- 1:31Speaker 2: Nine eight zero nine zero. We're gonna hop right in
- 1:35Speaker 2: with our first headline. Finding Mister Christmas season one was
- 1:40Speaker 2: nominated for not one, not two, but three Critics' Choice
- 1:44Speaker 2: Awards in the following categories Best Show Host, Jonathan Bennett,
- 1:49Speaker 2: Best Competition.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Series, and Male Star of the Year for Jonathan Bennett.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, Now, can I tell you a couple of
- 2:02Speaker 2: the other nominees, just to like put this into perspective. Yeah,
- 2:05Speaker 2: So for Best Show Hosts, the other nominees are Terry
- 2:08Speaker 2: Crews from America's Got Talent, Alan Cumming, The Traders, Colin Jost,
- 2:13Speaker 2: Pop Culture Jeopardy, Oh Wow, Kristin Kish, Top Chef, Oh,
- 2:18Speaker 2: Jeff Prope.
- 2:18Speaker 4: Survivor Wow, I mean big League, big League.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Best Competition Series nominees are Finding Mister Christmas, RuPaul's Drag Race,
- 2:29Speaker 2: the Summit.
- 2:30Speaker 3: I don't know what that is. The look Megan just
- 2:32Speaker 3: gave me was like, do you know what that is?
- 2:34Speaker 2: No idea, Survivor, Top Chef, and The Traders. Okay, And
- 2:39Speaker 2: Male Star of the Year.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Now this one.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I think this is going to be the hardest one
- 2:44Speaker 2: for me. Listen to these nominees, Okay, Jonathan Bennett, Alan Comming,
- 2:50Speaker 2: Dylan Efron, Stephen Nettarosik from Dancing with the Stars, Anthony
- 2:58Speaker 2: Porowski from Queer Eye, Oh wow, Stanley Tucci from Tucci
- 3:04Speaker 2: in Italy.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Well, yeah, that's difficult. That's the I mean, Dylan Efron
- 3:09Speaker 3: kind of made a big splash this year.
- 3:11Speaker 2: I sold the show for you, right and fun crossover.
- 3:14Speaker 2: What was your suggestion about Dylan Efron? He should be
- 3:16Speaker 2: on Finding Mister Christmas. However, our contact friend over there,
- 3:21Speaker 2: who works in production, she was like, Nope, he's too big.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Of a name. Yeah, Dylan Efron. Wow. Well, I'm so
- 3:28Speaker 3: excited because if you guys did not watch Finding Mister Christmas,
- 3:31Speaker 3: you should. It is worth the ten bucks twelve bucks
- 3:35Speaker 3: for a Hallmark plus for one month to go watch
- 3:38Speaker 3: seven ninety nine whatever it is. I don't know what
- 3:40Speaker 3: it is. Who knows if it's going to hit Linear
- 3:43Speaker 3: at some point? Fingers crossed it is it's been announced
- 3:47Speaker 3: that they're going to drop that on Linear, like we
- 3:49Speaker 3: season one, Yeah, season one of that and Mistletoe Murders
- 3:53Speaker 3: is coming to Linear. They just haven't announced when we've
- 3:57Speaker 3: tried to get that information out, obviously they have given
- 4:00Speaker 3: it to us. I have some more thoughts on that
- 4:03Speaker 3: a little later in this episode. Okay, well, my whole
- 4:07Speaker 3: point is if you didn't watch it, you should. And
- 4:09Speaker 3: I know there are so many regular Hallmark viewers who
- 4:13Speaker 3: are like, reality TV is not for me, I hear you. Yeah,
- 4:17Speaker 3: as someone who loves reality TV and Hallmark's not necessarily
- 4:22Speaker 3: for her. This was such a nice marriage between the twos,
- 4:26Speaker 3: so fun. It's very heartwarming and fun and funny, and
- 4:32Speaker 3: you'll love it.
- 4:33Speaker 2: If I may say, I found our recap episodes to
- 4:35Speaker 2: be some of the most fun episodes we've ever produced.
- 4:38Speaker 2: I loved making them, I loved editing them. Wendy's write
- 4:42Speaker 2: up after every episode was so fun to read. So
- 4:47Speaker 2: if I may toot our own horn, I do think
- 4:50Speaker 2: that was a nice companion suite of coverage there. So
- 4:56Speaker 2: give that all a look and a listen.
- 5:00Speaker 3: The Way Home is making a push for Emmy consideration. Yeah,
- 5:04Speaker 3: so apparently they did a screening. They have like an event,
- 5:09Speaker 3: like Hallmark Channel had an event. Uh huh, like a
- 5:12Speaker 3: four year consideration. And basically what that means is like
- 5:15Speaker 3: they want their show to be presented to the Emmy
- 5:18Speaker 3: Nominating Committee, Please consider our show for an Emmy nomination.
- 5:25Speaker 3: So they had this event on Tuesday, April twenty second
- 5:28Speaker 3: in Los Angeles. Stars included Kyler Lee, Andy McDowell, Sadie
- 5:33Speaker 3: La Flame, Snow, and Evan Williams. They all gathered for
- 5:37Speaker 3: a panel and a party trying to get some buzz
- 5:41Speaker 3: buzz on their show. Now, question for you, do you
- 5:45Speaker 3: think that show deserves I think for sure. I think
- 5:50Speaker 3: so too. I think the landscape is so hard with
- 5:53Speaker 3: streaming right now.
- 5:54Speaker 2: There's just such a glut of content. I don't know
- 5:56Speaker 2: how you narrow it down.
- 5:58Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't even know what, like where
- 6:01Speaker 3: that would fall, like the nomination. You know, it's a
- 6:05Speaker 3: cable television drama, so like what's it up against? Is
- 6:11Speaker 3: it up against everything streaming? Maybe Handmaid's Tale all that
- 6:17Speaker 3: kind of the pit Paradise?
