- 0:00Speaker 1: But the Eagles did have a good weekend we think. Anyway,
- 0:03Speaker 1: Let's see what Jeff Mocher thinks from the Inside of
- 0:06Speaker 1: the Birds podcast. They broke it all down and let's
- 0:08Speaker 1: get his takeaways on the weekend that was for the Birds,
- 0:12Speaker 1: and obviously it all the way goes back to Thursday night. Jeff,
- 0:15Speaker 1: you weren't on Friday, so I'll get your reaction to
- 0:18Speaker 1: the decision to trade up. Mackay Lemon is the new
- 0:22Speaker 1: pick and the new toy at wide receiver.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Let's get your thoughts on Lemon.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Yeah, really an interesting pick from an Eagles standpoint, obviously
- 0:32Speaker 3: finishing of value and knowing that Aj Brown is out
- 0:35Speaker 3: the door even more so. Not your typical Eagles trade
- 0:40Speaker 3: up for pick in terms of athleticism, but certainly certainly
- 0:45Speaker 3: in terms of production. This was one of the most
- 0:48Speaker 3: productive wide receivers in college football last year. Over eleven
- 0:52Speaker 3: hundred yards, double digit touchdowns, very versatile plays, slot plays outside,
- 0:57Speaker 3: will compliment what they want to do offensively really well,
- 1:00Speaker 3: will compliment Devonte Smith really well. Probably about as pro
- 1:04Speaker 3: ready as any of the guys drafted in the first round,
- 1:08Speaker 3: regardless of position, which is always great. You expect them
- 1:12Speaker 3: to be able to play right away. So I mean,
- 1:14Speaker 3: I think, like most of us, Mike, I'm sure you're
- 1:16Speaker 3: yourself as well, and you kind of thought going into
- 1:18Speaker 3: the night, offensive tackle was going to be the spot,
- 1:22Speaker 3: and that where they were picking might be the sweet spot.
- 1:25Speaker 3: But I did start to feel as we got closer
- 1:28Speaker 3: to the draft that guys that they might like, like
- 1:30Speaker 3: a Katie Proctor or a Boake Miller, were going to
- 1:33Speaker 3: go a little earlier because of how much people value that.
- 1:36Speaker 4: Position and because this was an interesting year.
- 1:39Speaker 3: For those guys to get one. So and that's really
- 1:42Speaker 3: what happened. You know, there would have been a pretty
- 1:44Speaker 3: steep price to have to move up to get Proctor
- 1:47Speaker 3: or the other guys.
- 1:48Speaker 1: It seemed that they may have tried to go up
- 1:51Speaker 1: in nineteen was an interesting spot when you go back
- 1:54Speaker 1: to that night, because you know, it seemed like Philadelphia
- 1:57Speaker 1: maybe talking to the Panthers there, and if the Panthers
- 2:01Speaker 1: were feeling like Monroe Freeling was gonna be the Eagles pick,
- 2:04Speaker 1: they probably decided, no, we're not going to trade with you,
- 2:07Speaker 1: because I think they wanted the Eagles themselves. Maybe the
- 2:09Speaker 1: Eagles tried to move to that spot for Freeling couldn't
- 2:11Speaker 1: get it and decided, you know what, we'll just go
- 2:13Speaker 1: to twenty and the next guy on our board, who's
- 2:16Speaker 1: in the top fifteen. A lot of people in mock drafts,
- 2:19Speaker 1: it might even been we were talking about this on
- 2:22Speaker 1: Thursday or Friday. Eli Stower's the tight end. He goes
- 2:25Speaker 1: at fifty four. I mean, the first time they have
- 2:28Speaker 1: taken pass catchers back to back since nineteen eighty two.
- 2:32Speaker 1: So let's get your thought on the fact that not
- 2:35Speaker 1: only do they get a wide receiver in the first round,
- 2:37Speaker 1: they took a very past catching type of tight end
- 2:39Speaker 1: in the second round.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Yeah, and man, Eli Stowers, Mike, First of all, when
- 2:46Speaker 3: you talk about just unbelievable athleticisms, the guy is a forty.
