- MARK HAYES (00:01.961) Hello again, ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to another exciting edition of Two Men in Black and White, an honest conversation. And we are going to get real with it today. We're going to be real honest. We are both annoyed that six service members have lost their lives. And yet the president has still not told anyone why those men and women had to be put in harm's way. This is absolutely ridiculous. It's totally wag the dog. It's disgusting. But here on Two Men in Black and White, an honest conversation. We're going to talk about some of the other angles, some of the other bullshit that makes this Trump regime so dangerous. The world over. Brock and Ellis is here with us from the beautiful confines of the Upper Hudson River Valley. Don't forget to like and subscribe, Two Men in Black and White, on all your platforms where you can find your favorite podcast, including Apple, YouTube, and... of course Spotify. All right Brock let's get into it man 6 6 US servicemen slash women killed this weekend for what for what BROCK GANELES (01:17.166) I'm still searching for the US interest in this entire bombing. I'm still trying to find where the angle is. And I think Trump is also trying to find the reason, right? Or the reason that he can sell to America because he's not addressed the American people yet. He's barely responded to any questions. MARK HAYES (01:24.031) We'll find it. BROCK GANELES (01:46.07) Right. And when he does, he's veered off in bizarre directions. He has not really answered the question in a viable, in a viable manner. So. I mean, it's, have a laundry list of issues, right? Not only six people died, but like, there's at least another 20, like severely injured, which like. In military terms means like, you know, not yeah. Near death. Right. So that, that counts probably likely to go up. I just. MARK HAYES (02:08.52) near death. BROCK GANELES (02:16.61) The only winners here are Israel and maybe Saudi Arabia. Although the Saudis don't, their defenses didn't seem to be ready for it because a bunch of their refineries got hit, but apparently they were, you know, yeah, they were pushing, you know, mean, Iran's their enemy. like, sure, they're, they're happy to have hundreds of billions of dollars worth of U.S. military arsenal. MARK HAYES (02:20.189) Yes. MARK HAYES (02:26.974) Right. MARK HAYES (02:32.127) They'll be fine. They'll be fine. MARK HAYES (02:45.659) Right. Wasted. BROCK GANELES (02:45.944) you know, bombing Iran. It's capabilities they don't have, don't want to have to spend on. So they got us to do all that work. So the interesting thing today is Trump's saying we could be three to four weeks of bombing if the ammunition holds up. Three to four weeks, which is, how can you say you're not at war when you're MARK HAYES (02:49.875) Right. MARK HAYES (03:04.251) and military leaders. BROCK GANELES (03:14.594) bombing for three to four weeks. So the semantics don't seem to work, but three to four weeks of this, means more, more injuries, more deaths. MARK HAYES (03:23.497) Brockett means more death and it means basically Trump is telling his base supporters that he's full of shit. He told his base no more wars, right? He said, we're not going to war anymore. But he also said servicemen and women were suckers and losers. So he sees them, you know, as, you know, basically pawns, right? Of his demented worldview Which is absolutely disgusting. These are people's sons daughters brothers aunts uncles Right the ripple effect of each and every death each and every injury Brock imagine how severe these injuries could be I my neighbor In Georgia is An absolutely amazing family and her son was special forces. And as a matter of fact, he had, there's a Hollywood actor who builds homes for severely injured servicemen and women. He lost both his legs from, you know, they hit an IED in their Humvee, lost both his legs. His mother shared with me the pictures. It was, it was horrendous. She was trying to get to him. I'll never forget it. She couldn't get to him because there were all the, all this bureaucratic red tape. She was trying to get over, to the base in Germany where they were bringing him back from Afghanistan and she couldn't get there. The waiting was just wearing her out. could like, you could see it in her and people like Donald Trump who don't understand the impact of war. and don't understand the kinds of injuries that are sustained. Okay, you're not getting nicked running around the corner by some idiot with a 40 caliber pistol. Okay, they're shooting 50 caliber bullets