- 0:00Speaker 1: This production is brought to you by the Recess Bell.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Welcome to the film real we are talking films. My
- 0:12Speaker 1: name is Justin and I'm here with Jonathan.
- 0:16Speaker 2: That is me.
- 0:17Speaker 1: What do you think you think we should start a band?
- 0:20Speaker 2: No? No, definitely not.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Why not I play? I play instruments.
- 0:24Speaker 3: I cannot play an instrument, and I cannot sing. Even
- 0:26Speaker 3: though I sing a lot, I'm not good at it.
- 0:29Speaker 3: Why I do it in my car by myself?
- 0:30Speaker 1: What are you singing?
- 0:31Speaker 2: Whatever I'm listening to?
- 0:32Speaker 1: What do you listen to?
- 0:34Speaker 3: Uh?
- 0:34Speaker 2: Now, I'm actually a big country guy.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Oh god, I know.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Oh no, I went to listen.
- 0:38Speaker 3: I went to college in Virginia for four years and
- 0:42Speaker 3: I didn't listen to one country song.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:43Speaker 3: I was so anti country. And then one of my
- 0:47Speaker 3: buddies from my golf trip in like twenty sixteen just
- 0:50Speaker 3: had me start listening to the songs here and there,
- 0:52Speaker 3: and now that's mainly what I listen to.
- 0:54Speaker 2: But I still like all types of music.
- 0:55Speaker 1: It's modern country you're listening.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I don't like the old twangees, good style.
- 1:00Speaker 3: No no, no, my car broke down, my wife left me,
- 1:02Speaker 3: and my dog died.
- 1:03Speaker 2: What are the it's more like Poppy.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Who's who's like a singer?
- 1:08Speaker 2: Luke Bryan, Yeah, Luke Holmbs, Morgan Wallen, jelly Roll good.
- 1:14Speaker 2: We went to his concert. He was really good.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Is that? Uh, we're gonna do our first Jackie name
- 1:20Speaker 1: drop is she? Is she a country girl?
- 1:24Speaker 2: No?
- 1:24Speaker 3: But she actually loved the Jelly Roll concert and said
- 1:27Speaker 3: she would go see him anytime he's around. He's more
- 1:30Speaker 3: like a he's country, but he's also rock. And it
- 1:33Speaker 3: was like almost like you were kind of at church
- 1:35Speaker 3: like preaching, like like you just but it was just good.
- 1:39Speaker 3: It was just you were what you were into it.
- 1:40Speaker 1: What is the genre that you listen to the most?
- 1:45Speaker 1: Is it a country?
- 1:45Speaker 2: Yea?
- 1:45Speaker 3: Prior to that, I'm a big eighties guy. I like
- 1:49Speaker 3: eighties freestyle. I used to I listened to rap and
- 1:52Speaker 3: hip hop growing up.
- 1:53Speaker 2: When it was good. Yeah, you know, when you can
- 1:55Speaker 2: understand what they were actually saying and not this mumble rap.
- 1:58Speaker 1: You didn't like the Kendrick Lamar liftime show.
- 2:00Speaker 2: I did not know.
- 2:02Speaker 3: I also didn't know the whole story with him and
- 2:04Speaker 3: Drake and everything that was going on.
- 2:08Speaker 2: But nah, I didn't. I didn't care for it.
- 2:10Speaker 1: What about you know, your Van Halen's and Guns N' Roses. Yeah.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll listen to some rock, and like I said,
- 2:16Speaker 3: I pretty much listen to everything. The only thing I
- 2:18Speaker 3: didn't listen to is country, and now that's my main So.
- 2:20Speaker 1: How far back would you go with music? Because we've
- 2:23Speaker 1: talked about watching older movies. I mean, would you listen
- 2:26Speaker 1: to fifties sixties? Yeah? Absolutely, that's usually my jam, fifty sixties, seventies.
- 2:31Speaker 1: But as far as modern stuff goes, there's just not
- 2:34Speaker 1: much out there mainstream that I like. There is every
- 2:37Speaker 1: once in a while, like a pop song that comes along,
- 2:39Speaker 1: I'm like, it's kind of catchy. I'll listen to it.
- 2:41Speaker 1: But I don't know if it's just because I'm old
- 2:44Speaker 1: and I don't like the modern stuff and it's not
- 2:47Speaker 1: nostalgic for me. You know, I obviously live off of nostalgia,
- 2:50Speaker 1: not just with movies, but with toys and you know,
- 2:54Speaker 1: watching shows, and the same thing goes with music. So
- 2:57Speaker 1: I just I just don't get this generation.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Man.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I mean neither.
- 3:02Speaker 3: I grew up listening to the seventies eighties because that's
- 3:04Speaker 3: why my parents listened to, you know, oldies and disco
- 3:06Speaker 3: and that stuff. So yeah, I'll go back all the
- 3:09Speaker 3: way fifties sixties.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Unfortunately, as far as mainstream radio goes, you know, terrestrial radio,
- 3:16Speaker 1: there's very few stations other than the one that I
- 3:19Speaker 1: work at is one of the few on Long Island
- 3:21Speaker 1: in ninety point three WHPC, the voice of Nasau Community
- 3:23Speaker 1: College that actually plays stuff from the fifties sixties era.
- 3:27Speaker 1: You know, I used to listen to CBSFM all the
- 3:30Speaker 1: time back in the day, and that's an oldies station. Now,
- 3:33Speaker 1: if you listen to their oldies, it's like, here's Matchbox
- 3:35Speaker 1: twenty and you're like, what, that's oldies, That's that was
- 3:38Speaker 1: a new that was new.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Well, technically we're old now, so those are oldies. Yeah.