- 6:20Speaker 2: Yea, You know, the competition is stiff, but I do
- 6:24Speaker 2: think it. You know, when I look at the shows
- 6:26Speaker 2: that I've watched in the last year, it's definitely among
- 6:29Speaker 2: my favorites. And that's not just as a Hallmark reviewer.
- 6:31Speaker 2: I think it's a great, well done show. So yeah,
- 6:33Speaker 2: I think it deserves consideration. I think it should be
- 6:35Speaker 2: in the mix of everything Hallmark's done. I absolutely think
- 6:38Speaker 2: it's if you had to pick one thing, one scripted thing,
- 6:42Speaker 2: I would pick that.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Yeah. Agree, absolutely.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Next up, we do have the news that Hallmark has
- 6:50Speaker 2: ended their partnership with the Peacock streaming network. I'm not
- 6:54Speaker 2: happy about it. Okay, let's talk about.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Why they left, and then I'm going to tell you
- 6:58Speaker 3: why I'm not happy about it.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Well, obviously, Hallmark did not officially state a reason why
- 7:03Speaker 2: they had ended their partnership, but it is obviously because
- 7:05Speaker 2: they want to drive people to their own streamer, particularly
- 7:07Speaker 2: given that at the beginning of this year twenty twenty five,
- 7:10Speaker 2: they made the decision to start doing next day airing
- 7:13Speaker 2: of all of their programming. That wasn't the original intention
- 7:18Speaker 2: behind Hallmark Plus. They wanted Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Plus
- 7:21Speaker 2: to exist independently of each other some crossover, but they
- 7:26Speaker 2: wanted two separate properties so you could have a reason
- 7:29Speaker 2: to have both. That didn't pan out for them. So
- 7:32Speaker 2: now I actually prefer the direction they're going. I like
- 7:36Speaker 2: the idea of next day streaming. I think it streamlines
- 7:41Speaker 2: the process of Hallmark viewing. I think it was very
- 7:44Speaker 2: confusing for the average Hallmark viewer to figure out where
- 7:47Speaker 2: things are airing and how to watch them. I like
- 7:50Speaker 2: the direction Hallmark Plus has gone, but now they.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Have to incentivize people to become subscribers of that channel.
- 7:58Speaker 3: That's a tough road to ho I think. Yeah, I
- 8:01Speaker 3: think we're all living in a world of death by
- 8:03Speaker 3: a thousand streamers for sure. Now here's why I'm not
- 8:07Speaker 3: happy with the end of this partnership. One. I love Peacock.
- 8:11Speaker 3: It's so easy to use, interfaces easy, it works, it
- 8:13Speaker 3: doesn't get clunky like Hallmark Plus does. That's You've agree
- 8:18Speaker 3: bitch about it for a whole year now.
- 8:21Speaker 2: However, I do find the I like the Peacock interface better.
- 8:26Speaker 2: I think the picture quality thank.
- 8:28Speaker 3: You is better. I think it's on Peacock. Oh yeah,
- 8:32Speaker 3: their homepage not always ideal like it for whatever reason,
- 8:38Speaker 3: and maybe it's me, Like, does not show continue watching
- 8:42Speaker 3: of shows that I am actively watching, like I.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Have to serve Summerhouse. Yeah, it's not there. My husband
- 8:48Speaker 2: watching for it every single time. My husband watches Days
- 8:51Speaker 2: of our Lives every single freaking day. It's not in
- 8:53Speaker 2: our continue watching Why But that's neither here nor there.
- 8:56Speaker 3: So so long, Peacock, So long, Peacock. Hopefully it works
- 9:01Speaker 3: out for them. I'm sure it will, especially during the
- 9:03Speaker 3: holiday season, but we shall see. I'd rather them do
- 9:08Speaker 3: this now than November. Yeah, people need to get used
- 9:12Speaker 3: to it totally.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Uh huh to And you know, doing it now I
- 9:16Speaker 2: think is smart in advance of Christmas in July, which
- 9:19Speaker 2: we will be discussing shortly.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Hey, Christmas Cohn Round one Stars announced. Christmas Con is
- 9:29Speaker 3: planned to take place November twelveth through fourteenth, twenty twenty
- 9:33Speaker 3: five in New Jersey. Some of the names who will
- 9:37Speaker 3: be in attendance are Brendan Elliott, Brendan Penny, Brandon Routh,
- 9:42Speaker 3: Kimberly Sested, Andrew Walker, Paul Campbell, Tyler Hines, Rachel Lee Cook,
- 9:47Speaker 3: Heather him Men's, Will Camp and Wes Brown. This is
- 9:51Speaker 3: only the first wave of announcements. More to be announced soon.
- 9:56Speaker 2: And this is where I would like to introduce our
- 9:58Speaker 2: new segment where we have feedback from a Girl's Gone
- 10:01Speaker 2: Hallmark special correspondent. This week special correspondent is Wayne who
- 10:05Speaker 2: has some hot takes on some of our news stories.