the size of pencils, the thickness of candy bars. This is huge ammunition that's being fired at you. Don't think that... MARK HAYES (05:48.755) you know, the Iranians over there shooting slingshots. This has no clue. BROCK GANELES (05:51.694) Yeah, well, it's also, yeah, it's bombings, right? So like, it's also, you know, the bases got hit. yeah, the severe, and of course we don't treat our military personnel well when they come home, so the treatment won't be there. lack of empathy, Trump can't even address the deaths or the injuries in any way that he can't connect to it. He just doesn't care. He doesn't have that. MARK HAYES (05:59.455) Right. MARK HAYES (06:05.683) with any respect. BROCK GANELES (06:20.756) He's so selfish that they're they're expendables. I think the suckers and losers extends beyond just the military right to the American people like were the were the suckers and losers. Right. Because you see the polling on this and it's like somewhere between 20 and 30 percent of Americans quote agree with the decision to bomb Iran, which leaves 70 to 80 percent who don't which leave which is pretty much at least. MARK HAYES (06:32.787) Yeah. MARK HAYES (06:45.129) Right. BROCK GANELES (06:46.914) you know, maybe a third to half of MAGA doesn't even want to be involved with this. Cause like you said, they were sold in America first and staying out of foreign entanglements. So maybe they've been quote played again, although they don't care. Their racism outweighs anything that anything else that could even fill their head. but there's no, there's no play here that, that works to American interests. Now we also are going to have the Strait of Hormuz's shut down. MARK HAYES (06:55.602) Right. BROCK GANELES (07:16.078) So oil prices are spiking, right? I think it was like $7 on a barrel of oil first thing this morning, but it'll go up more as long as these ships can't, tankers can't get in and out of that straightway, right? So affordability for Americans goes up, right? Yeah, just got worse again, right? Trump was, wasn't it just the state of the union was talking about dollar and 70 a gallon gas, which was already bullshit. Well now we're. MARK HAYES (07:17.78) going up. MARK HAYES (07:32.807) It's got worse. Yep, just got worse. MARK HAYES (07:44.242) still haven't found it. BROCK GANELES (07:45.58) Yeah, now we're going to be back over three bucks again and all the people that are already hurting are going to feel it at, you know, maybe first at the gas pump. Like that's the only way that these wars we go into affect most people is when it affects them economically. Cause other than that, we just watch them on TV. But this is even a bad TV show, right? Trump's terrible, Hegseth's terrible. No one can explain. MARK HAYES (08:00.819) Right. MARK HAYES (08:04.425) Right. BROCK GANELES (08:13.418) exactly why we're doing this. There's photos of Jared hanging out with the Saudis, right? Probably yucking it up because, he's getting paid so that we'll use our military on their behalf. And then, you know, the final piece of the puzzle to me is, is Israel. And I feel not only did they bamboo, you know, they, just played Trump as we spoke about two days ago. I feel like MARK HAYES (08:39.849) Sure, sure. BROCK GANELES (08:42.998) support for Israel has plummeted. I think we've lost an entire generation of Americans that support Israel. Yeah, I think we've lost it. Look, we're over 50. Our generation was trained, right? Pro Israel, pro Israel. I'm Jewish. Easy for me to be pro Israel, right? But I think the younger generation, anyone under 30, they don't buy it. They don't understand why. MARK HAYES (08:53.629) No doubt. No doubt. BROCK GANELES (09:12.312) They don't even, they don't understand why Israel is such a great ally. They don't see it. Bombing Gaza, war crimes in Gaza. Netanyahu has destroyed Israeli support in America. And I don't see how they're gonna get it back. MARK HAYES (09:15.135) They don't get it. MARK HAYES (09:26.811) Right. Right. Let me ask you this. Get your thoughts on this because I know you have some. Did Trump betray the base by issuing these strikes on Iran? Because look, we all know we wanted to see the Epstein files. We all know last week, I mean, it was hot and heavy. Heat was on his ass. Right? We had those allegations come out about the 13 year old girl who he had hit. Allegedly in these allegations the 302 forms were missing. They've still got to be in those FBI files somewhere unless, you know, Patel or Bondi, Pammy Jo, you know, had him destroyed. But we know there were 12 interviews of a 13 year old