• 0:22
  SPEAKER_00: Just a while.
• 0:23
SPEAKER_00: Life is just rolling on.
• 0:26
  SPEAKER_00: Rolling.
• 0:27
  SPEAKER_00: Rolling.
• 0:27
SPEAKER_00: So we haven't been in the room together for a while.
• 0:31
  SPEAKER_02: No.
• 0:32
SPEAKER_02: No, but we're knocking it out of the park so far.
• 0:34
  SPEAKER_02: So far.
• 0:34
  SPEAKER_02: We're doing great.
• 0:35
  SPEAKER_02: Just buckle up, people.
• 0:37
  SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be great.
• 0:38
SPEAKER_00: I do have an update for us all.
• 0:40
SPEAKER_00: My license plates have been as of yesterday.
• 0:45
  SPEAKER_00: Maybe that's why we haven't recorded.
• 0:47
SPEAKER_00: We needed to like have a lot of.
• 0:48
SPEAKER_00: My license is not renewed, but my plates have been purchased.
• 0:51
  SPEAKER_00: They're on their way.
• 0:53
  SPEAKER_00: So I'm halfway legal.
• 0:55
  SPEAKER_00: Legal.
• 0:55
  SPEAKER_00: I'm halfway legal again.
• 0:56
  SPEAKER_00: Halfway.
• 0:57
  SPEAKER_00: Yes.
• 0:57
SPEAKER_00: I still might be avoiding cops if I see them on the road.
• 1:00
  SPEAKER_00: Oh well.
• 1:01
  SPEAKER_00: It's fine.
• 1:02
SPEAKER_02: Uh speaking of cops on the road, I Marco poloed um Jesse and Amanda the other day.
• 1:08
SPEAKER_02: And I was like, you know what?
• 1:09
SPEAKER_02: I just realized I, my whole life, no one taught me this.
• 1:12
SPEAKER_02: It's just been in my head.
• 1:13
SPEAKER_02: I've always had this false security that you will not get pulled over in the rain.
• 1:18
  SPEAKER_02: What?
• 1:19
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
• 1:19
SPEAKER_02: Oh, because they don't want to stand out in the rain.
• 1:21
  SPEAKER_02: I assume so.
• 1:21
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
• 1:22
SPEAKER_02: My whole life, I've been like, oh, I can speed in the rain.
• 1:25
SPEAKER_02: Like no one's gonna, no one's gonna pull you over in the rain.
• 1:28
SPEAKER_02: And it was pouring, and I saw someone pulled over, and I was just like, wait, wait, they will pull you over in the rain.
• 1:36
  SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
• 1:38
  SPEAKER_00: If I was a cop, I would not.
• 1:40
SPEAKER_00: Unless breaking speeding is breaking the law, but like guys, rules are rules.
• 1:44
  SPEAKER_01: Really breaking or shine.
• 1:45
SPEAKER_01: I'm not standing in the rain again.
• 1:46
  SPEAKER_01: Me neither.
• 1:47
SPEAKER_02: Unless I saw the car that was like wanted or like I would I would jump in if I needed to.
• 1:52
SPEAKER_01: You can only find out if they're wanted if you pull them over.
• 1:55
SPEAKER_00: Or if I saw it, you know, like be on a lookout for a blue view of plates.
• 1:59
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:59
SPEAKER_00: I will pull you over and trendle down for then.
• 2:01
SPEAKER_02: But if I'm just chilling on the side of the business.
• 2:04
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, go gosh.
• 2:05
  SPEAKER_01: Hilarious.
• 2:06
SPEAKER_01: You just had a world paradigm shift.
• 2:08
  SPEAKER_02: Yes.
• 2:08
SPEAKER_02: So I mean, this has been, this was like a week and a half ago.
• 2:11
SPEAKER_02: And I and this morning I saw a cop.
• 2:13
SPEAKER_02: It was raining after drop-off, and I was like, whoa, slow down.
• 2:16
SPEAKER_02: They will get you in the rain.
• 2:18
  SPEAKER_02: They don't care.
• 2:20
  SPEAKER_03: You are.
• 2:22
SPEAKER_00: You know, I don't know if this is true.
• 2:24
SPEAKER_00: I do think this is true that they have a quota of tickets they have to give out of the city.
• 2:27
SPEAKER_00: I haven't always heard that, but at the end of the month, if it's raining, you maybe need to slow down.
• 2:30
  SPEAKER_00: Maybe first.
• 2:32
  SPEAKER_00: Oh.
• 2:32
SPEAKER_00: Maybe they're like, I'll ask my eyes all month long to pull people over.
• 2:36
SPEAKER_02: We should really say I should text him right now and have an answer by the message.
• 2:42
  SPEAKER_00: True or false.
• 2:42
SPEAKER_00: You have tickets to write.
• 2:44
  SPEAKER_02: Our neighbor's a police officer.
• 2:45
SPEAKER_02: And if oh my god, it's just like when you're in sales.
• 2:48
SPEAKER_02: The month has come and you gotta get your sales up.
• 2:49
  SPEAKER_02: Yes.
• 2:50
SPEAKER_02: I need to ask him.
• 2:52
SPEAKER_02: I'll let you guys know next time.
• 2:54
SPEAKER_02: Ask him about the rain, too.
• 2:55
  unknown: Okay.
• 2:56
  SPEAKER_01: See what he says.
• 2:57
SPEAKER_01: I want to do it right now, but I need to do it.
• 2:58
  SPEAKER_01: No, definitely not.
• 3:00
  SPEAKER_02: No.
• 3:01
  SPEAKER_01: Ice absolutely on that.
• 3:04
  SPEAKER_00: Get home.
• 3:05
  SPEAKER_00: Go fast.
• 3:06
  SPEAKER_00: That's so funny.
• 3:07
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 3:08
SPEAKER_00: Um, so Mother's Day is coming on Sunday.
• 3:12
SPEAKER_01: So we're by this time record.
• 3:14
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
• 3:16
SPEAKER_00: And you guys will have had a wonderful day.
• 3:18
SPEAKER_00: A wonderful day, I'm sure, filled with children.
• 3:21
SPEAKER_00: That people planned for you and you didn't have to plan for yourself.
• 3:25
SPEAKER_00: Uh, can you tell me one thing really fast that you love about being a mom?
• 3:32
  SPEAKER_00: You go first.
• 3:33
  SPEAKER_00: Um, besides my kids.
• 3:35
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like I actually just love being a mom.
• 3:37
  SPEAKER_00: I love being a mom.
• 3:38
SPEAKER_01: I love being a mom of adult kids.
• 3:41
SPEAKER_01: It was always stressful for me as a working mom.
• 3:44
SPEAKER_01: So, like navigating both, it was always so stressful.
• 3:47
SPEAKER_01: And now that they're adults, it's just fun.
• 3:50
  SPEAKER_00: Because you're like now you're friends.
• 3:52
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, now we can be friends, exactly.
• 3:54
  SPEAKER_00: But I don't know.
• 3:54
SPEAKER_01: I was not a mom who was a friend.
• 3:56
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 3:57
  SPEAKER_01: So yes.
• 3:58
  SPEAKER_02: I was the mom.
• 3:58
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 3:59
SPEAKER_02: I am also not a friend to my kids.
• 4:02
  SPEAKER_02: But I I don't know.
• 4:03
SPEAKER_02: I do love talking to them, like hearing their stories and stuff.
• 4:07
SPEAKER_02: It's not like you connect to anybody else that way, like hearing, oh, you were inside of me one time, and now here you're like a person talking to me.
• 4:15
SPEAKER_02: So aside from just like loving them, the first thing I loved about being a mom was seeing both Hayden and I in somebody.
• 4:23
SPEAKER_02: It was just so wild.
• 4:24
  SPEAKER_02: It's like, whoa.
• 4:25
SPEAKER_02: Because we were high school sweethearts.
