- KayOhKnee: Welcome back to the podcast. I'm your co-host, Kenny McKeagan. And with me today on the fifth down is my boy from the fifth down, Nolan Chang. Say what's up to the pod, Nolan. Nolan: Hello everybody, how are How are we doing now? All right, noted. KayOhKnee: But Nolan: Maybe it's because it I thought it was supposed to be dual side. But maybe not, so yeah. Yeah. Woo! I tried something new. You never know unless you try, guys. KayOhKnee: it sounded like you were on the other side of the mic. That does make sense. gotcha. Okay. well anyway, we are so Nolan tried something new, it didn't work out. you never know unless you try, and that is exactly that's not a great transition. I don't know what that was. I was gonna say that's exactly why you should head on over to W dot GG. Uh-huh. Nolan: 'Cause if you haven't tried it, you'll never know. KayOhKnee: Okay, yeah, that's right. Cause our partners are W Energy. You head on over to W.g. or use the W energy app and our promo code, which is pointsoy. That's P-O-I-N-S-O-I for ten percent off your order. Nolan, let's continue this conversation into the consensus rankings tier two. yes, so if you have been following our series as of late, especially with you know the last couple of podcasts, you know, we went went through our tiers And we're starting our boomer bus series. We are currently in tier two of that series. So head on over back to our other podcast if you want to see tier one. we did drop that last week, but we do have our consensus rankings. And like I mentioned last time, in case you're not aware, in case this is the first time you're catching this series and you haven't gone to see tier one, we will be doing a consensus rankings of our own rankings. So that's myself and Nolan and the Fantasy Pros. rankings and we'll be putting them together to make our own and in this one we'll be talking about tier two of said rankings. So let's see if this thing that I'm trying to share for all you people at home you're not gonna be able to see this obviously but you know when you hop into the video on YouTube you'll be able to see it because everybody should do that because it's great and we put in a lot of effort to edit these things and it's doing that thing again like I mentioned earlier. But anyway, yeah. let's come on, give me one second. Give me one second. Bang. Okay. There we go. And I'm gonna hide this real quick. Bang. Bang! Bang. Okay. So, anyways, that was for the W thing. I'm gonna skip that one. We do have the Poi and Soy consensus rankings for quarterbacks to start off the rip. Nolan, we have the next eight players in this ranking. And as you can see on top of the visual here, we have you see where they moved from where we put them and from where the fantasy pros are. Nolan: Like golf scores. KayOhKnee: consistency rankings had them so yeah exactly. so to start off the rip at the top of tier two for quarterbacks we have Jackson Dart, then Jalen Hurts, Brock Purdy, Trevor Lawrence, Matthew Stafford, Kyler Murray, Patrick Mahomes, and Bone Nicks. you're seeing the differences there. Obviously we moved up a couple guys including Jackson Dart, Brock Purdy, Matt Stafford, and Kyler Murray, and then we moved down a few guys. Jalen Hurts, Trevor Lawrence, Patrick Mahomes, and Bone Nicks. So Nolan I'm gonna throw it over to you first. Who is your boom for this quarterback position? Actually better f before we get into that, anybody here from you that is surprising that they moved up, moved down, throughout this little ranking that we made? Nolan: overall not surprising, I would say. I mean, probably more so than than like true consensus rankings. Kyler Murray, I think, is the kind of the outlier I would say. just because we we don't know what Kyler Murray we're gonna get, but we have a lot of hope that is gonna be a little bit more returning to form of what he used to be, in his new setting with a great QP coach, the QP Whisperer, if you will, with some high powered weapons. KayOhKnee: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Nolan: So I think that's probably the most surprising 'cause I'm pretty sure just based off of this, clearly he has moved up into our tier two compared to where he is consensus wise. So that would be my one surprise one. KayOhKnee: Yeah. I was like that was gonna be my exact one too. So I guess not really surprising for us because we're the ones who moved him up here, you know what I mean? but as far as, you know, surprising for the rankings in general. But Nolan, let's get over to who is your boom candidate for the tier two quarterbacks. Nolan: Yeah. My boom is Trevor Lawrence. Trevor Lawrence, he has b had some up and down seasons, I would say. overall. He's he's still a very, very serviceable quarterback, but coming into this season KayOhKnee: Mm-hmm. Nolan: Liam Cohen's offense he's getting more used to. He's got three great wide receivers in Parker Washington, Jacoby Myers, and BTJ, as well as Brenton Strange, as well as getting something really, really hopefully good with Bajil Tootin as well. this is an offense that he literally it's his to mess up. KayOhKnee: Mm-hmm. Yes. Nolan: I would say. th that's and he's the boom candidate exactly for that reason is because, you know, whether there's coverage on one guy or another, he has so many options to actually get things done and I think that this is gonna be really fun. KayOhKnee: Yeah. Nolan: in tandem with how Liam Cohen runs his offense. We saw what he did last year. unfortunately BTJ was just not the guy that we thought he was gonna be in his sophomore season. but that being said, Liam Cohen's offense is built to have an offensive rush the whole time. So I think that this is gonna be a huge season for Trevor Lawrence and for the team franchise in general to really make some noise over there. KayOhKnee: Mm-hmm. yeah. Yeah. I was like Nolan: Yeah, I I would say so. I think he has the you know, based off of us doing tiers of eight for a quarterback position, he definitely can push up into that top eight. Yeah. I'm not gonna say like a top five, but you know, he'll get in there. KayOhKnee: Mm-hmm. okay, I like that. I'm I've you know, I wouldn't be surprised if he hits like a top six finish. You know, I mean it wouldn't really surprise me for him to finish that high. yeah, I agree. I like the thoughts. I was like Liam Cohen's offense and him just feels like a match made in heaven, man. finally he got some good yeah. Yeah. Nolan: Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean you look at the stats also. Like twenty nine TDs plus nine Russian TDs, that's that's really something really spectacular if we're going up Yeah. KayOhKnee: yeah. Yeah, one hundred percent. Especially for fantasy. You definitely want the the double upside there for you. so that actually is a great segue into what is gonna be my boom candidate for the tier twos, and that is Kyler Murray. you know, you're looking at the statistics here, obviously they look terrible because this was last year and he was injured. but you know, gonna read off a couple of fantasy finishes for you since he was drafted in twenty nineteen. He finishes QB eight, QB three, QB ten. QB nineteen, nineteen, eleven, and thirty-nine. in the couple seasons that he finished as QB nineteen and the send and obviously including this last season where he finished at thirty nine, he didn't actually finish below QB twelve in points per game. So as far as fantasy points per game, he's always finished as what is technically a QB one. just been hampered by these injuries. And I think everything you're hearing out of the Vikings camp is that he's picking up the offense very quickly. He's obviously shown that he has pretty solid report with Justin Jefferson. Justin Jefferson has been speaking all of the praises for him throughout training camp. And he is clearly the guy that is going to be starting for them day one. when they finally finish all this training camp stuff. Hopefully he can stay healthy through all that and then again healthy throughout the season. But this was a guy who was an MVP candidate. I have him as somebody who I feel like could be an absolute boon, especially where he's being drafted right now. As you saw from our graphic here. well, for those of you that don't be probably didn't see, but he did move up into our tier two from tier three. I mean, he moved up three spots from where they have him listed, and where he's probably gonna get drafted. To me, it just makes a ton of sense that this guy is gonna be a boon from this tier two group. and then on top of that, I mean, y this is like the perfect situation for Kyler Murray. he has a depth of targets now, which he never had his entire career. Obviously, you think back to the DeAndre Hopkins season. seasons, excuse me. that was about the only weapon he had when DeAndre Hopkins was in tow. Now he has Justin Jefferson, he has Jordan