Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hello, everyone, Welcome to the Inside the Birds pre game show.
- 0:13Speaker 1: I'm Jeff Mosher alongside Adam Kaplan of course, to help
- 0:17Speaker 1: us break down the tape of both opponents, and the
- 0:19Speaker 1: game is Greg Cosel And folks, it's Week eight. It's
- 0:23Speaker 1: a rematch. And this might sound hard for some people
- 0:26Speaker 1: to believe, but the Eagles are trying to even the
- 0:29Speaker 1: score after losing to the Giants, and not just losing
- 0:32Speaker 1: in Week six, but getting pounded thirty four to seventeen. However, Adam,
- 0:38Speaker 1: as you know, and Greg knows this too. Probably, the
- 0:41Speaker 1: Giants have not won in Philadelphia at the Link since
- 0:45Speaker 1: two thousand and thirteen. That is a long streak, crazy
- 0:48Speaker 1: they are looking to break. Both teams are coming in
- 0:52Speaker 1: off of interesting games. The Eagles obviously five and two
- 0:55Speaker 1: after they beat the Minnesota Vikings last Sunday. The Giants
- 0:59Speaker 1: played perhaps the strangest game you will ever see in
- 1:03Speaker 1: NFL history against the Denver Broncos last week, and they
- 1:07Speaker 1: were up big going into the fourth quarter and then
- 1:11Speaker 1: it all slipped away in a historic loss. Greg, did
- 1:15Speaker 1: you actually watch the tape of that game?
- 1:17Speaker 2: I'm curious the Giants Broncos game.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Yeah, of course, okay, just making sure, just make it sure.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I mean, not every day.
- 1:24Speaker 2: There were too many plays. There were too many plays
- 1:26Speaker 2: on both sides. It took a long time, I bet.
- 1:28Speaker 1: I mean, it's not every day that a team is
- 1:31Speaker 1: up nineteen to nothing in the fourth quarter and loses
- 1:33Speaker 1: thirty two to thirty three. In fact, I think I
- 1:35Speaker 1: read it was the first time in over one thousand
- 1:38Speaker 1: and sixty games that that team had lost that kind
- 1:41Speaker 1: of a lead.
- 1:42Speaker 3: On you know, it was.
- 1:44Speaker 2: That was a very odd game because I got you know,
- 1:46Speaker 2: I knew I was going to be asked all week, well,
- 1:48Speaker 2: like what happened, and it's not like one thing happened.
- 1:51Speaker 2: You know, those are the kinds of things because people want,
- 1:53Speaker 2: you know, an easy answer, Oh well this happened, and
- 1:55Speaker 2: therefore they lost.
- 1:57Speaker 3: You know. But yeah, it was a very strange game.
- 2:01Speaker 1: In fact, I think Adam and I were discussing this.
- 2:03Speaker 1: There were like three ricochet catches in that game, catches
- 2:06Speaker 1: that bounced off one guy right the other guy. And
- 2:09Speaker 1: even one of the fighting moments of the game for
- 2:13Speaker 1: the Broncos, Knicks throws a pass that's not intended for
- 2:16Speaker 1: his receiver someton, but Mims catches it, and it winds.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Up setting up that all right, because that was dagger
- 2:22Speaker 2: and he was throwing the ball to Sutton on the
- 2:24Speaker 2: dig and Mims inexplicably stopped on his vertical route because
- 2:28Speaker 2: he's supposed to keep going to lift the coverage, and
- 2:31Speaker 2: he stopped right And I don't know why he stopped,
- 2:35Speaker 2: because he was one hundred percent wrong, and all of
- 2:38Speaker 2: a sudden he just turned around, which he shouldn't have,
- 2:40Speaker 2: and the ball hit him be you know, between the numbers.
- 2:43Speaker 2: But he was throwing the dig ball to Sutton.
- 2:45Speaker 3: Wow. But Greg, I would ask you on that game
- 2:48Speaker 3: what the Broncos offense the first three course? Was it
- 2:52Speaker 3: anything that he could just play that great? Or what
- 2:55Speaker 3: was the problem?
- 2:56Speaker 2: From a macro perspective, there were two things that stood
- 2:58Speaker 2: out to me. Number One, on the Giants defensive front
- 3:02Speaker 2: was dominating.
- 3:03Speaker 3: That stood out.
- 3:04Speaker 2: And the second thing is the Broncos pass game was
- 3:07Speaker 2: very condensed and very limited. Now, maybe that was a
- 3:10Speaker 2: function of their old line getting handled, or maybe it
- 3:13Speaker 2: was just the way it played out. But I mean
- 3:16Speaker 2: through three quarters, and I'm doing this out of memory.
- 3:19Speaker 2: I could easily pull up my notes, but I think
- 3:21Speaker 2: through three quarters, Nicks was eleven for twenty five for
- 3:24Speaker 2: one hundred and five yards, and he had one thirty
- 3:27Speaker 2: two yard completion, so he had ten other completions for
- 3:30Speaker 2: seventy three yards. So it was really condensed and limited,
- 3:34Speaker 2: and they couldn't run the football. The first good runs
- 3:37Speaker 2: really occurred late in the third quarter.
- 3:40Speaker 1: All right, well, hey, look, both teams are coming off
- 3:43Speaker 1: odd games and there's a lot to unpack with this
- 3:46Speaker 1: game coming up that is very important for both teams.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Let us get into the injury situation because it is
- 3:52Speaker 1: not very good for the Philadelphia Eagles. And I think
- 3:55Speaker 1: that there was throughout the week some momentum, some optimism
- 4:01Speaker 1: about AJ Brown even though he was sidelined with the hamstring,
- 4:04Speaker 1: about Brandon Graham possibly returning. But Adam, the news is
- 4:08Speaker 1: all bad. The Eagles are gonna be without several starters.
- 4:11Speaker 1: AJ Brown out with the hamstring, adri Jackson out with
- 4:14Speaker 1: the concussion, Cam Jurgens out with the knee injury, and
- 4:19Speaker 1: of course dis He's ogual already with the hamstring, and
- 4:21Speaker 1: again no Brandon Graham. He will not be ready to
- 4:23Speaker 1: play against the Giants. This is of all these injuries
- 4:28Speaker 1: where players not to play. I think you know you
- 4:29Speaker 1: look at AJ Brown and man, the Eagles track record
- 4:33Speaker 1: of playing without a J. Brown is not good.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Yeah, now the issue is, okay, well, how do they
- 4:40Speaker 3: approach us? Because that leaves some four healthy receivers. I
- 4:43Speaker 3: guess the good news it's a very minor. But the
- 4:45Speaker 3: guy might play. I mean he's cleared. Is Darius Cooper
- 4:48Speaker 3: is clear to play? So now they all transactions for
- 4:52Speaker 3: Sunday games have to be done by four pm Eastern
- 4:54Speaker 3: on Saturday. So if you're watching this on Saturday, here
- 5:00Speaker 3: Darres Cooper might be brought up. And by the way,
- 5:01Speaker 3: he blocks pretty well for the run game. That's one
- 5:03Speaker 3: of the things we we we thought was interesting with him.
- 5:06Speaker 3: He he's shown he can do that, and boy, they
- 5:08Speaker 3: could use that for the run game. But look, you
- 5:12Speaker 3: know that it's gonna be at DeVante Smith and then
- 5:14Speaker 3: Johan Dawson to round this off. Whatever's going to look
- 5:17Speaker 3: like it's Dodson, it's Smith, John Matchi who dressed but
- 5:22Speaker 3: didn't play. He obviously will play this week. Now they
- 5:25Speaker 3: also can use Avier Gibson we saw as a kickoff
- 5:28Speaker 3: returner who is by trade a receiver. Then they got
- 5:32Speaker 3: to have five to me it means they have there
- 5:36Speaker 3: three guys on the practice squad. It's Quest Watkins who
- 5:38Speaker 3: just got back. He's back, but not most people. I
- 5:41Speaker 3: didn't even know that he's back. Yep, it's Terras Marshall
- 5:44Speaker 3: who's healthy. He had a good offseason. And Britain Covey
- 5:47Speaker 3: is really a put returner, slat returner, it's a slap receiver.
- 5:50Speaker 3: So Terras Marshall, Jeff as they sent him back to
- 5:52Speaker 3: you would make the most sense, Greg.
- 5:53Speaker 1: What do teams typically do and doesn't have to be
- 5:57Speaker 1: the Eagles just I'm sure you see it when they
- 5:59Speaker 1: lose an extra and don't really have a natural X.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Do they do something formational? Is it more reduced splits?
- 6:05Speaker 1: What would you sort of hy suspect for a team.
- 6:09Speaker 2: I mean, I would expect you'd see less three by
- 6:12Speaker 2: one sets simply because you don't have that guy who
- 6:15Speaker 2: you feel can win one on one that you know
- 6:17Speaker 2: you can go to. You know, if you take a
- 6:20Speaker 2: peek to the trip side and you just don't like
- 6:22Speaker 2: what you see, you always feel that you can go
- 6:24Speaker 2: to your ex receiver and feel pretty comfortable about it.
- 6:29Speaker 2: You see that all the time, you know in the NFL.
- 6:32Speaker 2: But they don't have that guy now, although it wouldn't
- 6:35Speaker 2: surprise me if they put the vun To Smith out
- 6:37Speaker 2: there at times. You know, he's the body type is
- 6:40Speaker 2: such that you don't view him that way. But he
- 6:42Speaker 2: can win one on one. We've seen that many many times.
