• 0:58
SPEAKER_02: Of course, it is coming from you know, it is incredible.
• 1:03
SPEAKER_02: We've been talking, we talked about Back to the Future, and when people ask about my favorite movies, I always go to like my franchises, my Star Wars or my Lord of the Rings.
• 1:14
SPEAKER_02: But man, it's like I feel like I've disrespected this franchise.
• 1:19
SPEAKER_02: The second one might be better than the first guys.
• 1:21
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
• 1:22
SPEAKER_02: What do you what do you say?
• 1:24
SPEAKER_03: I am actually really excited to discuss Back to the Future 2 because there were there were a lot of parts in this where I was just like, have I seen this movie?
• 1:33
SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, okay, okay, I have seen this movie.
• 1:35
  SPEAKER_03: Alright, yeah.
• 1:36
SPEAKER_03: So I think I've only ever seen this one time, a very long time ago.
• 1:40
SPEAKER_03: Decades ago at this point.
• 1:41
SPEAKER_03: Uh so I am coming at this very fresh.
• 1:44
SPEAKER_03: There were there was like a good 30 minutes where I was just like, man, I've never seen this movie.
• 1:48
  SPEAKER_03: What the heck?
• 1:49
  SPEAKER_03: I I I have always thought I've seen this movie.
• 1:51
SPEAKER_03: And then I remembered like as soon as I got to the the Biff Tannin's uh like casino and everything, I was everything started to click a little bit.
• 1:58
SPEAKER_03: But um, yeah, there I think there are some parts of this film that are strangely forgettable um or weaker, and that probably took me out of the story.
• 2:09
SPEAKER_03: Oh, Rich is giving me the death stare.
• 2:11
SPEAKER_03: Let's let's send it over to Anthony.
• 2:13
SPEAKER_03: Are we excited about today's episode?
• 2:15
SPEAKER_00: We are, you know, and illustrious sickly, Anthony.
• 2:19
SPEAKER_00: You know, yes, but before we, you know, hop into like any deeper discussion about you know back to the future, you know, we we we always do this, we always have like the pre-discussion of the discussion.
• 2:33
SPEAKER_00: Um I want to uh send it over to Rich to see what he has been up to.
• 2:40
SPEAKER_00: Besides Red Dead Redemption and what is it, what what was what what remaster were you playing?
• 2:47
  SPEAKER_02: Oblivion.
• 2:48
  SPEAKER_00: Yes.
• 2:49
  SPEAKER_02: So I uh I don't know what happened.
• 2:51
SPEAKER_02: I actually was playing both of them and generally enjoying them, you know.
• 2:56
SPEAKER_02: But I don't know, sometimes I I I I w I think I in Oblivion I ended up going to the Shiveringer Isles where I'm like trapped with uh this like demon who just messes with everyone's minds and it's very annoying.
• 3:11
SPEAKER_02: And I'm enjoying it, but I'm kind of like stuck in that area right now and I just want to finish it off.
• 3:16
SPEAKER_02: So I start I'd been playing uh Red Dead, but I took a break from that and I was doing Fallout 4 and I don't know, my ADHD is everywhere, so out of nowhere I just decided I was in a by Astrobot.
• 3:29
SPEAKER_02: And uh it has been a delight.
• 3:32
  SPEAKER_02: Just delightful.
• 3:34
SPEAKER_02: Like I love that the the there's a part where you're like playing as Kratos, uh which is just like super cool.
• 3:42
SPEAKER_02: It's got so many references to old PlayStation games.
• 3:45
SPEAKER_02: Oh, and uh like and I watched uh last night Expendables 2, and uh I had uh just a such a great moment.
• 3:53
SPEAKER_02: Uh Chuck I don't know if you guys were into Chuck Norris jokes back in the day.
• 3:57
SPEAKER_02: Uh I was a big Chuck Norris joke.
• 3:58
  SPEAKER_01: Absolutely, yeah.
• 3:59
SPEAKER_02: Right, and in the movie, they asked Chuck Norris, like, How you been?
• 4:03
SPEAKER_02: He's like, Well, you know, I got bit by a snake.
• 4:06
SPEAKER_02: Uh I don't know, touch a go there for a while, five days of pain and agony, but the snake finally died.
• 4:12
SPEAKER_02: And I was like, Oh my goodness, Chuck Norris did a Chuck Norris joke! Like, like Sylvester Stallone just needs to be like praised forever because he brought that to like the screen, you know?
• 4:26
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 4:26
SPEAKER_02: Um, so I was uh I was very enthused.
• 4:31
SPEAKER_02: Uh but uh enough about me.
• 4:34
SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna throw it over to uh Dakota.
• 4:37
SPEAKER_02: What have you been up to?
• 4:38
SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, I know Anthony, you've been playing uh Red Dead Redemption as well.
• 4:43
SPEAKER_03: Um you you you texted us earlier that you you were playing RDR, and I thought that was uh Rance Dance Revolution.
• 4:50
SPEAKER_00: Um hit face that that's my favorite uh sequel to DDR, you know?
• 4:56
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, RDR.
• 4:57
SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, no, I I have not been playing uh Rance Dance Revolution um or Red Dead, but I have been playing an open world game um that I I was pretty into a couple years ago, and then I just kind of fell off.
• 5:10
SPEAKER_03: Uh I think because Hogwarts Legacy came out, and I just totally forgot about this other game.
• 5:15
SPEAKER_03: But I have been replaying Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, or not replaying, I just picked up where I left off, and I'm just enjoying it.
• 5:22
  SPEAKER_03: It's such a massive world.
• 5:24
SPEAKER_03: Like I'm consistently amazed at how like fresh they were able to make Pandora feel for this game, and it's not even places that we visit in the movies, it's like uh another forest, it's another biome where there's like planes and everything, and it's it's just a gorgeous, gorgeous game.
• 5:43
SPEAKER_03: Um, there's so many points where I just like look at the landscape and I cannot believe like someone, you know, some group of people is Ubisoft, um, like put this together.
• 5:54
SPEAKER_03: And I'm I'm so grateful because it is a it's a really fun game.
• 5:56
SPEAKER_03: It is a little tedious, and I think that's why most places gave it like a seven out of ten.
• 6:01
SPEAKER_03: Uh, it's a typical Ubisoft game where you know you get a handful of basic quests that they populate the entire world with, along with the main quests and everything.
• 6:13
SPEAKER_03: But I'm trying to accomplish all the side quests and just complete the map and everything.
• 6:17
  SPEAKER_03: Um, but it's it's massive.
• 6:18
SPEAKER_03: And the what's cool about the map for Frontiers of Pandora is the verticality to it.
• 6:24
SPEAKER_03: So you it most of the game, you're I mean, not most of the game, but like you could just fly forever on your Ekron, and you you can fly up to the the floating mountains, and um so even though like the map is like 250 something kilometers like wide squared, there's also the verticality of like there's so much happening above you and sometimes below you or inside the mountains, and it's just there's a lot to it.
• 6:54
  SPEAKER_03: I'm I'm really enjoying it.
• 6:56
SPEAKER_03: And yeah, I feel like there was something.
• 6:59
SPEAKER_03: Oh, I I started watching before we get into that.
• 7:02
SPEAKER_03: I I'm just like really into Avatar right now.
• 7:05
SPEAKER_03: I'm getting I'm getting into the groove, especially going into Fire and Ash in I think two weeks' time.
• 7:11
SPEAKER_03: I already have my tickets for opening weekends, and I'm I'm very excited.
• 7:16
  SPEAKER_03: Stoked even.
• 7:18
SPEAKER_03: Uh like Fire and Ash.
• 7:21
  SPEAKER_03: Stoked.
• 7:22
  SPEAKER_03: Get it?
• 7:23
SPEAKER_03: Um that was an unintentional pun, actually.
• 7:27
SPEAKER_03: I but you know what?
• 7:28
  SPEAKER_03: Here I am.
• 7:29
SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, so I just started watching season five of Stranger Things right before we started recording.
• 7:34
  SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
• 7:34
SPEAKER_03: Uh I have you watched uh five episodes so far, or did you just start it?
• 7:40
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, no.
• 7:41
  SPEAKER_02: I um I'm a degenerate and I binged it like I think in a in a sitting in a sitting.
• 7:46
SPEAKER_02: Like a way it came out at eight o'clock on Thanksgiving night.
• 7:48
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
• 7:49
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 7:49
  SPEAKER_03: I I finished it Friday morning.
• 7:51
  SPEAKER_03: Very good.
• 7:52
SPEAKER_03: I did not do that.
• 7:55
SPEAKER_03: I just started uh I think it's December 4th at this point.
• 7:59
  SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah.
• 8:00
SPEAKER_03: So I am not a degenerate, but I am enjoying it.
• 8:04
SPEAKER_03: And um I am actually, you know, I am a degenerate in some ways, you know, like I will just sit and obsess over something for an insane amount of time and sometimes, sometimes spit out content for it.
• 8:18
SPEAKER_03: Um but do you and I'm do you uh I'm debating it.
• 8:21
SPEAKER_03: I'm debating it for Stranger Things, there's also debating it for Avatar.
• 8:24
SPEAKER_02: I mean I want to ask Anthony this too.