Addison, he has T TJ Hawkinson, he has Juwan Jennings. I mean this is a very, very deep team. Aaron Jones, if you want to throw him in there as well. High rushing upside. I mean Nolan: And Jordan Mason? KayOhKnee: And Jordan Mason. I forgot like if Jordan Mason is like a really good receiving back. That's the reason why I said Aaron Jones. Yeah. Yeah, I mean he can rush. That's automatic. I he rushes, so that's I mean, that's the only reason I didn't include him in the list. And then on top of that, I mean, if you look at all of the statistics of him throwing, he has the lowest A dot. And for those who are unaware, A dot is average depth of target, which means that Nolan: I was kidding. doesn't matter anymore. KayOhKnee: He throws the ball pretty close to that line. Obviously, we already know made lots of jokes in here about his height and his inability to see over that offensive line. That's perfect when you have a team full of targets that are big and are very good at getting into that sort of cross section within the middle of the field. So perfect for him, perfect offense, great coach. I just think it's a great situation for Kyler Murray to be and that's why I have him as my boom candidate for tier two quarterbacks. So Nolan, on the flip side of this, we gotta talk about our busts. So who is your potential bust candidate from the QB two position? Ranking. I don't know what we're calling this anymore. Tier or whatever. Yeah. I'm trying to avoid that word, but it's hard. No, I say it's hard to avoid that word, but that's the word we're using, yeah. Nolan: I thought you froze and I was like, huh. my potential bandidate is Bo Nix. look, we we've been talking about this for I would say a good part of a a year now. Bo Nix has a very good situation. you know, his interceptions are not necessarily very high in comparison to the the other QBs in this tier. I believe he's actually lower than Trevor Lawrence's interceptions, but his QB percentage r completion percentage, sorry. KayOhKnee: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Nolan: is terrible. It's like fifty five fifty five, fifty-six percent. and I think most of the that's weighted because a lot of his completions for some reason show up in the fourth quarter, which is great. Fantastic. You're a clutch player, but as a premier QB on a team that is content potentially contending, I mean I would I would put them in the contender side of things. you need someone who's gonna be from the start of the the game to the end of the game is going to be having a much higher completion rating. KayOhKnee: yeah, a hundred percent. Mm-hmm. Nolan: Fantastic that he now has Jalen Waddle there. So maybe that'll kind of increase the likelihood of him boosting up in our rankings. But I just can't trust him yet, especially coming off of that ankle injury and he's still recovering. He's probably gonna be okay for training camp. I I that's just missed time for him to work on the fine and fine-tune a lot of things that he lacked last season. and in that regard, I can't necessarily KayOhKnee: Mm-hmm. Nolan: I can't I can't take him higher. I think he is gonna be that guy who's probably gonna bust. he's gonna be a quarterback that you maybe can rely on for those thirteen to fifteen points a week, but in in the fantasy, like you're not going for a quarterback that's gonna give you those numbers. You want someone that's really gonna bring you something more fruitful for your whole season long. KayOhKnee: Yeah, you know, I would mostly tend to agree with the Bonicks. The only kind of not opposite tick I guess I have, but the only kind of pushback I have with Bonicks specifically is just where he's getting drafted. I don't mind grabbing a guy who was like seen as like a top five quarterback last year, you know, somewhere in like the fifteen or, you know, ten to fifteen range, which is where he's fallen, with all of the projections. So yeah, I mean Nolan: Yeah, yeah. I hope he's not your QB one. That that's what I'm gonna t putting into this air. Like, I don't want him to be your QB one. If you take him at QB one, it's busting. KayOhKnee: That's a yeah. I it's funny. Yeah. It's funny you say that 'cause that that's kind of where my mind was at, but I was like I also have Drake May as my keeper this year, so you know what I mean. Like pairing the two of them together, I mean yeah, I mean it makes a ton of sense. But yeah, I was like Nolan: Wow, I'm so happy for you. Watch me get him as QB one. Good thing I have Jackson, you know? KayOhKnee: you wait long enough. I was like, Yeah, good thing you have Jackson because my bus candidate is actually Jackson Dart. that was it was funny that you sa you brought him up, but yeah, I mean, you know, unfortunately the Jackson Dart situation really comes down to a couple of things. One of the biggest things is who his offensive coordinator slash play callers will be for Nolan: son of a What a segue. my god. KayOhKnee: This upcoming season. his offensive coordinator is gonna be Matt Nagy, who was with the 23-25 Chiefs, and then of course the 18-21 Bears before that as the OC. And then he got Brian Callahan as his passing game coordinator. So Brian Callahan, in case you guys don't know, was the guy who just basically drove the Tennessee Titans into the ground the last couple of years. was supposed to be this, you know, big offensive mind that was gonna help Cam Ward sort of take the next step. Nolan: What? KayOhKnee: Obviously that did not pan out, and now he's out of the job, but he is here as their passing game coordinator. the thing with Matt Nagy, he is trying to be sort of the run forward offensive coordinator, and they're sort of in this weird dual I mean, I guess dual role thing with him and Brian Callahan. I'm not sure why Harbaugh them both in, but I guess if you Nolan: Mm-hmm. KayOhKnee: think about it in one sense is like you have one guy who is more run heavy and that is Matt Nagy, and then you have one guy who is sort of like the air air raid specialist in Brian Callahan, assuming you'd mesh those very well, but the unf the thing that I'm gonna find pretty hard for this Giants team in in particular. One, you have both of them on the sideline trying to call plays, which is gonna be You know, sort of this weird tete ar tete all year, which I just can't imagine is gonna go great. and two, you have a quarterback who is not necessarily known to be a playbook aficionado. He's not somebody who is studying the pay playbooks really well. He's not the guy who knows the concepts all the way. I mean, he's kind of more of a feel it out player. I'm worried that with the new offensive stuff that they're gonna be throwing at him, especially with the movement, the the pre-snap stuff, I mean we I if you've got to watch that John Gruden interview, you know that he doesn't really have a snap count. So that's another thing that's gonna be kind of hampering his ability to make plays. There's just a lot of signs pointing to this possibly being a bus season for Jackson Dart, especially now when you consider that he's pretty high in the rankings. I mean he's only climbing every single day. they have him moving higher and higher, even from when we originally originally made the the list till I mean when I decided to put together these graphics for all the people on YouTube, he moved up even more. So it's like his his upside is climbing him higher and higher in the rankings. I'm worried that drafting him at his value is a bad value. For you know yourself, you have him in the 16th round. That's great. You know, I mean I think that's perfect. That's the exact type of yeah, that's it that's the exact type yeah, that's the exact type of upside value that you want to have in a guy like that. But if you're drafting him at value Nolan: I'm safe for this season. KayOhKnee: That's where I'm a little worried about drafting him. And then on top of that, you have his propensity to get injured, which he I mean, is already showing signs of that sort of needs to be smarter when it comes to choosing when to run and when not to run. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. And I mean the rushing attempts are there, obviously. You're seeing the you're seeing the stats here where he rushed eighty six times, got four hundred eighty seven yards, rushed for nine TDs. Nolan: I mean he gets sacked thirty five times, you know what I mean? Like Yeah, I mean we're yeah. KayOhKnee: I mean and then he threw for fifteen on top of that. And this was without, you know, his number one weapons, this was without a full year under his belt. The upside is there, clearly. I mean, he's a guy who's very talented. He's somebody that they basically handed the keys from, you know, when they finally let him start. I just think that there is a lot of factors being thrown into here. And on top of that, Harbaugh is a defensive guy. He is a he's a grinded out guy. We're not entirely we've never really seen him be an offensive guy, and there's a reason why he's no longer with the Baltimore Ravens. So I'm I'm just worried. I'm erring on the side of caution when it comes to Jackson Dart, just because there are just so many signs pointing to this not being the best season for him. It might be on field in real life, great. Fantasy wise, it might not be great. And that's the only reason I'm I'm a little worried for Jackson Dart. But qualms, issues. Yeah, yeah. No. That's the that yeah. I was like, that's the other thing. Yeah. Yeah. Nolan: Sorry, I'm just gonna go change my just gonna go change my keeper now, you know? No, I mean I I'm in agreement with where where where your point is at where where he's being kind of boosted up in ADPs and then where he's probably gonna fall back down. