- 0:03Speaker 1: Wake up
- 0:05Speaker 1: next to.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Kicking off your day in the best way. It's Sonnya
- 0:09Speaker 1: and Joakim on the shock circuit. It is just gonna
- 0:12Speaker 1: be me today and tomorrow, but here's a question for
- 0:15Speaker 1: footballing fans. I think the group stages have gone on
- 0:18Speaker 1: too long. Anybody else feeling football fatigue because I know
- 0:22Speaker 1: I'm tired from all these games already, but we're moving
- 0:24Speaker 1: on to the knockout rounds very soon. Singapore's number one
- 0:28Speaker 1: hit music station.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Good Thursday morning. It's Joakim Gomez going solo today and tomorrow.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Sonia's on a Bali break. She's gonna play peddle, and
- 0:40Speaker 1: I'm just wishing her all the best. Stay safe, Sonia.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Don't roll your ankle or Bali belly or whatsoever like that,
- 0:48Speaker 1: but not to worry.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Here on today's show, I'll be keeping you updated on
- 0:52Speaker 1: all the scorelines that we have for the final round
- 0:55Speaker 1: of the group stages. We've got some that wrapped up
- 0:58Speaker 1: earlier this morning. Currently in action, we have Scotland against Brazil,
- 1:02Speaker 1: Morocco against Haiti, and if I'm not wrong, Brazil won
- 1:07Speaker 1: Scotland nil, all thanks to Vinicius Junior. When we come
- 1:11Speaker 1: back though, loads of updates coming your way involving the weather.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Some idiotic behavior here in Singapore and even concert news
- 1:21Speaker 1: happening across the causeway. All this and more right here.
- 1:24Speaker 1: This is the last week of the June holidays, so
- 1:27Speaker 1: get used or rather enjoy the empty roads a little
- 1:31Speaker 1: while more before next Monday. It's business as usual here
- 1:35Speaker 1: in Singapore, where loads of families come back from their
- 1:38Speaker 1: respective holidays, and it's back to school.
- 1:41Speaker 1: For some of the kids here in our country as well. So,
- 1:43Speaker 1: on my Insta stories, I've been opening up stories of
- 1:47Speaker 1: my friends who are young parents. They've taken their kids
- 1:50Speaker 1: to the Disney cruise, taken their kids to Japan, to Korea.
- 1:53Speaker 1: When we come back, there's still time to enjoy a
- 1:57Speaker 1: little bit of holiday magic. If not, you can do
- 2:00Speaker 1: it when school reopens and if you're looking for a
- 2:02Speaker 1: weekend plan here in Singapore. It involves this.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Yup. If you find this familiar, of course, it's the
- 2:15Speaker 1: intro to every single Disney movie ever. And given how
- 2:18Speaker 1: it's the 25th of June, we are just days away
- 2:20Speaker 1: before the June holidays are over. Back to school, the
- 2:24Speaker 1: roads will be business as usual here in Singapore, but
- 2:27Speaker 1: there's still time to go during the holidays or maybe
- 2:30Speaker 1: say the following weekend when school reopens. You actually have
- 2:34Speaker 1: 3 months to do this. It involves our friends from
- 2:37Speaker 1: this place.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Wow. What a chaosia on a Thursday morning. But yes,
- 2:51Speaker 1: our friends over at the Disney Cruise Line, what they've
- 2:54Speaker 1: done if they've decked out Sentosa Island in the 7
- 2:58Speaker 1: different theme areas available on the Disney Adventure. So, we're
- 3:02Speaker 1: talking a 3-month island-wide program.
- 3:06Speaker 1: It started yesterday. It's going on till September 20th. There'll
- 3:10Speaker 1: be trails, photo installations, themed areas across various locations. Again,
- 3:17Speaker 1: over at Sentosa Island. So Sentosa's kind of split into two.
- 3:21Speaker 1: You've got Resorts World Sentosa and Sentosa Island.
- 3:24Speaker 1: And there's so many things to list out for you.
- 3:27Speaker 1: I'm just gonna pick 3 to look out for. Firstly,
- 3:30Speaker 1: you know the bridge over at, was it Palawan Beach,
- 3:34Speaker 1: where you go over to the southernmost point, there's a
- 3:36Speaker 1: bridge to walk over, right? It's gonna be decked out
- 3:39Speaker 1: in Disney colors. I'm not gonna spoil too much for you.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Go there, get your TikTok game and your Instagram game up.
- 3:45Speaker 1: There's also a 6-meter inflatable Captain Mickey and Minnie that
- 3:49Speaker 1: you can take pictures with and
- 3:52Speaker 1: Three of my favorite, favorite areas on the Disney adventure.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Of course, it's part of the seven that'll be featured
- 3:57Speaker 1: over at Sentosa Island. Make sure you check out Toy
- 4:00Speaker 1: Story Place, Marvel Landing, and San Frans Tokyo on my behalf.
