- 0:34And before we dial it up and talk NHL Conference Finals, we

- 3:23about the Knicks and whoever you want to talk about as long as
- 3:26it's basketball, cuz that's where get it.
- 3:28That's what we're getting in first.
- 3:29But it's been a crazy, crazy weekend.
- 3:32I want to give a shout out to all our soldiers.
- 3:35Happy Memorial Day to all the the fans, all the people out
- 3:38there that protect our country and support our country.
- 3:41So thank you to all the troops, Marines and everybody out there
- 3:46keeping us safe, keeping us healthy and keeping us very
- 3:49aware from any attackers from all different parts of the
- 3:53world. So thank you for all our
- 3:55soldiers. Jabba, how are you?
- 3:57Good, good. Second that notion.
- 3:59Appreciate all you guys. A sacrifice.
- 4:00And we're the ones that that didn't get to come home.
- 4:03The ultimate sacrifice. So we're we're able to to do
- 4:06what we do. And obviously all the respect
- 4:09goes to them and their families. But yeah, it's it's warm in New
- 4:12York and it's back to like 58° here.
- 4:14So and it rained all weekend and I don't think it got above 60.
- 4:19So yeah, it's the the bipolar in this weather of Nebraska is.
- 4:23Back. Wait a second, is that why
- 4:25you're wearing a beanie? Because it's 58°.
- 4:28Yeah, it's cold. It that's cold to you, 58°, I
- 4:31mean you in fish and even this guy right over here, Mr. Tommy
- 4:36scoops. You guys wear these beanies and
- 4:38it's it's summertime, it's springtime, summertime.
- 4:41Nobody wears beanies but you guys.
- 4:43It's the bean amigos. You will never see me wear a
- 4:46beanie. It's it's a very rare thing if
- 4:49you see me wear a beanie. I've got a ton of them, Nick
- 4:51ones, Islander ones, Jet Ones. I never wear them.
- 4:55I get them for the holidays all the time.
- 4:57And I'm like, why are you buying this for me?
- 4:59I'm never going to wear it. I even made myself a Jabba in
- 5:02the Mouth beanie and I'm never going to wear it.
- 5:04So what was the point of doing that?
- 5:06It makes no sense. I don't wear beanies, I wear
- 5:09hats. But then again, there are people
- 5:11out there, it doesn't matter what kind of weather, 80
- 5:14degrees, 8590°, they're outside wearing beanies.
- 5:18They're running with their shirt.
- 5:20Who wears a shirt? They're running without a shirt
- 5:24and they're wearing beanies while they're running.
- 5:25Does that make any sense to you? I mean, I see a lot of like,
- 5:29like long distance runners. Like there was, there was a
- 5:32group running by the, the high school that my son went to and
- 5:37it, it wasn't warm out, but I think 1, I think one did have
- 5:40like a beanie on, but they didn't have any shirts on.
- 5:43It wasn't super hot either. But I got a buddy, one of
- 5:46Carter's best friend's dad. It doesn't matter if it's -30 or
- 5:51if it's 100 never wears pants. He always wears shorts.
- 5:55Like he'll wear jacket and gloves and everything.
- 5:58But shout out to Bartling because ever since I've known
- 6:01him, he literally he wears shorts no matter what.
- 6:03And I'm like, you are crazy because there's we get during,
- 6:07during spring, it gets it gets frosty at those baseball games
- 6:10and he's still rocking his shorts, but he'll have gloves
- 6:13and a coat on. I wear during the winter time, I
- 6:16wear shorts, I wear T-shirts, I'm outside with flip flops.
- 6:19I I'm not really cold in the winter time, especially over
- 6:22here, it has to be under 30 for me to even button up and wear a
- 6:26coat. So I don't understand people
- 6:28wearing beanies. I don't understand people
- 6:31running outside when it's like 58° with a beanie on their head
- 6:34with no shirt. None of that makes sense to me.
- 6:36But then again, in this world, there's a lot of crazy people
- 6:40out there that will do crazy things.
- 6:42But like I said, it's going to be a crazy show tonight.
- 6:45The Knicks came back down 20 points in the second quarter to
- 6:49beat the Pacers one O 6 to 100. In game three.
- 6:53The Knicks were down 55 to 35 with three minutes to go in the
- 6:57second quarter and outscored the Pacers 81 to 65 since then for
- 7:03the first time this post season. The Knicks used nine man
- 7:07rotations with obviously right and Mr. Chimetz getting minutes
- 7:13in the for the first time in this series after having just
- 7:17four points all game. Karl Anthony Towns had 20 points
- 7:21including four three pointers in the fourth quarter.
- 7:24The Pacers had just one player with 20 points which was Tyrese
- 7:29Hall Burton. The Knicks are the first team in
- 7:31NBA history to come back from 320 point deficits, which is the
- 7:37most in a single postseason in history.
- 7:40You know, I know New York fans sitting here today are excited.
- 7:44They love it. They love the comeback and they
- 7:46won one O 6100. I'm not too excited.
- 7:50And the reason why I'm not too excited is because going into
- 7:52this series, I believe the New York Knicks were the better
- 7:55team. I believe the Knicks were the
- 7:57healthiest they've been all season long.
- 8:00But the problem with Tom Thibodeau, and I will say this
- 8:03again, his rotation makes no sense.
- 8:06And you can hear it from Shaquille O'Neal and Charles
- 8:08Barkley after the game, after winning the game.
- 8:11And they interviewed Jaylen Bronson.
- 8:13He they pretty much asked Jaylen Bronson, well, what is this?
- 8:16What is this rotation all about? I mean, does he actually know
- 8:19what he's doing with his rotation?
- 8:21And he smiled and he says, I'm not going to say anything.
- 8:23I've got a joke, but I'm not going to say anything.
- 8:26You know, it's interesting when you think about a guy like Tom
- 8:29Thibodeau. The guy is a unique personality,
- 8:32obviously knows a no order when it comes to speaking to the
- 8:36press, and he loves to be passionate about what he
- 8:40believes in as far as defense is concerned and who and what fits
- 8:45when it comes to a rotation. But this rotation over the last
- 8:48couple of weeks, even against the Celtics, there's a lot of
- 8:52questions and the point guard position, especially when
- 8:55McBride's not playing well, which he has played in the last,
- 8:58I would say, the last two series.
- 9:01But in the first series against Detroit, he was not playing
- 9:04well. And you have guys like, right,
- 9:06who's an experienced 65 point guard that can play the
- 9:10position, defend the position. Why wasn't he getting any time
- 9:14on the basketball court? And I understand that Tom
- 9:17Thibodeau has his own thoughts on how he believes this team in
- 9:21this rotation should work throughout the playoffs.
- 9:24He's got a tremendous amount of talent in their lineup.
- 9:27But the problem is, throughout these playoffs, the Knicks have
- 9:30had so much problems keeping in the game.
- 9:33And what I mean by that is they have so much foul trouble go
- 9:37through every single game. And throughout the two series
- 9:40that they played against Boston and now Indiana, they've had
- 9:44foul problems. Jalen Bronson's been having foul
- 9:47problem all throughout this series.
- 9:49Even at the end of the last series, he's had foul problems.
- 9:52And then Karl Anthony Towns and then Mikhail Bridges and then OG
- 9:56and Anobi, all these guys cannot stay out of foul trouble.
- 10:00And you have Mitchell Robinson who's finally playing at the top
- 10:03of his game. And I, I love that he started
- 10:05Mitchell Robinson in the start of the fourth game.
- 10:09And the reason why is we've been saying this, me and Speedy have
- 10:12been talking about this, that Mitchell Robinson fits playing
- 10:15with Karl Anthony Towns and Jaylen Bronson in the beginning
- 10:18of the game. He gives them size, he gives
- 10:20them defense. And by the way, Mitchell
- 10:21Robinson could defend multiple positions, including the point
- 10:24guard and two guard position. The problem with Mitchell
- 10:28Robinson is he can't hit a free throw if his life depended on
- 10:31it. And that's why a lot of people
- 10:33say hack a Mitch. But guess what?