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like for me, thankfully my situation is a lot more fluid and safe for the fact that I'm keeping him, but yeah, I I mean KayOhKnee: Yeah. Where you got is great. That's why I think it's perfect for you. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Nolan: If I were to have both Bo Nicks and Jackson Dart on my team at the end of at the end of the draft, I'd be like, all right, I hope I have one more QB or something. KayOhKnee: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I was like the final point I was gonna say is that like Brian Callahan is supposed to be this like quarterback whisperer because he was the OC with Joe Burrow in Cincinnati. It's Joe Burrow. Like, you know what I mean? Like it's like Yeah. How much of a quarterback whisperer do you need to be when you have quite possibly one of the top three talents in the entire NFL? So I don't know. I took that one with a grain of salt. It will be interesting to see. Hopefully it can be better. I would like for him to be, but just where he's being drafted, that's the only reason why I'm having tough time putting him up here in the QB two. And if you look at our list, he's at the top of QB two, so even more so. Nolan: He was a phenom comin' out of college already. KayOhKnee: Anyway, let's move on to the running back position. I had to double check. I could have I couldn't remember if I put running backs on wide receivers next. anyway, these are the Poinsoy Fantasy Football League consensus rankings for running backs. So at the very top of RB2, we have Jeremiah. Next is Derek Henry. Following him is Josh Jacobs, Travis Etienne, Cam Scadaboo. Nolan: Wa KayOhKnee: Kyron Williams, Javante Williams, Quinshawn Judkins, Xavion Henderson, DeAndre Swift, Bucky Irving, and David Montgomery. You know, one of the things I've learned as we've you know, gone through these podcasts is that there are a lot of people with some very interesting ways to spell their names, you know? Did not know DeAndre had the little without the E, you know what I mean? I was like, I thought I was spelling it wrong. Nope, that's that's the way. Even Trevion. Nolan: That's fair. I mean like technically when you look at your app it just says like D Swift most of the time. KayOhKnee: Yeah, I was like Travion with the uppercase V. Didn't know that one. What was the other one? Kyron with the uppercase R. Another one. Like, you know, just just like the LeBron. You know what I mean? Yeah. Kinda. yeah, you're right. anyway, so you're seeing the rankings here. Nolan, anything that surprised you for this one because obviously you're seeing where they were originally from where we moved them. Nolan: Yeah, yeah. Yeah. It's it's a new wave of names, you know. Yeah. no, I wouldn't say necessarily anything super surprising. I think most of these are kind of on brand. I mean the Yeah. okay, my bad, my bad. but I mean the depth of movement is is pretty pretty on brand with what we had with QBs. obviously I think the the Chiron dropping down from where consensus is is probably because just based off of our conversations regarding how KayOhKnee: it doesn't have to be super surprising, just surprising. Nolan: involved quorum will be. So I think that would maybe be the surprising one, but it's it's not necessarily something that makes me kinda like widen my eyes too much. but yeah, moving on into it, my boom candidate is none other than Cam Scatabo. And I guess this technically does kind of play off of what you were just talking about with Jackson Dart. This is gonna be a interesting looking offense with the two coordinators, but it's also one that they've been very vocal about. It's gonna be a run heavy one. And I think that's gonna be KayOhKnee: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Go ahead. Nolan: where he's gonna start singing, you know. he didn't get his full season last year. His math wasn't mathing when he said what his yards were gonna be based off of c attempts. and, you know, we've always talked about it his Yeah, yep. I just need I just need you that one season though, dog. You know KayOhKnee: Mm-hmm. I was like might be early retirement for my boy, you know that that CTE hitting early, you know what I mean. We just needed you for one season, Azel Tier Azel Tier or whatever his name was. Nolan: What? but yeah, I mean his his health KayOhKnee: I just need you for one season big dog. That's crazy. Nolan: God. KayOhKnee: That's pretty funny. I may insert that meme of Azil tier when he like he just runs on the field and breaks his leg in half. come on, scam, you got this. Nolan: and then he gets backed up and starts running again. No but No but i as long as his health is kept in check and I think that this coaching staff is very well aware of what the the risk is with him. KayOhKnee: Yeah. Nolan: and they kind of maybe hone in what his his traditional running is into something that's a little bit more professional. because he's got the tenacity, you know he's got the dog in him, you know he's gonna push through and fight, break tackles, everything like that. KayOhKnee: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Nolan: And it's gonna be a run heavy offense, that just seems to be like a match made in heaven for this for this guy to be a boom candidate. And I think that based off of what you were just saying with how, you know, Jackson Dart necessarily needs to to fix some things. He's not necessarily playbook oriented. A lot of the things that have w that happen with run offense with a run play is that you don't really give the quarterback much room to kind of do any sort of options. It's going to the the running back and it's gonna push push down the middle, especially for someone like this guy. KayOhKnee: Mm-hmm. Nolan: And I think that he's gonna have a much higher finish than he did last season based off of the games played. just based off of your graphic here, obviously we have him finishing 39th overall. That's gonna be definitely higher than where he's gonna be finishing. Or this he's gonna be finishing higher than where this is showing it. And where he's being drafted right now, I think that's that's a good spot because you're gonna have a lot more upside with him moving forward. KayOhKnee: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Well wholeho wholeheartedly agree on Cam. I mean, one of the guys that's gonna be like a great value for him when you get to draft him where he's being drafted currently. I I I imagine that might be climbing higher and higher. I mean, even in our league, somebody's, you know, contemplating keeping him. So there's that interest of like his upside being there, especially from where he was drafted this last year. yeah, I really like Cam Scadaboo in this offense specifically. The only other thing I was gonna say is I'm really, really hoping they Like I would love to s like I called it in the beginning of the season or you know, preseason or whatever. or not preseason, sorry, excuse me, off season. that I would really like to see James Connor land here. There's a lot of stuff like about where he could be traded. I mean, I know Harbaugh really likes him. He's just a veteran guy that I feel like makes a ton of sense for Cam Scattaboo to learn from. Don't want him stealing too many touches. You know what I mean? That's not what I want to see for Cam. But I do also think that Cam isn't Nolan: Mm. KayOhKnee: somebody who's even to be giving up the red red zone targets or excuse me, red zone runs. You know, he's gonna have the short yardish stuff because he is kind of a burly back. I just like James Conner being here as sort of like the guy to mentor him because James Conner had the exact same sort of reputation when he was with the Steelers when he was first drafted. You know what I mean? Just take it back. Take it slow it down just a little bit. You know what I mean? Don't need to be, you know, rushing head first into everything. So yeah, love that take. Cam Scadabo is one of my favorite players from this ranking as well. So moving over to my boom