- 3:43Speaker 1: It sucks getting old. I mean, I'm in so much
- 3:46Speaker 1: physical pain these days. I've talked to you about, you know,
- 3:49Speaker 1: various issues throughout my life, my ass. This was wonderful.
- 3:53Speaker 1: I was mentioning to you about yesterday.
- 3:56Speaker 3: You might talk to me about your ass a little
- 3:57Speaker 3: too much, I know now that I think about it.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Dude, I ate something just horribly yesterday the day prior
- 4:04Speaker 1: to that, and then it kicked in the next day.
- 4:06Speaker 1: And then you just go to the bathroom like eight
- 4:08Speaker 1: or nine times in like an hour, setting to the
- 4:11Speaker 1: point where I'm literally praying I go. Because we had
- 4:14Speaker 1: bowling later than I was like, I want to bowl.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I can't. I can't bowl like this. It hurts to
- 4:19Speaker 1: you know, continue to go. And then it's just you know,
- 4:21Speaker 1: you're in hell. And it's my own fault because I
- 4:25Speaker 1: know that peppers give me issues.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Like, yeah, so I had peppers yesterday, which I'm allergic to. Well,
- 4:32Speaker 3: maybe there's your first problem.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Sometimes it doesn't do what it did, and then yesterday
- 4:37Speaker 1: it did what it probably normally should be doing, and
- 4:40Speaker 1: that's destroying my insides. And I paid for it. I
- 4:43Speaker 1: paid for it. But I love food. I love eating trash.
- 4:47Speaker 1: I try and eat healthy these days. I've had my
- 4:50Speaker 1: ups and downs as far as my diet goes. You've
- 4:52Speaker 1: seen the fat pictures of young Justice.
- 4:55Speaker 2: I still find it hard to believe that you were fat.
- 4:57Speaker 1: A lot of people, a lot of people that you
- 4:59Speaker 1: know have recent became friends with me to find it
- 5:02Speaker 1: out because I'm very lanky and bony and all of that.
- 5:05Speaker 1: But there was a time where I was pushing two
- 5:07Speaker 1: hundred and fifty pounds and I was eating NonStop. I
- 5:10Speaker 1: was eating anything, but mostly just like treats. Like I'd
- 5:14Speaker 1: get a big pack of Hostess cupcakes. You know, it'd
- 5:17Speaker 1: come with eight of them. They'd be gone in the day,
- 5:20Speaker 1: you know, eight cupcakes in one fucking day. And I
- 5:24Speaker 1: would wake up in the middle of the night and
- 5:25Speaker 1: instead of like you know, using the restroom, like yeah,
- 5:28Speaker 1: I eat some bread and then just go to sleep,
- 5:30Speaker 1: like after eating half a roll of Italian bread. So
- 5:35Speaker 1: I've changed those habits, but every now and then I
- 5:37Speaker 1: do like to indulge and eat the fast food. And
- 5:41Speaker 1: I think we should just start out before we get
- 5:43Speaker 1: to some movie talk, and we are gonna be talking
- 5:45Speaker 1: some recent movies that we've watched, and then the main
- 5:48Speaker 1: thing that we're gonna get to, and I think I'm
- 5:49Speaker 1: gonna break this up into two parts. We are going
- 5:52Speaker 1: to get to our favorite action movies of all times,
- 5:55Speaker 1: because me and you both like the genre. But let's
- 5:58Speaker 1: get to the fast food top top five fast foods,
- 6:04Speaker 1: fast food spots of all time. Where are you going.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Let's let's see if we have some common ground, and maybe.
- 6:09Speaker 2: I think we have to.
- 6:10Speaker 3: I think we I would find it hard to believe
- 6:12Speaker 3: if we had five different fast food places.
- 6:15Speaker 1: But some people define fast food differently. Okay, so it's
- 6:19Speaker 1: something like Mo's and Chipotle, Is that fast food?
- 6:22Speaker 2: I don't think so.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Why because you can't drive through with it? Or yeah, expensive.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Drive through is probably a good uh requisite to have
- 6:33Speaker 2: for it to be a fast food place. So too,
- 6:35Speaker 2: I just think, yeah, I just think of fast food
- 6:37Speaker 2: is yeah, you just drive by, pick it up and go.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Like I feel like if you go to Chipotle or Mo's,
- 6:43Speaker 2: you're probably gonna sit down and eat there.
- 6:45Speaker 1: It's very rare for me to take it home because
- 6:47Speaker 1: there's not one near me. And yeah, like, first of all,
- 6:50Speaker 1: Mos always has a fantastic music They're always playing like
- 6:53Speaker 1: Prints and Van Hellen. They are playing tracks that I like.
- 6:56Speaker 1: And then they greet you so happily, you know, welcome
- 6:58Speaker 1: to Mos. So I'm gonna stay there because it would
- 7:00Speaker 1: just be rude to leave after such a tremendous greeting.
- 7:03Speaker 1: So I'm going to start off well.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Also, Chipotle they cook everything there per their commercials. Yeah,
- 7:08Speaker 3: well nothing's frozen, everything's cooked.
- 7:11Speaker 1: They also, you know, have E Cola. I feel like
- 7:13Speaker 1: every like every couple of years or so, let's start
- 7:16Speaker 1: off with you know I have my number one, I
- 7:20Speaker 1: have my number two. I don't know if if I
- 7:24Speaker 1: can even think of five that I go to consistently.
