- 0:59Speaker 3: Friday on that Kevin snow and Now from mcconter's and
- 1:09Speaker 3: Sullivan Broadcast Studios. The man who is not what he
- 1:13Speaker 3: wants to be, but is way grateful that is not
- 1:17Speaker 3: who he used to be. Here all right, welcome everybody.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Kevin McCulla thrilled to have you with us. What an
- 1:28Speaker 3: incredible day.
- 1:31Speaker 2: More snow here in the New York area. If you're
- 1:34Speaker 2: if you're a Trice Stater, you know that you woke
- 1:36Speaker 2: up with a couple more inches on top of all
- 1:38Speaker 2: the other wedding cake powder we have on our on
- 1:41Speaker 2: our lawns. But last night I just have to say,
- 1:45Speaker 2: and I'm going to say this insistently, I do not
- 1:49Speaker 2: understand the Modern Democratic Party, full stop. I don't understand
- 1:56Speaker 2: anything about him. I don't understand why they clap for
- 2:02Speaker 2: the surgical genital mutilation of children. I don't know why
- 2:06Speaker 2: they clap against the victims of violent crime. I don't
- 2:12Speaker 2: know why they stood and applauded for themselves when when
- 2:15Speaker 2: they were accused of wanting to raise people's taxes. I
- 2:18Speaker 2: don't understand why they sit on their hands when when
- 2:22Speaker 2: we say that all of the hostages have been brought home.
- 2:25Speaker 2: I don't understand how they sit on their hands when
- 2:28Speaker 2: when a Coastguard swimmer rescues one hundred and sixty eight people,
- 2:34Speaker 2: young kids from a dangerous flood. I don't understand how
- 2:38Speaker 2: they just could not be moved at all in their
- 2:42Speaker 2: heart to have any understanding of what A mother who
- 2:47Speaker 2: had to watch her daughter be knife to death on
- 2:51Speaker 2: a Charlotte light rail closed circuit video that went viral everywhere,
- 2:56Speaker 2: and how they just can't in any way connect with people,
- 3:01Speaker 2: and then when they when because I think the president
- 3:07Speaker 2: and I just you know, look, I don't think Donald
- 3:10Speaker 2: Trump does everything right. He's he's he's made a lot
- 3:13Speaker 2: of mistakes in his life, and he's the first one
- 3:15Speaker 2: that will admit that. I don't think that. I think
- 3:19Speaker 2: that he's a lot more thoughtful about what he does
- 3:22Speaker 2: now than he has been at any point in his life.
- 3:25Speaker 2: I thought, what when he said, how can you not stand?
- 3:28Speaker 2: I thought when he said these people are crazy, I
- 3:31Speaker 2: think he was saying what the entire nation was feeling
- 3:36Speaker 2: last night. I don't think that there's any way that
- 3:39Speaker 2: you can dispute that because and here's here's kind of
- 3:44Speaker 2: how I know that. I'm sitting here watching my phone
- 3:48Speaker 2: blow up with people from all political parties because I
- 3:52Speaker 2: have friends of every stripe that are from all over
- 3:55Speaker 2: the country and have different political opinions. I'm watching people
- 4:00Speaker 2: say stuff on social media in real time. I'm understanding
- 4:05Speaker 2: that the entire country is tuned in in larger percentages
- 4:10Speaker 2: for this state of the Union than they have. I
- 4:13Speaker 2: think I heard the number three hundred percent more tune
- 4:16Speaker 2: in factor for last night's State of the Union than
- 4:19Speaker 2: in a lot of the recent State of the Unions.
- 4:22Speaker 2: And Trump does that anyway, because he's kind of one
- 4:25Speaker 2: of those people where people just want to hear what
- 4:27Speaker 2: he has to say. If they hate him, if they
- 4:29Speaker 2: love him, if they're indifferent to him, they are entertained
- 4:32Speaker 2: by him, so they find him fascinating. So there's kind
- 4:37Speaker 2: of that going for him. But friends, at the end
- 4:39Speaker 2: of the day, what we're talking about here is just
- 4:42Speaker 2: a remarkable throwdown of nothing but common sense from the President.
- 4:50Speaker 2: And I dare you to show me a piece of
- 4:53Speaker 2: policy that he brought up last night that was deeply partisaned.
- 4:57Speaker 2: The thing he probably got the most criticism for from
- 5:03Speaker 2: his opponents is an issue that the voters of his opponents,
- 5:08Speaker 2: the people that support the Democrats, agree with by eighty
- 5:13Speaker 2: four percent. He brings up last night what's called the
- 5:17Speaker 2: Save Act, which is the voter Integrity legislation. He wants
- 5:24Speaker 2: to make sure that only American citizens are voting in
- 5:27Speaker 2: American elections. By the way, we are the only modern
- 5:33Speaker 2: westernized country, developed country on planet Earth that doesn't have
- 5:38Speaker 2: that law. In effect, you cannot be a non citizen
- 5:42Speaker 2: of Germany and vote in German elections. You cannot be
- 5:45Speaker 2: a non citizen of Rwanda and vote in Rwanda in elections.
- 5:48Speaker 2: You cannot be a non citizen of Brazil and vote
- 5:50Speaker 2: in Brazilian elections. We're the only developed, modernized country on
- 5:57Speaker 2: the planet that does not require evidence of your citizenship
- 6:04Speaker 2: in order to be allowed to vote. And when you
- 6:07Speaker 2: look at things like the video coming out of New
- 6:10Speaker 2: York City with the entire streets being overtaken by Muslim
- 6:16Speaker 2: prayer gatherings, and no one's allowed to complain about it.
- 6:20Speaker 2: And I asked, I would ask myself this question, if
- 6:23Speaker 2: that entire street was covered in Christians who were praying
- 6:26Speaker 2: for the country, would they be allowed. The answer is
- 6:29Speaker 2: resolutely no. There is no way that. If you had
- 6:32Speaker 2: a Christian mayor of New York and he came in
- 6:35Speaker 2: and he said, I want to take over Times Square
- 6:36Speaker 2: and shut everything down just so that Christians can spend
- 6:39Speaker 2: three times a day in prayer, just praying for their
- 6:44Speaker 2: country and for their families, it would never it would
- 6:46Speaker 2: never fly. But because we don't think that we can
- 6:51Speaker 2: criticize Islam, which is an illegitimate, crazy religion made out
- 6:58Speaker 2: of jealousy by its profit it. Muhammad was jealous of
- 7:01Speaker 2: Jews and Christians, so he labeled them infidels, and he
- 7:05Speaker 2: created this whole system by which the outcome in Islam
- 7:10Speaker 2: is to punish everyone who disagrees with you and to
- 7:13Speaker 2: subject women to basically not allow people to have an
- 7:20Speaker 2: independent relationship with God, but one that is carefully orchestrated
- 7:26Speaker 2: and constructed by a perverse prophet who raped little girls.
- 7:31Speaker 2: And it's so sick. But back to the president. What
- 7:36Speaker 2: in the speech last night was controversial that he wants
- 7:40Speaker 2: citizens to be citizens and to be able to prove
- 7:43Speaker 2: that citizenship when they vote. Eighty four percent of Democrats
- 7:46Speaker 2: agree with it, eighty six percent of Independence agree with it,
- 7:49Speaker 2: eighty seven percent of Republicans agree with it. It's an
- 7:53Speaker 2: eighty five to fifteen issue. And then he says last night,
- 7:59Speaker 2: we're not going to we're not going to subject our
- 8:02Speaker 2: children to gender reassignment surgeries anymore. That's a ninety nine
- 8:07Speaker 2: to one issue. That is a ninety nine to one
- 8:09Speaker 2: issue on whether or not parents should have the right
- 8:14Speaker 2: to decide for their children before they were eighteen. What
- 8:18Speaker 2: should happen to them from a health perspective, that is
- 8:20Speaker 2: ninety nine to one. And the Democrats, who consist of
- 8:24Speaker 2: half of Congress, sat there on their hands and refused
- 8:28Speaker 2: to applaud common sense. They couldn't applaud their Olympic team,
- 8:35Speaker 2: they couldn't applaud victims of crime, they couldn't applaud national heroes,
- 8:40Speaker 2: They couldn't applaud anything. The two things they applauded that
- 8:44Speaker 2: they wanted to raise taxes and they got all wild
- 8:47Speaker 2: about that, and that Congress should not act on insider trading,
- 8:52Speaker 2: which I don't understand why they applauded that, because they
- 8:54Speaker 2: all made their money that way. That's literally how Nancy
- 8:57Speaker 2: Pelosi has become a near billionaire working on a congresswoman's
- 9:03Speaker 2: salary all these years. It's absolutely absurd what we saw
- 9:08Speaker 2: last night, and I'm gonna ask we got a big
- 9:10Speaker 2: show today. Chris Wilson is going to be with us
- 9:13Speaker 2: in the second hour. He is with a group called
- 9:15Speaker 2: Eyes Over, which is kind of an inside baseball group
- 9:20Speaker 2: that in terms of public policy, they kind of monitor
- 9:23Speaker 2: all social media reaction that's happening on any given number
- 9:27Speaker 2: of issues at any given time. And they could watch
- 9:29Speaker 2: last night as the speech was unfolding exactly how the
- 9:34Speaker 2: American people were responding to it and what it looked like,
- 9:38Speaker 2: and we're gonna we're gonna bring you some of their
- 9:40Speaker 2: findings before we're done. But before we do anything else,
- 9:42Speaker 2: we're going to go back to Minneapolis and talk to
- 9:44Speaker 2: Pastor Mark Dorn a vertical Life church and asked the
- 9:47Speaker 2: big question how do we live?
- 9:49Speaker 4: And stay with us.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Here he is from New York, that is Kevin McCullough.
- 10:15Speaker 2: All right, welcome back, Calvin mccallaugh. Glad to have you
- 10:18Speaker 2: with us here at the first part of the show.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Every day we always ask the big question, how do
- 10:22Speaker 2: we live? And yes, later in the show, I'm going
- 10:25Speaker 2: to get into the how do we live aspect of
- 10:29Speaker 2: what happened at the State of the Union last night.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Christians should definitely have an opinion about it. We're not
- 10:35Speaker 2: allowed to be passive, casual observers of what's going on
- 10:39Speaker 2: and pretend like we don't have an obligation to think
- 10:42Speaker 2: critically and be involved. We're not to be of the world,
- 10:45Speaker 2: but we are to be in the world, and so
- 10:47Speaker 2: we're going to get into what's going on there and
- 10:50Speaker 2: how we can think clearly about that. But this segment
- 10:53Speaker 2: each day kind of helps prep the groundwork for that
- 10:56Speaker 2: because we are asking from a biblical perspective, what should
- 11:00Speaker 2: would we be thinking about as we are trying to
- 11:02Speaker 2: live at our faith faithfully in the culture around us
- 11:06Speaker 2: in this day and age. And Pastor Mark dorn is
- 11:09Speaker 2: back with us from Vertical Life Church in Minneapolis. Minneapolis
- 11:13Speaker 2: was a point of discussion last night, Mark, in the
- 11:16Speaker 2: State of the Union. Briefly, your Congresswoman did not much
- 11:20Speaker 2: like what was being said, but this is this is
- 11:23Speaker 2: what we're going to talk about a little bit later.
