Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Good morning too. Yeah, it's the FT Live postgame Show
- 0:04Speaker 1: presented by Fox one eighteen innings. That's all it takes
- 0:08Speaker 1: and you only get one win out of this. Not
- 0:10Speaker 1: to Freddie Freeman again, Ron Kratz AJ, We're awake with
- 0:15Speaker 1: you if you're watching this the next day or today,
- 0:17Speaker 1: great AJ thoughts. First, we'll go backwards on from an
- 0:21Speaker 1: ending this. I think that yes, good morning, I think.
- 0:24Speaker 2: That easy Jazz.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Dodgers are pretty pleased with the braves decision to let
- 0:31Speaker 1: Freddy end up in Los Angeles. He's been quite clutch
- 0:34Speaker 1: for them.
- 0:35Speaker 3: I've never been happier than for my ex teammate Fred Freeman.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Then tonight or this morning or whatever the hell time
- 0:42Speaker 3: it is. Yeah, thank you, Freddy. Huge, another huge walk
- 0:47Speaker 3: off hit for you, the first guy ever to have
- 0:48Speaker 3: to walkoff homers in the World Series history. So way
- 0:52Speaker 3: to go, fred Yeah, it's a good thing the Braves
- 0:54Speaker 3: didn't keep you. But yeah, I mean, listen, this dude's
- 0:57Speaker 3: always been clutched. Look at his numbers with the Runners
- 0:59Speaker 3: in scoring his entire career. He's always been able to
- 1:02Speaker 3: hit lefties right a's, it doesn't matter, and to go
- 1:04Speaker 3: dead center and sixty degrees and Dodger Stadium is pretty awesome.
- 1:08Speaker 2: So a way to go. Fred.
- 1:12Speaker 4: He's not even like he has career three hundred and
- 1:16Speaker 4: sixty seven homers. He has two walkoffs in the World Series, Like,
- 1:20Speaker 4: you just don't do that, Like you don't. I don't know.
- 1:23Speaker 2: I don't get it. I don't.
- 1:24Speaker 4: I don't get how a team like the Braves, who's
- 1:26Speaker 4: in the win now situation, would allow him to walk
- 1:31Speaker 4: But the Dodger said, thank you very much, or as
- 1:35Speaker 4: everybody says, the big bad Dodgers, they just get everybody.
- 1:40Speaker 1: What a freaking game and it could have gotten even
- 1:42Speaker 1: crazier too. Yamamoto was about to come into this game
- 1:45Speaker 1: if it kept going on. So what were your thoughts?
- 1:49Speaker 1: Is this was rolling in extras because the game through
- 1:53Speaker 1: the normal time period was insane. AJ there were tons
- 1:57Speaker 1: of awesome plays, great defense, right timely hits. It started
- 2:02Speaker 1: with Shrzer and Glass. Now it felt like a year ago.
- 2:05Speaker 1: But what was going on in extras? I mean, you've
- 2:08Speaker 1: been through long games like this. All of a sudden,
- 2:11Speaker 1: the bullpens looked like they were the best in baseball
- 2:13Speaker 1: and they're not.
- 2:15Speaker 3: I'll tell you what happens. Everyone trying to hit homers
- 2:17Speaker 3: like Crouches showed. I mean, that's that's that's really it.
- 2:22Speaker 2: H It was nobody.
- 2:25Speaker 3: I guess the Dodgers did lay down the bunt with
- 2:26Speaker 3: Mickey Rojas, and they had some chances. They had a
- 2:29Speaker 3: leadoff double, didn't score. The defense was awesome. I mean,
- 2:33Speaker 3: we forget to play a throw from Vlad to throw
- 2:35Speaker 3: from Edmund, the two throws from Edmund actually the homers
- 2:39Speaker 3: from show Hey, I mean home, I mean this this
- 2:42Speaker 3: game had it all uh in extra innings, guys. The
- 2:47Speaker 3: biggest thing for me is and they they mentioned this
- 2:49Speaker 3: in the broadcast, is everybody goes up there wants to
- 2:51Speaker 3: be the homer and the hero and try to hit
- 2:54Speaker 3: a homer instead of just take your single to right
- 2:57Speaker 3: and get on base and move the line, take your walks,
- 2:59Speaker 3: and I think guys get big. I think there was
- 3:01Speaker 3: in a bat Max months he had three to one
- 3:03Speaker 3: with first and second or second and third. He went
- 3:06Speaker 3: out of the strike zone, which you never see Max
- 3:08Speaker 3: Montsy do. That's just that's what happens when the pressure
- 3:10Speaker 3: gets turned up. And listen, all the credit in the world,
- 3:13Speaker 3: it will Cline, Eric Lower, all these pitchers that came
- 3:16Speaker 3: in I mean they went how many they did't score
- 3:19Speaker 3: since the seventh inning to the eighteenth inning, so eleven
- 3:22Speaker 3: shutout almost eleven shutout innings and an incredible job by
- 3:25Speaker 3: both bullpens their gas. The only thing I can say
- 3:28Speaker 3: about the Dodgers is they won this game, so it
- 3:30Speaker 3: gives you a little jolt. And they also didn't use
- 3:33Speaker 3: their guys quite as much. I mean a lot of
- 3:35Speaker 3: a third a third a third for Kershaw Bonda, I
- 3:37Speaker 3: think trying it only went a third, so it's a
- 3:40Speaker 3: little bit different, but it only counts as one win,
- 3:42Speaker 3: but they definitely have the momentum going tomorrow. The other
- 3:45Speaker 3: part too, was it's nothing against they're all big leg players,
- 3:49Speaker 3: but four of the nine guys did not start that
- 3:54Speaker 3: were in there during those innings. You have Tyler Heyneman
- 3:58Speaker 3: was in there after the pinch running. Ikf came in
- 4:01Speaker 3: after Boba Schett came out of the game. Ty France
- 4:06Speaker 3: was then pinch hit for by Davis Schneider, who was
- 4:11Speaker 3: in there, who was pinch hitting, who came in for
- 4:14Speaker 3: George Springer. So it was definitely a beleaguered lineup, but
- 4:21Speaker 3: they just kept turning it over, kept turning it over.
- 4:24Speaker 3: And good, good for the I know the Blue Jays
- 4:26Speaker 3: didn't win.
