- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Benn and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with her radio. It is a very special week. Yes,
- 0:08Speaker 1: today is the first official day that the almost Famous
- 0:12Speaker 1: podcast is breaking down this year's episode of The Bachelorette. Ashley,
- 0:17Speaker 1: How pumped are you to be back in season now? Officially? Oh,
- 0:22Speaker 1: it's so fun to have something to concretely talk about
- 0:27Speaker 1: it is. It's great. We've had a lot of fun
- 0:29Speaker 1: in the off season. A lot of stuff happening in
- 0:32Speaker 1: Bachelor Nation. Uh, not as many changes as maybe the
- 0:36Speaker 1: off season before the last year then, uh, but now
- 0:43Speaker 1: we're back talking about this season. I have a feeling actually,
- 0:48Speaker 1: before we do this podcast, I always get on Twitter
- 0:50Speaker 1: and try to get the the like, very non scientific
- 0:56Speaker 1: um VI of what Bachelor Nation is feeling. I will
- 1:01Speaker 1: say this to kick us off. I think they really
- 1:04Speaker 1: like gabbing Rachel a lot. I think so too. I'm
- 1:07Speaker 1: so excited for everyone. Yeah, and I think they're gonna
- 1:10Speaker 1: like get like, this isn't a I don't even know
- 1:13Speaker 1: what season it would be where we like start out
- 1:14Speaker 1: really liking the lead and then as the season goes on,
- 1:17Speaker 1: we kind of like, you know, we don't like him
- 1:20Speaker 1: as much. Now I think gabbing Rachel are only going
- 1:23Speaker 1: to continue to shine when you like look up stuff.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Even on like message boards, people seem to always be
- 1:33Speaker 1: positive about them. There's like not a lot of hate
- 1:35Speaker 1: out there, not a lot of criticism. I don't want
- 1:37Speaker 1: to say heye, but criticism. Uh. And I think that
- 1:42Speaker 1: we We had people come to Audrey yesterday for a
- 1:44Speaker 1: watch party, the Packed House, and I had already watched
- 1:48Speaker 1: the episode. I was getting some work done in the
- 1:50Speaker 1: back room when the episode was actually airing, you know
- 1:52Speaker 1: when people are mingling about before the episode. Of course
- 1:55Speaker 1: I'm out there, but um, I was listening to the
- 1:58Speaker 1: crowd reaction and they loved the episode. They were just
- 2:04Speaker 1: they were so vocal and they were laughing, and it
- 2:08Speaker 1: was totally different than the Clayton season. The Clayton season
- 2:12Speaker 1: we got more like no but with this we got
- 2:15Speaker 1: a lot of laughter, a lot of like cheering. It
- 2:18Speaker 1: was awesome. Yeah, I think it's going to continue to
- 2:20Speaker 1: be well. Uh followed. That is interesting. Actually your watch party,
- 2:25Speaker 1: do people watch it or is it just on in
- 2:28Speaker 1: the background and people aren't engaged or are they very engaged? No,
- 2:32Speaker 1: that's like it's really cool. I thought, Oh, we're gonna
- 2:34Speaker 1: have a watch party. It's like they see some people
- 2:36Speaker 1: that mingle, they're not going to ever pay attention to
- 2:38Speaker 1: the episode and then they're gonna have to go home
- 2:40Speaker 1: and watch it. But not at all. So we do
- 2:43Speaker 1: like I like go around the room before the show,
- 2:46Speaker 1: and then after the show, Jared and I and do
- 2:49Speaker 1: like a little meet and great mingle, and we do
- 2:53Speaker 1: like Q and A during like an innermission and like
- 2:56Speaker 1: towards the end. But like people are glued into the
- 3:00Speaker 1: show the entire time. It's really it's nice, really nice.
- 3:05Speaker 1: They're totally n now here's the weird part, Ashley. Uh,
- 3:10Speaker 1: something interesting to consider. The ratings have just came out
- 3:14Speaker 1: as of twenty seven minutes ago. Holy crap. So oh god, Ben,
- 3:21Speaker 1: the suspense making even more suspense than you already are.
- 3:24Speaker 1: It is crazy to think this season eighteen so last
- 3:29Speaker 1: season of ABC's Bachelor averaged a point six five rating
- 3:34Speaker 1: in the eighteen to forty nine demographic and two point
- 3:37Speaker 1: eight nine million viewers. That's last season, okay, two point
- 3:41Speaker 1: eight nine, two point nine million, two million million, two million,
- 3:48Speaker 1: eight thousand for Michell for Michells okay, and last night
- 3:56Speaker 1: in the eighteen to forty nine demo. It was down
- 4:02Speaker 1: with two point seven million viewers, which is a total
- 4:05Speaker 1: of being down nine percent from last year's premiere. What
- 4:11Speaker 1: was the number? The million number? Two point seven million.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Two point seven million versus two point nine is that interesting?
- 4:20Speaker 1: I did not expect that. I really thought neither that
- 4:24Speaker 1: Last Night was going to be a massive home run.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Now I think it's still won the evening. I think
- 4:30Speaker 1: it still was the highest watch show on network television. However, um,
- 4:38Speaker 1: people maybe aren't tuning in Night Of. That could still
- 4:41Speaker 1: be a thing. Maybe, Uh, when the streaming numbers come out,
- 4:46Speaker 1: they're going to see that people tune in tonight or tomorrow.
- 4:50Speaker 1: But yeah, it's down, which is shocking to me. As
- 4:53Speaker 1: we get started, I think it's gonna be a great season.
- 4:56Speaker 1: I will say right now, I think people should watch
- 4:58Speaker 1: this season if they're at all a fan of the
- 5:01Speaker 1: franchise and they're looking for maybe that kind of throwback
- 5:05Speaker 1: old school feel where the contestants, uh so far haven't
- 5:10Speaker 1: added a lot of drama. The bachelorettes are incredible leads.
- 5:15Speaker 1: I think this is going to have a great feel.
- 5:17Speaker 1: But as far as we know right now, people didn't
- 5:20Speaker 1: tune in and so we're gonna to wait and see.
- 5:22Speaker 1: That doesn't change our excitement for this season. It doesn't
- 5:25Speaker 1: change our excitement to break down this episode. We have
- 5:27Speaker 1: a whole lot to break down, and so let's start,
- 5:31Speaker 1: Ashley with the introduction of the two bachelorettes. You mentioned
- 5:37Speaker 1: during the Twelve Days of Celebration that you felt like
- 5:40Speaker 1: it was we were having a hard time as viewers
- 5:43Speaker 1: connecting with the leads over the last few seasons. Did
- 5:46Speaker 1: you feel like this show did a good job last
- 5:48Speaker 1: night helping us connect and root for Gabby and Rachel.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I feel like Gaby and Rachel are our friends. I
- 5:56Speaker 1: definitely feel like we know them. They're like our galp House. Yeah,
- 5:59Speaker 1: and again, I want to reiterate, I feel like we've
- 6:02Speaker 1: gotten that sense of unknowing more so with The Bachelor's bachelorettes,
- 6:05Speaker 1: because like, I feel pretty friendly with Michelle and Katie too,
- 6:09Speaker 1: even though I don't know them both personally very well. Uh,
- 6:14Speaker 1: I would say the same thing. I think The Bachelor
- 6:16Speaker 1: needs a great season. I didn't and the Indians a
- 6:20Speaker 1: side note, I didn't see last night's too early on.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Any guys that stood out was like, that's gonna be
- 6:25Speaker 1: the next Bachelor, Like that looks like the Bachelor to me.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I think there should be some guys in the weeks
- 6:30Speaker 1: two and three that really shine and shows who they
- 6:32Speaker 1: are and we'll go, oh, yeah, that makes sense. Now.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Last night I just didn't get that feeling, which is
- 6:36Speaker 1: great because it was very focused on Gabby and Rachel.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Best part of the episode to me was right off
- 6:42Speaker 1: the beginning. Can you guess what it was? Um, I'll
- 6:47Speaker 1: just tell you right now. Then. Yeah, I don't want
- 6:49Speaker 1: to guess the so amazing missed belly bump that both
- 6:57Speaker 1: of them did when they saw each other after Rachel
- 7:00Speaker 1: landed in l A in her plane and Gabby went
- 7:02Speaker 1: to pick her up, and they like belly bumped each other,
- 7:05Speaker 1: but like one of them didn't really get off the ground,
- 7:07Speaker 1: the other one kind of did and they kind of
- 7:08Speaker 1: just like missed each other and then fell backwards. I
- 7:11Speaker 1: was like, I like these girls, these girls, these are
- 7:14Speaker 1: real girls who are just here to have a good
- 7:17Speaker 1: time and to try to figure out if this thing
- 7:19Speaker 1: can work. And that's when I was like, I am
- 7:21Speaker 1: cheering for them from now until the end. Yeah, I
- 7:25Speaker 1: agree that. You know what makes me laugh when Gabby's
- 7:30Speaker 1: like yeah. Yeah, Well, like she said yesterday in her interview,
- 7:35Speaker 1: and uh, if you did not listen to her interview
- 7:38Speaker 1: with Gabby and Rachel, we encourage you to go back
- 7:40Speaker 1: and listen to that that aired last night at nine pm.