- 10:09Speaker 1: The first round of Christmas Con Stars has been announced,
- 10:13Speaker 1: and holy smokes, we're pulling out the heavy hitters right
- 10:16Speaker 1: off the bat. You know, we've got so many of
- 10:18Speaker 1: the big time stars. We got, you know, Brendan Elliott,
- 10:21Speaker 1: Brendan Penny, who I just got through my Chesapeake Shores
- 10:25Speaker 1: binge and I'm a fan now a'n even bigger fan.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Brandon Routh. I love seeing him in Hallmark movies, especially
- 10:33Speaker 1: as a geek at heart. He is one of the
- 10:36Speaker 1: Superman's that I really enjoyed. He also had a lot
- 10:39Speaker 1: of stuff going on in those DC TV shows, but
- 10:43Speaker 1: seeing him in Hallmark films is great, and having him
- 10:46Speaker 1: come out for Christmas Con is gonna be awesome. Kimberly Sustad,
- 10:50Speaker 1: Andrew Walker, Paul Campbell, Tyler Hines. I mean, you literally
- 10:53Speaker 1: have the Three Wiser Men's altogether. So that's Gon's. If
- 10:58Speaker 1: that's not a photo op, it better be Three Wiser
- 11:01Speaker 1: Men photo op. Rachel Lee Cook, Heather Hemmons and Will
- 11:05Speaker 1: Kemp and West Brown. You could stop right there, but
- 11:08Speaker 1: they're not going to. That's the cool thing. It's just
- 11:10Speaker 1: the first wave of announcements. I gotta be honest. I
- 11:13Speaker 1: wish I could go You've got something for everybody in
- 11:16Speaker 1: this lineup. I went to Nineties Con a couple of
- 11:18Speaker 1: years ago in Tampa, Florida, and I was begging for
- 11:21Speaker 1: them to come back. They went to the east coast
- 11:22Speaker 1: of Florida last time. But if they ever brought Christmas
- 11:26Speaker 1: Con to my neck of the woods, I would I
- 11:28Speaker 1: would be there, and they should. We should just do
- 11:31Speaker 1: Christmas Con come to Florida. Who wouldn't want to go
- 11:33Speaker 1: to Florida in December?
- 11:35Speaker 2: When he's raising her hand as someone who doesn't want
- 11:36Speaker 2: to go to Florida in December, actually is the best
- 11:38Speaker 2: time to go there.
- 11:39Speaker 3: My experience last year was not great. Guys. Sorry, that's orry.
- 11:43Speaker 3: We're in Florida last year in November. Yeah, thank you, Wayne.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Here's here's what's so interesting to me. Mm hmm. The
- 11:52Speaker 3: guy from the Nine Lives of Kittens. He's been in
- 11:56Speaker 3: like two maybe only two movies on Hallmark. It's either
- 12:00Speaker 3: The Nine Lives of Christmas or The Nine Kittens of
- 12:02Speaker 3: Christmas one, is it? You guys know what I'm talking about.
- 12:05Speaker 3: I mean, he's real nice to look at. It's kind
- 12:08Speaker 3: of random. It's random. I kind of feel bad for
- 12:13Speaker 3: everybody who is not Andrew Walker or Paul Campbell and
- 12:16Speaker 3: Tyler Hines because considering our experience on last year's Homework,
- 12:21Speaker 3: Christmas Cruise. The people are just they want to see Tyler.
- 12:25Speaker 3: They're rabid. Yeah, So here's my pitch if you're going
- 12:30Speaker 3: to one of these events. Look, Tyler's great. Tyler is
- 12:32Speaker 3: lovely to his fans. No shade to Tyler at all, none.
- 12:35Speaker 3: He was a calm, cool, collected cucumber when people were
- 12:39Speaker 3: literally throwing their bodies at him at each other. However,
- 12:43Speaker 3: every single one.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Of these people is like so worthy of your attention
- 12:47Speaker 2: for sure. And when we went to the Kansas City
- 12:51Speaker 2: Experience last year, we didn't have a Tyler, we didn't
- 12:54Speaker 2: have an Andrew, we didn't have a Paul, but we
- 12:56Speaker 2: did have a Chris paulaha. We did have a Marcus Rossner.
- 12:58Speaker 2: We did have Brennan Ellie. I'm talking dudes simply because
- 13:02Speaker 2: I think the ladies go a little crazy for the dudes.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yea yeah.
- 13:05Speaker 2: And we also had Ashley Williams and Rachel Boston and
- 13:09Speaker 2: Barbara Nivin.
- 13:10Speaker 3: All of these people were so lovely and getting to
- 13:13Speaker 3: see them in.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Person, for me just kind of deepened my enjoyment of
- 13:19Speaker 2: them on screen, oh for real, seeing who they are
- 13:22Speaker 2: as people, Like, there was something about Marcus Rossner that
- 13:25Speaker 2: I just found so relatable is the wrong word, but
- 13:30Speaker 2: I was like, oh, I kind of get.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Who you are now. I remember I'm sharing a story
- 13:34Speaker 3: about Christmas as a child, and it like humanized him. Yes,
- 13:39Speaker 3: that's the word. Thank you. Oh yeah, he's amazing.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's worth your time to spend some
- 13:44Speaker 2: time trying to get to know everybody there. But I
- 13:47Speaker 2: think we're going to see quite a few more announcements
- 13:50Speaker 2: coming out of that. That's for entertainment group for Christmas Con.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Do you wish we were going? No? Here is why
- 13:57Speaker 3: just because it's in December. It's it's it's way too
- 14:00Speaker 3: close to Christmas. Yeah, and it's really far away from us. Yeah.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Last year we traveled a lot, and we traveled a
- 14:08Speaker 3: lot during the holiday season and it practically broke me.
- 14:12Speaker 3: It was so fun, it was, but I was a
- 14:16Speaker 3: shell of a human. I am curious to see how
- 14:19Speaker 3: this is going. This is clear competition into the Kansas
- 14:23Speaker 3: City experience that home that weekend is running, So I'm
- 14:30Speaker 3: curious to see how the appearances filter out.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Yeah, because who's ever at Kansas City obviously cannot be
- 14:38Speaker 2: at Christmas Con that weekend, So that's a big challenge
- 14:43Speaker 2: for both groups. Yeah, and I think you know that
- 14:49Speaker 2: leaves the first weekend or the first two weekends of
- 14:52Speaker 2: Kansas City open for all of these stars.
- 14:54Speaker 3: I mean a lot of these are first weekend stars.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Let's be serious.
