- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with on our radio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's almost Famous podcast. We are back with Ashley. Ashley
- 0:09Speaker 2: is back here talking with us today about the latest
- 0:13Speaker 2: episode of GEN season of The Bachelorette. It was a
- 0:15Speaker 2: great episode. A lot happen.
- 0:16Speaker 3: It was a great episode. It was the fastest episode ever.
- 0:19Speaker 3: It was blue, wasn't it? Not? Is because like it
- 0:23Speaker 3: was so substantial, because all the conversations where there's.
- 0:28Speaker 2: No fluff, there's no fluff. It might have flown too
- 0:30Speaker 2: because there's a lot of freaking commercials.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Oh there's always there's always forty minutes of commercials for
- 0:36Speaker 3: a two hour episode.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a lot of commercials. Okay. Uh. It is
- 0:41Speaker 2: the Fantasy Sweet Week for GEN season of The Bachelorette. Obviously,
- 0:45Speaker 2: last week I was in San Francisco with a lot
- 0:49Speaker 2: of Bachelor Nation alum. Ashley, you were here breaking down
- 0:54Speaker 2: the latest episode of GEN season with Rachel. I think
- 1:00Speaker 2: after listening to that episode, a lot of the takes,
- 1:02Speaker 2: a lot of the assumptions, a lot of things you
- 1:03Speaker 2: were feeling became accurate during this episode, or at least
- 1:07Speaker 2: were proven true. But let's start with Devon's date Devon's
- 1:11Speaker 2: date is the first date of this episode. Devon has
- 1:15Speaker 2: been a what do you want to say? I mean,
- 1:18Speaker 2: I think we used the word polarizing a lot during
- 1:22Speaker 2: this podcast. I don't know if anybody has represented polarizing
- 1:26Speaker 2: as well as Devon, mostly because it felt like so
- 1:30Speaker 2: much of the season was somebody having an issue with Devon,
- 1:33Speaker 2: but we never really figured out if the issue is
- 1:37Speaker 2: actually with Devon or the issue was with the person
- 1:40Speaker 2: having an issue with Devon.
- 1:42Speaker 3: With Aaron, it was definitely Aaron's issue.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Well, Samm definitely Sam's issue. So can we say that
- 1:51Speaker 2: Devon actually, like is a decent dude, Like he's trying
- 1:55Speaker 2: his best here.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Yeah, except for don't forget he does like to eat
- 1:59Speaker 3: things that he allergic to. We still address that, you know,
- 2:03Speaker 3: but we were very weirded out by his bio. However,
- 2:07Speaker 3: I really like him.
- 2:08Speaker 2: I don't judge a man on weirdness, I judge a
- 2:11Speaker 2: man on character. I do think after this episode, Devin
- 2:15Speaker 2: has proven to be there for Jin because he really
- 2:17Speaker 2: cares about Jin. Now that's my thought, But Ashley walk
- 2:22Speaker 2: us through this date.
- 2:25Speaker 3: My biggest well the date was I don't even remember
- 2:28Speaker 3: what do they do? During the date, because all I'm
- 2:30Speaker 3: thinking of is that he was concerned the whole time
- 2:35Speaker 3: about their relationship being one sided and him being so
- 2:40Speaker 3: all in, so in love and then him being afraid
- 2:44Speaker 3: that she's not feeling the same way.
- 2:47Speaker 2: I think that's a fair like breakdown. Yeah, of the date,
- 2:52Speaker 2: but the date it was helicopter. Yeah, there's two waterfall dates,
- 2:58Speaker 2: very bachelor Bachelor esque date. Now, they did go to
- 3:03Speaker 2: a waterfall, beautiful views. Hawaii looks gorgeous, which none of
- 3:06Speaker 2: us are shocked by. It's a very beautiful place. They
- 3:10Speaker 2: have a really great evening or day together, and then
- 3:14Speaker 2: a really great evening up until the fact that I
- 3:16Speaker 2: think he is asking her pretty much, do you care
- 3:19Speaker 2: about me as much as I care about you? Because
- 3:23Speaker 2: I care about you a lot, Jen, and I want
- 3:25Speaker 2: you to know that. I want you to be like
- 3:27Speaker 2: very clear that I care about you, I love you.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Can you reciprocate that at all?
- 3:34Speaker 3: And her response, Ashley is her response is I want
- 3:39Speaker 3: to get there with Devin, but I'm not there yet,
- 3:42Speaker 3: which sounds a lot like the way that Marcus feels
- 3:45Speaker 3: towards Jem so kind of have like a love triang
- 3:48Speaker 3: go going on and then she's also like, Devin's giving
- 3:55Speaker 3: me like all the love, He's all in, He's everything
- 3:57Speaker 3: I've ever wanted, and I've never been in this situation before.
- 4:02Speaker 3: It's like, is it too good to be true? Am
- 4:03Speaker 3: I freaking myself out? My take on this is that
- 4:08Speaker 3: she likes Devens. She's if she's not there yet, she's
- 4:13Speaker 3: not going to be there with him, and she's just
- 4:17Speaker 3: it's just sad. It's a sad reality that the two
- 4:20Speaker 3: will never be on the same page. And I think
- 4:23Speaker 3: he is the one to go home this week, even
- 4:26Speaker 3: if he weren't too seemingly based on Lady the last
- 4:31Speaker 3: scene of this episode, probably sudded himself home first, or
- 4:35Speaker 3: at least he's the one that's bringing up the conversation about,
- 4:39Speaker 3: you know, the lack of them being on the same page.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Is it interesting to you at all? Because it was
- 4:48Speaker 2: to me that Yes, I think it's very clear where
- 4:51Speaker 2: her feelings.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Lie, which is with Marcus.