- 7:43Speaker 1: We had both leads on. Gabby admitted that Rachel puts
- 7:48Speaker 1: words to thoughts and that Gabby just likes to stand
- 7:51Speaker 1: there and kind of say yeah, because Rachel has the words.
- 7:55Speaker 1: And I think that's great. Good for them. I love that.
- 7:58Speaker 1: That's like us, Ben, You're like blood bla bla bla blah.
- 8:00Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, well, sometimes you have to have a
- 8:05Speaker 1: great partner um and you balance each other out. And
- 8:09Speaker 1: I think they're gonna balance each other out really well. Okay,
- 8:22Speaker 1: So that leads us into the second segment of the episode. Actually,
- 8:26Speaker 1: I don't want to hear your thoughts on this. The
- 8:28Speaker 1: men were filmed watching kind of the announcement of the
- 8:31Speaker 1: two bachelorettes. We kind of had a behind the scenes
- 8:34Speaker 1: look at them watching with their families or in their
- 8:36Speaker 1: hotel rooms. What did you think of that little segment? Okay?
- 8:40Speaker 1: I liked the segment That felt like the draft day,
- 8:43Speaker 1: like they were sitting there waiting for their names to
- 8:45Speaker 1: be called, right, everybody was so excited when the two
- 8:49Speaker 1: were announced and its it seemed like real genuine excitement
- 8:52Speaker 1: that they were getting two bachelorettes, and the two bachelorettes
- 8:54Speaker 1: were who they were really really adorable. Actually, what I
- 8:59Speaker 1: don't remember bern now, like now that I'm like twenty
- 9:02Speaker 1: four hours removed from watching the episode, there is no package,
- 9:06Speaker 1: no guy package that really stood with me as being like, ah,
- 9:11Speaker 1: that one there wasn't really was there. Did they even
- 9:14Speaker 1: have packages? We didn't have packages. Okay, we didn't have package.
- 9:18Speaker 1: That's why I don't remember guys. That's why I don't remember.
- 9:21Speaker 1: But we did get like little intros, little little here
- 9:25Speaker 1: or there's right, Yeah, I will tell you this. I'm not. Yeah,
- 9:33Speaker 1: I kind of enjoy two things that happened last night. One, uh,
- 9:38Speaker 1: none of these guys were introduced to us months ago
- 9:41Speaker 1: at some live show. I'm over that. That was just weird.
- 9:44Speaker 1: It didn't make any sense. I felt like it kind
- 9:46Speaker 1: of set them up to be front runners early on,
- 9:50Speaker 1: even though a lot of them never lasted past the
- 9:52Speaker 1: you know past earlier one. But it was just it's
- 9:54Speaker 1: just awkward and it didn't really make sense to me.
- 9:56Speaker 1: The second is I can go without the packages. I mean, apparently,
- 10:01Speaker 1: we definitely can go without the packages. I just so
- 10:05Speaker 1: there are some packages in the past that do stand
- 10:07Speaker 1: out to me. You do get to go to know
- 10:08Speaker 1: the guys a little better, some of them from these packages.
- 10:12Speaker 1: But oftentimes, if you've noticed recently and tell me if
- 10:15Speaker 1: you think I'm crazy, a lot of the packages have
- 10:17Speaker 1: included people that just don't last very long. So we
- 10:20Speaker 1: waste half of the episode watching a bunch of dudes
- 10:22Speaker 1: who we don't watch past night one. So so true. Yeah,
- 10:27Speaker 1: because really the producers don't know when they go and
- 10:29Speaker 1: they pick, you know, they pick like a third of
- 10:31Speaker 1: people to go meet in their hometown. They don't know
- 10:34Speaker 1: who's going to really last. Just use their best guess. Yeah,
- 10:38Speaker 1: so I'm okay trying without it. I mean I do
- 10:41Speaker 1: think some of them are important. I remember the Tyler
- 10:43Speaker 1: Cameron package where he's like shirtless dancing around in some
- 10:48Speaker 1: house that he was building back then. Uh, And I
- 10:51Speaker 1: was like, what that dude's like about, Like he's like
- 10:53Speaker 1: a professional dancer, Like, well, how's this going to play out?
- 10:56Speaker 1: He's so like agile. Yeah, that was the beginning of
- 10:59Speaker 1: his Patrick Swayze vibe. Yeah, yeah, and then you know
- 11:03Speaker 1: that sticks with me that I remember that that package.
- 11:05Speaker 1: But for the most part, they're pretty forgettable, and so
- 11:08Speaker 1: we just got the behind the scenes of them getting
- 11:10Speaker 1: excited about the announcement. Probably one of those reasons. And
- 11:13Speaker 1: I think we're gonna have this all season. One of
- 11:15Speaker 1: the reasons I'm excited. Uh, they probably cut packages because
- 11:19Speaker 1: they're gonna have so much content to show that we
- 11:22Speaker 1: don't need any filler space, Like we don't need those
- 11:26Speaker 1: random kind of segments that don't make a lot of
- 11:29Speaker 1: sense for the season. I bet we have less b
- 11:32Speaker 1: roll this season than ever where people are walking around
- 11:35Speaker 1: the city's I bet we have still beautiful pictures of
- 11:39Speaker 1: the landscape. But I think we just have a lot
- 11:40Speaker 1: of content to get through. I mean, we saw it
- 11:43Speaker 1: with Gabby and Rachel. They said it yesterday. They barely
- 11:45Speaker 1: got to talk to you, but they talked to half
- 11:47Speaker 1: of the people on Night one. Because I think it's
- 11:50Speaker 1: it's wild. It's wild. I talked to every single person,
- 11:55Speaker 1: every single person, and I had spoken on my Night
- 11:58Speaker 1: one not because it was something that I mean, I
- 12:00Speaker 1: wanted to do that obviously. I think everybody wants to
- 12:02Speaker 1: do that, but it was just part of it, like
- 12:05Speaker 1: you did. We were able to do it because there
- 12:07Speaker 1: wasn't so many I think Chris, I think Chris Souls
- 12:11Speaker 1: maybe didn't talk to like four or five of the girls,
- 12:14Speaker 1: but out of I think we had thirty. That's a
- 12:17Speaker 1: huge chunk. And the fact that, like they said, collectively,
- 12:21Speaker 1: they only got through half is so crazy. I don't
- 12:25Speaker 1: know why that is. There had to be more going
- 12:27Speaker 1: on behind the scenes. I but they had more time
- 12:30Speaker 1: Rachel and Gabby talking like on the side that they
- 12:33Speaker 1: were filming, because if two of them, between the two
- 12:38Speaker 1: of them, you would think they would been able to
- 12:39Speaker 1: get to everybody. Yeah, you would think, you know, the
- 12:43Speaker 1: guys may not have talked to both, but yeah, I
- 12:46Speaker 1: don't know. So Okay, so we get tonight one. Now,
- 12:51Speaker 1: Actually we are at the mansion. Uh, the guys are
- 12:54Speaker 1: going to be pulling up, They're getting excited. Uh. What
- 12:58Speaker 1: are your thoughts now in this moment as you're watching
- 13:02Speaker 1: the episode? Are you excited? Are you anxious? Um? Are
- 13:07Speaker 1: you do you feel like you're watching The Bachelor again?
- 13:12Speaker 1: Or do you do you feel like this is kind
- 13:14Speaker 1: of some spinoff show because there's two bachelorettes. Oh, I
- 13:18Speaker 1: feel like I'm I'm watching the Bachelorette. There are two
- 13:21Speaker 1: things that I really stand out to me about like
- 13:23Speaker 1: this section of the episode. One, why did Gabby get
- 13:30Speaker 1: the much better dress? Good question? Do you feel like?
- 13:35Speaker 1: I feel like com I wanted to almost ask them yesterday,
- 13:39Speaker 1: but I was like, no, I'm not going to say
- 13:40Speaker 1: that to Rachel, like that's sad, like of course not.
- 13:42Speaker 1: But like Gabby gets this Volvo Boom dress and then
- 13:48Speaker 1: Rachel's covered up to her neck. I don't know it
- 13:50Speaker 1: just wasn't a fan of that dress. And I just
- 13:53Speaker 1: thought that like one was such a like a stunt
- 13:56Speaker 1: or interesting unique dress, and I think it's just a lot.