- 10:35In the beginning of the first quarter, you're not going to
- 10:39hack Mitchell Robinson because you don't want to get into foul
- 10:41trouble. And that's what he should have
- 10:43been doing really throughout the Boston Celtics series once he
- 10:46got his legs under him. And then you look at Josh Hart.
- 10:50Josh Hart is better off the bench.
- 10:52He plays better off the bench. He gives you that that talent
- 10:57that you need coming off the bench that can rebound, assist
- 11:00and score. Josh Hart is a much better
- 11:02shooter than people give him credit for.
- 11:04And he gives you automatically that offense you need off the
- 11:08bench. The Knicks have been really
- 11:10throughout the playoffs, one of the worst off the bench teams in
- 11:13all of the NBA in the playoffs. Yeah, Josh Hart to the mix now
- 11:18on the bench you're getting you, you actually outscored the
- 11:22Indiana Pacers bench in in game four.
- 11:25And when you can do that and what the Pacers strength is, is
- 11:29their bench, their starting lineup is good.
- 11:32Ness Smith is he's fantastic. And and obviously we could see
- 11:35he's a great 3 point shooter and he gives you that that absolute
- 11:38guarantee that if he sets up and he pitches himself at that line,
- 11:42he's going to hit that 39 out of 10 times.
- 11:45But he is not healthy. He hurt himself, he rolled his,
- 11:49he rolled his ankle. He's not going to be 100% in
- 11:51this game if he plays. So now the Knicks have the
- 11:54advantage. The Knicks are almost 100%
- 11:56healthy, as healthy as you can be, and you have every single
- 12:00one of your players at the positions that you expect them
- 12:04to play ready to get into the game, no matter off the bench or
- 12:08the starting lineup and give you consistency.
- 12:11Now if the Knicks expect to win this series, they have to beat
- 12:15Indiana in game four. They have to because going back
- 12:20home down 3 to 1, the pressure is on the Knicks, not Indiana.
- 12:25They Indiana's beating the Knicks both times in New York
- 12:29and they have no pressure on them and if they lose in New
- 12:31York, they just go back to the Indiana and really end the
- 12:34Knicks. The Knicks have one win in the
- 12:37new in their history against Indiana in the playoffs and that
- 12:41was the other day. That was Sunday.
- 12:43The Knicks were O and nine against Indiana in the playoffs
- 12:47in Indiana. Now you have one win.
- 12:49Now, could they do it back-to-back times?
- 12:51Only time will tell. If the Knicks could do it
- 12:53against Boston with Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the championship
- 12:57team that they were, they could do it against this Indiana team.
- 13:01They got a tremendous amount of talent.
- 13:02They do. And and Halpern, you know, he
- 13:05likes to dance around and prance around on the sidelines.
- 13:08We are hearing that his father is now going to be in the press
- 13:12box. So maybe it's good luck for the
- 13:14Indiana Pacers. I don't believe so.
- 13:17If you're if you're a New York Knicks fan, you have to expect
- 13:20the Knicks to come out stronger than they have in the last
- 13:23couple of games. They need to score early, they
- 13:25need to get an early lead and they need to make sure that they
- 13:29are going to play with the lead throughout this game.
- 13:32If they go down 1015 points against Indiana and it
- 13:36continuously keep doing this, eventually it's going to catch
- 13:38up to you. You don't want to see the Knicks
- 13:40fall in these situations. I want to see more of OG and
- 13:43Anobi offensively. He has been up and down in this
- 13:46the series. I want to see him more
- 13:48consistent and if he's hitting his three-point shots, you got
- 13:51to pitch him the ball. Jalen Bronson's got to stop
- 13:54playing isolation basketball. It's been a big problem.
- 13:57Now, I'm not saying Jalen Bronson shouldn't get his, but
- 14:00this isolation basketball is not going to play well against the
- 14:05Indiana Pacers. In Indiana.
- 14:06You need to pitch the ball. You need to move the ball around
- 14:10the perimeter. You've got guys that can hit
- 14:11shots. McHale Bridges, when he gets
- 14:13hot, he can hit shots. McBride's been very well, very
- 14:17good hitting shots. Even Carl Anthony Towns, when
- 14:19you need him to step up in the fourth quarter, his fat ass was
- 14:23hitting shots. I don't want to see this
- 14:26isolation basketball. It never works for the Knicks,
- 14:29it didn't work with Carmelo Anthony, and it's definitely not
- 14:32going to work if Jalen Bronson believes that this team has a
- 14:35chance to come back in the series and beat the Indiana
- 14:38Pacers. Isolation basketball has been
- 14:40dead for a while now and I think the last team that's really won
- 14:43a title doing that kind of system was over 13 years ago,
- 14:46probably with either Miami or even you can go back further
- 14:49maybe with the Lakers, like that's how long it's been.
- 14:51You can't be able to do that on a consistent basis, especially
- 14:54with players like Jalen Bronson who can get worn down very
- 14:57easily. Jalen Bronson is a great
- 14:58playmaker and floor spacer. You don't want him having to
- 15:01drive to the hoop and hold the ball forever and in that kind of
- 15:04regard. And we've seen that same kind of
- 15:05thing with Towns, too. Towns has done that in the past.
- 15:07We've posted up for 15 seconds, then he decides to either shoot
- 15:11the ball recklessly or pass or try to drive inside.
- 15:14And then he draws contact and thinks he gets bowled.
- 15:16And like, Errol's done many times, he'll just complain about
- 15:19it flopping and whining at the refs and gets called.
- 15:21He doesn't get yeah. And that that kind of system
- 15:24does not kind of work. And they need that kind of extra
- 15:26ball movement from the wings, too.
- 15:28OG and a Nobi, like you're talking about Josh Hart, Miles
- 15:30McBride when he comes off the bench.
- 15:32I think, I think McBride's been better in this series than he
- 15:34has in the in the playoffs in the past when it comes to
- 15:36spacing the floor out. But here's the biggest key that
- 15:39they didn't have these, the other two bench guys you talk
- 15:41about, right and Shaman, they the ball was moving a lot better
- 15:44when those two guys were on the court rather than obviously
- 15:46campaign. You want to see Karl Anthony
- 15:48Towns more, especially in the fourth quarter, but you want to
- 15:51see him throughout this game go on these these runs where he's
- 15:54hitting 5-6 shots in in on a run.
- 15:57Karl Anthony Towns stepped up in the fourth quarter when the
- 15:59Knicks were in foul trouble and that Jalen Bronson was in foul
- 16:03trouble with four fouls. And it's so funny to think that
- 16:07everybody said that Karl Anthony Towns is not as important as
- 16:10Jaylen Bronson is. Throughout this season.
- 16:12I said the most important player on this team is Karl Anthony
- 16:16Towns, not Jaylen Bronson. Not because I don't think Jaylen
- 16:19Bronson is the best player on this team and the captain his
- 16:22team. It's because Karl Anthony Towns
- 16:25was a number one pick. He was the first pick in the
- 16:28first round. This guy was as good of a
- 16:31three-point shooter as a big man the NBA has seen in a very, very
- 16:35long time. You need to get this guy hot.
- 16:38He's got to stop shooting 4050 foot jumpers.
- 16:41He needs to step behind the line and make those shots.
- 16:43If Carl Anthony Towns is making shots like that and having 20
- 16:47point quarters, the Knicks are going to win this series.
- 16:51There's no way, and I'll say this again, there is no way the
- 16:54Indiana Pacers, as talented and as young as they are, can
- 16:58withstand the talent that the Knicks have on all corners of
- 17:02this basketball court, especially with the four top
- 17:05players that they have. There is nobody besides Tyrese
- 17:09Halliburton that's better than Mikkel Bridges or OG Ananobi or
- 17:13even Karl Anthony Towns. Tyrese Halliburton is their
- 17:17superstar player. If Tyrese Burton's not playing
- 17:19well and you keep him from a bare minimum of a 20 to 25
- 17:23points and the other guys under 20, you're winning the game.
- 17:27There's no way this team is going to beat you.