- 7:27Speaker 1: I'm going to go with a hot take right here.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Coming in at number five for me is Wendy's. Okay,
- 7:33Speaker 1: because I don't get it often. I think it's very consistent,
- 7:37Speaker 1: But I don't like that form of burger over some
- 7:41Speaker 1: of the other.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Places that the Square Burger.
- 7:43Speaker 1: No, and it's just you know, it's fine, you know.
- 7:45Speaker 1: I like their little frosties are cute. We just didn't
- 7:49Speaker 1: have one really that close to me, so I don't
- 7:51Speaker 1: have full nostalgia for it. That's another thing. Even food
- 7:54Speaker 1: is nostalgic for me, and the other places were definitely
- 7:57Speaker 1: something that i'd get more often. But Wendy's I have
- 8:00Speaker 1: no issue with it. Is one just going to crack
- 8:02Speaker 1: your top five. Absolutely, a lot of people have it
- 8:04Speaker 1: at one.
- 8:05Speaker 2: It's not my one.
- 8:06Speaker 3: I believe it is my two real I actually went
- 8:09Speaker 3: and got it after I saw you at the Bowl
- 8:10Speaker 3: Alley on Thursday.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Oh did you went home? Yep? And they have good
- 8:13Speaker 2: deals too.
- 8:14Speaker 3: I get the five dollar Biggie bag combs with a
- 8:16Speaker 3: junior baking cheeseburger, fries, a four piece nugget.
- 8:19Speaker 2: And a drink for five bucks.
- 8:21Speaker 3: I mean, can't beat it some places, even though I don't.
- 8:24Speaker 3: I'm not a big fan of their fries.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Really yeah.
- 8:26Speaker 3: I think their fries are probably towards the bottom of
- 8:30Speaker 3: fast food French fries for me.
- 8:32Speaker 1: That's another thing. Some of these places aren't consistent. I think,
- 8:36Speaker 1: at least the times I've had Wendy's, it's rare for
- 8:40Speaker 1: Wendy's to just be different, Like Taco Bell is always
- 8:43Speaker 1: the same. I've never been like, this is bad Taco Bell,
- 8:45Speaker 1: Like it's always just Taco Bell McDonald's. Though, when it's perfect,
- 8:49Speaker 1: it's on a certain level. But when it's soggy and
- 8:52Speaker 1: cold and it's not, even though you're getting it fresh
- 8:55Speaker 1: or fresh in quotation marks, it's different. But I've always
- 9:00Speaker 1: found Wendy's to be, you know, sort of similar. I'm
- 9:02Speaker 1: gonna go with did you have a number five?
- 9:04Speaker 3: That according to Jackie, who's a health person, Wendy's is
- 9:10Speaker 3: supposedly one of the healthier options. But my thing is
- 9:15Speaker 3: so my dad, I remember this all the time growing up,
- 9:18Speaker 3: whenever we would get fast food, he would always complain
- 9:20Speaker 3: that what he got was cold, but he always got
- 9:23Speaker 3: everything as it came. I'm a picky eater, so whenever
- 9:27Speaker 3: I order things, I always get stuff off of it.
- 9:30Speaker 3: Ninety eight percent of the time. It's fresh because they
- 9:33Speaker 3: got to make it right then and there. Because I'm
- 9:35Speaker 3: getting no tomato, no onion or whatever else. Well, at
- 9:39Speaker 3: least it's hot. At least it's hot so it melts
- 9:41Speaker 3: the spit. My number five is going to be one
- 9:44Speaker 3: that's not from around here. It's called water Burger.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, where where is that?
- 9:49Speaker 3: So? I've had it in Texas when I went to
- 9:52Speaker 3: visit my buddy down there a bunch, and then they
- 9:54Speaker 3: opened one in Colorado. And the funny thing is the
- 9:57Speaker 3: one in Texas we all loved when we got it
- 10:00Speaker 3: wasn't the same, So that goes to your consistency thing.
- 10:04Speaker 3: But yeah, we like what a burger a lot.
- 10:07Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with number four. One that is rare.
- 10:11Speaker 1: It's it's rare to see this one, but it's definitely
- 10:16Speaker 1: one that's very filling. I never left this place with
- 10:19Speaker 1: my stomach feeling good, but it's deliciously tasty. And that
- 10:23Speaker 1: is checkers.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Okay, I've not had Checkers often.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Oh me, neither, Yeah, neither. I've probably had it, you know,
- 10:31Speaker 1: fifteen times in my entire life. I usually stick with
- 10:34Speaker 1: the top three that but Checkers is solid and it's
- 10:39Speaker 1: a unique French fry. You can't really get a Checkers
- 10:43Speaker 1: type of French fry anywhere else that I can think of, So.
- 10:46Speaker 2: A regular fry, waffle fry, it's.
- 10:48Speaker 1: A regular fry, but it's got like this breading over it,
- 10:50Speaker 1: and it has a different style of taste to it
- 10:54Speaker 1: than I've had for any of the other main chains.
- 10:57Speaker 1: So I'm gonna go with Checkers at number four. I
- 11:00Speaker 1: used to get it after going to the Jets practice
- 11:03Speaker 1: over at Hofstra. They used to be at Hofstra and
- 11:05Speaker 1: one of the only few Checkers back in the day
- 11:07Speaker 1: was one in Hempstead. Yeah, and then they have one
- 11:10Speaker 1: in Baldwin now and that's really the only.