- 13:58Speaker 1: I think like it actually like something like that. Well,
- 14:02Speaker 1: it seems vain and surface level. They get in a
- 14:06Speaker 1: moment where the two of them are standing next to
- 14:07Speaker 1: each other, they need to have comparable dresses. Here's the truth.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I didn't even realize this. Um then I don't even
- 14:16Speaker 1: remember what dresses either of them were wearing. Um, But
- 14:20Speaker 1: I'm glad you bring that out now. I imagine Ashley,
- 14:24Speaker 1: at least in my scenario, they picked their dress. Of course,
- 14:28Speaker 1: you're probably right there was definitely a say, it wasn't
- 14:32Speaker 1: like Carrie the stylist was like, you're gonna wear this
- 14:35Speaker 1: and you're gonna wear that. I'm sure that they had
- 14:37Speaker 1: both a selection to choose from, and I'm not saying
- 14:41Speaker 1: that like obviously Rachel's dress is pretty. Is just like
- 14:46Speaker 1: Garry dress was so sexy and so like interesting, and
- 14:49Speaker 1: then there was just like, let me know, people, am
- 14:52Speaker 1: I being mean or do you totally understand what I'm saying? No?
- 14:56Speaker 1: I think I don't think it's mean. I think it's
- 14:57Speaker 1: a it's a fair opinion. I I one her though,
- 15:00Speaker 1: if we go one step further and say, okay, if
- 15:02Speaker 1: they got to pick their dresses, is this a part
- 15:04Speaker 1: of showing who they are their personality? Is? Uh? You
- 15:08Speaker 1: know Gabby felt more comfortable on night one, you know,
- 15:12Speaker 1: in that dress and kind of you know, showing who
- 15:16Speaker 1: she is, and then Rachel said, no, I want this
- 15:18Speaker 1: dress to show who I am. And that's just kind
- 15:20Speaker 1: of their unique personalities. Look at you, Ben side by side.
- 15:24Speaker 1: I love the way you think. Well, no, I mean
- 15:26Speaker 1: because it is you know, um, Rachel is definitely more reserved.
- 15:31Speaker 1: She um is like less sex forward, you know what.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I mean, Gabby is like talking about She's like it
- 15:39Speaker 1: hasn't been a year since I've had she's talking about
- 15:42Speaker 1: making out all that, and we wouldn't we wouldn't see
- 15:46Speaker 1: that from Rachel. Yeah. Actually that's a great point. So
- 15:48Speaker 1: it's a good parallel something to watch throughout the season.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Now is their two personalities kind of shining uniquely amongst
- 15:54Speaker 1: each other. Okay, so the guys pull up to the mansion, Ashley,
- 16:00Speaker 1: I think, Um, for just sake of simplicity here on
- 16:05Speaker 1: this podcast, let's go through some of the intros that
- 16:09Speaker 1: stood out to you. Which ones are memorable to you,
- 16:13Speaker 1: which ones are forgettable for you, Which ones are also
- 16:16Speaker 1: maybe memorable but a tad I don't want to say, awkward,
- 16:21Speaker 1: but maybe unattractive for you. Um, let's go through some
- 16:26Speaker 1: of those intros. You lead us along here, Okay, And
- 16:29Speaker 1: I just want to make my second point was that
- 16:31Speaker 1: I noticed that the guys would hug Gabby or look
- 16:34Speaker 1: at Gabby first, and I don't even know that that's
- 16:37Speaker 1: really an attraction things. I think both girls are so gorgeous. Um,
- 16:41Speaker 1: I think it might be like an open thing like
- 16:44Speaker 1: a Gabby might be like a little bit more like outgoing. Yeah.
- 16:49Speaker 1: I Also I thought about this because I remember my
- 16:53Speaker 1: Night one on the Bachelorette and having two bachelorettes there,
- 16:56Speaker 1: and I remember sitting in the limo right before I
- 16:58Speaker 1: walked out, and I asked the producer Todd, who was
- 17:02Speaker 1: sitting right across from me. I said, which one do
- 17:04Speaker 1: I say hi to? First? Like? Is there? I mean,
- 17:07Speaker 1: this is my night one. I have no training and
- 17:10Speaker 1: TV or how this camera stuff works. So I was like,
- 17:12Speaker 1: is there a formula all right on how you want
- 17:15Speaker 1: to do? It? Goes? No, you say hi to whicheveryone
- 17:17Speaker 1: you want. And that made me more nervous because I
- 17:19Speaker 1: was like, well, crap, I'm gonna lose either way here,
- 17:21Speaker 1: And so I just said hi to the person on
- 17:23Speaker 1: the right first, because it's kind of like it felt like,
- 17:27Speaker 1: I don't know, I'm I'm typically in life suede to
- 17:30Speaker 1: go to the right. You know, if there's two options
- 17:32Speaker 1: right or left, I'm gonna go right. It's just interesting
- 17:35Speaker 1: I would go left because it's like how you read
- 17:36Speaker 1: left or right? Fair? So I think it was I
- 17:39Speaker 1: think it's maybe just a comfort thing. I don't in
- 17:41Speaker 1: that moment, actually you know this, And and listeners you've
- 17:45Speaker 1: heard of say this. That is not a thought through moment.
- 17:49Speaker 1: You are black, like you are so nervous, like everything
- 17:52Speaker 1: goes blurry. You're just trying to walk the fifty feet
- 17:56Speaker 1: to get to them, not make a fool of yourself,
- 18:00Speaker 1: say your name and get out of there so that
- 18:02Speaker 1: you can get some like comfort. That is, there's no
- 18:05Speaker 1: there's very few people that confidently, uh have that moment
- 18:10Speaker 1: downpat and they do it like with a thought through
- 18:12Speaker 1: like with a thoughtful um action. I mean, that's why
- 18:18Speaker 1: I'm always impressed with these dudes who have like lines
- 18:20Speaker 1: and poems and huge entrances like you guys are crazy,
- 18:24Speaker 1: Like I literally couldn't walk even I was so nervous.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Um I was thinking, I want to make a point
- 18:33Speaker 1: to say, talk to a producer, and they said they
- 18:37Speaker 1: were very like they made it would be important thing
- 18:42Speaker 1: that the girls were together during that intro and not
- 18:45Speaker 1: separate like Caitlyn and Britt, because with Caitlyn and Britt,
- 18:48Speaker 1: I mean, that's just setting them up to actually be
- 18:50Speaker 1: competing directly against each other, and they wanted it to
- 18:53Speaker 1: be like a united front. That's good. Okay, this is
- 19:06Speaker 1: like the first season where I wasn't really turned off
- 19:09Speaker 1: by any intro, Like I can't think of one that
- 19:11Speaker 1: I was like that was gross? Really, um, what you
- 19:15Speaker 1: just one throughout come up to you as being not
- 19:20Speaker 1: I thought it was I had a big like a
- 19:24Speaker 1: lot of a big issue. We're not a big issue.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Like I'm not like thinking I didn't like loose sleepover. Oh,
- 19:30Speaker 1: I know, I'm stupid. I thought the choir I thought
- 19:35Speaker 1: was inappropriate. I thought it was inappropriate for Clayton. I mean,
- 19:39Speaker 1: this dude, like he was just trying to go through
- 19:42Speaker 1: this process. I know people maybe aren't the biggest fans
- 19:44Speaker 1: of Clayton, but he showed himself to now be a
- 19:47Speaker 1: very committed boyfriend to Susie, and he's you know, worked
- 19:52Speaker 1: his way out of this. You know, obviously his name
- 19:55Speaker 1: is going to be brought up because he was just
- 19:56Speaker 1: the last season. That's expected. But I thought to have
- 20:00Speaker 1: a choir uh sing a hateful song about any human
- 20:05Speaker 1: one is just hard to watch. And two it was kids, Like, yeah,
- 20:11Speaker 1: kids doing this. If it was an adult choir, I'm like, whatever,
- 20:14Speaker 1: that was just goofy. But you're gonna have a bunch
- 20:16Speaker 1: of kids spew hate in a song about another man
- 20:22Speaker 1: as you get out of a limo. For me, I
- 20:23Speaker 1: was I was over it for the moment it started,
- 20:27Speaker 1: and I think it was something that I said. I
- 20:29Speaker 1: don't know where this came from. I don't know where
- 20:31Speaker 1: this was born from, but I did not enjoy it,
- 20:34Speaker 1: and I did I thought it was one of the
- 20:36Speaker 1: worst internces I've ever seen on the show. I apologize
- 20:39Speaker 1: for that not coming to my mind. When you said
- 20:42Speaker 1: the word gross, I was thinking more like gross humor. Um.
- 20:46Speaker 1: But yeah, I already talked about on the Gabby and
- 20:49Speaker 1: Rachel episode yesterday how I thought that was just really
- 20:53Speaker 1: really distasteful. Um. Yeah, wow, that's who. But whose entrance
- 21:01Speaker 1: was that? That's what's weird. We think we think of
- 21:03Speaker 1: the chorus, but we have no idea, or at least
- 21:06Speaker 1: I have no idea who came out to that. Yeah,
- 21:09Speaker 1: you're right, Ashley, because it's it's forgettable because we remember
- 21:12Speaker 1: the choir. We don't remember the person stepping out because
- 21:14Speaker 1: we're all probably so consumed with the choir. But it
- 21:17Speaker 1: was Alec who got out of the limit at that moment,
- 21:20Speaker 1: uh and kind of walked forward. Again. I can't fully
- 21:24Speaker 1: blame him because I don't think he wrote that song,
- 21:26Speaker 1: and I also don't think he had hired this choir.