- 14:57Speaker 2: You know, if Tyler Tyler Hness was at two weeks
- 15:00Speaker 2: of Kansas City last year speaking talk about a shell
- 15:02Speaker 2: of a human he got to Christmas Con with no
- 15:04Speaker 2: voice after doing two cruises and two Kansas Cities and
- 15:07Speaker 2: Christmas Con and the Juggernaut press tour for the Chiefs movie.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Well, I imagine it's going to be the same thing
- 15:15Speaker 3: this year. I imagine most of these people are going
- 15:18Speaker 3: to be on the cruise. There is only one cruise
- 15:20Speaker 3: this year, which helps, but they're going to jump right back.
- 15:22Speaker 3: It's going to be promotion city hamster wheel for two
- 15:26Speaker 3: months for them. This is my plea for doing some
- 15:28Speaker 3: of these, Like move the cruise to the summer, please,
- 15:31Speaker 3: I'm begging.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Or move Christmas Con to the summer. Yeah, you would
- 15:35Speaker 2: still get people to come.
- 15:36Speaker 3: You would probably get more people to come.
- 15:38Speaker 4: I mean, and like, give these stars a freaking break, Morille, Gosh,
- 15:42Speaker 4: it's hard. We have some Hallmark adjacent news and that
- 15:46Speaker 4: is that. Kimberly Williams Paisley is in line to star
- 15:49Speaker 4: in the new spinoff nine to one one Nashville. Obviously
- 15:54Speaker 4: there is nine to one one. Then there was a
- 15:57Speaker 4: nine to one one lone Star, which ran for four
- 15:59Speaker 4: seasons and has ended its run.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Oh look at you with the info?
- 16:03Speaker 2: Yes, and nine one one Nashville is the new spinoff,
- 16:06Speaker 2: according to Deadline dot com. Other stars attached Arleann Rimes,
- 16:11Speaker 2: Chris O'Donnell, which wasn't he in another cop show with
- 16:16Speaker 2: L L COOLJ?
- 16:17Speaker 3: I can't remember the name of the show though, it
- 16:20Speaker 3: was something LA. They were They were based in.
- 16:23Speaker 2: LA and cis Los Angeles. Nicely done, okay, Wendy and
- 16:28Speaker 2: that ran for a bunch of seasons. To Chris o'dall,
- 16:31Speaker 2: didn't he play Robin in a Batman and Robin movie?
- 16:34Speaker 2: Deep cut m Also, Jessica Capshaw from Grey's Anatomy is also.
- 16:38Speaker 3: On the cast. That's a pretty great cast. Makes mean
- 16:43Speaker 3: to watch. No, you, this show's not for you and
- 16:46Speaker 3: it's too stressful.
- 16:47Speaker 2: I know this is like the wildest and craziest nine
- 16:50Speaker 2: to one one calls you could possibly conjure.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Y'all know, I get all my television on TikTok. I've
- 16:56Speaker 3: seen some terrifying clips of this show. Yes, quit the
- 17:00Speaker 3: original nine one one after like two seasons because I
- 17:03Speaker 3: was like, I can't too stressful, too high stressful. Time
- 17:06Speaker 3: fole for me Canno on the original, Yes, I Love him.
- 17:12Speaker 3: This will air on ABC on Thursdays in the fall.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Good for Kimberly Williams Paisley, she's back, y'all. She had
- 17:20Speaker 3: a little bit of a health scare, so I'm very
- 17:22Speaker 3: happy for her. Up an next is maybe the biggest
- 17:28Speaker 3: news to drop out of Hallmark this last week. The
- 17:31Speaker 3: cast of the forthcoming A Bill's Love Story Hallmark Touchdown
- 17:37Speaker 3: whatever it's called, Holiday Touchdown ed Bill's Love Story, Yes,
- 17:43Speaker 3: has been announced per Sleepy Kittie Pot. Filming on the
- 17:48Speaker 3: twenty twenty five tent pole holiday Touchdown. A Bill's Love
- 17:52Speaker 3: Story began this week with film Cruise and Bill's players
- 17:57Speaker 3: spotted at the Oishi Children's Hospital. Okay, let's pause right there. Yes,
- 18:04Speaker 3: let's talk about the actors attached to this project. Yes,
- 18:10Speaker 3: First up, Holland Rodin. I adore her, love her. Okay,
- 18:15Speaker 3: I'm gonna be real honest here. The casting is a
- 18:19Speaker 3: bit of a head scratcher for me. Interesting. Holland Rodin
- 18:24Speaker 3: I find so freaking adorable. I find her on par
- 18:27Speaker 3: with Hunter King in terms of casting. Yeah, and they're
- 18:31Speaker 3: real similar to me. They kind of have a similar look.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Uh huh. Yes. But do I think Holland Rodin is
- 18:44Speaker 3: a big enough name for this movie. I don't know. Well,
- 18:48Speaker 3: here's what I find surprising. No shade to Matthew de Dario.
- 18:53Speaker 3: People seem very excited. Now. I have not seen the
- 18:56Speaker 3: other things he has been in. I don't even know
- 18:58Speaker 3: who this person is.
- 19:00Speaker 2: In Shadow Hunters, though he was also in that series
- 19:03Speaker 2: Why Women Kill, I had like Jennifer Goodwin in it.
- 19:08Speaker 3: I vaguely remember.
- 19:10Speaker 2: But people know him from Shadow Hunters. I have never
- 19:13Speaker 2: seen him. I don't know who he is as an actor.
- 19:15Speaker 2: People seem very excited.
- 19:17Speaker 3: I'm with you. I'm surprised we did not cast one
- 19:20Speaker 3: of the big names. It's a head scratcher. I was
- 19:23Speaker 3: anticipating Andrew Walker, me too. You see somebody, no shade Matthew,
- 19:29Speaker 3: but somebody of that Hallmark caliber who is going to
- 19:34Speaker 3: bring the viewers and who are gonna hype the viewers up,
- 19:38Speaker 3: just like Tyler Hines did, Yeah, it's a little weird
- 19:43Speaker 3: to me. Yeah, I'm a little surprised. I'm still not
- 19:46Speaker 3: interested in watching this movie. Interesting, do you know what
- 19:50Speaker 3: the movie's about? Nope?