- 17:30But the problem with the New York Knicks over the last couple
- 17:34of weeks, including against Boston, is they play this game
- 17:37shot for shot. You cannot do that.
- 17:40You are a good two way basketball team when you want to
- 17:43play two way basketball. It hasn't been this year, but
- 17:46when you play 2 dimensional basketball and you have arguably
- 17:49one of the best anchored defensive big men in the NBA
- 17:52playing at the top of his game right now, there's no reason why
- 17:56you're playing catch up against a team you're better then.
- 17:59So I I think you have to expect the Knicks in game four to show
- 18:04up and start scoring early and I want to see Jalen Bronson stay
- 18:08out of foul trouble. This has been a big problem
- 18:11throughout this series and in late in the Boston Celtics
- 18:14series. If they keep playing and they
- 18:16keep fighting fire with fire, the New York Knicks are going to
- 18:19go down 3 to 1 and going back to New York.
- 18:22It doesn't bode well when we see Tyrese Halpern hit that ugly,
- 18:27ugly shot that took him in overtime and practically one
- 18:30game, one when the Knicks should be up to 1, not down to one.
- 18:34Yeah, and. That's the difference, I think,
- 18:35with game three and a lot of the other games we've seen against
- 18:37the Pacers, even going back to last year against the Pacers, if
- 18:39Halliburton can have his moments because he's a great player.
- 18:41But remember, last year it was TJ McConnell that was a big X
- 18:44Factor in that series. And yeah, the Knicks had
- 18:47injuries fine, but it's freaking TJ McConnell like a 10 year
- 18:49veteran that is just a three-point shooter off the
- 18:51bench. In game one it was nee Smith.
- 18:53Nee Smith was a a journeyman. Like he's at a Celtics draft
- 18:55pick that Jeff hated for a while.
- 18:57He's not supposed to shoot 8 threes in a game.
- 18:59And sometimes I got, I think they overcompensate too much for
- 19:02one player all the time. Maybe they try to take out
- 19:04Siakam, then they try to take out Halliburton and Siakam went
- 19:06off. And then that's the problem that
- 19:08the Knicks ran into even in the first series against Detroit
- 19:10when Kate Cunningham had this great game too.
- 19:13Then he the Knicks over adjusted and then the game three that
- 19:16they lost Kate. Cunningham is not halber, I know
- 19:18that, but. What I'm saying is that the
- 19:20Pistons role players should not be going off the way Dennis
- 19:23Schroeder and Tim Hardaway were going off in that game.
- 19:26And I think that the Pacers sometimes have gotten into that,
- 19:29too, with McConnell, with Nick Smith and a bunch of these other
- 19:31guys. And I think Tom Thibodeau has to
- 19:33learn to adjust to that kind of thing, trust your defensive
- 19:35players one-on-one and not have to switch so much like you do.
- 19:38And it's gotten these players exposed a lot more often than
- 19:41they should, like Towns and even Mitchell Robinson sometimes on
- 19:43the perimeter when he's better guarding inside.
- 19:46Yeah, I think too, like if if you look at some of the foul
- 19:49trouble too, I I think there's a selfish side of me.
- 19:52Like some of those brunts and fouls were very selfish.
- 19:54Like weren't, weren't needed. They they came out and they're
- 19:57like they could've been 5050 on a block or a charge call,
- 20:00whatever. But there was a few like on on
- 20:02towards the sideline, like the ball is getting pressured in and
- 20:05he like kind of just like pushed and like, you know how important
- 20:08you are to this team, like have a little bit better feel.
- 20:12I think the rotation was a lot better.
- 20:14Obviously you're going to have your three main guys taking
- 20:17shots from the Knicks side, obviously, and Bridges, Brunson
- 20:19and Cat. I would I mean, I know this
- 20:22isn't going to happen. We've kind of, you know, beaten
- 20:24a dead horse on this one. I'd like to see Cat be a little
- 20:26bit more aggressive on the offensive boards.
- 20:30He's going to get them either way.
- 20:32But just, I mean, when you're you're that big, that good, and
- 20:35you're only getting one offensive rebound and then you
- 20:37got a guy like Josh Hart just, you know, finds the basketball
- 20:40and and goes and plays his hard out him off the bench.
- 20:43I thought was great. And everybody that I talked to
- 20:45was like, yeah, that it makes more sense because it's energy.
- 20:49You know, you have that link to be able to guard the perimeter.
- 20:52And as we've seen, even when they're switching out on the
- 20:55perimeter, as as we saw in the last game, it, you know, being
- 20:58able to have those guys like, you know, Mitch Robb be able to
- 21:01have the link to get side to side and force the shots like
- 21:05that. So yeah, it's our three headed
- 21:08monster. On the Knicks side, is is
- 21:10nothing compared to the Pacers. I also, I also think and I going
- 21:15back to what you were saying about Mitchell Robinson and what
- 21:18this team is doing off the bench for the New York Knicks.
- 21:21I also believe that the Knicks again are going to have to get
- 21:24more from OG and Nanobi. OG and Nanobi disappears in
- 21:28certain quarters. He's not scoring enough and he's
- 21:31not giving them enough when he gets hot.
- 21:33And then the Knicks, when he does score, when he's hitting
- 21:36one or two shots, all of a sudden, what is it?
- 21:38What do they do? Jayla Brunson comes in and he's
- 21:41he's forcing up shots and that the momentum completely tears
- 21:46away from what OG and Nanobi was doing throughout the early parts
- 21:50of the quarter. You have to get him that
- 21:52opportunity, opportunity where he is going to get hot and he's
- 21:55going to have the feel. And once OG and an Opie has a
- 21:57feel, his defense is different, his offense is different, He's
- 22:01completely different in the game.
- 22:03He is the missing piece to really take the Knicks to that
- 22:07next level. If he is playing at the top of
- 22:09his game, the Knicks are unbeatable right now out of all
- 22:13four teams. If OG is playing with Mikhail
- 22:16Bridges and Karl Anthony Towns and Jaylen Bronson and they're
- 22:18all playing at the top of their game and you're getting
- 22:20rebounding and and the defense that you need for Mitch Robinson
- 22:24and now Josh Hart coming off the bench, which we've been saying
- 22:27fish, we've been saying that all season long.
- 22:29Why isn't Josh Hart coming off the bench?
- 22:32He is consistent every single time when he's coming off the
- 22:36bench and even starting, he is the guy that they need to get
- 22:39consistency off the bench with Miles McBride.
- 22:41If they could do that, there's no doubt in my mind the Knicks
- 22:45should win this this game tonight and maybe even sweep
- 22:48them throughout the rest of the series.
- 22:49I think this goes seven games if they win tonight.
- 22:52If it doesn't, this is a six game loss series loss for the
- 22:55New York Knicks. Well, Fish, I'm going to go real
- 22:58quick and owed you to your point.
- 23:01Like get him involved, but he's obviously stayed out of foul
- 23:04trouble. So if you go back and look at
- 23:05the history, like he's playing the most minutes, he just can't
- 23:08get the consistency factor. Like he's averaged a little over
- 23:1135 minutes more than anybody in these playoffs.
- 23:13So it's just, you know, he's got to catch fire sometimes because
- 23:16it's been hit or miss and I think he's a huge part.
- 23:19You know, we we were having a meeting during the during the
- 23:23part of the game and I was they were down 20.
- 23:25I thought they were going to go down three O in the series.
- 23:28They look, they outplayed him game one and they lost at the
- 23:31end. They gave up the comeback they
- 23:33get so they get the comeback this one on the way back.
- 23:36So now that we're even on the comebacks close game, game two,
- 23:40then it doesn't go the next way. Shooting doesn't go their way.
- 23:43But there's an inside game that Rick Carlisle is playing with
- 23:46Tom Thibodeau and Errol. You mentioned it before when we
- 23:48had Nesmith. Nesmith is the type of pest that
- 23:53Brunson is like kryptonite for. He's got a little bit more
- 23:57length than Brunson, he's just as physical as Brunson, and he
- 24:00fights over every single screen because the Knicks do not set
- 24:03great screens. How many offensive fouls has
- 24:06Karl Anthony Towns trying to do God and taking us?