woman that he allegedly sexually assaulted and beat up, slapped around. And all of sudden now we got airstrikes on Iran. We've lost six members of our service gap and more, as you mentioned, with the devastating injuries. So did he betray the base just to keep the Epstein files from bubbling over and boiling over into our ecosystem? BROCK GANELES (10:49.272) He definitely betrayed the base because he sold them on America first. And the definition of America first was us being more isolationist and being more quote self-interested and less engaged with the world. That's why we had to pull all that money out of USAID. Like, what are we so involved with everywhere else? You know, we should just be spending our money here. American people is all that matters. Let's, you know, stay out of foreign entanglements. So he betrayed the base on that. That was a lie. I mean, he's MARK HAYES (10:54.399) Mm-hmm. MARK HAYES (11:03.135) I'm going to to work. BROCK GANELES (11:18.71) He's had like, he's bombed seven countries in one year, right? Yemen, Venezuela, Iran twice. Okay. I can't remember who some of the others have been, but you know, okay. So yes, he, but there's two angles of the Epstein files on this. feel like it's, it's consensus thinking in MAGA world that they now believe that the Israeli government has MARK HAYES (11:21.437) Right. MARK HAYES (11:30.195) Right. BROCK GANELES (11:47.52) Something that they're holding over Trump and they're basically blackmailing him to act on their behalf So I feel like that's become mainstream thinking Could be true. Hey these and get those QAnon people going right like they're always serious here So that conspiracy theory is totally bubbled up to the the top and it makes sense because we do know from Israeli agents or ex-israeli agents that they had video cameras in Epstein's apartment and if they did there's a lot of video of Trump MARK HAYES (12:00.538) god, yes. BROCK GANELES (12:16.076) Right. Cause you know, spent and Lutnick spent a lot of time hanging out there. so you have that, that whole aspect of it. And second of all, you then have the fact that just, how do we shift attention? How do we get everyone talking, thinking, focused on something else? And it's worked. It's nice 72 hours worth of nonstop around chatter. And no one has been clamoring for the latest deposition from a 13 year old against Trump. MARK HAYES (12:28.786) Right. MARK HAYES (12:44.241) Right. BROCK GANELES (12:46.446) But yeah, he had been, he, he betrayed the base, but will they go anywhere? Like, where are they going? They're so racist. They're so embedded in their view of America as a white supremacy nation. Like they're not jumping to the, to the left, right? MARK HAYES (12:51.836) Right. Right. MARK HAYES (13:02.463) Yeah. Yeah. It's, it's, it's, pretty, yeah. And, and, know, even when I feel like, you know, a couple of weeks ago, when we started to have an, having the conversation about the MAGA fractures in their coalition and how their grievances were just not hitting like they used to, um, we, we, we, you know, we seem stuck there. The problem is, BROCK GANELES (13:04.558) They're stuck. MARK HAYES (13:30.429) The attention span of the American idiot is so small that we can't stay focused on the fractures. We can't stay focused on the thread coming loose because the 24-hour media cycle just kills it. So now, just like you said, we got the Israel has something over Trump and they're holding it over his head. Social media posts last week. Iran is going to release all this video of Trump if he attacks us. Right? They've got, you know, the PP tapes allegedly. Right? So, you know, we can't stay focused long enough, right, to run this guy out of office before the democracy is totally crumbled. You know, there are still people in Congress who understand what a democracy is and would like to preserve it. But, We had 2500 people storming the Capitol who have no idea what the fuck democracy looks like. On January 6th. BROCK GANELES (14:36.536) Just speaking of the Congress, right? They're going to vote on the War Powers Act, I believe on Wednesday. They're finally coming back to DC. They're going to talk for a few days. I think the vote's going to be Wednesday. Okay. Maybe it's tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure it's not till Wednesday. Okay. Let's say they vote in essence against the president's ability to go to war. Well, we're already five days in, six, five, six days into it by the time they vote and MARK HAYES (14:45.203) Finally. MARK HAYES (15:03.167) I BROCK GANELES (15:05.358) What is their