- Well I do use audio hijack some of the time but it still does that freezing thing but then I found out you know all those times I said oh it freezes like it's not recording. It turns out it's like the interface that freezes. But if I just leave it there, it actually does record something. But it just shows zero the whole time with no animation. Why? Which is not confidence inspiring. I don't know, this is versions upon versions. Great app, just sometimes Did you ever do that that that secure enclave thing you have to do where you remember you used to back in the day have to kind of do that work around? I followed the rules, it's always run. For every for every software product and every hardware product there is always a minimum of one, sometimes three, people that it just doesn't work for for reasons. And that's just how it has to be. There's always someone where it's like I've done everything exactly the same, but it doesn't work. And Martin is that for audio hijack. And I hesitate to say it because I think it's a great app. I don't say it to crap on it. It's just a weird thing that happens. So you should get it if you haven't already, not a sponsor. I'd say I'd buy a new buy a new computer, but they're all too expensive now, so don't do that. I don't have a spreadsheet, so I'm allowed to do that. Just get one without RAM. True. They're free. I couldn't ac would you would you be interested? What don't I make with thirty-two gigabytes? It could become my problem on the show, is that right? How much are you selling that for? Like nine and a half grand? My goodness, thirty-two gigabytes. Just getting yeah, it's it's it's a great investment. The only thing you have on your bus you have to move that from the depreciation to the appreciation spreadsheet 'cause man, that RAM is just skyrocketing. Wait a minute. Someone's just run into the room. What do you want to say, Mac? Hello. Come to come closer. You can't hear them though. What do you want to say? Hello, Mac. You're gonna use your voice. People are listening. Hello. Hello. Man, he keeps getting. Is there something you wanted to say bursting into the room? He keeps getting bigger. No? I know he's getting bigger. I bet he wants to talk about um multi-region Blu-ray players. Oh yeah, definitely. Okay, Mac, before I start talking about that, is there something you want to tell Andrew and Jason, even though you can't hear them because you're not wearing earphones. Say one cool thing. Batman. Could you hear what he just said? No. The coolest thing. Yeah, say it again, but with a big voice. Batman. Batman. That's it. Batman. Batman. Does he all right does Mac we gotta keep going, Mac? Does Mac know there's a new Spider-Man movie coming out soon? Oh, okay. Just get it. He just smashed coat hangers. I'm sure the listeners He ran into coat hangers hanging off the door. Oh perfect. There's a mat shaped hole in the door now, cartoon style. It's like the Kool-Aid man. Now he's threatening to turn the light off on me. Don't do that. There it goes. And he did. He dared. He dared. Oh my god. Alright, that's the Feld household. I'm glad that everyone listening got a good picture of that. So you said Spider-Man. Uh he's he yeah. I think he watches the Spidey and Friends thing on ABC iView, like for kids, ABC kids sometimes, but Spider Man is not a big part of his Batman all the time. That's right. Now we were gonna go follow up laser multi-region Blu-ray player. Um this is a very quick item because you would recall as you reminded me that I was talking about laser on a recent episode and I kinda had no idea what you were talking about. But yes, you'll be happy to know that I did purchase laser by the way. Oh yeah big time. I did purchase it. It arrived super quickly from the official laser shop online. Laser. And I'm actually super happy about you know, I'm really happy with this machine because it was really reasonably priced. And yeah, it doesn't do the whole 4K thing, but I tested a bunch of different discs, DVDs and Blu-rays on them. And it looks fantastic. So yeah, it's fine. And now I have that, you know, method, that capability to actually play something from a different region as you would recall was the reason that um I was kind of considering it in the first place. So yeah, moral of the story is it's okay to pay not a lot for technology and have it still work. And arguably it does stuff better than even the Xbox does in terms of like a media player thing. Like you can just stick a USB in it and it works way, way easier. Even like an old data, you know, like photo CD that Natasha had from when she was, you know, doing the bridge climb years ago in Sydney and we put on our old you know bungee jumping and skydiving DVDs and it was arguably a better experience than the Xbox for playback. So yeah, go for it with laser.com slash save slash Oh god. People are gonna check this now. It doesn't exist. Actually, this throws back to um a previous conversation we had a long time ago about me never having seen a Blu-ray movie and friend of the show Nick lent me a couple of Blu-ray movies to watch which I haven't yet watched because the effort of somehow connect plugging turning it on and putting a disc in. It hasn't hasn't yet got to that point. I need to do it. Well look, for me, I don't want to get into the whole thing of collecting masses of physical media again. I'm very happy even with my like DRM digital library of Apple TV slash iTunes stuff. But the fact that now it's just a bit easier to play I know you don't like that, Jason. The fact that I can now play all of the DVDs that I've kept much more