- 4:26Speaker 1: This game, but yes they had tons of opportunities.
- 4:31Speaker 4: Yes they had tons, and I'm not saying out of it,
- 4:36Speaker 4: like this game doesn't wear you down to the point
- 4:39Speaker 4: where you're like, oh, I'm so exhausted. The Dodgers need
- 4:43Speaker 4: to sweep the Blue Jays. They can't let the Blue
- 4:46Speaker 4: Jays get back to Toronto, and I think the Blue
- 4:49Speaker 4: Jays need to go. Okay, you know what, we lost
- 4:51Speaker 4: that one. I lost an exter en game and eighteen
- 4:55Speaker 4: in LA. That was game four after we had won
- 4:58Speaker 4: Game three that we went on and lost the day
- 5:01Speaker 4: game game five. Like you do understand that there's more
- 5:05Speaker 4: games than just the next one, and there's more games
- 5:10Speaker 4: than just the last one that you played. This was tough,
- 5:13Speaker 4: but you go back out there tomorrow and you're like, Okay,
- 5:16Speaker 4: we got it. We gotta get show.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Hey, yeah, it's crazy. I mean I want to go
- 5:20Speaker 1: there next. Aj Shoheo Tani pitching in game four, but
- 5:23Speaker 1: also his performance in game three is super video game Like.
- 5:29Speaker 1: He does a lot of things that people think are
- 5:32Speaker 1: made up if you put it in a video game
- 5:34Speaker 1: or a movie, right, if you had a movie and
- 5:35Speaker 1: you're like, and here it is an eighteen inning game
- 5:38Speaker 1: and the guy goes four hits, all extra base hits.
- 5:42Speaker 1: That's a record. It hadn't been done since nineteen oh
- 5:45Speaker 1: six in the World Series by frank Isbel in White
- 5:48Speaker 1: Sox History. Three Ribby's five walks intentional walks galore. I mean,
- 5:53Speaker 1: it was just a ridiculous night. And obviously clutch hits
- 5:55Speaker 1: earlier on in this game that kept the Dodgers in
- 5:58Speaker 1: this originally giving them the lead, and then the tying
- 6:00Speaker 1: shot to go five five, and then John Schneider was
- 6:03Speaker 1: just like, yeah, no, thanks, we're done. You're a one
- 6:06Speaker 1: man show tonight and we're not dealing with this. And
- 6:07Speaker 1: it actually was the right call.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Yeah, it was.
- 6:12Speaker 3: If he basically had five intentional walks his first four bats,
- 6:16Speaker 3: he had two homers and two doubles, and then his
- 6:19Speaker 3: next five at bats. I know they didn't intentionally walk
- 6:21Speaker 3: him his last time. I don't know why they just
- 6:22Speaker 3: didn't do it. They wasted four pitches from lower I
- 6:25Speaker 3: think it was lower a little.
- 6:27Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Hell, I lost count, but I mean, you should have
- 6:31Speaker 3: just put him on and taken their chances in poor Mookie.
- 6:33Speaker 3: I mean, Mooki's up there, just man. They were intentionally
- 6:35Speaker 3: walking them, their intentionally walking him. At some point you
- 6:37Speaker 3: think Mooki come through.
- 6:38Speaker 2: He never did.
- 6:39Speaker 3: He was facing lefties. I mean, he had all kinds
- 6:41Speaker 3: of opportunities and it didn't work out. And then Freddy
- 6:43Speaker 3: came through in the eighteenth. But yeah, show Hey, this
- 6:47Speaker 3: is an unbelievable game. And he's got to pitch tomorrow,
- 6:50Speaker 3: which is the craziest part. He went was on base
- 6:52Speaker 3: nine times in an eighteen in in game, and now
- 6:55Speaker 3: he's got to pitch tomorrow and he's gonna start and
- 6:57Speaker 3: they went need some link from him, so we'll see
- 7:00Speaker 3: what happens.
- 7:00Speaker 2: But what a game I have.
- 7:05Speaker 4: I just had to look it up. In twenty eighteen,
- 7:07Speaker 4: I had two hundred and nineteen plate appearances. I walked
- 7:13Speaker 4: six times, show Hey, womped five times in a World
- 7:18Speaker 4: Series game tonight.
- 7:21Speaker 1: They absurd, absurd, Yeah, setting all kinds of records. Obviously
- 7:25Speaker 1: good at ball, and I think a j he found it.
- 7:29Speaker 1: And when I say found it, you know he had
- 7:32Speaker 1: the big game of course in game four of the NLCS.
- 7:34Speaker 1: But otherwise we didn't see the show Hey for most
- 7:37Speaker 1: of the postseason that we're used to seeing, right, a
- 7:40Speaker 1: top three hitter on the planet. He started going opposite
- 7:44Speaker 1: field in this game. They were they were good on
- 7:46Speaker 1: the broadcast and letting us know it had been like
- 7:48Speaker 1: a month or so since he had gone Opoh, that's
- 7:52Speaker 1: a problem for the.
- 7:54Speaker 3: He just went upo the other day. We don't mean
- 7:56Speaker 3: a month or so. He went up on in the
- 7:57Speaker 3: three homer game. Yet he had won, so that doesn't
- 8:00Speaker 3: mean that that's not true. Guy, you can't can't believe
- 8:03Speaker 3: that month he did In the the LCS when he
- 8:06Speaker 3: went opo his third home run, he went left center,
- 8:09Speaker 3: so it only been like a week. They kept saying
- 8:12Speaker 3: that against the Brewers he did it and when he
- 8:15Speaker 3: hit off, McGill was the left center.
- 8:19Speaker 2: I'm like, I didn't understand that why they kept saying that.
- 8:21Speaker 2: But anyways, I digress.
- 8:24Speaker 3: This last one it was I mean, but just I mean,
- 8:26Speaker 3: this one, this one's up and in Max is like,
- 8:29Speaker 3: no way, he just got to that. The balls up
- 8:31Speaker 3: and in off the plate and he got to it.