• 4:26
SPEAKER_02: So I always think about like, we were kids one time, and these people did not exist.
• 4:31
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 4:32
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 4:32
  SPEAKER_02: And now they're alive.
• 4:34
SPEAKER_02: Like now there's a human here that never existed before.
• 4:38
  unknown: What?
• 4:38
  SPEAKER_02: It's so crazy.
• 4:39
  SPEAKER_02: And we're not like, I don't know, grown-ups.
• 4:42
SPEAKER_02: So I'm like, how did we get to just our grown ups?
• 4:45
  SPEAKER_02: You're you're halfway there.
• 4:46
SPEAKER_00: Even though you don't know about things like you have to call your mom who is the real grown-up.
• 4:53
SPEAKER_00: I still have to call my mom who's the real grown-up.
• 4:56
  SPEAKER_02: Isn't it crazy though?
• 4:57
SPEAKER_02: They just give you a person and they're like, oh, did you watch the channel about not shaking a baby?
• 5:01
SPEAKER_01: We left the hospital with Hudson.
• 5:03
SPEAKER_01: I literally was like checking the doors.
• 5:05
SPEAKER_01: Like, I couldn't believe no one was like running after me.
• 5:07
  SPEAKER_01: Like they don't care.
• 5:09
  SPEAKER_01: They say bye.
• 5:10
  SPEAKER_01: Bye.
• 5:11
  SPEAKER_01: Good luck.
• 5:11
SPEAKER_01: Do I look like I know what I'm doing?
• 5:14
  SPEAKER_02: It's harder to adopt a dog.
• 5:16
  SPEAKER_02: I'm not kidding.
• 5:17
  SPEAKER_02: I had a friend.
• 5:19
SPEAKER_02: I had a friend that was denied adopting a rescue dog because it's a good thing.
• 5:22
SPEAKER_02: They combined, they work too many hours combined.
• 5:25
  SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
• 5:26
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's actually awesome.
• 5:28
  SPEAKER_01: What?
• 5:28
  SPEAKER_01: Why?
• 5:29
SPEAKER_01: I mean, we should do this.
• 5:30
SPEAKER_01: Well, we You know what?
• 5:31
SPEAKER_01: You should not have kids.
• 5:32
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but here's the thing.
• 5:33
  SPEAKER_00: What?
• 5:34
SPEAKER_01: You guys we can go.
• 5:35
SPEAKER_01: This could be a whole rant.
• 5:36
SPEAKER_00: This could be a whole rant.
• 5:37
SPEAKER_00: So we're not gonna go there with that.
• 5:40
SPEAKER_00: The government actually can't control how many children you have.
• 5:43
SPEAKER_00: You know, because we have moms who have babies who never take care of those babies and they have 10, 12, 15 children in care somewhere, you know.
• 5:50
SPEAKER_00: And so then you'll have people like, well, they should put them on birth control.
• 5:53
SPEAKER_00: And they but no, because we can't do that.
• 5:55
  SPEAKER_00: That's a scary thing.
• 5:56
  SPEAKER_00: You know, that's a whole thing.
• 5:57
  SPEAKER_00: Yes.
• 5:57
SPEAKER_00: Sometimes they can control what you do.
• 5:59
SPEAKER_00: There are places that force.
• 6:00
SPEAKER_00: Sometimes they can't like yeah.
• 6:01
  SPEAKER_00: It's just crazy.
• 6:02
  SPEAKER_00: But like that's true.
• 6:03
SPEAKER_00: The hospital's not like, I'm sorry, you've had too many.
• 6:06
SPEAKER_00: We you can never come back here.
• 6:07
SPEAKER_01: I don't even think they checked to see if I had a car seat.
• 6:09
SPEAKER_01: Do they do that now?
• 6:10
  SPEAKER_01: They do now.
• 6:11
  SPEAKER_01: They do catch up.
• 6:12
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 6:13
  SPEAKER_00: What about you, Kelly?
• 6:14
SPEAKER_00: What do you love about being a mom?
• 6:15
  SPEAKER_00: I love being a mom.
• 6:16
SPEAKER_00: I don't know what the best thing about probably my adult, I do love having adult children because you don't have to like wor you worry about them in different ways, but you're not making every choice for them.
• 6:25
SPEAKER_00: Well, you're which also is kind of a bad thing because it's easy to be like, put these shoes on, put these things on your hands.
• 6:30
SPEAKER_00: Yes, do what I tell you to do.
• 6:32
  SPEAKER_00: But you're also a grandmother.
• 6:33
SPEAKER_00: So, like, do you think that's even better?
• 6:35
  SPEAKER_00: That's you know why?
• 6:36
  SPEAKER_00: Tell me.
• 6:37
SPEAKER_00: Because I have I don't have to parent Harlow, not one day in her life.
• 6:41
SPEAKER_00: Well, I have to parent her.
• 6:43
SPEAKER_00: She says, I want blah, blah, blah.
• 6:45
SPEAKER_00: I'll be like, fine, here you go.
• 6:48
SPEAKER_00: Not if Jake and Laura really don't want her to have it.
• 6:50
SPEAKER_00: I I can respect wishes, but it's like, I don't have to parent you.
• 6:54
SPEAKER_00: I just get to love you.
• 6:55
SPEAKER_00: And it's like watching your kids grow up again.
• 6:58
  SPEAKER_00: It's fun.
• 6:58
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, you're the best thing on the whole earth.
• 7:02
  SPEAKER_00: Nobody else.
• 7:03
SPEAKER_02: I've heard Dave Ramsey say a couple times.
• 7:05
SPEAKER_02: He says, if I would have known how awesome grandbabies were, I would have been nicer to their parents.
• 7:10
SPEAKER_00: It's the reward for not killing your children.
• 7:14
  SPEAKER_00: That's funny.
• 7:15
  SPEAKER_00: That is true.
• 7:16
SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I've I always wanted to be a mom, and I but speaking of like what we were just saying, so like Harlow is only here because of you and Pastor Jamie.
• 7:24
  SPEAKER_01: True.
• 7:24
SPEAKER_01: And my mom and never existed.
• 7:27
  SPEAKER_01: She never existed.
• 7:29
  SPEAKER_01: I know.
• 7:30
  SPEAKER_01: So crazy.
• 7:31
SPEAKER_00: It's the goodness of the Lord blessing our future generations.
• 7:36
SPEAKER_00: Um, so we're gonna talk about something today that I've we were all at Krigma Summit for this last weekend, which is our favorite conference of the whole year.
• 7:46
SPEAKER_00: We look forward to it every year.
• 7:47
SPEAKER_00: It's always so good for all of us as staff to be able to go and like learn.
• 7:51
SPEAKER_00: And we all learn and hear different things the whole time.
• 7:54
SPEAKER_00: But um, and then I my one of my favorite parts is like processing everything that we heard, which yeah takes.
• 8:00
SPEAKER_00: This year seemed a little less processing, but maybe, maybe because we're getting smarter and we're gonna be able to do that.
• 8:04
  SPEAKER_01: That's what Alex went.
• 8:06
SPEAKER_01: Alexa was like, you know what?
• 8:07
SPEAKER_01: I realized it wasn't over my head.
• 8:09
SPEAKER_01: Like last year I just felt like, wait, what?
• 8:12
SPEAKER_01: And this year she's like, I'm understanding everything.
• 8:14
SPEAKER_00: So this is my third time.
• 8:17
SPEAKER_00: The first year I was like, these people are speaking a foreign language, I don't know what they're saying to me.
• 8:22
SPEAKER_00: Last year I felt a little better, and then this year I was like, I'm waiting for something like for profound to like blow my mind.
• 8:28
SPEAKER_00: And there still is, but like it wasn't information from like it was just the spirit of the Lord this year.
• 8:34
SPEAKER_00: Yes, the way it came across.
• 8:36
SPEAKER_00: Anyway, so this is probably something that we've heard a lot of times, maybe.