easily, you know, like the old days, and now I have a way to actually collect a few things on Blu-ray or you know, HD stuff that actually matters to me, I'm happy to do that. So it's a good setup, I think, and easy to do, Andrew. I'll get it. So Nick, if you're wondering where those are, they're still here. I can see them in my eyesight right now, so they're safe. I would bet Nick probably ripped those to a respectable playable medium already and just said, Whatever, Andrew, here you go, have 'em. I don't think he cares. He was happy you wanted him. He's like, yes, out of my house. So next up, uh I have a double counter chat and I promise not to take forever, but I thought I have to bring these up on the show. Double. A double counter chat. As in there were two instances of counter chat that I now wish to bring up on the show. Okay. And these were two separate instances? Or two instances simultaneously? Two separate instances of different uh different shops, right? And I bring them up because they weren't awkward things or embarrassing things. They were just things that inflated my ego or made me feel good about myself or pandered to my interests. So now you have to hear it on the show. Nice. Oh boy. The first instance was at a cafe that we like to go to called Xander's and uh Fiona. Shout out to Fiona, she's a wonderful barista who works there. Probably the most positive person I've ever met at a cafe. Whenever I ask her how she is, she genuinely responds with amazing. And I'm sure that if Jason visited he'd be like, what kind of Australian is this? Normally I just deal with two grumpy ones on a podcast and she's like genuinely just happy to be alive and working at the cafe. Good on you, Fiona. Yeah, well it's Fiona at Zanders. And uh my respect for her increased exponentially when uh how did it come up? Now I'm forgetting that part. Oh that's right, the matrix came up in conversation, and I did not bring it up with another barista, someone else did. Oh yeah, something I think it made a reference to a glitch in the matrix or something. Went on from there, and then I found out she loves it so much that she does like a marathon annually. Oh boy. Now of ev just every single one back to back and one sitting or Well that's the way it seemed to me. At the very least she's watching one, but then she's going through like now three and then four, I think since it came out in twenty twenty one. So it's like, wow, not only do I like the coffee here and everyone's positivity and willingness to joke around, but also we've got someone here who does a matrix marathon annually. Fantastic. And on top of that, she's like, yeah, walking around Sydney, I'd love to see all the places where they actually did stuff in the film and she made a couple of references and I'm like, what is going on here? Normally it's just me bringing up this franchise and no one wants to hear it, but you're actually doing it for me. So massive shout-out. Kudos to Fiona for bringing up the Matrix franchise at Xanders. Does Fiona also incorporate Enter the Matrix the game in between this run to really have the full continuity of the film? That is a great question, and Jason, I'm happy you asked that. I don't know at this point, and I'm not sure if she features the animatrix in that, but I am willing to forgive a cinematic focus in this particular instance. You could ask just because you could throw it out there next time, like enter the matrix question mark. You just to see Yeah. And I'll ask if she plays both the ghost and niobi narrative streams. Yeah, I mean it it's only appropriate that you would do both. Jason, do you think in in a little bit more time it's gonna be couch chat? Because Martin has invited Fiona over and they're just watching the Matrix together. Oh every chillin' year it's a yearly thing. There's gonna be a special day for this Matrix Day. There probably is a Matrix Day. I don't what day that is. Apologies. Every day. Every day. There seems to be a day for everything now, so I would not be surprised She's a very tolerant, you know, partner. She she has it retained and sat through a lot of matrix material,. so So you know, number one respect goes to her. Fiona's just an addition in our general community now who happens to uh want to talk to me about it. But the second instance, because I know we've got more things in the show notes here, was uh I went to Chicos recently, which I think has come up on the show before, but if not, it's a a chicken shop. Is that where you get the Chico roll within Wollongong? Oh I love a Chico Roll. Uh Chico rolls well this is a great point because the Chico roll, Chico is spelled C H I K O and Chick O's is C K O apostrophe S. Whoa And it's one of those weird kind of suggestions where like you know when you see the logo of a chicken shop and it's a chicken, but in this case it's a headless like it's just a chicken head smiling with a chef's hat on. I'm like, So you've been disembodied and now you're cooking your own kind. So it's kind of twisted. That's the most Australian thing ever to say. It's Chico, which is already like short. You're like, you know what? Let's just take out like three quarters of the letters. Let's just call it CK. What the hell? Like that's that's just perfect for you guys. But this is so no, they didn't Chico roll, and I'm not even sure if they sell them. Chico, it's like a separate trademark. Chico's in this case, they are super efficient. Is that possible? Good luck with that. Um Yeah, so Chico's is an efficient uh chicken shop institution and during COVID they did the whole, okay, now we're gonna put kiosks