Shamus: We're we're like thirty one, thirty two. Jesus. Herbie: Yeah, there's like five of the Shamus: And yes, we know there was no episode on Monday and for that we apologize. We were out partying and celebrating America's two fifty, it's just like everybody else. Damn right, America. So, but yeah, if you get a chance to listen to booze and tattoos. So also want to give a shout out to the exciting and new podcast, like we do every episode, it seems. They're starting to find out, or they probably knew before us, it's kinda hard to get a guest in in the summertime because everybody's out doing their thing or on vacation or Just don't want to be inside. Sitting here talking to two ugly dudes. So they needed somebody to come up. I went up and we reviewed that movie, Rad, the BMX movie back in the day with Crew Jones and Bart Taylor and my favorite Lori Laughley. yeah. That was the first movie I've ever seen her, dude. And I was like, who the like I ran up to the screen and like put my gun. I was like, Who is that? What is going on? I think Well I I believe so. Herbie: Yeah. Yeah she's still. Yeah, I think that is her first movie, right? Shamus: it was the first thing I saw where I was a kid and I was just like, Holy shit. I told I ran into the kitchen, told my mom I was like, It's over She was like, What? I was like, I found her and she was like, You're eight I was like, I know Most people don't get this lucky. Herbie: Yeah. Like is this love that I'm feeling? Is this the love? Shamus: But in her defense, I would do that like once a month. I saw Sylvia Shepherd for the first time on Moonlighting, I like, There she is Melissa Milano and who's the ball dog. Yeah. You know My mom's like you better get a really good lawyer. Herbie: Really? Nicole Eggert from Charles in Charge. my Lord, sweet Jesus. Linda Carter from Wonder Woman. She's still my number one. I love every time she took those glasses off and did that spin, man. I was like, Wonder Whoopee. yeah, she does. When I saw her on Super Troopers, I was just like, she still has me. my lordy. Shamus: Yeah, she's still looking. no doubt. Yeah, but we talked about Rad. Well, first thing we do was, you know, they do the mini episodes, what we're watching. Yeah. And you know, I just kind of mentioned I finished up I caught up on Tulsa King. I've never seen an episode of Friends. And I kind of started binge watching it. And almost got into a little scuffle up there. Cause I don't know how you guys feel. If anybody listening's ever listened or watched that TV show Friends, yeah. I think Ross is a Herbie: Hehehehehe Shamus: Yeah, I to say yeah, just a just a puss, man. You what I mean? And how he ended up with I mean, I know she's fat, but how he ended up with Jennifer Anderson in the end is absolutely ridiculous. I was so pissed. Dude, I actually got up, like I threw something down on the table and bam, just you gotta be shitting and got up and walked away. I was so sad, dude. I was like, how does she not end up with Joey? Herbie: So like you saw the whole thing. I'm like how many seasons is it? 'cause I know where those Shamus: Yeah. Yeah, I sat and watched all of them. There's a lot of cameos and there's a lot of people like Bruce Willis does Brad Pitts in it. Yeah. I mean I mean Tom Sell like dude, that guy is not only cool in Magnum PI, but that dude is cool in everything. Cause when he showed up on Friends, I was like, Holy moly, that's Tom Sell and like he plays a cool dude in that. Like there was an episode or two where he didn't have the mustache, and I was like, that's kinda like missing somebody from the show. Like when you have the mustache. Yeah. But Herbie: You just seeing it like flip. Shamus: Yeah, just a cool dude. but yeah, I I generally liked Friends, but like the ending dude with Ross and her, I was so fucked. Herbie: Yeah, like get married and stuff, right? They're Shamus: I don't want to talk about it. It should have been her and Joey. And of course, Andy and Dana were like, No, no. And I was like, Yes. So we disagreed on that. and then when it came to Rad, of course, you know, me and Jay loved it and those and they didn't give it high scores. Well they probably didn't. Herbie: Yeah, well Dana they they probably never had like, you road like the morse. I still got my diamond back in the basement. Shamus: I was gonna say I still have my GT. I was a GT guy. yeah. I had a Mach one, I had to Pro Perform. I still have the Mach one because it's a racing setup. Yeah. And then I have you seen the two mountain bikes out there, they're both GTs. yeah, like you said, man, I was mountain bike I I I just well back in the day that's all we had were bikes. So everybody was you know, just whether you use them for transportation or if you're doing tricks on them and stuff like that, everybody had a bike, whether it was a Huffy, yeah, a GT, a monogose, a hutch. Yeah. Herbie: Yeah, GT Pro Performer or what that nice. Shamus: and like you said, endos, ollies, tabletops, cherry pickers, like we were doing all and I got the the scars to prove it. Herbie: Everything. well yeah, dude. I b I was horrible at it, dude. So I was always wiping out all the frickin' time. I was hanging out with older kids, so they were doing all the cool stuff and I had like my first bike I think was a Schwin with the plastic wheels, dude. So it's Shamus: yeah, the bag wheel. Herbie: Yeah, yeah. It was just like these nah not the mags, but this was just like a regular swin bike. It was a blue and white swin bike. And this is like I was like maybe six or seven. Even like, you know, the old days with like freaking the tassels on the handles. okay. How to get them off. But it's just like riding this damn thing and the pla the wheels themselves were plastic. So it was just then Yeah, I got like a Kent bike. It was yellow and blue with like the blue mag wheels and then graduated that to the Diamond back. Silver diamond back. Yeah, it was dope. Shamus: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I had it's like I said, when I watch that movie, it cracks me up 'cause I had like the number plate, I had the brake plate and all that with the numbers and all the you know, the factory stickers and shit on it. and like I said, those movie I think they they kinda look Andy was old enough to drive by that point 'cause he's a little bit older enough. yeah. And Dana obviously isn't into BMX. So I think those guys just kinda looked at it like Yeah. You know? Herbie: Yeah, just totally skipped over it. Shamus: for me and I believe Jay, like to me, like I was that was right up my alley that movie. I mean, there are parts that are a little corny, but you know to me it's That's what I was kinda looking to those guys. Like, this wasn't up for any Oscars or anything. Like, but the guy who directed it also directed Cannonball Run, Cannonball Run 2, Smokey and the Bandit, Hal Needham, who is the goat, he's the Michael Jordan of Stuntman. Which I love that kind of shit, man. I would love to have been a stunt. I should have been a stuntman. That's what I should have. Herbie: When I was a little kid I was thinking about doing that too, man, 'cause I was always like crashing and stuff anyway. I was like, I could probably make a living out of this, 'cause I'm doing it all on my own for free. Shamus: Yeah, once I saw the fall guy as a kid, I was like, I can do that shit. Herbie: What's her face in the Fall Guy show? The blonde chick? my god. I think I shall does she? damn it. Shamus: Heather something. Thomas? Heather. She looks horrible. She had all that plastic surgery. It's it's bad. But yeah, I went up air it's always a good time to go up air and you know, review a movie that I like and they hate. So Herbie: Why do they do that? Well like those freaking things, like those bikes and everything was just like the the the shit 'cause you're Shamus: Iconic, dude. And like I said, that movie is if like guys like the guy who owned the Fun Factory, yeah, Tony Hawk, like all those dudes coming up referenced that as yeah, like an influence on them. And like that thing is a precursor to that pretty much kickstarted the X Games idea. yeah. Into because in that movie, I forget the rider's name. I used to know when he comes out of the cereal bowl during Helltrack and he does that flip. That's never been done before. Like that was the f he was the only person on the planet who could do that on a BMX bike. Mind blown. Yeah. Now they're doing like three or four of them at a time at the X Games. But I mean, like a lot of riders saw that back in the day and they were just kind of like, holy smoke. And now every kid to include myself went down to like the bike part, like with the half ramp and the half pipe and stuff. And we were trying all that shit. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: And it got to the point my mom was just like, Yo, the hospital's bills are really starting to stack up here, dude. Herbie: Because there was even times you actually had to hide some of the major injuries too. You're like, Jesus Christ. no doubt. Yeah. Shamus: I came down on a set of handlebars one time. And I mean, I had a brute my whole chest was bruised. Like I I'm pretty sure my ribs were bru I couldn't sneeze, fart, like without like just total pain. My mom's like, Yeah, my mom's like, What's going on? And my dad would be like, Hey, what's up, buddy? Give you that little tap on the shoulders like, what's up, dude? Herbie: Why you won't? Shamus: So and I was always that guy that would try anything. Yeah. So like, hey man, jump the and like I would jump, but they used to call me the greatest American hero. Even when I graduated to dirt bikes, yeah. I have this awesome picture somewhere, dude, where there's like six of my friends on the ground looking at the camera and I'm right over tabletoped on a dirt bike, pointing at the camera. It looks like some shit you would see in an advertisement at dirt bike magazine. The aftermath, bro. they're like, You're like the greatest American hero, bro. You just fly and then you can't land. Herbie: Like Hot Rod. Remember the movie Hot Rod where he just makes that big jump and he just completely just gets gets destroyed on the land. Shamus: I've never seen it, but man movie. I that was and that's why I kinda stopped doing that shit because I was like, Take it up to the motorcycle shop or the derp like place. And the guy was like, Well, you're gonna need new forks, new rim, the brake line, that's gonna be about thirteen hundred hours. And I was got like shh, we need to slow down with this. Yeah. But yeah, I used to love doing that kind of stuff. And and like I said, that movie is a cult classic now. And definitely it's like I said, it's pretty much the inspiration for the X games. Yeah. And what I I think what they didn't realize was in the beginning of the movie, the first three and a half minutes is nothing but guys doing tricks. Yeah. That's the freestyle part of bikes. BMX is the hell track part. So there's two different factory teams. Like if you're Haro or GT, you have a BMX team and then you have a freestyle team. Yeah. that whole thing was kind of like like an homage to, you know, bicycling and both sides of the ball. Yeah. So Hal Needham wanted to cover freestyling and DMX because what those kids were doing back in the day were just ridiculous. So I gave it a pretty decent score. Those guys trashed it and Jay gave it a decent score. So So I just put that in my little notebook right next to Cobra. I'll remember that. But it's always good to see those guys. and like I said, if you guys like movies, you should give them a listen. Herbie: Yeah. So Yeah, man. Especially that it's summertime now, you know, fourth of July and everything. Having your bike as a kid, riding around the neighborhood and just Shamus: Dude, those movies give me a bad like cause I'm just like I could still do that shit. And I'll just sit there on the couch and I'm looking, I'm like, man, I I can I'll probably over rotate 'cause my big ass head. But I was like, I might be able to, and then I sit there and I'm like, nah. Yeah. I can't get off the couch after leg day anymore. Herbie: Yeah. Or you're reaching for the remote control and you're like A beer bottle catfalls and floor you bend over to pick it up when the recycle like Shamus: Yeah man, I'm not doing that. So how'd you spend your weekend, dude? Herbie: good man like you know the big Bob and Terry had their big fourth it was basically a graduation party fourth of July Shamus: It was the Big Bob's wax carrot fourth of July slash graduation. Herbie: Yeah, they roasted a pig and everything. And you know, Tom was Tom was the Iron Man, man. He was like getting out of that all together. Pig was good. The pool was nice. It was like warm bath water. There was a bunch of people there. Plenty of food, plenty of drink, good nice tunes. And just, you know, camping out in the back and you know, survived with that rain, you know, for like a little bit. Shamus: Yeah, I looked at that pool at one point and there were so many kids in there and I was like, I haven't seen any of these cats go past. Herbie: Yeah, like they weren't like the little water diapers. I'm like they probably made pee pee. Shamus: Yeah, I was like, Yeah, I'm not doing that today. And then all of a sudden I seen this dude come running off the deck and grab this big ass like it was like a black snake or whatever the hell it was. I was like, what the Herbie: Yeah it was a black rat snake crashed a party and everyone freaked out. Shamus: Why are you grabbing that? He just he holds up like, hey everybody, look at his back. I was just kinda like a Scientologist. Next thing I know, kids are taking pictures with it. They're out Herbie: John's John's the Shamus: Yeah, they didn't for all our listeners who were animal lovers such as myself, they actually put it in a box and took it down to the local baseball field and let him go. But man, that was that thing was pretty big. I couldn't believe that dude listen, I'm not afraid of too much. Yeah. They always told us in the military, if you see the wildlife, don't fuck with it, just let it keep going. That dude just like, we're the snake. And just reached out and picked it up, and I was like, Herbie: Well he actually had to because some of the other guys a little bit panicked and was getting ready to grab a shovel to do a samurai decapitation. Shamus: First thing I thought about, I was like, Man, that guy is, you know, the the croc hunter. I was just like, Man, I hope he doesn't get it one day. Like I'm just reaching down to grabbing shit. Herbie: But it was cool though. It a black rat snake so of like you did get like a like a twenty minute photo op with like all the little kids and a lot of other people at the party and then got a nice little golf cart escort ride down to the down to the pits and everything and got relocated so hope. Shamus: probably do I thought it was great when like all the kids who were camping out there they were just like man are we gonna be okay and and they were like yeah we're gonna take it down the street to the baseball field and the guy who grabbed it I don't want to say anybody's name was just like no man you gotta reload take it like ten miles. He'll be back yeah those kids were like Herbie: That's why there was only like four tenths back there. Shamus: I was like, well, that's why I'm not staying here tonight. But yeah, it was a great time. thanks to Bob and Terry and of course Tom for all his great work. I mean, those parties are always it's always a good time. They've calmed down a lot over the years because we've gotten older, but it was good to see everybody. Yeah. had one guy, I I met him once before, but like as soon as I walked up, we started talking and he was like, Here's the voice. At your partner, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I was like What are you talking about? He's like the podcast. And I was like, shit. I'll say, hey, hey, how you doing, buddy? So he picked me up through my voice. Yeah. and as I shook his head, I thought he did say, like, my God, he does have a big fucking head. So but yeah, we love all you guys listening and all the support we get. Yeah. And like I said, we got a lot of love up there, you know, because everybody loves and we're gonna start bringing it back, even though it's not a real business. yeah. Like a lot of people up there who are related to Big Bob. Yeah. Herbie: Yeah. Appreciate it. Shamus: And that's where the party was at the wax carrot because that's what we were doing most of the