candidate. My boom candidate for RB2 is actually gonna be Quinshawn Judkins. you know, everything about this Cleveland team, and I can't believe I'm even saying this right now, but everything that they've done this offseason has been positive. I mean, I can't point to one single thing that was not a positive at first. I was worried about them losing Kevin Safansky because I do feel like it wasn't Kevin Stavansky's fault. I do think that he was, you know, a really, really solid coach, but they moved off of him, brought in Todd Munkin, which is, you know, another person that has some, you know, Cleveland ties. So that's great for him that he gets to be here. on top of that, I mean, looking at this guy's play style, looking at the way that he played last year specifically, I mean, he forced one of the highest after contact yardage averages. With an offensive line that was one of the worst. and for him to be constantly attacked in the backfield and then still make it out of there and still be able to get yardage is one of the best traits that you can have as a running back specifically, because that means that you're offensive line proof essentially. You know what I mean? You could basically be on any team and still make it out of there. And that's some one of those things that I really, really enjoy about Quinchon J Judkins specifically and his run style specifically. On top of that. Nolan: Mm-hmm. Yeah. KayOhKnee: This offensive line just got a whole lot better. I mean, just reading the names from the players that they added this offseason. They added Chargers, former first rounder, Zion Johnson, signed him to a long-term contract. They added longtime Green Bay Packer interior lineman Elkton Jenkins, another big time boon for their center position. Rookie first round pick Spencer Fano, one of the best tackles from this entire group. And Titus Howard, the lone bright spot for the Texans and a former first-round pick for that team. He's a longtime veteran starter at the tackle position. So They brought in four automatic starters, day one starters for this team. we'll see how they, you know, how the chemistry and all that sort of stuff plays out throughout training camp. but they also drafted one of the best centers in this entire draft in Parker Brailsford. So quite possibly a team that could be on the rise in the next couple of years. I mean, I can't imagine they're gonna be right away off the rip. just because there is so much new stuff to adjust around. But Nolan: Yeah. KayOhKnee: Quinchon Judkins is going to be a big part of why this offense is going to be able to run. I mean, I really do liken him to what is Cleveland Royalty and Nick Chubb. He's somebody that is going to be great for them even when the team is not great. And they're obviously going through a transition period. They brought in Jared Verse. So I don't think that they lost too much on the defensive side of things here. even though obviously Miles Garrett is the clear and away better player. but I just think that they're headed for what will be a boom for this entire team. Nolan: Mm-hmm. KayOhKnee: add to that, they added a multitude of weapons, right? You have first round draft pick. Why did I yeah, Casey Conception? I was about to say Denzel. Yeah, no, no, no, Denzel Boston, not Omar Cooper is the Jets. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I was like, so see that's funny. That's that was the name I was gonna say, and then I was like, No, that's not who's on this team. It's Casey Conception, Denzel Boston. Yeah, yeah. so they added a couple new weapons there. They obviously have Harold Fannon who came into his own last year. I think that Nolan: Mm-hmm. Casey and then Omar Cooper. omar You're right, you're right, right. Same, same. Yeah. KayOhKnee: All of that is pointing to the fact that I mean they're gonna have one of the more surprising offenses. You know what I mean? I'm not gonna say one of the better ones, but they're gonna have one of the more surprising ones. And this offensive line group in and of itself is such a boon for Quinshawn Judkins and his play. yeah, this is gonna be really great for them. I'm really excited. On top of that, little extra added nugget, Travis Switzer, the offensive coordinator for this team, was actually the guy who Did the run game for the Baltimore Ravens. So he was Derrick Henry's coach that kind of helped him, you know, do what he did in the last couple of years. So not saying that Quinchon Judkins is Derrick Henry, but I mean look at that graphic, you boys, you know. yeah, and if yeah. Nolan: Mm-hmm. Yeah. But he could be But yeah, I like your pick. I do. I do. I mean look, he is eight hundred and twenty seven rushing yards. He got injured, I think it was week sixteen, like early in the game. We could have been looking at this guy as potentially hitting a thousand yards in his rookie season. I think that's no nothing to scoff at and I I'm ironic. Ironic that both our boom candidates are ones that had KayOhKnee: Yeah. Yeah. What a terrible line. Nolan: ankle injuries and during their season. but Quinshawn looks like he's already like he's ahead of schedule compared to Cam. So I think that's that's a huge thing, especially for him getting into this season with this younger high powered offense. KayOhKnee: Yeah. Yeah, I'm really, really excited for this RB group. So Nolan flips out of this, who is your best candidate for the RB two group? Nolan: give me a second because I just lost my page. there we go. My my bandidate is David Montgomery. look, we we've been talking about it. We said that an ironically eight or the consensus ranking is exactly where he fit in in our rankings. So I think that's kind of ironic, but at the same time, maybe that says a lot. he has an opportunity to kind of become that KayOhKnee: Yeah. Yeah. Nolan: RB1 that he's always dreamt doing it, but because they drafted Gibbs over in in Detroit, he just got overshadowed by the better player. is David and Montgomery like a A scrub? No, I don't think so at all. But I think his running style is a little bit more of an uphill battle for him to actually get something kind of going. that being said, having to share the field with Jameer Gibbs and still getting 716 rushing yards as the second, I think that's a big thing for him as well. The only thing is I just don't trust how this is gonna look this season because we've we've talked about what this team as a whole is gonna look like. We don't think they've made a lot of improvements and I don't think David Montgomery is gonna be the tipping point for the offense as a whole. I think he he is gonna be a serviceable running back, but I wouldn't necessarily say that I'm gonna take him as my first or second running back. I think he's going to I use this word very lightly. I don't want this to be taken out of context, but I do think he's gonna be exposed in this new offense as someone that can't necessarily be reliable as a running back one. yeah. I I I th I'm just it I don't trust it. I don't trust it. so I mean like if he falls to me as my third running back and I have the room to take him and, you know, there's KayOhKnee: Disrespect. Damn Damn. Nolan: Maybe, maybe. But it's just it's tough. I'm sorry. I just don't trust it. It's not ne necessarily just him. It's it's the that line. That line has not been any better than it was the past two seasons. KayOhKnee: It's like, yeah, no, I I mean I agree. I mean they definitely went out and tried to improve the offensive line. So I don't disagree that they I mean they made improvements, but it's how how much did they improve? We saw how bad this offensive line and this offensive group in general was last year. It's kind of been our theme with the Texans, you know what I mean? It's like they really have to prove that they could provide any sort of fantasy value when they did not do that last year. So this will be an interesting and also kind of a big Nolan: Yeah. KayOhKnee: year for this Texans offense in general. So yeah, yeah, I don't disagree with a David Munkum retake. moving on to my bus candidate. And this is probably gonna be a little bit of a surprise because of how much I've sung his praises, but my bus candidate is actually Trevion Henderson. I know. I know. I know. You know, this is this is we gotta be, you know, we gotta for the people at home. We gotta we gotta be realistic about our our takes here. elite playmaking, man. You know, I I fully believe in the upside of Trevion Henderson. if he had a workhorse role, he would be undoubtedly a top six Q or Tux top six running back in this in fantasy. I just think he's that talented. He's probably quite possibly the best big time playmaker besides Jameer Gibbs. Like I think he's one of those guys that if he breaks it off, I mean he's going for a touchdown. And you saw that multiple times last year. Nolan: Mm-hmm. KayOhKnee: So this isn't a knock on his talent in