- 8:34Speaker 3: And then the next one when he went opo was
- 8:37Speaker 3: just crazy. I think it was ninety eight down in
- 8:39Speaker 3: a way and he just right there. I mean, I
- 8:42Speaker 3: just don't know what you do. You know, Schmaltz kept saying,
- 8:45Speaker 3: pitch him away, pitching away. Well, Domingas pitches himway and
- 8:47Speaker 3: he goes OPO. I don't know what you do unless
- 8:50Speaker 3: you walk him when he gets locked in like this.
- 8:51Speaker 3: So the real question for me is, did he win
- 8:55Speaker 3: an MVP tonight? If the Dodgers win the World Series
- 9:00Speaker 3: just by going nine for nine getting on base, did
- 9:02Speaker 3: he just win the MVP for the World Series by
- 9:05Speaker 3: just one game?
- 9:07Speaker 1: It certainly puts him in a nice position, But I
- 9:10Speaker 1: think we need to see what happens the rest of
- 9:12Speaker 1: the series, right, I mean, what if the Blue Jays
- 9:16Speaker 1: make a little run here the next couple of days
- 9:18Speaker 1: and then Yamamoto throws up another CG.
- 9:23Speaker 3: I mean, if he does another CG, then you can
- 9:25Speaker 3: go ahead and give it to the trophy's going back
- 9:27Speaker 3: to Japan. But it's going back on Yamamoto's playing, not
- 9:30Speaker 3: on Chilh's playing.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Dude, he was ready to go nine tonight this morning,
- 9:34Speaker 1: slash this morning, depending on where you're watching.
- 9:37Speaker 4: When he was warming up, I went into the app
- 9:39Speaker 4: and I locked in MVP Yamamoto. It was paying out
- 9:43Speaker 4: like plus nine hundred. So I was like, yep, lock
- 9:46Speaker 4: it in. If this dude comes in and throws one
- 9:47Speaker 4: inning and gets this win, that would be just ridiculous.
- 9:53Speaker 1: I have some questions about the pitching decisions and heros
- 9:56Speaker 1: in this one too, Like a Will Cline quick mention everyone,
- 9:59Speaker 1: that's why right now just hit a subscribe if he can,
- 10:02Speaker 1: that would be sweet. Appreciate you, foul Territory live one
- 10:06Speaker 1: to three Eastern every single day. West Coasters, I know
- 10:10Speaker 1: a lot of you are up. I also threw this
- 10:12Speaker 1: in the chat. I was like, if you're an East Coaster,
- 10:14Speaker 1: where are you watching from? Right now? You up baseball
- 10:17Speaker 1: the way it should be covered. Please subscribe?
- 10:19Speaker 4: All right?
- 10:20Speaker 1: Back to the action here. So aj Will Klein was
- 10:24Speaker 1: a superhero for the Dodgers out of the bullpen that much.
- 10:29Speaker 3: I mean Eric Glower's gonna get lost. I mean Eric
- 10:31Speaker 3: Glower went four and two thirds two hits.
- 10:34Speaker 1: He's a from starter though, I mean he was a
- 10:35Speaker 1: starter ump this year.
- 10:37Speaker 3: I don't care like he pit against this lineup like
- 10:40Speaker 3: you can say whatever you want. The Blue Jays had
- 10:43Speaker 3: some of their big guns. Not Springer goes down but
- 10:45Speaker 3: shuts out. They had to make some moves for some
- 10:49Speaker 3: for some other things. They lose Alejandro Kirk for a
- 10:51Speaker 3: pinch runner, so right, so they had to make some moves.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Barger was out, They had to make some moves. And
- 10:57Speaker 3: but Lauer went up against the heart of this Dodger's
- 10:59Speaker 3: lineup when four and two thirds with two hits and
- 11:02Speaker 3: didn't give up any runs.
- 11:03Speaker 2: I mean, yes, what will Klin did was unbelievable.
- 11:06Speaker 3: And let's not forget Enriquez and she and two two
- 11:09Speaker 3: and two thirds. Okay, there's a lot of guys. Hoffman
- 11:11Speaker 3: gave him two innings. Sident, there's a lot and this
- 11:13Speaker 3: whole line of bullpen guys was unbelievable for both teams.
- 11:17Speaker 3: But you know when you talk about pitching Glasstow four
- 11:21Speaker 3: and two thirds and you go bond to a third
- 11:23Speaker 3: trying in a third Dryer, a third Kershaw third, there's
- 11:29Speaker 3: four of your guys, especially Kershaw, and gave you some link.
- 11:32Speaker 3: They all pitched a third of an inning, so they
- 11:34Speaker 3: kind of put themselves behind the a ball and they're
- 11:36Speaker 3: lucky that Will Klin gave an epic performance because otherwise
- 11:42Speaker 3: I don't know where they would have been because it
- 11:43Speaker 3: was one third, one third, one third and I know
- 11:45Speaker 3: Dave Roberts thought they'd scored at some point, but you
- 11:47Speaker 3: got also had that contingency. And I thought the Blue
- 11:50Speaker 3: Jays did a nice job with Lauer giving them that
- 11:53Speaker 3: mink by kind of saving them. Now, no one could
- 11:55Speaker 3: predicts it's gonna go eighteen innings, But I thought the
- 11:56Speaker 3: Blue Jays did a good job with their bullpen.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Yeah, they did a job with their bullpen. I don't
- 12:01Speaker 1: think they did a good job with their lineup card
- 12:04Speaker 1: because that ends up being an issue, right, I.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Mean, okay, yeah, but Springer goes down. Okay, nothing you
- 12:11Speaker 3: can do about that.
- 12:12Speaker 1: You getting checked out, Kirk.
- 12:15Speaker 2: You have to pinch run for at some point.
- 12:16Speaker 3: That's the one problem with Allejandro do a j Yes,
- 12:20Speaker 3: because yes, because I forget where he was. But at
- 12:22Speaker 3: some point, yeah, you're hoping that, yeah he was. At
- 12:25Speaker 3: first you hope that you know, he scores on a
- 12:28Speaker 3: someone hits a double and you score, right, and then
- 12:30Speaker 3: you run into Bobasheed had to come out because you ran.
- 12:34Speaker 3: I think they ran. They ran for him, didn't they,
- 12:36Speaker 3: Because like we talked about an FT, he's basically on
- 12:39Speaker 3: a rehab assignment, right and imagine, Okay, so then I
- 12:44Speaker 3: forget why they took Barger.
