- 0:00Speaker 1: Yo, Bootleg cap podcast Man special guests in here, my guy,
- 0:03Speaker 1: he's back d smoke.
- 0:05Speaker 2: What's up Big? How you doing?
- 0:06Speaker 1: How you doing? Man?
- 0:07Speaker 2: I'm excellent, feeling good.
- 0:10Speaker 1: What's the what's new? Man? We haven't had an albumn
- 0:12Speaker 1: like three or four years.
- 0:14Speaker 3: It's been a minute. It has been in a minute,
- 0:16Speaker 3: you know. In those three or four years. Of course,
- 0:18Speaker 3: I've dropped like singles here and there. I've done a
- 0:21Speaker 3: lot of features, you know, but I've been doing I've
- 0:26Speaker 3: done three seasons of Mary Kingstown and so the acting
- 0:30Speaker 3: bag is one that's been.
- 0:31Speaker 1: So listen, I am a paramount plus guy. Okay, But
- 0:37Speaker 1: for whatever reason, that's the one show I started the
- 0:39Speaker 1: first episode where like dude's brother gets smoked, I think,
- 0:42Speaker 1: like right away it hurts a little bit, but I didn't.
- 0:44Speaker 1: I just I don't know what was going on in
- 0:46Speaker 1: my life. But I just haven't gotten past episode one.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Now.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I've watched Land, man, I've watched mob Land, I've watched
- 0:54Speaker 1: What's what else?
- 0:54Speaker 2: You already watched more than me, But I gotta finish.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Yes, you're on three seasons, Americ Kings. Are you in
- 1:01Speaker 1: season one?
- 1:01Speaker 2: I'm not in season one?
- 1:02Speaker 3: So season one is the background work you gotta do
- 1:06Speaker 3: to know the storyline and where I come in. But
- 1:08Speaker 3: season two, three, four, I mean and four is about
- 1:11Speaker 3: to come out.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Did you watch season one?
- 1:12Speaker 2: I did, absolutely.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Yeah. I got to the point where like, uh, like
- 1:16Speaker 1: there's something with the cop and then like they're trying,
- 1:18Speaker 1: like there's some letter that had to be written and
- 1:21Speaker 1: they were like fucking up some dude in the cell.
- 1:24Speaker 1: I don't know, but I got to that is on
- 1:26Speaker 1: the list.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Because Jeremie renders a g he's in real life too, Like,
- 1:30Speaker 3: so you're on screen with him.
- 1:32Speaker 2: In season three, I am.
- 1:33Speaker 1: He's a nice guy.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a dope dude.
- 1:36Speaker 1: So yeah, he went to that crazy like snow sax Man.
- 1:39Speaker 2: He came back from the dead crazy.
- 1:42Speaker 3: And then so in season three, being on set with
- 1:46Speaker 3: him was an experience because it's like, I'm aware of
- 1:50Speaker 3: all of the things that on the production side they
- 1:52Speaker 3: have to do to accommodate him. He's still recovering, right,
- 1:55Speaker 3: you know, so even filming the show is part of
- 1:57Speaker 3: his recovery, Like I need to get in the swing
- 1:59Speaker 3: of things to stay in mon and my man got
- 2:01Speaker 3: so much metal in him just from reconstructing his body.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Like literally like came back from the dead, like.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Literally, bro and so, but he's a beast man. They
- 2:10Speaker 3: have a whole trailer dedicated to him and fitness and
- 2:12Speaker 3: all this stuff.
- 2:13Speaker 2: So he's on top of it. You know.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Now my man probably doing one arm push ups and everything,
- 2:17Speaker 3: you know. But but yeah, so doing scenes with him
- 2:21Speaker 3: is like on.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Set, he's super focused.
- 2:24Speaker 3: I bet like like he's he's down, you know, the
- 2:26Speaker 3: snap of picture. Everybody knows he's a star, but he's
- 2:30Speaker 3: not gonna do the extra. He's not super social. I
- 2:33Speaker 3: ran into him in Vegas at one of the boxes
- 2:35Speaker 3: at one of the fights.
- 2:36Speaker 2: My man was feeling itself. He was having a good time.
- 2:39Speaker 3: He was like smoke, you know, and it was it
- 2:42Speaker 3: was a whole different Jeremy when he's not working, you know.
- 2:44Speaker 3: And of course his character Mike McCluskey is not a
- 2:47Speaker 3: lighthearted dude, you know, so when he's in that mold,
- 2:51Speaker 3: it's like, you know, people understand and respect it, you know,
- 2:54Speaker 3: but but he's always like keeping it a hunting, always cool.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Are you are you like enough with acting now?
- 3:01Speaker 2: Is it something for definitely? Definitely?
- 3:04Speaker 3: I feel like acting these people who can tell like
- 3:08Speaker 3: our stories authentically. You know if I don't, if I
- 3:11Speaker 3: don't play some of these roles, you're gonna have a
- 3:13Speaker 3: great actor playing our roles. You feel me in the
- 3:17Speaker 3: sense that like, like because my experience coming up in
- 3:22Speaker 3: Inglewood is what it is, And not that I'm the
- 3:24Speaker 3: only hood dude who's acting, but I know I lend
- 3:27Speaker 3: something to the screen that I've seen other people do
- 3:31Speaker 3: well at but not do justice in my opinion, right,
- 3:34Speaker 3: you know so.
- 3:36Speaker 2: And so? But I just love the process. It's a
- 3:39Speaker 2: whole different muscle to flex.
- 3:41Speaker 1: You know.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Like then the music, music is like what do I
- 3:44Speaker 3: want to say? Acting is like how do I bring
- 3:47Speaker 3: life to these words and to this fictional character?
- 3:50Speaker 2: You know so?
- 3:51Speaker 3: And of course I've done acting since I was like
- 3:54Speaker 3: fifteen years old, you know.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Tasha Smith got me into acting.
- 3:58Speaker 1: As a kid.
- 3:59Speaker 3: My first like two three years, I didn't book anything.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Once I started booking, it was like, you know, on
- 4:05Speaker 3: and Pop and I was doing Judging Amy.
- 4:07Speaker 2: The District, Boston Public CSI.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I remember Boston Public.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Boston Public.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Yeah, if you go out in Boston Surprise right, shot
- 4:16Speaker 3: in La Crazy so liars Crazy.
- 4:22Speaker 1: So you've been doing a lot, like you said, you're
- 4:24Speaker 1: dropping singles. I know you've switched situations. Obviously you were
- 4:28Speaker 1: with Empire for a while and now you're with Snoop.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Absolutely death Row, Yes, death Row.
- 4:34Speaker 3: And it's funny because on your show is when he
- 4:36Speaker 3: first was like, man, I wanna I want d Smoke
- 4:39Speaker 3: to be on on death Row, you know, and.
