Latest / FPL Pod / S7 Ep28: FPL Pod: Is this the week not to captain Salah?
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: A bonus FPL pod For a bonus midweek round, we
- 0:04Speaker 1: dissect the FA Cup fallout preview the week's big matches.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Sam continues her love of Pallace and none of us
- 0:10Speaker 1: are captain in Salah. Well, good morning everyone, Happy Monday.
- 0:19Speaker 1: It's the thirteenth of January. And I'm going to say
- 0:21Speaker 1: it because I feel like we are the real heroes
- 0:23Speaker 1: of this week. It's seven am and we are bringing
- 0:26Speaker 1: the FBL Ford to you. When I say we, I
- 0:28Speaker 1: do of course mean Kelly Summers alongside Sam Bonfield and
- 0:31Speaker 1: Julian Larron. We are here because, of course there is
- 0:33Speaker 1: another game week, game Week twenty one, which is a
- 0:35Speaker 1: midweek deadline this week six pm on Tuesday, the fourteenth January,
- 0:39Speaker 1: a full round of Premier League actions, so plenty for
- 0:43Speaker 1: us to get into. And actually, I think I'll come
- 0:46Speaker 1: to you first on this sum because we were both
- 0:47Speaker 1: a bit annoyed with our teams last week. It's actually
- 0:49Speaker 1: quite nice, isn't it to have had a weekend to
- 0:51Speaker 1: kind of simmer down, think about what we're going to
- 0:53Speaker 1: do and not be quite so angry going into a
- 0:55Speaker 1: new game week. Yeah, but I did find that I
- 0:58Speaker 1: was watching the FA Cup matches, thinking please don't get injured,
- 1:00Speaker 1: Please don't get injured, because I don't want to deal
- 1:02Speaker 1: with my FPL team with them mill in and one injury.
- 1:04Speaker 1: So there was a lot of that going on as
- 1:06Speaker 1: I was watching the FA Cup this weekend. But it
- 1:08Speaker 1: was nice not to be stressing about how many points
- 1:11Speaker 1: has everyone got in this game and just be able
- 1:13Speaker 1: to watch the games. Does it not make you angry though,
- 1:15Speaker 1: when one of your players in FPL or something like
- 1:18Speaker 1: that score when Gabrielle scored, I was like, why not
- 1:21Speaker 1: do that in midweek? Mate? Come on? Yeah? I did
- 1:24Speaker 1: exactly the same when my players were scoring. I was like, man,
- 1:26Speaker 1: come on, what are you doing? Save that? Trent? I
- 1:28Speaker 1: was like, saved up for the Premier League? Please?
- 1:30Speaker 2: Yeah, just think about momentum though. They carry that momentum
- 1:33Speaker 2: into the league in midweek, so it's good for their
- 1:35Speaker 2: confidence and then they're going to do well for you
- 1:37Speaker 2: in midweek.
- 1:38Speaker 1: That's what we needed, mister positive on this Monday morning. Yeah,
- 1:41Speaker 1: it is a very good point. It is a very
- 1:42Speaker 1: good point. Indeed, I'm not sure how much momentum Arsenal
- 1:44Speaker 1: will have after going wat and penalties, but you never know. Jews.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Let's touch upon what happened in the FA Cup then
- 1:51Speaker 1: our resident mister I watch everything. What of the main
- 1:54Speaker 1: takeaways from the weekend to go into the week.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Well, I was side Brandford. If you're a Brandthon fans,
- 2:00Speaker 2: we were very sorry because that was the the only
- 2:02Speaker 2: really big upset them. Losing at home to Plymouth at
- 2:04Speaker 2: home would have been so so good. And even if
- 2:06Speaker 2: he was a beat him initially from Thomas Frank, some
- 2:10Speaker 2: better players came on late and that even could not
- 2:13Speaker 2: couldn't serve them. Sam just mentioned Liverpool and Trent that
- 2:17Speaker 2: was a really good win for them called trends called
- 2:20Speaker 2: a lovely, lovely goal Arsenal against Manchester United where you
- 2:22Speaker 2: were Kelly, where we were Kelly not a good depth
- 2:25Speaker 2: for ka I have it so the Gabrielle scored as
- 2:27Speaker 2: you said, good, I guess for Amom and Marster United
- 2:31Speaker 2: Brunos called a lovely gold. The left was very good
- 2:33Speaker 2: at the back as well, if you have them in
- 2:34Speaker 2: you FPL team Ases scored again for Crystal Palace, which
- 2:38Speaker 2: is good. We had a win for Spurs. It took
- 2:40Speaker 2: a long time, Sam Kuluzevski, Bran Johnson on the Scoreshitt,
- 2:43Speaker 2: which again is good for the confidence going into the
- 2:45Speaker 2: Arsenal game in midweek. Big win for City Jack Greenish
- 2:49Speaker 2: family scoring after almost a year without scoring, so it
- 2:53Speaker 2: was pretty good, I guess from a from a liak
- 2:56Speaker 2: point of your Newcastle with the win after a little
- 2:58Speaker 2: scar at the beginning against Bromley go than scoring, he's
- 3:01Speaker 2: not involved in the game.
- 3:03Speaker 1: What about the injuries so Sam, because you mentioned did
- 3:06Speaker 1: they spend the whole weekend worrying? For me? The one
- 3:09Speaker 1: that's it was kind of before the FA Cup game
- 3:11Speaker 1: is Juil Pedro, though he did provide a positive update
- 3:14Speaker 1: on social media after brightenswint Norwich, didn't he But yeah,
- 3:17Speaker 1: what about the other injuries? Yeah, there were a few,
- 3:20Speaker 1: weren't there And we saw a minisc off at halftime
- 3:23Speaker 1: and apparently that was to do with his back. So
- 3:25Speaker 1: maybe that makes Raw Jim and Az a little bit
- 3:27Speaker 1: more interesting to us in Flo. I've been backwards and
- 3:31Speaker 1: forward since our last podcast on who to replace Evanilson with,
- 3:33Speaker 1: and Raw Jiminez is one of my big contenders for
- 3:37Speaker 1: that position, so that made me feel a little bit
- 3:39Speaker 1: better about potentially going there. Obviously, Gabby Jasus went off
- 3:43Speaker 1: injured in the Arsenal game. That's going to be frustrating
- 3:45Speaker 1: for a lot of managers because there were a lot
- 3:47Speaker 1: of managers a couple of game weeks ago who went
- 3:49Speaker 1: for him as a bit of a differential route into
- 3:52Speaker 1: that Arsenal attack, and so to see him stretched off
- 3:55Speaker 1: will be a worry to those managers. As you said, Jell,
- 3:57Speaker 1: Pedro looking like he's probably okay on the back of
- 4:01Speaker 1: that that tweek that we had and Esac, I think
- 4:04Speaker 1: it's just a rest because we did seem to get
- 4:06Speaker 1: some positive updates already how at the back end of
- 4:08Speaker 1: last week. But we'll just have to see how he is.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Obviously it's not an injury that picked up in the Cup,
- 4:13Speaker 1: but nonetheless it's there. And then fall Krook I felt
- 4:16Speaker 1: like really really sorry, I know, but I felt really
- 4:20Speaker 1: really sorry for Potter because they were actually playing quite
- 4:22Speaker 1: well and then all of a sudden there's just injuries left,
- 4:24Speaker 1: right and center across that west Ham team. So yeah,
- 4:29Speaker 1: it'd be interesting to see who plays up top for
- 4:31Speaker 1: west Ham moving forward over the next few weeks, because
- 4:33Speaker 1: now without Bowen and Antonio Folkrook as well, there is
- 4:36Speaker 1: a few injuries to contend with heading into this midway ground. Yeah,
- 4:39Speaker 1: the news about grim Potter was announced after we recorded
- 4:42Speaker 1: the podcast on Thursday. It had been mutia for a while,
- 4:45Speaker 1: hadn't it, But it was confirmed. We did get to
- 4:47Speaker 1: see very early signs of his side in action against
- 4:50Speaker 1: aston Villa and as Sam mentioned, their jewels, they did
- 4:53Speaker 1: play really well, didn't They obviously took the lead in
- 4:55Speaker 1: that one. Has that given us any food for thought
- 4:57Speaker 1: in FPL? Obviously we know Jared Bowen is still out injured.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I thought it was good for certainly for
- 5:02Speaker 2: the first half and then there were under pressure and
- 5:05Speaker 2: it's just I think normal when you've gone your manager
- 5:09Speaker 2: that the whole there's not just that consistency over the
- 5:11Speaker 2: whole nineteen minutes for example, especially with the injuries that
- 5:14Speaker 2: we've mentioned already. They will have two home games for
- 5:18Speaker 2: him to start or to restart his promeric career if
- 5:21Speaker 2: you want, against Fulham and Crystal Palace. So not the
- 5:25Speaker 2: easiest of games, but you would expect that home west
- 5:29Speaker 2: Ham to be able to do to do well at
- 5:31Speaker 2: least for him. Let's see what he changes and what
- 5:34Speaker 2: he doesn't change, and if we see a very different
- 5:36Speaker 2: west time to what we saw Undelopti, which was a
- 5:39Speaker 2: big chaotic At times some really good things, others they
- 5:41Speaker 2: were shambolic and Potter will will have to bring that
- 5:44Speaker 2: consistency and be more maybe normality in what they want
- 5:47Speaker 2: to do as a team. It won't be easy with
- 5:49Speaker 2: the injuries just mentioned, but at least to have two
- 5:52Speaker 2: home games to start with, which is the same for
- 5:54Speaker 2: most By the way Everton is really Yeah.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Moys as well was an interesting one because Sam we've
- 5:59Speaker 1: spoken or we spoke in December, didn't we about every
- 6:01Speaker 1: since fixtures being good and whether we wanted to invest
- 6:05Speaker 1: particularly defensively. And he is another not the same type
- 6:10Speaker 1: of coach as Dish, but he is also going to
- 6:11Speaker 1: make them quite solid defensively, isn't he.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 6:14Speaker 1: Absolutely, I think you know that's one of his key
- 6:16Speaker 1: strengths as a managers, so I'd expect them to be
- 6:19Speaker 1: fairly solid. Pickford and Branthwaite probably be quite important in
- 6:22Speaker 1: his system. And you know we know that when Brandthway
- 6:25Speaker 1: plays that he makes Everton's defense so much better as
- 6:27Speaker 1: it is. It'll be interesting to see how he gets
- 6:30Speaker 1: the best out of those attacking players though, because that's
- 6:32Speaker 1: been their real struggle this season is that they haven't
- 6:34Speaker 1: really got going in the attacking areas of the pitch.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Dwight McNeill has been good when he's not been injured,
- 6:40Speaker 1: but other than that, there's been a real lack of
- 6:43Speaker 1: not just goal scoring, but goal scoring opportunities. I think
- 6:45Speaker 1: for Everton, so a couple of nice home fixtures. Well
- 6:48Speaker 1: one of them's against Spurs, but that's Burs defense is
- 6:50Speaker 1: gettable at but yeah, good home fixtures to start and
- 6:53Speaker 1: I think when you're a new manager, starting at home
- 6:55Speaker 1: is always always a positive because it gets you kind
- 6:58Speaker 1: of going in front of the home crowd. So I'm
- 7:01Speaker 1: quite intrigued by both of these managers and I think
- 7:03Speaker 1: both of them have potential to do well at these
- 7:06Speaker 1: two clubs. And they're both managers that are now on
- 7:08Speaker 1: my assistant manager Chip radar moving forward because both will
- 7:12Speaker 1: have the benefit of being lower down in the league
- 7:15Speaker 1: and the potential for those additional points for wins against
- 7:18Speaker 1: teams five places above them. Yeah, we do need to
- 7:20Speaker 1: talk about the assistant manager Chip because the prices have
- 7:22Speaker 1: been revealed, but just before we do that, a reminder
- 7:24Speaker 1: of the fixtures that both these new managers are going
- 7:27Speaker 1: to have at the start of their tenure at their
- 7:28Speaker 1: respective clubs. For west Ham and Graham Potter it's Fulham
- 7:32Speaker 1: at home this midweek, then Crystal Palace at home on Saturday.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Then it's Villa away, Chelsea away, Brentford at home, Arsenal way,
- 7:38Speaker 1: then Lester home. I could go the rest of the season,
- 7:40Speaker 1: I'm not, but you get you get the fieling with them.
