- 0:41episode. Thank you all for tuning in this
- 0:44evening, afternoon, morning, wherever you may be.
- 0:48Thanks for tuning in to Man Talk 133, Where me and unite.
- 0:53So the topic I'm going to talk about tonight, let me start off
- 0:56by saying this right? Let me stop by saying this.
- 1:00I'm not a doctor. Anything that's shared is for
- 1:06educational purposes only. I am not a doctor.
- 1:11So what I'm sharing is not is is is I'm not a doctor.
- 1:19Let me say it like that. OK so y'all can understand right
- 1:22off the top, I'm not a doctor. OK, so tonight we're going to be
- 1:27talking about some everybody didn't experience before and
- 1:32some people probably experience it and now it's called walking
- 1:35paranoia. Is it your mind, your flesh, or
- 1:40your or just spiritual warfare? It just depends on where you are
- 1:43right? So excuse me, if you want a
- 1:48biblical base for this, the main scripture is going to be second
- 1:53Timothy 21 and seven. For God has not given us the
- 1:56spirit of fear, but power of but a power and love and a sound of
- 2:01mind. So let's get right into this
- 2:04tonight. Y'all OK Now today's discussion
- 2:09may change, may challenge many of us because you know we we
- 2:14experience moments of paranoia paranoia.
- 2:17Let me get my words right paranoia.
- 2:19Let me say this before I get started too.
- 2:21Hey, don't forget don't forget y'all check out check me out on
- 2:24all of my platforms, man. You know I'm a let's talk on
- 2:29Facebook, man talk 133 Instagram man talk 133, YouTube, man talk
- 2:34133, our heart, Pandora, apple all over the placement all just
- 2:45check me out check out all the platforms right also got a got a
- 2:51clothing line too. Is man talk 133 apparel company
- 2:57that will be up soon. So that's coming right.
- 3:01So today's discussion is going to challenge most of us because
- 3:05everybody's experienced this at some time or another, right?
- 3:10Some people leave, some people may think and believe
- 3:12everybody's against them. Some people think conversations
- 3:16is about them. You heard somebody, they were
- 3:18there talking. Now they talking about, I know
- 3:19they talking about me. I know they talking about they
- 3:22got to be talking about me. I know they are talking about me
- 3:25and they're probably not. Some assume every close door is
- 3:30proof that someone is plotting against them.
- 3:33I ain't get that job because they was they they were plotting
- 3:35against me. They they didn't really excuse
- 3:38me. They ain't really like me.
- 3:40That's why I ain't get that job. Now that you couldn't be you
- 3:44didn't meet the qualifications or you won't skilled enough at
- 3:49the job or you won't own your job long enough to get the job.
- 3:54But somebody plotting against you and another side of it,
- 3:59others can dismiss every strange feeling when they are actually,
- 4:03they actually may be in danger. Like for example, you know, they
- 4:08feel like, hey, you know, I ain't going to fall off this
- 4:12edge of this building. I'm good.
- 4:13I got it. You know, I, I know this is,
- 4:15this is, this is, this is nothing right here.
- 4:17I ain't going to fall when they're actually in danger.
- 4:19So tonight we're asking, when is paranoia psychological?
- 4:24When is the spiritual? How do we know the difference?
- 4:28Because misunderstanding either one can destroy relationships,
- 4:33careers, ministries, and even families.
- 4:36So what is paranoia? What is paranoia I Paranoia is a
- 4:41persistent, irrational distrust or suspicion of others, right?
- 4:47Let me say that again. Paranoia is a persistent or
- 4:51irrational distrust or suspicion of others.
- 4:56Examples could be I know they talking about me.
- 4:59My pastor, he secretly hate me. I know who I know he don't
- 5:02really like me. I know he don't.
- 5:04I can just I can just tell by the way he I can tell by the way
- 5:07he look at me sometimes He don't he don't like me.
- 5:11My coworkers trying to get me fired.
- 5:12You see him over there, that huddle, I know they're going to
- 5:16go tell the supervisor that I'm doing something that I ain't
- 5:19really doing. My friends have abandoned me.
- 5:24When your friends are right there the whole time, the
- 5:27problem is you have abandoned them.
- 5:29You don't even go around them like you used to, right?
- 5:33Sometimes those thoughts are true.
- 5:35Many times they are not true. You're making them up in your
- 5:40mind, just coming up with different things and thoughts
- 5:44and crazy Daisy thoughts that you, that all these people are
- 5:49against you. They trying to get you fired,
- 5:50they're trying to do XYZ blah, blah blah, blah, blah, blah
- 5:53blah, blah, blah, right. So some common signs of walking
- 5:57paranoia, consistent suspicion. Boy, they don't they think, yo,
- 6:04what's going on over there? You know, they doing something
- 6:07to my food over there because they've been, they've been,
- 6:10they've had it back there for a long time.
- 6:12I don't think I really want this food now that they may done
- 6:15something to it. Reading hidden messages,
- 6:19overthinking conversations, having a conversation with
- 6:22somebody and you're overthinking it like wait a minute what they
- 6:27say it don't make sense though is wait a minute it can't be
- 6:32right. The conversation that you're
- 6:35overthinking it is not that deep.
- 6:38Difficulty trusting feeling watched you looking over not I
- 6:46know somebody watching me like it's there's got to be somebody
- 6:49watching me. I don't understand, but I know
- 6:52somebody where they fall. You see the car following us?
- 6:55Been following us for the last two seconds.
- 6:58Probably because y'all going out the parking lot and they got to
- 7:01go out the same way. You going that probably what
- 7:04that mean? Y'all taking everything
- 7:08personally. They say something and you take
- 7:11it personally. Boy ain't gonna lie to you or
- 7:14girl ain't gonna lie to you. Your big head can eat.