• 8:40
SPEAKER_00: I uh you know what?
• 8:41
SPEAKER_00: I always hate when people say that when they're like when a pastor's like, oh, this is a passage we've all known.
• 8:46
  SPEAKER_00: No, maybe not.
• 8:47
SPEAKER_00: So maybe no one has heard this before.
• 8:48
  SPEAKER_00: Someone in the room.
• 8:49
SPEAKER_00: Okay, so this is where in Romans 8, and really you can read much more, but I'm gonna specifically Romans 8, verse 11.
• 8:59
SPEAKER_00: And it says, The Spirit of God who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you.
• 9:04
SPEAKER_00: And just as God raised Jesus Christ from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by the same spirit living within you.
• 9:12
SPEAKER_00: Okay, now that alone, I mean, it's profound, but it's like not profound.
• 9:17
SPEAKER_00: So this is where I feel like I've just been like dwelling on this scripture for the last few days.
• 9:23
SPEAKER_00: And I think uh this it pertains to moms, but this pertains to anyone who follows the Lord that we forget that the Spirit of God, now that we are followers of Christ, lives literally inside of us, and what that means that we now have like access to.
• 9:45
SPEAKER_00: So I feel like we have a lot of it was good for me.
• 9:48
SPEAKER_00: It was like you said, it was uh what did you say in your text message to us?
• 9:52
SPEAKER_00: I said you always said the right words, Jodi Miller.
• 9:54
  SPEAKER_01: I felt like I had a tuna, a tuna, yes, recalibrated.
• 9:58
  SPEAKER_01: Yes, a little offline.
• 10:00
SPEAKER_01: You actually know what that means.
• 10:01
  SPEAKER_01: I do recalibrated.
• 10:03
  SPEAKER_01: Recalibrated.
• 10:04
SPEAKER_01: It just means like you're kind of a little bit out of sync, so you gotta like if you're all of your four tire cars shake.
• 10:10
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so then like I mean, they kind of like recalibrate your tires.
• 10:13
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, you're back in a line.
• 10:15
SPEAKER_01: Yes, you're back in alignment.
• 10:16
SPEAKER_01: Oh that's what that means, huh?
• 10:18
  SPEAKER_01: That's what it means.
• 10:19
SPEAKER_01: They they do that to your vehicles.
• 10:21
SPEAKER_00: So it was just like a tune-up to be like, oh yeah, you're right.
• 10:27
SPEAKER_00: I uh because Jody knows this, Casey might know this, but Jody definitely knows this.
• 10:31
SPEAKER_00: The last few weeks leading up to Karygma, for so from like she wakes until I went to Karygma, which on this I'll say this in a backtark.
• 10:40
SPEAKER_00: I've been like, now it could be You also I hate the winter, and then it's like sunny and gloomy, sunny and gloomy.
• 10:49
SPEAKER_00: It's like you just make up your mind.
• 10:50
  SPEAKER_00: I couldn't pick a lane this year.
• 10:52
SPEAKER_00: But it's also, I think, the time I am in my life, so my hormones are probably wacky.
• 10:56
SPEAKER_00: So I've I've said multiple times, multiple people, like I care about nothing.
• 11:00
SPEAKER_00: I want to sit on my front porch, everyone leave me alone, I want to see no one's face, which is not that's sinful.
• 11:07
  SPEAKER_01: It's not very Christ-like, it's not very Christ-like, it's not very pastoral whatsoever.
• 11:12
SPEAKER_01: Did anyone listen to you when you said that?
• 11:14
  unknown: No.
• 11:14
SPEAKER_00: But like the twins are like, hey girls, you know where to find as soon as we come from school, you know where to find me?
• 11:18
SPEAKER_00: Oh, we are at the on the porch.
• 11:19
SPEAKER_00: If it's not, if it's sunny, I'll sit on my porch.
• 11:22
SPEAKER_00: So anyway, so I know I'm like, there, and I told Jody, this was what three weeks ago, maybe on a Wednesday night after Wednesday night.
• 11:28
SPEAKER_00: I said, I just want to go live on a private island.
• 11:30
SPEAKER_00: And I said, I would come with you.
• 11:32
SPEAKER_00: And I said, fine, you can live on one side and I'll live on the other.
• 11:35
SPEAKER_00: We'll meet in the middle when we need to talk to someone, and then we'll go our separate ways.
• 11:40
SPEAKER_00: But I've just been feeling like, you know.
• 11:44
SPEAKER_00: So then I heard this.
• 11:46
SPEAKER_00: I sat here and listened to this, but it was just a good reminder for me, like that alone is sinful for me to feel like.
• 11:54
SPEAKER_00: Now, there are probably things within me that I can probably go get fixed, like from a doctor's standpoint.
• 12:00
SPEAKER_00: I'm not like psycho, but like if I'm feeling there, could be some like hormonal things I need changed or whatever.
• 12:06
SPEAKER_00: But the reality is that I have a spirit living inside of me that's bigger than all of that.
• 12:12
SPEAKER_00: And why don't I remember that every day?
• 12:15
SPEAKER_00: How can I just walk around being like, oh, my, you know, my life is not bad.
• 12:20
SPEAKER_00: I have a are my household runs smooth.
• 12:23
SPEAKER_00: There's not chaos in my house.
• 12:24
SPEAKER_00: It's chaos because of lots of people, but not like chaos, you know.
• 12:27
SPEAKER_00: Like there is nothing in my life that I need to be ho-hom about.
• 12:32
SPEAKER_00: And I would it was just a very good reminder to be like, I think that we have the spirit of the Lord living inside of my being.
• 12:40
SPEAKER_01: I think it's why Christ invites us to remember because we do forget.
• 12:44
  SPEAKER_01: And so, right.
• 12:46
SPEAKER_01: And so, like, we've been living with Christ now for however many years it has been, you know.
• 12:50
SPEAKER_01: So, like, then you have to remember like who was I before that?
• 12:56
SPEAKER_01: Well, I do remember her.
• 12:57
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 12:58
SPEAKER_01: And so, like, I can remember what that was like with Adam, but like to have joy when they're suffering, to have peace, even though it's stormy outside.
• 13:08
SPEAKER_01: Like, we forget we only have that because of him.
• 13:11
SPEAKER_01: And so then I think there is something to it.
• 13:13
SPEAKER_01: Like, we were talking about, you know, um alcoholics.
• 13:17
SPEAKER_01: Like, if you're an alcoholic, you're always an alcoholic, you know.
• 13:20
SPEAKER_01: So you're like, well, shoot, can you be cured from that?
• 13:23
SPEAKER_01: Can you be released from that?
• 13:24
SPEAKER_01: But there is something powerful but about remembering who you were because of Christ, you are not that anymore, you know.
• 13:33
  SPEAKER_01: But to not forget.
• 13:35
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 13:37
SPEAKER_02: I love the I think Pastor Mike talks about it a lot, like the thin places.
• 13:41
SPEAKER_02: I love the thin places, and just how how thin the veil between the physical and the spiritual is.
• 13:52
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 13:53
SPEAKER_02: But what we are bent to see, like what we're what we tend to see most is what we can see and feel and sense and look at and touch and like influence, you know, here in the physical.
• 14:05
SPEAKER_02: And God has given us complete access to the spiritual, but it's just against our flesh to be there all the time.
• 14:13
SPEAKER_02: So any time, any place, a memory you have, or a moment you had, or a worship song that takes you there, or a verse that takes you there where you catch like even the tiniest glimpse of his glory and his presence.
• 14:26
SPEAKER_02: It's like we need to set up those milestones just like we've talked about, like with marriage.
• 14:32
SPEAKER_02: Remember like a special time, remember like your wedding day, or remember when you like you do in the normal goings on, we do need to set up those special places where we remember how much like pure access we have.
• 14:45
  SPEAKER_01: Milestones.