and of itself, right? This is one hundred percent having to do with where he is and what this team is trying to do this year specifically. They're clearly a team that is looking to repeat appearance in the Super Bowl. They went on and got AJ Brown. They're obviously gonna have another year of Drake May. They are looking to like really establish this core and really, really be a team to fear in the AFC specifically. But All that being said, Trevion lost trust with this team for a very specific reason. And that is that he doesn't necessarily block to the level that Mike Vrabel wants him to. he had a solid reputation for that coming in from college. So that is one thing that is a little bit surprising and could quite possibly improve. But a lot of people are pointing to his smaller stature as being one of the biggest reasons why it's not working for him. which Yeah, I it's you know it's funny, it's it's it's weird because you have so many guys that are small and do block really well, like a Jalen Warren. Like Jalen Warren is technically like a smaller back, but he's really, really good at getting underneath people's pads. Similarly, like Kenneth Gainwell is also another guy who can do really good. For some reason it didn't translate for Chevion. For some reason coming over to the NFL, for some it it just didn't carry over. And he had really good statistics Nolan: Mm. KayOhKnee: Coming in from college. So there is sort of like this if he fixes that, maybe they'll play him more. But now that they had an entire year of him, it does feel like he lost a little bit of trust with the Mike Frabel head coaching staff. yeah, and it's I mean, it's unfortunate because he is supremely talented. And obviously, with that, there's also the take of Ramadan Stevenson. I mean, we already know he's gonna be a pest for you. Trevion Henderson owners all year. This is gonna be undoubtedly what the name of this podcast is. He's gonna be a boomer bust player every single week. and you just won't know until the game happens. So, you know, you're gonna be running him out with all that risk baked into his to his, you know, week to week sor sorry, projections. But on top of that, I mean he was number one in yards before contact in the NFL. Which is really, really good, right? So this offensive line was holding up. He was able to, you know, make those cuts and do all that sort of stuff. But that did lead to him also being the guy that Mike Verbo didn't like because he was trying to bounce out of a lot of plays, which means he was essentially trying to go side to side when they just wanted him to go straight up. And that ended in a bunch of negative plays. So that's something Mike Verbo addressed to the media specifically when it came to Trevion that He would like for him to just, you know, cut it up and, you know, take the two yards as opposed to trying to make the big play every single time. It's stuff that you learn as a rookie. I think that he's still gonna that's gonna get fixed out of him. But there's just so much about where he is and with Mike Vrabel. And now we have AJ Brown who's another weapon. So I think the r I think the upside for him is just gonna be that he is gonna be the the receiving back for this group. Ramanjo Stevenson is not known for that. He'll break off big plays. He's obviously the better rusher. You're just gonna be going week to week with him as a player, and that's gonna be tough for especially when you're drafting him at value, which is right now like somewhere in the top of the third round. So anyway, Nolan, dots, qualms, points you wanna add to that one. Nolan: No, I mean he was he was the thought definitely when I was picking my best candidate and it it is nothing against his talent like you mentioned. It is just the situation he is in. You know, if it seems like Ramandre starts off the season slow, maybe he can alter into a boom candidate, but until we see something out of training camp, I am in agreement. KayOhKnee: Yeah. And that's crazy too because when you look at his statistics, I mean Yeah, I mean yeah, I mean like for that to be essentially like a fifty fifty split backfield, like I'm sorry I had to put you as a bus candidate, Trevion. but you know, we gotta gotta speak the truth here on this podcast. let's move over to the wide receiver position. So wide receiver twos Nolan: It's a nice stat line. Gotta do what you gotta do. KayOhKnee: we got our consensus rankings here for the wide receiver twos. At the very top of this we have Malik Neighbors. Next is Devontae Smith, T. Higgins, Garrett Wilson, Lad McConkey, Omeka Ibuka, Jalen Waddell, Terry McLaurin, Luther Burden the third, Mike Evans, Zay Flowers, and Rasheed Rice. Nolan, you're seeing the changes in the rankings. Anybody here that is surprising for you? Nolan: She, but that's like we get it. It's it's funny. It's it's funny. That's I mean, I don't even know if it can say negative or positive. It's just funny to see where we dropped him. Yeah, because of because of the off field antics. But you know, given how the NFL is, we don't know what necessarily is gonna happen, if anything is gonna happen. and I think that's that's the most surprising. but yeah. KayOhKnee: Like negative or positive? Like where like where? Yeah. We definitely dropped him to the bottom of this one. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I will say, yeah, he's he's I think they still have him at like pick d at number twelve or something like that. And I I I I really don't get it because it feels like they're fading a lot of guys, but for him, for some reason he's just standing pat, which is weird. Yeah. And then the Justin Fields of it all you know what I mean, there's so much, yeah, like yeah. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. Nolan: Yeah. And Alright, well my Yeah, Justin Fields connecting with Rasheed Rice who has not been able to go to OTAs and still rehabbing. Like you're gonna you're gonna it's an uphill battle for everyone. Trust us, everybody. Do we? not us at least. I know, I know, I know. Pe people, yeah. but yeah, my boom candidate for the wide receiver position is Omeka Igbuka. KayOhKnee: Like there's a lot of factors. I don't understand. Like like do we just I don't do we just love the Chiefs that much that we can't you know what I mean? Like it doesn't make sense. not we fantasy pros, yeah. Yeah. Nolan: Look, he was a phenomenal player in the first half of last season. And the reason for that is because he was used as the Z re receiver, the flanker, while Mike Evans was on the field. He had to be moved to the X once Mike Evans left the field. KayOhKnee: Yeah. Nolan: I believe if I've read correctly, he is going to be returning to the the Z receiver position. And then I think they're going to move like McMillan out to the X or something along those lines. And he'd had his best ball games as the Z. And if he can return to that with a healthy Baker Mayfield, you're going to get a takeoff year for Omeka. And he'll probably give you the season we were expecting last season. close to a thousand yards. KayOhKnee: Yeah. Nolan: Probably should have been more if Mike Evans had stayed healthy, which is ironic to say. but I do think that this is the the big ye s second year for him to actually show what he's got. And, you know, I think I think we're looking at a new franchise receiver for them and it's gonna be really fun to see. Yeah. KayOhKnee: Mm-hmm. yeah. Yeah. Agree wholeheartedly. That is why I had him also as my boom candidate for the wide receiver two group. yeah, I told you I told you before we recorded that there was a guy that I felt like I knew you were gonna pick, but I was just gonna pick him anyway because I do also really truly believe in his upside, his talent, all that sort of stuff. Nolan: Hell yeah. Hell yeah, brother. I like how you just changed the picture of him. But it's the same. I don't I know, I know, I know. KayOhKnee: I had I had to. You couldn't do this. You know what I mean? Like it had there had to be a difference there. It's like I don't know. It's funny because I was like, should I just repeat the page? But I'm like, nah, you know, it's like it's my page. You know what I mean? So it has to be has to be l slightly different. But anyway, yeah, I mean Zach Robinson, his new OC, he gets a chance to be the play caller for this group. he was a solid QB in the NFL, but more importantly, he's a guy who is not Nolan: No. KayOhKnee: quite Liam Cohen, but I mean he's the type of play caller who makes really, really solid QBs look even better. And especially when it comes to a guy like Omeka Gbuka, he's gonna be giving him a lot of route running for this team specifically. I mean he's one of the most elite route runners in the entire NFL. I mean if you look up all the statistics, I mean he carried in damn near everything from medium, short and deep routes. he's a guy who can do it all. And he