A Chaos Odyssey – Ep. 2 – Finding The Path · WarHams - Narrative Declaration

• I'll pick up Yevgeny and put him in my inventory. You know, if you press a little harder, you might be able to snap my neck. Again, he's blind. You can get away with a lot here. You can mislead the elderly all you want. R2, are you as fucking? R2, do you as fucking? Always not. He is in my behind. Like, reach the man. Good, good, good. Let us counterattacking. Backstroke of the West. Kill to death him. It's one of those annual watches. Batter to death him. I love that. I should really feed you all, dog. Smelly boy. Yeah, my screen name is from that fucking goddamn video. I know it's like the back of my hand. Here's our Star Wars thing as the intro. Hi, everybody. Yeah, give us a Star Wars text crawl. Yeah. Speaker, don't make me bring a Kang crumbs and cubed. Cubed or whatever. I'll kill you. It's not even funny. It is extremely funny. We can. It's actually been funny because you just shriveled. Continue. All right, everybody. Welcome to another episode of a Chaos Theory. So, hopefully, we can see what happens to our lovely brand. Oh, yeah. Wait. Did I say Chaos Theory? You did. You did. Oh, shit. I did. I guess it rolls off a lot better than Odyssey does it. Because I was fighting tooth and nail. I'm like, oh, which one should we do? But due to the proposition of the story, I was like, okay, Odyssey sounds like it's a lot more related to what's going on. So, I think I will just lean on that one. But I do find myself saying a Chaos Theory way more. And we are free. We're not fighting Splinter Cell. Yeah, well, we'll see for the next one. We'll see for the next Chaos Campaign we do. You know? It'll be the other seasons. I like how we just automatically are like, there's going to be another Chaos Campaign now. There has to be. Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's Warhams, too. Yeah. We're having a good time. Because we're all going to die, obviously. Yeah. Yeah. It's true. The whole party dies. We've got to redo this game. That's when Resort plays a squig. Yes. That'll be a novelty, spooky boy. A squeak. I hear you squeeze me. I go. Chaos Campaign. I just had to go wash out my eyes briefly because they started to burn because I'm a little tired. Oh, no. No. Don't worry. Don't worry. You can now be tired as we continue to be Chaos people in a Chaos Odyssey. I got it right this time. You got it right. You got it right. Good job. Easy. Edit that out. And then back in. Yeah. Yeah. Edit back and forth and forward and back. Info board and back. Easy. Easy. Side to side. Forward. Easy. Get me a gallon of milk, please. Easy. Inverse. Can you put a hat on Zoran? Yeah. Can you put a hat on me? Also, flip this entire scene upside down. Can you bit crush my audio, please? Now bring it around town. Now around town. Easy. Easy. Start breathing now. Now stop. Easy. Finish the edit. It's fucked up. Easy. Easy. Easy. Delete the edit. Delete the edit. Delete it. Easy. Add a video of Temple Run over Speaker's avatar. How else is anybody going to pay attention? Yeah. No one's going to look at us anymore. This probably makes us all with letter games. But, of course, we're back again for another exciting episode of a whole bunch of chaos shenanigans. Now, Thurston. Yeah. What adventure do you have for us today? Oh, let's hop right in. The first one went so well. All right. Watch out. Cool. I am going to have Speaker read the opening quote for our session today. Very good. Oh, Lorgar voice. You have all walked different paths, but together we have come to the same destination. The Emperor has failed us. The Imperium has failed us all. Attributed to Primarch Lorgar Aurelian prior to the Dropside Massacre. Ha ha ha ha ha. I added in a little laugh there because the Dropside Massacre is funny. I mean, for your side, sure. Yeah, I mean, for my side, it was fucking really great. From your perspective, it was fucking hilarious. Like, I don't think anyone won the Dropside Massacre more than your legion. Yeah, we did pretty well for ourselves, I gotta say. Yeah. You came out ahead. Then we squandered it. It was a good pun I just made there. I liked the pun. I just, I was thinking too much. I was reading too much about how much the Emperor's children completely fucked themselves over the second the heresy ended. It made me sad. It is pretty funny, though. It is pretty fun. That's the thing. It's okay. With Slaanesh, it's okay so long as it's funny. True. So, one important thing I think we learned last session, which is very important, is that none of you are really pilots of any kind of aircraft or anything like that. No, we ain't. Should we have hired a pilot? We start in the back of the fire raptor gun. As it is crashing when the question was brought up. No, we, don't you guys remember? We had that dark mechanicum guy. I'm sorry, true mechanicum guy. Is he okay? All of you, all four of you, of the Emperor's form, or the former Emperor's angels, are in the back of a fire raptor. You are descending towards a planet. The planet in this particular out excursion of yours is Van Celis' world. You're trailing someone. And the fact that this person is coming to this world is reason enough for you to follow. Whether that means this individual is something of great import to accomplish, or is going to find something of great import that you could take. There's myriad reasons, but you all agree that you need to follow this individual here. So you are descending in your fire raptor gunship. The vessel itself is now scorched after centuries of warfare. The former midnight blue torn off, replaced with metal hull, patched plates. But it still flies. This is a low-grade, meaningless world in the furthest reaches of the corpse Emperor's domain. But none of you can fly. So instead, hardwired servitors have been installed in this vessel to take you down to the surface. It's something you've become accustomed to in your time. The long, long years of having the glorified vessel of the Legion, one of the many great attack crafts, reduced to nothing more than a shuttle by the mewling, sycophantic, lobotomized drones that sit in the canopy. But this is a backwater world. There's nothing to worry about. Each of you are in the back of the gunship. As you're in the back of the gunship, I'd like to give you each a moment to describe how exactly you rest in the back of this vessel. Are you strapped in? Are you standing? What are you doing? Beth Isle is definitely pacing. Definitely has like a kind of constant energy to him and does not do well just sitting in silence for long stints of time. So he'll sit there for a little bit and then after a bit he just gets up and starts pacing just back and forth. He has ADHD. Yeah, he has ADHD. Korn has not given him his Adderall. Well, if in that case, Byzantie is definitely spreading out to take up the space that previously would have belonged to Beth Ael and using it to tune his sonic blaster as he awaits eagerly for deployment. He's man spreading into my seat. He's Slyness spreading. That's right. It belongs to me. Lifos Cephas. Cephas is probably standing at the very back of the vessel wherever the door would be for it to let out from, I would presume. He is just standing there and facing the door with his power sword not activated and planted tip down against the floor of the vessel as he stands and patiently waits for it to land so he can disembark presently as the champion of chaos he is and is just standing there wordlessly. Perhaps the only thing he's doing is similar to the avatar that I have, just occasionally pushing the sword forward and then back in a very slow rhythm as he waits. All right. Is our human friend with us? Nope. Okay. Where did we leave him? We left him at home. We don't have any human friends, guys. It's like, stray away from bit, stray away from bit. I know. Lifos is, he's strapped in. He's sitting in, in as much as his skull doesn't have eyelids. It would be as if he's in concentration as he's looking down and at a position on his staff as he is holding it. And if anybody would even get close enough to detect it, he's just doing slight chanting of various demonic mantras and words of power as he's continuing to just basically look into the warp as a way of like sort of like a proximity radar to be like, hey, is there anything as we go down to this planet? Would there be any threats or anything coming through but for another alternative that he is doing he is casting thought sending the corny thought sending is telepathically communicate with willing or unaware targets within range. Has he done this with Beth IEL before? That is my that is a key question. Would you have, okay, okay. as he's he is he's sneakily adding in some bits ever so often. Of course, I need to see if I successfully pass it. So Thurston, if I may roll some psychic stuff and see if I summon Scarlet in the ship. Absolutely. Yay. I will do this fettered just so we don't have any issues here. Do you want to do that early? Yeah, just to make sure I ride and I rolled an 11 with 8 degrees of success. Good. Lord. Very absolutely. And I am just sending various thoughts to Beth IEL as if it's not of my voice. I'm basically mimicking it to be something of you know, like, how can I quite describe it? Maybe someone more aggressive, like a lot more manlier and stuff going like, like, you don't want to stay in the ship anymore, do you? You could have been down there killing more and more of them. Do you really think you should be held behind by such mongrels on this ship? The better than all of them. Beth IEL is like, the more you talk, the worse his twitch gets. And he just kind of takes a hand and knocks against his skull on the side with the nails a few times and just when do we land? Lathos will lean over to the Sineshi and be like, is he always like this? You asking me that? How long have we been traveling together since the siege of terror? Is it only now beginning to irritate you? I never much pay attention that those of the red didn't stay away. I can't pay you for that, but don't forget that when I met you, you wore plenty of red yourself. Those were past times. Maybe you should learn to cast an incantation of paying attention to your comrades. He laughs at you. Pay attention, moron. Idiot. What are you, some kind of moron? I am tired of conversation. When do we land? We are approaching the surface. Go faster! that will require breaking protocol. Do you authorize the breaking of protocol? Break the damn protocol! No, he doesn't! Get the protocol! Compliance! Donald works faster! Gentlemen, it's been an honor knowing you. Seth reaches his hand up to grab the loop of leather hanging from the roof of the vessel. He doesn't move, he's just like, it's going to get bumpy. Sure will. Just give me a sec. Let me, here's a good old good old servitors. I like that. That's good. You know, my old leggy died in a fire after the crash. It's like coming up. Okay. The vessel begins to accelerate. Finally! all feel the intensity as it kicks in. Now, you all know that the vessel you're in, the fire raptor, isn't really typically meant for transport. In fact, it's sort of the variant of this type of gunship that eschews transport for guns. So, you know, you've already made what little modifications you can to fit as many of you inside as you can. Going faster makes this a bit more just difficult. However, the servitors bend to a 45 degree angle. Yeah, the servitors seem to be doing a good job. However, a sec. Oh, good. All of you suddenly are jerked violently as the vessel makes an abrupt turn midair. It's something none of you were expecting. So, I am going to have each of you give me a acrobatics check. And this is going to be a challenging. So, plus zero. time for me with my if you are braced, you'll get an additional plus 20. Would you say that me standing and holding the leather loop is not braced? I'll give you plus 10 for that one. Okay, fine, because I'm going to need that because my acrobatics is untrained. Lifos is strapped in. Oh, no. Lifos is strapped in. Yep, Lifos still give me a check, but give me the plus 20. That is so fucking funny. I lost by three, so I have one failure, one degree of success. Oh my god. Okay. Lifos got a 92, so six degrees of failure. Okay. Byzant, so I think did all of wait, Byzantie, Cephas. I failed by only one. And Bethael succeeded. I succeeded. Byzantie and Lifos failed by seven and six, respectively. See, I said seven and six this time. You can't yell at me. Yeah. So so all of you are stumbling and Lifos with that many degrees of failure. The strap actually breaks under the pressure of this, causing you to tumble forward. Cephas, it's not enough. You are sensible for Byzantie. Similarly, your careless attitude in the face of this has caused you to fall. All three of you tumble in front of Bethael, who, despite being like just freestanding, seems to have had no problems maintaining their balance in this circumstance. As all of your Ceramite clad forms tumble, in front of the mighty warrior, there is a sudden report from the servitors. We are taking fire from the surface. Unexpected munitions discharge. What? Oh. Hey, get up! What are you doing on the floor? At that exact moment, at that exact moment, something happens. Uh-oh. I require everyone in the cockpit who's not Bethael, so the three on the floor, to give me an infamy check. No modifiers. Okay. So here's the question I gotta ask. So I could not ever add infamy to the sheet, so I'm just gonna roll a 1d100. Yeah. Right? Yeah. For some reason, I thought I fixed it, and it was working on a previous thing, but I guess it's just I'm not worried. Sorry about that. Oh, good. It's all good. I pass with a 16 versus 23. I will fail with a 47 versus 23. Oh, it didn't record my infamy. Yeah, that's the word we were mentioning. Oh, yeah. Go to your other character. Yeah, I've got it. I've got it pulled up. Lifo succeeds with an 11. Okay, cool. That's great. That's awesome. Byzantine. Yep. The dark gods do not look favorably upon you in this moment. Uh-oh. Roll me a d100. You got it, boss. Well, maybe this roll, if I roll it high enough, that's a 71. Okay, cool. 71 hits you in the right leg. Oh, fuck. What? As coming from under the floor, an auto cannon shot from a surface-mounted gun penetrates the hull. Oh, oh, shit. Let's see. You know, if you've fallen, you can activate your chaos alert. Not your chaos alert. That's true. So, so you will take 26 points of impact damage, as this bolt comes through. This will go to your right leg. Now, I would like to ask, does the bulk of the fire raptor give me any sort of additional armor? Good, we're learning about cover here. Yes. This is a lesson. Yeah, yeah, yeah. so in this case, yes, it will. It will increase. Now, some of this is being like chalked up to the fact that it has punctured the hull. So, this will do, so let me just find the total here. So, this will reduce it by for this, it'll be about 10, but it's got penetration, so it'll only be 22 raw damage onto you. Okay, 22 raw. Now, my armor is in my leg. Thankfully, I didn't. Yeah. Well, I am fully armored. So, my AP is 8. My toughness bonus, it says, is 8. It should be a natural toughness. So, that should be a total of 16 to soak this incoming 22 damage. Yep, so you'll take 6 wounds. Ah! Damnation! The red engine explodes. Ah! You wanted to get close! I feel we're soon about to become far closer than you'd like! Have you survived the crash? This is precisely where I would like to be! Get us in close! Drop us on them, we will find who is fired. The servitor in the front explodes as the cockpit takes a shot through it. Bethel, I believe we're going to be getting close whether you would like it or not. I would like it! Well, then you're getting your wish, brother. Are there grav chutes or parachutes or anything of the sort here? You know, that's a good question. Typically, they don't really make proper grav suits for power armor individuals. Thurston, how high up are we? Not much further from the surface. You're coming in fast. The abrupt turn has kind of decelerated your momentum. Any of you who, let's see, I would say a good skill here would be if you have navigation surface, you can give me a plus 10 check as you peer through the remains of the cockpit. I just so happen to have navigation surface, so I will give you that. Challenging? No, no, plus 10. Okay. 53 is a failure because 51 is my target. Yeah, so you're trying to look, but you're just having difficulty seeing through it. You know you're close. And then there is a big thump as the vessel plows itself into something. All of you are sent flying, but your power armor manages to absorb most of the impact. The sound of all of us bouncing around in here must be very, very loud. Clang, clang, clang, clang, clang, clang. Personally, I'm just glad Thirsten didn't roll any ones after the vehicle crashed. Don't say, why would you speak that into being? Because that's the situation we're in. I changed for the half. 4d6. Ah, shit, two of you just aren't leaving this wreckage. That's awesome. That's how that works. I'm sorry. The player gets to decide, so the group gets to decide which two of you die with no save of any kind. Fuck you. No, you manage to completely just like kind of tumble into a ball together, which is convenient because you don't fall into the canopy area because the cockpit has now been compressed all the way back to the rear storage. The true miracle here is that none of the ammunition seems to have exploded. That is very likely, though, because over the several centuries, you've used a lot of the ammunition and there isn't a lot left. Also, I would absorbate damage, so I win. All right. Yeah. If the