• 14:46
SPEAKER_01: I think we can also be reminded.
• 14:48
SPEAKER_01: I was reminded yesterday, and it, you know, if you forget that you've got resurrection inside of you and you've got the power of life on your tongue, you can get bogged down.
• 15:01
SPEAKER_01: Like I had clients yesterday, sadness after sadness, and they don't have the living God inside of them.
• 15:08
SPEAKER_01: So facing retirement with kids out of the house, with a husband who is ill, you are hopeless and just without joy.
• 15:18
SPEAKER_01: And then another family, you know, another woman, her daughter is dealing with anxiety, and she's married to a man who's foreign, and so they have all these problems, and it just was like, I was like, this is so hopeless.
• 15:32
SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't even know what to say.
• 15:35
SPEAKER_01: But knowing that, like, I've been in hopeless situations before too, but I wasn't without hope.
• 15:41
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and so then I finally like shook my.
• 15:44
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I've got to respond to this woman in some way to give her hope.
• 15:48
SPEAKER_01: I have resurrection life inside of me.
• 15:51
SPEAKER_01: And so I let her say all her words, and then I started speaking life to her, and then the room lifted.
• 15:58
SPEAKER_01: It's like, oh yeah, you bring life where you go, and you must.
• 16:02
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 16:03
  SPEAKER_00: That's what I was thinking too.
• 16:04
SPEAKER_00: So, like, as moms, when we have like whatever situations going on in our house, it's like we have the power to speak life into our house.
• 16:14
SPEAKER_00: And death, and to yeah, that's true too.
• 16:17
SPEAKER_00: And to our kids, like, and I was thinking about just like with the twins, like, I am not equipped to parent them.
• 16:24
SPEAKER_00: I we're not equipped to parent our own children, but I'm not equipped to be a mom to children who do not come from me, children who do not look f like me, children who have a past that I have to explain to them.
• 16:38
SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm not equipped to do any of that, but God is, and when he calls us to motherhood, however that happens, naturally, whatever, like he equips us for that.
• 16:48
SPEAKER_00: So when we're struggling in those seasons of like, I don't know what to do, I'm like, well, guess who does know what to do?
• 16:54
SPEAKER_00: But then it also makes us like as moms, and we have to hear and then do.
• 17:00
SPEAKER_00: So we have to hear from the Lord, and then we need to do what he says because he's the perfect parent.
• 17:05
SPEAKER_00: And so all those times when however you know, no one is a perfect mom, and we all think we're failing at some times, we're like, oh, guess who doesn't fail?
• 17:15
SPEAKER_00: You're right, Lord, you do not fail.
• 17:17
SPEAKER_00: So he gives us creativity, he gives us wisdom, he gives us joy and peace and patience to be with our kids and like the things that just like set us off.
• 17:25
SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't know if you have little things that set you up.
• 17:28
SPEAKER_00: So right now No, I don't have a single thing.
• 17:30
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, right.
• 17:31
SPEAKER_00: So I've I've now so today is Lila's last day of high school, her full last day, which is also my very last day of making lunch for Lila Bridges.
• 17:41
  SPEAKER_00: No more.
• 17:41
SPEAKER_00: No, let me tell you.
• 17:42
SPEAKER_00: What'd you make her for lunch today?
• 17:44
SPEAKER_00: Oh, I mean What does she eat?
• 17:46
SPEAKER_00: I don't make anything, it's the easiest thing, and sometimes she doesn't eat it.
• 17:50
SPEAKER_00: Today was a fruit and yogurt parfait that I bought at Walmart.
• 17:54
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 17:54
SPEAKER_00: Uh Cheez Its, mini muffins, a fruit roll-up stick thing.
• 17:59
  SPEAKER_00: That's organ.
• 18:00
  SPEAKER_00: So that's organic.
• 18:01
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and she won't she probably won't even eat it.
• 18:03
  SPEAKER_00: And a Dr.
• 18:04
  SPEAKER_00: Pepper.
• 18:04
SPEAKER_01: And she's the one who needs food constantly.
• 18:06
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, she needs food.
• 18:07
  SPEAKER_00: Yes.
• 18:07
SPEAKER_00: Okay, so anyway, that's just so it's my last day.
• 18:10
SPEAKER_00: But also, mind you, I did not make Libby Bridges lunch anytime.
• 18:14
SPEAKER_00: And she seems to be self-sufficient to the day.
• 18:17
SPEAKER_00: Lila has her lunch made for every day.
• 18:20
SPEAKER_00: Or something put in a lunch box.
• 18:21
SPEAKER_00: So it's my last day.
• 18:22
SPEAKER_01: Is it a brown paper bag or a lunch box?
• 18:24
SPEAKER_00: She has a little Via Bradley lunch box.
• 18:26
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay, gotcha.
• 18:27
SPEAKER_00: Um, I actually forgot where I was headed with that.
• 18:29
  SPEAKER_00: It's her last day.
• 18:30
  SPEAKER_00: It's your last day.
• 18:30
SPEAKER_01: It's your last day taking care of her.
• 18:33
  SPEAKER_01: Sorry, studio.
• 18:34
  SPEAKER_01: People driving nuts.
• 18:35
  SPEAKER_01: I know where I'm driving us.
• 18:36
SPEAKER_00: So I've lived all 18 years with Lila, and she's very, very picky about her clothes.
• 18:42
SPEAKER_00: She has been since she was like two.
• 18:45
SPEAKER_00: It's the way it feels.
• 18:46
SPEAKER_00: Like it always she's very sensory, so everything has to feel right on her body.
• 18:51
SPEAKER_00: And she wears the same clothes over and over.
• 18:52
SPEAKER_00: So when she was little, I wouldn't buy her things because you're just wearing the same red t-shirt and little Z-P shorts that are way too tiny for you because it was just always a bite because it's the way it fell.
• 19:07
  SPEAKER_00: So guess what?
• 19:08
  SPEAKER_00: Now I have Mariah.
• 19:09
  SPEAKER_00: She's the same.
• 19:11
  unknown: Yes.
• 19:11
SPEAKER_00: You know how to do it.
• 19:12
  SPEAKER_00: No, it's so exhausting.
• 19:15
SPEAKER_00: You know how to do it.
• 19:16
  SPEAKER_00: But do I though?
• 19:17
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, and so then I'm like, okay, God, you can give me the joy, peace, patience that I need to make it through this child who's picky about their clothes, because that's so frustrating.
• 19:27
SPEAKER_00: Like, just put it on.
• 19:28
  SPEAKER_00: Just get dressed.
• 19:29
SPEAKER_00: We have to do it.
• 19:29
SPEAKER_00: She doesn't want to wear gym shorts.
• 19:30
SPEAKER_00: She wants to wear jeans shorts.
• 19:31
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, you can wear jeans shorts every day of your life.
• 19:33
SPEAKER_00: But honestly, why can't you?
• 19:36
SPEAKER_00: You know, like that's my problem.
• 19:38
  SPEAKER_00: You know what?
• 19:38
  SPEAKER_00: Whatever.
• 19:38
  SPEAKER_00: I don't care.
• 19:39
SPEAKER_00: Wear the same thing every f all five days.
• 19:40
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 19:41
SPEAKER_00: You'll eventually not do that because you'll learn not to.
• 19:43
SPEAKER_00: So anyway, I was like, okay, God, you give me the strength to parent that again.
• 19:50
SPEAKER_01: What I do love to say though, you know, of course, you this doesn't work for um kids in care or kids who have been adopted.
• 19:57
SPEAKER_01: But when it is your own kids and you're like, feel like you're not equipped, the Lord actually did select Selmet for you.
• 20:05
SPEAKER_01: He's like, you know what?
• 20:06
SPEAKER_01: You are the best mom for him.
• 20:08
SPEAKER_01: You're like, Are you sure?
• 20:10
SPEAKER_01: I'm pretty sure you made the God.