- 6:45Speaker 2: I mean he was the X receiver on the long
- 6:48Speaker 2: touchdown too that he caught this week. I mean obviously
- 6:52Speaker 2: they got a specific look that they anticipated and there
- 6:55Speaker 2: was no help. But the point is he turned Isaiah
- 6:58Speaker 2: Rogers right around because he's such a good rout runner.
- 7:01Speaker 2: So yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if they put him
- 7:03Speaker 2: out there at times.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Jeff also Goddard has played. He's probably played a little
- 7:08Speaker 3: bit of X.
- 7:08Speaker 2: I would think, yeah, yeah, they could line up and
- 7:10Speaker 2: we won by three sets.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Where the tight end is the X.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Right got a couple of times a game, you don't.
- 7:16Speaker 1: That's not going to become a base offense, right. So
- 7:19Speaker 1: the Eagles will have to get creative here. They will
- 7:21Speaker 1: have to figure out A who they want to elevate
- 7:24Speaker 1: because they will need depth. B. They'll have to figure
- 7:26Speaker 1: out ken Darius Cooper play and would they even expect
- 7:29Speaker 1: him to make a contribution and see what for the
- 7:33Speaker 1: most part, they have to have a base offensive philosophy
- 7:35Speaker 1: for this game. And what does that entail for who's
- 7:38Speaker 1: going to play X and how much? I mean, those
- 7:40Speaker 1: are three pertinent questions going in.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Well, I have a question and you are probably going
- 7:44Speaker 2: to get to the injuries that I wait till you
- 7:46Speaker 2: get to the injuries to ask my question.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Right now.
- 7:48Speaker 2: My question was going to be, is Javon Holland out?
- 7:51Speaker 1: He's all Giants injuries.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Yeah, he's got a neck injury. He's not expected to play.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Because the Giants are a big dime team and when
- 7:59Speaker 2: he got hurt last week, after about twenty snaps, they
- 8:01Speaker 2: didn't play any dime And that's a big deal for
- 8:04Speaker 2: them because they're a big dime team. Because Belton is
- 8:06Speaker 2: the guy who replaced him at safety and he's their
- 8:09Speaker 2: dime and he's kind of a movable chess piece. But
- 8:12Speaker 2: now he had to play safety last week because Holland
- 8:15Speaker 2: was out. So my guess is he's the guy that
- 8:18Speaker 2: will replace Holland and that limits what they do. You know,
- 8:21Speaker 2: as I said, now they have a week to prepare,
- 8:23Speaker 2: so maybe they have another player they're gonna put in
- 8:25Speaker 2: and still play dime. I don't know that, but Belton
- 8:28Speaker 2: he's going to be the safety in Holland spot was soon.
- 8:33Speaker 1: All right, interesting, all right, we'll get to giants, injuries,
- 8:35Speaker 1: all the rest of them in a second. Just on
- 8:37Speaker 1: the good news standpoint for the Eagles, Jeremiah Trotter Junior
- 8:41Speaker 1: had an angle injury. Well, he practice fully on Friday.
- 8:44Speaker 1: He's expected to play. He has no injury designation, and
- 8:47Speaker 1: neither does Grant Calcaterra. He'll be back from the oblique injury.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Landon Dickerson good news, full participation in practice, no injury designation,
- 8:59Speaker 1: and same thing for Dallas Goddard and Moro Ajoemo all
- 9:03Speaker 1: expected to play.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Noe.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Who's going to start at center?
- 9:05Speaker 1: Well, that is the question. And if we're going by
- 9:07Speaker 1: how they practiced in front of the media, and I
- 9:10Speaker 1: know sometimes people think this, but it's usually not true.
- 9:13Speaker 1: They don't do something for ten minutes and then completely
- 9:15Speaker 1: change it up once everybody goes away. So it looks
- 9:17Speaker 1: like Brett Toath will start at center and Landon Dickerson
- 9:21Speaker 1: will start at left guard. Now do I think during
- 9:26Speaker 1: this is just my suspecting note, knowing how the teams operate.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Do I think the contingency plan is to maybe flip
- 9:31Speaker 1: him if they have to, or play Dickerson at center
- 9:34Speaker 1: if everything is failing. Yeah, I would imagine that that's
- 9:37Speaker 1: a consideration.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Well, I guess extra Lawrence will be lining up on
- 9:41Speaker 2: top once or twice a week.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Oh, he will be.
- 9:44Speaker 3: He will be one thing we could see in the
- 9:47Speaker 3: future because they just got him back and he worked
- 9:50Speaker 3: this week in practice. Sua Petta, who could play both
- 9:53Speaker 3: right and left guard. If down the line, if Jurggens
- 9:59Speaker 3: is out of extended time for whatever reason, not just injury,
- 10:02Speaker 3: if he gets hurt again, has back problems, which we
- 10:04Speaker 3: know I had the surgery, would not surprise me if
- 10:07Speaker 3: they would eventually move sue A Peta up to the
- 10:09Speaker 3: fifty three and start them. Why would I say that,
- 10:12Speaker 3: because Brett Toaf is just not a starting quality player.
- 10:16Speaker 3: You know, we're trying to be nice here. It's been
- 10:18Speaker 3: a good story. You know, he's been off the roster.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Stott loves him, but you know what, you got to
- 10:23Speaker 3: get better football play. And sue Petta started games in
- 10:25Speaker 3: his career, and it's the guy who Stout knows very well,
- 10:29Speaker 3: and he's back, Jeff. They've been looking for this backup guard.
- 10:31Speaker 3: They also need a backup center. Yeah, they got to
- 10:34Speaker 3: be better. And the run blocking guys. We've talked about
- 10:37Speaker 3: this now for seven weeks. It's shocked, been shockingly disappointing. Again,
- 10:42Speaker 3: trying to be nice, but Brett Toaf is just not
- 10:45Speaker 3: a starting quality player. He's not a backup wise, he's
- 10:48Speaker 3: not great either. Right, this is what they this is
- 10:50Speaker 3: what they're dealing with right now.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Hey, this is let's be fair because we credit when
- 10:54Speaker 1: it's due, and then we have to call out things
- 10:56Speaker 1: that aren't that don't go as to plan. You didn't.
- 10:58Speaker 1: It didn't work out with Trevor Keith, and it didn't
- 11:00Speaker 1: work out with Kenyan Green, and that has left the
- 11:02Speaker 1: Eagles in this position.
- 11:04Speaker 2: So I know, just as an aside that plays into
- 11:07Speaker 2: what you're saying is Saquon Barkley has the highest percentage
- 11:11Speaker 2: in the NFL of runs that gain no yards or
- 11:14Speaker 2: lose yards, the highest percentage.
- 11:16Speaker 1: I believe it's fifty eight percent, Greg if.
- 11:18Speaker 3: I know it's over fifty.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Yeah, it's amazing. People keep asking us what's wrong with Barkley.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Is it's got to be something Barkley. I say, the
- 11:27Speaker 1: numbers are the numbers every more than half the time
- 11:31Speaker 1: he touches the ball, he has stopped behind the line
- 11:33Speaker 1: of scrimmage or at That's not anything that he can do.
- 11:37Speaker 1: It's just the way it is, Adam to one thing.
- 11:39Speaker 1: On your point, we always talk about the answers to
- 11:42Speaker 1: the test. Now we don't know. We'll see elevations will
- 11:45Speaker 1: be out four o'clock by four o'clock Saturday. If Drew
- 11:48Speaker 1: Kendall is elevated, perhaps that is a sign that they've
- 11:52Speaker 1: seen some development over him. And if it's not through
- 11:55Speaker 1: a opeta, maybe Drew Kendall as somebody they feel can
- 11:57Speaker 1: go in. I don't fifth th not ovated, right, I'm sorry, Active,
- 12:03Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 12:03Speaker 3: What is your sense?
- 12:05Speaker 2: Do you have a sense of how the staff feels
- 12:07Speaker 2: about Kendall because I liked the college tap a lot.
- 12:10Speaker 3: Yeah, they did not see him as a guard. I
- 12:12Speaker 3: know he can play it.
- 12:13Speaker 2: They saw well he played center at Boston College.
- 12:15Speaker 3: I understand, I know, but they they he took some
- 12:17Speaker 3: reps of Guarden College and some in training camp, but
- 12:21Speaker 3: he's really built like a center. I didn't speak to
- 12:24Speaker 3: one team that saw him to play as a guard.
- 12:26Speaker 3: To be bounce with you, but there is where they yes,
- 12:31Speaker 3: you know, when you're in active every week, they don't
- 12:33Speaker 3: think you're ready. But man, at some point I've talked
- 12:39Speaker 3: I've talked to some ARIA scouts in recent weeks about it,
- 12:41Speaker 3: who I knew had the area last year, and they
- 12:44Speaker 3: felt he was an okay backup center type In terms
- 12:47Speaker 3: of projection, you would have to wait a little bit.
- 12:50Speaker 3: And that's kind of what's happening here. So Jeff as
- 12:52Speaker 3: we sent him back to you. You know, the lack
- 12:55Speaker 3: of depth of this football team has been it's been
- 12:56Speaker 3: an underdiscussed story. It's been a little bit worse. Let's
- 13:00Speaker 3: call it like it is. And we probably anticipated probably
- 13:03Speaker 3: sure that's.