- 2:49Speaker 4: Five and a half inch vertical.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Okay, I don't even know if I have a twenty
- 2:53Speaker 3: five and a half inch vertical. This guy has a
- 2:55Speaker 3: forty five and a half inch vertical. He has great
- 2:59Speaker 3: size for the position. He was just a quarterback a
- 3:02Speaker 3: couple of years ago. Then he transfers to Vanderbilt, you know,
- 3:05Speaker 3: becomes a tight end, plays with Diego Pavia and becomes
- 3:08Speaker 3: a really good ass catcher out of his position with
- 3:12Speaker 3: a lot of upside. And that's you know, the Eagles
- 3:14Speaker 3: will tell you all the time, they are very They
- 3:18Speaker 3: look at the draft and all of their picks as
- 3:20Speaker 3: what will this person, this prospect be three or four
- 3:23Speaker 3: years down the road. And you know, it worked out
- 3:25Speaker 3: with Zacher, it worked out with with Dallas Goddard, and
- 3:30Speaker 3: there were some quescial marks on both of those guys too,
- 3:32Speaker 3: a little bit more as far as pedigree with Sotours
- 3:35Speaker 3: because he's new to the position. But I spoke to
- 3:39Speaker 3: people around only going into the draft and asked what
- 3:41Speaker 3: what kind of great they had on him, and people
- 3:44Speaker 3: told me he was a guy that they had in
- 3:45Speaker 3: the second round, So not a reach, and you gotta
- 3:49Speaker 3: trust that the development will be there. And you're right.
- 3:50Speaker 3: And now you got two pass catchers. As you know,
- 3:53Speaker 3: the Eagles are looking to reshape their offense. And the
- 3:56Speaker 3: point I made on the podcast Inside the Burdens that
- 3:59Speaker 3: was out this warm is you have now a way
- 4:02Speaker 3: more diverse skill set with your pass catchers than you've
- 4:05Speaker 3: had over the last three years. You've got field stretchers
- 4:08Speaker 3: with the let's assume no A. J. Brown, right, You've
- 4:10Speaker 3: got field stretchers with Devonte Smith and Marquise Brown. You've
- 4:14Speaker 3: got guys who can attack the middle of the field
- 4:16Speaker 3: multiple with Dallas Goddard with Tours, now with Frank helk
- 4:21Speaker 3: Terror who can still and then of course mkayle Lemon.
- 4:24Speaker 4: Right, you've got guys who.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Can play at all three levels, use every blade of
- 4:28Speaker 3: the grass on the field. Now it's up for the
- 4:30Speaker 3: quarterback to do that in this offense.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Right.
- 4:33Speaker 1: And you know today Adam Schefter reporting that the Eagles
- 4:37Speaker 1: will trade AJ Brown most likely June first. The thing
- 4:40Speaker 1: that I thought was interesting, though I don't know if
- 4:41Speaker 1: you caught this. He said for a first round pick,
- 4:44Speaker 1: but in twenty twenty eight was what he was reporting there.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I don't know why not next year, but two years
- 4:50Speaker 1: down the line that would be you know, you get
- 4:53Speaker 1: a first round pick, which is great, but to have
- 4:55Speaker 1: to wait two years for that would be kind of interesting,
- 4:59Speaker 1: you know what.
- 4:59Speaker 4: I I like it, and I think I remember having
- 5:01Speaker 4: this conversation.
- 5:02Speaker 3: With you maybe two weeks ago just that and that
- 5:05Speaker 3: I feel like Elliott Wolf the Patriots GM is pretty
- 5:09Speaker 3: shrewd himself. I think he makes some interesting moves and
- 5:12Speaker 3: I've always felt like this felt like a chess match
- 5:14Speaker 3: between the two gms. You know how we always saying
- 5:17Speaker 3: I'm not gonna you know, I don't have any trades
- 5:19Speaker 3: or he's an Eagle, and Elliot Wolf being like, oh yeah,
- 5:22Speaker 3: we're gonna address this position, but not necessarily giving the
- 5:26Speaker 3: first round in the second round all the things early
- 5:28Speaker 3: on that you heard the Eagles were looking for, and
- 5:30Speaker 3: it always made sense that the Eagles would actually want
- 5:34Speaker 3: next year's Patriots first round pick because this year was
- 5:37Speaker 3: the last pick of the second last pick, and most
- 5:39Speaker 3: people don't think the Patriots are gonna be good enough
- 5:40Speaker 3: to get back, or at least that it would be.
- 5:43Speaker 3: It's hard, it's hard to get back to the super Bowl, right,
- 5:45Speaker 3: So you feel like the Patriots twenty twenty seven pick
- 5:48Speaker 3: will be better than it was this year. And if
- 5:51Speaker 3: Elliott Wolf figures out a way to make him twenty
- 5:53Speaker 3: eight pick, that's pretty interesting because I think both gms
- 5:57Speaker 3: would be like, hmm, I wonder where it will be,
- 5:59Speaker 3: you know next Yeah, it's gonna be a really interesting
- 6:01Speaker 3: cat and mouse game, all.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Right, Jeff.
