Pinellas County Sheriff at the center of a lawsuit filed by the ACLU alleging wrongful arrest due to police facial recognition software. Robert Dillon was accused of asking a girl under 12 to leave a Jacksonville Beach McDonald's with him in 2024. Two Jacksonville officers used surveillance software managed by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office to identify him as the subject. According to the lawsuit, Dillon has never been to Jacksonville Beach.