- 13:04Speaker 1: On the old line. I mean that's the area that
- 13:05Speaker 1: they usually aren't, you know, the ever thin and we
- 13:10Speaker 1: mentioned the misses there. They tried. I just didn't do
- 13:13Speaker 1: a good job of finding the right people. And I
- 13:15Speaker 1: will say this, I'd be very very surprised if they
- 13:18Speaker 1: don't have I mean, everybody has a contingency plan, but
- 13:21Speaker 1: I'd be very surprised if things get out of hand early,
- 13:25Speaker 1: if they don't make some kind of move. You know,
- 13:28Speaker 1: you think about the Winston Justice game from so long ago.
- 13:31Speaker 1: There was no contingency plan. They were just gonna throw
- 13:34Speaker 1: them out there and let them get beat over and over.
- 13:36Speaker 1: I would be surprised if things are terrible and Jalen
- 13:40Speaker 1: Hurts is getting sacked left and right for the one quarter.
- 13:43Speaker 1: If they don't make some kind of move in the game.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Well, what other other than Dickerson? And the problem with
- 13:48Speaker 3: with Lennon Dixon is he doesn't have just one injury.
- 13:50Speaker 3: He has now a back injury, is the left ankle injury.
- 13:54Speaker 3: I mean, Crouch trying to play center might be a
- 13:56Speaker 3: little bit harder for him. And then now Drew Kennall.
- 13:59Speaker 3: The only other choices Drew Kendall.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Or Or Prior. And I know they don't like to
- 14:02Speaker 1: play him on the left side, but again, if you
- 14:04Speaker 1: are a guard and you need something to do, Matt
- 14:08Speaker 1: Pryor can go in there and at least block a guy,
- 14:11Speaker 1: you know.
- 14:12Speaker 3: In terms of playing left guard and moving in the center.
- 14:14Speaker 3: And Matt Prior has has numerous starts in the NFL.
- 14:18Speaker 3: You're not a quality player overall, but he has played
- 14:22Speaker 3: a lot in the league. But he's been a right guard,
- 14:24Speaker 3: not a left guard. That's I get it.
- 14:26Speaker 1: But if you again, this is like if everything fails,
- 14:29Speaker 1: you put him at left guard, you move Dickerson the
- 14:30Speaker 1: center and hope that you can, you know, manage your way.
- 14:33Speaker 3: We did see him, for the record, we did see him.
- 14:36Speaker 3: I remember being surprised, Oh wow, he's actually lining up
- 14:38Speaker 3: in left guard in training camp. Wasn't very much though.
- 14:40Speaker 3: It was maybe one or two practice and that was it. Right,
- 14:43Speaker 3: so it and and coaches have told me offensive line
- 14:45Speaker 3: coaches told me, no matter what the media thinks of
- 14:47Speaker 3: the fans think, it's actually very difficult if you're a
- 14:49Speaker 3: guy who's been playing on the right side of your
- 14:51Speaker 3: entire career, whether you move to left guard to left
- 14:53Speaker 3: tackle very hard, Yeah, exactly.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Yeah, Prior does have left side experience. He played left tackle.
- 14:59Speaker 1: I think snares he.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Say a little bit, but left hard, and that it's
- 15:04Speaker 3: we'll see what happens. They're in a tough way. Trevor Keegan,
- 15:07Speaker 3: by the way, is on the Cowboys injury reserve. What
- 15:11Speaker 3: happened to him?
- 15:12Speaker 1: There you go, all right, Giants injuries. They're gonna be
- 15:14Speaker 1: without a starting cornerback. Paulson a debo, the best one, Yeah,
- 15:19Speaker 1: definitely their best one out with a knee injury. Chauncey
- 15:24Speaker 1: Gulston defensive lineman also outed. Greg, He's what is he
- 15:27Speaker 1: sort of a two way lineman for them? Or is
- 15:29Speaker 1: he mostly a couple of rotational rotational?
- 15:33Speaker 2: Yes, plays inside outside, you know, probably in the fifteen
- 15:36Speaker 2: to twenty snap range.
- 15:38Speaker 3: A game kind of player.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Right, Okay, the big one Brian Burns questionable now. He
- 15:44Speaker 1: the most he did at practice was Friday and limited.
- 15:47Speaker 1: But I believe is Adam you said in our podcast
- 15:49Speaker 1: on Thursday, he's expected to give it a go and
- 15:53Speaker 1: go play right.
- 15:55Speaker 3: Good? What is his injury, Adam, He has a hip injury.
- 15:58Speaker 3: So their plan all week was to limit his work,
- 16:00Speaker 3: which they did. He said, he good, he's good to go,
- 16:02Speaker 3: and they did what they said they were gonna do.
- 16:04Speaker 3: They're gonna limit him, and he got a little bit
- 16:06Speaker 3: of work on Friday. Now, anytimes a guy's got a
- 16:10Speaker 3: questionable tag, it's usually even if the team says he's
- 16:13Speaker 3: gonna play, it's got to get through pregame warmups. But
- 16:15Speaker 3: this guy's are playing so well. Greg, and I don't
- 16:19Speaker 3: know about you, if he couldn't play for some reason,
- 16:21Speaker 3: that that's a that's a difference maker to me.
- 16:23Speaker 2: I would agree with that really good player. They use
- 16:26Speaker 2: him in multiple ways. It would probably change how they
- 16:29Speaker 2: have to go about doing certain things.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Absolutely, Greg, you mentioned Javon Holland, he's doubtful with the knee,
- 16:35Speaker 1: so that's usually a long long shot to play. We'll
- 16:38Speaker 1: see what happens with him. D L. Davidson another defensive
- 16:41Speaker 1: lineman questionable, he was limited on Friday. And kicker Graham
- 16:45Speaker 1: gonno questionable. Okay, he will kick. He's questionable. But I
- 16:51Speaker 1: was about to say he practiced fully all week long.
- 16:53Speaker 1: And you know what, after what happened to the Giants
- 16:55Speaker 1: last week, it don't matter if his arm is falling off,
- 16:58Speaker 1: he's kicking the ball.
- 16:59Speaker 3: Well, the only one, by the way, the kid, the
- 17:01Speaker 3: kid who got cut, is now in their practice squad. Mccammney. Yeah,
- 17:04Speaker 3: but good, what what what? What it is is he's
- 17:07Speaker 3: got to get Graham got to get through the Saturday walkthrough. Yeah,
- 17:10Speaker 3: God forbid something. Now they have the other kid.
- 17:12Speaker 1: I wouldn't even bring him to the walk through if
- 17:14Speaker 1: I were the giant up the bubble.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Yeah, well no, but the problem is, see here, the
- 17:19Speaker 3: problem is you can't once you get past four pay
- 17:22Speaker 3: meter and you can't bring the kid up for the
- 17:23Speaker 3: practice squad. If he gets hurt, then the punter's got
- 17:25Speaker 3: to do it. You know, you don't really have anybody else.
- 17:27Speaker 1: No, well, the punter might be better after what I
- 17:29Speaker 1: saw from that guy.
- 17:30Speaker 3: But yeah, no, the good the good news for them
- 17:32Speaker 3: is Darius Slayton was cleared on Friday from the Hampshire Injura.
- 17:35Speaker 3: And we know over the years, going back to when
- 17:37Speaker 3: he was drafted with Daniel Jones of twenty nineteen. Is
- 17:39Speaker 3: that some moments against the Eagles? Uh?
- 17:41Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, I was gonna say if if they already
- 17:44Speaker 1: beat the Eagles with one Dale Robinson and the little
- 17:46Speaker 1: Jordan Humphrey, I'm sure Darius Slayton just only adds to
- 17:50Speaker 1: their passing game. All right, cool, let's move on. Let's
- 17:53Speaker 1: get into the breakdown of this game. Let's talk about
- 17:55Speaker 1: this Eagles offense against the Giants defense.
- 17:58Speaker 3: Greg.
- 17:58Speaker 1: When we last did our preview show for the first meeting,
- 18:02Speaker 1: you said that the Giants kind of had an interesting
- 18:05Speaker 1: pass rush package where they take Dexter Lawrence off the field.
- 18:08Speaker 1: I'm wondering, in the last time at times, right, is
- 18:11Speaker 1: that still what they do?
- 18:14Speaker 3: No, I mean the last couple I mean.
- 18:17Speaker 2: In the Eagles game, and it was prior to the
- 18:19Speaker 2: Eagles game that the week prior to that, Darius Alexander
- 18:22Speaker 2: predominantly played in their dime with Burns, Carter and Thibodeaux.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Thibodeaux normally comes inside. They do that, although there are
- 18:31Speaker 2: dime snaps where Carter comes inside, where Burns is a
- 18:34Speaker 2: stand up joker, But the higher percentage of what they
- 18:38Speaker 2: normally do in their dime pass rush front is Thibodeau
- 18:42Speaker 2: is inside essentially at de tackle and Carter and Burns
- 18:45Speaker 2: are on the edge. In the last two weeks, it's
- 18:47Speaker 2: predominantly been Lawrence. The week prior to the first Eagles game,
- 18:51Speaker 2: it was Alexander, and that's why we talked about it
- 18:53Speaker 2: a lot.
- 18:55Speaker 1: So that's interesting, all right. I mean, I listen that.