- 7:42Speaker 1: It's it's a little bit mixed for Everton, as you mentioned, Sam,
- 7:45Speaker 1: two home fixers to start with, Villa at home on Wednesday,
- 7:48Speaker 1: then Tottenham at home. Then it's Brighton away, Leicester home,
- 7:51Speaker 1: Palace away, Manchester United at home. So yeah, mixed as well,
- 7:54Speaker 1: but some nice fixtures in there that potentially we could
- 7:57Speaker 1: make the most of as FPR managers. Okay, then the assistant.
- 8:00Speaker 1: We actually spoke about this on the pod on Thursday
- 8:03Speaker 1: and this was prior to knowing the manager prices. You
- 8:07Speaker 1: already mentioned a couple on your radar, Sam, so I'll
- 8:09Speaker 1: come to your first duels. Any particular price points that
- 8:12Speaker 1: caught your eye.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean for the people who haven't seen it yet.
- 8:14Speaker 2: There's four categories, which is kind of what we expected
- 8:17Speaker 2: to divide the league into. Into four, you've got the
- 8:21Speaker 2: five big clubs, let's put it that way, or five
- 8:24Speaker 2: of the biggest if you want that, those managers will
- 8:26Speaker 2: go to one point five million, So Slot and Arteta
- 8:29Speaker 2: and Guardiola, Maresca and Eddie how those are the five
- 8:33Speaker 2: most expensive and I guess it's probably fair. Then you've
- 8:37Speaker 2: got the one point one million one, which is the
- 8:39Speaker 2: rest of the top ten basically, so the other five
- 8:42Speaker 2: after that in the table, so Born with Iraola, No
- 8:46Speaker 2: and Notingham Forest for example, those kind of managers. Then
- 8:50Speaker 2: you've got the zero point eight and the zero point five,
- 8:52Speaker 2: which is basically the rest of the league, so from
- 8:54Speaker 2: eleven to twenty. So in there you could find an
- 8:58Speaker 2: Imor for example zero and aid, which I think is
- 9:01Speaker 2: a is a very interesting price for him. You can
- 9:03Speaker 2: find a Ruben I'm more Ina Zeropon eight million as well,
- 9:06Speaker 2: Postoco glu I believe it's probably zero point eight some
- 9:09Speaker 2: or maybe he's in the one point one. And then
- 9:11Speaker 2: Potter and more is, as sum already mentioned, a zero
- 9:14Speaker 2: point five. So the more cost you much and potentially
- 9:18Speaker 2: if they turn things around with west Ham and Everton,
- 9:21Speaker 2: there might be something interesting that for you.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I was Actually I'm not just saying
- 9:25Speaker 1: this to copy of Sam so now I often get
- 9:27Speaker 1: used to copying on this podcast, but when poster came
- 9:30Speaker 1: out at zero point five particularly, that did stand out
- 9:34Speaker 1: to me because, as we've said before, if you get
- 9:36Speaker 1: the right block of fixtures, if you find some form there,
- 9:38Speaker 1: it's really interesting. Yeah, the point five's that he's like
- 9:41Speaker 1: competing with if you've only got point five. So the
- 9:43Speaker 1: cheapest managers Ivan You'rerich at Southampton, Vanista Roy at Leicester,
- 9:48Speaker 1: McKenna at Ipswich and Moy's as you mentioned at Everton,
- 9:52Speaker 1: so yeah, I don't know, Moys might be an option
- 9:55Speaker 1: as well, but basically it's the newly promoted clubs West
- 9:58Speaker 1: ham and Everton. Yeah, and I think for me, when
- 10:00Speaker 1: I saw the list, I was like, I am definitely
- 10:03Speaker 1: going to go budget with this because the budget managers
- 10:05Speaker 1: feel like they've got the most potential upside. Yeah, they're
- 10:08Speaker 1: the ones that have got the places to rise above them,
- 10:11Speaker 1: so you've got the potential for those additional points. So
- 10:13Speaker 1: when I was looking at it, Potter massively stood out
- 10:16Speaker 1: to me because this is a West Hampton that we
- 10:18Speaker 1: know can score goals and obviously you get additional points
- 10:21Speaker 1: for the goal scoring and more goals you score. It's
- 10:24Speaker 1: a west Ham team that has the potential to massively
- 10:26Speaker 1: turn their season around under Potter and Rise, So I
- 10:30Speaker 1: like those. I also think there's quite a few in
- 10:32Speaker 1: the no. Point eight category that I really like. You
- 10:34Speaker 1: just have to make sure that how you pick them,
- 10:37Speaker 1: you really think careful about what does that block of
- 10:39Speaker 1: three fixtures does look like? How do I make sure
- 10:41Speaker 1: that I, as far as possible exploit the potential for
- 10:44Speaker 1: wins with multiple goals an clean sheets, and how do
- 10:48Speaker 1: I take as little budget as I can out of
- 10:51Speaker 1: the rest of my team, because I kind of feel
- 10:53Speaker 1: like at the moment we're starting to have a tightening
- 10:56Speaker 1: up of budgets, particularly if Harlan or one of the
- 10:58Speaker 1: man City players comes back into our conversation about having
- 11:01Speaker 1: to own them, then finding the budget and the assistant
- 11:04Speaker 1: manager is going to be really important. So there are
- 11:06Speaker 1: a couple in the one point one category that I
- 11:08Speaker 1: think are interesting, like Postacoglo being there is is interesting
- 11:11Speaker 1: because Spurs are struggling a little bit at the moment,
- 11:14Speaker 1: and so if we can get a run together, then
- 11:15Speaker 1: maybe you can exploit that five position thing again but
- 11:19Speaker 1: I think it's the noe point eights and the nzero
- 11:21Speaker 1: point five's that are really interesting.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Can the manager price has got this?
- 11:26Speaker 1: I was just thinking that, yeah.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Because obviously if Pottterton things are run very quickly, I
- 11:30Speaker 2: might go from zero point five to what The.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Other problem with that is for the lights of us
- 11:35Speaker 1: who are leaving it till the end of the season.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Are we going to get penalized by leaving until the
- 11:39Speaker 1: end of manager prices go up? I think I think
- 11:41Speaker 1: they're stark. I think they're static. I don't think that
- 11:43Speaker 1: they're changing them at the assistant manager prices. I think
- 11:46Speaker 1: it's it's a case of this is what they are
- 11:48Speaker 1: and that's where they Otherwise it would be an incentive
- 11:50Speaker 1: to use it earlier, wouldn't it if Yeah, that was
- 11:52Speaker 1: the case. Yeah. So Sam's mentioned a few of the
- 11:55Speaker 1: teams at the various point price points I wanted to go.
- 11:57Speaker 1: I mentioned the specific ones at the cheapest price point,
- 12:00Speaker 1: and now let's go to the most expensive ones. Because
- 12:02Speaker 1: we spoke out last week on the pod about which way,
- 12:04Speaker 1: and Sam said it will divide a lot of people
- 12:06Speaker 1: whether you go cheaper and you gamble a little bit,
- 12:09Speaker 1: or if you go for the managers that are most
- 12:11Speaker 1: likely to get wins. You've got in the one point
- 12:13Speaker 1: five category as you'd expect honest Slot at Liverpool. You
- 12:17Speaker 1: probably also expect mikel Arteta at Arsenal, Enzo Maresca at Chelsea,
- 12:21Speaker 1: Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and anyhow Newcastle as well.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Would you still be tempted to pay a little bit
- 12:27Speaker 1: more to go for one of those rules or are
- 12:29Speaker 1: you still thinking it's better to kind of gamble and
- 12:30Speaker 1: save a bit of money.