- 24:08He's had like 5 hip check fouls. Because he's a terrible screen
- 24:12setter and we're just not good at it.
- 24:14So Brunson isn't able to shake loose that easily from Naismith.
- 24:17He's still good enough to take shots that way, but that's what
- 24:19was happening in Game 2. They're going to lose that match
- 24:21up. If Brunson's playing ISO ball,
- 24:23like you said, speedy, it's not really what you want to see at
- 24:27this level of the game. So what do you do?
- 24:29You do what we said. You put them in that two towers
- 24:32line up and and you get to have Towns run the offense.
- 24:35Except Towns was taking dumb ass fouls in the first half as well,
- 24:39because that's the problem with Towns in the fourth quarter.
- 24:42He woke it up. I mean, Brunson had four fouls
- 24:44before halftime. This is not this is the problem.
- 24:48If they aren't getting in foul trouble, I don't think we have
- 24:51as much trouble. But I have to say, there's one
- 24:53big thing about game three of that made me so happy and was
- 24:57that the campaign that I've been running to get campaigns minutes
- 25:01disappear finally worked because that guy has been pissing me off
- 25:06all season. I never really wanted him on the
- 25:08Knicks because he's a chucker of the highest magnitude.
- 25:11And look, when it's going in, that's great and he's and I'm
- 25:14sure the guys like him and everything like that.
- 25:16He's a veteran around the league, but he's not a winning
- 25:18basketball player. He's never been a winning
- 25:20basketball player in my opinion. He's got 2 good years and a lot
- 25:22of minutes. I can't stand campaign every
- 25:24time I see him and he has the ugliest shot he is.
- 25:27Weird lefty shot. Remember, remember Sean Marion?
- 25:30He played on the Phoenix Suns. Remember him when he came into
- 25:33the league, How ugly, ugly his shot was?
- 25:37Well, that's. What but his?
- 25:38What him though? Yeah, I mean, he if if it went
- 25:41in, it bounced off the backboard.
- 25:43I mean, he never, it never went flush in.
- 25:45And Marion was horrible when it came to shooting.
- 25:48He had the ugly shot. That's what he reminds me of.
- 25:51Paint cannot campaign should not shoot at all and and I'm
- 25:55campaigning it for him not to shoot the ball.
- 25:58It's just absolutely horrible. Every single time I see him go
- 26:02out there and he's running up and down the court and then the
- 26:04way he gives up the ball, he's trying to pass the ball in he
- 26:08and then he's calling for the referees flopping all over when
- 26:11he makes a mistake, making it seem like it wasn't his fault.
- 26:14The guy stinks. I do not know why.
- 26:17I don't know why the Tom Thibodeau thinks that campaign
- 26:21is a is a piece to help the Knicks get over the hump against
- 26:24this Pacer team. They're young, they're fast and
- 26:27I'm going to tell you this right now you what makes the Pacers
- 26:29dangerous is and which they haven't did, they haven't done
- 26:32in this series, especially in game Fours run up and down the
- 26:35court and make the next chase them.
- 26:37That's why they mix actually stayed in the game and including
- 26:41the fourth quarter. They stopped running up and down
- 26:43the court and losing Nesmith. Nesmith as long as they did and
- 26:48him coming back from a roll ankle.
- 26:49He is playing tonight. There's no doubt about it, but
- 26:52he's not 100%. And I'm going to tell you this
- 26:54right now. Don't don't think for one second
- 26:57they're not going to give him a ball because all he needs is
- 27:00confidence. And I've seen this before
- 27:02Michael Jordan with his flu and I remember him.
- 27:05He was sweating and he couldn't even sit on the sidelines.
- 27:07He needed oxygen and he hit 9 consecutive 3 pointers.
- 27:12So don't don't expect this guy did not have a big game for the
- 27:17Indiana Pacers. They're going to play him and
- 27:18he's going to play close to the same amount of minutes if he
- 27:22wasn't hurt, I guarantee. So so there's there's one other
- 27:25thing that I think is really important that the Knicks have
- 27:27to make an adjustment and Brunson getting all those
- 27:30blocking fouls trying to, you know, guard Naismith trying to
- 27:33guard Halliburton driving into the lane.
- 27:36Why is he even doing that? Well, the reason is they're
- 27:39switching the guys so much that Mitchell Robinson isn't
- 27:41underneath protecting that cats not underneath protecting.
- 27:45If those that was the case, he could play off of them a little
- 27:47bit more and not have to be so physical with them as they're
- 27:50going. So we need to find a way to get
- 27:53Mitch underneath and being the rib protector instead of
- 27:55switched out into the into the corner or instead of switched
- 27:58out into a, you know, like a kind of like a wing roll in that
- 28:01defense in this situation. Like, they have to fix that
- 28:05because Brunson can't get get into foul trouble the way that
- 28:07he did. And then they expect to win, you
- 28:09know, coming back from 20 every night, that's not a.
- 28:12Real, they need to play right. They need to give him at least 5
- 28:14to 10 minutes in this game. He's he's a veteran player that
- 28:18can defend multiple position. He's long for a point guard and
- 28:22Hal Burton, when he was playing, he was defending Halperton.
- 28:25Hal Burton had problems with him because he's long.
- 28:28Halperton's a long point guard. That's what the lawn right is.
- 28:31He's he's a great long point guard and he's great defender.
- 28:34Is he going to give you a lot of offense?
- 28:36No, but he's going to give you enough defensively as far as the
- 28:39point guard position is, and that's what you need.
- 28:41You need guys that are going to go out there and force Tyrese
- 28:44Albertan to make mistakes. That's been a big problem for
- 28:48Tyrese Hallbertan throughout this playoffs.
- 28:50When he plays, when he's on, he is on.
- 28:52But if you can get into his head, he doesn't play very well
- 28:55in Indiana. Go look at his points.
- 28:58He's he's averaging eight points less at home than he is away
- 29:03throughout the playoffs. That says a lot.
- 29:04And throughout the season, he had problems scoring at home
- 29:08from from what he was doing away.
- 29:09So I expect Halliburton to have problems shooting the ball.
- 29:14You got to put 2-3 guys, force the ball out of his hands, let
- 29:18the other guys beat you. That's how you win this game.
- 29:21And by the way, rebound the goddamn ball.
- 29:24Rebound the ball. Why are you guys giving them
- 29:27second and third chances? You're the bigger, stronger
- 29:30team. Why are you letting this team
- 29:32out match you on the boards? It's been pathetic at Karl
- 29:36Anthony Towns. You got to wake up, man, in the
- 29:39first, second and third quarter. Wake the hell up.
- 29:42Rebound the goddamn ball. If you have Mitch playing with
- 29:44you, there's no reason why you guys aren't out rebounding by 10
- 29:49or 15 rebounds. And you have the best offensive
- 29:52rebounder, rebounder in all the basketball for the last four
- 29:55years when he's healthy, and that's Mitch Robinson.
- 29:58It's pathetic. Errol, that goes to what Fish
- 30:00was saying earlier. It's when you start switching on
- 30:03the perimeter and you have one of the best rebounders, now
- 30:07you're taking him out of position like you guys were
- 30:08bringing up earlier, like get him down to the block more so
- 30:11that we can use that advantage with both of those guys.
- 30:14And instead of, you know, Mitch getting 6 rebounds and now he's
- 30:17going to have 11:50 where now you're not making him a
- 30:20perimeter wing guy trying to guard that where now you get him
- 30:24under the basket and now he goes from six rebounds to 12 and
- 30:27maybe we get some more offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds.
- 30:30I just when they switch on everything and do that on the
- 30:33perimeter, they just, I think that takes away a huge part of
- 30:36Mitch's game, even though he's capable of guarding out there,
- 30:39but I just think that takes a big part of his game away.
- 30:40Yeah, because you also have these guards that are tipping
- 30:42the bowel out instead of actually grabbing the.