- 18:57Speaker 1: That shows you one thing, Odam, They've got depth on
- 19:01Speaker 1: that defensive front. They showed it against the Eagles. They
- 19:04Speaker 1: showed it at times against the Broncos. I always wonder
- 19:08Speaker 1: about the fourth quarter of Broncos games in Denver because
- 19:10Speaker 1: of the altitude and getting a little a little too
- 19:13Speaker 1: tired out, and maybe that was part of it. But
- 19:15Speaker 1: this is not the same old Giants. I mean, they
- 19:16Speaker 1: can rush the passer.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Yeah, their front is they've been you know, say what
- 19:20Speaker 2: you want, but they've been competitive with since Darts been
- 19:23Speaker 2: the quarterback. Obviously that has no I don't want to
- 19:26Speaker 2: say that has no bearing on their defense, but I
- 19:28Speaker 2: mean their defense do lost the lineup and play, but
- 19:31Speaker 2: they've been a competitive football team, you know, So we'll see.
- 19:35Speaker 2: But yeah, but defensively, you know, Davidson if he can't go,
- 19:41Speaker 2: you know, obviously they do have a lot of depth upfront,
- 19:44Speaker 2: but if certain guys can't go, that that changes that,
- 19:48Speaker 2: you know, I think Holland, as I mentioned earlier, that's
- 19:50Speaker 2: that to me is a pretty big loss because now
- 19:52Speaker 2: I'm curious to see because if they still want to
- 19:55Speaker 2: go Dime, I mean, I think the next man up,
- 19:59Speaker 2: quite frankly, would probably be Bo Braid, who's a you know,
- 20:03Speaker 2: a Maryland kid who you know, does not have as
- 20:06Speaker 2: a safety I'm talking about. I assume the corner that
- 20:10Speaker 2: will play opposite Flott, and by the way, Flot's played
- 20:12Speaker 2: pretty well guys is going to be Deontay Banks.
- 20:15Speaker 3: So yeah, yeah, who else do they have? They don't no,
- 20:19Speaker 3: they're pretty much yeah, they're pretty much bare bones there.
- 20:23Speaker 3: So you know, by the way Darris Alexander. Had he
- 20:26Speaker 3: not been older, you know he is. I think he's
- 20:29Speaker 3: twenty five years old, he could he would have been
- 20:31Speaker 3: drafted away earlier. I mean not the third round is late.
- 20:33Speaker 3: But out of Toledo by the way, Eagles favorite school,
- 20:36Speaker 3: Jeff as you know.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Of course that's right. Where is Max and hook these days?
- 20:41Speaker 1: By the way, he went after the Raiders I think.
- 20:43Speaker 3: Or someone he did signed with a practice squad.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, I think I evaluated him too
- 20:49Speaker 2: coming out of college.
- 20:50Speaker 1: There you go. So last week, right, we saw the
- 20:54Speaker 1: Eagles had a wrinkle to their offense. It was going
- 20:56Speaker 1: under center sixteen times.
- 20:59Speaker 3: And having I had nineteen times.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Well you know what they did it three two toush
- 21:05Speaker 1: pushes and a victory formation. So I just I took
- 21:09Speaker 1: that out. I met like that. You're probably right, yeah,
- 21:11Speaker 1: executing offensive plays out of it.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Of course, they ran most of the time out of it.
- 21:15Speaker 2: They didn't throw very much out of it, and I'm
- 21:17Speaker 2: curious to see if that's the next step.
- 21:20Speaker 1: No, that's what I was going to ask. Is that
- 21:22Speaker 1: something that we think they did game specifically just to
- 21:26Speaker 1: try to add a wrinkle to their offense or is
- 21:28Speaker 1: it something because of the passing game success they had
- 21:31Speaker 1: out of it that they may want to try again.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Well, I look again, I don't know what Nick Siriani
- 21:37Speaker 2: and Kevin Petulo think. I would continue to put him
- 21:42Speaker 2: under center. I would expand the past game element. Now,
- 21:46Speaker 2: the thing we don't know for sure is if Jalen
- 21:49Speaker 2: is comfortable with that, because when you do turn your
- 21:51Speaker 2: back to the defense, obviously things change without sort of
- 21:55Speaker 2: a security blanket, and AJ Brown he may not feel
- 21:58Speaker 2: as comfortable that, Hey, if it's not there, I can
- 22:01Speaker 2: just throw it to Aj. You know, because normally, when
- 22:04Speaker 2: you put a quarterback under center and go play action,
- 22:07Speaker 2: normally you're asking your quarterback when he snaps his head
- 22:10Speaker 2: around to really read one defender because you can't look
- 22:13Speaker 2: at five guys after you do that. You just don't
- 22:16Speaker 2: have time. Yeah, normally you don't look at five guys anyway.
- 22:19Speaker 2: But the point I'm making is you pretty much ask
- 22:21Speaker 2: your quarterback to get eyes on one guy and then
- 22:24Speaker 2: you work from there and you can either make the
- 22:26Speaker 2: throw that you'd ideally like to make based on the
- 22:28Speaker 2: play call, or then you've got to just go to
- 22:31Speaker 2: whether it's a secondary rider or checkdown, you know, And
- 22:35Speaker 2: but I mean I, like I said, I would personally
- 22:37Speaker 2: like to see them expand on that and make it
- 22:39Speaker 2: a part of their pass game.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Greg. I was watching that seventh rewatching the seventy nine
- 22:45Speaker 1: yard touchdown that they threw going through under center play action,
- 22:50Speaker 1: and I noticed that when Hurts took the snap and
- 22:53Speaker 1: handed it off, he didn't he didn't do a full
- 22:56Speaker 1: turnaround like sometimes you see on the play action. He
- 22:59Speaker 1: actually pivoted sort of fake pivoted to the right and
- 23:03Speaker 1: then threw it. And I was curious if that is
- 23:05Speaker 1: sort of a happy marriage of running under center without
- 23:09Speaker 1: having quarterback turn his entire back.
- 23:11Speaker 2: The only thing I'd say there, Jeff, and we don't
- 23:13Speaker 2: know the answer to that is that might have been
- 23:15Speaker 2: specific to that play because they knew that Harrison Smith
- 23:19Speaker 2: was down low and they knew that they had Smith
- 23:22Speaker 2: won all one, and there was no need to play
- 23:24Speaker 2: it out as a.
- 23:25Speaker 3: True play action and make it really look like a run.
- 23:29Speaker 3: They had pre snap what they wanted, right, so they
- 23:32Speaker 3: they didn't need to quote unquote impact the defense.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Sure, you know that makes sense. Yeah, I mean I.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Don't know if that's the reason, but that that would
- 23:40Speaker 3: make sense to me.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're gonna run some bootlegs, that's a little
- 23:43Speaker 1: different story. You want to really sell that run and then.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Right and if you're just kind of running a normal
- 23:49Speaker 2: play action play and you really want the second level
- 23:51Speaker 2: defenders to really, you know, be impacted by by the
- 23:54Speaker 2: run action, then you do a little more, you know,
- 23:57Speaker 2: something that's that's a little more a little strong.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Learn its look.
- 24:02Speaker 1: So what do you think the Giants might do from
- 24:05Speaker 1: a blitz or man for his zone coverage against the
- 24:08Speaker 1: Eagles compared to what they did the first time?
- 24:14Speaker 2: Well, that could be dictated by a J. Brown being out.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Who knows, you know, if they'll play more man coverage.
- 24:19Speaker 2: As I said, flots actually played pretty well this year.
- 24:22Speaker 2: You know, I know he doesn't have the size that
- 24:24Speaker 2: you ideally like, but there's a toughness to him. He's
- 24:27Speaker 2: played pretty well. Banks is a guy that no one
- 24:31Speaker 2: can figure out. Maybe the Giants can. They know him,
- 24:33Speaker 2: We don't. But there's a guy with starting talent in
- 24:37Speaker 2: the league. But you know, we all hear the same thing.
- 24:40Speaker 2: He just doesn't know what it's like to be a pro.
- 24:42Speaker 2: I mean this is three years in the league now,
- 24:44Speaker 2: I think and if that's the case, who.
- 24:46Speaker 3: Knows if he's ever going to be a pro. We
- 24:48Speaker 3: don't know, but he's very talented.
- 24:51Speaker 2: That's that's a hard question to answer, you know exactly,
- 24:54Speaker 2: you know what they're going to do in this given game.
- 24:58Speaker 2: I mean, you know, I'm trying to think back to
- 25:02Speaker 2: to you know, to what they did.
- 25:04Speaker 3: The last game.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Look, the last game, they they did rush five or
- 25:08Speaker 2: more on ten of hurtz thirty eight dropbacks. You know,
- 25:13Speaker 2: will they I mean, and obviously they had that interception
- 25:17Speaker 2: by flot which was in the high red zone and
- 25:19Speaker 2: they win zero, and it was the first time in
- 25:21Speaker 2: the game they win zero.
- 25:22Speaker 3: We all know the result of that. It's hard to know.
- 25:27Speaker 2: I mean, you know, the Eagles were awful on third
- 25:29Speaker 2: down in that game. They were one for nine.
- 25:32Speaker 1: By the way, that zero that you know, we broke
- 25:35Speaker 1: that down on inside the tape and I know a
- 25:38Speaker 1: lot of people felt that AJ Brown should get the ball,
- 25:40Speaker 1: but Greg you made an awesome point about, hey, you're zero,
- 25:43Speaker 1: you got to get the ball out. That's usually the
- 25:45Speaker 1: read there. But you know, a week later, he throws
- 25:48Speaker 1: a pass to AJ Brown that we have constantly said
- 25:51Speaker 1: that's not normally the pass he throws, and it was
- 25:53Speaker 1: a beautiful pass, but on the double posts twenty six
- 25:56Speaker 1: yard touchdown. Yeah, so I'm very curious and I'm sure
- 26:00Speaker 1: you are to Adam like which which Jalen Hurts is
- 26:03Speaker 1: coming to this game.
