Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Here's your host, Alex Garrett. All right, what did you
- 0:07Speaker 1: rummage through today? On the one like up network? I
- 0:10Speaker 1: have that question for you, what did you rummage through today?
- 0:14Speaker 1: You know, I didn't think I'd be doing a daily
- 0:16Speaker 1: little hit here, even if I don't have any guests.
- 0:18Speaker 1: But I just feel very strongly that we have to
- 0:20Speaker 1: keep updating you on the one like up on news
- 0:22Speaker 1: and side of things with everything going on. We'll get
- 0:29Speaker 1: into social Security in a second, because it was a
- 0:31Speaker 1: big debate on X last night between Elon Musk and
- 0:35Speaker 1: Senator John Fetterman where Fetterman says that he's rummaging through
- 0:43Speaker 1: elon is People's data, and look, I don't think Doge
- 0:54Speaker 1: should be having our social security data. I get the
- 0:59Speaker 1: intention here, but it doesn't it's not American. We shouldn't
- 1:08Speaker 1: have anybody rummaging through anybody's data. It's so funny because
- 1:14Speaker 1: isn't the reason why we didn't want TikTok as a
- 1:17Speaker 1: you know, the politicians didn't want TikTok, and even Trump
- 1:22Speaker 1: has waivered on that, and I still think he wants
- 1:25Speaker 1: to get TikTok off of China's teat if you will.
- 1:31Speaker 1: It's because we don't want their We don't want people's
- 1:33Speaker 1: data being rummaged through, not by China, not by Doge,
- 1:40Speaker 1: not by anybody. So what is that play here? There's
- 1:46Speaker 1: sixty nine million people on Social Security according to CNED,
- 1:54Speaker 1: and we're gonna just the federal judges are gonna let
- 1:57Speaker 1: them go through our data. Yeah, that's just horrible. And
- 2:07Speaker 1: I just see in Newsweek there's a White Plain Social
- 2:10Speaker 1: Security hearing office in New York that could be closed
- 2:14Speaker 1: as of May thirty. First fortune this story out. So
- 2:23Speaker 1: many Americans die from COVID. It's boosting Social Security to
- 2:26Speaker 1: the tune of two hundred and five billion dollars. I
- 2:29Speaker 1: get it. There's a lot of money at stake here,
- 2:37Speaker 1: and that maybe some dead people are still getting Social Security,
- 2:41Speaker 1: which I find mind boggling. And I think dogs can
- 2:47Speaker 1: rummage through whatever they want, but not people's data. Not
- 2:53Speaker 1: people's data. That's not how we have one leg up
- 2:57Speaker 1: for the country. Is it by simply rummaging through that?
- 3:04Speaker 1: That that's not how we work as America. You know,
- 3:09Speaker 1: data mining is a real thing, but but it shouldn't
- 3:15Speaker 1: be done by our federal government in this way. I
- 3:19Speaker 1: do believe that we can send to everybody having our
- 3:22Speaker 1: data at the end of the day. But when you
- 3:26Speaker 1: make it known, when you go out of your way,
- 3:30Speaker 1: that's the word I'm trying to say, when you go
- 3:32Speaker 1: out of your way to say, hey, guess what, uh
- 3:37Speaker 1: we want your data, we want to rummage through your data,
- 3:40Speaker 1: as Vetterman is said, and as uh mister Elon Musk
- 3:47Speaker 1: has rebuffed, I guess the word I'm trying to look
- 3:51Speaker 1: for here. It's not right. Nobody should be rummaging through
- 4:01Speaker 1: anything of privacy. And then I see today that Elon's
- 4:08Speaker 1: asking Trump for five thousand dollars. I mean, did you
- 4:11Speaker 1: hear about this story? He's gonna ask him for five
- 4:14Speaker 1: thousand dollars and as a doge dividend for every American,
- 4:34Speaker 1: which will costs more than one point sixty seventy five
- 4:37Speaker 1: trillion dollars. A doged dividend would distribute a refund check
- 4:44Speaker 1: to every American citizen. This article, by the way, coming
- 4:58Speaker 1: from Baller Alert. And we could use extra money, but
- 5:14Speaker 1: if we gave each person five thousand dollars, it will
- 5:18Speaker 1: cost one point sixty five seventy five trillion dollars forty
- 5:23Speaker 1: percent of the total federal budget. Now, yes, I've said before,
- 5:26Speaker 1: we need to bring money back into the country. We
- 5:29Speaker 1: need to give money back to Americans, not kick our
- 5:32Speaker 1: doors out if we don't pay a certain tax on time.