- 19:51Speaker 2: Okay, Well, an Entertainment Weekly article says, and I quote,
- 19:57Speaker 2: this installment follows pediatric doctor Morgan Quinn played by Holland
- 20:01Speaker 2: Roaden and Buffalo Bill's VP of Stadium Development, Gabe de Luga,
- 20:06Speaker 2: longtime friends who both hail from tight knit Buffalo families
- 20:10Speaker 2: that are Buffalo Bills fans. Obviously, we are getting some
- 20:15Speaker 2: more casting news go ahead. So it was originally announced
- 20:19Speaker 2: that Tony Danza would be part.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Of the cast, which kind of excited about, saying, give
- 20:25Speaker 3: me some who's the Boss? Same? I actually told my husband.
- 20:28Speaker 2: I was like, let's you know, everyone knows my husband
- 20:30Speaker 2: watches old shows. I'm like, let's fire up some who's
- 20:32Speaker 2: the boss?
- 20:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:34Speaker 2: But that announcement did not last long because it was
- 20:38Speaker 2: just announced that Joey Pantaliano, also known as Joey Pants,
- 20:44Speaker 2: is taking his place.
- 20:45Speaker 3: I wonder what happened.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Well, it said scheduling conflicts, but that was real quickick.
- 20:50Speaker 2: The announcement came out on Monday, and now We're three
- 20:52Speaker 2: days later and we already have a replacement. I almost
- 20:56Speaker 2: have just been waiting in the wings. Joey Pants will
- 20:58Speaker 2: play Morgan's uncle Tommy, and his storyline is he's the
- 21:02Speaker 2: recipient of a sizable annual gift from an anonymous donor,
- 21:06Speaker 2: but can't discern the identity of his benefactor quote from
- 21:10Speaker 2: Entertainment Weekly dot com. We also have Steve Sharipa, who
- 21:14Speaker 2: Joey Pantaliana was in The Sopranos with. And we have
- 21:18Speaker 2: the new casting announcement of Patti Mirn also joining the cast.
- 21:22Speaker 3: Love Patty Mirn, Yeah, love her. Here is some other
- 21:26Speaker 3: fun news as a side. Sean McDermott, Dion Docins, Damar Hamlin,
- 21:31Speaker 3: among others, will these from the Bill's organization, will be
- 21:36Speaker 3: in this cast. Yeah that's exciting. I'm really excited about
- 21:40Speaker 3: Damar Hamlin, really really excited for him. This is interesting. So,
- 21:48Speaker 3: as you know, Desin Reker is directing this movie. Great director.
- 21:53Speaker 3: The script is from Vanessa Morano and Danielle Morrow. Now
- 21:58Speaker 3: do you know the name Vanessa Moran? Now? I do,
- 22:03Speaker 3: because you told me.
- 22:05Speaker 2: I wonder if I would have gotten there immediately on
- 22:07Speaker 2: my own.
- 22:08Speaker 3: I would eventually gotten there as soon as I saw
- 22:10Speaker 3: her face. Well, I'm telling you, fans of Gilmore Girls
- 22:13Speaker 3: are going to write in the streets of Kansas City
- 22:16Speaker 3: because Vanessa Morano is one April Nardini from Gilmore Girls
- 22:22Speaker 3: who fans did not like.
- 22:25Speaker 2: No, I don't dislike Vanessa Morano. It's not that I
- 22:28Speaker 2: didn't like April Nardini. It's that I hated the way
- 22:30Speaker 2: they handled that storyline. You know how people say, like,
- 22:34Speaker 2: if you had to give a PowerPoint presentation right now,
- 22:37Speaker 2: what could you speak for thirty minutes on? And it
- 22:39Speaker 2: would absolutely be how they fully blew it on the
- 22:43Speaker 2: Luke has a surprise daughter storyline.
- 22:44Speaker 3: I agree agree, However.
- 22:47Speaker 4: Very curious to see her writing.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Chops, who's the other writer? Her name is Danielle Morrow.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Is she also a former child star? Maybe she's an
- 22:58Speaker 3: actress known for I Carly Simon, kat and Heroes. So yes,
- 23:02Speaker 3: she is funny. Wow.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Okay, we have some additional feedback from correspondent Wayne on
- 23:11Speaker 2: this breaking casting news. Wayne had initially sent his feedback
- 23:15Speaker 2: on the Tony Danza of it all, but sent an
- 23:18Speaker 2: emergency edit this morning.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Listen, there is nothing that makes me happier than seeing
- 23:25Speaker 1: Tony Danza on the list of this cast. We need this.
- 23:30Speaker 1: We need to do this every year, every single year,
- 23:33Speaker 1: with whatever sports and football love story is happening.
- 23:38Speaker 3: We need this.
- 23:40Speaker 1: We had ed Begley Junior last year and that was incredible,
- 23:44Speaker 1: and now we got Tony Danza. Tony Danza, can you
- 23:47Speaker 1: believe this? What we need to do is for the
- 23:49Speaker 1: next several years is we need to replace the actor
- 23:53Speaker 1: with another classic eighties actor. We need Bronson Pinchow, We
- 23:58Speaker 1: need Balki for Perfect Strangers showing up in the next movie.
- 24:03Speaker 1: We need John Laraquette from Night Court doing this. We
- 24:06Speaker 1: need Corbin Bernson from La Law and psych. We need Alf.
- 24:11Speaker 1: We need Alf in a Hallmark Christmas movie. Okay, maybe not,
- 24:14Speaker 1: but Tony Danza. Eyo, it can't get any better. Hold
- 24:19Speaker 1: on a second, I just got this in right now.