- 12:32Speaker 2: No, I mean we said it last week. I think
- 12:35Speaker 2: it depends if you want to protect your rank and
- 12:37Speaker 2: then play it safe, which is which is absolutely fine
- 12:40Speaker 2: if you feel like you need to get as many
- 12:42Speaker 2: points as you can and you're ready to take a
- 12:44Speaker 2: few more risks because you know that Arnest Slot who's
- 12:47Speaker 2: lost one one league game all season, if you go
- 12:51Speaker 2: with him for three games in a row, especially if
- 12:54Speaker 2: those three games are you know, a decent game. So
- 12:57Speaker 2: if you don't play Arsenal, I think there's a there's
- 12:59Speaker 2: three games in a row for Liverpool where it's quite tough.
- 13:01Speaker 2: But if you find three games in a row for
- 13:04Speaker 2: Liverpool that are decent fixtures for them, you know, this
- 13:07Speaker 2: could be three wins and it might not get you
- 13:08Speaker 2: maximum points with this chip, but at least you're safe.
- 13:13Speaker 2: It will be secure. It'd be more points and that
- 13:15Speaker 2: probably be enough to protect your rank. If you're in
- 13:18Speaker 2: a position where you're chasing, it's very different, and as
- 13:21Speaker 2: we said, it would be probably more fun to take
- 13:23Speaker 2: a few more risks with this chip and go for
- 13:25Speaker 2: something different. I mean, to be fair, right, I mean,
- 13:29Speaker 2: if you were right now Guardiola six with City potentially
- 13:33Speaker 2: if they beat teams above them, and if they have
- 13:36Speaker 2: you know, when you face us on again, that might
- 13:38Speaker 2: be something interesting that you could do, especially if City,
- 13:42Speaker 2: you're feeling, are getting back close to their best. So
- 13:46Speaker 2: it's up to you. And let's remember again that you can.
- 13:49Speaker 2: You don't have to keep the same manager for the
- 13:51Speaker 2: three games in a row. You can if you have
- 13:53Speaker 2: enough free transfers or ready to take a minugs for
- 13:57Speaker 2: then you can. You can change your manager each time. Really,
- 14:00Speaker 2: so you don't have to always look at this book
- 14:03Speaker 2: of three fixtures for one manager. It could be one
- 14:05Speaker 2: is Slot, the next one is Potter, and the next
- 14:07Speaker 2: one is Mos and then you maximize as much as
- 14:10Speaker 2: possible the chip.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, of course a reminder again you don't have
- 14:14Speaker 1: to stick with the same manager for the three game weeks,
- 14:16Speaker 1: but the same rules as if you're transferring out players
- 14:19Speaker 1: to apply, you just use up a transfer. Okay, then
- 14:21Speaker 1: that comes in in game week twenty four. Before then,
- 14:23Speaker 1: we've got a few game weeks to contend with. So
- 14:25Speaker 1: let's take a look at game week twenty one. I'm
- 14:27Speaker 1: just going to read you the fixture list because if
- 14:29Speaker 1: you're anything like me at this time of year, you've
- 14:31Speaker 1: kind of got particularly working on the FA Cup like
- 14:34Speaker 1: I've been. And when I did Match to the Day
- 14:35Speaker 1: on Saturday and we were across thirty odd games, it's
- 14:38Speaker 1: just absolutely bonkers. So let's was it thirty games? I
- 14:40Speaker 1: don't know how many, No, it was about twenty whatever.
- 14:42Speaker 1: It felt like a lot of games. It just might
- 14:44Speaker 1: mean that you don't exactly know who's playing this week,
- 14:46Speaker 1: so I'll run through it very quickly for you. On Tuesday,
- 14:49Speaker 1: Brentford versus Manchester City, Chelsea, Bournemouth, west Ham, Fulham, Forest Liverpool.
- 14:53Speaker 1: On Wednesday, it's Everton, Aston Villa, Leicester Palace, Newcastle against Wolves,
- 14:57Speaker 1: Arsenal against Spurs in the North London. Are we then
- 15:00Speaker 1: two games on Thursday, Ipswich taking on Brighton and Manchester
- 15:03Speaker 1: United welcoming Southampton. That last fixture that I said, given
- 15:08Speaker 1: how Manchester United performed yesterday, is really standing out to me.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Sam United versus Southampton. Some people tentatively invested in in
- 15:17Speaker 1: ruben amor inside. I'm wondering if that's going to change,
- 15:19Speaker 1: given their last few performances and given the fixture they've
- 15:22Speaker 1: got this week. I was about to say weekend this week, Yeah,
- 15:25Speaker 1: I am. I've sold both of my Manchester United assets
- 15:29Speaker 1: over the last few weeks because I was had Bruna
- 15:31Speaker 1: Fernandez who then got suspended and I sold him going
- 15:34Speaker 1: into that one, and then last week I sold Diego Dallo,
- 15:38Speaker 1: which actually, now given he's now suspended for midweek, actually
- 15:41Speaker 1: doesn't seem that terrible. So that's one thing to be
- 15:45Speaker 1: mindful of if you do have Dallo. He will be
- 15:47Speaker 1: missing from Thursday's game because of his his red cards
- 15:51Speaker 1: in the FA Cup. But yeah, I think so. I
- 15:54Speaker 1: think Bruno Fernandez worked incredibly hard in that game against
- 15:58Speaker 1: Arsenal in the FA Cup. He played probably one of
- 16:01Speaker 1: his better performances that I've seen so far this season,
- 16:04Speaker 1: really really nice goal in there for United as well.
- 16:07Speaker 1: I think it's really the opposition, isn't it that you'd
- 16:11Speaker 1: be investing in for that Southampton game when you're looking
- 16:13Speaker 1: at how well the teams are playing. This is an
- 16:16Speaker 1: opportunity for Manage United to build on the winning the
- 16:19Speaker 1: FA Cup and to target a team that have been
- 16:21Speaker 1: really struggling in the league. So this should be a
- 16:24Speaker 1: moment where when you're looking at the players to invest
- 16:28Speaker 1: in four game week twenty one, that you look at
- 16:30Speaker 1: Manti United quite carefully. Now, Bruno Fernandez is maybe harder
- 16:34Speaker 1: for some people to get to because of the price
- 16:35Speaker 1: point and the fact that you've got free up a
- 16:37Speaker 1: little bit of money, but players like Amad should be
- 16:40Speaker 1: fairly fairly easy to target if you want to. But
- 16:44Speaker 1: I still think i'd steer clear of that defense. And
- 16:46Speaker 1: it's just really those two that I'd be focusing in
- 16:49Speaker 1: on if I was going to go through a United
- 16:51Speaker 1: player in midweek. George, regular listeners will know you are
- 16:53Speaker 1: the hardest man in the world persuade if you want
- 16:56Speaker 1: to buy any Manchester United players. Has anything changed yet?
- 16:59Speaker 2: I'm not sure sure. I mean, I think they will
- 17:01Speaker 2: win against Southampton. I don't know how well, they're going
- 17:04Speaker 2: to play defensively. They were good against Liverpool and Arsenal
- 17:07Speaker 2: and we've always said it's probably easier to put a
- 17:09Speaker 2: good defensive structure together if you're a manager than anything
- 17:13Speaker 2: with the board going forwards. But we'll see. The thing
- 17:17Speaker 2: is they play Brighton at home, so they've got back
- 17:19Speaker 2: to back home games, which is good. I guess usually
- 17:23Speaker 2: Old Trafford, although lately we've seen obviously Wolves going there
- 17:27Speaker 2: and win. I think born With went then win too,
- 17:29Speaker 2: so it's not given. And then they play Brighton at
- 17:33Speaker 2: the weekends, so Satum done and Brighton at home and
- 17:36Speaker 2: then away Fulham. I'm so I think I'll wait. I'm
- 17:39Speaker 2: still not too convinced yet this is the right team
- 17:42Speaker 2: to invest in, considering all the options that we have
- 17:44Speaker 2: to be fair.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Yeah, and also Sam, it's actually interesting because when Jels
- 17:47Speaker 1: mentioned United's next fixture as well, it kind of you
- 17:50Speaker 1: do have to bear in mind, don't you that there's
- 17:52Speaker 1: such a short turn around from midweek to the weekend.
- 17:55Speaker 1: It's not a double game week, but I imagine there's
- 17:57Speaker 1: an element of almost considering both fixtures or I mean,
- 18:01Speaker 1: we should never bring a player in you for just
- 18:02Speaker 1: one fixture, I know, but particularly when it's a mid
- 18:04Speaker 1: week and then weekend around. Yeah, I tend to look
- 18:08Speaker 1: at midweek rounds as a double game week. And you
- 18:11Speaker 1: won't get the double game week points obviously because they're
- 18:13Speaker 1: two separate weeks. But when you're thinking about how you
- 18:16Speaker 1: set up your team moving forward, I always think that
- 18:19Speaker 1: it's a useful strategy because it means, barring injuries and
- 18:23Speaker 1: suspensions and all of that stuff which we know can happen,
- 18:26Speaker 1: you're setting your team up then for the two games
- 18:28Speaker 1: in that week. And given we've just had the FA
- 18:31Speaker 1: Cup as well, I think that's increasingly important to make
- 18:34Speaker 1: sure that you do that. So for me, I really
- 18:37Speaker 1: like this midweek fixture. I worry a little bit about
- 18:40Speaker 1: the extra time and penalties that we've just had, like
- 18:44Speaker 1: that can take a lot out of players. They're going
- 18:45Speaker 1: to have to have a sightly new system with Dallo missing,
- 18:48Speaker 1: who fits in at the back in that slot? Do
- 18:51Speaker 1: we see a sight change of position for our ad
- 18:53Speaker 1: who starts up top? Is it Zexy, is it Hoylan?