- 11:25Speaker 2: I want to go back to where we started the
- 11:27Speaker 2: week with you. We were talking yesterday a little bit
- 11:30Speaker 2: about kind of this consumerism approach to Christianity, and I
- 11:36Speaker 2: wanted to ask you, when you think about even things like,
- 11:39Speaker 2: you know, all the issues that were discussed last night,
- 11:42Speaker 2: does a soft version of Christianity actually hurt the Gospel's
- 11:48Speaker 2: influence on the culture. Shouldn't we be having impact on
- 11:51Speaker 2: the culture as opposed to the culture having impact on us?
- 11:55Speaker 6: Yeah, one hundred percent what we deal with because we're
- 11:58Speaker 6: right down there. We have three teams through our ministry
- 12:01Speaker 6: in Chaos. We've been down there for a few weeks
- 12:05Speaker 6: you know, the last couple of weeks, it's lightened up
- 12:07Speaker 6: a little bit. But we're down there having really good
- 12:10Speaker 6: conversations with everybody. And the biggest problem is quote unquote
- 12:17Speaker 6: Christians that or you know what, you could call it
- 12:20Speaker 6: a false Christianity. Again, sometimes you get into with people
- 12:23Speaker 6: and you find out they don't have a real relationship
- 12:26Speaker 6: with God. They're just part of a very weak version
- 12:30Speaker 6: of Christianity, woke version of Christianity. But that's the biggest
- 12:33Speaker 6: problem is that there's so many different so called brands
- 12:39Speaker 6: of Christianity in our cities. And then you have these
- 12:42Speaker 6: very liberal cities like we have up in Minneapolis, and
- 12:45Speaker 6: Jesus Name, we're turning this thing a little bit by
- 12:48Speaker 6: little bit, but you have Christians that have no real
- 12:52Speaker 6: understanding of a biblical worldview. They don't really know the scriptures,
- 12:57Speaker 6: they know a few verses, or maybe they have a
- 13:00Speaker 6: liberal homosexual pastor that you know, they go to a
- 13:05Speaker 6: gay church or whatever.
- 13:06Speaker 2: And you know, we love gay people.
- 13:07Speaker 6: We go down to PrideFest and we preach the real
- 13:09Speaker 6: Gospel and we see people we've even seen pastors and
- 13:13Speaker 6: give their lives to the Lord. But the bottom line
- 13:16Speaker 6: is is yes, that soft version of Christianity has given
- 13:20Speaker 6: room for the for the devil to really infiltrate our city,
- 13:25Speaker 6: our cities, and make it okay to embrace liberalism, embrace wokeism,
- 13:30Speaker 6: embrace homosexuality, and uh so that's that's the number one
- 13:34Speaker 6: in my opinion problem is weak, weak or false Christianity.
- 13:38Speaker 2: I want to make a very important illustration to something
- 13:43Speaker 2: that was discussed last night and the president, love him
- 13:46Speaker 2: or hate him, if you're thinking about what evil will
- 13:51Speaker 2: do when good does not do what it's supposed to do.
- 13:54Speaker 2: His illustration of how when you ignore borders, when you
- 13:59Speaker 2: ignore who people are, where they come from, what their
- 14:02Speaker 2: intent is, and you just let them go everywhere that
- 14:05Speaker 2: they want to go, then you have bad things happen.
- 14:08Speaker 2: And then you get to a place where bad things
- 14:09Speaker 2: have happened, and you're saying, well, how did all of
- 14:11Speaker 2: this happen? And it happened because the good people didn't
- 14:15Speaker 2: They weren't fierce in their vigilance for the protection of
- 14:19Speaker 2: what was good, and so evil crept in and literally
- 14:23Speaker 2: did harm. It's the same with the Church. If we
- 14:26Speaker 2: are not I would say, rigidly defending the integrity of
- 14:32Speaker 2: scripture then this other whatever I feel like can be
- 14:38Speaker 2: true is true kind of mindset takes over the situation.
- 14:44Speaker 2: So let's get down to what Christianity as the church
- 14:48Speaker 2: should actually look like. And that's where we started out
- 14:51Speaker 2: the week in the Book of Acts, and I want
- 14:54Speaker 2: to go back there because that's where the church was
- 14:58Speaker 2: first formed. That's where we see how Jesus and the
- 15:01Speaker 2: disciples kind of intended for the church to to operate.
- 15:06Speaker 2: What do we learn about Christianity and how our churches
- 15:10Speaker 2: should should be operating should look like based on the
- 15:13Speaker 2: Book of Acts.
- 15:14Speaker 6: Well, yeah, number one, it's got to be a Bible
- 15:17Speaker 6: based church, right we we talk about that, we use
- 15:20Speaker 6: those phrases, but a real Bible based church where we
- 15:24Speaker 6: where we honor the infallible word of God.
- 15:28Speaker 2: We we honor it.
- 15:30Speaker 6: It's preached from the pulpits you have a really good
- 15:33Speaker 6: shepherd teaching team and so and so every so every
- 15:37Speaker 6: believer really needs to value and connect with a church
- 15:43Speaker 6: that really highly values the Word of God, the inerrant
- 15:48Speaker 6: scriptures that we have and uh in a in a
- 15:51Speaker 6: pastoral team that preaches that very boldly, particularly when it
- 15:56Speaker 6: comes to the political realm, because right now, that's where
- 16:00Speaker 6: a lot of pastors in our country are afraid to engage,
- 16:04Speaker 6: and now we're almost late in the game.
- 16:06Speaker 2: So Number one, you got to have a Bible based church.
- 16:08Speaker 6: Number two, you've got to have a gospel based ministry.
- 16:13Speaker 6: We talk about Mark eight thirty five. You know that
- 16:15Speaker 6: verse we talk about, you know where Jesus said, if
- 16:18Speaker 6: you want to save your life, you'll lose it. But
- 16:19Speaker 6: if you lose your life for my sake and the gospel,
- 16:23Speaker 6: you're going to find. So we make Jesus Lord and
- 16:26Speaker 6: then we make his passion his great commission. Number one,
- 16:30Speaker 6: So that church, it should be a church that has
- 16:33Speaker 6: practical outreach going out every week or at least multiple
- 16:38Speaker 6: times a month, where they're engaging people not just with
- 16:42Speaker 6: feeding programs, but with the gospel, bold gospel preaching, and
- 16:46Speaker 6: they're equipping the body that they're shepherding into how to
- 16:50Speaker 6: share their faith boldly and pray for people to be
- 16:53Speaker 6: healed and delivered.
- 16:54Speaker 2: And to see the power of God demonstrate that.
- 16:57Speaker 6: And then also, thirdly, a holy Spirit church, because once
- 17:02Speaker 6: you start doing this, you realize you need the Holy Spirit.
- 17:06Speaker 6: You need that dounamous power in Acts Chapter one, verse eight.
- 17:09Speaker 6: You need that power to demonstrate and to back up
- 17:13Speaker 6: what you're doing, and to have the courage and boldness
- 17:16Speaker 6: to do it on a regular basis.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Yeah, it seems like what you're talking about are two
- 17:22Speaker 2: very specific words that you've used with me before. Fervency,
- 17:26Speaker 2: which speaks to the intensity and the motivation and kind
- 17:29Speaker 2: of the heart behind it, but also effectiveness. My pastor
- 17:35Speaker 2: says often, Yeah, it's great if you preach the gospel
- 17:39Speaker 2: in how you live to everyone around you, that's wonderful.
- 17:41Speaker 2: It's wonderful to live that example and to be that example.
- 17:45Speaker 2: But eventually, Jesus says, we have to use our mouths.
- 17:49Speaker 2: We have to actually tell the good news.
- 17:51Speaker 6: Yes, yeah, yeah, one thousand percent. And that's that's what
- 17:55Speaker 6: we're seeing a revival of. And here's the good news, right,
- 17:59Speaker 6: you're seeing a revival of churches that are actually waking
- 18:03Speaker 6: up because you know.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Shepherds will be standing before Jesus.
- 18:06Speaker 6: I'm going to stand before Jesus and I'm going to
- 18:08Speaker 6: give an account for whether I let an entertainment driven
- 18:11Speaker 6: church or an equipping driven church. We're called to be
- 18:14Speaker 6: equippers of the frontline's believers, right that are that are
- 18:18Speaker 6: going to be anointed with the Holy Spirit and each
- 18:21Speaker 6: of their own individual giftings, callings, and platforms go out
- 18:25Speaker 6: and share the gospel.
- 18:26Speaker 2: But we need to be modeling that as a church.
- 18:29Speaker 6: But also we need to be people that are so
- 18:35Speaker 6: dialed in with the direction of the Father's heart uniquely
- 18:40Speaker 6: for our city. And the great news is, people are
- 18:44Speaker 6: more hungry than ever when we you know, we've seen
- 18:46Speaker 6: probably three dozen people protesters give their hearts to the
- 18:50Speaker 6: Lord when we go to PrideFest. I think over the
- 18:53Speaker 6: last several years we've seen over two hundred.
- 18:55Speaker 2: People give their lives to the Lord. Many healings.
- 18:59Speaker 6: We see a lot of dramatic healings because God wants
- 19:02Speaker 6: to show himself off in power where the devil's trying
- 19:05Speaker 6: to do his worse work.
- 19:07Speaker 2: You know.
- 19:08Speaker 6: You know, Jesus said the gates of hell will not
- 19:11Speaker 6: prevail against the Church. So the church has got to
- 19:13Speaker 6: be equipped. I'm not talking to the leaders. I'm talking
- 19:16Speaker 6: the actual ministers. The everyday believers have to be equipped
- 19:21Speaker 6: with the Word, the Holy Spirit and the skill sets
- 19:24Speaker 6: and the mindset to go out in the beas salt
- 19:27Speaker 6: and light.
- 19:28Speaker 2: And the good news is people are so hungry.
- 19:30Speaker 6: We meet people, you go down to PrideFest and you
- 19:34Speaker 6: meet people that will literally spill their guts to you
- 19:37Speaker 6: about why they're in this condition.
- 19:39Speaker 2: I've prayed with.
- 19:40Speaker 6: People that are just bawling because the root issue is
- 19:44Speaker 6: they were abused, they were sodom mind, they dealt with things,
- 19:49Speaker 6: and now God wants to unpeel that thing and get
- 19:52Speaker 6: them healed from the inside out.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Well with the crazy cool stuff happened, unaddressed hurt and
- 19:58Speaker 2: unaddressed pain is the is the single biggest multiplier when
- 20:02Speaker 2: it comes to more pain and more hurt. And it's
- 20:05Speaker 2: just one of those things where if the church is
- 20:07Speaker 2: really being the church, we're gonna love people and we're
- 20:10Speaker 2: going to tell them the biblical truth and we're going
- 20:13Speaker 2: to do it in love. So appreciate Mark everything that
- 20:16Speaker 2: we're discussing this week. Thank you again for another great discussion,
- 20:21Speaker 2: and we'll be back tomorrow. Awesome, Thanks so much. Ken,
- 20:23Speaker 2: got it. Kevin McCullough coming back. It is the day
- 20:25Speaker 2: after the State of the Union and there is much
- 20:28Speaker 2: to discuss.
- 20:28Speaker 7: Don't go away, let's stick around for more than Kevin next.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Here he is from New York That I'm Kevin, Kevin McCullough.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Well to back the time square. It's Kevin McCalla, that
- 21:15Speaker 2: Kevin show. You know that I am so so thankful
- 21:19Speaker 2: to have a great partnership with the people at Medjet.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Medjet was this little jewel that I've just stumbled across
- 21:27Speaker 2: a couple of years ago, and since then, I've helped
- 21:30Speaker 2: people find out how to protect themselves when they travel
- 21:33Speaker 2: and to be able to get all the way home
- 21:35Speaker 2: to a hospital that they want to be at, where
- 21:37Speaker 2: their doctor is at if they are in need. And
- 21:39Speaker 2: I was just thinking just yesterday, actually how important this
- 21:44Speaker 2: is in a day in which we see what's going
- 21:46Speaker 2: on in the country of Mexico and in the Porta
- 21:49Speaker 2: a artist situation. And I am so so glad to
- 21:53Speaker 2: have John Goebbels rejoining us, who is the CEO of Medjet.