- 11:12Speaker 2: One in I want to say, it's Amityville.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Okay, because I used to go that's where I work
- 11:19Speaker 3: up off Exit thirty two off the Southern State and
- 11:21Speaker 3: instead of going north, if you go south, there's a
- 11:23Speaker 3: Checkers over there. But I, like I said, maybe a
- 11:27Speaker 3: handful of times I've eaten Checkers, not even enough to
- 11:30Speaker 3: remember it or give an opinion on it.
- 11:32Speaker 1: I'll have to, I'll have to go back there because
- 11:34Speaker 1: it's been it's been quite a while. You got another
- 11:36Speaker 1: one that stands out for you? Number four?
- 11:38Speaker 2: Yeah, number four is going to be Chick fil A.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Okay, that's the controversial one.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, just I know they have their their things
- 11:46Speaker 1: that they're against and whatnot, but it is damn delicious.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Yeah, there's sauces. They got a lot of salt. I'm
- 11:52Speaker 2: a sauce guy. I like condiments.
- 11:54Speaker 1: And they're making one pretty close to here. Actually, I
- 11:57Speaker 1: just saw one up in construction right near the Asshole Coliseum.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Oh wow, so they're sort of taken over. They're not
- 12:03Speaker 1: open on Sundays though, Is that that's definitely the merit
- 12:05Speaker 1: for you.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Which is funny because they are the stadium for the
- 12:10Speaker 3: Atlanta Falcons.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Oh really, that's the yeah, and they're not open.
- 12:14Speaker 3: It's hilarious, and they play ninety five percent of their
- 12:16Speaker 3: games on Sundays. It's like, you probably should have thought
- 12:18Speaker 3: of this a little better. But yeah, we eat it
- 12:21Speaker 3: a lot. When we go to Myrtle Beach to play golf.
- 12:23Speaker 3: That's usually the stop off on the way home after golf,
- 12:25Speaker 3: pick up a quick lunch, and then go hang out
- 12:27Speaker 3: at the house. But yeah, like I said, their sauces
- 12:30Speaker 3: are are very good, and it's good chicken.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's high quality products for sure. Yeah, and
- 12:36Speaker 1: there's always hot girls in there. I've noticed every time
- 12:39Speaker 1: I swear to God, every time I go into a
- 12:41Speaker 1: Chick fil a, there's like smoking hot college girls in there.
- 12:44Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Probably the drinks maybe.
- 12:46Speaker 3: And I think it's a little healthier too, because you
- 12:47Speaker 3: can get the grilled chicken as opposed to you know.
- 12:50Speaker 1: They got salads, which is a rarity with a lot
- 12:52Speaker 1: of these other fast food places.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Number three, some people might not declare as fast food.
- 12:57Speaker 1: It is what it is. I'm mark making it fast
- 12:59Speaker 1: food and that's Nathan's.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Now Nathan's fast food.
- 13:03Speaker 1: I love it.
- 13:03Speaker 2: I would say it's fast food.
- 13:04Speaker 1: I love it. Listen. It's no other fast food place
- 13:07Speaker 1: really sells hot dogs. Yeah, so I don't know why
- 13:09Speaker 1: McDonald's never tried that, but Nathan's has, in my opinion,
- 13:14Speaker 1: the best French fry out there.
- 13:16Speaker 2: There's a crinkle cut.
- 13:18Speaker 1: I guess that's the technical. You know, they're thicker and
- 13:21Speaker 1: I just have again the nostalgic memories of going there.
- 13:24Speaker 1: We talked about that, I think on one of our
- 13:26Speaker 1: first podcasts when we talked about Blockbuster. I go to Nathan's,
- 13:30Speaker 1: you know, and then the Blockbuster and toys r Us
- 13:33Speaker 1: and Nathan's had these amazing arcade back in the day,
- 13:37Speaker 1: and it's just one of those earlier memories in my
- 13:39Speaker 1: life that always sticks out with me. In fact, I
- 13:41Speaker 1: saw our ride that used to be at the Nathan's
- 13:44Speaker 1: at a physical therapy place I had to go to.
- 13:47Speaker 1: They had the freaking dino, the dinosaur from the Flintstones,
- 13:50Speaker 1: and I'm like, oh my god, that is the dino,
- 13:52Speaker 1: Like I wonder if that's the exact one that used
- 13:54Speaker 1: to be outside of the Nathans. But on top of
- 13:57Speaker 1: just the nostalgia, I think they have really good food
- 14:00Speaker 1: and they have a wide variety of things that you
- 14:02Speaker 1: could get your onion rings, your corn dogs, which I'm
- 14:04Speaker 1: a big corn dog guy, and it's his classic. It's
- 14:07Speaker 1: the oldest one out of all these, you know, it's
- 14:09Speaker 1: been around for so long. Do they have burgers there, Yeah,
- 14:11Speaker 1: they have, and they are really good burgers.
- 14:13Speaker 2: I'm not a big Nathan's guy.
- 14:14Speaker 3: Probably again, only been there maybe a handful of times too,
- 14:18Speaker 3: And I have a difference of opinion with you. I'm
- 14:20Speaker 3: not a crinkle cut fry guy. I like the more
- 14:24Speaker 3: the shoe string the thinner ones. The McDonald's fries to
- 14:28Speaker 3: me is number one, hands down.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Have you had the fries at the bowling alley?
- 14:32Speaker 2: We go to the sidewinder ones.
- 14:36Speaker 1: They're more of just like the thinner kind.
- 14:41Speaker 3: I'm trying to think because Jaggie's mom always gets the
- 14:44Speaker 3: ones that are like they look like sidewinders, like like
- 14:47Speaker 3: a thick cut spiral one.