- 4:05Speaker 1: You can do so from now till September 20th. So
- 4:08Speaker 1: pick and choose your time wisely. Hopefully you go during
- 4:11Speaker 1: off-peak so you can get all your videos and your
- 4:13Speaker 1: pictures done with friends, family, and even your kids. And yes, earlier,
- 4:18Speaker 1: if you just joined.
- 4:19Speaker 1: us, I shared with you how the Singapore Institute of
- 4:22Speaker 1: International Affairs, they've issued a rare red alert when it
- 4:28Speaker 1: comes to our weather here in Singapore. And if you're
- 4:31Speaker 1: asking yourself, why, why, why, why, why? Let me tell
- 4:36Speaker 1: you why. Um, because of El Nino, for the second
- 4:41Speaker 1: time since 2023, a rare red alert has been issued.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Involving the transboundary haze that will affect us, Brunei, Indonesia,
- 4:53Speaker 1: and Malaysia. Now, the one thing they didn't say is
- 4:57Speaker 1: where the trans-boundary haze is coming from, but they've praised
- 5:01Speaker 1: the other countries that I just mentioned on their capability
- 5:06Speaker 1: of being able to handle the forest fires and the
- 5:08Speaker 1: haze now. So we're looking at it happening sometime.
- 5:12Speaker 1: In late July towards September, so you might wanna mask
- 5:15Speaker 1: up and be on standby. No need to panic, but yes,
- 5:18Speaker 1: we've been warned that there's a red alert happening for
- 5:21Speaker 1: the year 2026. Hey, throat's gonna feel extra itchy when
- 5:26Speaker 1: it comes to late July all the way to September.
- 5:29Speaker 1: If you are having that durian craving, if you wanna
- 5:32Speaker 1: get it satisfied for absolutely free, read about this online,
- 5:37Speaker 1: apparently the
- 5:38Speaker 1: There's a store here in Singapore that's given away 1000
- 5:42Speaker 1: kg of free durians, I dare say, almost daily. They
- 5:48Speaker 1: started doing it since June 19th, and this store is
- 5:52Speaker 1: called Durian Ninja over at Block 827 Tampines Street 81. So,
- 5:58Speaker 1: take a bow to 25-year-old old owner, Mr. Key, congratulations.
- 6:05Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure this is really good publicity for your
- 6:08Speaker 1: durian stall, and the reason why Mr. Key is doing this,
- 6:12Speaker 1: he wants to get more young people interested in durian,
- 6:16Speaker 1: and he was giving a comment saying that, yeah, he
- 6:19Speaker 1: noticed that during the free hours where he's giving out
- 6:22Speaker 1: durians for free.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Most of the people in the queue are the elderly,
- 6:26Speaker 1: but he's happy to see some young people coming forward
- 6:28Speaker 1: to queue as well. Now, before you think, hey, I
- 6:31Speaker 1: can take as many durians as I want, no, there
- 6:34Speaker 1: are some rules in place. You are limited to 2
- 6:36Speaker 1: per person, and look, I'm no durian expert, but maybe
- 6:40Speaker 1: you might know this better. The durians that are offered
- 6:43Speaker 1: is actually the kampong variety.
- 6:46Speaker 1: We're talking them coming from Bentong in Pahang and Mua
- 6:50Speaker 1: in Johor. And if I'm not wrong, the free giveaway
- 6:55Speaker 1: starts from 6:00 p.m. again, happening over at Durian Ninja
- 6:59Speaker 1: at Block 827 Tampines Street 81. There you go. If
- 7:03Speaker 1: you're looking for a place to get your durian cravings satisfied.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Why not go check them out and go give Mr.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Key a high five. Ham album, Lady Gaga, How Bad
- 7:12Speaker 1: Do You Want Me? And people are still speculating that
- 7:14Speaker 1: Taylor Swift actually secretly features in this song. No one's
- 7:19Speaker 1: confirmed anything. I don't think anyone has put that question
- 7:22Speaker 1: to Lady Gaga as of yet, but if she says yes.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Yes, I really hope one day we see a collab
- 7:30Speaker 1: between Gaga and Taylor Swift live on stage to perform
- 7:33Speaker 1: this song. But speaking of performing and all that, March
- 7:37Speaker 1: 6th and 7th next year at the Singapore Indoor Stadium,
- 7:41Speaker 1: we are getting two nights of Stray Kids here in Singapore.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Cause when I
- 7:50Speaker 1: It's like
- 7:53Speaker 1: Of course, this song featuring Charlie Puth, Lose My Breath.