- 4:42Speaker 2: It's not our first time doing business.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Of course, you guys had a famous on screen moment.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Absolutely he asked you where you were from?
- 4:48Speaker 2: Absolutely?
- 4:48Speaker 3: Yeah, And I think that was his first you know,
- 4:53Speaker 3: expression of I see something in this kid.
- 4:56Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Everybody we were in LA shooting LA auditions, so it's
- 5:00Speaker 3: not like, hey, where'd you grow up? Everybody from LA,
- 5:03Speaker 3: you know for that round, but it was like, now
- 5:06Speaker 3: where you you know where you're from? Like, what what
- 5:10Speaker 3: is this that produced what I see in you? You
- 5:12Speaker 3: know what I'm saying that I recognize it myself, you
- 5:15Speaker 3: know what I'm saying. So I always took it as
- 5:18Speaker 3: a nod, But of course in the moment, it's like,
- 5:21Speaker 3: you know, it's like a little bit of tension, you
- 5:23Speaker 3: know what I'm saying, just because it's like, oh, we're
- 5:25Speaker 3: gonna do this on TV. Because I'm used to this.
- 5:28Speaker 3: It didn't the cameras disappeared, you know, as far as
- 5:31Speaker 3: I was like that can happen at a gas station
- 5:33Speaker 3: exactly exactly, yeah, yeah, so but ultimately it's a nod,
- 5:38Speaker 3: you know, Like and since he's been super supportive without
- 5:43Speaker 3: asking for anything, Snoop called me like, hey, nephew, I
- 5:47Speaker 3: need to I need you to write me a Spanish verse,
- 5:48Speaker 3: you know, and by damn mess right, you know, he's like,
- 5:51Speaker 3: gave my least on even when I'm at home. You know,
- 5:54Speaker 3: I'm writing his Spanglish raps and stuff. Even when we
- 5:57Speaker 3: did got Spartianga. You know, he pulled up in ing
- 6:00Speaker 3: Would on Queen Street. You know, all the bloods outside.
- 6:03Speaker 3: He's like, come on, nephew. Like he pulled up with
- 6:05Speaker 3: the with the you know, the food truck, paid for
- 6:11Speaker 3: it for the whole day. You know what I'm saying,
- 6:13Speaker 3: Track Kitchen pulled up to Inglewood, fed the hood. It
- 6:16Speaker 3: was just love, you know, and it was him showing
- 6:18Speaker 3: me what per his words, he was like, I'm gonna
- 6:20Speaker 3: show you how to solidify your legacy.
- 6:22Speaker 2: So it was.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Always like I'm an ally, I'm an asset, and I
- 6:27Speaker 3: don't necessarily want nothing from you. So by the time
- 6:29Speaker 3: it came to this album, it's like, snoop, we gonna
- 6:31Speaker 3: do the whole project or nah, you know, it's like,
- 6:34Speaker 3: let's do it, you know. And we also put out
- 6:37Speaker 3: work Hard Play Hard to single with me and sir.
- 6:39Speaker 3: You know, we put that out back in twenty twenty three. Man, Yeah,
- 6:44Speaker 3: big shut up.
- 6:45Speaker 1: I just saw he did a show Hollywood Ball.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Yeah he did Packed Up the Hollywood Ball, which is
- 6:50Speaker 3: fucking crazy.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Would you guys ever do just the joint the project?
- 6:56Speaker 2: Absolutely?
- 6:57Speaker 3: The bro I mean, my thing is the question is
- 7:00Speaker 3: you know, it's I think it's gonna be me, sir
- 7:02Speaker 3: and Davion.
- 7:03Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 7:04Speaker 3: My brother, Davion Ferris, you know, he the one is
- 7:06Speaker 3: like you know, I guess who you know, guess who
- 7:08Speaker 3: started his gangster.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Ship, Like he's the oldest.
- 7:12Speaker 3: He was always the one that kind of drove us
- 7:15Speaker 3: in the direction of pursuing music, you know, and things
- 7:19Speaker 3: just turned out that Sir got to look from TD
- 7:22Speaker 3: right however it transpires.
- 7:24Speaker 1: But uh, being as pretty close to the situation as
- 7:28Speaker 1: you are, how cool was it to see, uh, you know,
- 7:32Speaker 1: the last fourteen months or so Kendrick Lamar.
- 7:37Speaker 2: I mean, well, one, I'm not as close as well.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Your brother signed the TD.
- 7:42Speaker 2: He signed the TD, and so by affiliation, you know.
- 7:46Speaker 1: You're a kid. Look, you're a kid.
- 7:47Speaker 2: For It's not like I'm getting. I'm not getting. I'm
- 7:49Speaker 2: getting what you get.
- 7:50Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, I'm going to be cool.
- 7:52Speaker 1: I mean, like, just give me your I mean from
- 7:54Speaker 1: a fans perspective.
- 7:55Speaker 3: From okay, from a fans perspective, I know. I mean
- 7:57Speaker 3: I thought you were saying, what's the inside school.
- 7:59Speaker 1: No, it just means like it just had to be cool,
- 8:02Speaker 1: like damn, like this is.
- 8:03Speaker 2: I mean, it's just.
- 8:06Speaker 3: It's inspiring from a from a music standpoint, right, I'm
- 8:11Speaker 3: not tripping off the beef.
- 8:12Speaker 2: I let growing man handle the ship how they want
- 8:14Speaker 2: to do that.
- 8:15Speaker 3: But the fact that that the West is having a moment,
- 8:20Speaker 3: you know, because it's never It's not like we stopped
- 8:23Speaker 3: being us.
- 8:23Speaker 2: We didn't stop making great music.
- 8:25Speaker 3: We didn't stop you know, being dope and having artists
- 8:28Speaker 3: that pushed the line and choose to be different. It's
- 8:31Speaker 3: just that depending on the times, there are different seasons
- 8:34Speaker 3: in music. You know, when the South had it, you know,
- 8:36Speaker 3: and it was a little Little John and the Yin
- 8:38Speaker 3: Yang Twins. You couldn't tell nobody nothing, you know what
- 8:40Speaker 3: I'm saying when t Payne had it.
- 8:42Speaker 2: You you know.
- 8:43Speaker 3: And so it's dope to be to live in a
- 8:47Speaker 3: moment where it's like, oh, West West, It's our time again.
- 8:50Speaker 2: You know.
- 8:52Speaker 3: It was funny because I've done the Hollywood Bowl twice
- 8:55Speaker 3: in the past couple of years, and the night that
- 8:58Speaker 3: Kendrick did to pop out in Inglewood, I was doing
- 9:02Speaker 3: the Hollywood Bowl. So from my phone, I'm watching this
- 9:05Speaker 3: Kendrick say what's up Inglewood, and I'm like, oh, It's
- 9:10Speaker 3: like bittersweet. I'm proud, but I'm like having the biggest
- 9:14Speaker 3: show of my life.
