Today, I'm a little under the weather, so maybe we can talk about health? Lucas: That's a perfect topic. And you know, if Fexingo has been helping you learn Cantonese for real situations like this, listeners can support the show at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. It keeps us ad-free and focused on teaching. Luna: Yeah, it's a small way to say thanks if you find these episodes useful. Now, Lucas, teach me how to say 'I feel unwell'. Lucas: Sure. To say 'I feel unwell', you say Say it with me: 我唔舒服. That's not too hard. What if I have a fever? Lucas: Then you say 我發燒. Try it: 我發燒. Luna: 我發燒. I'm just imagining being sick. Maybe a headache too? Lucas: Exactly. 'I have a headache' is 我頭痛. Say it: 我頭痛. Luna: 我頭痛. Okay, I think I need to see a doctor. Lucas: That's the next phrase: 'I need to see a doctor' — 我要睇醫生. Good. And then the doctor tells me to take medicine. Lucas: Right. 'Take medicine' is 食藥. It literally means 'eat medicine'. Can you say it? Luna: 食藥. Got it. So let me practice all five: 我唔舒服, 我發燒, 我頭痛, 我要睇醫生, 食藥. Lucas: Perfect. Now let's imagine a quick scene. You go to the clinic and say: 我唔舒服, 我頭痛. Luna: 我唔舒服, 我頭痛. Lucas: The doctor asks if you have a fever. You say: 我發燒. Luna: 我發燒. Lucas: Then you say: 我要睇醫生. Luna: Wait, you're already seeing the doctor! But okay, I'll say: 我要睇醫生. Lucas: And the doctor tells you: 食藥. So you need to 食藥. Luna: Right, 食藥. This is really helpful. I could actually use these phrases if I'm in Hong Kong and feeling sick. Lucas: Absolutely. And remember, you can always say 我唔舒服 to let someone know you're not feeling well. Let's do a quick review: I feel unwell? Lucas: I have a fever? Luna: 我發燒. Lucas: I have a headache? Luna: 我頭痛. Lucas: I need to see a doctor? Lucas: Take medicine? Luna: 食藥. Lucas: Great job, Luna. You've got them down. And listeners, practice these with your friends. Next time, we'll explore another useful scenario. Luna: Thanks, Lucas. I hope I don't need these soon, but it's good to know. See you all next time!