• 20:12
SPEAKER_01: He gave them to you.
• 20:14
SPEAKER_01: You're the best one for this kid.
• 20:15
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 20:16
SPEAKER_02: I've told my girls all like probably every day we're trying to leave.
• 20:19
SPEAKER_02: I said it this morning.
• 20:20
SPEAKER_02: I was like, what happens to your brains when I say it's time to get in the car?
• 20:25
SPEAKER_02: What happens to what did they say?
• 20:27
SPEAKER_02: They just look at me because now I'm on a rant, you know, and I'm like, Is it like they can't deal with life?
• 20:32
SPEAKER_01: It's so they don't want to leave, they love their home.
• 20:35
SPEAKER_02: It's just all the things happen, like there's where's another shoe?
• 20:39
SPEAKER_02: Is where's the water bottle?
• 20:40
SPEAKER_02: I was like, Sage, you this is your second year of school.
• 20:43
SPEAKER_02: You have to take a water bottle every single day.
• 20:44
SPEAKER_02: The teacher has written me like, hey, a reminder, Sage needs your water bottle.
• 20:47
SPEAKER_02: I'm like, well, she she's responsible for her own water bottle.
• 20:49
  SPEAKER_02: Where is it?
• 20:50
SPEAKER_02: We never know where it is, and I will lose my mind.
• 20:52
SPEAKER_02: Like, where is your stuff?
• 20:55
  SPEAKER_02: We don't know.
• 20:55
SPEAKER_02: Like, that's not the right answer.
• 20:57
SPEAKER_02: But I have to tell them all the time.
• 20:58
SPEAKER_02: I'm like, because I'm a speech giver, and Hayden is not.
• 21:02
SPEAKER_02: He's just quick, correct, move on.
• 21:04
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 21:04
SPEAKER_02: So we probably need to meet in the middle a little bit.
• 21:06
SPEAKER_02: Maybe it's I've just been like, it's good that we're both both.
• 21:09
SPEAKER_02: How will speeches last until I'm not angry anymore?
• 21:12
SPEAKER_02: I mean, because kids are they tuned out after about staring at the shouldn't talk, but I'm just like, and then does that even make sense?
• 21:20
  SPEAKER_01: Their brain creating stories.
• 21:21
  SPEAKER_02: I know, and I'm like, Casey, they're no, I'm not.
• 21:24
SPEAKER_02: So anyway, I'm like, my speeches are all for naught.
• 21:27
SPEAKER_02: But I tell them all the time, I'm like, guys, I am not good.
• 21:31
  SPEAKER_02: God is good.
• 21:32
SPEAKER_02: Please don't ever blame him for the way I'm behaving.
• 21:36
SPEAKER_02: I need to, I need to apologize.
• 21:39
  SPEAKER_02: All every day.
• 21:40
  SPEAKER_00: Every day.
• 21:41
  SPEAKER_00: That's a universal child trait, though.
• 21:43
  SPEAKER_00: Like, why everything?
• 21:45
  SPEAKER_00: I love that question.
• 21:46
SPEAKER_00: Not being able to function when you're like, so this just happened on Sunday.
• 21:50
SPEAKER_00: I get myself ready and at like 8 15, I'm like, if the girls dress, come out.
• 21:54
SPEAKER_00: I don't have to do their their hair's done, right?
• 21:56
SPEAKER_00: So I don't have to worry about that part.
• 21:57
SPEAKER_00: They've already should brush their teeth.
• 22:00
SPEAKER_00: Get dressed, get on your shoes, and we go out the door.
• 22:02
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 22:02
SPEAKER_00: Well, they act like they can't function in life.
• 22:04
SPEAKER_02: And it's just when I say, All right, let's head to the car.
• 22:07
SPEAKER_00: They're under the blankets, they're rolling around.
• 22:09
  SPEAKER_00: Try different words.
• 22:10
SPEAKER_01: Why can you try different words?
• 22:12
SPEAKER_01: Well, I told them this week.
• 22:13
SPEAKER_01: Let's go on an adventure to the car.
• 22:15
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's actually good.
• 22:17
  SPEAKER_01: Try a different, maybe.
• 22:18
SPEAKER_00: Well, this week I said, You are not allowed to do anything or race.
• 22:21
SPEAKER_01: Sometimes I like to race kids race.
• 22:23
SPEAKER_00: Who thinks they can beat mom to the car?
• 22:24
SPEAKER_00: I need to try this.
• 22:25
  SPEAKER_00: They're getting dressed.
• 22:26
SPEAKER_00: We're fully getting ready as soon as we get out of bed.
• 22:28
SPEAKER_00: And then you can do whatever you want.
• 22:30
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 22:30
SPEAKER_00: Because when I'm ready to go, then you're ready to go.
• 22:32
SPEAKER_00: You just have to walk to the car.
• 22:33
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 22:33
SPEAKER_00: So I'm going to try that.
• 22:34
SPEAKER_00: But I'm also going to advertise adventure.
• 22:36
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, adventure.
• 22:38
SPEAKER_01: I do this upstairs with kids a lot.
• 22:40
SPEAKER_01: They're like dragging their feet to the class.
• 22:42
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, can you beat me to your class?
• 22:44
SPEAKER_01: And they're like, hold on.
• 22:45
  SPEAKER_01: They're like, I guess I'm going to run.
• 22:47
SPEAKER_01: And then we sometimes we have a little struggle at the door still, but a lot of times it works.
• 22:52
SPEAKER_02: I do think too, with us not having real clocks in the house anymore, you used to see time moving.
• 22:58
  SPEAKER_02: So they don't know.
• 23:00
SPEAKER_02: But now nobody has a concept of like I think we asked you about time this morning.
• 23:05
SPEAKER_01: You had no idea either.
• 23:07
  SPEAKER_02: Well, okay, people.
• 23:08
SPEAKER_02: They were asking me exactly what time Hayden got somewhere last night when he got home.
• 23:13
SPEAKER_02: And I was like, I wasn't even with him.
• 23:15
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
• 23:16
  SPEAKER_02: Watch.
• 23:16
  SPEAKER_01: Like, I have a watch watch.
• 23:18
SPEAKER_01: I live by time, so like I'm always aware of time.
• 23:21
SPEAKER_02: But with my kids, when I say, okay, you have 13 minutes.
• 23:24
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, that is 13 30 minutes.
• 23:28
SPEAKER_00: But it actually plays to your advantage, right?
• 23:29
SPEAKER_00: Because you're like, you have 10 minutes left before bedtime.
• 23:32
SPEAKER_00: Well, they don't know two minutes, 10 minutes.
• 23:34
  SPEAKER_00: They don't know.
• 23:34
  SPEAKER_00: It's 6 45.
• 23:35
  SPEAKER_00: Two minutes.
• 23:36
  SPEAKER_00: It's bedtime.
• 23:38
SPEAKER_01: You know, like what we have in the sensory room.
• 23:41
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 23:42
SPEAKER_02: I do want to get, I keep saying I want to get a clock to put in the kitchen so they can see.
• 23:46
SPEAKER_02: Like, say, hey, when this hand gets here, that's breakfast is over.
• 23:49
SPEAKER_02: That's their slowest part of the day.
• 23:50
SPEAKER_02: They're just sitting, visiting, playing, eating their breakfast forever.
• 23:55
  SPEAKER_02: I'm like, okay.
• 23:56
  SPEAKER_01: I do like a long breakfast.
• 23:57
SPEAKER_02: I know, but not, yeah.
• 23:58
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 24:00
  SPEAKER_01: That's a good observation.
• 24:00
SPEAKER_01: I think you got something there.
• 24:02
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 24:02
SPEAKER_02: Because they just know I go from pleasant to all of a sudden I'm unpleasant.
• 24:06
  SPEAKER_02: Which is unfair, right?
• 24:07
  SPEAKER_02: It's not fair, yeah.