- 6:04Speaker 1: So they go out, they get a wide receiver, which
- 6:06Speaker 1: we all think that they needed to add. They go
- 6:08Speaker 1: get this tight end that we've been talking about for
- 6:11Speaker 1: about two drafts. Now, so they go get the tight
- 6:14Speaker 1: end and then in the third round they've been talking
- 6:16Speaker 1: about offensive line. Markel Bell very interesting, you know, just
- 6:20Speaker 1: a mammoth man six', nine just a large human. Being
- 6:25Speaker 1: played left, tackle though primarily in. College so what do
- 6:28Speaker 1: you make Of bell being the?
- 6:30Speaker 3: Pick, Yeah both Of miami's, Tackles Markel, bell the left
- 6:34Speaker 3: and then the right one was the guy who went
- 6:35Speaker 3: in the first. Round Francis malnoa are just Road. GREATER i,
- 6:39Speaker 3: mean you can understand Why miami ran the ball and
- 6:42Speaker 3: played so well and made it's in the national championship.
- 6:44Speaker 3: GAME i, mean they just Have road. GREATER i thinks
- 6:48Speaker 3: trist Of ball he was an offensive, lineman If i'm not. Mistaken,
- 6:51Speaker 3: SO i mean it doesn't it's no surprise that he
- 6:53Speaker 3: knows how to desolve these. Guys and these guys are just,
- 6:56Speaker 3: enormous but neither of them are really you wouldn't call
- 6:59Speaker 3: him dancing, bear but they're enormous.
- 7:02Speaker 4: And they have long, wingspans and.
- 7:04Speaker 3: They are power. Players So bell projects more as a
- 7:08Speaker 3: right tackle because he's not a ballerina with the left.
- 7:10Speaker 3: FEET i, mean he's not as mobile as some of
- 7:13Speaker 3: the guys who play that position in THE. Nfl but
- 7:15Speaker 3: he's a, huge wide bodied. Guy and what someone for
- 7:18Speaker 3: personnel from a different team explained to me, is if
- 7:21Speaker 3: you're a wide body like like, that you might struggle
- 7:24Speaker 3: a little bit with speed, rushers but when you have
- 7:27Speaker 3: long arms and a firm base like, that you can
- 7:29Speaker 3: get away with it without having great. Feet because you're so,
- 7:33Speaker 3: wide they had to get around. You is so, difficult
- 7:36Speaker 3: even if you have good bend and. Twitching so we'll.
- 7:39Speaker 3: SEE i, mean do we all think that they were
- 7:42Speaker 3: going to take an offensive tackle to Be lange The
- 7:44Speaker 3: johnson successor in the first? Round, yeah a lot of us.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Today it didn't work out that. Way can we say
- 7:49Speaker 3: that a third round pick is going to Be Lane
- 7:51Speaker 3: johnson's success. Or, no but let's see how it unfolds
- 7:54Speaker 3: That as a third round. Pick you hope that he's
- 7:56Speaker 3: a good backup year one and develops into a. Star and,
- 8:00Speaker 3: shoot maybe you don't get A hall Of fame right.
- 8:03Speaker 3: TACKLE i, mean, Certainly Jordan mylotta is a really good left.
- 8:06Speaker 3: TACKLE i don't think anybody's calling him A hall Of
- 8:08Speaker 3: famer Or Jason. Peters you just you just get a
- 8:10Speaker 3: you just want to get to make sure you get
- 8:12Speaker 3: a really good player at that position that you can depend.
- 8:14Speaker 1: On, uh you any thought at all that he would
- 8:17Speaker 1: be a guy an option to play?
- 8:18Speaker 2: Guard?
- 8:21Speaker 3: UH i think need bend because he's played mostly tackle
- 8:26Speaker 3: might be a. Concern BUT i would imagine that they
- 8:29Speaker 3: will give him some cross training there like they do
- 8:32Speaker 3: with all offensive tackles as.
