  Speaker 2: Paul shared the gospel and why some people believed why
• 3:28
  Speaker 2: while other people were rejected. So it also teaches us
• 3:36
  Speaker 2: something powerful about using the scripture to defend the faith.

  Speaker 2: one and it says, now when they had passed through Amphilias,

  Speaker 2: Now just look at this. Paul often begins ministring in

  Speaker 2: Jewish synegods because the people there, they already believe in

  Speaker 2: the Old Testament scriptures. So this gives Paul a foundation
• 5:39
  Speaker 2: to explain that Jesus fulfilled the prophecies of the Messiah. Now,

  Speaker 2: Paul was strategic when he did this. He went where
• 5:50
  Speaker 2: people already believed in the authority of the scripture. Now
• 5:55
  Speaker 2: we need to take note when we go out to evangelize.

  Speaker 2: Right now, this reminds us that evangelism. Evangelism often begins
• 6:04
  Speaker 2: by finding common ground. I remember when I was witnessing,
• 6:10
  Speaker 2: when I was working in my early twenties at the
• 6:13
  Speaker 2: Horseshoe Hotel and Casino here in Vegas, and me and
• 6:17
  Speaker 2: my brother Mike Bunk guard Man, we connected together at work.
• 6:21
  Speaker 2: This brother had his Bible at work, sharing scriptures, sharing
• 6:26
  Speaker 2: the word, and we both had it hard to evangelize,
• 6:30
  Speaker 2: and we would go around and talk to people, witnessing
• 6:34
  Speaker 2: people about the Word. And sometimes when we were supposed
• 6:37
  Speaker 2: to be working, you know, we're just talking about the Word.
• 6:39
  Speaker 2: We had scriptures written down to memorize, scriptures on our
• 6:43
  Speaker 2: equipment and stuff like that. I mean, that was a
• 6:46
  Speaker 2: beautiful time of revival. And I remember one day in
• 6:50
  Speaker 2: a lunch room, you know, I met my brother Sean
• 6:55
  Speaker 2: Rubinstein and I just we were just talking about aliens.
• 7:01
  Speaker 2: He was saying something about aliens, and I was able
• 7:04
  Speaker 2: to use that to witness to him about Christ and
• 7:07
  Speaker 2: he believed got converted, started coming to church. He was faithful,
• 7:11
  Speaker 2: a faithful brother for years. And so just using that
• 7:15
  Speaker 2: common ground sometimes you know what are people into and
• 7:19
  Speaker 2: try to grab them from there and bring them to
• 7:22
  Speaker 2: the gospel. See, Paul wasn't randomly preaching in the synagogue.
• 7:27
  Speaker 2: He was intentionally going where the gospel conversion could begin. Amen,

  Speaker 2: Now let me ask you, well, actually, let's go to

  Speaker 2: verse two. Then Paul as his customers went in to
• 7:45
  Speaker 2: them and for three Sabbath reasons, reasoned with them from
• 7:52
  Speaker 2: the scripture. Oh, I forgot to tell you, I might
• 7:55
  Speaker 2: be stumbling a little bit today, Man, I had injured myself. Well,

  Speaker 2: I thought I injured myself yesterday. I hit the gym

  Speaker 2: before I go to work, and you know, about five am.

  Speaker 2: You know, I'm in the gym and I was benching
• 8:15
  Speaker 2: and ain't good goodness, it was only ninety pounds, but
• 8:18
  Speaker 2: as I was benching, the weight fell out my hands
• 8:22
  Speaker 2: sometimes somehow it was real fast. It just it just
• 8:25
  Speaker 2: got knocked out my hand and they hit my chest
• 8:28
  Speaker 2: and I quickly put it back up. But man, my
• 8:31
  Speaker 2: chest has been sore, So pray for me, y'all. I
• 8:35
  Speaker 2: went to that urgent care and they, you know, took
• 8:39
  Speaker 2: the X rays and stuff, so nothing is broken, nothing
• 8:42
  Speaker 2: got fractured. Praise got but it's just hurts. So I'm
• 8:46
  Speaker 2: taking muscle relaxes right now. I know it's embarrassing, it's crazy.

  Speaker 2: I'm like, what in the world I did a video
• 8:52
  Speaker 2: on YouTube? Like, man, I don't even know how that happened,

  Speaker 2: Like the enemies defeated, you know what I mean? Or

  Speaker 2: bear with me as we get through the podcast today,

  Speaker 2: and you know, send some prayers my way. So all right,

  Speaker 2: where was I Verse two? Then Paul, as his custom was,

  Speaker 2: went into them, and for three Sabbath sabbaths reasoned with
• 9:20
  Speaker 2: them from the scripture. Now, Paul didn't just preach emotionally, right,

  Speaker 2: he reasoned with them from the scripture. Now, you see

  Speaker 2: it right here in the Word of God. This is
• 9:37
  Speaker 2: what we do on this podcast, verse by verse, chapter
• 9:41
  Speaker 2: by chapter. All people want to know is what did
• 9:43
  Speaker 2: God say? They don't need all the hype, all the fluff.
• 9:47
  Speaker 2: You don't need to hear all of my opinions and
• 9:50
  Speaker 2: then all this and any other. What you need to
• 9:53
  Speaker 2: hear is the word of God. Now, sometimes I'll give
• 9:56
  Speaker 2: you my opinion and I'll let you know, and I'll
• 9:59
  Speaker 2: share a life stories when it's irrelevant to the study.