• 24:07
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 24:08
SPEAKER_00: I feel that way too.
• 24:08
SPEAKER_00: It's like, it's unfair when I know I have 10 minutes to get out of the house.
• 24:12
  SPEAKER_00: They don't know that.
• 24:13
  SPEAKER_00: No idea.
• 24:13
  SPEAKER_00: No urgency.
• 24:14
SPEAKER_00: And so, yes, there's no urgency.
• 24:16
  SPEAKER_00: Lovely life.
• 24:17
SPEAKER_00: Frustrating for the parent, like for the mom.
• 24:21
SPEAKER_00: But really, I didn't do anything to help them know that it's not.
• 24:26
SPEAKER_01: But I think it is important for kids to learn to obey and to obey quickly.
• 24:29
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 24:30
SPEAKER_01: Like it is for their safety.
• 24:31
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 24:33
SPEAKER_00: Which they do for the most part.
• 24:36
SPEAKER_00: So and so do yours.
• 24:37
  SPEAKER_00: They do.
• 24:38
  SPEAKER_00: It's just where's the other shoe?
• 24:40
  SPEAKER_02: That's really my.
• 24:41
  SPEAKER_02: It's never there.
• 24:42
  SPEAKER_02: Never.
• 24:43
  SPEAKER_02: It's never there.
• 24:44
SPEAKER_02: Never with the other one, that's for sure.
• 24:46
  unknown: I don't know.
• 24:47
  SPEAKER_00: It's never a pair.
• 24:49
  SPEAKER_00: No.
• 24:49
  SPEAKER_02: Never.
• 24:50
SPEAKER_02: The shoe in the water bottle.
• 24:52
SPEAKER_02: I will never know where they go.
• 24:55
SPEAKER_00: Just let them wear two different shoes.
• 24:57
  SPEAKER_00: I mean, that's where I am.
• 24:58
  SPEAKER_00: I don't care.
• 24:59
SPEAKER_00: Well, you match, don't match, do you have shoes on the mouth?
• 25:01
  SPEAKER_00: I don't care.
• 25:02
  SPEAKER_00: Just put it on.
• 25:02
SPEAKER_00: You think they'd be embarrassed?
• 25:03
  SPEAKER_00: Wear some clothes.
• 25:04
SPEAKER_00: I think they would learn it.
• 25:05
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 25:05
SPEAKER_00: Like we should let them learn.
• 25:08
  SPEAKER_00: I look foolish.
• 25:09
SPEAKER_00: So I need to learn how to.
• 25:11
SPEAKER_00: If I want to dress myself, then I need to learn how to dress myself.
• 25:15
SPEAKER_02: Today we were getting the heat of the clock, and all of a sudden, Hazel was like, she brought me her little preschool calendar and she goes, Can you read this to me?
• 25:22
  SPEAKER_02: Oh dear.
• 25:23
SPEAKER_02: And it said wacky Wednesday.
• 25:24
SPEAKER_01: And I was like, Perfect, the best day.
• 25:27
SPEAKER_01: Go throw on whatever else.
• 25:29
SPEAKER_01: I thought you were gonna say, like, you just found out and like you didn't have, you know, you need to most days, that is.
• 25:34
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 25:34
SPEAKER_01: But no, this day said why did she even have the insight to say, I think it's important to you, read this?
• 25:39
SPEAKER_02: Because yesterday we read it on our way out the door, and it was beach day.
• 25:43
SPEAKER_02: Bring a towel, bring sunglasses to pretend you're at the beach.
• 25:46
SPEAKER_02: And so she's like, We gotta get that really quick.
• 25:48
SPEAKER_02: So yesterday it paid off.
• 25:50
SPEAKER_02: So today we're like, can you read this to me?
• 25:52
  SPEAKER_02: Waggy Wednesday.
• 25:53
SPEAKER_02: So she completely dressed herself.
• 25:55
  SPEAKER_02: She looked great.
• 25:55
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, she looked wacky.
• 25:57
SPEAKER_02: I did not brush her hair.
• 25:58
SPEAKER_02: Oh you gotta hurry and do your hair.
• 26:00
SPEAKER_02: And I was like, No, we don't.
• 26:01
  SPEAKER_02: It's wacky.
• 26:02
  unknown: It's wacky.
• 26:04
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, she looked cute.
• 26:05
  SPEAKER_02: She looked really cute.
• 26:06
SPEAKER_00: So the other part, too, to get deep for five more minutes because we are short on time today.
• 26:12
SPEAKER_00: Um, I also thought we've had a lot of death actually in our church family this last week.
• 26:18
SPEAKER_00: Um, I had an uncle that died, we've had just people that have lost people.
• 26:23
SPEAKER_00: And almost like it's kind of been like we've known they were sick and we knew they were gonna pass, but all of them, all four of the people I'm thinking, my mom had a really good friend that died too.
• 26:35
SPEAKER_00: Um pass faster than anyone thought.
• 26:39
SPEAKER_00: So it kind of it's expected, but it kind of came unexpected at the same time.
• 26:43
SPEAKER_00: And so when I was thinking about resurrection, like yes, we have resurrection power that lives in us, which means we can speak life into situations that are around us, and we have the power to do that, but also that same power that raised Jesus from the dead already lives inside of us if we belong to the Lord.
• 27:02
SPEAKER_00: And so it gives us so much hope that the family that we've lost, or the loved ones that we've lost, or the moms that we've already lost, like they have that same power in them also.
• 27:12
SPEAKER_00: So we're all going to be raised together and have new bodies in heaven and be together.
• 27:19
SPEAKER_00: It's just so incredible when you really like sit down to ponder it and it gives you so much hope, but it also can give you so much confidence in like who God is.
• 27:30
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and like it just refocuses your mind on like, oh yeah, this is what I'm doing here.
• 27:35
SPEAKER_00: We are so selfish, really.
• 27:38
SPEAKER_00: We're such a selfish culture anymore, inside the church and outside the church.
• 27:43
SPEAKER_00: We want we're consumer, I think because you said we're so consumer-based.
• 27:47
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 27:47
SPEAKER_00: And so we forget, I think we can forget, like, oh yes, the whole point of me even following the Lord, it's not to be here and in heaven one day.
• 27:58
SPEAKER_00: It's to be on earth doing his work on earth, and I am the vehicle which does that.
• 28:05
SPEAKER_00: And so if I'm just caught up in my own little world, which I can do a lot, I'm not being effective, which I guess maybe that's the scheme of the enemy.
• 28:13
SPEAKER_00: We're not being effective because we're so surrounded by our own thoughts and feelings and problems, and we don't look out to anyone.
• 28:20
SPEAKER_00: We're not helpful to anyone.
• 28:22
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 28:22
SPEAKER_00: We can be unhelpful to even the people that live in our house.
• 28:25
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 28:25
SPEAKER_00: Because we're so caught up in how we feel or what is going on in our personal lives.
• 28:30
SPEAKER_02: Well, I think it reveals what what your goal is, like where your where your sights are set, you know.
• 28:35
SPEAKER_02: Like, is my goal to get all of my kids through college and married and happy, or to retire?
• 28:42
SPEAKER_02: Is my goal to enjoy this or that or to get a job?
• 28:47
SPEAKER_02: I don't know, you know, whatever our goal is, and you can have goals, but ultimately, if and I I mean, this is me.
• 28:54
SPEAKER_02: Sometimes I'll have this little thing in my head, like, oh Lord, please don't let me like miss out on this or this in my kids' life.
• 29:00
  SPEAKER_02: Yes.
• 29:00
SPEAKER_02: Like I will literally pray things like that.
• 29:02
SPEAKER_02: And then I'm like, wait though, is my what if the Lord said, No, you're being taken tomorrow and you're not gonna see any of this with your kids or be the one to walk through it with them, but I'm in control, so then I just have to re pray.