- 4:56Speaker 2: I'd say both Jonathan and Marcus. But it's very clear
- 5:00Speaker 2: she's not there with Devon. She wants to be there
- 5:02Speaker 2: with Devon because she does think that Devon is in
- 5:05Speaker 2: it the most for her. She knows the fantasy Suite,
- 5:08Speaker 2: and it does feel like the reaction the next morning
- 5:11Speaker 2: from the fantasy suite is very positive and I think,
- 5:18Speaker 2: and I could be reading into this too much, but
- 5:20Speaker 2: based on experience, if she's conflicted, which it feels like
- 5:23Speaker 2: she is, she knows where Devon lies, she's not there
- 5:26Speaker 2: herself that next morning after who knows what they did
- 5:30Speaker 2: in the fantasy suite, that's up to the two of them.
- 5:33Speaker 3: She said that weird thing. I was like, Jen, are
- 5:39Speaker 3: you not telling us something like have you been with
- 5:41Speaker 3: Pete Davidson? Are you just referring to the fact that
- 5:44Speaker 3: Pete Davidson gets a lot of hot women.
- 5:47Speaker 2: It's just weird. That was weird. But outside of that,
- 5:50Speaker 2: I would think that she would be a lot more
- 5:52Speaker 2: conflicted in her emotions the next morning, being like, wait,
- 5:56Speaker 2: that was awesome. That was great, like weted, we had
- 6:01Speaker 2: a really great evening and I'm still not there Like
- 6:04Speaker 2: that would be my thought would be how that would transpire,
- 6:07Speaker 2: because she would be up in her own head. But
- 6:10Speaker 2: instead it feels like she's very free in thought, being like, no,
- 6:13Speaker 2: that was great, We're still good, Like I still I
- 6:16Speaker 2: can't tell my love him, you know what?
- 6:18Speaker 3: Ben you're watching it like a viewer, and I watched
- 6:23Speaker 3: it like being on the show, because okay, not to
- 6:28Speaker 3: like put you down or anything.
- 6:30Speaker 2: No, you should put me down, tell me I'm wrong.
- 6:33Speaker 3: So I was thinking about being in an interview after
- 6:36Speaker 3: a moment like that, and you and I both have
- 6:40Speaker 3: been and sometimes you're just like, I know I should
- 6:44Speaker 3: feel this way, and they're asking me these questions, and
- 6:48Speaker 3: I feel like I just I'm just gonna like say,
- 6:53Speaker 3: I'm just gonna say it the way that they want
- 6:55Speaker 3: me to say it, and I'm gonna be really excited
- 6:57Speaker 3: and really positive about what when just what went down.
- 7:02Speaker 3: But in my gut, I just feel like there's something
- 7:06Speaker 3: a little bit off. Even though the producer behind the
- 7:10Speaker 3: camera I was like, oh my god, Ashley, can you
- 7:12Speaker 3: believe this is happening? Can you? Wasn't that so good?
- 7:16Speaker 3: And I'm like, yeah, it was amazing, it was so good.
- 7:19Speaker 3: And in the back of my head, I'm like, but
- 7:23Speaker 3: there's something off. And I felt like that's what she
- 7:26Speaker 3: was doing.
- 7:27Speaker 2: So you think she was communicating there's something off.
- 7:30Speaker 3: No, I don't think she was communicating it. I think
- 7:32Speaker 3: she was feeling it and not community.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Yeah, Okay, I.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Just felt like it was one of those interviews where
- 7:40Speaker 3: she's like, you know, I don't know, I'm supposed to
- 7:42Speaker 3: really feel it right now, and I'm not one hundred
- 7:44Speaker 3: percent of feeling it, but I'm like ninety percent feeling
- 7:48Speaker 3: I think, so I'm just gonna like go with it.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Well, Devin's the big storyline this episode. I think, as
- 7:54Speaker 2: you mentioned, there is a scene of him probably self
- 7:58Speaker 2: eliminating himself at the start of next episode. I think
- 8:04Speaker 2: Devon is absolutely let's just stick on Devon for this conversation. Obviously,
- 8:10Speaker 2: the interview with Jesse at the bar was brutal. Jess,
- 8:14Speaker 2: my wife, who doesn't watch the show, was standing getting
- 8:18Speaker 2: ready for like bedtime, and she was screaming out from
- 8:25Speaker 2: the bathroom, not watching it, even just hearing him going
- 8:29Speaker 2: send this poor kid home, Like what's what are we doing?
- 8:32Speaker 2: Like let him go? Like he doesn't want to be there.
- 8:35Speaker 2: And I'm like, I actually agree with you, Hun, like
- 8:37Speaker 2: he needs to go home. This isn't for him.
- 8:41Speaker 3: She's gonna she'll send him home.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Will she?
- 8:43Speaker 1: Though?
- 8:43Speaker 3: Ash?
- 8:44Speaker 2: Because my thought here is is he the only one
- 8:47Speaker 2: actually enter? I mean Jonathan is, I think, oh, I.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Know, yeah, Jonathan is. But I don't know that. He's like,
- 8:52Speaker 3: they're like proposed yet, Well was so crazy, and I
- 8:55Speaker 3: know we'll get to Marcus, but it's well, I'm thinking
- 8:57Speaker 3: about it. She was like, hopefully Marcus he gets there
- 9:00Speaker 3: and like falls in love with me, like in the
- 9:02Speaker 3: next day, so that he feels comfortable proposing in two days.