- 9:15Speaker 2: You know. That night in particular, I was opening for
- 9:17Speaker 2: Ta Pain.
- 9:18Speaker 3: And then you know, another night I did, uh, I
- 9:21Speaker 3: was rocked with Derek Hodge at a jazz festival.
- 9:24Speaker 2: You know. So, but but that was an interesting.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Yeah, there was like a Snoop was saying that like
- 9:32Speaker 1: him and DJ Quick were like on a They're in
- 9:35Speaker 1: Canada the night of the pop out, and they were
- 9:37Speaker 1: just like both just like had fomo, like, bro, is
- 9:42Speaker 1: that right Canada?
- 9:43Speaker 2: Right?
- 9:43Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 9:44Speaker 3: I was across right, across town trying to figure out
- 9:47Speaker 3: and you know, I feel like he announced it so
- 9:50Speaker 3: quick and packed it out instantly.
- 9:52Speaker 2: But it was like I just I was like, man,
- 9:56Speaker 2: what time is it?
- 9:57Speaker 3: I was still trying to when I heard it was
- 9:59Speaker 3: about that, I was like, he win's my set time?
- 10:01Speaker 3: Like it's like, bro, you late. You know what I'm saying,
- 10:04Speaker 3: which is where you want to be any other day?
- 10:06Speaker 3: You don't want to be first up?
- 10:08Speaker 1: Yeah? Sure, Hey, we gott to stop the interview to
- 10:10Speaker 1: tell you about our good folks, odd Socks. Man. Now,
- 10:12Speaker 1: these are the odd socks basics, ladies and gentlemen. Now,
- 10:15Speaker 1: when I tell you this is a product that every
- 10:19Speaker 1: single day I'm alive for the last five six years
- 10:24Speaker 1: I have used are these odd socks basics? Now, what
- 10:27Speaker 1: odd Socks is doing is they're kind of reinventing the
- 10:29Speaker 1: sock game, if we're being honest, and the underwear game.
- 10:31Speaker 1: You know a lot of times you'll hit Walmart, you'll
- 10:33Speaker 1: hit Target, you'll get some socks, you get some draws.
- 10:36Speaker 1: They're affordable, they end up with holes in them. They
- 10:39Speaker 1: don't really feel great. Not odd socks, ladies and gentlemen,
- 10:42Speaker 1: These odd Socks basics are the most comfortable socks I've
- 10:45Speaker 1: ever had on my feet. Not only that, but you're
- 10:49Speaker 1: super affordable fourteen ninety nine for a six pack. That's it,
- 10:54Speaker 1: odd socks dot Com. And if you don't believe me,
- 10:59Speaker 1: sock check. Oh wait, that's the ex is on the
- 11:02Speaker 1: other side. There we go. Ah, you see that. Sorry
- 11:07Speaker 1: you had to see those white legs. But it's so
- 11:10Speaker 1: dope that you know, I get to push a product
- 11:13Speaker 1: that I use and that I love, so odd socks
- 11:15Speaker 1: they got the six pack of socks for fourteen ninety
- 11:18Speaker 1: nine at odd socks dot com. The basics, this is
- 11:20Speaker 1: the future of socks, the future of underwear comfort and affordability.
- 11:26Speaker 1: I'm talking about affordability without jeopardizing the quality because they
- 11:30Speaker 1: are the most comfortable socks you ever put on your feet.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Ladies and gents and the Etcetera's got to show love
- 11:35Speaker 1: to the ETCeteras we like all the stripes on the flag.
- 11:38Speaker 1: There are odd socks dot com. Man, much love to
- 11:41Speaker 1: my brothers over there. Make sure you get some right now,
- 11:43Speaker 1: odd socks dot com. Let's get back to the interview,
- 11:45Speaker 1: because I feel like death rows having a super dope moment.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Jane's dope. Obviously October is going crazy. Uh you know,
- 11:54Speaker 1: I feel like they're this this new Death Rows is high.
- 11:58Speaker 1: I mean we had a dog Penalty, we had the
- 12:00Speaker 1: east side of this project. The last Snoop album he
- 12:03Speaker 1: just kind of just dropped on us was crazy.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Yeah, that's crazy, corrupt, that's something crazy.
- 12:11Speaker 1: But I'm just curious, like for you, like, what was
- 12:13Speaker 1: it about outside of it just being Snoop, you know,
- 12:16Speaker 1: someone who supported you throughout your career, of someone's party story,
- 12:19Speaker 1: but what was it about, like what's going on with
- 12:21Speaker 1: death Row that just like was like, yo, this makes sense.
- 12:24Speaker 3: A big part of it is that one Death Row
- 12:27Speaker 3: is musical, you know. Today is what's brilliant about how
- 12:32Speaker 3: Snoop is leading the ship in a sense is that
- 12:35Speaker 3: they're not trying.
- 12:36Speaker 2: To recreate the old Death Row right. You know what
- 12:38Speaker 2: I'm saying.
- 12:39Speaker 3: The artists from a different era that are still creating
- 12:43Speaker 3: that are still dope, They're still they're there, they're still
- 12:46Speaker 3: putting out music. However, the younger artists, you know what
- 12:49Speaker 3: I'm saying, the October London's the Jans, you know, you know,
- 12:53Speaker 3: they're making music like with live instrumentation, with soul, with
- 12:57Speaker 3: all that stuff. So I'm kind of a bridge between
- 13:01Speaker 3: that and rap and new rap, you know, or or
- 13:05Speaker 3: mid age, you know what I'm saying, Like I'm not
- 13:07Speaker 3: I'm not the youngsters, but you know, I'm seasoned, but
- 13:10Speaker 3: I'm still you know, active, you know so, And also
- 13:15Speaker 3: I think it's me understanding what I contribute to it.
- 13:18Speaker 3: It's not so much like what are y'all doing that
- 13:20Speaker 3: I could benefit from. It's like the relationship is is important.
- 13:25Speaker 3: It happening organically, like some of my album was created there.
- 13:28Speaker 3: I have you know, Jane on the album. You know
- 13:31Speaker 3: what I'm saying. Snoop is on the album. So by
- 13:34Speaker 3: the time the conversations happened, it's like, look, what's what's
- 13:37Speaker 3: the other stuff that we need to discuss? Like the
- 13:40Speaker 3: fit is already there, we don't it's a no brainer.