- 7:18Hold on, wait a minute while you got to talk about my head size,
- 7:22you know, or you know, something just simple as that.
- 7:26Believing innocent events are attacks somebody to say
- 7:30something that's innocent. Like hey, you know, man, you got
- 7:35some your shoes dirty and you got a little dirt, your shoes
- 7:40dirty and you may have a little piece of dirt on the side.
- 7:43You thinking they talking about your shoes dirty like man, I
- 7:45don't wear no dirty shoes. Look at me, I don't do that
- 7:50paranoia. Now statistics say millions
- 7:57experience paranoid, paranoid thinking at times.
- 8:01I know I have. I mean, I ain't never going to
- 8:03lie to you. I know I have.
- 8:04I'm going to get into a, a a true story when I get to the
- 8:11part I need to get to. But I'm a real true life
- 8:15paranoid experience, right? Stress increases suspicious
- 8:21thinking. You know when people sleep in
- 8:23and when they stress and they they think and everything is
- 8:27everybody coming out to get them Not true.
- 8:34Sleep deprivation makes paranoia worse. 100% drug use can trigger
- 8:40paranoia. Now, this is the true story that
- 8:44I, this is a true story that I, when I was like 18, like I was
- 8:54in 1993, I think. So I had this thing, I want to
- 8:58try some marijuana, right? And I tried it and it made me so
- 9:05paranoid that I couldn't even drive.
- 9:07I couldn't even bring myself to push the gas pedal on the thing.
- 9:11I was just so nervous and so fearful of what was going to
- 9:14happen. I was paranoid and gets home and
- 9:18I'm thinking like back in the day, it's just used to be a show
- 9:21named Quantum Leap. And everybody that's older, like
- 9:24my age, 50 and ages like that know what I'm talking about.
- 9:28What this guy used to have, like I guess a guardian Angel with
- 9:30him and he would be talking to this guy and nobody can see him
- 9:36with him. So I was thinking like I'm
- 9:38talking to my brother outside him and his son.
- 9:41I'm thinking, what if they ain't really out here and I'm just
- 9:45standing here talking and everybody looking out the window
- 9:48wondering what is he doing outside?
- 9:52Is he he out there tripping? So drug use can trigger paranoia
- 9:57because he did it with me for sure.
- 9:59Now social isolation increases paranoia.
- 10:03But if people don't know who don't know what social isolation
- 10:07is social. Social isolation is a state of
- 10:10complete or near lack of contact between an individual or
- 10:14society. Basically, they are a loner, and
- 10:19when you're a loner, you're out of touch with reality.
- 10:22So you can think things that are really not there.
- 10:27And that's what that social isolation piece.
- 10:31That's why it's good for, to have kids around other kids so
- 10:35they can understand how to socialize.
- 10:39Trauma often creates hyper village, village diligence.
- 10:46Diligence. Yeah, I can get it out of
- 10:49villages. Is the condition of the nervous
- 10:51system where the sensory information is inaccurately and
- 10:55rapidly filtered in an enhanced state of sensory sensitivity.
- 11:03Meaning that you got these lies flooding you, your mind so fast.
- 11:07They flooding it so fast. Boom, boom, boom, boom.
- 11:10And you can't keep up with them because they, because all of
- 11:14them seem real and it's just all of them probably fake.
- 11:19You know what I'm saying? It's just, it's just what it is.
- 11:21So have you ever, have you ever accused someone?
- 11:27Everybody has accused someone and we were completely wrong.
- 11:31Yes, everybody has done that and been completely wrong.
- 11:35I know I have millions of times, right?
- 11:39And I apologize and got that right.
- 11:41If I didn't, whoever watching this show, if I accuse you of
- 11:45something and apologize, I'm sorry, right?
- 11:51The psychologic, the psychologic.
- 11:53Psychologic do. I cannot get this word out.
- 11:56The psychology behind the paranoia.
- 12:01Fear rewires the brain. So fear takes your brain and
- 12:06changes it and it makes you feel like everybody out to get you or
- 12:13something's going to happen. It's not going to happen, right?
- 12:16Trauma changes expectations. Past betrayal creates future
- 12:20suspicion. Example, someone stole from you
- 12:24one time when you was, I don't know, five years old.
- 12:28They stole your snag out your cubby in kindergarten.
- 12:32Now everybody, you 50 and everybody still look guilty.
- 12:36Everybody, everybody look guilty and you just like what?
- 12:42These are some things that can create hyper hyper villages,
- 12:45right? Village.
- 12:47I think it was there village, village, village.
- 12:50I think I'm saying that right Y'all PTSD child.
- 12:54We're going to get into some of these and we get into some
- 12:56before the break, but we're going to get into the rest of
- 12:58the after the break right? So PTSD, childhood abuse, bully,
- 13:04church, hurt, broken trust, military experiences, violence,
- 13:08all of these can create hyper villages, right?
- 13:11So how? Here's how hyper Here's how each
- 13:20one can contribute child abuse. Right When a person who should
- 13:24provide safety is a source of fear.
- 13:28A child may learn to consistently monitor facial
- 13:32expressions, footsteps, toner voice, doors opening, and
- 13:37changes in mood. That survival habit can continue
- 13:41up into adulthood. What they're thinking is what's
- 13:46about to happen and coming in too fast.
- 13:49They open up the door too fast, they slammed it too fast and
- 13:52they walk it down the hallway too fast.
- 13:53They, they voice is too high or too loud or too aggressive, hey,
- 14:00you just kind of do something to them.
- 14:02They kind of like, OK, now what's about to happen?
- 14:04I got my guard up because I already know something stupid
- 14:08about to happen. So I might want to, I might want
- 14:11to put my guard up around them just in case because I already
- 14:16know something might happen. Bullying, repeated humiliation,
- 14:22threats, rejection, or physical attacks can teach someone to
- 14:27scan social environments. Excuse me, y'all for danger?
