This year’s RAGBRAI route makes a historic stop at Iowa’s true geographic center—near Nevada—where riders pedal through the heart of the state. Pinpointed in 1979 by cartographers Scott Porter and a colleague, the spot is now a cherished landmark for locals, including current owners Loren and Ruth Book, who plan to welcome riders with a photo sign and hope to install permanent markers.