- 21:56Speaker 2: John's good to see. I don't think you've been with
- 21:58Speaker 2: us in the new Year. So happy you're to you.
- 22:01Speaker 2: But there's when you see something break out, a cartel
- 22:05Speaker 2: member gets killed, and all of a sudden there is
- 22:08Speaker 2: massive panic in a region of the world, and there's
- 22:12Speaker 2: a lot of Americans stuck there, and you know, the
- 22:15Speaker 2: best that the State Department can do is saying, you know,
- 22:18Speaker 2: stay in place, don't go anywhere. This is a very
- 22:22Speaker 2: scary thing, and this is one of the reasons why
- 22:25Speaker 2: people should probably consider a Medjet membership.
- 22:28Speaker 8: No, yeah, actually it is.
- 22:30Speaker 2: And you're exactly right.
- 22:31Speaker 8: I mean, no one really saw any of this, you know,
- 22:34Speaker 8: coming on the horizon. I know, a couple of weeks
- 22:36Speaker 8: ago I saw some airspace space closures around El Paso
- 22:41Speaker 8: for US, and I kind of wondered that something might
- 22:43Speaker 8: be getting ready to start, but I had no idea
- 22:46Speaker 8: that it was this. But yeah, we we are able to,
- 22:49Speaker 8: you know, as you said, with the air medical portion
- 22:52Speaker 8: of that. You know that is the hospital hospital medical transport.
- 22:56Speaker 8: But we have a product called megat Horizon where we
- 22:59Speaker 8: partner with with Focus Point International, who has been a
- 23:02Speaker 8: strategy partner with us for many years, and we provide
- 23:06Speaker 8: a service that can help in situations like this. So
- 23:09Speaker 8: having something that can provide security and crisis response along
- 23:14Speaker 8: with medical transport, I think is a smart bet these days.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Well, and I want to dig a little bit deeper
- 23:19Speaker 2: into what all this looks like. But for people that
- 23:22Speaker 2: are just joining us for the first time, the primary
- 23:24Speaker 2: focus of Medjet is to assist people in medical emergencies
- 23:29Speaker 2: kind of detail what the base normal membership looks like
- 23:32Speaker 2: and talk about how it works.
- 23:33Speaker 8: Yeah, great question. So our basic membership is Medjet Assist
- 23:37Speaker 8: and what we are as we are a travel assistance company.
- 23:40Speaker 8: So if our members are traveling more than one hundred
- 23:43Speaker 8: and fifty miles from home, either domestically or internationally, find
- 23:46Speaker 8: themselves hospitalized as an inpatient and require continued in patient care,
- 23:52Speaker 8: the membership provides and pays for that medical transport back
- 23:56Speaker 8: to the member's home hospital with choice in their home countries.
- 24:00Speaker 8: You know, that could be you know, California to Boston,
- 24:02Speaker 8: or it could be Indonesia back to New York. Anywhere
- 24:05Speaker 8: from thirty thousand to two hundred and ninety thousand dollars
- 24:08Speaker 8: we see on transports, and the membership fee that the
- 24:11Speaker 8: member pays is the only thing they ever see for that.
- 24:13Speaker 8: So it literally can save your life and your life
- 24:16Speaker 8: savings as well.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I just want to point out that the individual
- 24:19Speaker 2: temporary membership is ninety nine dollars and when I took
- 24:22Speaker 2: my entire family to Italy more than a year ago,
- 24:26Speaker 2: to cover all five of us, it was just a
- 24:28Speaker 2: bit over five hundred dollars, and that was for the year,
- 24:31Speaker 2: talk about that this is an enduring coverage that covers
- 24:35Speaker 2: you for twelve months anywhere you go one hundred and
- 24:37Speaker 2: fifty miles or beyond from where you're at.
- 24:39Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean, we certainly have the short term programs
- 24:42Speaker 8: that you had mentioned before in eight fifteen, twenty one,
- 24:45Speaker 8: and thirty day and that's great for the person who's
- 24:48Speaker 8: going to travel one time. But really, if you're traveling
- 24:51Speaker 8: more than once, you can get an annual membership or
- 24:55Speaker 8: even save more in multi year you know, three and
- 24:58Speaker 8: five year memberships to really have have savings. But yeah,
- 25:02Speaker 8: it really you can travel as often as you want to.
- 25:04Speaker 5: We are not.
- 25:05Speaker 8: Required to know when you travel or where you travel to. Basically,
- 25:09Speaker 8: our standard membership gives you up to ninety consecutive days
- 25:13Speaker 8: outside of your home country if you're going to be
- 25:15Speaker 8: taking around the world cruise or something of that nature.
- 25:19Speaker 8: We do have expatriate level memberships of one eighty and
- 25:22Speaker 8: three sixty five, where we have some members that are
- 25:26Speaker 8: doing mission work that are outside their home country for
- 25:29Speaker 8: years at a time and they are able to rest
- 25:32Speaker 8: knowing that they have the protection of Medjet.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Well, I would like to specifically point out what you
- 25:37Speaker 2: just talked about because there's a lot of people that
- 25:39Speaker 2: listen to this show that are part of churches locally
- 25:42Speaker 2: that support full time missionaries that are out of country
- 25:45Speaker 2: sometimes for three to five years at a time, and
- 25:47Speaker 2: then they come home for a furlough. But this would
- 25:50Speaker 2: be a tremendous way to bless those families, to say, hey,
- 25:54Speaker 2: we're going to make sure you have this.
- 25:56Speaker 8: Yeah, it's something that people really don't think about. You know,
- 26:00Speaker 8: regardless of the language barrier, there can be care barriers.
- 26:03Speaker 8: We've got a member right now in Saint John's that
- 26:07Speaker 8: you think is great, you know, it's just an island nation,
- 26:09Speaker 8: but the care that they're receiving there is not very good.
- 26:13Speaker 8: And we're doing a transport today back to Nebraska for them.
- 26:17Speaker 8: So you know, it's just something that people don't think about.
- 26:20Speaker 8: But man, when it happens, that's not the time to
- 26:23Speaker 8: try to figure something out.
- 26:24Speaker 5: It's you need to prepare before.
- 26:26Speaker 2: So I just want to tell everybody that's listening, if
- 26:28Speaker 2: you go to medjet dot com, you're going to see
- 26:31Speaker 2: all the different programs, and I strongly encourage you to
- 26:34Speaker 2: do that, but I also want you to go over
- 26:36Speaker 2: to that kevinshow dot com because Medjet to celebrate twenty
- 26:41Speaker 2: twenty six is doing something kind of fun. They're giving
- 26:44Speaker 2: you twenty and twenty six dollars to not only try
- 26:47Speaker 2: out Medjet, but to have a little bit of spending money,
- 26:50Speaker 2: maybe take a little week in get away. And you're
- 26:52Speaker 2: going to be able to do it all if you
- 26:55Speaker 2: if you end up winning the drawing, but you've got
- 26:58Speaker 2: to enter at that kevinshow dot com promotions and you'll
- 27:01Speaker 2: see the giveaway there. Just put in your information and
- 27:04Speaker 2: then we're going to be drawing that name later this spring,
- 27:07Speaker 2: and I think it would be a great way to
- 27:10Speaker 2: enjoy but also to see and try out the benefits
- 27:14Speaker 2: of the Medjet membership. As it is, I'm going to
- 27:17Speaker 2: take a quick break. When we come back, I want
- 27:19Speaker 2: to talk more about Medjet Horizon because in light of
- 27:21Speaker 2: what's going on Mexico, I think it's really really super
- 27:24Speaker 2: important and I'm hopeful that people will take this seriously
- 27:27Speaker 2: because I don't I don't ever again want to travel
- 27:30Speaker 2: without the blanket of Medjet protection from my family. Travel
- 27:33Speaker 2: insurance does not provide you the same services that Medjet does,
- 27:37Speaker 2: and I'll have John explain kind of the difference in
- 27:39Speaker 2: where the gaps and coverage are. But if you have Medjet,
- 27:42Speaker 2: you can go in complete confidence that you've got what
- 27:45Speaker 2: you need as a result of that. But that's we'll
- 27:48Speaker 2: take a break. Come right back, Kevin mccallough. That Kevin Show.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Here he is from New York.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Kevin, Kevin McCullough, all right, very glad to have you
- 28:15Speaker 2: with us. It's that Kevin Show, that kevinshow dot com.
- 28:18Speaker 2: And you know that. During the week, I of course
- 28:21Speaker 2: talk about the big headlines of the day. We talk
- 28:23Speaker 2: about the news, we get into all the stuff that's
- 28:25Speaker 2: going on in the world, but I also talk about travel.
- 28:27Speaker 2: I also talk about wellness. I want to give you
- 28:29Speaker 2: tools in your life to help keep you safe and
- 28:32Speaker 2: to keep you healthy and to keep you active. And
- 28:36Speaker 2: one of the things that I came across a few
- 28:38Speaker 2: years ago was this little company called Medjet. I had
- 28:43Speaker 2: had a sister that had worked in the you know,
- 28:47Speaker 2: travel emergency medical arena. She had been a nurse on
- 28:52Speaker 2: a flight ambulance and she had done a lot of
- 28:54Speaker 2: work to help people get back to the US when
- 28:57Speaker 2: they are injured or definitely sick in another country. And
- 29:01Speaker 2: as I was thinking about taking my family on a
- 29:04Speaker 2: trip to Italy. I was like, well, what happens if
- 29:07Speaker 2: we get over there, and even in a developed country,
- 29:10Speaker 2: I don't have what I necessarily need or want. That's
- 29:13Speaker 2: where I discovered Medjet, And from the moment that I
- 29:16Speaker 2: met John and sharing the team, I was just so impressed.
- 29:20Speaker 2: And now I'm never going to fly my family anywhere
- 29:23Speaker 2: without them. I'm not going to travel without them. And
- 29:25Speaker 2: now I'm traveling so much more with the new show
- 29:27Speaker 2: and being on in seven hundred cities. We've got a
- 29:29Speaker 2: lot of things that we've got to do and be
- 29:31Speaker 2: in places, and I'm just I'm glad to travel with
- 29:34Speaker 2: the protection that Medjet offers us. We were just talking
- 29:36Speaker 2: with John Goebbels, who's the CEO, about the Medjet Assist program.
- 29:41Speaker 2: But John, you do offer this other thing called Medjet Horizon.
- 29:45Speaker 2: And as people have watched the news in recent weeks
- 29:49Speaker 2: of what's going on in Mexico, it's not just the
- 29:51Speaker 2: fact that the government killed a cartel member, but then
- 29:55Speaker 2: there was violence that spread up from that. Americans were
- 29:58Speaker 2: told to shelter in place. There's another layer of help
- 30:03Speaker 2: that Medjet offers, and it's not always evacuation, but there
- 30:07Speaker 2: is a kind of rationale to what you guys do,
- 30:09Speaker 2: and what I love more than anything is that you're
- 30:11Speaker 2: there twenty four hours a day. I call the number.