- 18:56Speaker 1: Like there's a lot of kind of unknowns heading into
- 18:58Speaker 1: the midweek, and we maybe see a little bit of
- 19:00Speaker 1: rotation around that squad, so it's definitely something to be
- 19:03Speaker 1: mindfulow of. It's definitely something that puts me off this
- 19:06Speaker 1: team because we haven't got two really nice fixtures, but
- 19:09Speaker 1: we have got one great one in midweek. Okay, which
- 19:12Speaker 1: other fixtures stand out to you? Choose them?
- 19:14Speaker 2: Forest Liverpool Obviously that's the main one, considering the team
- 19:19Speaker 2: first and third facing each other, the only team has
- 19:21Speaker 2: bet in Liverpool in the league so far this season.
- 19:24Speaker 2: It's going to be great. I mean great. I think
- 19:27Speaker 2: we know exactly what kind of game we're going to
- 19:29Speaker 2: see because Forrest, probably even more than ever we play with,
- 19:34Speaker 2: they're very strong defense and how compact they've been and
- 19:38Speaker 2: play on the counter, and Liverpool will have a lot
- 19:39Speaker 2: of the ball and I yeah, I good luck to
- 19:43Speaker 2: Liverpool to break down that defense. They might well do it,
- 19:46Speaker 2: but it won't be easy for them, I guess. The
- 19:49Speaker 2: other one is the Chelsea one with game again like
- 19:52Speaker 2: a Top seven clash facing each other, and which I
- 19:57Speaker 2: think will be interesting, not easy for my own going
- 20:00Speaker 2: this Chelsea boys.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Okay, let's dive into those fixtures a little bit more.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Forest versus Liverpool. Samma's both of us are doubly treble
- 20:08Speaker 1: invested in Liverpool. I kind of don't really count the
- 20:10Speaker 1: Salad because everyone's got him. It's kind of like salar
- 20:13Speaker 1: and then maybe you've got another player. We went with
- 20:16Speaker 1: Trent and Diaz and we were a little bit worried
- 20:18Speaker 1: about probably both of those, weren't we really After the
- 20:20Speaker 1: game against Manchester United, they obviously got the big win
- 20:23Speaker 1: against a Crington Stanley, but like I said, I was
- 20:26Speaker 1: working on the games on Saturday and someone did say
- 20:28Speaker 1: off camera it's great for Liverpool, but we do have
- 20:31Speaker 1: to bear in mind they're not going to play at
- 20:32Speaker 1: Crington Stanley each week. Particularly when we look at Trent
- 20:35Speaker 1: Alexander Arnold. I was concerned when I saw that Alexander
- 20:39Speaker 1: Ronold was starting because it felt like there was a
- 20:40Speaker 1: lot of changes for Liverpool and not a second string
- 20:44Speaker 1: but almost a second string, and he was starting. How
- 20:47Speaker 1: did you feel come full time? Yeah, I must admit
- 20:50Speaker 1: it worried me a little bit. Looking at that team sheet.
- 20:53Speaker 1: I was expecting mass rotation from Liverpool, but I was
- 20:57Speaker 1: also potentially expecting Connor Bradley to see Connordley's name there
- 21:00Speaker 1: instead of Trends and maybe Trent comes on if needed.
- 21:04Speaker 1: But then equally, maybe I'm not surprised because Connor Bradley
- 21:06Speaker 1: got the start in midweek and he is just coming
- 21:08Speaker 1: back from injury, so maybe two starts in such quick succession.
- 21:11Speaker 1: At his comments kind of suggested that and that made
- 21:13Speaker 1: me feel a little bit better exactly. Yea, And I
- 21:15Speaker 1: think looking at the team sheet, if you just look
- 21:17Speaker 1: at the team sheet, you go, oh, gosh, does that
- 21:18Speaker 1: means going to not start him? Do you notice that
- 21:20Speaker 1: every FPR manager on social media had an absolute meltdown
- 21:23Speaker 1: when he started and already planning their replacements. Yeah, I
- 21:26Speaker 1: was having an absolute meltdown and I was thinking, is
- 21:28Speaker 1: this the worst transfer of my season so far? You
- 21:31Speaker 1: bring in a player he gets naught points in the
- 21:33Speaker 1: game week and then plays in the FA Cup against
- 21:35Speaker 1: at Criinton Standley and then doesn't start in midweek in
- 21:38Speaker 1: the in the league, that would have been a disaster.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Now that still could happen, but I think slots of
- 21:43Speaker 1: comments made me feel slightly better about the fact that
- 21:45Speaker 1: you know he doesn't want to rush Connor Bradley back
- 21:48Speaker 1: in and race his performance as well, didn't you think?
- 21:51Speaker 1: And again I know it wasn't against the Premier League opposition.
- 21:54Speaker 1: But he played well and I mean he scored an
- 21:56Speaker 1: incredible goal, but aside from that he played pretty well. Yeah. Absolutely,
- 21:59Speaker 1: And I think think you know Trent. It's funny, isn't it,
- 22:02Speaker 1: because a few weeks ago everyone was waxing lyrical about
- 22:05Speaker 1: Trent and how good he'd been playing in terms of
- 22:08Speaker 1: attacking threat not necessarily defensive there. And we said on
- 22:11Speaker 1: this podcast last week that when Trent came on against
- 22:14Speaker 1: Birds in the League Cup, the attacking threat that Liverpool
- 22:18Speaker 1: possessed was so much greater. And we did see that
- 22:19Speaker 1: against a Quenton Stanley as well. Like they they perform
- 22:23Speaker 1: really well in attack and defensively or right, they were
- 22:25Speaker 1: against that Quentin Stanley. So they keep a clean sheet
- 22:28Speaker 1: and it's nice but and maybe they don't do that
- 22:30Speaker 1: against Nottingham Forest. But this game has got trouble written
- 22:34Speaker 1: all over it in my mind, like I can't work
- 22:36Speaker 1: out what I think is going to happen. It's part
- 22:38Speaker 1: of the reason I still haven't made a transfer. I
- 22:39Speaker 1: spent all week watching the price Wises because, as I
- 22:42Speaker 1: think I said on Thursday, I'm exactly on budget for
- 22:46Speaker 1: going out and Nilsen to Wood, but I can't decide
- 22:48Speaker 1: whether I want to invest even more heavily in a
- 22:50Speaker 1: game that I can't quite work out what I think
- 22:52Speaker 1: it's going to happen in and it's always annoying. It's
- 22:54Speaker 1: that fixture this week, isn't it massively? Because I think
- 22:57Speaker 1: if nothing for us, were playing anyone else and it
- 22:59Speaker 1: just gone right, I'll get wood and that's the end
- 23:02Speaker 1: of it. But actually I find it difficult with this fixture,
- 23:06Speaker 1: and partly I'm still tempted to do it because, as
- 23:08Speaker 1: I said before, I like to look at these two
- 23:10Speaker 1: next games in succession and together, so I think that
- 23:15Speaker 1: that makes me more likely to do it. But then equally,
- 23:17Speaker 1: Rau Jim Andez is there in the background, and I'm
- 23:20Speaker 1: kind of thinking it might be quite nice to take
- 23:21Speaker 1: a punt on him for the next two weeks and
- 23:23Speaker 1: then maybe go to it after that. So yeah, I'm not.
- 23:28Speaker 1: I think Dias will get the start that it made
- 23:30Speaker 1: me happy that he sat on the bench and didn't
- 23:32Speaker 1: come on. Obviously, Salah, Virgil, Alison all got complete rest.
- 23:35Speaker 1: I didn't go to that game at all, so that
- 23:38Speaker 1: was nice. I think Dias will be fine. I think
- 23:41Speaker 1: if you've got Jotta, you might have an issue. I
- 23:43Speaker 1: don't see him starting in midweek after starting in the
- 23:46Speaker 1: League Cup and then in the FA Cup. So for
- 23:48Speaker 1: the managers who took a bit of a punt on
- 23:49Speaker 1: Jotta a couple of weeks ago, I think that might
- 23:51Speaker 1: be problematic. But as a trend and Lewis das owner,
- 23:55Speaker 1: I'll be holding both of them for this one. I
- 23:57Speaker 1: wanted to pick up a bit more on Chelsea versus
- 23:59Speaker 1: Bornman because you mentioned it there. It's quite a hard
- 24:03Speaker 1: one to call Chelsea needed a win. Again, We've got
- 24:05Speaker 1: to bear in mind the level of opposition Jeels Bournemouth.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Though they've got injuries Evanilson and who now both out,
- 24:12Speaker 1: but the players that came in with Tara Brooks all
- 24:14Speaker 1: looked really good for them as well, didn't they. So's
- 24:17Speaker 1: it's almost like a case if I know that Sam
- 24:19Speaker 1: and others will be deinvesting in the Bournemouth attack, but
- 24:21Speaker 1: it might be quite a good game to see if
- 24:22Speaker 1: there's going to be any Bournmouth attackers that we can
- 24:25Speaker 1: invest in. Also, I think this is a real for me.
- 24:27Speaker 1: It feels like we're getting to a point with Chelsea
- 24:29Speaker 1: now where they have to start delivering. Otherwise people are
- 24:32Speaker 1: just going to do invest and probably just have Palmer,
- 24:34Speaker 1: aren't they.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, And the Formers dip quite missively in the
- 24:38Speaker 2: league really the last few games. They've really struggled both
- 24:41Speaker 2: end of the pitch. And this is a tricky game,
- 24:44Speaker 2: really tricky game because you could easily see born With
- 24:47Speaker 2: going there even without a proper number nine, because I
- 24:49Speaker 2: suspect they would play either and Menu or somebody like
- 24:54Speaker 2: that as a kind of a fourth nine if you
- 24:55Speaker 2: want a Brooks with somebody like that, which actually might
- 24:59Speaker 2: not be for Chelsea because it's probably harder to defend
- 25:02Speaker 2: sometimes against so far as nine, you center backs never
- 25:04Speaker 2: know if you have to follow him or not. There's
- 25:06Speaker 2: a little bit more freedom for the for for whoever
- 25:08Speaker 2: is the first number nine, then maybe a traditional number nine.