day, just sitting around waxing carrots. Hell yeah. They were like, Man, we missed that advertisement or you know, that was great. And I'm trying to talk him into doing his own podcast. That'd be cool. The wax carrot pod with Big Bob. Herbie: Would be cool. We definitely gotta have him on the show first. Shamus: we're definitely gonna have him on. Hopefully it will be video by then. Yeah. By August first. But yeah, he's definitely coming in. Herbie: Still gotta get some jam sessions on here too, it'd be cool. So I hope you guys like live music because that's what we're gonna do too. Shamus: We're gonna see if we get some of that. it'd be good to see maybe get him, Steve, Bobby down here. Herbie: Yeah, maybe Salvatore Antonio Bobaletta. Shamus: like Saturday Night Live or you know David Letterman at the end like ladies and gentlemen none like at the end of the show so but yeah it was good to see everybody like I said we we talked to a lot of people who want to come on but they're just so goddamn busy right now but we are there to celebrate America's two fiftieth man and yeah man it was like I said I couldn't for the life of me Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: 'Cause when I was born in seventy seven, like you you grow up and then, you know, people are like, the bicentennial and like I have a license plate in my garage for my dad's car. It's a bicentennial license plate. and then you see the Rocky movie, the bicentennial fight. And like I missed that by a year. and then you see like as you got old, dazed and confused was born in nineteen seventy six and they're just like, Man, that party must have been crazy. Two fifty was pretty good. Yeah man. That's like I said from what I seen. It was it seemed like for one weekend the whole world just kinda came together and just put other bullshit aside. Herbie: Yeah, especially with the World Cup and everything. Everyone's just like chilling. I think that's the type of vibe that we should have, man. Like everyone has pride like all these other people that came from other countries and stuff. They have pride in their own country, but they just they're just not trying to hurt like have any flack or cause any problems with everybody else. They see like, you know, people from Sweden and Mexico's, you know, celebrating with each other, even like the losing team still partying with each other. So why not be able to have like that type of peace around here too, man? Merica. Shamus: I think we I for the majority of it, it's like I said, and like I said, we'll never get political on here. Yeah. And whether you're on the blue side of the ball or the red side of the ball, or just one of those people that just want to be an asshole and stuff like that, you don't have to like who's in charge right now. That's the beauty of voting and all that stuff. Yeah. You don't have to like who's in charge, but you do have to kind of Appreciate what you have here in America and love this country because it is fr from a guy who's been around the world a couple of times and you know, I've seen some shit in different countries and governments. Like, listen, this is the best thing going, regardless of what's going on. I know we have problems and stuff, but this is where you want to be at. And there's a reason why everybody's coming this way or trying to get this way. it's a great, not just a great country, but it's a great belief. Yeah. It's a belief in that You know, together as one we can become a community And I mean, you're always gonna have agitators and stuff like that. And people can have their own beliefs. That's the beauty of this country too. They can do whatever they want. They can burn flags or they can go on TikTok or whatever, like, fuck this country for fuck 250. Yeah. Hey, that's what makes this country great. You can do stuff like that. Yeah. No, hell no. Herbie: Yeah, 'cause other countries don't let you do that stuff. no. I mean it's all cool now, but you know, 'cause everyone's got these rights and stuff. Shamus: Bro, I've been places where women can't even speak unless spoken to. They walk with their heads down behind men. And like I say, you and and being an American soldier or whatever like that, you can't even acknowledge them. Yeah. You get that bitch beheaded. So it's it's crazy. So it's like I said, I love this country. it's the best thing going. And i i I just can't I can't believe it was around for 250. It was so great to see all the fireworks too. Like I watched the ones at the White House. Herbie: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Shamus: I went to the Medford show. Yeah. I was going to try and get down to the Vincent town. You there's one this weekend in your town, right? I was gonna try to get there, but I got two retirement parties I gotta swing by. Yeah. So but yeah, it was really good. And like I said, when you when you go to like a barbecue and stuff like that, I'm that guy that kind of drifts off for a minute and starts to think about, okay, how did we get here? Yeah. And you think about like them dudes, no deodorant, powdered wig. Herbie: Sweat nerve. Shamus: Your ass off fucking ten miles from here. Like you know, d I mean Herbie: Morristown, Trenton, all that stuff, man. Shamus: And it's like I said, that shit happened ten, fifteen miles from here. Yeah. And started with is the greatest country in all the world. And they were just a bunch of fucking farmers and dudes who just left because they didn't want to be taxed. Crazy. Herbie: Yeah. That's the one thing my friends from the UK every time or every fourth of July they always text in a group chat to me and my buddy Paul like happy anniversary traders or happy traders day. It's funny. Shamus: I'll tell you what, man, I'm glad that they I mean because those guys were they were battled, man. yeah. It's like I said, when you read some of them history books about everyone freezing her ass off and all that shit. Like the the morning that they crossed the Delaware, like I think it was the morning after Christmas. Yeah. It was like 10 degrees out there crossing the Delaware to have no clothes and stuff just to fight just for freedom. And yeah. It it's pretty wild, man, how this country was built and the fact that we sit like pretty much right in a palm. Like this is where America is but like Philadelphia was the first capital. Of the United States before they moved to Washington D C. But yeah, man, it's pretty crazy. And every once in a while I still go down there and check out the Liberty Bell. I'll go to, you know, Betsy Ross's house or I go up to City Hall where they Herbie: Yeah. So the old heritage and stuff like that, the old buildings. I mean, you know it's all woods and Shamus: Yeah, some of those some of them streets still there, man, where you can't even get this table down the guy. It's all troublesome and stuff. It's pretty wild, man. And that's another thing I never understood. They were so worried. Like if you watch that movie like The Patriot with Mel Gibson and stuff, they were always so worried about like their powdered wig and all that stuff, but like they never gave a shit about their personal hygiene. Herbie: Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Shamus: Running water. I mean we're building like all these like brick houses and all this stuff like that. Like at the end of the movie where they're rebuilding hairs out. Like you see them putting up the frame and stuff like that. I'm like, how do you guys not put like one and two together to get running water in these places? It's crazy. Yeah. I kinda that's that's another shit I think about. I think about some off the walls. Herbie: Yeah, like seeing the technology and all that stuff, the advancements. I mean everything even if you think about it right now, dude, if we even went outside right in front of your front yard and be like we're hungry, let's go find something to eat, like in that yard, we we we'd be eating frickin' grass and twigs and stuff right now, dude. You know what I mean? Shamus: No doubt. Well I mean tackle that deer that was just out. Herbie: Or yeah, or try to catch it. We have to outfight the turkeys for it. Shamus: No, but it's crazy because if you really think about 250 years ago wasn't a long time. No. And for America to come from that to like what was New York City looking like in seventeen seventy six and now what you see now, like how long did it take to put up the freedom tower? Three, four years? Herbie: Yeah, woods. Yeah. yeah. Shamus: Yeah, that's what modern technology you know how long it would t how long it takes to do the Empire State building? Eight, nine years? So back in the day, man, it was just crazy. Like Herbie: Yeah. Architecture and stuff too. I love it. 