- 30:44Rebound, Yeah. So when did that start becoming
- 30:46a thing? Instead of like grabbing, it's
- 30:48like tipping it. Fast break opportunities they
- 30:50want to create. But Tyson, former Knicks legend
- 30:52Tyson Chase and Chandler. Tyson Chandler who?
- 30:55By the way, it started to become rebounding and that's how Tyson
- 30:58Chandler actually won defensive player of the that year where
- 31:02he's like smacking the ball out to the perimeter.
- 31:04Everything. He tipped everything and counted
- 31:06as a rebound. He was doing that every single
- 31:08time. He was getting like 10 rebounds
- 31:10a game doing that. I.
- 31:10Think there was what gave you? How the hell is that a rebound
- 31:13I. Think there was what gave you 6
- 31:14points to 22 rebounds that doesn't?
- 31:16Make any sense? Just for Jr.
- 31:18Smith to Chuck it up and hit the back iron every time, those are
- 31:22some great Knicks teams. These teams are better.
- 31:25The OG matchup with Siakam is something I do want to talk
- 31:29about before we leave it because that's the former teammates from
- 31:32that Toronto championship team that Siakam had quite a game too
- 31:38dominated. I think he had just shy of 40
- 31:40points in that game and he's a problem.
- 31:43If he's going like that. He can be a real problem, but he
- 31:45can get frustrated and OG played some great defense on him in
- 31:50Game 3 and that's why you didn't hear so much from him
- 31:53offensively. Although OG has been very
- 31:55consistent, 16 points in each of the games on on the offensive
- 31:59end in this series. It's just nothing that's wowing
- 32:02you, and you know he has the capability of wowing you on the
- 32:04offense. He's so important.
- 32:06He is so. So much of his time on Siakam
- 32:08right now, like you, it's hard to play great offense and lock
- 32:12down defense on an All Star. Power and I want to say.
- 32:15What he's got to do? I want to say something.
- 32:16Rick Carlisle at the press conference, he was not happy.
- 32:19He was not happy the way his team played in the fourth
- 32:22quarter. I expect this team to come out
- 32:24strong and try to put the Knicks away early in the game because
- 32:27he wants, they want to get the crowd on their side.
- 32:30They don't want to hear the boos and and the Knicks love that.
- 32:33The Knicks play better when the boos start coming out and they
- 32:36know they're getting the boos because that's the way the
- 32:40Knicks have played all throughout the playoffs.
- 32:42The Knicks have more wins away than any team throughout the
- 32:45playoffs so far. They're six and one away.
- 32:48That's how good the Knicks have been throughout the playoffs.
- 32:51So I expect the Knicks to try to keep getting into the the Pacers
- 32:55heads and Rick Carlisle get this team in foul trouble early.
- 32:59So then he starts to do things that Rick Carlisle doesn't like
- 33:02to do. He start he starts to move his
- 33:04rotation in ways that he doesn't like.
- 33:07And that's when the Knicks play the best at throughout this
- 33:11series is when they get Carlisle to to kind of guess on who he
- 33:15should put out and who what are the matchups in this series and
- 33:18how it's going to work. So I want to see Rick Carlisle
- 33:21get a little frustrated, call timeouts early, then you know
- 33:24the Knicks are playing at the top of their game.
- 33:27The Thunder took a three one series lead over the
- 33:30Timberwolves with a one 28126 win in game four.
- 33:34SHY nearly had a triple double with 40 points, 9 rebounds and
- 33:3810 assists in game 4. Jaylen Williams also had 34
- 33:41points one game after going down with an injury.
- 33:45In game three, SHY is averaging 30.8 points per game, 4.8
- 33:50rebounds per game, and 8.3 assists per game.
- 33:53In this series, Anthony Edwards struggled once again, which are
- 33:5716 points and only one made three pointer.
- 34:00Besides the Minnesota's blowout win in Game 3, Edwards has been
- 34:06a -48 when he has been on the court. 95.6% of the team with a
- 34:133-1 lead have advanced to the NBA Playoff.
- 34:17In NBA Playoff history, with only 13 teams ever that have
- 34:22come back from A31 deficit. Well, I will say this, OK C is
- 34:28definitely, they definitely have the advantage.
- 34:31And by the way they get to go home, they could close it out in
- 34:33OK C, which by the way, they're one of the most impossible teams
- 34:37that beat in OK C. So why wouldn't you think
- 34:41they're going to be able to end this Timberwolves season?
- 34:44Anthony Edwards has been absolutely horrible, except one
- 34:46game. He showed up in game #3 and
- 34:49everybody was like, oh, that's what we want to see with
- 34:50Anthony. And then after the game, he was
- 34:53bragging and pressing and saying, listen, I got my feet
- 34:55under under me. I think I'm going to be a
- 34:57different player. And then all of a sudden in game
- 34:59#4 he did it once again. What a coinky dink.
- 35:02He didn't show up to the game. And then after the game, I
- 35:06wouldn't say he was pointing fingers, but he wasn't taking
- 35:08responsibility for losing that game.
- 35:11Everybody but him actually had a good game.
- 35:14Julius Randall had a good game. And all these secondary players,
- 35:17they needed to have big games. If Anthony Edwards even scores
- 35:2025 points, they win. They absolutely win.
- 35:24But it was just absolutely embarrassing.
- 35:27And and again, Anthony Edwards doesn't take responsibility.
- 35:30And that'll go to me. And I've said this many, many
- 35:33times this, this has gone through what I have said over
- 35:35the last couple of weeks is Anthony Edwards, Kevin Durant
- 35:40and Anthony Edwards favorite player is Kevin Durant.
- 35:42Growing up, he watched Kevin Durant, but Anthony Edwards
- 35:46obviously realizes that Kevin Durant didn't win until he went
- 35:50to Golden State. He couldn't win as the guy.
- 35:53He had to go to Steph Curry's team with Klay Thompson and
- 35:57Draymond Green and all the talent that they had over there
- 35:59and win with that team because he couldn't do it himself.
- 36:02And he did have Russell Westbrook and James Harden, 2
- 36:05losers that never have won. So now you're looking at Anthony
- 36:08Edwards. Anthony Edwards had Carl Anthony
- 36:11Towns, he now has Julius Randall who's playing the best
- 36:14basketball of his career in the playoffs and they still can't
- 36:17get over the hump. So you you wonder if Shia
- 36:21Alexander Alexander the reason why OKC has been dominating the
- 36:24series and the answer is no. Guys like Williams, Jalen
- 36:29Williams, when he is playing at the top of his game and you're
- 36:32getting secondary offense, 34 points or even 24 points from
- 36:36Jalen Williams, there's no way you're beating the OK C Thunder
- 36:40and there and here's another thing, Anthony Edwards and this
- 36:43Timberwolves defense has been one of the best defenses in the
- 36:46league all season long. Where is their defense?
- 36:49Where has their defense gone in this series?
- 36:52And don't tell me shy is that great of an offensive player.
- 36:55We can't stop them. I can name a bunch of great
- 36:58offensive players in the past that had great playoffs and then
- 37:01they play against a great defense.
- 37:03AK, do we remember the Toronto Raptors?
- 37:06Remember Kawhi Leonard? Remember who they played in the
- 37:08final? Speedy, do you remember that
- 37:10Golden State Warriors? The Golden State Warriors and
- 37:13what did Kawhi Leonard have to do?
- 37:15And yes, obviously Klay Thompson went down and Kevin Durant
- 37:18wasn't 100%, but. The Raptors are already up three
- 37:20LO at that point. What did they do?
- 37:22Why they put him on Steph Curry. They put him on Kevin Durant.
- 37:26When you have a defensive player of that magnitude and you can
- 37:30put him on anybody to defend multiple positions and actually
- 37:34have him shut down, that player that gives you an advantage.
- 37:37Why hasn't Anthony Edwards, who's a great two way player,
- 37:41defending multiple positions and when he is on the players that
- 37:45he should be defending, he doesn't even know how to play
- 37:48the play the defensive side of the ball.
- 37:50And Jalen we we all know Julius Randall doesn't doesn't play
- 37:54defense, but Dante Di Vicenzo does.
- 37:56Those other guys do. It's been a poor showing for the
- 38:00Timberwolves who went here last year.