- 21:29Speaker 1: But but but I will say this, no matter what
- 21:33Speaker 1: the plans was, he agreed to it. And I think
- 21:35Speaker 1: that's what he agreed to have that be his entrance.
- 21:38Speaker 1: And I think for that we need to go, Ah,
- 21:40Speaker 1: come on, there's got to be more to this story
- 21:42Speaker 1: than what we see. Then I agree. Then there was
- 21:46Speaker 1: Roby who did the card trick. And hey, I know
- 21:50Speaker 1: Roby is a little bit off and that he got
- 21:52Speaker 1: eliminated in this episode, but you get me with the
- 21:55Speaker 1: card trick. I love Roby. I thought Roby. I'm shocked
- 21:59Speaker 1: Roby at home because I think Roby is probably one
- 22:02Speaker 1: of the he won. Um. He'd be super entertaining in
- 22:06Speaker 1: the house where there's nothing to do because there are
- 22:07Speaker 1: cards that you can play. Two. He seemed very kind,
- 22:13Speaker 1: uh and very nice. Now he's nervous, sure everybody is.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Maybe he's not as smooth as some of the other
- 22:20Speaker 1: guys are. He couldn't hide his nerves as much. That's
- 22:23Speaker 1: okay too. I liked Roby. I don't know if he
- 22:26Speaker 1: was meant to marry either of them, but I sure
- 22:29Speaker 1: as I wanted to see more of him. I want
- 22:31Speaker 1: to watch him for a few weeks at the least.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Do you think that his name is actually Roby or
- 22:37Speaker 1: is it Robbie and he likes to be interesting? Well,
- 22:40Speaker 1: that's a good question. I don't know. I want to
- 22:43Speaker 1: I want to imagine his name's Robbie and he wants
- 22:45Speaker 1: to be interesting. I like that more. I mean, he
- 22:47Speaker 1: just seems like the type of guy actually that if
- 22:49Speaker 1: he was here two or three weeks one he would
- 22:52Speaker 1: be a fan favorite too. He would do and people
- 22:55Speaker 1: in the house would love him, and then three he
- 22:57Speaker 1: would shine and paradise. I'm not be saying romantically. I'm
- 23:01Speaker 1: just saying that he's like he would become one of
- 23:04Speaker 1: those people in bats our Nation that people just love
- 23:07Speaker 1: to meet and be around, because he's entertaining and he's intriguing.
- 23:12Speaker 1: I think there's a lot more to Roby than what
- 23:14Speaker 1: we saw. I was shot, I guess, in short, I
- 23:17Speaker 1: was shocked. To go home. Okay, that's enough about Roby.
- 23:19Speaker 1: He did the card trick, he went home. We won't
- 23:22Speaker 1: hear about him again. Maybe in Paratis. I don't know
- 23:24Speaker 1: if he's there. But what other intros were really kind
- 23:27Speaker 1: of that stood out to you? Okay, I won't say
- 23:30Speaker 1: it was like a specific one, but I will say
- 23:32Speaker 1: the first like five or ten minutes of intros, maybe
- 23:35Speaker 1: the first five guys that come out of the limo,
- 23:39Speaker 1: I'm like impressed by, like cute, cute and nice seeming
- 23:43Speaker 1: cute and well put together like all that. And I
- 23:45Speaker 1: feel like it's been a while since we had a
- 23:48Speaker 1: season where it was like, ah, good catch, Oh this's
- 23:51Speaker 1: gonna be a good group, you know. And that was
- 23:53Speaker 1: the vibe that I got with that first limo or
- 23:56Speaker 1: so I would say the same thing. I really think
- 24:00Speaker 1: the first intro then that threw me off, you know,
- 24:05Speaker 1: and the first intro threw you off. No, the first
- 24:08Speaker 1: intro that did throw me off, Like all of them
- 24:10Speaker 1: originally were like how intro's I believe should be done.
- 24:14Speaker 1: They should just be an intro like I'm here, I'm
- 24:16Speaker 1: excited to talk to you, you look beautiful, all right,
- 24:20Speaker 1: see you later kind of thing. Um, it was the
- 24:23Speaker 1: guy I I imagine if I could see myself doing this,
- 24:29Speaker 1: trying to say it with the best of intentions and
- 24:32Speaker 1: then going to bed that night and banging my my
- 24:35Speaker 1: head against the pillow, being like, you are such an idiot.
- 24:37Speaker 1: You are so awkward? Why can't you be smoother? That
- 24:40Speaker 1: was my dating life. Um, it's fun to be married
- 24:43Speaker 1: and give that up, but um, but it is the
- 24:49Speaker 1: guy that came up. It's like, I haven't had sex
- 24:50Speaker 1: in a year and a half. Oh my god, you're right.
- 24:56Speaker 1: That was the first one that like I'm like watching
- 24:58Speaker 1: how you know, like I'm a watch I'm watching casually
- 25:01Speaker 1: and then like all of a sudden, I had sex
- 25:03Speaker 1: in here. And then you're like, perk up and you're
- 25:05Speaker 1: like what it was that? Like what was the point?
- 25:08Speaker 1: Like was I mean he didn't and I imagine he
- 25:11Speaker 1: was like in his mind, he was like, Okay, I'm
- 25:13Speaker 1: gonna tell them that I've been really excited for this
- 25:16Speaker 1: and I'm super committed this and I've saved myself for
- 25:19Speaker 1: for a year and a half to to meet you all. Well, one,
- 25:22Speaker 1: he didn't know he was gonna be on the show
- 25:23Speaker 1: for a year and a half, so there's like a
- 25:24Speaker 1: year there where he has to explain what he was
- 25:28Speaker 1: waiting on. And two all he said then was I
- 25:32Speaker 1: met sex in a year and a half because I've
- 25:33Speaker 1: been waiting for you too. And then there was like
- 25:37Speaker 1: an awkward silence and Gabby when he walks away, goes, well,
- 25:40Speaker 1: that makes one of us. And I thought that was amazing,
- 25:42Speaker 1: Like I thought, she's so good, so funny, but weird, right,
- 25:47Speaker 1: like that was awkward. That was not like it was
- 25:49Speaker 1: so weird. It was like he was missing a point.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Like the producers definitely like like, well, what can we
- 25:55Speaker 1: talk about that's really interesting about you? And then he
- 25:57Speaker 1: said that, and then they probably came up with this
- 26:01Speaker 1: something that that would come to a point like a meaning,
- 26:03Speaker 1: and then like he totally missed it or just like
- 26:06Speaker 1: didn't deliver it with a confidence that he should have.
- 26:09Speaker 1: I don't actually think that there's really anything you could
- 26:13Speaker 1: I don't think that was a bad move to say
- 26:14Speaker 1: in general. That's just that's weird. It's your first meeting,
- 26:18Speaker 1: like if I'm yeah, like what if I go on
- 26:20Speaker 1: a blind date? Okay, I sit down at the table.
- 26:24Speaker 1: I said, I'm so excited to meet you tonight. I
- 26:26Speaker 1: have had sex a year and a a half. Yeah, Like
- 26:29Speaker 1: that's weird your opening line at the bar. That's what
- 26:34Speaker 1: you get to think of this as, Hey, I'm a
- 26:36Speaker 1: good guy. I want you to know that, like I'm
- 26:39Speaker 1: not a player. I've had sex and a year and
- 26:41Speaker 1: a half. Like any girl is going to be like, well,
- 26:45Speaker 1: I mean that's tight, Like, tell me, this is Ben Higgins.
- 26:49Speaker 1: He was so openly you know, went without for a
- 26:54Speaker 1: long time. Yeah, my wife and I say it herself
- 26:56Speaker 1: from marriage with each other. Obviously because I'm national television.
- 27:00Speaker 1: You know, I admitted the opposite. But Jessica and I
- 27:03Speaker 1: were together for three years. It wasn't. It's something we've
- 27:05Speaker 1: talked about many times. Um, but like that was not
- 27:10Speaker 1: just because opening line to me, you know, like it isn't.
- 27:16Speaker 1: She didn't come like she we didn't have our first
- 27:18Speaker 1: date and she's like, hey, you know, by the way
- 27:22Speaker 1: I've been, I'm super excited to be here and I
- 27:24Speaker 1: just let you know I've had sex and you know
- 27:26Speaker 1: my lifetime. I'm like, no, that took a few dates.
- 27:29Speaker 1: It took some like hey, tell me about yourself to me,
- 27:33Speaker 1: what's important to you kind of conversations. Anyways, it was
- 27:36Speaker 1: weird to me. That threw me off. Any others stood
- 27:39Speaker 1: out to you, Ashley in terms of entrances, Um, Jacob
- 27:44Speaker 1: on the horse when the girls were like it's fabbio,
- 27:46Speaker 1: it's fabio. I mean it's pretty classic. Um, massive, massive,
- 27:53Speaker 1: Pecks on the on the dude, I mean yeah, really
- 27:57Speaker 1: poked out there. Um, and he was oily of course
- 28:00Speaker 1: that's good. Yeah. And then there was Tino, and his
- 28:05Speaker 1: entrance to me felt like that classic ah he's it
- 28:09Speaker 1: entrance that we get. It was like a Jordan Rogers.