- 13:43Speaker 3: You know, what are what is our agreement so that
- 13:45Speaker 3: we could move forward with it? And it's the biggest
- 13:49Speaker 3: you know, it's love because you know, my agreement with
- 13:53Speaker 3: Snoop is not too different from my agreement with you know, Empire,
- 13:58Speaker 3: and that I get to after a certain amount of time,
- 14:01Speaker 3: you know, keep my ownership and all things.
- 14:03Speaker 2: It's a partnership.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, and and that's why I can forever,
- 14:08Speaker 3: you know, look at my time with Empire and nod
- 14:11Speaker 3: to them, like I respect those guys and it's much
- 14:14Speaker 3: love because one day they rolled for me, like in
- 14:18Speaker 3: so many ways. We went overseas together, Grammy nominated all
- 14:23Speaker 3: the you know, all the beautiful stuff, and that part
- 14:25Speaker 3: of my career was fueled by you know, their support.
- 14:29Speaker 3: So that's the kind of relationships I want to keep
- 14:33Speaker 3: building where it's like I keep ownership and we can build,
- 14:37Speaker 3: you know, and learn from east that we take.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Are you because you've I feel like the last five
- 14:44Speaker 1: or six years you've you've I mean, there's a few
- 14:47Speaker 1: other really dope artists who put dope visuals together, but
- 14:50Speaker 1: I feel like your top tier in that combo when
- 14:52Speaker 1: it comes to just amazing visuals. Now that you're acting
- 14:56Speaker 1: and ship do you is your is you were like
- 14:58Speaker 1: appetite for like how crazier videos got to be? Just
- 15:01Speaker 1: be like is it that much more crazy because you're
- 15:04Speaker 1: all like these movie sets.
- 15:05Speaker 3: And shit, it's yes and no, Like my thing is now,
- 15:10Speaker 3: you know, you know, they say like if you want
- 15:13Speaker 3: to do something well and fast, it's not going to
- 15:15Speaker 3: be cheap. If you want to do if you want
- 15:18Speaker 3: to make it cheap and it done well, it's going
- 15:21Speaker 3: to take a long amount of time. Right, So during
- 15:23Speaker 3: that season, during that season, rhythm and flow hit.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Yep, shit was happening fast.
- 15:30Speaker 3: We didn't know we were up against a beginning pandemic,
- 15:33Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying. But it was like the
- 15:35Speaker 3: speed at which we had to move meant that we
- 15:37Speaker 3: spent a lot of money on those visuals, you know.
- 15:41Speaker 3: So now it's like, how do we wn How do
- 15:45Speaker 3: I get my hands and feet a little more dirty
- 15:47Speaker 3: in the production of these videos so that I can
- 15:49Speaker 3: achieve that quality and save.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, save some bread.
- 15:54Speaker 3: So so the short answer is, yes, we want to
- 15:57Speaker 3: continue making high quality videos, but it's how you know,
- 16:01Speaker 3: if we're gonna spend the type of money we spent
- 16:03Speaker 3: back then, it's gonna be like, you know, we better
- 16:06Speaker 3: be coming out with a film.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Some of the videos, some of the videos you are dropping.
- 16:10Speaker 1: I was like, damn, this can't be. This can't be
- 16:13Speaker 1: less than like thirty grand twenty, like you were putting
- 16:16Speaker 1: bro Hell, no, what was the one you had like
- 16:18Speaker 1: on the old school bus and you had like the sixties.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Cel you're talking about it. Oh, yeah, that that shit
- 16:23Speaker 2: was tight.
- 16:23Speaker 3: That was a honey Jack, Yes, honey, it was crazy.
- 16:27Speaker 3: Honeyjack is one of my favorite It's movies. They're movies,
- 16:31Speaker 3: you know, and that's by a child, the director named Child.
- 16:34Speaker 2: She's incredible.
- 16:35Speaker 1: You linked up with Larrussell. What is it like? L Russell?
- 16:39Speaker 1: I feel like it's doing a lot of good work
- 16:42Speaker 1: to kind of just change. I feel like the way
- 16:43Speaker 1: people think about our approach to be an independent artistry,
- 16:47Speaker 1: you know, content just a concerts, a lot. She's just
- 16:51Speaker 1: doing a lot. Like what was it like? Connecting with him?
- 16:54Speaker 3: Being around l Russell is super inspiring, you know what
- 16:57Speaker 3: I'm saying. L Russell has a fresh energy, a youthful
- 17:01Speaker 3: spirit and h but he's a dog in the sense
- 17:04Speaker 3: that you know, he's working and he's a Bouti's movement
- 17:07Speaker 3: and he's honest, you know what I'm saying, Like in
- 17:10Speaker 3: the moment, like if he don't fuck with it, he
- 17:12Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying, Like, Hey, let's show up,
- 17:14Speaker 3: let's get it done because we on a time crunch,
- 17:16Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying. So, but there's respect, like
- 17:19Speaker 3: we he pulled up to my house and recorded that verse.
- 17:23Speaker 3: You know, I engineered that myself, you know, so brought
- 17:27Speaker 3: his whole team to the house. You know. Then we
- 17:28Speaker 3: did another song and Mike the you know, Mike the
- 17:31Speaker 3: piano in my house, like so like his his movement
- 17:37Speaker 3: is something that I admire as much as his art.
- 17:40Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying, he could be himself, but
- 17:42Speaker 3: he's he's taking all the right risks and doing stuff
- 17:47Speaker 3: and breaking rules, you know, the things that people.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Feel like they got to do.
- 17:50Speaker 3: He's like, no drop dropping value the rollout, don't got
- 17:53Speaker 3: to be crazy. You know what I'm saying, keep dropping
- 17:56Speaker 3: And the irony is that what got me on rich
- 18:00Speaker 3: them and flowing all these big moments is that I
- 18:01Speaker 3: had that same mentality, like every week y'all getting something new,
- 18:05Speaker 3: a visual and a new song.
- 18:06Speaker 2: And you know what I'm saying, so big salute to him.
- 18:09Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying Now, I don't as where
- 18:12Speaker 3: I am now, I don't share the same model.
- 18:16Speaker 2: My business model is not the same.
- 18:17Speaker 1: And that yeah, with anything, not every shoe fits the
- 18:20Speaker 1: same you know for everybody.
- 18:21Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure, you know, and you know I still
- 18:25Speaker 3: I'm close enough to certain TD to learn from. Their
- 18:27Speaker 3: model is extremely different too.
- 18:29Speaker 1: It's like you're kind of like the extreme other side
- 18:31Speaker 1: of the spectrum exclusivity mystique.
- 18:33Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, and I believe in it.
- 18:35Speaker 3: The beauty of that is you get these you get
- 18:38Speaker 3: time off, you know what I'm saying, And of course
- 18:41Speaker 3: you're working during the time off, but it's time.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Out of the out of this sie. Yes, yes, you
- 18:46Speaker 2: know so. And that's what I've been doing on this.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Like what's crazy is it hasn't been that I haven't
- 18:54Speaker 3: had enough music to put out an album any one year.