back is not already open, Beth Isle is just going to essentially try to rip his way out of what remains of this. Give me a ground athletics check. Cephas is going to help him kick down the door. Yeah. All right. Challenging. For sure. For sure. Yeah. Let's do a challenging check. All right. I will also give you a kick. Yeah. I will give you four degrees of success with a 47. I will give you one degree of failure with a 69 versus a 68. Nice. Oh, nice. Okay. Okay. The back hatch opens immediately. it kind of you managed to push it down. Which I believe the fire raptor. Well, the storm eagle has a rear hatch. Yeah. You managed to force open. Actually, no, it doesn't. It'd be a side hatch. So you managed to force open the side hatch here, which as you do so grants you exit out to sort of a desert terrain area. the notable thing that your armor systems demonstrate this. The temperature here is incredibly cold. It's about minus 20 degrees Celsius. Cold. Beth Isle is going to like push the door open as wide as he can kind of climb out and then he's going to turn and just kind of not really even thinking about it offer a hand for Cephas to follow. Cephas gladly takes the hand and hops out of the open door landing on the ground with a muddy thump as the sloshing noises might be the mud, but it can also be the copious foul greases seeping from the joints of his armor. Go. Do you know where they are? We fell that way, so they must be that way. Can I get a can I get a rough trajectory at all, Thurston, with a check of some kind? Give me awareness at I'd say in this sort of temperature it's nighttime here, it's a bit cold. I'll say a routine, so plus 20 warm. Okay, I'll give it a look. 48 with one degree of success, or two degrees of success, excuse me, compared to Yeah, that is enough for you to tell that somewhere in the distance there is a tower that has a kind of flashing red light on it, but around it, sort of nestled behind some hills, sort of appears to be several yellow spotlights. Ah, appears to be an imperial camp that far. Let us go greet them. Let's. They won't hide in their tower for long. You greet them over the course of the next three hours, during which three different groups are dispatched to try to stop you, and all of them fail. The first is a platoon of guardsmen, some ten strong, that fail to even notice you before you are upon them. um, they melt, they scream, they die. The next group is clearly more more active in what it's trying to accomplish. They melt, they scream, they die. The third group is less a group than it is a gaggle of individuals coming out in twos and threes. They're barely worth mentioning. you're now close to the area. It's not actually a camp. Several, um, lights that are set up around what appears to be a bunker of some sort set into the hill. A tower outside, uh, looms up tall. On it is a, is a tower, um, the top of which appears to be a charred wreck. Um, you would have enough insight to know that the charred wreck is, uh, damaged from probably a missile loosed by your, by your rap, fire raptor as it made its descent. Um, a kind of parting shot before you were torn out of the sky. The remnants on the ground seem to indicate that it's some sort of, some sort of anti-aircraft weapon that was loosed upon your vessel. And then there's the bunker. The first to run out is a man who seems to run in the opposite direction from you towards a vast expanse of open desert. That individual is visible to each of you running out. It's only a few moments later that a woman comes out dazed she seems to walk around eventually going towards the wreckage of the of the sort of the tower or some of the wreckage that's fallen to the ground and is on fire and seems to take some kind of like solace by this fire. The the door to the bunker that she's left is now fully open. Cephas will pay little mind to the two that are ambling out. One is obviously going to go meet his maker in the middle of the you know icy night time of the desert or wherever what time of day it is. It's not good in either case for him to be wandering out there but hey that's his prerogative. The other one does not concern Cephas and so the only remaining thing of interest for the Nerglite Plague Marine champion is inside so he will go in. I will follow Sepsis people are free to experience nature in their own way and if that means dying and starving to death in the midst of a vast wasteland that's their choice of how they'd like to go. Happens. he will be very close behind and is in fact kind of like almost hovering over Cephas's shoulder. He's still like smeared with blood after the handful of encounters and is just kind of like anxious energy like behind him just well are we going inside? We are we are patients Lyphus I am still following with the group being silent. Can you give me a sinus science check at plus 10? Sure can. Uh oh. As I look into the void. That is an 11 with five degrees of success. 11 is your lucky number today. something within that bunker uh reeks of the immaterium some kind of minor incursion a rip in the veil. You would detect this as you see your companions kind of striding with purpose towards the area. There's a debate in my head. Yeah. And I don't know what's the right one. come into my office Zoran. Sit on the couch my friend. Oh boy. The tree of woe. Dear Thurston, what else can I do to try to ascertain more about this rift as we're traveling? See if I can more accurately get a good impression of it before you know they encounter in. So at this point you've sort of detected it and it's like a stain. It doesn't appear to be like actively present or growing in intensity. I suppose my question is do you have any other psychic powers that might be appropriate here? uh the only second powers I have are uh force bolt force storm mind over matter and thoughts ending that I currently have right now but uh I do have forbidden lore of demonology. I can use yeah you know what a forbidden lore demonology check would be appropriate here. Let's give me a sec here pulling up the old skill description table gonna find out what a good example um yeah give it to me with a oh plus 10 on this gotcha. That is a 20 with five degrees of six. Okay so you can tell that what you have just uh or what what happened here you didn't bear witness to it but there was an incursion by some sort of minor minor demon power some power of the emitterium some manifesting soul that had either achieved apotheosis or potentially done the opposite and reached the apex of corruption its soul broke the veil of the material world and manifested um but it can only do so with some sort of powerful tie so whatever is inside that bunker likely has the interest of one or more of the great powers so Lathos Lathos would believe this is like an item or something maybe an artifact that he would potentially yeah like something something in there it could be a person like it's very metaphysical right it could be a person an object it could be the location itself has significance uh Lathos will stop everyone for like a moment what I detect something deep inside this structure something very dangerous demon work has happened here well you are not the first to come no quite um many interesting things have happened here but I will warn you we may be going into the meat grinder whatever you see whatever you feel try not to engage with it for who knows where your flesh will be warped to who knows who will wringe your body into if you disturb the wrong thing so our sorcerer is laying it on kind of thick can I try and see if there's any sort of and I know that a worshipper of siege would never try to lie to me but any sort of deceit or hidden agendas to his words all right look we're gonna we're gonna we're gonna establish some fucking rules here when it comes to player on player like what the fuck because I like I don't I don't want like every time to be like I must discern the true meaning of blah blah blah blah blah blah I'm not gonna let you do a check here by Zanty that is sort of undermining life I was like I don't want you to make like opposed checks here because I because again I don't even know like necessarily that like Lifos is deceiving in any real way but I would allow you to make a check to sort of supplant it with your own knowledge so if there is a particular skill you would like to employ here whether that's like a forbidden lore of your own or something along those lines that maybe could give you more or even awareness if you just like to kind of get a lay of the land before going now you're talking yes I absolutely would love to use awareness and if I can in any way I would like the glassy black eyes of Byzantine to scan out and I will spend a half action to gain the senses of an auspex as I as I send a little sensor ping throughout the bunker or at the very least as much of it as I can see okay yeah so you basically that's going to give you plus 20 to your check which is good because this would be a minus 20 check so you can give me just a challenging awareness test you got it and I do get to re-roll this if I don't like it okay already done so let's roll and that's a 94 I don't like it you know what don't like that we're gonna go ahead ooh one degree of failure okay so what you are able to tell is the like with your your your auspexes and your senses you are able to tell that there are two human life signs and as you're detecting this and as life is sort of giving the speech the rest of you have turned almost starkly there is the sound of a pistol discharging a thumping sound near the flames and then the life signs change to one and this one is inside the bunker well my auspex is being blocked by the sheer width of this place but I hear the flickering of a little mortal heartbeat and I intend to be the first to it and with that I break off running as fast as I can one mortal heart get back here I'm running after him yeah that's fine that's okay you are faster it sounds sacrilegious but yeah because you have slightly higher actually my run speed is 21 my run speed is 24 okay no I'm faster yeah no you're faster and just like motions would you like to start sprinting off into the darkness as well brother no I believe we can enjoy each other's company a little bit more as we take a straw patience is a virtue all part of his plan I'm so sorry Thurston I need to make a difficulty minus 10 check to tell everyone that there was a single human heartbeat oh my god oh yeah that's right that's true that's true you do right that's good you do okay okay okay all right so no rules we're broken here everything's great that's the one trick he has to make for the whole session guys don't worry for the entire campaign it's awesome no just for this session you gotta make another one next time hey uh hey guy who makes weird spreadsheets of all of the things that we do love you by the way if you want to make a spreadsheet of all of the times byzanti has to see if he can give a basic piece of information he would love that spreadsheet yeah everyone can help leave a comment down below see that's why i had to check the zichi in for duplicity because i knew that i'm gonna have to be pretty duplicitous soon myself i want to know the point of order you see i'm raising my hand real quick if you don't mind as i say they are running right and i would notice bethiel would not be as fast as our senishi cousin right i think bethiel is faster right uh no bethiel has three less meters of movement okay perfect may i uh just as inquire to you to see if this is okay and also uh oh just for your care just as i can i'm sorry that i didn't consult with you first for this type of stuff uh is it okay if i do thoughts with you okay if there ever is a thing of like hey i kind of don't like that you feel free to tell me uh just no no i love that shit that is such a zinchian thing yeah i apologize i should have at least ask first i didn't think about that yeah no worries um i want to propose that i would send more thoughts out to uh bethiel um basically the the plan here is to encourage bethiel with words of going you shouldn't let this thing beat you are you a weakling like all this type of stuff to help increase their speed and to get there faster wow you're gonna motivate them yeah motivate them okay okay okay so this will be this will be two checks um okay the first one the first one is going to be a well we'll do the psychic power first see yeah yeah see if it even happens uh hmm i want to risk it actually no there's no reason for me to go on fetter because i would just have the same so i actually know this if i two for psychic rating hmm yeah i'll go on fettered i'll risk it hopefully i don't roll double oh my god one scar brand later and that's 50 and that's a success i begin to send messages to bethiel's mind of of basically trying to try to emulate any of the other coordinates that i've seen anybody that would have been like maybe of a higher position in our thing to basically help bring in some inspiration uh or even just like oh this possibly you're seeing someone better that's the that's the type of the dialogue i'm trying to go for where it's just there's like you can't let this you can't let this snake beat you are you weak i thought you were better than them of course you're pathetic don't lose beat him kill him first kill the human before he can eat his heart it is a race for blood do not let this weakling beat you son of blood go and that's the dialogue uh sorry for some interrupt you there what did we like else we'd like to meet with your three degrees of success i will let you do a command test at plus 30 to see if this if this does motivate appropriately gotcha actually train eating uh plus 30 that my target is going to be 56 let's see if i get it no 76 so so this this has the the impact of like rather than just being like full motivation it's actually just like causing a file to get like like just irrationally angry yeah bethiel just like the the teeth are bare the twitch is getting worse he's like death gripping the chain hammer and has actually kind of started already revving it and there's just like this cacophonous sound as he lets out a roar behind byzanti and uh is not gonna catch up to him but is definitely advancing and in that moment i'm declaring it is it is byzanti who enters the room first um hulky crow describe your character from where we last left them off oh my god oh my god you guys didn't piece it together i i figured that that was a possibility what a great way to introduce himself to us all hello evgeny is backed up against a pile of rucksacks dead-eyed jaw slung low think private pile in the bathroom cold dead killer intense stare just breathing as a wicked tiny grin creeps up the side of his mouth and with one arm mantles his last gun and aims it at byzanti oh you're the last one bethel comes breaking into the room at that exact moment where are they you where are the rest of them be gone there's a charred corpse on the floor there's a body that seems to have just fallen over dead there's someone who has a terrifying um like burst wound on their head with a like rending chest wound that is like violently spilt out but the body seems to have exploded around you did this little one no i didn't they couldn't make the cut they weren't they weren't strong enough none of none of us were a little oh oh throne lifos and cephas come in at this point and hulky my friend my compadre haha i hate to do this to you but you're kind of staring down like four heretic astartes as a human gonna need you to just give me a straight old willpower test sure what happens i would be happy to now thurston i have an important question for you you make the distinction that they're heretic astartes does evgeny know that or does he just know that they're the emperor's angels i think i think at the point that cephas walks in something's up and probably life host too based on the earth we were the last two to like the other two like having skin stretched across your face that's one thing looking feral and nuts with a couple nails jutting out of your head also potentially just a little dubious having a sackcloth with a bunch of shit oozing out of it and just like weeping like sore tentacles followed in short order by a heavily armored warrior with a floating skull for a head i think at that point i think at that point that would kind of i you know solidify it you know now that you say that that's actually a that's a very fair point yeah yeah i'll give you your willpower test that's right you will i love you that is an 88 with five injuries of failure hey hey hulky wanna roll me a d100 plus 50 fuck it's a double it's a double two listen i'm just saying the 88 that could mean something i wouldn't i wouldn't dwell on that one honestly oh fuck 82 plus 50 that's gonna be 132 oh my god don't make it don't make it the don't talk to this person modifier please it's so much better it's so much better don't you do not tell me i'm mute no no no no no no no no this is this isn't a disorder this is your response to the shock oh okay okay i'm here i'm here okay okay okay i'm here i'm waiting okay the first part of this the character laughs hysterically okay following me following me following me yep and attacks anyone near him in a manic frenzy firing wildly or using any weapon he has now i know your shitty weapon cannot possibly hurt erndel so i am going to make you like as cephas walks in yeah i'll accept that cephas immediately walks over to the uh crouched and beginning to go mad with terror form of evgeny wait wait wait wait i need to make sure he doesn't crit you just just roll the attack for me go for it uh yeah okay we're gonna overcharge that make sure to target him yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah which one are you let the schusting begins i'm right here you can figure you are cool cool yeah put it put the tokens watch this somehow kill him i know it's like watch it be like zealous hatred maximum like blood loss double fail on the blood loss table uh and of course cephas would take one wound i'm gonna if i if i die right here all my blight all 100 of my blight grenades go off and you all eat shit and die with me oh well no you got it okay so that's one hit five degrees of success so that is an extra three hits how much damage yeah oh yeah that's right that's right that's right fuck your right leg in particular petting two hmm wait nine um yeah okay so nine points of damage to the right leg okay i believe that just bounces off you yeah so with my with my total armor on my leg being uh let's see wait hulky were you firing full auto of course i thirst and safe to assume no matter what i do i will be firing overcharge you please remember i don't think you can aim in full auto i don't think i believe full auto but it's overcharged so it gives me four every degree oh no you can yeah yeah you absolutely can yeah you're just minus 10 for the full auto okay yeah cool cool cool yep yeah carry on carry on keep rolling keep okay so let me look what are the numbers i'm working with here well so first of all you're getting hit in the leg okay which leg right leg yeah right leg okay so that's armor armor value eight for my power armor right uh yeah and then toughness bonus of 10 yes so how much damage am i taking again so what was the total damage you had hulky 18 because it was and then ped two yep so you you take two points from that okay that's it this madman may have more use to us he may have some information as to what happened here i'm going to use the cleaved response in such situations i he lunges over and tries to knock evgeny unconscious um i'm going to allow you to lunge uh evgeny give me another willpower test sure and the willpower test plus zero plus zero all right plus zero i really like eight 83 you failed with an eight you failed to snap out of it um do uh let me check here cephas do you have gosh do you have command uh let me check i don't i do yes do you want to give me a command at a plus 20 to like as you grab him basically be able to do the sort of snap him out of it oh i was just going to knock him unconscious i was going to punch i'll allow you to make command to represent knock him unconscious so okay any penalty to that challenging no no no plus 20 in fact i'll give you a bonus on it let's see what i get yeah uh 73 compared to 64 so like you're you're basically like coming over using your one free hand to try to like cause him to go um evgeny is like laughing hysterically um like still just like at the ludicrous of this um are the rest of you doing anything or are you just kind of letting this play out yeah i think i'm going to move to action here um seeing as the situation i'm going to try and get behind evgeny okay and uh while he sort of focused on the disgusting pestilential asshole i want to try to get right close like within like arm's reach of him yeah for sure so you're just kind of positioning yeah positioning behind him and once i get into position i'm just going to say to him little mortal look behind you and i'll whisper into his ear you can give me one more willpower this time at plus 10 okay no that's a 100 you pass out you pass out you just you just fucking pass out you can he's no good very bad damn am i good i'll pick up you've genny and put him in my inventory hey hey i was already engaging with him you can't take him out of my grip i will fight you for him i'm sorry please don't tear me in half i'm very sorry however byzanti picks up yevgeni and puts him in his inventory i'm gonna i'm gonna grapple with him to stop him from taking control of the one human what exactly do you want simply put i don't want you to be toting him around with all of your armor spiked as it is you're going to gouge his little throat out okay i'm sorry that your character is about to be ripped in half i was gonna say don't let him rip me in half don't make him roll for it also i like to imagine as byzanti trying to put him in like he has to like rotate him put him in his resident slot like try to find like the right amount no no no i pick up evgeny and i put him in the item box and i take out the mask of i take out two masks and i'm gonna go beat up george trevor now you can only fit him in your inventory if you take out the broken butterfly that's true that's true do you have your sigillite cube on you we'll stuff them in the cube and i'm cubed i'm going to focus my attention on seppis now now brother you can't be so obscene as to think that i wanted to break this plaything no i simply helped you pacify him but need i remind you that i saw him first and i did deign to share that little secret with you now didn't i take him as you wish brother just don't kill him never my intention i want to make this one a special project of ours you hear the sound of three extremely loud wet eye opening and closing noises from inside of seppis's hood very well if getting you returned to consciousness at this exact moment oh my god what do my surroundings look like the same yeah you like i don't know we haven't gone anywhere yeah you're looking up there's like two no no there's just two two large astartes above you uh one is byzante one is cephas you've you've regained a bit of your mental faculties after your your kind of break you you you you you you aren't us you weren't who is us the faithful the faithful the ex faithful ex faithful it's it's it's almost poetic isn't it we the most devout loyal and impermeable servants of him on terror left to rot with knives in our backs by one even holier than us and wouldn't luck have it and the one group of people could have stopped them one thing that we'd fought against shows up after the fires had already gone out how trite how perfect it is and Evgeny will bang on Byzanti's chestplate a futile pathetic thing that it is this little human smashing against Saramite why couldn't you have saved us why couldn't you have helped I'm going to lean in very close and I'm going to whisper so tenderly in Evgeny's ear but I am here to save you to save you let the nerve fleet clear to enhance speakers things so sorry I thought you were down on that one no no no no you're fine I left a big pregnant pause there I will I know I'm using it a lot but it's very appropriate because I was testing it out at first and now I'm like oh this will be fun thoughts ending again onto Evgeny but I'm going to repeat everything that Byzantie is saying and I will I'll throw this to you speaker if you would like to do it I want you to do it now in the voice of the emperor oh how magnificent is it Evgeny well first I have to roll but first there's another important thing about thoughts ending Evgeny do you want to receive outside thoughts of course of course he does that is that is that is an important rule that is you can't just do it like if you do it to someone who doesn't want to be contacted in that way they do get to make a willpower test to bypass it as I just found out from reading it sorry about that I had my summary here wrong for the first couple things Hulky is that okay first off I want to say yes but Thurston this is actually crucial to my decision making process here am I allowed to dean if I can decline this or want to not receive the thoughts upon first hearing the voice at which point I would make the opposed test or is it in advance of even hearing anything it's it's in advance it's like you feel something in your mind and it's like does your mind naturally rebel against that outside presence or not my thought process is simple this is a formerly trained fanatically loyal servant of the emperor that being said he's going through a crisis of faith and witness something that no mortal should really exist and see or certainly not live to see the other side of so I think that it's up to a coin toss and with the two or tails on it I say yes okay I was going to say because if you said no you'd still probably fail the well power test anyways this is where Zoran will explode the immaterium yeah yeah yeah this is where I'm going to kill everybody yeah but also just to clarify you're okay with it hulking for yes okay make sure you get consent and just to make sure speakers that okay if I hop on your thing to enhance you this way yeah make sure everyone's good I will do it unfettered let's see if I blow everybody up fuck 81 that's a failure if we can't do infamy to like re-roll or anything can we no no okay that's what the infamy stuff is more for like modifying and whatnot so yeah I can't remember the rules super well is it like adding like a plus 10 or something to it or whatever or it's double yeah so it's no no no so if you're unfettered it's only on doubles that you no on infamy thing oh on infamy um that is one sec sorry I don't remember your options kind of depend right now um uh okay so for you you can use it to remove all levels of fatigue you can heal wounds and critical damage and add plus 10 to a single roll before rolling okay that's what you can you currently use it for once you get up to 21 through 60 infamy that's when you can do a reroll okay uh so I have 23 so if I 23 infamy yeah unless that was the total yeah so so okay so so sorry if you if you have 23 infamy then you're in that second bracket or sorry my bad corruption points my bad what is your total corruption point that's the number we're looking for six yeah so so it's not gonna matter until you're like at 21 corruption you have to be more corrupt to do crazy things with infamy okay my bad uh there's a failure then my bad sorry to stop everyone there no no you're you're good all right you're good let me carry on speaker what the hell was I saying uh it's like it's like I am here to save you yes it's me I I am here to save you what better to save you and shepherd you away from the delusional false hope and false promise of the emperor than one who wears his own akeela one of his very own children and I extend my hand to him again he'll take a pause considering the rose gallery for him death to false gods and he will take Byzantine his hand death to the false emperor death to the false emperor death to the false emperor death to him that is one thing we can agree on put him down if he is conscious he can walk very well and I will happily do so and look down at Evgeny welcome to the service of the ruinous powers I do hope you enjoy your stay come show us around this bunker tell us what secrets lie within hold a moment what is your name small one Evgeny sir Evgeny Evgeny Prendergast Evgeny him Prendergast these were your former comrades they were which one is your kill Evgeny Evgeny looked down to the one who he had the honor of putting out of their misery on the floor it's it's that important now no it is important now that one yes yes good then prove it you are moving on from this false emperor and he's going to reach onto his belt and he's going to pull out his spare chainsword and hold the hilt out to Evgeny take his head oh his head was already shot through take it off the rest of his body keep it his body exploded it exploded yeah yeah the the the first out of it yeah out of it but it's still like oh right right right yeah he's still got a skull can I nearly declare there's a skull for Hulk's character to take can I narratively declare that there is no okay I'll allow it I just I just don't want I don't want fans being like Thurston let them take a head even though he said the guy clearly exploded this is on the players not my continuity is on point carry on did he atomize from blowing up he turned into a fucking pile of sludge I do feel like it is in character for Beth I.L. to be like looking at a bunch of chunky salsa and be like you killed this okay take its head go dig around a bit it would be really funny to see hulky crow's first action as a chaos worshipper being the having to talk back to your first task in chaos school piece together the sides of bone to make one chaos puzzle put your friend skull back together again he'll look at Beth I.L. offering his chainsword and put his hand up shake his head of no no and he'll draw his own chainsword and rev it and take it to his fallen comrade's neck cleaving a twain of his shoulders there's like a sloshing sound bone breaks off and sort of this spinal disconnection good and Beth I.L. will give him a big brass toothed smile now we can go hey Halky yeah okay yeah yeah let me get D 100 please fuck he's gonna pass out again oh no no he's not scheme of tables so you do this you see for a moment like the blood pool by this exploded headless body almost like seems to bubble and boil and there's like a faint breeze that blows by you and the rest of you feel this too and like you all universally get the feeling that somewhere in the galaxy something really bad just happened cool hey Thirsten what was that I love that that was the the one zero one to zero three result on the psychic phenomenon table oh so something really fucked up happened but it's not our problem oh that was that was pie brain blowing up reebs fucking medical facility true it's all connected comes back well then if we've indulged ourselves taking a few souvenirs I do believe we had a purpose here on this desolate rock it was his cue be respectful I'll be respectful as I've been respectful by not uh abandoning our newest child to the caprices of his former shepherd now we have a bunker that we need to find the secrets of I believe Evgeny was just about to take us on a tour so so Evgeny you know that this bunker is not much more than this and like three additional rooms in which are just some sleeping areas well um the most that I could tell you not for want of hiding anything this is just uh it's it's just for sleeping here there's really not much in this bunker you're welcome to poke around knock down whatever walls you can but there's truly nothing left in here I'm more that's left then what were you defending nothing each other the pass I look down at the dead bodies on the ground look back to Evgeny good job wow damn it's got fucked up damn it's got fucked up man do better listen I've just saved your life I can't get you'll deal with it he has that sort of sense of humor two came up before we walked down here one sprinted off into the desert and is liable to die and meet his fate the other seems to have been sort of aimlessly wobbling about we didn't bother with her what's their predilection guardsman we were drawing straws to see who would go out there next really just buying time with dwindling supplies waiting for the inevitable horrific end waiting for us outside one of my colleagues tried to cheat the rest of us and Mugenie looks down at his severed head needless to say he his decisions didn't pan out well for him but she must have ran out in hysterics after watching her comrades turn on each other she seemed quite placid if anything and Thurston it's at this point that Cephas is kind of piecing together that the entirety of the bunker seemed to have been sending people out to meet us correct whoops well you'd also have enough to know Cephas because you would have come in a bit later that woman she she she shot herself like that was the auspex reading that that that Byzantie was doing that once she sat down and kind of had a moment she shot herself I actually didn't tell anyone about that no no well I guess you would have seen it but but I mean it was an open area you would have seen in any event the rest of them have met their fates and you are the only one left besides the one sprinting into the desert but he shall be in father nurgle's embrace in due time if you are all that is left at this Cephas just kind of looks around at the squalid kind now thoroughly pointless fortification surrounding them little hole in the ground I suppose that means that there is nothing left of note here no nothing at all just ashes capital do you have any explosives guardsman there might be some in one of these rucksacks let me take a look it was a very clear and important part of our first session that there were no grenades or explosives to be found in here we had an entire NPC who spent many rounds trying to find those explosives that is true yeah so you're pretty sure like you actually think about it as you say and you're like wait a second no no no they tried to blow us up it didn't work Thurston is there anything around that repurpose as an explosive like say a plasma generator of some kind um there's there's like a a small um like prometheum tank unit you could probably like detonate to cause a big fire inside well brothers i believe we need to bring our new convert with us we should make efforts to raise this facility to the ground for as little use as it has defending this pass i do so love the pointlessness that is afforded to such positions it's so righteous how pointless it is question how are we supposed to get back to our ship well our friend evgeny is clearly going to tell us where we can obtain a space worthy vehicle to return to our vessel isn't that right evgeny do you really think if i was here right now i would know where a spaceship would be brothers think again do you mean to tell me that you had only the one ship with which to ferry us to the ground that's actually a good question because we have been using the same one for this long first do we have i assumed we didn't have a second one you do not currently have a secondary means of transit excuse me a moment i need to very quickly make a difficulty minus 10 with power check oh no thank you thank