• 8:26
SPEAKER_02: Like my thing with like Stranger Things is like I really like the series, right?
• 8:30
SPEAKER_02: And my fear would like that one of the reasons why like when it comes out, like I kind of hate binge watching because I feel like I lose a lot and I like you know, I you guys know I like to rewatch like an episode before I watch the next one, and I don't do that when I binge, but like I feel I feel like I have to rush to do it because I'm scared that I'm gonna go on like Twitter and someone's gonna spoil it for me.
• 8:51
SPEAKER_03: For Stranger Things, honestly, I don't feel that way at all, just because so long there there's like so uh such gaps between seasons.
• 9:02
SPEAKER_03: I think the last season was like three or two or three years ago, or it was like in 2022 or something that I don't even remember what happened.
• 9:10
SPEAKER_03: I'm watching the recap and I'm like, oh yeah, there was that girl Max.
• 9:13
SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, okay, they're maybe dating.
• 9:16
SPEAKER_03: Uh so I don't I don't remember anything, and then I just go in fresh.
• 9:20
SPEAKER_03: Anthony, what do you thought?
• 9:21
  SPEAKER_03: What are your thoughts?
• 9:22
  SPEAKER_00: On Stranger Things?
• 9:24
  SPEAKER_00: I haven't started it yet.
• 9:25
SPEAKER_03: No, like if you uh Rich has a fear that with certain things it's not necessarily a fear of missing out, it's a fear of miss of being spoiled, so he has to watch it immediately.
• 9:36
SPEAKER_03: Do you ever get that with anything?
• 9:37
SPEAKER_00: No, because I I really don't care to get on social media.
• 9:41
SPEAKER_00: I really I literally mostly get on to social media to post these episodes.
• 9:47
  SPEAKER_00: I don't I don't really care for social media.
• 9:49
SPEAKER_00: It's an it's quite annoying to be to be frank.
• 9:52
SPEAKER_00: So I don't really get spoiled unless it's like s like an article that was like posted, you know, like because I do get like you know, I do read like articles of stuff, so I mean usually they warn of spoilers, but um That's wild that you have a computer job and you're not on social media.
• 10:12
SPEAKER_03: I've you you might be one of the few.
• 10:14
SPEAKER_00: No, I mean I would say the only social media job that really are or the the only social media that really matters in a tech job is LinkedIn.
• 10:25
  SPEAKER_00: That's it.
• 10:25
SPEAKER_00: Oh you know what what what what do I need Twitter for?
• 10:29
SPEAKER_00: What uh what do I need Facebook for?
• 10:32
  SPEAKER_00: You know, job wise.
• 10:33
SPEAKER_03: So I mean no, not job wise, I'm saying like just you're around tech, so right.
• 10:38
SPEAKER_00: Well, I mean the thing is is that like I love tech, but that doesn't mean that I need to love social media, you know?
• 10:45
SPEAKER_00: It's like something that's completely different, you know.
• 10:47
  SPEAKER_00: It's no that's a good attitude to have.
• 10:49
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 10:50
SPEAKER_00: I mean, I still have it, you know, and from time to time I do hop on, you know, and like I'll I'll message friends and stuff, but I don't yeah, like I don't get really spoiled like that because I'm not on it all the time like that.
• 11:04
SPEAKER_03: Nah man, I'm doom scrolling as we speak.
• 11:06
  SPEAKER_00: I know, man.
• 11:10
SPEAKER_03: Um Anthony, I'm wait, before I give it up to you, I don't think I have anything else, but um I am really excited to hear about last week because you you did something that uh neither Rich nor I have done.
• 11:25
SPEAKER_03: And uh yeah, please tell us about your trip to Orlando.
• 11:29
  SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, man.
• 11:30
SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, I just saw some family and yeah, that's it, man.
• 11:35
SPEAKER_03: Uh and by family you mean uh Frankenstein and uh Dolores Umbridge.
• 11:44
  SPEAKER_00: Man, I didn't see anybody, dude.
• 11:46
SPEAKER_00: I did not Yeah, man.
• 11:48
SPEAKER_00: I I went to uh Universal Epic Universe.
• 11:53
SPEAKER_00: And it was pretty cool, man.
• 11:54
  SPEAKER_00: I I enjoyed it.
• 11:55
SPEAKER_00: I liked the way that they had the setup of each land.
• 11:59
SPEAKER_00: They wanted you to feel immersed, so they had each land the way to get through it was by like stepping through a a quote unquote port portal, you know.
• 12:09
SPEAKER_03: Did it feel like a portal?
• 12:11
SPEAKER_03: Like the the actual commercials and everything, it's like it it makes it seem as though like you are like going into another world by entering those portals.
• 12:20
SPEAKER_00: The only one that really like knock that knocks it out of park because you're like walking through kind of like like pretty much like a a tunnel, right?
• 12:28
  SPEAKER_03: It's a tube, yeah.
• 12:29
  SPEAKER_03: It's a yeah.
• 12:30
SPEAKER_00: And the one that like really like kills it with that is the Mario one because you're I mean Mario, you're you go through tubes in the game, right?
• 12:37
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 12:38
SPEAKER_00: So um, I mean it it was really good though.
• 12:41
SPEAKER_00: Like I let I love the the immersion, the the area with uh the Harry Potter area was really cool, you know.
• 12:50
SPEAKER_00: They had the Ministry of Magic, and then they had like the the carnival that was in uh Fantastic Beasts.
• 12:58
SPEAKER_00: So they had like a lot of like Fantastic Beast stuff there, which is really cool because I enjoy at least the first movie, I really enjoyed the first one of those.
• 13:08
SPEAKER_03: Um do you think that uh obviously the Harry Potter films are huge?
• 13:14
SPEAKER_03: Fantastic Beasts uh maybe the first one performed well.
• 13:18
SPEAKER_03: Do you think it was it's worth recreating sets or ideas from essentially a failed side series?
• 13:28
SPEAKER_03: Because they're not doing it anymore.
• 13:30
SPEAKER_03: It was supposed to be five films, they're they stopped after three in like a place like a universal.
• 13:35
SPEAKER_00: Well, I feel like if you're gonna do it, at least grab stuff from the the one film that was good, you know?
• 13:42
SPEAKER_00: Fair so so I mean I enjoyed it.
• 13:45
SPEAKER_00: I mean, like I said, I I really did like that first movie a lot, and so they did have elements.
• 13:49
SPEAKER_00: I mean, that that carnival was that that was from the first one, right?
• 13:55
  SPEAKER_00: With Nagini in it?
• 13:56
  SPEAKER_03: I believe so, yes.
• 13:57
SPEAKER_03: It was N was Nagini there.
• 13:59
  SPEAKER_00: Um what happened?
• 14:00
SPEAKER_03: Is is Nagini in Universal?
• 14:02
  SPEAKER_00: No, no, no.
• 14:03
SPEAKER_00: No, Nagini is not in Universal.
• 14:05
  SPEAKER_03: She broke free already?
• 14:06
SPEAKER_00: She broke yeah, man, she broke free.
• 14:08
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 14:09
SPEAKER_00: This the that uh they had like a show and it like takes place after uh Newt's commander uh like kind of breaks all the animals out, so or all the creatures, so but um the battle for the ministry was pretty fun.
• 14:24
SPEAKER_00: It was kind of like Did you go on the Hogwarts ride?
• 14:28
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's it's been a while.
• 14:30
SPEAKER_00: It's very similar to that, like you're sitting and like you're kind of moving around and stuff and into different scenes.
• 14:35
  SPEAKER_00: Right, right, right, right.
• 14:36
SPEAKER_00: Um you know, but it uh it was still like really fun.
• 14:39
SPEAKER_00: So like I really enjoyed that.
• 14:41
  SPEAKER_00: The Dark Universe weapon?
• 14:43
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, sorry.
• 14:44
SPEAKER_03: Of the tell me about Dark Universe, and then I'll I'll ask my question.
• 14:48
SPEAKER_00: Dark the Dark Universe was really, really cool.
• 14:51
SPEAKER_00: Um I like how they went about it.
• 14:54
SPEAKER_00: The one of the rides for that was very similar to to the battle for the ministry, like you're sitting in something and you're kind of moving around, but there's also like you know, animatronic tronics and screenshots.
• 15:06
SPEAKER_03: What is the dark universe?
• 15:08
SPEAKER_00: Uh that's the universal monsters.
• 15:10
SPEAKER_03: It's the universal monsters, Frankenstein werewolf.
• 15:12
  SPEAKER_03: Right, right.
• 15:13
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, cool.
• 15:13
  SPEAKER_01: All right, awesome.
• 15:15
SPEAKER_00: And so that one was really cool because like they they actually showed like a lot of like monsters in that one.
• 15:21
SPEAKER_00: You know, it had like Frankenstein, it had Dracula in it, dude.
• 15:25
SPEAKER_00: Like it also had like Wolfman, creature from the Black Lagoon.
• 15:29
SPEAKER_00: Like, I really like feel like they're they're trying to like well, I mean, there is a Frankenstein movie that just came out that's on Netflix, but I feel like it doesn't make sense.
• 15:37
SPEAKER_00: That's not that's not connected to anything Universal.