- 26:05Speaker 3: You know, It's funny because in the history of ours
- 26:08Speaker 3: three doing the show, there's sometimes when we feel like
- 26:10Speaker 3: a j bra I mean, it hurts a feeling. It
- 26:13Speaker 3: like there's just something that tells you that this is
- 26:15Speaker 3: the week. And sometimes they're right, sometimes you're wrong. But
- 26:18Speaker 3: it's hard because you see the way we know he's
- 26:20Speaker 3: got a great arm, right, I mean, this is that's
- 26:22Speaker 3: not the problem. It's it's so many different different play
- 26:27Speaker 3: callers in his career. It's not having the same personnel
- 26:30Speaker 3: the offense now, although the offensive line we've said for
- 26:32Speaker 3: pass pro has been mostly fantastic this season, but he's
- 26:35Speaker 3: not a part of the run. They're trying to make
- 26:37Speaker 3: Hurts a part of the wrong game, but it hasn't worked.
- 26:39Speaker 3: Neither is it worked for Barclay. So there's not a
- 26:42Speaker 3: lot of continuity with their offense, Jeff. Right now, they can't.
- 26:44Speaker 3: They're trying to. They're still trying to figure out what
- 26:47Speaker 3: they want to be well, they want to be a
- 26:48Speaker 3: running team, but they can't run it. And the second
- 26:50Speaker 3: half the became a passive team and it was beautiful.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Now you like it more on schedule, but the bottom
- 26:55Speaker 3: lines made big time throws. There's opportunities here. A debo's
- 26:59Speaker 3: not playing. The weather's going to be fine. It's not
- 27:01Speaker 3: a weather issue. There will be Here's the deal, Jeff,
- 27:05Speaker 3: there is a center back to you. You got to
- 27:07Speaker 3: feel that he goes will be able to protect. We
- 27:09Speaker 3: know that the Giants have a really good rush, but
- 27:12Speaker 3: that's not a problem. They're gonna take some shot plays.
- 27:16Speaker 3: But it's gonna start with a run game. Every game
- 27:18Speaker 3: they try to establish the run whatever you want to
- 27:20Speaker 3: call it. Right most of the time it's like, oh wow,
- 27:23Speaker 3: two great runs, and then they keep trying. It doesn't work,
- 27:25Speaker 3: so they got to throw the football. You got you
- 27:27Speaker 3: got to do something to move with the football. I
- 27:28Speaker 3: think it's gonna be the same approach, and don't think
- 27:30Speaker 3: I feel strongly about it. I don't see them in
- 27:33Speaker 3: the first quarter hurts Strauss back ten times. They have
- 27:36Speaker 3: the ball, and they run fifteen plays and they throw
- 27:39Speaker 3: twelve times. That's not before last year before Barkley got here. Yes,
- 27:44Speaker 3: that's not what they are anymore.
- 27:46Speaker 1: I don't feel strange saying this, even though the Eagles
- 27:49Speaker 1: are five and two and last had a good offensive performance, Greg,
- 27:52Speaker 1: But I feel like it's I don't want to say
- 27:55Speaker 1: now or never, but you got the bye week after this.
- 27:58Speaker 1: I feel like they've got to figure out some kind
- 28:01Speaker 1: of a running game. Would be a marriage between an
- 28:04Speaker 1: intermediary passing game and a run game to go with
- 28:10Speaker 1: this shot play offense that they got. I mean, I'm
- 28:12Speaker 1: sure they loved the twenty eight points last week, but
- 28:14Speaker 1: we all know it's really hard to get all your
- 28:16Speaker 1: points scoring on third and fourth down.
- 28:20Speaker 2: It's a great point, and you know the question that
- 28:22Speaker 2: would come up, and there's no question that against last
- 28:24Speaker 2: week's given opponent that Jalen Hurts played a great football
- 28:27Speaker 2: games that's not debatable. It was an interesting defense, and
- 28:31Speaker 2: they're not going to get a similar look this week.
- 28:34Speaker 2: I mean, there were five six there were six man pressures.
- 28:37Speaker 2: I think there were seven, And because Brian Flores does
- 28:41Speaker 2: not play man coverage in the way we think of
- 28:44Speaker 2: man coverage, now you have five in coverage playing sort
- 28:47Speaker 2: of match zone, and there are a lot of voids,
- 28:50Speaker 2: and you know, look to Hurtz's credit, he made the throws.
- 28:54Speaker 2: I mean, you still have to execute the plays, and
- 28:56Speaker 2: he executed at a high level last week clearly. I
- 28:59Speaker 2: mean he only missed four throws. And you know you
- 29:02Speaker 2: you referenced the twenty six yard touchdown to A. J.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Brown.
- 29:05Speaker 2: That was just a brilliant play. That was great timing,
- 29:09Speaker 2: great anticipation, really precise ball location. I mean, you can't
- 29:13Speaker 2: do it any better than that. We know about the
- 29:15Speaker 2: seventy nine yard touchdown to Smith. You can't grow any.
- 29:18Speaker 3: Better than that.
- 29:19Speaker 2: He moved around a couple of times, kept his eyes up,
- 29:21Speaker 2: and made good throws on third down. You know, he
- 29:25Speaker 2: played really high level football last week. But other than
- 29:29Speaker 2: that game and maybe the second half against the Rams,
- 29:32Speaker 2: it's it's been a struggle in the pass game. So
- 29:35Speaker 2: the larger sample size this year has been a struggling
- 29:38Speaker 2: pass game, not a great pass game. Ideally, you used
- 29:42Speaker 2: last week as a springboard, but the defense they're facing
- 29:45Speaker 2: this week will be totally different than the defense they
- 29:47Speaker 2: faced last week.
- 29:48Speaker 1: Adam Goddard's got to be more involved, especially if they
- 29:51Speaker 1: want to be more successful.
- 29:52Speaker 3: Yeah, yeare Yeah, that's that's I'm glad we brought that
- 29:57Speaker 3: up because you've seen it. Jalen and Dallas. There chemistry.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Andrew and I saw this in training camp on if
- 30:03Speaker 3: you Sault Jeff. We were like, Wow, this is the
- 30:05Speaker 3: most we've really seen them hook up. You've seen it sporadically.
- 30:09Speaker 3: We've seen some good games, no question, yep. But without
- 30:12Speaker 3: without a j Brown and that that size, he's the
- 30:15Speaker 3: We know that DeVante plays bigger than this listed size,
- 30:18Speaker 3: but he's not gonna put on twenty pounds, right he yes,
- 30:22Speaker 3: this this could be a got ter game. Absolutely right.
- 30:24Speaker 3: I agree with you.
- 30:25Speaker 1: All right, So anything left, any leftover thoughts, Greg, Just
- 30:30Speaker 1: on the Eagles offense against this Giants defense. I mean,
- 30:33Speaker 1: I really think protecting hurts or or and how the
- 30:36Speaker 1: Giants rushed the passer. I thought they did a pretty
- 30:39Speaker 1: good job of maintaining that rush discipline that sometimes teams
- 30:42Speaker 1: forget to do against Jalen.
- 30:44Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I think that they can throw the
- 30:48Speaker 2: ball against I know AJ Brown's out, but I think
- 30:51Speaker 2: they can throw the ball against this defense. You know,
- 30:54Speaker 2: I think you've got to test Deontay Banks. He hasn't
- 30:57Speaker 2: played a lot of snaps he's handsy, you know, I
- 31:01Speaker 2: think you have to test him now. The key is protection,
- 31:05Speaker 2: which they did really well last week. By the way,
- 31:07Speaker 2: I thought the Old Lion in terms of past protection
- 31:10Speaker 2: was outstanding last week for the most part. We'll see, obviously,
- 31:14Speaker 2: Tat is going to play center or certainly start at center,
- 31:17Speaker 2: and he's going to get Dexter Lawrence in his face
- 31:20Speaker 2: quite a bit, and we'll see, you know, we'll see
- 31:22Speaker 2: how they handle that. You know, I'm not sure they
- 31:25Speaker 2: can just say to tos Hey, you could block them
- 31:27Speaker 2: one all one. Now you can, depending on what the
- 31:29Speaker 2: play call is obviously, you know, if you're throwing quick
- 31:32Speaker 2: timing throws three step drop timing quick five step timing, yeah,
- 31:37Speaker 2: you know. But if it's third and long and it's
- 31:39Speaker 2: and it's a deeper drop, and you know, we'll see
- 31:42Speaker 2: what they have to do to deal with that. But
- 31:45Speaker 2: you know, with that, with Holland out with a debo out,
- 31:48Speaker 2: I kind of feel like you can throw the ball
- 31:49Speaker 2: on this on this defense. But you know, now, now
- 31:53Speaker 2: can Jalen, you know, use last week as a springboard
- 31:57Speaker 2: and really you know, continue to look.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Sharp, right, like you mentioned, not facing the same team. Yes,
- 32:02Speaker 1: the Vikings have Grenard and they have Dallas Turner. They
- 32:05Speaker 1: didn't have Vankinkle. I think they missed him a lot.