- 9:07Speaker 2: It's weird. It's like not, it's not how we expect.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I mean, that's why I think our theory of this
- 9:13Speaker 2: ends not how any seasons ever ended. Nobody proposes anybody
- 9:17Speaker 2: and like nobody ends up together is probably still the
- 9:20Speaker 2: path I'd fallen. But it does feel like Devin is
- 9:23Speaker 2: the one dude here who's like, no, I would propose
- 9:26Speaker 2: tomorrow to you, Like I am so into this, And
- 9:30Speaker 2: it does feel like with what I was saying with
- 9:33Speaker 2: Jess is this guy is so into it. He cares
- 9:36Speaker 2: about Jim so much. Yeah, that he needs to go
- 9:40Speaker 2: home because he's not the guy for her, Like he's not.
- 9:44Speaker 2: He is definitely third in this race, and he's gonna
- 9:48Speaker 2: stay third no matter how much he cares about her.
- 9:51Speaker 2: I think she does see it as and you make
- 9:53Speaker 2: sense of it. When she's talking about the interview, she
- 9:55Speaker 2: sees it as this guy is awesome and I'm into
- 9:58Speaker 2: him enough to have him here now. But it's similar
- 10:01Speaker 2: to Caitlin and me where he's where She's like, but
- 10:04Speaker 2: you aren't the guy, and she told me that and
- 10:06Speaker 2: I was like, I'm not the guy. I'm going home,
- 10:10Speaker 2: and she's like that makes sense, and I'm like, I'm
- 10:12Speaker 2: out of here, see you later. That's kind of the
- 10:14Speaker 2: Devon stance, except I think Devon's feelings are a thousand
- 10:17Speaker 2: times more than mine.
- 10:18Speaker 3: So much more.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Yeah, and would you make it hard? It would make
- 10:21Speaker 2: it hard, do you.
- 10:22Speaker 3: What do you think about the fact that they didn't
- 10:24Speaker 3: use him as bachelor now?
- 10:27Speaker 2: I think Grant was just like a very clear choice.
- 10:29Speaker 2: I think if Grant doesn't exist on this show at
- 10:31Speaker 2: this time, I think Devon would be an interesting choice.
- 10:33Speaker 2: I still don't think you'd be it, Devin.
- 10:35Speaker 3: It was the actual, like besides Jen, who they did
- 10:38Speaker 3: a great job, you know, making sure that Jen was
- 10:41Speaker 3: the main character of this season, but like Devon was
- 10:44Speaker 3: the other main character.
- 10:46Speaker 2: I feel like definitely, I mean, at least the most
- 10:48Speaker 2: consistent main character. I think Sam m carried that weight
- 10:51Speaker 2: for a long time, but I think Devon outlasted him
- 10:54Speaker 2: and has definitely been the most recognizable face from the season.
- 10:59Speaker 2: I think he would have a chance. I don't know.
- 11:02Speaker 2: I don't know Devin Well. I think he's changed his
- 11:06Speaker 2: personality a lot from like Night one to now. That's
- 11:09Speaker 2: what made.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Him so interesting. I was telling Rachel last week, is
- 11:12Speaker 3: that like he had almost, yeah, a different not personality,
- 11:16Speaker 3: but like they showed different facets of his personality every episode. Sure,
- 11:22Speaker 3: and we liked him progressing progressively more.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, I don't know if I could say on
- 11:27Speaker 2: week one I was like, oh, I'm like Devon's I'm
- 11:30Speaker 2: a fan of Devon.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Yeah, but we ended up liking him, right.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I do think the thing that has made him the
- 11:35Speaker 2: most likable is the fact that he's in the gin
- 11:39Speaker 2: and he's proven that. Not that he needed to prove it,
- 11:42Speaker 2: but I just think he's proven it. He's very into
- 11:44Speaker 2: this girl and he really loves her, yeah, which, in
- 11:50Speaker 2: my opinion, actually makes his actions on Night one too
- 11:53Speaker 2: now make a lot more sense if we put it
- 11:55Speaker 2: through the lens of no, he was just really endured
- 11:57Speaker 2: the whole time. Then it's like, no, that all stuff
- 12:00Speaker 2: is fair, it's all fair, it's all good. He he
- 12:02Speaker 2: never was wrong. He wasn't trying to, you know, get
- 12:05Speaker 2: more camera time. What he was trying to do is
- 12:07Speaker 2: just get more time with this girl that he's so
- 12:09Speaker 2: infatuated with. Yeah, cares about. Maybe he's a better word
- 12:13Speaker 2: to say, but he's going home. I do think that.
- 12:17Speaker 2: And so it moses on to Jonathan.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Hopefully he's gonna be a big character in Paradise.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Yeah, when it comes back, Jonathan is up. Remember Ben,
- 12:28Speaker 2: we'll see.
- 12:29Speaker 3: What do you mean? They announced it, they're not going
- 12:31Speaker 3: to go back on it.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Rumors upon rumors upon rumors say it might never come back.
- 12:36Speaker 3: Wait, what than just making up a rumor? Now, okay, Jonathan, Jonathan,
- 12:42Speaker 3: it is funny.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Remember you said that about when I said it was
- 12:45Speaker 2: gonna get canceled. You're like, he's making this up, and
- 12:47Speaker 2: I'm like, no, it's gonna get canceled. And they got
- 12:49Speaker 2: canceled for one summer.
- 12:52Speaker 3: They took a break. Okay, they were on a break.