you thank you please byzanti will simply say i know many secrets and then not say anything rage beating i have an inquiry with you yes yeah this is gonna this is gonna take a little bit of information how long has it been since they pulled me specifically off of the space hulk and have they been in contact at all with the rest of the cleaved or am i basically out here nowhere relative timeline wise and remember that's the weird thing relative timeline wise you have been together for a few decades with them okay good at any point could we i would assume that the cleaved did not just think he's gone forever i would have tried to have reached out at that point right yeah absolutely you would have made contact in fact some of the crew has even departed and come back from other events since then but you all always manage to come back together can would it be an impossibility that the cleaved gave us a little bit more resource than nothing um without going into details i will say in this particular instance no you are you are hooped in terms of what you have to call upon to come ferry you you will have to find a way off this planet now now now now that being said that being said there are certainly there are certainly ways for you to approach this there's a ton of information so a couple of things if you have forbidden lore the long war or i'll even count the horus heresy as part of that that's fine if you have common lore the imperium you can make me plus 20 checks on both of those to maybe come up with some good information i have the long war so i'm going to make a check via the long war i will also do absolutely may i contribute with a survival i will fail uh let's see i'll check that one might be a bit of a stretch i'll ask you getting some questions sorry yeah i have rolled an 18 with six degrees of success for forbidden lore long war okay um you can give me a survival check odo it's going to be at minus 20 minus 20 okay yes it's very funny that i have forbidden lore long war considering i wasn't a part of it i'll give you two degrees of success okay um so the long war like it represents the conflict in your knowledge of the overall conflict it's much so like if you're born into a war you've probably been like raised like knowing about it you you didn't necessarily have to live it to know it i like the rest of these three who were like oh we're at terror yeah yeah exactly exactly all right so um and question evgeny did you have imperium uh lore uh i do yeah you want to give me a plus 20 check on that in fact plus 30 plus 30 because you've lived here oh i'm sorry no i have imperial guard lore i don't have imperium lore god damn it okay well yeah i don't see imperium lore imperium is in common it's below imperial guard oh you're right i'm stupid i think it's all imperium it makes it together in my mind they're all that it's all the same crap it's fine which common lore it's imperial guard you have that's i've worn make sure make sure on your character sheets to check the ones you have yep i have the ones that i have some of you some of you have not to check the ones you have so oh yeah um okay actually give me uh give me tech give me common lore tech sure plus wow yeah plus 20 plus 20 wow wow very successful 52 degrees i'm gonna narrate exactly how each of you know what you respectively know uh first of all Evgeny you know that this world vancelis's world is in the uh chinchare system which is near the eye of terror uh it is a rogue star that is plagued by gravitic storms um it is actually closer to the halo stars than it is to most imperial space it is a far off world um reputed for a a supposed um not quite saint but venerated holy figure vancelis um who walked the the the who walked in some point in the past several thousand years the exact date doesn't quite um it isn't consistent we'll put it that way uh but what you do know is that there is vancelis city the only major settlement on this planet um and this is where your knowledge sort of comes into uh overlap with Evgeny's in that that city has several trans atmospheric shuttles um it's not quite a hive city but it's one of those cities that's in that state of pre hive city where they're about to start ascending rather than expanding um so that that that one settlement and that was in fact where you were planning on on getting close to before you were shot down so unceremoniously so vancelis city is likely your best bet to get off the planet uh beth iel during the during the briefing which you don't remember much there was a city with lights and usually there's aircraft in city with lights nod nod nod nod yeah there is a city i think there would be aircrafts there well then it seems our next course of action is already well and truly obvious we go to the city we plunder it for all that it's worth and we leave with a brand new fire raptor or other suitable replacement we will need information and the best course to guarantee your success lesser being glyphos regards to you guinea fuck damn i mean space springs there's almost have the opinion that like normal you don't you're okay dude kill him i'm not being defensive on i'm just explaining because i know someone online is going to go oh my god it don't work oh my god he's racist space marine is racist oh my god this is black crusade if they're not up with it at this point they're never going to be up with it glyphos will regard that you to indicate that he's talking to him oh yes sir you told me that you are not aware of what spaceships are but you must have you must have knowledge of where you were first deployed a base camp thurston where where was our first deployed on this world oh oh it's here like your little unit is this bunker that is at the opposite end of the pilgrim's path which is important because the only way to reach van celeste city from the great wasteland of this world is through the pilgrim's path so you are stationed on the opposite side of a grueling um canyon strewn um pathway that you know fanatics take to prove their um their their loyalty and fidelity to the emperor and you were put on the opposite side of it well sir if you can he'll gesture around throw up his arms you're looking at it it's a bunker this is not a base camp you were to be originated from a base camp to then be deployed here what path did you take to get here pardon my ignorance sir but it appears that yours eclipses even mine i have nothing to hide from you nor pretense of hiding anything and it is all he grabs him grabs him by the neck and lifts him up you know if you press a little harder on my jaw you might be able to snap my neck right there guardsman cease the self-destruction and answer his question i'm not trying to be self-destructive i'm trying to educate he might be able to kill me faster if it's what he wants you're being snarky and it's not helping i think it's helping quite well i like this one don't you dare kill him if you do you'll answer to me i have if you wouldn't mind just moving your thumbs slightly sir he keeps it where it is and as he says fair enough as he says like i will not take talk back from a lesser being i have asked a perfectly reasonable question for anyone who would understand military logistics but i see you are fairly uninformed uneducated just like the rest of the slop the emperor sends to the fields now he drops him uh just like the height that he has what is the path that leads you to the main base what are you guarding so we may use there as a path to our resolution i've told you i don't know this was our forward operating base i'm not sure how versed you are how much you know of the inquisition or of a certain axiom that goes along the lines of knowledge is power guarded well we were kept so blissfully ignorant of our purpose here and through our training we are taught to not ask questions lest we end up like my former comrade there floor the most that i know and again i am happy to provide is that we are at the end of a very long path pilgrim's road ends here which stretches through the wastes to van celeste city it is likely where spaceport is if there is any greater installation it will probably be there or along the way believe me when i say i have no intention to disrespect or delude you sir and you may be ascended far beyond anything i am capable of but i will not brook that same disrespect from you i don't fear death it would be a welcome a welcome change at this point don't worry we'll keep you very much alive it's much better this way now lead us on the right path so we too can make a pilgrimage right i'm not sure how you lot fare without your helmets or rebreathers but i might need to fashion myself a little shawl before we leave here it's rather harsh outside by all means and do you have any vox relays that maybe you were using to communicate with the superior they were in the tower that blew up there's a there should be a tower outside that's what we were using to try and vainly contact anybody else to reinforce us to get us out before you betrayed oh the one the pilot blew up ah well there's your answer it seems as if all roads lead to the road well i don't mind a nice sprightly hiking trip do you it sure beats scalathrax eh is it simply a walk through the canyon or is there a vehicle we can take no if there was another vehicle outside it would likely have been taken by one of my comrades or blown up in the previous firefights i just imagine you cut to beth il like taking a hammer like an hour out to some fucking koronk i was thinking that too that would have been really useful looking at beth il like what suspiciously car-shaped lump just oh i think they hit me with the truck the car with the suspiciously suspiciously beth il shaped crater in it yeah no it's got it's got like bite marks on the side i'm just thinking the secret level of space brain animation but beth il just smash roll back the bit roll back the bit i'm pretty sure there was a torox outside it one did you see one on the way oh yes there was a torox ah great i think what i think this is beth il like reach into his mouth and like pry out like a little scrap of metal i think this is what remains of it well beth il just throws it on the ground or does he throw it on the ground or just gives it to evgenny he hands it to him evgenny looks down at this slobber knocked piece of scrap from a former torox did you eat kah cephis will put his hand in between them and say you see he found the torox destroyed by a rocket weapon of some kind anti-tank anti-armor presumably to stop you from leaving he decided to commemorate the occasion by eating the rear bumper i was trying to dislodge it my hands were occupied with my hammer and so i had to get inside somehow makes perfect sense sometimes i forget how embarrassing it is to associate with you are you supposed to roll a tech to say the inside voice is outside first i don't know i don't know man that's common knowledge i was i was selfish is trying not to let you get you know that we're the ones responsible for wiping out his entire crew his you know platoon and all the vehicles here and we're just like oh yes i ate the car why did you eat the car well it was a memorial i was trying to get inside and i was already too busy holding my hammer the only person who knew how to drive it was bill coughs up bill's dog i was thinking of the car because it was a memorial i was debating so hard the punctuate bath iel thing or it's ever so it's like oh we totally killed all those people yeah they were all wearing his uniform you ain't car was a can i scrutinize that statement maybe we get a move on before the night gets colder or else our guardsman friend may freeze to death in the desert okay okay okay here's what i'm gonna do because i have no faith in hulky one second thank you you're picking up you're welcome come on now you're welcome you're welcome come on now you're welcome okay okay okay okay okay okay so um i'm gonna let you and i don't even know if you have this trained i don't care i'm gonna let you make a logic test at plus 30 the literal highest i can give you it is a puzzle or riddle that is very basic with few possible solutions great great great great do that plus three an easy test my target's 55 i foresee eights in my future yay oh shit wait oh yeah your your your number your number there is is messed up but you are you succeed with the 22 you succeed with the 22 you are pretty sure that these are the people who murdered everyone you knew here oh i was trying to avoid that yeah but like it's pieced it together pretty after pretty confident after beth isle spat up a license plate yes i mean i thought it would be pretty obvious yeah yeah no we're awesome we're here to save him i mean he might just play along because he's fucking terrified no look i'm an ultramarine i'm blue and gold see last i'll remember most ultramarines didn't have a skull for a head all right hang on a second the reavers too warhammer 40k white space marine chapters the black templars they're not white yes they are moving on the declaration has been cancelled sorry guys this is over what are you talking about i'm with the white scars can't you tell my armor is white no we are not continuing there you go next bit next bit the helpos where the lifeos will begin to exit out of the bunker um as he begins to wait expectantly for the rest of his companions and the lesser creature to come forth with them to lead him away yeah i'm going to make sure not to leave abgenny out of my sight in part because i know that it's creepy but also because i don't want the coronate to like eat get hungry and eat him or something i already ate right um all right i guess the torox is gone so we can just walk to the city that's great cool wonderful i get the feeling we're going to get to know each other very well evgeny how long is the walk from here to the city oh several days 50 years days it's pretty far away are there any other outposts there might be along the road but i'm not rightly sure which are uh still alive at this point we would do well to make haste secure an exfiltration and return to the ship it's about 200 it's it's on the it's on the the better part of how about 180 kilometers away so better part of three days travel for a second i thought you were going to say 180 days and i'm like we're going to get to know each other really well well the problem though is is the problem though is is that's for like evgeny um cephas is a bit slower um um yeah we have to move how is cephas slower than me we have to move at land speed he is a nurgle spacer my god i move five inch i understand that my armor is perpetually leaking rusted slime and i am filled with nurgle's gifts yeah but you have like double my height your stride is longer or at least the same size your stride is longer or at least the same length yeah but he likes to take it all in with every step what is your what is your agility tell me your agility right now oh no no yeah no i'm definitely faster than you i have a 50 oh my god 33 i am the slowest of all of us with 33 agility my my move speed is uh i'll see you tomorrow how bro with no car says i'll see you tomorrow when he leaves the function just walks off into the fog silent hill too style i'm gonna find my wife okay so with with cephas in tow it's gonna take five days fight me five days then if it is going to take this long do you have any provisions left so you do not die on the road yeah i have a few mres i should be okay good i survive with less for longer you can survive longer if he brings his ex-friend along i'm not eating my friends car that was out of character it's like you should eat your friends you should eat your friends you should kill your friends hey trust us we we we're here to save you we're your new friends you should eat the corpses of your former friends hey uh hey listeners just on your bingo card zorn cannibalism you need to mark that one off oh yeah yeah yeah there it is there it is nope uh so it sounds like with that um with some mre um and in some general uh general understanding you're gonna you're gonna start moving you're gonna start moving out that's the plan that's correct i'm still hung up on beth i hell just look at him over after that statement i i promise i'll move on just hey you could eat your friends zorn read the quote i get to read one i kept thinking i keep getting passed up no look i just i know every time i give you text to read you're like oh my gosh i can't read it so i'm giving you i'm starting you off i'm starting you off on the training wheels you're fucking stupid that's why i skip you you've said that to me like eight times across our shows but if i give you text you're just like he said give me five words i think there was one time i did this and you're like thirst and i can't read chat is he really laughing or is he buying time to make sure he can read this quote i've given him you decide i can't say the five words i can't say the five words i can't say the five words i can't say the five words you've gotten to do a decade of voiceover work have you just intuited all your fucking lines sir yeah i've just been raw docking it the entire time it's all been a fluke it's impressive all those radio ads i've read and jobs all the voice acting roles nah i just wing it i just imagine that words are there i swear to god i'm gonna give you like an eight paragraph epic one day and be like zoran read this you mark my words he's gonna fucking complain listeners he's gonna complain every day ends with a tums festival because i i read faster than i think sometimes i get self-conscious okay wait wait are you uno reversing i'm too smart for your quotes there's no no that's actually a legitimate issue i've had as a kid i had to go to speech therapy