has all of the talent in the world. We just didn't really get to see this team be the boon that we were expecting them to be. You know, Mike Evans is now gone, so clearly they had a belief in him as being that top guy. I think that he does co kind of c contrary to what you did say though, I I will say I do think that he's gonna be more of the X receiver in this group. because they do have Godwin who is Still we're trying to figure out what the deal is with Godwin and then Jalen McMillan who is sort of like the s Nolan: I just I just I just think that his his route running ability like it plays so well into being that flanker role. Yeah. He could he could be anything. KayOhKnee: he could be he could be anything. I mean, quite literally, yeah. He's yeah. I I do I do think that he's the type of receiver that you just throw out on the field and just let him do his thing. And I mean I mean it showed when to start the season he was quite possibly a top five wide receiver, top five maybe fantasy player even. and obviously the drop off had a lot to do with a lot of different things. I mean, Mike Evans went down, that didn't help his cause at all. The teams are focusing more in on him and all that sort of stuff. Nolan: Go have some fun out there, bud. yeah. KayOhKnee: But we're gonna get a healthy Baker Mayfield. We're gonna get a new play caller. We're gonna get a whole, you know, I mean, Chris Godwin even is gonna be another year healthier from where he was. I mean, this is a group that's gonna, you know, do some things this year. And I expect this Tampa Bay Buccaneers squad to take some big time steps forward. So yeah, I really like where he's at. I really like where he's gonna hopefully be at the end of the season. That's why I have him also as my boom candidate for this group. so let's move over to the flip side of things. Who is your best candidate for wide receiver two? Nolan: unfortunately this team has had now three players that we put on either the boom or the bus side of it. It's Malik Neighbors. Yeah. look, he's a great receiver. He his season got cut very short last season. and apparently his off season has not been going great either in the the rehab department. And look. KayOhKnee: no. Yeah. Yeah. Nolan: We we need this guy to come back to be a wide receiver one for this new revitalized Giants offense. I j I'm picking him as a bus candidate just based off the fact that I don't think he's going to return to form. KayOhKnee: Mm-hmm. Nolan: Maybe till halfway, if at all, this season. And maybe we're looking at much a much longer return to form session for him, maybe in the year after it. And it it's tough to say because I think he is a phenomenal receiver. He has a he has a great throwing quarterback. He has a now new offensive coordinators and new head coach that can really jump start this this franchise. I know. Yeah. Nerds. KayOhKnee: Mm-hmm. And so coordinators is a like no, but really, like it's a thing. That's what's annoying. Yeah. How could you have two guys calling plays? It doesn't make any sense. Nolan: Imagine he just goes, Alright, you're gonna do this drive. I'm gonna do the next drive. Don't worry about it. KayOhKnee: Like no, but literally I think Harbaugh kinda mentioned that he wants it to be like almost like that. Where's where I'm just like, That is like the dumbest like how are you gonna have Nolan: Guys get ready But yeah, I this this pick is purely based off of his recovery ability right or recovery period right now. KayOhKnee: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Nolan: You need him to be a part of OTAs. You need him to be in the training camp. And I don't know just based off the clips we've seen, the news and reports that we've come out so far. I don't know if he's going to be ready for training camp. He might be in a non-contact jersey or something along the s along the sidelines, just doing route running and kind of getting back into agility. and that's tough because you want to be able to work on that timing with Jackson Dart and Malik Neighbors, who didn't get enough time last season to build that, because I believe did he he got injured like KayOhKnee: Yeah. Nolan: Was it like Dart's first game? Maybe he didn't play with Dart? I don't yeah. So that that is the biggest issue I'm seeing right now. and I don't like it. And I think Malik Neighbors is being touted as probably a top twelve receiver being picked. I don't know if I can wholeheartedly take him in those top twelve positions. KayOhKnee: It was his first game. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. I mean looking at his production from even this last year, right? I mean, he clearly can produce when he's in the game. that is one thing that's gonna be for certain. but I mean you're not you're not saying anything wrong. There's a there's a lot of X factors for Malik neighbors to break correctly and the way things are happening right now it just it doesn't feel like to start the year or at least where he's currently being drafted, that that's a guy that I'm willing to take the risk on and wait for right off the rip. not to mention you throw in the fact that they added a plethora of new weapons to this, you know, receiving core. It's just a lot that's looking like it could change for Malik Neighbors. And as we kind of saw with the Brian Thomas situation, who knows where Malik Neighbors is true game lies, you know what I mean? He could undoubtedly be the top tier guy or he could completely fall off and, you know, we'll get the the what if of Malik neighbors. Yeah. Nolan: Yeah. And I for everyone listening out there, these especially in these two tier first tiers, this is not us saying that they're like dog water players. Like they're we're our bus candidates are simply like maybe they're gonna end up as like a like a low end wide receiver too. Like it it that that's the that's the worst end of it. It's not like we're saying like he's gonna be a free agent while you know, that's not what we're saying. Yes, exactly. KayOhKnee: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. This is in relation to where he is being currently drafted. Yeah. It's like he could undoubtedly go from wide receiver six all the way down to like wide receiver thirty six. So that's where you know, yeah, hopefully he does it. But anyway, that takes me to my best candidate for this wide receiver group and that is Devante Smith. you know, he's I know, I know. It's funny because Nolan: He was almost my boom candidate. KayOhKnee: no, it's funny. It it's funny you say that because I had him in that same exact mindset. But if you're watching the rankings and if you're looking at where he has gone ever since AJ Brown was traded, I mean he's skyrocketing up. Similarly to the Jackson Dart situation, this doesn't really come down to his talent perspective. This really just comes down to where he's currently being drafted. especially if Rashid Rice slides anymore, which seems like it will probably happen. Nolan: Yeah. Yeah, yeah. KayOhKnee: you when all the experts over at Fantasy Pros finally catch up to us because we're clearly ahead of the game. yeah. yeah, that's why we just learned what some of these, you know, little acronyms for things mean. Like A dot. I found that out while I was doing my research over here. that's what we do. We do research. Yeah. Yeah. I'm not gonna lie, I knew what it was. I was just trying to pretend. You know what I mean? Yeah, totally. Yeah. Anyway. anyway Nolan: Always. That's why you come to us, everybody. I knew that already. Uhhuh, uhhuh, uhhuh. I bet. Yeah, I bet. KayOhKnee: so yeah, I mean, we're sitting here with a guy who undoubtedly is a wide receiver one. He's undoubtedly a top tier talent. He's somebody that I have already spoken his praises for on this podcast. Might have even been in my risers category as far as like a guy who is gonna undoubtedly be a top tier talent for you. My worry comes from again the situation. the quarterback that he is currently playing with, not necessarily known to be a guy who likes to throw the ball a whole bunch. Nolan: When he does, it's the Devontae. KayOhKnee: You know I mean he's he's got elite playmaking, he's an elite route runner, you know, he's all these things. And he is gonna get the target chair for this receiver core. but it's gonna be capped by the play of his quarterback, and that's something that I know there's a lot of optimism around new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, who was a former Green Bay quarterback coach and His run his throwing, play calling and that sort of stuff is gonna be something that they're hoping helps Jalen Hurts and hopefully gets him in the right spots to make good throws. That's a lot of ifs for a guy who hasn't really proven that he can throw the ball really well to his wide receivers. on top of that, the fact that Devontae Smith is not gonna be the red zone target for