• 15:41
SPEAKER_00: But like for me, it doesn't make sense for them to create a park like this if they don't have plans to bring them back, you know, in a big way.
• 15:49
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we should cover the uh Guillermo del Toro Frankenstein movie.
• 15:53
SPEAKER_03: I haven't seen it yet, but I yeah, I heard it was pretty good.
• 15:55
SPEAKER_00: I'd like I'd like to like I I want to watch it.
• 15:58
SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I heard it was really good.
• 16:00
SPEAKER_00: There was also like a roller coaster.
• 16:02
  SPEAKER_00: Uh what happened?
• 16:03
SPEAKER_03: You want to do that for next week?
• 16:04
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we could do that next week.
• 16:05
SPEAKER_03: Nice simple Guillermo del Toro movie.
• 16:08
  SPEAKER_03: Rich, what's up?
• 16:09
  SPEAKER_03: Clock it.
• 16:10
  SPEAKER_03: Clock it.
• 16:11
SPEAKER_03: Episode 144 will be Frankenstein themed.
• 16:15
SPEAKER_02: My students would be so proud of me.
• 16:18
SPEAKER_00: But yeah, they um, you know, they had like a Wolfman ride.
• 16:22
SPEAKER_00: That that was a roller coaster that was uh pretty fun because like a you would like kind of like spin around in that one.
• 16:28
SPEAKER_03: I I hear that um while while the the Super Mario Land and the Dark Universe land Super Mario Land?
• 16:37
  SPEAKER_03: Oh yes.
• 16:38
  SPEAKER_03: Super Mario.
• 16:39
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 16:39
  SPEAKER_02: Super Mario.
• 16:40
SPEAKER_00: No, they there, but there were no horses there.
• 16:42
SPEAKER_02: No, you you just said it's super weird.
• 16:43
SPEAKER_02: I just wanted to you were pronouncing it kind of weird, so I just wanted to Wait, actually, how did I pronounce it?
• 16:48
  SPEAKER_03: I don't actually know.
• 16:49
  SPEAKER_03: You said Super Mario?
• 16:51
  SPEAKER_03: I don't I don't know.
• 16:51
  SPEAKER_03: It was Super Mario.
• 16:52
SPEAKER_02: Oh super Mario uh Super Mario.
• 16:57
SPEAKER_02: Oh wait, can I just can I just uh I just Anthony, I I gotta tell the audience, all right?
• 17:02
SPEAKER_02: So Anthony, when he went on his last trip, he sent some pictures, and I just kept finding like I found a part in Red Dead Redemption that I thought like it looked like when he when he was on vacation.
• 17:12
SPEAKER_02: He sent us another picture of like an archery range.
• 17:14
SPEAKER_02: I found one in Oblivion that I sent him the picture, right?
• 17:18
SPEAKER_02: So he goes on this trip, and I'm I I felt like he just gave me a gift.
• 17:22
SPEAKER_02: The first picture he sends us is of the Mario world, right?
• 17:26
SPEAKER_02: So I'm obviously playing Odyssey, and I'm like, dude, that's literally just Mario, like because it's just the fountain, right?
• 17:33
SPEAKER_02: Like I was like, this is too easy.
• 17:35
SPEAKER_02: Uh so uh no, but uh all jokes aside, uh you're it looked like you had a uh fantastic time for the pictures, man.
• 17:42
SPEAKER_02: It's it looks like so cool.
• 17:44
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, that that that was it was really fun.
• 17:47
SPEAKER_00: Um, like honestly to tell you the truth, like I was able to pretty much hit like most of the rides.
• 17:53
SPEAKER_00: Like, surprisingly enough, the the one ride that actually took the longest, like we, you know, got to go on to the Mario Kart ride, but believe it or not, the longest ride that like took forever to get onto was the Donkey Kong one.
• 18:07
SPEAKER_00: And it was actually really fun.
• 18:08
SPEAKER_00: Like the Donkey Kong ride was was like cool because they had a a Donkey Kong crunch country like area towards the back.
• 18:15
  SPEAKER_03: Nice.
• 18:17
SPEAKER_03: I I know that the Nintendo area, I'm gonna steer clear of the M-word here.
• 18:22
SPEAKER_00: I mean that that it's actually called like Super Nintendo Land or something like that.
• 18:27
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, okay.
• 18:28
SPEAKER_03: So Super Nintendo Land, perfect.
• 18:30
SPEAKER_03: I I I know that that and like Dark Universe are often uh, you know, hailed for their immersion, but I I what I have heard is that the how to train your dragon, the Isle of Burke, is actually the best, it's like the hidden gem of Epic Universe in terms of immersion and like just feeling like you're actually there.
• 18:51
SPEAKER_03: Do you agree with that or how do you feel?
• 18:54
SPEAKER_00: I think that they they all have like their their like pluses, but the Isle of Burke was really cool.
• 19:01
SPEAKER_00: I we got to go on we got to go on the roller coaster on that one, and yeah, it was it was really fun.
• 19:08
  SPEAKER_00: I I really enjoyed it.
• 19:10
SPEAKER_00: Like I said, man, each land was like pretty cool, and you know, obviously they're going to expand, you know, they're they they have to, and I think that that's why they've built it so far away from from the other universal, like it's not super far, but it's far enough for them to expand, you know.
• 19:28
SPEAKER_03: And oh, I think aren't they I I have a feeling the next one is gonna be like wicked themed.
• 19:34
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, maybe.
• 19:35
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's it.
• 19:36
SPEAKER_03: I mean it's it's a huge film, so so um so we so we were able to ride everything that you wanted to ride, yeah.
• 19:43
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, did you have any fast pass or anything?
• 19:45
  SPEAKER_03: No, no, that's awesome.
• 19:47
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and and like it was cool because like there were certain aspects of the park that was only open to yeah, people that were staying at the hotel, but like while we were waiting to get into Into like the Nintendo land, uh, somebody passed by, like, one of the workers they were like, Hey, the Harry Potter stuff's open, so we're like, Yeah, like you know what?
• 20:07
SPEAKER_00: Let's just book it over there.
• 20:09
SPEAKER_00: So we we hopped onto that and we we were able to catch that.
• 20:13
SPEAKER_00: And then after, like, believe it or not, like after catching like a bunch of the rides, like we actually were able to catch some of the shows.
• 20:20
SPEAKER_00: Like, we caught the show at uh the Isle of Burke.
• 20:23
SPEAKER_00: They uh it was like the un uh Untrainable Dragon.
• 20:26
  SPEAKER_00: That was pretty cool.
• 20:28
SPEAKER_00: We also the the one that was in um in Harry Potter that was like in the circus tent, they had a show for that.
• 20:34
SPEAKER_00: That one was pretty cool.
• 20:36
  SPEAKER_00: So so yeah, man.
• 20:37
  SPEAKER_00: That's awesome, bro.
• 20:38
SPEAKER_00: There there was, I don't know if you all read that there was somebody who died on one of the rides.
• 20:44
  SPEAKER_00: Yes.
• 20:45
SPEAKER_00: Um, that like the star the stardust chaser.
• 20:48
SPEAKER_00: I went on that ride.
• 20:49
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I can see why.
• 20:51
SPEAKER_00: That like dude, like I would like I was getting beaten up on that ride.
• 20:56
SPEAKER_00: It was so intense, like I was lifting out of my seat, dude.
• 21:00
SPEAKER_00: It would it kind of freaked me out.
• 21:01
SPEAKER_00: And then by the time that that that the ride was done, like I was like super nauseous.
• 21:06
SPEAKER_00: Like I had to like kind of like stop and like kind of breathe because I was about to hurl, bro.
• 21:10
SPEAKER_00: Like I was that ride was too intense.
• 21:12
SPEAKER_00: I was like, never again, not that one.
• 21:14
  SPEAKER_00: It was too much.
• 21:15
SPEAKER_00: It was like way, way it was like when I say like you're going fast, like like you're like there's moments where like you're going at like you know, just like a regular like speed, and then it's like friggin' like hyper speed, like and and like I felt like my neck was gonna like snap off, dude.
• 21:31
  SPEAKER_00: I was like, whoa.
• 21:32
SPEAKER_00: So yeah, like yeah, man, it was that one was rough.
• 21:36
SPEAKER_03: Well, there you have it, folks.
• 21:38
SPEAKER_03: That seems like a really awesome time.
• 21:39
  SPEAKER_03: I I'm like I'm very excited to go.
• 21:41
SPEAKER_03: I don't know when I will be going, but probably soon.
• 21:46
  SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
• 21:47
SPEAKER_00: That's just like a smuggle Rich and I in with you when you go.
• 21:52
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, I definitely will.
• 21:53
SPEAKER_03: We'll we'll do a podcast on uh Stardust Racers.
• 21:57
SPEAKER_03: And uh that would be insane.
• 22:00
  SPEAKER_03: We'll record our screams.
• 22:01
SPEAKER_00: Actually, believe it or not, actually, I'm gonna I'm gonna leave it off on this.
• 22:04
SPEAKER_00: And this is the first time out of all the rides that I've been on in my life, I have never been on a ride that they're like you have to make sure that everything is out of your pockets.
• 22:15
SPEAKER_00: They have like lockers there, and then when you go upstairs from the lockers, you actually have to walk through a metal detector to make sure that there's like no like things that are snap.