- 14:32A laugh across the room whispering criticism of someone
- 14:36approaching aggressively may trigger an immediate defense
- 14:42response. In other words, you run up on
- 14:44the wrong way, they may they may take off on you.
- 14:48You got to be careful because you know who what trauma people
- 14:52experienced when they were young?
- 14:54Bullying or, or childhood abuse And you look, we'll be right
- 14:59back after the break, y'all. Stats tell that each day, 22
- 15:02veterans commit suicide due to PTSD.
- 15:06These stats shook us and urged us to do our part.
- 15:10After hours and hours of thinking, beekeeping for
- 15:13veterans was born. Beekeeping for veterans combines
- 15:17beekeeping with mindfulness meditation.
- 15:20Why combine them? Here's why beekeeping causes
- 15:24positive rush of adrenaline. While beekeeping you have to be
- 15:28calm during it you are mindful of your movements.
- 15:31Each week, a veteran will receive a mindful meditation to
- 15:35build emotional and mental skill sets.
- 15:37Mindfulness is a set of three attentional skills that work
- 15:41together, concentration, sensory clarity and equanimity, mental
- 15:46calmness, composure, evenness of temper.
- 15:49Every time mindfulness is practiced, we build these
- 15:52skills. Beekeeping for veterans not only
- 15:55helps veterans overcome emotional trauma but also aids
- 15:58our environment as without bees there is no food.
- 16:02Come forward. The people who have supported
- 16:05your country now need your support.
- 16:13Military broadcast radio, the station that's giving veterans a

- 16:23program are those of the speakers and do not necessarily
- 16:28reflect the views or positions of any entities they represent.
- 16:33Welcome back to Man Talk 133 with me and Unite.
- 16:36Tonight we're talking about walking paranoid somebody always
- 16:42thinking somebody trying to get them or got a plot against them
- 16:47or whatever The thing is, is in their mind walking paranoia.
- 16:52Is it your mind flesh or spiritual warfare?
- 16:56So we've gotten into some things like before the break.
- 16:59So we talked a little bit about bullying.
- 17:03It may trigger response that hey may not want and they take
- 17:10'cause somebody to take off on you.
- 17:13So the next one is church hurt. Spiritual environments can
- 17:16become associated with danger. When someone someone experiences
- 17:21manipulation, humiliation, betrayal, abuse, excuse me,
- 17:26rejection or misuse of spiritual authority.
- 17:30These people become highly alert around leaders, religious
- 17:35environments, criticism, or situations that resemble what
- 17:39happened to them when leaders, leaders church hurt.
- 17:46I know people say, oh, church, church, excuse me, Church hurt
- 17:50is a real thing. People have been manipulated in
- 17:55church, humiliated in church, betrayed in church, abused in
- 18:01church, rejected in church, and people have misused their
- 18:05spiritual authority to have people do things that they were
- 18:07not supposed to do. It's a fact.
- 18:10Church hurt does exist. Sorry for the ones that don't
- 18:16think it do, but it does. Church hurt actually exists,
- 18:20right? But because when people get in
- 18:25these positions, they take advantage of people, which is
- 18:28absolutely wrong, right? But people, when they see this,
- 18:33it resembles them. It resembles of what they
- 18:36actually went through when they were going through this at
- 18:40another church or another organization or whatever, right.
- 18:44So not every painful church experience is traumatic enough
- 18:48to cause PTSD, but severe or or repeated experiences can have
- 18:53lasting effects. Like it could be some people
- 18:57that it could be some people that have been through so much
- 19:03church they didn't level church. They're like, you know what?
- 19:05I don't you really. I'm not going.
- 19:07I'm not going to deal with it. I just can't deal with.
- 19:10I tried it and evoking church have This is the third church
- 19:14that has manipulated me, betrayed me, lied to me, cheated
- 19:18me, all these other things. I'm done with it, right?
- 19:21Yeah. This is to my veterans and the
- 19:23people that are in the military right now.
- 19:25Military experiences combat incoming fire, explosions,
- 19:29casualties, dangerous missions, military sexual trauma or
- 19:34persistent threat to a service member to maintain extraordinary
- 19:39situational awareness right can train a service member to
- 19:44maintain extraordinary or extraordinary situational
- 19:50awareness most military people that's been in some type of
- 19:56combat or military in general they have a very high.
- 20:00The situation of awareness, they want to know behind what's going
- 20:04on. A lot of them can't even sit.
- 20:05They had to have their back to the wall, right?
- 20:09Excuse me, y'all? So it's because they went what
- 20:13they went through. Now that response is useful in
- 20:16dangerous environments. Although afterwards, the nervous
- 20:20system may continue to treat crowds, unexpected noises,
- 20:23unfamiliar vehicles, people approaching from behind and
- 20:26unsecured exits as potential threats.
- 20:30And think about it, they're sitting at A at A at a have to
- 20:38say their doors all the time or it can't be in big crowds.
- 20:42You see a car. I don't know, they get
- 20:44suspicious and, you know, go to go to maybe go to crutch it and
- 20:47go, go to grab and they they thing they ain't sure.
- 20:51So these are some things that is walking paranoia, right?
- 20:57Although some of this may be true, which it is that they've
- 21:00been in some type of combat or anything like that.
- 21:03That is exactly what they face, right.
- 21:05And something ain't even been in there.
- 21:07Just the situation awareness from the training that they went
- 21:10into the military right Violence, experiencing or
- 21:16witnessing assault, shootings, domestic violence and others
- 21:21serious violence. Violence can teach the brain
- 21:25that danger can erupt suddenly. Someone may bring.
- 21:31Listen y'all, I'm trying to read this thing.
- 21:34I got my notes right here and I'm trying to read it too fast.