- 18:56Speaker 3: I got five six albums worth of material. But it's
- 19:00Speaker 3: what the cycle that you have to get in to
- 19:02Speaker 3: put it out is a whole different muscle, you know
- 19:05Speaker 3: what I'm saying. Whether it's like all right, let's shoot
- 19:07Speaker 3: enough visuals, let's get enough content collected, let's whatever, or
- 19:11Speaker 3: fuck it, let's just drop it forward the fans, right,
- 19:14Speaker 3: the people that's watching that closely, y'all gonna get this
- 19:16Speaker 3: disch just for y'all.
- 19:17Speaker 1: You already know. Man. Want to give a shout out
- 19:19Speaker 1: to slap Woods for presenting the podcast only papers I
- 19:22Speaker 1: smoke Man, only leafs that we let fly around here
- 19:25Speaker 1: on the Blue Leg Cap podcast. We just did a
- 19:27Speaker 1: crazy pool party with them too. That was insane out
- 19:29Speaker 1: here in La. So shout out to slap Woods when
- 19:32Speaker 1: I tell you, man quality. They smoke so good. And
- 19:37Speaker 1: they're called slap Woods because they slap I know that's
- 19:39Speaker 1: like their you know, their tagline, but it's also the truth,
- 19:43Speaker 1: all right. So look, go follow them at slap Woods.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Make sure you hit their website. And if you're at
- 19:48Speaker 1: your local smoke shop, if you're the local store and

- 20:02Speaker 1: be on the lookout for that. We'll be announcing it
- 20:04Speaker 1: on the podcast. We're gonna be sending out obviously, you
- 20:06Speaker 1: got to be of age sending out a good box
- 20:08Speaker 1: of these goodies. Oh the sweeping and and cigar wraps
- 20:11Speaker 1: are fire. Slap Woods, man, make sure you go show
- 20:13Speaker 1: them some up slap Woods dot com, follow them on
- 20:16Speaker 1: Instagram at slap Woods. Let's get back to the podcast.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Do you feel like nowadays it's like fans, I feel
- 20:24Speaker 1: like they have I mean, obviously it's they've had a
- 20:26Speaker 1: short attention span for a long time. But in terms
- 20:29Speaker 1: of like when you kind of go away for a while,
- 20:33Speaker 1: it feels like fans have a tendency to kind of
- 20:35Speaker 1: move on, oh for sure, and like find the new
- 20:38Speaker 1: for sure and be like is that something that you're
- 20:42Speaker 1: conscientious of? And and have you noticed that? Like fans
- 20:45Speaker 1: will like hit you like, yo, when when are we
- 20:47Speaker 1: getting There's been a minute.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:49Speaker 3: What I noticed is that it took it took getting
- 20:53Speaker 3: well into the rollout for people to all the way
- 20:55Speaker 3: catch on. You got core fans, and you got not
- 20:59Speaker 3: as core, then you got the waste, the you know,
- 21:04Speaker 3: by the wayside. Once you know what I'm saying, And
- 21:06Speaker 3: I don't fault nobody for being whatever. I just want
- 21:08Speaker 3: to you know know who's who. But but yeah, when
- 21:12Speaker 3: I first dropped a single, they was like, oh shit,
- 21:14Speaker 3: this is dope, you know, And you can almost sense
- 21:16Speaker 3: that some people are like, Okay, he doing it, he
- 21:18Speaker 3: doing something again. Then then you drop another one, they're
- 21:21Speaker 3: like oh shit, a third one, then the freestyle.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Then finally they're like, oh it's happening.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Like but it's like it's like y'all will commend it
- 21:29Speaker 3: at the first move, but y'all won't really buy in until.
- 21:33Speaker 1: What was the first record, No Passes, No Passes.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Yeah, so they're like, Okay, this is dope. Right, it's
- 21:38Speaker 3: like salute good stuff, you know what else. Right Whereas
- 21:42Speaker 3: when you know, when I was coming up, it's like
- 21:43Speaker 3: I could obsess, you know, because one my uh, my
- 21:48Speaker 3: taste wasn't inundated with social media stimulation and all this stuff.
- 21:52Speaker 3: It was like music meant a lot more to us
- 21:54Speaker 3: coming up. Then I think it means to people now,
- 21:57Speaker 3: you know, and so so now until they see that
- 22:02Speaker 3: it's a movement like Larussell, until they see that it's
- 22:05Speaker 3: a part of a bigger thing, you know, they don't
- 22:08Speaker 3: fully buy into it.
- 22:09Speaker 2: And that's just a reality that.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like some weird mental shit. It's almost like, uh,
- 22:13Speaker 1: you know, I had saw that. I don't know, I
- 22:16Speaker 1: don't think they're doing it anymore. But like Spotify was
- 22:19Speaker 1: like flirting with like removing the play counts on people's profiles,
- 22:23Speaker 1: which because I feel like fans will like, you could
- 22:27Speaker 1: send somebody some shit and if they go to the
- 22:29Speaker 1: person's Spotify profile just mentally, if it doesn't look like
- 22:32Speaker 1: the artist is lit and you hadn't heard of them already.
- 22:35Speaker 1: They're they're just be like, I'm.
- 22:36Speaker 3: Good, right, because it doesn't in their mind, it doesn't
- 22:39Speaker 3: give them social currency.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Like they feel like they're more valuable.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, you used to be able to like, Yo,
- 22:44Speaker 1: I'm going to fucking two dope boys and I find
- 22:46Speaker 1: some random fucking artists that you know, these fools posted or.
- 22:50Speaker 2: But it's two types of people though. It's two types
- 22:52Speaker 2: of people.
- 22:53Speaker 3: It's people that listen because it's popular, so that they're
- 22:56Speaker 3: not they're not missing out, you know, due to this
- 22:59Speaker 3: phone you know, sensitivity. And then it's people who are
- 23:03Speaker 3: like completely subscribe to a different way viewing it, that
- 23:07Speaker 3: are still looking for the song that's theirs, Like, Okay,
- 23:09Speaker 3: even if you're a popular artist, let me find number
- 23:12Speaker 3: eleven on the album, and.
- 23:15Speaker 1: It's not the single that's mine.
- 23:17Speaker 3: And not only is that mine is mine because of
- 23:19Speaker 3: this one line in verse three that I'm gonna know
- 23:23Speaker 3: better than anybody else, you know, so, and that's a
- 23:26Speaker 3: lot of times as artists, we got to remember to
- 23:28Speaker 3: speak to those people, you know what I'm saying. So
- 23:32Speaker 3: for that reason, my song with Jane Hancock is one
- 23:34Speaker 3: of my favorite songs, you know, Count Your Blessings. It's
- 23:36Speaker 3: like that's gonna be somebody's favorite for different reasons than
- 23:40Speaker 3: a No Passes.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Or any single that I might have.