- 25:11Speaker 2: So it be very interesting to see one how boomb
- 25:13Speaker 2: was set up and to how Chelsea deal with with
- 25:17Speaker 2: for Final being being injured and probably for a long time.
- 25:20Speaker 2: It's I think it's massive for Chelsea. So this Gems
- 25:23Speaker 2: coming back in the Cup time which was good but
- 25:25Speaker 2: again against not very good teams, So we'll have to
- 25:30Speaker 2: see how his progress is before even rech Gems being
- 25:33Speaker 2: back in the conversation. But I think that there's so
- 25:36Speaker 2: much more pressure on Chelsea in his game than on Boonemouth,
- 25:39Speaker 2: and I think some usually this season so far, Chelsea
- 25:43Speaker 2: haven't done well. Those young players, this young team hasn't
- 25:45Speaker 2: done well under pressure.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Are you going to keep hold of Jackson? You've had
- 25:48Speaker 1: him for come time? You are you just gonna wait?
- 25:50Speaker 1: And they've got Wolves after this as well.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Yeah, that's why Again if you look at the you
- 25:55Speaker 2: know the more than justice midwik picture, because I think
- 25:57Speaker 2: this is tricky. But again I also think that both
- 26:00Speaker 2: will we give them a bit of space. I think
- 26:03Speaker 2: we've said that Palmer is often one of the reasons
- 26:08Speaker 2: why Nico does well. If if there's the service from
- 26:10Speaker 2: from Palmer and if Nico is not too clumsy in
- 26:12Speaker 2: front of Golds usually does well, which was the case
- 26:15Speaker 2: to be found the last two games where Nicol should
- 26:17Speaker 2: ask goed at least maybe two or three goals on
- 26:20Speaker 2: good service from Palmer, didn't do it and and that's
- 26:23Speaker 2: bad Nico coming back. But yeah, I'll stick with him
- 26:26Speaker 2: for now. He's expensive, so it's if he doesn't do
- 26:30Speaker 2: anything this midweek is probably something that we'll talk about
- 26:33Speaker 2: on Thursday show. For the following weekend, and.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Neither of you are going to bring up the Jews
- 26:38Speaker 1: and say I'm North London Derby. Now I'm avoiding it
- 26:41Speaker 1: at all costs.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Good for you. You're going to win this one.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Why we said that, that's not like it's not like
- 26:49Speaker 1: you Jews.
- 26:50Speaker 2: No, So okay, there's a few things. And as I
- 26:52Speaker 2: said before, I mean this. This first team is an
- 26:55Speaker 2: await tea more than a home team by far, as
- 26:57Speaker 2: we saw against City for example. And I think they're
- 27:00Speaker 2: gonna they're going to play really well away. I live
- 27:02Speaker 2: pooling the leak ups on the final second leg. I
- 27:05Speaker 2: think they're going to do really well on Wednesday, because
- 27:07Speaker 2: this is as much as we like or not range ball,
- 27:11Speaker 2: I think they're very good in those situations. We saw
- 27:14Speaker 2: a United similar kind of pattern and similar kind of
- 27:17Speaker 2: game plan, and it'll be the same on Wednesday. And
- 27:19Speaker 2: this is an Arsal team that is low on confidence.
- 27:23Speaker 2: That he is struggling and struggling to score goals, even defensively,
- 27:27Speaker 2: it would be easy at times for not just not
- 27:30Speaker 2: just United, but also at the weekend last weekend for
- 27:34Speaker 2: the opposition to get something there. So I'm convinced that
- 27:38Speaker 2: SUPs are going to do really well on Wednesay. I
- 27:39Speaker 2: don't know. They might just draw, they might not win
- 27:42Speaker 2: for it like their city, But I think this is
- 27:44Speaker 2: a game that is panning out really well for them.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Okay, so that's what is going to be I thinks
- 27:48Speaker 1: is going to be the outcome of the game. We
- 27:50Speaker 1: don't have to talk about that. Let's talk about it
- 27:51Speaker 1: from an FPL perspective, Sam, in terms of the stuff
- 27:55Speaker 1: is next. A lot of us heavily invested in the
- 27:58Speaker 1: arsenal defense, particularly now, it doesn't feel like there's actually
- 28:01Speaker 1: too many areas of investment elsewhere. Maybe people do still
- 28:04Speaker 1: have Spurs attackers. I suppose, yeah, I do. We still
- 28:07Speaker 1: got Slank. I think Brennan Johnson's still fairly popular in
- 28:11Speaker 1: the game as well. So I've obviously got Timber who
- 28:14Speaker 1: went off into Ish looking during the extra time I'm
- 28:18Speaker 1: planning I was planning to spend him anyway. I just
- 28:20Speaker 1: I didn't fancy the double arsenal defense against Spurs because
- 28:23Speaker 1: those North Front and Derbies do tend to be high scored,
- 28:25Speaker 1: and we do tend to like going to tim Where's
- 28:27Speaker 1: we do score goals there usually when we go, So
- 28:30Speaker 1: I was planning to just play Rayer and leave it
- 28:32Speaker 1: at that anyway, particularly as I have Selanky up top.
- 28:36Speaker 1: But I think Gabrielle is a different conversation. If you've
- 28:39Speaker 1: got double up of Rayer and Gabrielle, think it's much
- 28:41Speaker 1: harder to bench to bench Gabrielle, particularly with our vulnerability
- 28:46Speaker 1: from set pieces, although under the new goalkeeper we haven't
- 28:49Speaker 1: been so vulnerable so far from set pieces. We've actually
- 28:52Speaker 1: defended them. Okay, so it will be it'll be an
- 28:55Speaker 1: interesting game. I'm not as confident that Spurs's performances as
- 28:59Speaker 1: Jews is, but the one thing I would say is
- 29:00Speaker 1: that although spurs game went to extra time in the
- 29:03Speaker 1: FA Cup against Tamworth, we didn't have many of our
- 29:06Speaker 1: superstar players on the pitch, so the back line was
- 29:08Speaker 1: pretty much what you will expect going into into the
- 29:12Speaker 1: game against Arsenal, with the exception of Reggion and Spence.
- 29:16Speaker 1: But from the attacking players we did see a lot
- 29:18Speaker 1: of rotations. So obviously Brennan played played the whole game,
- 29:22Speaker 1: but outside of that, I'll be surprised, you know, to
- 29:25Speaker 1: see We'll obviously see Kiloseski, slanky Son come back in
- 29:29Speaker 1: and for most of those we only saw well minimal
- 29:33Speaker 1: game time that they had to play, so that will
- 29:35Speaker 1: bode well given the Arsenal had their full strength team
- 29:38Speaker 1: out for most most of the game. Aas Manchester United,
- 29:42Speaker 1: I think you play your attacking players and I think
- 29:45Speaker 1: you consider if you've got a defender, and you won't
- 29:48Speaker 1: have a defender from Spurs so that's out of the
- 29:50Speaker 1: question anyway. But if you do have a defender from Arsenal,
- 29:54Speaker 1: then I think you play them. If you have two,
- 29:56Speaker 1: I think you probably consider just benching one of them. George,
- 30:00Speaker 1: I'm not going to do. It's a million dollar question.
- 30:02Speaker 1: I know the answer is probably go out and sign
- 30:03Speaker 1: a striker, but they can't do that. What they could
- 30:05Speaker 1: do before Wednesday, but I doubt they got into what
- 30:08Speaker 1: do you think is going to be the solution for
- 30:10Speaker 1: Arsenal in attack in the short term if they don't invest,
- 30:12Speaker 1: And just from an FPL point of view as well,
- 30:14Speaker 1: where we could maybe start to look at who's going
- 30:17Speaker 1: to play? Does it have it?
- 30:18Speaker 2: Is it just have A is going to come come
- 30:22Speaker 2: back in the team as a starter now and the
- 30:23Speaker 2: front three will be has Martinelli and Trossa. On on
- 30:28Speaker 2: Wednesday night, that there's just no other options since Gabridge
- 30:31Speaker 2: Jesus is injured and one year he is injured, Sarka
- 30:33Speaker 2: is injured, and I just don't think there's anything else
- 30:38Speaker 2: really the artic I can do. In terms of the
- 30:40Speaker 2: transfer window, I think they'll probably be looking not too
- 30:45Speaker 2: optimistic on them making a signing, and certainly not a
- 30:47Speaker 2: big signing, because right now it's all good to say,
- 30:50Speaker 2: let's sign a striker, but you need to sign a
- 30:52Speaker 2: world class striker. You can't just sign Bobby from down
- 30:55Speaker 2: the road. It's just that it doesn't make any sense.
- 30:57Speaker 2: So and that's very expense and right now I don't
- 31:01Speaker 2: think they can do expensive players, expensive signing. So I
- 31:06Speaker 2: just don't know how you bring back the confidence to
- 31:08Speaker 2: a car has who looked who looked so down on
- 31:11Speaker 2: on Sunday and rightly so it's normally miss chances in
- 31:14Speaker 2: mister Pendants in the shootout, it's not it's not good.