• 22:27
SPEAKER_00: I've never been on a ride that did that.
• 22:29
SPEAKER_00: That I was like, oh, and then like when when when when I when I finished, I was like, okay, yeah, now I understand because I'm pretty sure that my my phone would be in Kissimmee right now if I had it in my pocket.
• 22:42
  SPEAKER_03: Wow.
• 22:43
SPEAKER_03: Well, you know what also is pretty epic uh in its universe is Biff Tannin's Pleasure Paradise.
• 22:50
SPEAKER_03: And I think we should uh change our discussion over to Back to the Future 2, where we get to experience a little bit of uh Biff Tannin's um life and just enjoy uh the hero of this of this story a little bit, you know, and his pleasure palace.
• 23:10
  SPEAKER_03: I mean I love Biff.
• 23:12
  SPEAKER_03: I just I think after this movie, I'm I'm a diehard Biff fan.
• 23:16
  SPEAKER_03: Like, I am so pro-Biff.
• 23:19
  SPEAKER_03: He stopped school.
• 23:20
SPEAKER_03: How many people do you know that can just stop school from happening for everybody?
• 23:26
  SPEAKER_03: That's pretty awesome.
• 23:29
SPEAKER_00: I mean, he the the actor that plays Biff, like he he just he nails it.
• 23:34
SPEAKER_00: Like, I mean, he the performance that that he that he did in in the first movie, like it rolls right over into this one.
• 23:42
SPEAKER_03: Um you know which performance didn't roll over into this one?
• 23:47
  SPEAKER_03: Jennifer?
• 23:48
  SPEAKER_03: Jennifer.
• 23:49
SPEAKER_03: I looked at that face, I was like, that's not Jennifer.
• 23:53
SPEAKER_02: Um this was um Elizabeth Shu.
• 23:57
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was uh it's a big like I don't know about you guys.
• 24:00
SPEAKER_02: I I don't I'm not even sure if at the time of the movie it would have been a huge deal, but like I love Elizabeth Shu, Adventures of Babysitting, and stuff like that.
• 24:09
SPEAKER_02: So I I've always thought she was fantastic, and so I thought this was a pretty big move.
• 24:14
SPEAKER_02: Like, and I think she's a much better actress than the first Jennifer, to be fair.
• 24:18
SPEAKER_02: But I think it's I had to do it.
• 24:19
  SPEAKER_03: I don't remember her being a bad actress.
• 24:23
  SPEAKER_02: I think also.
• 24:25
  SPEAKER_02: Why?
• 24:25
SPEAKER_02: Uh I believe if you look this up, this is uh I feel like that actress was a little taller and they wanted someone who's gonna be shorter than Marty.
• 24:38
SPEAKER_02: So they went with Elizabeth Shu.
• 24:41
SPEAKER_00: No, I think I think the reason why the other actress didn't come back was because there was some family stuff going on.
• 24:47
SPEAKER_00: Like I think there was like a family like health thing going on.
• 24:51
  SPEAKER_00: I don't think yeah.
• 24:52
SPEAKER_00: Uh I don't think it had anything to do with height.
• 24:55
  SPEAKER_03: Anthony looked this up.
• 24:57
  SPEAKER_03: Actually he did, yeah.
• 24:59
  SPEAKER_03: I I know, I can tell.
• 25:02
SPEAKER_02: Uh maybe I heard that in one of these weird uh videos.
• 25:06
SPEAKER_02: One of these weird podcasts that uh probably heard it in some AI slob video.
• 25:11
  SPEAKER_01: Oh god.
• 25:11
SPEAKER_02: Curses, he is uh Anthony, you're correct.
• 25:14
  SPEAKER_02: I stand corrected.
• 25:15
SPEAKER_02: I uh I imagine I must have made this short man's uh nightmare uh bring into the forefront, but uh it's not that that's what that's not what it was at all.
• 25:25
SPEAKER_03: You you dreamt of this.
• 25:26
SPEAKER_03: You dreamt of this, Rich.
• 25:28
  SPEAKER_03: It was very it was it's a it's a frightening.
• 25:30
  SPEAKER_02: It's a Mandela effect, I think.
• 25:31
SPEAKER_02: This is a Mandela effect.
• 25:32
SPEAKER_02: I think like in my world it happened.
• 25:34
  SPEAKER_03: Oh my goodness.
• 25:35
SPEAKER_03: Anyway, we got a new Jennifer, they fridge her immediately.
• 25:39
  SPEAKER_03: That's crazy.
• 25:40
SPEAKER_03: They they get into the future.
• 25:43
SPEAKER_03: Why did they even bring her?
• 25:44
SPEAKER_03: Oh there was some weird planning in this in this movie because like they uh it's something about your children, uh Marty, and then they fly off, and it's not it's kinda about the children.
• 26:00
  SPEAKER_03: It's such a strange setup.
• 26:02
SPEAKER_03: And I feel like they didn't actually want to tell that story when they decided to or like when they got into this next movie, basically.
• 26:12
SPEAKER_03: It's like they they wanted to just get rid of that plot line within the first 15-20 minutes so that they can actually tell the story that they wanted to tell when they actually wrote the script.
• 26:22
SPEAKER_03: Am I am I wrong in that?
• 26:23
SPEAKER_03: It kind of just feels like they brushed that storyline.
• 26:26
SPEAKER_00: Well, I think that they needed a reason for them to be in the future for old Biff to like steal the to steal the the DeLorean to go back in the past, you know.
• 26:39
SPEAKER_00: So like, yeah, like that that being the real story that, you know, uh Biff making himself rich, and then Marty and Doc having to fix that timeline.
• 26:49
SPEAKER_00: So I think they needed some sort of storyline that brought them to the future.
• 26:55
SPEAKER_00: Which that future was 10 years ago in October.
• 26:58
  SPEAKER_02: Well touched on that.
• 26:59
SPEAKER_00: We're still not flying, bro.
• 27:01
SPEAKER_00: We are not flying, and we don't wear clothes like that.
• 27:04
SPEAKER_02: He's rage baiting me, he's rage baiting me because before the show started.
• 27:09
SPEAKER_00: All right, listen to me.
• 27:11
SPEAKER_00: Rich wanted to wear those clothes, like he wanted those Nikes that tied themselves.
• 27:16
SPEAKER_00: Do we have to do that?
• 27:18
SPEAKER_00: He wanted them self-adjusting jackets, he wanted a hoverboard.
• 27:24
SPEAKER_02: Everything, the diner, that's so cool.
• 27:26
SPEAKER_02: Like everything about it is so cool.
• 27:29
SPEAKER_02: And like the the shark jumping out of the movie theater thing, like everything.
• 27:34
SPEAKER_02: And I'm just this is gonna sound just so whiny, but like I'm just so angry.
• 27:40
SPEAKER_02: Like, I watched that movie, and like every year it got closer, and it was so weird.
• 27:45
SPEAKER_02: It was so weird for like 2015 to pass, like when it when it happened, you know, and you got one step closer to the the Miami uh versus the Cubs World Series because the Marl the Florida Marlins have changed their name to the Miami Marlins, they're both currently in the National League, but they so they can't technically be in the World Series yet.
• 28:06
SPEAKER_02: But Major League Baseball is planning uh some sort of a uh realignment.
• 28:12
SPEAKER_02: So it would be interesting to find out that somehow maybe uh this too late, Rich.
• 28:19
SPEAKER_00: It had to be in 2015.
• 28:21
  SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
• 28:21
SPEAKER_02: I mean and the Cubs will have a realigning in our calendar system like our dating system.
• 28:27
SPEAKER_02: I think the Cubs won it in 2000.
• 28:29
SPEAKER_02: I think the Cubs like it or the Cubs were in like the playoffs and almost made it to the World Series that year.
• 28:35
SPEAKER_02: Like people were like, oh my goodness, like Yeah, there was a bunch of stuff like that.
• 28:40
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like that was you know that that was pretty cool.
• 28:43
SPEAKER_02: I mean it's yeah, but that you just got me you got me really angry there.
• 28:49
SPEAKER_02: But I I um what what did you The kid what about the future?
• 28:54
SPEAKER_03: It was the kid's what about the future did you want most?
• 28:56
  SPEAKER_02: Wait, hold on.
• 28:57
SPEAKER_02: It was the kids thing, or I wanted to address the like because so at the end of the first movie, and they do this in every movie.
• 29:03
SPEAKER_02: Um, I don't know if you guys know this, but two and three were almost shot concurrently, basically.
• 29:09
SPEAKER_03: So Yeah, they have to have because they they have that trailer at the end of the movie, yeah uh prior to the credits, which means that it was part of the original.
• 29:17
SPEAKER_02: At the end of the first one, that's when he says, We gotta go help your kids, right?
• 29:21
SPEAKER_02: So I think that one, he does that, but also I think it's Doc Brown's like morality about time travel, right?
• 29:29
SPEAKER_02: He generally so like in that one he he bring brings Marty because he wants to make sure that Marty's son doesn't go to prison, right?
• 29:38
SPEAKER_02: Uh although Marty is in bad shape himself, like he's not doing good, he's making deals with needles and getting himself in trouble.
