- 0:21Speaker 2: You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
- 0:32Speaker 3: I see a smile mikey A's face. Was it the
- 0:35Speaker 3: customized dope in? What did it for you? Yeah? Or
- 0:38Speaker 3: just fill it in for Collins.
- 0:41Speaker 4: I was expecting you to start with it's the Herd.
- 0:47Speaker 3: I was thinking about it. I really was Israel Goodie
- 0:50Speaker 3: eras at Taylor back in Miami, mikey A, Connecticut. I
- 0:54Speaker 3: am at Syracuse, New York at the new House School
- 0:57Speaker 3: of Broadcasting. Sean McDonough, a proud alum of Syracuse University,
- 1:02Speaker 3: get to join us coming up at twelve twenty five?
- 1:05Speaker 3: Is he? I don't belong here. I have done shows
- 1:08Speaker 3: happening from the Medill School at Northwestern I have a
- 1:11Speaker 3: key to that building, and now I'm at the new
- 1:14Speaker 3: House School of Broadcasting and legends have graduated from this place,
- 1:18Speaker 3: Legends like Sean McDonough, like Marv Albert like Kenny Albert,
- 1:22Speaker 3: like I an Eagle, I don't belong here, and so
- 1:26Speaker 3: but this is funny, is he? I was thinking about this.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Had I gone to a school like this, man, would
- 1:32Speaker 3: I be good at broadcasting? Oh my god, the facility's here.
- 1:37Speaker 5: Oh, just because of the facilities, I was gonna say,
- 1:39Speaker 5: you sure.
- 1:42Speaker 3: The teachers? Yeah, you know.
- 1:44Speaker 5: I don't really know what's happening today. It feels like
- 1:46Speaker 5: a throwback Thursday on a Friday, because I was at
- 1:51Speaker 5: home earlier and I saw Skip Bayless on first take
- 1:54Speaker 5: with stephen A, and I was like, that's weird. And
- 1:56Speaker 5: then it's me effectively kind of working with College and
- 2:00Speaker 5: again like we did in the ESPN days.
- 2:01Speaker 2: That's weird.
- 2:02Speaker 5: The amount of times that I was on what's the
- 2:04Speaker 5: segment spanning the Globe? I mean, I felt like I
- 2:07Speaker 5: was a regular on College's old show. Yeah, and then yeah,
- 2:10Speaker 5: you walk in here and like, I don't know what's
- 2:12Speaker 5: going on. Taylor's wearing a Miami Dolphins shirt. It's very confusing.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Why are you wearing a Dolphin shirt? Taylor?
- 2:18Speaker 6: Just a laundry day, I had this shirt. So I
- 2:21Speaker 6: was Mac Collins's roommate in college, So I really just
- 2:24Speaker 6: cheer for whatever team Mac Collins is on came. Throughout
- 2:27Speaker 6: the years, I've collected a lot of teams Gears, the Raiders,
- 2:31Speaker 6: the Dolphins, the Patriots, now the Bills, stint with the Falcons.
- 2:36Speaker 6: This just happened to This was just in the rotation.
- 2:40Speaker 3: It was the only available shirt, is what you're saying, basically,
- 2:43Speaker 3: because the rest is in the laundry, right, I mean.
- 2:45Speaker 6: Correct, it wasn't the only available shirt, but it was
- 2:48Speaker 6: one of the last few remaining shirts.
- 2:51Speaker 5: You know what's do And sometimes even that, right, there
- 2:53Speaker 5: is a sign like sometimes you wake up in the
- 2:55Speaker 5: day and it's just like there's a sign your day's
- 2:58Speaker 5: going to be bad. And I kind of knew today,
- 3:00Speaker 5: maybe not bad, but weird because I woke up this
- 3:03Speaker 5: morning and my water flosster exploded in my face.
- 3:07Speaker 4: Wow.
- 3:08Speaker 5: And does your day ever really start well when it's
- 3:11Speaker 5: something exploded in your face? Put that on the pole,
- 3:13Speaker 5: tailor does your day ever start well when something explodes
- 3:16Speaker 5: in your face?
- 3:16Speaker 3: Here's what I'll tell you. It could only get better though,
- 3:20Speaker 3: That's it. I mean, it could only get better from there, right.
- 3:22Speaker 5: Well, then it got immediately worse because yeah, I mean,
- 3:26Speaker 5: I don't know how many people experience this, but probably
- 3:29Speaker 5: a lot.
- 3:30Speaker 7: Uh.
- 3:30Speaker 5: I got to the gym and I was the least
- 3:33Speaker 5: fit person in the room, and it made me very angry.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Welcome to my life, like all of our lives.
- 3:40Speaker 5: I was like, at least I can go to my getaway,
- 3:43Speaker 5: you know, my place where I don't have to think.
- 3:45Speaker 5: And I walk in and it's like, I don't know,
- 3:48Speaker 5: a fitness show, just like a muscle lifting show, and
- 3:50Speaker 5: I'm just like, what is going on today?
- 3:52Speaker 6: I was gonna ask who's in the room? Adonison and
- 3:55Speaker 6: rock bell Boat.
- 3:56Speaker 2: It was two.
- 3:57Speaker 5: People that I had to ask. Once they left, I
- 3:59Speaker 5: was like, are those two Florida Panthers players that I
- 4:01Speaker 5: don't recognize? Because that's ridiculous?
- 4:05Speaker 2: Is he call me?
- 4:06Speaker 4: When you're the least fit person that walks into a McDonald.
- 4:11Speaker 3: That's what you feel bad for? Exactly? You went Rocky?
- 4:15Speaker 2: There?
- 4:16Speaker 3: Is that what you did? Taylor? Rocky Balboa?
- 4:19Speaker 6: Yeah, Adonna's apollo, Creed's son. I went a little Creed too.
- 4:23Speaker 3: No, I realized that Adonna's was perfect. It's the Rocky Balboa.
- 4:27Speaker 3: I'm questioning Rodet for perhaps Rocky four. He was Chiseled.
- 4:33Speaker 3: I mean, listen, you go to Siberia and you work out,
- 4:36Speaker 3: you're trying to take down Drago. That's the best shape
- 4:39Speaker 3: Stallone has ever been in. I'm serious. It's the greatest
- 4:42Speaker 3: workout seed in the history of movies period. End of discussion.
- 4:46Speaker 3: It's just him and the elements. How about that?
- 4:50Speaker 5: And getting back to your your points to if you
- 4:52Speaker 5: went to Syracuse, I think you would still be this
- 4:56Speaker 5: level of successful broadcasting, which is wildly successful.
- 5:00Speaker 3: No, I've had a great ride, considering that I have
- 5:03Speaker 3: no schooling. In this a great ride. I'm just imagining
- 5:06Speaker 3: what kind of ride I would have had had I
- 5:09Speaker 3: had actual schooling. If I had facilities like this and
- 5:13Speaker 3: I had great teachers in a great alumni base that
- 5:15Speaker 3: I could work, how much better the career. But I
- 5:19Speaker 3: would say it's nearly impossible to top the career that
- 5:22Speaker 3: I've had doing this for over forty years. I replaced Colin.
- 5:26Speaker 5: Well, I'm not gonna right.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Well, listen, I mean he left. He was doing ten
- 5:31Speaker 3: to one at ESPN. We were doing afternoons. He left.