- 24:24Speaker 1: It turns out that Tony Danza has a last minute
- 24:27Speaker 1: scheduling conflict and is not going to be in a
- 24:31Speaker 1: Bill's Love Story. Instead, we're getting Joe Pantoliano from not
- 24:39Speaker 1: Just Sopranos fame, but I'm talking Joey Pants from the
- 24:43Speaker 1: Goonies coming in and taking over for this role. And
- 24:50Speaker 1: my friends this still applies. We're still getting an awesome
- 24:53Speaker 1: eighties actor to come in and be a part of
- 24:57Speaker 1: the Bill's love story. So I stand by it. I
- 25:02Speaker 1: am with it. We still need this, we still need
- 25:05Speaker 1: this trend of a eighties legend coming in and participating
- 25:11Speaker 1: in these movies. Danza is out, Pants is in, and
- 25:16Speaker 1: I don't know about you. I'm still excited. In fact,
- 25:18Speaker 1: I'm probably more excited about this more to come.
- 25:21Speaker 3: I like the idea that we're beating up these casts
- 25:23Speaker 3: with all of these like well known outside of the
- 25:26Speaker 3: Hallmark Universe actors. I think it speaks to what we
- 25:30Speaker 3: think Hallmark is trying to do and like drawing in
- 25:33Speaker 3: all of bringing in the people from all of the places,
- 25:36Speaker 3: the haters, the Hallmark haters. So Wendy, let's take a
- 25:39Speaker 3: quick break and we're going to come back with more
- 25:41Speaker 3: Hallmark headlines.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Well, I kind of just want to say this one
- 25:53Speaker 2: and move on. Okay, I'll charges have been dropped against
- 25:56Speaker 2: Eric maybeus. It remains to be seen what Hallmark.
- 25:59Speaker 3: Will do with that news. It's a wait and see.
- 26:03Speaker 2: What's really interesting is in the wake of that news,
- 26:06Speaker 2: Hallmark did finally add a movie poster to its website
- 26:10Speaker 2: about sign sealed delivered to the moon and back.
- 26:13Speaker 3: That is some shadey business. Is that related? Perhaps? So
- 26:21Speaker 3: that's all.
- 26:24Speaker 2: We have some odd news in my opinion, and that
- 26:27Speaker 2: is there is a Hallmark crossover situation. First we had
- 26:32Speaker 2: the NFL, Now we have the MLB on July. First,
- 26:35Speaker 2: we have a collaboration between Hallmark Channel and the Boston
- 26:39Speaker 2: Red Sox Christmas in July to launch their annual Christmas
- 26:44Speaker 2: in July celebration on the channel. So they're gonna have
- 26:48Speaker 2: like a photo op, a Winter Wonderland photo op.
- 26:52Speaker 3: At the stadium with one of your favorite Hallmark stars. Oh. Interesting,
- 26:56Speaker 3: a Hallmark star will be throwing the first pitch and
- 26:59Speaker 3: singing the national anthem. Guesses on who that might be
- 27:02Speaker 3: Jonathan Bennett. Oh, yes, Jonathan Bennett should be singing the
- 27:07Speaker 3: national anthem and throwing out the ball and Jonathan Bennett
- 27:10Speaker 3: sing he was in spam a lot. Oh, you're right.
- 27:14Speaker 3: We also Gina Clare Mason. Oh yeah, fantastic. But yes,
- 27:20Speaker 3: I love the Jonathan Bennett they announce they have not
- 27:23Speaker 3: Oh here's what's funny. When I heard about this, like
- 27:27Speaker 3: Red Sox activation, I assumed that there was going to
- 27:29Speaker 3: be a movie associated with this, and that's why I
- 27:32Speaker 3: was in our Facebook group saying like, I don't want
- 27:34Speaker 3: a Hallmark Baseball movie. Yes, I know. Why didn't anybody
- 27:38Speaker 3: clear this up for me? They just let you run,
- 27:41Speaker 3: they did, just let me just beef out about it.
- 27:43Speaker 3: I don't think anybody wants to be in there. Well actually, yo,
- 27:47Speaker 3: there's plenty of people in there. Well actually, and I'm
- 27:51Speaker 3: one of them, is sitting across from you. Maybe I
- 27:54Speaker 3: thought I had just missed an announcement that there was
- 27:56Speaker 3: a movie. Really, I thought there was a movie related
- 27:58Speaker 3: and I was like, I don't want to do this, guys,
- 28:00Speaker 3: I don't want I don't want to do this. I
- 28:04Speaker 3: don't want to do it. Yeah, I do think it's
- 28:07Speaker 3: bizarre pairing. Well here's it's the only sport that's playing
- 28:12Speaker 3: in July. I get it. You hold it right there.
- 28:15Speaker 3: The WNBA is playing in July. Sorry, I didn't know
- 28:18Speaker 3: the WNBA schedule. There will be VIP packages available which
- 28:22Speaker 3: include a holiday themed red sox and Hallmark Channel hat
- 28:25Speaker 3: and festive replica jersey. I don't want any of this business.
- 28:30Speaker 3: I have some thoughts, but first let's hear from correspondent Wayne.
- 28:34Speaker 1: The Boston Red Sox Christmas in July. Okay, this is
- 28:38Speaker 1: pretty awesome in one way. It's just nice to know
- 28:42Speaker 1: that Hallmark was listening to my suggestions for other sports movies.
- 28:46Speaker 1: It's smart for doing baseball for Christmas in July, especially
- 28:51Speaker 1: with the timing. Okay, so it's great to be able
- 28:53Speaker 1: to do that in July. However, I'm not so sure
- 28:55Speaker 1: about chusing the Red Sox. I'm a lifelong Yankees fan myself,
- 28:58Speaker 1: but that's not my Boston bias coming into play. I'm
- 29:01Speaker 1: just thinking maybe some other team that hasn't been as
- 29:04Speaker 1: disliked could have been picked. You know, the Boston Red
- 29:07Speaker 1: Sox are kind of polarizing in a lot of cases.