- 14:49Speaker 1: I didn't get.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Everybody says they're great.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Yeah, they've They've really up their game. I feel like
- 14:54Speaker 1: with the food over there.
- 14:56Speaker 2: People get there.
- 14:57Speaker 3: I'm like, they serve that here at the they have
- 14:59Speaker 3: to like spinach order choke tip. I'm like, first of all,
- 15:01Speaker 3: never getting that at a bowling alley, but I'm just
- 15:03Speaker 3: shocked that they even serve it.
- 15:06Speaker 1: So what are you putting in that your number three?
- 15:08Speaker 3: My number three is gonna be taco bell. Okay, That's
- 15:10Speaker 3: been a staple. That's the late night love it as
- 15:14Speaker 3: you're eating it, paying for it. Yeah, hopefully when you
- 15:17Speaker 3: wake up in the morning and not actually waking up
- 15:20Speaker 3: at like three in the morning having to run to
- 15:22Speaker 3: the bathroom. But yeah, I just it's a guilty pleasure.
- 15:26Speaker 1: I have Taco Bell at my number two.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a guilty pleasure for me.
- 15:29Speaker 1: It's always perfection.
- 15:31Speaker 2: What's your go to?
- 15:32Speaker 1: I am. I'm very consistent with all my stuff and
- 15:35Speaker 1: I do want to deviate from what I normally have.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I usually just get three soft tacos, three hard tacos,
- 15:42Speaker 1: and a cheese casadia, and then I try and get
- 15:44Speaker 1: a dessert, you know, depending on what they have, the
- 15:47Speaker 1: little cinnamon crush bands, and then you got to get
- 15:49Speaker 1: a Baja blast. If you're going to go to Taco Bell,
- 15:51Speaker 1: you need that. But I should like actually expand my like,
- 15:56Speaker 1: you know, appetite and when I go to these fast
- 15:58Speaker 1: food places because I'm just sort of stuck in my
- 16:00Speaker 1: ways of getting the things that I've had for twenty
- 16:02Speaker 1: five years at this point. What do you usually get?
- 16:05Speaker 3: My go to as I get two chiloopas with ground beef,
- 16:09Speaker 3: no sour cream, no tomato, add nacho cheese.
- 16:12Speaker 2: It's phenomenal.
- 16:14Speaker 3: I get a chicken case of dia with no sauce
- 16:16Speaker 3: because I don't like the halopeno sauce they put in there,
- 16:19Speaker 3: and then if I'm really hungry, I'll add a taco.
- 16:21Speaker 3: But usually those three are very filling.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Oh so you do get filled because I was, Oh.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Yeah, the chiloopas are filling.
- 16:27Speaker 3: You got the bigger shell, and then the case of
- 16:31Speaker 3: da I mean is yeah, it puts me over the
- 16:33Speaker 3: top usually.
- 16:34Speaker 1: So I got like I said, I got taco bells
- 16:36Speaker 1: as my number two. It's something I didn't have until
- 16:40Speaker 1: maybe sixth grade or so, which is shocking. It was
- 16:43Speaker 1: very even much more picky of an eater as a child,
- 16:46Speaker 1: and just something about I don't know, like foreign food
- 16:49Speaker 1: scared me.
- 16:50Speaker 3: I don't think that like parents say like all right,
- 16:53Speaker 3: we're gonna go to taco bell. It's usually all right,
- 16:55Speaker 3: we're going to McDonald's, right, we're going to Burger King,
- 16:57Speaker 3: all right, we're going to Wendy's.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Yeah, there wasn't also a Now I have a taco
- 17:00Speaker 1: bell within you know, four or five minutes from me,
- 17:02Speaker 1: and uh it's perfect drunk food as well.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Oh yeah, late night taco.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Bell is fantastic. So I have that at number two.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Did you have your number two from Jackie's?
- 17:11Speaker 3: I could throw a rock, to a Taco Bell, and
- 17:14Speaker 3: to a Wendy's. Wendy's was my number two.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Oh really yeah, so we sort of went over Wendy's.
- 17:19Speaker 1: I think we might have the same number one.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Then I'm gonna guess probably a bought up ba ba
- 17:24Speaker 2: ba Yep.
- 17:24Speaker 1: McDonald's it's the fucking best. It's the best. And again,
- 17:29Speaker 1: the nostalgia of going there is it's it's ingrained in
- 17:33Speaker 1: my just core, you know, getting those Happy Meal toys.
- 17:36Speaker 1: I still collect them to this day. I still collect
- 17:39Speaker 1: the actual Happy Meal boxes because I just I love
- 17:43Speaker 1: what McDonald's once was and was so family friendly and colorful,
- 17:48Speaker 1: and now you go to these McDonald's and they're just
- 17:50Speaker 1: so dreary and they look like doctor's office as it's
- 17:53Speaker 1: honestly pretty depressing if you've seen, you know, ninety nine
- 17:56Speaker 1: point nine percent of McDonald's are these you know, gray
- 17:59Speaker 1: colored things without a hint of Ronald anywhere.
- 18:02Speaker 2: So I don't know they modernized, But who is.
- 18:05Speaker 1: The one that they're asking, Like, you know, there had
- 18:07Speaker 1: to have been some board meeting and they polled people,
- 18:10Speaker 1: and there had to have been a various discussion from
- 18:14Speaker 1: different people like presidents and vice presidents, and they all
- 18:17Speaker 1: came to the conclusion that this is what people want,
- 18:19Speaker 1: because I think if the ask the actual people what
- 18:21Speaker 1: they wanted, they would want the Grimace, they'd want the Hamburglar.