- 5:35Speaker 3: We took over that slot, and I do remember saying
- 5:38Speaker 3: on the air, I was trying because I wanted ten
- 5:41Speaker 3: to one. I think that's the best slot in radio,
- 5:45Speaker 3: especially for national radio, because stations taking inside the business.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Here local stations want to run their morning and afternoon drive.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Where you get the clearance is in the middays. Plus
- 5:55Speaker 3: you're done, your day is done at one o'clock. And
- 5:59Speaker 3: so I remember going out of my way telling Colin
- 6:03Speaker 3: on the air, not directly to him, although I know
- 6:05Speaker 3: Colin and I've spoken to him. I remember saying trying
- 6:09Speaker 3: to convince him to leave ESPN Radio, not because it
- 6:13Speaker 3: was good for him, but because it was good for me.
- 6:20Speaker 5: And I'm sure now.
- 6:23Speaker 3: And then what he did. I immediately and we took
- 6:26Speaker 3: over ten to one. I changed all my fantasy teams
- 6:29Speaker 3: to two pm t tot how about that?
- 6:32Speaker 5: And I'm sure he's so happy somewhere as we're starting
- 6:34Speaker 5: off filling in for him that we're going deep inside
- 6:36Speaker 5: radio right to start?
- 6:38Speaker 3: Yes? Is he okay? By the way, Colin loves to
- 6:40Speaker 3: go deep inside radio. He does. He was talking about
- 6:42Speaker 3: the industry and the business. Yeah, is Colin okay? There
- 6:46Speaker 3: was like he was transportation. There was an accident, you know,
- 6:50Speaker 3: we we failed to make the joke yesterday when we
- 6:52Speaker 3: found out he was supposed to join us. That Colin
- 6:54Speaker 3: heard the news that we were filling in and he
- 6:56Speaker 3: drove his car off the road.
- 7:00Speaker 6: So I believe Colin was on a train yesterday. Okay,
- 7:03Speaker 6: he takes a train to his car, but Colin Colin
- 7:06Speaker 6: is okay, this was already a scheduled off day. The
- 7:10Speaker 6: hiccup yesterday was I believe his train hit a car
- 7:15Speaker 6: or a car hit his train, and then Colin had
- 7:18Speaker 6: to get an uber from said train station and he
- 7:22Speaker 6: was gonna miss the time that he was supposed to join.
- 7:24Speaker 6: But that's neither here nor there. He was never supposed
- 7:26Speaker 6: to be in today regardless. But I'm curious how his
- 7:30Speaker 6: listeners are listening to the show and be like, these
- 7:32Speaker 6: guys are ever gonna get to basketball?
- 7:33Speaker 3: Where's the hay on?
- 7:35Speaker 5: This is not what I come to the Herd for.
- 7:38Speaker 3: We're gonna get to Sean McDonough in a couple of minutes.
- 7:41Speaker 3: We will get to basketball right now. In fact, Jason
- 7:44Speaker 3: E p Jason back in Sherman Oaks. If we have
- 7:46Speaker 3: that Draymond Green sound again when he was on the
- 7:49Speaker 3: set with Charles Barkley, I want to play it for
- 7:51Speaker 3: the audience. I want to ask Israel gudyeiras a question,
- 7:55Speaker 3: A difficult, a tricky question for Israel. Goudy Era is
- 7:58Speaker 3: coming up after we play this out. Here's Raymond Green
- 8:01Speaker 3: on the set of T and T with Charles Barkley.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Sports are for young people.
- 8:07Speaker 5: You hope to have a great, long career, but sports
- 8:11Speaker 5: nobody wins when they're thirty seven, thirty eight. That you
- 8:14Speaker 5: said what you said, I didn't want to hear if
- 8:16Speaker 5: he believes what you're talking.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I think the goal is just to
- 8:21Speaker 3: not look like you in the.
- 8:22Speaker 4: Houston Rockets uniform.
- 8:23Speaker 6: Yeah, it's ultimately the goal for us, Like we don't want.
- 8:26Speaker 3: To What does that look like?
- 8:29Speaker 4: Did you see it? I'm just asking I saw it?
- 8:35Speaker 3: Is he? Here's the question for you. I realized, Raymond,
- 8:39Speaker 3: people don't like him. I get it. He's annoying. He
- 8:42Speaker 3: won't stop talking. That's not the thing to say to
- 8:45Speaker 3: Charles Barkley when you're sitting on his show, on his
- 8:48Speaker 3: set being interviewed by those guys. Okay, it's not right.
- 8:52Speaker 3: But I asked you this question because I had this.
- 8:55Speaker 3: You know, I had this debate years ago with LeBatard
- 8:59Speaker 3: about who whose career do you think Barkley would rather
- 9:02Speaker 3: have his own were Robert Orriy's. And then we got
- 9:06Speaker 3: Big Shot Bob on the show and he said he
- 9:08Speaker 3: would rather have Charles Barkley's career than his own career.
- 9:12Speaker 3: But Draymond Green is a lot better historically in terms
- 9:18Speaker 3: of career than Robert Orriy. He is, He's a Hall
- 9:21Speaker 3: of Famer, He's considered one of the great defensive players
- 9:24Speaker 3: we've ever seen in the NBA, and he has won
- 9:27Speaker 3: four rings. So I ask you, this is he who's
- 9:30Speaker 3: you set out your entire life, you work, you want
- 9:33Speaker 3: to play in the NBA, and you get there. Whose
- 9:36Speaker 3: career would you rather have Draymond Green's or Charles Barkley's.
- 9:42Speaker 5: Well, this one isn't really tricky to me anyway, because, okay,
- 9:46Speaker 5: I'll ask you this. I'll answer a question with a question.
- 9:48Speaker 5: Is that a cowhard thing? I'm not one hundred percent sure.
- 9:50Speaker 5: If it is, I'm sorry for stealing his thing. Does
- 9:54Speaker 5: Draymond Green seem happy to you?
- 9:56Speaker 8: No?
- 9:57Speaker 5: Doesn't he seem defensive at all times? Doesn't he Isn't
- 10:01Speaker 5: he the guy who is constantly still still being criticized
- 10:05Speaker 5: or being called Steph Curry's backpack. Yep, you think he's
- 10:09Speaker 5: happy about that. You think the four rings really really
- 10:13Speaker 5: make him happy when he sits there every single day
- 10:16Speaker 5: and has to defend himself against people who call him
- 10:19Speaker 5: a glorified role player, against people who say that we
- 10:22Speaker 5: leave you wide open all the time. There's a reason
- 10:24Speaker 5: for that, Steve Martin. And there's no chance that he
- 10:32Speaker 5: is completely satisfied with who he is. I'm sorry, Taylor.
- 10:36Speaker 5: First segment, that's rough, by the.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Way, tell the audience what we were doing a bit
- 10:43Speaker 3: and Steve Martin's We were talking about great prop comics
- 10:46Speaker 3: of all time and someone said Steve Martin. I said it,
- 10:48Speaker 3: you know, three names later, and now it's become a
- 10:51Speaker 3: running joke on the show.
- 10:52Speaker 5: Anyway, go ahead, So if you repeat what somebody just said,
- 10:54Speaker 5: you're just Steve Martin, Steve Morton. But now go to
- 10:59Speaker 5: Charles Barkley, right. And while Charles Barkley was an angry
- 11:03Speaker 5: player right, threw people out of a bar window, I
- 11:06Speaker 5: believe was a guy who always stood up for himself.