- 12:46Speaker 2: I don't know what happened that one.
- 12:48Speaker 3: That one was, I forget why they I mean that
- 12:50Speaker 3: was I don't even know what ennying that was in
- 12:52Speaker 3: h let's see Barger, ty Franz came in, Schneider came in.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Pincher Runner, Oh Straw Pinch ran for him again. It
- 13:01Speaker 3: was another pinch Runner situation.
- 13:02Speaker 2: So I get it. I get it. I don't.
- 13:07Speaker 1: I know, he's not last, he's not Straw.
- 13:09Speaker 3: But like I mean, but my favorite part of these games,
- 13:14Speaker 3: my favorite part of these games is going through the
- 13:16Speaker 3: lineup and looking. There's always one guy that had that game, Cratz,
- 13:20Speaker 3: can you guess who the guy was? It was over seven?
- 13:23Speaker 3: And that there was a guy that went over seven
- 13:25Speaker 3: in this game. I know exactly who it was. My lock,
- 13:29Speaker 3: Max Muncy.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Loving it your.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Lock of course, Crats is that's so bad.
- 13:43Speaker 3: Comett one for eight. I mean, it's it's yeah, I mean,
- 13:47Speaker 3: there's always that one. And Pie's was over five before
- 13:50Speaker 3: he got taken out for call, so it's always one guy.
- 13:54Speaker 4: I don't I don't think Pies comes out of the lineup.
- 13:58Speaker 4: I mean, we talked about on the show Struggle with
- 14:01Speaker 4: offense late in the game, like he stays in there,
- 14:06Speaker 4: the dude runs the balls down in center field, Like,
- 14:09Speaker 4: this's just sorry, you can't you can't take him out.
- 14:12Speaker 4: I get it, he went over five tonight, but I'm
- 14:15Speaker 4: still sticking with him because for the most part, the
- 14:19Speaker 4: boys are pitching, so we need we need all the
- 14:22Speaker 4: defense we can get.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Funniest line, there's a few things I want to bring up. Yes,
- 14:28Speaker 1: it was one of the most exciting and most exhausting games.
- 14:30Speaker 1: And also I just I want to make sure we
- 14:33Speaker 1: give love to, you know, the beginning slash middle like
- 14:37Speaker 1: the game. Obviously I think got a little crazy with
- 14:40Speaker 1: the swings, like we were talking about in extras. But
- 14:42Speaker 1: before that, there were so many memorable moments that were occurring.
- 14:47Speaker 1: But to go back to a funny line, I just
- 14:48Speaker 1: remember this, I mean, we get word that Doc Roberts
- 14:52Speaker 1: was considering a position player after Will Klein until Yamamoto volunteered.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Can you imagine if Miguel Rojas was pitching in this
- 15:03Speaker 1: game World Series on the line right a huge Game three,
- 15:09Speaker 1: It's like we're I mean, obviously we were texting all night,
- 15:12Speaker 1: our whole group, but we're like, no way they're putting
- 15:14Speaker 1: a position player in this game right now.
- 15:16Speaker 2: No, I don't.
- 15:18Speaker 4: I think it's a situation where Doc. Doc wasn't going
- 15:21Speaker 4: to be the one to go to Snell, Yamamoto, any
- 15:26Speaker 4: of those. He wasn't going to be the one to
- 15:27Speaker 4: go to those guys and say, yeah, like I need
- 15:32Speaker 4: you to I need you to throw for me. He
- 15:34Speaker 4: needed one of them to step up and say it,
- 15:37Speaker 4: because he would never be a to live with himself
- 15:39Speaker 4: if one of those guys got hurt because he went
- 15:42Speaker 4: to them.
- 15:43Speaker 1: So Blake Snell probably threw already today like a throw
- 15:49Speaker 1: day for him if he pitched Game one. Is that
- 15:52Speaker 1: why he wouldn't be someone that could volunteer an inning
- 15:55Speaker 1: or two?
- 15:56Speaker 2: Yeah, say it was his pen.
- 15:57Speaker 4: I would say, he threw his side today, So okay,
- 16:01Speaker 4: you're not going to get hit. You're not going to
- 16:02Speaker 4: have him get hot again?
- 16:05Speaker 1: Right, And I will tomorrow.
- 16:08Speaker 4: Or even Yamamoto might even be pushed farther because they'll
- 16:12Speaker 4: have that off day there.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Too, right, And I mean, I think it's worth pointing
- 16:19Speaker 1: out a ja. You know, we had talked about this
- 16:21Speaker 1: like a week or two ago. Yamamoto coming off the
- 16:24Speaker 1: last complete game, like oh, you know, has he done
- 16:27Speaker 1: it a lot in Japan? He g had done it
- 16:28Speaker 1: a ton of times in Japan. I mean, pitchers trained
- 16:31Speaker 1: differently in Japan. And obviously Yamamoto is a freak. But
- 16:36Speaker 1: I would not have been surprised if they needed four
- 16:39Speaker 1: or five innings from him, like if he just would
- 16:42Speaker 1: have kept going, because it's at this point so important, right,
- 16:46Speaker 1: it's a pivotal game three. They'll figure it out and
- 16:49Speaker 1: they have, you know, a deep starting staff, that's the thing.
- 16:52Speaker 1: But we were starting to speculate what was going to
- 16:55Speaker 1: happen going forward here and then going back just to
- 16:59Speaker 1: some earlier parts in the game. A j a favorite
- 17:03Speaker 1: defensive moment. I mean, for me, a few that sent
- 17:06Speaker 1: out are multiple Edmund throws that were money, definitely making
- 17:10Speaker 1: up for for the tough error and the Vlad play
- 17:13Speaker 1: in the bottom of the sixth when he threw that
- 17:17Speaker 1: little dart over to Clement.