- 29:09Speaker 1: I'm not saying it should have been the Yankees. I'm
- 29:11Speaker 1: saying maybe a nicer Hallmark worthy team like the Tampa
- 29:15Speaker 1: Bay Rays, the Chicago Cubs, the Minnesota Twins, or even
- 29:19Speaker 1: the Colorado Rockies since they are the worst right now.
- 29:24Speaker 1: A lot of different options there, but take what you
- 29:27Speaker 1: can get. I'm really happy we're getting the baseball. Maybe
- 29:29Speaker 1: next they'll choose my other holiday option, which is curling.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Curling for Christmas. I think a curling movie would be fantastic.
- 29:40Speaker 1: But thanks for listening to Wayne's Gone Megan and Wendy,
- 29:46Speaker 1: or as you probably call it, just some hot takes
- 29:49Speaker 1: going on with some Hallmark news. Thank you so much
- 29:52Speaker 1: again for having me on. Y'all are fantastic.
- 29:54Speaker 2: First of all, thank you to Wayne for all of
- 29:55Speaker 2: your feedback this episode.
- 29:59Speaker 3: Here's what I think happening. I think I think Christmas
- 30:03Speaker 3: in July has the potential to be big in some
- 30:06Speaker 3: ways for Hallmark. We got a lot of shows they
- 30:08Speaker 3: got to get out there.
- 30:09Speaker 2: As we've seen, Hallmark has re aired the Danube series,
- 30:15Speaker 2: They've re aired the.
- 30:18Speaker 3: Jane Mystery, the Chicken Sister, Chicken Sisters.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Yeah, we got a lot of shows they got to
- 30:23Speaker 2: get out. They are putting out a second season of
- 30:24Speaker 2: Finding Mister Christmas. They are putting out a second season
- 30:26Speaker 2: of missilete Murders. Both of those they have said will
- 30:30Speaker 2: air on Linear. They got to get those out in advance.
- 30:32Speaker 2: My guess is, well, my suggestion is that there lies
- 30:36Speaker 2: the time to do it.
- 30:38Speaker 3: I mean, aren't they aren't they aren't they filming those
- 30:41Speaker 3: series right now? Yeah? But put out season one? Oh
- 30:44Speaker 3: yeah yeah, yeah, gets season one out there. My guess
- 30:48Speaker 3: is you know, usually we get a couple one or
- 30:52Speaker 3: two new Christmas movies and Christmas in July. I think
- 30:55Speaker 3: we're not getting that.
- 30:56Speaker 2: I think we're gonna get Finding Mister Christmas. I think
- 30:58Speaker 2: we might get missilete Murders. I think we might get
- 31:00Speaker 2: Holidayed why not drop it? And I also think we
- 31:03Speaker 2: might get the Cherry Lane Hallmark Plus exclusives.
- 31:06Speaker 3: They've got so much content to play with that. Based
- 31:10Speaker 3: on their.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Plan of re airing all of their Hallmark Plus original content,
- 31:15Speaker 2: I think we're going to see a reair extravaganza.
- 31:20Speaker 3: On Hallmark Lenny in July. I think so. I mean,
- 31:24Speaker 3: yay for me.
- 31:28Speaker 2: A month of encore presentations from Megan and Wendy. Go
- 31:31Speaker 2: listen to Last of the Party if you want new
- 31:33Speaker 2: content that is hilarious.
- 31:41Speaker 3: We got an email from listener John regarding I know
- 31:45Speaker 3: this is not mailbag, but this is headline news. Ye
- 31:47Speaker 3: I felt like it belonged to here for sure. This
- 31:49Speaker 3: is regarding the Hallmark Plus content which Hallmark Plus has
- 31:53Speaker 3: recently added three new British mystery series to their lineup.
- 31:58Speaker 3: They dropped all of the episodes Shakespeare and Hathaway, Rosemary
- 32:03Speaker 3: and Time Private Eyes with when Jason Priestley, which I
- 32:08Speaker 3: considered starting last night, which when I had eight hundred
- 32:11Speaker 3: other things to watch, I just loved me so Jason Priestley.
- 32:15Speaker 3: John asked, Hey, these movies just show up unannounced and
- 32:18Speaker 3: I only find out by the online sleuthing. Do we
- 32:21Speaker 3: understand their motivation slash reasons for this? John devoted fan
- 32:27Speaker 3: from Minneapolis, Minnesota. You know John. I email John back
- 32:32Speaker 3: and let him know. You know, we did break this
- 32:34Speaker 3: news on Girls Gone Hallmark. Wendy wrote a post about it.
- 32:36Speaker 2: There are other series, The Corner and The Moonstone, additional
- 32:40Speaker 2: British series that are streaming. They did make an announcement,
- 32:43Speaker 2: they just kind of dropped it. These Private Eyes was
- 32:47Speaker 2: added after the fact and is not British.
- 32:51Speaker 3: It's Canadian correct.
- 32:53Speaker 2: So we have Shakespeare, Hathaway, Rosemary in Time, The Corner
- 32:56Speaker 2: and The Moonstone are our British mysteries, and then the
- 32:58Speaker 2: Private Eyes Mysteries was all also added. What are your
- 33:04Speaker 2: thoughts on them adding these non Hallmark properties to the streamer.
- 33:10Speaker 3: I kind of love it. Yeah, it's similar to like
- 33:12Speaker 3: the Spenser Sisters that they added, which was a huge
- 33:15Speaker 3: fan favorite. I like that there are series available over there.
- 33:20Speaker 3: That are not available on Hallmark Channel. I like it. Yeah,
- 33:25Speaker 3: and they're beefing up the streamer. Yeah. I think they
- 33:28Speaker 3: need to make it as appealing as possible to people. Yeah, yeah,
- 33:32Speaker 3: I'm here for it. I do think they should be
- 33:35Speaker 3: running some sort of promos on Hallmark Channel for it. Interesting.