- 21:38Let me slow down a little bit. Y'all got time?
- 21:41Just let me slow down a little bit, all right?
- 21:44Someone may begin watching people's hands identify exits,
- 21:49sitting with their back against the wall, reacting strongly to
- 21:54noises or constantly checking their surroundings.
- 21:58Going to the door windows, make sure ain't nobody no strange
- 22:03car. Therefore, I go to bed, eat up
- 22:05again just looking and making sure ain't nobody out there
- 22:12because it could be trying to get me because of some idea 30
- 22:15years ago. I don't think they forgot, you
- 22:18know what I'm saying? I really don't think they forgot
- 22:20what I did and maybe trying to get me, I don't know.
- 22:22But I'm going to keep my eye glued to this window, right?
- 22:27And think about this for a second.
- 22:30Now you have kids that grow up in this type of environment that
- 22:40don't know how to process like grown people.
- 22:44So what they do is they take this into school, this, this,
- 22:50this anger, unexpressed anger into school.
- 22:53They don't know how to express the anger in school.
- 22:55So now they get into fights and they get in all these different
- 23:00things because they grew up in these environments and think
- 23:04about a grown person. This is what I said.
- 23:06A grown person that witness assaults, shootings, domestic
- 23:10violence and other series violence can teach the brain
- 23:15that danger can erupt suddenly. Now just imagine the kid, if you
- 23:21got a teacher, just being loud and aggressive, right?
- 23:25You're going to get out of my classroom.
- 23:27They're watching hands, you know, they react strongly to you
- 23:31know, hey, you're doing too much moving with your hand.
- 23:36Like I need you to chill out with that.
- 23:39Now just imagine grown folk and you got a little child.
- 23:44Little kids go through this every single day and they don't
- 23:48have the resources to therapy or counseling or anything like that
- 23:52because of where they are in the in the area that they stay and
- 23:55their parents just may not be able to afford it.
- 23:57So, so when kids are acting like that, just got to be mindful
- 24:01that it it you got to look at where they come from and maybe
- 24:06without a dad or a mom or whatever, maybe staying with
- 24:09grandma, maybe in a bad neighborhood, maybe in gang
- 24:12infested neighborhood or maybe in an abusive household.
- 24:16So these are things you got to check because they are walking
- 24:20in paranoia. They are paranoid of what making
- 24:23happen right now. The common denominator.
- 24:29Your brain learn from danger. OK, a useful way to understand
- 24:34this process is traumatic experience.
- 24:37Threat detected, survival response.
- 24:40Activated. Brain remembers the danger.
- 24:44Similar situations trigger the alarm.
- 24:47Repeated active activation reinforces hyperbilitence,
- 24:51right? So let me read that again.
- 24:55Traumatic experience, threat detected, survival response
- 25:00activated. They're going to do what they
- 25:02got to do, whether they got to shoot their way out of fight
- 25:04their way out. The brain remembers the danger
- 25:08of what happened when it was younger.
- 25:11Similar situations trigger that alone.
- 25:15Repeated activation reinforces hyperbillages.
- 25:18Right now the brains threat detection systems can be more
- 25:25reactive while the body activates the sympathetic fight
- 25:31or flight response more readily. Stress hormone, heart rate,
- 25:36muscle tension, attention and sensory awareness can all
- 25:39increase, they said. Like for example, they heard
- 25:41some gunshots, first thing they do, they fight a flight, they
- 25:46get the heart rate go up, the muscle tense up.
- 25:51Think about that all these things increase isn't walking in
- 25:56paranoia. They ain't somebody that I maybe
- 25:59know that I know maybe getting shot because last time I heard
- 26:04that one of my friends got shot and killed right.
- 26:08So you never know what that you know what the what the thought
- 26:11process is. This is what hyper villages
- 26:13isn't simply thinking too much. It can involve the entire body.
- 26:19Someone might experience consulates, scanning rooms,
- 26:22sitting there, exits stalling easy like you walk up, hey jump,
- 26:25oh boy, you need to stop doing that.
- 26:27That's you got me with that one stop.
- 26:30Difficulty sleeping. They can't sleep at night
- 26:32because they got to keep checking in windows.
- 26:35Irritability probably goes with lack of sleep, inability to
- 26:39relax because they got to keep checking in windows.
- 26:42Mistrust, don't trust nobody. The last 10 people they tried to
- 26:46trust got over on them. Racing thoughts.
- 26:49They are just thinking crazy stuff all the time.
- 26:52You know? You know what is them about to
- 26:54come out and shoot this house up like they did the other one.
- 26:57You know what I'm saying? Like it's different things like
- 26:59that man that could checking locks repeatedly.
- 27:03I got to go make sure you just take checked the lock 30 minutes
- 27:06ago somebody might came behind. Ain't nobody here with you.
- 27:11Are you going to keep checking the locks?
- 27:15Paranoia watching people's body language, feeling that something
- 27:19bad is coming or becoming exhausted from always being on
- 27:24Like dude, think about this. Your mind is activated all that
- 27:30you're thinking all the time. You you do nothing but think all
- 27:35the time. Think, think, think, think,
- 27:38think, think, think, think, think, think, think all the
- 27:41time, right in your mind, just processes all day long.
- 27:45You can't sleep, you know what I'm saying?
- 27:49You can't sleep. You don't trust nobody.
- 27:54You got these racing thoughts. You're walking through the house
- 27:56checking locks all the time, just checking locks all the
- 27:58time, all the time, all the time.
- 28:00That can wear a person out completely out right now before
- 28:06I go to break because I'm up against the break again.
- 28:10Hyperbility hyperbilligence is a symptom that not automatically
- 28:15is diagnosed with a PTSD. It's not automatic.