and then go to special ed stuff because i kept doing that and flumbling my words it's affected me all my life now i feel bad yeah fuck you no it's fine but can you read the quote it's all over dude it's all over we love each other here narrative declaration fuck you i'm beating your ass all right i'm gonna throw you off your fucking sweet you're like i'm a big dicky i'm fucking throwing you off i'll make sure that that naked guy is back again you know in your other fucking way all right blasphemy is a victimless crime attributed to redacted by order of the emperor's holy inquisition two days of traveling it's about a day of travel through the wasteland as you make your way you eventually come to the great canyons which if guinea points out marks the opening of the pilgrim's pass crucified corpses line the way adhered on rocks and somehow slivers of wood that must have been imported or brought to this world skeletal remains impaled up looking ominously down some bedecked in gold finery others nothing more than skeletons skeletons all of them with the same sinister leer as you come down the far off distant sun gives a almost teal light to the entire affair a filter over everything even in this which is the height of day which is well only an astonishing zero degrees celsius which is 32 fahrenheit for the rest oh it's just a little chilly that's the daytime weather who knew a desert could be so cold it gets worse when you enter the pass because the wind comes through vicious and cold it comes like a like a torrent smashing into you even those of you in legion astardi's power armor have momentary hesitation as it does forcefully impact against you Evgeny give me a toughness test at minus 10 oh no you know what i was gonna make a whole thing yeah thirst i like the way this sucks can i do it plus zero instead but i don't i don't care i want him to suffer stop taking alpha abuses oh my god you can never be him seven degrees of failure at 94 you gain your first level of fatigue delightful fatigue is something that will impact you you can suffer a number of them equal to your toughness bonus you suffer a minus 10 penalty on all of your tests oh from now until you remove it that's great yep the rest of you march along yeah we're marines we're space marines space marines you do not look so good oh never never better better sir sir it's i like the way it sucks out here true guardsman i suppose but do not slow down i do not want to be out here any longer than we have to speak for yourself look at all of this wonderful nature why isn't it beautiful there is nothing out here nothing to hunt human or otherwise but they're skulls you like those don't you i like to take them i don't like when they're already there somebody did the fun part yes but just think each one of those skulls once housed a lifetime of experiences that have all gone away isn't there something sad tragic even violent about that no i do not get it i figured you wouldn't your stupidity can always keep me warm let's keep moving as we're as we're walking along i would like to assist beginning as i see him just kind of like oh he sees me slowing down and stuff i would like to use doom bolt to try and give you any warp fire oh it's gonna be a serious campaign let's fucking kill this guy let's kill this boo boo bear in fact my plan is definitely the opposite um as as lifelos begins to walk up to him and goes like we cannot have you weaker form perish in the sand come here and you'll grab the back of his armor and lift him and actually kind of like place them on his shoulder uh it was to ride on but as he's doing so i want to cast send thoughts okay are you sending to him yes so polki do you accept or no yeah okay let me cast and see if you blow up i always love that i'm gonna do a fettered so we're not gonna have a problem for that uh no just barely i got it with an 81 so ah thank goodness all right now because oh thank god for the eye so i forget to basically send a link i can always say a couple sentences to him uh so please forgive me if i mess up here um he says like i'm trying to i'm trying to like try to condense it so i do apologize and goes uh as in a more friendlier voice instead of the raspberry that lifos has been doing uh hulking within your mind if i can take some issue for you to kind of play off on within your mind you begin to hear a much more softer voice a voice that's a lot more comforting as if like like a dad you would look up to as a description for that uh who says like i apologize for any rudeness but be careful where you are comma so it's two sentences oh you're comma abusing okay comma abusing yeah i'm medic comma it's like beware of the others you get back from it you can't send it back oh you can't okay there is one where we can talk back and forth but this is i only send this to you but you do not understand what that what it comes from uh but from the context you probably have an inkling this thought is in a read-only mode at that punctuation and the punctuation is if to reinforce the dialogue as you begin to try to say something to him like thank you sir he kind of like jostled it's like like try to sit up straight weakling keep your eyes out for any dangers that may ambush us along the way right i will do my best sir thank you for the lift he says no word and it continues the if getting his mood is a little soured by what which which psychopath that's ruined your life has soured your mood oh you know i mean we only killed your friends saw you saw you at your worst and you know have basically inducted you yeah nothing too egregious by any mean i get it you've getting his rages against smog the dragon smog did do a number on a lot of people so i get it true it's true well now you ruined the however many episode build up that was gonna be the big reveal box so yes pesanti have i told you my name let's find out fuck you're right hold on hold on hold on hold on roll it for day one yeah you found my name what the fuck every time you manage to make this check it's only gonna come up when it most makes me angry most matters backward and backward side to side i was hoping to ask do you have any particular grudges funny you mention that uh i would say pretty squarely on the top of the list of inquisitor who betrayed me oh an inquisitor you say yes you didn't pick up by the whole whole color of the outfit kind of worked for them before you popped most of the heads and what was the name of this charming inquisitor i'll tell you when you're older it's a it's a it's a long story quite a lot of pretext you know i will lean in very close and whisper to him i respect a secret kept but be aware you may not live long enough to keep it for the keeper you desire do you understand my meaning or was that all gobbledygook life says can you get away from me life house no life was because like stray away from him i follow annoyingly but he becomes a very small version of himself and skips away bethael is going to lean over to cephas i think i am going to scout ahead i do not when the two of them are talking i get a headache by all means brother i must stay here and monitor them as is the right of any champion go forth and bethael is gonna scuttle ahead and using his experience in the great outdoors his experience as a forsaken and the survivalist of a sort he's gonna just start looking around for landmarks or anything really that we need to be aware of or possibly somewhere to set up camp because our poor friend is freezing to death are you looking like survival check kind of thing or yeah yeah give me a little bit plus plus ten survival check plus ten i'll give you one degree of failure okay um you're not able to find anything as you carry on up ahead instead um though you're not able to find anything of note you do start hearing up ahead is especially as you're the conversations of your companions are echoing through the canyon you do hear a hello hello are you other pilgrims out there Beth Isle's gonna squint ahead what do i say the path continues on but you notice off to the side there's what appears to be a cavern um built into uh the canyon wall here you've noticed a couple of these sort of safe areas for resting along the path um generally speaking they're fairly small they can barely accommodate one astartes but you you hear this coming from one of them further further along gonna uh kind of meander up to it and just kind of who's in there hello and as you as you approach the the entrance you you do see a figure that comes out sick it's an old man um in ragged clothing um except uh you can tell as soon as he comes into the sort of teal light here that his eyes are milky white these he's a blind man uh again sort of tattered tattered rags um he's looking like almost like awkwardly at your chest um hello you can see there's a small pack that has been laid on the ground in this in this sort of hovel side passage you are a pilgrim yes i've come to walk the path in my last days sure how so far to the city oh i do not know my my daughter she was with me she left i don't know how long ago now a few days perhaps to scout ahead she has not returned we have seen nothing that is living your daughter is probably dead no oh no no no no no the light will protect her i do not think the light is protecting anybody here old man as as you say that the rest of your companions begin to sort of approach seeing you standing in front of this doorway yeah yeah all of my 26 fellowship i've been thinking as soon as you were like as soon as you asked him like how far away until the city and he goes i don't know said the blind man to the space marine yeah i didn't want to be that much of an asshole i had to save that for you zorrin apparently absolutely that's our love language being a motherfucker dude yeah cephas kind of calls out to beth ale beth ale what have you found the first living thing on this road is he going to die probably well then let's leave him to it and blind his daughter has apparently gone on her head has anybody seen a daughter i am going did we see a daughter nope you've seen no one else on this path so far go ahead if i may thurston mm-hmm i'm gonna try something okay okay okay byzanti is going to look especially gleeful and he is going to in the sweetest voice he can muster father i thought i would never find you and i'm going to make a deceive role to convince the blind old man that i am his daughter oh make that as a challenging test you got it let's see if your gear is up to snuff let's see if your voice mod is working great sorry i was going to interject of helping him i will happily take help i i do apologize because for time of doing it and everything else uh for one i'm double checking to see if i took mimicry at all or i took something different because i remember making character it's like oh what do you get like mimicry or this um regardless i would like to kind of influence the man you know well it's the same thing i've been doing always to help emphasize that voice uh to really help him believe it uh but i know i know he already kind of did the role or so but that's that's up to you therse if it's already too late that's fine okay um well give me a sec here hmm i just need to you are free to tell me to go fuck myself be late it's okay he's checking something let him check it yeah i want to check one of the one of the rules that i don't know off hand is assisting rules in this rpg this was just around the era where like assisting and stuff was coming into vogue and i'm sure there's like a rule for how to assist but i don't see one off hand um there might be one oh here we go uh so you can assist every other character can give can reduce the difficulty by one if they have something to assist okay so they could you could reduce it by 10 which would still not be enough to help in this case all right sorry i'm comfortable no you're good i'm comfortable just calling that a failure yeah so with even with the assistance so the way that assistance works um just seeing it it's on page uh 38 um basically each character that gives assistance generally has to have training and the skill but you know smart things can can um but you essentially reduce um the difficulty by one so in this case a lack and a last not enough the old man pauses oh oh i sort of oh you miscreant why would you do such a thing have you no shame an inquisitor has no shame gonna change tactics intimidate work new hat on hi i'm the mailman yeah i normally wouldn't get this far but this guy's blind he's again he's blind you can get away with a lot here you can you can mislead the elderly all you want absolutely you can is this still challenging oh oh god yes like you've just kind of been like an asshole for no reason and then like nah actually i'm like i guess i'm the secret service i guess yeah yeah yeah yeah now we can try now we've learned rules now you can try to assist me yes what do i need to rule so you would need to have intimidate zorn okay i don't have it trained i do get like a 52 so you would need to have training in the skill to assist and that's how assistance works in this game okay so i can't cast a spell and okay it doesn't you can cast a spell if you want but um yeah if you do move on he can he can go on yeah yeah okay all right give me give me your other check here speaker you got it that is gonna be a 56 for two degrees of success inquisitor i am inquisitor august of the order hereticus what's that god you're uneducated are you truly one of the emperor's faithful of course i believe in him in the light inquisitor are you with are you are you with the patrols these are my retinue they are sworn to me now tell me if you are truly faithful of the emperor prove it to me now i'm a blind man come here to die even he with nothing still has his faith show me your faith like he kind of like like very slowly goes to his knees and like caresses his hands it's like he who sits upon the glorious throne on the throne world of humanity here my my sufferance my my please my and he just kind of goes into a prayer routine i'm going to take a second and i'm going to go to lythos or lythos i'm going to try a little deception i would so very much love it if you could aid me in creating the illusion lythos will nod i'm going to turn back by by the god emperor you recite that prayer so splendidly you you you must be the reincarnation of saint agartha i'm going to attempt deceive okay or do i miss again i'll even give you a plus 10 on this because because because you you've sufficiently humbled him prior yeah honestly i can't make a illusion for him because he won't see it uh i guess i'll thought send again uh because i should have uh what do i have like what do i have here it's like awareness thing to i have scrutiny unfortunately i don't have to see uh yeah i have deceive on train i got dodged though yeah and this is a game where it's like it is far less like it's it's less than like the d20 system where it's like oh everybody just helps out and shit like that it's far less like you have to be trained in it to do it in this game yeah we're just trying to find a way to play together uh would you allow me to do thought sending and uh do a sign of science roll that could put to enhance of like like the god emperor's voice is like you are one of my chosen i have risen you and stuff like that yeah absolutely okay i am going to go just fettered so we don't blow him up uh 51 that is a success um i began to speak her i'll allow you role play this one uh two sentences of the god emperor's voice uh to emphasize it to this man's head of like you're the one man okay you are the real god he is going to first of all try to resist this and i believe let me just need to double check i think he gets he gets a plus 20 so he's gonna try to resist this which he does not so um your your thoughts go through uh and then i will give you a plus 20 on your check speaker to account for all of this why thank you okay so it's an ordinary check plus 20 let's rock oh that alas well you know it's an ordinary plus 10 it's supposed to be plus 20 need putting in fact he's got a custom plus 20 in there so it's actually 10 even 10 higher yeah regardless you yeah well no the target 72 yeah but like i say i'm sorry i'm bad math yeah yeah i failed i failed i failed i'm sorry yeah the old man is is now like kind of lost in prayer almost not like like like he now that he started this his like his prayer continues almost as though as he continues praying it's fortifying him like dwells on terror give me strength for those who would seek to tempt me or make me stray from my path i shall finish this in your name give me the strength for which to continue this march and like so he's just like kind of in his own little like world i look a little frustrated uh bethael cephas or either of you doing anything during this uh cephas is predominantly just watching uh considering this is an old blind man and i don't know if he could tell us the way of where we need to go and i don't know if he would have anything of particular note to uh pilfer so cephas would probably just be of the mind to let him continue on his path and go to his appointed fate whatever that'll be whether that's dying in you know a day from dehydration or dying in five seconds from bethael hitting him with a chain hand bethael what are you doing bethael is very visibly starting to get impatient uh this man he wouldn't even make for good blood spill it would be no challenge no no proper fight so he's like kind of starting to get a bit twitchy as he just turns and says can we go oh i suppose evgeny evgeny will approach the old man in the midst of his prayers he was little on the throne he shall grant me the fortitude that i need to yeah and he's just kind of going