- 18:24Speaker 1: They want the bright yellows and reds and all that,
- 18:27Speaker 1: you know, family fundness.
- 18:28Speaker 3: And you gotta think that most of the people going
- 18:30Speaker 3: there are kids or teenagers. You know, they used to
- 18:33Speaker 3: have the play palaces with the ball pits and everything
- 18:36Speaker 3: like that.
- 18:37Speaker 2: So a good hack for McDonald's. I don't know what
- 18:40Speaker 2: do you usually got when you go there.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Now I get the Big Mac, and I never got
- 18:43Speaker 1: the Big Mac until two years ago. Never had a
- 18:45Speaker 1: Big Mac in my entire life.
- 18:46Speaker 3: I'm gonna I'm gonna change your life right now, Okay.
- 18:48Speaker 3: So I used to always get the Big Mac as well. Yeah,
- 18:50Speaker 3: and then my buddy gave.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Me this tip.
- 18:52Speaker 3: First of all, you don't need the extra bread in
- 18:54Speaker 3: the middle, right, And it's like nine dollars for a
- 18:58Speaker 3: big Mac, or if you get the meal, it's you know,
- 18:59Speaker 3: fifth teen dollars or whatever it is. So what I
- 19:01Speaker 3: do is I get two mcdoubles, I get no ketchup,
- 19:05Speaker 3: no onion, and then I add Max sauce. So it's
- 19:09Speaker 3: basically a big Mac without the extra bread in the middle.
- 19:13Speaker 3: And they're like two eighty three dollars.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Each, so you can add max sauce.
- 19:18Speaker 2: I could add Max sauce anything you want.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Oh really, yep, why I've never even.
- 19:22Speaker 2: I know I didn't either. My body told me that.
- 19:23Speaker 2: I'm like, wow, really okay.
- 19:24Speaker 1: But I like the onions. You don't like the onions.
- 19:26Speaker 3: I'm not an onion guy, so no, I get no onions.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Plus there's so many of them, I can't.
- 19:31Speaker 1: I think that's something I'm gonna have to try. But
- 19:33Speaker 1: I love when they're perfect. The fries, that's McDonald's fries.
- 19:37Speaker 2: They write out salted.
- 19:39Speaker 1: There's nothing better. You don't even need ketchup half the time.
- 19:41Speaker 2: It's just I actually lift them in the barbecue sauce.
- 19:44Speaker 2: I'm I'm a fan of their barbecue sauce.
- 19:46Speaker 1: What I like to do is, first of all, my
- 19:49Speaker 1: order growing up was just like a Hamburger happy meal.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Then you eventually graduate to a cheeseburger happy meal. Then
- 19:54Speaker 1: the two cheeseburger meal was my thing. And I take
- 19:57Speaker 1: the French fries, I take the bun off, and then
- 19:59Speaker 1: I'd lay the fries on the actual you know patty
- 20:02Speaker 1: and then put that over it. And my buddy Kenny
- 20:05Speaker 1: taught me that. He was a big fellow. He was like,
- 20:07Speaker 1: check this out. I'm like oh. And then I started
- 20:09Speaker 1: implementing that and all my you know ways of eating.
- 20:12Speaker 1: I would add different things and concoctions and whatnot. But
- 20:15Speaker 1: it all started with seeing somebody add fries. And then
- 20:18Speaker 1: the ice cream that they have there, if it is working,
- 20:21Speaker 1: is really good. I mean, they have options. I think
- 20:24Speaker 1: their apple pies are fantastic. They got cookies, they have
- 20:28Speaker 1: like I mentioned the history of me going there. So
- 20:31Speaker 1: McDonald's is just uh, nothing will top it. I hate
- 20:35Speaker 1: when people bash it. I just don't understand it. And
- 20:38Speaker 1: McDonald's sprite, oh my god, what do you get? You
- 20:43Speaker 1: get the sprite or.
- 20:44Speaker 3: I usually get coke? Yeah, I usually get a coke.
- 20:47Speaker 3: And it's just different. It just hits different out of
- 20:49Speaker 3: the you know gun in the McDonald's cup.
- 20:52Speaker 1: But now they're they're fucking with us at least then
- 20:54Speaker 1: the McDonald's that I go to. First of all, I
- 20:56Speaker 1: went to McDonald's and Rockfelle Center, not the hint of
- 20:58Speaker 1: a human being taking order. Now it's all like digitally computers,
- 21:02Speaker 1: and I'm like, how is you know, ninety year old
- 21:05Speaker 1: woman supposed to click buttons?
- 21:07Speaker 2: Like we work everywhere we go now, CVS, check yourself out.
- 21:12Speaker 3: McDonald's, you place your own order. I'm shocked they don't
- 21:14Speaker 3: ask you to go in the back and cook it.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Dude, I went to that place that gave me all
- 21:18Speaker 1: that stomach issues. I'm not going to say what it was.
- 21:20Speaker 1: But then they flip the you know, the little thing
- 21:22Speaker 1: over and the like how much do you want to tip?
- 21:24Speaker 1: I'm like, for what? You're not? I tip if I'm
- 21:28Speaker 1: being served. If I'm sitting at a restaurant and a
- 21:31Speaker 1: waiter or waitress delivers my food to me, you get
- 21:34Speaker 1: the tip. If I'm just waiting at a counter and
- 21:36Speaker 1: you say, here's your order, why am I tipping you?