- 32:08Speaker 1: This Giants team, you know, assuming Burns is gonna be
- 32:11Speaker 1: good to go and he, I mean when you did,
- 32:13Speaker 1: this is a totally different animal.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Well, and don't forget you know, you look at the
- 32:17Speaker 2: Thursday night game this week and Minnesota again really struggled
- 32:21Speaker 2: with pressure. Herbert was phenomenal against the Vikings pressure, you know,
- 32:26Speaker 2: and again now they have ten days and I'm certainly
- 32:28Speaker 2: not as smart as Brian Flores, uh, and he certainly
- 32:31Speaker 2: knows his defense way better than I do. But I
- 32:33Speaker 2: think he's gonna have to think about, you know, all
- 32:35Speaker 2: these pressure concepts where you're playing these zone match coverage
- 32:38Speaker 2: coverage behind it.
- 32:39Speaker 3: You know.
- 32:39Speaker 2: I just remember an early playing the game because I
- 32:41Speaker 2: looked at I didn't get through all that tape yet,
- 32:43Speaker 2: but I got through some of it, and I just
- 32:45Speaker 2: remember there was a play where the Chargers did a
- 32:47Speaker 2: great job of just expanding the field horizontally with their
- 32:51Speaker 2: rout concepts, and when you have five and coverage, you
- 32:53Speaker 2: just can't cover to that, right you know. So uh,
- 32:57Speaker 2: you know, I think this is going to be a
- 32:58Speaker 2: really interesting game for the pass game because I think
- 33:01Speaker 2: you can throw against this defense.
- 33:04Speaker 3: Uh and and.
- 33:05Speaker 2: We'll see, we'll see how they feel about it.
- 33:08Speaker 3: Jeff. I'm just gonna say one thing. If it's again
- 33:11Speaker 3: Barkley struggling, then it's God, it's got to get involved,
- 33:16Speaker 3: because I'm taking where Greg is going to talk about,
- 33:19Speaker 3: you can throw. It hurts looks. So his meccounts were
- 33:23Speaker 3: so clean last week. It's someone told me who watched
- 33:26Speaker 3: the tape, So it's the clean s he'd looked seen
- 33:28Speaker 3: him in a while. I don't know what Thursy was
- 33:30Speaker 3: referring to it, because the deep ball was about one
- 33:32Speaker 3: of the best defros of the all season, of any
- 33:34Speaker 3: play of any quarterback. Right. But the bottom line is,
- 33:37Speaker 3: Jeff with got it with Davante Smith. You got at
- 33:41Speaker 3: least two guys, and Johan Dotson is not. He's actually
- 33:43Speaker 3: done a little better. He's gotten a little better. They've
- 33:46Speaker 3: got enough guys and calcul terror by the ways back
- 33:49Speaker 3: I look, I know he's done block very well, but
- 33:51Speaker 3: he can catch. There's enough there from a pass target
- 33:53Speaker 3: group to get this done. I agree with Greg.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Well, it just raises one final point, Jeff before we
- 33:57Speaker 2: move on, how much twelve personnel versus a lot personnel?
- 34:01Speaker 2: I think that's a question because with kal Kata back
- 34:03Speaker 2: and he's a pass catching tight end who can line
- 34:06Speaker 2: up anywhere, is this more of a twelve personnel game?
- 34:09Speaker 3: You know? Do they not feel comfortable with a third
- 34:11Speaker 3: wide out on the field?
- 34:14Speaker 1: All right, let's flip it. Let's talk about this Giants
- 34:16Speaker 1: offense against this Eagles defense. And why don't we start
- 34:20Speaker 1: with Jackson dark Greg he's playing that. The one thing
- 34:25Speaker 1: I've just felt just watching some Giants tape is what's
- 34:27Speaker 1: interesting to me is that they're not sort of coaching
- 34:30Speaker 1: him like a kid, little rookie. I mean, he's being
- 34:33Speaker 1: asked to fling the ball around. It doesn't look like
- 34:36Speaker 1: they're coaching him like a typical rookie that they might
- 34:38Speaker 1: be scared of. Is that would you?
- 34:40Speaker 3: I don't know about that.
- 34:41Speaker 2: I think they're I think with the route concepts, they
- 34:44Speaker 2: are trying to really define the reeds for him, and.
- 34:47Speaker 3: They're really doing a good job with that.
- 34:49Speaker 1: I've been borrowing from college from his college offense.
- 34:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I don't.
- 34:53Speaker 2: I haven't studied Lane Kiffin's offense in detail. You know,
- 34:56Speaker 2: a lot of people say that to me. If you
- 34:59Speaker 2: say that, you got to know Glean Kiffin's offense really well.
- 35:01Speaker 2: I mean I don't. I don't know it really well,
- 35:03Speaker 2: so you know, I can't say that. But what I
- 35:06Speaker 2: do know watching the Giants tape is that there's a
- 35:09Speaker 2: lot of plays and route concepts.
- 35:10Speaker 3: Where they're there.
- 35:12Speaker 2: They are kind of one read throws that the plays
- 35:14Speaker 2: designed for someone. If the route concept works the way
- 35:17Speaker 2: it's supposed to, then he just throws it to that
- 35:19Speaker 2: guy and it works.
- 35:21Speaker 3: You know.
- 35:22Speaker 1: You know, he's guilty of watching too much of that
- 35:24Speaker 1: Eagles game where he was hitting like multiple different.
- 35:27Speaker 2: Well, but that Eagles game, as we discussed after that game,
- 35:30Speaker 2: when we did inside the tape after that game, there
- 35:32Speaker 2: were a number of breakdowns. There were a number of
- 35:34Speaker 2: issues with the Eagles past defense, which you know, I
- 35:38Speaker 2: don't think you can expect that to happen again. No,
- 35:40Speaker 2: remember Carter didn't play, Mitchell got hurt after thirteen naps.
- 35:43Speaker 2: That that's you know, you can't look at quote unquote
- 35:46Speaker 2: breakdowns and say, just like last week he hit Bellinger
- 35:49Speaker 2: for a long touchdown and which there was a breakdown.
- 35:52Speaker 2: You know, you kind of have to dismiss those plays
- 35:54Speaker 2: when you evaluate.
- 35:55Speaker 3: The quarter and the play. I mean, yeah, the.
- 35:58Speaker 2: Theo Johnson play which went on actually was a really
- 36:00Speaker 2: good throw too. I think it was Robinson and it
- 36:03Speaker 2: just bounced off of him, and you get they got lucky.
- 36:06Speaker 2: But I think, don't forget he was only fifteen for
- 36:08Speaker 2: thirty three last week. They're trying to they're trying to
- 36:13Speaker 2: present it cleanly to him.
- 36:15Speaker 3: Now. The legs are a big deal. The legs.
- 36:17Speaker 2: Look, we saw what happened against the Eagles on the
- 36:20Speaker 2: first third down and where they had Bonne, a very
- 36:23Speaker 2: good athlete, spy on him. And it's great to have
- 36:25Speaker 2: a spy. Darius Butler today we were talking. We shot
- 36:28Speaker 2: the matchup show on Friday, and we were talking and
- 36:31Speaker 2: he said something that I said, Oh, you got to
- 36:33Speaker 2: say that on the show coming up. He said, spies
- 36:36Speaker 2: always worked great Monday to Saturday. Then you play the
- 36:41Speaker 2: game and you can't tackle the guy. Yeah, and you
- 36:43Speaker 2: know that's Yeah, it's a.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Great MAC is typically not as good as the I
- 36:50Speaker 1: love it.
- 36:51Speaker 3: I love his term on time and on target at
- 36:54Speaker 3: the quarterback.
- 36:55Speaker 2: Yeah, but I mean it was great when he said that.
- 36:57Speaker 2: It was actually after we shot the show, and we
- 36:59Speaker 2: were just talking because the Eagles Giants game in our
- 37:02Speaker 2: show was a full segment game. We did a full
- 37:03Speaker 2: segment on the game, and so that was the last
- 37:06Speaker 2: segment in our show because we normally get the biggest
- 37:09Speaker 2: rating in part four. And then you know, I actually
- 37:12Speaker 2: showed the touchdown, you know, against Bond as one of
- 37:16Speaker 2: as one of the two plays I did in a
- 37:17Speaker 2: film piece. And you know, Darius, what we were done
- 37:20Speaker 2: with the shoots said, you know, hey, spies always looked
- 37:23Speaker 2: work great Monday to Saturday until you're in the game,
- 37:25Speaker 2: you know, and you know you got to tackle the guy.
- 37:28Speaker 2: And Bonn's a good athlete, but he had no shot,
- 37:31Speaker 2: you know, so it's easy to say, let's spy him.
- 37:33Speaker 2: But you know sometimes that doesn't want to get him. Yeah, yeah,
- 37:37Speaker 2: got to get him to the ground.
- 37:40Speaker 1: He runs like hurts to me like he's he's not
- 37:43Speaker 1: gonna run a four to four and plays by you.
- 37:45Speaker 1: But he can move subtly like he did the ball.
- 37:48Speaker 2: And a little looser, not like ridiculously looser, but a
- 37:53Speaker 2: little looser.
- 37:54Speaker 3: Okay, just sort of Josh more powerful, far more power
- 37:57Speaker 3: power runner.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Yeah, gotcha. So the Giants, it'll be interesting to see
- 38:02Speaker 1: what Darius Slaton added to the mix, if they just
- 38:05Speaker 1: feel a little bit more comfortable opening up the offense
- 38:09Speaker 1: using Slaton trying not to be so one dimensional, or
- 38:13Speaker 1: if they still want to come into Philadelphia.