  Speaker 2: But for the most part, we just want to know
• 10:07
  Speaker 2: what did God say? Right? And so this is Paul,
• 10:12
  Speaker 2: this is his method. He reasoned from the scriptures.
• 10:16
  Speaker 3: Now.

  Speaker 2: In other words, Paul used the Old Testament to logically
• 10:21
  Speaker 2: demonstrate that Jesus was the Messiah that is so beautiful
• 10:25
  Speaker 2: a man. Now, notice something powerful here. Paul didn't rely
• 10:31
  Speaker 2: on the hype of the synagogue or just being Jews, right.
• 10:35
  Speaker 2: He relied on the Word of God. Faith grows stronger
• 10:40
  Speaker 2: when it is rooted in Scripture, and when it's understood,
• 10:47
  Speaker 2: when we root our faith in the actual Word, and
• 10:50
  Speaker 2: that's what we do on here, and then we ask
• 10:54
  Speaker 2: God for the understanding. I try my best to break
• 10:58
  Speaker 2: it down in an understanding way, but only the Holy
• 11:01
  Speaker 2: Spirit can illuminate our hearts. Ay man, this shows us
• 11:06
  Speaker 2: that Christianity is not a blind faith like some people
• 11:11
  Speaker 2: accuse it. To me, it is truth supported by evidence
• 11:17
  Speaker 2: in the Word of God. Hallelujah. Let me say that again.

  Speaker 2: I'm speaking. This is my heart right here. This is truth,
• 11:27
  Speaker 2: and it is supported by evidence in the Word of God. Amen.

  Speaker 2: The truth, the faith that we believe beloved is supported.
• 11:38
  Speaker 2: Now verse three explaining and demonstrating that the Christ had
• 11:45
  Speaker 2: to suffer and raise again from the dead. In saying this, Jesus,
• 11:51
  Speaker 2: whom I preach to you, is the Christ. I love it,
• 11:57
  Speaker 2: Paul likely used the passages such as Isaiah fifty three,
• 12:03
  Speaker 2: write this down, Psalms twenty two, the Psalms sixteen. These
• 12:10
  Speaker 2: Old Testament.
• 12:11
  Speaker 4: Scriptures foretel the Messiah, and it explains how he would suffer,
• 12:21
  Speaker 4: how he would die, and how he would be raised again.
• 12:25
  Speaker 2: It's all about Jesus even in the Old Testament. So
• 12:30
  Speaker 2: if I were you, I would study those scriptures, get
• 12:34
  Speaker 2: those scriptures memorized. I'm gonna break you down and look
• 12:39
  Speaker 2: deeper in than myself. Amen. Now, many Jews expected a
• 12:46
  Speaker 2: conquering king when they were believing that the Messiah would return.
• 12:53
  Speaker 2: But they overlooked the prophecies about the suffering servant. You know,
• 12:59
  Speaker 2: that's the human nature. They don't want a suffering servant.
• 13:04
  Speaker 2: They want a victorious, conquering king. But Paul connected the dots.
• 13:12
  Speaker 2: He showed them that the Messiah had to suffer, and
• 13:18
  Speaker 2: he had to die, and that he had to be
• 13:24
  Speaker 2: raised again back unto life. And then Paul made the
• 13:32
  Speaker 2: bold declaration, Jesus is the Christ. That's the T shirt
• 13:38
  Speaker 2: right there. Jesus is the Christ that is the heart
• 13:46
  Speaker 2: of the gospel. Jesus is not just a teacher. He
• 13:51
  Speaker 2: is the promised Messiah. Hallelujah. You must call upon the
• 14:00
  Speaker 2: name of the Lord to be saved verse four. And
• 14:06
  Speaker 2: some of them were persuaded. In a great multitude of
• 14:11
  Speaker 2: the devout Greeks, and not a few of the leading
• 14:15
  Speaker 2: women joined Paul in silence. Now check this out. The
• 14:24
  Speaker 2: gospel began spreading beyond the Jewish community. We see here
• 14:31
  Speaker 2: many Greek believers responded to Paul's message Hallelujah. This shows
• 14:39
  Speaker 2: that the gospel was beginning to impact multiple cultures in
• 14:44
  Speaker 2: society and classes. The rich and the poor were getting saved.
• 14:52
  Speaker 2: All races, all cultures responded to the gospel. Look at
• 14:56
  Speaker 2: how powerful the gospel is. This gospel can change the
• 15:00
  Speaker 2: whole world. That's why the world is threatened. The world's
• 15:04
  Speaker 2: system is threatened by the Gospel of Christ. So just
• 15:11
  Speaker 2: look at the results. Some people believed, others rejected the message.
• 15:18
  Speaker 2: This still happens today. Our only responsibility is not to
• 15:24
  Speaker 2: force people to believe. Our responsibility is to faithfully present
• 15:31
  Speaker 2: the truth. God himself will handle the transformation. He cannot
• 15:40
  Speaker 2: save anyone, He cannot force anyone to get saved, and
• 15:47
  Speaker 2: we cannot force anyone to believe in the Messiah Christ Jesus.

  Speaker 2: All we can do is stand for the truth and
• 16:00
  Speaker 2: pray for them and allow the Holy Spirit to penetrate
• 16:06
  Speaker 2: their hearts. Beloved, that reminds me that the battle belongs
• 16:10
  Speaker 2: to the Lord. All right, let's take it.

  Speaker 2: and confess our faults, confess our sins so that we