'Cause they bring they they if you really notice like a lot of the buildings they bring back a lot of the old like Roman columns architecture and stuff like that too. So they you know Shamus: Yeah, the shit that they built is still Yeah. It's a shame because like when you go through certain parts of Philadelphia, like the old row homes, so my buddy lives down in South Philly, like right around that area. And when you look up, you can see like the all the old wood trim and stuff on the row homes that connect and like each where it ends is like a block with like a gargoyle or something like that and stuff. And you could see where they're kinda start like some pe in rough areas they just kind of fucking fall apart. But like in the newer areas, 'cause there's like this huge movement down there. Where they're restor like homes in Philadelphia are like three hundred grand there. Like my my where my buddy lives, I was like, You're a shit mean. He was like, No, dude. Yeah. I was like, What and he's like ten blocks from Geno's and Pat's So I was like, Man, get the f like what do they call The hipsters? Like all these hipsters are buying and fixing up. Yeah. And he said, the house across the street from went for like three twenty five. I'm like, it's a fucking row home. And he was like, Yeah. So but like if you look at like you said, all Herbie: Yeah, restore. geez. Shamus: the one bank in Philadelphia just reopened. the architecture in that place when you walk in is just crazy that they were You just kinda wonder how they got all that shit done. But that's what men were men. Herbie: And everything is like Jesus Christ man. Yeah. And the logistics just to bring the stone to the frickin' place, man. All that crap wasn't there. Marble and everything. Even that table that you're putting together, dude, that thing is Shamus: Yeah, that probably came from like Afghanistan or something 'cause that's what they're known for. Granite, marble, and all that stuff like that. a lot of people don't know that. But but yeah, it's kind of crazy to think and just for them to get together and start let's start a country. Yeah. We'll come over here, we'll just write this shit, we'll Yeah. And for them to know, like there's a great part in that movie with honors with Joe Pesce where he Herbie: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Shamus: gives that lecture to the teacher. And he's like, you know, the beauty of the constitution is they knew they didn't know everything. And that, you know, they were going to make mistakes and it leaves it open to be fixed. And, you know, it doesn't trust the president. It doesn't do and I was just kind of like, man, that's one of the greatest speeches in movie history. And and for those guys to know that back in 1776 or whatever, going, Hey man, we're we might fuck this up. So let's leave a window hoop. So these guys can fix it, man. It's pretty wild, man. They were pretty pretty smart dudes. Herbie: Yeah, to be Shamus: I mean, I don't know how smart you can be when you're flying a kite with a key on it in an electric storm. But I mean he did invent electricity because of it. Herbie: Well not only that too, man, like they didn't really have like clean water. You had to get loaded on like beer and wine or watered down mead and stuff like that. So everyone's tuned up all the time because regular regular water was dirty. Drinking all the time, man, you're gonna come up with some crazy ass ideas and invent some shit, man. Shamus: I have wooden teeth and shit. I love that picture. It's like the historical picture of them signing the decorate. And you Ben Franklin sitting in the chair and all that stuff like that. And I'm thinking to myself, that's July 4th in Philadelphia. And those dudes are all wearing wool shit. Yeah. Like them dudes gotta be sweating. That room probably smells like straight ass. Yup. That's what I'm saying. Some crock fat soup shit going on there, brother. Herbie: And no A C bro. Yep. Yup. And onions. Smells like colonial salami. Shamus: Well God bless man. It's like I said, it's those guys were marked as traitors and started what turned out to be the greatest country in all the world, man. Herbie: We got DoorDash and all this stuff now. Yeah. Let's see what we do with it. Yeah, like what let's see like the next 250 years what we do with this, man, you know? Shamus: Yeah. I I unfortunately, well maybe fortunately, I won't be around to see it. I'm getting tired. I don't know if I can do another two fifty. This first fifty's getting to me already, but I did see the Philadelphia buried the two hundred and fiftieth time capsule. really? To be opened, I guess, in another two fifty. that's cool. So when America's five hundred years old, they're gonna open that up. Herbie: Yeah. Hopefully we'll have flying cars by then maybe. I don't know. Robots. Yeah. Shamus: Like I said, I won't be around to see it. Unless they you know, in twenty years they were like, we can cry or freeze you like in that movie Devolition man and we'll figure out what's wrong with or Herbie: Knowing our luck that we'll wake up to idiocracy or some shit like, Jesus Christ. We can't grow crops because we're throwing soda on it. Shamus: What do you mean there's a dry planet? What's a guy doing I do and get a drink around here? What are the three C cells for? Herbie: yeah, right? It's evolution. Shamus: well one good thing is I did have my follow-up appointment for my physical that captain and I'm gonna mention it again. It's it's called a captain's gift. It's available to all law enforcement. It's from the Cardio Pulmonary Association through Virtua. You go on there, just type in captainsgift.com. they give you a free like you just show them your insurance card. You don't have to pay to copay or any of that stuff. You just walk in. you gotta make an appointment, obviously. Yeah. There's one in Newark, Paramus Voorhees, and I forget where the other one is. I'll get the information for everybody. But you walk in and they do everything. They do circulatory, they do nerves, they do respiratory, they do it's like I said, they had me on a treadmill, like my big ass with a tube in my mouth, all these cords hooked to me and I was running. in the next room you go in, you blow in the tube like when you were a little kid, blow until you can't blow anymore, and then you do this breathing thing and Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: and then they did another thing where they had me all gelled up in the chest and they stuck this what did they call it ultrasound thing on and they're checking my heart. Herbie: like an echocardiogram. Yeah. Shamus: Then they sent me I did have to pay for this part. They sent me to a CAT scan for my heart for plaque or calcium or something like that. went on Tuesday and they said I am all good. they said I am really actually healthy. They say I could stand to lose a couple of pounds. But other than that, there there's no plaque buildup. everything's good. Circulatory system's good, my respiratory's good. Yeah, everything was pretty much on point. They said my blood pressure's a little high, but that'll drop if I lose weight. So Herbie: Good. Yeah. Shamus: And I gotta do a follow-up my doctor because they were because I don't wanna do the Wagovi thing. But they said, you know, you might want to do blood pressure medication until you get it down a little bit. And I was like, is it that bad? They're like, you're kinda on that border where we wanna put you on So I gotta go talk to my other doctor. But other than that, man, I gotta clean bill of hell. So if you're law enforcement, any kind of first responder, EMT, firefighter, police, transit cop or whatever, man, do yourself a favor and get that shit done. Herbie: Yeah. But we don't. Yeah. Even if you're not, man, just stay you know, just Shamus: It's like I said, it's free and they do everything. They checked my blood level. They told me what my cholesterol was. Yeah. if I had any like can like if your white cells are they'll tell you if it may be cancer. They check my pancreat like everything, pancreatic stuff and Yeah, man. So I'm good to go for at least another two years. If you could do it every year, but they they tell you if you're good to go, just come back every two years. Yeah. So I'm good until I'm fifty one. Herbie: Well yeah, man. Well still you could that that means you could celebrate with more butt light limes that we've getting into. Some more barbecuing. Cranking tunes. And you know, people at home too, like, you know, have enjoy your enjoy your time with the, you know, July weather and doing the barbecues and stuff. But like, you know, Seamus is right, you know, look after your health too. Shamus: Yeah, man. Yeah. And like I said, I might not be able to see five hundred, but I'm hopefully get to two seventy five. America two seventy five. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: I don't know. Maybe they kinda it just depends on what the AI shit does, man. I'm kinda freaked out. Herbie: No, that was I'm on a laser gun. Want a forty one pulse rifle? Or like a phase plasma rifle with a 40 watt range. You know, something like that. Yeah. Or that predator shoulder cannon, the plasma caster, that'd be freaking sweet. It's all nerd stuff. Shamus: I have no idea what it does. No. I guess I'll give you guys an update before we hit the mailbag on our v jump to video here shortly. tables are being built. Countertops come in tomorrow to be put on and stuff. We're gonna start assembling the stage hopefully sometime this week. We're gonna do some painting. props are coming in. All my my evil army of action figures and all that stuff are coming in. I got my Cobra movie poster in today. Herbie: Yeah, yeah, figure it out. Ha ha ha. Shamus: So yeah, we're we're getting there slowly but surely. We're hoping to go to video first week in August sometime. we're gonna do a couple dry runs and then see how it goes and then we'll let it rip Tate or Chip. We're gonna do an episode where we just kind of let everybody know what's going on, probably talk about the set. Yeah, and then we're just gonna we're gonna start scheduling guests again, man. We're gonna start getting people in here and start having a good time and learning some stuff, man. Because that's one thing about the mailbag. A lot of people were just like, dude. And one one person kinda hit on it, like, yeah, I know it's kind of hard to get people in, but man, I love when you guys have guests because it's amazing. And I think I wrote it down, I'll read it. He was like, It's amazing the information that you're able to pull from these people and provide for us. Yeah. So and it's good to hear other people tell their stories and stuff like that. Yeah, and in a good way too. So we're gonna we're getting there. Herbie: Educational. It's educational but bare, you know. Shamus: Yes, sir. we're gonna have to modify a couple things. I don't know if we're gonna be able to use these arms. okay. I mean, we'll have to get that, we'll use them, but like we'll have to get like the lower settings or whatever. Or we might just go wireless. I'm not sure yet. but that's all stuff we have to work out on our end. But we're getting there, people. We are getting there. So we're gonna keep this actually not too short. We'll keep it about 45 minutes today. So we'll do some mailbag stuff. we haven't done this in a while. That's right. We have a mailbag. Herbie: Wait, or Shamus: Yeah And we actually have a new where the hell's my phone? There it is. We have I'll I'll list it at the end. I'll find it while I'm doing it. But we do have a new mailing address for our mailbag. It's a pretty cool one too. I tried like Pork Roll Nation, but they somebody took it already to bag. Basters. Herbie: Yeah. Like a lot of people like pork roll egg and cheese sandwiches. Shamus: It's actually Team Porkroll two five at gmail dot com is our new mailbag. I'll put it up on the website or like I'm probably gonna build a website too here in the summer because I'm bored. So but I'll put it up on our Facebook and Instagram and you guys can send everything there. So no more instant messaging me, no more texting me. I mean you guys can still do that and I'll add it, but there's a place you can specifically go for that and I'll list it again at the end. All right, let's see. First one. Herbie: Nice. Shamus: I pulled from the mailbag was Timmy from South Carolina writes, I'm a huge fan of the show and love the chemistry you two have. Seems like Seamus has a bad taste in his mouth when it comes to his career. See Badges and Dreams episode. I guess that's what he's referring to. Yeah. I too am law enforcement and just starting out. So my question is for Seamus. How do I avoid this? Hating my job. Any tips would be helpful and keep up the great work, fellas. I don't think Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: If you're in law enforcement, that's something you really I mean, obviously you're there to serve people. Yeah. to help people. So you have a calling. and you also have a responsibility to the community that you work. I don't know if you're corrections or police officer, but you do have a once you take that oath, you have responsibility to your community, your fellow officers and anybody that's in your area that you need to protect. Like if you're assigned to a certain patrol area, that's your area, yeah. That's you that's you, man. You're responsible for those people. Like I said, I was in corrections, so I was responsible for certain sections of jail if I was there, or if I had my own unit, a housing unit or whatever, I was responsible for those people there. and it's not I I didn't I didn't hate it up until about our our situation was a bit different because after year ten or eleven, like the suits took over. Yeah. And of course the world is starting to see now. Like Mount Halley had to cancel their Fourth of July thing because they were worried about juveniles. Maple Shades Carnival got overrun. they're having a big problem down at Wildwood with all these kids and there's a curfew now and stuff. That's because of the shit that happened at my job ten, eleven years ago. eleven or twelve years in. there's this program and I don't wanna lean because I don't want any people like, I'm gonna tell. And there was this program, these people came in and just like, we need to start coddling these kids. We don't need juvenile detention centers, we don't need, you know, lock these kids up and dah dah da. And now they're seeing that, yeah, maybe you do. Cause you have no like parents can't control these kids. I'm not saying you have to lock every kid up, but you they do need to be held responsible for what they do. Yeah. like we did when we were kids and we turned out fine. Yes. You have to be accountable. so so that's what I started hating about the job is the fact that they literally came in, looked at Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: For the lack of a better term, inmates they were called residents. They would look at those guys and they took their word over everything that we said when there was a problem, or they looked at us like we were just coming to work to beat the shit out of these dudes or females. And that wasn't the case at all because I used to love going to work and being able to talk to these kids and maybe mentor. And they always said, if you can help one or two, you've done something. And I would like to think that I did that. But they kind of took all that out of our hands. and that's why I hated it. I didn't hate the job if. When suits get involved, you'll start to hate it. I I did enjoy the people. I did enjoy, you know, doing that part of it. I just hated the politics of it. So and I think you'll get there too, bud. just can't let them grind you down. Just make just just think to yourself that you're doing a good thing. Yeah. If you believe in your heart that that's what you want to do and and you're doing good, you'll be all right, man. You'll get through it. And by all means, just stay safe on the job, man. And I wish you all the