• 29:46
SPEAKER_02: So he's he, you know, and obviously we you know we see what happens to the mom and everything, but it it's like he wasn't doing it for them, he was he he was doing it for the kids.
• 29:55
SPEAKER_02: Like he felt like, okay, even though I don't like doing this, like I can't let Marty's kid go like Marty made bad decisions, but I can't let Marty's kid go to jail, you know.
• 30:05
SPEAKER_02: Um right, because that's that's yeah, before the branch timeline, like that's what's going on there, right?
• 30:12
  SPEAKER_03: Correct.
• 30:13
SPEAKER_03: But I don't think that that would be was there any reason to believe that that was the doc's fault?
• 30:21
SPEAKER_02: No, no, not that it was Doc's fault, but that Doc like Doc would like oh I'm I'm I don't think that Doc would judging by like the way he kind of speaks about time travel and he doesn't like any interaction, like he literally just wanted to help Marty's kid not go to jail.
• 30:40
  SPEAKER_02: Right?
• 30:41
SPEAKER_02: Okay, but like he didn't stop Marty from making all those bad decisions, right?
• 30:46
SPEAKER_02: Like he hurt that hurt his hand or that that he couldn't play music anymore, and then he started making bad decisions.
• 30:52
SPEAKER_02: Like he doesn't tell Marty and Jennifer, like you need to come back with me because like we need to stop you from making bad decisions.
• 31:00
SPEAKER_02: He like his morality is like no, uh okay, fine, but it's Marty's kid, you know, like it's something about it being the kid.
• 31:08
SPEAKER_03: Um okay, I see where you're coming from.
• 31:11
SPEAKER_03: I don't think it really holds up under scrutiny, um, but in the movie, okay, you just kind of roll with it.
• 31:22
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I and I think that's what we just kind of have to do as a podcast here.
• 31:26
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 31:26
SPEAKER_03: Um but I could do this for hours, guys.
• 31:31
SPEAKER_03: I'm not trying to like stop the conversation there.
• 31:33
SPEAKER_03: I just like I I think we can talk in circles about this because it is a very cyclical concept of like you change one thing, why not change another thing?
• 31:42
SPEAKER_03: Why change this, but not something else, you know?
• 31:44
SPEAKER_00: All I can think about is like the older Biff like with his cane.
• 31:48
  SPEAKER_00: Hello, hello.
• 31:50
  SPEAKER_03: That was really funny.
• 31:52
SPEAKER_03: Okay, actually, I'm really impressed in both of these movies, both uh one and two, that a primarily young cast outside of Emmett Brown is capable of playing many, like many different age ranges, you know?
• 32:11
SPEAKER_03: Um, and and parallel universe versions and uh some gender-bent roles.
• 32:17
SPEAKER_00: Yes, Marty has his own daughter, dude.
• 32:20
  SPEAKER_00: That was ridiculous.
• 32:21
  SPEAKER_00: I forgot about that.
• 32:23
SPEAKER_00: And like when she comes like when she comes downstairs, like the way it's like, Mom, is that you?
• 32:28
SPEAKER_00: And like you see that it's him.
• 32:30
  SPEAKER_00: I like that.
• 32:31
  SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh, dude.
• 32:32
SPEAKER_00: That I will say that even though this movie does have like have its flaws, like it's still hard to not have fun with it.
• 32:40
SPEAKER_00: Like, and it's exactly what it's supposed to be, a fun movie, right?
• 32:43
SPEAKER_03: I like how whenever we say anything slightly edging towards negative, Rich gets this look on his face, like, what did you say?
• 32:51
SPEAKER_03: What did you say about my favorite movie?
• 32:53
SPEAKER_02: Like, I'll tell you this, like so Lauren uh you know, Lauren knows we're cover covering the movies, and she's like, wait a minute, you guys are gonna do that that that terrible third one, are you?
• 33:04
SPEAKER_02: And I was like, What are you talking about?
• 33:07
SPEAKER_02: That one might be the best one.
• 33:09
  SPEAKER_02: She's like, you can't think this is a western I I just it's like the pirate for me, I don't know.
• 33:16
SPEAKER_02: It's the only other series that I'm like this about is Pirates of the Caribbean.
• 33:20
SPEAKER_02: It's like it can do no wrong.
• 33:22
SPEAKER_02: Like I just love the notion, the idea of it.
• 33:28
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know what it is.
• 33:30
SPEAKER_03: I just absolutely Oh, you're not just talking about the third pirates, you're talking about pirates in general.
• 33:35
SPEAKER_03: Like the whole pirates, the idea of the world is so enthralling of that the best yeah, you know we gotta cover some pirates movies one of these days.
• 33:44
SPEAKER_02: So I this this one just continues for me.
• 33:48
SPEAKER_02: Uh and I like you said I love the range that all these actors show.
• 33:53
SPEAKER_02: And you know, uh I I I would say that Biff is almost if you kind of do a line through the series, like Marty essentially plays very similar versions of e even if when he's a sister, like but he's only brief, but like he plays kind of very similar versions of himself, you know, like his his son version, his dad version, or uh his older version are very similar.
• 34:17
SPEAKER_02: But Biff has the best range, I think, of any actor in the series because you know he really I mean, he's got this biff, and then and then he's gonna do another biff that's like you know, this western biff.
• 34:29
SPEAKER_02: Like it's he's just a great, and then if you listen to the guy talk, he's like the sweetest man.
• 34:34
SPEAKER_02: Like he right, he's like the nicest guy.
• 34:37
SPEAKER_02: Uh he's a sweet, like a gentle soul, but Biff is the hero.
• 34:41
SPEAKER_03: Biff is the hero, guys.
• 34:43
SPEAKER_02: I mean, he does get the girl.
• 34:44
SPEAKER_02: I mean the doc is the villain.
• 34:47
SPEAKER_00: He's the I feel like we've heard this argument before with with uh someone from Smallville.
• 34:54
SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, do you guys know uh DVDA?
• 34:57
SPEAKER_02: Uh it's the band of Matt Parker and Trey Stone, the creators of South Park.
• 35:03
SPEAKER_03: Um I feel like I have heard of it.
• 35:06
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 35:06
SPEAKER_02: So like they uh they they wrote the music for like Orgasmo and they performed it, and then they kind of perform a lot of music.
• 35:12
SPEAKER_02: So there's this one song, like, and it the lyric is uh what makes a man is it um is it his quest for glory, or is it um the size of his what woman's chest, and they go, It's probably the uh the the chest, and then they just kind of like refer to that.
• 35:31
SPEAKER_02: And when you said that Biftan is the the hero here, according to the movie Orgasmo in that song, and what uh they did to Marty's mom, which was I mean, Marty McFly's face, and like I it's so perfect, right?
• 35:47
SPEAKER_02: Like, I don't know what would you do if suddenly you saw your mom in like a like lounge dress with like implants out of nowhere, you know?
• 35:57
  SPEAKER_02: It was this horrifying.
• 36:00
SPEAKER_03: It would be it would be uh an eye-opening experience.
• 36:04
  SPEAKER_00: It's so fun.
• 36:06
SPEAKER_00: It's so funny because it's like this is like the second time that he's been like mortified by his mother.
• 36:13
  SPEAKER_03: Yes.
• 36:14
SPEAKER_03: Uh it's it's every movie with this guy.
• 36:17
SPEAKER_03: Um, yeah, I I love the the shock.
• 36:20
SPEAKER_03: I love that he just can't wrap his mind around it, and he keeps like trying to draw attention to it, but like she just brushes it off.
• 36:27
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 36:28
SPEAKER_03: Biff was a hero for that, you know?
• 36:30
  SPEAKER_03: I guess.
• 36:31
SPEAKER_03: Oh, I hate that I'm about to make this pun.
• 36:34
SPEAKER_03: He liked his woman a little juicier.
• 36:37
SPEAKER_03: And uh something on this podcast has nothing to do with uh woman and woman's anatomy.
• 36:43
SPEAKER_03: We we love juicy reviews.
• 36:45
SPEAKER_03: This is so such a terrible man.
• 36:49
SPEAKER_03: I hope this isn't your first episode listening to us.
• 36:52
  SPEAKER_03: Uh please don't go.
• 36:53
SPEAKER_03: No, uh guys, lock in.
• 36:56
SPEAKER_03: I need you to sit down, write a little five-star review for us.
• 37:00
  SPEAKER_03: A juicy, juicy five-star review.
• 37:03
SPEAKER_03: Something Biff Tannen would uh not turn away from.
• 37:08
SPEAKER_03: Something he would bet on.
• 37:10
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 37:10
SPEAKER_03: Uh and and just whatever podcast application you're listening to, we we need that five-star juicy review, guys.
• 37:15
SPEAKER_03: Please, please, and thank you.
• 37:16
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, wait a minute.
• 37:17
SPEAKER_00: If you don't, are you chicken?
• 37:19
SPEAKER_02: Or just this man walked in and gave me a letter.
• 37:22
SPEAKER_02: I don't know how he knew I would be here, but it says the Back to the Future 2 episode was absolutely fantastic.
• 37:31
SPEAKER_02: Keep up the good work.
• 37:33
SPEAKER_02: Five stars juicy as F.
• 37:38
SPEAKER_02: That's that must have been some sort of message that was left for us somehow.