- 28:13Speaker 1: It was like a Sean Booth. There's like that's the moment.
- 28:17Speaker 1: It was the moment for one of them. I'm pretty
- 28:19Speaker 1: sure it's gonna be Rachel. Yeah, yeah, it was. It
- 28:22Speaker 1: was like he was confident, he's obviously good looking. Um.
- 28:27Speaker 1: It was smooth, but again it was very simple. It
- 28:31Speaker 1: was hey, I'm here for you or you two or whoever.
- 28:35Speaker 1: You know. He was there for the beginning and he
- 28:38Speaker 1: walks in and from that you can kind of just
- 28:40Speaker 1: see the spark. Now. I also have a theory, actually
- 28:44Speaker 1: the music changed when he got out of the limo. Yeah,
- 28:48Speaker 1: so I think we remember, like we have a little
- 28:50Speaker 1: like thought, uh in the back of our minds about
- 28:54Speaker 1: him because the music supported his entrance, Like how the
- 28:59Speaker 1: music that's okay, Now you're gonna feel this for this guy,
- 29:02Speaker 1: and then it's gonna go away and he's gonna stand
- 29:04Speaker 1: out in your heart. It's just like you know how
- 29:06Speaker 1: smells get you like a jog ear nostalgia, That music
- 29:10Speaker 1: will do the same thing, and it's such a cool
- 29:13Speaker 1: little mental trick. Yeah. Yeah, if I was, if I
- 29:17Speaker 1: was a contestant now, my only request to the show
- 29:20Speaker 1: would be make sure it's always really good music behind me. People.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Mine was never people, Mine was always do I think,
- 29:29Speaker 1: um man, Okay, so Ashley, the entrances are done. We've
- 29:35Speaker 1: gone through the ones that stood out to us. It
- 29:37Speaker 1: is now time for Rachel and Gabby, as they say,
- 29:41Speaker 1: to divide and conquer and talk to all thirty two
- 29:45Speaker 1: men who have walked through that door. Uh. The opening speech,
- 29:50Speaker 1: in my opinion, was great. It was what was needed. Uh.
- 29:54Speaker 1: It was special. Um, the two of them together doing
- 29:57Speaker 1: it again. We get a sense of support were that
- 30:00Speaker 1: the two of them have for each other. I think
- 30:02Speaker 1: that's going to be a theme throughout this season. I also,
- 30:05Speaker 1: after talking to Jesse last week on the podcast, I'm
- 30:09Speaker 1: not fully convinced that the show uh expected. Uh such
- 30:16Speaker 1: supports like this could have gone very poorly where the
- 30:19Speaker 1: two women do get jealous and envious and they collide
- 30:22Speaker 1: in But I think Gabbing Rachel are so great that
- 30:26Speaker 1: the show got really lucky, and the two of them
- 30:29Speaker 1: really do go through this whole season supporting each other,
- 30:31Speaker 1: and I don't I don't know if the show. I
- 30:33Speaker 1: think once they met, gabbing Rachel like, yeah, these two
- 30:35Speaker 1: people will be great. But I think the show that
- 30:38Speaker 1: could have really backfired on them if they didn't have
- 30:41Speaker 1: that kind of strength within each other. Well, like I
- 30:45Speaker 1: said yesterday, it's like you girls are like so good,
- 30:47Speaker 1: Like you are good quality people. You're far better than me.
- 30:51Speaker 1: You guys were encouraging each other to make out with
- 30:53Speaker 1: the other guy that you liked, Like what like these
- 30:56Speaker 1: are special to Yeah, I I don't know if I could.
- 30:59Speaker 1: I mean, I don't even know if I could do that.
- 31:01Speaker 1: I think I would be jealous and envious. Um, but yeah,
- 31:05Speaker 1: they're like encouraging each other. I mean, the two of them,
- 31:09Speaker 1: I just think are awesome. I'm a big fan of
- 31:12Speaker 1: the two of them. Okay, So Gavin Rachel didn't break
- 31:25Speaker 1: off to start talking to the men, Ashley, just like
- 31:30Speaker 1: we did with the intros. What conversations or what moments
- 31:32Speaker 1: really stood out to you good and bad? Alright, So
- 31:36Speaker 1: it's mostly Rachel's that stood out to me. So let's
- 31:40Speaker 1: start there one with the race car driver Jordan's love
- 31:44Speaker 1: that convo. He surprised her, He surprised us all, I
- 31:47Speaker 1: think he kind of looks like a baby. He's a
- 31:49Speaker 1: race car driver, and was just like something about him
- 31:52Speaker 1: getting out of the limit. It looks like a baby.
- 31:54Speaker 1: He kind of looks like a little babe, A little babe.
- 31:58Speaker 1: You know what. I think. You know, he's like you
- 31:59Speaker 1: find good looking? Yeah, okay, for sure? Do you Yeah?
- 32:04Speaker 1: I mean I think he's a good looking dude. I
- 32:05Speaker 1: think I think he's one of the better looking guys.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Like I definitely have my eye on him with the girls.
- 32:11Speaker 1: I think he stood out to me if we'd have
- 32:13Speaker 1: to listen back, but he was in some of my
- 32:14Speaker 1: like guys to look out for in a good way
- 32:17Speaker 1: before the season started. Um, and he's a race carter.
- 32:20Speaker 1: I mean that's it's just cool. He I guess there's
- 32:26Speaker 1: like a sense of young to me. Um And I
- 32:28Speaker 1: was like, oh, I don't know if like the girls
- 32:30Speaker 1: are going to be like down for like the young vibe.
- 32:32Speaker 1: But he like he had like swag and like a
- 32:35Speaker 1: sweetness and I felt like, uh, definitely some sexual tension
- 32:40Speaker 1: between the two of them when they were going around
- 32:42Speaker 1: the car. I really liked that moment. Of course, I
- 32:45Speaker 1: really liked her moment with Tino. That was great at
- 32:49Speaker 1: the stairs, so cute. And then after she gave him
- 32:53Speaker 1: the first impression Rose. I love that moment between the
- 32:56Speaker 1: two of them too, Like, uh, if you look at
- 32:58Speaker 1: the scenes to the next episode, it's her making out
- 33:01Speaker 1: with you know, like every spot in the world. Well,
- 33:04Speaker 1: I mean that's kind of tight. Yeah, you know who
- 33:08Speaker 1: the race car driver kind of looks like to me,
- 33:10Speaker 1: Jeff Home No, come on, Ryan Philippe, Well, you know,
- 33:18Speaker 1: I love Ryan philipy is so much holy ship. Does
- 33:21Speaker 1: he kind of look like him? I love hi? Yes,
- 33:24Speaker 1: yes there is, yes, see a permanent youth. You know
- 33:28Speaker 1: what Ryan phillippies like forty seven. Yeah, he looks like
- 33:31Speaker 1: he's twenty two. I know. Oh my god. He talked
- 33:35Speaker 1: about swag and sexuality. Then he started with Rod philpy
- 33:38Speaker 1: Um actually shifting in her seat. She's all bothered, Oh
- 33:45Speaker 1: my gosh. Okay, So then there was one other guy
- 33:50Speaker 1: for for Rachel that I was really feeling her way.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Does anybody comes to your mind for her? Even? Yeah?
- 33:59Speaker 1: Even that was so I like their convo so cute.