- 31:17Speaker 2: So that's what that's what I'm saying. It's going to
- 31:20Speaker 2: be a really tricky game for Arsenal, even if it's
- 31:23Speaker 2: at the Emirates in a in the homegun where you've
- 31:25Speaker 2: lost two in a row. Now with Newcastle in the
- 31:27Speaker 2: lead Cup and then United albeit you can count it
- 31:31Speaker 2: as a droid.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Felt nervier there yesterday chose it felt Yeah, it did
- 31:34Speaker 1: feel a little bit like because I guess, like you said,
- 31:37Speaker 1: I kind of was forgetting that going into it. The
- 31:39Speaker 1: Newcastle game had happened as well. It just felt a
- 31:41Speaker 1: little bit flatter. I guess that shows the expectations reason.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Yeah. Also the Newcastle I felt the crowd for the
- 31:46Speaker 2: Newcastle game was much flatter, and to be fair, Newcastle
- 31:49Speaker 2: scored early in stuff and then very early in the
- 31:53Speaker 2: second half and that killed the game pretty much, even
- 31:55Speaker 2: if I was not enough chances to score at least
- 31:58Speaker 2: one maybe two. Yes, they felt different because there was
- 32:00Speaker 2: a lot of good things from Arsenal. I know it's
- 32:03Speaker 2: a defeat, and I know it's a bitter one, but
- 32:05Speaker 2: there was a lot of good things. When you expected
- 32:08Speaker 2: goals over three in a game against Monster United would
- 32:11Speaker 2: be when they had ten men for an hour, but
- 32:12Speaker 2: still even even eleven against eleven, then then it's not
- 32:17Speaker 2: all negative. But if you if you don't take your
- 32:21Speaker 2: chances for two games in Arona, in big games like that,
- 32:24Speaker 2: then for the third one in a row, it doesn't
- 32:27Speaker 2: look good.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Sam. What else from these games do you want to
- 32:32Speaker 1: talk about? I'm wondering if we need to talk about
- 32:33Speaker 1: Manchester City. Yeah, I was gonna go Crystal Palace, but
- 32:37Speaker 1: let's go for man City.
- 32:38Speaker 2: I think Palace.
- 32:42Speaker 1: We are both desperate for him to return again.
- 32:45Speaker 2: If he doesn't return in midwek.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Okay, let's go Palace first. I'm going Palace if he
- 32:50Speaker 1: doesn't return against Leicester. Then I looked at my tayment.
- 32:54Speaker 1: I had to consider benching him. I'm not going to
- 32:56Speaker 1: bench because because well, I'm going to bench one probably
- 32:59Speaker 1: gonna bench. I don't know to be how many times
- 33:02Speaker 1: am I going to say the word bench in this sentence.
- 33:06Speaker 1: I'm not going to bench him, but I'm just I'm
- 33:09Speaker 1: not going to bench boost because I've got Schuel Pedro
- 33:12Speaker 1: and I would probably bench Kun. You're away at Newcastle
- 33:14Speaker 1: over Benchinglissar is what I decided. But I've been so
- 33:17Speaker 1: frustrated with Ishmelassar as a sorrow and I regret the
- 33:21Speaker 1: transfer in and I want him to not make me
- 33:23Speaker 1: regret it by going and playing really well against Leicester.
- 33:26Speaker 1: And that feels like Sam away at Leicester, a team
- 33:30Speaker 1: that defensively aren't brilliant with the way that Sara plays
- 33:33Speaker 1: and the pace he has. Surely if you can't get
- 33:36Speaker 1: the points there, then we have to sell him. Yeah. Yeah,
- 33:41Speaker 1: that's how I feel like. I feel like this was
- 33:43Speaker 1: a really, really really it was an experiment that so
- 33:47Speaker 1: far has been really terrible, Like and I look at
- 33:50Speaker 1: it and every week I'm like, but the underlying numbers
- 33:52Speaker 1: are there, and then the underlying numbers don't.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Produce returns on Wednesday nights because well, you don't say
- 34:02Speaker 2: is going to be so much fun.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Particularly fars it happens, I think I'll have already transferred
- 34:11Speaker 1: him out by Thursday morning. I think I just won't
- 34:12Speaker 1: come on this podcast on Thursday if both of those
- 34:14Speaker 1: two things have happened. Yeah, I mean, look, you played
- 34:16Speaker 1: sixty four minutes in the FA Cup. It was a
- 34:19Speaker 1: a again, not with the goal, So I definitely feel like,
- 34:22Speaker 1: hells we went the wrong way. Yeah, but we did
- 34:26Speaker 1: it for the right reasons and all of that stuff.
- 34:29Speaker 1: So we just have to see what happens in midweek. Matteta,
- 34:32Speaker 1: if you are looking for a Gabby jay z Each
- 34:34Speaker 1: replacement and you've already got wood, Mateta got off full
- 34:37Speaker 1: rest in the FA Cup obviously just sat on the
- 34:39Speaker 1: bench for the whole game. I do think he is
- 34:42Speaker 1: a really nice differential option heading into the next few
- 34:45Speaker 1: fixtures that Pallas have. So if you don't have a
- 34:48Speaker 1: palace investment so far and you don't want to go
- 34:53Speaker 1: for A or you can't go for s A because
- 34:55Speaker 1: you're midfield five is you don't want to change them,
- 34:59Speaker 1: then having a look at Matta, I don't think it's
- 35:01Speaker 1: a bad idea at all. He's got really nice underlying
- 35:03Speaker 1: numbers as well. And I think it's those three, isn't it.
- 35:07Speaker 1: It's going for who is the obvious choice. He's the
- 35:11Speaker 1: one that's informed stars, the one with the great numbers
- 35:14Speaker 1: but not doing anything on it. And then Mateta, who
- 35:17Speaker 1: I think has been overlooked a little bit in the
- 35:19Speaker 1: forward line because obviously Iak is taking up a spot
- 35:22Speaker 1: and you're not going anywhere else. Wood is just ridiculous
- 35:26Speaker 1: at the moment. And then it's been that other slot
- 35:28Speaker 1: and it's been kind of like, well, do you want
- 35:29Speaker 1: to go for a Jo Pedro? Do you want to
- 35:31Speaker 1: go for a cheaper option? But Mateta, I think is
- 35:35Speaker 1: somebody that we should be considering if you're not already
- 35:37Speaker 1: invested in Paris.
- 35:38Speaker 2: Is because you haven't mentioned today, which is surely a
- 35:42Speaker 2: mistake because it was a great report from our Chrystal
- 35:48Speaker 2: Palace correspondence you just did.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, still get him. I still love him and
- 36:00Speaker 1: still think you know his underlying threat is he's got
- 36:02Speaker 1: attacking returns in his locker. He's got there should be
- 36:05Speaker 1: a clean sheet in this one against Leicester as well,
- 36:08Speaker 1: So double digit hole and coming.
- 36:11Speaker 2: I mean, I really hope for you that Palace win five.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Oh my god, if they don't.
- 36:18Speaker 2: Boom boom, boom boom two goals and then who knows
- 36:21Speaker 2: we're fabacists.
- 36:23Speaker 1: Look you know that I'm going to text you if
- 36:24Speaker 1: any of these things come off, so you'll hear from me.
- 36:27Speaker 1: If Pallace lose, you will not hear from me at
- 36:29Speaker 1: all on Wednesday. And it's touching if she's going to
- 36:32Speaker 1: sign up on first. Of course, I want to talk
- 36:35Speaker 1: about man City, but I actually wonder if we should
- 36:37Speaker 1: talk about Brentford and man City. As you mentioned Jules,
- 36:40Speaker 1: Brentford one of the shocks of the f A Cup
- 36:41Speaker 1: third round, losing to Plymouth. Everything about that game was uncharacteristic.
- 36:45Speaker 1: They didn't make changes as well. They lost at home.
- 36:46Speaker 1: They never lose at home. This one again is at
- 36:49Speaker 1: home against Manchester City. Firstly, from a Brimford point of view,
- 36:53Speaker 1: I feel like after this game a lot of people
- 36:55Speaker 1: might be re looking at bemo. Yeah he's keeping on returning,
- 37:00Speaker 1: doesn't it.
- 37:01Speaker 2: Yeah, we said, and this is City at home. Then
- 37:03Speaker 2: they have Liverpool at home. But we've been saying ready
- 37:06Speaker 2: those back to back home games, as good as they've
- 37:08Speaker 2: been at home, they were also that good because they
- 37:10Speaker 2: hadn't faced anybody really from the top tier teams. Let's
- 37:14Speaker 2: put it that way. They lost to Arsenal on Tuesday,
- 37:17Speaker 2: which was the first really big team to come over.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Even if I'm bomb was scoring that in that game
- 37:22Speaker 2: as well, So this is huge for them, especially on
- 37:26Speaker 2: the back of that. Humiliation has to be called what
- 37:29Speaker 2: it is. Play with the bottom of the championship. There's
- 37:32Speaker 2: no way they should come to Branford and win in
- 37:34Speaker 2: the FA Cup, which is a competition that I think
- 37:36Speaker 2: as a Branford fan or owner, if you took us
- 37:39Speaker 2: or the players, you would have felt like, let's let's
- 37:41Speaker 2: have a really good run at it, because especially as
- 37:44Speaker 2: good as you've been at home, this is where you
- 37:46Speaker 2: can upset a lot of teams and maybe go find
- 37:48Speaker 2: the competition and instead this is your like the only
- 37:52Speaker 2: team from the Premier League that has been knocked out
- 37:54Speaker 2: by a lower legal position. So it's not good at all,
- 37:57Speaker 2: so we can expect a reaction for sure. The problem
- 38:00Speaker 2: for Brentford is that City are looking better. It's still
- 38:03Speaker 2: not great and there's nothing to take away from the
- 38:06Speaker 2: Softford game on Saturday apart from I guess maybe the
- 38:09Speaker 2: goal for Dag really is the two for Doku, but
- 38:11Speaker 2: they were Sulford just not good enough really, so let's
- 38:15Speaker 2: see what City do. But I yeah, there's a feeling
- 38:18Speaker 2: that City are getting better and they would get better
- 38:20Speaker 2: and they're signing new players so they would get better
- 38:22Speaker 2: just because of that.
- 38:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's worrying me that all of a sudden these
- 38:25Speaker 1: players are going to come back and make Earling Holland
- 38:28Speaker 1: start scoring multiple goals and we're all going to have
- 38:30Speaker 1: to find fifteen million pounds against the Yeah, that is
- 38:33Speaker 1: a worry definitely, I think from a Brentford perspective though
- 38:36Speaker 1: as well. Manchester City just I know they did against Sulford,
- 38:39Speaker 1: but they just don't keep clean sheets. There's always this
- 38:41Speaker 1: goal here or there in the way that Brentford usually attack.