- 12:54Speaker 3: They were on a break. Jonathan is mummy man. And
- 13:09Speaker 3: she makes a joke about how like the guy that
- 13:11Speaker 3: was wrapped up Night one is here and we're just
- 13:14Speaker 3: gonna call it is in like second place, And that
- 13:16Speaker 3: is pretty shocking.
- 13:18Speaker 2: For the guy that wore the most cloth on night one.
- 13:22Speaker 2: That dude wears the shortest shorts on the rest of
- 13:25Speaker 2: the time.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Shows the most skin.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Yeah, his dingle's gonna hang out at some point. It
- 13:31Speaker 2: has to be.
- 13:31Speaker 3: He doesn't even notice this. Why are you the guy
- 13:33Speaker 3: noticing this?
- 13:34Speaker 2: Because he's standing there waiting for her when this date starts.
- 13:37Speaker 2: I'm like, dad, dude, like, he's gotta be careful.
- 13:40Speaker 3: I gotta watch. That's because Ben's watching out because he
- 13:45Speaker 3: knows what happened to him on a waterfall one.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Yeah, you just gotta be careful, like all of a
- 13:49Speaker 2: sudden your peekaboo, you know, and you gotta be careful.
- 13:52Speaker 2: So Jonathan wears short shorts and tight T shirts and
- 13:56Speaker 2: he looks good. He's a stud and he.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Yeah, he's so cute. Me and Ray she'll have swooned
- 14:00Speaker 3: over him a bit last week.
- 14:02Speaker 2: There's nothing about Jonathan that is not likable except for
- 14:06Speaker 2: one thing.
- 14:07Speaker 3: What he doesn't like the sweets, or that he's he'll
- 14:11Speaker 3: take a cheat day when he's on his one on one. Jonathan,
- 14:16Speaker 3: you just went down so many notches in my book
- 14:18Speaker 3: to be like, oh no, you're gonna make me eat donuts.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I mean that's one of the benefits. You know,
- 14:26Speaker 2: when you get married, you're like, let's just have some
- 14:29Speaker 2: The just calls it like ice cream for dinner nights.
- 14:31Speaker 2: She loves it, Like you're an adult. Now you're gonna
- 14:34Speaker 2: have ice cream for dinner. Nobody's gonna tell you not to.
- 14:37Speaker 2: It's great. And so he needs to get to that
- 14:40Speaker 2: point in life because nobody wants to be married to
- 14:42Speaker 2: somebody that's like, oh, I can have my cheat day
- 14:44Speaker 2: on Sunday. It's like no, let's just like we're married now,
- 14:47Speaker 2: like let's just have what we want when we want,
- 14:49Speaker 2: and like let the thing work.
- 14:51Speaker 3: That's such a depressing life, like not let yourself have
- 14:54Speaker 3: dessert every night?
- 14:56Speaker 2: Yeah, ice cream, you know, ice cream for dinner.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Shape and still have dessert every night.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Okay, you're fine, don't worry about it. So, but Jonathan
- 15:03Speaker 2: is a stud. He is a nice guy. He is
- 15:05Speaker 2: very likable outside of his weird, sweet, you know behavior.
- 15:11Speaker 2: I personally think that Jonathan would have probably been the
- 15:15Speaker 2: second choice for the Bachelor if Grant wasn't around. If
- 15:20Speaker 2: they didn't choose Grant, I still would.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Have preferred Jonathan just because I know him better.
- 15:26Speaker 2: I also think that Jonathan's getting the edit to be
- 15:29Speaker 2: the one at the end with jin if we didn't
- 15:32Speaker 2: both think that jenn ends up with nobody. He feels
- 15:36Speaker 2: like that kind of mysterious character. Still, like Marcus and
- 15:39Speaker 2: Devin definitely have the bigger storylines. In my opinion, it
- 15:43Speaker 2: feels like Jonathan's kind of like sneaking up through and
- 15:47Speaker 2: making it to this point.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Like Ben as somebody who thinks that Jonathan would be like,
- 15:53Speaker 3: I know, I do this all the time, and it's weird,
- 15:56Speaker 3: but I'm just gonna do it. Of the three of them,
- 15:59Speaker 3: Jonathan is the one that I would be most personally
- 16:02Speaker 3: interested in. However, you know, if I wasn't married and
- 16:05Speaker 3: all that. But when I watch the show, he's the
- 16:10Speaker 3: date that I'm least interested in seeing.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Why is that? Tell me more?
- 16:15Speaker 3: Because Devin is obviously such a character and is so
- 16:19Speaker 3: invested in her, and then Marcus she's so invested in
- 16:25Speaker 3: and it seems like both those situations have so much
- 16:29Speaker 3: tension that as a television viewer, they're more interesting to
- 16:33Speaker 3: watch than Jonathan, who they both like each other, but
- 16:38Speaker 3: it's just not as much of an extreme passion as
- 16:40Speaker 3: the other two situations.
- 16:42Speaker 2: But what do you say that matches what I was saying,
- 16:45Speaker 2: which is that he is sitting in a position right
- 16:48Speaker 2: now at the fantasy suits where you'd be like, no,
- 16:50Speaker 2: he's definitely one getting chosen.
- 16:52Speaker 3: He's definitely the one getting chosen to be hers. Yeah,
- 16:58Speaker 3: because there's more mute. I'm because it's more of a
- 17:01Speaker 3: mutual thing, even though perhaps no, just because passion on
- 17:06Speaker 3: the other.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Day kind of flying nthe the radar the show loves,
- 17:09Speaker 2: you know, an underdog, loves the guy that's not the
- 17:12Speaker 2: main character to kind of come up through the you know,
- 17:15Speaker 2: rise like the phoenix and come up through and get
- 17:18Speaker 2: the proposal at the end. I think Jonathan seems like
- 17:21Speaker 2: that guy.