- 23:43Speaker 1: What is do you have a date for the album yet?
- 23:47Speaker 1: August twenty sixth, coming soon right now?
- 23:50Speaker 2: Real song? It is upon us?
- 23:53Speaker 1: It is upon us? What is the latest with the
- 23:58Speaker 1: Broadway Gym? We went and shot a little thing over there,
- 24:01Speaker 1: was hanging out over there, and.
- 24:03Speaker 3: So now we've done a soft opening where we have
- 24:07Speaker 3: Saturday mornings at ten am Broadway Boxing Youth Academy where
- 24:12Speaker 3: we have the fighting community. And it's not just youngsters,
- 24:15Speaker 3: just you know, adults, some pro boxers. But Saturday from
- 24:19Speaker 3: ten to one we're in there training fighting. I being
- 24:21Speaker 3: there tomorrow, people spar you know what I'm saying. It's
- 24:24Speaker 3: still blood on the mat, you know, so.
- 24:26Speaker 1: You're still in there. You're still throwing hands.
- 24:27Speaker 3: I throw currently yes on a week or twice a week.
- 24:31Speaker 3: It's not like it's not like six days a week
- 24:33Speaker 3: like I used to, right, you know.
- 24:35Speaker 1: But it's like also like really good cardio, right, excellent
- 24:37Speaker 1: car drenched trench ya, I mean, leave have you have
- 24:41Speaker 1: you uh. You know it's funny because that there was
- 24:43Speaker 1: a few times like you and I would talk and
- 24:44Speaker 1: I would be like, yeah, there's a celebrity who said
- 24:46Speaker 1: they got hands, and you would always tell me I
- 24:48Speaker 1: hate tell them.
- 24:49Speaker 2: None of them. They don't want it. They don't want it.
- 24:52Speaker 1: I feel like they might act like they want it
- 24:54Speaker 1: until they do a little bit of research and they're like.
- 24:56Speaker 3: They just going Their best bet is to try to
- 24:58Speaker 3: wait bully me, right they it gotta be a two
- 25:01Speaker 3: hundred pound to be like all fight smoke like.
- 25:03Speaker 2: You know, I ain't know. I ain't a huge dude.
- 25:06Speaker 3: I know what I'm doing, right, you know, but my
- 25:09Speaker 3: thing is all right, if you're gonna hop in there
- 25:11Speaker 3: with me, you gotta do at least three rounds. So
- 25:13Speaker 3: if you had two hundred pound or that's trying to.
- 25:15Speaker 1: I'm a I'm a I'm a gas you out.
- 25:17Speaker 2: I'm a weather the storm. That's I'm a weather the storm.
- 25:21Speaker 2: And it's some weathering to be done. You know.
- 25:23Speaker 3: You jump in there. These dudes be throwing, and that's
- 25:25Speaker 3: the thing. Fighting is still fighting. It's still dangerous. There's
- 25:29Speaker 3: no skill level too amateur.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Anybody is open to catching, like just getting.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Caught, getting caught, you know. So, but my foot work,
- 25:38Speaker 2: I trust my foot work.
- 25:41Speaker 1: You and your brother shot the music video for your
- 25:43Speaker 1: song in Costa Rica. Yes, how did you guys do
- 25:46Speaker 1: any shrooms out there?
- 25:47Speaker 3: No, that's a very specific question. No, we didn't do
- 25:50Speaker 3: shrooms out there. No, we didn't do.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Because I know they got the Ayahuasca retreats in Costa Rica.
- 25:55Speaker 3: I heard it a vibe the homie. The homie is
- 25:57Speaker 3: with that, Mahmie ron is is about that.
- 26:00Speaker 2: But no, they.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Got whole resorts out there. You go to Costa Rica
- 26:03Speaker 1: and they just ay Yowaska, they just get you, fucking
- 26:06Speaker 1: they you know, they put you on a spaceship and
- 26:09Speaker 1: send you to God.
- 26:09Speaker 2: You know what I mean, that's what they said. Ayahuasca
- 26:11Speaker 2: is you deal with all all of the spirits. I'm cool, But.
- 26:17Speaker 3: You know we have me and Sir have land out
- 26:19Speaker 3: there that were you know, you got the blueprints. Yes,
- 26:22Speaker 3: and so it was part of that, you know. And
- 26:26Speaker 3: then Sergio who shot all the Nipsey stuff, he's the
- 26:28Speaker 3: one who flew out there with us him Jesus is
- 26:32Speaker 3: DP and and.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Yeah, so it was it was a twofold trip.
- 26:37Speaker 3: Check on the land, follow up on some of the
- 26:39Speaker 3: the plans and all that stuff, and then shoot the video.
- 26:42Speaker 3: But but nah, we didn't do the We didn't do
- 26:45Speaker 3: the shrooms out there.
- 26:46Speaker 2: Sir smoked, you know, and smoked. Don't smoke, but you know,
- 26:50Speaker 2: we had a good time.
- 26:51Speaker 1: But you guys just like like I've always wanted to
- 26:53Speaker 1: go out there. I got I heard it's amazing, but
- 26:55Speaker 1: I heard you have to kind of go out there
- 26:57Speaker 1: for like a pretty nice chunk of time. Wise, you
- 27:00Speaker 1: won't see everything or it's almost impossible to see everything
- 27:02Speaker 1: in one trip.
- 27:03Speaker 3: If you could do, if you could do twelve days,
- 27:07Speaker 3: because it's like two sides. Yeah, yeah, for sure. The
- 27:10Speaker 3: Caribbean side is a whole different vibe. Then there's there's
- 27:14Speaker 3: a La Forna.
- 27:15Speaker 2: You know.
- 27:16Speaker 3: La Forna is where Volcannla is at. You know, so
- 27:20Speaker 3: you got natural springs on that volcano. You got to
- 27:23Speaker 3: experience that that you know, raining a lot and ship
- 27:26Speaker 3: rains it. The waterfall at volcano is crazy, you know.
- 27:31Speaker 3: And so you got to see that middle park. Then
- 27:33Speaker 3: you got the Pacific side. You got the uh Manuel Antonio,
- 27:39Speaker 3: which is an incredible zone. Monkeys might run up on
- 27:42Speaker 3: you and just be like ask you for food.
- 27:44Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, Like.
- 27:45Speaker 1: That's what I want to go out there and see
- 27:47Speaker 1: some fucking animals, sloths, sloths, monkeys.