- 38:02They were Western Conference team.
- 38:04They went to the championship last year, lost against Dallas,
- 38:07and by the way, Anthony Edwards played unbelievable throughout
- 38:11the playoffs last year until they hit.
- 38:13They played against the Dallas Mavericks and it had a no show
- 38:16for Anthony Edwards. If Anthony Edwards cannot play
- 38:18under pressure, well then ladies and gentlemen, Anthony Edwards
- 38:21needs to go somewhere where he's the secondary player and he's
- 38:24the second best player on the team because he can't take the
- 38:26pressure. No.
- 38:27And you also look at Minnesota throughout their playoff history
- 38:29with Edwards there too, like it. It seems like when he has the
- 38:32pressure of taking on other players that are better than
- 38:34him, sometimes you've seen that be a trouble for him.
- 38:37And even look at this playoffs so far, Luka Doncic is a better
- 38:40player than him. He wasn't 100% healthy, but
- 38:42again, Minnesota was still scraping by.
- 38:43A lot of those games against the Lakers too, outside of the, I
- 38:45think the game one where they had the blowout, that was the
- 38:48only one and then game two, I didn't think they would have won
- 38:50the series anyway. But Steph Curry's hurt too.
- 38:52So that puts a burden off of you to take that kind of pressure
- 38:55when you're talking all this crap and trying to elevate
- 38:58yourself to a higher level in your press conferences.
- 39:00And then all of a sudden you have a dud after you have that
- 39:02blowout winning Game 3, a big let down factor.
- 39:05And then you could go, you could go prove yourself, go toe to toe
- 39:08with shy Alexander with him having a 40 point near triple
- 39:11double. You go tied toe toe to toe with
- 39:14him and even have 30 point triple double.
- 39:15You win that game. The series is 2 to 2 and all of
- 39:18a sudden you're looking at all the pressure shifting back to OK
- 39:20C. But now the shift, the pressure
- 39:22shifts back to you. And that's the thing that
- 39:24Anthony Edwards I don't think has been able to overcome yet.
- 39:27The one obstacle that's elevating him from taking that
- 39:29next step. He's a top ten player in the
- 39:31NBA. He's a top five player.
- 39:33Right. I was going to say even top five
- 39:34on his best days, but again, we haven't seen those best days in
- 39:37a very long time outside of that one.
- 39:40Game I agree with you. I don't know what you're talking
- 39:42about. I I think the only reason why
- 39:44Anthony Edwards isn't playing well in the series is because
- 39:46the pressure is on him and he can't handle the pressure.
- 39:49That's the facts right now. Anthony Edwards cannot withstand
- 39:52the pressure of no matter where he's playing, where everything
- 39:56is on him. He didn't like the fact that
- 39:58they traded Karl Anthony Towns to the Knicks.
- 39:59He was very upset in the beginning of the season, but as
- 40:02soon as Julius Randall got healthy.
- 40:04And Dante Deficento settled in. This team was playing great
- 40:08two-dimensional basketball. As a matter of fact, they were a
- 40:10better 222 dimensional basketball team than they were
- 40:13last year with the players that they brought in from that trade.
- 40:17Unfortunately, right now when you you can use somebody like
- 40:21Karl Anthony Towns that gives you mismatches against, you
- 40:24know, obviously A-Team like OKC that you do have Hornstein, they
- 40:27do have length, but they've had problems over the last couple of
- 40:31months against big, long, big, big men that can shoot the ball.
- 40:35They don't have that. They don't have a guy that can
- 40:38do that. We all know what they have.
- 40:40And and by the way, they've had problems rebounding the ball in
- 40:43this series. You look at OKC, they're a good
- 40:45rebounding team, but when you're having and I'm not saying
- 40:48Hornstein's not a great rebounder.
- 40:49He's not a great player. Hornstein really didn't become a
- 40:52great player. He was a journeyman in the NBA
- 40:55until he went to the New York Knicks when he found himself
- 40:57under Tom Thibodeau. He got a big time contract with
- 41:00the Knicks, did not want to lose.
- 41:01They if the Knicks could have brought him back with the
- 41:04players that they added in the offseason, they would have.
- 41:07And maybe this is a different series, even with Heinstein.
- 41:10But again, it's grit and they don't have any.
- 41:13Edwards doesn't have any grit. The players that they have over
- 41:17there, there's no grit over there.
- 41:19And Julius Randall, we all know what Julius Randall is.
- 41:22When the going gets tough and the pressures on Julius Randall,
- 41:25he is the brick layer. I've been saying this over and
- 41:29over and over again. And I, by the way, the most
- 41:32consistent player in this series is Julius Randall.
- 41:36The crazy thing about that? Yeah, and if you're going to win
- 41:38like that, it's going to be hard to be able to be a team like,
- 41:40OK, see that being that good with Julius Randall, that being
- 41:43your best scorer for a lot of it too.
- 41:44And I I noticed when they had the comeback, even in the third
- 41:47quarter when OKC was up pretty big at half time and then
- 41:50Minnesota had a big third quarter was a lot of those role
- 41:52players that were getting it going because they were actually
- 41:54playing good team basketball. And you talked about it last
- 41:56week, Geral. Anthony Edwards doesn't know how
- 41:58to play team basketball sometimes.
- 42:00And I think that's something that OKC, he knows how to do
- 42:03Eric Hasselstein, when we had him on last week was mentioned.
- 42:05He's such a good player, man. He's so fun to watch.
- 42:08It just upsets me when the guy it, you know, early in the game,
- 42:12once he gets into his own head, he doesn't play his game and he
- 42:16completely disappears. How many dunks has he missed in
- 42:19this series? I think he missed like four or
- 42:21five dunks. You're one of the best players
- 42:23in the league and you're missing dunks.
- 42:25I mean, come on, guy. But I think, I think Errol, you,
- 42:28we've, we've talked about this when he said he didn't want to
- 42:30be the face of basketball. Do you think he knew?
- 42:33He's trying to tell us something that we don't know.
- 42:35Why would he care to do that, though?
- 42:36Because like, he's supposed to still elevate himself.
- 42:39Like, oh, I'm going to make a statement that I don't want to
- 42:41be the face of basketball. Like why are you choosing the
- 42:43playoffs to do that? And again.
- 42:45Well, I'm just saying maybe he's telling us something.
- 42:47It's like, yeah, I don't have that it gene or whatever.
- 42:49Like, he's a tremendous basketball player, but you could
- 42:52be a tremendous regular season player and never win anything.
- 42:54Did you see what he did with Barack Obama when he was talking
- 42:57to Joel Embiid and he and he was talking about his game and he
- 43:00says he asked Joel Embiid what type of player is, is Anthony
- 43:04Edwards. And he says he's he's a decent
- 43:06player and he's a decent. I'm the truth.
- 43:08Remember when he said that when you when you compare yourself to
- 43:11Paul Pierce, you got to show up to playoff games.
- 43:13Paul Pierce is one of the best playoff players in NBA history.
- 43:17You don't. Have to like Paul Pierce him in
- 43:19the playoffs. Other than when he had to fake
- 43:21his dookie, that's about the only one.
- 43:23No, he he's, he's a great player in the playoffs.
- 43:26And by the way, this is this is going again with the New York
- 43:28Knicks. The Knicks cannot fall behind on
- 43:31this team if they let the Pacers play that high pace, you know,
- 43:35running gun game. The Knicks aren't winning this
- 43:37game. They have to slow the pace down
- 43:39and play 1/2 court basketball game.
- 43:41That's how they win this game. Well, Towns has already got 2
- 43:44fouls sitting down after his arm.
- 43:47Was over the pick and he's got 2 points and two fouls already.
- 43:52Did we not just talk about this? Well, this is the problem.
- 43:55Like, he's not a great playoff player.
- 43:59And we thought that Julius Randall was a bad playoff
- 44:01player. And I'd rather have towns, you
- 44:05know, all things considered. It's just you can't do that and
- 44:09you can't win if you're not on the bench, man.
- 44:12And both of those, both of those fouls were stupid.