- 7:56Speaker 1: They also gave you songs like La La La La.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:09Speaker 1: And how about S Class?
- 8:19Speaker 1: So they're coming to Singapore as part of their newly
- 8:21Speaker 1: announced Run It World tour to promote their new album,
- 8:25Speaker 1: This and that. They will be here again, March 6th
- 8:28Speaker 1: and 7th at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. They're doing like
- 8:31Speaker 1: an Asia tour. They're going to places like Seoul, Tokyo, Nagoya,
- 8:35Speaker 1: Hong Kong, Taipei, and Bangkok. And I'm just looking for
- 8:40Speaker 1: when ticketing details will be announced, but not as of yet,
- 8:44Speaker 1: but mark these dates down and hopefully, you're able to
- 8:46Speaker 1: score a ticket for so to enjoy Stray Kids.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Here in Singapore. Again, what a big few months it's
- 8:51Speaker 1: gonna be for K-pop here in our country. Again, Baby Monster,
- 8:56Speaker 1: Le Seraphim, BTS and now Stray Kids performing live in Singapore.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I think it was around this time where Linkin Park
- 9:04Speaker 1: surprised the entire world that they were coming back, releasing
- 9:07Speaker 1: a new single, releasing a new album, and they announced
- 9:12Speaker 1: limited tour stops, and the only Asian stop two years
- 9:16Speaker 1: ago was South Korea.
- 9:18Speaker 1: I remember telling Sonia's sons, I think I should go.
- 9:21Speaker 1: I'm a huge Linkin Park fan. I don't know if
- 9:23Speaker 1: they're coming to Singapore. I wanna go. So I bought
- 9:26Speaker 1: my own ticket, paid for my own flight. Somebody over
- 9:29Speaker 1: at Warner Music Singapore got wind that I was traveling
- 9:33Speaker 1: to Korea to go watch Linkin Park, the new band,
- 9:36Speaker 1: come back together.
- 9:38Speaker 1: They made me interview them. So yes, I have an
- 9:41Speaker 1: exclusive video on 987's Instagram and hopefully YouTube. Just go
- 9:45Speaker 1: search 987 Lincoln Park. It should be available for you.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Core memory that will live in my mind forever. That
- 9:52Speaker 1: said though, another core memory of mine, and if, if
- 9:55Speaker 1: it's your first time tuning in, look, a dream of
- 9:59Speaker 1: mine was to host NDP.
- 10:01Speaker 1: And being able to do it continuously, I do not
- 10:05Speaker 1: take it for granted. Very happy to share that I'm
- 10:08Speaker 1: gonna be hosting this year's edition and it's my very
- 10:11Speaker 1: first time hosting an NDP at the new national stadium.
- 10:15Speaker 1: I don't know why I'm clapping, but
- 10:17Speaker 1: Yeah
- 10:21Speaker 1: Just celebrating a small win in my life and this weekend,
- 10:25Speaker 1: rehearsal starts. So Saturdays, there could be fireworks going off
- 10:30Speaker 1: at the Kallang area for sure. I can't give you
- 10:33Speaker 1: the exact timings as of yet because I don't know.
- 10:37Speaker 1: But knowing me, what I would do is once I
- 10:39Speaker 1: Take down timings on when the fireworks will happen. You
- 10:41Speaker 1: can rest assured, I'll definitely share it with you here
- 10:44Speaker 1: on 987 and a video on Instagram. So, I'm not
- 10:47Speaker 1: too sure about road closures at the National Stadium area.
- 10:52Speaker 1: You might want to follow Andy Peeps on Instagram and
- 10:54Speaker 1: on TikTok for more details on that. But if you
- 10:58Speaker 1: own a drone and you wanna do some drone footage
- 11:01Speaker 1: around the National Stadium area, do note that activities are restricted. Again,
- 11:07Speaker 1: for full details, you might want to stay close.
- 11:09Speaker 1: The NDPs on Instagram and on TikTok, and very soon,
- 11:12Speaker 1: hopefully on 987's TikTok and Instagram as well, you can
- 11:16Speaker 1: watch out for a guide to this year's NDP video.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Before I go to the concert announcement happening over in Malaysia,
- 11:23Speaker 1: I wanna give a shout out to our darling Sonia Chow,
- 11:27Speaker 1: who has sent me a text message saying, hey, Joe,
- 11:29Speaker 1: lobby area at terminal 2 departure is tuned in to us. So,
- 11:35Speaker 1: to our friends over at Terminal 2, thank you for
- 11:37Speaker 1: having us on.
