- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: Check them out, Jack Wars fans.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome in to Dove All Daily, presented by Jinjak.com.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Aluga, thanks so much for being here Friday, October 17th.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_00]: We're just a little over 48 hours away from your Jack Wars, taking on the Rams in London.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be 9.30 a.m.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: Eastern Time.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be 6.30 a.m.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: Pacific time for all those folks out there in L.A.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: California following and covering the Rams, right?
- 0:31[SPEAKER_00]: So wild times, wild times.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's like 230 pm in the afternoon in London over there.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: So we're getting into matchups to watch critical matchups in this game that I think are going to help define the game in a lot of ways.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: The first couple ones we're going to talk about are huge, but I really do think every single matchup here that we're
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: uh... for the potential outcome of this game and uh... it's a big one i don't think it's a must win like it's falling to four and three a death now friday team no but it is a big game it's a game that
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: Somehow the difference, it seems like every week between winning and losing is just so big on the standings.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: Five and two versus four and three feels like just such a massive chasm between those two records.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: So one of these teams is gonna leave five and two.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: One of them is gonna leave four and three.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna talk about that here today.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: You can also check out jingyag.com slash shop.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: Pick up some new dovall gear.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like the hat I'm wearing right now.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: Every new order comes with one of these cute little jags stickers.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: Jenjag.com.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: So critical match up number one, this is low hanging fruit, it's easy, but it's true.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: Walker Little has been the weakest link in past protection for the Jag war so far this year.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: Um, he has been up and down though to be completely fair to him.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't been just like a horrible player all year.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: He's had three really good games.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: He's had three really bad games.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: They've played six games total.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: So it's either been very good or very bad for Walker Little and he's got a huge matchup against Jared Vers.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not just Walker Littleverse Jaredverse, that's the one I highlight, because I think Walker Little right now is the one if I was the Rams, that's who I would have circle of trying to attack with Jaredverse.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: But you've also got Byron Young, who is a really good player.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: Anton Harrison's gonna have to play well.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody has to play better on the offensive line than they did last week.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: This is a big test.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: Because while the Rams defensive line outside of Jaredverse
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: as physically imposing as some of the guys on the Seahawks defensive line, they are still really good and they bring the physicality and they're technically sound and they're athletic.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: Kobe Turner, Braden Fisk, Bire and young.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Bire and young.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if he's leading the League in Sax, but he is up there right now.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a lot of production.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: Jared Versailles Walker little is the one we start with, but it's really the whole thing.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: And hopefully, Robert Hainesy,
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully he can be a little bit of an upgrade just from a execution standpoint over what Jonah Monheim was last week, even though Monheim did a pretty good job all things considered.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: But you want Pansy to be able to be that leader, that captain, that he is the
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: Communicator, the one who's kind of like raising everyone around him a little bit, you're hoping for that He fully participated in practice yesterday, so it would be really big for them to get him back I think not only for past protection, but for the run game as well And then if the offensive line cannot hold their own cannot get the job done like what happened last week
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: What is the response coaching wise?
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: If your offense of lying can't win, they're one-on-ones, enough.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: The Rams aren't gonna be a Blitz every team, but they will stunt, they will move guys around a lot.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: And they'll blitz everyone's and all.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: What's the response from Liam Cohen if things go off the rails the way they did last week?
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: Because I don't think there was much of a response.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar's plan last week was to attack down the field, because they felt like, you know, we've got this advantage.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: The Seahawks are without three of their best defensive backs, but that plan was flawed because you couldn't really protect Trevor.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: Now Trevor still had a good game, but if you can't give Trevor a little bit more time,
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: you're going to have to figure something out an adjustment better than you did last week in my opinion, quicker than you did last week as well, on the other side of the ball.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: Greg Newsom and company versus Dhamontay Adams, Pooka Nuku, if he plays but Puka has not participated in practice yet this week.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: Today will be his last opportunity to participate in practice and we've been getting those injury reports a little bit earlier than normal because of the game being at 9.30 on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on on
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: Sunday.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: But De Monte Adams, as I talked about yesterday, he has smoked the Jaguars.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: He has scored a touchdown in every game I think he's ever played against the Jaguars.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: And the last two games, I believe he has 190 yards receiving and two touchdowns and 146 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not like those games were a super long time ago.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: One 98 and two was last year with the jets.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: And I think the other one was two years before that.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: So, uh,
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: Devante is a problem for the Jack Wars.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: He and Matthew Stavard have not shown that connection and chemistry, all that often and so far this year.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: But he can still kill the Jacks.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: We've seen that story too many times.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: Greg Newsom.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, Travis Hunter, the safeties, everybody, has to be all hands on deck on the back end there.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, do he has to be in a better spot.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: You know, if they play action, you know, if they have a play fake, you can't be biting too hard, you have to stay on your assignment.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: And that goes for everybody back there.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: But Devontek can be a killer.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: Cam Little versus the Up Rides, the Gold Post, whatever you want to say, Cam Little has been really poor this year for the Jaguars.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's really unfortunate to see kicking the kicker position is so fickle, it's so, it's like golf, it's like you get the yips, it's up in your head.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_00]: But he,
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: In three of the last four games, he's missed at least a kick.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: And against the Seahawks, he missed his only field goal opportunity, any missed an extra point.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: That was the first missed extra point of his career in college or professional.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: So, got to get it figured out there, Cam, because the Jaguars, they were leaving points on the board last week.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: That game, they only lost by eight.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: They were within one score of tying that game and had they made their kicks.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_00]: they would have been in position to win that game late.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: So it is what it is.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: Um, Brian Thomas Jr.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: is the middle of the field.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's that's been a losing battle as well.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: You've seen Brian Thomas Jr.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: drop.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: Straight up drop.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: You know, last week, third and five, I believe it was against the, in both of the Jaguar's losses, late in the game, Brian Thomas Jr.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: has dropped a wide open pass over the middle.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: That's unacceptable, completely unacceptable, and then you also can get into the ones where it's like alligator, arming, ducking, these things.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: Can he get over it?