- 44:15It's it's like he gets frustrated that he got beat to
- 44:17the spot and he just takes the foul and he doesn't realize
- 44:21there's a lot more place because there's a lot more place.
- 44:25Carl, you lost on that play. So next one you lose on a lot of
- 44:29plays. Just don't take the foul on a
- 44:32fighting over a screen in the first quarter, man.
- 44:35Like that's just so dumb. I mean, at least we got Brunson
- 44:38just doing his thing all the time.
- 44:41And this is going to be back and forth, Errol.
- 44:42This is going to be another one of those coming.
- 44:44Well, OG one. Of these games, what you want to
- 44:46do is you want to get OG and an OB in this game and that's what
- 44:49they're doing they're giving him these easy layups, these easy
- 44:51dunks. That's what they're going to
- 44:53have to do if they want to win this game.
- 44:54OJ needs OG needs to get hot in this game.
- 44:57He needs to score at least 20 points in this game.
- 44:59And they got to let they got to stop giving Siakam all these
- 45:02easy donks, these easy layups and letting them go to the free
- 45:06throw line and even Chuck up threes, which he's no good at.
- 45:09The Knicks cannot play catch up. They need to get an early lead
- 45:12and let them chase the Knicks. That's what the Knicks need to
- 45:16do. But again, the Knicks have not
- 45:18done that really throughout the playoffs.
- 45:20They've been playing chasing basketball.
- 45:22And again, Jalen Bronson needs to get hot in this game.
- 45:25He needs to score at least 35 points in this game.
- 45:27Even if Karl Anthony Towns gives you 15 and 15 if he's if he
- 45:31scores 3540 points, the Knicks have a chance to win this game.
- 45:34And also a better defense overall.
- 45:35I saw some perimeter stat with talent like Towns all guard in
- 45:38the perimeter. I think teams have made like 9
- 45:40out of like 12 shots against them in the series and inside
- 45:44even worse. And here's another thing,
- 45:46Michael Bridges has got to stay out of foul trouble too.
- 45:48Michael Bridges is so important to this team.
- 45:52OG and Michael Bridges are going to be the reason why the Knicks,
- 45:57you know, move forward in the playoffs and progressively beat
- 46:01the Indiana Pacers because the Indiana Pacers don't have any
- 46:05answers to these guys. They're the most athletic
- 46:07players in this series. As good as Tyrese Halperton is,
- 46:12he is not more athletic than these two guys.
- 46:15When they play together on a basketball court, one guy's not
- 46:18better than two. These guys can go up and down
- 46:20the court, defend multiple positions and defend Tyrese
- 46:23Alberton. Tyrese Halperton cannot defend
- 46:26any one of these guys so. You know who you know who else
- 46:29can defend multiple positions? Just getting back to the OK C
- 46:32stuff. Lou Dort.
- 46:33Oh my goodness. There's a reason why Anthony
- 46:36Edwards is not doing that well. It's because of first team all
- 46:38defense guard Luigenz Dort, who has been shutting him down in
- 46:44this game, in this series. Not every game.
- 46:46You're not going to be able to stop a great player like that.
- 46:48Good, great offense beats great defensive, great offenses
- 46:50hitting shots in in basketball, I believe.
- 46:53But it's making it really hard for him and he's getting
- 46:56frustrated. I mean, he took thirteen shots,
- 46:57Errol. He complained in game one when
- 46:59he took how many shots? 13 shots in game one as well.
- 47:04This is your own fault. Like take the shots, demand the
- 47:09ball. Like speedy.
- 47:10You're right, I don't believe in ISO ball as being a solution,
- 47:14but every once in a while if you have so if you can get a switch
- 47:17off the door to get a pick and roll on them, my goodness, get
- 47:21that guy off of you, Anthony Edwards.
- 47:22Just got to space the. Floor like he's not doing it
- 47:25enough off the ball and I, I another thing I want to mention
- 47:28we we with Eric, Eric Haseltine talking about it last week too,
- 47:31like that's what made the warrior so tough because they
- 47:34know how to space the floor off the ball.
- 47:35Like you don't have guys standing still off the ball.
- 47:39And sometimes I feel like Edwards, whether it's because of
- 47:41lack of effort or whether it's because of just his ego.
- 47:44By the way, the Knicks are going tick for tack.
- 47:46It's Tyrese Halliburton versus Jalen Bronson, and they're going
- 47:48back and forth on the band basketball costume.
- 47:51It's awesome. This is what you want to see
- 47:52from your best players. That's what you want to.
- 47:54Say, man, it's exactly what you want to see.
- 47:57I mean, as far as Halliburton goes, I'd like to see Bridges
- 48:00attack him on the defensive end a little bit to make him have to
- 48:03work a little bit on defense to try to slow up his offensive
- 48:06game. Because Bridges is more than
- 48:07capable of taking Halliburton to the hole he's got.
- 48:10He's, I think it's probably the same size, if not a little bit
- 48:12bigger than than Halliburton and, you know, a little bit more
- 48:16physical and he. Got him on the block 1
- 48:18possession. He got him on an and one.
- 48:19I'd like to see a lot more of that and just make Halliburton
- 48:22have to worry about that side of the court a little bit more than
- 48:25he's had to, because when he has to worry about just offense,
- 48:28that guy is. Awesome, and Brunson needs to
- 48:30stay away from fouling. Good.
- 48:31Just stay away. Let him shoot the ball.
- 48:34Who cares? Stop fouling and putting
- 48:36yourself in position where you're off the basketball court.
- 48:39They need your offense. Why the hell are you putting
- 48:42them in a bad situation where you're going to trust Miles
- 48:45McBride to keep you in the game or give you the points that
- 48:47you're going to provide when you're on the basketball court?
- 48:50That's a big problem that the Knicks have had throughout this
- 48:53playoff, this series is because they're they're trusting that
- 48:57their best player, who by the way, all season long really
- 49:00never fouled out really at all. And then all of a sudden in two
- 49:04playoff series, they fouled out in two of them.
- 49:07So you you don't put your team in a situation where you can't
- 49:10play. So it's I mean.
- 49:12He knows it too, though, You know, like that was the first
- 49:14thing he said when the game was over.
- 49:16He's like, I got to stop fouling.
- 49:17He's that was his first thing out of his mouth and he knows
- 49:20it. And he's he's got you got to get
- 49:22to your spots faster. And if you got to be smarter
- 49:24with your contests, you just got to be smarter about it.
- 49:27You can't just go for every single contest.
- 49:30Look at them bringing in Precious right now.
- 49:32I think that's the first time he's been in.
- 49:34Rotation I mean. And the and the terrible fouls.
- 49:37I mean, look at look at what Josh Hart did.
- 49:39Why are you fouling? Why are you pushing the guy
- 49:41behind? Why are you putting this?
- 49:43Very offensive foul. They're so stupid.
- 49:45Why are you doing that? Just let them.
- 49:47If they're going to rebound the ball, let them rebound the ball.
- 49:50Why are you putting your team in harm's way?
- 49:53This is why the Knicks get into these situations.
- 49:55You know the Knicks are going to make a run in the fourth quarter
- 49:58and then you're letting Tyrese Halberton get these free throws.
- 50:02Why are you? Letting that it's a lot of
- 50:03pressure to put on Precious when he hasn't been out there in a
- 50:07long time and you don't have. I get this.
- 50:09They have no towns, no Robinson and no OG on the court right
- 50:13now. And Precious has to just hold it
- 50:15down. That's asking a lot.
- 50:17I mean, it is against, you know, they still have their some of
- 50:19their starters out there. Let's see what the guys have.
- 50:22You know, heart. This is when heart shines.
- 50:23This is when guys like, you know, Brunson just put their
- 50:26head down and get to the hoop. So I'm excited for this game.
- 50:29Luckily, Turner's not in the game right now, but.
- 50:33You're letting them go on these stretches where they're scoring
- 50:35a lot of points. You got to stop them.
- 50:38You cannot play tick for tack. And and that goes for the same
- 50:41with the Indiana Pacers and how hard it's a 3 pointer.