- 11:42Speaker 1: And this announcement for Sonia Chew. Sonia, Nicola Chow, please
- 11:46Speaker 1: proceed to your gate for boarding.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Uh
- 11:51Speaker 1: I'm very sure you're turning red now, Sonia, if you're
- 11:53Speaker 1: listening to this. But anyway, let's go on down to
- 11:56Speaker 1: some memory lane stories, shall we? I remember in secondary school,
- 12:01Speaker 1: at least in primary 6, the year 2000, 2001, 2002,
- 12:06Speaker 1: I was listening to people like Eminem, Korn.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Slipknot, Papa Roach, Marilyn Manson. Yes, I was the kind
- 12:15Speaker 1: of kid that would save recess money and I'll go
- 12:18Speaker 1: to the nearest CD-ROMer or HMV to buy a CD
- 12:21Speaker 1: and I have to hide at home and listen to
- 12:23Speaker 1: it because my mom and dad, they will say, hey,
- 12:26Speaker 1: what is this devil music?
- 12:29Speaker 1: And the one band that really I think most millennial
- 12:34Speaker 1: kids might know, Limp Biscuit, and they've announced a tour,
- 12:39Speaker 1: not in Singapore, not in Indonesia. They're gonna be stopping
- 12:43Speaker 1: by Malaysia.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Oh, this song My Way from the Chocolate Starfish and
- 12:53Speaker 1: Hotdog flavored Water album, and of course, WrestleMania 17, 1
- 12:57Speaker 1: of the best WrestleManias using that song as the official
- 13:01Speaker 1: track for that year. And of course, who can forget Rolling.
- 13:11Speaker 1: And if you really wanna go classic Limp Biscuit, how
- 13:14Speaker 1: about from 1999, and Nookie.
- 13:21Speaker 1: So, they're performing at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the National
- 13:25Speaker 1: Hockey Stadium, 9th of December, and ticket prices range from
- 13:31Speaker 1: $124 to $246.60. So, December 9th, anybody who wants to
- 13:38Speaker 1: join me to go up to KL to watch Limp Biscuit, I,
- 13:42Speaker 1: I wanna be 13 again.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Without my mom and dad scolding me for listening to
- 13:47Speaker 1: this kind of music, Sonia's on her way to Bali
- 13:50Speaker 1: as we speak. Gonna enjoy the beaches, gonna enjoy some
- 13:53Speaker 1: paddle with Jeremy.
- 13:55Speaker 1: So please be safe. Don't roll your ankle and come
- 13:57Speaker 1: back on Monday, Sonia. We need you here on the show.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Because it's always around this time. Here on the shock circuit,
- 14:04Speaker 1: we open the phone lines over at 669-119-87 or you
- 14:09Speaker 1: can WhatsApp us at 90050987, where we get your stories,
- 14:15Speaker 1: your opinions. You more or less control our 8 to 9.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Hour. And if we do like your answer, what's coming
- 14:20Speaker 1: your way, a very small prize, like a small something
- 14:23Speaker 1: from Sonia and I to say thank you for tuning
- 14:25Speaker 1: in and giving us your messages and your calls. For
- 14:27Speaker 1: this whole week, we've given you a pair of tickets
- 14:31Speaker 1: worth almost $200 to Glow Festival happening over at Palawan
- 14:36Speaker 1: Beach area, Palawan Green rather, Sentosa.
- 14:40Speaker 1: We want you there July 17th, 18th, 19th. You'll be
- 14:44Speaker 1: catching the likes of Jason Derulo, Alessia Cara performing live,
- 14:48Speaker 1: and if you're into wellness, if you're into yoga, if
- 14:52Speaker 1: you're into really your body hacks and how you can
- 14:56Speaker 1: improve your lifestyle, this is definitely something for you. But
- 15:00Speaker 1: on the topic of body hacks.
- 15:03Speaker 1: I'm at that phase of life now where I am
- 15:06Speaker 1: listening to podcasts about better sleep cycle.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Yeah, it, it will hit you. Sooner or later, it
- 15:15Speaker 1: will hit you and you'll find yourself listening to these
- 15:17Speaker 1: things as well, asking yourself, hey, how can I improve
- 15:20Speaker 1: my sleep cycle? How can I sleep better, get better sleep?
- 15:22Speaker 1: Should I wear an Apple Watch or an Aura ring?
- 15:25Speaker 1: What should I use to track my sleep with? But,
- 15:28Speaker 1: given how it's the World Cup season, loads of people
- 15:31Speaker 1: could be losing sleep just to watch their favorite games,
- 15:33Speaker 1: but I, I don't want to just draw it down
- 15:36Speaker 1: to football alone. Today's question.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna keep it very simple, very open for you
- 15:43Speaker 1: to dial in over at 669-11987 or WhatsApp us at 90050987.
- 15:50Speaker 1: What would you lose sleep over?