- 34:02Speaker 1: Likes gonna be around a while. He's kind of like
- 34:05Speaker 1: on the Tina level. Maybe Night one he didn't kind
- 34:08Speaker 1: of stand out as much because he didn't have that unique,
- 34:10Speaker 1: like staircase kind of moment. But I think even is uh,
- 34:14Speaker 1: I just think he's gonna be around a while. I
- 34:16Speaker 1: think he's kind of both of their types in a
- 34:19Speaker 1: lot of way. And he seemed um just even like
- 34:22Speaker 1: from his facial expressions, you know, which is all you
- 34:24Speaker 1: have to go off of really on Night one around
- 34:26Speaker 1: the other guys, he just kind of seems like that
- 34:29Speaker 1: guy that wanted people like um, I do say. I
- 34:33Speaker 1: will say, you know, the Tinos of the world who
- 34:36Speaker 1: get the first impression roles make me nervous because we
- 34:39Speaker 1: kind of get built up liking this contestant and then uh,
- 34:43Speaker 1: over the last few seasons sometimes they disappoint us or
- 34:46Speaker 1: we aren't sold out on him. However, Tino, and this
- 34:52Speaker 1: was such a small line that he said, but it's
- 34:54Speaker 1: awkward to get the first impression Rows. I remember kind
- 34:58Speaker 1: of when I was in the house and Sean got
- 34:59Speaker 1: the of impression Rows and he walked back in and
- 35:01Speaker 1: he sat down and like, you can't really help it,
- 35:05Speaker 1: but you're jealous, you're angry, You're like, you know, it
- 35:09Speaker 1: could have been me. Uh And Tina walks into the
- 35:13Speaker 1: room and he goes, all right, guys, I'm gonna sit
- 35:15Speaker 1: here so you can all get like angry at me
- 35:17Speaker 1: or he said something like that, and it like made
- 35:19Speaker 1: it a joke, and then all of him kind of
- 35:20Speaker 1: laughed like he knew it was gonna be awkward, and
- 35:22Speaker 1: he confronted it, and he kind of did it in
- 35:24Speaker 1: a humble way, and I was like, I think this
- 35:26Speaker 1: dude might be legit, Like I don't think he's going
- 35:28Speaker 1: to disappoint us, because he he had the social awareness
- 35:31Speaker 1: to recognize how uncomfortable it was from to come back
- 35:33Speaker 1: into the room, and he also had the confidence to
- 35:36Speaker 1: speak it out loud to the whole group. And as
- 35:39Speaker 1: a result, I have a feeling that will continue for
- 35:41Speaker 1: the rest of the season. Unlike some who get the
- 35:44Speaker 1: first impression ros, you kind of sit down and we
- 35:46Speaker 1: hear him like in the I t M being like,
- 35:47Speaker 1: look at this, Yeah, I got the first impression, you
- 35:50Speaker 1: know that kind of stuff. Yeah, agreed, And then there's
- 35:54Speaker 1: Mario who got gab research impression rows. I didn't feel
- 35:57Speaker 1: as much between them as I did between Rachel and Tino.
- 36:01Speaker 1: What about you, Well, I mean, I think it was
- 36:04Speaker 1: a I think it was a good moment. They were
- 36:06Speaker 1: both wanting somebody to kiss them. The race car driver
- 36:10Speaker 1: really missed the boat there on that one. I think
- 36:12Speaker 1: he had a great shot at first impression, as if
- 36:13Speaker 1: he just would have, you know, leaned in. However, it's
- 36:15Speaker 1: night one and you don't know, you know, what's appropriate
- 36:19Speaker 1: was not I would have thought no kissing on night
- 36:23Speaker 1: one if I especially at the time that we were
- 36:26Speaker 1: on the show, kissing on night one was not a norm,
- 36:29Speaker 1: not annoying, and now it is. Yeah, but you know,
- 36:31Speaker 1: I think there is when when you do kiss somebody,
- 36:34Speaker 1: there is this level of I I like you, I'm
- 36:36Speaker 1: attracted you kind of feelings. So it is comfortable to do,
- 36:39Speaker 1: but it's still uncomfortable because it's night one, You've just
- 36:42Speaker 1: met them, and you know that they're meeting a lot
- 36:43Speaker 1: of people. Uh I. So anyways, the Mario kiss like
- 36:49Speaker 1: that was just like an awkward kiss to me watching
- 36:54Speaker 1: it was like whoa Like they kind of went like
- 36:56Speaker 1: nose the nose for a bit. They didn't like. Yeah,
- 36:59Speaker 1: he said it was a good kiss. She was like,
- 37:01Speaker 1: I really vibed that, and I was like, oh really,
- 37:03Speaker 1: because it didn't look the best a watch. I'm sure
- 37:06Speaker 1: there's more to it than what we saw. But they
- 37:07Speaker 1: did go nose the nose for a bit, which is
- 37:09Speaker 1: always uncomfortable, and they didn't really get out of the
- 37:11Speaker 1: nose the nose angle for a few seconds there, which
- 37:15Speaker 1: kind of was hard to watch. Um. I get really
- 37:17Speaker 1: uncomfortable when people kiss on this show, so I have
- 37:20Speaker 1: a hard time watching it. But I did feel like
- 37:24Speaker 1: his assertiveness and his ability to take that step, and
- 37:29Speaker 1: and just his his question asking made me say, Okay,
- 37:33Speaker 1: there's something here. Maybe maybe we don't have the spark
- 37:36Speaker 1: like we think we have a Tino and Rachel, but
- 37:38Speaker 1: we have something there. So I wasn't shocked that he
- 37:41Speaker 1: got the first impression Rose. Really, um, I did, and
- 37:46Speaker 1: I want to hear you know, this is obviously something
- 37:48Speaker 1: that is is really cool. But unlike when you watch
- 37:52Speaker 1: show in the past, every guy, at least that I
- 37:55Speaker 1: remember last night, asked for permission to kiss them. I
- 37:59Speaker 1: like to pick up night one for night one. That's
- 38:02Speaker 1: cool because you literally have had a ten minute conversation
- 38:05Speaker 1: and you're like, can I test the waters Yeah, that
- 38:09Speaker 1: was like, Yeah, if that was like on a nine
- 38:12Speaker 1: hour date, I'd be like, you don't have to do that. Well, yeah,
- 38:15Speaker 1: I mean once, once there's like chemistry and there's a
- 38:18Speaker 1: relationship built, then like, you know, maybe you don't have
- 38:21Speaker 1: to ask every time for permission. But um, I did
- 38:26Speaker 1: find it respectful and something unique that every guy at
- 38:31Speaker 1: least that I remember that asked like that wanted to
- 38:34Speaker 1: kiss them ask them permission first. Mm hmm. Then there
- 38:38Speaker 1: was Eric who kissed Gabby but did not kiss Rachel,
- 38:43Speaker 1: but had a good moment with both of them, lots
- 38:47Speaker 1: of laughter, good chemistry between the two. I thought he
- 38:50Speaker 1: was going to go from Gabby and kiss her and
- 38:52Speaker 1: immediately go kiss Rachel and then we would have had
- 38:54Speaker 1: a nice little conversation on our hands, But that is
- 38:57Speaker 1: not how it went. He was probably smart and not
- 38:59Speaker 1: to in that, but he was definitely a little hurt
- 39:02Speaker 1: at the fact that he didn't get one of their
- 39:04Speaker 1: first impression roses. And thinking back, I do feel like
- 39:08Speaker 1: Abby had more of a chemistry, like a natural ease
- 39:13Speaker 1: with him than she did with Mario, but maybe I'm wrong. Yeah,
- 39:16Speaker 1: we got to see a lot more of the conversation
- 39:18Speaker 1: with Eric. I wondered if he was gonna kiss both
- 39:22Speaker 1: now that we know how comfortable that two of them
- 39:23Speaker 1: are in this scenario, I wonder what would have gone
- 39:27Speaker 1: on if he if they would have said, I kissed Eric, Oh,
- 39:29Speaker 1: I kissed Eric, and uh. I thought it was very
- 39:33Speaker 1: wise of him, not that he didn't want to kiss Rachel,
- 39:37Speaker 1: but I thought it was very wise of him to
- 39:38Speaker 1: be like, hey, night one, like, let's see how this
- 39:41Speaker 1: thing plays out, because you don't want to be that guy.
- 39:46Speaker 1: I just don't think you do. You might, it might
- 39:48Speaker 1: work out for you, It might be a fine thing.
- 39:50Speaker 1: I think he's a front runner here, but you just
- 39:52Speaker 1: don't want to be that guy in the back of
- 39:54Speaker 1: your mind that has kissed both leads on Night one.
- 39:58Speaker 1: I had preconceived notions about Eric from his picture that was,
- 40:03Speaker 1: you know, shown people think he looks like a nick
- 40:06Speaker 1: vill Yeah, And after kind of hearing him talk to
- 40:10Speaker 1: both and hearing his I t M s I, it
- 40:14Speaker 1: was a lot more in favor of Eric. I think
- 40:15Speaker 1: he had a good head on his shoulders. I thought
- 40:17Speaker 1: he was not as maybe cocky as I assumed he
- 40:20Speaker 1: was going to be. See, I think he's cocky, really,
- 40:24Speaker 1: I think he's going to end up being cocky. Just
- 40:28Speaker 1: happened subtle signs to me that he was like, oh
- 40:32Speaker 1: and I get first and fresh and rows. Yeah, well
- 40:36Speaker 1: is it? Is it Eric or Ethan that I had
- 40:39Speaker 1: the conversation about the chest hair? Because I thought that's
- 40:42Speaker 1: when I really liked that person too. Was one of
- 40:44Speaker 1: them had a conversation about chest hair and his his
- 40:47Speaker 1: line so quickly to Gabyl was do you shave your
- 40:49Speaker 1: chest hair? And I thought that's hilarious. I thought it
- 40:51Speaker 1: was hilarious. Yeah, And I don't know. I think I
- 40:56Speaker 1: thought it was a good first like funny, lighthearted conversation
- 40:59Speaker 1: and great first like line, knowing Gabby's personality that she
- 41:03Speaker 1: was gonna enjoy that like kind of humor. So was
- 41:08Speaker 1: that logan? No, it was one of the It was
- 41:12Speaker 1: one of It was either it was one of the guys.
- 41:15Speaker 1: It was one of the guys. But whoever did it?