- 21:39Speaker 1: And then the suggested tips are like six dollars and
- 21:41Speaker 1: fifty sets. I'm like six dollars. I could get a
- 21:44Speaker 1: full meal at some of these places for six dollars.
- 21:46Speaker 3: And then you're just in an awkward position because you're
- 21:48Speaker 3: like standing there and you're like, do I want to
- 21:50Speaker 3: hit no tip?
- 21:51Speaker 2: Do I want to leave a couple dollars? They see it, right, away,
- 21:54Speaker 2: I think so. I think they probably do.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Do they do anything of like lo But.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Like you said, like I go to the diner before
- 22:00Speaker 3: bowling sometimes and I sit at the counter right, so
- 22:04Speaker 3: somebody's still bringing me my food and I and I
- 22:07Speaker 3: leave a good tip. But like you said, if I
- 22:08Speaker 3: go up there and I just get it to go order,
- 22:11Speaker 3: like why am I tipping you?
- 22:12Speaker 1: Why? When does it end? Yeah, then that's just everything.
- 22:15Speaker 1: You get a tip. Oh you work at Target and
- 22:17Speaker 1: you're ringing someone up, here's a tip, Yeah, for what
- 22:19Speaker 1: you did. She did the same thing, the you know,
- 22:21Speaker 1: the person behind the counter of this other place dead.
- 22:24Speaker 1: So I'm not a fan of that. I feel like
- 22:25Speaker 1: McDonald's doesn't ask for tips though, but a lot of
- 22:27Speaker 1: these newer places the most definitely ask for tips. But
- 22:32Speaker 1: just not a fan of that. But I am a
- 22:34Speaker 1: huge fan of McDonald's and it is it's always going
- 22:36Speaker 1: to be number one. And like I said, I just
- 22:39Speaker 1: I don't get the hate that people have towards fast food.
- 22:42Speaker 1: No one's forcing you to have it, and you know,
- 22:45Speaker 1: it's up to the parents, in my opinion, because a
- 22:48Speaker 1: lot of people are worried about their children being unhealthy.
- 22:51Speaker 1: If you regulate it. And you say we're gonna get
- 22:54Speaker 1: McDonald's once every three weeks.
- 22:56Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like a special no issue with that, Like
- 22:58Speaker 3: you do good in school. I'm gonna take it McDonald's.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Three nights a week, we're having McDonald's. And it's but
- 23:03Speaker 3: that's the thing. It's it's easy. They're everywhere. You know,
- 23:07Speaker 3: you just drive up real quick and you got your
- 23:08Speaker 3: food in five minutes. You don't have to go home
- 23:10Speaker 3: cook a meal. Stuff like that.
- 23:11Speaker 1: It's kind of expensive though.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Well, yeah, everything's getting expensive, dude.
- 23:15Speaker 1: You know, I remember getting this food when I was younger.
- 23:18Speaker 1: It was like, you know, they had the dollar meal.
- 23:20Speaker 1: You just got like a dollar double cheeseburger. It was like, now,
- 23:24Speaker 1: like you said, you get the big mac meal, you know,
- 23:26Speaker 1: fifteen bucks.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Yeah, that's why.
- 23:28Speaker 3: That's why I said that that five dollar deal at
- 23:30Speaker 3: Wendy's is can't beat it. And it started out at
- 23:33Speaker 3: four dollars probably maybe like three years.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Ago, so that that already went up.
- 23:37Speaker 1: You look at some of these old menu prices, you're like, damn, I.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Have fifty cents for a hamburger.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Another thing that McDonald's has is a lot of them.
- 23:46Speaker 1: You have to like go up to the people for
- 23:48Speaker 1: barbecue sauce. I mean back in the day used to
- 23:50Speaker 1: be able to just pump the thing and barbecue. Is
- 23:52Speaker 1: there a shortage or are people stealing the barbecue sauce?
- 23:56Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 23:57Speaker 3: So sometimes I'll order from McDonald or Wendy's or Burger
- 24:01Speaker 3: king on like door dash or something. Yeah, And if
- 24:04Speaker 3: you get say you get like a six piece nugget,
- 24:07Speaker 3: they only give you one sauce, and then if you
- 24:09Speaker 3: want more, you actually have to pay for it.
- 24:11Speaker 2: It's like a quarter or like fifty cents.
- 24:13Speaker 3: You know how many times I pay for extra and
- 24:15Speaker 3: then it comes and there's either none in there or
- 24:18Speaker 3: only one. And I'm just not going to, you know,
- 24:23Speaker 3: argue over twenty five cents because they didn't put it in.
- 24:26Speaker 3: But it's very annoying that they charge you for it
- 24:27Speaker 3: now and then they still don't even give it to
- 24:29Speaker 3: you half the time.
- 24:30Speaker 1: And another one last thing on this because we could
- 24:32Speaker 1: talk about fast food. Actually I have two more things.
- 24:34Speaker 1: I just lied ketchup packets. That needs to end because
- 24:38Speaker 1: the barbecue sauce has it right. You know, you pull
- 24:41Speaker 1: the thing and you could actually dip it in you
- 24:43Speaker 1: open a ketchup packet. First of all, if your hands
- 24:46Speaker 1: are greasy, it's impossible to fucking open. Yeah, and then
- 24:48Speaker 1: you squeeze it out and it's like one thing. So
- 24:52Speaker 1: what are we doing with this?
- 24:53Speaker 3: I'm trying to think of where it is. It might
- 24:55Speaker 3: be Chick fil A somewhere they actually have have the
- 25:00Speaker 3: hinds catch up in something, because I exists.
- 25:04Speaker 2: It's like the same thing.