• 29:16
SPEAKER_02: I'm like, okay, help my heart to truly be set on eternal things, like what matters before me today to get to eternal.
• 29:24
  SPEAKER_02: And that is hard.
• 29:25
SPEAKER_02: It's hard because we can't always see it.
• 29:27
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 29:28
SPEAKER_02: So I don't want to miss out on my kids getting married and having their first kids, and I don't know.
• 29:33
SPEAKER_00: It's just what you were saying about the veil.
• 29:35
SPEAKER_00: We can't see so into the heavenly realm.
• 29:38
SPEAKER_00: So all we know is this.
• 29:40
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the joys of here.
• 29:42
SPEAKER_00: We do get caught up in the world.
• 29:43
SPEAKER_00: It's hard not to, like, yeah, don't be of the be in the world without the world is a hard beautiful beautiful world.
• 29:49
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's created for us to do that.
• 29:51
SPEAKER_01: So he's gonna like we actually are gonna be here in this world.
• 29:54
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's gonna be made new.
• 29:56
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 29:56
SPEAKER_01: And so, like, we're gonna get to continue to enjoy this world, yeah, but without all the bad things that are here.
• 30:02
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but then like in 1 Corinthians 15, which we talked about last week, we were talking about the new imperishable body.
• 30:08
SPEAKER_01: We'll be in 1 Corinthians um this summer.
• 30:11
SPEAKER_01: But Amanda Wetzler, she had taught on it, and I had never thought of it like this when she said, you know, the imperishable is it's like exact scripture is gonna be like say it right.
• 30:21
SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna find it, keep saying.
• 30:23
SPEAKER_01: Well, so she was saying, so like it's imperishable seed.
• 30:26
SPEAKER_01: And when you think of a seed, a seed looks nothing like the plant.
• 30:32
  SPEAKER_01: It's actually quite different.
• 30:33
SPEAKER_01: So like I know we saw Jesus resurrected, so like the disciples, 500 people, like he looked like himself, he was recognizable, he had a real body, he ate real food, but then he was, you know, it sometimes they didn't recognize him at first, you know, so like it was him, but it was different.
• 30:51
  SPEAKER_01: That's me.
• 30:52
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so uh 1 Corinthians 15 50, he says, What I'm saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the kingdom of God.
• 31:05
SPEAKER_00: These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever.
• 31:09
SPEAKER_00: And what I'm thinking is like we get we are sad when people die.
• 31:14
SPEAKER_00: We do mourn the loss because we're mourning the loss here on earth.
• 31:18
SPEAKER_00: But honestly, it's good news.
• 31:20
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, because our these bodies that we have on earth cannot inherit the kingdom of God, they have to be transformed into a heavenly body, and that can't happen unless we die.
• 31:31
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 31:31
SPEAKER_00: Which seems like so like counterintuitive to like how we live because we don't nobody wants to die.
• 31:36
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 31:40
SPEAKER_00: It's like, no, we have to die to inherit the things.
• 31:44
SPEAKER_01: I think what's hard is that you know, as we're aging, we're like, oh yeah, these bodies were not meant to make go the distance.
• 31:50
SPEAKER_01: But then when you see someone who's you know, life is cut short, for sure.
• 31:54
SPEAKER_01: That's very hard and confusing.
• 31:56
SPEAKER_02: Well, and Paul says, I don't remember where I was a I assumed it was near here, Romans 8 somewhere, but he says, though we grieve, we do not grieve like those who have no hope.
• 32:06
SPEAKER_02: So it is Jesus grieved the loss of a few of his friends.
• 32:11
SPEAKER_02: And so I I think the balance is not being a robot one way or another.
• 32:16
SPEAKER_02: Like we don't just forsake earthly ple pleasures because we're not made for here.
• 32:20
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 32:21
SPEAKER_02: We do enjoy, like, God loves creation.
• 32:24
SPEAKER_02: He made it, he gave us the feeling when a child is born, the feeling when you fall in love.
• 32:29
SPEAKER_02: Like he gave us all of that to enjoy and like see him here.
• 32:34
SPEAKER_02: So you can't just be a weird, like non-relatable person that's like, well, earth doesn't matter at all.
• 32:39
SPEAKER_02: It's like it sort of does, and God loves it.
• 32:41
SPEAKER_01: But it was a heresy that they had to combat in the early church.
• 32:45
SPEAKER_02: And we do mourn when life is taken from here, but not without hope, like you were saying, Kelly.
• 32:51
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 32:51
SPEAKER_00: What we don't do is walk well with people who mourn.
• 32:54
SPEAKER_00: We do not do it well.
• 32:56
  SPEAKER_00: As a culture as a society.
• 32:57
SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, that's part of the colour.
• 32:58
  SPEAKER_00: Our culture.
• 32:58
  SPEAKER_00: Our culture for it.
• 32:59
SPEAKER_02: I we were talking about that because when um I was actually in Palestine once, and I know we've talked about it here once, when they were called to mourning.
• 33:07
  SPEAKER_02: Yes.
• 33:07
SPEAKER_02: And everyone's just going about their business, and all of a sudden the prayer would start, and it's like moaning, praying, they're wearing dark, and then the prayer would be over and they go back to normal.
• 33:16
SPEAKER_02: But it was like mourning out of obedience, not because it was actually in them, like bringing a tear to their eye.
• 33:23
SPEAKER_02: And so I've just been thinking, especially walking through my with my friend right now, whose mom just passed away, what does it look like for me to not be experiencing it myself, but to obediently mourn with a friend?
• 33:35
SPEAKER_02: Like, what does that look like?
• 33:36
SPEAKER_00: What do you And for has as long as it takes?
• 33:39
SPEAKER_00: We also like to like microwave things here.
• 33:42
SPEAKER_00: So it's like people that have lost a parent or lost a child or whatever it is, even if they've lost a job or lost a friendship that was near and dear to their heart, we expect people to be re done in like four weeks or something.
• 33:54
  SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't know.
• 33:55
  SPEAKER_00: It's like not a quick timeline.
• 33:56
SPEAKER_00: It could still bother you.
• 33:58
SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, when you lose your mom, you might not be sad about it every day, but you're gonna mourn her loss probably for the rest of your life.
• 34:05
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
• 34:06
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 34:06
SPEAKER_00: And we can, especially if you've never experienced it, I think, but you can just be like, Why aren't you over that already?
• 34:11
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 34:12
SPEAKER_00: Well, they're never gonna get over it.
• 34:13
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
• 34:14
SPEAKER_00: I mean, we still have hope, right?
• 34:16
SPEAKER_00: Like, especially your friend in her situation, like she has hope because she's full of the Lord, like we're gonna be.
• 34:22
SPEAKER_00: But that doesn't really take the loss of her on earth away, yeah.
• 34:26
SPEAKER_00: The sadness away of that.
• 34:27
SPEAKER_00: Like I so to be able to let people be sad for a while.
• 34:31
SPEAKER_01: I think I realize how important it is, you know, especially for people to continue to be able to like talk about their loved ones.
• 34:38
SPEAKER_01: My sister-in-law has been a widow now for 10 years, and someone here at our church was telling me that how much it blessed them to hear that 10 years later she still is like, I'm thinking of Adam today.
• 34:51
SPEAKER_01: I wish he was here to see this.
• 34:53
SPEAKER_01: Knowing like she doesn't want to think of a time where she's not gonna be like she's had a more immediate loss.
• 34:59
SPEAKER_01: And it's like, I love him dearly.
• 35:01
SPEAKER_01: I can't imagine a time where I'm just like, life is good.
• 35:04
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, you're always gonna be like, I wish you would have seen this moment, even if you're remarried, I wish your dad would have been here to see this moment.
• 35:12
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like there's gonna be mourning.
• 35:15
  SPEAKER_01: Doesn't mean there's not joy.
• 35:17
  SPEAKER_01: That's what's yeah different for us.