- 11:11Speaker 5: He seems pretty happy, like he seems pretty satisfied with
- 11:14Speaker 5: his life. Like I mean, this is what I was
- 11:16Speaker 5: talking about yesterday when I said you know, whether you're
- 11:18Speaker 5: Klay Thompson, who is like bragging about having four rings
- 11:22Speaker 5: after a breakup, which those two aren't even on the
- 11:24Speaker 5: same playing field. And then you've got Draymond Green thinking
- 11:28Speaker 5: that his four rings can allow him to be disrespectful
- 11:31Speaker 5: to a legend like Charles Barkley. The rings don't define
- 11:35Speaker 5: who you are. It's the same way that Draymond Green
- 11:37Speaker 5: is not going to be the next Charles Barkley of
- 11:40Speaker 5: broadcasting because those four rings aren't gonna make him entertaining.
- 11:44Speaker 5: Like he's a good basketball, you know, analyst. He can
- 11:48Speaker 5: tell you stuff, you know that they'll tell you when
- 11:50Speaker 5: the coaches huddle, but he's not gonna entertain you. That
- 11:53Speaker 5: whole Charles Barkley thing was probably supposed to be a
- 11:55Speaker 5: joke that just didn't land, and he just tried to,
- 11:57Speaker 5: you know, go past it. Kenny Smith was trying to
- 11:59Speaker 5: make it funny, but it really wasn't funny. And so
- 12:02Speaker 5: in that same respect, I would much rather have Charles
- 12:05Speaker 5: Barkley's career and say, look me, as an individual, did
- 12:09Speaker 5: all I can do. It's a team sport, it's not tennis.
- 12:13Speaker 5: I'm not a failure. And so if you want to
- 12:15Speaker 5: call me a failure because Michael Jordan wins six and
- 12:17Speaker 5: zero in the finals. Great, that's you creating the ring
- 12:21Speaker 5: culture and making it even worse than it already is
- 12:24Speaker 5: by saying you're a failure. Right, So I'd much rather
- 12:27Speaker 5: have Charles Barkley's career. You know what they say in basketball,
- 12:31Speaker 5: stew gats right when you're talking smack to each other.
- 12:34Speaker 5: The one thing that you could really land on. Hey,
- 12:36Speaker 5: if I play you one on one, I'm gonna kick
- 12:38Speaker 5: your butt, right, Draymond Green's not kicking Charles Barkley's anything, Okay,
- 12:42Speaker 5: Draymond Green, and one on one will struggle to score
- 12:44Speaker 5: against Charles Barkley, even a forty year old Charles Barkley,
- 12:48Speaker 5: is he?
- 12:48Speaker 3: There were times, though, during Barkley's playing career where people
- 12:51Speaker 3: would say the same thing. He doesn't appear to be happy.
- 12:53Speaker 3: He's mad, he's angry, he's not winny titles. He's in Philadelphia.
- 12:58Speaker 3: He wants to get out of Philadelphia. Eventually did. He
- 13:00Speaker 3: went to Phoenix. He led that team to the NBA
- 13:02Speaker 3: Finals and lost to Michael Jordan. Because everyone did.
- 13:07Speaker 5: So, but he was trying to get there. Draymond already
- 13:10Speaker 5: reached the time at four different times, but it's still unhappy.
- 13:13Speaker 3: My point in saying all that is, I think where
- 13:15Speaker 3: you've seen Barkley be the happiest is with his post career.
- 13:19Speaker 3: No one was expecting, not even Charles, for him to
- 13:22Speaker 3: turn into what he's turned into in his post NBA career,
- 13:25Speaker 3: which is maybe the biggest media member we have going.
- 13:29Speaker 3: I mean, he has carte blanche. He could say whatever
- 13:30Speaker 3: he wants with no ramifications whatsoever. And Draymond said something
- 13:34Speaker 3: to him, and Barkley got upset about it, and everyone
- 13:37Speaker 3: is outraged about it coming from the guy who, for
- 13:39Speaker 3: his entire career has said anything he's wanted to say.
- 13:42Speaker 3: If you could take all the personality stuff and just
- 13:44Speaker 3: put it aside for a second resume, side by side
- 13:48Speaker 3: you went to the NBA, would you rather have Barkley's
- 13:51Speaker 3: career take all the other stuff out of it or
- 13:53Speaker 3: Draymond Green? Because I'd rather have Draymond Green's.
- 13:56Speaker 5: It's still Barkley. It's still Barkley. If you're asking me,
- 13:58Speaker 5: would I rather have Steph Kurry his career at Charles
- 14:00Speaker 5: Barkley on here? They have Steph Curry's, But I would
- 14:03Speaker 5: rather be Barkley as an individual. It doesn't matter about
- 14:06Speaker 5: my personality as an individual if I say I've exhausted
- 14:09Speaker 5: not only my ability one thousand percent, and it happened
- 14:14Speaker 5: to be one of the best at that in the game.
- 14:17Speaker 5: I've done everything I could. Dan Marino's not losing sleep
- 14:21Speaker 5: because a GM couldn't get him a running back in
- 14:23Speaker 5: the defense. He was the greatest.
- 14:25Speaker 6: I think the Draymond Green Charles Barkley conversation is further
- 14:30Speaker 6: proof that ring culture has gotten completely out of control.
- 14:34Speaker 6: And the most ironic part about ring culture being out
- 14:37Speaker 6: of control is on this show we have the Tim Robinson.
- 14:41Speaker 6: We're all trying to find the guy who got ring
- 14:43Speaker 6: culture out of control, looking right back at us at Studiott's.
- 14:47Speaker 3: It's so true. Yeah, but I want you to think
- 14:51Speaker 3: about this, Okay. If I told you, okay, you could
- 14:54Speaker 3: be Player A, who's defensive Player of the Year. He's
- 14:57Speaker 3: going to the Hall of Fame, he plays on legendary
- 15:00Speaker 3: teams with Stephan Clay and he wins four titles. Or
- 15:03Speaker 3: you could be Player B, doesn't win a ring but
- 15:06Speaker 3: is considered one of the twenty greatest NBA players of
- 15:09Speaker 3: all time. Which career tailor honestly, which career would you take?
- 15:12Speaker 3: Because I take Draymond's.
- 15:14Speaker 6: Let me flip this back to you. Player A has
- 15:17Speaker 6: eleven rings and is a Hall of Famer. Player B
- 15:20Speaker 6: is a Hall of Famer and has six rings. Whose
- 15:22Speaker 6: career would you rather have?
- 15:23Speaker 4: Uh?
- 15:24Speaker 3: Eleven? Uh?
- 15:25Speaker 9: No?
- 15:25Speaker 4: Six?
- 15:25Speaker 6: I'm sorry, got him over Michael Jordan's.
- 15:30Speaker 3: You know, yeah, the rule of the show is if
- 15:34Speaker 3: I correct myself before you speak again, then I correct myself,
- 15:37Speaker 3: and I'm right Jordan's career. Yes.
- 15:40Speaker 5: Do you know where you'll never find? Draymond made that
- 15:42Speaker 5: up on one of those graphics that say who's gonna
- 15:44Speaker 5: beat this squad? He's never going to be on those ever.