- 38:15Speaker 2: I think what'll be interesting is this. The Giants over
- 38:18Speaker 2: the last number of weeks have been a heavy base
- 38:20Speaker 2: personnel offensive team. They played a lot with two tight ends,
- 38:24Speaker 2: sometimes with three tight ends. Now, if the Eagles go
- 38:27Speaker 2: base okay, which I don't know, you know, will they
- 38:31Speaker 2: take you know, Degene won't come off the field because
- 38:33Speaker 2: he'll play corner opposite Mitchell in the base, so Degene
- 38:36Speaker 2: will still be on the field. Will they do what
- 38:38Speaker 2: they did last week where Campbell in their five to
- 38:41Speaker 2: two front is the edge player and Dean is the
- 38:44Speaker 2: stacked backer along with the Bond. My guess is that's
- 38:47Speaker 2: what they'll do, because who's the other edge player.
- 38:51Speaker 1: That's a great point. This is one of those opportunities
- 38:54Speaker 1: where you can really put Campbell on the edges because
- 38:56Speaker 1: right now you got Jelex Hunt, you have.
- 38:59Speaker 2: Patrick Johnson and Patrick Johnson, and I don't think they
- 39:03Speaker 2: want playing very much in their base defense small.
- 39:06Speaker 1: Because he small two and twenty pounds. They're gonna run
- 39:08Speaker 1: it with Scataboo right at him every time they can.
- 39:11Speaker 2: So, I mean, I would think that you're gonna see
- 39:13Speaker 2: a lot of I would think, again, you know, we
- 39:15Speaker 2: we have these conversations. We're not in the meetings, you know.
- 39:18Speaker 2: I'm trying to interpret from film, you know, try to
- 39:20Speaker 2: pay it forward as it were, and see what the
- 39:23Speaker 2: you know, interpret what they might do going forward. I
- 39:26Speaker 2: would think that's what they would do. That Campbell would
- 39:28Speaker 2: play on the edge in their five to two front,
- 39:30Speaker 2: and Dean, who's a very quick, trigger physical despite his size,
- 39:36Speaker 2: you know, player in the run game. You know, because
- 39:38Speaker 2: scatter Bow is your classic grind it out physical, He's
- 39:43Speaker 2: gonna look for contact. He's not necessarily shifty the way
- 39:47Speaker 2: you think of shifty, but he gets hard yards.
- 39:50Speaker 3: Right.
- 39:50Speaker 1: So Adam, how about this though, to Greg's point, let's
- 39:53Speaker 1: expand on that. Let's say the Giants come out three
- 39:56Speaker 1: wide on first down there, right, they're an eleven personnel.
- 40:00Speaker 1: They still want to run the ball. You know that
- 40:02Speaker 1: you're the Eagles. You may want to have Jihad Campbell
- 40:05Speaker 1: out there on the edge opposite Hunt and Nikobe Dean
- 40:08Speaker 1: as your linebacker opposite ball and just to not have
- 40:11Speaker 1: out there so much and being light on the edges.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, and by the way Nikobe's built up
- 40:16Speaker 3: his body last two years. I mean, I remember when
- 40:18Speaker 3: he first came in here, we were like, wow, he's
- 40:21Speaker 3: really small.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:22Speaker 3: Then we went to one training camp, We're like, wow,
- 40:24Speaker 3: he put on a lot of masks on his frame.
- 40:26Speaker 3: So yeah, But just to get back to the edge
- 40:30Speaker 3: thing that they could play Carter and a wide nine,
- 40:33Speaker 3: which they've done a little bit. They've got Ojomo, he
- 40:35Speaker 3: could do a little bit of that.
- 40:37Speaker 2: Well, that would happen in past for a situation.
- 40:39Speaker 3: Right right right now in base but I understanding past.
- 40:41Speaker 3: I'm just I'm looking at pass for situations. What will
- 40:44Speaker 3: they do because they're so light. Yes, they're down to
- 40:48Speaker 3: three guys. IS's gonna have to I would sooner'll start over.
- 40:52Speaker 3: Patrick Johnson, Patrick Johnson, is you know what? Greg and
- 40:55Speaker 3: Jeff a former Giant by the way, an Eagle again, Yeah,
- 40:58Speaker 3: he's not bad.
- 40:59Speaker 2: He's done a nice to them, good snaps. There's about it.
- 41:02Speaker 3: Yep. And then now the only guy on the practice
- 41:04Speaker 3: squad they could potentially bring up, by the way, he's
- 41:07Speaker 3: never played in the game. Is Antoine Powell Ryland, who
- 41:09Speaker 3: they've already cut once, let's be realistic, and he's a
- 41:12Speaker 3: pass rusher, So I don't know if they would.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Plus, I mean if I would have to think they're
- 41:17Speaker 1: going to try to use the if they use their
- 41:18Speaker 1: two elevations, one's going to be on an offensive line
- 41:21Speaker 1: man and one will probably be on a wide receiver.
- 41:24Speaker 1: So I don't know if they're.
- 41:25Speaker 3: Well, yeah, Sue Pett Holland Pierce's I'd be stunned. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 41:32Speaker 3: the international kid. And then it's a PETA petal would
- 41:35Speaker 3: be make a ton of sense. Could play either guard spot, yeah,
- 41:39Speaker 3: the receiver. Now, if if Darius Cooper, by the way,
- 41:42Speaker 3: is ready, they don't need to they could just they
- 41:44Speaker 3: could just well they'd have to clear spot, but he
- 41:47Speaker 3: could certainly play as their fifth receiver. True. If they
- 41:50Speaker 3: don't think he's ready to do that, then they could
- 41:52Speaker 3: go to Terras Marshall, who who? Man? Did he look
- 41:54Speaker 3: good in O THF. I know it's before he got hurt,
- 41:57Speaker 3: really good.
- 41:58Speaker 1: Well, the problem is he also look good in training camp.
- 42:01Speaker 1: Everybody seemed to look good and hurt. Yeah, yeah, that's right.
- 42:04Speaker 1: He did get hurt for a little while. But before
- 42:05Speaker 1: he did, he he looked pretty good. I mean, John,
- 42:08Speaker 1: he had the best camp of anybody, and he's been
- 42:10Speaker 1: absent from the office.
- 42:12Speaker 2: AARs Marshall is a guy that confused me because I
- 42:14Speaker 2: liked him coming out of LSU. We could line up
- 42:16Speaker 2: inside outside. He had some moments with Carolina where it
- 42:19Speaker 2: looked like he'd be a nice player, maybe not a star,
- 42:22Speaker 2: but a nice, you know player, And then he seemed
- 42:25Speaker 2: like he fell off the face of the earth.
- 42:27Speaker 3: What did they They got realed down on him. Their
- 42:29Speaker 3: former personnel staff who drafted him, by the way, they
- 42:32Speaker 3: liked him just like you did. They loved this college tape.
- 42:35Speaker 3: No one argued when he was a second round pick.
- 42:36Speaker 3: But yeah, not a great practice player. And when also
- 42:41Speaker 3: when coaches, this is what happens when coaches are they
- 42:43Speaker 3: make the game day call where they don't want to
- 42:46Speaker 3: use the player. You kind of know where the players
- 42:47Speaker 3: at and they moved on to the Raiders, the Niners,
- 42:49Speaker 3: and now he's here with Eagles.
- 42:50Speaker 2: And as you know, guys, sometimes when coaches get down
- 42:53Speaker 2: on a guy, no matter what he does after that,
- 42:55Speaker 2: just it doesn't matter.
- 42:58Speaker 1: We've seen that here, yeah, I mean, you know, some
- 43:00Speaker 1: guys have actually thought got like Josh Job has gone
- 43:03Speaker 1: on and played well.
- 43:04Speaker 2: Josh Job is the best outside corner on the Seahawks,
- 43:07Speaker 2: and their defense is playing at a really high level.
- 43:09Speaker 1: Exactly the point. Yeah, one man's junk is another's treasure,
- 43:12Speaker 1: is what they said.
- 43:15Speaker 3: Yeah, Jeff, heat Now, I'm not blaming the coaching. I
- 43:18Speaker 3: just know for a fact that the kid just struggled here.
- 43:21Speaker 3: Yeah who Joe Yes, struggling mightily here, really badly. He's
- 43:25Speaker 3: really good in Seattle. He's there now, he's their best corner. Jeff.
- 43:29Speaker 1: Okay, what do you think the Saints are saying about
- 43:31Speaker 1: Zach Bonn right now?
- 43:32Speaker 3: I mean it's well, they're playing a different position.
- 43:35Speaker 1: But yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, all right, So look, it's
- 43:39Speaker 1: gonna be It's gonna be Killy Ringo as we just
- 43:41Speaker 1: talked about, and unfortunately for the Eagles there's no there's
- 43:45Speaker 1: really no real good contingency plan because Dori Jackson's out
- 43:48Speaker 1: and Jacorey and Bennett is out as well. So it's
- 43:50Speaker 1: gonna be. Now here's really hit interesting what happens if
- 43:54Speaker 1: they have an injury at corner to either Quinnon, Mitchell
- 43:57Speaker 1: or Killy Ringo. Then they've really got to figure out
- 44:02Speaker 1: it's an issue there. Well, you know, okay, I guess
- 44:05Speaker 1: you can play Cooper to Gene outside, Yes, of course,
- 44:07Speaker 1: and live with somebody else at Nickel.
- 44:09Speaker 3: I guess that would definitely Bell.
- 44:11Speaker 2: Well, will mac McWilliams be active.