- 8:34Speaker 1: That because Of, beckton who was a tackled he was
- 8:36Speaker 1: a mammoth of a, guy they did slide him into right.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Guard, yeah different offensive line. Coach although you can make
- 8:43Speaker 3: the argument that the two guys that they drafted here
- 8:44Speaker 3: on the offensive line are feel Like stoutland guys because
- 8:47Speaker 3: they're so. Massive The georgia kids really massive, too but different,
- 8:51Speaker 3: offense more horizontal. Movement so we'll. SEE i think that.
- 8:55Speaker 3: AGAIN i think the'll cross train him and see and
- 8:57Speaker 3: if it fits and it, works then, yeah he might
- 8:59Speaker 3: have a shot. There somebody told, me LIKE i was
- 9:02Speaker 3: saying with the Other miami, guy maw you, NOAH i
- 9:04Speaker 3: had a guy from a different team told me he
- 9:06Speaker 3: felt that if they moved him to guard he would
- 9:08Speaker 3: be an All pro guard because he wasn't absolutely sure
- 9:12Speaker 3: he'd be a great. Tackle but and so maybe the
- 9:14Speaker 3: same thing With Mark.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Holbell Jeff Boscher football at four powered by The inside
- 9:19Speaker 1: of The birds. Podcast let's, quarterback fifth. Round this isn't a throwaway, pick,
- 9:23Speaker 1: Right this isn't like a seventh. ROUNDER a fifth round
- 9:26Speaker 1: guy makes the team. Generally give me your read of
- 9:29Speaker 1: The tea leaves On Cole, peyton who more of a
- 9:32Speaker 1: dual threat? Guy you, know he was the seven hundred
- 9:35Speaker 1: and seventy seven rushing yards thirteen.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Touchdowns this is a dual THREAT.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Qb he sure. Is AND i wrote, it you, know
- 9:44Speaker 3: we talked about this on the, pod had some intel on.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Him wrote a story today On Chilly. Voice you, KNOW
- 9:48Speaker 3: i reached out to someone WHO i knew had graded
- 9:52Speaker 3: or watched a lot of his tape and was at
- 9:54Speaker 3: his pro day to ask the person from a different
- 9:57Speaker 3: teams personnel guy for what he. Thought and his first
- 10:00Speaker 3: response to me, WAS i don't. Think i'm not sure
- 10:03Speaker 3: he's a. Quarterback that's how he phrase, THAT i am
- 10:05Speaker 3: not sure he's a. Quarterback and that was an interesting.
- 10:09Speaker 3: Take and, really you, know if you're read up on the,
- 10:12Speaker 3: guy there's Some Taysom hill comparisons.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Because he's such a dual threat. Guy and because HE
- 10:19Speaker 4: i mean he, listened he six to, three.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Two, Forty he ran like a four or. Five he's
- 10:25Speaker 3: an incredible. Athlete and you Heard Nick sirianni, say every
- 10:29Speaker 3: TIME i was watching his, TAPE i could told he
- 10:31Speaker 3: was the best athlete on the. Field AND i.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Think we lost You boucher. Here it's kind of going
- 10:43Speaker 2: in and.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Out we'll see if we can't pop him back, on
- 10:46Speaker 1: BECAUSE i do want to hear more about What peyton
- 10:49Speaker 1: brings to the table because to, me the follow up
- 10:51Speaker 1: question might, be does that mean A tanner McKee deal
- 10:55Speaker 1: is possibly still on the?
- 10:57Speaker 2: Table that's number? One number?
- 10:59Speaker 1: Two we Got mosu're, back all, right let's go to
- 11:03Speaker 1: that we lost you. There you were talking About, peyton
- 11:05Speaker 1: which is interesting because you would you agree a fifth
- 11:08Speaker 1: round pick generally makes the, team which means the speculation
- 11:12Speaker 1: on McKee would probably be next because you Brought Andy
- 11:15Speaker 1: dalton in.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Here, Yeah so where did you lose?
- 11:17Speaker 1: Me?
- 11:17Speaker 3: Act BECAUSE i had some really interesting things when we're talking.
- 11:20Speaker 1: About, that you had some interesting nuggets on.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Him all, Right so WHEN i was WHEN i reached
- 11:26Speaker 3: out to somebody WHO i knew had watched a lot
- 11:28Speaker 3: of tape on him from a different team personal executive
- 11:31Speaker 3: and went to was pro. DAY i, said what do
- 11:34Speaker 3: you make of this? Guy and he, Said i'm not
- 11:36Speaker 3: sure he's a. QUARTERBACK i, said, oh AND i, said
- 11:40Speaker 3: well that's a that's a heck of a. Statement AND i,
- 11:42Speaker 3: said when you were at his pro. Day the reason
- 11:45Speaker 3: why he said, that by the, way for those who don't,
- 11:47Speaker 3: know is this kid is an unbelievable. Athlete and he
- 11:51Speaker 3: only had a thirteen starts in college At North Dakota,
- 11:53Speaker 3: state not exactly like you, Know Ty simpson had one
- 11:56Speaker 3: year starting, too but he's At alabama and he ran
- 11:59Speaker 3: up four or five at two hundred and thirty seven.