- 17:20Speaker 3: I mean, the two Edmund the two Edmund plays to
- 17:22Speaker 3: me were awesome. Uh, the Lad had a nice Lad
- 17:26Speaker 3: didn't hit, but Vlad had a nice game defensively and
- 17:29Speaker 3: the running of the bases on that bashed double, well
- 17:31Speaker 3: it should have been a double as a single uh,
- 17:33Speaker 3: because he can't run where he scored from that on
- 17:37Speaker 3: that ball down the right field line. I thought lad
- 17:38Speaker 3: had all around really good game. The play he made
- 17:43Speaker 3: on the throw was a great throw. I thought the
- 17:45Speaker 3: base running was great. The two plays by Edmund were unbelievable.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Uh the one where he slid and then popped up
- 17:51Speaker 3: and threw the guy out a third and then also
- 17:53Speaker 3: on the relay throw that kept the game tied. I
- 17:56Speaker 3: thought this was just a really really well played well.
- 17:59Speaker 3: The the other one they had where they threw Freddy
- 18:01Speaker 3: at home too was awesome. Uh over gosh, oh wow,
- 18:08Speaker 3: what if the best part of that was he like
- 18:09Speaker 3: took his time and he's like, you're so out and
- 18:12Speaker 3: he came up and threw it. I think ninety nine
- 18:14Speaker 3: they said, I mean that was perfect. No hops, Kirk
- 18:18Speaker 3: catches in. Poor fred was like, I'm not fast, Freddy
- 18:21Speaker 3: right now, I'm out.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Hey.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I mean, oh, go ahead, Kratz. I was just gonna say,
- 18:27Speaker 1: Alejandro Kirk getting shoheo Tani caught stealing in the bottom
- 18:31Speaker 1: of the ninth, I thought was pretty money. With the
- 18:33Speaker 1: exchange for our catchers here.
- 18:36Speaker 4: That was legit. I would have been safe had he
- 18:37Speaker 4: stayed on the base. But the pick by Ernie Clement,
- 18:43Speaker 4: like I get it, most first basement don't come off
- 18:45Speaker 4: and they are able to make that throw, especially like
- 18:47Speaker 4: falling down. Ernie Clement was just like it was a pick,
- 18:51Speaker 4: It was a short hop and he instead of like
- 18:53Speaker 4: the whole like ole come up with it and then
- 18:56Speaker 4: have to come down, he was just smooth right into
- 19:00Speaker 4: right into the tag.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Like.
- 19:02Speaker 4: There were so many awesome plays And it could have
- 19:05Speaker 4: had the Dodgers lost this game, you know, it could
- 19:07Speaker 4: have been, you know, kind of a karma game for
- 19:10Speaker 4: him for saying what they said about the what they
- 19:13Speaker 4: said about the Yankees. Ah, you know they'll make some
- 19:15Speaker 4: base running mistakes. Ah yeah, you know they'll make some
- 19:18Speaker 4: they'll make some fielding errors. But you know what, they
- 19:20Speaker 4: came back and they won the game. So nobody can
- 19:23Speaker 4: say a word.
- 19:24Speaker 2: That's right.
- 19:25Speaker 1: They have Freddy. You have Freddy. He did it, uh
- 19:30Speaker 1: for the Blue Jays. So AJ, how does a team
- 19:34Speaker 1: like Toronto bounce back from this? Obviously the Dodgers are
- 19:36Speaker 1: feeling high. Otani's lined up and then you can rerack
- 19:41Speaker 1: the rotation. You feel great about that. I think of
- 19:44Speaker 1: anything too for La it's a good competence boost for
- 19:47Speaker 1: a bullpen that was very limited in terms of circle
- 19:51Speaker 1: of trust. And on the Toronto side, I mean, Boba
- 19:55Speaker 1: Schett had some nice moments tonight, but like you said,
- 19:58Speaker 1: I mean he's probably not gonna play all three now.
- 20:00Speaker 1: George Springer's hurt right side, you think it probably oblique.
- 20:03Speaker 1: I mean that lineup's getting beat up right now.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you're right.
- 20:08Speaker 3: I mean, good thing Bashett didn't go all eighteen tonight,
- 20:12Speaker 3: but he'll be in there tomorrow. Kirk will be in
- 20:14Speaker 3: there tomorrow. I don't know what they're gonna do with Springer.
- 20:17Speaker 3: I mean, all their guys are going to be back
- 20:19Speaker 3: in there tomorrow ready to go. But yeah, man, it's stinks.
- 20:21Speaker 3: You don't want to see anybody anytime anybody grabs like
- 20:24Speaker 3: their side, it's oh, I've been there, done that.
- 20:27Speaker 2: It sucks.
- 20:27Speaker 3: So I think that, yeah, this one, this one hurts
- 20:31Speaker 3: George Springer and not the presence. And how many times
- 20:33Speaker 3: did it come up tonight? They kept talking about it
- 20:36Speaker 3: and here's Springer and it was Ty France, or it
- 20:38Speaker 3: was David Schneider, mister mustachio right instead of George Springer.
- 20:44Speaker 2: In those moments.
- 20:45Speaker 3: And don't think the Dodgers didn't see that either. I
- 20:47Speaker 3: don't think the Dodgers also didn't look and be like, oh,
- 20:49Speaker 3: there's no Kirk, Oh there's no Bushitt. Nothing against these
- 20:52Speaker 3: other guys, and know they're big leaguers, but it's not
- 20:55Speaker 3: the same. It's a presence. It's a thing, man, when
- 20:57Speaker 3: those real guys are in there.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Yeah it is. Wait, let's step aside for a quick
- 21:02Speaker 1: sec quickie break. Give us sixty seconds to re rack,
- 21:05Speaker 1: and then we'll keep rolling here on the postgame Show.

- 22:18Speaker 1: thousand live in the chat. We love that it's presented
- 22:21Speaker 1: by a Fox one and you can watch the rest
- 22:23Speaker 1: of the world series obviously on the new Fox one app.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Game three MVP. We close the poll forty percent going
- 22:30Speaker 1: to Will Climb, thirty nine percent to show Hey, nineteen
- 22:34Speaker 1: percent to Freddy, two percent to Lour. There was some
- 22:37Speaker 1: in the chat that were like, how do you not
- 22:38Speaker 1: give it to the guy that hits the walk off?
- 22:41Speaker 1: I mean, in most cases that is what you do.
- 22:43Speaker 3: But this game, by the way, I love, I love,
- 22:48Speaker 3: we keep I keep, I kept talking about this.
- 22:50Speaker 2: There's a couple of things that we need to dig into. One.