mechanism for implementing any change in our military direction? Like it's just like Supreme Court with the tariffs and then Trump just slaps 15 % tariffs on everyone and works around it. So it's a ceremonial vote because Congress has given up their power as a co-equal branch. So they're going to, I mean, to me, I don't even care. MARK HAYES (15:17.448) Alright. MARK HAYES (15:23.71) Right. MARK HAYES (15:30.611) Seed power. Yeah. Yeah. BROCK GANELES (15:34.818) about their vote on Wednesday. It's, it's moot. I guess I'm interested to see if a few Republicans vote against Trump as a gauge of his power within the MAGA world. Is it slipping? MARK HAYES (15:38.047) Right. MARK HAYES (15:48.497) Right. You know. BROCK GANELES (15:49.826) Other than that, they might as well just be having donuts and coffee in Congress. MARK HAYES (15:56.761) Yeah, really, because they're not doing shit else. Black, can we talk a little bit about an issue that has popped up for me on the Black Information News Network? There was a story that was posted, and I'm going to reach out to the editor and see if we can get her on the show. Very smart, very astute young lady. I'd like to talk to her about a story they posted on the Atlanta Daily World. And that story indicated that one in black men voted for Trump. Now I was told closer to the election, that it was 85 % of African-American men that voted for Kamala. I have a very difficult time understanding how 75 % only voted for Kamala. I am really concerned about this issue because how in the hell? As a black man, do you vote for this? Right? Like you can't see it coming. Like you could not see this. I know, you know, we're on the list to be disappeared. Right? You know, they started with the Latino community. They went over to the Haitian community and now we're seeing African-Americans being stopped on the streets and questioned and asked for their identification. Right? I don't know a lot of folks born and raised in the US with accents from someplace else. So why are you stopping them? MARK HAYES (17:46.087) Why like why are you pulling us over again? So again, we have to go through the driving while black Right. It's never really gone away BROCK GANELES (17:56.78) Yeah, and you're getting stopped by a worse renegade of white racists pulling you over. Even less trained, more rabid. MARK HAYES (18:01.207) Exactly. Exactly. It's white supremacy. Right. More radical and more likely to use deadly force. So, you know, how did you not see this coming? We have to have, like you, well, we've been advocating for the reckoning on race once Trump is gone. But we have finally got to get to the point where African Americans are no longer just hanging on. The most frustrating thing about my career, as a black man, was wondering if I'm going to be renewed at the end of my contract, television contracts, three, five years at the most. But they don't mean shit for you. They're all written for the companies. advantage. Doesn't help you at all. you know, so many of my friends in the business, that was a friend of mine I was talking to just before we got on the air, who was also in the television industry, who, you know, is frustrated. Right, I just got laid off in corporate America, working for one of the Fortune 500s in Atlanta, you know, last hired first fired, six figure gig. Right? He's got his kid, family, mortgage, right? Travel sports, right? All of a sudden, no income. All right? I'm tired of living that way. Right? I want to live according to, you know, the ability that I've earned. Like, I got my degree. Right? I got my experience. You told me you couldn't hire me until I got some experience. All right, well I went out and got some experience. Now that I have the experience, you're telling me I'm not the right fit. Now that I'm not the right fit, I gotta go. Or, now I'm the right fit for the moment and we might have to hire another African American male so both of you cannot stay. I've heard that too. You know? I went to a, I got a position where the ratings. MARK HAYES (20:22.301) decided that I wasn't good enough. You know, so that community did not particularly want to see an African American man when they woke up first thing in the morning. So I had to go. Couldn't have been any of the other four people on the show. It had to be me, right? I was the one that had to go. So, you know, you just get frustrated and then you see headlines like this one I saw today and it really just irked me. BROCK GANELES (20:37.118) Not the weather again. MARK HAYES (20:50.643) You know, as I talk to black men and my contemporaries