- 17:23Speaker 3: No, what's making me feel this way is that, like, okay, so,
- 17:28Speaker 3: like you know how we've always said the entire season,
- 17:31Speaker 3: he's not gonna end up with anybody, But now that
- 17:33Speaker 3: picture is clarifying to me. What's gonna happen in my
- 17:37Speaker 3: head is that the beginning of the next episode, Devin
- 17:40Speaker 3: will be sent home. During their conversation, she'll be left
- 17:45Speaker 3: with Jonathan and Marcus. But at some point, and I
- 17:49Speaker 3: don't know whether I don't know how early it'll be
- 17:53Speaker 3: Marcus is going to be like, I can't get there,
- 17:55Speaker 3: I don't actually I don't love her, and I need
- 17:57Speaker 3: to love her by now. Well, actually the shooties, So
- 18:01Speaker 3: I'll continue with this theory.
- 18:02Speaker 2: So all the theories that are possible are so.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Then Jonathan will remain and she'll know that, like she's
- 18:14Speaker 3: not ready for a proposal with Jonathan, and then she
- 18:17Speaker 3: stops him, because we do see her stop whoever gets
- 18:21Speaker 3: to the altar, and she'll say, I don't want you
- 18:26Speaker 3: to propose, or that's probably the least that's probably the
- 18:32Speaker 3: most likely scenario.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Okay, it's not, it's not at all.
- 18:36Speaker 3: No, Okay, so well, well then my other theory. The
- 18:39Speaker 3: other theory is that Marcus actually sticks around. He may
- 18:43Speaker 3: get there, and then he gets out on one day
- 18:47Speaker 3: and she says, no, I know you're not ready for this.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Let's just date.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Devin is the only person who's tall enough to fit
- 18:56Speaker 2: that shot that they show us.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Oh my god, Ben, what you are doing some great
- 19:00Speaker 3: detective work.
- 19:01Speaker 2: It's the only person, right, the only person then, if
- 19:05Speaker 2: you watch the show, the only person whose shoulder she
- 19:09Speaker 2: comes up to is Devin's. And that scene she's standing
- 19:14Speaker 2: at the shoulder height of whoever's standing in front of her.
- 19:17Speaker 3: You don't think she sends him home this week? You
- 19:19Speaker 3: just said that.
- 19:20Speaker 2: See, I don't. I think. I don't know what happens
- 19:22Speaker 2: with him. He has to go home, he has to
- 19:24Speaker 2: self eliminate. I don't know if he comes back. I
- 19:27Speaker 2: don't know if like Jonathan and Marcus in the finale,
- 19:30Speaker 2: bo say hey, we're done, and Devin comes back and
- 19:34Speaker 2: she's like, no, but you two are done still. But
- 19:38Speaker 2: that's it has to be Devon standing there. It has
- 19:41Speaker 2: to be to me.
- 19:42Speaker 3: I know where jebak ahead to the scenes to the
- 19:43Speaker 3: next episode or the scenes from.
- 19:45Speaker 2: The That's fine because Mark, we've covered Mac.
- 19:48Speaker 3: We're kind of there. Okay. So it does say that
- 19:52Speaker 3: no bachelorette has done this ending, which I wonder if
- 19:58Speaker 3: it's not a French it's not never before a Bachelor history.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Maybe it's because she's just basically pulling the brad walmack
- 20:09Speaker 3: in and saying like, no, we just should all shouldn't
- 20:12Speaker 3: be together.
- 20:13Speaker 2: I think she's staying to all three. I think I
- 20:15Speaker 2: do think Marcus eliminates for a period of time. I
- 20:18Speaker 2: don't think it's forever. I do think he comes back.
- 20:20Speaker 2: It has I mean, I don't know who else that is,
- 20:22Speaker 2: unless it's just great camera work, which could be the
- 20:24Speaker 2: case too. The show has great camera people.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Yeah, and they're not beneath or above, but not above
- 20:33Speaker 3: shooting stuff just for promo teazers, not at all. They've
- 20:37Speaker 3: done that before.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Not all, but that would be. My theory is that
- 20:41Speaker 2: Devin still somehow comes back to stand on that altar
- 20:44Speaker 2: with her. I don't know how. I don't think he
- 20:46Speaker 2: stays around for the next week, but I do think
- 20:48Speaker 2: he comes back because he is in love with her,
- 20:51Speaker 2: and the show loves a good storyline where the person
- 20:54Speaker 2: is so in love with the lead that they have
- 20:57Speaker 2: to come back for one more chance. Right many times?
- 21:00Speaker 2: Why not? Now? Why not? In this situation, Ben.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Do you think that Jonathan will get to the point
- 21:16Speaker 3: of being capable of a true proposal.
- 21:20Speaker 2: No, For whatever reason, they're not connecting with jen. I
- 21:22Speaker 2: don't know why. She seems awesome. I don't know why.
- 21:26Speaker 2: It feels like her final three and maybe even her
- 21:31Speaker 2: final four. Definitely her final four, I would say at
- 21:35Speaker 2: this point, are so far off connecting with her to
- 21:38Speaker 2: a level being like no I could see this at
- 21:41Speaker 2: least existing outside of it.
- 21:46Speaker 3: Besides Devin.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Besides Devin, I don't know why.