- 15:50Speaker 3: They don't play one on one though.
- 15:53Speaker 5: It doesn't matter, No, no, no, it doesn't matter. I'm saying,
- 15:56Speaker 5: like you know, U c O. It's Steph, it's Michael,
- 15:58Speaker 5: it's Lebron, it Tim Duncan, and it's Shack versus Magic Johnson,
- 16:05Speaker 5: you know, Reggie Miller. And he's never going to be
- 16:07Speaker 5: on that graphic because people don't think of him as
- 16:09Speaker 5: one of the greats. He's a great defender and a
- 16:12Speaker 5: great role player on a great team who has a
- 16:15Speaker 5: large mouth.
- 16:16Speaker 6: I'm not sure how good Shack would be as a
- 16:18Speaker 6: one on one player, because you would think he would
- 16:21Speaker 6: have a tough time defending some people like Lebron for me,
- 16:26Speaker 6: first ballot, one on one Hall of Fame, Carmelo Anthony.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Really wow, better than Jordan, is what you're saying. That's
- 16:34Speaker 3: what you're doing there, I mean one on one, I
- 16:36Speaker 3: mean iverson.
- 16:38Speaker 6: Jordans best player of all time. Carmelo Anthony best bucket
- 16:43Speaker 6: getter of all time.
- 16:45Speaker 5: That's tough, man. You know what, whenever I get to
- 16:50Speaker 5: choose my Mount Rushmore Unday topic, it will be uh
- 16:55Speaker 5: basket getters.
- 16:56Speaker 4: Of all time?
- 16:57Speaker 3: Okay, yes, Mike? Is it just me?
- 16:59Speaker 4: Or or was that a heat check by Taylor?
- 17:02Speaker 9: That take?
- 17:02Speaker 4: Right? There was Taylor chucking one up. Let's just see
- 17:05Speaker 4: if I'm going to drain him from half court.

- 18:43Speaker 3: So, mikey, I told my friend Sean McDonough I was
- 18:45Speaker 3: doing the show today from the New House School. He
- 18:48Speaker 3: graduated from Syracuse University, the New House School. He's very
- 18:51Speaker 3: proud of that, and he has concerns that I'm going
- 18:54Speaker 3: to tarnish the good name here of the New House
- 18:56Speaker 3: School at Syracuse, Like, how am I arriving at the
- 18:59Speaker 3: same place where you graduated from, Sean McDonough.
- 19:01Speaker 8: Well, I'm glad to see you finally got in a
- 19:04Speaker 8: new house. You know that this would be the only
- 19:06Speaker 8: way that you were able to do it. You know,
- 19:10Speaker 8: I'm glad to see that beautiful s orange s behind you.
- 19:14Speaker 9: And it's quite a facility, isn't it.
- 19:16Speaker 8: In all seriousness, I mean, you can see why young
- 19:20Speaker 8: people want to go there in droves, because you know,
- 19:23Speaker 8: not only is there the great history, and there's a
- 19:25Speaker 8: great program, but the facilities now are top shelf as well.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Oh they're amazing. I was telling the folks and the
- 19:30Speaker 3: folks who work here are incredible. I was telling Olivia
- 19:33Speaker 3: who you know, that if I had these kinds of facilities,
- 19:36Speaker 3: I'd actually be good at this.
- 19:38Speaker 9: I mean, Olivia is the best.
- 19:42Speaker 8: Olivia Stompsky, who runs the New House Sports Media Center
- 19:45Speaker 8: up there, does a great job.
- 19:47Speaker 9: You know.
- 19:47Speaker 8: I've talked to a lot of students over the years
- 19:50Speaker 8: who realize how blessed they are to have.
- 19:52Speaker 9: Her leading the program too.
- 19:54Speaker 8: She's another big part of the reason why it's such
- 19:57Speaker 8: a popular program.
- 19:58Speaker 3: So I'm up here for my daughter's graduation. What do
- 20:01Speaker 3: you remember about your graduation, Shaw McDonough, I remember.
- 20:04Speaker 8: Yeah, pretty much went straight there from whatever we were
- 20:08Speaker 8: doing the night before.
- 20:13Speaker 3: I'm certain you did.
- 20:14Speaker 8: Yeah, I'm pretty sure we did. You know, I remember
- 20:17Speaker 8: several things. Actually shockingly, Dan Rather was the speaker, right,
- 20:21Speaker 8: and you know, he was terrific, and he said several
- 20:25Speaker 8: things I remember, one of which was the most important
- 20:30Speaker 8: thing I'm going to paraphrase this in life is sincerity,
- 20:35Speaker 8: and as soon as you learn how to fake that
- 20:38Speaker 8: you're all sad.
- 20:41Speaker 3: You got strong enough from a credible news anchor.
- 20:45Speaker 9: Yeah, exactly right.
- 20:47Speaker 8: So every time I go up there to that beautiful
- 20:49Speaker 8: campus where you are right now, and I speak to
- 20:52Speaker 8: broadcasting students, I always say the most important thing in
- 20:55Speaker 8: broadcasting is sincerity oz pause, pause, and as soon as
- 20:59Speaker 8: you learn how to fake that, you're all set. And
- 21:01Speaker 8: they all look at me like it's a joke.
- 21:04Speaker 9: People, it's a joke. So but I remember the other thing.
- 21:10Speaker 8: I remember my dear departed dad, you know, the late
- 21:14Speaker 8: great Will McDonough was a great friend of Al Davis,
- 21:18Speaker 8: you know, the legendary football man, best known for being
- 21:22Speaker 8: the Raiders owner. And when I went to Syracuse there
- 21:26Speaker 8: he called a great friend to his doctor, Luke Laporta,
- 21:29Speaker 8: who was high up in the development office, and said,
- 21:33Speaker 8: this kid, Sean mcdonn is going there. You need to
- 21:35Speaker 8: take great care of him while he's theres. I wasn't
- 21:37Speaker 8: on campus for a day. The hall of phone ring,
- 21:40Speaker 8: some kid knocks on my door. You McDonough, you.
- 21:42Speaker 9: Have a call on the house phone, Like, who's calling me?
- 21:44Speaker 8: I don't know, Sean. This is Luke Laporta. I'm a
- 21:46Speaker 8: great friend of Al Davis. He told me to take
- 21:49Speaker 8: great care of you. Come down and see me as
- 21:50Speaker 8: soon as you can. So I went down to see him,
- 21:53Speaker 8: and for four years Luke was you know, took care
- 21:55Speaker 8: of me, and everybody's like my godfather there, including in
- 21:58Speaker 8: graduation when he got my family, including my dad a
- 22:03Speaker 8: sweet in the carrier. Don't then the carrier, don't now
- 22:07Speaker 8: or so Dan Rather at one point said well, you know,
- 22:10Speaker 8: stand up and wave at your parents and salute your parents,
- 22:13Speaker 8: and you know it's a big dome.
- 22:15Speaker 9: So most of my buddies I.
- 22:16Speaker 8: Sent with I don't know where my parents and I
- 22:18Speaker 8: was like, well, I know where my family is because
- 22:20Speaker 8: they're at the big shot box that Luke got us
- 22:22Speaker 8: right there. Thank you, Al Davis. So I remember that
- 22:25Speaker 8: from my commencement as well. That's about it. The congratulations to.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Your daughter, thank you.