and stuff in, but they still have the hybrid ordering system. I don't really like doing kiosks. They take longer I think. You know that whole thing. You you like them or you don't like them. And when I went there ordering like a family dinner because we were having dinner with extended family, I went there and I had to do family packs and stuff. But the problem is that they had some items visible on the menus above the counter and some items only visible on the digital kiosk screens. So I was walking up towards the counter and made eye contact with I think who one of the guys who's the owners of the shop, but then I was like, oh, and then I had to go and check on the digital kiosk, and then I came back and I said, sorry if you thought that was a bit weird that I moved away for a sec. I just wanted to check something was only on the menu there. I'd much prefer to actually talk to you to do the order. The reaction I received at this point was, God bless you. Thank you for supporting our jobs. And he reached out over the counter and shook my hand. I got a God bless you. Right. And then there's back and forth. I'm doing the ordering. And he's so absolutely chuffed and said, thank you so much. God bless you again. So I got blessed like two or three times at chicken by the chicken proprietor. I'm basically a Chico's saint. Yeah. I'm a saint of the chicken shop. Did you get an extra did you get an extra chicken leg? No, I didn't, no. Which is um I I I I don't think sainthood comes with chicken benefits. I've got a real craving to go visit Bruce at the fish and chip shop now and uh and get some chip. Try to fix that uh fix that handshake issue. Well that's why I want to bring it up because I got a handshake and was blessed. So that's next level. That's impressive. I just really want a chick-o roll. That's what I'm trying to think of. That sounds like something I would enjoy. And that's it for my double camera. Sounds hate a good. chicken I feel like I would. No, you would hate a chicken roll. Really? They sound good. No, they're not. They're only good if they're only good if you've been in Australia a long time. It's like a fried tube of we don't know what. What's the tube what's the tube part? Is it like uh like a is it like a tortilla or is it like a breading? Like what's the It depends it depends how long it's been in the Bay Marie thing? Like, cause they fry them up and then they sit there waiting to be sold. Are they pillows when you're fresh or what nah it just sits in it, just sits in a little hot cabinet. Okay. Doing the whole Dr. Nick Riviera, you know, how transparent can we make the paper thing? Hmm. Um but what is it? It's it's kind of it's a crumb. It's a crumb. It's a crumb. I have the definition. I have read this before, but here we go. The Chicko roll, this is according to Wikipedia, is an Australian savory snack invented by Frank McEnroe, inspired by the Chinese spring roll and first sold in nineteen fifty one as the chicken roll, despite not actually containing chicken. Oh, as soon as they call it the design roll there like that easily eaten on the move. Chicken roll. This is the selling point. It was designed to be easily eaten on the move without a plate or cutlery. Um its primary filling, that's right, is cabbage and barley, as well as carrot, green beans, beef, beef, tallow, wheat, cereal, celery, and onion. Wait. The filling partially pulped and enclosed in a thick no there's no chicken. It's vegetarian. Vegetarian dish. But to answer your question, other than that, beef bummer, I it's uh enclosed in a thick egg and flour pastry tube. I even use the word tube and it says tube here. I am beside myself. I It's tremendous And what's the the best part is when you the very end imagine the tube. Imagine well let me get let me finish this. Imagine the tube. So it's deep fried. So each end of the tube is the filling that has been deep fried. So it has a slightly different crispy texture that is because of the deep frying. Because it escaped the tube and kind of like made contact. Correct. Correct. So then that first first and last bites are always a bit of a treat. What you what you do is you you can dip, but these days the way they provide the source, Australian sauce packets, you have to have tomato sauce with these things, by the way. Australian tomato sauce packets are squeezable. Yeah. I think we've talked about this before as well, where you just have to squeeze them in the w I don't know if the US have embraced this technology, but it's incredible. You pinch and squeeze, and the source jets out the middle of the little plastic package. Yep. So you don't remove the lid or anything, you just literally squeeze and apply pressure and it jets out. So what you need to do is just jet a little bit of sauce on every bite. And if you're an expert Chico Roll person, you will end up with zero sauce and zero chico roll at the same time. It kind of sounds like all your foods are the same? Because this sounds exactly like how you do a meat pie. This is the same description as a meat pie. Like nothing changed in that description at the end of the source distribution. Yeah, just make pause just down from time case. It's just thing in hand jetting tomato sauce m mechanism and make sure they're both gone at the same time. That seems like the rule Okay. I'm still on board by the way. Anyway, if you ever eventually visit this country, Jason, you can you can tell us 'cause I feel that way, although I love Mexican or Tex Mex food, right? It's like, wait a minute, is every item on this menu just a different shape of the same thing? Or like