- 30:14Speaker 2: I'm going to get Medjet to give me the right
- 30:16Speaker 2: counsel on what I need to do, but walk us
- 30:18Speaker 2: through how Medjet Horizon works.
- 30:21Speaker 8: Sure, so, Meget Horizon is kind of an add on
- 30:24Speaker 8: membership to our Mejet Assists, which is the air medical program.
- 30:27Speaker 8: And what is basically what everybody wants to talk about
- 30:30Speaker 8: is the travel security and crisis response portion of that.
- 30:34Speaker 8: The Medjet Horizon membership portion is run by focus Point International,
- 30:38Speaker 8: who is a great strategic partner of ours. They have
- 30:40Speaker 8: got the guys in the call centers that have done
- 30:44Speaker 8: this and been around the world doing things that you
- 30:46Speaker 8: and I don't do and making those decisions so they
- 30:50Speaker 8: can help with that. It does do some other things
- 30:53Speaker 8: such some ground transport and antiller items, but really what
- 30:56Speaker 8: we want to talk about today, I think is the
- 30:57Speaker 8: travel security and crisis response that provides you access to
- 31:01Speaker 8: that team of professionals. As you said, twenty four hours
- 31:04Speaker 8: a day, seven days a week. You can call them
- 31:07Speaker 8: if you're feeling unsafe at any point and get some
- 31:12Speaker 8: real time help. That may result in an evacuation, security evacuation,
- 31:18Speaker 8: or it may not really depending on the scenario and
- 31:20Speaker 8: the circumstances of what is going on, but it is
- 31:24Speaker 8: a valuable tool to have in the world today.
- 31:27Speaker 2: Do you know if you've had any members that have
- 31:30Speaker 2: been impacted by the Mexico situation and if you've heard
- 31:33Speaker 2: from them.
- 31:35Speaker 8: Yeah, So we've got at least probably seven or eight
- 31:39Speaker 8: that have made contact directly with MEDJET. Initially we have
- 31:43Speaker 8: a group let's say group, but several more and I
- 31:46Speaker 8: won't have final numbers really until this is over there
- 31:50Speaker 8: contact and focus point directly, which is the proper plan
- 31:53Speaker 8: to do.
- 31:54Speaker 1: They all of.
- 31:55Speaker 8: Our members have their crisis response center number to that
- 31:59Speaker 8: and right now at this point, which I think we've
- 32:01Speaker 8: seen a lot, is the members are really kind of
- 32:04Speaker 8: sheltering in place. It has become very difficult recently to
- 32:08Speaker 8: be doing evacuations, certainly in armored vehicles, in anything that
- 32:14Speaker 8: looks other than a regular car or truck in Mexico because.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Those are targeted.
- 32:20Speaker 8: So there are roadblocks and any of these transport issues
- 32:25Speaker 8: that are going on, they're targets and that is a
- 32:28Speaker 8: very dangerous place to be, so right now, unless you're
- 32:31Speaker 8: kind of going gray or in a way of looking
- 32:34Speaker 8: like a national citizen in those type of vehicles that
- 32:37Speaker 8: are run down, you're a target. And right now they're
- 32:40Speaker 8: not pulling people from hotels and things of that nature.
- 32:43Speaker 8: It could escalate to that then another response from the
- 32:47Speaker 8: Metget Horizon product. But right now, the sabest thing to
- 32:50Speaker 8: do for our members is to shelter in place they
- 32:52Speaker 8: are able to contact and have daily updates from the
- 32:55Speaker 8: crisis teams that are monitoring them. There may be some
- 32:58Speaker 8: movements to different areas depending.
- 33:00Speaker 2: On where they're at, but.
- 33:01Speaker 8: They've really got some people that are able to hold
- 33:03Speaker 8: their hands through this and really provide that service. From
- 33:06Speaker 8: a security standpoint, everything was fine as you've seen, and
- 33:09Speaker 8: we were our members were very lucky at least medically
- 33:13Speaker 8: everything was fine. We actually had had no one from
- 33:18Speaker 8: our standpoint contact us for any type of medical transport.
- 33:21Speaker 8: So yeah, it was a great Olympics for the US
- 33:23Speaker 8: and as.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Well, Yeah some gold medal winning there. If people want
- 33:29Speaker 2: to add on the Medjet Horizon, how does that change
- 33:33Speaker 2: the membership equation for them?
- 33:35Speaker 8: Sure, I mean it's really just the pricing, as you said,
- 33:38Speaker 8: I mean, if we look at an individual Medjet Horizon
- 33:42Speaker 8: membership which has the medical transport as well, it's an
- 33:45Speaker 8: add on to that. It's only four seventy five for
- 33:48Speaker 8: an individual six fourteen for a family, and that is
- 33:50Speaker 8: compared to just the medical transport portion which is three
- 33:54Speaker 8: point fifteen and four to twenty five. So it's not
- 33:57Speaker 8: a huge add on in cost for a nice out
- 34:00Speaker 8: in Italy. Like you said, you can have that protection
- 34:03Speaker 8: and not have to worry about it and travel in
- 34:06Speaker 8: the comfort and security.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Of having meget I don't think I've ever asked you this, John,
- 34:10Speaker 2: but what drew you into this line of work? What
- 34:12Speaker 2: was it about this that you personally said, I want
- 34:15Speaker 2: to be about that.
- 34:17Speaker 8: Yeah, So, I mean personally, my entire life has been
- 34:19Speaker 8: in public safety, so you know, for our EMS and
- 34:23Speaker 8: law enforcement work for my entire career. Then I got
- 34:26Speaker 8: into air medical transport as a critical care nurse, which
- 34:29Speaker 8: kind of you know, had me in that position to
- 34:32Speaker 8: be able to see all sides so to speak, and
- 34:35Speaker 8: a lot of hats, Yeah, a lot of different and
- 34:37Speaker 8: that's what they would would call me. I had a
- 34:40Speaker 8: lot of hats in my office that they got me
- 34:41Speaker 8: for that, but really medget was something that gave me
- 34:44Speaker 8: the ability to use kind of all of my curriculum
- 34:48Speaker 8: that I had in my previous life in all aspects.
- 34:51Speaker 8: And it's a company what it says that they do,
- 34:54Speaker 8: and that for me is very important. And that's why
- 34:57Speaker 8: I've been here almost twenty years now. So you know,
- 35:00Speaker 8: we've done thousands and thousands of medical transports and I
- 35:03Speaker 8: would never and if I'm not here, I would never
- 35:05Speaker 8: travel without it.
- 35:06Speaker 2: There's friends, I just got to tell you, there's nothing
- 35:08Speaker 2: like it. Go and check it out medjet dot com.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Thank you for sponsoring our show, John, I know, hoping
- 35:15Speaker 2: a lot, helping a lot of people and friends. Again
- 35:18Speaker 2: in twenty twenty six, Medjet would like to give some
- 35:21Speaker 2: one twenty twenty six dollars And if you go to
- 35:23Speaker 2: that Kevinshow dot com you can register for the contest.
- 35:26Speaker 2: We're we draw the name a little later this spring,
- 35:28Speaker 2: but go to that Kevinshow dot com click promotions and
- 35:30Speaker 2: you can sign up right there. John, keep up the
- 35:32Speaker 2: good work. Thank you so much, Thank you, sir.
- 35:35Speaker 5: I appreciate you.
- 35:35Speaker 2: You got it. Kevin mccallaugh coming right back from times Square. Yeah,
- 35:39Speaker 2: we still got snow. Don't go Anywhere's.
- 35:45Speaker 9: Stick around for more of than Kevin next.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Up with a no drink minim It's that cabin show.
- 36:05Speaker 2: All right, Kevin, call it bad head you with us
- 36:07Speaker 2: welcome back. You can click through on that kevinshow dot
- 36:11Speaker 2: com to the Food for the Poor banner, which should
- 36:13Speaker 2: be up. You can text the word hunger to five
- 36:18Speaker 2: to one five five five. You can also give that way,
- 36:21Speaker 2: or you can call eight five five nine zero seven
- 36:24Speaker 2: four six seven three. And however you give your gift,
- 36:28Speaker 2: if you give it this hour, it will be matched
- 36:32Speaker 2: child for child. So whatever you give, you give one
- 36:35Speaker 2: hundred and fifty dollars. Normally, that would take care of
- 36:37Speaker 2: two children for the entire next year, all the food
- 36:40Speaker 2: and all the water that they need for the entire
- 36:42Speaker 2: next year, two meals a day, all the drinking water
- 36:46Speaker 2: that they can have, and it's clean, it's purified, it's
- 36:48Speaker 2: good for them. It's not nasty. One hundred and fifty
- 36:51Speaker 2: dollars two kids for the entire year. But right now
- 36:55Speaker 2: someone will match that if you call, and that's going
- 36:58Speaker 2: to double the impact. You're going to reach four kids
- 37:01Speaker 2: instead of two eight five five nine zero seven four
- 37:05Speaker 2: six seven three eight five five nine zero seven four
- 37:07Speaker 2: six seven three. And I would love to just like
- 37:12Speaker 2: do so well at this friends with you. I would
- 37:14Speaker 2: love to make such a difference with you that we
- 37:17Speaker 2: just we blow away all our all of our fellow
- 37:21Speaker 2: talk show hosts at Salem Media. I know my buddy
- 37:24Speaker 2: Mike Callagher, he really gets excited about this campaign. And
- 37:27Speaker 2: you know, he's always like talking smack to you, Hewitt
- 37:30Speaker 2: and some of the others about how many, how many
- 37:32Speaker 2: kids he feeds and so forth. I'd love, I'd love
- 37:35Speaker 2: to show him that real Christians really do care about
- 37:40Speaker 2: the impact. And that's the beautiful thing about food for
- 37:43Speaker 2: the Poor. It is a Christian ministry. And you're gonna
- 37:47Speaker 2: not only give food and clean drinking water to that child,
- 37:50Speaker 2: but that child will be introduced to Jesus at the
- 37:52Speaker 2: same time. So eight five five nine oh seven four
- 37:55Speaker 2: six seven three. And if you call this hour, every
- 37:58Speaker 2: gift we get will be matched unlimited. So doesn't matter
- 38:03Speaker 2: how you give five thousand dollars you're going to feed,
- 38:06Speaker 2: how many kids that is you're gonna feed, You're going
- 38:09Speaker 2: to double that in terms of the food in the
- 38:11Speaker 2: water that reaches and how many children are benefited by that. Friends,
- 38:15Speaker 2: it is just going to make such a huge difference,
- 38:17Speaker 2: So please don't put it off. We we have until
- 38:20Speaker 2: the end of April basically to accomplish our goal. I'd
- 38:23Speaker 2: love to hit our goal in the next couple of weeks.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Just have everybody say, Okay, let's go, let's do it.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Eight five five nine zero seven, four six seven three
- 38:33Speaker 2: eight five five nine zero seven four six seven three.
- 38:36Speaker 2: But seven hundred and twenty children are going hungry today,
- 38:40Speaker 2: and if we step up and make that gift, then
- 38:43Speaker 2: a name will come off that list and that number
- 38:46Speaker 2: will dwindle. And I want to get that number down
- 38:48Speaker 2: all the way to zero as fast as we can.
- 38:51Speaker 2: Eight five five nine zero seven four six seven three
- 38:54Speaker 2: eight five five nine zero seven four six seven three.
- 38:56Speaker 2: The next couple of days, I'll have some friends stop
- 38:58Speaker 2: by talk about it a little bit. But this is
- 39:02Speaker 2: a part of my show. We do good all the time.