- 15:54Speaker 1: No, really. It could be a football game, it could
- 15:56Speaker 1: be a night out with your friends, or maybe like
- 15:59Speaker 1: a medical emergency or you're being on standby for work.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Maybe if you're a regular in our national service line,
- 16:05Speaker 1: this could be up your alley as well. What would
- 16:08Speaker 1: you lose sleep over? Share with us your story again,
- 16:12Speaker 1: if we do like your answer, what's coming your way?
- 16:14Speaker 1: A very nice pair of passes to the GLOB Festival
- 16:17Speaker 1: happening in Singapore, July 10th and 19th, but we are
- 16:20Speaker 1: gonna put you there 17th, 18th, and 19th.
- 16:24Speaker 1: So it's the World Cup season. We're in the thick
- 16:26Speaker 1: of it right now. The group stages are almost over.
- 16:29Speaker 1: We're going to the mouth-watering clashes of the knockout rounds,
- 16:32Speaker 1: round of 32, round of 16, quarterfinals, semi-finals, 3rd place,
- 16:38Speaker 1: and then the finals happening July 20th, Singapore time. And
- 16:42Speaker 1: it's announced that President Donald Trump will be at the
- 16:45Speaker 1: finals and he'll be presenting the World Cup and the winner's'
- 16:48Speaker 1: medals to the winning team. Jokes online saying, now I
- 16:52Speaker 1: hope Iran wins.
- 16:55Speaker 1: But anyway, here in Asia, we are, we are all
- 16:59Speaker 1: losing sleep, especially if you're a footballing fan. We're all
- 17:02Speaker 1: losing sleep at the World Cup, but I wanna put
- 17:04Speaker 1: football aside for a while. What else would you lose
- 17:07Speaker 1: sleep for or gladly lose sleep for as well? Because
- 17:11Speaker 1: it could be your work, it could be your family,
- 17:14Speaker 1: it could be gaming. So I wanna give you a
- 17:16Speaker 1: heads up.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Grand Theft Auto 6. The pre-orders open today, July June 25th,
- 17:23Speaker 1: Singapore time.
- 17:25Speaker 1: And it's out November 19th. It's a Thursday, and knowing Singapore,
- 17:30Speaker 1: it'll be released maybe say 12 p.m. or 1 p.m.
- 17:32Speaker 1: in the afternoon, I took November 20th leave.
- 17:37Speaker 1: I know, I'm gonna be gaming all night. I'm gonna
- 17:40Speaker 1: be losing sleep over Grand Theft Auto 6. Gonna go
- 17:44Speaker 1: to WhatsApp at 90050987. Wanna say good morning to you, Jolene.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Jolene says, hey, Joakim, I totally relate to this because
- 17:51Speaker 1: whenever I send a risky text to my partner, or
- 17:55Speaker 1: we are settling an argument and I get left unseen,
- 17:59Speaker 1: I cannot sleep. I'm the kind of person that needs
- 18:02Speaker 1: to settle our problems before I call it a night. Jolene.
- 18:06Speaker 1: I relate to you on a whole new level when
- 18:09Speaker 1: it comes to this one. I'm the kind of person
- 18:11Speaker 1: that needs to settle everything before I lay my head
- 18:13Speaker 1: down to sleep. If not, anxiety. Really, next level. Wanna
- 18:17Speaker 1: say good morning to Jay on WhatsApp. Hey Joakim, younger days,
- 18:21Speaker 1: I'll sacrifice my sleep for partying and alcohol.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Now that I'm older, I'll sacrifice sleep for food.super at
- 18:30Speaker 1: the Mamak stall still hits. And one coming in as
- 18:34Speaker 1: well from Tango Papa, that's your username. Good morning, Joakim,
- 18:38Speaker 1: and you sent me a picture of your bike. Looking good.
- 18:42Speaker 1: I lost sleep setting this up. Oops, it's time to
- 18:45Speaker 1: go to work. Oh no, Tango Papa ride safe. Keep
- 18:48Speaker 1: the calls coming in over at 669-011-987 or you can
- 18:51Speaker 1: WhatsApp us at 90050987. And if you just joined us
- 18:56Speaker 1: here on the shock circuit, welcome to the show. Going
- 18:58Speaker 1: solo today and tomorrow as Sonia's on a short break,
- 19:01Speaker 1: playing paddle and enjoying the beaches over in Bali.
- 19:05Speaker 1: And I shared that I'm at that age now or
- 19:08Speaker 1: phase in life where I'm listening to podcasts about getting
- 19:11Speaker 1: better sleep.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Yes, all those body hacks and stuff. But of course,
- 19:17Speaker 1: given how it's World Cup season, losing sleep over the
- 19:20Speaker 1: mouth-watering clashes and very soon it'll be the knockout rounds.