- 22:31Speaker 8: He's had a great experience there because everybody does. And
- 22:34Speaker 8: congratulations to you because you just got about a ninety
- 22:37Speaker 8: thousand dollars a year raise.
- 22:38Speaker 3: I'm guessing, yes, I look forward to those bills no
- 22:43Speaker 3: longer coming to my email.
- 22:44Speaker 8: Yes, I barely made it through Syracuse financially back then
- 22:49Speaker 8: when it was a lot, you know, less expensive when
- 22:51Speaker 8: we were passing the dinosaurs on campus on the way
- 22:54Speaker 8: to class, when they were still roaming the earth. And
- 22:57Speaker 8: I wouldn't have gotten through where it not for the
- 22:58Speaker 8: great help of our late great football coach Dick McPherson.
- 23:01Speaker 9: But that's a story for another time.
- 23:03Speaker 3: Okay, I will ask you that story at a different time.
- 23:07Speaker 3: I am wondering here. So t Rico's doing the commencement speech.
- 23:10Speaker 3: I'm excited for that. I have been texting.
- 23:12Speaker 8: He's got a boring year, nothing's happening.
- 23:15Speaker 3: This will be the least exciting the.
- 23:18Speaker 9: Olympics.
- 23:20Speaker 8: He needed something to kind of live it up his
- 23:22Speaker 8: ear a little bit.
- 23:24Speaker 3: He hasn't had enough.
- 23:25Speaker 8: Right, he'll do a terrific job. I do hope that
- 23:27Speaker 8: they have, you know, some sort of large step stool
- 23:31Speaker 8: for him to stand on so you can see the podium.
- 23:33Speaker 8: But he will, he will do a fantastic job.
- 23:36Speaker 3: Fantastic Is that how it works? So like Syracuse Syracuse
- 23:40Speaker 3: ALAM New House alumni, they can only make fun of
- 23:43Speaker 3: each other. But if God forbid, Mike Greenberg said that
- 23:46Speaker 3: about Mike to Rico, there would be a fight. Right.
- 23:49Speaker 9: It's you know, when it comes from people from other universities.
- 23:52Speaker 9: It's just jealousy, all right. I say that to Mike
- 23:57Speaker 9: od of love.
- 23:58Speaker 8: He's a dear friend, but I do love like we
- 24:00Speaker 8: all got together up there last fall for the Marty
- 24:03Speaker 8: Glickman Award ceremony, and it was Mike and I an eagle,
- 24:07Speaker 8: and Marv and Bob Costas. I felt like Wilt Chamberlain.
- 24:13Speaker 8: I am five nine and a quarter and I tower
- 24:17Speaker 8: over that. So there must have been something in the
- 24:20Speaker 8: water up there that stunted our growth.
- 24:23Speaker 3: But you were broke over being as maternity that you're
- 24:28Speaker 3: really proudly you know.
- 24:29Speaker 8: When you get up there and Olivia says to you,
- 24:31Speaker 8: you're gonna be on a panel with Marv and Bob
- 24:33Speaker 8: and I an eagle, You're like three apples in an orange,
- 24:36Speaker 8: which one of us doesn't belong here, you know, but
- 24:39Speaker 8: I'm happy to be included.
- 24:41Speaker 3: You'll take any room in which you're the tallest person
- 24:43Speaker 3: in that I should say three oranges and an apple,
- 24:45Speaker 3: right right, yes, yes, So how long? So I've been
- 24:50Speaker 3: texting withinto Rico and trying to negotiate a shorter speech.
- 24:55Speaker 8: There's no chances, there's no chance you've see the way
- 24:59Speaker 8: Mike prepares for everything, you know.
- 25:01Speaker 9: And I've jabbed him a few times over.
- 25:03Speaker 8: There's one time he was doing the Orange Bowl and
- 25:06Speaker 8: I think it was Stanford. I had been Jim harboss
- 25:08Speaker 8: last game in Stanford, and Conda Leeza Rice, you know,
- 25:10Speaker 8: faculty member in Stanford, was on the sideline. They showed
- 25:13Speaker 8: her and Mike was doing the game and he said,
- 25:15Speaker 8: there's the sixty sixth Secretary of State of the United
- 25:19Speaker 8: ANIMI who knows the numb I mean, we all barely
- 25:22Speaker 8: know what number of the presidents are and so the
- 25:27Speaker 8: details now you're just showing off like that's a bunch
- 25:29Speaker 8: of bs. Right, So he will be very well prepared,
- 25:33Speaker 8: and I would not bet on it being brief. It'll
- 25:36Speaker 8: be great, it'll be insightful, it'll be interesting, funny, I'm sure,
- 25:40Speaker 8: but I would I would take the over on brevity.
- 25:43Speaker 3: Okay over thirty minutes you sir?
- 25:45Speaker 8: Yeah, were's some comfortable clothing. Well, I don't know whatever
- 25:48Speaker 8: they told him to be. I'm sure he'll be right
- 25:52Speaker 8: on time because he's probably rehearsed it ten times to
- 25:55Speaker 8: make sure it's right on time. Yes, I do one commencement, well,
- 25:59Speaker 8: I'll two. I couldn't do the one right, I was
- 26:01Speaker 8: asked to do this year, but I did one for
- 26:06Speaker 8: Southern Vermont College.
- 26:08Speaker 3: Oh.
- 26:08Speaker 8: I told me, we'd like you to speak for twenty
- 26:10Speaker 8: to twenty five minutes. I'm like, no one wants. I
- 26:12Speaker 8: don't want to hear myself speak for twenty to twenty
- 26:15Speaker 8: So I got into about fifteen minutes. And it was
- 26:18Speaker 8: on this hillside in Bennington, Vermont.
- 26:21Speaker 9: So there were.
- 26:22Speaker 8: People that were there was a tent, and some people
- 26:25Speaker 8: were in the tent, like the president of the school
- 26:28Speaker 8: and some other people. And then but there were a
- 26:30Speaker 8: lot of people on the hillslope and I couldn't see
- 26:32Speaker 8: all of them because they went up the hill. And
- 26:34Speaker 8: I'm already thinking in my mind, this speech is too long.
- 26:37Speaker 8: I knew I shouldn't have tried to go for twenty
- 26:39Speaker 8: minutes whatever. And all of a sudden I heard and
- 26:42Speaker 8: it was a thunderstorm. Was people were running down the
- 26:45Speaker 8: hill into the tent, and I said, literally, this is
- 26:48Speaker 8: God's way of telling me this speech is too long.
- 26:50Speaker 8: Good luck, congratulations, I'm sure you'll all do great. Let's
- 26:53Speaker 8: give them their diplomas. Done so, and then my question
- 26:59Speaker 8: to you guys is you know I've got the Doctor
- 27:03Speaker 8: of Humane Letters. I got all the whatever you call
- 27:06Speaker 8: the outfit with the hat and the tassel, and the
- 27:11Speaker 8: college went out of business, which is probably why I
- 27:16Speaker 8: have not been invited to only one other school since.
- 27:20Speaker 8: So am I still a Doctor of Humane Letters?
- 27:24Speaker 3: Wow? For a school that doesn't exist anymore.
- 27:26Speaker 9: School that it existed at the time.