- 27:50Speaker 3: I almost rode over a sloth on a motorcycle. It
- 27:53Speaker 3: was nighttime. I thought it wouldlown. I thought it was
- 27:56Speaker 3: it had sent me. I thought it was a hoodie
- 27:58Speaker 3: or something. I said, well, let me not go over
- 28:00Speaker 3: this piece of clothes. I went around it.
- 28:02Speaker 2: I was like, wait, exactly, it's lots.
- 28:06Speaker 3: Are funny, bro, Like I think we we had to
- 28:09Speaker 3: go back and move them because it's like brown the street. Yeah, yeah,
- 28:13Speaker 3: we moved them, and I swear fole little bro look
- 28:16Speaker 3: back and thanked us in slow motion.
- 28:18Speaker 2: He was like.
- 28:20Speaker 1: Good looking and you like.
- 28:23Speaker 3: But I was like, Bro, it's yes. It's a lot
- 28:26Speaker 3: of wildlife out there. The birds that you'll see flyover
- 28:28Speaker 3: and crazy crazy bats. I've seen a white bat one time.
- 28:32Speaker 1: My boys said, when you go out there, you have
- 28:34Speaker 1: to be careful with the like when you go and eat,
- 28:37Speaker 1: because they'll like they'll try to like double charge you sometimes.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Man.
- 28:42Speaker 3: The food is so affordable out there, Like even if
- 28:45Speaker 3: they did, it's like like if you go, if you
- 28:47Speaker 3: know where to go to like the so that the
- 28:49Speaker 3: little like hole in the wall family spots. You're getting
- 28:52Speaker 3: to play the food for like the equivalent of seven dollars.
- 28:55Speaker 3: And I'm talking about a hefty play of food. But
- 28:57Speaker 3: even if you eat, you know I wanted a more
- 28:59Speaker 3: fancy rest is still.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Hey, we gotta wrap up this interview another one presented
- 29:03Speaker 1: by Hardan Baby you already know what it is. Shout
- 29:06Speaker 1: out to Hardeen for presenting another episode of the Bootleg

- 29:48Speaker 1: the name of the album?
- 29:50Speaker 2: Wake Upsuper?
- 29:51Speaker 1: Okay, wake Up Souper? Explain?
- 29:55Speaker 3: Wake Upsuper is is? How do I put this but
- 30:03Speaker 3: gangsters and lovers. It's an awakening, you know what I'm saying.
- 30:08Speaker 3: Like it's inglewood. It's got a lot of heart and soul,
- 30:13Speaker 3: and it's me taking people on my journey through you know,
- 30:16Speaker 3: one stepping back outside and focusing on music in a
- 30:19Speaker 3: way that starts to feel like myself again. And then
- 30:23Speaker 3: it's also sharing the stories. You know, last year I
- 30:25Speaker 3: lost my mom and so the family, all of our family,
- 30:29Speaker 3: Sir and Daveon were on tour when that happened, and
- 30:31Speaker 3: so we all went through that. So taking people through
- 30:34Speaker 3: what we experienced, but you know, showing them the light
- 30:38Speaker 3: on the other side. Like the music on this album
- 30:40Speaker 3: is just like unmatched. Like I produced half of the project.
- 30:45Speaker 3: You know, this is on Black Habits. I did some
- 30:48Speaker 3: of my favorite stuff, but just a couple of them.
- 30:51Speaker 3: I did Black Habits too, and I did I did
- 30:54Speaker 3: Closer to God, I think those are the ones I did.
- 30:58Speaker 3: And then on on War On Wonders, I might have
- 31:00Speaker 3: done some additional production like instrumental, you know, instruments and
- 31:04Speaker 3: all that stuff. But but this one is one that
- 31:09Speaker 3: I intentionally said, like because I started off producing. I've
- 31:12Speaker 3: been producing since I was ten years old. Rap is
- 31:14Speaker 3: something like probably sixteen seventeen. I started doing more in
- 31:18Speaker 3: my twenties. I got real serious about it, So I'm
- 31:21Speaker 3: technically a late bloomer. Like at Inglewood High, it was
- 31:23Speaker 3: more me making beats and getting in the boxing gloves,
- 31:26Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying, sir. Before he started singing,
- 31:29Speaker 3: it was basketball, you know. Davion was the one that
- 31:32Speaker 3: started just music, you know, all together.
- 31:35Speaker 1: So for you, you know, did you were you Were
- 31:40Speaker 1: you able to dedicate anything to your mom on this album,
- 31:42Speaker 1: like a specific rib.
- 31:43Speaker 2: Absolutely absolutely so.
- 31:44Speaker 3: I have a song called good Morning that's dedicated to her.
- 31:48Speaker 3: It's so much her voices on a song with me
- 31:51Speaker 3: and Bja the Chicago Kick called Proud of You. You know,
- 31:53Speaker 3: I got messages from her that that I saved. And
- 31:57Speaker 3: so it's probably three that are like that deal with
- 32:01Speaker 3: that very situation. One from the standpoint one I wrote
- 32:04Speaker 3: while she was in the hospital, while we were still
- 32:06Speaker 3: hopeful that she.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Got better, you know what I'm saying.
- 32:08Speaker 3: And then good Morning was like talking to her from
- 32:12Speaker 3: the other side, you know. And then proud of You
- 32:15Speaker 3: was like, you know, the full circle moment of you know,
- 32:19Speaker 3: hearing I got a voice message from her for that
- 32:22Speaker 3: song before the accident all together, like letting you know
- 32:26Speaker 3: I'm proud of you, know what I'm saying.
- 32:27Speaker 2: So, yeah, did.
- 32:30Speaker 1: You listen to the intro to the Clips album?
- 32:34Speaker 2: Yes?
- 32:34Speaker 1: I did.
- 32:34Speaker 2: I got to go back and listen to it if
- 32:35Speaker 2: you better.
- 32:36Speaker 1: The song is like each each like maliceon Push, each
- 32:41Speaker 1: do a verse about they lost both their parents in
- 32:43Speaker 1: the same time. So it's like they each like one
- 32:48Speaker 1: of them is doing a verse about their their mom
- 32:50Speaker 1: and the other ones universe about their dad.
- 32:52Speaker 3: It's crazy, yeah, and it's wild because you don't before
- 32:57Speaker 3: something like this happens. You don't realize it's people everywhere
- 33:00Speaker 3: who walk around with this carrying it for sure. It
- 33:03Speaker 3: never goes away, you know what I'm saying. You know,
- 33:06Speaker 3: different people have different relationships with their parents. I was
- 33:09Speaker 3: fortunate enough to be really close with my mom, right
- 33:11Speaker 3: you know, but it you know. I talked to Snoop,
- 33:14Speaker 3: you know Snoop and half there. They was like, bro,
- 33:16Speaker 3: welcome to the club, Like it's the club nobody wants
- 33:18Speaker 3: to join. But you realize that it's a lot of
- 33:21Speaker 3: people in it, you know, because the only alternative is
- 33:24Speaker 3: to go before your parents, which is not common, and
- 33:27Speaker 3: which is exactly because it's not natural. It's there's a
- 33:35Speaker 3: part of it that's natural to bury a parent.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Yet to do a record on his last album where
- 33:40Speaker 1: he's talking about like the the non Porter Joint, we're
- 33:44Speaker 1: talking about losing like his best friend, and it was
- 33:47Speaker 1: I was like, damn, bro, like deep record. What has been?