pasta, where it's like there's all these shapes, but why? Oh, you're opening up a whole, you know, different kind of politics there because there are the arguments, right, that the shape of the pasta determines. I mean people make up bullshit all the time. I totally understand that, but like it's all the same thing. It's the same ingredients coming out of the same thing. It's the same. We're twenty minutes in and we are so far we are so far off our agenda. Alright, well rapid fire. You know what? That's what happens. We've covered t to tomato sauce. We've covered pasta shapes that are irrelevant. I think we've covered some ground deer so far. And all nestled in a multi blue blu-ray, you know, kind of So shape. if you've got it all so many regions. What could you possibly? Apparently there's a game that's related to all this as well. What's the game related to our conversation? Good segue, Andrew, back on topic. Good job. Thank you. Um, I saw counter chat and I realized that I had just finished a game that is literally counter chat, but as a game. It's like counter chat simulator. So I think I've done my part. It's called in Konbini. You run a uh Konbini in Japan, and you stock the shelves, you make sure everything's set up, you talk to customers, you run the shop. It's incredible. It was the most just pleasant game to play. And just be in charge of uh night shift talking to people randomly about whatever. So counter chat, check, I'm done. I've done it, and I did absolutely ignore customers to go outside and get um capsule balls instead at one point, but that's okay. I think it's okay. They didn't really mind too much. It's a good game though. I really I highly recommend it for uh people that are into just kind of casual fun escape games. Escape encounter chat is what you mean. Yes. So which platform is making you the least mad, Jason? Um na is neither an answer? Yeah? I'm just not going on what you've written here. Oh I'm seeing iOS and Android. Yes. There's what we'll call paper cuts on every platform. Little cut here, little nick there, you're like, ooh, ah, ah, that's okay. I'm gonna look past it. Well last week I had I guess a perfect storm of just paper cut after paper cut after paper cut with my uh telephonic device and I got really, really mad, so I ordered one of the other telephonic devices to uh see what that was all about. So now I've got both telephonic devices and they're both basically bad and it's super annoying that that's the only choice I have. It's like one one bad versus the other bad. But I'm back on the other bad now, so I guess you're welcome. Sorry, what's the other bad? I'm losing track. This one. Yeah, back to iOS. Oh is that an iPhone Air? Is that anything? This is a this is an iPhone Air. Oh, this is a bombshell. We didn't know about this. I've never, yeah, I've never seen one of these in the wild. I've never seen a single person carrying one of those things. It's great. It's a really nice uh piece of thing. It it gives me really, really big nostalgia for the iPhone X. It it feels very iPhone 10, because it's the first time where they've like actually changed something in over 25 years. And it's got the metal sides, and it's very like thin and light and and just nice to hold. So yeah, it's good. It's uh you know it's it's iOS, which I now that I I so I've been using Android for two years now and coming back to this. Wow, that long wow, it is just really it's just got kid gloves on, like nobody's business. It is so incredibly just bubbly and safe. It's like annoyingly safe. All the things that I loved on the other one where I could just be like, oh, I want to make a thing for that. Okay, just do that. And then my device does what I want. The iPhone could not be further from the Mac. But it's the only thing that really works with a Mac. Like trying to use an Android phone with a Mac is just you can do it, but it's not fun. It's not enjoyable. It's just agony around every corner. And like I did it because I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna live through the pain and do it. But yeah. The Mac is what I love. It is my device of choice. So therefore I have to probably have a thing that works with it. So I'm back on this. We'll see how it goes. I don't know. I I'm not loving it. I'm using the new whatever new D glassified version. It's still pretty ugly, but here we are. So we're back baby This is this is this is quite you you're downplaying it, but this is quite massive because you had washed your hands of iOS. I did. I know. It's just there was again, it was just it was a it was a week where I I needed to get things done and I was unable to get them done when I was away from my house and it was just I it was too much. It was I need I needed a file, I couldn't get to the file, and then I couldn't pull up I couldn't get to the any of my stuff at my house because I didn't have the right things connected and it was just like nope, I need to get things done. Martin, do you like do you like do you like Jason's approach? Like I don't know about you, but I've never I've never sort of thought I need a file and then go and spend two thousand dollars at the Apple store. I like the way Jason is so cavalier about this, you know. He needed that file. He could've gone home to get the file, but no. He's just gonna buy a phone. Yeah, look, I mean the the two thousand part, sure, but I can totally relate to the whole file access thing because I just came back from work travel like in New Zealand and there have been other trips that I've had to take for work, you know, where we do video and and and photo shoot