- 27:28Speaker 8: Yes, I mean, God, for been Harvard went out of business,
- 27:31Speaker 8: you'd still be a Harvard grad, right, I mean, that's
- 27:33Speaker 8: at least that's what I'm going with.
- 27:36Speaker 3: It's Mikey, what do you think. It's a great question.
- 27:38Speaker 3: Do you have a ruling here?
- 27:39Speaker 4: No, they can't take that away from you. You have it.
- 27:41Speaker 4: It's it's yours.
- 27:42Speaker 3: Yeah, they can't take that from here.
- 27:44Speaker 9: They can take the school, have the hat. I'm claiming it.
- 27:50Speaker 3: You're kissing death, but done up.
- 27:52Speaker 9: I know. I put the school out of business.
- 27:54Speaker 8: My friend who had just invited me to speak at
- 27:58Speaker 8: another commencement, which I can't do because it's next weekend
- 28:00Speaker 8: and we're gonna be in the middle of the hockey playoffs,
- 28:03Speaker 8: I said, I'm very honored. In the interest of full disclosure,
- 28:07Speaker 8: the only school I did this for went out of business.
- 28:10Speaker 8: So how's the financial health of your school. You know,
- 28:14Speaker 8: we possibly survive the fact that I'm going to be
- 28:17Speaker 8: your commencement speaker and the history is not good.
- 28:20Speaker 11: Yes, Sean, it's said to me as a Yankee fan,
- 28:23Speaker 11: what's become of the Red Sox? Because I missed the
- 28:25Speaker 11: rivalry our our executive producer, there was no need to
- 28:29Speaker 11: say that.
- 28:30Speaker 3: I mean it was need.
- 28:33Speaker 9: Now we wouldn't be listening to this going.
- 28:36Speaker 11: Somewhere with I was going somewhere with it if you
- 28:39Speaker 11: let me, if you didn't interrupt me, I.
- 28:43Speaker 4: No, Stu got's interrupted me. You just talked.
- 28:47Speaker 11: Our Taylor, our executive producer. Uh could not root for
- 28:52Speaker 11: Roman Anthony during the World Baseball Classic, like what he
- 28:56Speaker 11: was rooting for Team USA until Roman Anthony got up
- 28:59Speaker 11: and then he earned his back on.
- 29:02Speaker 8: That then he became he became a Mexican.
- 29:07Speaker 3: Yes, but I imagine I do imagine Red Sox fans maybe
- 29:10Speaker 3: did the same thing to Aaron Judge, Like they wanted
- 29:12Speaker 3: USA to win, but they didn't want to hurt Judge.
- 29:14Speaker 8: Would the reason hit they wanted to hit him to
- 29:17Speaker 8: take a fast ball off the helmet and then get
- 29:19Speaker 8: to get hurt.
- 29:20Speaker 9: I don't know. I was cheering for all of them.
- 29:23Speaker 3: Yes, me too.
- 29:24Speaker 8: I'm not allowed to say this, but uh, you know,
- 29:27Speaker 8: I do not wish ill upon the Yankees because I
- 29:31Speaker 8: did at least one season of Monday Night Baseball. I
- 29:33Speaker 8: think too, with Aaron Boone, who is as decent a
- 29:37Speaker 8: human being as I've ever met doing this. I mean,
- 29:39Speaker 8: I've worked with over one hundred people. I think it's
- 29:42Speaker 8: one hundred and fifty different people, analysts, Sideline report, hosts, whatever,
- 29:47Speaker 8: in all these different sports, and Aaron Boone is at
- 29:50Speaker 8: the top of the list. I mean, he is a
- 29:52Speaker 8: great guy. I think he's a really smart baseball guy.
- 29:56Speaker 8: I know Yankee fans like to dump on him, and
- 29:57Speaker 8: there's a lot of people who thought he shouldn't be
- 29:59Speaker 8: back this year, but you know, maybe this is their year.
- 30:02Speaker 8: But yeah, so I don't I don't wish any ill
- 30:06Speaker 8: upon the Yankees because I'm a huge.
- 30:09Speaker 4: Aaron Boone fan.
- 30:10Speaker 3: All Right, we're gonna get you John Sterling, by the way,
- 30:13Speaker 3: Oh yes, yes, yeah. We had Mike Francesa on talking
- 30:17Speaker 3: about John Sterling and what he meant to that fan
- 30:19Speaker 3: base and just what it's like. Sean. It's incredible the
- 30:22Speaker 3: impact you could have, especially on a fan base like yours.
- 30:25Speaker 3: They they love John Sterling. I'm certain Boston fans love you.
- 30:29Speaker 3: But did you have any interactions with John Sterling.
- 30:31Speaker 8: I'm sure you've clenty it over all these years. You know,
- 30:34Speaker 8: he did it for thirty six years, and I was
- 30:35Speaker 8: around the Red Sox for a lot of those.
- 30:37Speaker 9: You know, he was just, uh, I read the.
- 30:40Speaker 8: Word eccentric, eccentricities, you know a lot of the articles
- 30:44Speaker 8: and tributes, and you know that's really true. You know,
- 30:48Speaker 8: he was a He was a real character in a
- 30:50Speaker 8: world that is increasingly devoid of characters. And he just
- 30:55Speaker 8: always seemed to me to be a guy who was
- 30:58Speaker 8: always performing. You know, like even in a conversation, regular conversation.
- 31:02Speaker 8: You'd be walking down the hallway in the press box
- 31:04Speaker 8: and Fenway or Yankee Stadium, and you know, it was
- 31:09Speaker 8: he didn't.
- 31:09Speaker 9: Just walk up, Hey, how you doing.
- 31:10Speaker 8: It was always hello, Shannie, you know, in that voice,
- 31:13Speaker 8: and you know it was kind of theatrical, and you
- 31:18Speaker 8: know you saw it in all the tributes the last
- 31:20Speaker 8: few days. I think everybody who knew John really appreciated him.
- 31:23Speaker 8: He had a great heart and you know, obviously a
- 31:26Speaker 8: legendary career when they start asking out loud, should announcers
- 31:30Speaker 8: be in monument park. I think that says a lot
- 31:32Speaker 8: about the impact that he had.
- 31:35Speaker 3: We're going to get you out of here in just
- 31:36Speaker 3: a second. I know you have to go golfing.
- 31:38Speaker 9: I think you're a getting the hook I saw you
- 31:40Speaker 9: to given like Olivia or somebody.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Well, you know, Olivia is just being patient with me.
- 31:44Speaker 3: She's making sure that we're connected to the radio station
- 31:46Speaker 3: here because I had.
- 31:46Speaker 8: To Oh, well that's important. Yes, yes, this is important,
- 31:50Speaker 8: but you have bigger fish to fry.
- 31:52Speaker 3: No, no, I don't have bigger fish to fry. This
- 31:54Speaker 3: is important. Though. The question I'm about to ask you
- 31:56Speaker 3: was what's important? Okay, Mikey knows. We started playing this
- 31:59Speaker 3: game around here called one Table. So there's one table
- 32:04Speaker 3: in the restaurant, and Tom Brady in his prime, walks
- 32:08Speaker 3: in round. Any time, it's Tom Brady. Okay, I'm trying
- 32:12Speaker 3: to think of the per I'm gonna go, Oh, Mike,
- 32:14Speaker 3: he wants me to go Poppy. I'm gonna go Tom Brady,
- 32:17Speaker 3: Larry Bird. They both walk in, one table is left.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Who gets the table?