- 41:17Speaker 1: I think I like them a lot too. Okay, there's
- 41:19Speaker 1: there's one other one other guy that I finched it out,
- 41:23Speaker 1: and that's Ryan from Boston. He made Gabby laugh a lot. Yeah,
- 41:27Speaker 1: you said that you thought Gabby really liked him? You
- 41:30Speaker 1: don't think so? No, I don't not think so. I don't.
- 41:33Speaker 1: I don't think I felt it as maybe as clearly
- 41:36Speaker 1: as you did. But yeah, the laughter was important. Um,
- 41:41Speaker 1: and I think I'd only had one person in this list.
- 41:44Speaker 1: It's Hayden. I thought Hayden was kind of quietly in
- 41:48Speaker 1: the mix all night. Um, yes he was. I thought
- 41:53Speaker 1: he kind of It was kind of the like quiet
- 41:56Speaker 1: underdog who I believe we're gonna get to see a
- 41:58Speaker 1: lot more of this season from Florida. Yeah, there's one
- 42:05Speaker 1: from Florida that was like that. Rachel was like, Oh,
- 42:08Speaker 1: my brother lives in Tampa and you just think there
- 42:10Speaker 1: is something there. Yeah, it might have been him. But
- 42:14Speaker 1: those are the guys that stood out to us on
- 42:16Speaker 1: Night one, the guys that kind of made that will
- 42:19Speaker 1: be watching now again. As as hard as it is
- 42:22Speaker 1: for Gabby and Rachel to understand and know these guys names,
- 42:24Speaker 1: it's even harder for us. We won't remember them until
- 42:26Speaker 1: probably week five. You don't remember them either. Yeah, but
- 42:30Speaker 1: it's the guys and you know what they were talking
- 42:31Speaker 1: about and you know the vibe at the moment. Okay,
- 42:33Speaker 1: So we talked about the first impression Rose Mario and
- 42:36Speaker 1: Tino get the first impression Rose Tino from Rachel, Mario
- 42:39Speaker 1: got his from Gabby. They're moving on, which brings us
- 42:42Speaker 1: into the final um part of the show. One quick
- 42:46Speaker 1: note as we go into the Rose ceremony that did
- 42:50Speaker 1: not exist was that I really became a bigger fan
- 42:53Speaker 1: of Rachel after she admitted her fear of clowns, which
- 42:56Speaker 1: is my fear and which was would be my answer
- 42:58Speaker 1: if I was sitting in the moment. Clowns are weird
- 43:01Speaker 1: to me. Um. I don't know why they exist, and
- 43:03Speaker 1: I don't know what they're good for. It's like a
- 43:07Speaker 1: it's like a twice a year conversation that brings up
- 43:10Speaker 1: the fear of clouds doesn't make any sense. It's so horrible.
- 43:13Speaker 1: I don't understand as well why they exist, especially in Yeah,
- 43:17Speaker 1: they're weird. So uh, kudos to Rachel for being honest
- 43:20Speaker 1: and to speaking on behalf of all of us who
- 43:23Speaker 1: have a fear of clowns. Okay, uh, Well, we know
- 43:27Speaker 1: that the Rose Ceremony now gets canceled and that Gabby
- 43:30Speaker 1: and Rachel send home three people and three people only
- 43:34Speaker 1: the twins. Let's start. They're shocking in some ways that
- 43:38Speaker 1: they went home. You guys, I thought that they were
- 43:41Speaker 1: going to be like Pete Davidson twins from Staten Island
- 43:45Speaker 1: based on their pictures, and I thought that they were
- 43:47Speaker 1: going to be like B d E, you know, And
- 43:51Speaker 1: I thought they were gonna be a funny comedy duo together.
- 43:54Speaker 1: I don't know, I guess I just literally thought that
- 43:55Speaker 1: they're going to show up like Pete david'son and they
- 43:58Speaker 1: were the opposite of Pete. It's in there basically just
- 44:00Speaker 1: like guys out of college that were still like into
- 44:04Speaker 1: talking about college, and they were really stale. They were
- 44:10Speaker 1: the opposite of what I was expecting. It was just
- 44:14Speaker 1: like hanging out with two guys that uh yeah. It's like,
- 44:17Speaker 1: you know, I don't know. This is like the most
- 44:20Speaker 1: this is like the most actually common ever. Ben put
- 44:22Speaker 1: yourself back in the day when you like go on
- 44:25Speaker 1: vacation with your family and you'd like scour for like
- 44:30Speaker 1: girls to like kind of hang out with with the
- 44:32Speaker 1: for the week. You you you were late, Yeah, yeah, okay, great,
- 44:38Speaker 1: So my sister and I would go around and do
- 44:40Speaker 1: this like on a cruise. Right. It's like almost like
- 44:42Speaker 1: you're interviewing my boyfriends for the week, and then you
- 44:45Speaker 1: sit down with these two and you'd be like, Oh,
- 44:48Speaker 1: they were okay to hang out with like for an hour,
- 44:50Speaker 1: but like, we're not going to hang out with them
- 44:52Speaker 1: for the rest of the week. Well. It's weird too,
- 44:55Speaker 1: because they were I think two most followed people on
- 44:58Speaker 1: social media going into this season. So my expectation was, Okay,
- 45:02Speaker 1: they're doing this and they're going to become uh kind
- 45:06Speaker 1: of celebrities from the show, but off the show, and
- 45:09Speaker 1: they're gonna use this to increase their following and there whatever,
- 45:12Speaker 1: and so they're gonna be around a while. For the
- 45:14Speaker 1: two of them to go home on night one was
- 45:16Speaker 1: a little shocking because they are good looking and they
- 45:18Speaker 1: are twins, and there is something to that. I don't
- 45:21Speaker 1: know what is to that now after kind of being
- 45:24Speaker 1: a part of the Ferguson twins on are My season,
- 45:26Speaker 1: it was hard. You know, they're both really incredible and
- 45:29Speaker 1: so I wanted them both around. They were both reunique
- 45:32Speaker 1: in their own ways. But it got weird after a
- 45:35Speaker 1: while because it felt like then just in that environment
- 45:40Speaker 1: when the group's hanging out together, like they sat next
- 45:42Speaker 1: to each other because they're comfortable with each other and
- 45:44Speaker 1: they're already friends with each other and they know each other,
- 45:47Speaker 1: and then you go on dates and if the two
- 45:48Speaker 1: of them are there, it's weird and it's hard to
- 45:51Speaker 1: kind of separate which ones who uh, And I don't
- 45:56Speaker 1: know what storyline I guess could have existed unless they
- 46:00Speaker 1: kind of split off in one day to one and
- 46:02Speaker 1: one day to the other. But yeah, they went home.
- 46:06Speaker 1: But I do think it was shocking for most people
- 46:08Speaker 1: because I think well after they shut up, people thought, hey,
- 46:10Speaker 1: they'll be around a while, and the conversation, like Gabby's
- 46:13Speaker 1: facial expressions during that conversation where she kind of sat
- 46:16Speaker 1: in the middle, one on one side and the other
- 46:18Speaker 1: felt like there's no way these guys are around, Like
- 46:21Speaker 1: there's no way this is who she's like going to
- 46:23Speaker 1: try to date long term. Yeah. I have to say
- 46:26Speaker 1: that I relate because when my sister came to Paradise,
- 46:28Speaker 1: as much as I loved having her as like that
- 46:31Speaker 1: emotional crutch, it was not good for me, Like I
- 46:35Speaker 1: just was going to hang out with her and stick
- 46:36Speaker 1: by her side and not go and meet new people.
- 46:39Speaker 1: It's just it was bad. Also, just think I should
- 46:42Speaker 1: add that, um, it is crazy the fact that we
- 46:47Speaker 1: get to we get a set of guy twins for
- 46:50Speaker 1: the first time, right, just like the Ferguson twins, and
- 46:52Speaker 1: it seems like, oh, it's like revolutionary. And then for
- 46:55Speaker 1: them to be like that, it's weird because I'm to
- 46:59Speaker 1: be eliminated at Night one is super crazy. Yeah, we've
- 47:04Speaker 1: found some like more dynamic twins. Well, I think the
- 47:07Speaker 1: casting department probably thought they hit a home run by
- 47:10Speaker 1: finding two good looking guy twins to come on the
- 47:12Speaker 1: show and agree to come on the show, And then
- 47:15Speaker 1: the casting department's watching Night one's episode, they're like, you
- 47:17Speaker 1: gotta be kidding me, Like, we worked so hard for
- 47:20Speaker 1: this moment for years. This was our this is our
- 47:22Speaker 1: big get, and now they're gone. Sure they're upset. Um,
- 47:27Speaker 1: you know, it's hard, Ashley if If, I'm if, we're
- 47:30Speaker 1: both honest to have too much of a judgment on
- 47:33Speaker 1: Night one because it is such a weird environment and
- 47:37Speaker 1: there are a lot of nerves, there's a lot of anxiety.