stuff, which is good fun. But we rely heavily on access to files, you know, for media projects and stuff. And if I were in Jason's position, I would have like a brain explosion. So I understand. Yes, it's comical, but it I understand. Jason is showing us a really, really close up profile of the iPhone Air. It is really light. I I will say it's it's it's very nice hardware. I still think the camera button's stupid. I tried that at Officeworks once when I went past that first iPhone that had it, I think the previous generation, and I went, I know Apple, you're trying to make something ergonomic and, you know, photographic, you know, for people who like that, but I I didn't like it. It was too finicky and virtual to really be like a proper dial or button. Great idea and cool kind of design, but practically no. It should just be a generic button like the whatever that other button's called, the smart button or whatever the hell they call it now. Because now I've got I think four different ways to access the camera from when I'm looking at it? Like, why? I've got the button, there's a the button on the screen, I can swipe over, I can action button. I don't why do I need that? I don't know. It seems a little bit much I don't know. But I have one. So it's good that you brought up the whole beta thing because I can see, Andrew, you've got a topic that relates to this. Should we jump to that one? Sure, we can. Oh, what do you got, Andrew? Are you running beta? Well, you know, you know me, I'm not usually a beta g beta, beta, you're beta. You're not generally in the in the the bleeding edge kind of arena. Can't be bothered. I they don't pay me enough money to do their testing for them. I don't typically do that. But do they pay you any money? They pay me no money. Oh, it's like wait, what is the goat on? So the question here is uh this c I put this on last night. Can I be bothered installing a beta on my iPad? Thinking that the iPad is the disposable object. I'm not gonna mess with my Mac, not gonna mess with my phone, need both of those for work and stuff. You are editing this episode by the way. Oh my oh yeah that's the only reason I really need good point. I think what he's saying is no you probably don't want to be running the beta. So so the question so the question can after this week sure. Can I be bothered installing a beta? Well last night I could be bothered and I did crap. Oh no. Oh good. I'm glad. I didn't think about the editing fact. Oh, geez. Alright. I guess I can pull out my old iPad Pro from a few years ago and that might still be able to do the trick. Um I'm sure it'll be fine. Use the new one. After three and a half hours you've edited it, export problem with the uh export. Sorry, iOS twenty seven doesn't support that file type. I'm not doing three edits in a row. Um the reason I installed because I thought now this is something uh not being a beta guy, I thought public beaters were now available. You didn't have to be a developer, but when I went to the changing the the downloads thing. It still just said iOS twenty seven developer beta. And I'm like, eh, that must be it, because there's no public beta option. No, there's a public beta now. There wasn't on my f mine last night. Uh oh. So uh so I might be running the What a great topic. That ended quickly, didn't it? Public yeah, mine did have that. Mine had public I could get the iOS twenty-seven developer beta or the twenty iOS twenty-six and I'm like, well I don't want twenty six and that were the two that were the two options so maybe I'll check it again now that I've got the developer one, maybe I can get the public one. I don't know. I don't know, maybe who knows? Weird. But so I'm running a developer. I guess it's a moot point though because no one's gonna hear this episode. Can I say though? I say and I enrolled in the new series. I got approved into the I knew there was a wait list for that. Oh no. My wait list was like two minutes. That's how long it took for them to I'm not surprised because I don't care. And I jumped into and you know what? The first question I asked it, I was impressed. I was impressed. I was like, wow, this is actually kinda useful. It's just Gemini. Of course it's gonna work. It works exactly the same as Gemini. Why is everyone so surprised that it works? You took a thing that already worked, got Siri on it, and it still does the same thing. Of course it works. What is so surprising? The Siri brand should be the curse of death, right? You should be like, it's now garbage. It is called Siri, therefore it is useless. And it actually wasn't. Oh my god, the internet is losing a reminder for this and I don't understand it. I couldn't think of anything else to ask it after that. I was like, oh cool. Well I guess it works. I've got no more questions to ask. And you probably never will again. Well anyway, we'll see if an episode comes out based on that. And I don't know why, like, just for everyone who's listening, uh, the notes actually say basketball, can I be bothered installing a beater on my iPad? You already did. Definitively the answer is yes. I can be bothered. Yes, so you can be bothered. What a great topic. Thank you. Well done, Andrew. There are a few things he can be bothered with, but this is one of them. The next one, should I change blogging platforms? Ta-da, he already did. He already did. Twice. I I I haven't yet, but I'm I've got that itch, but I'm not sure I can be bothered. Ironically. Oh I don't know. I've heard I've heard tale that you can indeed be bothered. You're bothered enough to be bothered. I don't know. I I probably won't. I've been on micro.blog for years and it's all working and ticking along, but I've got the Yeah, but we all know that you love it when you can break things down. I know. And I'm reminded I was thinking of everybody seems to be using Pika these days, and I was like, maybe Pika is the option for me. And then there's the Omgol option. Ask Jason and he said don't use Omgol until the new version comes out. Yeah. So okay, that's good. Could use Pika. But then I remembered as well. I used to use Blot. Do you remember Blot? It's like take a folder of files. Sure. I used to use blot. But then I but then blot doesn't have anything else. Like it's just folder of files, and that could be annoying. And then the bear blog, you could use that. Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. Oh you could use ghosts and you could you could drive engagement. Oh that could be good. Yeah, I can monetize. Yeah. Oh if you want monetization, you should go for substack. I've heard that's epically robust. That's a great way. Surefire way to achieve success. Yeah. I've enjoyed community plugins and extensions so much in Obsidian. Maybe I could use WordPress and I'd just go back into the community plugin. Oh, WordPress. Nothing would make you happier than running WordPress. I am not using WordPress. WordPress I'll be better off you're running movable type. I'd prefer that to WordPress. So I guess on the on I'm probably not going to do anything, but I'm just exploring options. Okay. This is a great topic because we're just listing blogging services at this point. It's just a bullet point list. Jason, do you have any more to add before we move on? Probably if like fifty more, but that's a Oh right that's you could use that one. That's another one you could use. Martin just shit can my topic entirely, but he's actually actually completely accurate, so I can't hold it against him. Yeah, but it's our job. People listen to this show so that we shit can each other. If you said, should I move blogging platforms? And we went, Andrew, what a wonderful question. Let us walk through how you do that. Let's be really helpful and collaborative. People would go, these people are freaks, and then they'd then unsubscribe. You know what? At least I need to show at least I published to my blog, Martin. Oh. Wow, that cut really deep, and I'm so upset with you. It's true, it's a uh it's a desert. It's a desert. And it shall stay that way to create suspense. That's how it always goes. It's always feast or famine. You're either doing like one every day for a week straight or you're doing nothing for three and a half years. That's just how it goes. That's the way it works. Alright, that's it. But if I want a blog, maybe I can use a new font. And if you want a legible font, you can look at the Lexend. I'd never come across this font before. Fine fine folks at Lexend. Yes. I've just installed it today, actually. Um and I I'm in this strange world where I'm like, okay, I've installed a font. Now where the hell can I actually use it? Because I don't know, it seems like fonts, where do you install every everything has its own opinionated font these days. So what am I to do? Yeah, I mean I've I've done all that. It's in font book. That's all okay. Right. But then, you know, if you all these modern notes apps, they've all just got their own take on fonts. And many of them have kind of limited selections. Most of them have the wrong selection too. Hmm. Yeah, it's like do you want Avenue next? No, I don't. Um so maybe I'm gonna have to start firing up Word to do my note taking so I can use the legs end font. Word. The idea of it is the idea of the highly legible and they say it's better than Times New Roman. I would argue that anything's better than Times New Roman, so you probably don't want to compare against that. But um I was intrigued. And I love a new f I love a font and I love a free font. Have you have you thought about using maybe letter A? Maybe you could use it there. Oh, maybe I could use letter A. I've still got it in my doc. Um, that's in your doc? Why? But I like that he's still that he's forgot it. It's like oh yeah, I could use that one even though it's staring at me like that. It's like it's literally I think it's okay. Hold stop everything. Stop everything. What's in your doc right now? Left to right. Go. Jeez, really? Yep. Rapid fire. It's gonna take at least forty five minutes. Okay. Finder, messages, fast mail, safari, Vivaldi, Signal, Busy Cal, Photos, Music, Omnifocus, Devon Think, Preview, Drafts, Letterer, Notes, Omni Outliner, Agenda, The Brain, Mars Edit, news, Claude, passwords. Oh my god. How does it fit? It's pretty small. It's pretty small. Do you have anything like stacks or the bin slash truck permanent row? And then after that it you have the little breaky thing, audio hijack, levelator, micro dot blog. Oh you do that recommended apps thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh god. Um then I've got another little dividey thing and I've got downloads bean. It's called Bean in Australia, not trash. Oh my goodness. And then okay, Martin, you go now. I know it just says finder and that's it. Okay, thank you. Page's number keynote. Stocks. No, um, I have uh finder tot safari ivory current messages, mail, calendar, preview, pages, IA writer, music, pixelmater pro, photos, permute for, quick time, and final cut pro, followed by a particular documents, um Preview in the doc because you have something open with preview or because you literally have preview in the doc? PDFs, particularly for like thesis stuff that I don't like having to like I just like having