around the country, we're afraid for our sons, right? Like how are they gonna survive, much less thrive? BROCK GANELES (21:02.635) Mark, we got a question in the chat in terms of the vote. Did they break it down? Was there an age breakdown? Was it younger or older black men? Or did you not see that level of detail? Yeah, we'll have to get around here talk about that, whether there's also like a, whether age has a factor. MARK HAYES (21:13.405) No, they didn't. Yeah, we didn't see that. MARK HAYES (21:22.791) Right. And you know, and that's been the issue about this, right? Because young men, you know, seemed to be falling prey to Trump's, you know, message. Those of us with a little bit of seasoning who've been around for a while or who grew up in Metro New York as we did, right? And heard him talk about how hot his daughter was and he'd probably be dating her and, you know, he'd like to do this or that with her. BROCK GANELES (21:36.683) Yeah. MARK HAYES (21:52.733) You we're disgusted by the guy. Guy who couldn't make money at a casino where people give you money and expect absolutely nothing in return. BROCK GANELES (21:59.757) Yeah, and he wanted the Central Park Five executed before he went to trial. Yeah, he didn't even care. Evidence and all that shit, no, they found five black guys, here we go. String them up. Full page ad in the Times. MARK HAYES (22:02.495) Yeah, execute it for a crime they MARK HAYES (22:08.647) Yeah. Yep. Yep. and as disgusting as that was, it's even more disgusting if you watch the documentary. Matter of fact, one of them is a city councilman now, one of these, these Central Park Five. Yeah, and then we, one of the others just moved back to New York to run for office. He was living here in Metro Atlanta. So, you know, you can't imagine the hell that they went through. BROCK GANELES (22:28.267) Yeah, yeah, thank you very well. MARK HAYES (22:44.541) being accused of that crime. And the media went right along with it because the media helped it happen. BROCK GANELES (22:52.939) Let me jump in a second. Maybe this is a bad time for the white guy in the discussion to bring up the fact that I really hope. the black turnout in the vote in the Texas primary tomorrow is over the top, huge. Because if it isn't Jasmine Crockett's going to lose because the polling is showing that 75 or 80 percent, looks like early voters poll white people voted for Telerica. MARK HAYES (23:11.453) Huge. Huge. MARK HAYES (23:17.724) Right. MARK HAYES (23:24.799) Thank MARK HAYES (23:30.205) Right. BROCK GANELES (23:31.255) So talk about identity politics, Like white people voted for Taurico, right? The state senator against the incumbent congressperson, just from the hierarchy of their jobs would in a typical, if they were just right candidate A and candidate B, people would go with the candidate A who's been in the Congress, not someone from the state level. Yeah. MARK HAYES (23:33.576) Right. MARK HAYES (23:48.124) Right. MARK HAYES (23:51.641) Right. legislature, BROCK GANELES (23:55.287) state legislatures, it's not the way it usually works. You go with the name recognition, right? so experience, you've had the job. mean, and, and, and, no doubt has done a good job, right? I mean, certainly on the dem, if you're a Democrat, you're like, wow, look, she's broken through and become a real voice of the party, right? You want to, you want to lose her. So I'm really worried about MARK HAYES (24:01.055) And you go with the person who understands how the system works. MARK HAYES (24:10.943) Absolutely. MARK HAYES (24:18.751) Right. BROCK GANELES (24:23.197) I'm really worried about the primary tomorrow. I'm worried about being disappointed by the Democratic Party. I'm worried about the fact that race drives voting behavior, like the racism is everywhere, and even talented, very talented, incumbent black congresspeople. MARK HAYES (24:31.431) That part. That part. BROCK GANELES (24:52.587) you know, are pushed down when they're trying to step forward, right? They're trying to move up the ladder. Now it's women, it's misogynistic also, right? Cause men are voting for Taurigo in early polls, right? This could all end up not being bullshit. But my other problem is like, Texas is a microcosm of the, of the country right now. Tomorrow's primary because you got the black woman against the white religious white guy. MARK HAYES (24:53.307) Keep walking. MARK HAYES (25:04.627) Right. MARK HAYES (25:13.373) Thank you, Right. MARK HAYES (25:19.922) Right. BROCK GANELES (25:19.945) on the Democratic side. So we got to see where the Democrats