57blame other people for how things go well.
- 1:00I wasn't able to do this because of this, or I didn't get there
- 1:03because I had to do this or I wasn't able to get to the gym
- 1:08today because I had to do x, y and z.
- 1:13Well, the truth is, you could have gotten to the gym.
- 1:16If you had taken a hundred percent ownership of the fact
- 1:19that you wanted to get to the gym, could have figured a way
- 1:21out. You could have done a lot of
- 1:24things differently, no doubt. If you had just said in the
- 1:27beginning, I take 100% ownership of this and blank, blank, blank,
- 1:31whatever it is, I promise you, you have more hours in a day
- 1:35than you think, or that you recognize or that you utilize.
- 1:39Let me say, because everybody gets into their habitat.
- 1:43And they function in a certain way that they're used to and in
- 1:48order to change things up, you know, you have to change things
- 1:51up. It's just like when I first
- 1:53started recording this podcast, it's like, oh my gosh, where am
- 1:58I going to fit the time? And for that, that's my very
- 2:00first thought. Where am I going to fit the time
- 2:02in for that? But the truth is, I have the
- 2:05time to do it and I have the time to do the editing.
- 2:08I just have to rearrange my schedule a little bit.
- 2:11I have the time to work out. If I choose to, I have the time
- 2:15to read, if I choose to, I can change my world.
- 2:20If I am taking ownership of myself and I stop putting it on
- 2:25other people and saying, well, they dictate it.
- 2:27Well, I have to do this because of this, or I have to do this, I
- 2:32can't do that because of this. We love to make up stories and
- 2:36excuses about the reasons things don't work well.
- 2:40In reality, it's nice and it makes us feel great for a second
- 2:45that were relieved that it wasn't just us.
- 2:47But the truth is it is always us and we have to go back to saying
- 2:51if it's important and I really want it I have to take ownership
- 2:55of myself and I have to do the work necessary to get where I
- 2:59want to go. Otherwise I'm not going to get
- 3:01where I want to go. Otherwise I'm going to stay
- 3:03right where I am because I've never taken ownership over a
- 3:05situation or myself. And once I'm willing to take
- 3:09ownership over I have to care for it.
- 3:12I have to cultivate it. I have to do the things that are
- 3:15necessary in order to make it different.
- 3:19And that all begins with being 100% responsible for yourself.
- 3:24You know, heard me say it before we are 50%.
- 3:27If we were in relationships with people, we are always 50%
- 3:30responsible for how we show up in those relationships in that
- 3:34sense of shared responsibility. However, we are 100%
- 3:39responsible. Bill for ourselves.
- 3:41Always and we have to be willing to know.
- 3:45And look at ourselves really know yourself.
- 3:48Ask the right questions. Can't not ask the right
- 3:51questions. I mean, whenever we do that kind
- 3:54of stuff, we completely mess ourselves up in the process
- 3:58because we starting off point is the the on, resourceful
- 4:02question. Why did they do this to me?
- 4:06I'm resourceful question. You'll never figure out why they
- 4:08did. It doesn't matter why they did
- 4:10it just dealing with the conditions as what we need to
- 4:12know, hard concept to believe. But it's true and understanding
- 4:18your level of ownership of yourself, is the beginning of
- 4:23unplugging all that other toxic stuff that goes on when you can
- 4:27unplug that and unplug those toxic beliefs that told you
- 4:31back, Providence moves. And all of a sudden you have a
- 4:36completely different view of the world, so, Stop and pause like
- 4:42seriously. Stop and pause and ask yourself
- 4:45the question, am I truly taking ownership of myself of my life
- 4:50of all the things that I have going on in my taking ownership
- 4:53of it? Or am I just passing the buck?
- 4:55Am I just saying, well I can't or it's, you know, it's not,
- 5:00it's not feasible right now. And, you know, I hear this a lot
- 5:03especially when it comes to people saying, well, I want to
- 5:07work on what I want to do over the next year or the next six
- 5:10months. But I can't yet because I have
- 5:13to clean this up first, and boy. Oh boy.
- 5:17That is so limiting because it's not you not taking ownership of
- 5:23the entire vision for yourself. You can say, there's a sequence
- 5:28to it sure. But you can't just say to
- 5:30yourself. Hey, I'm just going to sideline
- 5:32all of this so that I can, you know, complain about what's
- 5:37going on right now and focus on this.
- 5:41These problems right here as opposed to saying, okay, you
- 5:45know what? I take ownership.
- 5:46I got myself here. I'm going to still work on my
- 5:49vision forward and I'm going to work on this one where I am
- 5:52right now. And this is how I'm going to do
- 5:53it. And I'm going to make a plan for
- 5:55here and I'm going to make a plan for out there.
- 5:58And each day I'm going to take ownership of myself and add
- 6:01value to both those columns so that I can get where I want to
- 6:05go. It works, trust me.
- 6:09But the fundamental of it is always come back to owning
- 6:12yourself. You must take ownership of your
- 6:14actions, your thoughts your beliefs.
- 6:17And when you do boy, world will change.
- 6:22Okay? My friends have a great day and
- 6:24I'll see you tomorrow.