on his thing him on terror will take care of you father i'm sure you will see who you're missing again in due time but tell us so that we may find our friends lost along this pilgrim's road even one as blind as you must have heard the trammel of troop organization people along the road might you have heard anything in your time here give me a charm do you have charm evgeny it's untrained but it's there you can give me a charm at minus ten oh yeah that's going to be almost impossible well you know telling me there's a chance oh yes there's your chance there's your chance that's a three with two degrees of successes yeah absolutely okay you you start to yeah you you the man pauses oh oh oh you sound like a good soul yes cooks um there there there were bandits that's that's why my daughter went ahead it was talk of bandits up ahead in the hills waylaying the pilgrims on the last legs of the journey bandits anything more than that my daughter said to stay here that she would scout ahead that I could not go on without with with her it would be too dangerous it is quite dangerous out there sir but I appreciate your help and if any will take the old man's hand just clasp with his other I do not know if he will hear you but I do and the only thing that will hear you and save you is us do you understand what I'm saying what is it you wish of me have faith in something that will answer your cries not him he didn't answer mine and now I'm just a ghost and like you can tell like like this is like affected this man like this like old man is just kind of like stunned like oh what what should I oh Thurston can I interject at this point because Cephas sees an opportunity as he's been thinking I want to ask you a question first though are we on a timetable I mean like your ship should still be in orbit it shouldn't leave you it's not going to get blasted out of the space by you know the tyranids or whatever no no there was there was nothing in orbit that was threatening you or anything like that we just came down on a whim more or less you arrived here with a mission in mind to go after your target and that has since been literally blown out of the sky Cephas will stomp forward because it's all he can really do because he's so fucking heavy comparatively and he will place a befouled hand on Evgeny's shoulder guardsman yes he mentioned banditry yes apparently there's some bandits further up the road yes haranguing pilgrims on the road on the way perhaps they might be of use indeed i think bandits may be of exceptional use to us bethael what is that saying that we are so fond of and humor me for a moment if you will catch on what is it blood for the emperor skulls for the golden throne you want to find the bandits i don't see why we shouldn't let us give there's a there's a like a grinding of gears like as he is attempting to parse this in a way that is not his usual like uh you know let us give this perverse and befouled hope is let us give hope to this older man here let us see what we can do for his people in the name of the gods if nothing else these bandits will be better prey than a blind old man retributive justice is something that your lord would approve of would he not yes certainly he would then let us get justice what say you lifos cough cough lifos is coughing okay pardon me i'll go to pardon me what say you byzanti i say and i will take a look at yifgeni that yifgeni has stirred something in my heart just then something that i found so utterly refreshing so yes yes let us be the heroes of this pilgrim's trail let us bring justice and hope to this blind old man let us find his lost daughter i commend myself utterly to yifgeni's vision in this regard and i know that zoran is temporarily afk i'm just gonna lead this in and i guess easy can edit it in when he gets back and i'll just repeat it let us go visit some change upon those who deserve it brother very well i do believe that through a long walk we could get some action today i believe has been dreary through this long journey indeed and i believe mutt is excited about that prospect aren't you boy he looks over to the beth i i i would be angrier if i didn't think there were better things out there to kill sorcerer spits at your feet sorry my vtuber humor was about to activate but no no all right so bad exactly what you were gonna do yeah it's horrible it's bad humor uh oh no the life host will uh just laugh basically at the coordinate and begin to follow basically wherever the direction was established to where the band is okay you carry on another day traveling through the winding canyons the wind continuing to pound itself if you've getting you've getting my friend give me another toughness test at minus 10 sure your toughness at minus 10 and we go from critical success to very big fail at 71 6 degrees of failure you continue to be fatigued so you'll have one fatigue level for what's coming up your companions or not because I also just have to kick the human while he's down naturally they've had it too long I also assume by Zanti as you are sort of walking you are kind of semi regularly using your aspects yes you can keep that on for sure that is in my brain for a reason I catch you you begin making your way to the southwest the path has been snaking in various directions but now it is going to the southwest into a large spider web of canyons one of the things that is becoming incredibly infuriating about this path is that it branches off at regular points sometimes you'll find yourself going down one or two paths and then finding that you know the left path ends up being a dead end or ending in what is like a crevice where multiple skeletons have been entombed in the walls there's there's fine jewelry no usable equipment it looks like anything of any actual use has been pilfered but anything that is just ostentatious has been left behind you continue on for several like I say hours another full day in fact from the cave with the old man when you finally reach a section and it falls to Byzanti you recognize that your auspex is going off it's enough for you to recognize with your auspex going off that and you at this point have recovered some of your health let us let's see how many or how much yeah let's let's see I always this is one of those things where I'm like ah yes recovering health that is in a weird place let me find it here we go you one damage per day you've been coming through here this is about your third day so you'll have regained three wounds so you're 15 Byzanti I'm just putting that in and then Cephas yeah your your wounds are all healed so I think that's it for pretty much everyone if Evgeny you're going to regain that lost wound as well and that should bring us all back to where we are as you were traveling to the southwest Byzanti your your auspex begins to ping it's it's it's really really scattered like this this terrain is causing a lot of problems you can't pinpoint but you're seeing what is multiple blips of life signs in the area but you are unable to tell specifically where the life signs are you know that they're going to be up ahead but you're you're not able to pinpoint their exact location test you know I will allow this let me bring us over to this scene bring you over to here you should see a canyon map I do indeed see a canyon map cool excellent all right you can give me an awareness test at minus 20 you got it that's an 18 for two degrees of success that is going to give you enough to know that there are three three general or two general groups there is one group that is down this way probably in the area of six to eight life signs and then there is four to six life signs to the west of this direction okay four to six eight three to eight did you say four to eight to the south and four to six to the west now you you come upon this and you can tell that they're they're they're set up in like a waiting position I'm going to give you some time to confer at this point but at that point once you start acting we'll go into combat time here okay so first things first difficulty minus 10 willpower test I have many secrets oh my god so I'm going to assume like with your knowledge of this Byzantie are you going to let someone else like step up first kind of a thing like is your plan to sort of like oh I see life signs and then kind of like fall back a bit or oh absolutely not um okay there are approximately a maximum of what was it six people this way that's and then eight to the south that's Lanesha's holy number I am simply going to begin making my way as quickly as I can this direction cool cool okay um all right I'll let other people move around Byzantie in the direction they wish to go uh Cephas was going to continue going just straight forward and seeing Byzantie arc off in that direction he will not change his mind on the matter but he will kind of look at by he will look at him somewhat quizzically from beneath his sack hood uh Slenish works in mysterious ways and he will simply continue forward anyone going with him where are you going I just like I just like in my screen Evgeny went to like hide behind rocks I don't want to be seen no he was just he was sidestepping he's building momentum to move okay okay what does your Bethael is going to kind of like stomp after him and start moving in that direction no hold on I need to make another check oh my god it's a secret are you Bethael are you going to lead the way in which direction are you leading the way so I'm gonna have the coronate pull the so Byzantine shouted no when he went in that direction uh-huh Bethael just goes fine stay behind then is going to trudge off in this direction cool oh Thurston can you uh can you move me forward as well since I'm going that direction yeah I assume you're gonna be kind of like pulling up here I'm staying with you guinea um uh as I that maybe as I try to talk to him sorry I just try to do this quickly uh I succeed on my thing exactly with an 82 and you will hear uh in his mind saying stay with lyphos he will protect you all right accept the collect call you guinea yeah are you accepting the collect call you guinea yeah you can resist it yeah you know you can just talk to me right he does not acknowledge you at all as soon as you speak out loud all right uh thurston can I attempt to get up this actually how tall are these rocks next to you if you any um well we're we're going into combat time now so i got a six remember you get plus two the special plus two hulky as we discussed because you're human i got a seven total so i only hulky gets the special plus two hulky is a human and humans get higher initiative because it's how they survive in this game why are you it's true because i roll terrible on initiative always i remember right click on the combat thing and click dice next to gertrude yeah yeah you've gedi and byzante please yep yeah sorry about that sorry the blood 13 for the initiative excellent love it for podcast people you've getting used at 11 byzante is 8 i'm gonna get byzante more dextrous uh erindel steff got a 7 and betheo got a 6 and just for podcast people like that's the order how we are yeah if genny you get to go first you see bethiel turn and i assume bethiel there's like a slight pause like a clearly like that pose of you've noticed something yeah and what you see by the way i should clarify um is down that path um are several individuals and let me pull up the art here um these are very clearly desert scavengers um they are decked in like flack flack armor with face plates and robes that are covering them head to toe they have sort of glowing eyes um they stare out and what you see um are from your perspective you see four of them uh three of them one of them like almost within a meter of you as you turn the rock corner um they are each wielding um stub automatic guns or sorry stub automatic pistols um and hold swords um there's one for their back that appears to have some kind of weapon with a like nozzle at the end of it um that is connected with a hose that's connected to a tank interesting yeah yeah um so evgeny um you've seen beth i'll sort of advance see all see all of this you haven't quite seen anything yourself but you get to go first what would you like to do uh i would like well can i see how tall this cliff face is next to me or is it just right these are these are actually like exceptionally tall they're like on average like 10 meters up so these are like very sheer stark canyon walls gotcha all right yeah let's get on top of it well with that being said then i'm gonna attempt to enter stealth i don't need to be seen right now and i'm gonna roll for that one degree of success hit it right on the dot yeah okay great um then i'm going to use what i have remaining which speeds that half movement gonna move up and shadow beth i l okay i'm gonna move right there instead okay and yeah you will then see the the same all right uh one of them lets out a yelp and moves up actually one second let's see um goes up to about here sees you beth i l uh and raises their small uh stub automatic and tries to fire at you um standard attack they are in short range they are not aiming because they moved don't know why it's automatically doing the melee thing again but i will just do that uh there's a bang um as the uh as the the stub shot goes wild uh you hear more running as another one comes bolting out hear more running as another one comes bolting out oh okay uh lifos you're up lifos will begin to walk next to beth i l as i go my half half my speed he begins to walk kind of behind him uh go about four meters towards it as he kind of goes across uh the pretty much the side of the canyon wall he sees the grouping of desert scavengers as he extends a handout and begins to seven psychic power he will then cast forth force storm and hopefully i do this correct at which he's going to unleash it full throttle he is going to push so that's going to be uh psychic rating plus 1d5 and of course i will phenomena no matter what i do uh so just to clarify for force storm so i can get it to uh uh discouraging cycle will extend it out into a great flurry of bolts of invisible force stick into a storm of fire from an automatic weapon and we shall cast upon thee let's see if i can do it these guys are not troops correct they are not troops i'm counting them all as individuals for this combat deal well yeah it's an 87 that is a failure so i get the roll as he goes like it doesn't have the the light of the emperor um one sec i want to make sure the table i think i fixed it but i will check yes okay oh god oh no okay it is for frost the temperature plummets for an instant and a thin coating of frost covers everything within 3d 10 meters i shall go ahead and roll that and that is going to be yes oh one sec you were pushing you said right yes so you add plus 10 to the table result oh okay my bad let me uh yeah let's clarify i did roll okay uh let me go grab the table my bad it's worse it's worse my bad my bad i'm trying to find phenomena there we go uh so 14 24 uh i want a hunting breeze winds whip up around the cycle for a few moments blowing light objects around and guttering fires within 3d 10 meters uh 15 yeah yeah so the wind like howls through this canyon like lifeless you try to connect to the immaterium but there is something something something strange that blocks your power as you're trying to harness your psychic powers instead it's almost as though this this pilgrimage path is like responding to your attempt by howling at you um the rest of you are unaffected i mean it's just except evgeny who gets much colder um and in fact evgeny give me another toughness test at plus 20 oh based chilly chilly the active effects window out here it's just kind of yeah i know i i think we i think we should we should look into that one that'll be a note for next time that active effects things help makes it hard to click at plus 20 yes you should be able to just click the x thing on that yeah but if i click on like other icons it then brings it up automatically every time so i have to do it every time target a 50 succeed with 46 two degrees yeah you're good you're good so you're you're kind of a bit fortified to that which is good you are not like taking any more fatigue um so that's good uh all right all right all right uh lifos was that you yes i've entered my turn already yeah there we go over to byzante all righty then byzante is going to let's see how far can i move if i so a full move is eight right yeah yeah it all depends for you to here okay as soon as you get there that you notice a guy to the southeast in a crevice he was on overwatch so he will fire at you with a pistol it's okay he's only gonna hit on sixes he's gonna do it he's gonna do it don't don't make fun of him he's gonna do it he's there yeah he's a winner a winner is him it's it's the flamer guy that's extra dangerous in overwatch oop he misses the shot goes wild with four degrees of failure in a 75 hits the wall beside you as byzante you you you turn the corner i'm going to turn the corner and i'm not even going to greet him i'm just grinning ear to ear uh i'm going to go ahead and go on a semi-auto shot uh it says i'm firing at short range i will not have the ability to aim because i've moved yep hello goodbye uh that will fail with one degree of failure could i spend an infamy to get i'm not you have to declare it before the roll for that okay great even if i for the plus i wouldn't have that's me done so you like turn the corner and you strum it hits the wall behind the guy who looks over kind of in shock um yeah yeah all right all right yeah i'd probably destroy some some of the wall rocks falling everywhere yeah uh cephas you're up uh i'm gonna have to move because