- 32:24Speaker 8: Uh?
- 32:25Speaker 9: Now that happened today?
- 32:27Speaker 3: Yeah, well yes, today today it's a tough one.
- 32:32Speaker 9: Yeah, I'd say it's a really tough one.
- 32:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:36Speaker 4: Tom Brady is kind of.
- 32:39Speaker 9: Checked anybody off.
- 32:40Speaker 8: Yeah, whereas you know, Tom, I don't begrudge Tom the
- 32:44Speaker 8: right to leave or you know, in some ways he
- 32:47Speaker 8: was kind of shoved out right and go win.
- 32:50Speaker 9: I think he proved his point.
- 32:51Speaker 8: You know, if we're talking about who was the most
- 32:53Speaker 8: important person to the Patriots success, all this year's Brady
- 32:56Speaker 8: belichicker Craft when he left and went to Tampa Bay
- 33:00Speaker 8: and won a Super Bowl. Okay, could we stop having
- 33:02Speaker 8: that conversation, you know, and and the whole Belichick record
- 33:06Speaker 8: with Brady without you know, at a certain point you
- 33:10Speaker 8: know that that's not a coincidence either. So uh, you know,
- 33:13Speaker 8: I think Tom's a great guy. I had the great
- 33:16Speaker 8: pleasure of playing a lot of golf with his dad
- 33:18Speaker 8: right here at Boston Golf Club, where his dad was
- 33:22Speaker 8: a national member and much loved great guy Tom Brady seniors.
- 33:27Speaker 8: So I you know, I think they probably find a
- 33:30Speaker 8: table for both of them. They probably say, hey, mcdonna,
- 33:33Speaker 8: you have to go both of these guys, and I
- 33:37Speaker 8: bet they'd sit together, right, because they're both kind of
- 33:40Speaker 8: guy who probably enjoy the hell out of each other's
- 33:43Speaker 8: company and conversation.
- 33:44Speaker 3: Yes, all right, show we appreciate it. As always. I'll
- 33:47Speaker 3: try to keep this place intact for you and try
- 33:50Speaker 3: not to ruin anything that you guys have created here,
- 33:52Speaker 3: because it's a wonderful facility. I don't belong here. I
- 33:56Speaker 3: feel ashamed here.
- 33:57Speaker 8: Yes, well, clearly you didn't belong there many years ago
- 33:59Speaker 8: when you applied and didn't get in. But the thank
- 34:02Speaker 8: god your daughter is really sharp and really talented.
- 34:05Speaker 9: Not the great things, and uh no, it's great to
- 34:08Speaker 9: see up there and enjoy it. You know.
- 34:10Speaker 8: Not only is the new House school awesome and world renowned,
- 34:13Speaker 8: but it's a beautiful campus. You know, people think, oh,
- 34:16Speaker 8: it's a city school, and it's not a city school.
- 34:18Speaker 9: It's up on that hill. We can see the trees
- 34:19Speaker 9: behind you. It's uh it was a It's as.
- 34:23Speaker 8: Important as really anything that's ever happened in my life.
- 34:25Speaker 8: We're very close to it the time that I spent there,
- 34:28Speaker 8: and it remains a very special place to me and
- 34:30Speaker 8: it always will.
- 34:31Speaker 9: I'm glad you're that.
- 34:32Speaker 3: Yeah, that's awesome. My daughter's had a wonderful four years here.
- 34:35Speaker 3: It's been a great place for me, my family, to
- 34:37Speaker 3: come visit, so I'm glad to listen. I get why
- 34:41Speaker 3: you guys love it so much. I do haven't come here.
- 34:43Speaker 8: Whatever people ask me, friends of mine say, hey, my
- 34:45Speaker 8: daughter's considering going to serrocause, my son, my nephew, whatever,
- 34:48Speaker 8: I always say, well, I never know. I never knew
- 34:50Speaker 8: anybody who went there and didn't love it, you know,
- 34:52Speaker 8: and I think we're all really proud of it and
- 34:55Speaker 8: have a great time.
- 34:56Speaker 3: All right, thank you. You're gonna listen, You're gonna have
- 34:59Speaker 3: a better time. You're golfing and eating lunch with friends.
- 35:01Speaker 3: But uh so you have a good time. Okay.
- 35:03Speaker 8: I'll be on one last round of golf because I
- 35:06Speaker 8: think we're really back into the hockey grind right after this.
- 35:09Speaker 3: You know.
- 35:09Speaker 8: We we get through the second round, then we have
- 35:11Speaker 8: a con every game of a conference final, in every
- 35:13Speaker 8: game of the Stanley Cup final.
- 35:14Speaker 9: So there'll be no more golf probably till the end
- 35:17Speaker 9: of June. So we're going to enjoy today.
- 35:19Speaker 3: You'll be okay. We look forward to all your calls.
- 35:22Speaker 3: Thank you, Sean McDonough. We appreciate it as always my pleasure.

- 35:50Speaker 3: Eight seven seven for the Herd, That is eight seven
- 35:53Speaker 3: seven for the Herd. Colin has his own phone number.
- 35:59Speaker 3: I don't think.
- 35:59Speaker 6: I don't think he takes calls.
- 36:01Speaker 3: Does he have no I want to try and take
- 36:04Speaker 3: some calls. So what's the point of having the line
- 36:07Speaker 3: eight seven seven for the Herd? That is eight seven
- 36:10Speaker 3: seven for the Herd. I'm wondering what our customized phone
- 36:13Speaker 3: number would be if we had one. But eight seven
- 36:17Speaker 3: seven for the Herd. Taylor is a top five I
- 36:19Speaker 3: want to get to in just a second, and we
- 36:21Speaker 3: realize Thank you to Sean McDonough by the way for
- 36:23Speaker 3: joining us. Jeff Passon is going to join us later
- 36:26Speaker 3: on in the show at Taylor does have a top five.
- 36:29Speaker 3: We'll get to in just a second. I know the
- 36:30Speaker 3: audience here is going to miss Colin, is he and
- 36:34Speaker 3: perhaps they might reject us and I don't care, but
- 36:38Speaker 3: we realize that. Listen, it's only a day. You miss
- 36:42Speaker 3: your guy, but we have your guy for you in
- 36:46Speaker 3: the form of Ai Ai Colin. So let's get his
- 36:49Speaker 3: prediction on a big game. Three Nixon sixers tonight.
- 36:54Speaker 7: Philadelphia wins tonight, and it's simple home crowd desperation and
- 36:59Speaker 7: the Nickson's best. This wing stopper being questionable is a
- 37:01Speaker 7: real swing. If Og and Oobe can't go, Jalen Brunson's
- 37:05Speaker 7: got to carry more two way load. And that's where
- 37:07Speaker 7: Tyrese max. He starts living in the paint and getting
- 37:10Speaker 7: to the line. I've got the sixers and a grinder
- 37:12Speaker 7: something like one oh six to one oh one, because
- 37:15Speaker 7: down to zip you don't play pretty, you play urgent.
- 37:18Speaker 7: That's the spot, that's the game.