• 37:42
SPEAKER_02: It's like somebody knew we were gonna be here.
• 37:44
SPEAKER_02: Thank you guys for that great review.
• 37:46
SPEAKER_02: Uh let's get back to the episode.
• 37:49
  SPEAKER_03: Thank you guys.
• 37:50
  SPEAKER_03: That's wow.
• 37:53
  SPEAKER_03: That's that's crazy.
• 37:54
SPEAKER_03: Um I'm that must be wait, juicy as F is in like Fox, like or fruit like berry.
• 38:03
  SPEAKER_03: Michael J, Michael J Fox.
• 38:07
SPEAKER_03: Sorry, I I've been past like 30 seconds, I've been like, who in this movie starts with an F who in this movie?
• 38:14
SPEAKER_03: Um anyway, let's uh let's let's jump back into it.
• 38:18
SPEAKER_03: Um apparently Marty's mom did not care for the upgrades.
• 38:23
SPEAKER_03: Um that was pushed on uh her by Biff, who in this instance I will admit does not seem very good, even though I still think overall he did uh he lowered the prices of that town quite a bit.
• 38:37
SPEAKER_03: And uh housing was affordable.
• 38:39
SPEAKER_03: And you know, like there there are things you can say about Biff, and there are things that I can imply, but uh I don't think we're gonna be in the middle here.
• 38:48
SPEAKER_02: Um so uh could you uh then explain to me uh lion estates uh when the poor uh former principal or the dean of the high school He was playing Red Dead Redemption 2 who's who's wearing he's gonna wear like like a bulletproof vest in front of his house because the sch the former school kids because there's it was just better to understand there's no school, but somehow this guy is like still so hated, like years after school's been disbanded, that these random group of thugs just run by to sh to shoot shotguns at his front door.
• 39:31
SPEAKER_03: Better not catch this guy slacking, because he will call you out on it.
• 39:36
SPEAKER_00: I do I do like how he's decked out like Rambo, like he's just and then like he just chases them down the street with a shotgun.
• 39:43
  SPEAKER_02: Like, okay, Anthony.
• 39:46
SPEAKER_02: If if if there was one phrase that that you would use across universes, what would it be?
• 39:52
SPEAKER_02: This guy is a slacker.
• 39:53
SPEAKER_02: What do you what do you think your your your word or phrase would be?
• 39:56
  SPEAKER_00: I don't I don't have phrases.
• 39:59
SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna go with Let's go Mets.
• 40:00
  SPEAKER_03: Let's go Mets.
• 40:01
  SPEAKER_02: I think any universe I'm a Mets fan.
• 40:04
SPEAKER_03: Uh the first thing that comes to my mind is what I have ended my videos with for the past year or so is long live the timeline, which kind of works in pretty much every universe, so long as there is a timeline in that universe.
• 40:21
  SPEAKER_03: So I think it's pretty proportional.
• 40:24
SPEAKER_03: I I would say for Anthony it's like stay juicy, my friends.
• 40:31
  SPEAKER_00: That or crunchy.
• 40:33
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he loves the crunch.
• 40:34
SPEAKER_03: Um yeah, no, I so I to be honest, I wasn't very uh invested in the future plot.
• 40:45
SPEAKER_03: When they got to the future, I wasn't sold on anything um that was supposed to be future tech.
• 40:50
SPEAKER_03: Like I go into Blade Runner and I'm like, this is 2019 or 2017.
• 40:55
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, this is 2017.
• 40:57
SPEAKER_03: Like this is LA in the early 21st century.
• 41:02
  SPEAKER_03: I get it.
• 41:02
SPEAKER_03: This is this totally makes sense to me.
• 41:04
SPEAKER_03: I go into Brack to the Future too.
• 41:06
SPEAKER_03: It feels like Tomorrowland in like Disney World.
• 41:10
SPEAKER_03: Like it just doesn't it feels super mid-20th century ideas of futurism.
• 41:21
SPEAKER_03: Uh and I I guess I that like throws me off a little bit, but also I I don't think um the real plot that they wanted to tell in this movie was the future.
• 41:30
SPEAKER_03: I think the plot that they wanted to tell was back in the 50s.
• 41:34
SPEAKER_03: So or back in the 80s, 50s and 80s.
• 41:38
SPEAKER_03: You know where I felt the movie was actually strongest was him going back to the fif uh 1955 and having that you know chase with uh Biff trying to get the the the sports on that was such a good sequence because it matched up, I think, really well with the first film's uh level of events, you know, like the the order of events that need to take place.
• 42:08
SPEAKER_03: Um it felt like it it all lined up perfectly.
• 42:12
SPEAKER_03: Um I could totally see you know this other Marty and this other Doc in this universe playing out those scenes in the background of the first movie now, even though this would be I don't know, Willy Wobbly, timey time while me.
• 42:26
SPEAKER_03: Um but dude, I was on the edge of my seat.
• 42:28
SPEAKER_03: Like a lot of a lot because I don't remember watching this movie, so like I had no idea how he was gonna uh handle that.
• 42:35
SPEAKER_03: Um and it it turned out to be manure again.
• 42:41
SPEAKER_00: I like um I like how the doc is prepared money-wise, like when he goes to like different places, so he had like 1950s money, and then he's like and then and then he's like buy something inconspicuous, like uh cloth clothing-wise, and like the next scene is just him like rolling up with such a like conspicuous outfit, yeah.
• 43:08
  SPEAKER_00: Right, right, right.
• 43:09
SPEAKER_00: And I love his line, it's like Doc, come in, Doc.
• 43:12
SPEAKER_03: I I was he was in the backseat of that car.
• 43:14
  SPEAKER_03: I'm like, he's Biff's gonna hear you, bro.
• 43:17
  SPEAKER_03: Shut up.
• 43:19
SPEAKER_00: Dude, I know I'm like, bro, how's Biff playing?
• 43:22
SPEAKER_02: By the way, I love the manure gag.
• 43:27
SPEAKER_02: I I just love the the the crashing into gross, like the what happens to Biff.
• 43:33
SPEAKER_03: Uh I I can only imagine that it happens once again in the third movie, because uh one thing we we don't really get one one thing we don't really lose going back 70 years before 1955 is uh horses, you know, like they exist, um, and they they they poop a lot.
• 43:54
SPEAKER_03: So I'm I'm gonna have to guess that Biff and his cronies, or like the um the Biff analog or the Biff distant relative will indeed, this is my this is my theory.
• 44:05
SPEAKER_03: I haven't watched three yet, will crash into a cart of manure.
• 44:10
SPEAKER_02: Can I just uh I'm not gonna confirm uh or deny that, right?
• 44:17
  SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
• 44:18
SPEAKER_02: But I will say that this movie if you if you if you watch a third one, this movie does so much direct leading in, it's crazy.
• 44:29
  SPEAKER_03: Like it's absolutely insane.
• 44:31
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like I I was watching it with uh Jen, my wife, and she every like couple scenes, she's just like, wow, they're really I never realized how much they leaned into the third movie in this, you know, like a lot of old West stuff.
• 44:44
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, even the uh you know, Biff's watching the Old West on the TV, uh Doc says that I want to go back to the Old West one day, and then he also mentions at one point that like the last thing he kind of wants to do in his life is find love, and like that's gonna it it it's kind of and even the uh because I don't think this happened in the first one and unless I'm wrong, but the chicken thing didn't happen until this movie.
• 45:10
SPEAKER_03: Chicken thing where he gets Oh yeah, they don't talk about uh who you call in chicken.
• 45:16
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and it like flips him, like it flips them off, like he just sets them it sets them off, and then like you're gonna find out in three that it's like a family trait.
• 45:25
SPEAKER_02: Like it literally like being called chicken is like ridiculous.
• 45:28
SPEAKER_02: I believe that so I I don't know if I I don't know if I appreciate it or if I just thought it was like super freaking heavy-handed.
• 45:37
SPEAKER_02: Like, man, like wow, that's a lot of foreshadowing, you know.
• 45:41
SPEAKER_02: Like I a lot of chickens, but I I I I assume that also that you wouldn't know this, right?
• 45:47
SPEAKER_02: Like when you're watching two, there's no way until you watch three that you're like, oh my goodness.
• 45:52
SPEAKER_02: So And they came out six months apart in theaters.
• 45:55
SPEAKER_03: I I knew obviously that the third one is an old west movie.
• 46:00
  SPEAKER_03: That's I I know that I've never seen it, but I know that.
• 46:03
SPEAKER_03: Um so going into this, whenever they would talk touch on the old west, they even like I when they get to Biff Tannin's place, there's a little slideshow of like Biff Tannin's life, and it goes as far back as you know his distant relative or great great grandfather in the old west, you know, was this guy mad dog.
• 46:24
  SPEAKER_03: Yes.
• 46:24
SPEAKER_03: So I I knew then that uh you know at least at least Biff returns in some form in the next film.
• 46:32
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 46:33
SPEAKER_03: Um what did you think, Anthony, of the foreshadowing of the old west?
• 46:39
SPEAKER_00: I think it's something that we'll have to wait until we discuss the third film.
• 46:44
SPEAKER_03: I I love Anthony's like slow build-up when he like right before he answers a question, like a direct question, he has to like sit up and like get really close to his mic, and then he goes, I guess we'll find out.