i don't have line of sight on anything of particular note from my position so i'm actually oh shit how close can i move to uh lifos and bethiel here because it's not a lot of space i can only move three meters as half action yeah you'd have to kind of like either come up behind like you could kind of come up behind them here this is fairly open in terms of you know sharing space and whatnot if you want to get close yeah you absolutely can okay in that case i'm going to move get very close create a very stinky crevice i don't have a whole lot i can use on this and trying to grenade them would be kind of a bad idea no i think you can i think you can get some good dolly i died down there i just hit him that's about it yeah yeah close range like this the biggest problem is if it deviates back on you that'll never happen zorn norgo will i do have a bolt gun yeah and i can technically dual wield because i have the ability to have a weapon in my other hand unbraced yeah so is your plan to sort of like walk up and draw the bolt gun yeah i'm gonna i'm gonna draw the bolt gun and not use my power so i'm gonna have my grenade launcher and my bolt gun both available because i don't need two hands for both for either i should say i have quick draw so that's not too much of an issue i'm going to target that guy and i'm going to fire bolt gun at him targeting each bolt gun uh this is a standard attack no modifier it's in short range i can't aim so i fire my gun yep with a 29 that's five degrees of success hell yeah that'll hit him in the left leg roll damage terrific we'll go my damage sizable that is 14 damage to the target with a pen of four okay so let me do the math here uh so the left leg um this guy has tattered armor and nothing representing the left leg so you're just gonna tear through the left leg i should have fixed the damage thing like it implies tearing and all that now okay okay okay uh well we can apply the damage and see if it works okay um one sec so eight damage yes that's correct so it'll go through eight there minus one yep um one sec uh let me make sure the math here is good so your total was 14 the pen will take it down so zero armor so 14 goes straight through he'll take six critical damage um i'm not sure why it's i think some of the math is is not correct there but uh it should be six critical damage on this because eight wounds go through yeah it's not counting the oh wait no i see why okay uh yeah so it's gonna do one extra so critical damage here it is going to fracture this guy's leg um so taking a look at this as you blast him uh you basically it's gonna be plus one so you're actually gonna send him spinning through the air can you roll me a d5 okay just a d5 no additions yep no no additions uh the d5 will get me five you sent him like uh you sent him flying back into the wall and that's where he dies just a single bolt gun round you could just imagine like his left hand holding the grenade launcher like down at his side and then he just raises up a full ass bolter with the other arm and fires a single shot at him and it hits him in the thigh but the force just sends him crashing back into the stone wall one down okay that's it for you sevis that's all i got all right well oh you skipped the turn on accident because i was clicking the end turn button oh no no no no no no uh i did actually yeah you're right apparently i did okay yeah i was back to this guy well this guy's just going to uh charge into melee with byzanti you fool we'll see how well this goes for him oh it's gonna go great oh wait hold on he's charging into melee with me yeah then he's going to need to make me a minus ten willpower test because any foolish warrior or rather any warrior foolish enough to look into the beguiling gem of byzanti misfit loses their action oh loses his action foolish back he goes no he's stuck there as he is assailed with uh visions of depravity and excess assaulted with visions from every debased vice imaginable if he fails he cannot make any actions but can make reactions as normal and once passed the character has overcome the gem and will not suffer its effects again that melee encounter he gets the vision of being a tier three to a vtuber uh i get i get you so he does actually charge in still yeah he charges in but he stops gotcha gets to me cool all right awesome uh that's gonna be that guy that's gonna bring us to this guy this is where it's gonna be funny funny kind of funny it's gonna go out to here uh then he's one of these pure cones ah as a wash of fire the horrible comes out from this guy's flamer weapon um yeah so let's let's learn about flamers shall we and not the cool zeach demon but the weapon um flamers they have a range of 20 meters so it's just gonna like wash all the way up through here uh hitting all of you um how they work so this is a spray weapon um spray weapons are kind of uh hilarious in that they don't he doesn't test ballistic skill when he fires this weapon so there's no ballistic skill test instead every creature in range must make an agility test oh boy okay yeah watch this next level strat so lifos bethfiel cephas and evgeny uh 69 69 okay lifos will succeed with a 44 my target was 46 uh i will succeed with a 35 and a target of 50 i will fail uh with a 67 and target a 40 okay so um if getting you managed to hide behind the cover where you are lifos what is your your agility modifier is plus four right yes okay so you can basically you're gonna jump out of the way of the cone by like heading forward yeah you just get out of the way of the wash of it um bethfiel and cephas however do not have that luxury um both of you are going to be hit so how this works is i will roll damage to this weapon um private dice oh sorry my bad uh there we come i think i think no this is these weapons are super weird so that's why i actually want to talk it out with you for this no no you're fine i'm just apologizing yes my no no no no no no no um flamer um flamer weapons so in this case you are both going to take damage this will hit you in the body um and i think the pen here is two so uh so it's only going to be eight because i rolled a four so you're basically not going to really take any damage from this but me at least uh beth iel won't won't either because it's only eight so your armor and tough bonus however if you are hit by a flame attack you must make a second agility test or be caught on fire two of them all right oh i failed this one as well 50 target what the oh don't don't click the button just use the just just make an agility test oh just make an agility test got it i'll make another one another one another one i fail you guys you rolled the same so let's learn about being on fire on fryer okay so when you are on fire you will take 1d 10 damage oh ignoring your armor oh yucky armor but what about your toughness so let me check here i believe so i think this is one of those like weird or random things it does not ignore your toughness bonus so you will still take this now it's not necessarily the worst part of being on fire in this game you will take one level of fatigue each round you are on fire until the fire is extinguished yeah we don't like that at the start of your turn you have to make a challenging so plus zero willpower test in order to act normally otherwise you only run around and scream oh that sounds good yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah you can like obviously do things to remove the fire or whatnot but essentially it's it's fire is is real bullshit and bad and I want you to be introduced to it very early so you know not to fuck around with it and that's gonna be the flamor scub and then that's gonna bring us to Beth I. all right so sorry sorry one sec and because you are on fire I will roll this now Beth I. well because you are on fire I'm gonna roll the damage so it's nothing you will take no damage but you are still on fire so at this point give me a willpower test okay you said it was challenging yep this is really funny to me because the only thing I have to worry about from the fire is the effect even though I am taking I'm never going to take damage from that I will give you five degrees of success I'm pissed off correct but correct but you still also take the one point of fatigue damage every round and that's where it can get you yeah that's what I mean is like I'm being fatigued by fire that doesn't hurt me yes absolutely this is the funny I'm just tired okay Bethael you succeed so you are on fire but you can still act normally you can if you care about removing fire which I mean might be relevant for Bethael I don't know you can make a hard agility test so a minus 20 agility to stop duck and roll that will however not prevent say the flamer goes again yeah exactly flaming Bethael please make your decision flaming Bethael can you put someone else out yeah you can so I can basically like say you can use environmental effects or whatnot to assist as well so that's kind of a GM discretion for me okay pour bucket of water on or put yourself out with your slime yeah Bethael is going to kind of as the fire is starting to exhaust him is going to glare down this flamer let out a just a and is going to immediately just beeline charge this man full speed ahead yeah and I wish I had the turn to frenzy but I want him done now so hello gonna swooce on up to him going to rev the chain hammer and I'm going to bring it down on his whittle head once again Willem Defoe from the lighthouse please proceed I am very tempted to use an infamy with this but I already I charged so I am gonna get a plus 10 and then I'm gonna get a further plus 10 from my skull totem so I'm at a plus 30 yeah you can't possibly fail this don't say that to me be quiet Lehman brothers all right where's my that's this button this is the one okay plus 30 get his ass I will give you five degrees of success it's gonna get his ass roll damage so I'll give you some damage and then I will roll another 2d10 to see if it's higher I don't think it's gonna matter one sec definitely definitely not so you're gonna smash your rending thing it should automatically I play in public just so it automatically does it for you nice yeah so yeah so that's 31 points of damage ignoring the armor in the leg so that's gonna be like a 20 plus critical to the right leg this is a rending weapon so let's go find what rending does on legs rends it I'm sure with a meaty chop the leg comes away at the hip the target pitches to the ground howling before dying ah okay so as above except the tide of blood is so intense that for the remainder of the battle anyone making a run or charge action within six meters must make a challenging agility test or fall one moment gonna slip on my ass you are um I will place down a fine little template here one sec that's okay I want I want to slather this canyon in blood I'm close enough I don't need to charge again it's like there okay I've placed the token you can now see the blood zone blood as like this leg comes off and you just see crimson start spattering against the walls and leaking into the ground in every which way as you're on fire the rest of these guys are like what the fuck yeah I'll turn to the rest of them and just blood for the blood god yeah well this guy's dead for the dead god so oh you don't have to roll now Zoran it's only if you move in the area I was pre-rolling just to see it was time I bet okay and yeah then you'll take a point of fatigue oh I'm tired I'm sleepy because the the fire is like starting to burn you cool that's your go Beth that cultist is dead so we'll just put a dead token on him and then there's this other cultist who's not dead but is going to try to move let's see how that works for them he's going to be soon he slips and falls so he like just like basically falls in place and that's his go oh hello bee yeah the prone thing should you have a bee in your house it's kind of tacky yeah it's my funny little cat fucking germa moment just no it wasn't germa it was what's his face from vine sauce joel i think yeah he had the bee in his house yeah that whole situation there was all animation about it too it's funny oh my god this one goes prone oh my god they're all just slip sliding we around moving up towards you this one's full moving over here here yep very cool that's first round done we come back to Evgeny so Evgeny you've seen a man exploded one sent hurled up against a wall from a from an Astarte's bolt weapon followed immediately by a wave of fire coming in which you managed to dodge and then as you peek your head around you see Beth IO on fire running up and just destroying what do you want to do oh and the plague marine seems very unaffected beside you so you know but it's still on fire is on fire deeply irritated yeah he's bothered by this but he's okay the worst I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go take a nap again he's gonna see this horrified at the resilience but also the people exploding in front of him but still soldiers a soldier at the end of the day from stealth is going to take aim at the cultist in front of him and I'm gonna overcharge and hit him with my best quality last gun try and melt him from stealth okay sure circumstances and am I detected not at this moment so you'll get your bonus on that oh so there's a bonus I'm sorry a penalty for a prone target yeah oh prone targets are harder to shoot yes you would think they would be easier so okay this is like a whole this is like a whole a whole thing sometimes it's it's weird it's weird it's weird it's weird no prone targets would be harder to hit because their profile is a lot lower yeah yeah it's very realistic to do that it is it is trust me I just deal with it because pathfinder kind of does some weird stuff with it that people don't like like being prone makes it harder to attack but like everyone's like but if I got a sniper rifle and I'm prone so like there's like eight million reasons why it's better in specific circumstances but in this case follow the rules hulky murder this man absolutely rolling now so succeeds one degree so one hit yep oh for max damage though oh zealous hatred's available so that's gonna yeah click that first and it'll add to it or should add to it all that's plus five to critical damage and applying wounds okay well that's it's it's gonna hit him in the body it's definitely gonna go through and do max with that with that zealous hatred bonus so haha we've got bad news for you buddy there's a chance all of his ammo explodes so you want to read the thing I'm I'm I'm pulling it up it's right there yeah that's right there 50% chance carried ammunition explodes yeah that's I'm trying to pull up the as above is what I'm doing I'm so sorry yeah yeah I was on top of it don't worry the target is completely erased in fire melting his skin and popping his eyes like superheated egg he falls to the ground a blackened corpse except you rolled one higher as above if the target is carrying any ammunition he is it explodes so there's a 50% chance it explodes I'll roll that low is good low is it'll explode good for me look how fucking stupid this game is the ammo does not explode the ammo does not explode he's too wet with all that blood and he's dead okay cool is that your go Evgeny I believe so all right much more yep I'm passing the buck except dead guy is dead this poor fellow is is not going to move but it's going to try to fire like near point blank at you Bethael with a stub automatic pistol in hopes there's hope here he is gonna even aim just to see shouldn't have a minus 20 on it for some reason it does I'm just going to offset that with a routine okay yeah if you're rolling it shows everything you can click it off yeah so you can click that shooting into melee thing just click that off and it'll oh neat okay well it's going to hit you so I'll turn that off I guess so it's gonna hit you and he's gonna hit you the left arm with a stub automatic pistol and it bounces off your armor and he looks horrified oh the other guy seeing this attempts to escape he doesn't need to run he can just like slide through the blood like a penguin well I've got bad news he fails and is also prone all right it's gonna bring us over to this feller over here who he's about to have a lovely day he's gonna try to rush up to you by zante I don't know why by zante name looks like he's dead I'm gonna undeadify by zante please don't kill me yeah I don't know why you have zero wounds by zante I don't know why either I should have more than zero weird I'm gonna rush up to you with this guy all right and then I will I will I will that's exactly what I'm doing oh sorry I have to actually give you the correct wounds back because you were still injured and he's gonna try to hit you we'll try to willpower see if he can do that is it was it minus 10 or is it straight minus 10 he succeeds with a one whoa this guy's cool holy shit give him a name before he this guy's this guy yeah he's coming his name is trevor trevor really okay makes sense he's coming at you with a makeshift sword someone out there is named trevor and they're gonna be so excited no you know trevor's deserve a win i agree holy shit holy shit savage trevor hits you uh in the in the fucking body with with a fucking four um if you get okay if he gets zealous here that would be like the coolest that would be awesome yeah at that point we just need to recruit him holy shit fucking trevor boy dude what the fuck this guy's way cooler than me um in sec trevor doesn't fucking play we gotta adopt trevor i'm sorry trevor's coming with us yeah i'm sorry you've getting you've actually been usurped uh okay he's him okay okay let's like i gotta like fucking okay zealous like i guess we all forgot because