• 35:19
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 35:22
SPEAKER_00: So I just wanted to maybe like hop on and just give moms a little shot in the arm.
• 35:28
SPEAKER_00: That oh, that's what else I was gonna read.
• 35:31
SPEAKER_00: Oh, hold on, I lost my place.
• 35:32
SPEAKER_00: Let me go back really fast.
• 35:33
  SPEAKER_01: It's right here.
• 35:34
SPEAKER_01: A shot in the arm, meaning it's gonna be painful at first, or like a like a boost, like a like a vitamin infusion.
• 35:43
  SPEAKER_00: Go get an infusion.
• 35:45
SPEAKER_00: Um, like a nice facial.
• 35:47
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, good.
• 35:48
  SPEAKER_00: I had that I got um a shot.
• 35:52
SPEAKER_00: Oh, did I lose it?
• 35:54
SPEAKER_00: Hold on, is it infusions or Galatians?
• 35:56
SPEAKER_00: I think I need to go to Galatians.
• 35:58
  SPEAKER_00: Hold on.
• 35:58
SPEAKER_00: I okay, I'm now I'm on the right track.
• 36:00
SPEAKER_00: I turned too many pages.
• 36:02
SPEAKER_01: I'm sitting here trying to retrieve a thought.
• 36:04
SPEAKER_01: I had a thought too, and I'm like, what it was really good.
• 36:07
  SPEAKER_01: What was it?
• 36:08
  SPEAKER_01: Let's go.
• 36:09
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 36:10
SPEAKER_00: So because the spirit of God can live in us, not only do we have resurrection power, like we have life and we have life and death, like we said, and the power of our tongue, but we also have access to the fruits of the spirit, which I read today and it's so good to remember.
• 36:28
SPEAKER_00: It's not like immediate access, right?
• 36:30
SPEAKER_00: Like we have immediate, immediate access to resurrection power, right?
• 36:35
  SPEAKER_00: The Holy Spirit.
• 36:36
SPEAKER_00: But the gifts of the Spirit can like grow.
• 36:38
SPEAKER_00: Like we could lack in some of them and need growth, or you know what I'm saying?
• 36:42
SPEAKER_00: So these are the things that we we possess and we can have because the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives.
• 36:52
SPEAKER_00: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
• 36:59
SPEAKER_00: Like we get to have they're already in us, and he can produce the things we're lacking in to come to more light if we ask and seek.
• 37:11
SPEAKER_00: And like but you have to also be self-aware.
• 37:13
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 37:14
  SPEAKER_00: Like I have no self-control.
• 37:15
SPEAKER_00: I'm not saying about me in general.
• 37:17
SPEAKER_00: Like, no, you get to have self-control because the Holy Spirit lives inside of you.
• 37:20
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 37:20
SPEAKER_01: So that you part of produce self-control.
• 37:23
SPEAKER_01: Working out your salvation, like you get better at utilizing the patience that you possess.
• 37:28
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 37:28
SPEAKER_01: You get better at utilizing the self-control that you already possess.
• 37:31
  SPEAKER_01: You already possess it.
• 37:32
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 37:32
SPEAKER_02: Well, I think a lot of that one is um what's different about that, and then the gifts of the Holy Spirit, I think you have to keep daily submitting to the spirit because he's the one that produces those.
• 37:43
SPEAKER_02: You don't that's not everyone is just building.
• 37:47
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 37:47
  SPEAKER_02: It's not a like I think I said one time, it's not a personality test.
• 37:51
SPEAKER_02: Like some of us land in these three, some of us land in these.
• 37:54
SPEAKER_02: You it's telling us the evidence that the spirit is active and you're submitting to him in your life are these nine things.
• 38:00
SPEAKER_02: Like he is that, not me.
• 38:01
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he is these nine things.
• 38:03
SPEAKER_02: And we get to produce those out of our lives because the Holy Spirit lives in us.
• 38:07
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, not because we can, because he can.
• 38:09
SPEAKER_00: So I can have produce joy in my household because the Holy Spirit lives in me.
• 38:13
SPEAKER_02: And when I'm not producing those things, I'm like, guys, I did not let the Holy Spirit be in charge of this morning.
• 38:18
  SPEAKER_02: I'm so sorry, guys.
• 38:19
SPEAKER_00: So I hope it's encouraging to everyone listening that if you're struggling in an area in your motherhood journey, that you have access to all the answers.
• 38:28
SPEAKER_00: I mean, we literally have the entire Bible.
• 38:30
SPEAKER_00: It's act we have access to all of the answers.
• 38:32
SPEAKER_00: You do have to sit and find them.
• 38:34
SPEAKER_00: You know, you have him feed you.
• 38:37
SPEAKER_00: You do have to do some work to get the answers, but we have the access.
• 38:41
SPEAKER_00: Like, I just want every like us to like sit with that for a second and really ponder that.
• 38:47
SPEAKER_00: Like, I have the access to all things because I I know who the creator of all things is.
• 38:54
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 38:54
SPEAKER_02: Well, and when you're saying speak life, one thing I struggle with, you need to speak life to yourself too.
• 39:00
  SPEAKER_02: That's good.
• 39:00
SPEAKER_02: Like I always tell people I reject when people are like, oh, you're gonna be just like they're gonna pay you back for everything you're they're gonna be just like your your mom or your uncle.
• 39:09
SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, no, I reject that.
• 39:10
SPEAKER_02: Like these children get their own testimony, their own, they're not just created to pay me back for, you know, whatever.
• 39:15
  SPEAKER_02: Like, I don't know.
• 39:16
SPEAKER_02: People say the weirdest things when you have kids, but also speaking life in encouragement to yourself, like, oh, I just I'm struggling with this, or I'm so bad at that, or I'm whatever.
• 39:25
SPEAKER_02: Like speak life over your kids, over your marriage, over yourself.
• 39:29
SPEAKER_01: Which is where scripture comes in because you're not coming up with those good words.
• 39:33
  SPEAKER_01: You need his words.
• 39:34
  SPEAKER_00: You need to know.
• 39:34
SPEAKER_02: If you try to give yourself your own pep talk, it's not gonna be bell.
• 39:38
SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be um wrapped in yourself.
• 39:41
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, right.
• 39:42
SPEAKER_00: You know, like it's gonna be self-uh.
• 39:43
SPEAKER_00: You're gonna come to the end of that.
• 39:45
  SPEAKER_00: Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 39:46
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 39:47
SPEAKER_00: So Jody, would you like to pray for us and all the moms listening and all the other people that listen to?
• 39:52
  SPEAKER_01: I do.
• 39:53
SPEAKER_01: Heavenly Father, we are so thankful for our moms.
• 39:58
SPEAKER_01: Every single one of us, whether we know our mom, we don't know our mom, you have given moms.
• 40:04
SPEAKER_01: It's how you decided to continue uh humanity.
• 40:08
SPEAKER_01: And so I pray blessing over our moms.
• 40:11
SPEAKER_01: I pray that they would get that vitamin infusion.
• 40:14
SPEAKER_01: But Lord, most of all, I pray that they would just sit in front of you, sit in front of their rabbi, their teacher, their Lord, that they would just even literally in their moments with their coffee, sit on the ground in front of a chair and learn from Rabbi Jesus.
• 40:32
SPEAKER_01: He says that um Mary, when she did that, she chose the better thing to learn from you.
• 40:37
SPEAKER_01: And the things that we learn from you, they translate and they go out and they affect all of the people that we bump into.
• 40:45
SPEAKER_01: So, Lord, I pray that our moms, our women, our men, all of us would sit at the feet of Jesus and learn.
• 40:52
SPEAKER_01: And we thank you for your Holy Spirit that enables us to do that, and that we're able to overflow with the fruit of the Spirit for your glory and for our good.
• 41:03
SPEAKER_01: In Jesus' name I pray.
• 41:05
  SPEAKER_01: Amen.