- 25:05Speaker 3: It's like a little container that you just ripped the
- 25:07Speaker 3: top off, like the barbecue sauce of the honey mustard.
- 25:10Speaker 2: But I can't remember exactly. It might be Chick fil A,
- 25:12Speaker 2: but I can't remember.
- 25:13Speaker 1: It's It's packets are ridiculous. We need to we need
- 25:16Speaker 1: to change that. And I noticed none of us mentioned burger.
- 25:19Speaker 2: I was actually gonna bring that up to you too.
- 25:21Speaker 3: I think that that that's definitely an honorable mention for me,
- 25:25Speaker 3: And I think the whopper itself is probably top three
- 25:30Speaker 3: burgers from a fast food place. Yeah, just like I said,
- 25:34Speaker 3: I don't like their fries. Their their nuggets are fine,
- 25:37Speaker 3: and they're actually very well priced. You can get like
- 25:39Speaker 3: eight for like two seventy and like an eight piece
- 25:43Speaker 3: nugget McDonald's like eight dollars. But some of the places
- 25:46Speaker 3: have deals where you can get like a forty pack
- 25:48Speaker 3: of nuggets. Oh, when we were in Myrtle Beach, they
- 25:53Speaker 3: actually have a basket of fries as well. Oh, here
- 25:56Speaker 3: we only have small medium wors. They have a basket
- 25:58Speaker 3: for like five bucks.
- 25:59Speaker 1: A lot of places different states have different sort of things,
- 26:01Speaker 1: Like they have a lot of seafood options, I think
- 26:03Speaker 1: for different fast food places you know in Maine and whatnot.
- 26:06Speaker 3: And usually as you go south, they put ketchup and
- 26:08Speaker 3: mustard on your burgers. Mustard, yeah, not a muster guys.
- 26:12Speaker 1: I'm not a mustard guy, Pio.
- 26:13Speaker 3: But I like Wendy's and they only put mayo on
- 26:16Speaker 3: their burgers. I'm a ketchup mayo guy.
- 26:18Speaker 2: I like catchup mayo, like I like on the Whopper.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Tastes so good with the catchup mayo.
- 26:24Speaker 1: I haven't had Burger King in so long because I
- 26:26Speaker 1: felt like it was more adult tasting, if that makes sense, Like, Okay,
- 26:30Speaker 1: that's a real burger.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Like that tasted like I because it's on the Girl exactly,
- 26:34Speaker 2: and I was like.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yucky. But McDonald's is just it's something different.
- 26:38Speaker 3: Like if I want that, I'll just grow one at home,
- 26:40Speaker 3: Like I want the Nasty Burger.
- 26:42Speaker 2: I get it.
- 26:43Speaker 1: So, but I'm wondering now, you know, I'm more of
- 26:45Speaker 1: an adult as I'm wearing. I know I am wearing
- 26:47Speaker 1: an adult shirt. It's a Matt shirts. Usually it's like
- 26:49Speaker 1: a Ninja turtle thing. But I wonder now, as my
- 26:53Speaker 1: palate has expanded, if i'd like Burger King because I
- 26:55Speaker 1: couldn't tell you the last time I had it.
- 26:57Speaker 2: If you do go with the whopper?
- 26:59Speaker 1: So what is the whoppers? It's just a basic burger.
- 27:02Speaker 3: Yeah, just a regular burger, but it's big. It's flame
- 27:05Speaker 3: grilled lettuce, tomato, onion pickle, catch up mayo, So I
- 27:10Speaker 3: get no tomato, no one I.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Would get no mao. And then their fries you say,
- 27:14Speaker 1: are so far?
- 27:16Speaker 2: Yeah, not my favorite.
- 27:18Speaker 1: They used to have this pie. It was like a
- 27:19Speaker 1: Hershey pie came in like a triangle for me.
- 27:22Speaker 2: I think they still have that. Oh that was good man.
- 27:24Speaker 3: Yeah, they have the thick fries and sometimes if they're
- 27:27Speaker 3: salted right, they're not bad.
- 27:29Speaker 2: But a lot of times they're not, and they're just
- 27:30Speaker 2: very blah.
- 27:31Speaker 1: You're going out to eat tonight, right, you mentioned?
- 27:33Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, we're going to restaurant in Rockless.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Is that a burger place? What is it?
- 27:37Speaker 3: No, it used to be it was the George Martin
- 27:39Speaker 3: Burger Bar, and now it's called the Jewors.
- 27:42Speaker 1: You did it have any affiliation with the Yeah.
- 27:44Speaker 2: I believe it's still them. They just changed the name.
- 27:46Speaker 1: And what do you get there?
- 27:48Speaker 2: No, So we went there once.
- 27:50Speaker 3: We got three or four appetizers and three or four
- 27:54Speaker 3: entrees and just split it between the four of us
- 27:56Speaker 3: just because we wanted to kind of try, you know,
- 27:58Speaker 3: a bunch of stuff out.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Not it's not cheap, but it's not like overly priced.
- 28:03Speaker 3: I think, uh, maybe like three hundred for the four of.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Us, plus we'll each have get drinks.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Yeah, we each had two drinks each, I think.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Yeah, and like that sweat tip and everything.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Yeah, three or four appetizers and three or four entrees
- 28:17Speaker 3: and everything was delicious.
- 28:19Speaker 2: So that's why we're going back.
- 28:20Speaker 1: I don't know what I want to get now, all
- 28:22Speaker 1: this food talk.
- 28:24Speaker 2: You're gonna hit all five of them and get one