stand. Where's the where's our party? Even though we're in a what I consider to be a racist state. Yeah, that's my Northeastern liberal elite bullshit coming through. But on the Republican side of the ledger, you have a traditional Republican, a Bush Republican of Cornyn, who's been there forever. Probably too old and should be moving on. But that's not why he might lose tomorrow. He might lose because he's not. MARK HAYES (25:32.829) guy. BROCK GANELES (25:49.301) Trumpy enough. So Kim Jackson, who's been indicted, who they all know is one of the most corrupt people in the state of Texas, might win that primary on the Republican side. So that shows you where MAGA is still voting for the radicals and not caring, having no moral center and no standards for the integrity of their candidates. And on the Democratic side, we have what in essence is MARK HAYES (25:50.303) Trump in your hip. MARK HAYES (26:04.233) They're all public criminals. MARK HAYES (26:13.609) Right. BROCK GANELES (26:18.899) I think it's like a referendum on race tomorrow in Texas. MARK HAYES (26:22.965) absolutely. Absolutely. But Jasmine Crockett knows if the black community turns out for her, she will win this thing easily. We have four million voting age African Americans in Texas. Okay. I'm so disappointed in the Democratic Party by putting these two young and future stars up against each other because the party did this. Right. This was not know, this was not Jasmine and Tallarico's decision, right? Because if the party was an honest broker, they would have said, hey, Tallarico, why don't you run for Jasmine's position and keep two stars in the mix. BROCK GANELES (27:11.435) I think Beto O'Rourke tried to engineer that until Rico went against it. That's the story I heard a couple of days ago. And Castro wanted it as well. And Colin Allred stepped away, stepped out of the race. Yeah, I'm just aggravated about the whole thing. I'm aggravated in advance about what I'm worried the outcome's going to be and what it tells me about the party and it's how the electability issue. And when I see MARK HAYES (27:16.185) Ugh. Right. And I read that as well. MARK HAYES (27:26.195) for their purpose. MARK HAYES (27:33.949) Yep. MARK HAYES (27:37.63) Yep. BROCK GANELES (27:38.635) pundits like Carville and I see even so like Rick Wilson today and I just see the casual racism that comes from their commentary and how just the terms like electability and how they like MARK HAYES (27:41.715) Yeah. MARK HAYES (27:52.72) Mask it. BROCK GANELES (27:52.905) it's almost like how you have to like quote, play for the black vote. Like not do anything for black people, but play for the vote. Right? Carville talked about, if you can get them swaying and singing in the church, you'll get their vote. Right? Like that, that was his view of what a candidate needed to be able to do to get the black vote. like, it's this kind of, I'm a white guy. I'm a white guy. I'm a, no, Carville. I'm a, but, but Wilson was more like, MARK HAYES (28:00.179) play for. Yep. MARK HAYES (28:13.855) Did you see how wasted that said- BROCK GANELES (28:21.963) Just the conversation amongst white people using the term electability and talking about the electorate and just assuming things. It's just assuming the behavior without calling it out. Just. MARK HAYES (28:26.655) Right. BROCK GANELES (28:41.439) kind of supports and rolls the behavioral law. you know, so I mean, Wilson said that Talarico is a Barack Obama like talent. And I'm like, come on with that. Come on with that. Crockett is closer to an Obama like talent. If we're going to talk about communication skills, right? He's dynamic. MARK HAYES (28:47.379) Cut! MARK HAYES (28:52.605) that would pass. Yeah, with his his Christian ideology. MARK HAYES (29:04.397) Exactly. In oratory skills, absolutely. BROCK GANELES (29:07.725) So it's just bothering me. I'm really worried about it. But I just feel like Texas between the Paxson Cornyn showdown and the Crocodile Rico showdown is very telling about where both parties are, who can get the support and ultimately where the voters are and who comes out to vote. Turnouts supposedly big, particularly on the Democratic side where it's like 20, 25 % higher than on the on the MAGA side headed into the actual Election Day. MARK HAYES (29:38.587) Right. Brock, do you understand my frustration when a fossil like James Carville comes out and says if you can get them swinging and swaying in the church. That sounds like something out of the 60s, early 70s during the civil rights movement because the church was our base. You have to be