i don't think it does it for pcs automatically so i'm just gonna put it in here so here's the thing what what we were unaware of was that when thirst and clicked on that unit he just had the sound turned all the way down he clicked on him and he went our ball the undefeated and he charged that speaker screaming you are no more oh oh god oh okay okay okay so so he's gonna do 12 points of damage with no penetration okay but he did get he did get zealous hatred which means if the attack does no damage um once reduced by armor and toughness it does one point of damage he does one point of damage to you yay awesome uh his sword does need to check and see if it breaks on my chain vandaliers oh is that a thing okay yeah because my chain vandaliers count as uh when i'm hit with a melee attack if it doesn't have a power field it is uh has to test to see if it breaks as if it you know is hitting a power field oh okay one sec um oh that's really funny yeah the first guy to break through the field gets every single possible thing that's the power of name except except good damage yeah names have power baby one sec um where was what was chain vandaliers in the main book yes okay armor upgrades i'm assuming yeah it's the uh it's the thing that i rolled for my power armor okay one sec uh chain vandalier page i see it here 173 176 okay which then sends me to 162 75% chance of destroying his attacker's weapon yeah yeah all right high is good for him now his weapon breaks his like makeshift sword just shatters it was fucking rad though that was fucking sick like he's and it's probably like it's probably like when he goes to hit you the chain vandaliers cause it to break but he just takes like a nub and sticks it in like a neck griever's like like a neck plate or something and draws a little bit of blood like screaming at you you you have life i am going to look upon the one standing cultist that is in front of beth oil and again completely unbound i shall catch the most mightiest of magics called false bolt full throttle that is a 17 i basically blast this son of a bitch for 1d10 plus 2 plus 2 times psychic rating you know with impact and all this other stuff i do roll whole punch boom i gotta also roll psychic phenomenon but still rolled 5 on that and that is going to be a total of 15 i feel like there should be i feel like i missed something because there should be some pin let me see that might be doom bolt i think no nope that's basically that impacts damage from the blood force can 71 you hate his right leg okay yeah so you're gonna hit him in the right leg with that which is you know great it's gonna okay yes take off his toughness bonus of three she's gonna take 12 he's gonna get four into there that's what it should be so yeah there's yeah critical damage four so um oh for fuck's sakes sorry i have to target every guy is kind of a problem with using that thing this would be a revert button if it i i did i revert it i did um but then i should be able to do that right okay yeah and then it's gonna fucking smash into him it's gonna send him flying how many feet uh in 1d5 d5 meters so oh well it's knocking him prone anyway so that's funny yeah let's roll d6 if it's one okay so he's gonna like basically like land over here go prone take 1d10 roll me d10 agility damage 1d10 you got it this is relevant because it'll tell if he can actually stand up in the blood one um so 26 beautiful and now roll your psychic phenomenon x let's see if we all die 35 but it's gonna be so remember plus 10 yeah yeah yeah don't worry i i've mentally got you oh cool get back to the list i was going through the roll book too just the triple check stuff and i've lost what uh so 45 is bloody tears blood weeps from stone and wood within 3d10 meters of the psyker if there are any pictures or statues of people inside this area they appear to be crying blood uh roll me 3d10 yay more blood yay yeah you are like living your best life right now bethiel yay as i smite this son of a bitch down i raise up my hands and go we are blessed blood rains upon our enemies bear and bow before the mightiest sorcerer of prosperos and about 17 around beats everything sweet happy birthday bethiel hands blood yay i've added a second layer of blood to excellent the only good slayer song begins playing raining blood at this point this guy also once he goes flying he is he is going to just die from that so okay cool byzanti you're up you are you have several individuals in front of you including savage trevor who fucking stabbed you savage trevor is getting the utmost of my attentions go polly i do move up okay five i'll spare your life are you moving oh yeah that's right in the blood yeah you don't want to be sure you want to do that he got i interrupted your turn speaker my bad it's okay you've impressed me if you can survive this i might just spare your life and i am going to uh while here uh i'm just gonna go ahead nothing too crazy i'm i am going to make a half action aim and then full auto uh point blank uh focused on savage trevor but really okay we're we're wanting to spread the love to his friends yeah of course of course all right do it all right that's eight degrees of success which means i am able to shoot out four five uh because it's four plus the one so i'll put two on trevor and then one two uh one two three on everyone around him uh if i have to put a second one one two three four yeah no that that counts it that counts it okay so five shots okay all right so let's roll damage savage trevor first savage trevor first so the first two hits yep yeah so he takes 16 to the body pen four so that's just that's just gonna do eight points of what is that energy damage yep okay so energy damage to the body uh oh yeah he's quite dead all right for your fifth one next to your weapon and your sheet there should be a blood icon uh roll that they'll just only do that should get your last one there you go very good very good um then the next one is gonna hit this poor sod in the right leg which will end him i'm really just seeing if there's any death effects that are gonna cause anything otherwise they're just kind of dying here um this one is also going to die you'd like this cacophonous blast that is tearing into them the last one however will not take enough in the left leg until you hit him in the head um so you kind of like spray over savage trevor which just like fucking like compresses his body and he falls down dead you take out the leg of this guy who just falls down dead um you hit this guy who just is like struck um in the same leg so the right leg on both of them and both of them are just taken down crumpling um you hit this fellow in the further back in the left leg he stumbles but he's still up but the stumble allows you to concentrate that last hit on his head which causes his head to um oh let's find out here um his head explodes by the sonic vibrations but it's so much vibration that he catches on fire um and then runs headless seven meters in the direction of a scattered eye oh lovely uh he runs seven meters this way um so to the sort of like up against the wall essentially running like to the northwest kind of parallel to you um and collapses in a heap of fire dead the song is all and uh this is all happening by the way um just so we're clear um this is all happening well all of the skeletons um that are like mounted on the on the like the canyon walls here these sort of like guilted and you know some normal and just ragged skeletons that have been crucified here are all now weeping blood uh oh that was from the spell so that was from life they're all weeping blood now so that i just want people to people to know the fucking horrific scene we've got going on here this is uh yeah yeah yeah yeah basically uh all right that's gonna be the end of byzantes go i think that brings us to cephas right uh assuming everyone else is oh let's let's assuming everyone else is dead in between me and that yeah uh yeah there's two prone guys here that remain okay first and foremost i gotta make your accursed check yes i don't think it's not gonna go well i only got 32 so okay i got 32 uh perfect you are you are on the fire but whatever in game and in dice hell yeah here's my question i want to ask if we clean up this combat encounter can i put out the fire without having to constantly make checks for it i'm going to say this i'm going to say this if you're in the combat encounter i'm going to declare the the fucking like blood leaking down from all of these skeletons will be a sufficient fountain to quench the flames of the holy imperium then i'm going to usher us along into the finish line now now before you do because i see you're measuring you may not want to move in that lighter circle because that's the the slippy fall land well i can't i can't hit anything yeah you can see that guy who's brown in front can i yeah yeah you can also just you can just move oh there we go i didn't think that would change my point of view that much no no for sure whatever anyway i'm going to shoot that guy with my bolt gun over there on the far right side yep i wanted to use a grenade so bad i wanted to see what would happen because it would kill like all of you yeah i also just don't want to hit byzante all right time to fire my gun i like this byzante not like you know oh it's gonna fucking fly back and hit evgeny and evgeny will die it'll be fine i've got distance anyway 48 uh that will give me three degrees of success let me roll my damage on that yep i'm rolling high on that uh that's a zealous hatred so 15 uh click that roll zealous hatred for me zealous hatred add plus eight critical damage when applying wounds uh critical severity 20 oh uh explosive damage so you hit him in the leg um with the right leg which then uh explodes um if he carries any ammunition um it explodes um there's no there's no grenades on him so we're lucky there he does have ammo for his pistol though so roll me a d10 two okay so that's going to that's just out of range seven but it's gonna it's gonna actually shrapnel up the guy next to him real bad let's do one so one d10 plus five um yeah it will because you rolled the two so that that one like this guy gets messed up real bad no one else has really hurt it says as above deals it deals one d10 plus five impact to all within i'm rolling one d10 plus five oh yeah that's right that's right yeah yeah yeah so one d10 plus two so that'd be four so that's actually gonna damage him a little bit because he doesn't have much armor so okay now roll the roll again yeah plus five uh that'll be at twelve uh that will actually end up killing the other guy with the bone fragments and exploding ammo into him see you did use a grenade you just made that guy the grenade oh yeah cephas just steps to the side in front of evgeny levels the bolt gun again with one hand like a fucking show off and shoots and then both of them die from a single explosion and and with that um just to keep us on time here um with that um the the blood rain that kind of like sprinkles down from the skeleton lifos you feel the material like the materium power come back into you as you know almost like this this this canyon's last gasp of resistance to the primordial truth evaporates with your victory here uh you can see too that all of these scavengers are are like pilgrims who failed and just became bandits and robbers um so they are still all decked out in like imperial iconography and and like ecclesiarchal symbols but they are all quite dead now um with that the the blood uh removes all of the fire on all of you so we don't have to worry about that anymore you're welcome stop dropping rolling all the blood yeah yeah exactly exactly exactly remove your fire oboe oh yeah removing my fire um well with that um uh are you going to to continue on at this point you've now defeated them you can tell that to the west just a short ways not much further in fact um the canyon opens up finally onto a main road and in the distance you do see the silhouette of a city it's again sort of a a proto hive city large structures nothing like a hive a full hive city but like the almost like the base of a hive that's starting to form that's really cool so it's like in construction we can see like cranes and stuff yeah yeah absolutely that's really sick i love that i wanted to ask a question actually thurston and this is not this is not like my big like i'm the i'm the good guy brain rolling around with this i'm going to assume that based on that camp that we just kind of like cleaned out of these bandits that there was no sign of the old man's girl anywhere um yeah so if if you look around you you will find that there are there are corpses that have been piled up in sort of like not not a bunker per se but like a like an interior section that they carved out if i pull out the actually here once i can bring us back to the map yeah and i'm just gonna move you around cephas to show you if you kind of come up these stairs and were to come into this structure here sorry the gming pathing is weird sometimes yeah there's walls there's a ghost icon you click and you're wall yeah um yeah so so you can kind of see that like around here if you come down to about here there's like a a passage that leads deeper into the rocks and inside that passage what you find is essentially like a couple of corpses maybe maybe a dozen uh one of them is very clearly another guardsman from evgeny's regiment um that was ambushed in this area uh one of the matches the description you would have got from the old man and his daughter she was clearly ambushed by these people naturally cephas isn't shaken by this in the slightest he merely makes a note of it and takes tally awesome there's nothing different about it you know it's like oh what a shame we'll go we'll go waste time and take her back to the fucking old man no just it is what it is i assume you've kind of left the old man with that info and are now moving on more or less unless you unless you want to take a day to go back to him but no we will we will leave him with that and he will continue on with whatever he's got left i'm not cephas isn't fussed about it okay i will make a private prayer to slanesh that she might take that old man unto her loving embrace excellent all right towards the city them oh before we go i'm i'm i'm taking that flamer guy's head i'm wrenching it off their shoulders hundred percent as one does hundred percent um erndel i'll get you to read this quote okay i first beheld the truth of the gods when i walked upon a sunless world i saw a vastness of architecture that would have shattered sanity if not for one simple fact no one remained such accomplishment meant nothing to the powers that dwell in the immateria all that remained on that world was the dancing of ghosts and the cries of lingering souls awaiting the thirsting jaws that would return to consume them excerpt from the first testament of zolan anki the path to the city is quiet it's it's it's you're not sure who notices it first maybe it's a kind of a communal group moment but there's no movement there's lights but there's no flickering there's there's no activity within the city eventually you pass by the first outer guard posts they're empty eventually you reach the outer walls of the city itself also empty the doors admitting you in with no problem partway within is when you find the first body citizens of the cursed imperium their skin almost a wax in gray staring up wide-eyed in poses strange many of them look as though they were in prayer some simply fell over do any of you have medicaid uh well i don't but someone someone who's not here does mm-hmm i don't got nothing i don't think any of us have medicaid the best i can do you is deceive i could lie you absolutely could scrutiny would be another one i'd allow here also have a cult that would also be a cult actually you know what i will i would allow a cultism here this is very gotcha ritually any modifiers uh i'll give you a plus 10 actually for this mighty my turn is gonna be 65 that is a 27 yeah uh lifos you're you're sort of quiet as you're you're maneuvering through this um this is this is ritual um in fact you you eventually piece together from what you're saying this is a ritual enacted on a large scale and what you what you realize about this and you don't want to tell your companions right away is the the reason that the pallor of these people is how it is is that they've all been drained of their blood the blood of the entire city has been taken out though you find not a drop of it within the structure itself in fact eventually you don't even have to make this fact known uh with your with your forbidden knowledge you do know that this is some potent ritual meant for some obscene purpose whether it's gaining infamy in the eyes of of the great powers or as you know part of some larger ritual you can't be sure this in itself could be a ritual that could gain one infamy and praise in the eyes of those powers but eventually all of you come to the same realization the body's here bloodless um it's probably made uh evident when bethiel eventually loses control and an anger strikes one of the bodies and nothing comes out of it hmm this isn't right this isn't right and as you approach the the sort of loading docks here you you find one one vessel old clearly weather worn harvest lighter that sits on the pad um ready for a group to come in it'll be cramped but you can all fit the one vessel that can take you off of this emperor formerly emperor enlightened world you realize that this must be the handiwork of the one you came in search of that this is the actions of your dreaded foe the dark apostle zolananki that is where we will end today's episode