- 12:02Speaker 3: POUND i, mean his athletic testing is just through the roof, ridiculous, right.
- 12:08Speaker 2: And so he what's the guy In New? Orleans is?
- 12:10Speaker 2: HE i mean they look at him like.
- 12:12Speaker 3: That, yes, Yes Taysom hill is the comp in how
- 12:16Speaker 3: you might use this. Guy and that's why the person
- 12:19Speaker 3: said to, Me i'm not sure he's a. QUARTERBACK i
- 12:21Speaker 3: don't think he was saying he could never play quarterback
- 12:24Speaker 3: or he's not going to throw the. Ball but it's
- 12:26Speaker 3: more that you have a guy that is so athletic
- 12:29Speaker 3: and more of a, polished say runner at an. Athlete
- 12:32Speaker 3: Even Nick, siriani if you heard him talk about, him he, said,
- 12:35Speaker 3: MAN i was watching the tape and the guy Made
- 12:38Speaker 3: the guy was clearly the best athlete on the, field,
- 12:41Speaker 3: right no like out of, Anybody and he made all
- 12:44Speaker 3: these wow. Plays he didn't say wow, passes he, said
- 12:46Speaker 3: made a lot of wow, plays. Right So i'm very
- 12:50Speaker 3: curious to see what the usage is going to. BE i,
- 12:54Speaker 3: mean he has a long way to go as a,
- 12:57Speaker 3: passer as a pocket, passer. DON'T i don't buy into
- 13:00Speaker 3: the seventy two percent accuracy. Rate that that's. Great it's
- 13:04Speaker 3: nice that the highly schemed quarterback friendly. Offense if you
- 13:09Speaker 3: watch this guy's, highlights you'll see probably as, many if not,
- 13:13Speaker 3: more unbelievable runs then you will. Passes So i'm very
- 13:19Speaker 3: curious to see what The eagles have in mind. Here
- 13:22Speaker 3: AS i wrote in The Philly boys, story They mike
- 13:24Speaker 3: The eagles have been looking for sort of these gadgety
- 13:27Speaker 3: guys at different. Positions you Know Ben Van, summer and
- 13:29Speaker 3: they had big plans for kept getting hurt Averyt. Williams
- 13:33Speaker 3: they signed him last. Year this kind of hybrid cornerback
- 13:37Speaker 3: running back from The falcons who just didn't do much
- 13:40Speaker 3: well it was supposed to his athlete and he never
- 13:41Speaker 3: made the team either because he just he was hurt
- 13:44Speaker 3: all throughout. It okay's But i'm just really curious on
- 13:48Speaker 3: where they're going to use this guy because at his
- 13:51Speaker 3: pro day he was asked to do non quarterback, drills
- 13:55Speaker 3: so clearly other teams also wanted to see if there's
- 13:59Speaker 3: something else in, him maybe tight. END i don't, know,
- 14:01Speaker 3: right but he, declined which is his right to do
- 14:04Speaker 3: and probably smart to. Do but just know that teams
- 14:09Speaker 3: looked at him and saw far more of A Taysom
- 14:13Speaker 3: hill athletic guy than a. Quarterback.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Gotcha well that's good breakdown there With Jeff, Boscher so
- 14:21Speaker 1: keep that in mind now when thinking About Cole, payton
- 14:25Speaker 1: who was drafted in the fifth round By, philadelphia and,
- 14:28Speaker 1: again fifth round means generally you're probably gonna make this.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Team let's go To Michael, morris Another georgia. Guy this
- 14:36Speaker 1: is a offensive, guard left guard but played right guard
- 14:40Speaker 1: in twenty twenty, four so it sounds like a guy
- 14:42Speaker 1: who could potentially be that swing guard for.