much more sophisticated to get our votes now. And this is the thinking of the brass in the party. Right? That's why Jamie, what was Jamie's last? Jamie, the previous DNC head had to go. He was trying to get them to change their thinking at the top of the party. Those so-called decision makers. This is a horrible decision to run this primary. And we haven't talked about this enough, but we're going to talk about it again tomorrow. We'll talk about the issue of electability and how it's basically veiled racism and You know, again, Rick Wilson, love to follow, I follow Rick. I love his takes. Yeah, I like him too. He's a Republican at heart. Yes, he is. And it's hard to change those stripes and those, almost the white male, you know, kind of, I'm able to pontificate whenever I'd like and my opinion is more important than yours. BROCK GANELES (30:42.197) I like him too. But he's a Republican at heart. BROCK GANELES (31:06.613) And it's an embedded view of the world, right? It's always gonna see it through that lens. like, that's not where the leader, but I'm really frustrated in the Democrats losing, in essence losing their, and not figuring out how to help win their extraordinary black female candidates in particular, Stacey Abrams. MARK HAYES (31:07.069) kind of attitude. And it seeps through. Yes, it is. Yes, it is. Yep. MARK HAYES (31:32.35) Right. BROCK GANELES (31:35.787) Val Demings, Kamala Harris, and now we have Jabs and Crockett going down in Texas. Hey, I'm a white guy. I've voted for a lot of white male candidates in my life and been fine to do it, right? And we'll do so again, over many times going forward in my life. But the left, the resistance, MARK HAYES (31:37.417) Yep. MARK HAYES (31:43.646) Right. MARK HAYES (31:53.651) Right. MARK HAYES (31:58.334) Right. BROCK GANELES (32:03.137) the ability to have a unified resistance against MAGA loses when that resistance doesn't have diverse leadership at the top. MARK HAYES (32:08.349) Yeah. MARK HAYES (32:15.391) Yeah, and and we need it. We've got to have it That's the only way the party will survive With the diverse leadership if we don't get more Latino representation more african-american lesson to representation more Asian American legend representation and more women we are going to have we're going to have real problems BROCK GANELES (32:34.879) and more women. There's hardly any, there's hardly any in the Senate. You can name the women in the Senate like on two hands, right? MARK HAYES (32:43.253) yeah! BROCK GANELES (32:49.225) I lost you for a second. Lost your sound. You're muted! BROCK GANELES (32:56.961) There you go. We lost you for a second. MARK HAYES (32:58.527) Yeah, what the hell? Yeah, we've gotta have it, especially the women, because the women have been the one who have been the main fighters for change. Thomas Massey's been wonderful, right? know, Ro Khanna, Adam Schiff, right? Eric Swalwell, Ted Lieu, know, a bunch of men have been out front on some of these issues, but the women. BROCK GANELES (33:12.701) Rokon. Rokon has been great. MARK HAYES (33:25.491) The women have been superstars in the Democratic Party. Right? When we think about, you know, the energy that they have bought to the discussions, right? AOC is not on that tour with Bernie. It doesn't hit the same. It does not hit the same. You want to talk about an Obama-like talent, let's talk about AOC. Right? And the energy she brings. The smarts on her. She's not book smart only. She's common sense and Bronx, New York smart. That's what I love about her, right? She can put it all together. So, you know, we've got to continue to push the party, right? To not look at everything through that white male. you know, perspective that allows them to believe that their opinion must be the correct one because they came up with it, right? That kind of entitlement. BROCK GANELES (34:35.371) Yeah, and they'll fight. They'll fight in different ways for different policies also, right? It's just less likely to be status quo or quote going back to what we had. It'll be like a push forward. So yeah, I'm open. I mean, I'm hoping for that. I'm hopeful. I'm tired of the punditry. I can't I can't even stand here the word electability, but I know it's going to be all over the place in the conversation tomorrow in Texas and. MARK HAYES (34:40.38) Right. Right. BROCK GANELES (35:04.747) You know, I'm prepared to be I'm prepared to be disappointed. MARK HAYES (35:08.827) Right, right. All right, we'll talk more about that tomorrow as we wait for the results to come in. In the meantime, what do you got for me for a quick