- 39:06Speaker 2: We believe in doing good. We believe. One of the
- 39:08Speaker 2: things I tell my kids when I drop them off
- 39:10Speaker 2: at school in the morning, the last thing they hear
- 39:13Speaker 2: from their dad besides I Love you, is be good
- 39:17Speaker 2: and do good. And I believe that as Christians, because
- 39:22Speaker 2: the Holy Spirit lives within their heart, they have the
- 39:24Speaker 2: ability to be their identity can be good, and out
- 39:30Speaker 2: of that identity what they do with their actions can
- 39:34Speaker 2: then show that their actions are consistent with their identity,
- 39:38Speaker 2: that they will then do good. But you can't do
- 39:41Speaker 2: it backwards. You can't do good and then become good.
- 39:44Speaker 2: You got to be good and then out of being good,
- 39:46Speaker 2: you do good. And that's what I drill into their
- 39:49Speaker 2: head every single days. They're getting out of the car. Okay,
- 39:51Speaker 2: I love you, Your dad loves you. Now be good
- 39:54Speaker 2: and do good today. And they always say the same
- 39:57Speaker 2: thing back, Okay, dad, you be good and do good too.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Isn't that the best? Like I'm getting challenged by my
- 40:06Speaker 2: ten and thirteen year old to do the very thing
- 40:08Speaker 2: that I'm challenging them to do. I think that's the
- 40:11Speaker 2: way it's supposed to work, that we spur one another.
- 40:14Speaker 2: What does the scripture say, spur one another on to
- 40:17Speaker 2: love and what good deeds. Let's do that together. Eight five, five,
- 40:22Speaker 2: nine oh seven four six seven three. Feed a couple
- 40:26Speaker 2: of children for one hundred and fifty dollars for the
- 40:28Speaker 2: next year and give them all the water that they need.
- 40:30Speaker 2: But right now, if you do it, that will be
- 40:32Speaker 2: match dollar for dollar eight five five nine oh seven
- 40:34Speaker 2: four six seven three, Or go to that Kevinshow dot
- 40:37Speaker 2: com and click the banner at the top of the page.
- 40:43Speaker 8: Three.

- 40:56Speaker 2: in the color and that guy would like go work
- 40:59Speaker 2: with you.
- 40:59Speaker 4: Many know him from as looks for Damas.
- 41:02Speaker 5: Of course, that Kevin Show is going to be great.
- 41:04Speaker 10: The only thing that could be greater, of course, to
- 41:05Speaker 10: be that Donald Show.
- 41:06Speaker 11: We don't have that.
- 41:07Speaker 2: So we have That Kevin.

- 41:41Speaker 3: Monday through Friday.
- 41:43Speaker 4: On That Kevin Show.
- 41:51Speaker 3: And now from the Connors in Sullivan Broadcast Studios. The
- 41:55Speaker 3: man who is not what he wants to be but
- 41:58Speaker 3: is way grateful Paddy not who he used to be here.
- 42:10Speaker 2: Welcome Inn Kevin mccallough'd like to have you with us.
- 42:12Speaker 2: It's that Kevin show, that kevinshow dot com. I have
- 42:15Speaker 2: a question for you, America. It's a big one. How
- 42:21Speaker 2: could they not stand? How could those people sitting in
- 42:28Speaker 2: those seats representing you, the voters of the United States,
- 42:33Speaker 2: for those of you that live in the districts that
- 42:35Speaker 2: they represent. And maybe that's the problem, maybe you don't care.
- 42:41Speaker 2: How could they not stand? How could you understand what
- 42:48Speaker 2: was being said from the podium, regardless of who said it,
- 42:55Speaker 2: Because I can guarantee you this, if Bill Clinton had
- 42:59Speaker 2: said it, if Barack Obama had said it, if Joe
- 43:01Speaker 2: Biden had said it, I would have stood. I would
- 43:05Speaker 2: have applauded. I would have agreed that the principal priority
- 43:13Speaker 2: of American government is to protect the citizens of America,
- 43:21Speaker 2: and not illegal aliens, and not foreign nationals, and not
- 43:26Speaker 2: other people that we don't have responsibility for. How could
- 43:31Speaker 2: they not stand? No one expects an ovation for all
- 43:35Speaker 2: the president's policies. That would be politics. That's normal, that's America.
- 43:44Speaker 2: But when members of Congress refuse to stand for grieving
- 43:48Speaker 2: parents and traumatized children, and fallen heroes, the courageous law
- 43:53Speaker 2: enforcement officers. Something is gone wrong deeply in our public
- 43:57Speaker 2: life because protest that wasn't principle. What you witnessed last
- 44:04Speaker 2: night at the State of the Union was moral collapse,
- 44:09Speaker 2: and it was on full display during the State of
- 44:11Speaker 2: the Union. During the speech the President, he kept pausing
- 44:16Speaker 2: to honor Americans whose stories transcended party. Families who lost
- 44:23Speaker 2: loved ones due to violent crime, children who survived unspeakable trauma,
- 44:28Speaker 2: police officers who ran toward danger, not away from it,
- 44:32Speaker 2: victims who deserved at least a moment of shared respect,
- 44:36Speaker 2: and Republicans stood and gave that respect, and many, many
- 44:40Speaker 2: Democrats did not. By the way, not all Democrats were
- 44:44Speaker 2: in this category. I think John Fetterman stood for almost
- 44:49Speaker 2: all of the right things, but many Democrats did not.
- 44:54Speaker 2: That was not accidental, it was coordinated. In fact, I
- 44:58Speaker 2: now have information that tells me that House Minority Leader
- 45:03Speaker 2: King Jeffries organized members to attend in what he called
- 45:08Speaker 2: silent defiance, to either do it in silence or to
- 45:13Speaker 2: skip the speech entirely, and a lot of them took
- 45:16Speaker 2: them up on it. They stayed in their seat, arms crossed,
- 45:21Speaker 2: faces hardened, even as heartbreaking stories were told from the podium.
- 45:26Speaker 2: Think about what that's, what that means. Imagine being the
- 45:30Speaker 2: grieving parent in the gallery. Imagine having your child's name
- 45:34Speaker 2: spoken before the nation. Imagine hoping, just hoping for just
- 45:38Speaker 2: thirty seconds, that politics could be put aside and civility
- 45:42Speaker 2: would rain, and people would care that your daughter was
- 45:46Speaker 2: graphically murdered on the on the Charlotte light rail by
- 45:49Speaker 2: a monster who should have never been out of jail,
- 45:53Speaker 2: and instead half the chamber sits there in icy protest
- 46:00Speaker 2: rather than Trump noticed because those throwaway lines, those were
- 46:04Speaker 2: not in his script. At one point he looks at
- 46:08Speaker 2: him and says, how do you not stand? That wasn't
- 46:10Speaker 2: in the script. It wasn't rhetorical flourish. It was just
- 46:15Speaker 2: an honest question. He was processing it as an American citizen,
- 46:19Speaker 2: as I was processing it in my living room, as
- 46:21Speaker 2: people on my text threads and on my Twitter feeds
- 46:24Speaker 2: and on my social media were all processing it. We're
- 46:27Speaker 2: all watching it, going, yeah, how can you not stand?
- 46:30Speaker 2: There's no good answer to that. A lot of Democrats
- 46:33Speaker 2: just skipped the address altogether, choosing to participate in absolutely
- 46:38Speaker 2: stupid things. There was this one thing called the People
- 46:40Speaker 2: State of the Union where people were dressed in frog outfits.
- 46:45Speaker 2: I don't even understand what that's about. What were they
- 46:48Speaker 2: being frogs about? Why were they frogs? But there were
- 46:51Speaker 2: candidates announcing their candidacy and they were in front of
- 46:54Speaker 2: these massive numbers of people dressed as frogs. I didn't
- 46:58Speaker 2: understand it. Congressman Algreen removed from the proceedings because he
- 47:02Speaker 2: wouldn't sit down. He refused to sit down, so he
- 47:05Speaker 2: got up and was taken out. Defenders claimed that Democrats
- 47:10Speaker 2: were protesting policy. They certainly were allowed to sit on
- 47:15Speaker 2: their hands when he talked about his immigration or economics
- 47:19Speaker 2: or anything that they disagree with. You're allowed to do that.
- 47:22Speaker 2: That's and they did. But they were signaling more than that.
- 47:26Speaker 2: They were signaling opposition to border enforcement and law enforcement
- 47:30Speaker 2: and immigration measures. And when you do that, that excuse
- 47:36Speaker 2: collapses instantly, because Barack Obama enforced deportations and immigration policy
- 47:46Speaker 2: much harsher than Trump does. Obama put the families in
- 47:51Speaker 2: the cages, not Trump. A child who survived violence is
- 47:56Speaker 2: not a policy, parent, is not legislation, and a fallen
- 48:04Speaker 2: police officer or military member is not a bill. Those
- 48:07Speaker 2: are human beings. And when you refuse to acknowledge them
- 48:11Speaker 2: because the wrong president is speaking, you're saying that partisanship
- 48:17Speaker 2: is more important than Americans. And you've criticized the other
- 48:21Speaker 2: side for all this time, accusing them of just that.
- 48:25Speaker 2: The message was unmistakable. We're not going to valiate anything
- 48:29Speaker 2: associated with anything associated with anything associated with anything associated
- 48:34Speaker 2: with the policies of this president, even if it's innocent people.
- 48:40Speaker 2: This isn't healthy. And the President was, to his credit,
- 48:45Speaker 2: he was right to call it out. He didn't let
- 48:47Speaker 2: the moment pass. He was stunned. I don't think the
- 48:50Speaker 2: president is often surprised, but he delivers the applause line.
- 48:55Speaker 2: He turns and looks at the gallery. He applauds the
- 48:58Speaker 2: people in the gallery that he's honoring, and then he
- 48:59Speaker 2: turns and looks at where the Democrats are sitting, and
- 49:03Speaker 2: he realizes none of them are standing except maybe Fetterman,
- 49:07Speaker 2: and he just he genuinely, out of incredulity, says, how
- 49:11Speaker 2: can you not stand? He says, at one point, We're
- 49:16Speaker 2: going to put an end to these abusive surgeries that
- 49:21Speaker 2: genetically modify or that biologically cut off organs and change
- 49:26Speaker 2: things on children that are not yet fully developed. No
- 49:30Speaker 2: developed country in the world does it. We shouldn't be
- 49:32Speaker 2: doing it. Send a bill to my desk, will outlaw it.
- 49:35Speaker 2: That's a ninety nine to one issue. Ninety nine percent
- 49:39Speaker 2: of the country want that to be embodied in law.
- 49:44Speaker 2: And they sat there and he looks at him and goes,
- 49:50Speaker 2: these guys are crazy. When lawmakers can't stand for victims
- 49:57Speaker 2: and heroes, they're not representing the best of US America.
- 50:02Speaker 2: How can you not stand? That question will echo long
- 50:05Speaker 2: after this speech is forgotten, because it was never about Trump.
- 50:10Speaker 2: It's about who we are and whether we still know
- 50:12Speaker 2: how to honor one another when it matters the most.
- 50:17Speaker 2: Kevin McCullough, We're gonna get a lot of insight on
- 50:19Speaker 2: what happened last night from Chris Wilson from a group
- 50:22Speaker 2: called Eyes Over. You do not want to miss this.
- 50:24Speaker 2: Stay with us.
- 50:28Speaker 11: Here.
- 50:51Speaker 1: He is from New York. That n Kevin McCullough.
- 50:59Speaker 2: Welcome, Matt, that Kevin Show, that kevinshow dot Com, Kevin Telegram.