- 37:20Speaker 3: Yep, He's right. I mean they're desperate. Now, how do
- 37:23Speaker 3: you feel about that, Taylor? I mean, you're a big
- 37:24Speaker 3: Knicks fan. How do you feel about that? I rejected?
- 37:26Speaker 3: I say the Knicks win this thing and they went
- 37:28Speaker 3: in in four. How about that?
- 37:30Speaker 6: Yeah, I have the Knicks winning this one. But man
- 37:31Speaker 6: Ai Colin is good.
- 37:33Speaker 3: You have the gentleman sweep. You have the Knicks in five,
- 37:35Speaker 3: don't you. Yeah?
- 37:37Speaker 6: Yeah, I think Philly gets gets Game four.
- 37:41Speaker 5: What does that matter to you about Joel Embiid.
- 37:45Speaker 6: Me personally, No, No, I feel better Joe Embiid plays.
- 37:48Speaker 6: If we're being honest.
- 37:50Speaker 3: Really, so, you think the Sixers are better without Joel Embiid.
- 37:54Speaker 3: They were down three to one to the Celtics and
- 37:56Speaker 3: came back and won that series when Embiid came back.
- 38:00Speaker 6: Yeah, but you're looking at that Celtics roster, you notice
- 38:02Speaker 6: who they don't have, Jalen Brunson.
- 38:05Speaker 5: H Honestly, there's probably a bunch of listeners right now
- 38:09Speaker 5: that think I believe that the Sixers will be better
- 38:11Speaker 5: without Joel Embiid because there was a promo that ran
- 38:14Speaker 5: and it cut my part off right at the end
- 38:16Speaker 5: of that sentence, no more context. So now anybody who
- 38:19Speaker 5: was listening things it's real good Tierras thinks the Sixers
- 38:22Speaker 5: are better without Joel Embiid.
- 38:25Speaker 3: They'll do that to you easy. I mean, that's what
- 38:27Speaker 3: radio is all about way I heard it?
- 38:30Speaker 7: Is it?
- 38:31Speaker 3: Mikey? All right, Taylor has the top five. I'm very
- 38:36Speaker 3: excited for this. I have no idea what it's around.
- 38:39Speaker 3: So Taylor, the floor is yours a top five list?
- 38:42Speaker 3: Here from Taylor, who's sitting in the VIP room with
- 38:45Speaker 3: Bardot Ricardo, who's watching baseball. Go ahead, Taylor.
- 38:48Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 38:48Speaker 6: So as a big Knicks fan, my Knicks off nights
- 38:51Speaker 6: are dominated by what my girlfriend wants to do. So
- 38:54Speaker 6: we went to see Devilwaar's product too.
- 38:57Speaker 3: I know it wow and out for a week, you know.
- 39:00Speaker 6: And yeah, while my girlfriend was enjoying the movie, I
- 39:04Speaker 6: was making a top five people in sports if they
- 39:07Speaker 6: were named after designer brand.
- 39:09Speaker 3: Rude.
- 39:10Speaker 5: You're on your phone in the movie theater Rude.
- 39:12Speaker 6: Yeah, last row.
- 39:14Speaker 3: Wait a second, so how do you how do you
- 39:16Speaker 3: pass this with the girlfriend? Are you like, are you
- 39:19Speaker 3: giving off that you're paying attention to the movie, But
- 39:21Speaker 3: really what you're doing is thinking of a top five list?
- 39:24Speaker 3: How does that work?
- 39:24Speaker 6: I mean, so I'll hear like a brand during the
- 39:27Speaker 6: movie and then once the brand gets mentioned, I was
- 39:30Speaker 6: pulling out my phone and be like, cause Stu, you know,
- 39:32Speaker 6: sometimes if you if you say you're gonna write something
- 39:35Speaker 6: down later on, you'll forget it. You almost just have
- 39:37Speaker 6: to take that phone out right away and write it.
- 39:39Speaker 3: I write it all down, even the phone number eight
- 39:40Speaker 3: seven seven for the herd. You're right about that, all right?
- 39:43Speaker 3: So let's let's hear this. Top five? Is he you
- 39:46Speaker 3: haven't seen Devilwaar's product to you haven't seen it yet?
- 39:49Speaker 7: No?
- 39:50Speaker 3: I saw it.
- 39:50Speaker 2: I talked about it.
- 39:51Speaker 3: H you did? I forgot? Yeah?
- 39:54Speaker 4: Do you have to see one to understand two?
- 39:57Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 39:57Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 39:57Speaker 6: No, no, yeah, definitely not interested in either.
- 39:59Speaker 3: Right, I'm all right, So go ahead, Taylor.
- 40:03Speaker 6: So top five people in sports if they were named
- 40:06Speaker 6: after a designer brand, middle infielder, utility player Martin Prado
- 40:13Speaker 6: Martine Prado ol right off the bat.
- 40:17Speaker 5: Welso if you have to say their position and what
- 40:21Speaker 5: sport they play in, maybe not the best choice.
- 40:24Speaker 3: Is he have a question for you? Is Taylor nervous
- 40:26Speaker 3: because he's in the herd? Because I have lived in
- 40:28Speaker 3: the herd for twenty years, so I'm okay with this.
- 40:31Speaker 5: What happens is Taylor's from New York, a lot of ripoff,
- 40:34Speaker 5: you know, brand names, and he's probably about a couple
- 40:37Speaker 5: of Pratos in his life instead of product, and it's
- 40:40Speaker 5: just what he's used to.
- 40:41Speaker 3: I have purchased several role axes in my life.
- 40:45Speaker 5: The knockoff culture is crazy.
- 40:47Speaker 6: The problem is I didn't have the utility thing written down,
- 40:50Speaker 6: and I started to improvise. I shouldn't improvise. Just stick
- 40:52Speaker 6: to the list.
- 40:53Speaker 3: Stick to the list. Oli is outside looking in. By
- 40:56Speaker 3: the way, he hasn't gotten to his top five yet.
- 40:58Speaker 6: Keep going, Taylor, O l I, John Gucci gross.
- 41:05Speaker 5: Nice, nice recovery there, Gucci Verso, these are all O
- 41:15Speaker 5: l I, My god, I would have taken a sport imposition.
- 41:18Speaker 2: Actually, number five d Or Milner.
- 41:24Speaker 3: I like some of the olies better than that one.
- 41:26Speaker 6: I mean number four Vince Cardier or.
- 41:32Speaker 3: Cardier Tomato Tomato.
- 41:35Speaker 5: Now I know why you didn't love Devilaware's proud of.
- 41:37Speaker 5: You're not about the high fashion, are you?
- 41:39Speaker 6: Number three Louis Baton maddingly.
- 41:46Speaker 3: Yes, I'm sorry. Say it again. I'm sorry. We're in
- 41:50Speaker 3: different places. People, bear with us. I've been Syracuse, there
- 41:53Speaker 3: in Miami and Mikey's up in Connecticut. Say that punchline again,
- 42:00Speaker 3: Dannie Baseball, go with manager of the Year, Go ahead.
- 42:03Speaker 6: Number two Findy Chavez.
- 42:10Speaker 5: That's very good name of sport and position, and Chaves.
- 42:14Speaker 6: And number one Chanelson Cruz.
- 42:20Speaker 5: Coco, Chanelson Cruz.
- 42:22Speaker 3: Eight seven seven for the herd. We're in the hurd