- 14:45Speaker 3: You, Yeah i'm another guy who is just a really
- 14:49Speaker 3: good athletic. Tester now there's some caution. Here apparently between
- 14:54Speaker 3: the end of the season and the combine he put
- 14:56Speaker 3: fifteen pounds. On he went from like three point thirty
- 14:59Speaker 3: to three Five and like a guy's gaining weight sometimes
- 15:04Speaker 3: on the on the old pre draft circuit because they're
- 15:07Speaker 3: going out wining and dining with teams and eating steak
- 15:10Speaker 3: dinners and this and. That but you, know he was
- 15:13Speaker 3: a six round. PICK i don't know how many thirty
- 15:15Speaker 3: visits he. Had and also this is from the end
- 15:17Speaker 3: of the. Seasons on the, combine most people are shedding
- 15:19Speaker 3: weight because they're working out so, much not adding. Weight
- 15:23Speaker 3: so but regardless of, that he still had unbelievable testing
- 15:28Speaker 3: at the. Combine AND i remember, asking this is now
- 15:31Speaker 3: a different personnel guy from a different, Team, like why
- 15:33Speaker 3: would a guy who tests that well and has that
- 15:37Speaker 3: great size at guard fall into sixth? Round there's his
- 15:40Speaker 3: ape bad and the guy really sat out and just
- 15:43Speaker 3: kind of like doing value of other guards in the
- 15:45Speaker 3: middle round because he couldn't find a negative or a
- 15:48Speaker 3: knock on the. GUY i, mean he's only been a
- 15:50Speaker 3: starter for a, year, Right, ordinarily when you draft a
- 15:53Speaker 3: kid you like at least, two preferably three or four
- 15:56Speaker 3: years of. Tate but that's why some guys who are
- 16:00Speaker 3: centaur do, it or you don't have to make of
- 16:02Speaker 3: them fall that that down in the.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Draft all, Right so interior offensive, line they got a,
- 16:07Speaker 1: tackle they got a, guard they went tight, end they
- 16:10Speaker 1: got a kind of a gadget. Player they got a wide.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Receiver another area they need, it they go. Safety Texas
- 16:16Speaker 1: Tech cole was Now, ski who basically was all over
- 16:21Speaker 1: the place For Texas tech last.
- 16:23Speaker 3: Season, yeah a guy who started his career off At
- 16:28Speaker 3: North Dakota. State North Dakota, state so he's probably teammates
- 16:32Speaker 3: Of Cole payton at one. Point andrew to check over
- 16:35Speaker 3: a really good story On wazeuski, today caught up with
- 16:37Speaker 3: the position, coach The dbacks coach At Texas tech to
- 16:42Speaker 3: ask About, wazouski and the guy had glowing things to
- 16:45Speaker 3: say about some of the missed perceptions because he's. Big
- 16:50Speaker 3: this is again not a Typical eagles pick Because Vic,
- 16:53Speaker 3: fangio as we've, seen likes his safeties to look more like. Nickelback's.
- 16:57Speaker 3: Right some guys who have versatility and cover and can
- 17:00Speaker 3: play all. Around this guy is six foot three to
- 17:03Speaker 3: seventeen to eighty something like big, dude and usually the
- 17:08Speaker 3: big dudes are Stiffer hipton are not coverage. Dudes but,
- 17:10Speaker 3: again he's a seventh round, pick so he's really gonna
- 17:13Speaker 3: cut his teeth on special.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Teams was gonna, say if you're bringing in a seventh round,
- 17:16Speaker 1: pick you're not looking for him to Overtake Marcus.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Epps, no but you, want Well Marcus, epps you would
- 17:22Speaker 3: Ideally Marc STEP's is your third. SAFETY i, MEAN i
- 17:25Speaker 3: know right now he looks like you're starting, safety but
- 17:27Speaker 3: you've heard how he. Talks he's certainly going to bring in.
- 17:30Speaker 3: PLAYERS i Think, Marcus, uh who's the nickelback that they
- 17:35Speaker 3: brought him from The. Jets why CAN'T i think of his? Name,
- 17:37Speaker 3: uh you're talking About Michael. Carter Michael carter will get
- 17:43Speaker 3: some rep there and get a chance to prove himself
- 17:47Speaker 3: in the end of the. DAY i think he's really a.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Nickelback but we'll. SEE i THINK i know how he's
- 17:52Speaker 3: going to bring in somebody, else because you would love
- 17:54Speaker 3: your seventh rout pick to be a third or four.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Safety was. Undrafted, Yeah now it's funny to hear how
- 18:02Speaker 3: he sort of make a red blanketship reference and then
- 18:07Speaker 3: like really walk it back really fast because he realized
- 18:10Speaker 3: how unfair that wants To cole Was. NOOSKY i don't
- 18:13Speaker 3: know If, mike if you heard him in the press conference,
- 18:15Speaker 3: there he did start talking about reading what they, accomplished
- 18:17Speaker 3: and then he's, like whoa not That i'm Saying cole
- 18:20Speaker 3: Was zuski is read blanket. Ship, yeah but, yeah but
- 18:24Speaker 3: a guy like, that if he really performs on special,
- 18:27Speaker 3: teams he's got a chance to knock not just, that
- 18:30Speaker 3: but you, know maybe like A Marcus i'm, Sorry Andre
- 18:32Speaker 3: sam out there.