this offense. it's undoubtedly gonna be a combination of Dallas Goddard, new rookie wide receiver, or excuse me, tight end, Eli Stowers. Nolan: Mm-hmm. KayOhKnee: And then Saquon Barkley. I mean, they're likely gonna be the guys who take all of the T D touches and take all of the red zone targets. and then on top of that, he has an unproven crop crop of wide receiver twos. I mean, Dontavian Wicks, I s really like Dontavian Wicks. I think that was a great pick up for them. specifically, they also picked up Hollywood Brown this offseason and of course, their first one draft pick in Makai Lemon. All great guys, all guys who could absolutely boon. Nolan: Mm-hmm. KayOhKnee: But we haven't seen it yet. So we're still waiting to see who's gonna be the guy that can really take pressure off of Devontae Smith. Because undoubtedly if they don't step up, everybody's gonna be focusing on Devonta Smith. And then you're really just gonna have a guy who's, you know, covered every single game. and then the final point I have really for Devontae Smith is that they may be in more run friendly game scripts throughout this season because this is a defense that is not only very young, but also very, very good. They're getting better. I mean, this was a Super Bowl team not too long ago. Nothing really has changed from then to now outside of some small or no not side of small. They obviously lost, you know, a good chunk of veteran players for this group. But they replaced a lot of those guys. It could point to some, you know, games where they're way ahead and they're just not using him as much as they'd like to use him. And when you have two guys who are elite rushers in Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley, I mean, there really is no need to possibly get Devontae Smith injured. So all that is just worrisome for me. I really do like him. I probably am still going to try to take shares of him. But if he rises any further from where he's from where he originally was and from where I originally had him as a riser, that's where my concern starts to set in. And if he hits into that that wide receiver one territory draft wise, specifically like number twelve, because Rashi Rice is like right above him. Nolan: Mm-hmm. KayOhKnee: That's where I'm like, I don't know if I really wanna, you know, I mean, take the swing there specifically, but yeah, that's why I have any qualms, additional points, things. Yeah. Nolan: No, I'm I'm kind of in agreement with it. you know, it's just kind of one of those things where it's kind of like your your self-fulfilling thought process as well. Like there there's a world where he is the boom candidate in both of our eyes, and then you just but you also look at the facts and how things have been progressing and it's just kind of people are gonna KayOhKnee: Yeah. yeah. yeah. Yeah. He's like, I'm gonna draft him and Travion and they're gonna sink my team. They're either gonna win me the league or I'm gonna lose because I drafted both of them. Nolan: Don't say that. Do it. but yeah, I'm I'm definitely in agreement where just because he's boosting up in the the consensus ADP that he has he has a lot of room to drop down based off of production for where he's being taken. Yeah. KayOhKnee: Yeah. Yes. Yes. And I will also say he's obviously at the top of our RB our wide receiver two groups. So again, boom bust within this group. So you know what I mean? All right. Anyway, let's move over to the tight end position and finish out this pod. so our consensus rankings for the tight end position starts off with number nine, Isaiah Likely, then Jake Ferguson, Travis Kelsey, Juwan Johnson, Brenton Strange, Chig Oconquo, Dallas Goddard, and Dalton Kincaid. So a I mean the tight end position might be where we changed the most in the rankings. You know what I mean? Like we moved a lot of players, a lot of places. Anybody who here who is surprising for you, positive or negative? Nolan: I mean Dalton Kincaid is surprising, but once again it's a situation of like we we have both been on the train like he does not deserve to be a top ranked tight end. Just given his situation, given his actual skill set. I just it's just I feel like it just gets inflated week to week when you see him like Dalton Kincaid, touchdown on two catches. You know, it I don't want to rely on someone who's just gonna be randomly in the red zone getting the ball from Josh Allen. So that's the only surprising one I really. KayOhKnee: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I mean he wasn't super, super surprising just because obviously I'm actually very surprised that Travis Kelsey is this high up. I mean again with the Chiefs players, Patrick Mahomes might not be back till December. If you've watched any of the tape on him, his mobility is terrible. You know what I mean? Like Nolan: Hey, but he's got Taylor Swift. KayOhKnee: Yeah, I was like, I just I really don't how long you been with her? That is a really funny clip. Yeah, that was really funny. that's why we couldn't be actors. Anyway 'cause that sound in and of itself would catch me every single time. Also, that's really good that she can nail it 'cause I can't do it. grow up, Nolan. Anyway. Nolan: Huh? How long you been with her? Huh? How long you been with her? That's a deep cut. If you know, you know everybody. Ha. KayOhKnee: yeah, I mean Travis Kelsey, I just don't really understand him being this high. So that for me was a surprise. I thought we dropped him pretty far for him to drop even further, but I guess we really didn't. Yeah. anyway, Nolan, who is your boom candidate for the tight end group? Nolan: I mean we'll get to it. You know what mean? My boom candidate is none other than Juwan Johnson. you look at his stats. He has a great completion percentage. He had 889 yards as a rookie tight end. he started last season with a different quarterback. Then he moved into having Tyler Shuck as his quarterback, and things really started to kind of sing a lot better for him. And we've talked about Tyler Shuck. We like him he as a very underrated quarterback for where he's being taken, what he has to give, and Juwan Johnson and him together getting a like starting their careers in the NFL together. That is a good recipe for having chemistry with someone. And I think that's a big thing that people kind of overlook. going into this offseason. They get more time together, working together, finding chemistry, finding how what everyone likes and the route running ability, timing. And I think that's gonna be a huge thing for him this season. Especially because we've been very high on, you know, the ability of this team, how Travis Etienne is gonna be a part of it, as well as Etienne. As well as Chris Olave. you got three great people in all three positions, and I think that he's gonna have a big season ahead of him based off of what we had last year. It's gonna it's gonna get up higher. KayOhKnee: H N. Yeah, I mean I wholeheartedly agree. This is a guy I had as my possible boom candidate. I went with somebody different because, like I said, Reggie like a book. but anyway, yeah, I mean I do really like Juwan Johnson. He boomed for me, in my other league because I had Tuckercraft and then I was able to swing and grab him. Nolan: Ha ha. KayOhKnee: Yeah, and I was like unfortunate for that guy. But anyway, that moves me into my boom candidate for this category. And if you've been watching the podcast as of late, this is a very surprising. we obviously moved him up very high in our consensus rankings as well, but it's Isaiah likely. undoubtedly somebody who is still being drafted very low. And I think that that bodes well for people like myself who are willing to grab him. maybe a couple rounds early just to, you know, have him on my team. and specifically where he is currently being drafted, I mean, he's undoubtedly a boom at that spot. but more importantly, I mean he's become the favorite target for Jackson Dart during training camp. He's not with the New York Giants who, you know, re reunited him with John Harbaugh. he has low end tight end one upside to me. and could possibly Could quite possibly end up in the top five, depending on how much targets he receives during this season. He's known to be an elite efficiency target when giving the touches. So that's somebody who does a lot with the little bit of receptions that he receives. I mean, you're looking at what he did last year, 27 out of 36 receptions to targets and just what he was able to do with those targets. Undoubtedly a guy who is, you know, high upside athlete. Elite athleticism, elite skill set, really good receiver. he has a rare combination of that size and speed, which is one of those things that I mean, nowadays we're starting to get more and more of those tight ends, but you know, kind of just bigger receivers. on top of that, he had one of the highest A dots for a tight end. specifically for him, I mean it was big time route running, which was insane to see for a tight end player. I mean They're gonna get a lot more of that over here, hopefully, with you know, their new offensive coordinators. he gets a better throwing quarterback, I think. Well, okay, that's that's sounded disrespectful. I'm gonna take that one back. But yeah, it just just from a I should say a more aggressive throwing quarterback. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There we Yeah, I'm not gonna say better because better is I mean, clearly MVP Lamar Jackson. Yeah, you can't say anything about that. But more aggressive, younger. Nolan: Aggressive younger quarterback. MVP, yeah. KayOhKnee: quarterback who will be trying to get him the ball as often as possible. Him being the favorite during training camp is speaking volumes for where he's gonna be at during the season. He has no other competition really at the tight end spot. I mean Theo Johnson had some here hit and miss games, but I mean, they brought in Harbaugh. There's that quick tie in for this new team. I just think that this is gonna be a hell of a season for Isaiah likely and I'm putting him as rocket to the moon for the tight end group. Dolan, thoughts, opinions. Nolan: I think he's in for a giant season. KayOhKnee: Alright. So who's your bus candidate? I don't even have enough energy to Nolan: Sorry everybody. Alright, alright. my buzz candidate is actually Travis Kelsey. you kinda hinted at it earlier. You stole my thunder, son of a you know you know, you know. But you know, Justin Fields as the court starting quarterback, most likely for the beginning of the season. Travis Kelsey is older, less agile. Yeah, yeah, it's okay it's okay. It's cool. It's cool. he was a little sluggish last season. and that was with Patrick Mahomes, who gave him eight hundred and fifty one yards, seventy six out of a hundred and eight targets to re or receptions to targets. So that's that's great numbers, especially for someone who's been in the league this long and still a part of a strong franchise. KayOhKnee: You know what's funny? I completely forgot that you had a mention bus cannon, so that's that's on me. That's on me. That's on me. Mm-hmm. Nolan: But heading into this next year, yes, he signed a three year deal with the team, but I don't think we're going to get anything better this season than it was last season, especially given the situation of what the offense is going to look like and who's playing what positions start the season. is there a world where Justin Fields, you know, clicks it with Travis Kelsey and maybe he's his old reliable as the season progresses? Sure. KayOhKnee: Yeah. Nolan: But I just there's not there hasn't been enough on tape, I think, to say that we can trust that to be the the outcome that we would want it to be. So Travis Kelsey, I'm sorry where you are in a lot of these consensus rankings, I gotta move you down personally because I do think he has the potential to be that bust. KayOhKnee: Yeah, I mean undoubtedly. I think he's way too high in the consensus rankings. we we we tried our best to move him down to a spot where you'd actually feel comfortable grabbing him and getting great value. I just think where he's being drafted currently is yeah, it's not great. I mean, nowadays there are so many really, really good, offensively talented tight ends. They're not just blockers anymore. You know what I mean? They're becoming real receiver threats. It's hard to like Nolan: Yeah. KayOhKnee: pick out that he's gonna be the guy, especially I mean, until Patrick Mahomes comes back and is fully healthy. That's gonna be one I mean, one of the main parts of Travis Kelsey Kelsey's value comes with Patrick Mahomes being able to improvise. And if he's not able to use his legs, he's not gonna be able to improvise. So yeah. Moving over to my bus candidate, ironically another guy who's kind of been a a staple for the tight end position for a very long time is Dallas Goddard. You know, you would think that with AJ Brown leaving the team that this would be a boom candidate. And, you know, he could undoubtedly be a guy who proves me wrong in that sense. But he finishes high with AJ Brown losing kind of the trust of his QB and then being preferred the preferred target over Devante in the red zone. So it really just became kind of a situational s thing with him where Nolan: Mm-hmm. KayOhKnee: He was the guy who was on the receiving end of like the targets because A. J. Brown was kind of on the outs with the squad. That's not gonna be the case this year. Obviously A. J. Brown was already traded. Now they have a whole new crop of p talent that they have for their wide receiver group. There's a lot of signs pointing to that his target share is definitely going to go down. They added Eli Stars to this tight end room. they signed him to a shorter term deal. So that points to that Eli Stowers is definitely gonna have a growing role in this offense. Not saying that he's gonna take over tight end one day one, but he's gonna be slowly phased out. And I think that that speaks to more that Stowers being the younger, more freakishly athletic. Nolan: Yeah. KayOhKnee: Better playmaking, better receiving. Yeah, exactly. I mean, Eli Starrers checked out checked all the boxes. I mean, he had the highest vertical jump at this combine. He's just a guy who can go out and get the ball from a receiving standpoint. He was one of the better receiver. He set a lot of records in college. I mean, a lot is pointing to that Dallas Goddard may end up just being sort of the blocking tight end within this crop. Nolan: Future. You know? KayOhKnee: And he might not even be that because they did also bring in some veteran blocking tight ends to this core. So add to all that, there's target competition with Mikai Lemon, Dontavian Wicks, Hollywood Brown, I mean the run heavy game scripts which I talked about earlier with the Devontae Smith situation. I know I have two Eagles in my bus cat category this this week. and that really isn't on purpose, but Where these guys are being drafted, how high they're being touted because of the AJ Brown trade, I'm just not sure that that's gonna play out. When you still have Jalen Hurts, who isn't quite known to be the best throwing quarterback out there, he he'll probably get you touchdowns, which I think is something that could boost his value. But when you're a touchdown dependent tight end, you're not a great fantasy tight end. And that's kind of where I have Dallas Goddard. He is gonna be wholly touchdown dependent. For a majority of the season, I don't imagine that he's gonna step into that wide receiver to roll for the squad. So yeah, that's why I have him as my best candidate for this crop of players. Nolan, you have any thoughts, opinions, anything you wanna add to that one? Yeah. Nolan: I'm in complete agreement. Yeah, I mean you look at the numbers, five hundred and ninety-one yards but eleven TDs, that is the definition of a touchdown dependent fantasy player. And that that's tough because you're you're you're sitting on the edge of your seat every Sunday hoping that you just get that random nine points from Dallas Goddard just because he got maybe like two catches and then touchdown. And it that's not something that you wanna be sweating yourself every week. So I'm in I'm in agreement. KayOhKnee: Yeah. Undoubtedly. Let me figure out how to get back to okay. Nolan: Your mouse died again. KayOhKnee: Nope. It was just like it just right at the very end of this. I now see exactly what I wanna see, which is the two of us, the full screen thing, the ability to change the thing. Sick. Notes for next time, I guess. But anyway, that'll do it for our tier two ranking consensus tiers, whatever we're calling them, I keep forgetting. Nolan: Sick, sick bro, sick KayOhKnee: but yeah, we'll be back with our boomer bus for next week's tears. Nolan, have anything you wanna say to the people at home? Nolan: Getting closer, everybody. KayOhKnee: It is getting closer. It's getting very close. I don't know. It's funny 'cause my boss just talked to me about like, your upcoming schedules, you know, whatever I saw that you had, you know, leaving for this date 'cause somebody's wedding's coming up very soon. I was like, Wow, that's like two weeks and then you know what I mean? It's kinda crazy. yeah, then you guys better have all your keepers in. Shout out to the league, shout out to the boys. very excited for Jared's wedding again. Nolan: Yeah, you better be ready to go. KayOhKnee: Like we say every single time. We're very excited for Jared's winning. Why are you smiling like that? What was that? yeah, that's right. Anyways, with that said, it has been a pleasure. It's been a joy. From all of us here at Poi and Soy. Nolan: Indeed. I don't know. I don't know. 'Cause I can't make the wedding. Good vibes and love, everybody. KayOhKnee: Bang bang