- 33:50Speaker 1: Like you said earlier, Snoop had kind of told you
- 33:53Speaker 1: this is kind of how you protect your legacy. This
- 33:56Speaker 1: is like what are what is some of the game
- 33:58Speaker 1: that he's given you? Since you guys have kind of
- 34:00Speaker 1: made things official and been working closely.
- 34:02Speaker 3: I mean, it's always been through demonstration. It's never been
- 34:07Speaker 3: sit down like here are the ten rules, rule one
- 34:10Speaker 3: always do.
- 34:10Speaker 2: It was it wasn't that kind of thing.
- 34:12Speaker 1: It was.
- 34:13Speaker 3: It was more like I'm gonna I'm gonna show you
- 34:16Speaker 3: what it looks like and and what he's demonstrated is
- 34:20Speaker 3: being true, you know what I'm saying, regardless of.
- 34:22Speaker 2: Where you at.
- 34:23Speaker 3: And the biggest takeaway from from working with Snoop is
- 34:27Speaker 3: that everybody around him understands the level of demand that
- 34:31Speaker 3: he's under as one of the most famous rappers ever,
- 34:34Speaker 3: famous people, the most famous people ever.
- 34:37Speaker 1: He is the most famous rapper ever. That's a fact,
- 34:39Speaker 1: got you right?
- 34:40Speaker 2: Worldwide?
- 34:40Speaker 1: But famous person he's he's top five. Yeah, yeah, Yeah,
- 34:44Speaker 1: it's it's crazy.
- 34:45Speaker 2: Snoop Dogg.
- 34:45Speaker 3: You can go anywhere in the world, the farthest corner
- 34:48Speaker 3: and tribe and it's you know, but he has a
- 34:52Speaker 3: way of being more present than some of some people
- 34:56Speaker 3: that you might know that I ain't, that don't do
- 34:59Speaker 3: nothing with their life.
- 35:00Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. If he's in a room
- 35:01Speaker 2: with you.
- 35:02Speaker 3: He's as curious about you, as present with you as
- 35:05Speaker 3: anybody can be. And it just shows you that he's
- 35:08Speaker 3: still learning, he's still applying himself, he's still showing up,
- 35:11Speaker 3: you know. And if he could do it with that
- 35:14Speaker 3: level of demand that he's under, then we an't got
- 35:17Speaker 3: no excuse.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Yeah nobody, yeah. And if he can do it without
- 35:19Speaker 1: being a deck period.
- 35:21Speaker 3: And he's giving you know what I'm saying, like of himself,
- 35:24Speaker 3: and and you know, he got a vision and he's
- 35:29Speaker 3: a hundred percent behind that, but you know he could
- 35:32Speaker 3: also be cut through, you know.
- 35:33Speaker 2: And that's what I've learned about some a.
- 35:35Speaker 3: Lot of people I respect and cut through for the
- 35:37Speaker 3: right reasons.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Yeah, not to be cruel, but sometimes, you got everyone
- 35:40Speaker 1: has to have boundaries, Everyone has to.
- 35:42Speaker 3: Have exactly exactly you know what I'm saying. And I've
- 35:45Speaker 3: seen him go into different molds. You know what I'm saying.
- 35:47Speaker 3: When it's when it's Snoop Dogg, mold, you know, not
- 35:50Speaker 3: not unc, not Uncle Snoop when it's like dog and
- 35:55Speaker 3: so you know it's for me, it's like, all right,
- 35:57Speaker 3: cool because I know that about myself, you.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Know, right, So not for sure, man. So the album's
- 36:02Speaker 1: coming soon. You see. You got bj the Chicago Kid
- 36:04Speaker 1: on the record. Absolutely, who else?
- 36:06Speaker 2: Jane Jane Hancock. I got Lucky Day. I got Miles Minnick.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Oh, Miles is dope.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Yeah, Miles is super dope. Of course. I got the Russell.
- 36:15Speaker 2: I got the Homie nine nine Okay, he's dope. Yes,
- 36:18Speaker 2: I got.
- 36:19Speaker 3: Snoop Dogg on the production. I got you know, myself.
- 36:22Speaker 3: I did like five of them. I got you know,
- 36:26Speaker 3: Laurentz from fifteen hundred damn O you know Turbo. I
- 36:32Speaker 3: got Terrace Martin on the intro, my brother daveon singing backgrounds.
- 36:36Speaker 2: You know. So it's I'm trying to make sure I
- 36:39Speaker 2: miss nobody.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Oh.
- 36:40Speaker 2: I got PJ.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Morton, Tiffany Gucht on the out So it's a lot
- 36:44Speaker 3: of Most of the features are voices, you know.
- 36:46Speaker 2: What I'm saying.
- 36:47Speaker 3: It's not a grip of rappers, right, but I do
- 36:50Speaker 3: have the ones that matter are on there.
- 36:53Speaker 2: You know.
- 36:53Speaker 1: I love it. Man, Well look coming soon. August twenty six.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Twenty six.
- 36:57Speaker 1: Yes, is that on a Friday.
- 36:59Speaker 2: That's on a Tuesday.
- 37:00Speaker 1: It's on a Tuesday. That's that's what I say. It
- 37:02Speaker 1: feels like a Tuesday if I'm like in my head,
- 37:04Speaker 1: I'm like thinking of the month Tuesday, like it like
- 37:06Speaker 1: it was back in the day.
- 37:07Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, what we're doing.
- 37:09Speaker 1: I wish we'd get back to Tuesdays. Let's do it
- 37:11Speaker 1: and then you can uh.
- 37:12Speaker 2: By the weekend. You don't live with the music a
- 37:14Speaker 2: little bit.
- 37:15Speaker 1: People like to That's the thing. People don't be on
- 37:18Speaker 1: their phone listening to Ship on the weekend. That's why
- 37:20Speaker 1: I understand why they went to Friday. It's smarter to
- 37:23Speaker 1: do Tuesday. Let's start that anyway. Look, I appreciate you
- 37:26Speaker 1: Smoke Go Sport the album. I'm sure the pre orders
- 37:29Speaker 1: are up and all that. Good Ship, my guy.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Good to see, yes, sir,