best. Make sure you send us another email down the road and let us know how you're doing. And Like I said, you'll be a different person when it's all over. But it might be for the better, it might be for the worse. So and don't hate it because I hate it. My my situation, it could be different for everybody. Herbie: Yeah. That's like the politics with every job, you know what I mean? Sometimes you either after a while it almost feels like it it it inhi it inhibit inhibits you f for doing your job better. So I that could be also a frustration there too. Shamus: Here's here's here's how I'll put it in layman's terms. When you're in the army, when you're getting orders from a tent fifty miles away if you're on a battlefield and stuff like that, you're kinda like But when you look over and the fucking commander standing next to you and you just like, This is what we're doing, boys, and you're like, Yeah That's a shit that that was a problem with us because everybody, all the suits and all that shit were making fucking decisions up in Trenton or somewhere else and they Herbie: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Shamus: No boots on ground. That's what we used to call it all the time. They have no idea what's really going on here. Everybody's looking at a stat sheet and they're going, this is this is great. But meanwhile, the dumpster's fifty miles this way and it's a big ass fire going on. And they never care. I thought they never cared about us. So and there were certain people that wore gold badges there that didn't either. And that kind of That's why I'm kind of skeptical about going to somebody's retirement parties this weekend because some shit gets said. I've been out long enough now, I'm like, Herbie: He's Shamus: We can go talk about this now outside if you want. Yeah. Like so yeah, it's like I said, I I did enjoy that job up until about eleven, twelve years in and then once you're in that far, I loved all the people I worked with. I just hate the politics of it. All right. Question number two. How is it possible that a podcast who does a Star Wars May the Fourth special, along with all the other Star Wars shit Herbie rambles on about, totally forgets totally forgets to mention Darth Vader as a top movie day on your Father's Day episode. Herbie: That's a boy, yeah. Yeah. Shamus: I went back and listened, we missed that too. Yeah. Force is not strong with you at all. Michael from Borden Town. Herbie: man Yeah, you're right, Mike. Yeah, I didn't even yeah, well I went back and cut off his son's hand, man. He was redeemed, man. Shamus: How the fuck do we but he did save his life? There's no way. I went and listened to it the other day at the gym and I was just like, holy smok. Herbie: Both right. You know what it's cause like I said, we all do this on like first take and like especially when it comes to Star Wars fans, you know everybody likes to throw in their their little f fact two checks in and you know, all in the same time and everything. So I mean like I could go back and and add some other things. I've I've listened to our podcast about certain stuff like man, I forgot about this or that because like I said, we we do it like first take. And that's it. So we don't really get a chance to revisit or like, you know, practice this thing. But you you are you that's a valid point, man. Shamus: He might have been the same guy who wrote in. I didn't put it on this shit, but they were just like, How the fuck do you idiots not know where Mount Rushmore is? Herbie: I don't know. Shamus: Yeah, make no mistake about it. I bought this up on the new and exciting plot. Not all these emails are positive. Her mailbag has some hate. And it's not just for Steve and junk mail. Herbie: yeah. yeah. It's awesome. Shamus: There's not a lot of people out there like cops, so that's I'll leave it at that. Herbie: Or think I'm like sexually attracted to Yoda. Shamus: Yeah, they want to know how Yoda dictates her. Herbie: Green yogurt. Shamus: For all you people that didn't hear the new and exciting, we had a person you know actually send something to our mailbag. They're like, man, Herbie's such a goddamn Star Wars geek, I can't fucking believe it. Ask him how yo dis dick taste. And of course me being me, I just responded, all right, next time I see him I'll ask Herbie: Like green jello. That was funny though, it was hilarious when I heard that. I like, Jesus Christ. Shamus: Jesus Christ. What the hell is that the shamrock shake? Herbie: Almost get some of that in your eye. Yeah. Good job he did. Shamus: Jedi knows not these things, bitch. Alright, the next one. God is hot in here. I kinds of cool was an awesome episode and you guys are right. There are so many people you could put on there. Yeah. I was just wondering though, why no musicians? Keep dropping pods and I'll keep picking them up. Sarah from Asbury Park. Herbie: No, actually we can revisit that 'cause it's definitely I think Ozzy's like one of the cool like Shamus: Well I think if I remember because that was a couple episodes, that was a while ago. I think we kind of sat down before we did it and discussed like every musician you know is I mean slash Jesus Christ. There's so many cool d Scott Wyland when he was in line like there's so many cool Herbie: yeah. Yeah I know, right? Yeah. That live the rock side Shamus: I mean like if you're a musician you're pretty much a cool dude anyway. Herbie: Especially you're like a in a good band and you're the front man, yeah, you're you're pretty much that Mount Rushmore's gonna become like Shamus: I was gonna say they probably need their own Mount Rushmore and it needs to be the size of the Appalachian Mountains. I mean, those dudes, I mean, Christ, there are so many cool goddamn rock stars out there. I mean, that's why they're called rock stars. Herbie: So I will definitely say Ozzy because I was I was glad like my one buddy from Scotland was actually got to see the last concert in in Birmingham. Shamus: Let's do that real quick. Just give me four. Right off the top of your head. I got the cooler of rock rock guys. Herbie: Ozzy slash sorry. Jesus. God, now you caught me. Rock. I would actually still say from the Stones, man. Shamus: Mick or Keith? Herbie: Keith. Definitely Keith, man. It's just like he's just a badass. He won't. He's a mort he's an immortal, man. Shamus: fucking guy won't die. Who'd have thought he'd outlive Chuck Norty? Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: Fucking crazy. Herbie: Well, go ahead, look give me yours, cause I still got a thing of mine. Right? There's so many. Shamus: I'm gonna go with Tommy Lee, Ace Freely. Scott Wyland. And Jimmy Page. Herbie: yeah. Shamus: I mean I just off the top of my head there's probably a ton of other guys. I mean I can name everybody like Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: Anthony Keatus from the Red Hot Chili Pet Flea. I mean, there's so many of them. Yeah. So Brittley Roth one in his prime. Not Herbie: Yeah. Jimmy Hendrix. Yeah, in his prime put in his prime. yeah, definitely. Jimi Hendrix. Yeah. Shamus: Rice. Yeah, Hendricks was another one. I mean, then there's some guys that just guys like Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, those guys just walk in and Yeah and they j I mean, Prince was another dude that just raked of cool. So Herbie: Just jam and that's it. yeah. Yeah, well the prints is like one of my yeah. But I a lot of times I try to like not try to repeat the ones I said because I'm about prints and stuff. So I try to like new ones. Cause like you said, like and that's a great question that that she asked. But yeah, there's so many icons in music. Shamus: I won't have go back and revisit that. Maybe we'll do like a rock episode or something like that. That would be pretty cool. All right. Number four. Excuse me. Sup, fellas. Love this show and hoping one day to be on it. Keep up the great work. I know Seamus lives in Medford. So did you hear about the morons driving around shooting kids with warbies? Thanks to your show. I knew what it was. So thank you for that. Gonna try write in more. Keep enjoying your summer. Gary from Medford. Nice. Did you hear about that? No. I did hear about that. I think it was last week. It was before the fourth of July. these