- 38:44Speaker 1: And I do think that this was an unusual result
- 38:47Speaker 1: from a Brentford perspective because they weren't playing their most attacking,
- 38:51Speaker 1: their best their best players. So bring them back in
- 38:53Speaker 1: against Manchester City and I'd expect them to score goals.
- 38:56Speaker 1: So if you've got em bombing your team, if you've
- 38:58Speaker 1: got in your team, then definitely I wouldn't have any
- 39:01Speaker 1: qualms about starting them against Manchester City. And if you've
- 39:04Speaker 1: got like a Rico Lewis or in particularly Rico Lewis Cavadia,
- 39:08Speaker 1: I think is a bit different because of the attacking threat.
- 39:10Speaker 1: But if you've got a Rico Lewis, then I'd probably
- 39:12Speaker 1: still bench in this weekend because Brentford at home despite
- 39:15Speaker 1: that performance, still in the league have been really good
- 39:17Speaker 1: this season, particularly in an attack, so I'd have no
- 39:20Speaker 1: qualms about starting them. Man City is difficult, isn't it,
- 39:25Speaker 1: Because I continue to look at them and think we're
- 39:29Speaker 1: seeing recovery from them. We're seeing better performances. We're still
- 39:32Speaker 1: not seeing clean sheets, but from perspective we're seeing better performances.
- 39:36Speaker 1: But I still really find it difficult to know how
- 39:39Speaker 1: you would invest in Manchester City because fourteen point eight
- 39:41Speaker 1: million for Harlan is a lot, and trying to find
- 39:46Speaker 1: that at the moment where budget's already tied up, I'd
- 39:50Speaker 1: have to make some quite big sacrifices across the rest
- 39:52Speaker 1: of my team, Like you'd have to take Trent out,
- 39:54Speaker 1: and maybe that's something coming in the future anyway, but
- 39:57Speaker 1: you'd have to be massively downgraded. I'd have to put
- 40:00Speaker 1: look at changing out Raa for a different goalkeeper. Now,
- 40:03Speaker 1: all of these things are achievable, but they're also probably
- 40:07Speaker 1: mean that I have to wildcard in.
- 40:08Speaker 2: Order to do. Yeah, if you want to is a
- 40:12Speaker 2: worldout job.
- 40:13Speaker 1: For sure, it feels like it unless you've managed to
- 40:15Speaker 1: save five transfers, which you might have geors because you've
- 40:18Speaker 1: seem to have about eight thousand transfers every week, you know.
- 40:21Speaker 1: So I think if you, I know, if you've got
- 40:27Speaker 1: if you've got lots of transfers, you can possibly do it.
- 40:30Speaker 1: But for me, it would be a wild card thing,
- 40:32Speaker 1: and I don't want a wild card anytime soon. So
- 40:34Speaker 1: what I'm really hoping over the next couple of weeks
- 40:36Speaker 1: is that we see a man City asset, whoever that
- 40:39Speaker 1: may be, whether it's a Saviodoku, whether it's a phone
- 40:42Speaker 1: or a KDB, whether it whoever it might be, whether
- 40:45Speaker 1: it's a new signing that comes in that can, if
- 40:49Speaker 1: not match the level of Harlan that can return points
- 40:52Speaker 1: from a Manchester City perspective, because this is the time
- 40:55Speaker 1: where Manchester City usually pick it up and kick up
- 40:58Speaker 1: of gear towards the back end of the season, and
- 41:00Speaker 1: so I find it really hard. I don't like not
- 41:04Speaker 1: having Harlan in my team. Even over the last few
- 41:06Speaker 1: weeks when they haven't really been performing, I've not enjoyed
- 41:09Speaker 1: not having Harlan and it's not a pleasant experience. Every
- 41:11Speaker 1: week I find myself kind of being like, Okay, how
- 41:13Speaker 1: much is it going to is he going to return
- 41:16Speaker 1: this week? And at the moment his own ship levels
- 41:18Speaker 1: are relatively low and so it's not actually hurting rank
- 41:21Speaker 1: that much every time he returns. But if he starts
- 41:24Speaker 1: returning on a regular again, if we see a return
- 41:26Speaker 1: against Brentford, you know that as now managers have that
- 41:29Speaker 1: second world card available, that people will start to weldcard
- 41:33Speaker 1: him in. I think the only positive that we have
- 41:36Speaker 1: as non Harlan owners is that there are plenty of
- 41:39Speaker 1: other assets in that front line that are performing, so
- 41:42Speaker 1: you can kind of maybe outweigh what Harlan's doing with
- 41:46Speaker 1: one of those guys, particularly with Esak because he's been
- 41:48Speaker 1: so brilliant. But yeah, Man City firmly on the radar.
- 41:53Speaker 1: I'm going to be watching this one quite carefully to
- 41:55Speaker 1: see if there's anybody that continues to be an attractive
- 41:59Speaker 1: asset to us in FBL outside of PARTLM, because that
- 42:02Speaker 1: feels like the only way I'm going to be able
- 42:03Speaker 1: to do it without hitting the world carver on. Okay, Tom,
- 42:06Speaker 1: Then to move on to Differential of the Week under
- 42:09Speaker 1: ten percent owned as always, last week's differential Sorry Jeles
- 42:13Speaker 1: yours got one point, Sam's Leon Bailey got nine points
- 42:16Speaker 1: of the goal And to bonus, if you need reminding,
- 42:18Speaker 1: Jewels went for Joel intern at Newcastle and you're not
- 42:21Speaker 1: fair place because you actually brot him into your team,
- 42:22Speaker 1: didn't you.
- 42:23Speaker 2: Yeah, you got in good positions as well.
- 42:25Speaker 1: Great, how many points did you have for that one?
- 42:28Speaker 2: But to watch the games, I.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Wanted him sent off for elbow and Berglan and the head.
- 42:36Speaker 1: Let's not really, let's not reignite that debate. Let's just
- 42:39Speaker 1: go with this week's differential, Sam, you get to go
- 42:42Speaker 1: first because you won. Ah, So I'm going to also
- 42:45Speaker 1: follow George's lead with Newcastle from last week because I
- 42:48Speaker 1: just think that they're in such good form and it's
- 42:51Speaker 1: browning away at you.
- 42:53Speaker 2: I know you're going to say Murphy, but you know
- 42:54Speaker 2: I am going to say Murphy. I said a couple
- 42:57Speaker 2: of shows ago, how good he's been, Yeah.
- 42:59Speaker 1: And five one million, And I think that's the thing,
- 43:01Speaker 1: isn't it. Like had I not had Evan Nilsen not
- 43:04Speaker 1: fractured his foot, then I would absolutely have gone for
- 43:06Speaker 1: Murphy this week because for me it would be much
- 43:08Speaker 1: much more difficult to afford Anthony Gordon. But Jacob Murphy's
- 43:12Speaker 1: really affordable and he's only owned by five point nine
- 43:14Speaker 1: percent of the game, so a massive differential returns in
- 43:17Speaker 1: five of his last six and two thirteen point hauls
- 43:21Speaker 1: in that time, and even in the game where he
- 43:23Speaker 1: didn't get a return, he's still got that clean sheet point,
- 43:25Speaker 1: which you know is important. Forty seven points in those
- 43:28Speaker 1: six matches between game weeks fifteen and twenty. Only Salah
- 43:31Speaker 1: has more attacking returns than Murphy's nine, and he's got
- 43:35Speaker 1: the same number as Esak, who were obviously all waxing
- 43:37Speaker 1: livercor about and rightly so. In that period. He's also
- 43:40Speaker 1: had twelve attempts on goal created fourteen chances, which only
- 43:43Speaker 1: Esac and Gordon have more of, but they've only had
- 43:45Speaker 1: one more than he has and it's against a wolf side.
- 43:48Speaker 1: They have conceded forty five goals this season, which is
- 43:50Speaker 1: more than any other team. So surely Jacob Murphy returns.
- 43:53Speaker 1: I think even Jews agrees. Jews. Who's the differential?
- 43:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree, I agree with I mean, I feel
- 43:58Speaker 2: like I gave that one to somebody anyway. Mine was. Yeah,
- 44:02Speaker 2: it's the one I wanted to. I mean I mentioned
- 44:04Speaker 2: him last week if you remember well, because I took
- 44:06Speaker 2: about Savio or Savino if you want to call him
- 44:08Speaker 2: the little Savio is up to you. So I'm going
- 44:10Speaker 2: to go for him this week because I think he's
- 44:13Speaker 2: in probably back to his best form, which was last
- 44:16Speaker 2: season when he was at Girona in Spain, owned by
- 44:19Speaker 2: only three seven percent of the game six point five minutes.
- 44:22Speaker 2: So he is a bit more expensive than than the
- 44:24Speaker 2: Jacob Murphy, for example, but returned back to back games
- 44:26Speaker 2: now thirteen point fourteen points hold in the last two
- 44:29Speaker 2: game weeks. He didn't play in the FA Cup because
- 44:32Speaker 2: that was the B team, so the lacks of Gradish
- 44:34Speaker 2: and Docu can have fun against amateurs and then he's
- 44:37Speaker 2: going to be back. I like the relationship that's striking
- 44:40Speaker 2: with Holland, and we've seen a couple of assists in
- 44:43Speaker 2: those two games from him to Holan on top of
- 44:46Speaker 2: him scoring finally scoring his first goals for the club too,
- 44:48Speaker 2: So a very good time. I think to bring in
- 44:51Speaker 2: Savio and yourntwin.
- 44:52Speaker 1: Okay, transfers and captains transfer wise, the most popular transfer
- 44:56Speaker 1: combinations this week applies on surprisingly that we've mentioned the
- 45:00Speaker 1: top transfers in I'm federal, just do the combinations. Jackson
- 45:04Speaker 1: for esak Night the other way around it. Issach for
- 45:06Speaker 1: Jackson is the most popular transfer by by fair distance actually,
- 45:11Speaker 1: and then Gordon for Madison and Gordon for Lewis Diaz.