- 47:39Speaker 1: Some people flourish in it, some people don't, and it
- 47:41Speaker 1: takes them weeks to kind of come out of their
- 47:43Speaker 1: shell and actually show off who they are and what
- 47:46Speaker 1: they stand for. And so, yes, the two of them
- 47:49Speaker 1: didn't shine on Night one, it doesn't mean I mean
- 47:52Speaker 1: they have a social media filling. Maybe they're more comfortable
- 47:55Speaker 1: kind of behind that, but they just didn't show up.
- 47:58Speaker 1: Who are they funny on social media? It? Did you
- 48:00Speaker 1: look this up? I think they dance. I don't know,
- 48:03Speaker 1: and I think it's I think it's like TikTok Tiktoker's well.
- 48:07Speaker 1: The The other person that went home was somebody that
- 48:10Speaker 1: did show up tonight one, and he showed up well,
- 48:12Speaker 1: and he's a memorable character from night one. I want
- 48:20Speaker 1: to date you way. But like audience, I liked Roby.
- 48:25Speaker 1: I thought that dude had something to him that we
- 48:29Speaker 1: need to see more of, and I hope we can
- 48:31Speaker 1: see more of it. I liked Roby. I thought he
- 48:35Speaker 1: had confidence. I thought he put on a tux that
- 48:38Speaker 1: he looked. He played the part um. Yes, he was
- 48:43Speaker 1: probably like not fitting in with the group. But I
- 48:46Speaker 1: I think long term Roby is one of those types
- 48:49Speaker 1: of guys that might like grow on you a bit
- 48:52Speaker 1: and you're like, I could date this dude entertainment for life. Now.
- 48:58Speaker 1: We talked about this with Abby and Rachel, so parton
- 49:01Speaker 1: us if you're kind of sharing this conversation for the
- 49:03Speaker 1: second time. But The fact that they pulled the guys
- 49:06Speaker 1: out to eliminate them instead of doing it at the
- 49:08Speaker 1: Rose ceremony, to me, felt more like a personal out.
- 49:13Speaker 1: At least if you get eliminated at the night one
- 49:15Speaker 1: Rose ceremony, you're like, uh, you know, they didn't get
- 49:18Speaker 1: to know me whatever, But like they pull them aside
- 49:21Speaker 1: and they're like, you know, we did get to know you,
- 49:23Speaker 1: and we don't like it. I know that there's no
- 49:28Speaker 1: right way, as we told them to eliminate people. There
- 49:30Speaker 1: isn't right. I mean there you can think of a
- 49:33Speaker 1: thousand ways to do it. And I do feel like
- 49:35Speaker 1: the personal kind of rejection is uh at the time,
- 49:41Speaker 1: it feels better to do because you're feeling like you're
- 49:44Speaker 1: giving people um that that that time, however, I watched
- 49:50Speaker 1: it and I was just like, oh, how would you
- 49:53Speaker 1: like to be the three dudes that don't even make
- 49:55Speaker 1: it to week two? Like you're just you can't even
- 49:57Speaker 1: you can't even make the cut that didn't exist, like
- 49:59Speaker 1: the you're not having a rows room. You couldn't even
- 50:01Speaker 1: make the cut that did not happen. You couldn't even
- 50:05Speaker 1: make it to the first row ceremony. The connection was
- 50:07Speaker 1: so bad but also what they did was probably the
- 50:12Speaker 1: right thing to do. Did you imagine them going through
- 50:16Speaker 1: like roses or how was it thirty two guys because
- 50:22Speaker 1: Roses and just be like the three that are eliminated
- 50:24Speaker 1: there now, like what they did was right, but it
- 50:27Speaker 1: also is just like it hurt to watch and I
- 50:31Speaker 1: can't imagine, like you know, you you think about the
- 50:34Speaker 1: people going back home. So those guys are on a
- 50:35Speaker 1: flight that night or the next morning to go back home.
- 50:39Speaker 1: They pull up to their parents house or to their apartment.
- 50:42Speaker 1: Their parents like what happened? You're like, I gott eliminated there? Like, oh,
- 50:45Speaker 1: you got eliminated night one day, and they're like, well,
- 50:48Speaker 1: kind of half of night one kind of to make
- 50:54Speaker 1: them feel better. If the girls only talked to half
- 50:58Speaker 1: the guys, that means like that's just for sake of
- 51:00Speaker 1: easy math, say like they talked to fifteen guys, so
- 51:04Speaker 1: then they were rejected from a pile of fifteen guys,
- 51:06Speaker 1: not a pile of thirty. Yeah you're making Yeah, that's nice. Um,
- 51:12Speaker 1: you know this happens now twice, where before the Rose
- 51:15Speaker 1: ceremony even existed, somebody goes home. Last time it was
- 51:18Speaker 1: with Brian if you remember Ryan in the notebook? Uh?
- 51:21Speaker 1: Was that wasn't that night one? Or not night? Was
- 51:23Speaker 1: that the week after? What mean Ryan with the notebook
- 51:28Speaker 1: full of yeah felt yeah that was on to me?
- 51:31Speaker 1: I don't know that one? Was it week one? I
- 51:33Speaker 1: don't know, there's sometime around there. But uh, these two
- 51:37Speaker 1: women they let roby and the two twins I don't
- 51:42Speaker 1: remember there in Haymes unfortunately go home. Uh so they
- 51:46Speaker 1: don't make it to the first rose to me. But
- 51:48Speaker 1: the guys are going on to week two, most of them,
- 51:52Speaker 1: and it's kind of where the episode ends, which brings
- 51:55Speaker 1: us then to the preview for the rest of the season,
- 51:57Speaker 1: which Ashley, you had a lot of feelings on. So
- 52:00Speaker 1: walk us through the preview for the rest of the season.
- 52:03Speaker 1: What were your thoughts? What were you thinking? Uh? And
- 52:05Speaker 1: do you get more excited after watching that preview for
- 52:07Speaker 1: what's going to happen? I get a little concerned after
- 52:11Speaker 1: watching the preview that, um, it's not gonna end happily
- 52:16Speaker 1: for one of them. There's a lot of tears. I
- 52:22Speaker 1: think there will be a guy who well, it's pretty
- 52:25Speaker 1: obvious there will be a guy that goes from like
- 52:28Speaker 1: teams so and so to the other team, and that'll
- 52:31Speaker 1: be hard. We see Rachel get some roses rejected, so
- 52:36Speaker 1: it seems like there will be a time where like
- 52:39Speaker 1: they have to draft their team, and the guys of
- 52:42Speaker 1: course have a say on which team they're going to
- 52:44Speaker 1: go to. It's that mutual or decision um um. And
- 52:49Speaker 1: then I'm just excited where things go with Rachel and
- 52:51Speaker 1: Tino because we see so much of them. Oh my god,
- 52:55Speaker 1: if if something happens with Tino, that would be devastating.
- 53:02Speaker 1: I'm already so invested in them, and I think that
- 53:05Speaker 1: is basically what I gathered from. We also don't see
- 53:08Speaker 1: any like um preview of an engagement. We didn't, But
- 53:14Speaker 1: they're both happy. There was something out. They're both happy. Yeah,
- 53:18Speaker 1: you can be happy and also be single. I would agree.
- 53:22Speaker 1: I wrote a book about it. Yeah, has anybody ever
- 53:25Speaker 1: Has anybody ever left the show and said, yeah, I
- 53:30Speaker 1: got off the show, how was my experience? You know,
- 53:32Speaker 1: tease us will the ending? And then they go I'm miserable.
- 53:36Speaker 1: None of them like I'm miserable, And I've definitely been
- 53:39Speaker 1: people that should have said that. Yeah, I get it. Um.
- 53:43Speaker 1: I think the preview point to some more drama that
- 53:47Speaker 1: we kind of expect. I will say that Tino is
- 53:50Speaker 1: definitely a front runner. I think he is. His storyline
- 53:53Speaker 1: with Rachel is going to be impactful at some level. Uh.
- 53:58Speaker 1: I'm curious to see how this whole like teaming up,
- 54:01Speaker 1: which side are you on? Plays out, because it feels
- 54:04Speaker 1: like a really hard math problem to me, like I
- 54:06Speaker 1: have to pick you, you have to pick me. We
- 54:08Speaker 1: have to be in our top fift team. Now let's
- 54:10Speaker 1: do the the checklist to see if I'm on your
- 54:13Speaker 1: team or if I'm on the other team. I don't
- 54:15Speaker 1: know how that's gonna play out. I'm still curious about that,
- 54:17Speaker 1: but it is gonna be a good season, Ashley. Uh,
- 54:20Speaker 1: and I am still more excited than ever about Gabby
- 54:23Speaker 1: and Rachel and watching them together on television, but also
- 54:25Speaker 1: seeing how their individual experiences play out. So first, it's
- 54:29Speaker 1: a great first episode. We're gonna be back next week
- 54:32Speaker 1: breaking down the second episode. We're gonna have it for
- 54:35Speaker 1: you as soon as we watch it, which will be
- 54:37Speaker 1: like on a Tuesday, I think is when we'll be