- 19:23Speaker 1: So I wanna put football aside for a while and
- 19:25Speaker 1: just ask you, what else will you lose sleep over?
- 19:28Speaker 1: And I shared how November 19th, 20th, it's a Thursday
- 19:32Speaker 1: and Friday, I'll be playing GTA.
- 19:35Speaker 1: I took leave on November 20th to actually play Grand
- 19:37Speaker 1: Theft Auto 6 all night. So, there you go. Wanna
- 19:40Speaker 1: go to WhatsApp at 90050987, saying good morning to Cynthia.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Cynthia says, morning Joakim. What we did as a family
- 19:49Speaker 1: was stay awake for a flight. It was our first
- 19:52Speaker 1: family trip to Sydney when my son was 3 years old.
- 19:55Speaker 1: He's 6.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Now, we were booked on an 11:00 p.m. flight, but
- 19:59Speaker 1: it was pushed back to 1:00 a.m., then delayed again
- 20:03Speaker 1: on the day itself until around 2 to 3 a.m.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Despite all our efforts to get him to sleep, he
- 20:08Speaker 1: was far too excited. Instead, he spent the time running
- 20:11Speaker 1: around the transit area and enthusiastically shouting out the different
- 20:15Speaker 1: airlines and planes he
- 20:16Speaker 1: Spotted. It was definitely a memorable experience and a funny
- 20:20Speaker 1: family memory to look back on, but we were completely exhausted.
- 20:23Speaker 1: If we had the choice again, I would definitely book
- 20:25Speaker 1: an earlier flight. Going to the phone lines over at 669-119-87TG.
- 20:31Speaker 1: What about you, buddy?
- 20:32Speaker 2: I think as
- 20:32Speaker 2: a dad, I am willing to lose sleep for three things.
- 20:36Speaker 2: So for family emergencies.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Once in a lifetime opportunities, like sometimes if there's a
- 20:41Speaker 2: good job offer, you know, and the last episode is
- 20:44Speaker 2: basically the last episode of a really good series, ah,
- 20:47Speaker 2: if you talk about shows, a bit embarrassing.
- 20:51Speaker 1: So it's family, work, and maybe sometimes Netflix or whichever
- 20:55Speaker 1: channel you watch it on lah.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Yes, correct,
- 20:57Speaker 1: yes. Out of curiosity, how much sleep do you lose
- 21:01Speaker 1: each
- 21:01Speaker 1: night?
- 21:02Speaker 2: I think I will actually max out until maybe 34 a.m.
- 21:05Speaker 2: then I, yeah, that probably, you know, depending on if
- 21:09Speaker 2: it's a weekend, then, yeah, can be more.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Has it taken its toll on your body yet?
- 21:15Speaker 2: Uh, yeah, you just need to rest more the next day.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Alright, thank you. Thank you for sharing your answer, TG Bele.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Happy Father's Day to you. Take care, man, brother.
- 21:25Speaker 2: OK. Bye-bye. Bye-bye.
- 21:27Speaker 1: On the topic of what have you lost sleep over.
- 21:31Speaker 1: It could be the World Cup. It could be gaming,
- 21:33Speaker 1: it could be work. It could be family. Let us know.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Over at 900-50987 or you can call us at 669-11987.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Wanna say good morning to Andy on WhatsApp. Morning Joe.
- 21:46Speaker 1: To me, it's just me time just to recharge. As
- 21:49Speaker 1: a private hire driver, I'm with all kinds of passengers
- 21:52Speaker 1: from 8 to 6 p.m.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Then as a father, I would spend time with my
- 21:56Speaker 1: kids till 10:00 p.m. and as a husband till 11
- 21:59Speaker 1: to 12 a.m. in the morning. Well, thank you very
- 22:02Speaker 1: much for balancing that and having family time as well, Andy.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Going to another message coming in from Kat. Hey, Joe,
- 22:09Speaker 1: the only time was 22 years ago when my mom
- 22:11Speaker 1: passed on suddenly. 5 days of awake, I did not
- 22:15Speaker 1: sleep a wink.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Really didn't know how, but now looking back at it,
- 22:19Speaker 1: I don't know how I did that because the critical
- 22:21Speaker 1: hours was between 4 to 5 a.m. I had strong
- 22:24Speaker 1: CPO to handle the timing because everyone else was sleeping
- 22:27Speaker 1: besides my brother and myself, so we had to stay awake.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Then when morning comes, I didn't have the feel to
- 22:32Speaker 1: sleep anymore. Kat, thank you so much for sharing this.
- 22:35Speaker 1: We're sending you all the love and hopefully you've moved
- 22:38Speaker 1: on and things.