- 28:18It's not automatically assumed as PTSDPCSD involves a
- 28:22particular combination combination of symptoms
- 28:25following trauma, including intrusion symptoms, avoidance,
- 28:30changes in moods and thinking and changes in arousal activity
- 28:35and requires professional assessment.
- 28:37So it's a difference, right? Because when somebody that has
- 28:46PTSD, it's just like the guys have been to war.
- 28:48It's a difference in somebody being, I would say in a game and
- 28:55getting shot at all the time versus somebody being in war and
- 28:58shot at all the time. I would, I would say I've never
- 29:02been in a game and I never been shot at, thank the Lord, right,
- 29:07that I've never been. But I would imagine there are
- 29:09two, two totally different mindsets and thought processes,
- 29:13both of them trying to make it home, both of them getting shot
- 29:16at, you know, but I think it's different situations because the
- 29:21military guy, he's going to eventually, excuse me, he's
- 29:26going to eventually leave where he is and come home.
- 29:31The gang member got to stay there.
- 29:32That's his home. So he's there all the time.
- 29:35He can't leave, he's stuck there, right.
- 29:38So I would have mentioned, I would imagine that's the
- 29:42difference in between the two. Example, David spent years
- 29:46hiding from Saul. Imagine how difficult it is.
- 29:51It could become trusting people become after.
- 29:56Listen, I told y'all had a long day.
- 30:01Imagine how difficult trusting people become afterward.
- 30:05After you go through all that with people, imagine how
- 30:08difficult that could be. I'll be right back after the
- 30:11break. It's time for a vacation in

- 31:28Welcome back to Man Talk 133 where me and you night.
- 31:31Welcome to the show tonight, anybody just TuneIn.
- 31:34Welcome to the show. Thanks for tuning in.
- 31:38I really do appreciate tonight we're talking about walking
- 31:41heroin. Boya for the record said this in
- 31:44the beginning. But for the record, I'm not a
- 31:46doctor, I'm not licensed. This is for educational purposes
- 31:51only. If you having some issues, don't
- 31:54say man talk. 133 said nothing. Go get yourself checked out.
- 31:58I'm just giving you some symptoms and things about
- 32:02walking paranoia, how people being paranoid and all that
- 32:05stuff like that. That's all.
- 32:07That's all I'm doing, y'all. I'm just trying to educate the
- 32:09people, that's it. I'm not a doctor, I'm not a
- 32:15licensed therapist, None of that, none of that.
- 32:19I am a licensed life coach, certified licensed, certified
- 32:22life coach. I am that and business
- 32:24consultant. So anyway, can pass pain cause
- 32:31present paranoia? Absolutely it can.
- 32:33I just read that and it's, it most definitely can.
- 32:37It can cause it, you know what I mean?
- 32:40So let's get into another side of this thing, right?
- 32:45Spiritual warfare is real now. Everything is a mental illness.
- 32:51The Bible clearly teaches spiritual attacks.
- 32:57Ephesians 6. We wrestle against flesh, and we
- 33:00wrestle not against flesh and blood.
- 33:03But people don't know what that means.
- 33:04You wrestle against these spirits.
- 33:06You know what I'm saying? That's the dagger that was you
- 33:09wrestling against. For example, Jesus was tempted
- 33:12by the devil. He took him.
- 33:13I want a high place told me do all these other things, you
- 33:16know, jump off the thing and turn this this into bread and
- 33:23all this little stuff that he tried to get him to do.
- 33:26That's the spirit that was not a that was not a not a mental
- 33:33illness. It's a spiritual thing.
- 33:34What Job experienced, you know, everything he went through.
- 33:39That was the spirit that that he was the devil was going to and
- 33:44fro looking for somebody. God said, Hey, consider my
- 33:47servant Job. You don't take his life, don't
- 33:53kill him, but you can, you can do what you want to to him.
- 33:58Paul and Daniel. Daniel got through in the land,
- 34:00got through and threw into the lion's den.
- 34:03God was there with him. The enemy creates fear.
- 34:07He creates confusion, creates division, creates isolation and
- 34:14accusation. So the question is how can we
- 34:17tell if it is spiritual warfare instead of anxiety, How can we?
- 34:24How can we, How can we, how can we tell?
- 34:26So to answer that question, it can be hard to tell because
- 34:28anxiety and what Christians describe as spiritual warfare
- 34:32can feel similar. Fear, race and thoughts, dread,
- 34:38confusion, sleepless and feeling threatened.
- 34:42Now I wouldn't use the intensity of feeling itself as proof of
- 34:49something spiritual is happening.
- 34:52I wouldn't. But it could be I'm talking
- 34:56about me personally, right? So let's take this out from a
- 35:00Christian perspective. A useful approach is to test
- 35:05rather than assume. So ask what evidence supports
- 35:10what I'm thinking. Is there a natural explanation?
- 35:15Am I exhausted, stressed, grieving, under under pressure,
- 35:19or reacting to a previous hurt? Does this thought lead me toward
- 35:24truth, wisdom, love, or self-control, or toward panic,
- 35:30accusation, isolation, and impulsive decisions?
- 35:35What does it lead you to is when you do that, it'll help you
- 35:38understand whether it's a spiritual attack or, you know,
- 35:42just a paranoia. So the Bible lists several
- 35:53principles to help Second Timothy 2 one through 7.
- 35:56Is that the power of love, the power of love in the sound mind.
- 36:002nd Corinthians 5, second grade 5 and 10 speaks about talking
- 36:05about taking thoughts captive. Every crazy thought you have,
- 36:09you take it captive, right? John one and four first, John
- 36:14one first. John four and one says test the
- 36:17Spirit by the Spirit to see whether it is of God.
- 36:22That way you can tell whether it's whether it's warfare or
- 36:25spiritual, whatever. Right in James 3 and 17
- 36:30describes godly wisdom as pure, peaceable, gentle, reasonable,
- 36:36and sincere, right? So in other words, Christians do
- 36:39not require you to believe every frightening thought about
- 36:43thoughts simply as simply because it feels spiritual,
- 36:48right? It could be.