it in the same consistent spot to click on it or bring up the app. So yeah. I use it all the time. And I use it a lot for general stuff like screenshots or thumbnails for social media with work. So it's just good to have it there all the time. But no letter A. No, no. Okay. I do not. What do you have, Jason? Uh I've got Finder Screens Vivaldi BusyCal Fastmail Cheery Obsidian Signal Ivory, code Runner, plexamp, prompt, and then the stuff that's open for this, audio hijack and uh the thingy for my m audio interface. Yours is like a real developer's. It's a real developer's doc. You know, you're like the com real computer nerd screens. Oh, and then the bar. I have the bar. Sorry, I have the bar and then I have my downloads folder as a like whoop. One of those things that goes whoop that opens up. I hate that and then I have applications that goes whoop because that's how I open applications because I'm a weirdo. That is a weird way of doing it. That's all right. I have to say, I don't know if you do this sort of thing with work computers or something, but my work doc is essentially exactly the same except that I think it includes DXO Photo Lab in there. So mine's very like photo video centric 'cause that's what I do. Hmm. That makes sense. Mine's very PKM note taking. Yes. Never would have seen that going. Lot of lot of peak of surprise on there. Okay, I'm sorry I took us off track. I just had to know. No, that was that was excellent. That's all right. Well we're gonna do rapid fire because I've got to go grocery shopping. I don't know about you. And Jason, you have to go to bed. It's not always midnight. Uh it's eleven forty-five PM Saturday, July eighteenth, twenty twenty-six. Jeez. I'm holding up the newspaper to prove Planet Earth. Stays awake all night just to re talk to us idiots. It's beautiful. I love it. Thank you. Oh wow, rapid fire are all mine. Um there's two new this is a PSA. You already ticked that you're sleepy, that's it. This is a PSA. Um tick. There are two new GIF bots on Mastodon now as of yesterday. So enjoy. What are they? Really? Yep. Let me find out. You can check the uh the slash bots on my internet website for that. I will. Absolutely. Have a look right now while you speak. And I'll try to type on my uh mini tactile pro really quietly. Hang on, now are you are you vert.io or grep.sh? I still don't know. Why can't you remember this? It's grepjason.sh. It's screpjason.sh for years. And he's got that cute little bird that flies around his screen. I love it. The little cute bird with the love with the love heart. My email my email is is Burke.io. This is what throws me. You your your whole information architecture is out of whack. If you went to Burke.io, it will forward you where you need to be also. I've taken care of that. Well that probably throws me even more because I internalize it. Well you don't need to. I've taken care of it for you. Slash boss. I'm here for you. Um yeah, so those are those are there. And then the last thing we're going back to to photography corner. Oh that's a good one. That's a good is that new? Which is the new one? Which or which are you are you like is is the newer ones down the page? Yes. Or at the top of the page. I think down the page. Under construction, that's cool. Can we say what they are? I mean it's publicly. They're all there. The two new ones are War Games and The Breakfast Club. The Breakfast Club. That's what I'm cool. And you got 2001 Beetlejuice and Rear Window. Look at that. Very nice. I love that you can be bothered. Like if we wrote can Jason be bothered, like Andrew does, I would be like, Yes. Before you even know what it is, you'll do it. You can be bothered. Before photography corner, real quick, also announcement. The trophies are being delivered as we speak for June Bree. I s I I every year send them out so they are arrive in the order of first place to third place. So first place has received their trophy, second place will be receiving their second, and third place will be receiving their third. That's how that works. Well done. So those are in the mail, ready to go. As we said, Jasonon Jas can be bothered. I can be. I'm very bothered by a lot. And then finally photography corner. Um maybe you've heard of it, maybe you haven't, the God C100. Does that mean anything to either of you? Are we talking about like uh a flash? Is that what that is? No. What is that thing? Oh cool. It's a game. It's this little thing. It's this I forgot the name of it. It is a little pocketable thing. The viewfinder is basically clear, so you there's no screen, and it just takes photos based on this like viewfinder that's clear. It's hard to describe. Yeah, so it's like a little transparent viewfinder camera. Do you remember the tiger handheld electronic like the little the games, the tiger ones? You remember those where it was like all the pieces were on the screen and they would just kind of light up where they needed to be? I don't know if you It's kind of like for people who can't see this or or haven't searched it, it kind of looks like an iPod, right? It's white, it's got this little uh top half transparent screen thing, but the bottom rather than a click wheel almost has like a home button instead. Yes, exactly. And there's no screen. You have no idea what you're taking a picture of. But it's it's and the quality is absolute shit. It's awful. It's real bad. It's super bad, but it's it's fun. It's still fun. It's like quality be damned. It's a f it's a fun device to just take out and it's almost it's kind of akin to a Polaroid in a way, but you don't get the photo right away. You