- 33:41Speaker 2: They do seem to be kind of like front and
- 33:42Speaker 2: center when you open up the app that we're definitely
- 33:45Speaker 2: promoting them when you open the app, you know, I
- 33:47Speaker 2: think they're trying to get these low cost to acquire series.
- 33:51Speaker 2: You know, British mysteries don't stream in it like unless
- 33:55Speaker 2: you have brit Box. It's another separate subscriptions, so getting
- 33:58Speaker 2: places to people a place where like, well, I like
- 34:01Speaker 2: Hallmark and maybe the Hallmark viewers also the person who
- 34:06Speaker 2: likes a cozy British mystery, so let's let's.
- 34:08Speaker 3: Give it to them. Yeah. No, I'm I'm into it.
- 34:11Speaker 3: I'm into I just wish I had the time to
- 34:12Speaker 3: watch all of these. Agree.
- 34:14Speaker 2: And I think if you dig in, if you go
- 34:15Speaker 2: to the series tab on the Hallmark Plus, you'll see
- 34:17Speaker 2: that these are not the first series they've acquired. If
- 34:20Speaker 2: you're listening to our first Impression series you'll also know
- 34:22Speaker 2: they acquired the series Carter, which we did a first
- 34:25Speaker 2: impression Sue Thomas FBI, another Canadian series.
- 34:28Speaker 3: There are some.
- 34:29Speaker 2: Additional acquisitions on the streamer, so I'm curious to see
- 34:33Speaker 2: what else we get from them, what else they acquire.
- 34:37Speaker 3: I wish you would get an email from them saying, hey,
- 34:39Speaker 3: will you promote these shows on your podcasting to chang.
- 34:45Speaker 2: All right, we are going to wrap this episode up
- 34:46Speaker 2: with some quick news bites.
- 34:49Speaker 3: All out.
- 34:49Speaker 2: The Holly three has officially been greenlt per Wes Brown.
- 34:52Speaker 3: We knew what was coming. We knew, we saw it
- 34:54Speaker 3: in production notes. We knew it was months months ago.
- 34:58Speaker 3: Nobody yeah October no confirmed it, but we got it.
- 35:01Speaker 3: The cast of Holiday Touchdown won a Gracie Awards for
- 35:03Speaker 3: the Best Ensemble Cast. Benjamin Ayers is recording a Christmas
- 35:08Speaker 3: movie Touched by a Christmas Angel with Meghan or Oh. Interesting.
- 35:13Speaker 3: I saw there booth. They're separate instagrams, but I didn't
- 35:17Speaker 3: realize it was a movie that they are in together.
- 35:19Speaker 2: I should note that it is a Hallmark enthusiast on
- 35:22Speaker 2: Instagram who suspects that it is Touched by a Christmas Angel.
- 35:25Speaker 2: That has not been confirmed. But they are definitely on set.
- 35:28Speaker 2: Benjamin Airs is instagramming, as is Meghan or And finally,
- 35:33Speaker 2: summer movie news, Andrew Walker and Rachel Boston New Girls Gone,
- 35:37Speaker 2: Hallmark Favorite are working on a movie together called Birding
- 35:41Speaker 2: with Benefits, directed by Michael Robinson.
- 35:45Speaker 3: Did you say I just went birding with benefits? Did
- 35:48Speaker 3: you get friends with benefits vibes? I mean with benefits?
- 35:53Speaker 3: Suggest something? I know. I love this pairing. I hope
- 35:57Speaker 3: it's I hope it's a little bit of a duchey
- 35:59Speaker 3: Andrew Walker and I love Rachel Boston, So yeah, because
- 36:01Speaker 3: are they both too wholesome together? Maybe I'm excited about
- 36:05Speaker 3: I'm excited about this parent And there was some talk
- 36:09Speaker 3: in our Facebook group. If you didn't see it, one
- 36:11Speaker 3: of the members had to ask, like, hey, from what
- 36:13Speaker 3: season are your favorite movies? Right? And I was like, yo,
- 36:16Speaker 3: Summer in Fall eight last year for me, so I'm
- 36:22Speaker 3: seventeen years old.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Apparently I asked my daughter last night why she was
- 36:27Speaker 2: crashing out, and she just like froze.
- 36:29Speaker 3: She's like stuff like her and was like she needed
- 36:32Speaker 3: like reboot. She goes, what did you just say? And
- 36:34Speaker 3: I said, slang is not reserved for the youth. It
- 36:38Speaker 3: is not so if you don't know what I mean,
- 36:41Speaker 3: I mean that those movies were really good last year.
- 36:44Speaker 3: They had great summer contents last year, and I loved
- 36:47Speaker 3: the surprise kind of Halloween element movies that they had
- 36:51Speaker 3: last year.
- 36:52Speaker 2: Hey, thank you for listening to this episode of Hallmark Headlines.
- 36:55Speaker 2: If you love this podcast, we love your five star
- 36:58Speaker 2: ratings and reviews.
- 37:00Speaker 3: That's my goal. Wendy two hundred. Let's get there. Can
- 37:03Speaker 3: we do it? You can help us do it.
- 37:05Speaker 2: Leave those readings interviews in Apple Podcast and move back
- 37:08Speaker 2: next time with more Hallmark reviews.
- 37:10Speaker 3: Goodbye, bye.
- 37:23Speaker 2: All right friends, before we go, just a quick heads up,
- 37:26Speaker 2: you're about to hear some ads. These little gems help
- 37:28Speaker 2: us keep the show running and the Hallmark love flowing.
- 37:31Speaker 2: So do with that info what you will, Grab a snack,
- 37:35Speaker 2: hit the skip button, or maybe just maybe listen in
- 37:38Speaker 2: and discover your new favorite product.
- 37:41Speaker 3: Bye