- 45:14Speaker 1: Lewis Diaz is two of the foremost popular transfer combinations
- 45:18Speaker 1: out but I also being brought in for the Liverpool
- 45:21Speaker 1: attacker as well. What he plans, guys, Jos, I'm guessing
- 45:24Speaker 1: you're going to hold Yell.
- 45:26Speaker 2: I think so because I like Joel intern at home
- 45:28Speaker 2: to Wolves. I think he's good and Newcastle have been
- 45:30Speaker 2: so good at home this season. The only the other
- 45:32Speaker 2: one is Martinelli. Really, but we've said I think the
- 45:35Speaker 2: game again suppose will be open and now Martinelli seems
- 45:39Speaker 2: to be the focus point for this Arsenal attack, and
- 45:42Speaker 2: I expect the ball to go a lot to him.
- 45:44Speaker 2: Whether he plays on the left on the right. I
- 45:46Speaker 2: think it's better for him to play on the left
- 45:47Speaker 2: and side, and he's more efficient and influential there, so
- 45:50Speaker 2: I expect him to play on them on the left,
- 45:53Speaker 2: and I think there will be chances again for Arsenal.
- 45:56Speaker 2: So I think the team looks looks okay like this.
- 45:59Speaker 1: How many trans as if you've got in your bank.
- 46:02Speaker 2: I can do? Sorry, let me let me double check.
- 46:05Speaker 1: I'm more trying to work out how many you're going
- 46:07Speaker 1: to have.
- 46:07Speaker 2: I've got to yeah, be three for the weekend. I
- 46:10Speaker 2: did join.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Oh yeah, of course in my head you've always got five. Yeah,
- 46:17Speaker 1: I know, Sam, what are you going to be doing?
- 46:20Speaker 1: So the safe, most sensible thing to do here would
- 46:24Speaker 1: be to get Evan Nelson to Wold. But I do
- 46:27Speaker 1: really like the raw humanist pictures for the next two
- 46:30Speaker 1: so I am really attempted to just continue my pain
- 46:34Speaker 1: of not having wood it kills me every week, and
- 46:37Speaker 1: just go try and play the upside of our hymnis
- 46:39Speaker 1: in the next two fixtures. I don't know what I'm
- 46:42Speaker 1: going to do, is the honest answer. I don't. If
- 46:45Speaker 1: Forrest had anyone else in midweek, I'd just go word
- 46:48Speaker 1: and be done with it. But the fact that it's
- 46:49Speaker 1: Liverpool and I'm traveled up on Liverpool is putting me off.
- 46:52Speaker 1: So if I decide to be really sensible, then I'll
- 46:56Speaker 1: just get word. If I decide to have a little
- 46:57Speaker 1: bit of fun for the next two and it will
- 47:00Speaker 1: be him and okay captaincy Wise, it feels a bit
- 47:03Speaker 1: trickier this week, doesn't it, because we've been kind of
- 47:06Speaker 1: mysala masalah mosala? Are we still mo salah toos.
- 47:09Speaker 2: I don't fancy him away Forest, I won't lie. I
- 47:12Speaker 2: just think they're gonna they have the potential. I'm not.
- 47:15Speaker 2: I think Forests have the potential to shut the game
- 47:18Speaker 2: down really and have this super defensive master class what
- 47:21Speaker 2: we saw in the reverse fixture. I think they're going
- 47:23Speaker 2: to play exactly the same way than what we saw
- 47:25Speaker 2: on field when they went there and won one. L
- 47:28Speaker 2: and as we've been saying that only Liverpool defeating the
- 47:30Speaker 2: leaks of far this season, so I'm not sure. I
- 47:33Speaker 2: was disappointed by him against Spurs in the League up
- 47:35Speaker 2: game too, and then obviously there playing the FA Cup.
- 47:37Speaker 2: But I thought it was very very neutral in that
- 47:39Speaker 2: Spurs game in a game that was that felt quite
- 47:42Speaker 2: open still, and yeah, the fact that Bradly started behind
- 47:45Speaker 2: him didn't feel the same for him then trend, which
- 47:49Speaker 2: is a fair point. I think it's also better with
- 47:51Speaker 2: Darwin at times, and he said to himself that Darwin
- 47:54Speaker 2: was the best teammate that he would have to get
- 47:56Speaker 2: the best out of himself. So I yeah, I'm not
- 47:59Speaker 2: sure he's going to score a hat trigner that we've
- 48:01Speaker 2: said that, but I don't really offends him, so I'll
- 48:04Speaker 2: probably go for coll Palmer as a captain.
- 48:07Speaker 1: Yeah, that's my armbands on him at the moment, but
- 48:09Speaker 1: I'm not convinced by that born of fixture. It's still
- 48:12Speaker 1: very much up in the air for me. Who are
- 48:13Speaker 1: you going to captain? Samak hm hmm, yeah, it feels
- 48:16Speaker 1: a bit more sensible than Cold Palmer. I've yeah, yeah,
- 48:20Speaker 1: I'm on a sec I've been on each a week.
- 48:22Speaker 1: The only thing that would put me off is that, Yeah,
- 48:27Speaker 1: that's the only thing that puts me off. So but equally,
- 48:31Speaker 1: I just I really like that fixture at home against Wolves.
- 48:35Speaker 1: I mean, I have plenty of options. Everyone seems to
- 48:36Speaker 1: have a nice fixture this week by my Liverpool boys.
- 48:39Speaker 1: It's definitely not going to be salad, though I am gonna.
- 48:41Speaker 1: I think this is a week, like we've been saying
- 48:43Speaker 1: over the last few weeks that you have to go
- 48:45Speaker 1: salah and it's been killing you every week if you haven't.
- 48:47Speaker 1: But this is an opportunity I think to roll the
- 48:49Speaker 1: dice with the captain c like this is the week
- 48:51Speaker 1: where Palmer's got a nice fixture. If you've still got Harlan,
- 48:55Speaker 1: he's got a good fixture where he could return. Well,
- 48:58Speaker 1: ESA's got a good fixture. If you've got Anthony Gordon,
- 49:00Speaker 1: he's got a good fixture. Like I think there's plenty
- 49:02Speaker 1: of potential over the net over the midweek round to
- 49:06Speaker 1: get a differential captain to come off in your favor.
- 49:08Speaker 1: So I am going to play it a bit different
- 49:11Speaker 1: and I'm almost certain I'm going to leave it with
- 49:13Speaker 1: Esak Okay, that is where we will leave it as
- 49:16Speaker 1: well reminder of their game. Week twenty one is actually
- 49:18Speaker 1: also the start of the Second Chance League. If you
- 49:20Speaker 1: aren't having the best season, hello me, here's a chance
- 49:24Speaker 1: to still win some great prizes. And there's so many
- 49:26Speaker 1: good prizes. Check out on the Premier League website. There's
- 49:29Speaker 1: kind of first Prize. I'm not going to read it
- 49:30Speaker 1: all because we're running out of time and producer Jess
- 49:32Speaker 1: he has already sent me his warning emojis, but First
- 49:34Speaker 1: Prize does include things like hospitality tickets at a Premier
- 49:37Speaker 1: League game, includes accommodation in that an Easports FC game,
- 49:41Speaker 1: a laptop or a sympree smartphone, a Bluetooth speaker, I
- 49:44Speaker 1: actually really want to win this now, and then a
- 49:46Speaker 1: personalized FBL bundle, and a Nike jacket as well. There's
- 49:49Speaker 1: a runner up prize, third, fourth, and fifth place prizes
- 49:52Speaker 1: as well, so plenty of prizes on offer. If your
- 49:54Speaker 1: season feels like it's over, it doesn't have to be
- 49:56Speaker 1: in the Second Chance League is back up and running,
- 49:59Speaker 1: and Sam, everyone's just we entered into that, aren't they.
- 50:01Speaker 1: You don't have to do anything. Yeah, yeah, you're automatically
- 50:03Speaker 1: entered into it. And I must admit that season to
- 50:05Speaker 1: remember that I was having a terrible start.
- 50:08Speaker 2: Yeah year, sure it was.
- 50:10Speaker 1: It was. Yeah, it was the World Cup year, so
- 50:13Speaker 1: and I was having a terrible start of the season,
- 50:15Speaker 1: and I did really well in Second Chance League. And
- 50:17Speaker 1: there's something really nice about that league kicking off because
- 50:20Speaker 1: it makes you. It gives you something when your overal
- 50:23Speaker 1: rank is not where you want it to be. Seeing
- 50:25Speaker 1: climbs in the Second Chance of course also means climbs
- 50:28Speaker 1: in the main league, but something psychologically nice about that.
- 50:31Speaker 1: So I really like the Second Chance League. Yes, that's
- 50:33Speaker 1: what I'm going to try and be the second second
- 50:35Speaker 1: Chance League. It's the only chance I've got of winning anything.
- 50:38Speaker 1: So yeah, your deadline then is Tuesday, the fourteenth of
- 50:41Speaker 1: January at six pm. We're going to be back on
- 50:43Speaker 1: Thursday talking through what we have seen in Game Week
- 50:46Speaker 1: twenty one so far. Of course there'll still be a
- 50:47Speaker 1: couple of games to go, but we'll have seen most
- 50:50Speaker 1: of it so that won't be too bad, and then
- 50:51Speaker 1: the Fantasy Show will be back on Friday to review
- 50:54Speaker 1: it all as well. So yeah, make sure you join
- 50:56Speaker 1: me for both of those us for this on Thursday,
- 50:59Speaker 1: and as always, love it if you can rate and review.
- 51:01Speaker 1: Very best of luck this game. Weet se you on Thursday. Guys,
- 51:06Speaker 1: h m
- 51:11Speaker 2: M hmm