- 51:03Speaker 2: Have you heard this? I had said it all day
- 51:06Speaker 2: on today's show. I cannot believe that last night was
- 51:10Speaker 2: what it was when the President just came out and
- 51:13Speaker 2: said it.
- 51:15Speaker 10: So tonight, I'm inviting every legislator to join with my
- 51:19Speaker 10: administration and reaffirming a fundamental principle. If you agree with
- 51:24Speaker 10: this statement, then stand up and show your support. The
- 51:28Speaker 10: first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens,
- 51:33Speaker 10: not illegal alien And.
- 51:35Speaker 2: I don't know, I can't. I cannot explain it for
- 51:37Speaker 2: the life of me. I cannot explain why a party
- 51:41Speaker 2: who's not in office in power would sit on their
- 51:46Speaker 2: hands through so many common sense points in the State
- 51:50Speaker 2: of the Union. This was one of the least partisan
- 51:52Speaker 2: State of the Unions I've ever heard, and yet it
- 51:55Speaker 2: was the most partisanly responded to I've ever seen here
- 51:59Speaker 2: to discuss as Chris Willson, he's the CEO of an
- 52:01Speaker 2: organization called Eyes Over and it's kind of an inside
- 52:06Speaker 2: baseball kind of organization that takes a look at political
- 52:10Speaker 2: trends and social media and what's going on out there.
- 52:12Speaker 2: And Chris, you guys, you've been very useful to a
- 52:15Speaker 2: lot of people that are just trying to reach the
- 52:17Speaker 2: American public with their messages, and I appreciate everything that
- 52:19Speaker 2: you're doing. Was it as shocking to you that you
- 52:23Speaker 2: had a president that was as mainstream, down the middle
- 52:28Speaker 2: common sense should have been easy to agree on a
- 52:31Speaker 2: ton of stuff. I mean, Democrats are standing up when
- 52:34Speaker 2: he says they're going to raise your taxes. They applauded
- 52:36Speaker 2: themselves for saying that he's good for him saying they're
- 52:40Speaker 2: going to raise his taxes. It was like they were
- 52:42Speaker 2: on the opposite page of Reason last night.
- 52:45Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, what we saw last night wasn't really
- 52:48Speaker 5: just a speech reaction per se. It was a measurable
- 52:51Speaker 5: momentum event. And that's what isover is built to do.
- 52:54Speaker 5: As you said, it is kind of insider baseball, but
- 52:55Speaker 5: at the same time, I think it matters. We monitor
- 52:58Speaker 5: sentiment and narrative velocity men by me. We monitor all
- 53:01Speaker 5: online conversations, and so it is, you know, one of
- 53:05Speaker 5: the things we see our raiders.
- 53:06Speaker 2: Going off, like.
- 53:08Speaker 5: Last night, they were well, I'll tell you, I mean,
- 53:10Speaker 5: within hours, President Trump's positive sentiment climbed to forty seven percent,
- 53:14Speaker 5: nine points over his trailing three day average, and Republicans
- 53:18Speaker 5: overall exited the speech with a five point two advantage
- 53:23Speaker 5: in overall sentiment over Democrats, where they started dead even
- 53:26Speaker 5: and we post about all this on our eyes over
- 53:29Speaker 5: underscore us X account. But the refusals to stand created
- 53:35Speaker 5: immediate negative framing across the political spectrum. And the takeaway
- 53:40Speaker 5: from that isn't just that Republicans like the speech. As
- 53:42Speaker 5: you said, it was one of the most non partisan
- 53:44Speaker 5: or bipartisan speeches probably in history, you know, because you
- 53:48Speaker 5: go back to one of the most partisan speeches ever
- 53:50Speaker 5: was George Washington's whenever he did this. But it is
- 53:54Speaker 5: the narrative pressure broke in Republican's direction, and I think
- 53:58Speaker 5: that's what matters going into the new cycle, and that's
- 54:01Speaker 5: going to be the key thing that people are gonna
- 54:02Speaker 5: be talking about today.
- 54:03Speaker 2: I want to slow down to go fast because there
- 54:06Speaker 2: were so many aspects of this speech that and you know,
- 54:09Speaker 2: I'm based in New York, but I talked to seven
- 54:12Speaker 2: hundred cities. I have a lot of friends that are
- 54:14Speaker 2: African American clergy that are on my show all the time.
- 54:18Speaker 2: We are right in the midst of rolling our sleeves
- 54:20Speaker 2: up and trying to work across party lines here just
- 54:23Speaker 2: to get common sense solutions for the most important city
- 54:27Speaker 2: in the country. And I was seeing people last night
- 54:31Speaker 2: African Americans that were angry at the fact that their
- 54:37Speaker 2: party and they disagree with them vehemently is insisting upon
- 54:44Speaker 2: voting against voter ID for example, and using the excuse
- 54:49Speaker 2: that we are incapable as a people, that brown people
- 54:53Speaker 2: are incapable as a people of being able to get IDs,
- 54:55Speaker 2: We're too dumb or ignorant, or we just not capable
- 55:00Speaker 2: of doing this stuff. When a person after person on Instagram,
- 55:05Speaker 2: many of my friends here in New York are like,
- 55:07Speaker 2: that hasn't been true for years.
- 55:09Speaker 5: Yeah, and then you Gavin News and go and give
- 55:12Speaker 5: the speeches, say I'm a nine to sixty SAT just
- 55:14Speaker 5: like all you people. It's just the Democrat optic they
- 55:18Speaker 5: created really optic's risks. And you think back last year,
- 55:22Speaker 5: the most negative moment we measured in Trump's it wouldn't
- 55:26Speaker 5: have stayed the Union, but addressed to Congress as when
- 55:28Speaker 5: Democrats refused to stand for DJ Daniel. You remember the
- 55:31Speaker 5: kid with brain cancer I get into And then they
- 55:35Speaker 5: do it again this time, and then the disruptions they
- 55:38Speaker 5: amplify the negative cross partisan framing. I mean, you're going
- 55:41Speaker 5: to see so many clips of Rascheetah Talib and Ilian
- 55:43Speaker 5: Omar yelling and they just look like these crazy people.
- 55:46Speaker 5: And so what the data showed immediately and that we
- 55:49Speaker 5: were posting about this because the little lever wouldn't move
- 55:51Speaker 5: fast enough for us. We couldn't post fast enough to
- 55:54Speaker 5: show it is the at risk indicators in democrat aligned
- 55:58Speaker 5: streams were massive. You know what's crazy about this, Kevin?
- 56:01Speaker 5: Is we do ingest Blue Sky also? So all the
- 56:04Speaker 5: crazy people over on Blue Sky they're like, oh, this
- 56:06Speaker 5: is great. It was not enough to drown out every
- 56:09Speaker 5: other online medium. And the real story here was the
- 56:12Speaker 5: momentum social engagement overall was between and you know it
- 56:17Speaker 5: goes on and off and up and down throughout the night.
- 56:19Speaker 5: It was three hundred to four hundred and fifty percent
- 56:21Speaker 5: higher than prior state of the unions. And we forecast
- 56:25Speaker 5: positive speech centiment, pre speech and immterialized. And I'll tell
- 56:29Speaker 5: you what, I'm just going to do a little plug here.
- 56:31Speaker 5: You won't see this in traditional polling. And that's my background.
- 56:35Speaker 5: I was named Polster of the Year after the Glenn
- 56:36Speaker 5: Younkin race in twenty twenty one.
- 56:38Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, well, we get over to do this.
- 56:40Speaker 5: And you won't see this captured four days and it
- 56:43Speaker 5: could be much longer. And so that's the value and
- 56:47Speaker 5: the power of what we're doing is measuring it all
- 56:48Speaker 5: in real time.
- 56:49Speaker 2: So I've got some buddies that are they're in a
- 56:52Speaker 2: football text thread. We were all in a small group
- 56:54Speaker 2: together years ago, and we four of them are Giants fans,
- 56:59Speaker 2: one of them a Jets fans, Cowboys fan, and so
- 57:02Speaker 2: we just talked smack to each other all year. But
- 57:05Speaker 2: last night they were fired up on this and one
- 57:08Speaker 2: of them goes, this is too long. He's taking too long.
- 57:12Speaker 2: I'm afraid that we're losing the audience. And I told him,
- 57:14Speaker 2: I said, Joe, I have the opposite impression. I think
- 57:17Speaker 2: that the American people are clued in, and I think
- 57:20Speaker 2: they're shocked at what they're seeing. And I think that,
- 57:23Speaker 2: and you can correct me if I'm wrong. I think
- 57:25Speaker 2: Trump generally gets better audiences anyway. I think people are
- 57:28Speaker 2: just more entertained by him, love him or hate him.
- 57:31Speaker 2: I think you tune in to see what he has
- 57:32Speaker 2: to say. And I just couldn't believe the kind of
- 57:36Speaker 2: drop the curtain and let everything be seen as the
- 57:39Speaker 2: sausage is being made kind of moments that they had,
- 57:42Speaker 2: even especially on the Charlotte story and I want to
- 57:46Speaker 2: remind people what that was about when he addressed missus
- 57:49Speaker 2: Zarutska in the in the galley. Her daughter was that
- 57:53Speaker 2: scared little blonde girl from Ukraine that we all saw
- 57:57Speaker 2: the viral video of where she is sitting on that
- 58:00Speaker 2: light rail and this absolute heinous thug murderer stands up.
- 58:05Speaker 2: Not only does he knifer, and she begins to die,
- 58:08Speaker 2: bleeding internally right there on the train. He then walks
- 58:11Speaker 2: up and down the car saying I got that witch.
- 58:14Speaker 2: Only he didn't say he got that witch. He said
- 58:16Speaker 2: something else. But this was this was and white, and
- 58:21Speaker 2: this is the mom and and everybody in the room
- 58:25Speaker 2: is seeing her tear up, and I think we were
- 58:26Speaker 2: all very emotive with her. And you cut to the
- 58:31Speaker 2: Democrats and there's Elon Omar, there's Rashida Tlaib, there's all
- 58:35Speaker 2: you know, there's a Kelly from Arizona, and they're all
- 58:37Speaker 2: sitting there stone faced like he couldn't care. And to me, like,
- 58:42Speaker 2: if I'm managing a campaign, I'm going to make miles
- 58:46Speaker 2: and miles of commercials out of this because it really
- 58:48Speaker 2: does reveal where their hearts were at.
- 58:51Speaker 5: It does, And I'll say there's three points I'd make
- 58:53Speaker 5: about it. The first one is it reinforces a caricature.
- 58:57Speaker 5: Now it's a character that Trump was trying to make
- 58:59Speaker 5: about Democrats. Republicans argue that they're reflexively oppositional and they
- 59:03Speaker 5: just they don't care about Americans and they're only out
- 59:07Speaker 5: trying to protect egaligal immigrants. And most Democrats would argue
- 59:11Speaker 5: that's untrue. But what they did last night reinforces that caricature,
- 59:16Speaker 5: and sitting during those unity frame lines reinforces the narrative.
- 59:19Speaker 5: The second thing it does it's important, is it alienates moderates.
- 59:23Speaker 5: You know, swing voters don't watch c SPAN for white policy,
- 59:25Speaker 5: for policy white papers, sorry, they watched for tone and temperament.