- 22:53Speaker 3: Uh, Will Klein has done more than thirty pitches. They
- 22:56Speaker 3: kept saying it, Everyone keeps talking about it. But he
- 22:57Speaker 3: through numerous times this year, or he went over thirty
- 23:01Speaker 3: pitches in a game. He never got the sixties, but
- 23:03Speaker 3: he did throw over thirties. Theyone was like, oh, I's
- 23:05Speaker 3: ever thrown thirty pitches. That's not true, and he also
- 23:07Speaker 3: did it last year. So thank you Mark for and
- 23:10Speaker 3: you know who you are for that. And then I
- 23:12Speaker 3: checked it and he's right. But then also do we
- 23:15Speaker 3: even forget about the Bobaschett thing that happened in like
- 23:17Speaker 3: that was at the second inning, Like have you ever
- 23:20Speaker 3: seen that? Like that happened so long ago that people
- 23:24Speaker 3: don't even remember that Bobachett was Listen, Mark Wegner has
- 23:28Speaker 3: a slow call, but you can hear him verbally say
- 23:30Speaker 3: strike right. And so that's the varshow kind of tricked
- 23:36Speaker 3: his base runner into getting picked off. And the weirdest,
- 23:40Speaker 3: one of the weirdest plays I've ever seen, but I
- 23:42Speaker 3: mean people forget and then I think he was it.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Then Kirk got the hit, so they would have scored
- 23:46Speaker 3: a run there, so that it would have been it
- 23:49Speaker 3: would have been different.
- 23:50Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know if if Mischell would
- 23:52Speaker 2: have scored, I think he would have though.
- 23:54Speaker 4: Yeah, that's why I'm not sure. He didn't hit it
- 23:57Speaker 4: super hard. But it wasn't like a bleeder either, because left.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Tayo was going to his left.
- 24:04Speaker 3: You know, that's usually an easy send for the third
- 24:07Speaker 3: base coach, even if even for someone like me and you,
- 24:09Speaker 3: we could have scored on that.
- 24:11Speaker 4: Yeah, but we weren't limping quite as bad as Bo was.
- 24:15Speaker 4: I still think Bo could beat us in a race,
- 24:18Speaker 4: just just saying.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Mark Wegner had a rough day. We'll get the umpire
- 24:23Speaker 1: report tomorrow, but some are built to last. It's so late.
- 24:28Speaker 1: I'm forgetting his name, but I love him. Who's the
- 24:30Speaker 1: guy who did your game? Five? Alds ajl On Porter's
- 24:38Speaker 1: the g He's so good and he's gonna make Mark
- 24:41Speaker 1: Wagner look bad. I mean, Porter went eighteen innings and
- 24:43Speaker 1: he was really sharp. Mark Wagner had so many misses
- 24:47Speaker 1: that I feel like people started to I don't want
- 24:49Speaker 1: to say not care, but they were just like, yeah,
- 24:50Speaker 1: I mean, this guy's missing left and right, especially late,
- 24:53Speaker 1: it was like up missing way down.
- 24:56Speaker 2: What as hawk One said, Wagner, what are you doing?
- 25:00Speaker 3: And if you haven't seen it, YouTube because it's a
- 25:02Speaker 3: great moment in White Sox history.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Wegner, what are you doing?
- 25:07Speaker 3: When he when he threw out Jose Tana for throwing
- 25:10Speaker 3: at ben Zobrist. Well, I may or may not have
- 25:15Speaker 3: had something. I may or may not have been in
- 25:17Speaker 3: the middle of that. I'm just saying, what are you doing?
- 25:23Speaker 1: Ridiculous? Yeah, it was. It was rough for him all
- 25:26Speaker 1: evening and I mean, you know, this is like the
- 25:30Speaker 1: precursor that we're getting here right at the buzzer. These
- 25:34Speaker 1: are the last few World Series games that will ever
- 25:36Speaker 1: be all called by humans.
- 25:39Speaker 4: This is it.
- 25:39Speaker 1: We're never going back. If anything, there's a chance that
- 25:42Speaker 1: at some point a robot calls all of the pitches.
- 25:45Speaker 1: But for now, next year, can you imagine if this
- 25:50Speaker 1: game occurred a year from now, we would have had.
- 25:56Speaker 3: It would have been a lot of challenges, a lot
- 26:01Speaker 3: of these.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Yeah, there was in big spots too, but.
- 26:06Speaker 3: There's a lot of There was a lot of challenges also,
- 26:09Speaker 3: like on plays in the field that I didn't know
- 26:11Speaker 3: or think were necessary. So a couple there was like
- 26:14Speaker 3: the guy was out, it looked like they were clearly out.
- 26:16Speaker 3: They're clearly safe, and there was some challenges, but you know, hey,
- 26:19Speaker 3: you got him, you might as well use them.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I'm like, yeah, that's not going to
- 26:26Speaker 1: be a thing on this one.
- 26:28Speaker 4: There was some There was some crew chief reviews. I
- 26:31Speaker 4: loved it. They would just went straight to the crewchief review.
- 26:34Speaker 4: Later in the game they were just I think it
- 26:36Speaker 4: was like two or three of them like, don't even
- 26:38Speaker 4: don't even like make the team use their challenge, Like, hey,
- 26:41Speaker 4: you know what, maybe it's close, we got to check.
- 26:45Speaker 4: Just getting it right, So kudos to them. Kudos to
- 26:47Speaker 4: the umpires that were standing the entire game. They don't
- 26:51Speaker 4: go and get to sit down during the Jonas Brothers concert.
- 26:54Speaker 4: They're standing. That's all they're doing. Maybe one of them
- 26:58Speaker 4: leans on a fence or something, but they're sore out there.
- 27:01Speaker 4: And Mark Wagner he gets the day off tomorrow.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Hey, Justin Bieber I think was in the MLB suite
- 27:09Speaker 1: and I was like, is he about to go out
- 27:12Speaker 1: there mid fifteen and do a performance just to see
- 27:16Speaker 1: if it freezes anyone. Hey, you got to think about
- 27:20Speaker 1: it now. You just don't know MLB. You never know
- 27:22Speaker 1: what to expect. A couple questions, can we throw that
- 27:26Speaker 1: one back on there? The super Chat question? Love that rollo.