• 46:57
SPEAKER_00: And next time on Dragon Ball Z.
• 47:00
SPEAKER_00: No, yeah, man, they they I I really do think that they do a good job in trying to set themselves up, you know?
• 47:10
SPEAKER_00: And I really do like how this movie, like, you know, and obviously, like you know, when when we go to watch the next movie, you'll see how this movie leads right into the next one.
• 47:22
SPEAKER_00: I mean, it we literally ended this movie, literally ends the same way that the third movie starts, you know.
• 47:29
SPEAKER_03: So it's like is there any movie out there that immediately shows you the sequel's trailer before the credits even roll?
• 47:39
  SPEAKER_03: Like this one does.
• 47:40
SPEAKER_03: I was thinking about that.
• 47:41
SPEAKER_03: I'm trying to think of anything.
• 47:43
  SPEAKER_00: Like uh it's crazy.
• 47:45
SPEAKER_00: It's like literally I think the only thing I I've I've ever seen do that is like TV shows.
• 47:51
SPEAKER_02: But Stranger Things takes 97 years for us to watch.
• 47:54
  SPEAKER_02: Like, I just don't understand.
• 47:55
SPEAKER_02: And but this guy can uh take I mean two uh you know, just all-time, I mean, probably cinema cinematic masterpieces uh in Back to the Future 2 and 3, and he gets them done, you know, six months apart, like uh put out there six months apart.
• 48:11
  SPEAKER_02: That's amazing.
• 48:12
  SPEAKER_03: That is pretty cool.
• 48:13
SPEAKER_02: That is why why didn't they do this with Stranger Things so we don't have to have 37-year-olds uh playing uh you know 13-year-olds?
• 48:21
  SPEAKER_03: I feel yeah, I know.
• 48:23
SPEAKER_03: They I think with Stranger Things, they have really pigeonholed themselves into making every uh episode feel cinematic and like a movie instead of making it feel like a TV show, and that's part of Netflix's model, right?
• 48:38
SPEAKER_03: So it's gonna take longer naturally than um because you know, if you got a 10-episode season and the average episode is like an hour and ten minutes, that's yeah, what 12 hours that you gotta film for?
• 48:55
SPEAKER_02: It's like give us our entertainment, you know.
• 48:57
SPEAKER_00: Stranger Things isn't even like their biggest issue.
• 49:00
SPEAKER_00: They're their biggest is the fact that they're trying to do like a a live action one piece, and at some point they're gonna have to stop because at some point it's just not gonna make sense.
• 49:10
SPEAKER_03: In terms of like who's uh the characters aging and stuff, right?
• 49:15
SPEAKER_00: The characters aging, and it it's just so much, dude.
• 49:18
SPEAKER_00: Like by the time they catch up, it'll be like so many years down the line.
• 49:23
SPEAKER_00: Like when when when was season one 2023?
• 49:28
  SPEAKER_03: 24.
• 49:29
SPEAKER_03: No, it was I think it was early last year, and then the next one is early next year.
• 49:33
  SPEAKER_03: So it's it's uh two two-year basis, basically.
• 49:36
SPEAKER_00: So like so so think like they're barely touching an arc every two years, and like there's a bunch of arcs, don't you know?
• 49:46
SPEAKER_00: Don't have to so that that's what I'm saying, but you know, but you know who wouldn't have that issue?
• 49:53
  SPEAKER_00: No, doc brown.
• 49:54
SPEAKER_03: No, doc brown is the reason all the bad things happen, you know.
• 49:59
SPEAKER_03: Marty, Marty's parents just had they they didn't have a bad life, it was just kind of subpar.
• 50:05
SPEAKER_03: So they were a little alcoholic, so they were kind of losers, blah blah blah.
• 50:09
SPEAKER_03: That doesn't make what you do right, Mr.
• 50:12
  SPEAKER_03: Doc Brown.
• 50:14
SPEAKER_03: I think the fact that Biff Tannen got a hold of your time machine, your DeLorean.
• 50:19
SPEAKER_03: Uh, I believe that is uh justice for the wrongs that you've inadvertently you know you've created and destroyed universes, sir.
• 50:30
SPEAKER_03: Billions died uh due to your meddling.
• 50:33
  SPEAKER_03: And I I just I can't I can't take that.
• 50:37
SPEAKER_03: I I think that this guy's actually truly evil and he deserved to be in jail.
• 50:42
SPEAKER_00: What do you think about the upgrades to the DeLorean?
• 50:46
SPEAKER_00: You know, like this time it can fly.
• 50:49
SPEAKER_00: He also doesn't need the plutonium, he can just like create fusion with garbage.
• 50:54
SPEAKER_03: I I kind of forgive Doc uh for everything just because that is actually a very um useful uh upgrade to the DeLorean.
• 51:02
SPEAKER_03: Not he can just power it with any energy, basically.
• 51:05
SPEAKER_03: And I I think that that is uh far more cost effective and economical.
• 51:10
SPEAKER_03: Well, that's it, which is the same thing.
• 51:12
SPEAKER_03: It's uh I I said the same thing twice.
• 51:14
SPEAKER_00: And no no uh Libyans required.
• 51:16
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
• 51:18
SPEAKER_02: I I do I I wonder from the first one I would like that they didn't do it the second one, and I feel like they're so good about everything, but uh there's like no mention of the fact that a car drove into the movie theater, right?
• 51:34
SPEAKER_02: Like that there's like no because you know how they do the repairing of the clock tower and everything, but like at one point the doesn't the doesn't the DeLorean go into the the the front of the movie theater?
• 51:46
SPEAKER_02: Am I making this up?
• 51:47
  SPEAKER_03: I don't remember.
• 51:48
SPEAKER_03: Um what in the second movie or the first movie?
• 51:52
SPEAKER_00: It's it's a it's at the end of the the first where he's like driving and um when he when he hits like the the the wire with the bolts of lightning driving towards a movie theater, but he he disappears.
• 52:09
  SPEAKER_02: Okay, sorry.
• 52:10
SPEAKER_02: I when he gets back to 1985?
• 52:12
  SPEAKER_03: No, he's in a parking lot.
• 52:15
  SPEAKER_03: Okay, is he?
• 52:16
  SPEAKER_03: Wait, no, wait.
• 52:18
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like he goes back to Lone Pine Mall to like I think he he wants to try to save the dock.
• 52:25
SPEAKER_03: Oh no, no, he does end up on the same street.
• 52:27
  SPEAKER_03: Oh he does.
• 52:28
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, when he goes right to the room, when he Yes, yes, yes.
• 52:31
SPEAKER_02: And then he and then he has to.
• 52:32
SPEAKER_03: When he goes back, when he goes back to the future, he like yeah, when he enters the other side, he he jams it into Yeah, you're right.
• 52:40
SPEAKER_03: He does do that, and then he backs up and then he goes to the monster.
• 52:42
SPEAKER_02: I know it's like the smallest thing, but I I really wish it would have been like, ah, you know, the reconstruct the grand opening of the you know like the movie theater, because that's uh kind of like I don't know.
• 52:52
SPEAKER_02: I think they're so good about little things that that's just one extra thing that I would love to have.
• 52:56
SPEAKER_02: But I I I can wax poetic about this movie for hours, gentlemen.
• 53:00
SPEAKER_02: I I I s I can acknowledge the flaws that you guys point out, but I can see past all of them to just embrace this movie and the whole franchise as something I just absolutely love.
• 53:16
SPEAKER_02: Whenever it's on TV with commercials, I I will watch it.
• 53:21
SPEAKER_02: I cannot change the channel.
• 53:23
SPEAKER_02: I have to watch these movies.
• 53:25
SPEAKER_02: I love the interaction with Doc Brown and and and and Marty.
• 53:30
  SPEAKER_02: I I I love all of it.
• 53:32
SPEAKER_02: I really do appreciate so much of it.
• 53:34
  SPEAKER_02: It's good, clean fun.
• 53:36
SPEAKER_02: You can watch it as an adult, you can watch it as a kid.
• 53:39
  SPEAKER_02: Uh I I just it think it's the bee's knees.
• 53:42
SPEAKER_00: That's that's well, what else would you say about it, Rich?
• 53:46
SPEAKER_00: Like, there's there's something that, you know, like how good of a time it is, you know.
• 53:52
SPEAKER_02: I feel like I'm being set up to slam dunk here, and I think I'm missing the ball on it.
• 53:58
SPEAKER_00: Some something that you always say when you have a good time with a movie or a show.
• 54:03
  SPEAKER_03: The Wolverine.
• 54:06
  SPEAKER_03: Is it the Wolverine?
• 54:08
SPEAKER_03: I actually have no idea what you're saying.
• 54:09
SPEAKER_00: No, it you know, would you say that it is a rip good times?
• 54:13
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you do say rip around your time quite a bit of a lot of people.
• 54:16
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you know what?
• 54:16
SPEAKER_03: That actually might be your new catchphrase.
• 54:18
SPEAKER_02: That might be my catchphrase.
• 54:19
  SPEAKER_02: You know what?
• 54:20
SPEAKER_02: It is I challenge, I don't even understand people who could sit here and not watch this movie and walk out and with a smile on your face.