- 59:29Speaker 5: And that's what came out of last night. And nobody
- 59:31Speaker 5: looks at Rashida to leave and elan Omar and the
- 59:34Speaker 5: tone and temperament that they illustrated and says, hey, that's
- 59:36Speaker 5: who that represents me. And the third thing it does
- 59:39Speaker 5: is to your point, it creates replay value. That four
- 59:43Speaker 5: second clip of them yelling and members sitting on their hands,
- 59:47Speaker 5: it spreads faster than a four minute policy rebuttal and nothing,
- 59:50Speaker 5: Abigail Spamberger said, afterwards is going to be is going
- 59:54Speaker 5: to get anywhere near the amount of play that that
- 59:56Speaker 5: doesn't you know, you don't lose ground because you disagree
- 59:58Speaker 5: to the Democrats. You lose ground when disagreement looks like
- 1:00:02Speaker 5: this missedness, like you just don't care. And that's how
- 1:00:04Speaker 5: it came off well.
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: And I think that there's a lot of reasons to
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: be optimistic about many of the things that Trump has accomplished.
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: And I was glad that he kind of, you know,
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: in a sense, worked through the grocery list, because it's
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: a lot of stuff and there was a lot of
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: detail that he needed to kind of get into. But
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: I think overall, if you're talking about the emotional impact
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: of this, and you know, I'm watching different news channels
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: and the reaction was pretty similar across the board. I
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: think the gang at CNN were just kind of shocked
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: that they ended up looking as bad as they did.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: And if you're Harold Ford or Jessica Tarlov at Fox
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: News Today, you have a very difficult job at five
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: pm tonight to go on the five and try to
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: in some way make sense of whatever that was. And
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: then even mister Kelly comes out and makes a Twitter
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: video afterwards saying that that was the most corrosive and
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: divisive speech that's ever been given in a State of
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: the Union. And I'm saying, what was what was divisive
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: about you? If you think that having like, for instance,
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: two forms of voter id is is a problem, then
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: you've got to be mad at mumdonni for asking the
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: snowshovelers to produce that, not at Trump who just wants
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: one to cast a legal vote. I mean, it got
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: so kind of off the rails. Let's continue just a second.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: Chris Wilson is the CEO of ISAAH. We very honored
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: to have him with us on this day after the
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: State of the Union. Don't go ahead, let's.
- 1:01:31Speaker 9: Stick around for more of that. Kevin next here he.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: Is from New York. Kevin, Kevin McCullough.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: Welcome back, Kevin mccallaugh. Glad to have you with this
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: Times Square. Yeah. I know there's still a lot of
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: snow on the ground, but we're going to plow through
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: it anyway, No pun intended. And I have plenty of
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: idea if I wanted to give your idea, but mister
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: mom Donnie would expect it. And you know, Trump was
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: even on his game in that regard when he did
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: the throwaway line to the mayor of New York, he goes, yeah,
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: he's a nice guy. He's wrong on policy, but he's
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: a nice guy. That's what moderates want to see. They
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: want to see someone who's amiable, someone who's able to
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: talk to the person across the aisle, but not hate filled.
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: And going back Chris Wilson to from eyes over, when
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: we're talking about health care policy, when we're talking about taxes,
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: when we're talking about the increase in production US production
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: across the board, the number of factories that are coming
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: here and building new facilities and the new jobs that
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: are coming with it, they still want to float out
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: this word affordability that seemed to not even be in
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: their vocabulary when Joe Biden was in office. How did
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: he do on those kitchen table issues last night in
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: terms of the language that he used, how he approached it,
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: and what you saw happening on social media. Well, I'll
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: talk about it from a quantitative standpoint. His comments, the
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: presidence comments on the border, there were three areas the border,
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: Affordability and national identity had a seventy percent support sentiment,
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: supportive sentiment across partisan lines. Wow.
- 1:03:19Speaker 5: You know, that's really how you expand beyond your base.
- 1:03:22Speaker 5: And I would say that's something that every Republican running
- 1:03:25Speaker 5: for office in twenty twenty six needs to take from this.
- 1:03:27Speaker 5: That's your blueprint, if you're right, it absolutely is double
- 1:03:30Speaker 5: down on border, affordability, national identity. Those are emotional drivers.
- 1:03:35Speaker 5: And I think you also have to lean into the
- 1:03:37Speaker 5: cross aisle populous items like banning congressional stock stock trading.
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: That was a big deal too, it still wasn't at
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: that same level and it was. You know, the key
- 1:03:48Speaker 5: thing is here is that Trump just controlled the narrative window.
- 1:03:51Speaker 5: It's different from a different winning an election, if you will, but.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: He's a different speech giver than he was six years.
- 1:03:57Speaker 5: Ago, that's no question about it. And controlling that narrative
- 1:04:00Speaker 5: window repeatedly is how you build durable momentum. And last
- 1:04:04Speaker 5: night he did that. And so you know what we'll
- 1:04:05Speaker 5: see over the next few weeks is does the momentum
- 1:04:07Speaker 5: that we measured last night and continues into this morning.
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: We posted this morning that we see the numbers continuing
- 1:04:13Speaker 5: to go up. That it is if he's able to
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: continue that and you know, doesn't do a Rob Ryer
- 1:04:18Speaker 5: tweet or something like that, then he's got a lot
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: of progress there. And the other thing I say is,
- 1:04:23Speaker 5: you know, when you look at a twenty twenty six,
- 1:04:26Speaker 5: because that's really what this gets down to is the
- 1:04:28Speaker 5: midterm election, right is you've got to be concerned about
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: swing voters and moderates. And it's not that moderates suddenly
- 1:04:35Speaker 5: embraced every policy that Donald Trump got out there and
- 1:04:37Speaker 5: talked about. But what resonated from what he did that
- 1:04:40Speaker 5: we measured was his tone, symbolism. I mean, the brilliance
- 1:04:45Speaker 5: of continually pointing out people in the audience or putting
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: out people in the gallery that he was able to
- 1:04:50Speaker 5: point to. And we haven't even talked about the hockey
- 1:04:52Speaker 5: team yet, but the symbolism, and then the contrast, the
- 1:04:56Speaker 5: contrast with Democrats staying on their hands, and when the
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: President framed moments around citizens, around families, around public safety,
- 1:05:06Speaker 5: and then to get back to that key point and
- 1:05:07Speaker 5: then ask members to stand if they agree. Modyrns aren't
- 1:05:11Speaker 5: evaluating legislating language here, They're evaluating participation, and the visible
- 1:05:16Speaker 5: refusal becomes the story coming out of this.
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: Yeah, now, from my very non political friends. As I'm
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: hearing from people last night real time, I felt that
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: that was exactly what they were seeing. And you know,
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: it's one thing to say, well, Charlie Kirk's widow, you know,
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: Charlie was one of his guys. They're going to sit
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: on their hands against Erica, that kind of that's understandable.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: But for a coast guard guy who saves one hundred
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: and what thirty eight kids lives swimming in the waters
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: to get them, and they sit on their hands for that.
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: To talk about the young girl who thought they was
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: going to be paralyzed and you know, never be able
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: to have any kind of life, who by the way,
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: comes from a family of color and is not you know,
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: you know, a white suburban girl. And she's there and
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: she's smiling and she's waving, and they sit on their
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: hands for that, And then for the girl that gets
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: stabbed on the light rail and her parents are there
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: and they're weeping, and they sit on their hands for
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: It's just like it would be one thing if it
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: was just one moment, But they stacked their opportunity to
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: look foolish over and over and over again.
- 1:06:21Speaker 5: Yeah, they did, and all that is exactly right. But
- 1:06:25Speaker 5: I'm gonna The thing that I want to point out
- 1:06:27Speaker 5: is patriotism is a cross partisan, it's bipartisan, and that's
- 1:06:31Speaker 5: the way it used to be. Yeah, well it is
- 1:06:34Speaker 5: with voters. It may not be with elected officials. And
- 1:06:36Speaker 5: the Democrat Party has moved so far to the left.
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: Fund and PIAC did a poll this week where they
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: said that if you're a Democrat, you're more likely to
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: say to a Polster, now, I'm not cheering for the
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: Olympic team. Yeah, if Trump is my president. And this
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: is the first time in history anybody's said something like that.
- 1:06:50Speaker 5: It's crazy. It's with the Huffing Post article right after
- 1:06:52Speaker 5: the hockey team won. If you don't want to know USA, hey,
- 1:06:55Speaker 5: or wave a flag, you're not alone. But the hockey
- 1:06:58Speaker 5: tribute and the family segments are important from a representative standpoint.
- 1:07:01Speaker 5: Those moments they triggered base consolidation republic is no question.
- 1:07:05Speaker 5: But they also triggered a positivity and non idy logical
- 1:07:09Speaker 5: conversation streams. And that's the cool thing is whenever we're
- 1:07:12Speaker 5: looking at the eyes over data, we can look at
- 1:07:13Speaker 5: it with conservatives. We can look at the streams from
- 1:07:15Speaker 5: all the different universes, and we see the blue sky
- 1:07:17Speaker 5: pump in there, and moderates are more culturally traditional than
- 1:07:22Speaker 5: activists on either side, and so refusing participate participation in
- 1:07:27Speaker 5: symbolic sorry patriotic moments, and we relate writing about this
- 1:07:31Speaker 5: in symbolic patriotic moments, it risks alienated those moderates. And
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: I think the moderate aligned conversation clusters, the strongest negative
- 1:07:39Speaker 5: spikes weren't tied to policy disagreement. They were tied to disrespect,
- 1:07:43Speaker 5: perceived disrespect, and then the visible refusal. And that's important
- 1:07:47Speaker 5: because it means moderates aren't reacting to border enforcement language.
- 1:07:50Speaker 5: They're reacting to optics. And last night he's got so
- 1:07:53Speaker 5: many optics that we're going to be seeing in them
- 1:07:55Speaker 5: for days, if not weeks.
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: I want to I want to hold you for one
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: more segment, if you have time, because what I want
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: to get into is he did address substantive policy healthcare, economy, tariffs,
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: a fore of things that I want to know how
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: people not only responded to because they're not they're not
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: the emotional part. They are the more meat and potatoes
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: of the policy discussion. But understanding those and then looking
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: at November and what needs to be done for those
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: that are still, you know, running for office. We're speaking
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: with Chris Wilson. He's the CEO of Eyes Over and
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: you said follow him at ax at eyes over underscore X.
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: All right, coming right back. It's that Kevin show.
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: Don't go anywhere here.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: He is from New York that time, Kevin, Kevin McCullough,
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: welcome back.
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: It's the the day after the State of Union. A
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: fascinating discussion with Chris Wilson, CEO of is is over,
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: and you can follow them on ex at is over,
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: underscore X, usfore US. I'm sorry, underscore US is over.
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: Underscore US on X and follow them today. Chris. We've
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: talked a lot about the emotion and my favorite part
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: even was when he was saying, you know, we're going
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: to ban genital mutilation surgeries on children, and I think
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: the whole country, especially every father of every daughter that's
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: in the country, stood up and said, yeah, no more
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: boys in my girls' locker room. And he looks over
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: and what I loved about what he did, and it
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: couldn't have been rehearsed. He was genuinely amazed that these
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: people could not get behind even the most basic, middle
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: of the road positions on things. And at that point
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: he goes these people are crazy, and.
- 1:09:52Speaker 12: Then he goes on with his speech like because everyone's
- 1:09:55Speaker 12: thinking that likely he is the American everyday guy in
- 1:09:59Speaker 12: how he process is what's going on, and he's just
- 1:10:01Speaker 12: so amazed at these.
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: People being so hardcore. But that was the emotional part
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: of the speech, and I thought he was a master
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: of that. You've already kind of covered that. He did
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: get into some like meat and potatoes political policy issues.