- 36:50It could be paranoia, you know, because we're talking about
- 36:56walking paranoia. It could be paranoia.
- 36:59So let's go into this real quick.
- 37:00A practical distinction of your a practical distinction could be
- 37:07discernment investigates paranoia assumed.
- 37:13So if it's discernment, you're going to seek the Lord a little
- 37:16further to get a little bit more clarification on the paranoia is
- 37:19automatically assume somebody trying to get me anxiety asked
- 37:23what if fear say something is bad is going to happen is
- 37:27inevitable it's going to happen. Wisdom asks, what do I actually
- 37:31know? Babe says whatever happens, I
- 37:34will seek God and respond wisely.
- 37:39So what I'm saying is that a lot of people think it could be
- 37:46spiritual or I think it could be paranoia and it could be either,
- 37:50or it could be you thinking, I know this is spiritual, but it
- 37:59actually could be you paranoid about something because you
- 38:02operating in in fear, you know what I'm saying?
- 38:06And some people think that they could be operating in
- 38:11spiritually and it could be operating in fear and it could
- 38:15be spiritual. So you got to have discernment
- 38:17to be able to understand that it does not always have to be
- 38:23either or. A Christian can believe
- 38:25spiritual warfare is real, but also recognize anxiety as a
- 38:29genuine psychological experience.
- 38:31Prayer, scripture, sleep, healthy relationships,
- 38:34counseling and medical care when appropriate.
- 38:38Don't complete, don't compete with faith.
- 38:41So you can do all that and still not compete with what God got
- 38:46going on for you, right? So Satan is called the Accuser.
- 38:52Revelations 12 and notice accusation is one of Satan's
- 38:56greatest weapons. What did the examples do he use?
- 39:01They hate you. They make you feel like people
- 39:04hate you. They're plotting against you.
- 39:06They're laughing at you. Look at them.
- 39:07Look at them over there laughing at you.
- 39:09So just look at them. Nobody loves you.
- 39:12When everybody around you tell you they love you, you can't
- 39:16trust no more. You can't trust nobody.
- 39:19I mean, you can't even trust some people that have been with
- 39:22you for years and years and years and years and years.
- 39:25It sound familiar to y'all how how we can take and how we can
- 39:31take and let paranoia mess up friendships, ministries, excuse
- 39:38me, all that stuff like that. That sound familiar to y'all
- 39:41though? How accusations can destroy
- 39:45churches, businesses and friendships.
- 39:48Like for example, you know, some people can try to destroy a
- 39:51church by going to say that the pastor or that church over
- 39:54there, you know, they, they do a lot of whore mongering over
- 39:59there. I don't know if you want to go
- 40:00over there or not. They do a lot of lying.
- 40:01They do a lot of cheating over there.
- 40:03Last time I went over there, they beat me out of my $2.00.
- 40:07Yeah, I don't know, Like you got to, you got to do it.
- 40:10You got to have. You got to sometimes you got to
- 40:13go check it out, go investigate. I don't know where everybody
- 40:16else is good. I'm telling you don't go over
- 40:17there messing with you know you can take somebody got a business
- 40:22that's going real good. Somebody will get one plate of
- 40:25food right and this may not even be the food that made them feel
- 40:31bad. They go in as at this place
- 40:34here, look at the reviews. All you got to do is look at the
- 40:36reviews hope we can take you some crazy stuff you did the
- 40:39place got like a 4.9. You got two people that want to
- 40:44put some crazy stuff over the time of the food up there ain't
- 40:47no good while people do that. I don't I don't understand right
- 40:52It's it's beyond me. You think about this now
- 40:57somebody can have somebody, they can pay somebody $10,000 to do
- 41:01some catering for them, right? And then because they so grimy
- 41:06and slimy, they can put up a, a review and said everybody at the
- 41:12thing got sick and got sick from their food and either everybody
- 41:17ate and got food, they request A10 grand back.
- 41:19Pathetic. That is some pathetic, pathetic
- 41:22behavior. Friendships, you know what I'm
- 41:25saying? Accusations can destroy
- 41:27friendships. You accuse your friends of doing
- 41:29some stuff they ain't even doing.
- 41:30It's like, what are you talking about?
- 41:31I don't know how I don't even I don't even what I don't know
- 41:36what you're talking about. How how you going to accuse me
- 41:40of lying doing this and this and I weren't even in town there.
- 41:44I was out of the country. They could do destroy friendship
- 41:48accusations can do that so that this person then got upset
- 41:53because you then lied on them. You've been doing this person
- 41:56all your life because he's so paranoid.
- 41:59You're walking and paranoia walking, paranoia, you walking
- 42:04and you in it. You just think that even your
- 42:07friends have been around you for a while trying to get you right.
- 42:13The Bible has examples of healthy suspicion.
- 42:17Not everyone in the scriptures trusted everyone.
- 42:22Think about it. Jesus, He knew what was in man.
- 42:29He put it in them. Just think about this, Peter.
- 42:37Peter betrayed him 3 * 3. He knew he was going to do it.
- 42:45You know what I'm saying? He knew he knew he was going to
- 42:48do it. Nehemiah, he posted guards.
- 42:51Joseph, he trusted it. He tested his brothers.
- 42:55David avoided saw he ran from saw his whole young life, right?
- 43:01Avoiding Paul would have warned the churches, and they still
- 43:05ain't take heed to it. So when is cautious wisdom
- 43:13instead of paranoia? When is caution wisdom instead
- 43:16instead of paranoia? Caution becomes wisdom.
- 43:19Caution becomes wisdom instead of paranoia when it responds to
- 43:25evidence without allowing fear to write the story.