have to go back home and get it. So it's kind of like that. Have you got a sample? Is there a sample image that that you've taken that I can look at? I will post I will I will include some sample images here and I will send you guys some after we're done recording here. They are terrible. But again, fun. So they'll be on glass or flicker or something? Where have you put stuff in? I don't think I will waste bandwidth on glass for that, but uh I will put them somewhere. Alright, alright. I'll put them somewhere. Fair enough. It the most annoying part is it it stuck thinking that it's January 1st for some reason, and there's no way to change it. Jeez. Sounds amazing. So they all show up on January 1st. But the the thought of it, I think, is really cool. I think this idea could be taken to a level that's actually good quality and like a quality camera. Because I love the intention of taking a photo by actually seeing what you're taking a photo of. It's a enlarged range finder basically and you just take photos and that's it you don't have to worry about what you took just take it and go so go docs c100 i'm not recommending people buy one unless you really just want a weird little quirky camera and some people are like that raising my hand but yeah there you go go dox c100 take a look at it the video the the online stuff is pretty neat just to kind of see what it is and and understand the what I think was the goal of it. Now since we're in Photography Corner, I just need to ask you another question. Since I've been in the should I, should I and can I be bothered, um should I purchase a subscription to glass. This would be the third time that you've tried it, so I'm gonna say no. But I took a photo today. I took a photo today and I wanted to share it and I was like, ah no I share it to? And I was like, oh you know, like remember when Instagram was a place where you'd share photos? You still can, yeah. Yeah, nobody does. Um so I was like, oh I guess I have to put it on my blog, but it felt weird. I felt like it's And who knows what that blog is, right? I know. So Am I right? I'm like, should I should I be on glass so I can share my photo that nobody cares about? I would welcome you back. It would be nice to have you, but don't consider that peer pressure. It's fine. You can send it as a message. I listened to an episode of three by two recently where there was a lot of reviews of glass sourced photography. And I really liked it, especially that beach one guys. Nice, nice job. That beach one with the spoon. Yeah. I mean I didn't, but yeah. That was a shot. That was good. And that spooky one, that spooky that spooky what's it called? The door or whatever? Don't go in there, the town? Yeah. Yeah. The roadgy road. Yeah, I don't know. Oh man, that that was a good episode, guys. If you're if you're not putting your photos on glass, like are you even taking photos? Well, I that's what I'm wondering. I'm kidding. Just give it a go. I'm kidding. Please, no one take that as serious. Like, put your photos wherever the hell you want. I think right now in the today's July 18th slash July 19th landscape. Glass is the only place that still feels like it's for photos. It's not perfect by any stretch. I'm not here to say it's like the you know, the perfect photo platform, but it's the only place that truly feels like it is for photos first and not just dumping here's my 900 photos from my family vacation. Like it's not that. People do that. Yeah. It doesn't really work for that, I don't think. But if you just want to like, hey, this was a cool one. I'm really proud of this for whatever reason. I think it's kind of the best place to do it. And not to mention if you're really big on things like X XIF data or having series or looking at which photos were taken which with whichever lens, like you said, Jason, all that kind of cool stuff is there because it's very photocentric, but you can totally ignore it. If you just want to look at a cool feed of like scrolling photos that is chronological and not algorithmic, all that stuff stays out of the way unless you choose to interact with it. So it feels minimal in the case. If you use Rob's Echo feed, then you can just like have it automatically go to like Mastodon in a nice way where it has the nice photo available to see, it has the link and all that. So that works super well too. So not to mention it works with RSS. So if you wanted to follow Jason's photos in your RSS reader of choice and no one else, you could do that. Even as a non-glass user. Yeah, I I I really think they're doing it. They're they're the only ones I think doing it well right now. In my in my opinion. Okay. Well, if I get back on it, I am Bat Canyon. We'll find out. I reckon he'll have made a decision to maybe be back on it before this episode even gets edited and goes out. So let's find out in the future. Future version. Oh yep, there he is, he just signed up. Now Andrew, you broke a rule of almost six years on this show by counting us down to start. I do break the rule to end it. Felt very uncomfortable. I can't do it. Alright, well then I guess I guess we'll just go with the old uh nope, we gotta wait a little bit. Gotta wait a little bit. Gotta wait, gotta wait, gotta wait, gotta wait, just a little bit. A little bit more. Just waiting. A little bit almost there. I don't know. Gotta wait. Gotta wait, gotta wait, gotta wait just a little bit. A little bit more. Just waiting. A little bit waiting. I don't know. Gotta wait. Gotta wait just a little bit. A little bit more. Just waiting. A little bit more. I don't know. Three, two, one, stop.