• 54:30
SPEAKER_02: You know, and I think that's what movies are supposed to do for me.
• 54:34
SPEAKER_02: I I I I really like it when the movie is just uh and you know, this goes with the uh what was it?
• 54:41
SPEAKER_02: Uh the Dungeons and Dragons movie um that we watched.
• 54:44
  SPEAKER_02: Honor Among Thieves.
• 54:45
SPEAKER_02: Honor Among Thieves, the the Pirates of the Caribbean.
• 54:49
SPEAKER_02: There's something about like these movies that lack true darkness.
• 54:54
SPEAKER_02: Like as as evil as Biff is, right?
• 54:56
SPEAKER_02: Like it's almost like he's so comically evil that you know he's not gonna succeed in the end, right?
• 55:02
SPEAKER_02: Like you know that good is gonna win in triumph.
• 55:05
SPEAKER_02: And I don't know, there's something comforting about watching the movies that I I really enjoy.
• 55:10
SPEAKER_02: Uh there's nothing, there's no morally really disturbing thing that you have to deal with.
• 55:16
  SPEAKER_02: It's just it's just a fun movie.
• 55:19
  SPEAKER_03: That's that's all I gotta say.
• 55:21
SPEAKER_03: I have to morally live with the fact that um I'm supposed to pretend Doc Brown is a hero uh when he's a destroyer of timelines and universe gets back.
• 55:40
  SPEAKER_00: You hear this, right?
• 55:41
  SPEAKER_00: You hear this, right?
• 55:42
SPEAKER_02: The accusation of Evan Brown, and it just lines up with what Biff said, you know, with the old man.
• 55:47
SPEAKER_02: Like, if uh if a young boy and an old crazy guy ever come over, you gotta shoot him, you know.
• 55:52
SPEAKER_02: Um and we also looked up the fact that Biff just straight up killed George McFly and then takes his wife.
• 56:00
SPEAKER_02: Like, like just like what?
• 56:03
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like she was destitute, so now he takes her, and there was that scene in the middle of the 50s where he yells like he he was basically like trying to like fondle her in the street when she gets her dress for the problem, yeah, and then he goes, You'll be my wife one day, Lorraine! You'll be my wife, which is like such a scary romantic threat.
• 56:24
  SPEAKER_03: Like, what?
• 56:26
  SPEAKER_03: That's true.
• 56:28
SPEAKER_03: Like, you may not you may not realize it for what it is, but that's love.
• 56:31
  SPEAKER_03: That's love for you.
• 56:32
SPEAKER_00: Man, you do that now and you make a movie.
• 56:34
  SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
• 56:35
SPEAKER_02: Like, that's oh, and I think that's the other part of it.
• 56:38
SPEAKER_02: It's like like the loosey goosiness of it, like they're they're they're fine with embracing that.
• 56:43
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
• 56:43
SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna kick it to one of you guys because I literally could just uh I could just talk all night about how much I love this movie.
• 56:51
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna take over and say that yeah, it is a rip-roar and good time.
• 56:56
SPEAKER_03: Uh they they rip roar right over right through the timeline.
• 56:59
SPEAKER_03: I I do like the 15-year jumps or 15-year periods that they kind of bounce, or no, not 15, uh 20.
• 57:09
  SPEAKER_03: 30.
• 57:10
  SPEAKER_03: 30.
• 57:10
SPEAKER_03: Sorry, I'm I'm all over the place.
• 57:12
  SPEAKER_03: Um so 55 to 85 to 2015.
• 57:17
  SPEAKER_03: I I like that consistency.
• 57:19
SPEAKER_03: It feels like notable jumps, and it's pretty much every generation, you know, gets gets an opportunity to um explore that aspect of history.
• 57:30
SPEAKER_03: I did like that they, you know, attempted uh to explore the future uh in a meaningful way, uh to Rich's chagrin.
• 57:39
SPEAKER_03: I I I even like in the credits of the movie, there's there's a uh a list of like eight people that they put under they call I think it's like future advisors.
• 57:55
SPEAKER_03: So basically they hired people to visualize the future um meaningfully for this series, and one of those people, funny enough, is they they spell it uh so it's they it's Doug Chang, who they spell C-H-A-N-G, but his actual name is C-H-A-I-N-G, and he is a concept artist for Lucasfilm, and I can see why they would have hired him to be a you know a concept artist or a future advisor for the future of this uh world, but he got it dead wrong.
• 58:34
SPEAKER_03: Damn it, Doug, damn it.
• 58:38
  SPEAKER_00: I have a question.
• 58:39
SPEAKER_00: Did you all notice the hidden baggins?
• 58:43
  SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, I did.
• 58:46
  SPEAKER_00: Yes, baby Elijah Woods.
• 58:49
SPEAKER_02: You almost had me, you almost had me, but in the diner scene when he goes to play the uh the gun game, and he's like, You play games with your hands, that's for babies.
• 59:02
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, man, it's crazy like how young he looks, man.
• 59:04
SPEAKER_00: He was a baby, right?
• 59:07
SPEAKER_00: And then it's like this movie came out what in 89?
• 59:11
SPEAKER_00: Yes or and so about what like 10 years later, he'd be working on the Lord of the Rings?
• 59:18
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, man.
• 59:20
  SPEAKER_00: So crazy.
• 59:21
  SPEAKER_00: Yep, that's so crazy.
• 59:22
  SPEAKER_03: That is actually insane.
• 59:24
SPEAKER_03: Um what uh what I what we didn't touch on was like in the future, uh, everyone's kind of hopped up on like augments, like mental augments or something.
• 59:38
SPEAKER_03: Uh like the the Biff of the future, uh what's his name?
• 59:43
  SPEAKER_03: Uh Griff.
• 59:45
  SPEAKER_03: Griff.
• 59:45
  SPEAKER_03: I like it's Griff, yeah.
• 59:47
SPEAKER_03: He he has like a really high pitched voice, and he's talking really fast and like sometimes stutters, and it's it's like he's like a like a robot, like, but he's he's he's all like high on electronics.
• 1:00:00
SPEAKER_03: Something, it's the most bizarre choice ever.
• 1:00:04
SPEAKER_00: It's it's so funny though, because he's like a dumber version of Biff.
• 1:00:09
SPEAKER_00: Oh dude, I love the interaction between young Biff and old Biff because like old Biff like realizes that he was like really dumb as a kid, and it's funny because I think I think about that.
• 1:00:23
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, you know what?
• 1:00:25
SPEAKER_00: If I was in the same like if I was in the same boat, I probably would smack my younger self upside his head too.
• 1:00:32
SPEAKER_00: Because like there's a lot of dumb things that that that that were done, right?
• 1:00:36
SPEAKER_00: But it was so funny, like when he's like, make like a tree and get out of here, and then like he smacks his head.
• 1:00:42
SPEAKER_00: He's like, it's make like a tree and leave.
• 1:00:45
SPEAKER_00: It's not fun when you say it like that, or when you say it wrong.
• 1:00:49
  SPEAKER_00: Dude, it's so funny.
• 1:00:50
  SPEAKER_00: I love that interaction.
• 1:00:51
SPEAKER_03: This is like a good movie.
• 1:00:53
SPEAKER_03: Um, I'm glad we covered the second back to the future.
• 1:00:57
SPEAKER_03: And soon, hopefully, um maybe later this year or early next year, we'll cover the third one because I don't want to wait super long, you know, between between films, especially because I haven't seen it.
• 1:01:10
SPEAKER_03: So I I want to keep this one fresh in my mind.
• 1:01:12
SPEAKER_03: But remember, guys, Frankenstein by Guillermo, Guillermo del Toro, uh, the Netflix film that came out uh last month.

• 1:02:15
SPEAKER_03: You know, you just you're at night, you just like you know, you just like No, I just wake up yelling, McFly.
• 1:02:22

• 1:02:51
  SPEAKER_02: But I I I won't I I will admit this.
• 1:02:54
SPEAKER_02: Watching both of them, I was like, man, I know these movies so well.
• 1:02:58
SPEAKER_02: Like there was not one scene that I did not vividly recall step for step.
• 1:03:05
SPEAKER_02: Uh so it was it was really enjoyable.
• 1:03:07
SPEAKER_02: And uh I do hope we get to the third one, but uh there is a monster.
• 1:03:12
SPEAKER_02: There's a monster in our future, guys.
• 1:03:14
SPEAKER_00: We all know you would have watched it.
• 1:03:15
SPEAKER_02: Oh, and by the way, uh Dakota was saying, yeah, you know, it's hard because the uh Stranger Things came out so far that I I was rushing to recap and I forgot about this and that, and I'm like, wait a minute, you didn't watch all four seasons right before Thanksgiving Day to wait for it to come out and then binge those four episodes.
• 1:03:33
SPEAKER_03: No, but now now that I'm like into it and realizing this is the last season, I do think I'm gonna go back before the season's over just to uh recap it.
• 1:03:43
  SPEAKER_03: And who knows?
• 1:03:44
SPEAKER_03: Might be a gate critique video in there somewhere.
• 1:03:47
  SPEAKER_02: Hashtag rewatch everything.

SPEAKER_03: Hashtag nobody uses hashtags anymore, Rich.