- 50:44But again. And and just got a rebound.
- 50:46Yeah, well, I I want to see more of these guys actually want it.
- 50:51There are parts of these games where I just think that they
- 50:54give up and they're better than Indiana.
- 50:56Indiana is a young team. They're going to go up and down
- 50:58the court, they're going to play good basketball, but then they
- 51:01throw the ball away like that and they'll they'll 3 on ones by
- 51:05the way, that was an offensive foul.
- 51:07That was an offensive foul and they didn't call that I'm.
- 51:09A little bit ahead of you it's it's just going to go like this
- 51:11back and. Forth dude, you know you're a
- 51:13little the. Series that's not going to go
- 51:14back and forth is this game five that's coming up for Oklahoma
- 51:19City and Minnesota. Guys, that one's not going much
- 51:21more. There's no way this, that was
- 51:24their chance. They gave everything they had.
- 51:25There's a close game the whole way.
- 51:27They blew him out in game three. You know, it's a great response,
- 51:30but you got to do it consistently to be a great, to
- 51:33be great in the NBA. And that's what, you know,
- 51:35Anthony Edwards got to learn. You know, I was most critical of
- 51:37them earlier on, you know, even before the playoffs, because I
- 51:40hated the stuff he was saying. I really just hated the stuff he
- 51:44was saying. It didn't sound like a guy.
- 51:45I want to be the best player on my team.
- 51:47In fact, it reminds me a little bit of Carl and I think Towns,
- 51:50who I don't want him to be the best player on my team.
- 51:52I want him to be the second best player.
- 51:53Maybe if somehow, you know, every once in a while OG plays
- 51:57better than him or something like that.
- 51:58But I'd like him to be my second best player.
- 52:00And Anthony Edwards might have to be somebody's second bananas
- 52:03before he wins a title if he's going to play like this when
- 52:06people are counting on a man. Because I don't, I don't like
- 52:09what I see. The eye test is bad, Errol, and
- 52:11we know you're a big eye test guy.
- 52:13I'm also an Anthony Edwards fan and I, I just, I don't know if
- 52:16he can win without playing with another superstar right beside
- 52:21him. And it just seems like that
- 52:22that's the route it's going. And, and I think it obviously
- 52:25Alex Rodriguez now owns the team do and I, I don't see Alex
- 52:28Rodriguez trading away his best player.
- 52:30But if you have a chance to probably add two young, two
- 52:34young players to this roster in a, in a future 3-4 first round
- 52:39draft picks, maybe that's the route you go because Anthony
- 52:42Edwards is just not getting it done.
- 52:44Remember with the Timberwolves with Stefan Marbury and
- 52:46obviously Kevin Garnett, they eventually they traded Stefan
- 52:50Marbury and what did they do? Then eventually they traded
- 52:53Kevin Garnett because they couldn't get over the hump.
- 52:55They couldn't win with these two guys and and again, they have
- 52:58not played in the finals. So this team has been an
- 53:02expansion team and they never played in the finals with the
- 53:05talent that they've had over the years.
- 53:07They've never gotten over the hump to get into the finals with
- 53:09all the trades they've made. They had Karl Anthony Towns,
- 53:12they had they had Butler, Jimmy Buckets, they had Tom Thibodeau
- 53:17and they had Anthony Edwards there and then they make a trade
- 53:19with Utah. They had another big man it it
- 53:22just doesn't. They gave up five first round
- 53:24draft picks and they they still can't get over the hub.
- 53:27They're to me, Anthony Edwards is the problem.
- 53:29That's just my point. Before we wrap up, I just want
- 53:32to mention Carl's comment too, the timber of the Thunder doing
- 53:35a great boxing one on Anthony Edwards too.
- 53:37And yeah, and I think that's something that.
- 53:40The best players find a way out of.
- 53:41It and that's where I think he's actually referencing your Kevin
- 53:43Durant analogy too. Like I think Kevin Durant early
- 53:46in his career was very much like that where he just either kept
- 53:48shooting or was taking the wrong types of shots when he got a
- 53:51little bit of pressure on him. And it took a little while for
- 53:54him to even overcome that. Now, even after the first couple
- 53:56of years in OKC, Durant actually became a very good playoff
- 53:59player after that where he was I think averaging 29 points a
- 54:01game. But like you said, still can't
- 54:03win a championship until he can't left the Golden.
- 54:05State you need to win and be a winner and and again Steph, I'll
- 54:09take shots of Steph Curry all the time, but he's a winner.
- 54:12He's a winner he find found a way.
- 54:14It doesn't matter who he played with and I I give him credit, he
- 54:16still won. So and and it took Kevin
- 54:19Garnett, I mean Kevin Garnett to win a championship by leaving,
- 54:22leaving the Timberwolves to go to Boston.
- 54:24And the same thing with Durant. It took Kevin Durant to leave OK
- 54:28C to go to Golden State to win a championship.
- 54:30Yes, he was the best player on that roster in that team, but he
- 54:33needed to play with another superstar and it wasn't his team
- 54:36where the pressure was off him. Anthony Edwards might be another
- 54:39guy that might just have to go somewhere else to win a
- 54:42championship with another player.
- 54:44So unfortunately. And now, ladies and gentlemen,
- 54:47our golf clap of the day. This deserves a golf clap.
- 54:52No doubt. Golf clap, Golf clap and the
- 54:57golf dab. The car, it was about the golf
- 54:59dab. But the golf clap of the day
- 55:01goes to the New York Islanders. Finally, they make a unormous,
- 55:08and I say unormous because it's a word that makes no sense.
- 55:11Enormous move as they added AGM to this team and finally made
- 55:17the right choice. There were a lot of
- 55:19conversations that they were going to add these veteran guys
- 55:22that have ruined organizations. Holland was the big name that
- 55:26everybody was talking about from the Edmonton Oilers after
- 55:28getting fired last year. He's the one who hired Knobloch.
- 55:32He's the one who obviously was a part of those runs with the
- 55:35Edmonton Oilers who are could be on their way to another Stanley
- 55:38Cup finals. But guess what?
- 55:40They went with the young guy, Matthew Darsh, who, by the way,
- 55:44was a part of the Lightnings organization for the last three
- 55:47to four years. He won a Stanley Cup there.
- 55:49Stevie Eisenman, before he left, hired this guy to be a part of
- 55:53that executive side of the puck. And he has been a guy that a lot
- 55:57of people said should have gotten a job last year.
- 56:00But again, the there were a lot of teams that passed up on them.
- 56:04But the Islanders finally made a good choice.
- 56:06They bring in a young guy that understands consistency and
- 56:11speed, something the Islanders know nothing about over the last
- 56:14couple of years with Lou, AKA sleeping Lou, who sleeps before
- 56:19he even thinks, before he makes a move.
- 56:21But this was a great move for the Islanders executives, their
- 56:25their ownership, Ledecky and obviously Malkin.
- 56:28This is a sensational move. I think Matthew Marsh is going
- 56:32to be sensational for the New York colleges with all the draft
- 56:35stock that they had thanks to sleeping Lou, the number one
- 56:38pick in this year's class and possibly could trade out of that
- 56:41pick and still had a good player and have three first round draft
- 56:45picks next year. But they can get they can get me
- 56:47some. And I think that's where I
- 56:49believe the organization is going to go instead of Hagen.
- 56:51But look at Hagen, look at the United States team winning their
- 56:55first championship since 93 years, by the way.
- 56:59And guess who were the best player on that roster was
- 57:02Thompson, who by the way, didn't play for Team USA in that All
- 57:06Star Olympic, whatever the hell they call that Four Nations
- 57:09crap. How did he not make the team he
- 57:12is that he was a by far the best player in that tournament and he
- 57:16he had scored forty goals again this year with the Buffalo
- 57:19Sabres. Maybe United States will be
- 57:21thinking for the Olympics next year when you're picking your
- 57:24team. But yeah, congratulations for
- 57:26Team USA and congratulations for Darsh.
- 57:28I think it's a great move for the New York Olingers.
- 57:30I think it puts the Olingers in a very, very good position.