- 44:14Speaker 3: Well, that's probably that's part of it. But they're they're
- 44:16Speaker 3: in house things. Harry Nickerson's been active, right, but he's
- 44:20Speaker 3: more of it. They seem more as a Nickel and
- 44:21Speaker 3: he knows the scheme. He is with Vic in Miami.
- 44:23Speaker 3: But one guy do you want to mention Jeff? I
- 44:26Speaker 3: don't know that he's been here long enough, but I
- 44:27Speaker 3: remember talking to someone with the forty nine ers. Ambry
- 44:30Speaker 3: Thomas had a ton of injuries. But Ambry Thomas, Jeff,
- 44:33Speaker 3: let's go started games.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Oh, he has started games. He was a third round pick.
- 44:37Speaker 2: If I'm not making at a Michigan.
- 44:39Speaker 3: Correct, Jeff, you know how much the Eagles love these
- 44:42Speaker 3: former forty nine.
- 44:43Speaker 1: Or thirty Oh? I know that's right. But again, is
- 44:46Speaker 1: kestro Fields by the way back with the Eagles on
- 44:47Speaker 1: their Yeah he is another forty nine er, but yeah, yeah,
- 44:51Speaker 1: so but that just shows you at him, they have
- 44:52Speaker 1: to be very judicious and wise with their elevations, because
- 44:57Speaker 1: we're all talking about practice squad players, and we again,
- 45:00Speaker 1: there's wide receiver, there's offensive line, and now corner and
- 45:03Speaker 1: you only get two.
- 45:05Speaker 2: But your your point is, yeah, if your point is
- 45:07Speaker 2: a great one, because you know what happens if you
- 45:11Speaker 2: hate to see it. Of course, if Mitchell or Ringo
- 45:14Speaker 2: gets hurt.
- 45:15Speaker 1: Yeah, which happened the last time they played the Giants.
- 45:18Speaker 3: Mitchell, Yeah.
- 45:18Speaker 1: I mean they're in some dire straits there at corner.
- 45:21Speaker 1: This this has to make it. I just feel like
- 45:23Speaker 1: this is going to be an ugly game. I've felt
- 45:25Speaker 1: that way the whole week. And since I said that,
- 45:28Speaker 1: why don't we move on to Yeah, let's wrap it up.
- 45:31Speaker 1: I think we already, oh real, real quick. Just though
- 45:34Speaker 1: on wrapping up the defense, Greg, I believe that was
- 45:37Speaker 1: a coverage game for Vic Fangio against the Giants last time,
- 45:40Speaker 1: or he didn't blitz as much. Correct? Do you remember offhand?
- 45:44Speaker 3: Uh, I'll tell you in a sec.
- 45:47Speaker 1: I remember I walked out it being a coverage game.
- 45:50Speaker 2: It was let's see, they played high percentage cover one
- 45:54Speaker 2: in that game, and that had been a big foundation
- 46:00Speaker 2: through their first six games. I mean they at that
- 46:03Speaker 2: point they played it the third highest percentage in the league.
- 46:08Speaker 2: If you remember, in that game the Giants were eleven
- 46:10Speaker 2: for sixteen on third down.
- 46:11Speaker 1: Yeah, so might make VIC want to rethink that. Yeah, defense, yep.
- 46:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I would expect that you might see a little
- 46:21Speaker 2: more you know, selective pressure in this game that I
- 46:24Speaker 2: would think that.
- 46:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:26Speaker 1: By the way, we didn't talk about real quick, we
- 46:28Speaker 1: didn't talk about the Giants offensive line. Safe to say
- 46:30Speaker 1: that not only is it not a laughing stock anymore,
- 46:33Speaker 1: but they're doing a much better job of a you know,
- 46:36Speaker 1: setting the tone in the run game and giving some
- 46:38Speaker 1: protection to the quarterback as compared to Yeah, the last
- 46:42Speaker 1: few years.
- 46:42Speaker 3: It's a professional offensive line right now. There you go.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Functional.
- 46:46Speaker 2: It's not great, but it's it's not it's not a
- 46:49Speaker 2: prob it's not a train wreck.
- 46:52Speaker 3: To fine professional.
- 46:54Speaker 1: They wear ties underneath their uniform. Adam, they have nice
- 46:57Speaker 1: shirts and times.
- 46:58Speaker 3: Yeah he loses that a little bit.

- 48:00Speaker 1: one and up. All right, so let's get into it.
- 48:02Speaker 1: We're gonna predict this game. We're gonna go. I think
- 48:04Speaker 1: the Eagles are. Last I checked, there were seven and
- 48:08Speaker 1: a half point favorites. I would be surprised if there
- 48:11Speaker 1: wasn't a little bit of line movement in the with
- 48:14Speaker 1: the A. J.
- 48:14Speaker 3: Brown News here, I would, I would, I would. Man,
- 48:17Speaker 3: this thing is to me my personal line would be
- 48:19Speaker 3: like five, I'd be you want to start with me?
- 48:23Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you go ahead, started off to start the week.
- 48:27Speaker 3: Of course, we didn't know A. J. Brown wouldn't be
- 48:28Speaker 3: playing because we didn't know when they hit an injury.
- 48:31Speaker 3: They hit the dreaded pop up injury. Well, the line
- 48:34Speaker 3: is still seven a half and forty four. But I
- 48:37Speaker 3: thought the Eagles could blow them out. But again jargons
- 48:41Speaker 3: AJ Brown, Dickson's playing banged up. I just boy that Johnson. Now. Now,
- 48:49Speaker 3: the one thing is mentally how the Giant's gonna be
- 48:52Speaker 3: after a humiliating loss. They're now two and five. That's
- 48:56Speaker 3: something that they're gonna be on the road here again.
- 48:59Speaker 3: But I like the Eagles to win it twenty four
- 49:01Speaker 3: to twenty. This is to me a tight game, which
- 49:05Speaker 3: ironically it hits the over under total like it would
- 49:07Speaker 3: be a push. But it's tough. And my player of
- 49:11Speaker 3: the game this week is hard. But I'm gonna use
- 49:15Speaker 3: number eighty eight. They didn't trade him. It's Dallas Goddard.
- 49:19Speaker 3: He's got to be used more than he will.
- 49:20Speaker 1: Be all right, And Dallas Goddard that was going to
- 49:23Speaker 1: be my player of the game. I might have to
- 49:24Speaker 1: rethink it real quickly.
- 49:26Speaker 2: Let me ask you this, Jeff, do I have to
- 49:28Speaker 2: pick a player or can I pick a coach?
- 49:30Speaker 3: Oh?
- 49:31Speaker 1: You know what, for you, Greg, I will make an exception.
- 49:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna pick Vic fan Joe.
- 49:36Speaker 2: I can't imagine two weeks after they just played and
- 49:40Speaker 2: you know, he saw a young quarterback for the first time.
- 49:43Speaker 2: I strongly believe that Vic fan Joe will have a
- 49:47Speaker 2: scheme we have. I am not smart enough to have
- 49:50Speaker 2: any idea what vic Fanjoe is going to do, but
- 49:52Speaker 2: he's been around the block. This is not his first rodeo.
- 49:56Speaker 2: The Giants do not have great offensive personnel by any
- 50:00Speaker 2: the imagination. Yes, Dart has given them energy and a
- 50:03Speaker 2: stronger sense of hey, we can compete. But he's still
- 50:06Speaker 2: a rookie quarterback that is not particularly you know, a
- 50:10Speaker 2: fishing yet from the pocket, and he does break down
- 50:13Speaker 2: pretty quickly. I just think that Vic Fango is going
- 50:16Speaker 2: to have something that's gonna make this game difficult for Jackson.
- 50:19Speaker 1: Dark And the score is.
- 50:22Speaker 3: Oh, I forgot about that part of it.
- 50:27Speaker 1: Let's go pick the Giants to win, now, right, Giants fifty.
- 50:31Speaker 2: Now I think I'm gonna go twenty four to sixteen Eagles.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Twenty four to sixteen Eagles. All right. I did predict
- 50:39Speaker 1: earlier this week the Eagles to win twenty three to
- 50:42Speaker 1: twenty one in my Philly Voice preview. Now was before
- 50:46Speaker 1: I knew aj Brown was not going to play. But
- 50:49Speaker 1: I'm just not with you or smart enough to be
- 50:51Speaker 1: able to adjust on the fly, So I'm gonna keep
- 50:53Speaker 1: it twenty three twenty one. I am going to change
- 50:56Speaker 1: my player of the game. I think we are going
- 50:59Speaker 1: to see. I don't know why I'm saying this because
- 51:02Speaker 1: of their injuries up front on the offensive line, but
- 51:04Speaker 1: I just got a feeling Saquon Barkley's gonna have his
- 51:06Speaker 1: best game of the year.
- 51:08Speaker 3: Not gonna be a great one, good, but good luck
- 51:10Speaker 3: trying to figure out when that's gonna happen. When he's
- 51:12Speaker 3: gonna be a huge game.
- 51:13Speaker 1: If you ever that's gonna be it, he will win
- 51:14Speaker 1: and or he will be the player of the game.
- 51:16Speaker 1: The Eagles will win twenty three to twenty one. All right,
- 51:20Speaker 1: So that is the Inside the Birds pre game show.
- 51:24Speaker 1: Eagles Giants Week eight should be a great one at
- 51:27Speaker 1: the Link Sunday afternoon for Great Cosell and Adam Kaplan
- 51:30Speaker 1: I'm Jeff Mosher. Thanks for watching the Inside the Birds