- 43:28I'm going to write. Say that again.
- 43:30Caution becomes wisdom instead of paranoia when it responds to
- 43:35evidence without allowing fear to write the story.
- 43:40You know what I'm saying? Wisdom says something doesn't
- 43:44seem right. I'm going to pay attention,
- 43:49gather facts and pray and respond appropriately.
- 43:54Paranoia say something doesn't seem right.
- 43:56So I already know what you're going to, what they're going to
- 43:59do and why they're doing it right.
- 44:01So wisdom is like, hey, let's just gather the facts first
- 44:04before we start accusing folk, you know, stuff you know, So
- 44:08don't get no defamation cases, people.
- 44:12Let's start gathering the facts, pray, pay attention to what they
- 44:18doing, then we're going to respond appropriately.
- 44:23But if you paranoid, yeah, something don't seem right,
- 44:25we're going to go ahead and automatically crucify you right
- 44:27now. Like you, I know you're doing
- 44:29something wrong, period, period. I know you are.
- 44:33That's what paranoia does right? Biblically cautioned is
- 44:39automatically fair. 5 Verse 22 and 3 says the prudent see
- 44:42danger and take refuge. Jesus also told his disciples to
- 44:47be wise as service and innocent as doves.
- 44:50Matthew 610 and 16. Biblical wisdom recognize danger
- 44:56without manufacturing danger. You know what I'm saying?
- 45:00Like, let me read that again. Biblical wisdom recognizes
- 45:06danger without manufacturing danger.
- 45:09I'll be right back after. The stats tell that each day, 22
- 45:12veterans commit suicide due to PTSD.
- 45:16These stats shook us and urged us to do our part.
- 45:20After hours and hours of thinking, beekeeping for
- 45:23veterans was born. Beekeeping for veterans combines
- 45:27beekeeping with mindfulness meditation.
- 45:30Why combine them? Here's why beekeeping causes
- 45:34positive rush of adrenaline. While beekeeping you have to be
- 45:38calm during it you are mindful of your movements.
- 45:42Each week, a veteran will receive a mindful meditation to
- 45:45build emotional and mental skill sets.
- 45:47Mindfulness is a set of three attentional skills that work
- 45:51together, concentration, sensory clarity and equanimity, mental
- 45:56calmness, composure, evenness of temper.
- 45:59Every time mindfulness is practiced, we build these
- 46:02skills. Beekeeping for veterans not only
- 46:05helps veterans overcome emotional trauma but also aids
- 46:09our environment as without bees there is no food.
- 46:12Come forward. The people who have supported
- 46:15your country now need your support.

- 47:40Welcome back to man talk 133, a man unite.
- 47:43Thank you for joining the show tonight.
- 47:46Hey, I really do appreciate it. Appreciate your opportunity,
- 47:52man. Tonight, man, we're talking
- 47:53about walking paranoia. Everybody that's listening to me
- 47:58or going to listen to me have experienced paranoia at some
- 48:03point in their life. The thing is, how do we, how do
- 48:09we get past that? You know, how do we, how do we,
- 48:12you know, make sure we don't take and go too far with these
- 48:16things? Something, you know, they got,
- 48:18they're taking, they, they, they, they go all the way with
- 48:21it. You know what I'm saying?
- 48:21They take it there, right? But anyway, let me finish out
- 48:26this show, y'all, because I know it's Friday and I know y'all got
- 48:33stuff to do. So I thank y'all for stopping
- 48:36for an hour to watch me. I appreciate it, y'all.
- 48:39Anyway, all right, so wisdom, wisdom notices patterns.
- 48:45Paranoia creates patterns. Paranoia creates patterns where
- 48:49people get up through the middle of the night, check locks, they
- 48:51get up, you know, they, they get up and looking out the window,
- 48:55they people, somebody walking behind me scare me.
- 48:58That's what this is. What paranoia does wisdom
- 49:01notice? Like, hey, they keep doing this
- 49:03every day. You know this every day or watch
- 49:06what they doing. Some ain't right.
- 49:09Someone keep watching and keep a check on it right?
- 49:11You know what I'm saying? And then after a while they
- 49:14said, hey, you know what, I know what they doing.
- 49:17They delivering something to the other house.
- 49:19They must be delivering papers or something.
- 49:20They ain't keep coming out here stalking me.
- 49:23That's what that what wisdom will tell you.
- 49:26Paranoia already created the pad and they ride by my house
- 49:29checking out see if I'm home or not.
- 49:31You know what I'm saying? So the sermon say something may
- 49:34be wrong, let me test it. Paranoia Say something is wrong
- 49:39and I and nothing you can tell me would change my mind.
- 49:44I know something wrong up in him.
- 49:48No it's not. It's just you tripping.
- 49:50You know what I'm saying? That's why that's my birthday.
- 49:54Thessalonians 5 and two and one says test everything, hold fast
- 50:00to what is good. Passion requires us to leave
- 50:04room for possibility, for the possibility that our first inter
- 50:10interpretation could be wrong. The first thought about somebody
- 50:14could be wrong. You see them and you'll be like,
- 50:19you know what, it's some up with them.
- 50:23I'm going to keep an eye on them, but some up with them I'm
- 50:26near serving some up with them I'm going to keep an eye on.
- 50:29And you're wrong. Ain't nothing wrong with them.
- 50:33It's something wrong with you. Let's be clear about it.
- 50:36Let's be clear about it. Ain't nothing wrong with
- 50:37everything wrong with you. So stop it.
- 50:40You know what I'm saying? So before acting on a suspicion,
- 50:44use 4 questions first. These are the four questions you
- 50:47need, you need to use right. What do I know?
- 50:51What am I assuming? What evidence would prove me
- 50:55wrong? What is the wisest response?
- 50:59If I'm if I'm right anything wrong?