- 18:34Speaker 4: And be your force.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Safety if he can, that that would Be that's that's
- 18:37Speaker 3: the floor right. Now i'm, sorry the ceiling right. Now
- 18:41Speaker 3: in year one For cole Was, newsky if he has
- 18:43Speaker 3: to start, yikes.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Yeah all, right this one, OBVIOUSLY i don't know that
- 18:48Speaker 1: you're you're gonna give me much other than what you've,
- 18:50Speaker 1: heard because no one's ever seen you Are, bernard he's
- 18:55Speaker 1: part of The International pathway, program has basically no.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Tape he is just a.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Freak, athlete from what we, understand is one of the
- 19:06Speaker 1: most unprecedented athletic performances ever recorded at THE Hbcu. Combine.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Uh he is six four and a half and three hundred.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Pounds this is similar To Jordani, alatta where it's what
- 19:20Speaker 1: position are they going to look at him?
- 19:22Speaker 3: At, well they're going to defensive, tackle.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Which is funny BECAUSE i always, wondered how come The
- 19:28Speaker 1: eagles didn't look at My lotta as a Defense now
- 19:31Speaker 1: he obviously he's turned into a really good left, tackle
- 19:33Speaker 1: BUT i always, said to, myself who's blocking that?
- 19:36Speaker 2: GUY i mean My. Lotta to, ME i was, like
- 19:39Speaker 2: if you put him a defensive, tackle he just would
- 19:41Speaker 2: be so.
- 19:41Speaker 3: Disruptive but he's he's six, six he was three fifty
- 19:46Speaker 3: when they signed.
- 19:47Speaker 4: HIM i think that he's even too big FOR d.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Tackle like you want to as A d, tackle you
- 19:52Speaker 3: gotta get off. BLOCKED i think it's. Easier this was so,
- 19:55Speaker 3: Explosive like you, know he, SAID i, KNOW i get
- 19:58Speaker 3: what you're, saying But i'm AND i am not trying
- 20:00Speaker 3: to minish how hard it's to be an offensive. Lineman
- 20:03Speaker 3: do you think it's SO i think it's a little bit.
- 20:05Speaker 3: MORE i don't want.
- 20:06Speaker 4: To, say you, know it's very.
- 20:07Speaker 3: EASY i think if you're going to teach a guy
- 20:09Speaker 3: who's never played how to go forward and block and
- 20:13Speaker 3: sort of take steps back and block as opposed to gap,
- 20:18Speaker 3: integrity which is like a lot of mental stuff, Too
- 20:21Speaker 3: and not THAT i just think it might be a
- 20:23Speaker 3: little bit more of a natural because remember he was
- 20:27Speaker 3: a rugby players used to running with the, ball going
- 20:29Speaker 3: forward offensive. MENTALITY i would imagine that's. Why but, anyway, WELL. U.
- 20:33Speaker 2: R bernard is three pounds a four to six.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Forty it's the fastest thirty fastest forty yard desk by
- 20:41Speaker 1: a three hundred pounder. Ever this vertical jump thirty nine,
- 20:44Speaker 1: inches it's the highest ever recorded for someone three hundred.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Pounds his broad jump is ten to.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Ten it's the longest ever recorded by a three hundred,
- 20:53Speaker 1: pounder and it's over a foot longer than any defensive
- 20:56Speaker 1: tackle at the combine this year.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Between stours is forty five and a half inch vertical
- 21:03Speaker 3: And Ould payton running a four to five at two
- 21:05Speaker 3: hundred and thirty seven, pounds and the kids From georgia
- 21:09Speaker 3: to like broad jump something that was, insane and now
- 21:12Speaker 3: this guy who might be the best athlete of all of,
- 21:14Speaker 3: them just shows you how much of The eagles value athletic,
- 21:17Speaker 3: testing and we talk about that all the. Time it's
- 21:20Speaker 3: not first and foremost, though because obviously mckaye lemon was
- 21:23Speaker 3: really just average athletically for AN nfl wide, receiver not
- 21:28Speaker 3: for you and, me but for AN nfl wide. Receiver
- 21:30Speaker 3: he's nothing really special. Athletically but, yeah Clearly day two
- 21:34Speaker 3: And day three for The. Eagles, Now, mike you will
- 21:36Speaker 3: not believe. THIS i did An eagles only seven round
- 21:39Speaker 3: mock draft the day before the. Draft it's, well only
- 21:41Speaker 3: ONE i ever. DID i don't do like five or
- 21:43Speaker 3: six of them. Right the only ONE i got right Was.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Uarbernauf so how did you know about? Him?