- 21:50Speaker 3: Well, let's just get a little bit deeper into the
- 21:52Speaker 3: Marcus thing. So they do this whole tease, And do
- 21:55Speaker 3: you think that they kind of prept him at his
- 21:59Speaker 3: date to go into that dinner and you think the
- 22:03Speaker 3: producers made kind of told him you should act as
- 22:07Speaker 3: if you're about to leave, but then you're going to
- 22:09Speaker 3: twist it and then be like, no, you think that
- 22:12Speaker 3: he actually was that intimidating, like he was that scary
- 22:14Speaker 3: to her to sound like he was legitimately calling it
- 22:18Speaker 3: and then he twists it at the end and is like,
- 22:21Speaker 3: but I want to get there, So let me just
- 22:25Speaker 3: for anybody, Yeah, first.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Off, let me answer the question, do you ask? I
- 22:31Speaker 2: don't think the producers would ever say that in that
- 22:33Speaker 2: way because it would be too much of a tell
- 22:35Speaker 2: on what their interest is. I think what they probably
- 22:41Speaker 2: told Marcus was you have to be honest with her
- 22:43Speaker 2: about where you're at, and he said, okay, that makes
- 22:46Speaker 2: sense being honest. No, And I think the producers knew
- 22:50Speaker 2: that he was going to be honest to the point
- 22:52Speaker 2: where it almost hurt her. And then he'd be like,
- 22:54Speaker 2: but I'm not already go home yet. And because I
- 22:57Speaker 2: do think I can get there, I don't think they
- 22:59Speaker 2: would say, like, figure out a way to make this
- 23:02Speaker 2: story so good that like really wraps her heart up
- 23:05Speaker 2: and then choose her up and then we then she's fine,
- 23:08Speaker 2: she heals No, I just said, hey, Marcus, be yourself,
- 23:13Speaker 2: and he was. And I think he did it for
- 23:17Speaker 2: I think he did it well, not meaning to be
- 23:20Speaker 2: enjoyable for television, but he was.
- 23:23Speaker 3: It's because you went on and on and on and
- 23:26Speaker 3: it did sound good. And then all of a sudden,
- 23:29Speaker 3: to those of you who didn't watch the episode, when
- 23:30Speaker 3: I'm referring to is this all he's like, is like,
- 23:32Speaker 3: you know what Jen like, I'm just not there.
- 23:34Speaker 2: I'm not in love yet. I'm not in love yet.
- 23:36Speaker 3: I really want to be in love, but I'm not there.
- 23:37Speaker 3: Maybe I can get there by the end. But then
- 23:39Speaker 3: all of a sudden, he's like, maybe I can get
- 23:42Speaker 3: there by the end of the week. I want to
- 23:43Speaker 3: keep trying. And the fact that Jen, in reference to
- 23:47Speaker 3: her feelings towards Devin and Marcus in reference to his
- 23:52Speaker 3: feelings towards Jen, keep saying that they're trying to fall
- 23:56Speaker 3: in love just makes me feel weird. There should be
- 23:59Speaker 3: no trying and falling in love except for I'm also
- 24:03Speaker 3: totally stupid for saying that because Jared had said the
- 24:08Speaker 3: same sort of things.
- 24:10Speaker 2: So Jess and I had this stuff well sure, until
- 24:13Speaker 2: you guys really took it serious. But Jess and I
- 24:16Speaker 2: talked about it last night and I was like, when
- 24:18Speaker 2: did you know you're in love with me? She's like,
- 24:20Speaker 2: probably from our first conversation. And I was like, no,
- 24:23Speaker 2: that's stupid, right, Like She's like, no, I knew from
- 24:27Speaker 2: our first conversation that I didn't want to stop talking
- 24:29Speaker 2: to you, and then over time I realized that was love.
- 24:34Speaker 2: But there was never this moment of like trying to
- 24:37Speaker 2: fall in love with you. And I was like, that
- 24:39Speaker 2: makes sense because with hers not this different or the same.
- 24:43Speaker 2: It was my first date with her that we had
- 24:46Speaker 2: in person. I was like, this girl, I'm I don't
- 24:49Speaker 2: ever want to not see this person in my life now.
- 24:53Speaker 2: I didn't know that was love necessarily, but I was like,
- 24:56Speaker 2: I want to talk to her tomorrow. I want to
- 24:58Speaker 2: talk to her in the next hour. I want to
- 25:00Speaker 2: see her again, I want to hold her. All these
- 25:02Speaker 2: things right, and I think the idea. I think I'm
- 25:05Speaker 2: cool with all this, like I'm falling in love or
- 25:08Speaker 2: I'm almost in love and all those I'm fine with
- 25:11Speaker 2: all that language. What I'm not okay with is the
- 25:14Speaker 2: I'm going to try to fall in love. That feels
- 25:18Speaker 2: weird to me.
- 25:18Speaker 3: That's what feels weird because Jared and I is very similar.
- 25:23Speaker 3: For me. I think I may have been like, give
- 25:26Speaker 3: me more. I wanted more chances, but it wasn't a
- 25:30Speaker 3: try thing because the chances I needed more time, but
- 25:34Speaker 3: it wasn't time. It wasn't like with the effort of trying.
- 25:39Speaker 3: I don't know. There's something about that word try, because
- 25:42Speaker 3: I wanted more time to show him all the sides
- 25:45Speaker 3: of me, because I knew at a point that I
- 25:48Speaker 3: just wasn't comfortable. I was so nervous around him that
- 25:51Speaker 3: I needed more time to show myself.
- 25:53Speaker 2: Because you're just showing your crazy side.
- 25:55Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, exactly. So I just there is a difference here,
- 26:03Speaker 3: and it just feels weird that everybody's trying to.