- 27:32Speaker 1: If Dodgers are up three to one in the series
- 27:35Speaker 1: and Game five is close, would they pitch Yama in
- 27:39Speaker 1: late innings to close out the game in the series,
- 27:41Speaker 1: keeping them from going back to Toronto like they did
- 27:44Speaker 1: with Bueller last year? So AJ, we're going way ahead.
- 27:48Speaker 2: But I must say no to I'm going to say
- 27:51Speaker 2: no to that one. Now.
- 27:52Speaker 3: Would they use a glass now or someone like that? Possibly? Yes,
- 27:55Speaker 3: but I'm going to say no just because you kind
- 27:58Speaker 3: of have to play the long game. The differences last year,
- 28:03Speaker 3: I think the Dodgers can were better equipped to do
- 28:05Speaker 3: a bullpen game than they are this year, so by
- 28:07Speaker 3: using Bueller they felt better about it. So I'm gonna
- 28:11Speaker 3: say no just for that fact. And I believe that,
- 28:14Speaker 3: and I've said this storybook ending they have a big
- 28:19Speaker 3: lead Game five, Clayton Kershaw comes in and closes it
- 28:23Speaker 3: out and ends his career as a World Series champion.
- 28:26Speaker 3: I'm not saying it's gonna happen, but it would be
- 28:27Speaker 3: really awesome if that's how it went down. And by
- 28:29Speaker 3: the way, also tonight they were like, that could be
- 28:31Speaker 3: Clayton Kershaw's last game ever pitching. Why, Like what if
- 28:35Speaker 3: I have to use him later? Like, I don't understand
- 28:36Speaker 3: what they're like just writing people off.
- 28:38Speaker 1: I don't know, Well, he's not in like that immediate
- 28:41Speaker 1: circle for them, so and I do think they want
- 28:44Speaker 1: him to have a moment and that that could have
- 28:46Speaker 1: been the moment. Right if we look and that ends
- 28:49Speaker 1: up being his moment, bases loaded and he gets them
- 28:51Speaker 1: out of it, I think he'll take that.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Yeah, but I just I mean, it was just you
- 29:00Speaker 2: don't write off guys like that. I don't know whatever.
- 29:02Speaker 3: Anyways, But the beggar question I got for y'all is
- 29:06Speaker 3: Shane Bieber actually warmed up and he's pitching tomorrow. Do
- 29:09Speaker 3: you think that affects him more? What affects you more
- 29:11Speaker 3: running the bases nine times or actually warming up if
- 29:15Speaker 3: you're the starting pitcher the next day? Because I don't know,
- 29:20Speaker 3: we'll see, we'll know, we'll know in about well, hopefully
- 29:24Speaker 3: not twenty four hours, because I don't think I can
- 29:26Speaker 3: do another one of these, but we'll know, and we'll
- 29:30Speaker 3: know in the next twenty one hours which wears them out,
- 29:33Speaker 3: which wears you out more?
- 29:37Speaker 1: How much warming up? Though, like we don't know.
- 29:40Speaker 3: I mean, he was throwing like he was throwing throwing.
- 29:44Speaker 3: The fact that he was in the bullpen with spikes
- 29:46Speaker 3: on throwing throwing means he was like they showed him
- 29:49Speaker 3: on the mound. He wasn't just down there doing the
- 29:51Speaker 3: old we went the cords. You know that there is
- 29:55Speaker 3: the beer cans and pour out the beer cans, all
- 29:57Speaker 3: that stuff. You know, he was actually throw growing on
- 30:00Speaker 3: the mound. So he warmed up to some extent.
- 30:05Speaker 1: We'll climb not available most likely tomorrow Roki Sazaki and
- 30:11Speaker 1: twenty nine pitches or today whatever. Yeah, exactly, I mean,
- 30:14Speaker 1: that's that's tough for him. But yeah, he pitched a ton,
- 30:17Speaker 1: so it'll be interesting to see who can eat up
- 30:21Speaker 1: some serious innings show he and Bieber in this next matchup.
- 30:26Speaker 1: We'll do a lot of previewing other pitch counts. Henrika's
- 30:29Speaker 1: thirty she h thirty seven. I mean a good joke
- 30:35Speaker 1: by our crew buying the scenes, like if this was
- 30:37Speaker 1: a regular season game, you know, half these guys would
- 30:39Speaker 1: be optioned. They would just be doing your favorite shuttle
- 30:42Speaker 1: crats and getting a whole new bullpen ready for the
- 30:45Speaker 1: next day. I mean, it's the World Series. Guys are
- 30:47Speaker 1: going to do what they have to do. But we
- 30:49Speaker 1: have two more games in a row coming up.
- 30:55Speaker 4: Yeah, it is, this is This is the worst time
- 30:58Speaker 4: for this to happen, for either to If it happened
- 31:02Speaker 4: on game game five or it happened on game.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Two, it'd be a little different.
- 31:07Speaker 4: But we're we're in it now, so it's definitely gonna
- 31:12Speaker 4: be I don't think there's gonna be another will clein moment,
- 31:15Speaker 4: but it's definitely gonna be something. It'd be interesting to
- 31:17Speaker 4: see how Yamamoto bounces back to see what they're going
- 31:22Speaker 4: to actually push show head to show Hay's a monster.
- 31:27Speaker 4: If anybody can do something crazy, it's show Hey. But
- 31:31Speaker 4: how much are they gonna push him? He was he
- 31:34Speaker 4: was on base nine times, nine times, and now they're
- 31:38Speaker 4: gonna expect six innings out of them. That might not
- 31:41Speaker 4: be enough because I don't think you can get more
- 31:43Speaker 4: than maybe an inning out of Yamamode. I'm out of Sasaki.
- 31:47Speaker 4: I doubt it's even that much, I would be surprised
- 31:50Speaker 4: if he pitches tomorrow night.
- 31:52Speaker 1: My only thing is I think that some bullpen dudes
- 31:55Speaker 1: with the Dodgers suddenly are like, Okay, I'm good, I
- 31:58Speaker 1: come back right. I mean Henriquez Edgardo Henriquez for example,
- 32:04Speaker 1: Like he looked like a mess in the wild card,
- 32:07Speaker 1: but like he's got great stuff and he's one O
- 32:09Speaker 1: two if he if he knows where it's going, aj
- 32:11Speaker 1: you catch him on a good week, it's good stuff.