- 51:03OK, what am I assuming? I'm assuming they following me.
- 51:09Whatever it is, you got to prove them wrong.
- 51:11Like have you seen them following you every day?
- 51:14What's the right now? What if they are, then what
- 51:17you're going to do? What's the right?
- 51:18What's the wisest response? What you going to do if they are
- 51:21falling? What's your response are going
- 51:23to be you going to jump out of the cars and pull out a pistol?
- 51:26Stop following me. What is your response going to
- 51:28be? With a little paranoids.
- 51:30There, you stop. You ain't paranoid.
- 51:33All right, All right. So what if I'm right?
- 51:42It also has had. You also have the humility to
- 51:46ask what if I'm wrong? You got to have that.
- 51:48So I'm wrong. Now what?
- 51:50What did I do? I'm wrong.
- 51:52They ain't following me, man. I apologize.
- 51:54I thought you was following me. So here comes the signs that
- 51:58you're walking in paranoid because we're getting close to
- 52:01closing this thing out. You constantly assume motives,
- 52:05you never verify facts, you isolate yourself, you replay
- 52:10conversations, you cannot accept the compliments, you expect
- 52:17betrayal, you become emotionally exhausted, all that stuff.
- 52:23We've all experienced it at some point in our lives.
- 52:26For real. You know, because you think
- 52:28somebody trying to get you what you do, you isolate yourself.
- 52:31I ain't going to let you get me. Not at all, not at all.
- 52:34Let me tap on this social media thing real quick.
- 52:38Has social media feel fueled paranoia?
- 52:44You know what I'm saying? How has it?
- 52:47I think it has. You know when people, people
- 52:49don't follow you. No likes, no comments, delayed
- 52:52text seen but no reply. Algorithms, comparisons, council
- 52:59culture, conspiracy theories, all these things is on social
- 53:03media that actually has caused people to be paranoid,
- 53:06especially compares conspiracy theories.
- 53:09Everybody got a conspiracy theory.
- 53:12Not everybody. Some people have computers,
- 53:14conspiracy theories and it's craziness.
- 53:17Wrong, right. How we've been.
- 53:22This is a this is a really good question.
- 53:24I was that I saw this when I was doing my research.
- 53:26This is a this is a really good question.
- 53:30How we become addicted to assuming the worst.
- 53:36Somebody go to the hospital, they assume they out of here.
- 53:41That's the first thing I got to find.
- 53:42I got to make sure they ain't going to get up out of here.
- 53:45You know what I'm saying? They I got to make sure that
- 53:50they ain't going to die. I mean it means they had the flu
- 53:53or something. Why we got to always assume the
- 53:55worst? Somebody in a car accident and
- 53:58they can't get no information right then they freak out.
- 54:02Paranoia has set in and made them feel like because we didn't
- 54:09got addicted to assuming the worst instead of seeking God to
- 54:14assume the best to get the best with response.
- 54:17That's what we should be doing, right?
- 54:20Before I get out of here, how do we defeat paranoia naturally?
- 54:27First, we got to get some sleep, y'all, And sleep deprivation
- 54:31deprivation is a real thing. We got to get some sleep.
- 54:35We got to exercise. I know we don't want to.
- 54:38I know y'all don't want to, because I do.
- 54:42Got to exercise, got to pray, got to have a community around
- 54:47you. You got to, if you have an
- 54:48issue, real severe issues like that, you got to get cancelled.
- 54:52You got a journal, write your stuff down.
- 54:54Make sure you make sure you keep a journal of the events that's
- 55:04going on so you know what's going on where you having
- 55:06progress or not. We have no progress.
- 55:10Go ahead and see your counseling.
- 55:11We haven't progressed and you write yourself down.
- 55:13You'll be you'll be good right truth checking check the truth,
- 55:18make sure it's the truth. Healthy communication Ask
- 55:21instead of assuming. Let me just go ahead and ask and
- 55:25see. Make sure that you know they you
- 55:29know they make sure that they what they saying is right and
- 55:35make sure I heard it right. I spiritual weapons.
- 55:40You got prayer, fasting, reading the Bible, worship, wise
- 55:45counsel, confession, repentance, forgiveness, renewing your mind.
- 55:49Romans 12 and verse 2. You should use this.
- 55:55What you should do according to 2nd 2nd Corinthians 10, take
- 56:01every thought captive. Every thought captive.
- 56:05You got to, you got to, you got to do that.
- 56:08And you know, I've said this one time before, man, and I have
- 56:12been trying to put this let me see if I can find it again.
- 56:19Y'all sweat this? I was it's a scripture that
- 56:23talks about journaling, right? And I said one time that I was
- 56:28going to read it on the show. And every time I was I'm gonna
- 56:31read this thing on the show. Guess what?
- 56:33I can't never find this scripture until my every time
- 56:38I'm I'll be looking for it and I cannot find it.
- 56:43And so this time tonight, before I get off this show, I'm going
- 56:46to read this scripture about, about journaling.
- 56:51It's a, it's a real scripture in there about journaling, y'all.
- 56:54And, and I think this, I can't, you know what?
- 56:57I'm going to find the scripture for y'all because I keep trying
- 57:02to tell y'all. I keep telling y'all.
- 57:03This is it right here, Jeremiah 36 and verse 2.
- 57:08Take thee A roll of a book and write therein all the words that
- 57:14I have spoken unto thee against Israel and against Judah and
- 57:19against all the nations, from the day I spoke unto thee, from
- 57:23the days of Josiah, even to this day.
- 57:26That's journaling. Just like with us, we journal
- 57:29like, you know, people write stuff down, they write
- 57:32everything down. So listen, before I get out of
- 57:35here, y'all listen. I want to thank y'all for
- 57:40joining the show for sure. I really appreciate y'all tuning