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: You know, he's defending his tariffs, he's saying that his
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: foreign policy has stopped wars. He's very focused on the
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: things that you know he got elected for, especially you know,
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: removing criminal aliens out of the culture. He is he is,
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: He is saying that he's on the right path. He
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: is saying that the help for the economy and everything
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: else is on the way. How did those like meat
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: and potatoes moments of the of the speech resonate?
- 1:10:41Speaker 5: So it was not uniform, but there are some clear patterns.
- 1:10:45Speaker 5: So tariff and national security very so strong with Republicans,
- 1:10:49Speaker 5: consolidated Republican support, and I would say it produced what
- 1:10:52Speaker 5: I would call strong identity alignment, so that was kind
- 1:10:55Speaker 5: of like you had those sides going back and forth
- 1:10:57Speaker 5: at each other. Health Care was more mixed, interestingly populist
- 1:11:01Speaker 5: elements like low represcription drug prices, and also it was
- 1:11:06Speaker 5: at about the same time, so it's kind of mixed
- 1:11:07Speaker 5: into it in my reports here that I'm looking at.
- 1:11:10Speaker 5: But banning congressional stock trading that generated cross partisan support,
- 1:11:13Speaker 5: so armed prescription drugs, and she seems surprised.
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: By that, by the way, even called out Nancy Pelosi.
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: I loved it. It's like, what's your thinking behind that?
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: Why did the Democrats support that? Applause because she's the
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: greatest stock trader in history. She makes Warren Buffett look
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: like you and me. You know, it's crazy, it is
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: if you go and look at her stock portfolio, she
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: is truly the greatest. I was surprised they cheered for
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: him on that because I thought that that was all
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: going to be a hit to their investments.
- 1:11:39Speaker 5: Well it may be, but that didn't stop from cheering.
- 1:11:43Speaker 5: So I'd say the takeaway is that sovereignty and fairness
- 1:11:47Speaker 5: language resonate redistribution language maybe not so much, but you know,
- 1:11:52Speaker 5: on the terrace importantly, when it's tied to America first,
- 1:11:55Speaker 5: domestic manufacturing, economic sovereignty. Those are the language that produced
- 1:12:00Speaker 5: on positive alignment. It's not about it's not about policies,
- 1:12:03Speaker 5: it's not about numbers, and engagement was high, especially when
- 1:12:06Speaker 5: it was when it was framed around protecting American workers.
- 1:12:09Speaker 5: And I think that's what we tend to get away
- 1:12:10Speaker 5: from as Republicans. We talk more about, oh well GDP
- 1:12:14Speaker 5: and inflation is at point nine when it should be
- 1:12:16Speaker 5: a point eight.
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: That con nobody cares about that.
- 1:12:19Speaker 5: Yeah, if we make it about American workers, people care,
- 1:12:22Speaker 5: and it's you know, last time you had Tim Cook,
- 1:12:23Speaker 5: I think in the audience where he said, look at
- 1:12:25Speaker 5: apples bringing plants back and I guess now is that
- 1:12:28Speaker 5: the macmini they're building they're going to bring back and
- 1:12:30Speaker 5: build here in the US or whatever. I can't remember,
- 1:12:32Speaker 5: but nonetheless, it's just those are the kind of things
- 1:12:34Speaker 5: that he's got to do better at because when he
- 1:12:36Speaker 5: mentions those, or Republicans really, when he mentions them, number spike,
- 1:12:41Speaker 5: and then the opposition reaction was sharp but predictable. He
- 1:12:44Speaker 5: mentioned Kelly, it's focused on inflation and trade retaliation risks,
- 1:12:49Speaker 5: and those are the things that when they when the
- 1:12:51Speaker 5: when the Democrats bring that up, it does bring the
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: numbers back down. But what's important here is moderates. So
- 1:12:57Speaker 5: let me talk about them swing voters. They didn't respond
- 1:12:59Speaker 5: to tears as a technical economic instrument. They respond to
- 1:13:04Speaker 5: protection of American jobs, fair trade framing, and then standing
- 1:13:09Speaker 5: up to China.
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: So they were understanding it the way he was talking
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: about it.
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: Whenever those languages used. I mean you can literally see it, Kevin,
- 1:13:15Speaker 5: in real time when a certain word is used in
- 1:13:17Speaker 5: language pop or the number you can see the chart pops.
- 1:13:20Speaker 5: So when terrorists are framed, it's protecting American workers and
- 1:13:23Speaker 5: confronting China. Reactions toqu is very positive.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: I have to think that. I have to think that
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: particularly for those swing states that resonates to all those
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: factory households.
- 1:13:34Speaker 5: It does. But sovereignty framing matters more than mechanics. Oh wow,
- 1:13:38Speaker 5: One thing I want to get to. We need to
- 1:13:40Speaker 5: keep a way in mind as we message on it,
- 1:13:43Speaker 5: because even in those households, they still want America to win.
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: And that's kind of where he gets down to. And
- 1:13:49Speaker 5: if they think it is versus China, which is the
- 1:13:52Speaker 5: presence done a masterful job in sort of framing that contest.
- 1:13:55Speaker 5: You know, it's not giants versus cowboys here, it's US
- 1:13:59Speaker 5: versus China. Things matter, and that's what that's what causes
- 1:14:01Speaker 5: it to spike.
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: What about on other economic issues? Was there anything that
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: he did poorly on poorly on economics? Nothing popped in terms,
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: I mean the channel when you have so much positivity,
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: it's no, that's that's if you win a game by
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: fifty points, you forget the turnover that.
- 1:14:20Speaker 5: Happened in that.
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: Let me move to the continuation of the immigration policy
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: and the removal of aliens from criminal aliens from the
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: US big cities, because that was obviously something that people
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: took a shot at afterwards. But I really again think
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: that he was right on the money with where the
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: American heart was on that.
- 1:14:41Speaker 5: Yeah, strong engagement across what I call the swing a
- 1:14:45Speaker 5: line clusters and it was very emotionally charged and frame
- 1:14:49Speaker 5: it is national security, probably more than immigration because that's
- 1:14:52Speaker 5: where we sort of clustered under and it's framed around strength.
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: H law enforcement.
- 1:14:56Speaker 5: Maybe yeah, yeah, did terrence border control? That drove very
- 1:15:00Speaker 5: strong positive engagement. It was one of the speeches what
- 1:15:02Speaker 5: I would call most stable pillars in terms of driving momentum.
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: And that was true in Democrat and moderate circles as well.
- 1:15:10Speaker 5: I would say moderate to a moderate Democrat if or
- 1:15:13Speaker 5: any of those left.
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: Yeah, well, people like my grandparents who did not vote
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: for sex changes or abortions or anything like that. They
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: voted for you know, welfare back in the day because
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: they wanted they just wanted their friends to be okay
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: if they needed help. It's a completely different wild West
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: when it comes to what the Democratic Party is okay.
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: Top two takeaways for candidates running for office this fall,
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: particularly for Congress, because that's where you know, the whole
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: ball of wax is going to.
- 1:15:42Speaker 5: Come down to double down, double down on border affordability
- 1:15:47Speaker 5: and national identity. And I know that's three, but it's
- 1:15:51Speaker 5: maybe put to.
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: Them together harder on those messages. And so we're good.
- 1:15:54Speaker 5: The emotional drivers the trumpet populous items like banning congressional
- 1:15:59Speaker 5: stock trade that I think I said that earlier, but
- 1:16:02Speaker 5: I had nearly seventy percent support across partisan lines, and
- 1:16:05Speaker 5: that's how you expand beyond the base.
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: Do you think that the Save America Act resonated?
- 1:16:13Speaker 5: Yeah, no question. It was just sort of it was
- 1:16:15Speaker 5: kind of wrapped up in other parts.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: Of the National was a really small piece of this
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: speak right, yeah, yeah, Okay, Chris Wilson, great job, I
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: was over CEO. Thank you for spending some time helping
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: us understand all.
- 1:16:25Speaker 5: Of it today, you bet thank you. Kevin got it.
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: Kelvin McCullough, coming right back from Times Square. Don't go well,
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: stick around for more of that Kevin next. I'm serving
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: it up because a no drink minimum. It's that Kevin
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: that show. Welcome back, Kevin McCullough. So glad to have
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: you with us. Oh, my friends, my friends, my friends.
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: I love you, my friends. I'm so grateful you come
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: and listen to the show, even if you can't stand me,
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: even if you hate my guts. Thank you for being here.
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: I'm grateful to have the conversation. And I will not.
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: When my ideological opponent, Barack Obama was president, and I
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: wrote a book about him, and it was a best seller,
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: and I put things that I both admired and things
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: that I disagreed with in the book. And I did
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: that because I'm respectful of the office of the president.
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: I wish we could get back to civility. Man, would
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: that be a refreshing thing. But you know, the midterms
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: are going to be a fight to the finish and
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: the other side you saw him last night, they're not
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: going to play nice. There's nothing that's going to be
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: good natured about the election in November. So I guess
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: my best advice would be, especially if you're a follower
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: of Jesus, put on your armor, win some, be tenacious,
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: tell the truth and love people. Put on your armor.
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: Be tenacious, win some, tell the truth, love people. That's
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: what we have to do. But we have to be tenacious.
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: We have to tell the truth. I want to say
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: thank you, by the way, to David in Tacoma, Washington,
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: because yesterday he responded and said, Kevin, I hear the
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: story about the baby crying for food with food for
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: the poor, and I want to help two of those
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: children be fed seven hundred meals each for the next year.
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: Thank you, David from Tacoma, Washington. I want to say
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: thank you to someone named Mama from Pekin, Illinois. Probably listening,
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: I think to WPEO, but I could be wrong, but Mama,
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: that's the name that she gave from Peakin, Illinois, thank
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: you for helping two children by the way, both you
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: and David from Tacoma, because you gave yesterday and the
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: match was on, you're going to double that. So there's
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: actually going to be now eight kids that eat for
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: the next year, seven hundred plus meals each. That's fIF
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: you guys. You guys helped land fifty six hundred meals
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: for hungry children yesterday, just the two of you. I
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: want to say thank you to Eleanor from the Bronx
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: seventy five dollars gift that's going to help two kids
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: because of the match. And I want to say thank
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: you to Paul from Breezy Point, and then the match
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: kicked in, so Paul's gift is going to help eight.
- 1:19:54Speaker 2: Thank you, hey. Seuss from Milford, Connecticut said count me
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: in and Diana from one tog New Jersey, thank you
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: for your gift as well. There's just so many of
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: you that have come out and said and this is why, friends,
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: we are closing in on the halfway point of the
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: seven hundred and ten children, say seven hundred and twenty
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: children we're trying to feed. I believe as of this
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: very minute, we are at three hundred and sixty children
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: that have been spoken for for next year. So we're
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: we're at the halfway point and we let's let's let's
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: just knock the stuffing out of this man. Let's just
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: make every single child that's on that list, let's give
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: them assurance even before the end of February. Just let's
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: just do it all. Let's just get it done. And
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: I'm so thankful for those of you that have stepped
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: up eight five five, nine oh seven four six seven
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: three eight five five nine zero seven four six seven three,
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: Or if you want to give online, you can go
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: to that kevinshow dot com and click on the food
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: for the Poor banner. But thank you, thank you, thank you,
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: thank you for caring about your fellow Americans, even if
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: congressional members can't. I'm grateful for that Kevin Show's audience
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: who's choosing to thank you, and God bless you. Kevin
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: McCullough will be back tomorrow. We'll talk to you then.