- 32:14Speaker 1: So he might be like, okay, I'm dialed. I'm good now.
- 32:18Speaker 1: I mean, he wasn't even on the roster after that.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Now he's back, right, He wasn't on the roster at
- 32:23Speaker 1: least for one round, if not both in between that
- 32:25Speaker 1: time period and now you get to see him and
- 32:27Speaker 1: you're like, okay, they still believe in him long term.
- 32:30Speaker 1: He just had a bad outing.
- 32:33Speaker 3: They'll be fine tomorrow because again, you know, Kershaw a
- 32:36Speaker 3: third of an inning, trying in the third of an inning,
- 32:39Speaker 3: Dryer a third of an inning. They got some dudes.
- 32:42Speaker 3: I think Rokie can go back. If you know, game
- 32:44Speaker 3: gets out of hand, well, you'll definitely see Enriquez. You
- 32:47Speaker 3: could probably see Sheen again. I think I think theyren.
- 32:52Speaker 3: They're both these bullpens are gonna be fine. You're gonna
- 32:54Speaker 3: need some many. I actually worry more about, like I said,
- 32:57Speaker 3: the Blue Jays because Bieber and what he to warm
- 33:00Speaker 3: up and then he had, he wasn't great. So they're
- 33:02Speaker 3: gonna need some outside of him. So that's going to
- 33:05Speaker 3: be the key is where do they find the outs
- 33:07Speaker 3: out of their starting pitchering for both these teams.
- 33:10Speaker 2: So we'll see how it goes. Well, what a game tonight?
- 33:14Speaker 2: What a what a what a game tonight? What a game?
- 33:17Speaker 1: I mean, what a game? Yeah?
- 33:22Speaker 2: Do you hit a homer?
- 33:23Speaker 4: Do you hit a homer and get four hits and
- 33:26Speaker 4: you're not even in the top discussion about m VP
- 33:30Speaker 4: of the game, tell you had four hits? Like, I
- 33:34Speaker 4: feel like we kind of glossed over that too much.
- 33:38Speaker 4: A guy that didn't have any hits. I think going
- 33:39Speaker 4: into today's game, maybe I'm wrong on.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Right now you're right over seven five ks entering. I'm
- 33:45Speaker 1: pretty sure. Yeah, four hits. That was like a game
- 33:49Speaker 1: that was like a game ago now. But yes, credit
- 33:52Speaker 1: to Tao finding it a little bit. Yeah, I mean
- 33:55Speaker 1: there were great moments early earlier on in this game, Hey,
- 33:59Speaker 1: they took out mad Max and he didn't complain, and
- 34:01Speaker 1: then Floridy kind of blew it there right, gave up
- 34:05Speaker 1: a couple runs for four Jay's go back up Otani
- 34:10Speaker 1: to the rescue. I mean, just craziness. What we'll do
- 34:12Speaker 1: is we'll do a lot more recapping for the one
- 34:15Speaker 1: o'clock show later to do on FT. But I was
- 34:18Speaker 1: just finishing up some pitch counts little twenty nine Jeff
- 34:21Speaker 1: Hoffman thirty three pitches like it's it's going to be
- 34:25Speaker 1: entertaining to watch the next one. Here between these two
- 34:29Speaker 1: some notes on our way out, and then I have
- 34:31Speaker 1: one fun note to finish with. But Dodger's Territory post
- 34:34Speaker 1: show is live right now, so if you want to
- 34:36Speaker 1: watch that, go to it, or we can redirect you
- 34:38Speaker 1: to it once we are officially done in the next
- 34:39Speaker 1: couple of minutes. We're on tomorrow top of the show,
- 34:43Speaker 1: Kevin Burkhardt from Fox joining us Jack Harris giving us
- 34:48Speaker 1: Dodgers perspective. He's always one of the favorites that we
- 34:51Speaker 1: bring on. What else am I missing for tomorrow? There
- 34:55Speaker 1: was something else that I was supposed to be doing.
- 34:57Speaker 1: I forgot but anyway, yeah, now I moved to that.
- 35:02Speaker 1: That's another topic, like in a few hours. Is now
- 35:06Speaker 1: going to be after the show, and then I'll get
- 35:08Speaker 1: down for the postgame show. Yeah, Game four postgame show
- 35:11Speaker 1: we will do, so I want to let everyone know
- 35:14Speaker 1: that it will hopefully not be yet three in the morning.
- 35:16Speaker 1: There you go, Game four show, tany pitching, Alejandro Kirk
- 35:21Speaker 1: back in action as he only played about a half
- 35:23Speaker 1: a game, and we'll go over anything that we didn't
- 35:27Speaker 1: get to. I'll kind of think about anything else that
- 35:28Speaker 1: we didn't touch on in the ft show that we're
- 35:31Speaker 1: doing on whatever day it is, today afternoon. And lastly,
- 35:36Speaker 1: you know what the loopy chat is buzzing about. When
- 35:39Speaker 1: I mentioned and someone else mentioned Justin Bieber, they were like,
- 35:42Speaker 1: anyone catch Bieber sitting next to Gary Sheffield.
- 35:46Speaker 4: And they didn't even mention Sheffield on a baseball show.
- 35:49Speaker 2: They're like, Kristin Bieber. And then they went on to
- 35:53Speaker 2: the next one.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Former Dodger Gary sheffields Yeah, former ft poo that's right.
- 36:02Speaker 1: Chef's chef's a regular.
- 36:04Speaker 3: I saw a chef on Saturday. He was telling me,
- 36:08Speaker 3: He's like, yeah, I couldn't go to Toronto, So I'm
- 36:09Speaker 3: going to LA for the three games.
- 36:11Speaker 2: So yeah, he was sitting there.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Next time we have him on, we got to ask
- 36:15Speaker 1: what that that conversation.
- 36:17Speaker 4: Was like, Yeah, for sure there's more street credit, Gary
- 36:22Speaker 4: Sheffield or Justin Bieber.
- 36:25Speaker 1: Oh, chef by far, it's not close. All right, that's it.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Let's close the book. Everyone go to bad kind of