hit so we can get up out of here? BROCK GANELES (35:19.863) Quick hit. Do you realize that in NASCAR in 2026 that one of the teams has set a record? that had been held or tied a record that had NASCAR record that had been around for 77 years, which is the same driver has won the first three races of the NASCAR season. First time in 77 years. And the owner of that team that has won, set that record, none other than the great Michael Jordan. MARK HAYES (36:02.793) Google me, I win! BROCK GANELES (36:03.213) making it happen in the NASCAR world. And so for those of us who loved basketball in the 90s and on, look at Michael Jordan. Didn't quite do it as an NBA owner, but now emerging as perhaps the most successful owner in all of NASCAR. We didn't have that. MARK HAYES (36:19.241) doing it again. MARK HAYES (36:27.783) and probably making more money. BROCK GANELES (36:29.805) Yeah, making them a difficult finish. Didn't have that on my bingo card in around 1995 or whatever. MARK HAYES (36:33.573) AT ALL! MARK HAYES (36:37.576) Right? Right? When he was playing the single A baseball, riding around on a bus that he had to buy because the other one was terrible. No doubt. No doubt. BROCK GANELES (36:43.435) So. I'm just putting it under that MJ does it again. Most competitive motherfucker in history figured out how to crack the code at NASCAR. Said I'm going to go to the weightiest sport I can find. He plays golf. tried baseball then moved to golf. Now go to NASCAR. Very soon he'll have a curling team next. MARK HAYES (36:55.739) Ugh. MARK HAYES (37:01.565) Right. Right. Yeah, because you know they're not going to let them buy a hockey team. Speaking of hockey, I was highly annoyed with the show Get Up this morning and Greeny, one of my favorite guys on TV, Mike Greenberg, talking about how everybody loves Jack Hughes, got his teeth knocked out in the Olympics. You know, here in the U.S., you've heard me say this before, hockey is cost prohibitive for many people of color because it's so expensive. You know, when we played basketball, Brock, we could go to the gym, play for free. Can't do that with Hock. Stick time is 15 bucks. BROCK GANELES (37:36.109) but outside of the playground even more free, right? Just needed a room. MARK HAYES (37:39.401) Yep, you can do that in Michigan, you know, in the winter time, Michigan, Boston, you know, in the colder climates around the US, but, you know, most places you got to pay to get on the ice. And, you know, people forget that, you know, hockey was invented by runaway slaves who went to Canada and created the game. So there's some great documentaries out on that. So if you want to educate yourself, feel free. BROCK GANELES (38:10.869) I never had no idea that was the case. First I've ever heard of that. MARK HAYES (38:14.653) yeah, Nova Scotia. And there's very little reference to it in the Hockey Hall of Fame. Hmm, that's a surprise. But yeah, that's the story there. Also, my quick hit was that the newly released testimony footage from Hillary Clinton is absolutely classic. You know, they were in way over their heads fooling with the Clintons. Clintons are some smart people. I don't know how Bill thought he could cheat on her and get away with it because Hillary is damn sharp and still sharp as a tack. So if you get a chance to take a look at some of that testimony, she absolutely rips those people with the R next to their name and gives it as good as they tried to to her. So they were not successful. They got an earful from Hillary and basically Hillary just told them off. That's pretty much what happened, but if you get a chance to see it, it is gold BROCK GANELES (39:13.237) I hadn't seen that at mean, she'd been through the Benghazi hearings. mean, she's, this was child's play. This was like, she never even met Epstein, right? She's like, what the fuck am I doing here? Like, I never even met this guy. MARK HAYES (39:16.655) Yeah, I'll play Right, right What idiots No doubt. All right, buddy. That's it for us. I got a run get back to the right side of the world We're gonna continue to follow this Texas story and tomorrow we're gonna be all over folks. So be sure to join us again When we log back on tomorrow BROCK GANELES (39:40.717) All right, one of our viewers did correct Nigeria was another country we bombed. So I was trying to name the seven that gets us, think to five. I'll do some homework on the other two. All right, Mark, always a pleasure. Travel safe. I'll talk to you tomorrow. MARK HAYES (39:45.449) All right. MARK HAYES (39:49.159) Right. Right. MARK HAYES (39:54.651) Alright, peace.