dudes, it was a black. It's funny because I actually passed the car on the way to the wax carrot factory. it was a black Grand Cherokee with the back window had like a, you know, plastic trash bag. Yeah. You know, the redneck window fix. they were driving around shooting kids on bikes with Orbees. There was three of them. Herbie: No. really? Yeah. Shamus: I guess they were high school kids or whatever. And I mean they must have tagged up a lot 'cause there was like twenty-five calls to the police department from different areas and they ended up getting them later on that night. yeah, they were shooting kids with Orbies. And I was like, Man, I hope those assholes had listened to this pod and were like, Hey man, let's go get some Orbies up a quick shot. But yeah, they got caught. So I think they're they charged them with assault, all three of them with assault. So pretty wild. Herbie: Yeah. What? Geez. Yeah. Shamus: But apparently he knows what Orbees are because of paintballing. our buddy and our buddy came in. Herbie: I was like, challenge. Shamus: You'll have to bring that over and show me what the fuck it looks like because I have no idea what you're talking about. But yeah, if it wasn't for Elvin, he wouldn't know what Orbies are. So big shout out to Elvin and quick shot, paintball and what was it? Airsoft? Yeah. Paintball and airsoft. Right up on two six. Make sure you go see him. Don't shoot kids. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: All right, next one. I don't think there's a question. This is more of a statement. Dude, cauliflower and jerk offs. Way too funny. And I love this shit. Keep pumping them out, boys. Marcus from Shy Town. no, Chicago's Herbie: Thanks man. Yeah bro, don't t you know, don't trust cauliflower, man. Swear to God. Just it is mad. Shamus: I had somebody come up to me and ask me, like, where the f where do you guys come up with this shit? It's like I never knew I had to trust cauliflower So they didn't either until the other day. Herbie: Yeah. It's weird though, man. It doesn't freak it. It's an albino. It looks like a brain. Ugh. And pulp and orange juice is the Antichrist, I swear. Then grapefruit. Shamus: I almost did that. I was shopping yesterday. Almost it said I noticed it says some pulp. It's like I wonder if that'll piss some. Herbie: Yeah. I'm off. Yep. Not me. Or X it even says extra pulp. I'm like, nah, I'm good. Yeah, dude, might as well just eat an orange, dude. That's it. I'll do I'll eat an orange. I'm not drinking freaking like frappate orange. It's nasty. Yeah, that's how I that's how you roll, man. That's how you do it. Shamus: You might as well just jam an orange in there. I did buy regular no pulp, so All right, the last one we got here is says, Thank God. A show you can actually sit and listen to where you can listen and not have to worry about changing or turning it off because somebody wants to talk politics, religion, or some other click paint bullshit. Love the dynamic, love your chemistry, and the inner ma information you're able to get from your guests. Started listening when I came across your tint and feva episode, and I'm hooked. Want to go back and listen to all your episodes, but keep the new ones coming. Dean from Warminster. I'll tell you what, that was a good episode to jump in on, man. My buddy Pauly from England. Herbie: Dude, nice, nice team. Yeah. So especially with the World Cup and everything going on now, man. It's just like I'm hoping it just like you know brings a lot of like you know, soccer back into you know, the fold for everybody. You know, it's still a cool sport. I mean it's not you know, of course not America's sport, but you know, start getting into it, man. Hell yeah. Yeah, but light limes, man. Shamus: Yeah, we drank a lot of beers that night, man. That was the night you figured out you love bus like So the USA got knocked out, right? Herbie: Yeah. Columbia lost too. Shamus: Mm yeah, I I haven't been following it at all. I'm not a big soccer guy. But like you it's amaz that's another thing great about this country, man. it's amazing like soccer's not really big in America, but when something like that comes here, everybody gets involved. Like it and like you said, every I'm sure there's probably G Eagles Giants games, there's always fights in a park lot or something like that. But I mean for the most part it looks like everybody's having a really good time. A lot of countries are, you know, enjoying their time here in America and all that stuff like that. And like the sportsmanship seems like it's going pretty well. So that's what I've seen though. I haven't been really following. Herbie: That's what we need though, man. We need like songs and shit, man. Like it even like if you notice now, man, there's a lot of stadiums in the States that don't even do like, you know, the the wave and all that stuff. Everyone's like, you know, like that like no one gets into it anymore, man. It's either like everyone's every ch you're either cheering or drinking beers and not really getting like dancing or just singing or anything like that, man. It's just like they just Like especially when the Tartans, Scots, the Tartan take over. my god. That was just like the stuff that I was, you know, dealing with over there when I went to go see the football game. You know, the Giants play over there, like in Munich and in in Tottenham Stadium. It was just a whole bunch of music, everyone wearing their Harry Potter scarves and just that's great, man. Shamus: I I love those clips. And like you said, the wave is kind of Wow, man, I can't everybody's on their phone and shit now. I do love the clips where I I think the one guy's at a basketball game and all of a sudden that song starts playing and he gets up and he just starts ripping like dude he's dancing his ass off, he goes running down the thing. He's fucking I love those clips when dudes just start freaking out like that where they just start dancing and tearing up a concrete floor, man with them feet. Get it! Herbie: But no one no one even does anything. It's on the It's just like, you know, the Jumbotron stuff, you know what I mean? But like just the whole crowd, you know, just like it's so electric when you have like eighty thousand people just singing and dancing and just having a great time, dude. It's just like that energy just reverberates. It's it's Shamus: Yeah. Awesome. No doubt. It's a it I've been to Eagles games, man, where we've you know won playoff games and stuff like that, and that energy is just ridiculous, man. Herbie: You know what they like the Europeans have over us too? Even if their team sucks, they will actually have songs to like to basically describe how much they suck and they're losing and stuff, but it's still just like a funny song. So it's it's you're still having a good old time with everybody. No, but that looks like a badass time. Listen Shamus: I'll tell you what, have you ever been to a NASCAR race? We went I've only been the one. we went to the Pepsi four hundred right after Dale Earnhardt died. Yeah. He died in Daytona. The next race there was one we were at, Pepsi four hundred. I was shocked, dude. I was totally blown away. Not because of the racing part, which was awesome because we were ten rows off the star finish line. And when the third time they came around, my butt cause Daytona's a big track. yeah. He's like it takes them three laps to get up to full speed. And I'm like, get the fuck out of you like and he was like, Yeah, he was like, And when they come back around Grab your hat on the third time when they came back, dude. I never saw that hat again. Like there was some poor lady walking with two beers because they have that that walkway between the fence and the stand. You'll see it all the time if you're watching us. And if she was walking with two beers, that first car went by, it was like, and then the pack. Dude, when they went past her, it blew so much beer. She had like a quarter of the beers left in each one. Like that's how much force. And you're just like, wow. But what I didn't understand not understand. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: Hey, look at all them ducks. Heading up No, they're swans or whatever. yeah. I'm telling you, man, this is like geese. Natural geographic living here. Herbie: god are they Muscobies? maybe they know this maybe they think another thunderstorm's coming, so it's like they're getting ready to load up on the arc. Shamus: Heading to the little lake down here. what I didn't realize was every team, like Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, all those guys, have like trailers where they sell merchandise and they bring like old cars you can get in and take pictures of and stuff. It's not like a football game. Everybody, like even in a regular thing, like you can walk around and I don't know if we do it up here, but in the south, you could pay like five bucks here and you can grab a plate and eat anything you're barbecuing. Then you go to the next one, pay five dollars and Yeah. People have waters for you and stuff like that. And then there's no fight. And there's not like, Jeff Gordon's a jerk off and da da da. Like everybody got along. Like it was amazing. And then that was also the race that Earnhardt Jr. won. It was right after his dad died. It was the next race there and he won it. And that place we were walking back to the bus because it was an army trip. It was like a boss better opportunity for single soldiers. And shout out to my buddy Vinny for getting us the the gig. We were walking back and Daytona Boulevard was just Herbie: Just went banana. Shamus: I mean, people were just pulling out tables, people were dancing on cars and shit like fucking Earnhardt Jr. won it after his dad there. So like the whole town and the bus drivers like y'all might as well just go party. Traffic's not moving for at least four hours. Dude, we were out on Daytona Boulevard until like fucking four in the morning just partying, bro. Like it was cra and like you said, it was just a great vibe, great energy and stuff like that. So yeah, it's good. it's like I said, it's good to see America. I mean, it kind of sucks I got knocked out. But It's good to see that happening here, man. So it's always I always love that split second of silence before a crowd erupts. Like that whole Especially like when a wide receiver's like running down the field and you see him like lay out and catch it in the end zone, and as he falls, like everybody's like I or like when somebody goes to score a goal, like a hockey goal in overtime, you just see him rip one and when the goal goes like this and you see the light go on everyone. Herbie: Yeah, man. Yeah. Ha ha. Yeah dude. People lose their shit. I'll make Shamus: I love that second of silence in between. Herbie: Too, man. I love that because I don't know if a lot of people because I actually watch sumo and stuff too. I just love seeing like the look on the Japanese people's faces when that one sumo guy gets chucked out of the dokyo and you know they're getting ready to land on like old Gaisan. It's just like bro, shh. It's just great. Shamus: Yeah. I'm looking forward to we're getting ready to wrap this up in a second. this weekend Connor McGregor fights for the first time in a while. This Saturday. Yeah. Really? I think he's f Matt Holloway, I think a guy's fighting. So, yeah. Keep saying to kick his back. Let's see what this deal I 'cause once you get old in that game, dude, you get old fast. So I'm a huge Connor McGregor guy. I hope he just doesn't go out there and embarrass himself, but Herbie: yeah. Shamus: Yeah. That crowd is gonna be electric when he comes out 'cause every time he fought that place was fucking crazy. Herbie: Like that, what was it? Gia Carrano's Ronda Rousey's fight. That was just like the hug that they had after the fight lasts longer than the goddamn fight itself. Shamus: Remember when Tyson would come out, dude? yeah. Nobody would cheer. Yeah. Everybody just got like everybody was like, I hope he's not gonna punch me in the face. Like everybody just kinda shut up and just he would just walk out and just leave. Ninety seconds later, people were like, Where do we park? I don't remember where we park. Herbie: Sh. Just see the soul fly out of the guy's eardrum. It's like freaking awesome. Shamus: He's just scared. I'll never forget him and because Mr. T was the first one to do it when I was a kid. Like, cause the Powell of Creed was always dancing around stuff, but like Mr. T would he was like Pain. What's my prediction? Pain. You're just like, holy shit, man, he's gonna kill this dude. Yeah. And Tyson was the same way, but like he was real like, but he never said anything. Yeah. He would just come out and like just stare at you. Yeah. And you're just like, man, he's gonna kill this. Herbie: That's the one thing I always liked about him though, man, because he like bob and weave and s it was just like he was very like like he was not a stationary target, man. Nope. And then when he came in, but that freak I mean you heard like the boom. Shamus: That's why I don't like people standing close to me, because that's exactly what he did. yeah. He would step in because he was smaller. So he would step into the middle of somebody's chest who was way bigger and then come up with that uppercut or and throw and the bigger guy can't do anything because he can't be water. Yeah, and that's why I don't like people standing that close, man. Nope. Nope. Herbie: Yeah. You go night night. Shamus: But yeah, Tyson was the only one where people didn't say shit when he walked in and then after he left like I can't believe I just paid for this shit thousand dollars watch this dude get his ass whooped in ninety seconds Herbie: Yeah. thank god there was other fights in front of it. I think it goes pissed and I missed the whole goddamn thing. Shamus: I didn't even use the seat, I didn't even chance to sit on. The one guy from Sports Illustrated wrote his article. He was like, I can't write the article because I got up and went to get something to drink for me and my old lady. And when I came back through the curtain, you're like ding ding ding ding ding. And everybody erupted and he was like, What just happened? The guy was just like Tyson knocked him out. And he was like, I didn't even hear him introduce like But yeah, man, I used to love them Tyson crowds because nobody when he would come out, everybody's like, here he comes. And then when you knock people out, they're like, Yeah. Herbie: Yeah. No we didn't say anything. Here comes Iron Mike. How great would that be if like it actually had like the you know the sound effects from the Mike Tyson punch out game from in like in his life, like some people really? Shamus: GAN'BELIVE I paid a grand for this shit! Somebody did that on YouTube. Went back and looked at his like his nine like when he was killing dudes and put like the the sound to it. Yeah, it's it's awesome. So I forget who he knocked out but they're too Herbie: I was like, What? No little stars before. Shamus: And like I said, when I was watching his clips, I w it's it's amazing how dangerous that guy was. But Connor McGregor was the same way during his his prime. So hopefully he doesn't go out there and embarrass himself. what do you got going on this weekend, brother? Herbie: Just you know another party coming up this weekend at Big Bob's Wax Carrots, you know. no, I'm sorry, no. Yeah, Village Animan. His party, you know, from r you know, more fireworks and all that stuff. So that's really about it and work. So Shamus: The village. Yeah, I got two retirement parties. One's for on Friday for Lieutenant Rob, who is a mentor of mine. So I'm gonna go wish him well. And then on Saturday it's a luncheon. I don't know what kind of party that is, but it's a luncheon for my old chief who finally retired. I think excuse me. We gave him a shout out before, but there was some other stuff he had to go back and wrap up. So he's actually done now. Herbie: Very clear. Shamus: everybody's get together for luncheon after I guess they're golfing in the morning. I don't golf. And then everybody's meeting up at the country clubs at Durette. So and then hopefully come home and watch the Conor McGregor fight on Saturday. Herbie: I wanna do a jousting tournament with golf carts. That'd be fucking sweet. I always wanted to be a knight, jousting knight just Shamus: We could probably get that done. If we We can get that arranged. Yeah. Sounds like something you see on Jackhead.