- 26:06Speaker 2: Fall it does. It feels forced, which I don't think
- 26:10Speaker 2: in all the non education I have on love, love
- 26:15Speaker 2: has never been something to be forced Yeah, it's never
- 26:19Speaker 2: been something to be manipulated. It's never been an attempt
- 26:25Speaker 2: in a sense, it's like one of the magical, like sacred,
- 26:28Speaker 2: spiritual moments of life, where like it kind of happens
- 26:31Speaker 2: in moments where you least expect it and you least
- 26:33Speaker 2: maybe even desire it. But the idea that you've known
- 26:38Speaker 2: this girl for this song, that you've had the experiences
- 26:42Speaker 2: you've had with this girl, and now you're sitting at
- 26:45Speaker 2: a place being like, yeah, but we're coming to the end.
- 26:47Speaker 2: I know what the end means, means I need to
- 26:51Speaker 2: be in love to make this thing happen, and so
- 26:56Speaker 2: now I need to try to get there is wild
- 26:58Speaker 2: to me. You should just be eliminiting yourself. It's why
- 27:00Speaker 2: I've always said with this show, Ashley, I'm okay with
- 27:03Speaker 2: a season that ends with no proposal. Do I want it? No,
- 27:07Speaker 2: I want to see a happy ending, But I'm okay
- 27:09Speaker 2: with it because I know it's authentic and true.
- 27:12Speaker 3: Yeah. And are you referring to them just ending up
- 27:16Speaker 3: alone or them ending up like saying let's just date?
- 27:20Speaker 2: Yeah both your way? Yeah, either way, Like, let's just go,
- 27:24Speaker 2: let's move forward in the best way. Possible for everybody.
- 27:26Speaker 2: If it means we end up alone, great the Senate work.
- 27:29Speaker 2: That's sad for all the viewership, Like it's sad for
- 27:33Speaker 2: the lead. It just didn't work. Yeah, Like that's okay.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Doesn't mean anything's wrong with Jin. It just means that
- 27:38Speaker 2: her guy wasn't there. It doesn't mean anything's wrong with
- 27:41Speaker 2: the guys. It just means that they weren't into Gin.
- 27:44Speaker 2: What I want to see in this show is authenticity.
- 27:47Speaker 2: I want to cheer for the story, not the outcome,
- 27:52Speaker 2: the story wherever it leads us. If I would if
- 27:54Speaker 2: at the end I'm SAgs, I'm like, gosh, Gin's going
- 27:57Speaker 2: to be leaving this thing being like yeah, Like I mean,
- 28:00Speaker 2: I as the lead, I know if I would have
- 28:03Speaker 2: left this the show without any connections, I'd be like, yeah,
- 28:07Speaker 2: something's definitely wrong with me. Like this proves it right, Everybody,
- 28:11Speaker 2: Like something's wrong with me. And I don't know what
- 28:14Speaker 2: that is necessarily, but something's wrong with me.
- 28:16Speaker 3: No. No, what I would think is, yeah, I was
- 28:20Speaker 3: given thirty random people and none of them. Of course
- 28:24Speaker 3: my person wasn't in that. Statistically speaking, yeah, that person
- 28:28Speaker 3: wasn't there, and that makes.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Sense authentic if I was authentic with my season, and
- 28:34Speaker 2: I would have had foresight, right, Like, the authentic outcome
- 28:38Speaker 2: for the season I was on would have been nobody.
- 28:41Speaker 2: Like I would have walked away from that thing and
- 28:43Speaker 2: been like, it didn't work because my wife was not there.
- 28:48Speaker 2: The love of my life was not in that mansion
- 28:50Speaker 2: on night one, and that's okay, right, Like that works out,
- 28:53Speaker 2: that's fine. Like that would have been okay. It didn't
- 28:57Speaker 2: play out that way because of other factors and just
- 29:00Speaker 2: the fact that, like maybe you don't have foresight and
- 29:02Speaker 2: you think you know what you're doing and you don't.
- 29:03Speaker 2: All those things I play into it. But what I
- 29:06Speaker 2: want to see is authenticity, and I think this season
- 29:08Speaker 2: is going to show us that, and I think we
- 29:09Speaker 2: have to be supportive of that.
- 29:11Speaker 3: Oh totally. It's almost almost refreshing because, like you said,
- 29:17Speaker 3: it's authentic.
- 29:19Speaker 2: Yeah, it's authentic because these guys are saying, Hey, Jen,
- 29:21Speaker 2: no matter how much the producers try to get me there,
- 29:24Speaker 2: I'm not there.
- 29:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:26Speaker 2: And Devin's going, hey, no matter how much a producer
- 29:28Speaker 2: are telling me to not talk about this, I love
- 29:31Speaker 2: you so much. And she's gonna have to go yeah,
- 29:34Speaker 2: but I don't and that's gonna be hard for her,
- 29:37Speaker 2: but she's gonna do it. Why because they're authentic to
- 29:40Speaker 2: where they're at right now.
- 29:42Speaker 3: Yeah, it's almost like we're due for a season like this.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Yes, I think so.
- 29:45Speaker 3: And if it didn't happen like that, and she and
- 29:49Speaker 3: if it doesn't happen like that, because again Ben and
- 29:52Speaker 3: I aren't spoiled, we actually don't know what's happening, even
- 29:54Speaker 3: though we do speak on the podcast as if we know.
- 29:57Speaker 2: For us, I'm not so confident. I'm so.
- 30:01Speaker 3: If she were to end up with somebody, it would
- 30:04Speaker 3: be so forced that they would obviously end up breaking up.