- 22:38Speaker 1: are better now for you emotionally as well. Go to
- 22:41Speaker 1: the phone lines over at 669-119-87. Dylan, what about you,
- 22:46Speaker 2: buddy? Uh,
- 22:46Speaker 2: OK, for me, you know, I would always definitely sacrifice
- 22:49Speaker 2: sleep for that one hour session of fishing, because those
- 22:53Speaker 2: three hours always turned out to be the best 6
- 22:55Speaker 2: hours of my life.
- 22:57Speaker 1: When you say fishing, do you mean in Singapore waters
- 23:00Speaker 1: or overseas or what?
- 23:02Speaker 2: It doesn't really matter as long as there's a pool
- 23:04Speaker 2: of water and there's fish in there, you know, I'll
- 23:06Speaker 2: definitely throw a hook in there. Yeah,
- 23:08Speaker 1: so I'm no fishing expert, but what's the best catch
- 23:11Speaker 1: and release you got for yourself so far, Dylan?
- 23:14Speaker 2: I think that will be my first uh wild grouper
- 23:16Speaker 2: that I caught in Singapore waters. It was quite a
- 23:19Speaker 2: big fight for me and uh it was, it was
- 23:22Speaker 2: such a nice surprise to see that that grouper when,
- 23:24Speaker 2: when the fish came
- 23:25Speaker 2: out of the water. Oh,
- 23:26Speaker 1: that's nice, but Dylan, can I ask you for your opinion,
- 23:28Speaker 1: why do you think the hobby of fishing is slowly
- 23:31Speaker 1: coming back here in Singapore? We're seeing loads of young
- 23:34Speaker 1: ones do it now as well.
- 23:36Speaker 2: I'm not sure, but, uh, you know, there's just this
- 23:39Speaker 2: thrill of not knowing what you get. Maybe it's a
- 23:41Speaker 2: bit like getting Pokemon,
- 23:42Speaker 1: right for the game, I guess,
- 23:44Speaker 2: exactly.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Could be rubbish, could be a fish.
- 23:49Speaker 1: First time, and when the movie ends, it transits into
- 23:53Speaker 1: Kendrick Lamar and sends us all the stars, goosebumps inducing,
- 23:57Speaker 1: and I'm glad that the Black Panther movie is forever
- 24:00Speaker 1: immortalized on Disney Plus. So if you have a subscription,
- 24:03Speaker 1: go watch it and maybe now is a good time
- 24:06Speaker 1: to go rewatch all the Avengers films, the Marvel Cinematic
- 24:09Speaker 1: Universe timeline before Avengers Doomsday.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Coming out in the month of December. That's it though,
- 24:16Speaker 1: thank you so much for all your calls and texts
- 24:19Speaker 1: about what you will gladly lose sleep over. I think
- 24:22Speaker 1: we have plenty of very unique answers and some answers,
- 24:25Speaker 1: of course, you can relate to losing sleep over work,
- 24:28Speaker 1: losing sleep over family. But for today, I wanna give
- 24:32Speaker 1: it to Dylan who called in and said, fishing of
- 24:36Speaker 1: all things. Dylan, congratulations, buddy.
- 24:41Speaker 1: You are gonna go to the GLOB Festival worth $200
- 24:45Speaker 1: and getting a pair of tickets, July 17th, 18th, and
- 24:49Speaker 1: 19th over at Palawan Green. You can enjoy the likes
- 24:52Speaker 1: of Jason Derulo, Alessia Cara. It's a wellness festival, so,
- 24:56Speaker 1: given how you're losing.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Sleep over fishing, go to Glow Festival and reset your body. Hopefully,
- 25:02Speaker 1: it helps you. If you're a Taylor Swift fan or
- 25:04Speaker 1: maybe even a Travis Kelsey fan, not to be a capo,
- 25:08Speaker 1: but I think we have a date on when the
- 25:11Speaker 1: wedding could potentially happen, and this is according to all
- 25:15Speaker 1: the paparazzi snooping around.
- 25:17Speaker 1: The rumor is it could happen July 3rd of this year,
- 25:23Speaker 1: and how they deduce it was this July 2nd, July 3rd,
- 25:28Speaker 1: and July 4th, at least up till midday.
- 25:31Speaker 1: The city of New York, they have received plenty of
- 25:34Speaker 1: requests and permits to shut down an area quite near
- 25:38Speaker 1: Madison Square Garden. So people are speculating that Taylor Swift
- 25:42Speaker 1: and Travis Kelsey's wedding could happen over inside Madison Square
- 25:46Speaker 1: Garden itself, and another thing that is pointing to a
- 25:51Speaker 1: confirmation is, all of a sudden,
- 25:53Speaker 1: Players from the Kansas City Chiefs are booking hotels around
- 25:58Speaker 1: that period to stay in New York as well. There
- 26:01Speaker 1: are requests for tents, canopies, and of course, the roads
- 26:05Speaker 1: being shut down maybe for the huge entourage that will
- 26:08Speaker 1: show up for.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey. Whether it happen or not,
- 26:13Speaker 1: I guess the only way we'll officially find out is
- 26:16Speaker 1: through Insta stories of some of Taylor Swift's friends or
- 26:19Speaker 1: maybe even Taylor Swift's official Instagram account. Some Singaporeans, we
- 26:24Speaker 1: don't deserve nice things.