- 21:51Speaker 3: WELL i knew about. Him it was kind of. No
- 21:54Speaker 3: andrew And cecho wrote a really good story right after
- 21:57Speaker 3: THE Ipp Pro, day which is The Internet National Pathway,
- 22:01Speaker 3: program the same thing that My alta went. Through and
- 22:04Speaker 3: those two, guys obviously with those testings that you just,
- 22:06Speaker 3: ready they put themselves on the map pretty. Quickly. There
- 22:10Speaker 3: the other guy, too that the yougals are going to
- 22:11Speaker 3: Sign Joshua, WARU i think is how you put out
- 22:14Speaker 3: that A. Kenya but either, way once those two guys
- 22:16Speaker 3: did that stuff at THE I p. P. Combine they
- 22:19Speaker 3: were the cat was out of the, bag So andrew
- 22:21Speaker 3: wrote about. Them they were kind of known for being
- 22:24Speaker 3: these unbeieva. Lastetes she just has never played, football SO
- 22:28Speaker 3: i wrote in my, mantraft because The eagles had in,
- 22:30Speaker 3: MIND i don't think The eagles had a seventh round,
- 22:32Speaker 3: pick SO i, said they'll take this, guy but they're
- 22:34Speaker 3: much more likely to trade into the seventh round to get.
- 22:36Speaker 3: Them and flow and, BEHOLD i really nailed, that AND
- 22:39Speaker 3: i din't getting anything else, right BUT i got all
- 22:41Speaker 3: right the interest.
- 22:42Speaker 4: Here here's the interesting.
- 22:43Speaker 3: Thing about, Him mike is that he has never played
- 22:48Speaker 3: a snap of. Football he was a basketball, Player he
- 22:52Speaker 3: was a soccer. Player AND i think the big thing
- 22:55Speaker 3: you have to worry not worry about you have to
- 22:57Speaker 3: watch with, him along with just the don and learning
- 23:00Speaker 3: the game Like malta, did was. INJURIES i, mean this
- 23:03Speaker 3: guy has never been hit in his life the way
- 23:06Speaker 3: you get hit and forgetting and like he wasn't hit
- 23:10Speaker 3: continuously in pop, order he wasn't hit continuously in high,
- 23:13Speaker 3: school in middle, school like most people who Play american
- 23:16Speaker 3: football don't just start playing it in THE, nfl of,
- 23:19Speaker 3: course and my a lot you could say we're playing.
- 23:21Speaker 3: RUGBY i mean they don't, hit but they, hit you
- 23:23Speaker 3: know What i'm. Saying they, tackle you get that sort
- 23:26Speaker 3: of body. PUNISHMENT i don't know how this guy's athleticism
- 23:30Speaker 3: and body will respond when his first hits are gonna
- 23:33Speaker 3: be IN nfl training camp practices where they're. Brutal so
- 23:38Speaker 3: we're gonna learn a lot about this ship pretty. Early.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Man that's gonna be. Fun keep an eye on. There
- 23:43Speaker 2: Keishawn James newbie is At Edge.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Rusher he has been all over the, place three schools six.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Years Montana, Tech, Idaho New, mexico no football powerhouses coming from.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Here you, know last year they drafted the guy who
- 23:57Speaker 1: led the country in sacks From Virginia. Tech he didn't make,
- 24:00Speaker 1: It SO i don't know. THAT i Think Keyshawn James
- 24:02Speaker 1: newby will make. It but is there something that stands
- 24:05Speaker 1: out about?
- 24:05Speaker 2: Him?
- 24:07Speaker 3: Uh you know you have those really like the smart
- 24:09Speaker 3: asses who am just happen to know every single like