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: He's playing really well on the perimeter right now.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: He absolutely is.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: There's no question about that.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: What he's doing on the perimeter is reminiscent of what you saw last year.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: But having a big square rectangle on the field of an area that it's like, this will not go well.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: If you target him here,
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: That's pretty scary for an offense in my opinion.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: Um, how about Darryce Williams versus Brian Thomas Jr.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: Good old Darryce Williams.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: He's playing pretty good football for the Rams.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: And I have always just been a huge Darryce Williams fan.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: This is a guy that really knows how to play the corner back position.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: He dealt with some injuries last year I believe.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: Early on wasn't really quite himself, but he ended up bouncing back and he's been good this year.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: And that's not a surprise in any way shape or form.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: Good football player.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: And the last couple weeks, he's been asked to play pretty much every defensive snap.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like Jack was got rid of him because he was too small to play in defense.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_00]: I always thought that was a mistake.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: From the moment that happened, I thought it was a mistake.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: Stereus Williams has played Mandy Fence in his career.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: Would have done a better job than Ronald Derby.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: And getting rid of a player for a coach like Ryan Nielsen, clearly a mistake.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: Now you're running primarily his own defense and you'd probably like to have somebody like Stereus Williams.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's neither here nor there at this point, but he will be playing on the opposite side this week.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: And you just hope that he doesn't shut you down.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_00]: He's done a good, I mean, the most yards he's allowed in a game so far this year is 34 in primary coverage.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: So good for Darius Williams, man, coming back.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: He's 32 years old, but he's playing good football.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: And you just hope the Jags end up being able to throw the ball in this one a little bit better than the, I mean, and they have been throwing the ball pretty well.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like there's been issues with it.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: There's been drops last week.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: There was horrible pass protection last week.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: But various Williamsers, Brian Thomas Jr.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: And the rest of the receivers in general will be a fun watch.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: You really kind of need, you need Britain's strange back, but that's not happening for at least a couple weeks.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: 100 long.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: I thought prior to last week when he was kind of thrust in the starting lineup had had a decent season as a number two tied in.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: Johnny month, I think has done some things, but these guys need to just not be a negative at the very least.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: That would be huge, because they were particularly 100 long was a negative last week.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: Final matchup and just as big as any of
- 12:02[SPEAKER_00]: Sean McVeigh coaching that offense versus Anthony Camponele in the defense.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_00]: I thought for more than half the game last week, Anthony Camponele got out coached.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_00]: He did adjust though, and the Jaguars ended up only allowing 20 points.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: However, those 20 points, they came in the first like 35 minutes of the game.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_00]: You got to be able to adjust quicker.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: You got to be able to dictate a little bit more.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_00]: It felt like the Seahawks were dictating the terms last week.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: They were attacking your leverage.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_00]: When they got into Max Protect, there was nothing you could do about it early on.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: When they went quick game, there was nothing you could do about it early on.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_00]: You did stop the run, which is going to be huge.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_00]: You always got to stop the run.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_00]: And that's been one of the keys to the Jaguar's even to success.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_00]: You gotta be able to adjust a little bit quicker if you need to, right?
- 13:03[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe you make adjustments as they're happening instead of like waiting so long.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I don't know.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's not easy to hold your own again, Sean McVe.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_00]: But that's the task for Anthony Campanylei this week.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a really good coach.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think if he had adjusted just a little bit quicker,
- 13:26[SPEAKER_00]: start getting more pressure looks last week.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: They would have been in better shape.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_00]: However, you don't want to send that much pressure against Matthew Stafford.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: You don't want to have to do that.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_00]: You want to be able to drop seven players.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: Now, can you get pressure by using sim pressures?
- 13:51[SPEAKER_00]: only sending four but you don't know where the four coming from can you get it with doing stunts and games up front.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's the hope.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_00]: Not an easy task but that's the job this week.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_00]: So McVaver's camp in LA, big one.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_00]: And again, his coverage guys got to do a little bit better on the back ends, particularly doing this week.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_00]: He was the culprit last week on a couple big plays.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: And there's some things you just have to live with and move on to the next down.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen talks about that.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_00]: The next play.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: The next play.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: The next play.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_00]: Don't worry about what just happened.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_00]: We're moving on.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: So, that's the matchup swatch for me.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know what you're looking for in the comment section below.