- 30:08Speaker 3: They would have probably ended up broken up by the
- 30:10Speaker 3: time the you know, after the final Rose airs, and
- 30:15Speaker 3: that would be way more disappointing than the authenticity of
- 30:19Speaker 3: her leaving with no one.
- 30:20Speaker 2: At this point, I have it compare to a couple
- 30:24Speaker 2: Charity and Dotton.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, you spend time with them this week.
- 30:28Speaker 2: I was just with them. That couple loves each other
- 30:31Speaker 2: and they've been through some stuff like you can listen
- 30:34Speaker 2: to our show that we're gonna come out with With
- 30:36Speaker 2: two of them, it sounds like minor things like Dance
- 30:40Speaker 2: with the Stars and being in La and all that stuff.
- 30:43Speaker 2: Those are big deals to them as a couple. Right.
- 30:45Speaker 2: It meant moving, it meant change of jobs, it meant
- 30:47Speaker 2: lack of stability, It meant you know, one person being
- 30:50Speaker 2: gone all the time. And you know what they did
- 30:53Speaker 2: at the end of it, They went to couples counseling.
- 30:55Speaker 2: They talk about it. This isn't me sharing something they
- 30:57Speaker 2: don't talk about. And at the and of like, as
- 31:01Speaker 2: they go through that, they're like, I love you so much,
- 31:03Speaker 2: Like nothing's gonna come in the way of us as
- 31:06Speaker 2: a couple. That that is something we should celebrate. That
- 31:11Speaker 2: is a moment from the show that we're like, it worked. However,
- 31:14Speaker 2: we should also celebrate the moments of the show where
- 31:17Speaker 2: it's like, hey, it didn't work, that's okay, totally.
- 31:22Speaker 3: All right, Well guys, uh, we have men tell all
- 31:25Speaker 3: which you know Ben and I love not really.
- 31:28Speaker 2: It's just gonna be a sam m bash. He's gonna
- 31:31Speaker 2: look terrible. I already know it. Everybody's gonna be like, dude,
- 31:35Speaker 2: you're crazy. It's actually gonna be the sam Bash. Sam
- 31:38Speaker 2: In and sam m are gonna walk out of the
- 31:40Speaker 2: thing being like, yeah, nobody liked me.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Okay, but also, Ben, do this right now because I
- 31:49Speaker 3: want to watch your reaction. Go to sam EN's Instagram.
- 31:56Speaker 3: He has the funniest real out his dad. Okay, hold on, okay,
- 32:02Speaker 3: right here. It has sixty one million views, more views
- 32:09Speaker 3: by tens of millions than my highest viewed reel of
- 32:13Speaker 3: all time. It looks like this. Go to his reels
- 32:17Speaker 3: and then it's his point of view using the bathroom
- 32:19Speaker 3: right after your dad, His poor dad. It's so funny.
- 32:27Speaker 3: His dad was in on it. Come on, look at
- 32:29Speaker 3: this man's face.
- 32:31Speaker 2: No, it's great.
- 32:32Speaker 3: All right, guys, go to Sam and you out there now.
- 32:35Speaker 3: Go to Sam's Instagram and click this reel of it
- 32:40Speaker 3: says point of view using the bathroom right after your dad.
- 32:43Speaker 3: It's so funny. And he has a lot of reels
- 32:47Speaker 3: that are funny and they're very self aware and self deprecating.
- 32:52Speaker 2: And it makes me like, yeah, because I just see
- 32:56Speaker 2: him saying starboy and blessed and I see one and
- 33:00Speaker 2: it says like, for me, I think this dude's trying
- 33:05Speaker 2: really hard.
- 33:06Speaker 3: He might be trying really hard because he's like, you know,
- 33:10Speaker 3: a bachelor guy on Instagram. But there was some that
- 33:13Speaker 3: was like the Persian kid who gets like a glow
- 33:16Speaker 3: up and like they show, he shows old photos of himself.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Yeah, and he wants a d n fabudy comment about
- 33:22Speaker 2: how good looking he is. Now, that's not him being
- 33:24Speaker 2: self deprecating. That's him trying to build himself up, which
- 33:27Speaker 2: is cool too. Go do a buddy if you need it,
- 33:30Speaker 2: but like, let's not call it self deprecating.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:33Speaker 3: I mean, maybe you're right, Ben, but in his Instagram
- 33:36Speaker 3: they'd be like him a little bit more. That's all
- 33:39Speaker 3: I gotta say. That's all I'm saying. It certainly didn't
- 33:42Speaker 3: win Ben over. We'll see how he is on mentel All,
- 33:46Speaker 3: all right, so we yeah, we'll recap mentel All, even
- 33:50Speaker 3: though it's our least favorite to recap, and that is
- 33:53Speaker 3: almost see you next.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll see it then. Until then, By the way,
- 33:58Speaker 2: we have some great content coming from San franc to
- 34:01Speaker 2: be airing all week, some really incredible interviews, so make
- 34:05Speaker 2: sure you tune in and listen. We'll be here from
- 34:08Speaker 2: mentel All. We'll break it down, we'll watch it. We'll
- 34:10Speaker 2: make sure it's all, you know, tight and kept up
- 34:14Speaker 2: for all the listeners. It's not our favorite episode because
- 34:17Speaker 2: I do think it's just a bash, and I don't
- 34:18Speaker 2: think that's great and only it's fun. It's not fun
- 34:21Speaker 2: to watch, it's not fun to be a part of.
- 34:23Speaker 2: But it's gonna happen because the show is gonna do it.