- 5:37Speaker 1: That concept, that approach doesn't sit right with me either.
- 5:42Speaker 1: And I think we all enjoyed that payout during COVID.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Remember all those paychecks during COVID. We love that we
- 5:49Speaker 1: were thriving during that. But at the end of the day,
- 5:57Speaker 1: at the end of the day, what Elon's doing through
- 5:59Speaker 1: the day aid of mining and the rummaging and now
- 6:02Speaker 1: asking Trump for this dividend which could cost one point
- 6:05Speaker 1: sixty seven four trillion dollars. We got a thing smarter,
- 6:14Speaker 1: and I get if a limiting government waste could create
- 6:17Speaker 1: those funds, that would be great. Let's eliminate the waste
- 6:20Speaker 1: first and not touch those security Let's get rid of
- 6:25Speaker 1: what Trump claimed famously but in the air conditioned offices
- 6:31Speaker 1: who basically don't care about the American people. Let's get
- 6:34Speaker 1: rid of those people first. But let's not touch or
- 6:39Speaker 1: rummage through our data, Elon Musk, because then you're starting
- 6:47Speaker 1: to violate privacy. And I get it. We consent to
- 6:52Speaker 1: privacy all the time, Bob. You know invasion of privacy
- 6:55Speaker 1: all the time with our phones and all that. In
- 7:00Speaker 1: this context, it's touching a very sensitive issue which impacts
- 7:06Speaker 1: the retired elderly over sixty five. That doesn't mean they're older,
- 7:14Speaker 1: but elderly by the way, and they're disabled. And I've
- 7:18Speaker 1: said before, if you want to make changes with DOGE,
- 7:22Speaker 1: you do it in a way that doesn't impact the
- 7:25Speaker 1: disabled community firstly, and doesn't impact social security. And going
- 7:32Speaker 1: through this data and even the judge allowing it to
- 7:36Speaker 1: go through, that's disturbing too. Now going through data is
- 7:44Speaker 1: not like you know, bail reform here in New York, No,
- 7:47Speaker 1: not where where a criminal who's let out time after
- 7:51Speaker 1: time commits another crime then let out. That's different. But
- 7:56Speaker 1: if these judges want to truly be doing just things,
- 8:03Speaker 1: it should be to protect the American people and Social
- 8:07Speaker 1: Security recipients, not let DOGE get their hands on our data.
- 8:15Speaker 1: That will not help us have one leg up in
- 8:19Speaker 1: this country. Do I want dividends for Americans after we
- 8:23Speaker 1: dole out so much for foreign countries? Yes? Do I
- 8:27Speaker 1: want to get rid of whoever is not alive getting
- 8:30Speaker 1: Social Security? You know what I mean? Getting rid of
- 8:32Speaker 1: those on the roles if you will, yes, but be
- 8:39Speaker 1: precise with it. Don't just target every living and dead
- 8:44Speaker 1: person that you believe is on Social Security. That's just
- 8:51Speaker 1: going to cause chaos, confusion, concern, and it truly is
- 8:58Speaker 1: an invasion of privacy. So Elon, I appreciate you. I
- 9:06Speaker 1: love that you're trying to cut waste, but there's ways
- 9:09Speaker 1: to do it, and rummaging, as Senator Fetterman has said,
- 9:16Speaker 1: is not the answer either. We've gotta things smarter about
- 9:25Speaker 1: that for the sake of the safety of the Americans
- 9:30Speaker 1: who rightly receive Social Security. And you know, I do
- 9:39Speaker 1: believe social Security can be a lifeblood for Americans that
- 9:43Speaker 1: need it, and their data shouldn't be the cost they
- 9:50Speaker 1: pay to receive these checks. Figure out a different way, don't,
- 9:58Speaker 1: and I don't think Elon can dodge this one. On
- 10:02Speaker 1: the One ling Up Network, a Malex Garett