- 26:27Speaker 1: When it comes down to Hello Ride and any wheel.
- 26:31Speaker 1: When it was first launched in Singapore, I remember sharing
- 26:34Speaker 1: with Sonia my views live on air. Whether will it
- 26:37Speaker 1: be just like your old4 old bike or Mobike from
- 26:41Speaker 1: a long time ago, where people were just anyhow renting it,
- 26:45Speaker 1: then dumping it all over Singapore. I remember there was
- 26:48Speaker 1: a stretch of road along Adam Road, where this particular
- 26:51Speaker 1: tree and this small piece of land became like the
- 26:54Speaker 1: unofficial cemetery or dumping ground for
- 26:57Speaker 1: All your old bikes and more bikes. I wanna take
- 26:59Speaker 1: you to the east here in Singapore. Lorong Ke Telok
- 27:04Speaker 1: Kurau to be exact. You might have seen this video
- 27:06Speaker 1: circulating on social media already of somebody actually riding a
- 27:11Speaker 1: Hello Ride bike in the canal itself. And before you go,
- 27:15Speaker 1: a not safe or oh, which young punk is this? No.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Hello Ride themselves have come out to say that yes,
- 27:21Speaker 1: it's actually one of our
- 27:22Speaker 1: Staff members who was able to use the GPS tracking
- 27:25Speaker 1: system and realized there was a bike inside the canal
- 27:28Speaker 1: over at Lorong Ke Telo Corral. So he had to
- 27:31Speaker 1: ride it out, bring the bike out of the canal himself.
- 27:34Speaker 1: It's a very steep uphill, by the way, so well
- 27:36Speaker 1: done to this staff member and a police report has
- 27:40Speaker 1: been lodged. So Hello Ride, they are trying to find
- 27:43Speaker 1: the culprit who did this and threw the bike inside
- 27:46Speaker 1: the canal. So again,
- 27:47Speaker 1: Most of us are OK, but it's always these handful
- 27:50Speaker 1: of Singaporeans that that just don't deserve nice things. I'm
- 27:54Speaker 1: talking about this and even the sharing, the car sharing
- 27:57Speaker 1: stuff as well, where people just abuse them. So, I,
- 28:01Speaker 1: if you see anything, please make sure you report it
- 28:04Speaker 1: to the relevant people. And when it comes to things
- 28:06Speaker 1: like your Hello Ride, any wheel, or your car sharing networks,
- 28:11Speaker 1: please make sure you check everything.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Thing before you ride or drive off. And of course,
- 28:16Speaker 1: if you're following the World Cup, if you need updates
- 28:18Speaker 1: from yours truly, it's South Africa 0, our Koreanopas nail,
- 28:24Speaker 1: Mexico 0, Czech Republic nailed the first half for both
- 28:28Speaker 1: games almost over. That said though, I'm gonna give you
- 28:32Speaker 1: a bit of a spoiler. I'm posting a video up,
- 28:34Speaker 1: maybe say at just past 11:00 a.m. in collaboration with
- 28:38Speaker 1: our
- 28:38Speaker 1: Friends over at McDonald's, and this is good news because
- 28:41Speaker 1: you could be watching all the World Cup games. You
- 28:44Speaker 1: could be ordering Macs, you could be hungry with your
- 28:47Speaker 1: friends or family. How about having unlimited chicken McNuggets and
- 28:52Speaker 1: fries along with the World Cup Final come 20th of
- 28:57Speaker 1: July from 2:00 a.m. over at McDonald's Marine Corps. Why not?
- 29:03Speaker 1: East Coast Park.
- 29:06Speaker 1: So here's the spoiler. For 5000 points on the My
- 29:11Speaker 1: McDonald's app, you can redeem an invite for you and
- 29:15Speaker 1: 4 of your friends. So total 5. And when you

- 29:21Speaker 1: you can win McDonald's goodies, and not forgetting, unlimited chicken

- 29:29Speaker 1: enjoying the finals of World Cup 2026. So if you
- 29:32Speaker 1: do score for yourself, invites, I'll be there. The Invites Redemptions,
- 29:37Speaker 1: it opens 30th of June. 30th of June from 3:00 p.m., fastest,
